- 0:06Welcome to Have Faith. Let it begin. Here's your host, Angel Santana.
- 0:13Ariel, can you say, have faith? Let it begin. Let it begin? Let it begin. Say, have faith.
- 0:21Let it begin. Let it begin. No. No? No? Okay. Hi, Noah. Noah! Noah!
- 0:30Happy birthday, Noah! Okay, then. I'm so lazy.
- 0:36Noah.
- 0:38Noah. This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shy.
- 0:44This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shy.
- 0:48This little light of ray. I'm gonna let it shy. Let it shy.
- 0:54Let it shy. Let it shy. Yes, yes.
- 1:00Daddy, I'm so excited, but I have one question. What's your question?
- 1:04Are you going to be a pastor or a minister?
- 1:07Good question. I don't know, but it is all in God's hands. Good morning.
- 1:12You're listening to Have Faith Let It Begin, and it starts right now.
- 1:17Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Have Faith Let It Begin.
- 1:20Today, I want to talk to you about something that many of us have struggled with, test anxiety.
- 1:26For some of you, it happens in school. It happens in school exams.
- 1:31For others, it happens in the tests of everyday life.
- 1:35Big decisions, right? Challenges at work or choices about the future.
- 1:40Anxiety is real, but so is God's presence in the middle of it.
- 1:45When I was in high school, I didn't understand why every time I'd take a test,
- 1:49my hands would get sweaty, my stomach would turn, and I would start to panic about time.
- 1:56I would second-guess myself consistently. I'd change my answers,
- 2:02only to later find out that my first instincts, the ones I erased,
- 2:08had been correct all along.
- 2:11Even in college, it didn't go away. I'd overstudy, I'd get nervous.
- 2:17Before a test, it felt like I had a knot in my stomach. One of my professors
- 2:23noticed and said something that changed everything.
- 2:28Take your time. I know you know these answers.
- 2:31Then he gave me a verbal test. And guess what? I was able to articulate everything perfectly.
- 2:38Another professor in psychology did the same thing, allowing me to speak my
- 2:43answers instead of freezing up on paper.
- 2:48And then there was my social economics professor. He really understood everything
- 2:53and found a way to cure me.
- 2:55He pulled a trick that I'd never forget.
- 2:59You see, one day when the quiz was allowed to be handed out,
- 3:03he leaned over to me and handed the paper.
- 3:07And I noticed immediately there was red ink on the top.
- 3:11It said 97%. Great job.
- 3:14And it was written in red at the top, even before I started.
- 3:17He leaned in and whispered, no matter how bad you do, I'm still going to give you a 97%.
- 3:26So take your time, relax, and take the test. You know what happened, right?
- 3:33I relaxed and I got a hundred.
- 3:37That day I realized something.
- 3:40Anxiety wasn't about what I knew. It was about the fear of failing.
- 3:46And when someone took away that fear, I could shine,
- 3:50Not every professor would do that But I thank God for the ones who saw me and
- 3:55understood me And I also realize that God Himself does this for us in life He
- 4:01says, I know you I know what you're capable of,
- 4:05I'm with you Take your time,
- 4:09Philippians 4, verses 6-7 It says, Do not be anxious about anything But in every
- 4:16situation by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
- 4:20present your request to God, and the peace of God, which transcends all understandings,
- 4:25will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ, your name.
- 4:32God doesn't promise us a life without tests, but he does promise us peace.
- 4:40He does promise us his peace when we face them.
- 4:44Maybe your anxiety isn't about school tests. It may be more about a job interview,
- 4:49a medical report, or a tough decision you have to make today.
- 4:53Whatever it is, God wants to remind you. I'm grading you differently.
- 4:59I've already given you grace. I know you.
- 5:03I love you and take your time. Trust in me.
- 5:08Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you for your thank you for your being
- 5:12with us in every season of life, including the moments that make us anxious.
- 5:17Lord, I lift up every listener who struggles with anxiety, whether it's over
- 5:21school exam, work, deadlines, or the pressures of daily life.
- 5:27Remind them, Lord, that they are not defined by performance, but by their love.
- 5:33Grant them peace in their hearts, clarity in their minds, and confidence in
- 5:37the abilities that you've given them.
- 5:39Help us all to lean on you in moments of fear, and to trust that you are walking every step of the way.
- 5:51In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
- 5:54Now, as I always say, stay safe, remember that you matter, and never forget,
- 6:00have faith, let it begin. See you tomorrow.
