- 0:02My wallet is sobbing. I can hear it.
- 0:04I can hear it in the hall now. It is breaking down crying.
- 0:08It turns out that Attila the arrogant so and so he's got a
- 0:12fake hammer. Oh.
- 0:13A fake? Yeah.
- 0:14Whoa. As I say, Dick.
- 0:17All right, welcome to episode 148 of the Allegiance podcast.
- 0:23And this week we're recording a little bit later than usual, so
- 0:27we're going to try and get as much in as possible and still
- 0:30get this out reasonably on time. So Mal, how are you?
- 0:35I am good. Thank you.
- 0:37Eh, nearly the end of the week, which I am really looking
- 0:40forward to. Yeah.
- 0:41And that's. If we should be in better form
- 0:43now, it's Thursday. So yeah, you know.
- 0:45Thursday nights There's only one day left in the week and Rich,
- 0:49how's how's things? I felt better, let's put it that
- 0:52way. I'm the reason we're recording
- 0:54on a Thursday rather than a Wednesday.
- 0:56Yesterday was just spent on the sofa with a duvet.
- 0:59You're. So precious.
- 1:03I am very precious, I know. Imagine if you were a girl.
- 1:11Imagine kind of a wife. You'd be.
- 1:14Oh, I'd be a high maintenance one, but.
- 1:16Yeah, I think so, Yeah. You can't really be that.
- 1:18You can't really be as a man that that maintenance.
- 1:21Yeah, let's face it, I'd also be a trophy wife.
- 1:24It would be an honest as well sort of thing, so.
- 1:27OK, we let the listeners decide what kind of trophy that is.
- 1:32Anyway, this week we are going to talk about the little bit of
- 1:36latest news. So eh, this will come out just
- 1:39before they reveal, eh, the next Infinite Legions wave, which we
- 1:43will talk about in more detail next week.
- 1:45And that's our can, the Joe Manganiello thing and whatever
- 1:49else. They said there'd be more
- 1:50surprises. So let's cross our fingers for
- 1:54lots of cool stuff there. And they also released the
- 1:58Fighting Box Arts. We'll have a quick look at that
- 2:00now in a minute. And also we're going to continue
- 2:05on with the bad opinions, eh, from legions.
- 2:08So get through a bunch more of those to fill out the episode.
- 2:12That should be fun. And eh, first of all, we should
- 2:16say that, eh, Saturday night this week is gonna be riches
- 2:21season opening quiz on the we're going to.
- 2:26Have a eh as they say. Umm yeah.
- 2:30I'm not sure where, but they'd say that.
- 2:32So yeah, it's it's looking back at.
- 2:35So there'll be a few rounds of questions looking back at
- 2:39legions in hand stuff from last year, some reveals from last
- 2:42year. There'll be some drawings from
- 2:44me. And also as it's still January,
- 2:48just we'll also have my now infamous.
- 2:51I think infamous is the right term 10 and Christmas movies as
- 2:56drawn by me. See if people can do better than
- 2:59like 3 out of 10 or everyone's people was growing last year.
- 3:01So. Sounds good they.
- 3:04Probably won't because obviously I used a lot of the big films
- 3:06last year. So, you know, we have to go a
- 3:08bit a little bit more obscure this time, but.
- 3:11What time are we kicking off? It is 7:00 PM UK time which is
- 3:162:00 PM Eastern Time in this. Year.
- 3:19And whatever other time zone people are in.
- 3:21That is 8:00 in Central European time.
- 3:24So I think that's most of the time zones.
- 3:27I'm not going to do Australia, even though I guess it's some
- 3:31sort of daytime there. So that's not too bad, you know,
- 3:35and right. Shall we have a look then?
- 3:39At first I, should I? Shouldn't quickly add sorry as
- 3:44well. Just if MD is thinking about
- 3:46coming along to the quiz, you know it's it is good fun.
- 3:50You can have a go on on, you know yourself.
- 3:52You can pop the answers or you think of the answers into the
- 3:54comments if you want to. Some of the contestants may or
- 3:56may not use the answers Mal. Will undoubtedly need help, so
- 4:01might take you up on that. I I was going to suggest that
- 4:04even if it is lunchtime in America, in the states, let's
- 4:07say America, the states bring some alcohol because it's the
- 4:10only way you're going to get through it.
- 4:15And an even better news, I may not be on the show so you won't
- 4:18have to listen to me. So it's another bonus might be
- 4:21the first two reasons without me.
- 4:23So there you go, a part from riches randoms which you have to
- 4:26pay for it to listen to. They're worth every penny just
- 4:29to clear of. Course they are very high.
- 4:31I really. Enjoy listening to them,
- 4:33definitely. And yeah, and next week.
- 4:36So this week we had, Oh my God, Brent, JTJ Colligan.
- 4:42Yes, this week we had TJ Colligan and next week Jeremy
- 4:46Govier, king of the Demon Wing tally.
- 4:50Yeah, Speaking of time zones, he confused the hell out of me
- 4:52because he's like, oh, it's Arizona, right?
- 4:54That's Pacific Standard Time, 8 hours behind us.
- 4:57So I messaged him and he was like no no, this time of year
- 4:58we're Mountain Standard Time so it's 7 hours off.
- 5:03Did they just move to mountains in for the winter?
- 5:05Is it? Apparently, apparently Arizona
- 5:07doesn't like, you know, change the daylight and savings time
- 5:12and that sort of stuff. So just like we're here so you
- 5:14guys can just move to us or move away from us.
- 5:17Right. OK, so, so they didn't change.
- 5:20It's just everyone has changed. So effectively, they changed.
- 5:23Yeah. OK.
- 5:25Fighting box art. So this is a cool little sneak
- 5:28peek and posted on the Four Horsemen channels and looks
- 5:33pretty cool. Pretty purple and kind of
- 5:36pinkish here. What do you think, Mal?
- 5:39I know this is your jam, possibly forcing you to keep one
- 5:43in box or not. I must admit I saw the box.
- 5:45I was like, damn it, yeah, it's very cool.
- 5:50But it's, it's feels quite different to what we normally
- 5:54get, doesn't it? A bit more sketchy, a bit more
- 5:57loose than some of what we we usually get.
- 6:00And I really, really like it. Yeah, I think it's, I'm guessing
- 6:07that it's going to be particular for each Infinite Legions line.
- 6:10So I hope so. This doesn't mean that the box
- 6:13art on you know the arc and infinite Legions is going to be
- 6:17same shape or anything you know would be my guess.
- 6:20I think you're. Going to be spot on that one.
- 6:24Yeah, but this if they're doing more on the on our design stuff
- 6:29in the future, I guess this is set the standard then for how
- 6:32they're going to look. Yeah, so very nicely done there
- 6:37you see all the info cup of product photograph and an art
- 6:43drawing. So this was done between Matt
- 6:48and Mark from O'Neill Design and then Nate Barch from the studio.
- 6:52Thank you people. People could have got confused
- 6:54and thinking it was me. It's not me.
- 6:56No, I know it looks like the sort of level I do stuff, but
- 6:59it's not me. No, you would take much longer
- 7:02to do yours. Yours wouldn't be ready in time
- 7:05for production, let's be honest. Yeah, so they have already
- 7:11wrapped up apparently and are leaving the factory or left the
- 7:15factory. So we should be seeing them
- 7:18pretty soon. If you have them on pre-order
- 7:20from a retailer, I suppose expect the invoice pretty soon.
- 7:24I got a surprise invoice today from the Rising Suns from a
- 7:26retailer and I didn't know I ordered some from.
- 7:30John, you know what you need? A spreadsheet sheet.
- 7:36I started a spreadsheet and then I keep forgetting to update it,
- 7:39so yeah, you. Need to keep on top of that, so
- 7:41yeah. Yeah.
- 7:43Well, this was a different retailer and I think it was
- 7:45because they and it was towards the end of the pre.
- 7:49I ordered some at the start of the pre-order and then this was
- 7:52towards the end of the pre-order and I think I wanted more of
- 7:54those dwarf heads. And then I decided, well, you
- 7:57know, I suppose at the time financial situation was looking
- 8:01all right. And I decided, you know, I'll
- 8:03add a few more and and maybe also customising and stuff
- 8:07you're thinking I might use this, might use that.
- 8:10But to you, as you said before, 2 years down the line, the
- 8:13picking up stuff for customs is a little bit like, well, I don't
- 8:16really need them anymore. Yeah.
- 8:18So we shall see. And there is a, you see the logo
- 8:24pretty cool. And space traveller fighting is
- 8:27what it's called so. I mean, we'll, we'll find out
- 8:31later this week, but I wonder if the way Infinite Legions is
- 8:34written will change as well. On from product.
- 8:38Product. That's not the right word from
- 8:41IP. Property to property, yeah.
- 8:43Yeah, that would be cool if it did, yeah.
- 8:46Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then somehow keep the same
- 8:49style. I don't know how they do that,
- 8:51but you know, just put a little flourish in each one.
- 8:54Dragon scaly or something like that?
- 8:56Yeah, maybe something like that, Like the the, the, yeah, the
- 8:59texture of the. Well, you can give them some art
- 9:04tips on how to do that. Exactly.
- 9:06Do you know what I mean? Give me a laptop, a Word
- 9:08document on my finger and we are good to go.
- 9:11And word art and. And sounds dirtier than it's
- 9:15meant to. I keep expecting, and I've not
- 9:20had it yet, for the local colleges to come and ask me to
- 9:22start teaching art, but apparently that's not on the
- 9:25syllabus at the moment. Yeah, I don't know.
- 9:29It's, it's pretty tough business to make money at.
- 9:32So you might be better sticking where you're at just I.
- 9:35Think so, yeah. But you know, maybe post
- 9:37retirement you could have a little pension top up with your
- 9:41art, you know? Yeah, I could make like £2 a
- 9:43year, something like that. Yeah.
- 9:45See but back handing me a dollar a time legions con.
- 9:48Is everyone getting anything? You go probably don't even need
- 9:50to declare that to Mr HMRC, right?
- 9:57And then ARC and the crew. So here's the schedule for it.
- 10:02Schedule or schedule? Which one is the English saying
- 10:05I've? It's one of those words where?
- 10:07I think we're Schedule I. Always say schedule.
- 10:11Yeah. OK, OK, there you go.
- 10:13I set it right then, eh Joe, Manager Nello's ARC and the
- 10:17crews of Friday 13th of January when this basically releases at
- 10:21least our time early on Friday comes out probably early
- 10:24Thursday or late Thursday on US time very late and 8:00 Eastern.
- 10:32So Saturday morning job for us really, isn't it here?
- 10:35Yeah, yeah. That's two in the morning of
- 10:37you, John. One in the morning here.
- 10:38It's like, yeah. Friday night so I might stay up
- 10:42but I'm not sure I will I'm. We'll see.
- 10:45Yeah, yeah. Almost done with Try January.
- 10:48That's all I can see here. And 8:30 PM Eastern is so 8:00
- 10:58PM is the documentary so that they have 1/2 an hour
- 11:00documentary. Yeah, behind the scenes stuff.
- 11:03They did that with the fading as well as the the glass.
- 11:07Was very cool. Very cool.
- 11:09I have to be, I've not seen the fading one, but I'm really
- 11:11looking forward to documentary for this one.
- 11:13Yeah, quite excited. Fading one's worth a watch.
- 11:16Yeah, very well produced, Brad, and the studio does a really
- 11:19good job there. Umm, 8:30 PM then is the live
- 11:23stream special revealed special. So it's 8:30 to 9:00 PM.
- 11:28So can't imagine it's a huge amount of figures even though,
- 11:33you know, we've seen pretty much what Archon comes with and
- 11:36everything else. So yeah.
- 11:38And then 9:00 Eastern Time, the pre-order goes up on Store
- 11:41Horsemen. And then I wanted to show here
- 11:46Joe Manganiello has this dark order.
