- 0:00Speaker 1: I want to show you, from the Word of God,
- 0:02Speaker 1: how to defeat the enemy in your life. And it's
- 0:05Speaker 1: actually very simple. Now, when I use the term secrets,
- 0:09Speaker 1: I'm using that synonymously with keys. These are biblical keys
- 0:13Speaker 1: to victory. Really, the Bible very plainly spells out how
- 0:17Speaker 1: we ought to defeat the enemy. God did not intend
- 0:20Speaker 1: for you to be defeated. God did not intend for
- 0:23Speaker 1: you to walk in bondage. You can be victorious. You
- 0:26Speaker 1: will be victorious despite how the enemy has lied to you.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Write that in the comment section, victory is mine. Let
- 0:33Speaker 1: that be your public declaration of faith. As I turned
- 0:36Speaker 1: now to One Peter chapter five, I'm going to read
- 0:39Speaker 1: verses eight and nine. Stay alert, watch out for your
- 0:43Speaker 1: great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring
- 0:46Speaker 1: lion looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him,
- 0:50Speaker 1: and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family
- 0:53Speaker 1: of believers all over the world is going through the
- 0:55Speaker 1: same kind of suffering you are. There is a spiritual realm.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Heaven is real, Hell is real, Demons exist, angels exist,
- 1:06Speaker 1: heavenly hosts exist. The supernatural realm is real. When the
- 1:12Speaker 1: Bible talks about demonic power, it's not just using that
- 1:15Speaker 1: term as an analogy for darkness. These are actual sentient
- 1:19Speaker 1: beings that exist in another dimension that hate the children
- 1:22Speaker 1: of God. The Bible gives us a warning to stay alert,
- 1:26Speaker 1: to be vigilant. Now keep in mind that vigilance is
- 1:30Speaker 1: not the same thing as paranoia. Far too many Christians
- 1:34Speaker 1: come to believe doctrines about the enemy that minimize the
- 1:38Speaker 1: power of the Holy Spirit and magnify the power of
- 1:41Speaker 1: the enemy. But that's not what we're going to do today. Again,
- 1:43Speaker 1: as I said, it's actually quite simple. So if you've
- 1:45Speaker 1: been frustrated, you feel like you're spinning your wheels, maybe
- 1:48Speaker 1: pressing up against a brick wall that you just can't move.
- 1:51Speaker 1: And maybe you're frustrated. Maybe you're tired of the cycles.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Maybe you're tired of going through this again and again
- 1:56Speaker 1: and again, and you're crying out saying, God, where are you?
- 1:58Speaker 2: God? What do I do?
- 2:00Speaker 1: Why the turmoil? Why the torment, why the chaos? Why
- 2:03Speaker 1: the confusion, Why the conflict? Why the constant tension? And
- 2:06Speaker 1: you sense that overbearing, weighty burden of spiritual attack, And
- 2:11Speaker 1: maybe for years you've been trying to be free, or
- 2:13Speaker 1: perhaps it's only been a few days. Either way, the
- 2:16Speaker 1: Word of God has the answer. Number one. Submit to God.
- 2:23Speaker 1: James Chapter four, verse seven says, submit yourselves therefore to God.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Now,
- 2:31Speaker 1: let God be true in every man a liar. If
- 2:33Speaker 1: the Word of God says it, I believe it, even
- 2:36Speaker 1: if others claim something different. So what does the Bible
- 2:40Speaker 1: say about those who resist the devil? Does the devil
- 2:43Speaker 1: fight them or does he flee? Well, what does the
- 2:46Speaker 1: word say he flees? Far too many Christians find some
- 2:49Speaker 1: form of pride in the fact that they're defeated by
- 2:51Speaker 1: the enemy, and they say things like, well, the devil
- 2:54Speaker 1: is just fighting me so hard because he knows how
- 2:56Speaker 1: much of a threat I am to the kingdom.
- 2:57Speaker 2: It's actually just the opposite.
- 2:58Speaker 1: According to scripture, when the devil recognizes the threat that
- 3:01Speaker 1: you become, he flees, he doesn't fight. Notice here that
- 3:05Speaker 1: the Bible says to resist the devil, that is, to
- 3:07Speaker 1: come against him. That means he's on the exterior, coming
- 3:11Speaker 1: against you. And as you begin to resist him, then
- 3:14Speaker 1: he recognizes that you know who you are in Christ.
