Latest / Inside the Birds: A Philadelphia Eagles Podcast / Inside The Data: How Big Could Eagles Hurts' Next Extension Be?
Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, everybody, Welcome back to Inside the Data On Inside
- 0:12Speaker 1: the Birds. I'm Jeff Mosher and of course we have
- 0:14Speaker 1: Sam Finkle with us because we are going inside the
- 0:18Speaker 1: Data and we apologize. There was a lot going on
- 0:21Speaker 1: since we did the first of a two part podcast
- 0:24Speaker 1: series that we're gonna finish in this episode. We had
- 0:27Speaker 1: all the OTAs, we had the two to day mini camps,
- 0:29Speaker 1: so we had a lot of stuff going between the
- 0:32Speaker 1: first part of our series. And what this series is
- 0:34Speaker 1: about is projecting contracts for Eagles who are either in
- 0:39Speaker 1: that phase where it's their third years up and they're
- 0:42Speaker 1: like a Jailen Carter right who's eligible for a contract extension.
- 0:46Speaker 1: We talked about that when we did defensive players, and
- 0:49Speaker 1: now we're gonna move to offensive players, and we really
- 0:51Speaker 1: just isolated three three really important guys to talk about.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Quarterback Jaillen Hurts, wide receiver DeVante Smith, and right guard
- 0:59Speaker 1: Tyler Steen, who's different from those first two because he
- 1:02Speaker 1: is more of a first time contract extension guy if
- 1:06Speaker 1: the Eagles were to go that route. And so you
- 1:08Speaker 1: have three different scenarios here. You have a guy with
- 1:11Speaker 1: Hurts going into a potentially third contract, Smith going into No,
- 1:15Speaker 1: actually that would be the same Smith also getting a
- 1:17Speaker 1: third contract and Tyler Stein getting his second contract but
- 1:21Speaker 1: first extension with either the Eagles, Sam or another team.
- 1:26Speaker 1: So we'll get we'll get into that. But I want
- 1:29Speaker 1: to open because it's been a while since we did
- 1:31Speaker 1: the defensive one. You explained in the opening of the
- 1:35Speaker 1: last podcast we did on how you use your predictive
- 1:39Speaker 1: modeling to figure out accurately what players most likely will
- 1:45Speaker 1: make on their next extension. I would like you to
- 1:47Speaker 1: re explain that for our audience again.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Yeah, So the salary cap for twenty twenty seven, which
- 1:53Speaker 2: is the year we're looking at, because we're looking at
- 1:55Speaker 2: next year, it's obviously not been set, so we have
- 1:59Speaker 2: to look at estimate and I used over the caps
- 2:02Speaker 2: three hundred twenty seven million. Spot Rack has three twenty
- 2:06Speaker 2: three million, so it's not that far off. And the
- 2:09Speaker 2: cap is that like, is around three hundred and one
- 2:11Speaker 2: million now this year, so it's projected to grow. And
- 2:16Speaker 2: this analysis it's better to look at instead of the
- 2:20Speaker 2: So in previous years I looked at the ap y
- 2:24Speaker 2: the average per year, and now we're going to look
- 2:28Speaker 2: at percent of cap at signing because that transit The
- 2:32Speaker 2: big thing that I had trouble with when I did
- 2:34Speaker 2: this originally was.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Calculating cap inflation.
- 2:38Speaker 2: And so as the cap goes up, you know, salaries
- 2:41Speaker 2: go up and sometimes can make these values sound ridiculous.
- 2:44Speaker 3: So the better way to look at it.
- 2:45Speaker 2: And when when you look at the comps instead of
- 2:48Speaker 2: the actual dollar amount, that the more important number is
- 2:50Speaker 2: the percent of cap at signing, because that's what actually
- 2:53Speaker 2: translates to what the market is and it actually adjusts
- 2:56Speaker 2: for the inflation.
- 2:57Speaker 1: As is right right, It's always as we say, it's
- 3:00Speaker 1: not an exact science. There are teams that do extensions differently.
- 3:04Speaker 1: There are teams that spread out the money differently. In fact,
- 3:08Speaker 1: we can bring this up because we'll talk about Jalen
- 3:10Speaker 1: Hurts first. But obviously the Chiefs just did another extension
- 3:15Speaker 1: with Patrick Mahomes, right, and I want they have a
- 3:19Speaker 1: they've had a habit since his first big one right
- 3:22Speaker 1: of giving him tons of upfront money but also making
- 3:27Speaker 1: them very long deals correct so that the APY might
- 3:33Speaker 1: not be as much as the guy whoever leads lead
- 3:37Speaker 1: the quarterback with the highest APY. But and the percentage
- 3:41Speaker 1: of cap, how does that influence that? Also by what
- 3:44Speaker 1: they do yeah.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I mean, the thing is it is a large amount
- 3:48Speaker 2: of cap at signing, but as a long term deal,
- 3:52Speaker 2: I mean, the salary cap increases and the APY stays
- 3:54Speaker 2: the same over the deal, So basically it effectively gets
- 3:57Speaker 2: cheaper each year respective to the app growth.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Right, and especially if you I mean, if you sign
- 4:03Speaker 1: a five to six years most contracts these days are
- 4:06Speaker 1: between three and six years. When you do a ten
- 4:09Speaker 1: year one, that really enables a team to push some
- 4:12Speaker 1: money and really keep those apys and those percentages lower.
- 4:16Speaker 1: But the upfront money, as you're saying, it's not like
- 4:19Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes is taking a pay gun, right, He's getting
- 4:22Speaker 1: a lot of upfront money.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And I think sometimes we look at this and it's
- 4:26Speaker 2: an oversimplification of the process because obviously, you know, cap
- 4:30Speaker 2: number matters a lot more for you know, roster management
- 4:33Speaker 2: and construction. But the APY is a very simple way
- 4:37Speaker 2: to just understand the value of a contract, and that's
- 4:40Speaker 2: kind of what we're trying to really focus on, is
- 4:42Speaker 2: what is the value of the contract, not necessarily how
- 4:46Speaker 2: the team allocates that value throughout the years of the contract.
- 4:49Speaker 2: But I do think it's important to say that there
- 4:51Speaker 2: is a distinction between those concepts.