- 11:49It goes with his Archon kind of lower or whatever.
- 11:56And there's a couple of figures here.
- 11:58These are miniatures that come with this pack from Wiz Kids.
- 12:04Never heard of that but they probably make more DND stuff
- 12:08that we just not aware of as a minotaur here and he's the
- 12:16bodyguard of our can. Tara Gar.
- 12:18Steel Fist. That's the one, yeah.
- 12:21So I think he might be a favourite.
- 12:23If we're going to get another figure with our can, he might be
- 12:26my favourite. This is who I've predicted will
- 12:29get because I feel like they can use existing parts and then
- 12:34sculpt extra bits for him, yeah. I think I agreed him out.
- 12:39You know they can use some existing parts and also they
- 12:41could choose parts from this for an A stereo version 2 or.
- 12:45Maybe scale them up to? Brood.
- 12:48Yeah, well, very well. I sort of, although his legs
- 12:52don't look like it. I initially thought maybe it's
- 12:55New Jersey devil legs and a brute scale torso.
- 13:01We'll see. And then you just need the new
- 13:03head, obviously. Yeah.
- 13:05So he's very cool. The next one is the turtle.
- 13:12This is you I want if I had my witch.
- 13:14This is you I want. I am death.
- 13:17Cleric, I am with you, Rich. I would prefer this guy.
- 13:20I really, really like the way he looks.
- 13:22But I'm just he's a lot of new parts.
- 13:25And you sculpt. Yeah, which we might get.
- 13:29You never know. I.
- 13:30Mean Archan is pretty much yeah you partly I was struggling to
- 13:35see on him where where the existing parts are.
- 13:38There isn't any. I think he's.
- 13:39I think looking at this guy, I think he could easily send some
- 13:42of those parts. It's like a rock man or
- 13:44something like that. The feature use.
- 13:47Yeah, all the right turtle characters.
- 13:52Yeah, well, yeah. He's he's very cool.
- 13:55Not really like a very cool. Yeah, he could go straight into
- 13:59the convocation of Basilia, or the death Clerics are probably
- 14:05Poxus, unfortunately. Yeah.
- 14:10Berserker, some man telling me here that this is probably not
- 14:14going to happen even though he would be the most likely parents
- 14:16wise. Yes, I originally, so when I was
- 14:20doing my research originally, I read that this guy and the demon
- 14:25were part of the Dark Order, but I've done more reading recently
- 14:29and they're not. These were minions added to this
- 14:31pack for the to fight and, you know, to add more characters to
- 14:36do your DND campaign. So yeah.
- 14:41So yeah, we can kind of skip over him.
- 14:43But yeah, it would be reasonably generic barbarian Cool one I
- 14:46mean, but. I wouldn't mind him at some
- 14:48point, but I don't. I think he's owned by Dungeons
- 14:51and by, well, who is it? We said.
- 14:52Sort of because. DND don't they?
- 14:55So he's only not Joe Mangan, Ellie and this is the demon that
- 15:01probably. Don't get him.
- 15:03I'd be shy. I'd be shy.
- 15:06Yeah. So he's also one that we
- 15:07probably won't get because it's not.
- 15:10Yeah, part of the Dark Order. It's more part of this eh pack.
- 15:15Pretty cool. Though, Yeah, I mean.
- 15:18We've got all the parts pretty much, haven't we?
- 15:20There's one or two little bits that, yeah.
- 15:22Yeah, but we can skip over him this going with Manticore
- 15:28Changa. The Manticore, he's very cool.
- 15:32Yeah. This would be new tooling.
- 15:35This would be like a battle cat kind of do word wings.
- 15:39But which we could use Exciting. Sorry, Rich, go on.
- 15:42No, it's good. I'm just going to say.
- 15:43But you could use some of that tooling for a gryphon or
- 15:45something like that exactly that quite easily.
- 15:48So there is the reuse potential there.
- 15:50Yeah, it would be incredibly exciting what it might mean for
- 15:53legions, maybe, if they did well.
- 15:56Yeah. It's been hinted to us that we
- 15:59are going to get him at some point, so that'll be amazing if
- 16:04it's tomorrow, yeah. Tomorrow, yeah.
- 16:07Saturday, tomorrow, today, if, if you're listening to this and
- 16:09the day goes out and we're completely wrong if you're
- 16:12listening to it on Saturday, so or after.
- 16:17I don't think we'll get the man score this and I think we'll get
- 16:18the man score as well, but I would imagine to be a bit
- 16:20further down the line. So that's this this little pack.
- 16:23I just want to put it in there just to acknowledge this where
- 16:25these pictures come from and you see they're miniatures.
- 16:29So I think that's those pictures at the art more than the
- 16:33miniatures themselves or the renters, whatever, and Arkan
- 16:38himself. See, see their how I was
- 16:41struggling to find any existing legions parts.
- 16:46Maybe the maybe the Cape when you're when you're saying soft
- 16:51goods. Yeah, this is a totally new
- 16:52thing, which is it's a funny one.
- 16:55I thought the infinite legions was to to kind of use the
- 16:58legions build system. And I suppose this will be the
- 17:00same build system, but it's an entirely new library.
- 17:04I mean, it's a. It's a.
- 17:05Complaining now, No. No, it's interesting because it
- 17:08opens up. All.
- 17:10Sorts of possibilities if they're willing to do a
- 17:12completely, you know. Maybe you've sculpt it's based
- 17:17on like the likelihood of it selling a lot more than maybe
- 17:23even Mythic Legion or you know, the reaching outside the core
- 17:27community. So.
- 17:28Yes, potentially is going to appeal to D&D fans.
- 17:32And he was in on Critical Role, so there's a lot of Critical
- 17:38Role fans. It's.
- 17:41Got the potential to be huge this one.
- 17:42Yeah. And then one more, every left
- 17:47field shelter I will throw out thanks to our friend Anthony
- 17:51Hoci, who flagged this up to us this morning and it was posted,
- 17:55him and Pat Boyd posted in a lot of places today.
- 17:58So it's not kind of secret between friends anymore or
- 18:02anything. But he shouted out possibly
- 18:05these, one of these figures, which is Joe Manganiello's DND
- 18:14campaign, he has a bunch of characters and this artist, Max
- 18:18Dunbar to art for them. And this guy on the left here on
- 18:23the bear, the dwarf, of course, what Anthony is shouting out.
- 18:28And this, this we pretty much have the parts for.
- 18:31Yeah, maybe the head. Need a new head?
- 18:36I think I said this in our chat, didn't I?
- 18:39Unfortunately, I mean, I don't know.
- 18:41It will depend. If Joe Manganiello owns
- 18:46everything about this campaign, he's doing it.
- 18:49He might do, in which case we possibly could get some of
- 18:52these. But if he doesn't, then we're
- 18:54not getting them away. Oh, it's unlikely we're getting
- 18:57them, Yeah. It's some very cool, it's quite
- 19:00left field show and it doesn't really go with ARC and as my
- 19:04point here, maybe more so than anything on this, like there's
- 19:08no relationship between the characters as such, so why would
- 19:12they go together and but a cool dwarf and eh, you never know.
- 19:17So. And the dude on the far right,
- 19:19which you almost second ago, John Murray's half burnt.
- 19:22That's a pretty cool looking character.
- 19:24Yeah, that's your, that's your speed, isn't?
- 19:27It. Oh yeah.
- 19:28That was one at the back as well that looked pretty cool.
- 19:30Yeah, on that side. Let's see that if you scroll the
- 19:35other one. That sort of, well, the Dark
- 19:41Archer looks cool, but the guy with the wings and the.
- 19:44Oh yeah, yeah, it's not even. It's like a night, almost.
- 19:48It was almost like a night. Yeah, very cool.
- 19:55All right, so I think that's the news.
- 19:58Do you have any news guys Relate to legions?
- 20:01Now. Or what we talked about in the
- 20:03podcast, The He Man movie. We're excited for that.
- 20:07Very excited. Very, yeah.
- 20:09After seeing the trailer, I think if you'd asked me before
- 20:11seeing anything would be like Nope.
- 20:13But now the trailer makes a little It looks fun.
- 20:16Even if it's not the best film, it looks a fun film that they've
- 20:19actually spent some money on. And they revealed a bunch of the
- 20:24figures as well. Yeah, they're decent.
- 20:29I wouldn't say they're my thing, they're a little bit too
- 20:34unpainted for me in terms of what I'm used to.
- 20:38Mythics like stuff like the faces are more of the plastic
- 20:42colour with a bit of paint. I just hate that really that
- 20:46these days A. Couple of them I really like the
- 20:49look of. I do agree with people and what
- 20:51means what people are saying under some of them but a couple
- 20:53of my real like I think the heat and figure looks really cool.
- 20:59And somebody needs to give them a lesson on weathering for men
- 21:01of derms armour. It's it's horrendous.
- 21:04Well, watching the pixel down thing and I this is weird to me.
- 21:08You pointed out it's actually like it's patina, but I have
- 21:12never in my life thought he was wearing copper armour to have.
- 21:17Yeah, there is Where there? Is elements of like that kind of
- 21:21greenish patina colour in there? Mixed them on the gold.
- 21:24Does gold patina is another question.
- 21:26Maybe. I don't, I don't think.
- 21:28But I think, I think that's why gold.
- 21:30Is always like yellow painted more on top of you know.
- 21:34Yeah. So isn't it one of the reasons
- 21:37why gold is valuable is because it doesn't, Yeah.
- 21:40Pasta or anything, Yeah. Doesn't weather, yeah.
- 21:46Anyway, I thought. It was interesting with the toys
- 21:48that you saw the Trap Jaw face on.
- 21:52Obviously all you saw was a back of him in there in the trailer
- 21:55and then you saw what Triclops are going to look like as well
- 21:57and he wasn't in the trailer at all, I don't think Boiler for
- 21:59trying. So yeah.
- 22:01That that is then the one thing I would say he comes with that
- 22:04sniper rifle, which is a cool idea.
- 22:06And I don't know much about the Motu law, but wasn't he like a
- 22:10blade master? Wasn't Triclops meant to be an
- 22:13excellent swordsman? And they look like they might
- 22:15have eliminated that altogether. Yeah, but he does have the, you
- 22:19know, the all seeing eye thing in the head.
- 22:21And he's, he's very tech. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:24Tech focused as well so. I thought they have to.
- 22:27Choose a. Really cool, a really cool
- 22:28design for him. Yeah, it did.
- 22:31It actually looks a bit like AGI Joe.
- 22:34So someone else? He does, yeah.
- 22:37And Tina looks a bit like AGI Joe as well as well.
- 22:40We like GI Joe, so it's not bad thing.
- 22:42But is it well too? They've also said they're closer
- 22:46to the six inch scale as well, aren't they?
- 22:48So they're kind of sounds like they're scaling them to fit with
- 22:51your Joes and your smile, which is interesting.
- 22:56It probably. The DC line they're going to be
- 22:57doing taking off from Todd. That's a good shaft.
- 23:01Yeah, yeah. Which the teasers we've seen in
- 23:04them and even though it's the kids line, they look like they
- 23:06could be good, could be really good.
- 23:10But all I'd say is after getting back into collecting, maybe it's
- 23:14over maybe 12 years ago now with Masters of the Universe at the
- 23:18start mainly, there was never any notion that we'd get a movie
- 23:26at all. Definitely no notion it would
- 23:29look this good and have this much money behind it.
- 23:34And we're going to have so much other related stuff to the
- 23:38movie. So I mean, if you like Origins,
- 23:40they're going to keep making those.
- 23:41I can tell you that much for a while, you know, And if you
- 23:45like, you know, merchandise, be it, you know, duvet covers, for
- 23:50example, they'll probably be some of those.
- 23:52They'll probably be sticker books.
- 23:53They'll probably be all sorts of stuff.
- 23:55So you know it'll be MO to heaven come next summer.
