- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show, now nine till noon weekdays on 710WOR.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Well, let's take some calls. Let's go to Joe Elmwood Park. Joe,
- 0:12Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 0:14Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Last week, our beautiful governor put a legislation that you
- 0:19Speaker 3: could take your cocktails out of the restaurant. Like, we
- 0:23Speaker 3: don't have enough drunks, and now we've got potheads on
- 0:25Speaker 3: the road. Instead of lowering our taxes and lowering our
- 0:28Speaker 3: utility bills.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Well, the restaurant's kind of lobbied for that because if
- 0:33Speaker 2: they could have drinks to go, they can make a
- 0:35Speaker 2: lot more money. True.
- 0:37Speaker 3: And, oh, on 60 Minutes, why don't you have Pierce
- 0:40Speaker 3: Morgan or Ricky Gervais for Andy Rooney's spot?
- 0:45Speaker 2: No, I think I don't want it. Pierce Morgan, he's
- 0:49Speaker 2: a little annoying. Yeah, Ricky Gervais would be good, but
- 0:52Speaker 2: he's too big. He's too big to do it. They've
- 0:53Speaker 2: been offering it. Remember the old Andy Rooney? Did you
- 0:56Speaker 2: ever notice that spot? They asked Seinfeld to do it.
- 0:59Speaker 2: He's too big, way too big to do that. Ricky Gervais,
- 1:03Speaker 2: too big to do that. Let's go to Ralph in Manhattan. Ralph,
- 1:06Speaker 2: how you doing? You know, Mark, I don't buy that
- 1:09Speaker 2: conspiracy theory that it's been covered up, the ground zero thing.
- 1:15Speaker 1: You know, you would think in 25 years time, the
- 1:17Speaker 1: thing would come out.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Why now?
- 1:20Speaker 2: And how did they? Because it was covered up and
- 1:23Speaker 2: it was buried in boxes in the basement. Bloomberg's not
- 1:26Speaker 2: going to bother. de Blasio never showed up, but he's
- 1:29Speaker 2: not looking through anything. Mamdani, he's trying to discredit Giuliani.
- 1:34Speaker 2: He's trying to discredit Pataki and all those. people, and
- 1:37Speaker 2: it's a good way to try to discredit them. So
- 1:39Speaker 2: he found it. Well, that's the whole thing. Mamdani taking
- 1:42Speaker 2: the advantage of the whole thing and coming out with
- 1:46Speaker 2: this at this time.
- 1:47Speaker 4: You got to look with a jaundiced eye at this thing,
- 1:50Speaker 4: don't you think?
- 1:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, listen, it's a good thing to release
- 1:53Speaker 2: the truth and let us know what happened, but his
- 1:55Speaker 2: motives are bad here, but it's a good thing in
- 1:58Speaker 2: the end, I guess. Let's go to John in Long Island. John,
- 2:01Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 2:02Speaker 1: Okay, Mark, thank you. Love your show every day.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 2:06Speaker 1: The other day, you brought up the expansion of the
- 2:09Speaker 1: White House, Mark, okay? And I don't think that even
- 2:14Speaker 1: Democrats don't understand. He's doing a favor to the future
- 2:18Speaker 1: generations and the future administrations of presidents of the United States.
- 2:22Speaker 1: What he's building there, I've seen the renderings. It's going
- 2:24Speaker 1: to be gorgeous.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's Trump. It's Trump. They don't like Trump.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but I'm just talking about the building itself.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Years ago... I'm an architect. The standard of designing concrete
- 2:37Speaker 1: was 4,000 pounds per square inch. When they built the
- 2:41Speaker 1: new Freedom Tower, that was designed with a whole new
- 2:44Speaker 1: aspect of concrete science at 15,000 pounds per square inch.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I can imagine now what they're building for the expansion
- 2:53Speaker 1: over there at the White House. There's going to be
- 2:55Speaker 1: something really amazingly durable and resistant.
- 2:57Speaker 2: He's using what they call nuclear concrete. which is used
- 3:02Speaker 2: in nuclear plants. Apparently, it's absolutely indestructible. Trump's saying you
- 3:07Speaker 2: can take a jackhammer and go at it for two
- 3:09Speaker 2: days and not even make a mark on it. The
- 3:12Speaker 2: reason he's doing that is he believes Democrats will try
- 3:14Speaker 2: to tear down his ballroom. So this nuclear concrete and
- 3:17Speaker 2: this very, very special kind of steel you can't remove
- 3:20Speaker 2: will make it impossible to tear it down. Let's go
- 3:24Speaker 2: to Robert in Manhattan. Robert, how are you doing?
- 3:27Speaker 4: Very good, Mark. How are you doing?
