A major police operation is underway on the east side as authorities hunt for Alex James Barnett, a 33-year-old wanted suspect linked to the fatal shooting of Tucson police recruit Carlos Ramirez. Barnett’s brother says he hasn’t spoken to him in seven years and doubts he was even at the locked-down apartment complex. Police also raided Barnett’s home Friday. Meanwhile, Barnett’s fiancée—a 23-year-old corrections officer—was shot in the shoulder during an attack while their child was present.