- 4:54Speaker 1: There you go, all right, good stuff. So that's going
- 4:57Speaker 1: to lead us into our discussion on jail and why
- 5:00Speaker 1: we're bringing up Jalen Hurts is because he has, as
- 5:05Speaker 1: far as guaranteed money, which we always talk about the
- 5:07Speaker 1: big deal, he only has this year and next year
- 5:11Speaker 1: remaining of guaranteed money. Okay, and I think in twenty
- 5:14Speaker 1: twenty seven it's a low number for a quarterback. It's
- 5:17Speaker 1: like twenty two million dollars. So you could you could,
- 5:20Speaker 1: theoretically if Jalen Hurts had a bad year or did
- 5:23Speaker 1: not live up to the standards and you wanted to
- 5:25Speaker 1: move him, and it would be a tree. They wouldn't
- 5:27Speaker 1: just cut him, right, You could absorb twenty two million.
- 5:30Speaker 1: You could do it post June one and even separate
- 5:32Speaker 1: that into two if he wants to, although I doubt
- 5:34Speaker 1: you would trade a quarterback post June one. But the
- 5:37Speaker 1: point is this is a big year because it's it's
- 5:39Speaker 1: a crossroads. If he does well, he will have every
- 5:43Speaker 1: reason to say we need to redo the deal because
- 5:46Speaker 1: that's a small, minutes skial amount of guaranteed money for
- 5:49Speaker 1: a quarterback. So we're going to operate under the term
- 5:53Speaker 1: here that he's going to do well enough to be
- 5:56Speaker 1: able to earn that next contract. So how did you
- 5:59Speaker 1: determine what that would look like?
- 6:01Speaker 3: Yeah, so I have not yet.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I forgot that we have a beautiful screen and a
- 6:05Speaker 1: lot of work that you do to share. So if
- 6:07Speaker 1: you give me one second, I will bring that up
- 6:10Speaker 1: so that everybody who's watching on YouTube can see what
- 6:14Speaker 1: the hell we're all talking about.
- 6:16Speaker 2: All right, I mean factors are age, and then I
- 6:23Speaker 2: just put some advanced statistics up here, the completion percentage
- 6:26Speaker 2: over expectation, which is just you.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Know, the model projects.
- 6:30Speaker 2: It's an NFL pro statistic where their model projects what
- 6:34Speaker 2: an expected completion percentage would be, and then how many
- 6:37Speaker 2: are completed over or under. That is kind of that determination.
- 6:41Speaker 2: EPA per drop back is just expected points added. How
- 6:44Speaker 2: much value are you bringing each time you drop back
- 6:47Speaker 2: per you know, per drop back? Then rush yards over
- 6:51Speaker 2: expected same thing as completion percentage over expectations. It's rushing yards,
- 6:54Speaker 2: and then rushing EPA per attempt, which is the same
- 6:57Speaker 2: thing as EPA per drop back, just the rushing attempts
- 6:59Speaker 2: of it.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Right, And if you need any further evidence of how
- 7:02Speaker 1: much a really strong running game also helps a passing
- 7:05Speaker 1: game and a quarterback. Look no further than twenty twenty
- 7:08Speaker 1: four when Sae Kwon Barkley said all those records and
- 7:11Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts had a CPOE I believe when we would
- 7:14Speaker 1: do shows at the time, he was number one in
- 7:17Speaker 1: the NFL for quarterbacks and CPOE plus twoentt three right,
- 7:21Speaker 1: and last year quite their aggression and also not just
- 7:26Speaker 1: running game scheme staleness, all that factors in, but down
- 7:30Speaker 1: to three point one percent exactly.
- 7:33Speaker 3: And then also his accolades.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Right, he had the Super Bowl MVP, he used a
- 7:37Speaker 2: second team All Pro in twenty twenty two, and he's
- 7:39Speaker 2: had three Pro Bowls, right selections.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Yes, wait, now hold on to I'm not trying to
- 7:45Speaker 1: disparage Jalen Hurts here. I believe the NFL or some
- 7:49Speaker 1: factor someone has come out and said, like they're not
- 7:53Speaker 1: counting Pro Bowls if you make it as like the
- 7:55Speaker 1: other alternate, like you either got to be voted in
- 7:59Speaker 1: as a starter or well Pro Bowl games you're either
- 8:02Speaker 1: starter ors or something like that. So I don't know
- 8:04Speaker 1: if the does the twenty twenty five to one count, because.
- 8:07Speaker 3: He would believe it does do. Yeah, I do believe
- 8:10Speaker 3: it does clarity on that, but go ahead.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Yeah, uh, at least like in some of like the track,
- 8:16Speaker 2: I think on the NFL website itself, it has him
- 8:18Speaker 2: listed as the.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Pro Bowler there.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Okay, I'll have to confirm that as well, But I'm
- 8:22Speaker 2: pretty sure it was.
- 8:23Speaker 1: A little silly, right because like over the last few years,
- 8:25Speaker 1: we've seen some guys who've played like three games get
- 8:27Speaker 1: into the Pro Bowl games and it's gotten a little
- 8:30Speaker 1: out of hand.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's the Pro Bowls is not what
- 8:34Speaker 2: it used to be. I mean, I think you can
- 8:35Speaker 2: speak to that more than most people, just because you've
- 8:40Speaker 2: seen what it was. And yeah, actually I don't even
- 8:43Speaker 2: see it on listed on I thought for some reason
- 8:45Speaker 2: it was beyond the NFL website, but I don't think
- 8:48Speaker 2: it is.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I remember Tyler Huntley made it one year as like
- 8:51Speaker 1: a fifth alternate. Somebody else made it two years ago
- 8:55Speaker 1: that only played a few guy who was it was
- 8:57Speaker 1: like a backup quarterback who played a couple of games
- 8:59Speaker 1: and they threw him in there at the last second.
- 9:02Speaker 1: So it was very it's becoming strange.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Well, yeah, because people keep backing out of it, right right.
- 9:10Speaker 2: It definitely is part of it so.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Oh Sanders, he made it.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, I mean, come on, it's it's I mean
- 9:19Speaker 2: all Pro has always been kind of the more respected one,
- 9:22Speaker 2: but there's less selections of it. So correct, right, But
- 9:28Speaker 2: I think it's important to also talk about the market,
- 9:32Speaker 2: you know, the quarterback market.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Yes, spent a little bit of time talking about, you know,
- 9:36Speaker 3: where where it looks for the league.
