- 0:45Speaker 1: with Jordan's show like that's a unique kind of I
- 0:49Speaker 1: don't know. It took some effort because some ships don't
- 0:54Speaker 1: come with white lady either both of white ones took
- 0:59Speaker 1: the lake is out and dished them, or he purposefully
- 1:02Speaker 1: went and bought white laces and dished the black laces.
- 1:05Speaker 2: But either way, that's.
- 1:06Speaker 1: A whole lot of some blacks. Man.
- 1:10Speaker 4: But that's just a staple man, That's.

- 2:36Speaker 4: For sure. Shout out to Jamar. Let's say your name, Yeah,
- 2:42Speaker 4: my brother.
- 2:45Speaker 2: And everybody.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Keys Key's gonna call me. He was playing street ball
- 2:51Speaker 1: the other day. He's called me.
- 2:53Speaker 2: He was like, oh no, no, no, no, my nigga back
- 2:55Speaker 2: play street ball. I'm like, I got you man about
- 3:01Speaker 2: keith Man for sure. Man, listen, we appreciate you. Oall
- 3:04Speaker 2: slide on this man. It gets firstly into it, man,
- 3:07Speaker 2: what made you both start making music?
- 3:09Speaker 1: What was your inspiration?
- 3:10Speaker 2: Who was some people I looked up too early on
- 3:12Speaker 2: to kind of molded Joe sound of how I wanted
- 3:14Speaker 2: to get to it.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I guess I'll leave that, uh Man. Chris Cross is
- 3:20Speaker 1: who made me want to be a rapper, want, you know,
- 3:24Speaker 1: being a I don't know how much older they are
- 3:26Speaker 1: than I am. When I first seen them, you know,
- 3:29Speaker 1: it was a fucking you know, it was a marvel
- 3:31Speaker 1: to see kids rapping. So of course I know I
- 3:38Speaker 1: gained the inspiration to become a rapper. I thought I
- 3:41Speaker 1: would become a rapper right then, which I'm glad I didn't,
- 3:44Speaker 1: because what I had to rap about then wasn't worth
- 3:47Speaker 1: Uh wasn't worth me rapping about in the first place.
- 3:51Speaker 1: But that's where it started, you know, the idea or
- 3:54Speaker 1: the passion. I think it grew from that to see
- 3:57Speaker 1: that kids could do it, and it ain't really started
- 4:00Speaker 1: working out for me too, you know, mid twenties. But
- 4:03Speaker 1: you know, I think, you know, it's like it happens
- 4:07Speaker 1: how it happens, you know, the you know, things had
- 4:10Speaker 1: to take place in order for me to be in
- 4:12Speaker 1: the right space and I think not to be arrogant
- 4:15Speaker 1: and amount of but I they had to grow to
- 4:18Speaker 1: become an artist, and you know, but that's where it started.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Once I seen them, it was a light bulb. I
- 4:24Speaker 1: couldn't them for sure.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Yeah, it was probably ice Cube Snoop Dogg earlier like
- 4:29Speaker 5: West Coast, West Coast, but oh, lifestyle aesthetic O like
- 4:35Speaker 5: just you know, being a little kid and seeing that
- 4:37Speaker 5: this thing that was cool and imagery from the movies
- 4:40Speaker 5: and all that a little lighter probably the hot Boys
- 4:43Speaker 5: for show the next thing or like that was the
- 4:46Speaker 5: time period when I probably started rapping.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Before then, I just thought, you know, rappers were cool
- 4:51Speaker 4: or whatever.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Yeah, by the times in high schools like wanting to
- 4:55Speaker 5: want some money, you know, I want to look like
- 4:57Speaker 5: it and et cetera. And the when I actually started rapping,
- 5:01Speaker 5: it was like more lyrical rappers that kind of got
- 5:04Speaker 5: my attention to Jay the Kids, Fab East Coast, DJ
- 5:08Speaker 5: Clue mixtapes. But it was still you know, the hog
- 5:12Speaker 5: Boys and Wayne the squad Up e was probably like
- 5:15Speaker 5: the biggest influence at the time that I started rapping.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Damn. Yeah, when Wayne turned into a whole different kind of.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Rapper, that's crazy. You said squad up taps. People forget
- 5:26Speaker 2: how fired and squad up types. That was before the
- 5:29Speaker 2: dedications do your research for show. Yeah, man, first of all,
- 5:34Speaker 2: we we're gonna get to the music. But guying that, man,
- 5:37Speaker 2: we put up to the game. I know y'all both
- 5:38Speaker 2: love basketball. What's your first thought process when you see
- 5:42Speaker 2: Luca and Lebron on the same damn team, Because that's.
- 5:47Speaker 1: It's still surreal to this point. I just watched the game,
- 5:49Speaker 1: still crazy.
- 5:49Speaker 2: When I walked in, I was like, them tickets so damn.
- 5:54Speaker 5: But it was I mean, I'm like, you know, to
- 5:56Speaker 5: legendary players, like really almost a generational part. Yeah, seeing
- 6:01Speaker 5: him on the same team like that, it's like, damn,
- 6:03Speaker 5: I still don't know how they pulled that out.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's where I think when I see that, I really,
- 6:09Speaker 1: you know, what's really going on? Highway ropper something.
- 6:13Speaker 5: It's also interesting to see Lebron the fight to somebody
- 6:17Speaker 5: like I ain't you know, Lebron never been I ain't
- 6:20Speaker 5: don't necessarily say, the second best player on the team,
- 6:22Speaker 5: but that's kind of a rolly player, and that's that's different.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I never thought about that because he was chilling the
- 6:28Speaker 2: whole game, chilling two points vacation.
- 6:33Speaker 1: He was killing.
- 6:33Speaker 5: At first, he was crazy, but it was a few
- 6:36Speaker 5: times he really like motioning for Luca, like come get
- 6:39Speaker 5: the ball, like you got it. H I say, Lebron
- 6:42Speaker 5: play off here like three or four times. I ain't
- 6:44Speaker 5: never looked like that.
- 6:45Speaker 1: She did that when I was playing. They got the
- 6:50Speaker 1: ball every time.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Wasn't the fill see them winning the chip? I was
- 6:56Speaker 2: thinking that too, like the roll player stuff like man,
- 7:01Speaker 2: boy Hayes, look and uh, what's doing.
- 7:06Speaker 4: They getting shots like that?
- 7:09Speaker 1: Time got some bodies, they got a chance out to do,
- 7:14Speaker 1: got a chance.
- 7:15Speaker 2: It was definitely you know your basketball man, your man
- 7:19Speaker 2: coaching head coach T s U. How is that man
- 7:22Speaker 2: girl with your party? Now he leading men at the university.
- 7:24Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying around the way.
- 7:25Speaker 4: He just called me sure, he said, y'all got a point?
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I swear that's funny as hell. Yeah college yeah yesterday.
- 7:38Speaker 5: Yeah, like that's I mentioned him twice in that song
- 7:43Speaker 5: because like that's one of the you know, my partners
- 7:47Speaker 5: since middle school. He wanted a few people like still
- 7:50Speaker 5: getting paid off basketball for us that came up together
- 7:53Speaker 5: and it was all our dreaming one time, like he's
- 7:55Speaker 5: still living and uh so that's real.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I mean I went to T.
- 7:59Speaker 6: S U.
- 8:00Speaker 4: So it was just super cool.
- 8:02Speaker 5: You know, you have the long time school asubce you,
- 8:06Speaker 5: you know, sending some records, tennis records and everything else,
- 8:10Speaker 5: job security and otherwise.
- 8:12Speaker 4: It's I'm just proud of them. That's why I like
- 8:15Speaker 4: to see your hoops, both of y'all hoop.
- 8:19Speaker 1: No, I never really been able to get along with people.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Uh look what I'm saying, Mama said, even when I try,
- 8:33Speaker 1: I try to try to go like try out for
- 8:37Speaker 1: basketball team. Hell no, Mama, why she said, you don't
- 8:40Speaker 1: get get you know, you don't play well with others,
- 8:43Speaker 1: and I didn't you know, but I was an angry kid. Yeah,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I had a lot going on. Basketball wasn't gonna work.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I would have probably been like, you know, run our tests,
- 8:59Speaker 1: Draymond Graen, No, it's been going stand.
- 9:04Speaker 4: He was a real crash out.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it was.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Like the mid times.
- 9:15Speaker 1: It be shipped like I don't know how. I don't
- 9:18Speaker 1: know how how accurate or how often it happens, like
- 9:21Speaker 1: when I see like basketball films and I see that
- 9:24Speaker 1: like the I don't know what the y'all call it,
- 9:27Speaker 1: know that the rookie treatment ship hold another nigga bagh
- 9:32Speaker 1: man to be so many niggas on team with black guys.
- 9:37Speaker 1: We get to the game we got you know, we
- 9:39Speaker 1: gotta catch the bus when we get there. I don't
- 9:42Speaker 1: be the only niggas suit up the mother. But you know,
- 9:49Speaker 1: when I realized I couldn't do no, I couldn't be
- 9:54Speaker 1: a team player in that aspect. Yeah, you know, sports
- 9:57Speaker 1: ain't gonna be for me. I can't you know, ain't
- 9:59Speaker 1: no work for me. I'm ready to fight, you know.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I don't know how to do the I don't not
- 10:04Speaker 1: take orders and I don't respect seniority when it's you know,
- 10:08Speaker 1: I don't know that ship. It just don't work.
- 10:10Speaker 3: I just talked about that on the show earlier today,
- 10:13Speaker 3: like that respect your elder ship is overrated.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I don't know, you're gonna have to. If you don't
- 10:18Speaker 1: give it, you ain't getting it back exactly. You know.
- 10:21Speaker 1: And when I was little, when I when I was
- 10:24Speaker 1: a kid, I don't know what kind of like I said,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I had a lot going on, a really matter. If
- 10:28Speaker 1: he was bigger than me, I might lose the fight,
- 10:31Speaker 1: but I'm gonna give you a fight. So you know,
- 10:35Speaker 1: basketball won't don't work out like you know, he won't
- 10:40Speaker 1: start you know, Yeah, we ain't got to the game.
- 10:47Speaker 1: It's gonna have There's gonna be some fights in practice,
- 10:50Speaker 1: locker room, all this. It's a lot of ship. I
- 10:52Speaker 1: just you know, I never really been able to tolerate,
- 10:55Speaker 1: so I ain't really got you know, even now, I
- 10:58Speaker 1: don't got many friends. The friends I got, I know
- 11:01Speaker 1: since I was ten and eleven. Shot know, IM created
- 11:04Speaker 1: like like fifteen years now. But you know, I don't know,
- 11:09Speaker 1: I just don't work well. We'll play well with those
- 11:13Speaker 1: So I was gonna work out way, gotcha I played
- 11:19Speaker 1: high school you and.
- 11:21Speaker 5: I wasn't trying to go to small schools. I was
- 11:24Speaker 5: looking at me. I stayed at home.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Oh then he thought he was all start.
- 11:31Speaker 2: I was like going to like the bottom of.
- 11:34Speaker 1: My eyes, I'm doing this.
- 11:37Speaker 4: So what you had like some D twos or something
- 11:38Speaker 4: looking at it was.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Like D twos D three. I had a couple of looks.
- 11:42Speaker 5: But I remember I think Tennessee Tech one of the
- 11:46Speaker 5: coaches kind of hot led me.
- 11:47Speaker 4: I was hyped solid.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I'm trying to tell you what.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Going to coach's office, they looking at him Ship on
- 11:54Speaker 5: hype And the first thing the coach asked.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Me was like, you know the Marco pope out the market.
- 12:00Speaker 5: He was missed the basketball from my way. I was
- 12:04Speaker 5: like yeah, like why, Like basically was like, Ship, we recruit.
- 12:07Speaker 1: You, you can help us get him, and said yeah.
- 12:20Speaker 5: And t s U coach at the time was Nolan
- 12:22Speaker 5: Richardson third maybe Arkansas coach his son uh he was
- 12:29Speaker 5: at a tournament and his son the fourth played in
- 12:32Speaker 5: high school the same time and I dunked on the sun.
- 12:35Speaker 4: You know, we knew each other, but it was over with.
- 12:39Speaker 2: You know. That's why I wanted to play the gate.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Yeah, you fucked up your chance.
- 12:48Speaker 5: That was like a rival and you like locally or whatever.
- 12:52Speaker 5: So after that, I skipped the great and ship. I
- 12:54Speaker 5: graduated young and it was.
- 12:57Speaker 2: That's that's why we think we all can relate to
- 13:00Speaker 2: y'all music, because y'all talk about stuff that like seemed
- 13:03Speaker 2: like around our area, Like you talk about wrestling and ship.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, And I'm like, damn.
- 13:08Speaker 2: When I first started listening to that, I'm like, then
- 13:09Speaker 2: they wrap about everything I grew up watching and doing's
- 13:13Speaker 2: like I'm thirty six, Yeah, we ain't the fun when
- 13:17Speaker 2: right by y'all, I turned forward it this ship. Yeah,
- 13:19Speaker 2: but y'all said all that ship, Like when y'all was
- 13:21Speaker 2: talking about like Randy Savage, give me Undertaker cast and
- 13:24Speaker 2: all that ship, I was like, yeah, I'm tapped in.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Because that's when I first started listening because my brother
- 13:30Speaker 1: then was like you tripping because you rapped like you
- 13:33Speaker 1: talking wrap you talking like.