- 24:01Yeah. And we get to go to the cinema,
- 24:03so that's always a good thing, isn't it Rich?
- 24:05And I get to go on my birthday because it releases on my
- 24:07birthday. Yes.
- 24:08I can use it as a birthday treat.
- 24:10So I'm, you know, headed over there to watch that.
- 24:14Tripoli. Happy days.
- 24:15Tripoli happy days, Right. Bad opinions?
- 24:19Let's get into it. Are we?
- 24:20Are we feeling? Are we feeling angry?
- 24:22Are we feeling happy? Where do you?
- 24:24Want to? I'm feeling ill, so unless, you
- 24:25know, I probably won't be as riled up.
- 24:27Maybe as always a couple of times last time.
- 24:29But let's give it a go. We'll we'll see how it tries.
- 24:34It's January so we can we definitely angrier than normal
- 24:37so. This is true.
- 24:40Arthur would look better without the gauges.
- 24:41That's the the round ear things. I guess that's it.
- 24:45That depends on your opinion about those type of things.
- 24:48It's a very niche opinion for me.
- 24:50Yeah, he looks, he's cool. He's got a cool design.
- 24:53I don't offend anyone that has gauges, you know, I think it's a
- 24:57cool. They wanted to make a metal less
- 24:59pretty metal. Yeah, yeah.
- 25:02Well, my colleagues work has got 1 gauge which I didn't know it's
- 25:05called that until now. So I've learned something today,
- 25:08but I think that it looks fine. Yeah, I don't think it.
- 25:11I wonder if they think it looks too modern, but I don't think it
- 25:13does. And Hitman was looking up to see
- 25:19if it looks weird. I always thought the people with
- 25:241 gauge just it was hurt too much that they didn't go through
- 25:28with the second one, no? I don't think so with my
- 25:31colleague, but I don't know. I'll have to ask if these.
- 25:33Are cartoonishly big. This is someone that never had a
- 25:362.0 figure. I mean, I think cartoonishly big
- 25:45is a bit harsh. They are big, but one of the
- 25:49things I love about Legions is that chunky feel to them and
- 25:54yeah, you know, they've got a big ish head, they've got AI
- 25:57mean they're out. They're not in any kind of real
- 25:59proportion really, are they? But so it's.
- 26:04Fantasy proportion. Yeah, exactly.
- 26:07It's never occurs to me for a second that the feet.
- 26:08Were big, but they stand well the one point zeros anyway, so
- 26:13I'll take that as a positive. Well, this, you know, the
- 26:15armoured feet, I mean armour has to be bigger than your foot,
- 26:19much bigger. And the kind of float like
- 26:23Bardrick Valach feet, they're pretty spot on, I would say
- 26:27scale wise what they need to be. And the leather boots never
- 26:32stuck out to me that that was bad.
- 26:34Or the barefoot. You're right.
- 26:36So you're right. I'm going to say no, don't
- 26:39agree. Yeah.
- 26:40Yeah. Maybe some of the deal with
- 26:44ridiculously small feet themselves.
- 26:48So they're just bitter and twisted.
- 26:50And you know what you say about small feet?
- 26:52Well, I don't want to go there, but yeah.
- 26:54We need more MO 2 homages. Well, definitely now after what
- 26:57we just talked about. I think I would say no to this.
- 27:02I've never been a huge fan of the the the motor.
- 27:04Homos reason I have to admit. But we do need a claw for
- 27:07homage, so if they could do that and then stop, I'd be fine.
- 27:10But you like operative 83, so amended arms?
- 27:14Yeah, I mean, they were better in the cosmic realm than they do
- 27:16in the the mythic. Like David's cosmic one?
- 27:19Buzz off. Yeah, and the diddles be very
- 27:22happy, but some of them like the trap jaw one, just like Nah.
- 27:27You see, I often I quite like them because they are such a
- 27:31departure from the normal figures I kind of like.
- 27:36What you're not so keen about them I guess is is that they're
- 27:40brightly coloured and and and almost don't quite fit with the
- 27:43rest of the line. So I'm all for them.
- 27:47Yeah, I'm same as e-mail more for them and if they did a sub
- 27:50line and infinite legions line that was multi homages, I'd say
- 27:54bring it on. I guess it'd probably work a
- 27:57little better than as they'd be within their own their own
- 28:00thing. Yeah, yeah.
- 28:03Suppose it, yeah, it depends how, Yeah.
- 28:05How in the Lord you are, how in the factions you are, how in the
- 28:09aesthetic you are. Maybe for for these?
- 28:12It's aesthetics for me. It's like chronal without blue
- 28:15torso and then Okiatos with a bright blue and I was like Nah.
- 28:21OK, this one whispers. I don't follow the lore or
- 28:24factions at all. If it fits in my own personal
- 28:27universe, in my own head, then I get it, I'd say.
- 28:31Good. Really fine.
- 28:33Yeah. Well done.
- 28:34Well done. Yeah.
- 28:35There's nothing wrong with that. Yeah, I'm doing well.
- 28:37I'm I'm doing the same with Savage Crucible because some of
- 28:40what they do, I really like a lot of it.
- 28:41I'm not, so far a lot of it I'm not that fussed about.
- 28:45Rich is massive for doing his own factions and things.
- 28:48I think do what you like if you think it's a cool.
- 28:50Figure you only pick up the awoks you like Rich, not the
- 28:54other one. The stake of our PG family
- 29:00friendly rating. I won't respond to that as I.
- 29:02Want to don't make me do next one.
- 29:07I'm tired of every male mage character being old and bald.
- 29:11I want more majors with longer hair.
- 29:14Hell in general I just want more male characters with long hair.
- 29:17Not everyone needs to have short hair or bald.
- 29:21Couldn't agree more. Yeah, I'm 100% in on this.
- 29:26I think generally you need as many bald characters as you can,
- 29:29but for majors, yeah, just get some more air going.
- 29:32I'm all for variety, yeah, or whatever we get.
- 29:35I'm easy on that. If it looks cool, it looks cool.
- 29:37Whether it's bald. I think I've mentioned this
- 29:40before, I think maybe which way when we got him I know I was a
- 29:45bit salty on that wave in general and I think with him I
- 29:48just thought come on, another bald beardy guy.
- 29:50He looks the same as the other Wizards, Pretty much, yeah.
- 29:56Rich, you're just hoping they'll hit you on to your likeness by
- 29:59accident, aren't you? You never know.
- 30:01You never know. That would be awesome.
- 30:04That is one thing we're missing is a character with mutton
- 30:07chops, which I know Rich hasn't got them at the moment, but.
- 30:11Yeah, couldn't have them for a long time, Rich, let's be
- 30:13honest. No.
- 30:14Well, we've got the the Captain ions got like we come in in a
- 30:17couple of years, but. Oh yeah, of course, yes.
- 30:19Of. Course.
- 30:21Yeah, mutton chops were a long, long time ago.
- 30:24Yeah, Yeah. Dragon ain't worth it.
- 30:28Don't know. It's, it's very relative, isn't
- 30:32it? Yeah.
- 30:33If it's if it's not worth it to you, that's fine.
- 30:36To me, it was well worth it. Yeah.
- 30:39I'd say, I think if you compare it to like big releases by the
- 30:44companies, then it's absolutely worth a dollar because you're
- 30:48getting so much stuff for the price.
- 30:50You know if like Hasbro put that out would be $1000 at least.
- 30:55Yeah, look at those. The Thunder Tank from Super 7.
- 31:00MMM, any of their big stuff. It's generally just big kind of
- 31:04symmetrical hunks of plastic with a bit of minimal paint work
- 31:07on it. Minimal paint, yeah.
- 31:09Minimal sculpt in a way well. And then look at what Mattel
- 31:13wanted the wants for most of the UMM, not Mattel has probably
- 31:19once. For most house labs it's like
- 31:22three, £400 for something you know?
- 31:29Yeah, yeah. It's why I didn't go despite
- 31:31being my my favourite vehicles that the, the Snowcad with the
- 31:35GI Joe has Lab. It's like it's really cool, but
- 31:38it's also $300 or £300 or wherever it was.
- 31:42And there's hardly any paint apps and this sort of stuff.
- 31:44And you're like, he's really struggled to justify it on that
- 31:47sort of thing. Whereas a dragon, there's so
- 31:49much stuff going on, Yeah. And you know, with it being
- 31:53legions, the build quality will be, you know, and having even
- 31:58just seen the prototype, the build quality on that alone is
- 32:02is incredible. So hmm.
- 32:05Yeah, absolutely. Right.
- 32:09There's a longer one here. Generally I like version 2 of
- 32:11characters much more to much more to much more than version
- 32:17ones. So Gideon version 2 is my lead
- 32:20leading legion of the year. But the big exception to me is
- 32:23Vargas for Amelius. Paint off sculpt soft goods are
- 32:27simpler than on version 2, but for me that versions 1
- 32:31simplicity and paint tech make it simply iconic and my second
- 32:37favourite mythics figure. So still not your favourite.
- 32:42It's a bit disappointing here this whole comment, you know?
- 32:47I mean, again, it comes down to choice, doesn't it?
- 32:50Yeah, I, I, I understand what they're saying about Fergus
- 32:55Familius, but they're kind of for me, He's.
- 32:59Different enough that, yeah, basically keep both of them.
- 33:03That's my opinion on them. Yeah, I think there's such a
- 33:06difference in them and the style and the way they're done.
- 33:10The the first one is unique enough definitely to keep and
- 33:14you don't and you know, whereas for example Gideon version one
- 33:19don't need to keep him if you have version 2, you know, unless
- 33:22you just have kind of sentimental attachment.
- 33:24I was going to say again though, it comes down to they are
- 33:29different enough I suppose. I suppose it's all armour
- 33:33versus. It's the paint job on version 1
- 33:37is really unique and different, you know?
- 33:39Yeah, yeah. What do you think the law with
- 33:42it, I mean, they're basically said with the law, you know,
- 33:44it's, it goes from wearer to wearer.
- 33:47Yeah. So that in itself, you know, the
- 33:49armour will look different depending on who it goes to.
- 33:51You know, if you know, 1 vampire is not the same.
- 33:54Yeah, so it's going to look a bit different.
- 33:55So I got no problem at all with the second one.
- 33:58In fact I sold my first one to get and kept the second one.
- 34:01So it's. Fair enough.
- 34:02Yeah, Whatever people like, OK. More mounts than just horses and
- 34:09a bear. Yeah.
- 34:10Agreed, I agree and disagree with this.
- 34:13So yes, change, change them up, but less mounts generally
- 34:17because they take up so much display space.
- 34:20I'm sure our our American listeners with their massive
- 34:23basements and all these sort of things will be fine with it.
- 34:25But you know, but over here in the UK, there's just not enough
- 34:29space for all these. Yeah, I've only got my well,
- 34:32I've got the four horses for the four horsemen and the two.
- 34:46Oh, the headless horsemen. Yeah, headless.
- 34:48The two headless. Horsemen on display.
- 34:50The rest of them are all still in their boxes in cupboards
- 34:52because there's I haven't got the display space.
- 34:55Yeah, yeah. So like Ballias and Boreas and
- 34:58those guys. Yeah, yeah.
- 35:01KDS Horse, yeah. We talked at the time.
- 35:04I went berserk when they first announced the horses and I think
- 35:06I ordered 11 Ballias and yeah, 3 or 4.
- 35:09Ather, but they're right. Did you realise that your house
- 35:13was small back then? Well, I did, but I think, I
- 35:15don't know, I don't think I was just excited about horses or
- 35:17what, but it just once you've got the first box in hand,
- 35:20you're like, yeah, I can't display the heat.
- 35:22So I've got 2 Ballias left and they're on display and that's
- 35:25great, but you know. Did you ever think when you were
- 35:27doing those orders that you'd be on a podcast one day saying, no,
- 35:31I don't want as many months, you know, nice months?
- 35:34No previous rich was more foolish.
