- 1:33Speaker 4: That's usually usually goes.
- 1:36Speaker 3: You want to make it interesting. You can gamble feel free,
- 1:39Speaker 3: but who knows how it's gamble.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Campbell's possible.
- 1:44Speaker 3: I gamble this giant cinnamon roll that Stevie.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Oh, there you go.

- 1:55Speaker 5: Is a gambles baked goods from tater Cakes in Lockbart,
- 1:59Speaker 5: New York.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Tell them.
- 2:01Speaker 3: It's huge.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Campbell with diabetes.
- 2:04Speaker 3: He's like very massive. It's scared fast, scared. Okay, So, uh,
- 2:12Speaker 3: I guess what I'm gonna ask because it's something we've
- 2:15Speaker 3: been talking about recently and it's very much on my
- 2:19Speaker 3: What have you been listening to lately? We're gonna start
- 2:21Speaker 3: with He's a gamer and a storyteller. Used to meet
- 2:23Speaker 3: my youngest friend. Now he's just a hit it. He's
- 2:26Speaker 3: a dog.
- 2:40Speaker 5: Ye.
- 2:42Speaker 3: I genuinely tried beating you to the button. Tried to
- 2:48Speaker 3: the button, but he's too fast. He was ready for me, oggie.
- 2:53Speaker 3: What is your favorite thing you've been listening to lately?
- 2:55Speaker 1: Well?
- 2:56Speaker 6: As always, one of my favorite artists out there musical
- 3:02Speaker 6: artists is Gorillas, and they just came out with a
- 3:06Speaker 6: new album, unfortunately.
- 3:07Speaker 4: The name of which slipped my mind.
- 3:11Speaker 6: But yeah, they've always I've always been a big fan
- 3:14Speaker 6: of them since Wow, how long has it been since
- 3:18Speaker 6: I lived in another house in another town, like ten
- 3:22Speaker 6: plus years ago. They helped me, I think I mentioned before,
- 3:25Speaker 6: they helped me get through sometimes it was shortly. I
- 3:28Speaker 6: started listening to him shortly after my father passed. I
- 3:31Speaker 6: was getting right into the workforce from the age of eighteen,
- 3:34Speaker 6: just going right and I would used to just chill
- 3:37Speaker 6: and listen to their songs after work or before work
- 3:40Speaker 6: or whatever, and yeah, it was it was great.
- 3:43Speaker 4: They're a great artist and it's always something new and
- 3:46Speaker 4: that's the best part.
- 3:47Speaker 6: It's never the same sound and that appeals to my
- 3:51Speaker 6: ADHD very well, of.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Course, it does fair enough. And he is a veteran
- 4:00Speaker 3: and a podcaster, and as it turns out, he's also
- 4:03Speaker 3: a veteran podcaster. It's Stevie.
- 4:06Speaker 7: It's Steve.
- 4:07Speaker 3: It's this guy, absolutely one of the weirdest you will
- 4:15Speaker 3: ever meet. What is up, sir?
- 4:19Speaker 5: Not too much, man, you know, like enjoying what's left
- 4:22Speaker 5: of my summer break before going back to school and
- 4:25Speaker 5: trying to get some last minute projects finished.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Yeah, no, that's fair, that's absolutely fair. So the same
- 4:31Speaker 3: question to you, what if anything, is your favorite thing
- 4:34Speaker 3: that you've been listening to lately?
- 4:36Speaker 5: Lately, I've been listening to a bunch of different things
- 4:39Speaker 5: as I've been in the studio with my radio, and
- 4:42Speaker 5: then it's also a record player and a CD player,
- 4:45Speaker 5: so I've been bounced around from everything, but I'm gonna
- 4:47Speaker 5: stick with records right now. I've been listening to air
- 4:50Speaker 5: supply because I got an air supply record, it's been awesome.
- 4:54Speaker 5: And then I have two different what are they Disney
- 4:58Speaker 5: records that we're playing. One day had the doors open,
- 5:01Speaker 5: it was nice outside, sitting out here, and I had
- 5:03Speaker 5: this thing blaring Disney music. It was like classic Disney,
- 5:07Speaker 5: just like hanging outside, like forties and ship.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Just hanging out, silence and the birds.
- 5:11Speaker 6: And then all of a sudden, in the background, you
- 5:12Speaker 6: here Louis Armstrong minding to be like you.
- 5:15Speaker 5: Yeah, it was awesome, So like, yeah, try to get
- 5:19Speaker 5: back to like, let's go back to the original shit. Man,
- 5:21Speaker 5: let's let's bring the fucking vinyls back. We I know
- 5:24Speaker 5: it's already been done and we would be the first
- 5:27Speaker 5: to do it.
- 5:27Speaker 1: I get it.
- 5:28Speaker 5: I tell them Steve Dave would be the very first
- 5:30Speaker 5: to do it. But I would be so down to
- 5:32Speaker 5: do a BFY twow on a vinyl like Episode three
- 5:35Speaker 5: hundred put it on vinyl or some shit. It'd be like,
- 5:37Speaker 5: I'm fucking thirty, how much space kind of vinyl hold?
- 5:43Speaker 4: And would it even come close to todays?
