- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: The hashtag no music, no intro, we are back.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_01]: The Saints Block Party podcast presented brought to you by precious works, LLC, any business website needs.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: Reach out to our guy, Bajon.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_01]: It is time, y'all, it is the sixth annual.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_01]: Tony Pooeen, of essentially sports, joining the StainSpot Party podcast, talk about the Stainth, the upcoming draft, the draft is on the 23rd, is right around the corner, and this is always a big episode for us as
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: We like six years ago on the 17th of April, Ryan and I started a podcast that we thought was going to be a one-off.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: And now six years later, it's become its whole thing, a brand of business.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: So it's always an honor to have Tony come on because he was an essential part of our growth in our journey.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you so much for joining us, Tony.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: It got hopping on and talking and saying to draft with us as always.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: We started in.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: In 2020, our first, our first episode was April 17th, 2020.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: I guess it, it was right in the middle of COVID.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: Let's try, let's guess it was bad, then, huh?
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: It was and before you joined I was actually just doing a little research because this has been a thing for us on this podcast.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: The Saints have drafted eight offensive players in those six years since you've been coming on this show.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to I'm going to list these players in the last six years.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_01]: Or I guess technically five because you're not counting this year's draft class.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: Chris Olave, A.T. Perry, Kendra Miller, but memes, Devin Nill, and Malokki, Matavo, they dropped the last shot this item.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's the eight office of plays that they drafted and essentially going on year six.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: Please, is there any hope that this team, which had a really good draft last year, Tyler Schuck, Kelvin Banks, got some good players, Quincy Riley, is this the year where potentially the teams shifts their focus and look at adding additional weapons in the draft?
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: They've already happened in free agency with Travis HN and got David Edwards, but actual juice at the skill positions.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: Is that a chance that that's gonna happen this year?
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, um, before coming on here, I reached out to my guy and I said, you know, do you think the Saints would draft Kenyans to dec with the eighth pick?
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: And he was like, they could, which probably means that there's a very good chance that they could draft Kenyans to dec. And I know that when one of the years we spoke, you guys were dying for the
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and you know, you look at it.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: People think I'm crazy when I put Kenyansodik with the saints at number eight, but you look at last year, the bears selected constant lovelin with the tenth pick of the draft.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: The cult selected Tyler Warren with the 16th pick of the draft.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: And Kenyansodik is much higher rated.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: And that was in a draft that was really strong at the top.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: With the Travis Hunters, with the Abdul Qarders, Mason Grams, Armond Membo's, Coastal Lovelin Silver 1.10.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: Kenyansodik is great at a much much higher than either of those tight ends.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: I would say, compare him to Brock Bowers.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's not as polished as Brock Bowers, but it's
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're upside.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: So, do I think there's a chance?
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: I absolutely do think there's a possibility.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see what happens with the selections.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, is Carnotate somehow taken before the Saints call to the clock.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's going to happen.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: So, I think they'll have their other have an opportunity to draft a good skill player or a good offensive weapon for a Tyler shock.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's been interesting.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: When you drop their Denmark with Sadikon at eight, called a lot of people of guard, because they just, one, because the Saints don't draft a lot of tight ends, just historically.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_02]: And two is just not a place where a lot of people saw Sadikon, but when we met at a book that it was like, you know, that actually makes a little sense.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
- 4:36[SPEAKER_02]: Especially when you look at it.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_02]: What kill it more has been trying to do recently, working out a lot of offensive skill position.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: He really wants to upgrade, you know, the offensive skill position weapons for Tyler's shop.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: So it did make a lot of sense.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_02]: Are there any other players that you could see the Saints going at eight, not offensively, all defensively guys that you think or that you've been hearing that could kind of fit into that slot.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I guess Ruben Baines got to fit in that conversation.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: You know, what's going to happen after the news today?
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: It could go either way.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: And there's talked that they need an edge, they obviously need an edge russia.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: And you know how Mickey Loomus loves to draft guys on the lines of scrimmage, you know, year after year.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: Who you know?
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a possibility.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think that,
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: really anybody other than Cornel Tade or Kenyansodique at that position.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: as far as a past catcher or a weapon would be a reach.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I even think that Carnell Tate is a bit of a reach at number eight.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think he would be selected because he's a top receiver, not that he's the eighth best player in the draft.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I would agree with that.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: One thing that I do find fascinating and it may not happen, but
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: Is there any, what's your just overall sense of Jeremiah's love, draft range?