- 13:36Speaker 2: That's the whole beauty and keep chilling you like these
- 13:40Speaker 2: hype ass And I'm like this ship cold hard. So
- 13:44Speaker 2: I started listening and they put me on shout out
- 13:46Speaker 2: to my brother to real man show, you know, shout
- 13:49Speaker 2: out the big bro man. Obviously y'all had Christal I
- 13:52Speaker 2: got to show. What was the first time y'all linked up,
- 13:54Speaker 2: y'all first, like, all right, I kind of fun with
- 13:56Speaker 2: him type ship.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Listen my time hard.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Like twenty ten, okay, that's twenty ten on no dates
- 14:04Speaker 2: and stuff.
- 14:05Speaker 4: We like formally met through y'all.
- 14:06Speaker 5: Got it, actually got him, you know, I was in
- 14:10Speaker 5: business with him and he was like looking to work
- 14:13Speaker 5: with trip when he was coming up, and kind of
- 14:17Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying, play stuff around each other.
- 14:19Speaker 5: But we started working kind of on our own within that.
- 14:24Speaker 5: Craig can tell.
- 14:25Speaker 1: You, yeah, we just I was on the road we
- 14:28Speaker 1: got it and he had he had to stop in Nashville,
- 14:31Speaker 1: and I don't know what the hell God had to do.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I don't really like, uh, I don't like tagging along
- 14:38Speaker 1: when ship don't got nothing to do with me. I'm
- 14:43Speaker 1: just saying, you know, he was on the side question
- 14:46Speaker 1: not quite you know, and got it, had ship going on,
- 14:52Speaker 1: he had business to tend to. I ain't want to
- 14:54Speaker 1: be the nigga shitting watching him do what he got
- 14:58Speaker 1: to do. I want to be along for the part
- 15:00Speaker 1: of this that involves me. But certain shit didn't involve me. So, like,
- 15:04Speaker 1: you know, God is going to go do a verse
- 15:07Speaker 1: for so and so they might be in the fucking
- 15:10Speaker 1: studio five hours. I'm just gonna be a nigga sitting
- 15:12Speaker 1: in the studio. I don't smoke on drink, so I'm
- 15:14Speaker 1: gonna be a nigga sitting in the studio like this.
- 15:19Speaker 1: So when you know, whatever he was going to do,
- 15:22Speaker 1: you know, it was in that kind of you know,
- 15:24Speaker 1: he wasn't doing nothing that I needed to learn from
- 15:27Speaker 1: or watch. So while it was doing that, I think
- 15:32Speaker 1: Stenham had lined up a verse for another one of
- 15:36Speaker 1: got his artists. So I was like, all right, I know,
- 15:38Speaker 1: I'll rather with y'all then. So I had no idea
- 15:42Speaker 1: what he was going to lead those studios. When we
- 15:44Speaker 1: got to lead those studio, he set them up to
- 15:47Speaker 1: do the feature fast forward, said he. I don't know
- 15:50Speaker 1: how he did it, but that was our first time
- 15:52Speaker 1: meeting each other. And at some point his people came
- 15:56Speaker 1: down and told me, you know, a guy wanted to
- 15:58Speaker 1: buy a verse for me. I'm like, man, I don't
- 16:00Speaker 1: you know, I don't I don't know anybody in here.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I just met him. So when I you know, later
- 16:04Speaker 1: on that night I found out that Star pretty much
- 16:08Speaker 1: was the person that convinced you to to get that.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I don't remember who the hell it was. It got
- 16:12Speaker 1: the worse, but we was on the road and what
- 16:15Speaker 1: I was doing for you know, my my profession at
- 16:21Speaker 1: the moment, well at that moment, I couldn't do that traveling,
- 16:25Speaker 1: so you know, my pockets was a little light. He
- 16:27Speaker 1: couldn't have knew, you know that that that that me
- 16:30Speaker 1: getting some bread right then was you know, that ship
- 16:33Speaker 1: was like oxygen. So him lining that up, they kind
- 16:37Speaker 1: of on, They kind of changed my perspective of who
- 16:41Speaker 1: he was. You know, again, it was my first time
- 16:43Speaker 1: meeting him that day and all the way up until then,
- 16:46Speaker 1: me being only familiar with his music, but being familiar
- 16:50Speaker 1: with rappers, I had to was preconceived, preconceived notion that
- 16:56Speaker 1: he'd be more like rappers when you meet you know,
- 16:59Speaker 1: I can't speak for everybody, but when you meet rappers,
- 17:02Speaker 1: some rappers don't turn the rappers shit off, like you know,
- 17:05Speaker 1: you can tell that you know you're acting, I don't.
- 17:07Speaker 1: You know, I don't need to the camera version of you.
- 17:09Speaker 1: I need the real version of you. And for me,
- 17:11Speaker 1: so many and it still happens even to this day.
- 17:14Speaker 1: But that's how that's how I assume star would be.
- 17:18Speaker 1: So when I met him, you know, I you know,
- 17:20Speaker 1: I met him, I was doing so, you know, I
- 17:21Speaker 1: and I went back downstairs. So later on, after you know,
- 17:25Speaker 1: finding out, he lined their vers so for me and
- 17:27Speaker 1: we said we rapped for a second, not we said
- 17:30Speaker 1: and we talked for a second. And you know, I
- 17:34Speaker 1: think that was the the thing that made me have
- 17:37Speaker 1: to be a little more open minded because I'm like,
- 17:40Speaker 1: you know, I assumed he was this kind of guy
- 17:42Speaker 1: and he's the total opposite. So he's made me some bread.
- 17:45Speaker 1: He made nothing off of it, and he had no
- 17:47Speaker 1: there was nothing invested in it for him. He had
- 17:50Speaker 1: to have just you know, fuck with me for you know,
- 17:53Speaker 1: he had to have done that just because he fucked
- 17:55Speaker 1: with me as an artist, because he don't know me
- 17:56Speaker 1: as a person. So from that, you know, I think,
- 17:59Speaker 1: you know, they gave me the I don't know, like
- 18:02Speaker 1: I said, I don't work well with others. So that
- 18:04Speaker 1: was I guess that was like the olive branch, so
- 18:06Speaker 1: to speak. And he couldn't have known that, but that
- 18:09Speaker 1: was the you know, the gestion that made me say,
- 18:11Speaker 1: you know, he's a cool dude. You know, I get
- 18:15Speaker 1: you know, get to nor him and see see where
- 18:17Speaker 1: this goes for sure?
- 18:18Speaker 2: For sure? All right, man, before we go to be
- 18:21Speaker 2: here sometime, get some drinks up in here.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I don't know what my guy.
- 18:26Speaker 2: That's freaking out. You gotta you gotta figure out what
- 18:28Speaker 2: that means. Sometimes big a couple of things. Barbie, what's happening?
- 18:31Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 18:32Speaker 1: What you got for us today?
- 18:35Speaker 4: Okay?
- 18:37Speaker 1: What's in the black bearry and blue bearry?
- 18:41Speaker 2: Okay?
- 18:43Speaker 1: What's up? What? No?
- 18:46Speaker 2: No, no, I don't know what you saying? The mop tail,
- 18:57Speaker 2: I guess, but it was record time. But about say she.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Was she was on c flip k.
- 19:11Speaker 4: She got to get out of here staying around.
- 19:21Speaker 7: You look for a little chair right shop it up?
- 19:30Speaker 7: Moving on?
- 19:37Speaker 1: So what was that moment y'all knew y'all was gonna
- 19:38Speaker 1: collade and work together.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I was gonna get to that.
- 19:43Speaker 5: It was not right away necessarily that first session, but
- 19:47Speaker 5: even proudly then, like from the first.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Things I heard, like like you said, I rock with it.
- 19:54Speaker 5: I saw promising and I felt like it without knowing them,
- 19:57Speaker 5: I felt like it was going somewhere with it and.
- 19:59Speaker 2: We started working. It was like right away, like one
- 20:04Speaker 2: it was.
- 20:04Speaker 5: It was effortless for him and I just I took
- 20:08Speaker 5: to like the just the new like fresh energy of
- 20:11Speaker 5: because when we met, I probably was like five six
- 20:13Speaker 5: years in the game. I think signed a deal like
- 20:16Speaker 5: five years before then, So I was damn there at
- 20:19Speaker 5: the point almost like turning the corner finally, like a
- 20:23Speaker 5: second win almost and trying to figure the shit out
- 20:25Speaker 5: outside of having a deal Finn to go on my own,
- 20:30Speaker 5: and he was getting a deal, so it was like
- 20:32Speaker 5: part of it for me was like paying it forward,
- 20:35Speaker 5: Like it wasn't like big homie kind of times.
- 20:37Speaker 4: We really look about the same age.
- 20:39Speaker 5: But more so I'm like, man if I can, if
- 20:41Speaker 5: I can help Bro skip some steps so not make
- 20:44Speaker 5: the same mistakes I made or any of that. That's
- 20:47Speaker 5: why I kind of felt like it was almost like.
- 20:50Speaker 2: A roller was due to play.
- 20:51Speaker 5: But as far as making music, it was just effortless,
- 20:55Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying. The first couple of songs
- 20:56Speaker 5: we did, it was like one he just like killing
- 21:01Speaker 5: the ship right away.
- 21:02Speaker 4: But it was also like the first.
- 21:05Speaker 5: Time I kind of met my match or met my
- 21:08Speaker 5: equals as far as on just a like talent skill level,
- 21:12Speaker 5: and like, man, this nigga can rap like for word
- 21:14Speaker 5: for word kind of thing.
- 21:15Speaker 4: So and it wasn't.
- 21:17Speaker 5: It wasn't like a competitive like you know what I'm
- 21:20Speaker 5: saying looking over your shoulder. It was more like complimentary.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I was going to ask you because, like I said,
- 21:27Speaker 1: all my friends listen to it. So we used to battle.
- 21:29Speaker 2: We used to wrap your ship and be battering, like, nah,
- 21:32Speaker 2: he beat him here. Did y'all feel like that? I
- 21:35Speaker 2: know you just said it wasn't competitive, But did y'all
- 21:37Speaker 2: feel like that? Like I played my little brother one
- 21:40Speaker 2: on one all the time competitive We family though, at
- 21:42Speaker 2: the end of the dying each other to get better.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Like was it like that for your Nah?
- 21:47Speaker 2: I don't.
- 21:47Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Like that's and I think that's probably why we're still
- 21:51Speaker 5: rocking fifteen years later.
- 21:53Speaker 4: Rap groups don't last.
- 21:54Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 21:55Speaker 1: You can kind of run down the list, like I
- 21:57Speaker 1: think what happens is we we might have like favorite verses,
- 22:02Speaker 1: like you know, I would say for every song, I
- 22:05Speaker 1: probably got a favorite verse, But all those favorite verses
- 22:09Speaker 1: ain't mine. If they're making any sense. You know, I could,
- 22:12Speaker 1: it could be a particular record, and I really fucked
- 22:15Speaker 1: with his verse, and like you said, you know I should.
- 22:21Speaker 1: It's I don't know, because it's not a competition any
- 22:25Speaker 1: shape form of fashion, like if you ever sat in
- 22:28Speaker 1: a session, or any person that's ever sat in a
- 22:30Speaker 1: session like wet even on that kind of time, like
- 22:35Speaker 1: when we started working, we're working in unison, and we
- 22:39Speaker 1: might speak to each other about where we're going, depending
- 22:43Speaker 1: on you know, what kind of record it is. But
- 22:45Speaker 1: for the most part, our verses all wrote at the
- 22:48Speaker 1: same time. So when he going to the booth to
- 22:51Speaker 1: do his, I'm going to do mine or vice versus
- 22:54Speaker 1: whoever's first or whatever order. Most of the time, I,
- 22:58Speaker 1: you know, our verses of that pretty much at the
- 23:01Speaker 1: same time. Or I might be well, one of us
- 23:03Speaker 1: might be closing the verse and the other one just
- 23:06Speaker 1: finished and go in and record it. And we like
- 23:10Speaker 1: to at least when it happens, I believe, and just
- 23:13Speaker 1: let it shit flow naturally. So if I'm writing my
- 23:16Speaker 1: verse and he says something in in his verse while
- 23:18Speaker 1: he recorded nine times out of ten, I you know,
- 23:22Speaker 1: I'm probably at the end of the verse. But either way,
- 23:23Speaker 1: if he said something that inspired me to say something,
- 23:26Speaker 1: or if I like the line he said, you know,
- 23:28Speaker 1: we will repeat the line you know where it came from,
- 23:30Speaker 1: or sometimes you don't. We don't much care because what
- 23:33Speaker 1: we're doing, you know, we both fully aware of what
- 23:36Speaker 1: we're trying to build. I want you to like the song.
