- 0:09Speaker 1: Yell no, no, no, no, alone no. Welcome to the
- 0:15Speaker 1: Naughty but Night Show. I'm your host, Rob Shooter. It's
- 0:18Speaker 1: Thanksgiving today. I have a lot to be thankful for,
- 0:22Speaker 1: especially you guys. Thank you so much for listening to
- 0:25Speaker 1: our show. I think yesterday we made it back into
- 0:28Speaker 1: the top ten, so thank you. Thank you for that.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Normally every Thursday, idea friend Mark Lupo joins us he's
- 0:34Speaker 1: listening today. He's back home with his family in Florida.
- 0:38Speaker 1: So love to your mommy, Darius, and your brother Jonathan.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I don't know Mark's dad's name, but love to him
- 0:45Speaker 1: to Mark, have a brilliant, brilliant day. Talking about brilliant days.
- 0:50Speaker 1: A couple of nights ago, I met up with Captain Bree,
- 0:53Speaker 1: a longtime listener to The Naughty but Nice Show. Even
- 0:56Speaker 1: before this podcast even existed, I was on a radio show.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I was the weekly host. I didn't do it every day,
- 1:04Speaker 1: I did it one day a week. I can't remember
- 1:06Speaker 1: what date was. I think it was Thursday's with Taylor Streger.
- 1:11Speaker 1: And that's where I met so many of you noughty's,
- 1:15Speaker 1: including Captain Brie with her lovely son Miles, and also
- 1:20Speaker 1: her very dashing partner Trey. So we went for drinks
- 1:23Speaker 1: at Bottin as Miss d joined us and we had
- 1:26Speaker 1: a brilliant, brilliant night. So lots and lots and lots
- 1:30Speaker 1: of great stuff to be thankful for today. Let's jump
- 1:33Speaker 1: into as show. We're thankful for a little gossip too.
- 1:36Speaker 1: What time is it? My Friend's and as tea time
- 1:40Speaker 1: big story at the top of the show, there are
- 1:42Speaker 1: attentions within the palace. This time it does not involve Harry. Rather,
- 1:47Speaker 1: it's between King Charles and Prince William. So they are
- 1:51Speaker 1: having trouble. Tensions are mounting amid succession power struggles. Let
- 1:59Speaker 1: me explain the relationship between King Charles the Third and
- 2:04Speaker 1: Prince William has shifted dramatically as conversations surrounding the royal
- 2:10Speaker 1: succession have gained momentum. So insiders claim that the father
- 2:16Speaker 1: son dynamic has been strained due to the monarch's determination
- 2:22Speaker 1: to solid defy his legacy while William prepares to take
- 2:28Speaker 1: over the throne, and so say quotes, the dynamic has shifted.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Charles wants to beat the monarch for decades, but he
- 2:38Speaker 1: is battling cancer. He is seventy six and now the institution.
- 2:44Speaker 1: The machinery of the palace is starting to look towards William.
- 2:50Speaker 1: If you think about it, it's a really cruel system.
- 2:53Speaker 1: It might be the worst way to get a job
- 2:56Speaker 1: in the world. Your paarent has to die, the king,
- 2:59Speaker 1: the queen has to die for you to get that job.
- 3:03Speaker 1: So you've wanted that job. Think about a job you've
- 3:05Speaker 1: won in your whole life. You've worked towards it. You
- 3:07Speaker 1: really really want this job, but you can't get it
- 3:10Speaker 1: on your talent. You can't get promoted because you work
- 3:13Speaker 1: super hard. No, you've gotta wait for the death of
- 3:17Speaker 1: your mom or your dad and then you'll get the job.
- 3:20Speaker 1: So the system, the whole system, it's mixed up, isn't it.
- 3:23Speaker 1: It's the weirdest thing. Even Survivor on television. Isn't this cruel.
- 3:27Speaker 1: It's a really cruel cruel. If this was a game show,
- 3:30Speaker 1: it wouldn't be allowed on TV. We couldn't do this.
