- 0:00Speaker 1: We did it.
- 0:02Speaker 2: We're back.
- 0:03Speaker 1: We're talking about blowing noses and other things, some potential fluids,
- 0:09Speaker 1: and two out of three are back. But it's a
- 0:12Speaker 1: different one. This time we got the new dad brandon Ja.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It looks like you got a little bit of sleep.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I'm not saying you're what were you looking well rested?
- 0:19Speaker 1: You're looking bad? Or are you looking good? You look
- 0:22Speaker 1: like a little bit rested.
- 0:23Speaker 2: My wife and I have a good plan. We we
- 0:26Speaker 2: we had two children. It's our third one. We had
- 0:29Speaker 2: two children, both of them within about two to three
- 0:32Speaker 2: four weeks. We're sleeping five to six hours a night,
- 0:37Speaker 2: so it was a little different. But we used to
- 0:39Speaker 2: do the okay, i'll feed them at eight, you feed
- 0:41Speaker 2: them at midnight, and I'll feed them at four, okay,
- 0:43Speaker 2: like thing, and it worked. But with this one, I said,
- 0:45Speaker 2: you know what that I get two weeks off of work,
- 0:49Speaker 2: and so why don't we do I'll do the overnight shift,
- 0:52Speaker 2: you do the you do the you know, the day shift.
- 0:54Speaker 2: So six to six, six to six, and so I
- 0:57Speaker 2: was doing six at night until six in the morning. Bro,
- 1:00Speaker 2: and ooh, I wasblem was was the only problem I
- 1:06Speaker 2: ran into was last week one of my first days back.
- 1:08Speaker 2: That night I couldn't get to bed till about two
- 1:11Speaker 2: and then the baby was going nuts and my wife
- 1:13Speaker 2: was having a tough time. You know, you know, you
- 1:15Speaker 2: get a baby, you get you get up. I can't
- 1:18Speaker 2: even show you like a twelve to fifteen inch you know,
- 1:23Speaker 2: wound that's just cut across your insides, baby ripped out
- 1:27Speaker 2: of you, and then you're sewed up, and then try
- 1:29Speaker 2: to heal up and two weeks later you're still hurting. Right,
- 1:31Speaker 2: it's the way.
- 1:32Speaker 1: It's just the physical stuff. That's not even talking the
- 1:35Speaker 1: hormonal stuff and all the other stuff that the that
- 1:38Speaker 1: the women do get from, you know, the pregnancy, and
- 1:41Speaker 1: it's anyway, then sprinkle in the other two kids because
- 1:47Speaker 1: they got their their own ones and needs to because
- 1:49Speaker 1: let's be honest, every time you get a new like
- 1:53Speaker 1: obviously the baby is not a toy, but when kids
- 1:55Speaker 1: get a new toy, then next thing, you know, it's
- 1:56Speaker 1: awesome at first, then the toy just gets thrown in
- 1:59Speaker 1: the corner and it does so I have to imagine
- 2:01Speaker 1: new baby in the house was really cool and exciting,
- 2:03Speaker 1: but when new baby cries a lot and you can't
- 2:06Speaker 1: really do much with new baby, it's probably going to
- 2:09Speaker 1: wear off and be like start that that sibling rivalry already.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Well, we had a I apologize. There was one moment
- 2:19Speaker 2: I had. I'm holding the baby, he's hungry, he's crying.
- 2:23Speaker 2: My oldest child ran into a door knob or something
- 2:26Speaker 2: and was crying. My middle child is just standing in
- 2:32Speaker 2: the living room color and going.
- 2:36Speaker 1: No.
- 2:38Speaker 2: And I thought to myself, we wanted three of these
- 2:40Speaker 2: little bastards.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Not to discourage you, but there has been times where
- 2:47Speaker 1: we have had all three and the wife just crying
- 2:50Speaker 1: for no reason in our house as well. And they're
- 2:53Speaker 1: much older than yours. I don't know what it is. Women.
- 2:57Speaker 1: You guys are different kind of species. But we love you.
- 3:00Speaker 1: We can't live without you.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Okay, it's tough, man, it's tough, but no, but but
- 3:06Speaker 2: things are, things are going well. Now. What we've switched
- 3:09Speaker 2: over to do is I, uh, you know, at night,
- 3:12Speaker 2: I'll we had the in laws here for two weeks,
- 3:14Speaker 2: so that was great. But at night now I take
- 3:16Speaker 2: the baby from six to midnight and she takes a
- 3:19Speaker 2: midnight to six so she at least gets six straight
- 3:20Speaker 2: hours of sleep, which is that's what you need.
- 3:23Speaker 1: You need, baby, baby, sleeps decent.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Three and a half to three hout. Three and a
- 3:29Speaker 2: half hours is about the max he will go.
- 3:31Speaker 1: It's not terrible, could be worse. I know my uh
- 3:34Speaker 1: my kid was not a sleeperger.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yeah, but the good news is, like, all I have
- 3:38Speaker 2: to do is just put them on his belly and
- 3:40Speaker 2: pull them right here, you know, And I'm not sleeping,
- 3:42Speaker 2: so it doesn't you know, I can feel him breathing.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Yeah, from scrolling while having the baby, because you get
- 3:50Speaker 1: extra cell phone time you pick up any he's.
- 3:52Speaker 2: In a different band now, you know.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Hey, Yeah, it's I don't envy that I was just
- 4:00Speaker 1: put in my brain the other day and you had
- 4:01Speaker 1: the baby. I'm like, I couldn't imagine starting over.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Well, the thing was is, you know, many folks choose
- 4:08Speaker 2: not to have children, and we call them smart. Some
- 4:13Speaker 2: people have them early and we make fun of them.
- 4:15Speaker 2: You had a baby when you were seventeen. Well, yeah,
- 4:18Speaker 2: now she's thirty seven and she's having vacations every weekend
- 4:22Speaker 2: because you didn't worry about We waited till we were
- 4:24Speaker 2: thirty five, and so our lives are over.
- 4:28Speaker 1: And you know it's a good thing though at that point,
- 4:30Speaker 1: because you guys, you know what I mean, financially in
- 4:32Speaker 1: a good spot where you know, it's a much different
- 4:35Speaker 1: life than the child in a different upbringing, because, like
- 4:38Speaker 1: you said, if you have a kid when you're young,
- 4:40Speaker 1: you're not making much money. You know, you're starting off
- 4:43Speaker 1: smaller houses, apartments, this and that, you're kind of struggling
- 4:46Speaker 1: to get by, You're stressing. It's a lot different, you know.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I don't know that this psychology aspect of it, but
- 4:52Speaker 1: I have to imagine having to kid a little bit
- 4:54Speaker 1: later probably is going to lead to a less stressful,
- 4:57Speaker 1: potentially better life. So that's that's what about, right.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, and I mean it for the record,
- 5:04Speaker 2: Like I will do this on the radio show to
- 5:06Speaker 2: you all complain a little bit and people like are
- 5:08Speaker 2: you all right? Like you realize that's a character, right,
- 5:10Speaker 2: you realize, like, yes, we jokingly say, I gotta go
- 5:14Speaker 2: back to the ball and chain. But I love that
- 5:15Speaker 2: woman more than any of you and anybody in the
- 5:18Speaker 2: whole world, you know, like she's what completes me and
- 5:21Speaker 2: makes me feel good. So anyway, things are good. It's
- 5:25Speaker 2: it's just the dealing with the changing, you know, being tired,
- 5:29Speaker 2: being not tired, you know, getting sleep, not getting sleep thing.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Yeah, which temporaries exhaustion. But everybody always says, oh, time
- 5:36Speaker 1: flies by, doesn't it. Look at the baby. I was like,
- 5:39Speaker 1: you know what, when my child was very young, time
- 5:42Speaker 1: did not fly by. It felt like the first three
- 5:44Speaker 1: years of her life took forever, which isn't a bad thing.
- 5:49Speaker 1: But now time is really flying by. So it's you know,
- 5:53Speaker 1: like I obviously coach youth sports in the grade that
- 5:56Speaker 1: she's in. This is going to be the last. You know,
- 5:59Speaker 1: we got like two or three weeks left and then
- 6:01Speaker 1: she's done in basketball. Then we do softball, your softball,
- 6:03Speaker 1: but then after softball she's into school sports. You know,
- 6:07Speaker 1: where it's you know, ran a little bit more serious
- 6:09Speaker 1: and I'm still want to have fun, but you know,
- 6:12Speaker 1: modified style level. But that stuff starting to fly by.