- 35:38I think they're amongst the best looking horses you can bar
- 35:41brilliant horses. I will say they've got a seam on
- 35:44their tail that's really annoying and it's affected my
- 35:48error. Athon OK, but yeah, but.
- 35:53Yeah, another one you're talking about.
- 35:55Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I don't.
- 36:01I love the horses. I think they're great.
- 36:02I do think we have a lot now. I think Rich is probably right,
- 36:05definitely on those type of mounts.
- 36:09I think we need to always reason, not just throwing it in
- 36:12for for things. So a reason and maybe that it
- 36:16comes with another figure or like even I'd smile with the
- 36:21polar bear. That was cool as well that it's
- 36:23kind of related to the whole story there.
- 36:27And yeah, I think that works. Yeah, I mean, that's sort of,
- 36:32you know, you people have to realise that they do have to
- 36:35reuse sculpts to make it worthwhile financially.
- 36:38But you know, we've, we've had a few horses now, so it's time for
- 36:41a gryphon. Yeah, yeah, I think there's
- 36:43things like that. Yeah.
- 36:44Great. I'm with you.
- 36:45A Griff. Well, a mantico or a gryphon
- 36:48would be very cool. Very, very.
- 36:50But even the escape back in Cosmic the the this character in
- 36:54Ox, Yeah, they're smaller, but they're still.
- 36:57You know, yeah, yeah, decent size.
- 36:59Decent size, Umm, the character in the second wave Bungie Uh,
- 37:03the second ox crew wave ox but the.
- 37:07We love. Ox crew too, umm, they really
- 37:11changed it up with just a small bit of extra stuff, like a
- 37:14different head and whatever, and yeah, slightly different
- 37:17configuration of coffee, the way they put them together.
- 37:20Yeah. And, and they've changed the
- 37:22kind of very menacing character into this little cute, really
- 37:25cool character. Yeah.
- 37:27You know, so that's kind of really cool Reuse.
- 37:30I love that. I love that, the way they did
- 37:32that and. You can have small amounts, you
- 37:34know, you can have like large flightless birds or something.
- 37:37You know which are, you know, you go that much on a shelf to
- 37:41to that much and you've still got a cool mount for a character
- 37:44to ride. And to be honest, one of the
- 37:47coolest things we've got in mythic business is the Moose
- 37:50Adler. He's not on display for me even.
- 37:53I I sold mine, but I just couldn't figure out a way of
- 37:56using him properly. So yeah, you'll.
- 38:00Regret that you'll regret that I have to fail in full swipes of
- 38:0710 and Prospero is the most boring mythic legions figure
- 38:11made so far. To me it looks only half
- 38:14finished in terms of colour and design, but somehow a lot of
- 38:17people like it. You probably don't own Thailand
- 38:21then. I would say if you think I've
- 38:23finished because definitely. I'd love to own her.
- 38:26I'm hoping we get a version two of her.
- 38:29Yeah, they've clearly never seen Ravenna or that female dwarf
- 38:33either. We're talking about boring.
- 38:37Yeah, back in the day when she was in fairly big in stock sale
- 38:44was her and Gwendolyn and Fustia were the only ones left and
- 38:50there was loads of them. And I remember at some stage I
- 38:53had some extra cash and I just ordered 5 of each and I sold
- 38:59them like over the next year easily, you know, not for a huge
- 39:05amount more, but more than I paid for them.
- 39:09And I kind of knew I would because once they were gone,
- 39:13they were gone, you know, And people go back to those
- 39:15characters. So they're really cool.
- 39:20So rich you you would say Ravenna more than Taylor
- 39:24possible here. You know me, I really don't like
- 39:26Ravenna at all. But that feat that first female
- 39:29dwarf as well, whose name I can't remember.
- 39:31Ragna. Yeah, that's a boring one too.
- 39:35Oh, ironically, friends with. So I didn't realise that's who
- 39:38you were talking about. I disagree.
- 39:40I really like Ragnar. I'm one of the few seems to like
- 39:44Ragnar. Even Eric doesn't like Ragnar
- 39:46any. Design I know which.
- 39:49Jim likes her. Jim's right.
- 39:55Next one some older parts should be retired.
- 39:58The Arthur lower legs and feet are my favourite but we don't
- 40:01need them anymore. Disagree.
- 40:04Totally disagree. More parts the better.
- 40:07I think I don't use them all the time, but dropping them in every
- 40:10now and again, yeah. I don't think I don't to be
- 40:13meant to retire when you have like a big steel mould that you
- 40:16paid 30 grand for or whatever back in the day and it's been
- 40:21used a bunch of times. But yet like like with the Erzak
- 40:26version 2, we've got new evil armour now.
- 40:29So that's a cool development and you can this feels between them.
- 40:33This feels a bit like someone who wants their older figures to
- 40:36be more collectible and worth more.
- 40:39Oh, maybe this is you, Rich. But I don't agree, no.
- 40:46Even if we've got new evil armour, it's good to have
- 40:49different types of evil armour, you know.
- 40:54The chest slash salt shoulders aren't brought enough on the
- 40:58males. Yeah.
- 41:02So yeah, wow. Not pretty big, yeah.
- 41:07Yeah, you know, any bigger and you start looking ridiculous.
- 41:11I would say people are more on the other end of this take.
- 41:14Yeah. No, I think for like Barbarians
- 41:19and stuff, you know, the mostly ones, they're perfect.
- 41:23And I would say that for if it's in terms of variety, maybe
- 41:27smaller is is where they need to go sometimes.
- 41:31And yeah, but yeah, like I'm glad when they made the cloth
- 41:35arms that they didn't make them with, you know, assuming that it
- 41:38was a big muscle inside it and then put the cloth on there.
- 41:41Agreed. And so that was a good choice.
- 41:47So we're disagreeing with this. 100%.
- 41:50I think the port on the back of the figures breaks up and
- 41:53otherwise great sculpt. Its utility is too underutilised
- 41:58for it to be needed on every figure.
- 42:02Kind of get what they're saying. Yeah, presume they're talking
- 42:07about the rectangular 1. Yeah, they're took, yeah.
- 42:10Having said, I mean they're right, it's pointless for most
- 42:13figures. Having said that, unless your
- 42:16figure is displayed with his back facing the front, it
- 42:18doesn't matter. And also, if you took it off, if
- 42:25you only did it on figures that need it, you reduce that ability
- 42:29to customise, which is a big part of the line, isn't it?
- 42:33So I don't know I. Don't like the way they've done
- 42:37it on EH, On KOI where you have yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:44I wouldn't mind the plug for it be tricky to do unlike the bare
- 42:49torso because how do you get it in like beauty of the?
- 42:54Of the. Dragon or fish type body is that
- 42:58it has a little fin that you can pull it in and out with.
- 43:00Yeah, yeah. Whereas this if it was just to
- 43:02make a flat smooth piece of armour or body trickier, the
- 43:12line could do with less humans. Rich, sorry.
- 43:15Yeah, sorry. It's difficult, isn't it?
- 43:21Because I mean, I, I, I, I like the creatures as much as the
- 43:26next person, but I also really like, I like the variety.
- 43:30Variety, that's what that as long as they have variety, I'm
- 43:33good. More different types of humans,
- 43:36I think would be a good thing to say.
- 43:38And, you know, so rather than all being Knights, yeah, yeah,
- 43:41you could have soldiers with leather tunics and that sort of
- 43:44thing just to break it up a little bit.
- 43:47I agree. With that, yeah.
- 43:50Yeah, I I tend to agree with you, Mel, 100% on this.
- 43:54That's a variety is the spice of life.
- 43:58I could do it more anthropomorphic characters for
- 44:01sure. Yes, yes, yeah.
- 44:02Or even, you know, I could like Kai Pascher or or Balam more
- 44:07where, you know, it is a basically human body with a cat
- 44:12head, with a dog head, whatever, you know, like our sculpts from
- 44:15last. Yeah.
- 44:16I mean, they could literally make every character in the line
- 44:19anthropomorphic and I'd be happy.
- 44:21So yeah, that's definitely a way to go.
- 44:26Right, next one. No female goblins.
- 44:30That is all. Is that that's what they want,
- 44:33or they're complaining there isn't?
- 44:36That's unclear. I would say yeah.
- 44:39I mean, there are no female goblins, so they get in the way.
- 44:42That's I would quite like. I don't know.
- 44:45Yeah, we don't quite like female goblin.
- 44:48Yeah, I think it'd be good, although they'll never talk what
- 44:50Wolf King did with that. That older female goblin and the
- 44:53saggy boobs. Whatever they do, they're never
- 44:55going to beat. That's gold.
- 44:57I mean, yeah, you're kind of right with that one, but and we
- 45:01need. Yeah, you know, they want female
- 45:03goblins. I've looked at the original
- 45:05message. Yeah, this is this is this is
- 45:08from a very big Goblin fan, so. Yeah, I know.
- 45:11I'd say Britain. The female goblins, definitely.
- 45:13Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why not?
- 45:15Again, Variety, and it'd be fun to see what they did with their
- 45:20faces, because to be fair, it normally posts quite attractive
- 45:25human female faces, so it'd be interesting to see what he did
- 45:28with goblins. Goblin fantasists that they're
- 45:32going to be like. Hard to get in Scandinavia.
- 45:42That's one or two people that could have posted this.
- 45:45Well, I, I mean, our two colleagues that go to, uh,
- 45:49legions con with us. Yeah, I think they're finally.
- 45:52They, they don't seem to have from I don't think it's hard to
- 45:55get in Scandinavia at all. Maybe expensive to get.
- 45:59Then it's, you know, you could be living in New Jersey and if
- 46:02you can't afford them, they're hard to get.
- 46:06If you can't afford to pay maybe import taxes or you don't want
- 46:10to deal with the admin around importing stuff from America, I
- 46:14get it. But it's you know, and if you
- 46:17live in Norway, yeah it's outside the EU.
- 46:19So there is a extra papers, but that is one of the richest
- 46:23countries in the world. So you know the.
- 46:25Last thing is that Scandinavians, you know,
- 46:27renowned for wealthy lifestyles, so probably.
- 46:30Because they don't buy make your responsible purchases like
- 46:34these. I don't really agree with this.
- 46:39I mean, the German retailers I checked, they shipped to
- 46:42Scandinavia. So again, that's just a process.
- 46:46So if you're in the EU, scan part of Scandinavia, then you
- 46:51just have to pay the shipping cost plus retail, which is not
- 46:54that difficult, let's be honest. Maybe this is someone new who's
- 46:57not aware of some of those. Maybe we should.
- 46:59Do an episode. About the different No, no, it's
- 47:01not all right to. Someone that just complaints
- 47:04about this problem all the time? I think I.
- 47:07Know I think it's their problem. No real complaints within 4
- 47:13horsemen. OK, this must be someone with it
- 47:15within the company apart from a certain amount of back slapping
- 47:19and favouritism. I don't know where to begin with
- 47:28comments like this. It's like some I don't know.
- 47:32So without without going on around, I don't know.
- 47:34I think the nicest, easiest, simple thing to say about this
- 47:38is people have to remember someone.
- 47:42I don't think there is favouritism.
- 47:43I think some of that favouritism is, is is misinterpreted.
- 47:47But two, some of the people in the cabal have been there for
- 47:52many, many years from day one of this line.
- 47:57Yeah. And some of those people are
- 48:01genuinely well, go out of their way to help everyone to, to be
- 48:07at any events they can be at, to support and help the horsemen,
- 48:11if that's part of what they're thinking of, that there's a lot
- 48:14of friendships in the cabal and people who know each other in
- 48:19person. So of course they're going to
- 48:20support that person. Those of us who are perhaps a
- 48:23bit further away, we don't, it's not as easy to, to do that.
- 48:28So maybe some of the people outside of the states or some of
- 48:33the newer people into the line even don't feel they, they get
- 48:37that. Well, just keep being part of
- 48:40the community. Keep going along, keep just and
- 48:44you will people take you on, people take you in you.
