- 2:22Speaker 4: run away while recording it. Authorities say it can cause
- 2:25Speaker 4: damage and also lead to criminal charges. And an Arundol

- 2:53Speaker 4: at the Collection in Chevy Chase, is expected to remain
- 2:56Speaker 4: open until the end of Dismay. And According to you
- 3:00Speaker 4: a recent survey, battery life apparently is the top priority
- 3:03Speaker 4: for people who are buying a new smartphone. About eighty
- 3:06Speaker 4: percent of responding said that longer battery life is a
- 3:10Speaker 4: must have feature when they're upgrading their device forecast today beautiful,
- 3:15Speaker 4: lots of sun, highs around seventy two right now forty
- 3:18Speaker 4: seven in Fairfax.
- 3:19Speaker 3: On this Monday morning. Go ahead, have another cup of coffee.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I'll wait.
- 3:24Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one wash Chef M Toby and
- 3:26Speaker 2: Chilly in the morning. Remember you get your top stories
- 3:29Speaker 2: at the top of the hour and coming up next
- 3:32Speaker 2: probably a morning mindset that might be needed today depending
- 3:37Speaker 2: on what your state of mind is. We worry about
- 3:40Speaker 2: you and how you're doing, and sell will share some
- 3:43Speaker 2: words that we hope might inspire coming up in just
- 3:47Speaker 2: minutes to stay the ninety seven point one was CHEFM,
- 3:50Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly on this Monday morning, and it's time
- 3:53Speaker 2: now for us to pause.
- 3:55Speaker 4: And share a quote for the morning mindset.
- 3:57Speaker 3: That's right.
- 3:58Speaker 2: This is where we square our focus on you and
- 4:01Speaker 2: how you're doing today, and hopefully this will help you.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Mario Andretti says, if everything seems under control, you're not
- 4:09Speaker 2: going fast enough. Mario Andretti knows a little bit about
- 4:13Speaker 2: going fast as a racer and such. If everything seems
- 4:18Speaker 2: under control, you're not going fast enough. Now, this I
- 4:21Speaker 2: think is important and here's why. When you're in the
- 4:25Speaker 2: comfort zone you really don't produce bake breakthroughs. People who
- 4:32Speaker 2: live in comfort zones, I think you'll find they rarely
- 4:35Speaker 2: produce a breakthrough. Sometimes the edge is exactly where you
- 4:40Speaker 2: need to be, So do what you need to do,
- 4:42Speaker 2: do what makes you comfortable, but realize that, you know what,
- 4:47Speaker 2: if you're on the edge, that might be where you
- 4:49Speaker 2: need to be. And go ahead and let go, because
- 4:52Speaker 2: if everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough
- 4:56Speaker 2: at your morning mindset Compliments one Mario Andretti. Hopefully it
- 4:59Speaker 2: ha help you on this Monday morning. If it did,
- 5:01Speaker 2: feel free to let us know and if you want
- 5:03Speaker 2: to hear it again, find it so you'll see it
- 5:05Speaker 2: on our Insta, Facebook, the Toby and chilipagewshfm dot com.
- 5:10Speaker 3: And stay right there because next we're.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Going to talk about how apparently more and more women
- 5:17Speaker 4: are comfortable leaving the house without makeup.
- 5:22Speaker 3: How do you feel about this?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Eight six, six, nine two, seven forty three sixty one.
- 5:29Speaker 2: That's the number we'll get into it coming up in
- 5:32Speaker 2: a few It is ninety seven point one WASHFM, Toby
- 5:36Speaker 2: and Chile in the Morning and DC's variety of the eighties,
- 5:40Speaker 2: nineties and today. Thanks for waking up with us on
- 5:42Speaker 2: this Monday. There's a recent study. A new study that
- 5:45Speaker 2: came out says it a seventy five percent of women
- 5:49Speaker 2: are now comfortable leaving the house without makeup.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Gen Z and millennials.