- 3:17Speaker 1: He recognizes that you're walking in obedience. He recognizes that
- 3:20Speaker 1: you're becoming who God intended you to be, and therefore
- 3:23Speaker 1: he flees. Now does this mean that the devil never
- 3:25Speaker 1: attacks obedient Christians? By no means. Of course, he attacks
- 3:29Speaker 1: obedient Christians. I'm not talking about trials and tragedies and
- 3:33Speaker 1: the things on the exterior that take place around us. Remember,
- 3:37Speaker 1: the devil comes against us, not just our circumstances. I'm
- 3:41Speaker 1: talking about those who live under the deception of the
- 3:45Speaker 1: enemy in such a way where they are internally defeated.
- 3:48Speaker 1: They're walking in constant lowliness. They're walking in constant fear.
- 3:51Speaker 1: They're walking in constant confusion. They can't overcome a sinful habit,
- 3:55Speaker 1: and they're wondering how to be free. Here the Bible says,
- 3:58Speaker 1: what do you do? What do you do? You submit
- 4:01Speaker 1: yourselves therefore to God. As you surrender to the Holy Spirit,
- 4:06Speaker 1: you become one who can stand against the enemy. Surrender
- 4:10Speaker 1: to the Holy Spirit is to say no to your
- 4:12Speaker 1: will and yes to God's. Surrender to the Holy Spirit
- 4:16Speaker 1: is to say no to the desires of the flesh
- 4:18Speaker 1: and yes to the Holy Spirit's desires. Resist the devil
- 4:21Speaker 1: and he will flee. So the enemy does flee when
- 4:24Speaker 1: you resist him and again, let me emphasize this so
- 4:27Speaker 1: that there's no misunderstanding and that there's no confusion because
- 4:29Speaker 1: of that misunderstanding. I am not saying that the devil
- 4:32Speaker 1: doesn't attack Christians. He attempt He tempts them, he tries
- 4:35Speaker 1: to deceive them, he tries to torment them. Of course,
- 4:39Speaker 1: what I'm saying is that those attacks do not prevail
- 4:41Speaker 1: if you're submitted to God. Does this mean that will
- 4:44Speaker 1: never face tragedies or chaotic circumstances. No, Sometimes life happens.
- 4:49Speaker 1: But at the same time, we must never settle for
- 4:51Speaker 1: internal defeat. We must never settle for spiritual bondage. Submit
- 4:56Speaker 1: yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will
- 4:58Speaker 1: flee from you, or you can resist the devil. You
- 5:01Speaker 1: have to submit to God. You have to submit to
- 5:03Speaker 1: the voice of the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit speaks, obey,
- 5:07Speaker 1: when the Holy Spirit convicts you change, When the Holy
- 5:11Speaker 1: Spirit guides you follow. Listen for the voice of the
- 5:15Speaker 1: precious Holy Spirit in your life. Follow his leading and
- 5:18Speaker 1: he will guide you into freedom. How do we submit
- 5:20Speaker 1: to God? Well, it's the simple basic practices of the
- 5:23Speaker 1: Christian faith. Listen, I'm going to say something that maybe
- 5:28Speaker 1: your flesh might try to resist.
- 5:30Speaker 2: But I want you to hear this.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Ninety nine point ninety ninety nine percent of the Christians troubles,
- 5:36Speaker 1: and I'm not talking about trials.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Trials.
- 5:39Speaker 1: According to James, trials are opportunities for great joy because
- 5:42Speaker 1: they perfect our faith's that's the circumstances of life. I'm
- 5:45Speaker 1: talking specifically, not about trials. I'm talking about the attacks
- 5:48Speaker 1: of the enemy. And Christians get those confused for one another.
- 5:50Speaker 1: And so because they confuse trials for attacks of the enemy,
- 5:53Speaker 1: they think that the enemy is somehow gaining victory just
- 5:55Speaker 1: because things aren't going their way.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Those are two separate things.