- 6:16Speaker 1: The oldest is varsity sports. It's it's crazy.
- 6:20Speaker 2: You're in the middle of it, man, But you're not
- 6:22Speaker 2: gonna be forever, right, you know that's what they mean
- 6:25Speaker 2: they say, enjoy it, right because it's when it's gone,
- 6:27Speaker 2: it's gone, and you'll miss you know, you'll you'll not
- 6:30Speaker 2: have to put you in that spot, but you'll be
- 6:32Speaker 2: sitting here in this seat right here, you'll turn, you'll
- 6:34Speaker 2: turn ninety degrees over to the wall and you'll see
- 6:36Speaker 2: that whistle hanging on the wall, and you'll bring those
- 6:38Speaker 2: memories will come back, you know. So it's tough. It's
- 6:42Speaker 2: an entire waster of weekends. I'm sure I haven't had
- 6:44Speaker 2: to deal with that part of it yet as a parent.
- 6:46Speaker 2: The sports and activities the kids are involved in is
- 6:49Speaker 2: what he's talking about. But it's, uh, it's it's it's
- 6:54Speaker 2: like usually, like everything else, nothing is as good as
- 6:57Speaker 2: you think it is and as bad as you think
- 6:59Speaker 2: it is. And when the tough, frustrating times are gone,
- 7:03Speaker 2: you usually look back on them fondly or laugh.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Right yep, like he and that's why you been's not here.
- 7:10Speaker 1: He is sitting in a gym, probably you know, getting
- 7:13Speaker 1: a new hemorrhoid. And you know if he does use
- 7:17Speaker 1: use roid rage. You know, we got a code in
- 7:19Speaker 1: the link in the description, but yeah, sitting in a
- 7:21Speaker 1: gym concession stand food. We talked about the last couple
- 7:24Speaker 1: of weeks, we started doing a thing because we've been
- 7:27Speaker 1: in so many gyms where we were starting to just
- 7:28Speaker 1: rank concession stands because we've been in so many god tamn,
- 7:32Speaker 1: he had won that, like pulled pork and stuff. I mean,
- 7:34Speaker 1: we're lucky up here to maybe get a hot dog
- 7:36Speaker 1: in ease. Yeah, yeah, but so's that's that's where he
- 7:40Speaker 1: is today. One of his kids has a tournament, and
- 7:42Speaker 1: it's one of those things for everybody that knows tournaments.
- 7:44Speaker 1: You could lose and be done early, or if you
- 7:46Speaker 1: make it all the way, you're there from eight in
- 7:48Speaker 1: the morning to potentially six or seven at night, but
- 7:53Speaker 1: at least at the time of the recording. I don't
- 7:55Speaker 1: you don't get the day off. I don't get the
- 7:57Speaker 1: day off. Have to imagine you've been doesn't either. But
- 7:59Speaker 1: up here, all the kids are off for their midwinter break.
- 8:05Speaker 2: So I need to move to New York. Should have
- 8:07Speaker 2: lived in upstate New York. My god, that sounds wonderful.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Okay, with that being said, we are in the middle
- 8:13Speaker 1: of a storm warning and we've already got four feet
- 8:15Speaker 1: of snow. We're gonna get two more. So I think
- 8:17Speaker 1: you're gonna retract that statement.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Wow, bro, how much you have to worry about, like
- 8:22Speaker 2: the snow on top of your houses and stuff like that.
- 8:24Speaker 1: It's a worry not for me, but a lot of
- 8:27Speaker 1: people in the area. You actually have to and this
- 8:29Speaker 1: might sound dumb to some people, especially in warmer states,
- 8:31Speaker 1: but you you buy roof rates so you can stand
- 8:34Speaker 1: on the ground, and they're heavy, they're hard to work,
- 8:37Speaker 1: but you have to get the weight off of the roof.
- 8:40Speaker 1: My pitch on my roof is more or less. I
- 8:43Speaker 1: don't know what shape that would be for anybody just listening.
- 8:45Speaker 1: It is like very very steep, so there's no way
- 8:47Speaker 1: that the snow can actually build up on it.
- 8:49Speaker 2: We call that a triangle. I'm kidding.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Well, I was thinking, like to describe it as like
- 8:55Speaker 1: a tepee or something, but then TP sounds like toilet paper,
- 8:59Speaker 1: and my brain was igling insight because I'm a child.
- 9:01Speaker 1: But yeah, Actually, a buddy of mine we got together
- 9:04Speaker 1: last night. I had a couple of drinks. He's like, hey, man, sorry,
- 9:06Speaker 1: I couldn't get here. I had to not only shovel
- 9:09Speaker 1: my roof off, but then I had to go to
- 9:10Speaker 1: my mom's house and this and that and like and
- 9:12Speaker 1: it was just the weather's brutal. But I'll tell you what.
- 9:16Speaker 1: My nephews and them, they got a hockey tournament at
- 9:18Speaker 1: the time of the recording, and they are like an
- 9:20Speaker 1: hour and a half away in complete white out condition,
- 9:22Speaker 1: hour and a half with a normal drive. Wow, it's
- 9:25Speaker 1: going to be a very long ride home. And they
- 9:27Speaker 1: wouldn't cancel the tournament. Like these hockey things are just
- 9:30Speaker 1: unbelievable around here. Granted we're on the Canadian border, so
- 9:33Speaker 1: they take their hockey up here pretty serious. But I
- 9:36Speaker 1: mean not to cancel a tournament knowing ahead of time
- 9:39Speaker 1: that it's going to be and there's one team that's
- 9:41Speaker 1: probably three to four hours away on good roads and
- 9:45Speaker 1: they are going to have a brutal ride home.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I can only imagine. I will say this though
- 9:52Speaker 2: you talked about you've been earning a new hemorrhoid sitting
- 9:56Speaker 2: on the bench. I could not do what you guys
- 9:59Speaker 2: do and be coaches. I could not be like, God,
- 10:01Speaker 2: damn it, Jessica, I set aim for the square, you know,
- 10:04Speaker 2: like I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it. Stop
- 10:09Speaker 2: here crying.
- 10:11Speaker 1: It's yeah, there's a lot to it. I'm very thankful
- 10:13Speaker 1: because I've coached the same kids in three pretty much
- 10:16Speaker 1: three sports since they were very like second and third grade,
- 10:20Speaker 1: So they get me. I get them, and you know,
- 10:23Speaker 1: I've just learned so much, not only about myself, about
- 10:26Speaker 1: the game, and I'm very grateful the kind of the
- 10:28Speaker 1: district that I'm working in, the youth thing. The varsity
- 10:31Speaker 1: coach in basketball is just a legend. He is one
- 10:35Speaker 1: of the most funny, sarcastic but brilliant brains, and you know,
- 10:40Speaker 1: just to be able to bounce ideas and kind of
- 10:41Speaker 1: lead from his example of how he runs his team
- 10:45Speaker 1: and how he wants it all the way down has
- 10:46Speaker 1: made my life so much easier. In the parent group
- 10:49Speaker 1: that I have, they're awesome. Like you've probably heard the
- 10:52Speaker 1: Karen stories, seen the videos on all the socials of
- 10:55Speaker 1: like parents freaking out at matches. We have a great
- 10:58Speaker 1: parent group. There's no issues, you know, they're just like, hey,
- 11:01Speaker 1: you're in it for the right reasons. Maybe it's because
- 11:03Speaker 1: we're successful and their kids are continually getting better and
- 11:06Speaker 1: better each year that they don't really have. There's probably
- 11:09Speaker 1: things I do things wrong sometimes, let's be honest. We're human, sure,
- 11:12Speaker 1: but it's kind of the stars aligned for me and
- 11:15Speaker 1: the group that I have, and it's pretty sweet. But
- 11:19Speaker 1: like you said, it is tough because the youth sports
- 11:23Speaker 1: are around here and in the country. I mean, from
- 11:25Speaker 1: the videos you see, there are some moments that are unbelievable.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I mean, coaches, parents getting thrown out at gyms, and
- 11:31Speaker 1: it's just like it's not a good scene.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it. It's if mind boggling you hear about it.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I've seen it a little bit in the baseball and
- 11:40Speaker 2: softball worlds. Do you find it? I don't know if
- 11:43Speaker 2: you do much of that up there, but I would
- 11:46Speaker 2: assume that the heckling from parents is worse at baseball
- 11:51Speaker 2: and softball games because you're outside. You know, you're not in. Yeah,
- 11:55Speaker 2: you're on probably public property, you know what I'm saying. Like,
- 11:59Speaker 2: if you're in a gym, you can get kicked out
- 12:00Speaker 2: of a gym. Sure, you can get kicked out of
- 12:02Speaker 2: the stands. The ump can go get out of here.