- 3:28Speaker 1: Good.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Everybody asks you how you're doing.
- 3:30Speaker 2: That's okay.
- 3:32Speaker 4: I'm answering that question.
- 3:33Speaker 2: No, it's fine. Remember Bob Grant, he'd get mad when
- 3:37Speaker 2: he asked that. He'd yell at you.
- 3:40Speaker 4: It's fine. There's so much disinformation out there about data centers. Yes.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Out of control. Yeah. First of all, people will be
- 3:51Speaker 4: very much surprised to know that 19 enterprise carrier class
- 3:57Speaker 4: data centers exist right now in lower Manhattan.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Yeah, we mentioned that the other day. There's actually 22 now.
- 4:06Speaker 4: And one is an entire city block.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Yeah, we already have. They've been there for.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Years and are expanded all the time. Nobody cares. We
- 4:13Speaker 4: have 72 data centers in all of the five boroughs.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yeah, we've mentioned that. They're all over the place in
- 4:18Speaker 2: New York.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Oh, I didn't know you mentioned that.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a good point. But we have data centers.
- 4:23Speaker 2: They're right in New York City. There's a couple in Manhattan.
- 4:26Speaker 2: We've already had data centers all over. These are just
- 4:28Speaker 2: bigger data centers. They will make a little more noise.
- 4:30Speaker 2: The reason I guess you didn't notice them in Manhattan,
- 4:33Speaker 2: who's going to notice noise in Manhattan? Wherever you live
- 4:37Speaker 2: in New York City, sometimes there's a noise outside your
- 4:40Speaker 2: window in the middle of the night all night. It's
- 4:41Speaker 2: Con Edison drilling, digging up the street or something like that.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Let's go to Rich in Myrtle Beach. Rich, how are
- 4:47Speaker 2: you doing?
- 4:49Speaker 1: Thanks, Mark. You know, this AI thing is real because,
- 4:51Speaker 1: you know, one person, Greg Gutfeld, was way ahead of
- 4:54Speaker 1: the field in this stuff. But I saw the guy
- 4:56Speaker 1: on Fox this morning saying that they put AI in
- 4:59Speaker 1: two or three solitary confinement positions. And those three AI
- 5:05Speaker 1: solitary confinements found a way to hack out of their
- 5:08Speaker 1: solitary confinement, merge with each other, and start hacking into
- 5:12Speaker 1: other stuff. And Cyberdyne is coming. I'm telling you. They
- 5:15Speaker 1: better watch out. All right.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Calm down.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Calm down. Take it easy. Everything will be fine.
- 5:20Speaker 1: And here's one for you. My gas went up 20
- 5:22Speaker 1: cents overnight. It's now 390 down here.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Wait. Give me a minute. I'm just
- 5:27Speaker 2: shaking up here.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I talked to Vincent yesterday afternoon or yesterday evening. What
- 5:32Speaker 1: do you mean you talked to Vincent?
- 5:34Speaker 2: What do you mean you talked to Vincent?
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he and I talk almost every single week about
- 5:38Speaker 1: fishing and all kinds of stuff.
- 5:39Speaker 2: How did you get Vincent's number?
- 5:41Speaker 1: That's a long story, but I got it. Anybody can
- 5:45Speaker 1: look me up. I had my own TV radio show
- 5:48Speaker 1: for 25 years. You and I spoke a bit. Oh,
- 5:50Speaker 1: that's right.
- 5:50Speaker 2: It was called The Tonight Show, right? You hosted that?
- 5:54Speaker 2: That's right. What was it called?
- 5:56Speaker 1: Jay Leno beat me out of it. That's right.
- 5:59Speaker 2: What was the show called?
- 6:00Speaker 1: It was called The Fishing Line. I did a fishing show.
- 6:04Speaker 1: You and I had this conversation about how much you
- 6:05Speaker 1: hate fishing and stuff like that.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I don't hate it. It's a little boring. If you're
- 6:09Speaker 2: a big drinker, it's great. You sit there and drink
- 6:11Speaker 2: while you fish.
- 6:14Speaker 1: In a lawn chair at Field 6 at Jones Beach.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Yeah, if you like sitting in a chair drinking beer,
- 6:18Speaker 2: it's a great hobby.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Soak some clams looking for striped bass. But if you
- 6:21Speaker 1: know what you're doing, it's very exciting and very profitable.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Calm down. Exciting is not the word. Enjoyable.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Thanks, Mark.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Exciting. I don't know. Anyway, thanks for calling. Hey, when
- 6:34Speaker 2: we come back, Ann Coulter will be with us next.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Lots to talk to her about. Coming up on 710WOR.