- 3:32Speaker 1: It's like squid Game. Remember that show on Netflix where
- 3:35Speaker 1: people had to die for order you for you to
- 3:38Speaker 1: progress to the next level. Well, that's what it's like
- 3:40Speaker 1: being the king or the Queen of England. Charles had
- 3:43Speaker 1: to wait for his mommy, Queen Elizabeth to die. She
- 3:47Speaker 1: had to die for him to get the job, and
- 3:50Speaker 1: now William has to wait for his dad to die.
- 3:53Speaker 1: But this cancer diagnosis has really shaken the palace. William
- 3:58Speaker 1: is only forty two, so he's prepared for his eventual
- 4:01Speaker 1: accession to the throne, and he knows it's going to happen.
- 4:04Speaker 1: It's just when he's reportedly already engaging in discussions about
- 4:09Speaker 1: things he wants to change, transitions and even funeral plans
- 4:14Speaker 1: for his father now. Sources say obviously this topic is
- 4:18Speaker 1: very sensitive, adding that while both men share commitment to
- 4:24Speaker 1: their roles, there is occasionally tension. Plans for William's reign
- 4:30Speaker 1: for a first fast trek following the cancer diagnosis in February.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Royal staff began drawing up succession plans shortly after Charles's
- 4:41Speaker 1: coronation in twenty twenty three to ensure a smooth tradition.
- 4:48Speaker 1: So once again here this is not being cruel. This
- 4:51Speaker 1: has not being mean, or at least I hope it's not.
- 4:54Speaker 1: This is about a smooth transition. We're going to have
- 4:57Speaker 1: a big transition of power here in America in a
- 5:00Speaker 1: few weeks, and behind the scenes lots of planning has
- 5:03Speaker 1: gone into that, and that's the same that happens with
- 5:07Speaker 1: the royal family. There's not as many transitions. Unlike America,
- 5:11Speaker 1: we don't transition power every four years. The Royal family
- 5:15Speaker 1: that are there for life. Some people don't agree with that,
- 5:18Speaker 1: but that's what it is at the moment. And so
- 5:20Speaker 1: we're waiting now for Charles to pass, for William to
- 5:24Speaker 1: be king. Question. Could Charles resign? Yes, but it's never
- 5:29Speaker 1: really happened. I can only think of one instance when
- 5:33Speaker 1: a king resigned, and that was Edward and Wallace. To
- 5:38Speaker 1: remember that story, the American heiress who married the king
- 5:41Speaker 1: and he resigned before his coronation. Well, Charles could step aside,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I think too. Another good example of this is the pope.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I think there's been one or two popes that resigned.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Most of them die, most of them die as pope,
- 5:55Speaker 1: and then they go into conclave that's the fancy term
- 5:58Speaker 1: for the election all the bishops and they decide the
- 6:01Speaker 1: next pope. Well, in the royal family, we don't have
- 6:04Speaker 1: a conclave, we don't have a vote. It is the
- 6:07Speaker 1: next child that used to be the next boy, now
- 6:10Speaker 1: it's the next child who will become king or queen,
- 6:14Speaker 1: and that is William, which brings us to our pole
- 6:18Speaker 1: question of the day. There's tension in the palace between
- 6:21Speaker 1: Charles and William, ad mid succession, power struggles. There's some
- 6:26Speaker 1: struggles there. Charles doesn't want to do any of this.
- 6:29Speaker 1: He's the king. He doesn't want to be looking over
- 6:31Speaker 1: his shoulder. This is my reign. I've waited over seventy
- 6:35Speaker 1: years to get this job. Back off William, let me
- 6:37Speaker 1: be the king. How William's constant presence in the background.
- 6:43Speaker 1: He's a nice guy, William as he's not been too poich,
- 6:44Speaker 1: you hear. It's certainly causing some tension and our pole
- 6:48Speaker 1: question quite simple. Should Charles retire? Should he step down?
- 6:53Speaker 1: Would you retire and give the job to your son?
- 6:56Speaker 1: All the polls say that William is much more popular,
- 7:00Speaker 1: So I think the public would really like King William.