- 48:47You'll you'll find yourself involved if that's what it's all
- 48:52about to you, you know. I mean, what I'd say about this
- 48:56is, you know, there's two approaches to take.
- 48:58If you get in a boat, you can either roll with everyone else
- 49:01and and, you know, kind of find your place and kind of get in
- 49:05there and get stuck in and, you know, things will work out for
- 49:09you. Or you can go and say, right,
- 49:11I'm going to do this differently because I know better.
- 49:13I know different or, you know, I want to stand out.
- 49:15And that probably takes a longer time to get acceptance.
- 49:21You know, you have to be either exceptionally talented, but, you
- 49:24know, art or something like this, umm, to maybe jump the
- 49:29queue. But then we go.
- 49:30To favourite, isn't it? That's a lot of people.
- 49:33Recognise how community works, you know, yeah, someone's
- 49:36wrestling. Someone came into your local
- 49:38community and just said no, that's I know how to do
- 49:40everything better on the street, you know, or right, or, you
- 49:43know, have a look at all my stuff over here.
- 49:46You'd be like, well, you know, let's get to know you first.
- 49:49Let's get let's start with a cup of tea and see where we go
- 49:53first. And also back slapping what
- 49:57what, what they want. I I don't see back slapping.
- 50:01I see praise and, you know, giving.
- 50:05But it is the official group for the line.
- 50:07It should, it's not a complaints form, you know, even though
- 50:09people do complain in it and and you know, there was this,
- 50:13there's obviously this is where we took this post from, but I
- 50:15think, you know, this was all in, it was labelled unpopular
- 50:20opinions. It's it's kind of what you don't
- 50:23really want to say to, you know, in the kind of a single post.
- 50:27So you can just throw in this post and you can do what it
- 50:30wants in there. And, and actually it was a
- 50:32really, I forget who posted it originally, I'm sorry, but it
- 50:35was actually a fun thing to do. You know, the way it was done
- 50:39was in fun, wasn't it? And in in which whereas, you
- 50:42know, then the people go on and just bitch and moan, don't they?
- 50:45And we don't want that. Hank Miller was the Prince
- 50:48Miller. It was.
- 50:49It was really. Cool post when he did it.
- 50:51It was a fun post, well done Hank.
- 50:54But yeah, so I don't know. I don't have any more to say in
- 50:59this. I mean, no, no, it's supposed to
- 51:01be much positive. So yeah, yeah, I didn't like.
- 51:06Rain the beast. I mean this in the nicest bottle
- 51:13way, but this person's a moral. Say what you.
- 51:16Oh my God, Yeah, total totally agree.
- 51:22Yeah. It's just a ridiculously good
- 51:24wave of figures. Yeah, every figure in it is is
- 51:27brilliant. It's just like, yeah.
- 51:29Yeah, you can say oh, I didn't like 2 of the set men or ever so
- 51:32then, but to say I didn't like Rain and the beast is it's quite
- 51:35frankly ridiculous that. Yeah, I mean, then you really
- 51:38have a specific thing that you like, and if it's not it, then
- 51:43you know, OK, maybe Raina, the beasts could could step outside
- 51:46that. Or some easy in here and going.
- 51:48I really hate rising Suns. Well, I don't Barbarians are my
- 51:52favourite, but there's some good cat, you know, good looking
- 51:54figures in there and the other half of the Suns ones I
- 51:57absolutely love so. Yeah, exactly.
- 52:03Knee and elbow double joints should be pretty doable
- 52:06nowadays. Question mark.
- 52:08I mean, of course they're doable.
- 52:09It's an artistic choice more so than anything else.
- 52:13It's it's a balance of how it looks versus how it functions.
- 52:19And there's a line there, especially for a line like this
- 52:22with Knights and stuff. And now we get the 3.0 body with
- 52:26the, you know, werewolf type characters and Romans and stuff.
- 52:31So. What comments like this always,
- 52:34always made me think this is somebody that just doesn't pay
- 52:36attention to the group or what the horsemen do because it's
- 52:41been said count literally countless times.
- 52:45We could do double joints, but we're not going to generally
- 52:48because we don't like the way it breaks the aesthetic and that
- 52:50sort of stuff. So this is somebody just, you
- 52:52know, it's like, what is the point of this unpopular?
- 52:55You know, it's not an unpopular opinion.
- 52:57You're basically saying it's like saying, well, mythic lesion
- 53:00should include machine guns and aeroplanes.
- 53:03Yeah. It's just, it's that sort of
- 53:04statement. It's like that, no?
- 53:07You wonder what initially attracted that person to this
- 53:11line, don't you? Because I look at a line and if
- 53:14I don't like the way it. Well, as I've said many times
- 53:18in, I was a bit slow on the well, other than having to
- 53:21import everything from the States.
- 53:22At the time I was a bit slow on the pickup for Mythic Legions
- 53:26because I didn't like the hip joints.
- 53:29And then I got a couple actually, I think they're really
- 53:31cool. I think there's other lines that
- 53:33would look better with similar kind of hip joints.
- 53:37So yeah, you wonder what, mate? I wouldn't buy it if I didn't
- 53:40like the joints in it in the first place.
- 53:44So why are you buying them if you don't like the what them
- 53:47what what they give you, you know?
- 53:51It's like trying to change a line.
- 53:52It's like, you know, going inside Marvel Legends and that
- 53:55does have lots of double jointed and going well, you should go
- 53:57back to all single joints. It's ridiculous.
- 53:59You know, why would you go onto a forum and say.
- 54:01That but stage. There you go.
- 54:04Even even there are Marvel legends that have single joints.
- 54:08It depends on the character and the size and then you know, and
- 54:11all that, isn't it? No.
- 54:13Yeah, yeah, yeah. I hate these arguments about
- 54:17joints. There you go, I don't need. 0.
- 54:22Bodies as the next card. You're going to hate Arc and the
- 54:27Cruel then. I sort of agree with this.
- 54:31I'm not going to throw my rattle out the pram over it but I, you
- 54:35know, we're doing fine with never.
- 54:36Guessing of them. However, sorry about how you
- 54:39carry on did. No, no, you, you carry on
- 54:42because I think I was. Going to say however, it's you
- 54:44know, it's fine humans, but you know with Windaji for instance,
- 54:49they look the sculpt, they blend in really well and look really
- 54:53good. So as long as they hold up fine
- 54:55and the movement then I'm fine with them.
- 54:57That, yeah, it's what I was going to say is I wouldn't go in
- 55:04saying, oh, we need them. But then it does open up
- 55:08possibilities for the characters and designs of characters so
- 55:12that they move in a way and that they might not otherwise do so.
- 55:17Such as the Mouse King, those arms.
- 55:24I couldn't imagine them not having those arms now, you know,
- 55:28And it worked really well there. And there's no way, the next
- 55:34one, there's no way that the humans won the Great War.
- 55:38Well, I mean, the guys that wrote the story said they did.
- 55:42And it wasn't just humans, it was humans, Elves.
- 55:45Exactly. You know, all sorts of
- 55:47anthropomorphic creatures. Users, yeah.
- 55:49It's, you know. Maybe Celine swooped in there as
- 55:52well. This was written by a real nerd.
- 55:58We'll. We'll find out who it is and
- 56:00bats and go, OK, if you can show us the Army compliments, then
- 56:03down to the down to the individual soldier, then we can
- 56:06have a proper discussion about it.
- 56:07But until that point, it's up to Eric who won.
- 56:10Yeah, true. And So what, Jeremy?
- 56:13I'm not Jeremy. Yes.
- 56:16Enough nights already. There are more characters that I
- 56:19would rather have. Sure, kind of agree with this
- 56:22one. Yeah, I don't disagree with this
- 56:23one, I have to admit. Love nights what got me into it
- 56:28a bit start for sure because there wasn't lines with Knights
- 56:32figures really especially that looked that good.
- 56:35So I think they should always sprinkle them in every now and
- 56:39then. But there may be when does like
- 56:42an ethron or a leisure focused wave that can get quite nighty I
- 56:50I. You know, I'm not the biggest
- 56:52night fan. I think the way the nights look
- 56:55now are exceptional and actually I prefer what they're doing now.
- 56:59Umm, But yeah, you know, I've, I think I've said I'm a bit tired
- 57:03of nights and ready for something else this year.
- 57:06But I mean, the last couple of big waves don't have that many
- 57:11nights in them. I mean, I know we have the night
- 57:14builder in the ashes about Bender, which is cool.
- 57:18And we also have the the Angel guy, Yosef.
- 57:22He's a kind of a knight as well. But yeah, right, next one.
- 57:28I prefer the plastic tunics tablets instead of the soft
- 57:31goods. No, I think so.
- 57:36I don't mind. I think it's the nice for
- 57:38painting. The painting option on them is
- 57:40is what I don't mind. Sorry, Ma, no.
- 57:44No, no, it's cool. It's cool.
- 57:46I would say I don't mind the meat.
- 57:47I don't mind some having plastic, some knotty, depending
- 57:50on what they're trying to, yeah. That's fine.
- 57:52Yeah, yeah. But yeah, I think soft goods are
- 57:55beautiful. So yeah, beautiful is a bit
- 57:59strong, but you know what I mean?
- 58:00Very, very nice. You the camera pans around the
- 58:04miles just got like a wall display of all the soft goods.
- 58:08Just just the tunics. It's so beautiful.
- 58:12Yeah, I mean, I suppose the main problem I see is if you using
- 58:16the figure for a custom or you know, making custom out of it
- 58:21and then you don't want to use the soft goods or you you need a
- 58:25different colour and then you have no part to cover the piece
- 58:29the holders left by taking away the soft goods.
- 58:33And then you kind of have to get another figure.
- 58:36And that can get, you know, if if you're deep in the hole with
- 58:39it is this isn't a problem. But if you're fairly new to it
- 58:42and you have bought a bunch of nights and you want to make
- 58:45different types of nights, the soft goods can restrict what you
- 58:49can do. You can paint the soft goods.
- 58:52Your mileage may vary though, or dye them.
- 58:59And I love the new scaphoid, but why does he have 4 linecloths?
- 59:05He's a skeleton. Not with Chamberlain.
- 59:07So what's he hiding? It's got a massive.
- 59:09Chamberlain. I guess Wilt Chamberlain is
- 59:12maybe somebody famous for having a packing.
- 59:16Oh, isn't we? Wasn't Will Chamberlain the umm,
- 59:19the basketball player? OK it.
- 59:22Was in Conan. What's not about Chamberlain?
- 59:24It's like 7 foot six or something.
- 59:26Like that, OK, Malcolm can look at that up.
- 59:29Uh, but who's got .2 is awesome. This does not bother me at all.
- 59:33Maybe he's hiding? This was a joke comment for
- 59:36sure. Maybe he's hiding his demon wank
- 59:39Jeremy. Maybe is, Yeah.
- 59:40Yeah. Sorry, Jeremy, you have to
- 59:41listen further to do your count this week.
- 59:45And right here's a long one. We should have had waves and
- 59:51figures dedicated to fully fleshing out the First Great War
- 59:54before we moved on. I'm going to get the book, but
- 1:00:02I'd rather have the figures associated with the stories and
- 1:00:04the battles than just the story you're telling me.
- 1:00:08Gonks and gracious stories don't have new races or characters.
- 1:00:13We also didn't get that many Templars this past year,
- 1:00:17especially with how diverse their.
- 1:00:19Looks should be oh God. I was very numb for the
- 1:00:24information in the last bit, but it it sounds like it.
- 1:00:29I, I I. Love the Templars, but we've had
- 1:00:31a lot of templars recently. And that have diverse that white
- 1:00:35tunic and a Red Cross can be come on get real.