- 5:54Speaker 2: They're the ones who say that they have the most
- 5:57Speaker 2: confidence when it comes to their skin.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Wow, that's impressive, especially for the younger girls. I'm actually
- 6:03Speaker 4: very very happy to hear that.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I think so, and I think that that means a
- 6:07Speaker 2: lot of marketing and a lot of messages and messenging
- 6:10Speaker 2: have actually taken hold, you know, because there's nothing to
- 6:13Speaker 2: mean more beautiful than someone who can pull it off
- 6:16Speaker 2: without makeup?
- 6:17Speaker 3: Well can people that need it?
- 6:19Speaker 4: Okay, see, now that's very interesting you say that, because
- 6:22Speaker 4: that's a little I don't love that. We mean pull
- 6:24Speaker 4: it off. We should all just do it. Well, yeah,
- 6:27Speaker 4: I mean you're saying that some women need to wear makeup.
- 6:30Speaker 2: No, I'm saying that some women feel like they need
- 6:33Speaker 2: to wear makeup. And I think that there's nothing more
- 6:35Speaker 2: beautiful than being on natchurale. Okay, you know that, don't
- 6:38Speaker 2: say pull it off. It means that they look good anyway, right, Okay,
- 6:41Speaker 2: some antext You're beautiful just as you are.
- 6:45Speaker 4: And I love that they are doing this in their twenties, right,
- 6:48Speaker 4: because when I was their age, I was not as confident.
- 6:51Speaker 4: I mean, at this point in life, yeah, I walk
- 6:54Speaker 4: out of the house without makeup a lot. But it's
- 6:57Speaker 4: wonderful that authenticity is become more important, right, It's becoming
- 7:02Speaker 4: the trend. It's becoming the accepted trend.
- 7:05Speaker 3: You know.
- 7:05Speaker 2: It's to the point. And maybe this is just me
- 7:07Speaker 2: as a guy observing. I can spot somebody with a
- 7:11Speaker 2: lot of makeup on a mile away, and look, I'm
- 7:16Speaker 2: not trying to judge. If that makes you feel confident,
- 7:18Speaker 2: then you do what you need to do.
- 7:20Speaker 4: You're just not attracted to that.
- 7:21Speaker 3: I just think that it can be a little bit
- 7:23Speaker 3: too much sometimes.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, And ultimately, you know, we all do what
- 7:28Speaker 4: we want to do for our own confidence, but our
- 7:30Speaker 4: own confidence is oftentimes tied to societal perceptions. And it
- 7:36Speaker 4: would be really nice if as a society people were
- 7:39Speaker 4: more open to accepting you just as you are.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Yep, shatter the norms today, people, that's right. Embrace the
- 7:47Speaker 2: un actual and the authenticity. If you want to read more,
- 7:50Speaker 2: you can to tell me a Chilipage at WASHFM dot com.

- 9:14Speaker 4: A Harrisonburg man is facing charges in Fairfax County after
- 9:17Speaker 4: police say he impersonated a pastor to sexually assault a woman.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Investigators say thirty six year old Antonio Zamora met the
- 9:25Speaker 4: victim online before assaulting her during what was supposed to
- 9:28Speaker 4: be a counseling session back in November. A Northwest DC
- 9:32Speaker 4: man is facing charges after police say he threatened first
- 9:35Speaker 4: responders with a knife. Investigators a forty eight year old
- 9:39Speaker 4: Daniel Marshall became agitated while DC fire and EMS crews
- 9:43Speaker 4: were treating him and allegedly tried to attack a crew
- 9:46Speaker 4: member before being arrested. Some former US Capitol police officers
- 9:51Speaker 4: are criticizing a plaque honoring their January sixth service installed
- 9:56Speaker 4: early Saturday in a Senate area that's closed to the public.
- 10:00Speaker 4: While the plaque was meant to recognize officers who defended
- 10:03Speaker 4: the Capital, several say that its timing and location are inappropriate.