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: Because I do have this feeling potentially, I get a sense that the team really does like him and even though they add a Travis H and a free agency.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: If he just happened to be there at eight,
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: potentially that could be appearing where you add a strength on the strength and you have an identity for the team at a very strong run game for the quarterback.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: But like I is is that position kind of it's his stock kind of tied to the Titans in terms of maybe what they do and maybe how high or how low he may go.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: I struggle to see the Titans taking, uh, Jeremiah love at four, especially Robert Sala there as their new head coach and even more Gondy, look at Sala when he was with the jets.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't making the calls, but he was involved and they were drafting.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Jared Jermaine Johnson, who he traded for, will make Donald when they really didn't need in that Russia.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: They were drafting edge rushes.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's going to be a pass rusher, especially in a draft that's heavy at past rushers.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: And you look at more guns, you come to the cheese, where they had a lot of success with guys like Isaiah.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: But check-o and late round picks, I struggle to see the Saints taking Jeremiah love.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: of that early now may I know they like Mike Washington and you know you don't know what's going to happen with Alva Alvin Kamara.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: So I think in the second round, I've got like Mike Washington who would be a great compliment to Travis A. T. N. is definitely a possibility.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: That it's it's interesting to see where Jeremiah love.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: Where does he go?
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: You
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: The Chiefs just paid, you know, King of the Walker, the Saint's just paid, can a chance.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, the Titans don't take them.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: See, he gets past Washington.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: Dennis like, okay, how far does Jeremiah love fall because I mean, the kid is ridiculously talented, but then it's just about finding that match, you know, that team.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: I struggle seeing the commanders pass on them.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they've used running back by committee.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: Jaden Daniels is coming off, disappointing season granted.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: He was injured.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: You want to make Jaden Daniels better get them an offensive weapon like Jeremiah Love, who cannot only carry the ball, but it's a terrific cast catcher out of the back field.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I struggle seeing him get passed there.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: The commanders?
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: Again, with the money that the Saints paid to ATN, you know, where does he fall?
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, with Dallas Day come at 12.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: I just got really, really enticing for Dallas.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: What point time does he become a such great value that team may trade up?
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's going to be very fascinating to see how it all plays out.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: Another player who just, just because of just this draft,
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: where the positional value is maybe done doesn't align with what the NFL typically likes.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like a player that right and I both love is Caleb Downs.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: And his value to me is very interesting too, because I believe like the sense of light to him all throughout the process.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: You can look and see he would be a great fit for Brennan State Lee's defense and the star roll But like he could go he goes you can make an argument you know as high as five to the giants or to the to the dolphins or to Dallas like and all of that would make sense Where like just in general like where are you hearing his ranges is like in what's just or you're overall impression of Caleb down.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's just how to play
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: I love down this is a player.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: I thought early on the jets could take him a two.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: Then they made the trade for make if it's Patrick.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: So that's off the board good for the jets for making that trade.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think Caleb Downs people are going to try and poke holes in his game.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he wasn't super productive in 2025, but he was asked to play a different position.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: He was asked to play a different sort of
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: safety roll with Matt Patricia, you'll go back to 2024.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: It was all over the place making play have to play, it was just like wow.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: So if you base it on 2025, you're not going to have a very high view of opinion of Caleb Dowd's, which I think is wrong, you've got to go back and look at the two years prior to that.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: Where can you go?