- 9:40Speaker 2: As you can see, I mean there's always announcements who
- 9:44Speaker 2: is the highest paid quarterback in the league, But again
- 9:47Speaker 2: it's it's percent as of cap of signing, and that's Burrow.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Burrow has the highest from twenty twenty three when he
- 9:54Speaker 2: was twenty six is a twenty four and a half.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Then it's Dak Prescott's contract in twenty twenty f which
- 10:00Speaker 2: was changed up is twenty three and a half. Then
- 10:03Speaker 2: Herbert which is a little bit surprising at twenty three
- 10:06Speaker 2: point four, young Lamar, and then Mahomes is actually going
- 10:09Speaker 2: to be higher. We don't have all the reporting of
- 10:12Speaker 2: what his contract actually like.
- 10:13Speaker 3: We have an idea, but this I did this.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Chart before it and the reporting isn't out as of
- 10:20Speaker 2: recording right now entirely, so this is reflected of the
- 10:24Speaker 2: twenty twenty contract, which is twenty two point seven, but
- 10:26Speaker 2: he would be a lot higher on this list.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, so I love this list you put together,
- 10:33Speaker 1: and I'm gonna sort of tease and maybe spoil a
- 10:36Speaker 1: little bit of your projection because I want to make
- 10:38Speaker 1: a point. Burrow Prescott, Bengals Cowboys, you're talking about the
- 10:44Speaker 1: two teams that do business as in my opinion, stupidly
- 10:48Speaker 1: as possible because they wait until the very last minute,
- 10:52Speaker 1: and so therefore they have to pay the most amount
- 10:56Speaker 1: of dollar. Right. So that's why Burrow's at twenty four
- 10:59Speaker 1: and a half percent. That's why dak is at twenty
- 11:02Speaker 1: three point five percent. Safe thing with Lamar, they waited
- 11:05Speaker 1: a long time for him to get his deal, right,
- 11:07Speaker 1: twenty three point one percent. The Eagles, as we know,
- 11:11Speaker 1: are a lot smarter. They try to get ahead of
- 11:13Speaker 1: the game. So when you look at the Packers, who
- 11:16Speaker 1: are smart organization, the Lions have become one and you
- 11:19Speaker 1: see that they've got their guys locked in at a
- 11:22Speaker 1: percentage of the cap that is significantly lower. I know
- 11:25Speaker 1: it doesn't seen it, but it is at twenty one
- 11:28Speaker 1: and a half percent for Lawrence, twenty one and a
- 11:30Speaker 1: half percent for Love twenty one percent. For god, Allen
- 11:34Speaker 1: at nineteen point seven percent is great. Perty at nineteen
- 11:37Speaker 1: That to me is where we're looking at, right, And
- 11:40Speaker 1: I'm sure you kept that in mind with the Eagles,
- 11:42Speaker 1: because they're going to get ahead of it. They're not
- 11:43Speaker 1: going to wait until the last second.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Absolutely, that's a huge factor and a big part of this.
- 11:50Speaker 2: And then the one contract you ignored, which I think
- 11:54Speaker 2: the league kind of wishes they could ignore, is that
- 11:56Speaker 2: Deshaun Watson won yes, which honestly was a very very
- 12:00Speaker 2: bad contract at its inception, and it's kind of a
- 12:04Speaker 2: stain here on this list at twenty two point one.
- 12:06Speaker 2: And we're not even talking about the guarantees, but if
- 12:09Speaker 2: we did, it would be problematic for that reason as well.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the outlier. I was actually surprised to see
- 12:16Speaker 1: that Stafford's eighteen point three percent was that low because
- 12:20Speaker 1: they just did it, and I thought they gave him
- 12:23Speaker 1: a ton of moneies.
- 12:24Speaker 3: But so they did.
- 12:26Speaker 2: But again, as the salary cap grew, it's less reflective
- 12:30Speaker 2: of the cap.
- 12:31Speaker 1: That's a great point, all right, So then let's we're
- 12:34Speaker 1: going under the assumption jillen Hurts has a really good
- 12:37Speaker 1: year or a good enough year to get himself the
- 12:39Speaker 1: contract extension. And based on the context we just gave,
- 12:43Speaker 1: what did you see in your projection?
- 12:45Speaker 3: So here's the thing.
- 12:46Speaker 2: This is a situation that's going to sound kind of backwards, right.
- 12:50Speaker 2: So Hurts is going to get a raise if this,
- 12:53Speaker 2: if it plays out the way that we all kind
- 12:56Speaker 2: of think it does, is going to He's going to
- 12:58Speaker 2: get a raise, but he's going to get lower percentage
- 13:00Speaker 2: of the cap.
- 13:02Speaker 3: And I think that's just the trend of the way
- 13:04Speaker 3: the league is going.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I think that's because the Eagles are a smart organization
- 13:07Speaker 2: and it's going to be comparable to that Josh Allen,
- 13:10Speaker 2: Jared Goff and you know, a little bit lower than
- 13:13Speaker 2: the Jordan Love and Trevor Lawrence range.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Is what I expect. But again, it's.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Going to be around sixty three point eight million to
- 13:20Speaker 2: sixty eight point seven million, which is a significant amount,
- 13:23Speaker 2: but as the cap grows, it's a lesser percentage of
- 13:26Speaker 2: So it's better from the team's perspective because they are
- 13:30Speaker 2: allocating a less percentage sue the quarterback position, but it's
- 13:34Speaker 2: better for Hurts because he gets a significant raise.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Absolutely, right, And if you want to know how significant
- 13:40Speaker 1: you know, when his contract really kicked in, because when
- 13:42Speaker 1: they did the first one, they kept the you know,
- 13:45Speaker 1: you get a lot of cash up front and everything,
- 13:47Speaker 1: but he was in that I think forty to forty
- 13:49Speaker 1: two million a year range, which back then, and just
- 13:53Speaker 1: that shows you how how quick the the cash for
- 13:55Speaker 1: quarterback ryance doesn't that I mean, it doesn't seem that
- 13:58Speaker 1: long ago he signed that extension, but it was around
- 14:00Speaker 1: forty two I believe per year, and now you're looking
- 14:03Speaker 1: at something that's gonna give him sixty four to sixty
- 14:05Speaker 1: nine million per year. Absolutely amazing, amazing when you consider that,
- 14:12Speaker 1: and all those guys that we talked about on defense,
- 14:16Speaker 1: which was Jaylex Hunt right, it was who else to
- 14:19Speaker 1: be Morow with Jomo, we talked about Jalen Carter. We
- 14:23Speaker 1: didn't even get into Quinya Mitchell and Cooper to g
- 14:26Speaker 1: and this team is gonna have to make I saw
- 14:29Speaker 1: this to Adam on inside the Birds. I don't know
- 14:31Speaker 1: what the move is that they have to make, but
- 14:34Speaker 1: in the next two years, the Eagles are gonna have
- 14:35Speaker 1: to make a very unpopular move too. And they've done
- 14:39Speaker 1: a couple They've done that a couple of times. Where
- 14:40Speaker 1: they let a guy, you know, Milton Williams, you know,
- 14:43Speaker 1: like it happens Jalen Phillips. They're gonna have to make
- 14:46Speaker 1: a really unpopular move of not being able to pay somebody.