- 10:08Speaker 4: The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center is asking
- 10:12Speaker 4: for urgent help after reaching critical capacity with more than
- 10:16Speaker 4: one hundred dogs currently at the shelter. Officials are especially
- 10:21Speaker 4: urging residents to adopt or foster large dogs, and a
- 10:25Speaker 4: woman was taken into custody after allegedly firing several rounds
- 10:29Speaker 4: from her vehicle towards Rihanna's home in Beverly Hills. TMZ
- 10:34Speaker 4: reports that the motive remains unclear. Forecast today beautiful with
- 10:39Speaker 4: sunny skies, highs around seventy two right now forty seven
- 10:42Speaker 4: in Beltsville.
- 10:43Speaker 2: That's the news with Toby and Chilly in the morning
- 10:45Speaker 2: Top Stories at the top of the hour, and we're
- 10:48Speaker 2: about to learn something interesting together. There's a new study
- 10:52Speaker 2: of that says that seventy percent of people think a
- 10:54Speaker 2: wife should obey her husband. Well, only thirty six percent
- 10:59Speaker 2: of people think a huh been should obey his wife.
- 11:03Speaker 2: There's more to this and we'll get into it coming up.
- 11:06Speaker 2: And if you've got thoughts, of course, we want to
- 11:08Speaker 2: hear from you. At eight sixty six, nine two, seven,
- 11:11Speaker 2: forty three sixty one.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Remember the number is eight sixty six nine two seven
- 11:16Speaker 2: forty three sixty one. I'm sure you'll have some opinions
- 11:19Speaker 2: on this new survey. It says seventy percent of people
- 11:23Speaker 2: think a wife should obey her husband. Only thirty six
- 11:26Speaker 2: percent of people think a husband should obey his wife. Now,
- 11:29Speaker 2: before you lose it, there's more to the story. Yeah,
- 11:32Speaker 2: other findings chilly. Thirty seven percent of men believe the
- 11:36Speaker 2: wife should obey the husband. Sixty seven percent of women, Yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 2: think a wife should obey her husband.
- 11:42Speaker 4: So the word obey, traditionally in those marriage vows is
- 11:46Speaker 4: sort of to follow the leadership of the husband in
- 11:50Speaker 4: the marriage. Okay, traditionally I'm not a fan of that word.
- 11:55Speaker 4: We have an equal partnership in our marriage, one could argue,
- 11:59Speaker 4: will maybe the no, literally, it's an equal partnership at
- 12:03Speaker 4: least in my marriage. And the word obey is triggering
- 12:05Speaker 4: because it makes me think of my very strict parents
- 12:08Speaker 4: raising me and I had to do what they said
- 12:11Speaker 4: because we're your no, no, no, and especially if I'm
- 12:15Speaker 4: contributing to the household.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Oh hell no, okay, I hear.
- 12:20Speaker 4: Well, how do you feel as a guy?
- 12:22Speaker 2: I feel like twenty one percent of respondence to this
- 12:24Speaker 2: survey who say that husband and wives should mutually obey
- 12:28Speaker 2: one another. I think that when you take vows to
- 12:30Speaker 2: your point, you you say you're gonna love, honor, and obey.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Some people say cherish, but you're right. It's a partnership.
- 12:40Speaker 2: That's the only way it's going to work. It can't
- 12:42Speaker 2: be my way or the highway, because if it were,
- 12:45Speaker 2: we'd be living on the side of the highway.
- 12:47Speaker 4: And I know it works for a lot of marriages,
- 12:49Speaker 4: and that's fine. If that's the dynamic you have, then
- 12:53Speaker 4: it doesn't have to make sense to anybody else.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Right, Sure, you got some thoughts and opinions, so jump
- 12:58Speaker 2: in this morning eight sixty six nineties seven forty three
- 13:01Speaker 2: sixty one.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Where do you stand?
- 13:03Speaker 2: Seventy percent of people think a wife should obey her husband.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Only thirty six percent of people think a husband should
- 13:10Speaker 2: obey the wife.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Thoughts. Oh, I can't wait to hear these.