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: I would agree the giants at number five have got to consider them even though they've got two safety's here.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: One, they paid a lot of money too.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Saints, I think the Bengals, I don't think he gets past the Bengals because they need a lot of help in their secondary.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: They need a lot of help and safety.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: I would be very surprised if he got past the Bengals at number 10.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'd be shocked.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: That would be crazy.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_02]: There was a lot of hubbob last night about, you know, it came out a report about Bane, Bane, about a car accident he got in a couple of years ago, someone, you know, unfortunately lost in life, then it was like another citation that he got a year later.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: Just not so much about that, but there's obviously a lot, obviously players,
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: have things that happen or there's care to concerns and stuff like that.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of times, our sister's fans don't know about it, teams know about it.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, what much more in advance of us, are there any players that come to mind for you that are like, that you probably know some stuff about or you've heard some stuff where it's like, yeah, this guy is probably highly rated, but there's some stuff in the back around that teams are worried about that.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: Most people just don't know about.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: The answer is yes, I mean, I don't remember the answer.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I mean, you know, going back to Bane, I had heard about Bane back in January, about the situation with Bane back in January.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: There wasn't a lot of detail given to me, but I had heard about this.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: It was a situation with a car and someone had died.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: But the way it was presented to me was it wasn't that Bane was implicated.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: The implication or the,
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: The bigger problem, if you will kind of rested with the University of Miami, who tried to sweep everything under the rug, which I guess they have successfully done, and it was going to happen.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: what he did while he was at school and we've seen what a problem that has turned out to be now it's a different situation between Rishi Rice and Ruben Dame.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: The logic to your question is yes, I think we're going to see some people some players fall.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: and come the Saturday night if they end up in the 6 or 7th round or they go on drafted, people are going to scratch their heads.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, there's two guys I can think of right off the top of my head that they're going to fly.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: I mean Malachi Lawrence, people projecting him in the first round.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: This is something I'll talk about.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: a lot of teams are really upset with Malachi Lawrence because he didn't do any position drills at his pro-day and teams flew into what to work them out to watch to do position drills and all he did was stand on the sidelines in sweats.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't measure.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't get on the scale.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of reminded me of the one Jones a couple of years ago when I went to the Ohio State Pro-Day.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: uh uh watch C.J.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: Stroud throw the ball uh to uh Jackson Smith Nick Jigba and Duan Jones basically sat there in his Ohio State warm-up suit and did nothing and teams were not happy with that that's what that was a situation uh with Malachi Lawrence a couple of weeks ago at the Central Florida Pro Day uh there are some guys we'll see what abs maybe you want to have me on post draft
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: What up, Wolf?
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: What are you looking at?
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: Man, I'm checking out this website.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: This site is Cheeksboro.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: In the 21st century, how do you have a crappy website?
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Couldn't be me?
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: They need to hit a bi-guide.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: Bees are all with precious works.

- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: He also keeps it up to date and helps us any time we want to add something new like a farm or the prospect manager tool that we did for the NFL draft.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's like having your own personal developer just a text star called away.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_02]: Pressure's work says work with everyone from small businesses to large firms, so no job is too big or too small.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: If you're in a need of a website, or you currently have one, but you want to upgrade it, give these on a highly precious works.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: You can get with them at Beezon, at PreciousWorks, B-I-J-O-N, at Precious.Works, or go to Precious.Works for his website.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: Make sure to tell him things like that, buddy.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, something you just hit on that I find just so fascinating, just in current modern day draft world is just how different things are in terms of just prospect testing and athletic testing, like, you know, maybe like, you know, a lot of prospects aren't doing, like the agility drills, speak, and obviously teams have been able to get answers, whether it be like the tracking
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: how teams are handling a lot of prospects choosing potentially maybe not to do the agility drills are being very specific in which ones are choosing to do as kind of these years of progressed and things evolved.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: We'll find out.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there are a lot of guys this year Max Claire, the tight end from Ohio State didn't do any testing.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Cating curry to I believe, right?
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: Cating curry exactly.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: Another guy, you know, and a lot of times when you're talking about guys, especially Cating Curry situation where he's going to be a late round pick and he's he's not testing.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's going to send up some red flex.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: Now, what happens is this is,
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: When you don't test at the combine, before the testing begins, players are medically checked out.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes, players will be medically excluded because of an ankle injury or hamstring injury, there's no medical testing that goes on at pro-day.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: So when a guy says, I can't run because I hurt my ankle or my hamstrings tight and I hurt my hamstring hamstring last week.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not gonna test.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: Teams don't have a way of backing that up with a medical.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I've noticed a lot of guys issue who have done no testing at all, obviously you've got to go back to the film and you know what happens is the teams make specifically with the 40 they have estimated times.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: Right, off the times they're way off, but they have estimated times and they will rely on those estimate times.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: Key on Crawford, the sort of undersized pasture from Auburn, interesting case.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's 64, 64, almost 64, 250 pounds.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: He was estimated to run a 4-8-1 in the 40.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: He never ran at the Combine, never ran at Pro Day.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: So now here's a smaller, undersized edge russia who doesn't run the 40, you don't have a tensed lid on them, you don't have a 40 time on them.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we small, you know, you're going to rely on the film and I like them on film, but the athleticism isn't there where do you draft the guy like that?
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: I know some teams that have a third rank rate on them.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: I know some teams that have a late day three grade on them because of that.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_02]: Um, none one player that's pretty much that a lot of Saints fans are interested in is Jordan Tyson out there.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's on the state he's supposed to be working out this this Friday.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I'm going to do a workout for NFL teams.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_02]: Showcase.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's been battling through his hamstring injury.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: What's your sense with him as far as where teams are with him?