- 5:59Speaker 1: But when when you begin to walk in obedience, ninety
- 6:04Speaker 1: nine point nine nine nine percent of your problems not
- 6:06Speaker 1: necessarily trials, doesn't mean all your troubles go away, all
- 6:09Speaker 1: your circumstances aligning the way you want them. I'm talking
- 6:11Speaker 1: about that internal victory. Ninety nine point nine nine percent
- 6:15Speaker 1: of those things that bring you spiritual defeat will be
- 6:17Speaker 1: broken if you just practice the spiritual basics. But we
- 6:21Speaker 1: don't want to be told that. We want to be
- 6:23Speaker 1: told that we can blame exterior forces for the choices
- 6:27Speaker 1: that we make in the flesh. You want to know
- 6:28Speaker 1: who your number one enemy is. Satan is an enemy, yes,
- 6:31Speaker 1: But do you know who your number one enemy is?
- 6:33Speaker 1: It's the flesh. I thought the Bible said we wrestle
- 6:36Speaker 1: not against flesh and blood. Well, there, the scripture is
- 6:38Speaker 1: talking about conflict with other human beings. It's not talking
- 6:40Speaker 1: about the sin nature. In fact, the Bible talks more
- 6:43Speaker 1: about the sin nature than it does demons. The Bible
- 6:45Speaker 1: talks more about overcoming that sin than it does overcoming
- 6:49Speaker 1: the enemy, or being alert and watching out for the enemy.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I'm not saying the enemy isn't an issue. I'm saying
- 6:53Speaker 1: the bigger problem is self, and self partners with Satan.
- 6:58Speaker 1: So many times the choices that we make cause us
- 7:01Speaker 1: to become more susceptible to the power of the enemy,
- 7:04Speaker 1: so that we live in a certain way that gives
- 7:06Speaker 1: the enemy the ability to deceive us, to tempt us,
- 7:09Speaker 1: to torment us.
- 7:11Speaker 2: All the while.
- 7:11Speaker 1: All we have to do is walk in simple obedience,
- 7:14Speaker 1: and as I said, it will solve ninety nine point
- 7:16Speaker 1: nine nine nine percent of your problems internally. Now, let's
- 7:19Speaker 1: say you went in for a physical check up for
- 7:23Speaker 1: your local doctor at your local doctor and you go
- 7:27Speaker 1: to the doctor and you say, listen, I'm not feeling well.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Something about my body just feels off.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I just feel low energy, constantly tired, always in pain.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Everything just seems to be malfunctioning in the body. The
- 7:43Speaker 1: doctor is going to begin to assess you and first
- 7:46Speaker 1: ask you some basic questions. The physician will ask, are
- 7:51Speaker 1: you drinking water, how are your sleep patterns, how's your diet?
- 7:57Speaker 1: Do you exercise? And the physician will ask about those
- 8:01Speaker 1: four different categories. Typically, because most of the issues that
- 8:05Speaker 1: you have can be solved early on if you simply
- 8:09Speaker 1: practice healthy habits in the same way, if you simply
- 8:14Speaker 1: give yourself over to daily prayer, if you simply make
- 8:17Speaker 1: it a habit to pray, if you simply make it
- 8:21Speaker 1: a habit to seek the Lord in the secret place, it's.
- 8:23Speaker 2: All part of prayer.
- 8:24Speaker 1: If you make it a habit to devote yourself to
- 8:28Speaker 1: the Word, to study the Scripture, to show yourself approved,
- 8:33Speaker 1: to worship God, to attend a local church, you practice
- 8:37Speaker 1: the basics of Christianity, pray, read the Word, fellowship, lift
- 8:42Speaker 1: holy worship God. You do those things, and as I said,
- 8:47Speaker 1: ninety nine point nine nine percent of those internal issues
- 8:50Speaker 1: where the enemy's tempting you, deceiving you, tormenting you, confusing you,
- 8:54Speaker 1: the goal away. I'm not saying all your issues, I'm
- 8:57Speaker 1: talking about spiritual attack. And again, when we confuse trials
- 9:02Speaker 1: in this world for spiritual attack, we're going to think
- 9:04Speaker 1: we're always under attack because trials abound in the life
- 9:07Speaker 1: of the believer. But that doesn't mean we have to
- 9:08Speaker 1: live in defeat, because we can be victorious even in
- 9:12Speaker 1: the trials. So these are the simple fixes we must apply.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Believers don't want to do that. Why because they don't
- 9:18Speaker 1: want to implement the disciplines of practicing the basics. They'd
- 9:21Speaker 1: rather have a preacher lay hands on them. You preacher,
- 9:23Speaker 1: lay hands on me, make all my problems go away,
- 9:27Speaker 1: and then I don't have to do anything. I don't
- 9:28Speaker 1: have to change anything. Well, even if the preacher lays
- 9:30Speaker 1: hands on you and there's some form of break tough
- 9:32Speaker 1: that takes place, if you don't practice the spiritual basics,
- 9:35Speaker 1: you're just going to find yourself in bondage.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Again. I very rarely have ever met a.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Christian who prayed daily, devoted themselves to the Word, and
- 9:46Speaker 1: lived in spiritual bondage. I've never met that kind of Christian.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I've never met a Christian who was spiritually spiritually defeated
- 9:53Speaker 1: and was a prayer warrior and was in the word.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Sure they went through troubling times, but inwardly they had peace,
- 9:59Speaker 1: they had joyed, they had love. They had this stability
- 10:01Speaker 1: about them that caused them to approach life with a
- 10:04Speaker 1: faith and a hope that caused them to be victorious
- 10:07Speaker 1: even in the midst of the struggle. No complications, no
- 10:12Speaker 1: rituals to perform. The only power the enemy has over
- 10:15Speaker 1: you is the power you give. It's the power you surrender.