- 1:00:41But I don't necessarily disagree the sentiment over and, but I
- 1:00:46haven't. Really got like 250 figures of
- 1:00:49before the 1st Great War. What I act, but what I actually
- 1:00:54think they're asking for recent what they saying we need either
- 1:00:58because what they want is more it reads like what they actually
- 1:01:03want is I want to know more about Gonks.
- 1:01:06I want to know more about Grisha and their part in it all.
- 1:01:10They don't want the overall story, which is what that first
- 1:01:13bit says. So which actually themed waves
- 1:01:19around a particular story of someone would be cool, and I
- 1:01:22think we're going to kind of get them anyway, so.
- 1:01:25Yeah, yeah, I mean, well written.
- 1:01:31This would be a good argument in court, uh, in regards to the
- 1:01:39cabal, we should be able to curse, uh, no kids are in this
- 1:01:43group. And if you're showing off posts,
- 1:01:45uh, to your own, to your own kids, you should be screening
- 1:01:50what's been commented. We're all a bunch of 30 plus
- 1:01:53year old dudes that can't curse really question mark.
- 1:01:57I mean, yeah, I think just some people don't like cursing.
- 1:02:00So you know. Quite frankly, and I'm going to
- 1:02:03sound like a snob here, it's a poor grasp in the English
- 1:02:06language if you can't come in on stuff without swearing.
- 1:02:09But that's that's the. Question I mean then I must have
- 1:02:12very bad English in in my. Just Irish, John, you're just
- 1:02:15Irish put. Me wrong, you guys you guys have
- 1:02:19been around me for quite some time.
- 1:02:20You know, I like to swear, but at the same time at no point in
- 1:02:23the felt, oh God, I can't be in the cabal because I can't be on
- 1:02:25left, right and centre. It's just like I just don't.
- 1:02:28Care I've got No, I don't need throat.
- 1:02:30This is fucking brilliant. Excuse my language.
- 1:02:34There's a beat for you, John. Yeah, I'm.
- 1:02:38Not going to do it. We.
- 1:02:42Don't get any money anyway. Yeah, except Patreon.
- 1:02:46Thank you. Yeah, I mean, it's definitely a
- 1:02:52valid argument, but I think it's just we don't need to be able to
- 1:02:57curse. Like we don't curse on this show
- 1:02:59just so that it's everybody can listen to it.
- 1:03:02Just generally we don't generally.
- 1:03:04Yeah. Like if I spoke like normal
- 1:03:07day-to-day, like I'm in a pub in this, not normal day-to-day like
- 1:03:11I do at home, but you know, in a pub with a bunch of mates, then
- 1:03:16yeah, this wouldn't be very easy to listen to.
- 1:03:18No, I mean, we did that one show, didn't we, with the wives
- 1:03:20going to kill me boys and let ourselves off the leash there
- 1:03:23and I was dropping the F bomb here, there and everywhere.
- 1:03:25But that's because of who they are and like, you know, having a
- 1:03:29joke with them sort of thing. But there's no need for general.
- 1:03:31Yeah, I just didn't want to tell them.
- 1:03:33They couldn't curse. I wasn't brave enough, didn't
- 1:03:37know them well enough at that stage.
- 1:03:39I don't think they'd have been able to help it to be fair, no.
- 1:03:45Right, anyway, moving on, I hate skeletons with hair is the next
- 1:03:49one. Is there skeletons with hair
- 1:03:52Thoracis? Is he a hair under the helmet?
- 1:03:56If they mean beards, you've got a beard.
- 1:03:59He's got a beard, yeah. I see.
- 1:04:02It's just a bit of fun, isn't it?
- 1:04:04I don't mind at all. Get a life, but I want it.
- 1:04:06To be, I don't want it to be like a full Afro or you know,
- 1:04:10like. Oh God, that was going to come
- 1:04:12after, you know you. Said that he's going to be like
- 1:04:14straight. On you again, I want an Afro.
- 1:04:16Yeah, I might be down for that. I, I wanted to be, you know,
- 1:04:20this really decomposed like hair is just strands, maybe not not
- 1:04:27really a full head affair like a knight, handsome knight might
- 1:04:30have. I don't know.
- 1:04:33I don't really mind if the if the sculpt looks good, I'll take
- 1:04:37a skeleton with that. You wouldn't be jealous.
- 1:04:41I'm always jealous, but there, there we go.
- 1:04:44You were waiting for it. You were waiting for it.
- 1:04:46I know. I think.
- 1:04:47Didn't we accidentally skip a slide?
- 1:04:49I felt like I saw something about colours of armour.
- 1:04:52Or something. Oh, did I?
- 1:04:54Oh yeah right, I don't care about having the colours of
- 1:04:58parts be slightly different from each other.
- 1:05:01I'm not fussed by it, but I'd rather they keep the colour
- 1:05:04consistent across the board so we can have flawless prop and
- 1:05:07swaps like Lee J, Magnus and Valgar 2 should all have the
- 1:05:10same gold. I think I I understand the
- 1:05:14point, but it would be pretty boring.
- 1:05:17The extremely problem, isn't it? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:21Yeah, we know pop and swap, but you don't leave an army,
- 1:05:24everyone will say. I think maybe a few more having
- 1:05:28similar gold wouldn't be like they are all different gold
- 1:05:32which is. Annoying.
- 1:05:34Because as I was shown you during the week, I have a bunch
- 1:05:36of gold paints and have them all kind of put on a piece of card,
- 1:05:41you know, over black primer, and none of them directly match the
- 1:05:46gold. There's the Citadel Gold
- 1:05:48Retributor armour, which kind of matches a lot of the goals if
- 1:05:52you play with washes over it, but you know, even the Gideon
- 1:05:56Gold, that's different again. You know, it's yeah, it's
- 1:06:00difficult, isn't it? It's first and foremost meant to
- 1:06:02be a cool looking toy action figure line.
- 1:06:05Yeah, the part, that's what's. The thing, yeah, it's nice to
- 1:06:09have thing, isn't it really? So yeah, even it's even like the
- 1:06:16Silvers and the Templars, they're different, but I think
- 1:06:19that does make sense. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:06:23And you can also mix a match a bit anyway and just, you know,
- 1:06:25if someone's on the battlefield and maybe they're, you know,
- 1:06:29their arm armour gets badly damaged, they might need to swap
- 1:06:32it out and they can't get a new bit to match it.
- 1:06:34So they just pick up something else that doesn't quite match,
- 1:06:37you know, that's. It's one of the things I don't.
- 1:06:39I don't completely disagree, but I'd rather have a cool figure
- 1:06:43than whether I can pop and swap it.
- 1:06:45Yeah, play. If you're doing Toy for Dover,
- 1:06:47you just play with the lighting and you'll get something close.
- 1:06:51That's what a lot of the good customizers do, and they're
- 1:06:54taking those beautiful pictures of the paint matches they've
- 1:06:56done. But when you see them in person,
- 1:06:58they might be as matched as it looked in the really beautiful
- 1:07:02photo. And so we've done here.
- 1:07:07The paint and sculpt are not a substitute for good articulation
- 1:07:11in an action figure. Don't buy them then.
- 1:07:14Yeah, I would say, let's say it depends what you like.
- 1:07:18And so if you're really into well painted figures, like my
- 1:07:24point about the Masters movie figures that they've teased,
- 1:07:28like the paint is just so bad that I don't care how much
- 1:07:31articulation is on. A lot of.
- 1:07:33Well, they for my taste, yeah. No, in a similar vein, I think
- 1:07:39until recently a lot of black series with paint on them as
- 1:07:44garbage. Umm, really bad.
- 1:07:48So I've never gone anywhere near them.
- 1:07:49I've started to pick up the odd one now because they paint and
- 1:07:53the scope to get well. The scope to be fair has always
- 1:07:55been well and that's been up and down as well on the but so you
- 1:08:00know. It's a line like that relies on
- 1:08:03a lot of likenesses and similarities to to whatever is
- 1:08:07in a movie. So that's how the scope needs to
- 1:08:09be. On point.
- 1:08:10Yeah, here. The sculpt needs to be cool, you
- 1:08:14know? Yeah.
- 1:08:14Yeah. Otherwise you may just get a
- 1:08:16bendy plastic rod and just play with that.
- 1:08:19Look at articulates really well, doesn't matter what it looks
- 1:08:21like. Or those rubber and, you know,
- 1:08:24those Stretch Armstrong. Yeah.
- 1:08:28Look, I've tied his arms together.
- 1:08:30It doesn't matter what the sculpts.
- 1:08:31Like, yeah, my kids used to have the those really stretchy ones
- 1:08:35that they're, they're out these days.
- 1:08:37They called again something goo or something or.
- 1:08:41I know which ones you mean, Yeah.
- 1:08:42Umm. Yeah, they have the little, uh,
- 1:08:46like balls inside them to kind of, yeah, you know, different
- 1:08:49textures stuff and they're kind of cool as well, but they're
- 1:08:53completely rubber, you know? I must have it so.
- 1:08:55I've I've I've always picked one up when I've had the one around.
- 1:08:59They're bad toys. Really.
- 1:09:00You know, I know need need beefy ladies and more soft goods.
- 1:09:06I mean real life or. Yes, yes.
- 1:09:14Yes, yes, yes. I mean, yeah, we could, we could
- 1:09:18definitely get the the 1.0 more 1.0 scale ladies now.
- 1:09:24Yeah, as as we go along. I'll be done with that.
- 1:09:28Yeah, no problem with. That yeah, the variety in the
- 1:09:33female faces is abysmally lacking.
- 1:09:36Wow. I do like Trace Bluett and the
- 1:09:40Ghost of Christmas Past, but not every female figure needs to
- 1:09:44look like them. I think we've, we've poked at
- 1:09:47this over the time on the podcast and it's a question of
- 1:09:52reuse versus how popular the cell and stuff like that.
- 1:09:56I'm sure they'd love to do all sorts of different female faces.
- 1:10:00And we have Gadriel that's a very different looking female.
- 1:10:06And do we have any new ones now that are using I mean the
- 1:10:12mermaid? Lady Yeah, is is the one from
- 1:10:16Horror Vine. Somal's very diff I mean.
- 1:10:18It grains an. Attractive.
- 1:10:20It won't be great. I mean, people going on about
- 1:10:22how it looked almost anime, weren't they?
- 1:10:24So yeah, including us. So, so I think we're getting
- 1:10:27there. I think it's just a question of
- 1:10:28reuse. We don't have a super amount of
- 1:10:31male faces either. You know that really This is why
- 1:10:34the face inserts the face plates on the cosmic heads back are
- 1:10:40proving, you know, we're proved very popular because you can
- 1:10:44know have more variety in the you know, the Knights faces and
- 1:10:49stuff like that. There you go.
- 1:10:51Are we perhaps missing feminine? I'm not sure this is what this
- 1:10:56person means, but are we perhaps missing feminine?
- 1:10:59Feline faces, for example, and feminine.
- 1:11:04We've got one demon, female demon, but there aren't a lot
- 1:11:07of. We've got one female or or two
- 1:11:11because we've got the pack, didn't we?
- 1:11:12But so maybe, yeah, another fit, so maybe that's where we're
- 1:11:15lacking is a bit of females that aren't human.
- 1:11:19Yeah, and we have some helmeted ones, or half helmeted ones
- 1:11:23even. Yeah, like Cassie has half
- 1:11:26helmeted, isn't she? Yeah.
- 1:11:27Yeah and yeah. John, can I take us back to a
- 1:11:32previous question just for a moment?
- 1:11:33So your name Wilt, Wilt Chamberlain came up.
- 1:11:35Oh yeah, quick bit of Googling while you guys are talking about
- 1:11:39ladies faces and apparently he was nicknamed Wilt the Stilt
- 1:11:45which should should give you a clue as as to his thing was.
- 1:11:48That a middle leg stilt. I think it was and slept with
- 1:11:51the reported 20,000. Ladies, right, OK.
