  Night at City Field changed my life. So for those who don't know,

  me and hot dogs have not gotten along since I was six years old.

  And the reason why I haven't been talking to you much on this podcast or

  booking guests is because a very life changing kind of moment happened this weekend when

  not to gro sea out here at the lunchtime hour, but I was over
• 0:37
  the toilet so to speak, you know, throwing up quite a few times,
• 0:45
  thanks to Dollar Hot Dog Night and thanks to my very very delicate esophagus
• 0:50
  which normally doesn't like the hot dog, and also the impossible food poisoning from
• 0:55
  garlic guy. Like, why am I talking about this? Because I just
• 0:59
  think all the times that we've gone to City Field and all the promotions,
• 1:06
  the one I'm most excited for Dollar hot Dog Night because in honor of my
• 1:10
  father, he loved the hot dogs, in honor of the Cubs met series,
• 1:15
  I was so excited to just have one one hot dog and it kind
• 1:22
  of changed my trajectory for my appetite for hot dogs, if we will.
• 1:30
  Knowing that that was precipitating a bigger reaction later in the week. So if
• 1:34
  I've not been on the show the last few days, that's why I've been
• 1:38
  recovering things to my fiance Gabby and my future father in law Guy, and
• 1:42
  my mom and stepdad Vic, all partnering up to once again comebat another health
• 1:49
  thing. And I'll be back behind the boards at some point this week at
• 1:53
  work for sure in my radio world. But yeah, dollar hot Dog Night.

  Sorry to gross you out, but if you have an esavageal issue,

  highly recommend not trying for that hot dog. Maybe you don't know, right,

  Maybe I'm the only one with a esopageala Tricia that tries and eats a
• 2:10
  hot dog, even just one, and has a problem. Of course,
• 2:15
  I thought I chewed it once again, it just probably wasn't chewed well enough.

  And I just wanted to say this moment also slowed me down with everything.

  It's kind of once again put in perspective how health needs to come first,
• 2:35
  and how running around doing all these different things is always fun. But
• 2:38
  sometimes it just smacks you right in the face that you need to slow down
• 2:43
  a minute. You need to put your health first, put yourself first.
• 2:47
  And that's what I'm trying to do. But I want to think the Mets
• 2:51
  for Dollar hot Dog Night, because that night change everything. It was pretty
• 2:54
  cool to see cowboll Man and the pin Man on the same line getting their
• 2:59
  dollar hot dogs. I mean, I felt Dollar hot Dog Night wouldn't have
• 3:01
  been complete without seeing those two getting their dollar hot dogs. Forty four thousand
• 3:07
  hot dogs were sold last week, by the way, on that Tuesday night.
• 3:13
  And I also loved that party. That Met game, which ended up
• 3:15
  a win, was also a watch party for the Knicks in the Hudson Whiskey
• 3:20
  Lounge in the upper deck. I mean, everybody was routing on rallying on
• 3:25
  the Knicks in that game five, which of course they'd lose in double overtime.
• 3:30
  But for me, it took away a different thing. A couple of
• 3:34
  days later, and maybe at age thirty two and a half, you know,
• 3:40
  the age keeps creeping up here I talk about this, maybe it's a
• 3:45
  smack in my face that I needed to remind. And it's also ironic because
• 3:52
  the day I tried to eat healthy, it is also the day I ate
• 3:55
  something that was totally foreign to my stomach. I guess because I got really
• 4:00
  sick during the Derby, and I ended up still watching the Kentucky Derby at
• 4:06
  the Houston Hall, even with my stomach gurgling and rattling around and you know,
• 4:13
  not feeling one hundred percent and then of course the nause are kicking in.

  We rooted on well. I was hoping for Johnny V and Todd Pletcher
• 4:20
  in fierceness, but Mystic Dan by half a nose winning it, and uh,
• 4:30
  it was quite an atmosphere at Houston Hall. I highly commend you going
• 4:32
  there for the Preakness, and since the Belmonts and Saratoga, many of you
• 4:39
  might make the trip up to Saratoga, but maybe, just maybe you can
• 4:44
  watch it with us at Houston Hall. Maybe that's where will be Belmont Stakes
• 4:47
  Day this year, watching it Houston Hall, especially if there's a triple craft
• 4:53
  possibility with Mystic Dan. But I to you on April on May seventh,

  twenty twenty four, after not being talked with you for a little while,

  want to like stay dormant for too long, so I wanted to crack open

  the mic here and tell you what's been going on. Doctors are actually pretty

  positive about it this time. Sometimes if there's a hot dog stuck, you

  know, I rush into the er or and then into the end of scopy

  room and they have to plug to take it out of me. I mean,
• 5:30
  it's kind of a surgical procedure that goes on. Luckily, it doesn't
• 5:33
  seem as bad because maybe in the nine to ten rounds of puking, I'm
• 5:41
  gonna be very raw with you, that hot dog might have come right up
• 5:46
  and so thank you. And if we go to a dollar hot dog night
• 5:51
  wants to get in a city field, which I know when they're going to
• 5:55
  do another one, I'll be just enjoying the game and not eating another dollar
• 6:00
  hot dog. And I guess it was a cap off to the year since
• 6:05
  the memorial with my dad trying to honor him in every way possible with the
• 6:11
  hot dogs, with the Cubs, and just it was not the best way
• 6:15
  to honor my dad. And I know my father on Sunday, after I
• 6:18
  was going through all this dehydrat everything, you know, I found a card
• 6:21
  from him, and I knew he was pretty ticked off up in heaven.

  I'll tell you that much, because I could just hear him in my head,
• 6:29
  chew your food that I could just hear it. And I miss you,
• 6:32
  Pops. But no hot dog's enough for me. We don't get along.