- 23:38Speaker 1: I don't want you to like a verse from the song,
- 23:41Speaker 1: so you know, when we're doing the shit, we ain't really.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I think it's competitive in a sense, but not so much.
- 23:48Speaker 1: You know, we don't see it and say, oh man,
- 23:50Speaker 1: I gotta get well sometimes but that happened, But that
- 23:55Speaker 1: happens on features. Sometimes people will get a verse from
- 23:59Speaker 1: both of us. Just seldom, but they get a verse
- 24:02Speaker 1: from both of us. And it's only a select few
- 24:06Speaker 1: people will allow to get both of us on the
- 24:09Speaker 1: song because we feel like, you know, that's lending our brand.
- 24:13Speaker 1: But when it happens, most times, I don't know the
- 24:17Speaker 1: stars on the song. So when it happened, you know,
- 24:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna just do what I do and then create.
- 24:25Speaker 1: It's having a few times great com like they didn't
- 24:28Speaker 1: tell me you was the verse on it, du.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Like I know you was on it for the bars
- 24:34Speaker 2: on the.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Sometimes take over.
- 24:39Speaker 2: But you know, but other than that, we know when
- 24:42Speaker 2: we creating, especially like step Brothers music, whenever we create
- 24:47Speaker 2: music that's step Brothers, we do it in person, so
- 24:51Speaker 2: you know, I'm fully aware they you know that he
- 24:54Speaker 2: on the record.
- 24:57Speaker 5: It's like it's like still sharp and still it's more
- 25:00Speaker 5: more than yeah, you know, like you said, y'all play
- 25:03Speaker 5: one on one. It's like sparring in that sense, but
- 25:07Speaker 5: when we working, it ain't.
- 25:09Speaker 4: The end game is for you to feel to finish product.
- 25:12Speaker 5: So it's like, I mean, for sure, there's been times
- 25:15Speaker 5: I'm like, damn, you kill me, but that's like a
- 25:19Speaker 5: good thing that the song was better, and I'm supreme
- 25:24Speaker 5: to confident that when I go in and work with him,
- 25:26Speaker 5: I know what you're gonna do, so I can't step
- 25:29Speaker 5: or you know, I know I'm gonna get smashed on
- 25:31Speaker 5: the song. So it's more so that, like you know,
- 25:35Speaker 5: you you should want somebody to make you better.
- 25:37Speaker 1: That's a fun Definitely.
- 25:39Speaker 4: Sure.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I want to ask you this question because you said
- 25:41Speaker 2: when your first inception to meeting each other, you was
- 25:43Speaker 2: just like I've seen somebody position I can help, like
- 25:45Speaker 2: like he solid if I can help them skip a
- 25:47Speaker 2: couple of steps. Because I first heard you know what
- 25:49Speaker 2: I'm saying, great goops. That's first time I heard you
- 25:51Speaker 2: early back Chevy days. I was like, okay, he cold
- 25:54Speaker 2: so that he said time progressive. You's like, all right,
- 25:56Speaker 2: I learned. I'm gonna help you out being with the major,
- 25:59Speaker 2: being with other artists, and then having your own spot,
- 26:01Speaker 2: Like do you see somebody going into that situation? Both
- 26:03Speaker 2: of y'all obviously give a lot of respect for being
- 26:05Speaker 2: a great independent artists in your own right. I was
- 26:08Speaker 2: like to be like, Okay, I know what I've learned,
- 26:10Speaker 2: but I'm not gonna hear her what he going through
- 26:11Speaker 2: because I want him to still have his journey. But
- 26:13Speaker 2: I'm gonna still give you the game so you don't
- 26:14Speaker 2: make the mistakes, because we know this music industry could
- 26:16Speaker 2: be really, really crazy, and you the reason why I
- 26:19Speaker 2: start drinking and nasty and shit, Yeah, I'm on that grade.
- 26:24Speaker 2: You know.
- 26:26Speaker 1: That was that shit time.

- 27:40Speaker 5: You gotta be kind of like a messed up person
- 27:42Speaker 5: to be willing to watch somebody like like I said.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Mac the Simon states all through the same like same
- 27:49Speaker 4: things you went through.
- 27:49Speaker 5: So to me, at his breakthrough point, he had it
- 27:55Speaker 5: more together than I did. I was nineteen years old
- 27:57Speaker 5: making club crump music, trying to you know, when I
- 28:01Speaker 5: I get with cash money, it's like a dream come true.
- 28:03Speaker 5: Like I said, I was inspired by the Hot Boys
- 28:05Speaker 5: five years before that. I ain't start rapping it maybe
- 28:08Speaker 5: four years before that time. So I'm like it's whatever.
- 28:11Speaker 5: I'm just trying to get in where I fit in versus.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Like he got. He got in the game really more
- 28:17Speaker 2: so off of like emotion driven, like personal passion record
- 28:23Speaker 2: like and just like no frills.
- 28:25Speaker 5: It was like it wasn't about a single, It wasn't
- 28:29Speaker 5: about you know what I'm saying. It was it was
- 28:30Speaker 5: him just kind of being itself.
- 28:32Speaker 2: I'm like, damn, Like it was more so like on
- 28:36Speaker 2: the fan level, even like don't change that, don't let
- 28:39Speaker 2: the game change steer you away from that.
- 28:41Speaker 5: That's what works, that's what got you here kind of thing.
- 28:44Speaker 5: And I think it's just like I said, paying it
- 28:47Speaker 5: forward me. I believe in Carman and all this, so
- 28:50Speaker 5: I would want to golden rule like I would want
- 28:53Speaker 5: to do what I would have wanted somebody to, you know,
- 28:57Speaker 5: the game that I wish somebody would have gave me.
- 29:00Speaker 1: And like it was never like the irony.
- 29:02Speaker 5: We have made so much progress and history together, but
- 29:06Speaker 5: it was never about like trying to like make something
- 29:09Speaker 5: or get in on a situation.
- 29:10Speaker 2: It was like I met.
- 29:12Speaker 5: Him at a point where he had options, she could
- 29:14Speaker 5: have signed with him. Then it was a little bit
- 29:16Speaker 5: of everybody trying to rock with him. I was even
- 29:19Speaker 5: in a position where people was like, man, you should
- 29:21Speaker 5: get in. I'm like, no, I think, well, you know,
- 29:24Speaker 5: his trajectory is bigger than the help I could directly offer.
- 29:28Speaker 4: But that's Trually, I'd just rather be like in.
- 29:30Speaker 5: There's a lot of artists where like I met him
- 29:32Speaker 5: early on, I was around and whatever small part I
- 29:35Speaker 5: might have played, and they story, I'm like, I just
- 29:38Speaker 5: counted as like that's that's what's up.
- 29:41Speaker 1: I mean, it's a part of my legacy too.
- 29:42Speaker 4: I was there, I reach out to everybody too.
- 29:47Speaker 1: I don't have to know you. I think you know.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Many people don't respond. I just used That's really why
- 29:54Speaker 1: I used social media for so I've been feeling like
- 29:58Speaker 1: if if I know you, you you know about to
- 30:02Speaker 1: make a mistake, and I don't do nothing to prevent it,
- 30:05Speaker 1: then I feel like I'm at fault. I feel like
- 30:08Speaker 1: it's my fault you made that mistake. I don't know
- 30:12Speaker 1: how much since that that really makes, but.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 30:16Speaker 1: It almost seemed like a dude it, like I have
- 30:18Speaker 1: to say it. I got a du and you and say,
- 30:20Speaker 1: hey man, you know you got this in this movie
- 30:22Speaker 1: and you should maybe you know, do x Y and
- 30:25Speaker 1: Z or not do x Y and Z. And you know,
- 30:28Speaker 1: I try not to give people advice because you know,
- 30:31Speaker 1: my ship, my path wasn't perfect either, So I can't
- 30:34Speaker 1: tell you what wouldn't work or what won't work. But
- 30:37Speaker 1: I can tell you what I did and how it
- 30:39Speaker 1: went wrong. And you know you take from that what
- 30:42Speaker 1: you will, and you know you can make it make
- 30:43Speaker 1: sense for you. Then that's great. You know we can't
- 30:46Speaker 1: all dunk, so you know, not for sure.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Little I wanted to ask you, like, what's the benefits
- 30:53Speaker 3: of signing to a major though.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Spending somebody else money number one. Yeah, but on it back.
- 31:01Speaker 5: I mean, but that's if you don't I mean, if
- 31:05Speaker 5: you ain't got it like ship. Yeah, but uh, I
- 31:08Speaker 5: mean it's it's a lot of benefits to it, truthfully,
- 31:11Speaker 5: Like they moved a needle on stuff. Okay, So it's
- 31:17Speaker 5: a lot of relationships these companies and partnerships.
- 31:22Speaker 2: With each other, like back door type of type of situation.
- 31:26Speaker 5: So it's better to be on that side of the
- 31:29Speaker 5: things is moving, I guess tricks of the trade. But
- 31:32Speaker 5: like Trip said, like you know, whatever you're taking the
- 31:35Speaker 5: front end, you're gonna cop them something back the yeah.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Shout out to the shout out to the game.
- 31:43Speaker 3: I mean the thing now is just to be independent
- 31:45Speaker 3: in the rap game, and a lot of people go
- 31:47Speaker 3: into it with no education behind it.
- 31:49Speaker 4: And yeah not even at least bit.
- 31:54Speaker 1: But see, I think it's pros and cons to both sides,
- 31:59Speaker 1: and music just happens to be at least rap music.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I can't say music as a wholes, I don't have
- 32:07Speaker 1: experiencing other genres of it, but rap music don't get
- 32:11Speaker 1: no free requences. You know, you want to play ball,
- 32:14Speaker 1: you know, you gotta start ship, damn For elementary school,
- 32:17Speaker 1: you gotta do aau shits and you know you gotta
- 32:20Speaker 1: do all them camps and shit. But it's things in
- 32:23Speaker 1: place to teach you how to become you know, how
- 32:26Speaker 1: to play team ball, or how to adapt to it.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Even you know, as you progress to different levels of it.
- 32:32Speaker 1: You know, when you get to high school, you know
- 32:35Speaker 1: you play a little different than you play in elementary
- 32:38Speaker 1: or middle school. Then you know, same for college, same
- 32:41Speaker 1: for if you go into like summer league, same for
- 32:43Speaker 1: when you go to the actual league. It's a learning process,
- 32:46Speaker 1: but it's it's things and people in place to teach
- 32:49Speaker 1: you how to move along with that. In the rap
- 32:52Speaker 1: business man, it's it's more filled with people that that
- 32:59Speaker 1: gatekeeper anything. But I ain't no, ain't no, ain't no.
- 33:02Speaker 1: There's no way to learn this ship before you jump
- 33:05Speaker 1: in this ship. You almost got to make the mistakes
- 33:07Speaker 1: to figure it out. And a lot of the people,
- 33:10Speaker 1: like you know, we feel the opposite about it. There's
- 33:13Speaker 1: a lot of people that feel like, shit, nobody helped me,
- 33:15Speaker 1: so shit, I ain't helping you. And but that's the
- 33:19Speaker 1: trigger thing about the music business. So right now, the
- 33:22Speaker 1: you know the fact, the trend that is to be
- 33:25Speaker 1: independent because the word independent sound you know, it makes
- 33:30Speaker 1: you sound self sufficient. You sound like a self made
- 33:33Speaker 1: artist or self made boss. But in real life, you
- 33:38Speaker 1: really want to do whatever benefits you. So I wouldn't
- 33:43Speaker 1: say don't be independent. I wouldn't say go be independent.
- 33:46Speaker 1: You gotta go with what work. So if you step
- 33:48Speaker 1: in it and you spent, how much you spent and
- 33:52Speaker 1: you can't sustain doing this ship because in real life
- 33:55Speaker 1: you got real life to deal with. You know. That's
- 33:57Speaker 1: why they say it's a young I don't agree, but
- 33:59Speaker 1: I'm understand why. But they say it's a young man's game.
- 34:02Speaker 1: It's a young man's game because you got the time
- 34:05Speaker 1: to be able to to go through the shit you
- 34:10Speaker 1: got to go through at nineteen signing to a label
- 34:13Speaker 1: then oh and m fucking five hundred thousand dollars, Having
- 34:16Speaker 1: to deal with that at nineteen is a whole lot
- 34:19Speaker 1: smoother than dealing with that at thirty six. You got
- 34:22Speaker 1: four or five kids. You know, you got more responsibility.
- 34:25Speaker 1: You don't got the room to have to deal you know, well,
- 34:27Speaker 1: you don't have the room to be able to work
- 34:31Speaker 1: through that to learn from that. But in the music business,
- 34:34Speaker 1: people think, you know, if they like right now, they
- 34:37Speaker 1: think sign into a major is the worst thing in
- 34:39Speaker 1: the world. Real time is not. I think you just
- 34:43Speaker 1: got to know what you're getting yourself into. And you know,
- 34:45Speaker 1: it's more about your plan, right, you know, and if
- 34:48Speaker 1: you don't, got to plan out and.
- 34:49Speaker 5: We sign without a plan and get lost on the sauce.
