- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Malay with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Hi everyone! Last time we counted eleven to fifteen. Lucas: Right. Let's quickly review: sebelas, dua belas, tiga belas, empat belas, lima belas. Luna: I've been practicing those at the market. Sebelas, dua belas, tiga belas, empat belas, lima belas. Lucas: Nice! Now we're going to learn sixteen to twenty. The pattern is similar — you take the base number and add 'belas' for eleven to nineteen. Luna: Oh, so sixteen would be 'enam belas'? Lucas: Exactly. Enam belas. Repeat after me: enam belas. Luna: Enam belas. Lucas: Seventeen is tujuh belas. Luna: Tujuh belas. Lucas: Eighteen is lapan belas. Luna: Lapan belas. That one's easy — lapan. Lucas: Nineteen is sembilan belas. Luna: Sembilan belas. Sembilan — that's nine. Lucas: Right. And twenty is a new one: dua puluh. 'Dua' means two, 'puluh' means ten — so literally 'two tens'. Luna: Dua puluh. Like twenty in English. Lucas: Let's practice all five: enam belas, tujuh belas, lapan belas, sembilan belas, dua puluh. Luna: Enam belas, tujuh belas, lapan belas, sembilan belas, dua puluh. Lucas: Great. Luna: Saya mahu enam belas oren. Lucas: Excellent. Let's also do a simple count from one to twenty. Ready? Luna: Ready. Satu, dua, tiga, empat, lima, enam, tujuh, lapan, sembilan, sepuluh. Lucas: Then sebelas, dua belas, tiga belas, empat belas, lima belas. Luna: Then enam belas, tujuh belas, lapan belas, sembilan belas, dua puluh. Ah, I did it! Lucas: You did.