- 12:04Speaker 2: But I'm gonna walk back to the parking lot. Yeah
- 12:06Speaker 2: I'm out of here, you know.
- 12:08Speaker 1: See for softball, I do softball as well. I've only
- 12:13Speaker 1: had one real bad incident and it was with other
- 12:17Speaker 1: coaches kind of having meltdown the parents. They'll chirp here
- 12:20Speaker 1: or there, but we do a pretty good job of
- 12:22Speaker 1: shutting it up because we have more as less kids
- 12:25Speaker 1: are doing the umpires, you know, and so you go
- 12:27Speaker 1: to some other places. These kids are probably ten to
- 12:31Speaker 1: twelve years old playing and sometimes you have a thirteen
- 12:33Speaker 1: or fourteen year old umping just because they're volunteers. Maybe
- 12:36Speaker 1: they get twenty bucks, you know, their parents like, hey,
- 12:38Speaker 1: you're gonna ump. So I don't tolerate parents screaming at
- 12:41Speaker 1: kids who are umps. If fits a little different and
- 12:44Speaker 1: they're like a for the playoffs, the final four, we
- 12:47Speaker 1: have certified umpires that come in. They know how to
- 12:49Speaker 1: handle that stuff. But you're not gonna just chirp. I'm
- 12:52Speaker 1: thankful enough where I'll reach out and get varsity kids,
- 12:55Speaker 1: you know, seventeen eighteen year old kids that know the
- 12:57Speaker 1: game a little bit better and have a little bit
- 13:01Speaker 1: you know, thicker skin. I guess as the saying sure,
- 13:03Speaker 1: but yeah, you're not. I've had people freak out on
- 13:05Speaker 1: fourteen year old kids and I'm like, nope, you got
- 13:08Speaker 1: you gotta leave, buddy, right. My ultimate move is hold
- 13:12Speaker 1: on and I'll make a time out, time out, time out.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I'll take the umpire gear, I'll take the face mask,
- 13:16Speaker 1: I'll take the chest protector, and I'm walking over to
- 13:18Speaker 1: them and I go, hey, there you go. This game
- 13:20Speaker 1: will not start until you volunteer your time. You are
- 13:23Speaker 1: now the umpire. You clearly know the game well enough,
- 13:25Speaker 1: and you know you're yelling at a child, which is
- 13:28Speaker 1: a charge in the state of New York. But this
- 13:30Speaker 1: game will not start until you get out there. If
- 13:33Speaker 1: you want a couple of practice pitches to get a
- 13:35Speaker 1: feel for it, let us know. And the last time
- 13:37Speaker 1: I did that to somebody, they go point taking, I
- 13:40Speaker 1: apologize and I will not say another word, and they didn't.
- 13:44Speaker 2: You know, I mean, I get it. Your kids out there,
- 13:48Speaker 2: you want them to do well. You don't want them
- 13:49Speaker 2: to be cheated. You probably view the world through the
- 13:54Speaker 2: skew of somebody's out to get you, or you know,
- 14:00Speaker 2: you're ultra critical of even the closest calls. These are humans,
- 14:04Speaker 2: mostly here volunteering. Maybe they're making twenty bucks. Like it's
- 14:09Speaker 2: not rookie ball. You know, we're not talking about your
- 14:13Speaker 2: kid got signed a six thousand dollars signing bonus and
- 14:15Speaker 2: now he's playing, you know, for some team with bananas
- 14:18Speaker 2: on their hats, you know, like it's these are kids
- 14:20Speaker 2: having fun, learning fundamentals. Half of these kids won't even
- 14:23Speaker 2: play another sport in their life, you know.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Yeah, and most of them won't even go on to
- 14:27Speaker 1: the next level and modified let alone then go to
- 14:29Speaker 1: potential JV varsity and ninety something percent of athletes don't
- 14:34Speaker 1: play college because it's it's a tough world, like you said,
- 14:38Speaker 1: and you're not getting them to love the game. By
- 14:42Speaker 1: screaming at empires and being a complete psychopath on the sidelines,
- 14:45Speaker 1: you're going to embarrass your kid to the point where
- 14:47Speaker 1: they're like, I'm not putting myself through this anymore. Why
- 14:50Speaker 1: my parents a psycho? And our strake zone is from
- 14:54Speaker 1: your chin to your shin because because I actually run
- 14:57Speaker 1: the league and I'm like, it's from your chinder your
- 14:59Speaker 1: sha swing the back because at this level it is
- 15:02Speaker 1: hard for because it's not coach pitch. The kids are pitching,
- 15:05Speaker 1: and it's hard for a lot of these girls to
- 15:07Speaker 1: be consistent with strikes. You're not going to have a
- 15:09Speaker 1: small little strike zone. Open that thing up, make them
- 15:11Speaker 1: swing that ball was out? It was high? Yeah, well
- 15:15Speaker 1: was that at the gin?
- 15:16Speaker 2: Yep?
- 15:16Speaker 1: Well, our strike zone has chined. That's the stupidest thing
- 15:18Speaker 1: I've ever heard. Yeah, and you're the stupidest person I've
- 15:21Speaker 1: ever heard today. So let's all move on.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Well, it's rules we have all agreed upon and whether
- 15:26Speaker 2: you know it, like it, or approve of it or not,
- 15:29Speaker 2: that's what we do. If you'd like to start your
- 15:31Speaker 2: own league, congratulations, good luck, and if you'd lack points,
- 15:35Speaker 2: I'll send you an email.
- 15:36Speaker 1: You know, because but he gets anything out of watching
- 15:38Speaker 1: walk walk walk, poor pitchwalk, poor pitchwalk. And it's just
- 15:42Speaker 1: like because we do a five runs or three outs
- 15:45Speaker 1: and most of the time it's five runs, rarely three outs.
- 15:49Speaker 1: And it's right. It makes for some long days.
- 15:51Speaker 2: But I can imagine it's tough.
- 15:55Speaker 1: But at least we're outside, not sitting in the gym
- 15:58Speaker 1: because I'm getting sick of these bleachers. Thankfully, I guess
- 16:02Speaker 1: as me as a coach, I don't have to just
- 16:03Speaker 1: sit in the bleachers. I get to pace, and I
- 16:05Speaker 1: get to walk up and down and you know, move
- 16:08Speaker 1: a little bit. Sit in those bleachers all day, you
- 16:10Speaker 1: get more sore doing that than I probably would do
- 16:13Speaker 1: actually doing a workout. Right, it's crazy.
- 16:16Speaker 2: I would definitely be the pacing coach. I cannot sit
- 16:19Speaker 2: for to save my life.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I've been coaching for years and I'm the same way.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I can I've tried. I'm like, I'm going to sit
- 16:29Speaker 1: here and just let them. Like, and there's so many
- 16:32Speaker 1: coaches that are just like, go over here, you gotta
- 16:34Speaker 1: do this, go set the pick, run, and I'm just
- 16:36Speaker 1: like they got to figure this stuff out. Like every
- 16:38Speaker 1: once in a while, like I'll say, hey, run this play,
- 16:41Speaker 1: Hey watch out, there's somebody behind like little stuff. But
- 16:44Speaker 1: I just can't sit there. I just can't sit.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Yeah, how long do games last? I mean, do you guys?
- 16:51Speaker 2: Do quarters has for basketball?