- 10:19Speaker 1: The only power he has over you is the power
- 10:21Speaker 1: you believe he has. He's a liar. The devil is
- 10:26Speaker 1: a liar. And so you overcome the attacks of the enemy.
- 10:30Speaker 1: You defeat satanic power by number one, submitting to God,
- 10:34Speaker 1: and through that submission to God, you resist the devil.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Number two, you declare the Word, You speak the Word.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Go with me now to Matthew chapter four. I'm going
- 10:42Speaker 1: to read verses one through eleven. Then Jesus was led
- 10:46Speaker 1: by the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there
- 10:49Speaker 1: by the devil. For forty days and forty nights, he
- 10:52Speaker 1: fasted and became very hungry.
- 10:54Speaker 2: During that time.
- 10:55Speaker 1: The devil came and said to him, if you are
- 10:57Speaker 1: the son of God, please tell these stones to become
- 11:01Speaker 1: loaves of bread.
- 11:02Speaker 2: But Jesus told him no.
- 11:04Speaker 1: The scriptures say people do not live by bread alone,
- 11:06Speaker 1: but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Verse five.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Then the devil took him to the Holy City Jerusalem,
- 11:13Speaker 1: to the highest point of the temple, and said, if
- 11:16Speaker 1: you are the son of God, jump off, for the
- 11:18Speaker 1: scriptures say he will order his angels to protect you,
- 11:21Speaker 1: and they will hold you up with their hands, so
- 11:23Speaker 1: you won't even hurt your foot on a stone.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Verse seven.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Jesus responded, the scriptures also say you must not test
- 11:31Speaker 1: the Lord your God. Next, the devil took him to
- 11:33Speaker 1: the peak of a very high mountain and showed him
- 11:35Speaker 1: all the kingdoms of the world in their glory. I
- 11:37Speaker 1: will give it all to you, he said, if you
- 11:39Speaker 1: will kneel down and worship me Verse ten, get out
- 11:42Speaker 1: of your satan, Jesus told him, for the scriptures say
- 11:46Speaker 1: you must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Then the devil went away, and angels came and took
- 11:53Speaker 1: care of Jesus. Now, Jesus very clearly lays out for
- 11:59Speaker 1: us a road map if you will, to defeating the
- 12:02Speaker 1: power of the enemy. Now, what was the devil doing?
- 12:05Speaker 1: He was questioning the authority of the Lord. He was
- 12:09Speaker 1: questioning his identity. If you are the son of God,
- 12:12Speaker 1: if you are the son of God. Well, often temptations
- 12:15Speaker 1: begin with the questioning of your identity in Christ. When
- 12:17Speaker 1: you don't know who you are in Him, it's very
- 12:19Speaker 1: difficult to defeat the enemy. Now Satan was questioning, Satan
- 12:24Speaker 1: was contradicting. Satan was resisting, if you are the son
- 12:27Speaker 1: of God, if you are the son of God, almost
- 12:28Speaker 1: taunting him. Now, Jesus could have responded with his experience.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Think about it. Jesus could have pointed to his baptism
- 12:40Speaker 1: and said, what do you mean if I am the
- 12:42Speaker 1: son of God? Weren't you there at my baptism? The
- 12:46Speaker 1: Holy Spirit descended upon me like a dove. My father
- 12:50Speaker 1: spoke aloud a voice from heaven. This is my beloved son,
- 12:56Speaker 1: and whom I'm well pleased.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Didn't you hear the voice? Didn't you just the dove?