- 34:52Speaker 5: So exactly, you know, you can be independent without a plan.
- 34:56Speaker 5: You're just saying you're independent kind of thing. I think
- 35:00Speaker 5: signing up or whatever, it's just kind of like being
- 35:03Speaker 5: able to work. You're playing because even that that's the thing.
- 35:07Speaker 5: Like the time that I was signed, it was like going.
- 35:10Speaker 4: To school, I use it.
- 35:13Speaker 5: I ended up using education, okay, like because it was
- 35:17Speaker 5: a lot that I saw things working for other people.
- 35:21Speaker 5: I wasn't in the same position they was when I
- 35:23Speaker 5: had a leverage otherwise, but I saw like they working, yeah,
- 35:27Speaker 5: outside of just the machine and all like that. I'm like, man,
- 35:30Speaker 5: these dudes never stopped working, and so I'm like, I'm
- 35:33Speaker 5: gonna apply it. I might not be able to scale
- 35:35Speaker 5: it the same way. I'm gonna take what I've got
- 35:38Speaker 5: and just double down on what works for me.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, and that's what's super dope about yalls that
- 35:44Speaker 2: obviously you put your head down in the music sales itself.
- 35:47Speaker 1: And y'all both have co followings.
- 35:49Speaker 2: We talk about the independency like opportunities and stuff. Now
- 35:52Speaker 2: you think it's a little bit easier for artists to
- 35:54Speaker 2: jump into the game now because of social media and
- 35:56Speaker 2: stuff like that, because you got people like jell O
- 35:58Speaker 2: come in. We know you know him as a rapper,
- 36:01Speaker 2: yell smack.
- 36:04Speaker 1: The word Look, I understand the man named wrong fever.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I was like.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Yellow or something. He said, Yello, I'm thinking jellale Yello.
- 36:19Speaker 1: I don't know if you want to. I was like, damn,
- 36:24Speaker 1: was baffled. It's a rapper name. Access.
- 36:29Speaker 5: Access is plentiful, man, Like, yeah, you know you can
- 36:33Speaker 5: you can blow up faster, you you know what I mean.
- 36:35Speaker 5: You can reach you can go farther faster because at
- 36:39Speaker 5: the resource of the internet, like the world like very smile,
- 36:43Speaker 5: So people can get like hip to the same thing.
- 36:45Speaker 5: Like even for y'all to say, I was on Greg Goose,
- 36:48Speaker 5: like what it took to get the record high. It
- 36:50Speaker 5: was a lot of footwork, It was a lot of
- 36:52Speaker 5: like Vinyl records and delivering them, put them in a
- 36:56Speaker 5: mailbox and them and the DJ is like going a
- 36:59Speaker 5: little for Kentucky diarbies. Like there's probably the trickle down
- 37:02Speaker 5: of it reaching Indianapolis going to all the HBCU Football
- 37:08Speaker 5: Classic weekends. Like we're jumping out in traffic with like
- 37:11Speaker 5: gorilla marketing versus now it's like a streamer plays your
- 37:15Speaker 5: song and it goes everywhere the next day, Like I mean,
- 37:19Speaker 5: that's that's beautiful for you know, yeah, I guess for
- 37:23Speaker 5: people that can advantage themselves off of it. But it's
- 37:25Speaker 5: also like you know, it's like microwaves stuff, like the
- 37:28Speaker 5: food is good.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and not only that, but like I said, the
- 37:33Speaker 1: no courses for this shit. So you know, you take
- 37:37Speaker 1: a nineteen year old that didn't have any aspirations of
- 37:42Speaker 1: being a musician or being in the business and you know,
- 37:46Speaker 1: they did a song getting popped and now they in
- 37:49Speaker 1: the mix. Imagine how easy it is to manipulate well,
- 37:53Speaker 1: you know, for the industry. That person he learned nothing
- 37:57Speaker 1: from it. You know, you don't know how this works.
- 38:00Speaker 1: All of it is new. And this ship moved fast,
- 38:02Speaker 1: and ship when you important and you know, and that's
- 38:06Speaker 1: the trigger thing about it. A lot of times when
- 38:09Speaker 1: you know a lot of shit. I'm sure we've all
- 38:12Speaker 1: experienced it, you know, especially you whoever recruited you disappeared later.
- 38:19Speaker 1: You know, they did all of the fantastic ship to
- 38:21Speaker 1: get you where you was going. Yeah, and then once
- 38:23Speaker 1: you got there, you won't Prome Queen no more, they nigga.
- 38:27Speaker 1: They moved on to the next one, you know, to
- 38:29Speaker 1: do the same process. And a lot of times what
- 38:32Speaker 1: happens when you're not you know, when you're not familiar
- 38:35Speaker 1: with the process, you'll think you're on top of the
- 38:38Speaker 1: world and you never start adjusting or you never start.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Like you said, you got to learn from what's going on.
- 38:46Speaker 1: So if you're on top of the world, you never
- 38:48Speaker 1: start learning what happens when because there's no way to
- 38:51Speaker 1: be there forever. So what happens when when that ship
- 38:54Speaker 1: slowed down? What's you know, what's your next step now?
- 38:57Speaker 1: And in a lot of cases, that's what create you know,
- 38:59Speaker 1: we said all it happens. Almost every day you'll see
- 39:02Speaker 1: a person that was some kind of social media sensation
- 39:06Speaker 1: and now they got all kinds of weird legal troubles
- 39:09Speaker 1: and ship. But because they was at you know they
- 39:12Speaker 1: was on top of the world at one point, and
- 39:14Speaker 1: they never fully adjusted to know to be able to
- 39:18Speaker 1: manage not being on top of the world. It's almost
- 39:21Speaker 1: like a like an instant high, and now you're chasing
- 39:24Speaker 1: it high and in some cases you'll never get it again.
- 39:28Speaker 1: But that's because you know, Shi, it's a whole lot,
- 39:31Speaker 1: it's a whole lot easier to get it popping. But
- 39:34Speaker 1: they don't necessarily make it easier.
- 39:36Speaker 4: It ain't no such thing as a street team no more.
- 39:40Speaker 2: You guys keep media team called game members. I had
- 39:47Speaker 2: a question. So we was listening to music earlier, and yeah,
- 39:51Speaker 2: five times one of my favorite songs. But when y'all
- 39:53Speaker 2: heard Seeing Green by like Nikki Wayne Draking, Now, what's that?
- 40:00Speaker 9: It's just a song, but well you know what I'm
- 40:07Speaker 9: talking about. I know exactly what make you look looking.
- 40:15Speaker 1: Man, it's a song.
- 40:16Speaker 4: He was a sign simple, I.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Know the name. I never heard that what you was
- 40:22Speaker 1: asking about?
- 40:23Speaker 2: It was like, do y'all be like, damn, Like I mean,
- 40:26Speaker 2: I know it's a simple, but it's like because we
- 40:29Speaker 2: knew when I first heard him, Like, damn, I heard
- 40:31Speaker 2: this before. Man, I want to shout out Shannon Sanders.
- 40:36Speaker 5: It's a producer songwriter from Nashville that that actually I
- 40:40Speaker 5: think produced the hell the helly song that that was
- 40:42Speaker 5: simple somebody I know for like twenty plus years. I
- 40:46Speaker 5: thought it was cool that they was sampling his work,
- 40:49Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying, way we did.
- 40:51Speaker 2: It's one of them situations, man, because it happened to
- 40:53Speaker 2: me like a.
- 40:55Speaker 5: Lot of times, like where things getting recycled, re rot
- 41:01Speaker 5: repurposed and very rarely like I ain't looking for acknowledgement
- 41:05Speaker 5: because that's her song.
- 41:06Speaker 4: It's that song.
- 41:09Speaker 2: It's very.
- 41:12Speaker 5: And I mean that's hip hop, you know what I'm saying,
- 41:15Speaker 5: Like people are making the same song down their word
- 41:18Speaker 5: for word, no for no over. But when I heard it,
- 41:23Speaker 5: I was just like, I thought it was interesting because
- 41:26Speaker 5: that's one of our biggest songs.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Man, well that's that ship was like, I'm like, nah,
- 41:32Speaker 2: I never heard so yeah here, But I don't know.
- 41:43Speaker 2: I don't really believe in coincidence, so a lot of
- 41:47Speaker 2: times I didn't either.
- 41:49Speaker 1: It's too close. I remember the producer dude doing of course,
- 41:57Speaker 1: not the one that made the hours, but that went
- 42:00Speaker 1: viral making it in his car, right, So you know,
- 42:06Speaker 1: I guess I was already conditioned for I understand the
- 42:13Speaker 1: I guess the process now for how they make beats.
- 42:16Speaker 1: It ain't is not to say I don't know, he
- 42:19Speaker 1: know who made it?
- 42:20Speaker 4: Street S made it?
- 42:23Speaker 1: Okay, my bad greeted. You know, shit happens either way.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Like the sampling process ain't the same no more it
- 42:32Speaker 1: used to be. You know, they take the vinyl and
- 42:35Speaker 1: you have to like you had, you had to put
- 42:38Speaker 1: some work in to to create the sample you was
- 42:41Speaker 1: creating to make the beat, and now now it's a
- 42:44Speaker 1: whole lot different, like it's websites. They already got the
- 42:46Speaker 1: samples already cut up, so take it right, you take
- 42:51Speaker 1: it and starting drums. So I never heard Nicki Minaj
- 42:56Speaker 1: song on the beat, but you know I was where
- 43:00Speaker 1: did they use the same beat? I'm just not just
- 43:04Speaker 1: when nothing that was interested in show.
- 43:08Speaker 2: I mean it just when it happens over and over
- 43:11Speaker 2: and over again.
- 43:13Speaker 1: He's a big you know, he got he got prior
- 43:19Speaker 1: experience and such.
- 43:21Speaker 5: But they are different too though, because I can't charge it,
- 43:24Speaker 5: I don't know where where it comes from.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Right, I'm saying it's happened to you more than it.
- 43:29Speaker 2: Just happened like that. I don't necessarily.
- 43:32Speaker 5: I've had scenarios where I got to the source of
- 43:34Speaker 5: it and figured out, like where the inspiration came from.
- 43:38Speaker 5: Those the same time, the same like you know, same terminology,
- 43:45Speaker 5: something like East Nashville slang, Like don't nobody even say
- 43:49Speaker 5: that if somebody, if a New York artist came out
- 43:55Speaker 5: making a song saying that, I think everybody from around
- 43:57Speaker 5: here will be like, especially in real time, you know
- 44:03Speaker 5: what I'm saying. I put out a song six months later,
- 44:08Speaker 5: the same song, you know, but every step of the way,
- 44:13Speaker 5: like especially just growing up, just maturing, I take it
- 44:17Speaker 5: like it's like complimentary or flatter and flatter, but in
- 44:21Speaker 5: the way I do, Like I guess that's why I
- 44:25Speaker 5: think so much when people do give me props or
- 44:27Speaker 5: salute me, because because you don't have to, it's just
- 44:30Speaker 5: easy to act like you don't know what nigga is,
- 44:32Speaker 5: you know. So for a lot of people that do,
- 44:34Speaker 5: like give it up, like that's cool, because I know
- 44:36Speaker 5: what the opposite for like.
- 44:37Speaker 1: To yeah that that was too close. I was just like,
- 44:43Speaker 1: it's too close.
- 44:45Speaker 2: I really.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Looking to see how you react to it. Clearly on
- 44:54Speaker 1: that first take. Yeah, okay they did, Yeah, they did
- 44:59Speaker 1: they Yeah, I go ahead, and that's what it was
- 45:03Speaker 1: called rock ahead.
- 45:04Speaker 2: My song called.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Just go ahead. Man, listen, you got it first. My
- 45:12Speaker 1: song this is when out when you know, this is
- 45:15Speaker 1: us first working together. So to see him reacting or
- 45:20Speaker 1: respond to that, man, that ship was the funniest ship,
- 45:26Speaker 1: like Star Wars on. Some niggas got cameras at my house.
- 45:30Speaker 1: They did it. It's my ship, Okay, baby, I don't
- 45:35Speaker 1: really the first Brothers what I'm saying. That's why it
- 45:39Speaker 1: was funny and me just being me being the permanent
- 45:43Speaker 1: Devil's advocate matter fact, could google it, man, right.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Happened. That's that's crazy for sure. Man, we got to
- 45:58Speaker 2: talk about y'all freak here. I got hell of love
- 46:00Speaker 2: in the city. They always should love to y'all. Man,
- 46:03Speaker 2: what's life pulling up to that? Man? For the people
- 46:05Speaker 2: who don't know, man, man, it's it feels like home
- 46:09Speaker 2: to me. It's welcome because I've only ever been here
- 46:14Speaker 2: in the same space and environment, just like where I
- 46:17Speaker 2: come from. You know.
- 46:18Speaker 5: We were talking about like where we performed and it's
- 46:22Speaker 5: been Sweet thirty eight, which was Limelight and like Clown
- 46:29Speaker 5: been there.
- 46:29Speaker 2: For every phase of the same every day huge.