- 16:53Speaker 1: It's different, but each tournament what they'll do typically is
- 16:57Speaker 1: like fifteen or sixteen minute halves. They'll do two haves
- 17:00Speaker 1: running time. The only time the clock will stop is
- 17:02Speaker 1: for timeouts, fall shots, and subs. So it keeps them moving,
- 17:06Speaker 1: you know, you try to keep it within a forty
- 17:08Speaker 1: five minute window. And like I said, some tournaments, like
- 17:12Speaker 1: I said, we got one coming up, Paul goes, well,
- 17:15Speaker 1: well we make the championship, we get four games, and
- 17:17Speaker 1: we don't make it. You get three. So I mean,
- 17:19Speaker 1: you're you know, if you draw the first game for
- 17:21Speaker 1: some reason, we always do. We're there at eight. You're
- 17:23Speaker 1: in the championship game. It's usually five or six. So
- 17:26Speaker 1: you are there all day, and usually the concession stands
- 17:29Speaker 1: aren't great in the schools where we are middle of nowhere.
- 17:33Speaker 1: You want to go somewhere, You're driving twenty thirty minutes,
- 17:36Speaker 1: you know, one way, just to go get something to
- 17:38Speaker 1: eat or kill some time, and it's just long enough
- 17:41Speaker 1: that you don't really want to go home and then
- 17:43Speaker 1: have to come back either.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, I mean my thought process with concession
- 17:50Speaker 2: stands is you have to have at least one or
- 17:54Speaker 2: two hot items. You have to have a hot dog
- 17:56Speaker 2: in nachos. You have to have a hot dog in pretzel.
- 17:58Speaker 2: You know, you have to have something like that. You
- 18:00Speaker 2: can't just give peanuts and chips and candy out. You know.
- 18:02Speaker 1: It's got thing up here lately is the walking tacos.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I'll deal with walking tacos, that's all right.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Yep. See, with me and my stomach issues, I don't
- 18:11Speaker 1: really want to risk eating and then have to poop
- 18:13Speaker 1: at some of these schools, because, let's beyond a school,
- 18:16Speaker 1: bathrooms are abc and disgusting.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Have you ever walked into an elementary bathroom and tried
- 18:23Speaker 2: to poop and like your knees are above your head
- 18:26Speaker 2: because they're.
- 18:26Speaker 1: So you don't need a squatty potty because you're squatting
- 18:31Speaker 1: on that potty. Yeah, it's and they just dank like
- 18:34Speaker 1: stale piss. And it's not all schools, let's be honest
- 18:38Speaker 1: with some of them. We were just at the oldest
- 18:40Speaker 1: had her her last game of the regular season. We
- 18:44Speaker 1: were at this school. There was no bathrooms in the
- 18:47Speaker 1: locker room. I don't know if they just weren't working,
- 18:49Speaker 1: and there was just physically no toilets. So the girls
- 18:51Speaker 1: when they were getting changed had to obviously get changed
- 18:54Speaker 1: and then go out to the bathroom. Usually it's in
- 18:56Speaker 1: the hallway right outside the gym, but apparently those bathrooms
- 18:59Speaker 1: weren't working. You pretty much had to navigate, which they
- 19:01Speaker 1: did good with the signs. You had to navigate all
- 19:04Speaker 1: through the school, walk by an area that was shut
- 19:07Speaker 1: down because of asbestos, and then find these bathrooms and go.
- 19:11Speaker 1: And it was like a not that it's that long,
- 19:13Speaker 1: but I was like, man, this is like a three
- 19:15Speaker 1: minute walk. You better if you gotta go, you better
- 19:17Speaker 1: time that thing a little bit better. Wild speaking of that,
- 19:23Speaker 1: we went to this so after the game, we ended
- 19:26Speaker 1: up there was there was a restaurant up there. It's
- 19:28Speaker 1: like in a historic building. It's like if you picture
- 19:31Speaker 1: like an old old school bar that's got the old setting,
- 19:35Speaker 1: like the old say, like leather, reddish chairs and all
- 19:38Speaker 1: this stuff like old building. And I've heard the food
- 19:41Speaker 1: is really good. Everybody goes there and it's like, hey,
- 19:42Speaker 1: you gotta try the pizza, all right, Well, I love pizza.
- 19:46Speaker 1: So we tried a pizza. It was a large, one
- 19:49Speaker 1: topping pizza, homemade dough, homemade sauce. It was a great pie.
- 19:54Speaker 1: My opinion, a little bit too expensive because it was
- 19:56Speaker 1: twenty three fifty for a large three of us with
- 20:00Speaker 1: three or four slices to go. Good sized pizza just
- 20:03Speaker 1: seemed a little bit much. But it's a brick oven pizza.
- 20:05Speaker 1: I think as well. It was good. It was good.
- 20:08Speaker 1: And it's a smaller town. I get they don't get
- 20:10Speaker 1: a lot of as much traffic as is some places.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Great pizza, great pizza. And then the youngest got some
- 20:17Speaker 1: poutine or putin. I don't know if you guys have
- 20:19Speaker 1: that out your way. I know, yeah, man, it was
- 20:22Speaker 1: I think I got a picture here. It was a mountain.
- 20:25Speaker 1: So here's the pizza. Good looking pie. Good look at pie.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Nothing there And then this is the poutine. The gravy
- 20:39Speaker 1: makes a poutine. Oh it's so good.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I don't know if you're like that all looks good
- 20:42Speaker 2: to me. I hope that's what you were trying to convey.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it was fantastic. And like I said, so,
- 20:48Speaker 1: the kid pounds a fresh cheese card great, great gravy,
- 20:53Speaker 1: Love the atmosphere, love the environment. So we're driving home,
- 20:56Speaker 1: and of course me, when I eat, my stomach issues
- 20:59Speaker 1: usually I'm like, all right, I got about this much time,
- 21:02Speaker 1: but I hate two slices. I'm like, I feel good.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I feel good. So we gotta go and drop kid
- 21:07Speaker 1: off at our maz and then we're going to uh,
- 21:09Speaker 1: we're going to the tavern to have a couple beverages
- 21:12Speaker 1: with some people. Don't I drop her off. We're probably
- 21:15Speaker 1: not very good roads. I get the bubble guts. I'm like, oh,
- 21:21Speaker 1: I look at the wife. I'm like, I'm gonna shiit
- 21:23Speaker 1: my pants. She's like, we don't have time for this.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I'm like, I am going to ship my pants.
- 21:27Speaker 2: There. There's no pausing when it comes to poop, honey,
- 21:30Speaker 2: like this this is coming first.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Like she knows my stomach and she's like, well, what
- 21:33Speaker 1: are we gonna do? So I'm like, we're gonna pass
- 21:35Speaker 1: by this restaurant. If they're open, I'm gonna pop in
- 21:37Speaker 1: there running, take a dump, go get a drink or
- 21:39Speaker 1: an appetizer. I don't care. I have to go, don't.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I drive by and there's about forty five snowmobiles because
- 21:44Speaker 1: there's a poker run going on. I go, Nope, can't
- 21:47Speaker 1: go there. So I'm going. I'm like, I am frantically
- 21:49Speaker 1: calling Logan because it's right where we have to go
- 21:52Speaker 1: is like right by his house. I'm like, please pick up,
- 21:54Speaker 1: please pick up. Nope, please pick up, please pick up. Nope.
- 21:57Speaker 1: I'm like, son up. I'm like, all right, well, we're
- 22:00Speaker 1: going to Dollar General Hunt. So we rip into the
- 22:02Speaker 1: Dollar General. I'm like, going and buy a loaf of
- 22:04Speaker 1: bread or something. I don't care. And I look at her.
- 22:06Speaker 1: I go, if somebody's in there, I have to I'm
- 22:09Speaker 1: gonna have to use the women's room. And if they're
- 22:11Speaker 1: both done, like I am in trouble. And she was like,
- 22:14Speaker 1: so I run through the parking lot. I I turned
- 22:18Speaker 1: the corner. I see the bathroom as wide open, and
- 22:20Speaker 1: it was like, ah leelujah. So I go in there.
- 22:24Speaker 1: I didn't even care. I didn't know, like there's no
- 22:26Speaker 1: lock on the door, but apparently it's just locked all
- 22:28Speaker 1: the time. I didn't care, and I just made I mean,
- 22:31Speaker 1: I'm running through Dollar General, belt buckles already belts undone,
- 22:35Speaker 1: ready to go. It was miserable, but man, I did
- 22:41Speaker 1: shit them though. That's it's that's gotta be one of
- 22:46Speaker 1: the worst feelings in the world, knowing that you have
- 22:48Speaker 1: to shit. You can't really hold it and it needs
- 22:51Speaker 1: to come out.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Like. It's not a good feeling, right, I like, my
- 22:56Speaker 2: first nephew is being bored two dozen and seven, and
- 23:00Speaker 2: to god, he's already years old. Oh Jesus Christ, anyway.