- 13:01Speaker 1: Couldn't you see heaven open? Jesus didn't do that. Jesus
- 13:05Speaker 1: did not point to his experience. In fact, Jesus is
- 13:08Speaker 1: the only one who, if he wanted to, could have
- 13:11Speaker 1: referenced his experience, but he didn't. What did he say?
- 13:15Speaker 1: It is written. Let me tell you something very plainly.
- 13:20Speaker 1: The devil and demons do not care about how much
- 13:26Speaker 1: you think you know about the spiritual realm. The devil
- 13:30Speaker 1: does not care how long you've been practicing spiritual warfare,
- 13:34Speaker 1: how long you've been practicing deliverance, how long you've been
- 13:37Speaker 1: casting out demons. The devil doesn't care about what you
- 13:40Speaker 1: know about demonology. The devil doesn't care about the doctrines
- 13:44Speaker 1: that you have. The devil doesn't care if you raise
- 13:47Speaker 1: your voice or shout, or consider yourself some spiritually elite,
- 13:51Speaker 1: well equipped individual who knows how to deal with demons.
- 13:54Speaker 1: He laughs at what we think gives us authority. The
- 13:58Speaker 1: devil doesn't care about any of that. Demons are not
- 14:01Speaker 1: intimidated by man's credentials. Demons are not intimidated by our
- 14:06Speaker 1: attempts at being intimidating.
- 14:09Speaker 2: What does he look at? One thing?
- 14:11Speaker 1: It is written using the scripture to contradict what the
- 14:15Speaker 1: enemy says, using the scripture to combat the lies. That's
- 14:20Speaker 1: what the enemy fears. Stop pointing to your experience, stop
- 14:25Speaker 1: pointing to what you think is your expertise, and instead
- 14:28Speaker 1: point to the word.
- 14:29Speaker 2: It is written.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Methods and experiences do nothing nothing. It's the word of God.
- 14:37Speaker 1: It's not in man's ability. It's in the power of
- 14:39Speaker 1: the Holy Ghost. So it's number two. Speak the word.
- 14:42Speaker 1: So number one submit to God. Number two speak the word.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Number three. Stand firm in truth and faith. Ephesians chapter six.
- 14:52Speaker 1: We're going to read verses ten through seventeen. Go there now,
- 14:54Speaker 1: please a final word. Be strong in the Lord and
- 14:58Speaker 1: in his mighty power. Put on all of God's armor,
- 15:01Speaker 1: so that you will be able to stand firm against
- 15:03Speaker 1: all strategies of the devil.
- 15:04Speaker 2: That's key.
- 15:05Speaker 1: We're going to come back to it in a moment
- 15:06Speaker 1: verse twelve. For we are not fighting against flesh and
- 15:09Speaker 1: blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the
- 15:12Speaker 1: unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and
- 15:15Speaker 1: against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on
- 15:19Speaker 1: every piece of God's armor so you will be able
- 15:22Speaker 1: to resist the enemy in the.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Time of evil.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Then after the battle, you will still be standing firm,
- 15:28Speaker 1: stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and
- 15:30Speaker 1: the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes. Put on
- 15:33Speaker 1: the piece that comes from the good news, so that
- 15:36Speaker 1: you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these,
- 15:39Speaker 1: hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery
- 15:41Speaker 1: arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet,
- 15:44Speaker 1: and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the
- 15:47Speaker 1: word of God. Now verse eleven, going back to it,
- 15:50Speaker 1: put on all of God's armor so that you will
- 15:53Speaker 1: be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
- 15:56Speaker 1: The word strategies here is methods. These are the methods
- 16:01Speaker 1: of the enemy. Now, notice that the Bible tells us
- 16:04Speaker 1: the Book of Ephesians here in chapter six it tells
- 16:07Speaker 1: us plainly that if you apply the armor of God,
- 16:12Speaker 1: that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies,
- 16:15Speaker 1: not some. You're gonna be able to stand firm against
- 16:18Speaker 1: all strategies of the devil. Now that's key right there,
- 16:22Speaker 1: because that means that if you wear the armor of God,
- 16:25Speaker 1: there's no strategy that the enemy can use against.