- 14:50Speaker 1: And I don't know who that is. I mean, listen,
- 14:52Speaker 1: it might be Zach Bahn, right this is the last
- 14:54Speaker 1: year of his deal. They have Jihad Campbell. Jeremiah Trotter
- 14:58Speaker 1: is cheap labor right now and seems to play really
- 15:00Speaker 1: well in practice one. If he plays well, isn't going
- 15:03Speaker 1: to want to take less than the seventeen and a
- 15:04Speaker 1: half he's making, you know, especially if he has another
- 15:07Speaker 1: Pro Bowl season. So I don't know who it is.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I'm just you know, we spitball.
- 15:10Speaker 2: But yeah, maybe one hundred percent agree something is going
- 15:14Speaker 2: to have to be done. But again, the TV deals expires.
- 15:17Speaker 3: In twenty twenty nine.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Great point if that the cap is going to grow
- 15:21Speaker 2: so substantially that you know, again and again the agents
- 15:25Speaker 2: are going to be looking at this percent of cap
- 15:26Speaker 2: and be like, well, you know, historically the allocation has
- 15:30Speaker 2: been you know, exper position y for instance, like quarterback,
- 15:35Speaker 2: like you know, if they waited till like let's say
- 15:38Speaker 2: the the you know, Bengals wait until twenty twenty nine
- 15:41Speaker 2: to extend Burrow, and they're like, oh, well, the CAP's
- 15:44Speaker 2: set four hundred million, we get twenty five percent of that,
- 15:46Speaker 2: so give me one hundred million.
- 15:48Speaker 3: You know.
- 15:48Speaker 2: It's it's that's that's where the logic gets kind of skewed,
- 15:52Speaker 2: and it'd be interesting.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Yeah, the Bengals really back themselves in a corner because
- 15:57Speaker 1: now when he when Burrow wants to do his next extension, right,
- 16:01Speaker 1: how does he say it doesn't matter what the number value.
- 16:06Speaker 1: It's like, it's got to be at least as long
- 16:07Speaker 1: as its playing well, right, it's got to be at
- 16:09Speaker 1: least twenty four point five percent of the cap. It's
- 16:12Speaker 1: always going to have to be. He can't take like
- 16:15Speaker 1: eighteen percent of the cap, even if they gave him
- 16:17Speaker 1: like a ten year deal, right and so much upfront money,
- 16:19Speaker 1: because that's the precedent that they said. I don't know,
- 16:22Speaker 1: it's very weird that they do that.
- 16:24Speaker 2: One thing I forgot to mention about the Hurts and
- 16:26Speaker 2: why I positioned him lower than Lawrence and Love is Age.
- 16:30Speaker 3: That was like a big part of it.
- 16:33Speaker 2: I think it's more like it'll be twenty eight so
- 16:36Speaker 2: it'd be close to to that golf and Alan age
- 16:39Speaker 2: that that was a big thing, a factor I neglected
- 16:42Speaker 2: to mention, but it was a big part of the
- 16:44Speaker 2: decision and the modeling.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Right, So you had love at twenty one and a
- 16:49Speaker 1: half percent, and yeah, your your ceiling for hurts will
- 16:52Speaker 1: be twenty one percent. So that's that's pretty close though.
- 16:54Speaker 2: But that was the reasoning I meant to mention that,
- 16:57Speaker 2: and I just wanted to say it.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Now, Yeah, good stuff, all right. So now we're gonna
- 17:02Speaker 1: talk about a different kind of extension. And I Sam
- 17:05Speaker 1: Adam and I talked about this in a recent pod
- 17:07Speaker 1: inside the Birds. We think this is gonna happen. We
- 17:10Speaker 1: expect this to happen sooner than later because DeVante Smith
- 17:15Speaker 1: is now a He's first of all, he's your number
- 17:18Speaker 1: one wide out now with AJ Brown gone, He's gonna
- 17:20Speaker 1: get a monster amount of targets. We all know that.
- 17:23Speaker 1: And then secondly, I believe he from his extension that
- 17:28Speaker 1: he signed a couple of years ago, is in the
- 17:32Speaker 1: final year of guaranteed money for him as well. No
- 17:35Speaker 1: next year would be I believe. So the point is,
- 17:38Speaker 1: you want to get ahead of it. This is a
- 17:39Speaker 1: market that's getting inflated really quickly. We made the point
- 17:43Speaker 1: that at this time next year, you're gonna have guys
- 17:45Speaker 1: like Poka Minakua, possibly Malik Neighbors if he has has
- 17:50Speaker 1: a real good bounce back year, Zay Flowers, Jordanatis, and
- 17:54Speaker 1: there's gonna be and plus somebody will be due for
- 17:57Speaker 1: an extension. This number is gonna keep rising and it
- 18:03Speaker 1: just rows a lot with the Jackson Smith and Jigbook Hunt.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Which is interesting because he's actually the second as percent
- 18:09Speaker 2: of cap at signing, which is not too shabby, but
- 18:13Speaker 2: it's worth mentioning that's only second on the list.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Correct. All right, So let's first go through some stats
- 18:18Speaker 1: here with DeVante to explain where he's at.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he's had three one thousand yard seasons,
- 18:27Speaker 2: he's consistently had you know, he's had three seven or
- 18:31Speaker 2: more touchdown seasons. His catch percentage is anywhere from sixty
- 18:38Speaker 2: to like seventy seven percent, and he always adds value
- 18:43Speaker 2: in that catch rate over expectation.
- 18:46Speaker 3: He's always making the tough catches.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I mean, I think that translates pretty well to what
- 18:50Speaker 2: you actually see on the screen, but the stats back
- 18:54Speaker 2: it up. I mean, he makes tough catches he makes.