- 46:35Speaker 4: Rock for your features though, shout out a little you know, yeah.
- 46:41Speaker 2: You know, it's love in the city when you can
- 46:43Speaker 2: pull up the fusion comfortably. Yeah, that's little.
- 46:45Speaker 4: That's what'll are good in my city.
- 46:50Speaker 5: Love.
- 46:51Speaker 4: That's a wild spot they had to permanently.
- 46:57Speaker 2: It's like it's y'all and boosy. Yeah, y'all like stamped
- 47:03Speaker 2: in the city.
- 47:05Speaker 1: So that's a good space to be in.
- 47:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he ever try right music from Indianapolis, it would
- 47:10Speaker 2: not be your typical people here.
- 47:12Speaker 1: It's boosy, gotty y'all. Like it's like, yeah, plasm here.
- 47:16Speaker 3: We talk to people out of town that we know about,
- 47:18Speaker 3: like big artists, you know, future we rock the future
- 47:21Speaker 3: of course, jay z Ho and people don't understand when
- 47:24Speaker 3: we tell them, like when they come to my city,
- 47:26Speaker 3: it's cool, but we more so like people who was
- 47:29Speaker 3: close to us, like more relatable. So y'all stand out
- 47:33Speaker 3: like way more than them, like in our city for sure. Yeah,
- 47:38Speaker 3: it's not for real though, bro, jay z coll be
- 47:42Speaker 3: like cool, you know, like pulling up I just told you,
- 47:47Speaker 3: my boy be just said, man asked the nigga when
- 47:48Speaker 3: he's sliding back down to the city anticipating y'all pull
- 47:53Speaker 3: up for sure.
- 47:54Speaker 5: Yeah, it's always I mean, even we there like music
- 47:58Speaker 5: like new music, current music, it's always a packed house.
- 48:03Speaker 5: Sowd out them spots like water wall. Quite a few
- 48:05Speaker 5: times had mikels pop up on stage and snatched the
- 48:10Speaker 5: mic from us.
- 48:12Speaker 2: I don't know where he came from, you know.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, like he grabbed y'all got smelled like hot water.
- 48:25Speaker 1: People in the club, they smelled like hot for sure.
- 48:30Speaker 1: The way he came from, I thought he was just
- 48:33Speaker 1: another nigga standing behind us. You know, the whole hood
- 48:36Speaker 1: is standing behind us on the stage. So you know,
- 48:39Speaker 1: I don't know who was who. So when he popped
- 48:42Speaker 1: up and grabbed Mike, you know, I first reasked us
- 48:44Speaker 1: who the this Mike? We had schlights idea, you know,
- 48:51Speaker 1: what was really going on. But it was cool, you know,
- 48:53Speaker 1: and he just was showing love because he handed the
- 48:56Speaker 1: right back. He said ship but that that was ridiculous.
- 49:02Speaker 5: It's always been you know, I don't remember the first
- 49:04Speaker 5: time I came up here, like my long time, but
- 49:06Speaker 5: it's it's always been a sign, Like went to the
- 49:10Speaker 5: game earlier, Like we walking to the game, probably take
- 49:13Speaker 5: four or five pictures and robbed when we took hello
- 49:16Speaker 5: pictures and inside of the game.
- 49:17Speaker 2: But it's just like you know, even.
- 49:20Speaker 5: Going I mean, I've been coming up here to paces
- 49:22Speaker 5: guns and whatnot. But it's like when people can see you,
- 49:26Speaker 5: like as far as being stamped like it's it's some
- 49:29Speaker 5: city's day. We only I only saw one side of
- 49:34Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying, and that's.
- 49:35Speaker 1: The hood side of the urban side.
- 49:37Speaker 5: And I think people appreciate you for it, because I
- 49:39Speaker 5: do understand a lot of artists don't don't see that side.
- 49:44Speaker 2: And no knocking them.
- 49:45Speaker 5: By the time they was coming to a market like this,
- 49:48Speaker 5: they might almost outgrew the hood or going to the
- 49:52Speaker 5: part ticket venues or it was on somebody tour the
- 49:55Speaker 5: while it's like I'm.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Going wherever they got the bread pulling up to for sure,
- 50:01Speaker 2: definitely many'll put up to the city one time. And
- 50:03Speaker 2: before with with the young Jersey, that was less I got.
- 50:08Speaker 4: I got the picture of that find out.
- 50:11Speaker 2: The nigga.
- 50:12Speaker 1: I was started. I didn't know what to hear.
- 50:15Speaker 10: This was he knew me like.
- 50:31Speaker 4: This every day man cool.
- 50:33Speaker 2: I turned up in them well about times in the
- 50:37Speaker 2: video too. In the bone Shock like video, I appreciate you, man.
- 50:44Speaker 4: Real fansy all music. Man, let y'all do that for sure.
- 50:50Speaker 1: I said that mama revenged to my mama. She's like,
- 50:54Speaker 1: what is it?
- 50:57Speaker 10: Listen to it?
- 50:58Speaker 1: She's like this guy for me? Yeah, for me.
- 51:06Speaker 3: I wanted to ask, bro, how did you cross paths
- 51:08Speaker 3: with Kevin Gates?
- 51:12Speaker 1: Our stories is different?
- 51:14Speaker 4: Who want to tell him?
- 51:17Speaker 2: Man?
- 51:18Speaker 5: I say that was like twenty thirteen. It was before
- 51:23Speaker 5: we actually met this. This is just a strength. Like
- 51:25Speaker 5: I said, I don't believe in coincidence. So it happened
- 51:28Speaker 5: like this. I'm pulling to the crib and when i'm
- 51:34Speaker 5: when I hear my garage, I take it this is
- 51:37Speaker 5: just dat. It's probably twenty twelve.
- 51:38Speaker 2: Man.
- 51:39Speaker 5: I take a CD out whatever I was listening to,
- 51:41Speaker 5: and so the radio pop song and his satellite radio
- 51:44Speaker 5: at the time.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Literally, when I.
- 51:46Speaker 5: Take the CD out, I hear Case Slaight at the
- 51:50Speaker 5: time rest of Peace. He like, I hear him asking
- 51:53Speaker 5: the artists he interview, and it was like, man, so
- 51:55Speaker 5: what you listening to right now? Like what you got
- 51:57Speaker 5: in your like if you ever follow this changer, what
- 52:00Speaker 5: you're listening to? And the artist on this is I man,
- 52:03Speaker 5: all listening number start leed though. I'm like, I'm in
- 52:06Speaker 5: the car by myself. The fuck you know, it's just
- 52:10Speaker 5: I'm about to cut the car. And I sat there
- 52:12Speaker 5: was like now I'm curious, Like who was just just
- 52:14Speaker 5: shouting me out on sell like radio. So they played
- 52:17Speaker 5: some music. When they come back. I figured I was
- 52:19Speaker 5: like Kevin Guys. I hadn't heard of him at the time,
- 52:21Speaker 5: and I was like, man, that was real. He was like, man,
- 52:23Speaker 5: it's the only artist I listened to, and so I
- 52:26Speaker 5: went and checked his music out from there and was
- 52:28Speaker 5: I was rocking with it. A few months later, he
- 52:32Speaker 5: had I Guess signed with Atlantic and one his an
- 52:35Speaker 5: rs it reached out to me through email was like, man,
- 52:38Speaker 5: we got this new artist we signed and we want
- 52:40Speaker 5: to get you on his album one night and I
- 52:44Speaker 5: was like, yeah, I rock with his music. We can
- 52:47Speaker 5: swap something out. I do the verse, get him to
- 52:50Speaker 5: do a churse for me kind of thing, just just
- 52:52Speaker 5: swap it. They sent the song and knocked it out,
- 52:56Speaker 5: and uh. I was on the way to Atlanta the
- 52:58Speaker 5: met trip. We was working on Step two at the time,
- 53:01Speaker 5: and I was like, man, I'm about to send a
- 53:02Speaker 5: song when I get to Atlanta. I'm gonna go through
- 53:05Speaker 5: some beats and send you the song for Bro to
- 53:07Speaker 5: get on. And they was like, Kevin living in Atlanta
- 53:10Speaker 5: right now, I'm gonna send you send out each other number.
- 53:12Speaker 5: This is the man whoever from Atlantic Records, Brian Johnston
- 53:18Speaker 5: Kyle and so I'm like, cool, you know.
- 53:23Speaker 2: I reach out Bro, like he liked he rocked with
- 53:26Speaker 2: the Verse or whatever.
- 53:27Speaker 5: We went to the studio that night and he ended
- 53:32Speaker 5: up pulling up at the studio and.
- 53:34Speaker 1: That was your first time? Yeah, yeah, that was that
- 53:36Speaker 1: was actually first day.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Wow.
- 53:40Speaker 5: So he pulled up to me and Tripp studio session
- 53:43Speaker 5: and uh like he said, like I said, I guess
- 53:47Speaker 5: perspectives that was different. But we did at least on
- 53:52Speaker 5: Life from Step Brothers two, and we did abouttle Bitch
- 53:58Speaker 5: called Turkey. They had all three of us. Tripping ended
- 54:01Speaker 5: up leaving and me and Gate stayed there and did
- 54:05Speaker 5: about four or five more songs and just kind of
- 54:08Speaker 5: chopped it up from there, you know, just like for
- 54:11Speaker 5: as the Bond and moving forward like me and Tripping
- 54:15Speaker 5: ended up joining this tour, Stranging the Fiction tour that far.
- 54:19Speaker 5: I was on his album the n y B song
- 54:21Speaker 5: he was on our album toured together, and you know
- 54:25Speaker 5: the rest pretty much history.
- 54:26Speaker 4: I talked to Day. It's hard bro y'all.
- 54:29Speaker 3: I feel like y'all kind of introduced him well to us,
- 54:32Speaker 3: like it was for me.
- 54:35Speaker 1: I ain't know that was their first time meeting. I was, man,
- 54:41Speaker 1: it's never personal. I just don't. I live in the bubble, man,
- 54:44Speaker 1: it is what it is. So he was like, uh,
- 54:47Speaker 1: you know my guy Kevin Gates pulling up. I don't
- 54:50Speaker 1: know who that is. Then when Gates got there, Gates
- 54:57Speaker 1: went like, again, this is my first time meeting. So
- 55:00Speaker 1: I'm an, I don't. I guess I don't really talk much.
- 55:04Speaker 1: So when Gates came in, he sat down and he
- 55:08Speaker 1: just started talking and he was just I thought that
- 55:12Speaker 1: niggas knew each other, but Gates was talking talking. He
- 55:16Speaker 1: was talking about all kinds of ship, A lot of
- 55:19Speaker 1: ship made very little sense of ship made no sense.
- 55:24Speaker 1: A lot of ship made since fucking six years later.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Either way, he was just talking and he was like
- 55:32Speaker 1: one of the things that it tripped me out because
- 55:35Speaker 1: it was random, but me, you no, I guess following
- 55:41Speaker 1: and paying attention to paying more attention to him. Afterwards,
- 55:44Speaker 1: I understood it for the most part, he just speak
- 55:47Speaker 1: his mind. But out of the blue, Nigga was like,
- 55:51Speaker 1: you know, gates goats eat eat cans. They looked at it.
- 55:54Speaker 1: He's off the cans. I'm like, why it came out
- 56:02Speaker 1: of nowhere. But then starts where they started playing the music.
- 56:06Speaker 1: And when they started playing the music like okay, okay,
- 56:09Speaker 1: I can fuck with it. I fucked with I fucked
- 56:10Speaker 1: with the passion in it, and all the way up
- 56:14Speaker 1: into the end, I didn't really I didn't know who
- 56:16Speaker 1: he was. Ain't know who he was and what he
- 56:17Speaker 1: do ain't no ship. So when we stopped playing the music,
- 56:20Speaker 1: I'm okay, No, he got something and start, you know,
- 56:24Speaker 1: they started discussing making music, and some of the ship
- 56:28Speaker 1: that he was saying, some of the ship he was
- 56:31Speaker 1: saying about music kind of changed how I looked at
- 56:35Speaker 1: certain ship. Because he I can't remember what record, started
- 56:39Speaker 1: playing him on record, and the record was either too
- 56:43Speaker 1: long or too short, I can't really remember. But Star
- 56:46Speaker 1: was like, nah, it was he was scared he was
- 56:48Speaker 1: gonna make it too long. He was like, well, you know,
- 56:51Speaker 1: I don't want to do or add another verse to
- 56:53Speaker 1: it or something, because then the song gonna be too long.
- 56:55Speaker 1: Gays like, man, how long the song is? Just forty seconds?
- 56:59Speaker 1: That's all you got, That's all you got to put
- 57:01Speaker 1: this ship out, eat this ship up. And when he
- 57:03Speaker 1: said that, I'm like, that's crazy. Listening for the second
- 57:06Speaker 1: song and then sucking two three years later, everybody's got
- 57:11Speaker 1: fifty second songs. Nigga was onto something and you know
- 57:15Speaker 1: the delivery, which was, you know, a bit of odd
- 57:19Speaker 1: to me, but it made why I said, you know,
- 57:21Speaker 1: some of the ship makes sense later. But me and
- 57:24Speaker 1: him then, I could have sworn them niggas had already
- 57:27Speaker 1: knew each other. But you know, Gates was having like
- 57:31Speaker 1: personal conversations. I knew the niggas each other, Well, what.