- 7:03Speaker 1: He's super popular. Kate is super popular. She's the most
- 7:07Speaker 1: popular royal of all of them, and their children I
- 7:09Speaker 1: just be loved. So this would be the perfect looking
- 7:13Speaker 1: royal family and often looks image are very important, and
- 7:17Speaker 1: so should Charles retire? Hey? Go vote on our Twitter
- 7:21Speaker 1: page at Naughty nine Rob or our Facebook page, which
- 7:23Speaker 1: is naughdy gossip. Andy. Sure to check back to my
- 7:26Speaker 1: row to hear your results. Okay, moving along, this story's wild.
- 7:30Speaker 1: So Taylor Swift has been ranked number two on Billboard's
- 7:34Speaker 1: Greatest Pop Stars of the twenty first Century, leaving her
- 7:38Speaker 1: fans stand not excited. Number two for Taylor is not
- 7:42Speaker 1: good enough. They wanted her to be number one. Let
- 7:45Speaker 1: me explain them. So. Taylor Swift has been named the
- 7:48Speaker 1: second greatest pop Star of the twenty first century by Billboard,
- 7:54Speaker 1: a ranking that has left her fans had devoted fans
- 7:58Speaker 1: the Swifties both pray and sort of angry and surprised.
- 8:02Speaker 1: While many assumed the global phenomenon would clinch the top spot,
- 8:09Speaker 1: Taylor came in at number two, ahead of Riana number three.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Drake is number four, Lady Gaga is number five, Britney
- 8:19Speaker 1: Spears is number six. Now, the ranking, Billboard points out
- 8:23Speaker 1: is based on cultural impact and defining pop stardom over
- 8:28Speaker 1: the past twenty five years. So in the past twenty
- 8:31Speaker 1: five years, who has been the biggest pop stars? Billboard
- 8:34Speaker 1: journalist Hannah Daily praised Taylor Swift for her ability to
- 8:38Speaker 1: quote bend culture at her will. What she's saying, there
- 8:42Speaker 1: is that Taylor defines the moment. She's not chasing somebody
- 8:48Speaker 1: else's fashion, music, look sensibility. She's creating her own. Other
- 8:53Speaker 1: people on the list Kanye West, just In Bieber, Ariana
- 8:56Speaker 1: Grande or powerhouses, but we don't. Oh yeah, who is
- 9:00Speaker 1: number one? There's lots of speculation. If Taylor Swift is
- 9:03Speaker 1: number two, who is the most important pop star of
- 9:07Speaker 1: the twenty first century. Who's the greatest pop star of
- 9:12Speaker 1: the last twenty five years? Everybody's bet in, including me,
- 9:16Speaker 1: the Beyonce will be the number one? Pick? What do
- 9:19Speaker 1: you think? Who should be number one? Moving along, A
- 9:23Speaker 1: and E is now suing Wendy Williams guardian over a
- 9:27Speaker 1: dispute about the documentary, saying we have the right to
- 9:30Speaker 1: tell her story. So A and E Networks that at
- 9:34Speaker 1: the very controversial documentary Where Is Wendy Williams has filed
- 9:39Speaker 1: a lawsuit against Wendy Williams guardian nurse Sabrina Morrissey, accusing
- 9:45Speaker 1: her of overstepping her authority by attempting to censor their documentary.
- 9:51Speaker 1: The cable channel claims that Sabrina the conservator is blocking
- 9:57Speaker 1: one of the last opportunity unities for the talk show
- 10:02Speaker 1: host to connect with her fans. So the documentary aired
- 10:06Speaker 1: already in February, so I don't quite understand what the
- 10:08Speaker 1: big fuzz is here. It's aired, We've seen it. It aired,
- 10:11Speaker 1: and when it aired, it was a bombshell. It made
- 10:14Speaker 1: me feel really dirty afterwards. I didn't like watching it.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I know Wendy, I'm quite friendly with Wendy. In fact,
- 10:20Speaker 1: the last time I saw Wendy, she didn't recognize me.