- 18:56Speaker 2: He's a quarterback's best friend in that regard. He can
- 18:58Speaker 2: make some incredible catches and then he adds a lot
- 19:02Speaker 2: of value in the expected points added, so doesn't have
- 19:06Speaker 2: many drops, you know. That's that's a big part of
- 19:08Speaker 2: it for both catch percentage, catch rate over expectation and
- 19:12Speaker 2: receiving EPA.
- 19:13Speaker 3: So yeah, and.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Just to point out, in twenty twenty four, he played
- 19:17Speaker 1: I believe twelve or thirteen games, and that's why it
- 19:19Speaker 1: says eight hundred and thirty three yards his yards per
- 19:22Speaker 1: game extrapolated over seventeen games was actually closer to eleven
- 19:27Speaker 1: hundred yards than it was one thousand.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Sure. Yeah, that's a really good point. I'm glad he
- 19:32Speaker 3: brought that up.
- 19:33Speaker 1: All right, So let's now look at the market, which
- 19:38Speaker 1: is a crazy freaking.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Market, Yes, it really is.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I think our eyes instantly are going to go to
- 19:47Speaker 2: where aj Brown.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Is just because of all the events that are going on.
- 19:52Speaker 2: And he is at twelve point five percent of capet
- 19:55Speaker 2: signing for the twenty twenty four contract, and then Devata
- 19:57Speaker 2: Smith who also got extended that same obviousely and was
- 20:00Speaker 2: at nine point eight percent, right right, I think that's
- 20:05Speaker 2: just important just to you know, discuss at the outset.
- 20:08Speaker 2: But you look at the rest of these contracts, you know,
- 20:11Speaker 2: the top ones. You have the names that you expect
- 20:14Speaker 2: Jamar Chase, Justin, Jefferson, c D. Lamp the JSN contract
- 20:17Speaker 2: that is a pretty big one, right, But then you
- 20:20Speaker 2: have like almost like a tier drop off with the
- 20:22Speaker 2: with DK metcalf I'm and Ross Saint Brown, Brandon Nyuk
- 20:26Speaker 2: who I'm not even sure if he was ever gonna
- 20:28Speaker 2: play football again, Terry McLaurin, Garrett Wilson, Jalen Waddle, DJ Moore,
- 20:33Speaker 2: you know, and they all vary between.
- 20:36Speaker 3: That like ten to twelve percent.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 3: And then you have guys that under DeVante.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Smith's contract, which is Jamison Williams, Nico Collins, the Alec
- 20:45Speaker 2: Pierce contract, and then the franchise tag on George Pickens,
- 20:48Speaker 2: which is at nine point one percent. But all those
- 20:50Speaker 2: guys are anywhere from like nine to ten percent. M h,
- 20:54Speaker 2: I guess in that tier, yeah, nine to ten percent.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Yeah. So here's the tricky part. There's a lot of
- 20:58Speaker 1: guys here I think who he's better than he just
- 21:02Speaker 1: and and they have to when they're at the negotiation table, understand,
- 21:06Speaker 1: I'm sure they will that just because mclaurin's had X
- 21:10Speaker 1: amount of thousand yard years, and just because Garrett Wilson
- 21:14Speaker 1: was a top pick who had a couple of early
- 21:16Speaker 1: really good years, you know, And I'm on Saint Brown,
- 21:19Speaker 1: you could put DeVante Smith in that cat, I mean
- 21:22Speaker 1: anywhere up. I thought he was better than a J.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Brown last year personally. Yeah, But if you want to
- 21:26Speaker 1: said it was a down year from round, fine, But
- 21:28Speaker 1: I think he's I think he's a more varied and
- 21:31Speaker 1: precise route runner than DK Metcalf, So like he deserves
- 21:35Speaker 1: to be right in that eleven point six to eleven
- 21:39Speaker 1: point eight percent range. But again, if the Eagles get
- 21:42Speaker 1: ahead of this, right, they don't necessarily have to give
- 21:46Speaker 1: him that percent.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Of the cat right. And that's that's the thing.
- 21:50Speaker 2: I do think in almost every imaginable, imaginable scenario, he's
- 21:55Speaker 2: gonna be over that nine point.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Eight percent number.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Sure.
- 21:58Speaker 3: I just I just don't see him being under it.
- 22:02Speaker 2: I think there could be if he gets hurt, but
- 22:04Speaker 2: I just even if he gets hurt, I.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Don't see him doing the extension then.
- 22:08Speaker 2: So I just the more I'm thinking about it, I
- 22:11Speaker 2: think my projection of ten and a half to eleven
- 22:14Speaker 2: and a half makes a lot of sense if they
- 22:15Speaker 2: get to it early, which is still pretty significant. It's
- 22:18Speaker 2: thirty four point three to thirty seven point six million
- 22:21Speaker 2: a year.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Right, and again the reason to do it now is
- 22:24Speaker 1: you don't want to get closer to free agency. And
- 22:27Speaker 1: the name right here that was last on the list,
- 22:29Speaker 1: George Pickens. All right, so you have two guys next
- 22:34Speaker 1: year who are probably going to inflate the market, like
- 22:37Speaker 1: you wouldn't believe, one of them being Pickens, the other
- 22:40Speaker 1: one potentially if he gets keeps his head on straight Nikua,
- 22:44Speaker 1: those two alone could really really take that market to
- 22:48Speaker 1: another level.
- 22:50Speaker 3: So getting ahead of it's really important.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Yeah, so we would project then somewhere between a thirty
- 22:57Speaker 1: four point three and thirty seven point six million ap
- 23:01Speaker 1: Why I think that sounds reasonable. The only thing that
- 23:05Speaker 1: makes it like weird And sometimes this happens, right, a
- 23:08Speaker 1: free agent signs of contract and it's like, holy cow,
- 23:11Speaker 1: how did he do that? What was Do we have
- 23:14Speaker 1: the Alex Pierce apy from his ridiculous contract with the Colts.
- 23:19Speaker 1: It's like twenty nine million, right, Yeah, it's a half okay,
- 23:24Speaker 1: So as long as he's got to be well above
- 23:26Speaker 1: the twenty eight and a half because there's no way
- 23:28Speaker 1: you would say Alec Pierce is anything close to to
- 23:31Speaker 1: Devonte Smith like Alli Piers. Don't get me wrong, I'm
- 23:33Speaker 1: not trying to like, Yeah, he smirks the guy, but
- 23:36Speaker 1: he's not Devonte Smith.
- 23:37Speaker 3: I totally agree.