- 57:40Speaker 2: Haven't met his music prior to then?
- 57:42Speaker 5: And I think the relationship we had with my music,
- 57:45Speaker 5: and he like wasn't shy about it. Yeah, a lot
- 57:48Speaker 5: of it at that point to me, was just kind
- 57:51Speaker 5: of listening or you know, hearing them ound because he
- 57:53Speaker 5: was explaining like how you got how and when he
- 57:55Speaker 5: got introduced to my music, which made a lot of.
- 57:57Speaker 2: Sense to me.
- 57:59Speaker 5: And I spent a lot of time in Louisiana, so
- 58:02Speaker 5: like it was, I think I could.
- 58:07Speaker 2: I think I.
- 58:07Speaker 1: Understood what's peculiar, and I just say that, yeah, he
- 58:13Speaker 1: knew exactly what the nigga.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Saying, and we bonded right away. And it really wasn't
- 58:17Speaker 2: much different than than me and Truck working together, like
- 58:20Speaker 2: the work pay. So the work just kind of just
- 58:25Speaker 2: natural exactly like effort six seven songs in one session.
- 58:32Speaker 2: It was all like out of here, you know, that
- 58:34Speaker 2: was all smashes. I think he was on my call
- 58:36Speaker 2: talk like four times something like that. As much as
- 58:39Speaker 2: like you know, some people I get there, like the
- 58:41Speaker 2: first time I heard and was here for sure. I'm
- 58:43Speaker 2: sure a lot of people may be heard me for
- 58:45Speaker 2: the first time on this project, and that was the
- 58:48Speaker 2: same thing I'm saying.
- 58:49Speaker 1: That's how I feel like it should go.
- 58:51Speaker 5: Trying because there's a lot of artists trip early on
- 58:56Speaker 5: with Yo Gotti working working with dogs, and it's like,
- 59:01Speaker 5: for sure, we try the audience somewhere and it's some overlap.
- 59:05Speaker 5: And however, whoever you heard first, how have you heard us?
- 59:10Speaker 5: Like that's what it's all about, Like me working with
- 59:12Speaker 5: the younger artists, working with a little baby and no
- 59:14Speaker 5: cap and et cetera, Like I'm getting new fans, new
- 59:17Speaker 5: audience even tho I'm ten years older than these as artists,
- 59:21Speaker 5: and it's just I mean, it's just really just a
- 59:23Speaker 5: solid But I feel like when it's easy and fun
- 59:27Speaker 5: and and creative and make music with artists, you gotta
- 59:31Speaker 5: just like you gotta ride that way.
- 59:36Speaker 2: I want to ask you this question because you both
- 59:37Speaker 2: are very vulnerable in your music. You get a lot
- 59:39Speaker 2: of your fan base like feel like they know everything
- 59:41Speaker 2: about y'all when they meet y'all.
- 59:42Speaker 1: Like you said, you just make gates and y'all locked
- 59:44Speaker 1: in because of the music.
- 59:45Speaker 2: People hear y'all music, they feel like they know y'all
- 59:47Speaker 2: instantly when they meet y'all.
- 59:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, in most cases it get real awkward. Well,
- 59:55Speaker 1: you know, I appreciate it, I value it. But I
- 59:59Speaker 1: think sometimes as people get they get so invested in
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: it that they forget that you don't know me. So
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: even like, you know, if you're listening to my music
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: and you listen enough for you to feel like you
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: know me, then one of the first things that should
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: stick out is that I not I'm not welcoming. I
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: guess if that's the word, you know, So what happens,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: you know, we may be moving around people called I
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: was in the airport yesterday and women walk past said, hey, Chris,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: I don't even know you, like I love your music,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: like you love enough to think you could call me Chris.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: But that's how you know some people, some people be
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: so into it that the line between you know, entertainment
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: and reality is is almost invisible. And again, you know,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: I appreciate it, uh respected, But I think I think
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: you know, we're aware of it enough and background is
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: pretty much the same, so we make sure to keep
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: the boundaries, uh present, if that makes sense. So you know,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: you walk up to me and I'm with my kids,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: I get it. You might not know. You know, I
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: ain't done trip with my kids, So you know, I'll
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: politely tell you. You know, you know this, I ain't ain't
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: doing no pictures or none of that. I got my kids,
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: and you know, some people get it, more people get
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: it now than you previously. But you know, if you
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: don't get it, and so you know, I know that
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: if this go sideways, I ain't really gonna get I
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: ain't gonna interact with it. You know a lot of
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: what's the word, I'm trying my best of diffuse even
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: if all I'm gonna do is walk away. I was
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: in the fucking put putt one time with my whole
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: family and uh, a couple asked for a picture and
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: I was like, you know, you know this, ain't you know?
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: I can't really do that right now with my family.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: And guy just starts snapping. He was like, man, you
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: Hollywood ask niggas a nigga think he this? He think
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: you that? And I was like, damn no, see, but
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: that's the thing. See earlier I told you I don't
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: play well with us, and.
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: You sound like him when he the.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Way my family, the way we was raised is come one,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: come off, So you don't mind if you four feet
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: or nine feet, you're gonna get everybody's feet on your ass.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: So you know, but I got my kids, so I
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: got to be a father right now, a role model
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: so to speak. She can hit the fan. When it
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: hit the fan, you vastly out my entire It was
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: thirty of us in there, and that's just how we rock.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: So if I, if if any physical altercation would have
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: broke out, it would have been the worst case scenario.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: This ship wasn't gonna end lightly. And no, I gotta
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: think thirty you know, thirty people stumping you out might
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: kill you in him. On top of that, you know,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: what's the effect that have on our kids? He's a
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: small you know at that time they were small, but
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: he's a small children and you know, there's gonna be
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: complete chaos. They the ship they came to putt put
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: it be at a fucking I don't know what you
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: call it. Was that is that considered an amusement park?
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: What it is they can't have They ain't come, you know,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: they ain't come to see a brawl. So you know,
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: I gotta you know, I gotta be you know, I
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: have to, I gotta think think about the you know,
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: the consequences of how far it can go. And I
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: get it. You love my music so much that you
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: blurred the line. You don't get it, So I'm gonna
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: excuse you, even though you know, and they're getting louder
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: and louder. I'm like, man, And at this point time,
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: my brother was alive, and my brother is what was was.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: He was extremely welcome, but it was a facade. He
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: was fake welcome. Like you know, yeah, man, were cool.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: They plotting to rob you, like twenty minutes as soon
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: as y'all go to whatever the they for the know
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: they're on your ass. So even then, I you know,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: I got to diffuse him because again the way my
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: family rocked, if he would have set it off, it
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: would have been you know, I wouldn't have been able
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: to diffuse it after that. Ain't no a man, it's
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: a one on one. We don't we don't know what
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: those are. Ship would have gotten.
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: Niggas know now, yeah, I see trip, he got the baby.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: If I got, you know you ain't got. So you
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: know he ain't. That's severe way. You know, you can't
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: speak or don't do the no and don't get up
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: said with me because I ain't. You know, I'm standing
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: on what I'm standing on and I'm father more them
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: and fun because I think you know what happens when
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: I turn I take all these fucking pictures with you.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: And now I got to go to the front and
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: had them call due to fucking all call because I
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: can't find one of my goddamn kids. I was taking
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: pictures with joy. Now I'm a bad parents. You know
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: I had to. You know, I got a picture of
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: time and a place for everything, and you know, if
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: I'm in target solo I'm with it. You know, I
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: take as many pictures as you want. She was just
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: at the game. I ain't turn a single picture down
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: when we performed, we know, shit, we will to take
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: a picture with every person that's in there. If I
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: got my kids, we ain't taking not a single picture.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: And I don't I don't agree with the idea of
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: my kids being famous until that's you know, until they
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: old enough to make the decision for themselves. So I
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: ain't for to sit here and let you take pictures
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: of me and my family or you know, you got
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: videos of me. And you know, if you you know
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: with me in any sort you check my ship. My
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: kids ain't all over my social media. And I feel like,
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: I think it's a very thin line between that ship
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: being cute and that ship being exploited. And I ain't
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: trying to get no points off my cute kids. And
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: it ain't fucking adorable to me, But dang, what I'm
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: in this for? And I feel like I feel like
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: in some cases, you know, the more you let people
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: blurt the line, no more bleard is gonna get and
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: you know, and that shit make my kids extremely uncomfortable,
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: and people don't get it I was in came my
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: target one day. I have my two oldest kids, and
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: you know, I'm naturally with paranoid because we know we're
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: come from where we come from. So you know, when
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: I come out, I picked this guy standing by this
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: truck and keep staring at me. I'm like, man, you
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: know I had again paranoid. I've already talked my kids.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: I won't say talking, never been in the scenario. So
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: I've already talked talked to them about what to do
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: with ship. You know, shit go sideways when we out about,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: and I've explained to them I got enemies I've never
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: met because because I'm successful, that's what success brings. So
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: you know, when I peeped the dude, I keep walking
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: and you know, I'm walking on one side of the
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: parking like he on the other side. So I peep
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: them crossing, So what's up? And I tell my kids
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: to keep going, you know, because if something happened, I
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: preferred them to be away from right here. He was like, man,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: I've been circling the park I saw you go in.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: I've been circling the parking lot until you came out. Man,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: fuck with your music so much he was a fan.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: I was like, man, you know how weird that sound?
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: You circled the parkam lit. I'm like, in real time,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: I don't know who you are. Like, I appreciate the love,
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: I really do. I'm like, man, you know, while I
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: was saying that, he looked at my kids, and my
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: kids was like this. He was like, damn, man, I
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: ain't think about that. You know, I fanned out, and
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: you know I ain't peep. I just made your whole
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: whole family. But you know, I mean you and your
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: family uncomfortable. He was apologizing to them and shit, and
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: and when I got in the truck, I asked my kids,
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: y'all good. And it was crazy because they, like I said,
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: I'm paranoid naturally, and I ain't know that that rubbed
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: off on them too. They was like, yeah, Dad, we
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: seen him as soon as we walked out. We seen
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: him staring at you. So they never stopped paying attention
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: to him. And I told them to go to the truck.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: When he stepped over, and when he pointed to my left,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: that's when I realized they only moved like two or
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: three cars down. They didn't go all the way to
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: the truck. But that's because they trying to make sure
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: they see what's going on. But I saw all that.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: You say, you know, if you running to me and
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: with my kids, you know, tone it down, you look good.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: You know, sometimes it should just go too.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: Far, man.
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: And what's that feeling like?
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: Man? When people wrap y'all, y'all, y'all, perform y'all something.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: But you can see the crowd wrapping every word for word,
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: Like I play basketball, so you know, you see people
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: fan out, they cheerful, you like your stuff, they have
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: your jersey on or whatever. But somebody wrapping something you
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: wrote word for word, bar for bory. What's that like?
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: It's it's a real and it's it's still as surreal
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: as the first time.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: It would probably why I could imagine it would be
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: it would feel the same way it would feel when
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: you when you leaving the game or any time in
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: life when somebody got like a basketball called to you.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: Nah, that's different though, because people buy basketball cars or
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: sell them. Yeah.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: I don't about that part.
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: I can't. I can't see me.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: I think that ship is you for it, you know,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: I don't know, it's I don't know a better way
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: to explain it. I think I think that ship, you know,
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: it's a special feeling. Yeah, I ain't.
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: I ain't never like imagine like none of this for myself.
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: Like you said he was listening to the street Ball
- 1:10:30Speaker 5: song like I was. I woner who said that should
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: have sided want to wrap just on some cool ship
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: or or you know, trying to make some money, trying
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: to get the.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: Girls, whatever it was at that time.
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: Like, I ain't never like expect or you know, look
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: at it as being like embraced, well received. Like I
- 1:10:52Speaker 5: remember the first time somebody I didn't know telling me
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: I was cold, you know what I'm saying, and that
- 1:10:58Speaker 5: that meant so much more just truthfully, and like my
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: friends and peers people that I was only they could
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: just say that it because I'm like, I'm on the
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: other side of town and these these dudes don't know me,
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: or I'm you know, I'm up at TSU in a
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: parking lot like and a cipher just wrapping a cappella,
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: and people like or the next day, people.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: Like, man wrap some of us.
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: I'm telling my homeboy about you, and it's like, you know,
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: so the level up from there to like you said
- 1:11:24Speaker 5: something that I wrote down something I put together composed,
- 1:11:26Speaker 5: and I'm four or five hours working home, or I'm
- 1:11:31Speaker 5: ten hours work from home, or we're on the tour
- 1:11:33Speaker 5: and it's like night or night or just just period
- 1:11:36Speaker 5: even like the new music just being received, but like
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: you said, seeing people really rocking out to it and
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: it's like like it's day song.
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: Yeah, like damn like cause, I mean, it's a special feeling.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: I always wanted to ask this question, especially for y'all, where.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: Do you get more joy in making the music or
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: actually getting able to perform and to share with.