- 16:28Speaker 2: You that will work.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Here, the scripture is expressing an idea of wholeness, completeness.
- 16:34Speaker 1: This covers everything if you wear the armor of God. Now,
- 16:38Speaker 1: as we begin to break down the armor, we see
- 16:41Speaker 1: the various different pieces belts of truth, simple truth, body
- 16:46Speaker 1: armor of God's righteousness. The armor that's being talked about
- 16:49Speaker 1: here would be the kind that would require that the
- 16:53Speaker 1: body armor be held in place by the belt. So
- 16:56Speaker 1: truth causes you to stand in righteousness. You cannot stand
- 17:01Speaker 1: in righteousness if you're not grounded in truth. Jesus said,
- 17:04Speaker 1: you'll know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
- 17:06Speaker 1: So if you're still bound, then there's the truth you've
- 17:09Speaker 1: yet to discover. All spiritual defeat is rooted in spiritual deception.
- 17:14Speaker 1: If you are bound by the enemy, there's a lie
- 17:16Speaker 1: somewhere that you're believing. Stand your ground, putting on the
- 17:19Speaker 1: belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness.
- 17:21Speaker 1: That truth holds the body armor the righteousness in place
- 17:25Speaker 1: for shoes. Put on the peace that comes from the
- 17:27Speaker 1: good News, so that you will be fully prepared. So
- 17:29Speaker 1: for our shoes we put on the truth of the Gospel.
- 17:32Speaker 1: In addition to all these, hold up the shield of faith.
- 17:34Speaker 1: What is the shield of faith? It's your belief in
- 17:36Speaker 1: what God has said. When the enemy launches a fiery dart,
- 17:40Speaker 1: which is a lie. You hold up the shield of
- 17:43Speaker 1: faith and you resist that lie. So, by putting my
- 17:46Speaker 1: faith in what God has said, I extinguish the lie
- 17:49Speaker 1: of the enemy.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Think about that.
- 17:50Speaker 1: By putting my faith in what God has said, I
- 17:53Speaker 1: extinguish the lie of the enemy.
- 17:55Speaker 2: How do you hold up the shield of faith?
- 17:56Speaker 1: You believe or you choose to believe what the scripture
- 17:59Speaker 1: says in contradiction to the lie that the enemy tells.
- 18:02Speaker 2: You put on salvation as your helmet. Salvation.
- 18:07Speaker 1: This is the mindset or the thinking according to salvation,
- 18:10Speaker 1: the hope of salvation. It's mindset that, of course, has
- 18:14Speaker 1: to do with combating deception. And take the sword of
- 18:16Speaker 1: the spirit, which is the word of God. This is
- 18:20Speaker 1: the truth of the word of God. Notice here that
- 18:23Speaker 1: as the body armor of God is being detailed, that
- 18:28Speaker 1: we are being given all of the pieces that we
- 18:31Speaker 1: need for the purpose of fighting deception. Every piece of
- 18:35Speaker 1: the armor of God has something primarily to do with truth.
- 18:41Speaker 1: And therefore spiritual warfare is the fight to believe God's
- 18:45Speaker 1: truths over the enemy's lies. And so when the enemy
- 18:48Speaker 1: attacks you with the lie, you choose instead to stand
- 18:52Speaker 1: in faith. You choose instead to stand in truth. He
- 18:57Speaker 1: tells you God has rejected you. You say no, I
- 19:00Speaker 1: hold up my shield of faith, and I believe in
- 19:01Speaker 1: the promise. I'll never leave you nor forsake you. That's
- 19:05Speaker 1: what the Bible says. The enemy says you're not forgiven.
- 19:08Speaker 1: He's abandoned you. You say no. First John one nine.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I hold up that shield of faith, and I put
- 19:12Speaker 1: my faith in what the Scripture says. If we confess
- 19:14Speaker 1: our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
- 19:16Speaker 1: our sins, cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And so for
- 19:19Speaker 1: every lie that the enemy tells you, there's a truth
- 19:22Speaker 1: in the Word of God that contradicts that lie. But
- 19:24Speaker 1: how are you supposed to know that if you're not
- 19:25Speaker 1: in the Word. This is why I say it comes
- 19:27Speaker 1: back to the basics. If you're not taking in the Word,
- 19:31Speaker 1: what are you giving yourself to combat the lives? If
- 19:33Speaker 1: you're not in the Word daily, you've let down your
- 19:36Speaker 1: shield and your sword. You've dropped those pieces of armor.