- 23:38Speaker 2: But that's why I included a much larger spread for
- 23:41Speaker 2: the wide receiver market because I think it's important to
- 23:43Speaker 2: see all.
- 23:44Speaker 3: The contracts there.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's a big part of it.
- 23:49Speaker 1: So I think it's a workout. The only thing that
- 23:52Speaker 1: could potentially happen not knowing, you know, I forget who
- 23:55Speaker 1: Devonte Smith's agent is. I can I can check in
- 23:57Speaker 1: a second. He does they do kind of have they do?
- 24:01Speaker 1: They have leverage? He's twenty eight That's that's the thing.
- 24:04Speaker 1: He's twenty eight years old. I think people forget.
- 24:06Speaker 3: It's clutch sports.
- 24:08Speaker 1: It's clout. Okay, so it's clutch. They can play hardball
- 24:10Speaker 1: at times. I mean, if they walked in there and said,
- 24:14Speaker 1: he's about to have kind of year in your offense
- 24:17Speaker 1: that Smith and Jigba just had for the Seahawks, because
- 24:20Speaker 1: he's really far and away one A and there's no
- 24:23Speaker 1: one b like he was to aj Brown. They have
- 24:26Speaker 1: a right to say that. They have a right to
- 24:28Speaker 1: say he's going to be the Jefferson, the Smith and
- 24:31Speaker 1: Jigba the lamb of the Eagles this year and he
- 24:35Speaker 1: should be in a higher percentile. I mean, they have the.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Right to say that at that point, Like did the
- 24:41Speaker 2: Eagles move on right?
- 24:44Speaker 3: If he's getting close to that?
- 24:45Speaker 2: Because what did jays sence was forty two It's like
- 24:49Speaker 2: close to forty two million a year, Yeah, something like that. Like,
- 24:53Speaker 2: I don't know if the Eagles want to dedicate that
- 24:55Speaker 2: much cap to a receiver. I mean, they just drafted
- 24:57Speaker 2: Lemon and they've signed a couple guys as they traded
- 25:00Speaker 2: for Wish.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not saying that they should do that. I'm
- 25:04Speaker 3: just I'm just wondering how much, with.
- 25:06Speaker 2: All these defensive contracts coming up, how much they actually
- 25:08Speaker 2: want to allocate to their receiver position.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Right, But it seems like, you know, I.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Don't I don't want to say the Eagles have done
- 25:14Speaker 2: a poor job drafting receivers, but like it's one of
- 25:17Speaker 2: the areas that have been a little bit difficult for them.
- 25:20Speaker 2: So do they want to you know, spend on who
- 25:22Speaker 2: they've got now or do they want to try again
- 25:24Speaker 2: and reroll the dice.
- 25:26Speaker 1: So that that gives me two thoughts. One thought is
- 25:29Speaker 1: if he winds up making more than we project here,
- 25:32Speaker 1: then you project I shouldn't say these are this is
- 25:34Speaker 1: your modeling. If we wind up, if they wind up
- 25:37Speaker 1: paying him more than you project, and he does get
- 25:40Speaker 1: that kind of contract that we were just talking about,
- 25:43Speaker 1: then that to me would signal that the Eagles, who
- 25:47Speaker 1: are always looking forward, if they're going to give him
- 25:49Speaker 1: that kind of money, then they're probably already thinking about
- 25:53Speaker 1: who's not going to be able to get money? And
- 25:55Speaker 1: then a guy like Sakwon Barkley comes up here because
- 25:58Speaker 1: you know he's good. He also is going to have
- 26:01Speaker 1: most of his guaranteed money done by the end of
- 26:03Speaker 1: the year. Landon Dickerson, they may think is not is
- 26:06Speaker 1: gonna wind up retiring or not gonna be able to
- 26:08Speaker 1: They already took one pay cut, okay, just this year,
- 26:11Speaker 1: so they may think he's on his I hate to
- 26:14Speaker 1: say the word last legs because I'm being metaphorical, but
- 26:16Speaker 1: like you know, trying to think who else Dallas Goddard's
- 26:21Speaker 1: money is going to come off the books. I mean,
- 26:23Speaker 1: it can be done, especially if they want to front
- 26:25Speaker 1: load this contract for this year and next knowing that
- 26:29Speaker 1: they're going to be skimming in certain categories. But again
- 26:32Speaker 1: with those other guys who are do money, it's they
- 26:34Speaker 1: have to they have to make it work. But then
- 26:36Speaker 1: the second thought that came to my mind is the
- 26:39Speaker 1: mindset for DeVante. When he first signed his contract extension
- 26:42Speaker 1: that he's currently under now, it was considered team friendly,
- 26:46Speaker 1: and I think DeVante understood that A. J. Brown was
- 26:50Speaker 1: on the team and that he could be team friendly.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Now does he love playing in Philadelphia and you know,
- 26:55Speaker 1: like this organization and believe it enough to again sign
- 26:59Speaker 1: a contract that works well for both sides? Or is
- 27:02Speaker 1: this was he waiting the first time he signed? Was
- 27:05Speaker 1: he like, next time is going to be my terms
- 27:08Speaker 1: more than their terms? So that to me, it's all
- 27:10Speaker 1: about the mentality of him and his representation.
- 27:12Speaker 3: One hundred percent.
- 27:13Speaker 2: And the thing is, let's say that he does go
- 27:15Speaker 2: on the free market and gets a contract similar to
- 27:19Speaker 2: what AJ Brown did at Capit signing that's like forty
- 27:21Speaker 2: one million a year.
- 27:22Speaker 3: If that's twelve and a half percent, that's close to forty.
- 27:25Speaker 2: One million, right, So I mean I I do a
- 27:29Speaker 2: lot of this was under the assumption that you know,
- 27:32Speaker 2: the Eagles are gonna get ahead of it and that
- 27:34Speaker 2: there would be buy in yeah from Smith.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Yeah, there's probably a middle ground in there, because the
- 27:40Speaker 1: one area of leverage that the Eagles have is that
- 27:43Speaker 1: they do have him under contract for next year. Right,
- 27:45Speaker 1: So he's going to be twenty eight this November and
- 27:50Speaker 1: then he'd be headed into free agency at So that
- 27:55Speaker 1: means he'd be twenty nine next November. In the last
- 27:57Speaker 1: year he'd be headed into free agency in an age
- 28:01Speaker 1: thirty season for a wide receiver, and they would be
- 28:03Speaker 1: I think it would be pretty difficult to get like
- 28:06Speaker 1: a huge, huge windfall at that point.