- 1:11:56So there you go. Well, I don't know how he
- 1:11:59managed that. I don't know whether to say well
- 1:12:02done or sorry. And he was also interning the
- 1:12:04barbarian, so yeah. OK, You were you were in the
- 1:12:08ballpark there then. Yeah.
- 1:12:10I wonder where they hide. It is still under the under the
- 1:12:13loincloth. I've also now got on my search
- 1:12:16history a an article talking about famous sporting penises,
- 1:12:20so that that could throw the algorithm out slightly.
- 1:12:24That's your personal phone. So I think that's that's.
- 1:12:30Our new Patreon show Dick on Dicks.
- 1:12:35Wang on Wang. Chinese, though, is.
- 1:12:40It well, we might expand into the Chinese market or they'll
- 1:12:45think we're incredibly, uh, London.
- 1:12:47Malcolm Bisciotti. So the first, the first sentence
- 1:12:52of this or half sentence of this really, it doesn't sound good
- 1:12:58taking take an idea from wrestling figures.
- 1:13:02Don't know when that was ever a good idea.
- 1:13:04The hands are softer, plastic OK and easier to use with weapons.
- 1:13:09If you remember GI Joes with Kung Fu grip.
- 1:13:12Some of the wrestling figures have hands like that.
- 1:13:16Kung Fu grip anyone? Oh no, I think it was like that,
- 1:13:21wasn't it? Really is one of those shows.
- 1:13:26I do remember talking about Kung Fu grip with GI Joes but.
- 1:13:32Yeah, I think it makes sense. I mean, plastic for the hands,
- 1:13:35definitely. Works and the ogre hands,
- 1:13:36definitely. They're a son of a gun that's
- 1:13:38trying to get a weapon in the. That's that's what I'd say,
- 1:13:41yeah. The bigger they get, the softer
- 1:13:43they could do with. But I wonder if there's a
- 1:13:45technical production reason for that, you know?
- 1:13:51I'm sure there is. Chris seems to know his
- 1:13:52plastics, doesn't that? Yeah.
- 1:13:55It's a difficult 1, isn't it? Because I'd rather it held the.
- 1:13:59Sword. And constantly held the sword.
- 1:14:02Then eventually the sword started to droop as the plastic
- 1:14:06in the hand got softer and all warmed up or.
- 1:14:10Yeah, I next one. I do not like soft goods on
- 1:14:17action figures, especially at this smaller scale.
- 1:14:20Wow. Was just Curtis.
- 1:14:26He's well known. Hatred like that anymore.
- 1:14:29His wife sold two. His wife sold 200 and something
- 1:14:32cakes. He's changed now.
- 1:14:34Him saying a long time back that he didn't like he.
- 1:14:37I think at some point, though, he did say changed his mind.
- 1:14:39Yeah. There too.
- 1:14:43All right. Oh, yeah.
- 1:14:45Yeah, I know. There were, Yeah.
- 1:14:48What I would say is I think cloaks sometimes are a waste
- 1:14:54because they're so big. Again, unless you're posing them
- 1:14:56in a really dynamic pose on your shelf with a cloak flowing in
- 1:15:00all directions, however, then it's a bit pointless.
- 1:15:05But you know, I'm never going to complain about soft goods.
- 1:15:08It's just like, yeah, it's using those.
- 1:15:11I mean like Nesco has done at an even smaller scale than this,
- 1:15:15and I'd say scale is not the problem here.
- 1:15:18I mean, it's not even the best. I mean, although I love him,
- 1:15:22he's not even the best figure. But you know, this guy's all
- 1:15:26soft goods and he's got weirdly proportioned legs, but I and
- 1:15:31they're not the best soft goods. But I think he looks really good
- 1:15:34anyway, so well does it for me. There are faults with him for
- 1:15:39sure, but. Yeah.
- 1:15:44OK, this is a horrible view by the way.
- 1:15:50Back to the questions umm, next one being 3G con waves just get
- 1:16:003 orders is absurd OK, I'll go back to that one being 3G con
- 1:16:05waves deep in pre-orders is absurd yeah it's I mean we've
- 1:16:11kind of touched on this in the last time we.
- 1:16:13Have recently, haven't we? Yeah.
- 1:16:15So we're getting we're getting a lot of stuff landing now.
- 1:16:18So I think hopefully if we if we are maybe a year down the road
- 1:16:23and it's the same again, then that'd be a pity.
- 1:16:27But things seem to be arriving now and you know, hopefully we
- 1:16:31catch up and see they might, they might think we're getting
- 1:16:38less tooling on the next G con waves to.
- 1:16:42But then people complain about yeah, yeah, new parts.
- 1:16:49Yeah, as you said, John, sorry. I apologise for interrupting.
- 1:16:51They are, you know, they're catching up.
- 1:16:53Once you've caught up a bit, it's fine.
- 1:16:55Three waves is a bit ridiculous, but as long as you keep away
- 1:16:58from that going forward it be fine.
- 1:17:01I don't really care about character slash faction slash
- 1:17:03door because I make up my own anyway.
- 1:17:05You. Can't do any half.
- 1:17:06A way. Yeah, Fair enough.
- 1:17:08Yeah, fair. Enough the gladiators with one
- 1:17:10arm in armour have such a skinny arm compared to the huge flecks
- 1:17:14on the bare arm. I mean we kind of touched on
- 1:17:18this. Yeah, if you have the big mostly
- 1:17:24bare arm then the Knights arm does look a bit too thin maybe.
- 1:17:29Yeah, it does a little bit, but I never thought about.
- 1:17:32I mean, you're talking one of my favourite characters, if not my
- 1:17:37favourite character is like that and I don't mind it.
- 1:17:40So yeah. Yeah.
- 1:17:42But maybe if we ever get a brood scale night, then we can do a
- 1:17:48bit of that. Yeah, mix and imagine.
- 1:17:51And you know, the arm that's not armour is going to do more
- 1:17:53moving around and fighting. So you know you're going to
- 1:17:56build that up. You're going to have a bigger.
- 1:17:58Yeah, exactly right. I can't.
- 1:18:04Believe they. Can't believe they're releasing
- 1:18:08new figures with weapons from the first Kickstarter.
- 1:18:12This is again on the weapons. Yeah, we could always do more
- 1:18:17weapons, but at the same time most of the weapons they have
- 1:18:21are great and they have dropped some of the weapons like the big
- 1:18:26axe, the new yeah, all the new axes are better yet, so.
- 1:18:33And we're getting a steady stream of new swords and stuff
- 1:18:37like that, Daggers, so. I kind of hope we get that
- 1:18:42Mallius version two this year because he is currently on my
- 1:18:45shelf in this position because he can't hold the axes his lean.
- 1:18:50Axes are propping him up, but yeah, they're open him up.
- 1:18:52Exactly they are. Yeah, yeah, old man Mallius.
- 1:18:55Yeah. That very few people truly care
- 1:19:00to see what the new figures you got in the mail are bought at
- 1:19:04Legions Con. OK, so people are posting their
- 1:19:07latest scores. I think that's probably true.
- 1:19:13But you know, you're excited about it.
- 1:19:15And if you're like a lot of us, you live somewhere that is not
- 1:19:20near any other people that are into the hobby.
- 1:19:23So yes. You want to post one of the one
- 1:19:27thing I think probably I'm probably going to make myself
- 1:19:30really unpopular or have somebody say something about.
- 1:19:33One of the ones that always kills me is when someone shows
- 1:19:37off a figure they've bought and received and go, oh, I'm so
- 1:19:42thankful to such and such for me.
- 1:19:44And you're like, you paid for it.
- 1:19:45Why are you thankful? Yeah, that was annoying.
- 1:19:48Yeah. Also, I'm wondering if this
- 1:19:50person doesn't go to legions con ands little legions con dig at
- 1:19:54the end there. Yeah.
- 1:19:56What? You bought Allegiance con?
- 1:19:58It's just like, all right, yeah, calm down.
- 1:20:00I as I say, I kind of get this one because as much as I like
- 1:20:03some of the people and I'm pleased for them, I don't, I
- 1:20:06don't need to see, you know, I get mates or send.
- 1:20:09Them in your private. Look what I got.
- 1:20:11And I'm like, yeah, right, my. Advice would be posting your
- 1:20:13private chat threads. If you're new, sure, go away or
- 1:20:17go ahead. And of course, I'm in the in the
- 1:20:19groups, yeah. Everyone on our discord who
- 1:20:21likes to post their new halls you carry straight on.
- 1:20:24I'm not referring to you. Yeah.
- 1:20:26Yeah, that's different. This 10.
- 1:20:30This is controversial with the damned promo shots make the
- 1:20:32upcoming figures looks way better than what I put on my
- 1:20:35shelf. There's still awesome toys that
- 1:20:38I can't stop buying, but it's like expecting to put out a
- 1:20:40sideshow error there on your chef when you're then putting up
- 1:20:44a poorly pose. Poorly.
- 1:20:46That figure in five POA stance. They just can't live up to the
- 1:20:49expectation that Trevor sets. This is a compliment Trevor lol.
- 1:20:54I mean, I think the figures are as good looking as in the promo
- 1:20:58shots. Yeah, this may be the poses and
- 1:21:01the scenes. Better with the up most
- 1:21:03respected Trevor. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:21:08You might have a really poorly lit display room, you know?
- 1:21:12Maybe invest in more lighting and a few more backgrounds by a
- 1:21:16die or two and you this. Is how most of my figures
- 1:21:19opposed exactly like this? Yeah, that's me too.
- 1:21:23There's a lot of that pose going on and I think he looks great.
- 1:21:26Still. So you know.
- 1:21:31Amazing. Yeah, I think this is a is a
- 1:21:36very it's a nice it's a good point, but it's I think yeah,
- 1:21:40maybe it's your you need to up your display and well, the
- 1:21:45figures with tails drive me crazy because of how the tail
- 1:21:48joint is designed hard as hell to install and then somehow
- 1:21:50easily comes out with minimal posing.
- 1:21:54Yeah, it I mean, the tails do frustrate me when they come out
- 1:21:59in the mean is not too bad, but they can be annoying with my
- 1:22:04mouse king tail. Now it's just I just took it out
- 1:22:07because it's always coming out. No, really.
- 1:22:10No, I think if I put him in his pose on the shelf and just left
- 1:22:13him, he'd be fine. But if I.
- 1:22:16Touch him at all. It's coming out.
- 1:22:18When I've had most difficulty with his Monkey King just
- 1:22:21because it's so long. Yeah, but even that's not been
- 1:22:25too bad. It's more how to pose it so it's
- 1:22:27not covering so much of the shelf.
- 1:22:31But yeah, you. Haven't noticed this with the
- 1:22:34figures line in the attic original.
- 1:22:39No, the the I think probably 2 figures with tails.
- 1:22:42I've actually got us standing up on display at the moment.
- 1:22:44They seem fine. Too fair, I've got to say.
- 1:22:46You're you're Ben gave us the best way of posing some of the
- 1:22:49tails and, yeah, curling it round.
- 1:22:51Yeah, it was. That was true stroke.
- 1:22:53A genius, yeah, and Ninion tails have never had a problem with.
- 1:22:56Funny one that I like the regular neck better than the
- 1:23:00hinged 1. I mean, there is one thing with
- 1:23:05the hinged 1 is that sometimes if you're trying to just put the
- 1:23:07head on, it can slide forward and then oh.
- 1:23:10That's a pain in the ass. Yeah.
- 1:23:12And then once the heads on, it's really hard to get it back into
- 1:23:15the right position again. Yeah, I kind of it.
- 1:23:20Depends on the 1st. World problem, but it can be
- 1:23:22extremely frustrating when you can't get the head on and.
- 1:23:25Sleeves. I can't swap parts with Goliath.
- 1:23:30Oh dear. Poor Mark 4 horsemen could stand
- 1:23:40to have their joints just a touch tiger.