- 10:22Speaker 1: She was completely gone. She didn't know who I was.
- 10:25Speaker 1: It was deeply, deeply upsetting. But they are alleging that
- 10:30Speaker 1: Wendy was mentally incapacitated when she signed the agreement. So
- 10:36Speaker 1: her conservator is saying that no, no, no, she shouldn't
- 10:39Speaker 1: have made this documentary because she was incapacitated. Now a
- 10:42Speaker 1: Andy are saying she signed a release. She did sign it,
- 10:46Speaker 1: and they counter that this is a valid talent agreement
- 10:51Speaker 1: and that this happened long before the conservators ship even began,
- 10:55Speaker 1: so they had Wendy signing this release. What happened the
- 10:57Speaker 1: is years ago Wendy May a documentary four A and
- 11:02Speaker 1: E and they I think had a three part deal
- 11:04Speaker 1: and this was the third part. It was the part oward,
- 11:07Speaker 1: So it wasn't like she signed this while she was
- 11:10Speaker 1: really really struggling. This was an old deal and she
- 11:13Speaker 1: wanted to deliver the final episode, the final chapter. In
- 11:17Speaker 1: this so A and E also alleges that the conservator
- 11:20Speaker 1: actions are an attempt to deflect from their own failures
- 11:25Speaker 1: to protect Wendy Williams. Now, I think they've got a
- 11:28Speaker 1: good point there. Who's looking after her? Who allowed this
- 11:32Speaker 1: to happen while she was filming it? And it took
- 11:35Speaker 1: weeks and months to film this documentary. Where was the conservator?
- 11:39Speaker 1: She was taking the money, but she wasn't there. Shouldn't
- 11:42Speaker 1: she have been there? When I was a publicist, it
- 11:44Speaker 1: was the simplest part of the job. Every time my celebrities,
- 11:47Speaker 1: my stars, my clients, did interviews, I turned up this
- 11:51Speaker 1: conservator wasn't there. So now it's rich for them to
- 11:56Speaker 1: try and get this documentary band wherein in fact they
- 11:59Speaker 1: do have a legally bound, in valid agreement. Now people
- 12:03Speaker 1: are saying, maybe she shouldn't have signed it, she was
- 12:06Speaker 1: not in the right state of mind. The network is
- 12:08Speaker 1: standing by its right to tell Wendy Williams's story, insinuating
- 12:13Speaker 1: that the lawsuit from the Conservator infringes on their contractual
- 12:19Speaker 1: and creative rights. A couple of things here. She did
- 12:22Speaker 1: sign it. She's allowed Wendy Williams to do this before
- 12:27Speaker 1: the Conservatur took over. If the Conservator wanted to stop it,
- 12:31Speaker 1: they should have stopped it in the beginning. Don't wait
- 12:34Speaker 1: for something to air and then say, hang on a minute,
- 12:38Speaker 1: we don't like this. And so I think A and
- 12:40Speaker 1: A here leally are probably on some very solid ground. Morally,
- 12:45Speaker 1: I don't know that's more difficult. I'm not sure they
- 12:48Speaker 1: should have aired it. They knew what was going on.
- 12:50Speaker 1: They knew, I know, people who worked on this documentary.
- 12:53Speaker 1: They knew Wendy was struggling. They knew Wendy wasn't making
- 12:56Speaker 1: good decisions. They saw it. They literally documented her melt
- 13:00Speaker 1: and we all saw it. Anyone that watched that documentary
- 13:03Speaker 1: saw her struggle, saw her difficulties, and nobody, not one
- 13:07Speaker 1: person on the production side, on the network side, said
- 13:10Speaker 1: hang on a minute, guys, we got to stop. This
- 13:13Speaker 1: is just not right. It's going to make us a
- 13:15Speaker 1: lot of money, and it's going to get a lot
- 13:17Speaker 1: of viewers and a lot of publicity. But Is it
- 13:20Speaker 1: actually right to do this? It's a big question too
- 13:22Speaker 1: on a lot of reality shows, the Real Housewives going
- 13:25Speaker 1: through a legal process right now, but maybe more concerning
- 13:29Speaker 1: as a moral question. Two, is it right to wind
- 13:33Speaker 1: these people up? Often many of them have mental health struggles,
- 13:37Speaker 1: licker them up and then wind them up and then
- 13:40Speaker 1: film them explode, explode, They literally explode on these shows.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Is that right? I think that's a much bigger question.