- 28:09Speaker 2: So I'm thinking that like that was when DeVante Adams
- 28:13Speaker 2: and Chris Godwin both were you know, at their season
- 28:17Speaker 2: and they set the records.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Before good point.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I'm just thinking, like, A, I don't know, it'd be interesting.
- 28:24Speaker 2: It receivers such a hard position because the market is
- 28:27Speaker 2: very dynamic, and then you have crazy contracts like that
- 28:31Speaker 2: Christian kirkwan a couple of years ago, or the Alec
- 28:34Speaker 2: Pierce won this year.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Yes, it does. It's a weird market. To project. I
- 28:38Speaker 3: have some difficulty with this one, right, so we'll go.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I like your your thinking on the ten point five
- 28:44Speaker 1: to wellout a half percent of the cap the thirty
- 28:46Speaker 1: four and thirty eight million, But I don't think either
- 28:49Speaker 1: of us would be surprised if it got a little
- 28:51Speaker 1: higher than that, or at least the way it was
- 28:54Speaker 1: the contract front load. He gets a little more guaranteed
- 28:56Speaker 1: money than what we would.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Expect, I think, especially if he outperforms his statistics significantly
- 29:03Speaker 2: as the number one option, like if he has a
- 29:07Speaker 2: ridiculous season, this number would like this number is based
- 29:11Speaker 2: on his statistics now right, And I think I think we've.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Got to get it done before this season.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Though, yes, I think they have to because I think
- 29:19Speaker 2: that you can justify this ten and a half to
- 29:21Speaker 2: eleven and a half now right, And if you did that, yeah,
- 29:26Speaker 2: I think you have to get it done as soon
- 29:27Speaker 2: as possible.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Have like one hundred and fifty targets year. Yeah, all right,
- 29:34Speaker 1: So Tyler Steen. The reason we're going to discuss Tyler
- 29:37Speaker 1: Steen not because we believe one hundred percent he's going
- 29:42Speaker 1: to get a contract extension. In fact, I think it's
- 29:45Speaker 1: more unlikely than likely, Although I think some of that
- 29:49Speaker 1: will depend on Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens, right, But
- 29:54Speaker 1: let's for the sake of this discussion, because thinkings a
- 30:00Speaker 1: docpiled offensive Lineman, They've got some guards in. I don't
- 30:03Speaker 1: know that Tyler Steen is worth, like for the Eagles,
- 30:08Speaker 1: a top market extension. But Tyler Steen is going to
- 30:10Speaker 1: be a I guess by the end of the year
- 30:12Speaker 1: it will be like a two year starter and successful
- 30:14Speaker 1: and has played well enough. And we know that around
- 30:16Speaker 1: the league everybody, you know, guards get ridiculous money, no
- 30:20Speaker 1: matter even if they're just average, right, because that's how
- 30:22Speaker 1: free agency works. So why we want to predict this
- 30:25Speaker 1: one is if the Eagles let them walk, we want
- 30:27Speaker 1: to see what kind of contract you would sign and
- 30:29Speaker 1: how that might help them in the compic formula. All right,
- 30:35Speaker 1: So first and by the way, it also helps if
- 30:38Speaker 1: they do want to sign him. I'm just saying I
- 30:41Speaker 1: lean toward it not happening, then happening, but we'll.
- 30:43Speaker 2: See, agreed, It's still a fun exercise and to speculate
- 30:46Speaker 2: a little bit. But yeah, I mean, if you look
- 30:50Speaker 2: at the statistics past blank opportunities, you know he's grown
- 30:54Speaker 2: significantly as his role has grown, his quarterback pressure percentage
- 30:58Speaker 2: as he's grown has actually decreased. And then he didn't
- 31:01Speaker 2: allow a sack in his first two years and he
- 31:04Speaker 2: did in this year. But that's inevitable because it's a
- 31:06Speaker 2: volume statistic. You know you're going it's going to happen.
- 31:11Speaker 2: So I wouldn't look too much into that, but I
- 31:12Speaker 2: do think the quarterback pressure percentage is really interesting that
- 31:15Speaker 2: as his volume increased, the pressure percentage decreased, and I
- 31:18Speaker 2: think that's a really good sign.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Sure, yeah, yeah, I think it's weird how the Eagles
- 31:23Speaker 1: were so terrible at running the ball, but they were
- 31:25Speaker 1: really good in pass protection. Even even Draggons and Diggerson
- 31:28Speaker 1: weren't bad in pass pro.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it was just they all the wheels were falling
- 31:34Speaker 2: off from the season before. It seems there you go specifically,
- 31:39Speaker 2: it's interesting over the Cap has their market specifically for
- 31:42Speaker 2: right guard, so I focused on right guard because that
- 31:47Speaker 2: was what the market had. So, you know, you look
- 31:50Speaker 2: at this this market, you have, you have a pretty
- 31:53Speaker 2: a decent variety. You have the top end, which is
- 31:56Speaker 2: from you know, you could even say the you know,
- 32:00Speaker 2: Kevin Dottson, Will Fries, Jonah Jackson, everyone up that six
- 32:05Speaker 2: point three to take the Linz strum at nine point
- 32:07Speaker 2: one percent, that's that's there's a big fall off, you know,
- 32:11Speaker 2: with the Caesar Rozi Ruiz excuse me, Elijah Vera Tucker, Yeah,
- 32:16Speaker 2: McCary Ingram just a big fall off between that. But
- 32:20Speaker 2: I just think it's interesting to see that placement because
- 32:24Speaker 2: I do think that Steen is going to fall somewhere between,
- 32:28Speaker 2: you know, the McCary contract and the Dotson Jackson Fries contract.
- 32:34Speaker 1: If he hits free agency, absolutely he will.
- 32:36Speaker 2: But even that by itself would get him fourteen point
- 32:39Speaker 2: seven to nineteen point six million API.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Right right, which is why I think it's not likely
- 32:44Speaker 1: to I mean, if you're the Eagles and you have
- 32:47Speaker 1: this track record of producing really good interior offensive linemen,
- 32:50Speaker 1: and you're switching your scheme, and you drafted a couple
- 32:53Speaker 1: of athletics like that kid from Georgia, they drafted Michael Morris,
- 32:56Speaker 1: you got Kendall, you think you might be able to
- 32:58Speaker 1: play guard, like why why would you pay between fifteen
- 33:03Speaker 1: and twenty million when you know you've had several guys
- 33:07Speaker 1: play that position before on rookie contracts or one year
- 33:11Speaker 1: deals like m Mackay Beckton right, and have been able
- 33:14Speaker 1: to be fine. It's just to me, a resource allocation
- 33:18Speaker 1: tells me that they're not going to view Tyler Steen
- 33:21Speaker 1: as a fifteen to twenty million dollar guard, but that
- 33:25Speaker 1: some team in free agency will inevitably will.