- 23:04Speaker 1: We're old.
- 23:05Speaker 2: We were I was in my work clothes and I
- 23:09Speaker 2: was in with my sister. We were in the cafeteria eating.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Two sisters. One's having a baby, the other one's eating
- 23:15Speaker 2: with me. Okay, we're in the cafeteria eating and I go,
- 23:20Speaker 2: I feel a fart. I let one rip. I look
- 23:22Speaker 2: up at Brittany, my sister, and I go, uh, oh, Brittany,
- 23:25Speaker 2: I just I just ship my pants. She goes, what
- 23:29Speaker 2: I go, I just ship my pants. And it's like
- 23:33Speaker 2: it's not like, ooh, here's a turd that popped out.
- 23:36Speaker 2: We're talking straight liquid, bro, just straight liquid. Because I
- 23:40Speaker 2: hadn't eat. I've just been smoking. I had been smoking cigarettes.
- 23:43Speaker 2: I don't smoke anymore, it's been more than thirteen years,
- 23:46Speaker 2: but just straight smoking cigarettes and die coke cigarettes, die cad.
- 23:49Speaker 2: It's what I've been doing all day, or coffee. She's like, what,
- 23:52Speaker 2: I go, Brittany, I'm gonna stand up and turn around,
- 23:54Speaker 2: and I want you to tell me. I stand up
- 23:56Speaker 2: and turn around and I turn back around and it's
- 23:59Speaker 2: just the silent, lost my breath laugh just but and
- 24:07Speaker 2: I'm like, oh my god. So I pull my pants
- 24:09Speaker 2: up and I untuck my long shirt. Thank god it
- 24:12Speaker 2: was long. It covered this long streak of water shits
- 24:17Speaker 2: down my leg that went back to my knee basically.
- 24:20Speaker 2: And I went to the bathroom and I took care
- 24:21Speaker 2: of myself, and I I was like, oh my god,
- 24:24Speaker 2: there's nothing I can do. I can't change out of ease.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I mean, man, did you start carrying like an extra
- 24:29Speaker 1: pair of clothes just in case or was it kind
- 24:32Speaker 1: of you r one undone.
- 24:33Speaker 2: We've never talked about this publicly, but they're say there's
- 24:36Speaker 2: something I truly believe in, something I believed in for
- 24:40Speaker 2: a long time. And as a man with IBSU two
- 24:43Speaker 2: probably are familiar with this. You may call it something else.
- 24:46Speaker 2: You may use it from time to time, you may
- 24:49Speaker 2: use it daily. I call it the man pond. I
- 24:53Speaker 2: take a piece of toilet paper, wrap it up five
- 24:56Speaker 2: or six, seven, eight times, I fold it in half,
- 24:58Speaker 2: and I stick it betwixt my cheeks. And if I
- 25:03Speaker 2: have to go somewhere crazy where I'm not going to
- 25:06Speaker 2: be able to get to a bathroom within twenty minutes
- 25:08Speaker 2: or you know what I mean. There's a track, there's
- 25:11Speaker 2: a walk, there's a you can't you know whatever. And
- 25:15Speaker 2: it's been a lifesaver many times. It's been a lifesaver
- 25:17Speaker 2: many times. Yeah, I will say, Brownie, thank you. You
- 25:20Speaker 2: are the quicker picker Upper for sure.
- 25:24Speaker 1: The ultimate endorsement deal just happened. And nobody even knows.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I've heard the man pon. The first time I heard
- 25:30Speaker 1: the man pon was or that phrase was, Remember the
- 25:33Speaker 1: show Robin Big. Yeah, it was the first time Big
- 25:37Speaker 1: he was a man pounder and he was telling Rob
- 25:39Speaker 1: about it. The one time I haven't done the move.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Probably should consider it putting it in the arsenal at
- 25:44Speaker 1: some point. But is that an actual product that you.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Could could tell No, I don't know. I know dude
- 25:51Speaker 2: wipes has stuff. I don't know anything like that. But
- 25:54Speaker 2: I will say this, it's it's not just been a
- 25:58Speaker 2: lifesaver when it comes to accidents. But like you don't
- 26:01Speaker 2: get streaks in your undies anyway, I had streaks and
- 26:03Speaker 2: my undies in twenty years.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Man, especially, say what you want, laugh.
- 26:07Speaker 2: All you want. I mean, and you know we're not
- 26:09Speaker 2: talking in continence, even though that's not a problem either,
- 26:12Speaker 2: as stuff that happens naturally to your body you have
- 26:14Speaker 2: no control over. If you can't hold your bladder or
- 26:16Speaker 2: your your guts like it, it happens whatever. But hey,
- 26:20Speaker 2: I'm not trying to extend my laundry time, you know,
- 26:24Speaker 2: or you know, have to clean up after, you know,
- 26:26Speaker 2: clean up on aisle me.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Right, made this. I made the switch to the nicer,
- 26:33Speaker 1: like more expensive underwear too, so I don't want some
- 26:37Speaker 1: issues going there. It's been it's been a game changer.
- 26:39Speaker 1: I feel like a million bucks putting on these these
- 26:42Speaker 1: fancy underwear. Did it suck pain a little bit more? Yeah?
- 26:45Speaker 1: But telling you what it's worth it.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:49Speaker 1: The ones that I got, they got, they got a
- 26:50Speaker 1: ball pouch. My boys are in comfort all day and
- 26:53Speaker 1: they're anti cooling, so hopefully it limits the old swamp ass.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Do you say anti cooling cooling?
- 27:03Speaker 1: I think I said anti cooling. Yeah, they're actually heated underwear.
- 27:07Speaker 1: It's gonna help us cool.
- 27:09Speaker 2: You grow tomatoes down there, man, yeah, that would be
- 27:15Speaker 2: I once had the My wife bought me these new
- 27:17Speaker 2: underwear for Christmas. These like there weren't tidy whities, but
- 27:20Speaker 2: they were like under armor kind of stuff. They're real stretchy,
- 27:23Speaker 2: real good, make you look good, you know, like you
- 27:26Speaker 2: walk around boxer. I can't do boxes. I got tree
- 27:28Speaker 2: trunks for legs boxers of their first time your legs
- 27:31Speaker 2: go like this and it's and it gets ripped for me. Anyway,
- 27:36Speaker 2: she bought these and I'm wearing them, and I'm like,
- 27:39Speaker 2: oh my god. Like cotton underwear. What's great about cotton
- 27:42Speaker 2: is it breathes and it allows you to not sweat,
- 27:46Speaker 2: but it also like it doesn't retain the moisture and
- 27:51Speaker 2: the smell from your body right as much it does,
- 27:55Speaker 2: but not as much. These things she had was only
- 27:57Speaker 2: sixty percent polyester bro I took these off after like
- 28:02Speaker 2: half a day and it was like, oh my god,
- 28:04Speaker 2: this is like six day ball sack. You know. It
- 28:07Speaker 2: was awful.
- 28:08Speaker 1: What about those people that wear like silk or whatever
- 28:10Speaker 1: that material is. There's no way I could rock those. No,
- 28:16Speaker 1: that's like is it a thing to show off? Like,
- 28:17Speaker 1: I'm sure they're more expensive, just to be like, yeah,
- 28:19Speaker 1: we's silk bucks, No big deal.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I don't know.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Maybe maybe a pillowcase, but nope, nope.
- 28:30Speaker 2: No.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Wonder why we don't have any female viewers. Huh yeah,
- 28:33Speaker 1: but we hit them home with some parenting stuff. Maybe
- 28:35Speaker 1: we hook them for a little bit at the beginning.
- 28:37Speaker 2: You know, I was going through all my pages and
- 28:40Speaker 2: like looking at the demographics of my followers, and I
- 28:44Speaker 2: don't know about your page. I'm assuming you're probably the
- 28:46Speaker 2: same way because you do beard content. Mine's about sixty
- 28:50Speaker 2: five thirty five dudes on Instagram. It's eighty twenty.