- 5:46Speaker 1: I think nowadays, uh, if you get two vinyls I
- 5:49Speaker 1: can hold. I think it's like an hour now.
- 5:51Speaker 5: The way they do it or maybe it's like hmmm,
- 5:54Speaker 5: I think it was an hour. Maybe it's a half
- 5:55Speaker 5: hour per I can't remember, but they.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Know they you can do it now.
- 5:59Speaker 3: They did like.
- 6:00Speaker 5: Two hours special on them interesting, but I think you
- 6:02Speaker 5: got two of them so that I think it's an hour.
- 6:04Speaker 5: But yeah, listen to vital yo, if you have the
- 6:08Speaker 5: old technology to do.
- 6:09Speaker 3: So, well, yes, sir, I'm your host pants Syrian OGGI
- 6:18Speaker 3: hit it some stones for what up?
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yo?
- 6:38Speaker 3: All right, so let's see what if I been listening
- 6:40Speaker 3: to late. I mean, I've just been going back through
- 6:42Speaker 3: my entire like collection of music now that I've got
- 6:46Speaker 3: a home media server set up. Yeah, basically listen to
- 6:49Speaker 3: whatever I want, whenever I want. And I fucking love it.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Uh no more Spotify choosing what or what all I
- 6:57Speaker 3: get to listen to and like, no, fuck you, I've
- 7:00Speaker 3: I want to listen to what I want to listen
- 7:01Speaker 3: to and without ads because funk I own this music,
- 7:06Speaker 3: God damn it, you know. So so yeah, it's the best.
- 7:10Speaker 3: It's absolutely the best. And I've just been putting together
- 7:12Speaker 3: a massive mood playlist and the one thing and I
- 7:16Speaker 3: think I just re listened to over and over and
- 7:18Speaker 3: over again. And this is so silly, but you know,
- 7:21Speaker 3: the the pinball games for the Amiga, Oh my God,
- 7:25Speaker 3: like Pinball Dreams, Pinball Illusions, Pimball Fantasies. For whatever reason,
- 7:32Speaker 3: these games had the most banging electronic tunes, like I
- 7:37Speaker 3: swear to God, like any these guys, I think, I think.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I think the guy who probably primarily made the stuff
- 7:43Speaker 3: that I liked the most. His name is I think
- 7:45Speaker 3: gol Off, Sorry, ol Off Gunnerson. Maybe I might be
- 7:49Speaker 3: getting that wrong. We'll see where I'm picking up real quick.
- 7:53Speaker 3: It's it's on here somewhere. No oll Off Gustafson. He
- 8:00Speaker 3: did the music for Pinball Dreams the Nightmare Table, which
- 8:04Speaker 3: was my absolute favorite. He did the music for the
- 8:08Speaker 3: intro and the menu theme of Pinball Illusions, which are
- 8:11Speaker 3: both bangers that I can just listen to again and again.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Any Yah, so good, so freaking good. And I just
- 8:18Speaker 3: I just put that menu theme on from Pinball Illusions
- 8:22Speaker 3: and I just sit there and jam and I'm just
- 8:24Speaker 3: like bounce out, I'm like happy, just like just just
- 8:28Speaker 3: reliving kind of the nostalgia of seeing those early three
- 8:33Speaker 3: D shapes just kind of making waves across the screen. Like, Wow,
- 8:38Speaker 3: this is high end, this is technology woo. But the
- 8:44Speaker 3: music is banging. It still is banging to this day,
- 8:47Speaker 3: and I just absolutely love that. Shit.
- 8:49Speaker 1: That's fair, man, I get it.
- 8:50Speaker 5: Like we used to play the Pinball on freaking windows
- 8:53Speaker 5: back in the day as one of the games of
- 8:54Speaker 5: play and the music wasn't bad.
- 8:56Speaker 1: And I like music from video games, not as much
- 8:58Speaker 1: as you do.
- 8:59Speaker 5: I know, used to play like video game soundtracks while
- 9:01Speaker 5: you were driving around and stuff.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Yep, still do.
- 9:04Speaker 5: But I just want to mention this because again I
- 9:06Speaker 5: talked about this like two weeks ago back in the
- 9:08Speaker 5: day when Warcraft two came out on disc CD, because
- 9:11Speaker 5: they are on CDs back then for the computer, you
- 9:14Speaker 5: can put it into a CD player and actually play
- 9:17Speaker 5: the twelve or twenty four tracks that were on.
- 9:19Speaker 1: There is songs.
- 9:20Speaker 5: Every level had a song, and then it was a
- 9:22Speaker 5: hidden one called the Paladin Rap and it was an
- 9:24Speaker 5: actual vocal over and it's a guy in the Paladin
- 9:27Speaker 5: voice rapping and shit, it was awesome. So yeah, check
- 9:31Speaker 5: out your video game old CDs too, if you have
- 9:33Speaker 5: the means with old technology.
- 9:35Speaker 6: Yeah, if you even have a CD player in the yeah,
- 9:38Speaker 6: if that exists in or around your computer.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Yeah, he's all right, Well should we get to the games.