- 33:27Speaker 2: One hundred percent agreed on both counts. And I think
- 33:30Speaker 2: that's it's a little bit surprising to like think of
- 33:33Speaker 2: Stein as that fifteen to twenty but we've seen free
- 33:35Speaker 2: agency like these numbers, and I think a lot of
- 33:38Speaker 2: it can be explained by this cap inflation, right. I
- 33:41Speaker 2: think inevitably a lot of contracts do get you know,
- 33:46Speaker 2: stretched out because of inflation. And it's more of the
- 33:48Speaker 2: cap inflation than when you think of inflation as you know,
- 33:51Speaker 2: the actual dollar inflation. But it's as the cap grows,
- 33:55Speaker 2: the percentage kind of remains the same.
- 33:57Speaker 3: And I think this is a perfect example.
- 34:00Speaker 2: I keep thinking back to the Milton Williams contract where
- 34:03Speaker 2: we talked about it. It was I projected it much lower,
- 34:07Speaker 2: and because the cap grew at such a rate that
- 34:10Speaker 2: year that it wouldn't adjust to the market. And so
- 34:13Speaker 2: it looks weird seeing Steen, you know, based on his
- 34:16Speaker 2: performance last year, and he performed similarly this year at
- 34:20Speaker 2: that fifteen to twenty million.
- 34:21Speaker 3: But I mean that is what the market dictates, right.
- 34:24Speaker 1: And by the way, let's just for a fun exercise,
- 34:26Speaker 1: let's say we're wrong about Steve, you know, Let's say
- 34:29Speaker 1: people are on the don't think he's all that good.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Let's say he has a down year and instead of
- 34:34Speaker 1: getting that four and a half percent, he gets to
- 34:37Speaker 1: six percent, he gets like two to four percent. Okay,
- 34:41Speaker 1: that's still going to be eight to ten million. And again,
- 34:46Speaker 1: when you have had success with guys on rookie, whether
- 34:48Speaker 1: it's Drew Kendall or Michael Morris, where you draft a
- 34:51Speaker 1: garden the second round next year, which possible, right, You're
- 34:54Speaker 1: talking about a guy then making in year one like
- 34:57Speaker 1: a couple of million, then year two it's like a
- 34:59Speaker 1: couple hundred, you know, Like it's it's so much cheaper
- 35:03Speaker 1: to have a rookie at that plat, especially if you
- 35:07Speaker 1: think he can play that spot. So I think he'd
- 35:10Speaker 1: have to play like Isaac Samalu, peak sam Alu or
- 35:14Speaker 1: peak Brandon Brooks to really be able to keep get
- 35:17Speaker 1: himself an extension.
- 35:17Speaker 3: Here, I totally agree.
- 35:19Speaker 2: I think that you said it perfectly and I think
- 35:22Speaker 2: that's probably their strategy.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Right, especially when you know you can get draft pick help,
- 35:27Speaker 1: cop pick help from that. So good stuff, Sam Man,
- 35:31Speaker 1: that's the Eagles after completing this series, right. Hey, Philly fans,
- 35:35Speaker 1: game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic, long lines, We've
- 35:39Speaker 1: all been there, But when it comes to your cannabis,
- 35:42Speaker 1: Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is the dispensary for

- 36:26Speaker 1: Cammed inn Apothecary top quality cannabis, great prices, and an
- 36:30Speaker 1: experience made for Philly fans twenty one and up. I
- 36:34Speaker 1: think the one thing that we can say for sure
- 36:37Speaker 1: is that there are going to be some really really
- 36:39Speaker 1: tough decisions for this team to make. Yeah, going, you know,
- 36:43Speaker 1: every team has to do it. You know that we
- 36:46Speaker 1: see with the Chiefs, they're they're constantly getting rid of
- 36:48Speaker 1: you know, they get rid of Tyreek Hill, they get
- 36:50Speaker 1: rid of their left guard Joe Tuney, you know, they
- 36:52Speaker 1: got rid of they couldn't resign Lagerius sneed. You know,
- 36:55Speaker 1: we see that the Packers couldn't even keep their left
- 36:58Speaker 1: tackle Oversheid Walker. And it's not like he amazing, right,
- 37:01Speaker 1: he just you know, they couldn't get the leak Willis
- 37:03Speaker 1: and all that. So, but the Eagles have had because
- 37:06Speaker 1: of how they've done contracts, they've been able to stockpile
- 37:09Speaker 1: and how they collect draft picks, They've been able to
- 37:11Speaker 1: stockpile some really good talent.
- 37:12Speaker 3: And it's just it's hard to pay everybody, it really is.
- 37:16Speaker 1: We like to joke about how the Eagles can because
- 37:18Speaker 1: they manipulate the cap, but even that catches up to
- 37:21Speaker 1: them a little bit.
- 37:21Speaker 3: So and a minute, will it definitely will So yeah.
- 37:25Speaker 1: I mean look at that. I mean I say this
- 37:27Speaker 1: if it's new. The Eagles have made tough decisions already.
- 37:29Speaker 1: We talked about Milton Williams, talked about Jalen Phillips. They
- 37:32Speaker 1: got rid of has On Reddick because they didn't want
- 37:34Speaker 1: to pay him the money from a couple of years ago.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Who else there? I'm sure that there's somebody who's will
- 37:39Speaker 1: oh Sam Alu, Yeah, really well, they couldn't re sign him.
- 37:43Speaker 1: I mean it's just the nature of the business. But
- 37:47Speaker 1: that's how it coast and the Eveles have a lot
- 37:48Speaker 1: of talented players. Definitely, all right, great stuff, Sam, I
- 37:52Speaker 1: really appreciate it. We have to figure out what our
- 37:55Speaker 1: next step with Inside the Data is. I mean, we've
- 37:57Speaker 1: got a lot of things, a lot of ground that
- 37:58Speaker 1: we can cover over the next seven weeks.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Right, yeah, looking forward to it.
- 38:02Speaker 1: All right, cool, that's gonna do it for Inside the