- 13:15Speaker 2: It's coming up. It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues,
- 13:19Speaker 2: muckle up for me, goes, this is gonna get interesting.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Eight six, six nine twenty seven forty three sixty one.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the Morning at ninety seven point
- 13:28Speaker 2: one Watch FM cannot wait to hear what you think
- 13:30Speaker 2: about this new survey. Seventy percent of people, according to
- 13:33Speaker 2: the survey, say that a wife should obey her husband. Now,
- 13:38Speaker 2: there were some other findings. Thirty seven percent of men
- 13:42Speaker 2: believe that the wife should obey. Sixty seven percent of
- 13:45Speaker 2: women think that the wife should obey. I find that
- 13:50Speaker 2: to be very interesting.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yea.
- 13:51Speaker 2: And then there's twenty one percent who say that it
- 13:53Speaker 2: should be a mutual deal.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Yeah, and Toby and I are on the mutual page. Okay,
- 13:59Speaker 4: it's in our world. It's a partnership, equal obeying, right,
- 14:05Speaker 4: But obviously not everybody agrees with us.
- 14:08Speaker 2: No, Like, hello there, George, and thank you for letting
- 14:11Speaker 2: us be a part of your morning in Fairfax. Should
- 14:15Speaker 2: a wife obey her husband, sir, thoughts?
- 14:17Speaker 4: I do agree with it to an extent. Oh no, okay,
- 14:21Speaker 4: explain to what extent. If a woman is not working,
- 14:24Speaker 4: then she should obey the husband and do whatever he asks,
- 14:27Speaker 4: because he's the one pain for everything. But if she's working,
- 14:30Speaker 4: then possibly not. I hear you, George. But just because
- 14:32Speaker 4: she's not working doesn't mean she's not contributing to the household.
- 14:36Speaker 4: In other ways.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I'm not touching this one with a tit foot.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Paul George, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Best of luck, and I'm going to keep you in
- 14:45Speaker 2: my prayers. Good morning, Erica, and thank you for calling
- 14:48Speaker 2: us from Potomac this morning. Should the woman obey the husband?
- 14:54Speaker 4: No?
- 14:55Speaker 6: The word obey is a very heavy canted word. I
- 14:59Speaker 6: mean it's use three the only women had to say
- 15:01Speaker 6: that in the vows, and they added it so everybody
- 15:03Speaker 6: said it in the vows. When I got married, I
- 15:05Speaker 6: asked her to be left out.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Why do you like it?
- 15:08Speaker 6: Because obey it implies subordination. Agreeing on something is different
- 15:12Speaker 6: than obeying somebody that it kind of puts a relationship
- 15:15Speaker 6: in a parent child situation rather than to an equal adult.
- 15:19Speaker 3: You and Chili are sipping from the same kool aid
- 15:21Speaker 3: this morning.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I would say the same thing. You're not my daddy.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Well, and if you've got thoughts eight sixty six nine
- 15:29Speaker 2: two seven forty three sixty you wonder you could tap
- 15:32Speaker 2: the talk back microphone. Sometimes that is easier if you're
- 15:35Speaker 2: signed in listening to your iHeart apps. Should a woman
- 15:38Speaker 2: obey the husband? Tell us what you think and if
- 15:41Speaker 2: you want to read more about this survey, get to

- 20:16Speaker 2: are listening right around this time tomorrow morning and coming
- 20:21Speaker 2: up next with Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
- 20:22Speaker 4: We think we found a story that'll make your Monday.
