- Lucas: Ciao, Luna! Ready for another episode of Learn Italian with Fexingo? Luna: Ciao, Lucas! Yes, I've been practicing my Italian from last time. Today I want to talk about picnics again—I loved that episode! Lucas: That's great! Today we'll add a few more picnic phrases. Let's start with 'Che buono!' which means 'How delicious!' or 'So good!' Say it with me: Che buono. Luna: Che buono. That's fun! So if I eat a tasty sandwich, I can say 'Che buono!'? Lucas: Exactly. Next phrase: 'Prendiamo una coperta.' That means 'Let's take a blanket.' Prendiamo una coperta. Luna: Prendiamo una coperta. Hmm, 'prendiamo' is like 'we take'? Lucas: Right. From the verb 'prendere'. Good catch. Now let's use it: 'Vuoi un panino?' — 'Do you want a sandwich?' Vuoi un panino. Luna: Vuoi un panino. Sì, voglio un panino! And if it's tasty, I say 'Grazie, è delizioso.' — 'Thanks, it's delicious.' Grazie, è delizioso. Lucas: Perfect. And if you're hungry, you can say 'Ho fame.' — 'I'm hungry.' Ho fame. Luna: Ho fame. I'm always hungry at a picnic! Let's practice a little scene. Lucas: Okay, I'll invite you. 'Luna, prendiamo una coperta e andiamo al parco. Ho fame.' You respond. Luna: 'Sì, prendiamo una coperta. Vuoi un panino?' — 'Yes, let's take a blanket. Do you want a sandwich?' Lucas: 'Sì, grazie. Che buono! Grazie, è delizioso.' Great! Luna: Wait, I have a question. What if the food isn't good? Can I say 'Non è buono'? Lucas: Absolutely! 'Non è buono' works. But hopefully your picnic food is always 'che buono'. Luna: For sure. Now, I remember from the last picnic episode we learned 'il picnic' and 'Ho fame' is new. This is building up nicely. Lucas: Yeah. And if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with Italian, the way these stay ad-free is listener support. If today was useful, you can buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Just a small way to keep the show going. Luna: That's right. It helps us keep making these little episodes. Okay, back to the picnic! So 'Prendiamo una coperta' — I love that. Lucas: Me too. Let's hear all the phrases once more. Repeat after me: Che buono. Luna: Che buono. Lucas: Prendiamo una coperta. Luna: Prendiamo una coperta. Lucas: Vuoi un panino? Luna: Vuoi un panino? Lucas: Grazie, è delizioso. Luna: Grazie, è delizioso. Lucas: Ho fame. Luna: Ho fame. Lucas: Now you're ready for a picnic in Italy. Or just to impress your friends. Luna: I'm going to use 'Che buono' all the time. Thanks, Lucas! See you next time for more Italian. Lucas: Arrivederci! Practice these phrases till we chat again.