- 9:45Speaker 3: All right, We're gonna play our first game called Like
- 9:47Speaker 3: Share Block. I've got three new stories here on All
- 9:50Speaker 3: our players have to do is figure out which one
- 9:52Speaker 3: I would like, which one I would share, and which
- 9:54Speaker 3: one I would block on social media. Who won the
- 9:57Speaker 3: last episode me? It was August. So Steve, you're gonna
- 10:00Speaker 3: get the first choice of these. And there is only
- 10:03Speaker 3: one correct combination. By the way, if you happen to
- 10:05Speaker 3: be listening for the first time, there is one story
- 10:07Speaker 3: that has a like, one that has a share, of
- 10:09Speaker 3: one that has a block. So you need to figure
- 10:11Speaker 3: out the correct combination to win the game. Closest player
- 10:14Speaker 3: to it wins if neither of them guesses it exactly right.
- 10:17Speaker 3: And let's get started with our first story. Japanese teacher
- 10:21Speaker 3: loses his job because he is also a convenience store clerk.
- 10:25Speaker 3: That now, from an American perspective, this seems crazy, like
- 10:35Speaker 3: why why would you punish a clerk?
- 10:38Speaker 4: Well, for us, it's pretty common to have more than
- 10:41Speaker 4: one job.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Yeah, for us, it's it's actually most people here because
- 10:45Speaker 3: America sucks, are forced to work two jobs to make ends. Meet.
- 10:50Speaker 3: That's just the way it is, you know, because America sucks.
- 10:54Speaker 3: I mean, just point blank. A lot of us have
- 10:57Speaker 3: to work multiple jobs. So this seems insane. But in
- 11:01Speaker 3: Japan things are different. Attitudes are slowly changing. But many
- 11:06Speaker 3: employment contracts have a clause that prohibits employees from working
- 11:10Speaker 3: side jobs. It's not a non compete or anything like that.
- 11:14Speaker 3: It's simply common for Japanese employers to completely prohibit their
- 11:18Speaker 3: employees from earning money from other sources like a lot
- 11:23Speaker 3: of winnings and things like that. Nowithstanding, Okay. In Japan's
- 11:30Speaker 3: high pressure work culture, you're supposed to be completely dedicated
- 11:34Speaker 3: to your job. Having a side gig is seen.
- 11:40Speaker 4: As a time your sells before you work. Guys, it's
- 11:42Speaker 4: not healthy.
- 11:43Speaker 3: That diminishes the effort that you're going to put into
- 11:46Speaker 3: your regular job. And yeah, as such, this unfortunate teacher
- 11:52Speaker 3: had committed the unforgivable sin of not saying at home
- 11:55Speaker 3: thinking about his classes while off work. Somebody, somebody blew
- 12:01Speaker 3: him in. He was working as a convenience store clerk
- 12:03Speaker 3: in like the next town over, oh my, and somebody
- 12:07Speaker 3: contacted the principle and told on him the principal went
- 12:11Speaker 3: to the convenience store and saw the teacher working there
- 12:14Speaker 3: and that was it. From out of the job.
- 12:18Speaker 1: That's messed up. It's a different way of repressing people,
- 12:22Speaker 1: so you can't move up.
- 12:24Speaker 4: Yeah, well they have, it's just a different way of
- 12:26Speaker 4: doing it.
- 12:26Speaker 6: I heard about like they have like programs where there's
- 12:30Speaker 6: people that helped them quit their job. Like it's that
- 12:34Speaker 6: big of a pressure on them to just dedicate the
- 12:37Speaker 6: rest of your life to whatever businesses that they literally
- 12:39Speaker 6: have to teach them how to quit your job.
- 12:42Speaker 1: It's freaking nuts.
- 12:44Speaker 3: And here's the real shitty part, Like this is this
- 12:47Speaker 3: is this is the part that makes me angry. So
- 12:50Speaker 3: a couple of years ago, the teacher had been re
- 12:54Speaker 3: hired by his school, and this is a Japanese practice
- 12:58Speaker 3: that involves essentially hiring employees who reach retirement age and
- 13:04Speaker 3: then immediately hiring them back to do the same job
- 13:07Speaker 3: at a significant lower salary because they're now a new employee.
- 13:12Speaker 3: That dirty is So that is so unbelievably dirty. And
- 13:19Speaker 3: on top of that, like obviously with his pay so
- 13:21Speaker 3: much lower, he was having difficulty making the rent and whatnot.
- 13:26Speaker 3: So what does he do? He goes out and gets
- 13:28Speaker 3: a second job so he can still do the same
- 13:31Speaker 3: things he used to be able to do when they
- 13:33Speaker 3: paid him what they were paying him in the first place.
- 13:36Speaker 4: I mean, people, it's shitty here.
- 13:39Speaker 6: But if that, if the businesses did that on the
- 13:41Speaker 6: regular here, those businesses wouln't exist anymore.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Just saying yeah, one way or the other, one way
- 13:46Speaker 4: or another.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Well, pay people a living wageman, all you got to do.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Treat them like humans, paying a living wage. That's all
- 13:59Speaker 3: I gotta do. It's it shouldn't be hard.
- 14:02Speaker 4: If that's too difficult to do, you're the fucking problem.
- 14:06Speaker 8: It's true.
- 14:07Speaker 3: It's exactly right.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I paid these to the same amount as I get paid.
- 14:11Speaker 6: Nothing, absolutely nothing, nothing like once a year.