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, I've got his been banged up a ton throughout his career finally gets to show something to teams.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: So what's the sense with him?
- 18:31[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like his range could be huge.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I guess I always thought it was crazy that people were mocking him in the top 10.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of, you know, early on, people thought he'd go number five, the judge, which I thought was insane.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: It reminded me of Cory Davis, and remember the receiver from Western Michigan, who was looking at the ground, fifth pick of the draft, Tennessee Titans, you know, I kind of compared it to that.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: I like Tyson, he's a terrific past catcher, he's focused, he's natural, he runs good
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: but he's not very big, he's not very fast.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: And when you're drafting a receiver that early, you need something that's set that he's gonna separate, you know, Travis Hunter, the game breaker that he was at the receiver position, although he's gonna play corner back this year, you need something that separates
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's a physically separate you from the rest of the group.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: I never saw that with Jordan Tyson.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: I never, and I talked to his people early on.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I said, you know, with the injuries and with everything else, I don't think he's demanding more than the mid-first round pick.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: And like you pointed out, the injuries have been persistent with this guy as I'm getting a phone call.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: We'll do that.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: The injuries have been persistent with this guy.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: Not just the season.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: If you remember, he missed it.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: I was on a state playoff game in the first round, who's I believe it's against Texas because he was in just so and that's going to be a big Scarlett letter around them coming to Raffday.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see him going.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: In the top half or round one, I think, you know, maybe Pittsburgh in the 20s, maybe Carolina, you know, at 19, the panthers who I think have done a great job in the in the offseason, but I don't see them in the top half or round one.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_01]: Could he fall to round two?
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like is there a chance he could slip to round two?
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be shocked.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be shocked because when you look at the bottom half around one, you look at, I mentioned the Panthers.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: I mentioned the Steelers.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Diego's take a receiver around one.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns, if they don't take a receiver with that first pick, the bills are still gonna look for a receiver.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: The Niners, there are more teams that need receivers that cheese in the bottom half around one
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: Um, one player that you were previously linking both the Niners and the Broncos before they traded for water was, we will receive a Chris Bell.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: We have talked about Chris Bell at Nazium on this podcast because both Chris Bell himself is started at the Combine, it's set out as pro-day, he is letting it known that he wants to be paired with Tyler Schuck in New Orleans and is basically trying to convince Chuck to convince the front all.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: like, but because he's coming off that injury for, you know, potentially, I guess what 42 would be the pick.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like, one were the chances that he's there at 42.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: And then secondly, what are you kind of hearing just in regards to just him overall as a player and how he's doing his recovery?
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: Can I believe you report that he's ahead of his, his schedule recovery?
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: I reported that in January this year when uh and there was talk then that he could land late in around one before KC conception and a couple of other oh more Cooper you know had declared and and really uh started to take off now.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: Where could he go?
- 21:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think right now I have him going 39 to the Browns because I don't have the Browns taking a receiver with either their first two picks.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: You look at the top of round two, the Jets, the Titans, the Raiders, the Giants, to a lesser extent the Texans, the Browns, even the Chiefs.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: These are all teams that need a receiver and depending on what they do in round one.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: Some of those teams, the chiefs and the jets have multiple picks around one.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: They could turn around and look at receiver like Chris Bell.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_00]: you know around to especially you know the raiders the raiders aren't going to win in 2020.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: So while you're developing Fernando Mendoza, why not bring a receiver talented receiver like a Chris Bell who you can be patient with because there's no urgency to win right away and get him into the mix.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_02]: That'd be fascinating.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_02]: I keep saying like Chris Bell at 42 everybody likes to do these mock draft simulators And Chris Bell is always there 42.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm always always.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't I don't see it I don't see it in reality.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_02]: I've seen two minute drafts We're the second round comes and then receivers just go flying off the blind Yeah, oh another guy we've talked about on the podcast was to drive McCoy out of 10 to see just a guy that
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: where you look at his talent, just fits what the Saints like, and we just can't shit the feeling that he would be a guy that the Saints could fall in love with, even as early as eight, but that would be crazy to me with him missing like a whole season.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: But what are NFL teams taking about him, about your right and core?