- 19:40Speaker 1: How are you supposed to fight without a shield and
- 19:42Speaker 1: a sword. So number one, you submit to God. This
- 19:46Speaker 1: is to do the basics. Just live for God. Read
- 19:49Speaker 1: the Word, pray, worship, assemble with the believers, live a
- 19:54Speaker 1: clean life. You do these things, that's submission to God.
- 19:57Speaker 1: And that right there, you do just those basics. Ninety
- 20:00Speaker 1: nine point nine nine nine percent of all your internal
- 20:03Speaker 1: spiritual problems done, you can walk in peace and victory.
- 20:08Speaker 1: You can walk in the goodness of God. You can
- 20:11Speaker 1: walk in joy. You don't have to walk around with
- 20:13Speaker 1: that heaviness on you if you just submit to God.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Speak the word. This is to declare the truth.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Jesus did not combat Satan with his experience or his credentials.
- 20:23Speaker 1: He combatd him with the word it is written. And finally,
- 20:28Speaker 1: number three, stand in truth and faith. This is to
- 20:30Speaker 1: put on the armor of God and combat the lies
- 20:33Speaker 1: of the enemy. Now, I want to say something that
- 20:38Speaker 1: is loosely connected with this message, and you'll find that
- 20:41Speaker 1: it doesn't necessarily fit into the outline, but it is
- 20:44Speaker 1: something that I believe the Holy Spirit wanted me to
- 20:46Speaker 1: share with you. Fear is not of God. Fear is
- 20:55Speaker 1: based in deception. Fear is based in the lies of
- 21:01Speaker 1: the enemy. I truly believe that there's an assault on
- 21:05Speaker 1: the Church from the enemy with the spirit of fear.
- 21:09Speaker 1: And you know, the spirit of fear, because it manifests
- 21:12Speaker 1: as paranoia, it manifests as defensiveness, it manifests as the
- 21:18Speaker 1: inability to reason or be reasoned with fear. And in
- 21:23Speaker 1: this day and age, there are many things about which
- 21:25Speaker 1: we can be afraid if we so choose, if we
- 21:28Speaker 1: focus on them. Anything's going on in our world that
- 21:31Speaker 1: are caused for concern, systems, failing nation, going against nation, people, failing, confusion, turmoil, conflict,
- 21:43Speaker 1: you're worried about your future. Perhaps you're hearing all of
- 21:47Speaker 1: the different sayings and reports coming in on the news
- 21:50Speaker 1: and social media feeds, and it's very easy to get
- 21:53Speaker 1: swept up in the fear, so much so that we
- 21:56Speaker 1: begin to develop doctrines and theologies that are based in fear,
- 22:00Speaker 1: and we live in the constant tension of fear based theology.
- 22:06Speaker 1: The devil is a liar. God has not given us
- 22:11Speaker 1: a spirit of fear, but of power and love and
- 22:16Speaker 1: a sound mind. And perhaps the enemy is attacking you
- 22:20Speaker 1: in this area, causing compromise in your thinking, causing your
- 22:26Speaker 1: faith to waver. Recognize this for what it is. It's
- 22:30Speaker 1: an attack of the enemy, and you overcome that attack
- 22:34Speaker 1: by submitting to God declaring the word and wearing the
- 22:39Speaker 1: armor of God for battle. Father, in the name of Jesus,
- 22:44Speaker 1: I lift each one to you now who's receiving this,
- 22:48Speaker 1: And I ask you, precious Lord, to begin to strengthen
- 22:52Speaker 1: your people, touch their lives.
- 22:55Speaker 2: In a fresh way. Them encounter you, Anon. Let your
- 23:04Speaker 2: presence and power be sensed in the room with them.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Right now we are nourished in your presence. Od I
- 23:16Speaker 2: thank you for the light that is shining in the
- 23:17Speaker 2: dark place. I can sense it like heat on my hands.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Right now, the.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Power of God is flowing receive today. I thank you
- 23:25Speaker 1: Jesus that you're touching each one. Let your light shine
- 23:31Speaker 1: in dark places. Peace, joy overflowing the mighty name of Jesus.
- 23:38Speaker 2: We pray. Say it because you believe it, Type it
- 23:42Speaker 2: because you believe it. A men