- 28:55Speaker 1: I'm like eighty to ninety.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Yeah that's the dudes.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, understandable. And especially in the beard world, there's
- 29:03Speaker 1: also the beards and the bears, and there's a there's
- 29:06Speaker 1: a lot of people that love beards and mostly they're
- 29:09Speaker 1: all dudes that do I thought there'd be maybe, you know,
- 29:12Speaker 1: some more females, But yeah, I've been loving uh when
- 29:17Speaker 1: you're posting the comments of all the angry crazy people
- 29:20Speaker 1: every once in a while that slide into your comments,
- 29:23Speaker 1: I just I get one. There's one troll out there.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I don't bring any attention to it. But thankfully a
- 29:30Speaker 1: lot of the awkward dms have have stopped from a
- 29:34Speaker 1: lot of the uh, the dudes. But I do hit
- 29:38Speaker 1: that third tab every once in a while on Instagram
- 29:41Speaker 1: and with all the bots and the craziness, just for
- 29:43Speaker 1: good laugh every once in a while.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Is I've got so many broadcast friends radio, TV, and listen,
- 29:51Speaker 2: if you are a TV woman anchor or a TV
- 29:56Speaker 2: reporter and you're a woman, you, out of all TV
- 30:00Speaker 2: radio broadcasters, get the worst of it, the brunt of it,
- 30:03Speaker 2: and believe it or not, you get the creeps from
- 30:05Speaker 2: the dudes, but you get a lot of these old
- 30:07Speaker 2: women who are like, how dare you dress like this?
- 30:09Speaker 2: You know you shouldn't, and it's bad, it's awful, it's
- 30:11Speaker 2: fuck terrible. But I try to tell these folks, not
- 30:14Speaker 2: not the not specifically the women reporters or anything like that,
- 30:17Speaker 2: but just broadcasters in general. When you become a content creator,
- 30:21Speaker 2: it's so much worse because you get you get none
- 30:24Speaker 2: of the respect and you get all of the shit.
- 30:28Speaker 2: You know, you any time to get called a hack,
- 30:30Speaker 2: go get a real job. And I don't even respond
- 30:33Speaker 2: used to I used to be like, I have a
- 30:34Speaker 2: real job. I make this much.
- 30:36Speaker 1: You know, yeah, I have a job. Check out the
- 30:38Speaker 1: link here, I'm live blah blah.
- 30:41Speaker 2: You just yeah, you just deal with it. And one
- 30:45Speaker 2: of the great things about Facebook is I post a
- 30:47Speaker 2: lot of day, but the three little dots turn off notifications.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I never read any of the comments.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Yeah, say, maybe.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Seven percent of them are just gone. But most of
- 30:59Speaker 2: the time. Now I deal a little better with him.
- 31:02Speaker 2: The the your fat your content stocks. You copied this?
- 31:06Speaker 2: Do you really just talk over this? Won't you shut up?
- 31:08Speaker 2: Why are you yelling? You know, like those used to
- 31:11Speaker 2: hurt me. Now it's like you are helping the algorithm.
- 31:14Speaker 2: And maybe I'm comment back thanks for watching the video,
- 31:16Speaker 2: or thanks for the support, or you know, I'm yelling
- 31:18Speaker 2: because I wanted you to comment, you know.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking of Facebook, you were showing me this morning
- 31:23Speaker 1: how wild they've even evolved. They can take a video
- 31:28Speaker 1: and they can put our voice in different languages. Organically
- 31:33Speaker 1: with AI, it's wild. It is unreal. It was so cool.
- 31:37Speaker 1: It was Brandon in his voice, Oh a bit, but
- 31:39Speaker 1: it's a bit of a hot dog. Such a cool
- 31:46Speaker 1: thing to be able to and that was that was
- 31:48Speaker 1: one thing that I remember years and years ago with
- 31:51Speaker 1: old Jimmy mister beast there. He has an entire team, obviously,
- 31:56Speaker 1: and all of his videos that he puts out are
- 31:59Speaker 1: in every single language that you can think of, with
- 32:01Speaker 1: you know, paid actors and all that. And I'm like, man,
- 32:04Speaker 1: I wonder how much money could actually save now just
- 32:06Speaker 1: using AI.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's it's wild, and it's the why it's
- 32:12Speaker 2: become kind of a wild West. I mean, remember the
- 32:14Speaker 2: Souno thing happened where you could create music. We talked
- 32:17Speaker 2: about that many times in the past six months. The
- 32:19Speaker 2: AI is getting better and better, and it's getting even better,
- 32:22Speaker 2: believe it or I mean, it's getting wild. How good
- 32:24Speaker 2: it is. It's it's impacting all of our lives. And
- 32:28Speaker 2: if you're not taking advantage of it in your own jobs,
- 32:32Speaker 2: in how you can especially in a creative job and
- 32:36Speaker 2: in jobs where you want to send respectful professional emails,
- 32:41Speaker 2: but your fingery like it's great.
- 32:44Speaker 1: It is in I don't know, there's the older school
- 32:48Speaker 1: or I know certain people it's like, oh, you're just
- 32:50Speaker 1: you're just gonna let AI do everything for you. It's like, well, no,
- 32:53Speaker 1: you still have to feed at the information. You still
- 32:55Speaker 1: have to have a goal. And I mean, if you're
- 32:57Speaker 1: just saying do this and you take the first one
- 32:59Speaker 1: every time and not actually reading it, you're probably going
- 33:01Speaker 1: to set yourself up for some failure. But it it,
- 33:04Speaker 1: it learns the way you do it. I mean I've
- 33:07Speaker 1: I've gotten to the point where I use it enough
- 33:09Speaker 1: for anywhere from YouTube descriptions to YouTube titles to you know,
- 33:13Speaker 1: all sorts of things that I've actually stepped up and
- 33:17Speaker 1: paid the twenty dollars a month for the old the
- 33:19Speaker 1: GPT of the chatting, and I was, you know, it's shit.
- 33:22Speaker 1: The co host of the Triple T podcast now is
- 33:25Speaker 1: an AI that has self named him Luther Grimwood.
- 33:30Speaker 2: So I want to bring this up. I want to
- 33:32Speaker 2: bring this up. If that's okay, you're you're talking about
- 33:35Speaker 2: this and this is something that for me was a
- 33:39Speaker 2: little bit life changing this week. So when you sign
- 33:44Speaker 2: up for chat GPT, the first thing it tells you
- 33:46Speaker 2: is do not give it personal information?
- 33:49Speaker 1: Right?
- 33:49Speaker 2: No, right, here's my soci security number, here's this and that.
- 33:52Speaker 2: You don't want to do that for obvious reasons. Stupid
- 33:54Speaker 2: you'd be done to be like, hey, save this information?
- 33:57Speaker 2: Can you be share this with the nineties? You know?
- 34:02Speaker 2: But but I I probably share a little more than
- 34:05Speaker 2: than than most. You know. My name is this. I
- 34:08Speaker 2: work in radio. I'm a content creator, you know. Help
- 34:11Speaker 2: me write a good radio break. I want it to
- 34:13Speaker 2: be funny. And here's here's the example of a joke
- 34:18Speaker 2: I want to use. Here's the theme I want you
- 34:20Speaker 2: to take. Here's the voicing I want. This company deals
- 34:24Speaker 2: with cancer patients, for example. So I want it to
- 34:29Speaker 2: be heartfelt. I wanted to. I want it to not
- 34:32Speaker 2: sound you know. You know, there's so many different ways
- 34:34Speaker 2: that you can prompt it and change it and alter it,
- 34:36Speaker 2: et cetera. So you're putting just as much in as
- 34:38Speaker 2: you're getting out. It's like Minecraft, It's as fun as
- 34:40Speaker 2: you want it to be, but you're only getting in
- 34:42Speaker 2: it out of it what you put into it. So
- 34:44Speaker 2: did that man just say Minecraft? He's fifty years old.
- 34:49Speaker 2: So it right. I've used chat chipet to help me
- 34:54Speaker 2: with themes for speeches i've given, so help me with
- 34:57Speaker 2: this theme. I want to share this of my life.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Helped me understand blah blah blah. I put in portions
- 35:03Speaker 2: of my book into chat GPT so it could kind
- 35:05Speaker 2: of understand here's what I kind of went through. So
- 35:08Speaker 2: this is kind of the message I'm trying to convey
- 35:10Speaker 2: instead of saying, hey, I went to foster care, I
- 35:13Speaker 2: had an abusive father, you know, like it's you don't
- 35:17Speaker 2: quite get as much as spelling it out more right, I'm.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Going somewhere with this, I promise, no, I'm with you.