- 1:23:43Domestic figures have ratcheted joints to prevent shelf diving,
- 1:23:47so why not 4 horsemen? Lord knows their big figures
- 1:23:51can't even support their own weight, so it baffles me that
- 1:23:53they haven't gone to this in this particular area.
- 1:23:58Gotten with the times. I would argue this is what I
- 1:24:04would say. There's a little bit of
- 1:24:05inconsistency in tightness across joints across the line.
- 1:24:10And it's not about the type of, it's not about the part.
- 1:24:13I don't know whether it's to do with tooling temperatures,
- 1:24:16something because some things with the same legs are looser on
- 1:24:22on one figure than on another. But I'd argue at points they're
- 1:24:29scarily tight. Yeah, I think on the ogre skin
- 1:24:35nights they should have been better.
- 1:24:37Yeah, I understand what people are saying about the ankle.
- 1:24:40Job and don't have a problem with the with the regular
- 1:24:44figures in 95% of the time and 2.0 can sometimes be a bit too
- 1:24:50tight. Also it's going to depend where
- 1:24:52you live isn't it realistically because in a hotter climate
- 1:24:56everything's going to be looser and move more easily because the
- 1:24:59plastics warmer. Nobody is making you buy them,
- 1:25:05but you still do. Yeah.
- 1:25:09This is kind of yet saying, do you really?
- 1:25:13Are you really allowed to complain?
- 1:25:15Yeah, Yeah. I mean.
- 1:25:23Right, I'm going on, eh, you, you've formed that thought, eh?
- 1:25:27The fact that you have to cook your figures in the water bath,
- 1:25:29they actually put these instructions.
- 1:25:31The baggage is weird. No other toy line does that.
- 1:25:34That's not true and I have multiple toys where it tells you
- 1:25:37to heat up. Also, these toys are unique.
- 1:25:41They're totally pop. Pop and swappable.
- 1:25:44Yeah. So there is a purpose.
- 1:25:47Yeah. Do you do that?
- 1:25:49It's not weird necessarily. Maybe at the toy line you should
- 1:25:51do that. Well, I can.
- 1:25:53Figure out and snap it the leg in half and you're like oh OK.
- 1:25:56And and a number of the Japanese import figures do say warm up be
- 1:26:01figures before you manipulate them so.
- 1:26:05Yeah. Not that I bought them, but I've
- 1:26:09seen. Yeah, I saw.
- 1:26:10Reviews Remember I sent you an Instagram Reel this week?
- 1:26:14Guy trying to take a gauntlet off a Captain America figure and
- 1:26:19it was like a wrestling match. Yeah, I was like.
- 1:26:23Screwdrivers. Yeah, this makes me appreciate
- 1:26:27it takes. Too much reuse of her parts.
- 1:26:31But it kills costs, so I guess they understand it.
- 1:26:36I think it's just part of the lines, part of the toy industry.
- 1:26:40We could have less figures, maybe with the.
- 1:26:44I think the horsemen are one of the most open and honest about
- 1:26:48parts reuse but actually you look at your GI Joe who's and
- 1:26:52half of them have got the same legs.
- 1:26:56Yeah, Marvel Legends they use, Yeah, reuse the parts all the
- 1:26:59time. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:27:01In fact. And I'd argue it's just harder
- 1:27:04to see in some lines because there's less detail in the
- 1:27:06sculpts and less paint and blah blah blah.
- 1:27:09I'd say 90% of the time I don't care, Especially if there's a
- 1:27:15new head sculpt, then I really don't care.
- 1:27:18Yeah. You know, a new head sculpt and
- 1:27:20different paint. I'm easy to please.
- 1:27:24Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:27:24You know, So if there was one new part on any figure, I'd say
- 1:27:28head sculpt, please. You know, 90% of the time the
- 1:27:33animal people don't interest me. OK get out of here.
- 1:27:40Perhaps it's just me. I feel like there hasn't been a
- 1:27:43pretty significant dry spells for certain races and factions.
- 1:27:47I know on a long enough timeline it will resolve itself.
- 1:27:52They get a niche for something and I feel like most of the
- 1:27:56existing ones are out of print or live on the cosmic side.
- 1:28:02This is varied female characters.
- 1:28:05Yeah, I think it is. Just play the long game on this
- 1:28:07one. You'll get what you want
- 1:28:08eventually. And you know, we see the waves
- 1:28:12taking, you know, a bit longer than normal at the moment.
- 1:28:14Hopefully that'll sort itself out.
- 1:28:16But yeah, if we want new tooling and different variety of stuff,
- 1:28:20then it does just take its time. Yeah, also it's 250 figures.
- 1:28:25If you have 250 figures and you got humans, elves, vampires,
- 1:28:29wolves, goblins and orcs. I mean, some people might like
- 1:28:32that, but that's a lot of the same sort of thing over and over
- 1:28:36again. Yeah, varieties of spice of
- 1:28:38life. It's funnily enough one of the
- 1:28:40things I think they may be trying to address, yeah, whether
- 1:28:44it's consciously or not, with this removal of the Faction V
- 1:28:49faction. Yeah, maybe.
- 1:28:52Waves, whatever, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:28:55Also the RPG I think will help. Yeah, I feel as though the four
- 1:29:01gods should have been a bit taller than the normal ones.
- 1:29:03I think they got a horse to sit on.
- 1:29:06Yeah, but I mean, even Jeremy, I think is so we might been
- 1:29:10Jeremy. I can't remember who said
- 1:29:11actually, yeah, our theory, if they were, you know, doing it
- 1:29:15now, they'd probably do it differently.
- 1:29:16So yeah, yeah, it depends their character.
- 1:29:19All the product of their particular time in the line and
- 1:29:22it's cool, yeah, in that. Way you know what I would argue
- 1:29:26a Lithia and. Necronominus cronominus, a part
- 1:29:31of the road size. Yeah, wouldn't do anything.
- 1:29:32But I think so too. Umm, I did not use the armoured
- 1:29:39legs on Poxus, but otherwise I think he's great.
- 1:29:42It's Arathea, isn't? It is, but he was the first one.
- 1:29:45Was the first one. You should have on a brute body,
- 1:29:48yeah. Then yeah.
- 1:29:50You know, he was at a time when the line that, you know, just
- 1:29:54started to come out of not even Kickstarter to kind of grow.
- 1:29:57So yeah, yeah, eh. Goblins at the heart of mythos.
- 1:30:01Every other group is simply background noise.
- 1:30:03So they can have I can't, I can't champion this goblin.
- 1:30:09We're not a goblin, eh? Broadcasts, you know.
- 1:30:12I don't mind the goblin. I like the little fellas.
- 1:30:15Yeah, I love and a lot of the fans are Kirby, one of our
- 1:30:18biggest fans, eh, commenting every week on the show.
- 1:30:21But yeah, I think all factions are great.
- 1:30:26Goblins are one of them. Yeah.
- 1:30:29Except for everything. And according to them, unmasked
- 1:30:33helmeted heads are too big for my taste.
- 1:30:35Love. Them, they're my favourite,
- 1:30:38yeah. And some people are saying the
- 1:30:40helmets are not the right. The heads are too big for the
- 1:30:42helmets so can't please. Say you're getting really done
- 1:30:47to it there, aren't you? If someone if you've got a
- 1:30:49figure holding a helmet in his hand with an unhelmeted head and
- 1:30:53you go, oh, that helmet wouldn't fit on that head, then you need
- 1:30:55something more exciting today like.
- 1:30:56A Kung Fu grip? How about hold his?
- 1:30:58Helmet unhelmeted figure holding a helmet with a face plate in
- 1:31:04it. That look good, wouldn't it?
- 1:31:08Headless figure with a. No, no, no, no.
- 1:31:11Yes, he's normal. His his normal like unhelmeted
- 1:31:14head on and then he has his helmet.
- 1:31:15With his face, just hold it up like a war trophy.
- 1:31:21Look, I pulled my own head off. Uh, the helmeted ones are
- 1:31:24proportioned better. That gets me more than the
- 1:31:27articulation. My solution is just to put the
- 1:31:29helmets on all my figures or change the head entirely.
- 1:31:33OK, well, good. Same person following on, wasn't
- 1:31:38it? Yeah, I think.
- 1:31:38It might have been uh, although I tried to only give everybody
- 1:31:41one except maybe the odd one that was a Patreon of ours.
- 1:31:45I noticed I gave them maybe more than one umm, if they made more
- 1:31:49and more comment uh, bugwings should need their own special
- 1:31:53adapter that only come shouldn't need their only Yeah, that that
- 1:31:58only came with poxes I. Don't think that.
- 1:32:01Yeah, I guess. I don't think that's transmic is
- 1:32:07different, I think. I think they don't fit into the
- 1:32:10mythic portholes or the wing adapters.
- 1:32:16I guess this person, this this person typed this, they must
- 1:32:20have checked it out. I can.
- 1:32:22I'm going to trust them in this. Yeah, Yeah, OK.
- 1:32:27I guess surely they fit into the wing adapters.
- 1:32:29Maybe they don't know about the wing adapters.
- 1:32:32That's what I thought they they just got the same end as wings.
- 1:32:35Although maybe somebody told me actually that the OK we're going
- 1:32:38after, as this is the last one, how ridiculously tight the new
- 1:32:43skeleton builder joints are, especially the hip joints.
- 1:32:46Even after heating up the area, you start to warp the hip socket
- 1:32:49trying to break it. Well it's funny to put my
- 1:32:53comment about variation in the hips is I've had skeletons with
- 1:32:57loose hips. So umm, it varies.
- 1:33:03I would say the tightness is not an issue.
- 1:33:06It is the softness of the plastic on these skeleton
- 1:33:09builders. Might be right there.
- 1:33:11That is the issue because when you heat it up, they go very
- 1:33:14rubbery and then it's very easy to break them.
- 1:33:20Uh, or, you know, or, or the heating up doesn't do the do the
- 1:33:24job of getting the thing out because everything is too soft.
- 1:33:29You needed to be able to stay hard enough that, uh, that it'll
- 1:33:34be able to kind of pop out rather than kind of, yeah.
- 1:33:37That's what. Digging a hole here do you
- 1:33:40think? Have you any opinion here Rich
- 1:33:42or your results in boxes? It's not billed as as such, but
- 1:33:46but the only thing I've ever broken and it just broke.
- 1:33:49Rather than me being stupid and trying to do maybe when it's too
- 1:33:51cold or whatever. It was Max Ilyas's torso.
- 1:33:55His neck just snapped. I did that as well, not Max
- 1:33:58Ilyas. I did it with the Legion, yeah.
- 1:34:00So it's a similar sort of thing I guess.
- 1:34:01Oh yeah man, there's no problem there with his superclassing.
- 1:34:04Monkey. Well, thank you for your
- 1:34:10patience this week with us going through all of that.
- 1:34:13We're done with the bad opinions.
- 1:34:14So that's that. Backup solution for filling out
- 1:34:18an episode is now done and it's a fun one Yeah, if you are
- 1:34:23looking for more of us this week, you know the live stream
- 1:34:26is on or you catch that on the replay if you've missed it live.
- 1:34:29Mal has broken his tuberculae. My he's talking to his wife on
- 1:34:34mute, so we are. My opinion, you need a better
- 1:34:38way of plugging that extra digit, or if you'd call it onto
- 1:34:42the wings. Well, I'll tell you what if if
- 1:34:45we if we're ever stuck for an episode in the future, we can do
- 1:34:47our own unpopular opinions. So start making them now if
- 1:34:50we've managed to find some more other than that.
- 1:34:53By other empire. You're ready for for the outro
- 1:34:55there, Rich. I am sorry the cats are both
- 1:34:58acting like we had a fox or something in the house.
- 1:35:00You probably do. Maybe do?
- 1:35:02You're a fox. Rich, stay safe out there
- 1:35:04everybody. Remember, your opinions are
- 1:35:07valid unless they're about anthropomorphic figures being
- 1:35:09nonsense which based online.