- 23:40[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think he quelled some of those concerns with the four three eight he ran a pro day.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's got it on upside.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think the fact of the matter is is if Jermad McCoy had played in 2025 and played as expected, he's a lock top 10 pick.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's the first, very likely the first corner back off the board.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: He's got, he's got the shooting better size than Montsour de Laine.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's physical and I like months or delaying a lot, but he's got a lot of physical attributes, which gives him an edge of a delaying.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: So he's probably Jumad McCoy the first corner back taken if he was healthy and played that being the case.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to corner back number two, but I don't think he's going to go far after Montsour de Lane because of the fact that, you know, corner back is a priority position on draft weekend.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: They go much higher than expected and he's got great upside plus the fact is this, you know, we talked about Chris Bell.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: Jumama Cois injury was 11 months before Chris Bell's.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean it was January, 2025.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: So there's no question he'll be ready.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: It'll be ready for campus.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's got to get himself into football shape.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: yeah, it's great point.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: The last one I had Tony is we kind of wrapped this up and again, thank you so much for joining us and doing this every year as always.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: Just who are your, I guess if you give two players that maybe you, one player that you're higher on just like your guy doesn't have to be like a round one guy.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: Just any guy that you're just higher on that you think just going to work out in the league and then maybe another player where maybe the consensus is higher of what you may actually think about that set player.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: I like a manual pregnant of Oregon a lot.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a plug and play type of offensive while I'm in the guard from Oregon.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_00]: He is a punch in the mouth type of guy.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: He was good at USC.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: He was better at Oregon.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: He's a guy who is a moller on the line of screen image.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's very effective on the second level.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_00]: So here's a guy who maybe goes late first round.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: probably goes the top of the second round.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be starting as a rookie.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: I've never been sold on a manual McNeil Warren.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_00]: I know a lot of people love him.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: I know he's got some great stats.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's got the decent size, but to me he's more opportunistic than he is a refined, talented defensive back without standing ball skills.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think there may be some bumps in the row with him plus he's not really super fast.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's fast enough,
- 26:13[SPEAKER_00]: defense of backs in the NFL concerned.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: Hmm, that's interesting.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, guess my, my last one, you, you're pretty plugged in with the jets.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: Um, it looks like David Bailey is a lot at two.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't gotten.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't heard.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure I will later this week.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm leaning towards Arville Reese.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this seems between one of those two work.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm leaning towards Arville.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: Reese, so I think can do more things.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: I like David Bailey, but Arville Reese can rest the pasture plus he's, you know, much better off bowl linebacker.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think,
- 26:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm thinking right now, that's the way it's going to go.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Bailey goes to Arizona.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_00]: Jeremiah, love could go to Arizona.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think that would be a good fit.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: But you know, the interesting thing is, as opposed to years past, we all know that Fernando Mendoza's going number one.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: And really, the drama starts with the second selection, which is the way the league wants it.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's the like, the jets in the cart, like I think the cartinals are like the most interesting team in the entire top 10 because they need so much and it's just impossible to get a read of like they could go off as a lime and they could go germ out of love they could go past it, they, it's just it's a huge range of where they could go and so those picks at two and three are really gonna really shape the rest of the top 10 of the draft.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: Well and you know, the cartinals with the defensive line
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: with the offensive line you know the good the saint can't really drafting offensive line and you know with early picks yet they always seem to need them you look at the carno's excuse me you look at their last pit pass six seven drafts they've drafted defensive line and then they're still need them I mean personally and I know this is starting to build some there's a narrative building I think they should take Jeremiah
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: that they signed a rotational guy, a tallyal, out here in the U.S. season.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you don't know, Jacobi Bersetch, a quarterback, you do have an offensive minded head coach now that was hired in the U.S. season.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it's a situation where
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's the, uh, Jeremiah loves is one of the top three players in this draft, you know, opposed to say taking an offensive tackle, uh, right tackle, which would be a massive reach as far as, uh, concern, third pick.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I think a underrated thing about maybe then taking love at three is like, in theory, like, that's a nice, like, sells advertising, like, putting him on the season tickets, putting him on the, on the mantra outside of the stadium, like, don't, like, I don't think people, like, regular people understand how sometimes, like, that does play into the mind of, like, owners when they're making these draft selections in these picks.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: It games a year in a warm weather, nice weather stadium, you know, conference that's relatively good weather.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_00]: Why not?
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: We, it's going to be fascinating to see how it plays out.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: We will love to potential to get you back on for a post draft show after the Saints have made their selection so we can talk about what the draft class ends up being.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: As always, Tony, we appreciate you so much for joining us every year and everyone who is listening and watching, appreciate the love and support and with that we are out.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: Pigs.