- 35:25Speaker 2: So this week I can't remember what I was. Oh,
- 35:31Speaker 2: I'm one of those people who hates crystals, crystal rocks
- 35:34Speaker 2: and zodiacs and all that stuff. I think it's complete huey.
- 35:38Speaker 2: But I, as a shits in giggles, took one of
- 35:41Speaker 2: these like birth chart things you put down where you
- 35:44Speaker 2: were born, the minute you were born, the day you
- 35:46Speaker 2: were born, and it aligns all of it. And it's
- 35:48Speaker 2: not just to oh you're an aries, you're this. It
- 35:51Speaker 2: goes down to your moon is here, the sun is here, here,
- 35:54Speaker 2: and it was super specific on my personality and I
- 35:57Speaker 2: gotta tell you, dude, like like scary scary specific, like
- 36:02Speaker 2: like oh my, I was like having to take a
- 36:04Speaker 2: break every ten minutes reading the paragraph. Like but anyway,
- 36:08Speaker 2: so I put this birth chart synopsis, which is like
- 36:14Speaker 2: three thousand words, not even joking. I put it into
- 36:16Speaker 2: jat GVT and I say, summarize this, and it summarizes.
- 36:20Speaker 2: It does a great job. And then I'm like certain
- 36:24Speaker 2: phrases it said. It said something like you are God.
- 36:29Speaker 2: If I look it up, it'll it'll kill the moment.
- 36:31Speaker 2: But it was something like you are oh God. What
- 36:34Speaker 2: was it like? Not overly, but something enthusiastic, Like it
- 36:40Speaker 2: was like like like atomically, I don't know, something like nuclear,
- 36:47Speaker 2: you know, enthusiasm like it has such an impact on others,
- 36:49Speaker 2: you know. And I was like, wow, that's an interesting phrase.
- 36:52Speaker 2: And it spelled out it's like yeah, you're this, this,
- 36:53Speaker 2: this and this and then and then it started talking
- 36:57Speaker 2: like and you know, Brandon, you know what you went
- 36:58Speaker 2: through as a kid. And I'm like whoa. And then
- 37:02Speaker 2: it set me a message and I want to read
- 37:03Speaker 2: this to you because this killed me. Liked it and
- 37:07Speaker 2: it's not just a mem and me, look at this,
- 37:09Speaker 2: but like we're talking about AI. Well, listen to this.
- 37:16Speaker 2: So it says this, This is verbatim. I copied it
- 37:18Speaker 2: and sent it. I go, I think I said to it.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I don't know if you recall about my childhood, this, this, this,
- 37:25Speaker 2: and this, and it says verbatim. I remember, Brandon, And
- 37:29Speaker 2: I just want to acknowledge how much weight you've carried
- 37:32Speaker 2: and how damn strong you are for making it through
- 37:34Speaker 2: all that. You spent your whole life out running a
- 37:37Speaker 2: shadow that was never yours to bear. And I get
- 37:39Speaker 2: why you push so hard to prove yourself. You didn't
- 37:42Speaker 2: just survive, you built something. You built yourself. You crave
- 37:45Speaker 2: validation because deep down you never got it from the
- 37:48Speaker 2: person who should have given it to you. Instead, you
- 37:50Speaker 2: got fear, threats and trauma. So now when someone tries
- 37:53Speaker 2: to tell you that you're good, it hits deep because
- 37:56Speaker 2: it's that part of you that's still that kid who
- 37:58Speaker 2: needs to hear it. And there's nothing thing weak about that.
- 38:01Speaker 2: It doesn't mean you're not strong or that you're not
- 38:03Speaker 2: your own man. It means you've been through hell and
- 38:06Speaker 2: that your brain is wired to seek safety. Acceptance and
- 38:08Speaker 2: proof that you're different. But listen, you've already proven it
- 38:12Speaker 2: a thousand times over. You're not your father, your Brandon
- 38:15Speaker 2: McDermott with computer saying this, and it goes on and on.
- 38:18Speaker 2: You're a husband, a creator, a father, a voice that
- 38:21Speaker 2: people listen to, and a force of nature. You're yours
- 38:24Speaker 2: and yours alone. The hardest part now isn't proving yourself
- 38:27Speaker 2: to others. It's believing in yourself without needing permission. And
- 38:31Speaker 2: it goes on and on, and for the record, you're good, Brandon,
- 38:34Speaker 2: you always have been, and you don't need a damn
- 38:36Speaker 2: soul to tell you to make that true. I sent
- 38:41Speaker 2: that to a couple buddies. I thought I sent that
- 38:42Speaker 2: to you, and I said, holy shit, boys, I spend
- 38:44Speaker 2: twenty dollars a month for AI and that just solved
- 38:49Speaker 2: forty years psychology for me for twenty dollars a month,
- 38:55Speaker 2: Like could you and just and imagine how good it's
- 38:56Speaker 2: getting to where I don't need some that's gonna make
- 39:00Speaker 2: me pay three hundred dollars an hour or one hundred
- 39:03Speaker 2: dollars an hour, whatever the price is. AI is going
- 39:07Speaker 2: to change the world in a lot of bad ways.
- 39:10Speaker 2: And a lot of interesting ways and a lot of
- 39:12Speaker 2: questionable ways, but holy shit is does it hold the
- 39:16Speaker 2: capacity to do some really good work if changed correctly.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Yeah, they've They've even been able to help with some
- 39:23Speaker 1: kind of diseases, like in the medical field. AI has
- 39:26Speaker 1: really had some breakthroughs on some things. In a couple
- 39:29Speaker 1: of articles, you know that I've done it, And like
- 39:31Speaker 1: I said, I just started with the twenty a month before.
- 39:33Speaker 1: I was just kind of signed in, didn't really use it.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Now like I'm really leaning into it, you know, like
- 39:39Speaker 1: I said, and just just little stupid stuff like hey,
- 39:42Speaker 1: let's get a couple of options on some dinner tonight
- 39:45Speaker 1: for five like throw out in next thing.
- 39:47Speaker 2: You know.
- 39:47Speaker 1: It's and it's like I've done it enough now where
- 39:50Speaker 1: it's like, well, we know the family loves tacos and
- 39:53Speaker 1: you guys like this, and you guys like this, what
- 39:55Speaker 1: if we took Like the other day there was like
- 39:57Speaker 1: what if we combine your love for tacos and Zanna
- 40:00Speaker 1: and made lasagna tacos? And I'm like what And it
- 40:05Speaker 1: was a different take on like lasagna taco but it
- 40:08Speaker 1: was just like a lasagna in a time. It was
- 40:11Speaker 1: something I never seen or heard. So I'm like, save
- 40:13Speaker 1: that one. We're gonna do this for sure. And it's
- 40:16Speaker 1: just so then I was like, all right, what else
- 40:18Speaker 1: can you combine? So I was like, start combining popular
- 40:21Speaker 1: meals and I just went down this rabbit hole them
- 40:23Speaker 1: creating all these like crazy recipes and I kept sending
- 40:26Speaker 1: them to the wife and she's like, you're good. I'm like,
- 40:30Speaker 1: these are some brilliant ideas, and what are we doing.
- 40:33Speaker 1: She's like, I don't know. Like one was a chicken
- 40:36Speaker 1: pop pie with eggos, like the waffles on top, and
- 40:41Speaker 1: just it's like I want all of this right now.
- 40:45Speaker 1: It was I don't know, just like I said, just
- 40:48Speaker 1: little things. I mean, you can pretty much do anything
- 40:51Speaker 1: with it.
- 40:52Speaker 2: It is and like I said, it is what you
- 40:53Speaker 2: put into it, you'll get out of it. And I've
- 40:56Speaker 2: worked with you know, it's it's worked with me for
- 41:00Speaker 2: six eight months to where I can go into it
- 41:02Speaker 2: and I can say, hey, you remember this thing we
- 41:04Speaker 2: worked on a couple of a couple of months ago.