- 13:48Speaker 1: This one surprised me. So Universal is responding to allegations
- 13:53Speaker 1: that Ariana Grande made a lot more money than Cynthia
- 13:56Speaker 1: Rivu in the new fabulous movie Wicked. So Universal has
- 14:01Speaker 1: addressed swirling rumors are a massive pay discrepancy between the
- 14:06Speaker 1: Wicked co stars, dismissing claims that are quote completely false.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Now reports suggested that Arianna received fifteen million, one five
- 14:17Speaker 1: for her role as Glinda, while Cynthia a Revo allegedly
- 14:21Speaker 1: was paid just one million for her role of Alphaba.
- 14:25Speaker 1: A Universal spokesperson clarified quote reports of pay disparity between
- 14:33Speaker 1: Cynthia and Arianna are completely false and based on Internet voda.
- 14:40Speaker 1: In fact, the women received equal pay for their work
- 14:44Speaker 1: on Wicked, so I'm told they did get the same amount.
- 14:47Speaker 1: It's a lot less than fifteen million, but it's a
- 14:49Speaker 1: lot more than one million. They got a good fee. Now,
- 14:53Speaker 1: the reason Ariana got the same fee is Ariana might
- 14:55Speaker 1: be a global superstar here, but she's not an actress,
- 14:58Speaker 1: or at least he's not known to be an act
- 15:00Speaker 1: So the studio actually took a bit of a risk
- 15:02Speaker 1: on Ariana Grande. She really wanted this part. She auditioned
- 15:05Speaker 1: for it like five or six times. You don't audition
- 15:08Speaker 1: five or six times and then after you get it
- 15:10Speaker 1: demand a massive salary. I think Arianna would have done this.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I don't want to say for nothing. That's a cliche,
- 15:16Speaker 1: but she would have done this regardless of the pay.
- 15:19Speaker 1: She doesn't need the money. She's got hundreds of millions.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Cynthia needs the money, maybe not. She makes a good
- 15:25Speaker 1: living too. We would love her wages, her salary. But nevertheless,
- 15:30Speaker 1: she doesn't live like Ariana Grande. She does very very well,
- 15:33Speaker 1: but she does not live like Ariana Grande's. They both
- 15:36Speaker 1: got the same amount. Let's be honest here, Hollywood is
- 15:38Speaker 1: a business. Movies are a business. If I don't have
- 15:41Speaker 1: to pay you more, if you really, really really want
- 15:43Speaker 1: this part with Arianna certainly didn't. Then why would I
- 15:46Speaker 1: give you all this money? It just doesn't make any sense.