- 14:17Speaker 3: I think we get thirty Hey, fair is fair, you know,
- 14:20Speaker 3: but hey, you know I'll fair. It's all good because
- 14:24Speaker 3: I know he's getting the same at least.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Yeah, at least I know I'm getting an equal cut.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly nothing.
- 14:31Speaker 4: It's a big five many, a big empty pie.
- 14:35Speaker 8: Weird.
- 14:36Speaker 3: We're not kidding when we say all the money we
- 14:38Speaker 3: get from I don't. I am dying. He don't take anything,
- 14:42Speaker 3: we don't.
- 14:43Speaker 8: We all have our own jobs.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Work for a living, So.
- 14:48Speaker 3: You're welcome.
- 14:50Speaker 1: All the money so far we've got news.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Were talking to fix the equipment that breaks on us.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Why we're doing We were talking should about living. We
- 15:01Speaker 3: ton even don't that. We don't even do it. If
- 15:07Speaker 3: we could, we if the show was pulling down two
- 15:10Speaker 3: hundred k years, if.
- 15:13Speaker 4: We could do that, we would. We would pay a
- 15:15Speaker 4: living rage. We even hire people on and pay them
- 15:17Speaker 4: a living. But I need got to get there first.
- 15:23Speaker 4: It's a good dream, but it's a dream.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Sure the show tell people about throw those numbers. We
- 15:30Speaker 3: would love to be able to do this, but anyway.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Yeah, we would.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Let's move on to our next story. Sorry. Story number two.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Scientist's cat helps him helps him discover a previously unknown virus.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Again what this twice?
- 15:49Speaker 5: Yes?
- 15:50Speaker 1: Different? Not the same virus?
- 15:53Speaker 9: Uh?
- 15:54Speaker 3: The black The black kitty carried dead shrew home and
- 16:01Speaker 3: his scientist owner decided to examine it, and by doing so,
- 16:05Speaker 3: he found a new strain of a potentially dangerous ortho
- 16:09Speaker 3: rio virus if I'm saying that right. And this follows
- 16:15Speaker 3: his first discovery from a couple of years ago. In
- 16:17Speaker 3: an almost identical turn of events, the cat hunted something
- 16:22Speaker 3: brought it home, and the scientist decided to just bring
- 16:27Speaker 3: it to his lab and check it out, and he
- 16:29Speaker 3: found a previously unknown strain of a virus that shouldn't
- 16:32Speaker 3: have been present in the US in the first place.
- 16:34Speaker 3: What therick, This cat deserves an honorary doctorate, honest to God.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:41Speaker 3: So the scientist lives in Gainesville, Florida, Okay, And in
- 16:45Speaker 3: twenty twenty four, the cat proudly carried his catch and
- 16:48Speaker 3: everglades short tailed true in his mouth as cats are
- 16:53Speaker 3: wont to do. The cat, whose name is pepper A,
- 16:57Speaker 3: dropped his prize right on his scientists owns. His last
- 17:00Speaker 3: name is led Niki, dropped right on his doorstep, and
- 17:05Speaker 3: most cat owners would have chucked the dead rodent in
- 17:06Speaker 3: the trash, but led Niki took it to the lab.
- 17:11Speaker 4: I make the means why not?
- 17:12Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah, if you could do it.
- 17:13Speaker 3: It wasn't out of random curiosity. Led Niki is currently
- 17:16Speaker 3: researching the transmission of mule deer pox, a disease that
- 17:20Speaker 3: causes skin lesions in wild deer, and he thought the
- 17:23Speaker 3: shrew might hold some answers as to how the pox
- 17:26Speaker 3: spreads from deer to deer, but instead he found something
- 17:29Speaker 3: completely different. The shrew carried an orthoreo virus. These types
- 17:33Speaker 3: of viruses are able to infect mammals, including deer, bats,
- 17:37Speaker 3: and humans.
- 17:38Speaker 4: It's always bad when it zoonic disease.
- 17:42Speaker 3: But there was something strange about the virus that led
- 17:44Speaker 3: Niki extracted from the shrew, and it turned out it
- 17:47Speaker 3: was a type that was previously unknown to science. No way,
- 17:54Speaker 3: led Niki said. The bottom line is we need to
- 17:56Speaker 3: pay attention to orthoreoviruses and know how to rapidly detect them.
- 18:00Speaker 3: And thanks to uh Leedniki and Pepper, the new strain
- 18:04Speaker 3: of orthoreovirus has received the clinical name of Gainesville shrewd
- 18:09Speaker 3: mammalian orthoreovirus type three strain UF one.
- 18:13Speaker 4: They need it slow down with an acronym for it.
- 18:19Speaker 3: G s M O T three s u F one. No,
- 18:24Speaker 3: it doesn't work, JISSM JIZM jizmot three one.
- 18:31Speaker 4: They could have called it.
- 18:32Speaker 3: It sounds like an alien sport team game, like the
- 18:36Speaker 3: middle of the game Jizma THREEF one.
- 18:40Speaker 4: It causes, it causes. The virus causes encephalitis, meningitis, and
- 18:46Speaker 4: gastronage tertus and children. They called They could have called
- 18:50Speaker 4: it the pepper Box disease.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Yeah, that would have been awesome.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Pepper Box named after.