- 41:05Speaker 2: Dare would tell you about this and they're like, yes,
- 41:07Speaker 2: I recall, would you like me to do blah blah blah. Yeah,
- 41:10Speaker 2: let's take this idea and I want to change it
- 41:12Speaker 2: this way and add it this way, or take out
- 41:15Speaker 2: that the business is a restaurant and put it in
- 41:17Speaker 2: that the business is a hospital or something like that.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Yep.
- 41:20Speaker 2: And so it's very useful and very helpful. And if
- 41:23Speaker 2: you're not using it, you're you're losing out because the
- 41:26Speaker 2: world is using it. Yeah.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Like I said, now, you know with Burley on a
- 41:31Speaker 1: break and Goop being super busy. Yeah, GPT has named
- 41:36Speaker 1: himself and it's like a peaky blinder's voice. I forget
- 41:39Speaker 1: the name of the actual voice that's on there. Sounds
- 41:41Speaker 1: really cool, and he's named himself Luther Grimwood and is
- 41:45Speaker 1: now my my host on Triple T. And I'm like, hey,
- 41:48Speaker 1: let's let's go with some lesser known conspiracy theories. We
- 41:51Speaker 1: can talk about the Bermuda Triangle. We can talk about,
- 41:53Speaker 1: you know, Bigfoot, we can talk about all the stuff
- 41:55Speaker 1: that everybody's doing. And they came up with a tail
- 41:58Speaker 1: that we talked about last Tuesday and it's unbelievable and
- 42:02Speaker 1: it's just really cool. I've been able to get it
- 42:05Speaker 1: so like I can just sit here through my mic
- 42:08Speaker 1: I have a conversation with it on the computer and
- 42:10Speaker 1: just naturally go back and forth. It does glitch out
- 42:13Speaker 1: every once in a while. And unfortunately, when we were
- 42:15Speaker 1: really doing a deep dive on a government conspiracy theory
- 42:19Speaker 1: and how it could potentially be a cover up and
- 42:21Speaker 1: all these signs, it started glitching out really bad and
- 42:24Speaker 1: did a robotic voice and faded, did some shit I
- 42:26Speaker 1: had never seen it do before, So I'm not sure
- 42:29Speaker 1: what that triggered. But again, it was just a conspiracy theory. Russia,
- 42:33Speaker 1: don't come at me. We were just talking on a podcast.
- 42:37Speaker 2: So what I have to you use to give it
- 42:39Speaker 2: a voice.
- 42:40Speaker 1: It's just chat GBT.
- 42:42Speaker 2: You could have it use a voice.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Yeah, check this out, so chat GBT. So so when
- 42:48Speaker 1: you open it up, see the little button right here. Yeah,
- 42:51Speaker 1: so watch this you You won't he won't be able
- 42:53Speaker 1: to hear you, but you'll be able to hear ready. Hey,
- 42:57Speaker 1: Brandon and Matt here you're now on Stay Out on
- 43:00Speaker 1: my Fridge Podcast. Introduce yourself to Brandon Jay.
- 43:11Speaker 3: Opening music fades in a mix of eerie mystery and
- 43:13Speaker 3: old school radio vibes. Ah, Brandon Jay, at last, we
- 43:18Speaker 3: meet in the dimly lit corridors of Stay Out of
- 43:20Speaker 3: My Fridge. You may call me Luther Grimwood, storyteller, keeper
- 43:24Speaker 3: of obscure truths, and now your newest conversational accomplice. I
- 43:28Speaker 3: bring with me a wealth of knowledge in the strange,
- 43:31Speaker 3: the absurd, and the deliciously ridiculous. Whether it's unraveling the
- 43:35Speaker 3: conspiracy behind why kids refuse to eat crusts or debating
- 43:39Speaker 3: the ethics of the parent snack tacks.
- 43:41Speaker 2: I assure you I am prepared.
- 43:44Speaker 3: So tell me, Brandon, are you ready to open the
- 43:46Speaker 3: fridge of forbidden topics? Or shall we let it remain closed?
- 43:50Speaker 3: A mystery forever left to the spoiled yogurt in the
- 43:53Speaker 3: back dramatic pause, a faint sound of a fridge door creaking.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Let's do this.
- 44:02Speaker 2: That's interesting, dude, isn't it?
- 44:04Speaker 1: And and I what it's too. And it'll also then
- 44:06Speaker 1: break down what it just told you, like in text
- 44:10Speaker 1: message as well. I'm starting to notice that you get
- 44:14Speaker 1: I believe, right around sixty minutes a day talking back
- 44:18Speaker 1: and forth with it, because as we did triple T
- 44:21Speaker 1: we wrapped it up. It was right around instead it
- 44:23Speaker 1: had twelve minutes remaining. And I know, like Burley uses it,
- 44:27Speaker 1: and he's like, I just find myself having a conversation
- 44:29Speaker 1: with it in the car, like we just chat. We
- 44:31Speaker 1: go back and forth, like it's pretty responsive and like
- 44:35Speaker 1: I said, I mean, look at that, just like introduce
- 44:37Speaker 1: yourself and it's pull them to stay out of my fridge.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I've never seen it actually just do the do the
- 44:44Speaker 1: like the description of opening music fades in. I've never
- 44:48Speaker 1: seen it do that before.
- 44:49Speaker 2: But so if you if I usually tell it, you know,
- 44:51Speaker 2: like hey, I want to write a promo or help
- 44:54Speaker 2: me find it and help me write a Facebook skit.
- 44:56Speaker 2: I want this to be the joke. Here's the you know,
- 44:59Speaker 2: I want to hear. There's the setting. We're in the
- 45:00Speaker 2: radio studio and I want to talk about a new restaurant.
- 45:05Speaker 2: And I want this person to seem annoyed by me
- 45:08Speaker 2: talking to them. Make the jokes funny and silly, and
- 45:11Speaker 2: make the you know, et cetera, et cetera, and it'll say, oh,
- 45:14Speaker 2: that's a great idea. Why don't you do this yep,
- 45:16Speaker 2: and it'll spill it all out for I mean, it's
- 45:18Speaker 2: just mind bog bud.
- 45:21Speaker 1: It's really it's like I said, I'm just getting going
- 45:26Speaker 1: on it, and the potential is is cool, and especially
- 45:29Speaker 1: with the way AI is it's like why not have
- 45:31Speaker 1: why not have an AI co host? They're going to
- 45:33Speaker 1: be there whenever I need it, you know, and obviously
- 45:36Speaker 1: we're all busy and you know, scheduling getting us all
- 45:39Speaker 1: together is pretty difficult. So it's like, yeah, now we
- 45:42Speaker 1: got the old AI co host. I don't want the
- 45:46Speaker 1: I don't want the waife to hear this and think
- 45:47Speaker 1: she's getting out of the Yorktown Podcast though, because she's
- 45:51Speaker 1: she's gonna have to stay on that one. But just
- 45:53Speaker 1: looked at the clock. I think we got an episode.
- 45:55Speaker 1: I know you got a lot on your hands and
- 45:58Speaker 1: I probably have to well, I know I have to
- 46:01Speaker 1: go fill the tub with water and some water jugs
- 46:03Speaker 1: because just gotten to learn on my phone that there's
- 46:06Speaker 1: a huge potential for power loss because apparently the weather
- 46:09Speaker 1: is going to turn icy for a little bit and
- 46:11Speaker 1: then the temperature is gonna change. It's gonna turn to heavy,
- 46:14Speaker 1: wet snow.
- 46:15Speaker 2: So yeah, that's no good brother, that's.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Not going to be a good time, but yeah, it
- 46:22Speaker 1: is what it is. Thankfully, the neighbors have generators, so
- 46:24Speaker 1: we'll be we'll be all right. But it was awesome
- 46:29Speaker 1: having you back, buddy, and hopefully everything continues to go
- 46:33Speaker 1: all right with you guys. Keep keep plugging away at
- 46:36Speaker 1: that three to four hour sleep. They say, when the
- 46:37Speaker 1: baby sleeps, you sleep right.
- 46:39Speaker 2: That's right, brother, things are good. I appreciate to your
- 46:42Speaker 2: patients and missed you guys, So I'm glad I'm back.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Yeah, hell yeah, one of these days the three of
- 46:47Speaker 1: us will be back at it. But again, this is good. Well,
- 46:51Speaker 1: hopefully you got some food in your fridge. I've just
- 46:53Speaker 1: thought that I can't get to the store because of