- 15:49Speaker 1: They both got the same and it was a lot
- 15:51Speaker 1: less than fifteen million. Okay, we're going to take a
- 15:55Speaker 1: quick break and we will be right back. Welcome back
- 15:59Speaker 1: to the Naughty nine. Roush you the hey, let's get
- 16:02Speaker 1: to the polls. Are you ready that the dull? You
- 16:07Speaker 1: sound thevelous? The last show revealed Kate Middleton and Williams
- 16:13Speaker 1: plans to join the royal family this Christmas. They're all
- 16:16Speaker 1: gonna be together at the Sangrington estate. They're not going
- 16:20Speaker 1: up to Bellmarle this year in Scotland. They're going to Sandrington,
- 16:23Speaker 1: which is a beautiful estate about two hours out outside
- 16:26Speaker 1: of of London. A question was pretty simple, would you
- 16:29Speaker 1: like to join them? Would you like to be if
- 16:30Speaker 1: the Royals this Christmas? What do you think? It sounds
- 16:33Speaker 1: pretty fabulous, doesn't it? Would you like to I'd like
- 16:35Speaker 1: to be with them on Thanksgiving, that Christmas, at Easter
- 16:38Speaker 1: a passerver, I'd like to do all of the all
- 16:41Speaker 1: of the above. Let's have a look. Eighty five percent
- 16:44Speaker 1: he said, yes, you would love to be there? I agree,
- 16:47Speaker 1: don't forget to vote on today's poll, go out to
- 16:49Speaker 1: the Patriot Naughty Nights rob or our Facebook patriots is
- 16:52Speaker 1: no only yours in and be sure to check back
- 16:54Speaker 1: to marrow to hear your results. And now it's time
- 16:57Speaker 1: for our nicest of the day. Oh Ariana Grande refused
- 17:03Speaker 1: to sing a hip hop version in Wicked of the
- 17:05Speaker 1: popular song Popular, saying absolutely not so. The Grammy winner
- 17:12Speaker 1: wasn't looking to change the beloved song Popular from Wicked,
- 17:16Speaker 1: despite being pitched a different new version of the tune.
- 17:20Speaker 1: What happened to here is Stephen Schwartz, the brilliant the
- 17:22Speaker 1: film the musical's brilliant composer and lyricist. He said in
- 17:26Speaker 1: an interview that, in the spirit of being open to
- 17:28Speaker 1: new things for the movie, my music team and I thought,
- 17:32Speaker 1: let's refresh the rhythm. Let's maybe, I don't know, hip
- 17:36Speaker 1: hop it up a little bit. So were going to
- 17:38Speaker 1: change the rhythm of this song, make it more contemporary,
- 17:42Speaker 1: make it. They wanted a hit record, They wanted a
- 17:44Speaker 1: record on the radio, and so Arianna Grande certainly knows
- 17:48Speaker 1: how to do that, but she wasn't gonna get it.
- 17:50Speaker 1: They didn't think with Popular as the stage version, but
- 17:53Speaker 1: Arianna said no, she said absolutely not, don't do it.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I want to be Glinda Riana Grande playing Glinda. Hey,
- 18:03Speaker 1: good for you. And the last time I looked, just
- 18:05Speaker 1: a few minutes ago, it is on the charts. It's
- 18:07Speaker 1: number fourteen. And so stick to what is right. Don't
- 18:12Speaker 1: be changing things up. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
- 18:16Speaker 1: And nice is of the day, and I notice the
- 18:18Speaker 1: day naughty. We now know why brother has dumped everybody
- 18:23Speaker 1: on vander Pump Rules and they're starting over after twelve seasons.
- 18:28Speaker 1: So sources reveal the drastic decision was completely creative, not financial.
- 18:34Speaker 1: So they're leaving behind a lot of their stars, Tom
- 18:37Speaker 1: scandalval Adriana, Ash's gone, Katie. They'll all be fired. They're
- 18:41Speaker 1: devastated about it. But insiders told people that the show
- 18:45Speaker 1: had no path forward with the original cast due to
- 18:49Speaker 1: the ongo intentions. They said, quote, everyone is still stuck
- 18:53Speaker 1: in their feelings after the reunion, there was no bending,
- 18:56Speaker 1: no moving forward. It got so nasty. I hate this,
- 18:59Speaker 1: don't you. These shows that started off so much fun,
- 19:01Speaker 1: so much silliness, so much so much joy gets so
- 19:06Speaker 1: dark and nasty. We've seen it on Housewives we saw
- 19:08Speaker 1: it on vander Pump and now these cast members, they're
- 19:12Speaker 1: gonna regret this because we're gonna forget them in six months.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Remember when Stassy Schroeder got fired from vander Pump Brules
- 19:19Speaker 1: because of her racist comments. She at the time thought
- 19:22Speaker 1: she would go on to do bigger, better stuff. She hasn't.
- 19:25Speaker 1: We don't remember her anymore. The same with the housewives.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Once they're not on the show, the moment passes, So
- 19:31Speaker 1: make as much money as you can. Now, if you're