- 1:11:56Speaker 5: People, Like it's like even for me is like fifty
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: to fifty. I think making the music sometimes I was
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: like therapy. And then to the last question, when it's
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: received well and it's appreciated, like it's a whole another
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: high to share it or like yeah, we might have
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: made music a month or two prior or over the
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: course of time, but like at the time I'm putting
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: it out, I'm almost like enjoying it all over again
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: the other people listening to it in real time.
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: But that that feedback, that reception, Like.
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: The last question that kind of skipped over of how
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: do you balance like giving so much personally to people
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: feel like they know you. That's the give and type
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: of that. It was like for me, my music is
- 1:12:46Speaker 5: my personality. My music is like I'm this is all
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: I know how to be. You know, once I tapped
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: into that, once I got out of like trying to
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: work within the system, like I just went with I
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: don't be the best me and be the best for myself.
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: So people taking it that, it's like I don't really
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: get no better than that.
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: I don't have to put none on that the good, bad, happy,
- 1:13:07Speaker 5: say in between. Because the crazy part is people tend
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: to like gravitate toward the darkest.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: The most extreme.
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: So you know what I'm saying, I made music that
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: for me, I might have been crying on it inside
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: making it, but somebody else like, man, this changed my life,
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: this got me through this, or like it was right
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: with my life right there.
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: Damn I was right in my life. But the fact
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: that they had that effect on you, like it keep
- 1:13:33Speaker 5: me doing it. You know what I'm saying. Let me
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: know I ain't doing it for nothing.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: I said, it's saying I think I think the joy
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: come from I don't get joy out of creating the music.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: But like you said, creating it is the therapy for me.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: Creating the songs keep me from from the creating the song,
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: keep me from doing other ship. I just say that.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: I think the you know, the creating process is more
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: like the release. And then you know, the joy comes
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: from another person being able to relate to something they
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: wasn't president for if that makes sense, you know, to
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: meet me and say you went through so and so,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: so and so, because when I'm making the record, I
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: ain't thinking about what you're going through, Like you said,
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: I'm thinking about what I'm going through, and I think
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: that's refreshing for all people to know you ain't the
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: only one in that certain battle, whatever that battle is.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: So you know, I think for the most part, the
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: joy come from, you know, receipting from from meeting people
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: that received the music.
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: Even when you said, like the wrestling stuff or like
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: generational stuff, like a lot of music is a time capsule.
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: So it's just speaking from this the era. This is
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: a generation we grew up in. Like it's music that's
- 1:14:53Speaker 5: made today that I just don't get. I don't understand
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: because I.
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: Grow up like you know, saying you'll not be trying
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: to put us off you're trying to put us on
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: every day.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: I just can't get with it about them.
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: But like it's still to say, it's still somebody speaking
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: for us or speaking the language that we understand, because
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: a lot of my favorite artists that I came up
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: on don't do it for me anymore. Like you know
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: what I'm saying the same when.
- 1:15:20Speaker 5: They making music present day, they trying to keep up
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: with a new wave, and it's like, man, just give
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: it to me straight the way that you are.
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: And so that's that's just something that we tap into.
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: Like even even the project Dude, well, I don't know
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: if y'all gonna ask about.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: It, it was gonna don't worry about it.
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: Yeah, But I mean, it's it's like speaking a language
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: that if it's if you know, you know that people
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: that relate to it can understand.
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: It's like a sweet spot.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Man, Let's get straight to it.
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: Man, it's very hard to make projects with the same
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: name and they are still great y'all.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: On the fourth version of this man new Step Brothers
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: on the Way Man, indeed, indeed, indeed by your baby
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: getting dated away.
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: Yeah, we came here really to drop the day it's
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: gonna drop it on fire twenty uh may knife step
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: Brothers for Life.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: And we're getting the drop.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Stay Brothers for life. Can I ask you this? Yeah,
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: I'm married. I know you're married to Are you still
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: you're not.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: Off for the purpose like that? I'm very too well.
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: Leave it up my wife.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: Yeah kind of ship start you started, brother to stop
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: you in your track?
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: Start said Brothers three? Off with that perform that's don't
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: say that line, no more respect actually sensors. So I
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: had to say it for him.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: We'll let you'll figure that out. How to be responsible.
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: For man? But listen, man, you're blessed us somebody you
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: for it. Man with made the decision y'all to spend
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: it black. Just talk.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: See, I think we ain't never were never not in
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: I don't know how you will put that to the
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: audience or to the people who listen to our music.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: You'd assume that in between step Brothers three and now
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: that you know, we ain't a group or tandem. I
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: don't know how you look at it. I understand why
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: people think that in real life, in between that we
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: ain't miss a beat like he was in the witding,
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: We like we know each other, were around each other,
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: We talked to each other. We have an actual relationship.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: It's not just music. And even with music, like if
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: I'm sure somebody's going to go and do it, if
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: you said and counted all the records we've done in between.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: Don't worry about He just asks this this morning. He
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: was like, besides, step brother, know how many songs you
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: think they actually on each other's album all the time.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: You couldn't count. Okay, but you get what I'm saying
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: that our relationship was never contingent on us being the group.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: When we met, we was two solo artists. So we
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: just worked so well with each other that we never
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: really it don't feel like work. So at some point
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: he good with timeline. I don't know how long it's been.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: So at some point, you know, people keep asking about
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: step brother's foe, step brother's foe, and I was like,
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: you know, ship, we'll get to it when we get
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: to it. And somebody, so I think it might have
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: been him. How long it's been.
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: For years and years and eleven.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: When he did that ship, I was like, oh, that
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: makes sense. Then people assume no step brothers folks. Yeah,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: but it's just been life.
- 1:19:27Speaker 5: Yeah, and that's I mean, the iron all the album
- 1:19:30Speaker 5: being called step Brothers for Life, is we really you know,
- 1:19:35Speaker 5: really thugging it out, We really living this and it's
- 1:19:38Speaker 5: our music is transparent. Our music is full disclosure if
- 1:19:42Speaker 5: you will. But like you just said, every step of
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: the way we've been and when we've been at birthday parties,
- 1:19:49Speaker 5: funerals for his work, like like every highs and lows,
- 1:19:54Speaker 5: and we actually truthfully like on the ground that much
- 1:19:58Speaker 5: closer in the time between Step Brothers three and now.
- 1:20:01Speaker 5: So I don't I don't think it's felt like eight
- 1:20:03Speaker 5: years for us because it was going through everything every
- 1:20:06Speaker 5: step of the way to get here. But I also
- 1:20:09Speaker 5: think it's like perfect time in divine time. And the
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: original plan we dropped three was to drop again that.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: Year, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, he said it,
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: and people never let us forget it.
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: Like life happened. Yeah, you know, just I mean we
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: got to r.
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: Real tricky a way.
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: I think I think right now we're in the space
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: or in a in a accessible enough space for us
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: to sit down and like I said earlier, we do
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: all the Step Brothers records in person, email and that ship.
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: Yeah, we never sent a song over for nothing.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: That's every step Brother's tape was recorded in person. And
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: how long those take?
- 1:21:00Speaker 5: How long does it take? Yeah, like the process if
- 1:21:03Speaker 5: you had the first one we did in three sessions.
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: Damn. The second one, I don't know, it wasn't that.
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:21:11Speaker 5: The second one we started around the time of that
- 1:21:15Speaker 5: session with Kevin Gates, which was like early twenty thirteen,
- 1:21:19Speaker 5: and we finished it like early summer by the time.
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: Is that the one we did the mixtape for two.
- 1:21:27Speaker 4: Nah, that was three, but it was it wasn't three sessions.
- 1:21:31Speaker 5: It wasn't quite as fast as the first one, but
- 1:21:35Speaker 5: we just would link out of town and it was
- 1:21:37Speaker 5: going to Atlanta a lot and just getting in the
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: last it wasn't many sessions.
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: And the last one same thing. We just get together.
- 1:21:45Speaker 5: We did like an ep a short mix tape and
- 1:21:49Speaker 5: the album at the same time. And that was over
- 1:21:51Speaker 5: the course of like really the majority of it in
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: about two months two months time, maybe five or six sessions.
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: And with this one, we we've gotten with maybe four
- 1:22:02Speaker 5: or five sessions and got the majority of it together
- 1:22:06Speaker 5: just I mean, even our last session we did four
- 1:22:09Speaker 5: songs in one session, just not even.
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: Really thinking about it. But in that time between, like
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: we had sessions where we ain't even probably play no beats.
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: We just sat in there chopping it like this, look
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: up and everybody tired, and we're just going our way
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: because it just might be necessary as homeboys just to talk,
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, and them conversations that won't
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: make the best records anyway.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it turns it into the art, But we don't
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: really like you know, like I said, you know, that's
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: my brother. So we on no schedule, so to speak.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: So when we when we do go win of course,
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: you know, when we booking time, we keep that in
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: mind that you know, we got paid into whatever, but
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: we don't really you know, I don't know. It don't
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: feel like work, so I don't much keep up with.
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: It just happens how we have and we don't do
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: the you know, like when you're sitting saying, man, we
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: got to come up with a fucking single or catch
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: it this or whatever. The fuck. We ain't in no
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: none of that. We go and whatever happens when we
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: were in there, and it happens, and that's what we
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: go with, and so far, that's what our careers have
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: been based off you know, us individually and as a tandem.
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: It's this has worked because we've been who we really are.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: And you know, it don't make no sense to try
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: reading at the wheel.
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: Now. I'm just trying to think, like y'all don't I
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: never hear y'all recycle shit, But y'all dropped so much music,
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: Like I ain't gonna lie probably to recycled so much
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: shit and I.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: Can't remember all this shit. Yeah, you drop thirty six.
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: Albums, Yeah, that's why you do that. Like what what
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: made you just get in the studio? Like, man, I'm
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: dropping twenty five albums in two years.
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: Man, we let people believe that me and him made
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: some kind of bet, but real time because he dropped
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: two times. I said, just dropped. I sat in it
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: and I was in the studio where one of my
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: rap friends he paid passed away U long lived Casino Jiggle.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: But while I was in the studio, I was working
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: on the record. I was working on the record. Well,
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: I was doing a verse for him, and he was like, man,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: when you're gonna drop something else? I was like, you know,
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: I just dropped him. He was like, it's been about
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: two years and said what and you know, we said,
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: we do the go through my timeline, and this was
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: like maybe twenty twenty one, and maybe either way, you know,
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: I looked at my last release and him like, damn,
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: you know it has been a minute, and I had
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: no excuse for why I hadn't released. So actually that
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: that kind of spawned the idea of mind, I'm gonna
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: put a tape out, And every time I said I'm
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: put the tape out, I didn't put a tape out.
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: And are you to overthink it? You know, I sit
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: and do fucking forty songs and then pick fifteen songs
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: and then everything else just sit on the hard drive.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: So at some point I don't really know what it was,
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: but I sat and I'm looking at all these fucking
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: songs on this hard drive. It's just there. Nobody's ever
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: heard any of it, and I said, man, fuck it,
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna put this shit out. Then I thought about
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: it again. I said, no, fuck it, I'm just gonna
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: put everything. Y'all that shit's still on the hard drive.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, fuck this, I'm gonna put every
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: From from that moment forward, I said, every record I
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: record I'm gonna release. They don't much make sense to
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: hold on to it. I ain't I don't have to
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: answer to nobody, so don't much make any sense. And
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: then I'm in my own studio, so I ain't even
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: on no clock. So I said, fuck it, I'm gonna
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: put out everything, and uh, well, the first one, the
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: first tape is eight records. So I told myself I
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: wouldn't ever put something out that's less than eight records.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: I feel like people do it all the time, and
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: each his own. I felt like that wouldn't be I
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: felt like I'd be doing my audience at disservice to
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: give you less than eight records. So I had no
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: goal you. The end of that month, I called is Distributed.
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, hey, I got eight records. I
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: want to put this tape out, so let's do it.
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: I did that. I said, you know, do the same
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: thing and ship. After about four or five of them,
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: I say, you know, I think I can do whole
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: gear work for this ship. They said, yeah, sure, you know.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: They've heard it all from everybody, So even a distribution
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: company didn't know why I was dead ass serious. So
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: when I did them twelve really on the eleventh one.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: On the eleventh one, I don't pay attention to the numbers.
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: So you know, they calling me and they telling me
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: how successful the ship was. I said, oh, I can
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: do this with twelve moments. Man. When I started, when
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: I started on that second twelve Oh man, I was
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: so exhausted. When I got to fucking twenty fourth tape,
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: I said, it could the way I my process is
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: different now. I used to be one of those artists
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: always in the studio every day. I record a record
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: every day. Now, throughout the whole twenty four tapes I
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: probably recorded, I probably was in the studio for three
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: days out of every one of those months now, And
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: I mean, Craig can tell you we I don't remember
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: what tape it was that I was in New York
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: doing the press run and man, him was on the phone,
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: was on the phone for a while. We was on
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: the phone, and I want to say, called me about
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: a particular song that he was working on. And throughout
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: the conversation, you know, it really was this particular conversation,
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: I was more an ear than a voice. I'm just
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: listening to him, I'm hearing him out. So at the
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: end of the conversation, I think I was like, you know,
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: I got to call our engineer because I can't get
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: this ship to work like it was to work, like
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: you know, trying to record here in the hotel, and
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: I can't get this ship to work.