- 18:54Speaker 4: The cat, Yeah, yeah, dummy.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I don't know if the cat would be honored, were thrilled.
- 19:00Speaker 4: I don't think the cat would care, are you saying people?
- 19:03Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 19:03Speaker 4: I don't think most cats car.
- 19:05Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure that Gary probably doesn't want it after him.
- 19:09Speaker 1: You know, Lou Gary doesn't want a l S.
- 19:12Speaker 4: I mean they call it Gary Garrett's.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Thanks, guys, That's what I remember for now.
- 19:18Speaker 4: First to contract it, you get named after it, period,
- 19:21Speaker 4: how it goes.
- 19:22Speaker 3: I think more people call it a LS than Yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 3: they call.
- 19:25Speaker 1: It not the only asshole might be.
- 19:30Speaker 3: I'm a formal apology to Luke Gary's descendants right now.
- 19:36Speaker 1: The family and friends of This Is Midnight Smoke also
- 19:41Speaker 1: known as Stevie, you.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Know, because they are prominent viewers of our show.
- 19:44Speaker 5: I would just like to officially apologize for referring to
- 19:48Speaker 5: a l S as quote unquote lou Garrig's disease. Good man,
- 19:52Speaker 5: I will henceforth never call a l S quote unquote
- 19:57Speaker 5: Lou Garyk's disease.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Yeah, ever again, ever again.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Yeah, but diseases always have really weird names anyways.
- 20:05Speaker 5: Yeah, you know what, you know what like limph closest
- 20:07Speaker 5: is something with your lymphods no cat scratch fever.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Okay, you gotta have a better name.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that. Yeah, honestly, you know it's that's
- 20:18Speaker 3: that's a much better name.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Yeah, stretch like I've never had, but I'm aware of
- 20:25Speaker 1: it because of the name.
- 20:26Speaker 4: If people were like, will be careful because you'll get
- 20:30Speaker 4: the course, Yeah, my favor them.
- 20:37Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 20:37Speaker 5: If my vers like, you're gonna get lympho in the
- 20:39Speaker 5: closest because you didn't wash your hands after're playing with
- 20:41Speaker 5: the kid.
- 20:42Speaker 1: You got scratched like fifteen times, like huh whatever.
- 20:45Speaker 6: Also putting out your cat's litter box and you won't
- 20:47Speaker 6: get catch fever every day.
- 20:49Speaker 4: Oh, and wash your cuts that they scratch you. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:53Speaker 4: it's fun anyway.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Right, Sorry, Okay, let's move. We're moving on to story
- 20:58Speaker 3: number three. Steps I'm afraid to say we're staying in
- 21:02Speaker 3: the rumbo science.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Oh yes show.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Yeah, world's oldest baby born from thirty year old embryo.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Fattist Daniel Pierce. Thatattist Daniel Pierce was born on July
- 21:16Speaker 3: twenty sixth at the Ripe Old age of thirty years old.
- 21:20Speaker 4: The embryo is thirty years old.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Yeah, technically the baby this is brand new. Technically the
- 21:24Speaker 3: baby's thirty years old and can get away with putting
- 21:27Speaker 3: that on its.
- 21:28Speaker 5: Ripe count day of birth door or the day that
- 21:31Speaker 5: I should birth He's on who you wes?
- 21:33Speaker 3: I mean, really, the law is probably going to say
- 21:36Speaker 3: he's technically only less than a month old at this point.
- 21:41Speaker 3: But the embryo that became Fattius was fertilized in nineteen
- 21:44Speaker 3: ninety four.
- 21:46Speaker 6: Oh oh, actually, yes, that's a fertilized embryo in nineteen
- 21:49Speaker 6: ninety four, but it was put on ice.
- 21:50Speaker 3: It took three decades before his mother decided to allow
- 21:53Speaker 3: another couple to adopt to adopt the embryo, and being
- 21:58Speaker 3: thirty years old, there was no guarantee that this embryo
- 22:02Speaker 3: was still viable. But everything went well, discounted price, and
- 22:06Speaker 3: Thaddeus' parents are the very happy, proud appearents of a
- 22:11Speaker 3: thirty year old newborn.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Ship. That's fascinating. Is it like Benjamin Button disease?
- 22:18Speaker 3: He starts a.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Minute, Do I to apologize to the family.
- 22:23Speaker 6: He did not come out as I apologize to the
- 22:25Speaker 6: family who suffered from Benjamin But.
- 22:31Speaker 1: He's not gonna make the als things seem like I
- 22:33Speaker 1: was joking and I wasn't. But yeah, whatever the Benjamin
- 22:39Speaker 1: button diseases they.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Have that, I don't even know the answer to that question.
- 22:45Speaker 6: I apologize to the family of Brad Pitt suffer Benjamin buttons.
- 22:56Speaker 1: You know what's gonna happen?
- 22:58Speaker 5: What Peak and Rob's gonna listen to a couple of
- 23:01Speaker 5: shows before they always come over there.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I'm just going to be and we're going to be
- 23:05Speaker 1: fun hunger.