- 20:25Speaker 4: A simple pen pal project at a Northern Virginia high
- 20:28Speaker 4: school is building unlikely friendships with teens in Ukraine.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Stay with us, You're not gonna want to miss this
- 20:36Speaker 2: Monday morning, ninety seven point one WASHFM with Toby and
- 20:39Speaker 2: Chilly in the Morning, and it is time for a
- 20:41Speaker 2: story that we think might just make your Monday. Comes
- 20:43Speaker 2: to us from Oakton High School in the Nova Hood
- 20:46Speaker 2: in Northern Virginia. It's all about a friendship that stretches
- 20:49Speaker 2: all the way to Ukraine.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Which started as a simple classroom project has really turned
- 20:54Speaker 4: into something much bigger. You see a lot of students
- 20:57Speaker 4: in Ukraine their daily life has been anything but normal
- 21:01Speaker 4: since Russia invaded their country, and thousands of miles away
- 21:04Speaker 4: in Fairfax County, some students wanted to do something about
- 21:08Speaker 4: it to show that they.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Care and so they sat down and started writing letters,
- 21:13Speaker 2: you know, pinned to paper. This pin Pal program connects
- 21:16Speaker 2: Oakton High School students with teens in Ukraine, and the
- 21:20Speaker 2: messages that they sent became more than just notes on paper.
- 21:24Speaker 2: They became a lifeline. They were encouragement, curiosity, even connection.
- 21:29Speaker 4: And what's great is the program even expanded beyond letters.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Some students are even meeting over Zoom where they're getting
- 21:35Speaker 4: to put faces to the names that they've been writing to.
- 21:38Speaker 4: And despite the great distance and the war, the friendships
- 21:42Speaker 4: are real.
- 21:42Speaker 2: And for those in Ukraine, for the teens there these letters,
- 21:46Speaker 2: they're a reminder that were not alone in this world.
- 21:49Speaker 2: For the students in Northern Virginia, it's proof that something simple,
- 21:53Speaker 2: a message from a stranger, can really become something very
- 21:57Speaker 2: powerful that can cross oceans and sees. It's all about
- 22:01Speaker 2: a connection that's built on empathy, hope, and friendship during
- 22:06Speaker 2: what is no doubt one of the hardest times for
- 22:09Speaker 2: the people in Ukraine.
- 22:10Speaker 4: And that's why we want to say thank you to
- 22:12Speaker 4: Oakden High School and this pen Pal program that they
- 22:14Speaker 4: have for giving us a story that really makes our Monday.
- 22:17Speaker 4: And you can read more about it on the Toby
- 22:19Speaker 4: and Chilipage at WASHFM dot com.

- 23:37Speaker 4: Investigator say thirty six year old Antonio Zamora met the
- 23:40Speaker 4: victim online before assaulting her during what was supposed to
- 23:44Speaker 4: be a counseling session. In November, a Northwest DC man
- 23:48Speaker 4: is facing charges after police say he threatened first responders
- 23:52Speaker 4: with a knife. Investigators say forty eight year old Daniel
- 23:55Speaker 4: Marshall became agitated while DC Fire and EMS crews were
- 23:59Speaker 4: treating himself night and allegedly try to attack a crew
- 24:03Speaker 4: member before he was arrested. Some former US Capitol police
- 24:07Speaker 4: officers are criticizing a plaque honoring their January sixth service
- 24:12Speaker 4: that was installed over the weekend and a Senate area
- 24:15Speaker 4: closed to the public. While the plaque was meant to
- 24:18Speaker 4: recognize officers who defended the Capitol, several say that its
- 24:22Speaker 4: timing and location are inappropriate, and according to a recent survey,
- 24:27Speaker 4: seventy five percent of people they're going to show up
- 24:30Speaker 4: to work tired today because of the time change. On average,
- 24:35Speaker 4: workers won't even smile until eleven sixteen am, and we'll

- 25:33Speaker 2: inadvertently served bug spray to patrons instead of cranberry juice.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Needless to say, there was probably some sort of legal
- 25:42Speaker 2: ramifications for doing so.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Yeah, they were fined twenty eight thousand dollars for serving
- 25:49Speaker 4: that to two customers. Thankfully, the kids in this case
- 25:54Speaker 4: are fine. They just had some headaches after drinking the solution,
- 25:58Speaker 4: some stomach aches. Feeling that people could potentially mix up