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: He said, okay, you know, and he's fully aware of
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: the time frame you have to release music. And it
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: might have been like a Sunday or Monday. We on
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: the phone and he was like, okay. When you dropping
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: him like Friday, You're like, okay, okay, shit, hapn't you
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: got not a single fucking song. I don't have anything.
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: And she's got to be turned in like Tuesday or
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: Wednesday for the shit to really be released. And Craig
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: was like, man, how the fuck you got nothing? I
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: got ship, And you know, by Wednesday I had leased
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: fourteen or twelve songs at least. I don't know how
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: many it went on that tape. I had the whole tape.
- 1:28:49Speaker 5: I don't know, man, Just time's twenty four like he
- 1:28:53Speaker 5: did this twenty four time.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: Yeah, like, hell, bro, I have no idea, man, I really, like,
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: I said a second, just let whatever happens happens. If
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: you go to each one of those. Every song is
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: probably three hundred some songs. No two songs are the same.
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: I didn't sit and say, you know, I'm gonna do
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: this kind of record or make this kind of song.
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: I cycled through beats and whatever popping my head. That's
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: what I say. That's what I'm saying. With it be
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: in my real life. I don't have to worry about
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: saying something I can't stand on.
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: That's that's amazing to me, Like how y'all can think
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: of this ship like I don't.
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: I can shout out to y'all man.
- 1:29:33Speaker 5: Everybody process is different. And when he was going through that,
- 1:29:37Speaker 5: like at some point he said he was gonna do
- 1:29:39Speaker 5: it for a year, maybe halfway through or through the
- 1:29:42Speaker 5: first year. So I hadn't dropped in like three years.
- 1:29:46Speaker 5: Just I was kind of like fuck and seeing him
- 1:29:50Speaker 5: go through that and conversation was happening because I was,
- 1:29:52Speaker 5: you know, I was on about half of those projects.
- 1:29:55Speaker 5: I kind of worked my way out of out of
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: that rug or that space, and I did I Love
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: Drug album, And it was kind of like at that time,
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: like all right, I'm gonna drop. In December, he had
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: dropped eleven projects already I thought he was about to
- 1:30:08Speaker 5: turn the corner and do step Brothers after that, because
- 1:30:11Speaker 5: he's gonna do the twelve.
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm trying to get right and kind of like
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: I got when he did the twelve one and I'm like,
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: all right, what's good? Bro?
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: He was like, I'm about to drop this January. I'm like,
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: you just did twelve.
- 1:30:26Speaker 4: He's like, do it again.
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: You know, look what happened when I did the twelve.
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: People people would cut you know, some people are gonna
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: give you credit, and a lot of people liked to
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: give back hand compliments. So one person to say, man,
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: it's amazing he did twelve records in the year. And
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: then somebody pop up and say, Poos did it first.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: Then somebody said Currency did it first. I'm like, man,
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: I don't know if they did it or not, but
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: that ain't the point. That's like saying, man about it
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: house and shit. Yeah, but my brother bought one before
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: you that matter. And I never respond to it because
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: I know how quick get and get twisted, and you know,
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: my response could couldn't make Currency turn around and read it,
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: and you know, because naturally you'd be like fuck him.
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: It's I got nothing to do with him. But it's
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: easy for that to be misconstrued. And that's the last
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: thing I want is for somebody to be able to
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: take something I said and turn it into something. I
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: pride myself on what I say, so when I start
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: seeing it, I said, all right, okay, edy time somebody
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: mentioned fucking twelve, y'all got somebody else did it? Showed
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: me somebody done twenty four. Now toil you show me
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: somebody that done twenty four. I don't respect your coming
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: by somebody else did it before I did it. I
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: had to. It was I had I had a point
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: to prove to you for a whole year.
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: Yeah, it was so much music.
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: Like me and Mike.
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: Like I told you we'd be sharing the music. He'd
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: be like, you heard a trip out. I'm like, damn, nigga,
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: I just played it. He's like, now he dropped another.
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: I said, all right, I tripped out. He had lost me.
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: Now say, looks I'm on half of them. When I
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: still call.
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: Over, I was about to say, I think that's the
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: beauty of it. I ain't put all the music out,
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: but I mean it happened. There are people who like
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: listen to every record when it dropped, and I appreciate
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: that well. I also value the person who you know,
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: out of twenty four tapes, they didn't make it past thirteen.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: That thirteen tape, they was living in that space, and
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: that's that tape speak to him. I had. It happens
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: all the time where people reach out and tell me
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: about old records. They just not hearing this record, like, man,
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: what you said on so and so so and so record? Man,
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: it spoke to me. I had been playing say let's
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: for so long, you know, I was, you know, I
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: was stuck on that and then I heard this new ship. Man,
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: I fuck with it, and I kind of look at
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: that ship like Netflix series and shiit like, you know,
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: you might not be hip to the film or the show.
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: They came out four years ago. Younounced enough of it
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: for you to binge if you want to binge if
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: you know some of us only like what we like,
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: like if shit. I got a playlist right now. It's
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: all R and B and it's probably field. It's probably
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: there might be ten records that's been put out in
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: since twenty twenty that's on this in this playlist. Everything
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: else is from me growing up or you know, whatever
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: time period it was when I heard it. So I
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: understand when people, you know, when they live with the
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: music so tough that they got no no, no ear
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: for anything else. I don't want to hear the newer shit.
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: I want to hear this. This is what I love,
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: you know, this is what drives me. And if they
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: never move on to another record, so be it.
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: I know you.
- 1:33:53Speaker 4: Hold on to it.
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: I think I was good rappers my They all know
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: my wife obviously, but my wife, she don't listen to nothing,
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: really listen to Spanish music and occasionally Little Waye.
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: So she was like your wife Spanish. Yeah, okay.
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: So I was like, that's different, don't start it makes
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: sense now, but she like out of nowhere.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: I swear to guy.
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: I never talked to her about music because me and
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: her argue about music. And she was like, the startle
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: guy can rap. He's pretty good. I'm like, I swear.
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: I started laughing and she was like what.
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: I was like, you don't know that. She was like, no,
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: I like their voice and she was like trip down trip.
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: I started crying and I was like, I'm gonna tell
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: him that were about the interview.
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: She's like, you about the interview though, right them in
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: the morning, I got I really didn't know where to
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: heard like k.
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: Like that.
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: In the morning, like in the morning, while bro, just
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: you actually.
- 1:35:24Speaker 4: What I saying this is a cool incidence.
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: About to get you. That's really I mean with that. Yeah,
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: that's back to that.
- 1:35:40Speaker 5: Like for for us as artists, I could never like
- 1:35:44Speaker 5: imagine the reach of the music where it's gonna go.
- 1:35:48Speaker 5: I made songs where I would have thought women would
- 1:35:52Speaker 5: have hated me for making a song and they be
- 1:35:55Speaker 5: the one that they take to the one that they love,
- 1:35:57Speaker 5: or you know, I make something so personal, what's so vulnerable,
- 1:36:01Speaker 5: and I'm like, maybe nobody else will be able to
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: feel this because it's just uniquely my own experience and
- 1:36:06Speaker 5: then it's the standout record or whatever.
- 1:36:09Speaker 4: So like, I mean, that's that's what's so I love
- 1:36:12Speaker 4: to know what it was.
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: Me too. I was hell a few.
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: Definitely appreciate your longevity and this ship.
- 1:36:22Speaker 11: Man.
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: Definitely appreciate y'all for pulling up to Yeah, definitely for us.
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: I can't wait for ste.
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: Tap In you got to drop onlub five twenty. We
- 1:36:36Speaker 4: appreciate that.
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: Come on, man, you know we supported up here in
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: may knife tap in sir brothers about life.
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: We appreciate y'all. We're gonna have to do this again. Man,
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: man with it. Man, I ain't you know, I don't
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: much agree to traveling to people.
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: So because you don't get along with nobody, no no
- 1:37:00Speaker 4: for me, my bad for me. I don't know.
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: It always means something to me when when people really,
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: you know, really rock with us. You know, I don't
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: got no you know, I ain't no coach sign. Nobody
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: hit you and say, you know, here's my artist or
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: here's the guy we're working with or whatever. You know,
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: if you fuck with me, you fuck with me genuinely
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: because of me. You know that ship I I couldn't
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: go without showing my appreciation back.
- 1:37:31Speaker 4: So love bro.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: I was like, ship, let's do it.
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: I'm with it.
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: We appreciate it. We definitely fun with y'all.
- 1:37:38Speaker 5: Like I mean, obviously from the shoes, you can say,
- 1:37:41Speaker 5: I'm a fan fan of the platform.
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: I wanted to talk more basketball. It was a couple
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: of things. One of my partners wanted me to bring
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: up and see if you remember playing Nashville Celtics, saying
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: he gave y'all thirty five my home, Jamie Graham.
- 1:38:01Speaker 4: That was that was one thing. You might damn thirty five.
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: Then we win.
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: I think you said y'all might have won that one
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: and they beat on another tournament that was that was
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: pretty fun.
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: But Ship, I ain't gonna lie never playing no defense.
- 1:38:20Speaker 6: He probably had thirty five shouting Bro shouting gay because
- 1:38:25Speaker 6: no defense.
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: Jam he played evanderbiltball.
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: Did playing I'm here to shoot this ball. That's what
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: I was.
- 1:38:41Speaker 5: I wanted to ask God, it's just add ball question.
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: What's your favorite basketball movie of all time?
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: My Blue Chips?
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: He got a game, bro, No, Ray Allen is the
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: greatest basketball movie character ever.
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: The basketball movie with the word script of all time.
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: I like.
- 1:39:07Speaker 4: My Who Dreams?
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: Who Dreams?
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: It was like almost like that was a documentary.
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: That was that was too real.
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: That was my and I ain't going to the NB
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: A moment.
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: Just period like was on the like Sunday Park.
- 1:39:28Speaker 6: But I like Blue Chips, damn trip part give me
- 1:39:33Speaker 6: part that the part was cool, butter, I guess about saying,
- 1:39:40Speaker 6: but playing the ball, my boy blue the ball.
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: Like Blue Chips.
- 1:39:55Speaker 2: So got because it was you know, they was good,
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: but the way they was man Vin Shepherd and the thermer.
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: Bro was putting in work.
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: Bro.
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: He shot the same shot.
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: Twenty three the same min was like quarters in a
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: fresh offen. I ain't never was a space GM fan.
- 1:40:19Speaker 2: I didn't like like toy movies and stuff like that.
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: Yea disrespect for the first place gym classic y'all say.
- 1:40:26Speaker 4: Acting that ship Tren.
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: Know if you love basketball when you was a child,
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: that you might like. I grew I got older brothers
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: and sisters, so I ain't really okay. I watched like
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: sneak and watch contas. Yeah, I don't like him. I
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: grew up thinking Alan Iverson was a creative player for real.
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: My brother was like, excuse me, no, you got know
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: my brother, like you know, I'm younger, it's real, Like, Yo.
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: You're gonna play like I'm like, who the fuck is that?
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: He's like, yeah, you're gonna play just like him, thinking
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: he didn't create this nigga in his head.
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: Something he showed me, and I was like like this
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: nigga good?
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:41:16Speaker 11: Then I got break. Y'all know it was outside.
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: I an't really watched unless it was was crazy.
- 1:41:32Speaker 4: I was.
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: I was really I didn't bro. My brother told me
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: all we watched wrestling, bro, that's all I watched.
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: Dig it, Yeah, you should watch it out and wrestling
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: That's all I watched growing up. Dang, and it probably
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: was not a good thing because I was already.
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: He took that wrestling ship to the n B.
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: A like character came on the show. He's got start player,
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: Like I said, why I couldn't play man, I would
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: have definitely been I would have been running on test.
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: I had some glimpses around our choice. Yeah, like, man,
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: he's been injected for the first seven games, every game.
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: Who is your favorite player? Growing up? Hard?
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: For sure?
- 1:42:22Speaker 4: He had laid.
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: Who is your game? Like if you said you played
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: like somebody? Man?
- 1:42:29Speaker 4: That's at the time because the time I graduated too.
- 1:42:40Speaker 2: At one point it was like the miles tall, slim
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: and ship.
- 1:42:47Speaker 4: Is that the one wagon quass too?
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: Oh too?
- 1:42:51Speaker 5: I think so year before bron that's JJ Redick in
- 1:42:55Speaker 5: them class yeah, mar Stout, Marimellow, yeah a class yeah.
- 1:43:01Speaker 5: I felt running felt and cans. We played them Junior Olympics. Hm,
- 1:43:09Speaker 5: did you give them buckets?
- 1:43:10Speaker 4: And people don't?
- 1:43:14Speaker 5: Sean mccams was the best player I'll call against the
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: court for real, Like at the time I graduated court