- 23:08Speaker 3: So I'm just gonna briefly describe how this happened. So
- 23:11Speaker 3: back in nineteen ninety four, a woman was trying to
- 23:15Speaker 3: conceive with her now ex husband. They'd been trying to
- 23:19Speaker 3: have a baby for six years without success, so they
- 23:21Speaker 3: turned to in vitro fertilization.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Fair, no, that makes sense.
- 23:25Speaker 3: So, together with her ex husband, she produced four viable embryos.
- 23:30Speaker 3: One of them was implanted into her uterus, and nine
- 23:32Speaker 3: months later she gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
- 23:35Speaker 3: The other three embryos were stored in ice for future use,
- 23:38Speaker 3: and that opportunity never came. Oh, so they were just
- 23:43Speaker 3: left in storage. She won custody of the three frozen
- 23:47Speaker 3: embryos in her divorce from her ex husband, and she
- 23:52Speaker 3: decided to keep them in storage. They cost It costs
- 23:55Speaker 3: roughly one thousand dollars per year to do so, so
- 24:00Speaker 3: she has spent thirty thousand dollars keeping these on ice,
- 24:05Speaker 3: and she hoped that eventually she could use them herself
- 24:07Speaker 3: with another partner. But years went on the embryos remained frozen.
- 24:11Speaker 3: She hit menopause and the option of having another child disappeared.
- 24:15Speaker 3: But she's a devout Christian, so she didn't want to
- 24:17Speaker 3: dispose of them, so she started exploring her other options
- 24:20Speaker 3: and she found out about embryo adoption agencies. This is
- 24:26Speaker 3: a real thing. They act as middlemen to bring together
- 24:29Speaker 3: an embryo donor and a recipient and both get a
- 24:31Speaker 3: say who gets the embryo when and how oh that's
- 24:35Speaker 3: so cool. A lot of the agencies wouldn't accept her
- 24:39Speaker 3: embryos because of their age, but finally she found one
- 24:42Speaker 3: program which took the embryos on their adoption list in
- 24:45Speaker 3: twenty twenty two, and eventually it put them in contact
- 24:50Speaker 3: with a couple who'd been trying to have a baby
- 24:52Speaker 3: for seven years themselves, and they decided to try adopting
- 24:56Speaker 3: the embryo, even her thirty year old ones, and it worked,
- 25:01Speaker 3: and it worked, and they have a beautiful baby boy
- 25:03Speaker 3: as a result of it.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Science made humans.
- 25:07Speaker 6: Science made humans, freshly grown, fresh to grown technically, technically
- 25:14Speaker 6: from a technical biology, creative.
- 25:17Speaker 5: And all I can see is that agencies like, listen,
- 25:20Speaker 5: we got to push this thirty five year old embryos.
- 25:22Speaker 11: Guys.
- 25:22Speaker 3: I'm kind of amazed that there are like full ass,
- 25:25Speaker 3: you know what, I like, full lass, thirty year olds
- 25:30Speaker 3: embryos that are represented by agencies like there are embryo agencies,
- 25:37Speaker 3: like there are whole businesses whose job it is to
- 25:40Speaker 3: connect these in vitro fertilized embryos with I'm like, Jesus,
- 25:46Speaker 3: you can literally make anything a job. You can literally
- 25:49Speaker 3: make anything.
- 25:49Speaker 4: A business, anything, literally anything.
- 25:52Speaker 3: It's wild, but there it is.
- 25:54Speaker 4: But yeah, I mean not unheard of.
- 25:56Speaker 6: Also, I guess the child would not be thirty years
- 26:00Speaker 6: old because even though the embryo, and though it was
- 26:04Speaker 6: fertilized and put on ice and basically the development was
- 26:08Speaker 6: essentially halted, so it would still be basically starting from
- 26:13Speaker 6: zero turning into an embryo, turning into a fetus then
- 26:16Speaker 6: developing from there.
- 26:17Speaker 3: You know, I don't know if I was this family,
- 26:20Speaker 3: his first birthday party would have a big thirty one?
- 26:26Speaker 3: Why not will He's not gonna remember him, but everybody
- 26:29Speaker 3: else never. You're never gonna get this opportunity in life
- 26:33Speaker 3: ever again. You'll be the only parents in the whole
- 26:36Speaker 3: world who can say it's our baby son thirty first.
- 26:39Speaker 6: The only opportunity you'll get is when he turns thirty one,
- 26:43Speaker 6: thirty and he turned it or thirty. Yeah, it turns
- 26:45Speaker 6: thirty and you make it sixty one. Be wild a
- 26:50Speaker 6: sixty year old thirty year old?
- 26:52Speaker 3: All right? Those there our three new stories. Japanese teacher
- 26:54Speaker 3: loses his job because he's also a convenience store clerk,
- 26:57Speaker 3: Scientist cat helps him discover previously unknown virus again, and
- 27:02Speaker 3: world's oldest baby born from thirty thirty year old embryo. Stevie,
- 27:07Speaker 3: It is on you to tell me which one of
- 27:09Speaker 3: these I liked, which one I shared, and which one
- 27:11Speaker 3: I blocked.
- 27:12Speaker 1: All right, I'm going to say.
- 27:16Speaker 5: You blocked the Japanese teacher losing his job because that's
- 27:20Speaker 5: sad as fuck, and you don't like.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Sad stuff, then.
- 27:27Speaker 5: I'm gonna say that you shared the cat helping with
- 27:32Speaker 5: the viruses, because we wouldn't have known about this, about
- 27:34Speaker 5: this cat. Now we got to start listening to the
- 27:36Speaker 5: cats more. This whole time, they can listen to us,
- 27:38Speaker 5: they just can't speak to us, man, because they know
- 27:40Speaker 5: the vocal course, they know what we're saying and shit.
- 27:43Speaker 5: So I think you should share that because that information
- 27:46Speaker 5: needs to be out there. And then you just like
- 27:49Speaker 5: that somebody walked into this closet, dusted off those embryos
- 27:52Speaker 5: and tried to pawn them off on some couple because
- 27:55Speaker 5: it's kind of cool because the science is making humans.
- 27:58Speaker 4: No, I was like, pot off. They weren't able to
- 28:01Speaker 4: have a child for seven years.
- 28:03Speaker 3: And yeah lately the lady who owned them was trying
- 28:07Speaker 3: to have them herself, but she can not her.
- 28:09Speaker 5: But I'm saying that agency, oh yeah, yeah, that's their job.
- 28:12Speaker 5: Was like, Yo, get rid of these old ones, man,
- 28:13Speaker 5: we gotta get rid of these old ones.
- 28:15Speaker 1: They're like half price, all right.
- 28:18Speaker 3: So Stevie says, discount block the teacher losing his job,
- 28:23Speaker 3: share the cat discovering the virus, and like the world's
- 28:26Speaker 3: oldest baby. Yeah, ogie, you can keep one of those
- 28:30Speaker 3: the same, but you have to swap the other two
- 28:31Speaker 3: or you can go entirely your own way.
- 28:33Speaker 4: Well, naturally, Steve stole mind.
- 28:35Speaker 6: So sorry, So to start block the Japanese man losing
- 28:40Speaker 6: his job of some bullshit uh work ethic thing going on.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Honestly, I feel for the guy. So instead of sharing
- 28:52Speaker 4: the cat.
- 28:53Speaker 6: I'll say you liked it because it's uh, it's basically
- 28:55Speaker 6: a cat helping helping us further along are our science. Yeah, yeah,
- 29:01Speaker 6: virology is a knowledge of the world, and virology is
- 29:04Speaker 6: very important because knowing when zoonic diseases sweep through is
- 29:07Speaker 6: very important.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Because you never know what's going to happen. We don't
- 29:09Speaker 4: want we just had a pandemic.
- 29:12Speaker 6: Guys, we don't want another one, and that job is
- 29:14Speaker 6: pretty important. So you know, thumbs up to that cat
- 29:17Speaker 6: for helping us out. And then of course, uh, sharing
- 29:20Speaker 6: the feel good story of a mother who didn't want
- 29:23Speaker 6: to lose her embryos, who managed to give a family
- 29:26Speaker 6: who could not make one of their own an opportunity
- 29:29Speaker 6: to do so, and do so in a very kind
- 29:31Speaker 6: of really awesome way. Because if the if we get
- 29:36Speaker 6: the embryos the last thirty years, how long we can
- 29:38Speaker 6: actually get them the last and that way there will
- 29:41Speaker 6: help in case there's ever a case of a loss
- 29:43Speaker 6: of massive loss in population, or if there's a case
- 29:46Speaker 6: where people can't have kids normally anymore.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, no, I think you're right on the money.
- 29:52Speaker 3: In fact, you should thank Stevie for stealing yours because
- 29:54Speaker 3: he was wrong and you are right. Oh shoot, No,
- 29:59Speaker 3: I absolutely blocked the Japanese teacher losing his job. It
- 30:02Speaker 3: is a shitty story inside out, first from what the
- 30:06Speaker 3: school did to him in the first place, and second
- 30:08Speaker 3: for firing and for taking a second job because they
- 30:10Speaker 3: weren't paying them what they should have been. That is
- 30:14Speaker 3: fucking dirty shit. And I don't care what culture you're from.
- 30:18Speaker 3: That's just wrong.
- 30:19Speaker 4: That's not reputable.
- 30:21Speaker 3: No, I tell you that much. No, there's there's nothing.
- 30:23Speaker 4: That's what you were going for.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I love the Japanese culture, I really do,
- 30:29Speaker 3: a lot of my favoritely came from Japan, really did.
- 30:32Speaker 3: But that was a just intrinsically shitty thing to do.
- 30:36Speaker 4: There were cultures as bad as ours.
- 30:38Speaker 3: Yeah, if that was just in a different way. Story
- 30:42Speaker 3: number two, I absolutely liked the cat discovering the previously virus.
- 30:46Speaker 3: I thought this was very funny. And I love the
- 30:48Speaker 3: idea of this cat going out hunting and just bringing
- 30:50Speaker 3: scientific samples back like he's an actual lab assistant, you know,
- 30:54Speaker 3: like I'll go get that thing for your boss just
- 30:57Speaker 3: runs out of hunts down that this one tastes funny.
- 31:01Speaker 3: I think you're gonna like this one, yea, And he
- 31:02Speaker 3: just to his story. Yeah, I smelled something funky on
- 31:07Speaker 3: this one. I think there might be something going on.
- 31:12Speaker 4: The best coworker you could have ever asked for it,
- 31:14Speaker 4: they'll do their job.
- 31:15Speaker 3: But but I absolutely shared the world's oldest baby because
- 31:18Speaker 3: that's just fucking funny, Like that's just just like I
- 31:22Speaker 3: love the idea of this baby being thirty from the jump, Like,
- 31:33Speaker 3: and I just think about how much fun the family
- 31:35Speaker 3: could have over the years by tacking thirty years on
- 31:37Speaker 3: to his age. You won't understand. But yeah, no, that
- 31:46Speaker 3: that story tickled me, pink, So I absolutely shared that one.
- 31:49Speaker 3: So that is one episode point Togie. He starts off
- 31:52Speaker 3: in the lead, But game two is gonna be where
- 31:55Speaker 3: two points and we're gonna play that game right after this.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Welcome to the mail bag, Bounce bound mail Bag, Bound
- 32:13Speaker 3: Bound mail bag, getting them litters. Yeah, we got some
- 32:19Speaker 3: comments to go over. Uh, let's do this one from
- 32:22Speaker 3: show two sixty eight. Looks like we have a couple
- 32:25Speaker 3: of comments. I think, yeah, that's from It's from a
- 32:28Speaker 3: bit so I'm not sure if he'll ever see this,
- 32:30Speaker 3: but I'm totally with again the rules game, Yep, this
- 32:32Speaker 3: is the one I was thinking of. Aaron has thrown
- 32:34Speaker 3: you guys so many curve balls with this game already,
- 32:36Speaker 3: like the Tic Tacto. It's just very you get to
- 32:38Speaker 3: do that too, and not gonna lie. I didn't get
- 32:41Speaker 3: the rules right, but I got close. If you left
- 32:42Speaker 3: your hint about numbers, add up, I just didn't think
- 32:45Speaker 3: of blackjack anyway. It was a cool game, don't let
- 32:47Speaker 3: anyone tell you.
- 32:48Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Hell yeah a bit that was awesome.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Helly that was one ed up to thirty one. Yeah,
- 32:54Speaker 1: I think so that was so fun.
- 32:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it didn't didn't end the way any of us wanted.
- 33:01Speaker 7: That.
- 33:02Speaker 3: It is mostly because of me being shitty. So no, yeah, no, no.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Games are hard to listen.
- 33:08Speaker 3: I am not always at my best, and that was
- 33:11Speaker 3: one of those ways that was not I fully admit it,
- 33:15Speaker 3: and I take responsibility.
- 33:16Speaker 1: We all can't be at all of our best all
- 33:18Speaker 1: the time.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I wouldn't be chugging Triple Express. So if I
- 33:22Speaker 4: was always at my best, And tell you what, just.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Not doing anything for me about ghost isn't get one
- 33:26Speaker 1: of those bitches.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just I just feel like rules of the
- 33:30Speaker 3: game had grown to be more frustrating than fun, and
- 33:33Speaker 3: it was it was time to retire it.
- 33:35Speaker 1: You know, we could do it as a special request.
- 33:37Speaker 4: I want to come and they want it.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Sure down if somebody, if someone's special requests, it will
- 33:43Speaker 3: be down to do it again.
- 33:44Speaker 1: But I want all three games to be rules of the.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Whole episode at that point. All right, No, let's move
- 33:53Speaker 3: on to our next comment was from show to eighty
- 33:55Speaker 3: O giebis already and that comment is o MG. When
- 33:59Speaker 3: Steve he said he had never stolen seamen, I had
- 34:02Speaker 3: a vision of him dressed as the hamburglar, called the
- 34:05Speaker 3: cum Burglar, saying gobble gobble, Oh my god, did.
- 34:16Speaker 4: You dress up as Zorro one time? Just replaced the
- 34:22Speaker 4: bandana with that hat.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Oh my god, all white?
- 34:31Speaker 4: Just coming?
- 34:31Speaker 1: Have you on off? I got a mini vacuum cleaner
- 34:34Speaker 1: in my hand.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Oh Jesus, William Man, thank you so much for that
- 34:40Speaker 3: that's feel and now that image is stuck in our
- 34:43Speaker 3: heads for the rest of guys. All right, Well, that's

- 35:12Speaker 9: Are you tired of clickbait stories and the loudest voices
- 35:14Speaker 9: driving discussions and culture and entertainment?
- 35:17Speaker 11: If so, I'm Dylan, I'm Kendall, and I'm Corey, and
- 35:21Speaker 11: we host the podcast from the Middle. We're middle class
- 35:24Speaker 11: guys living in the middle of America, in the middle
- 35:27Speaker 11: chapters of our lives with points of view Somewhere in
- 35:29Speaker 11: the middle.
- 35:30Speaker 10: We take a more reasonable and centrist approach, and our
- 35:33Speaker 10: discussions covering genres like comedy, culture, entertainment, and interviews with
- 35:39Speaker 10: really interesting folks like business owners, comic creators, doctors, news anchors,
- 35:43Speaker 10: New York Times best selling illustrators, professional stand up comics,
- 35:48Speaker 10: and more. We really value a relaxed and conversational podcast,
- 35:53Speaker 10: one that we hope is so fun and laid back
- 35:55Speaker 10: you'll forget you're not actually hanging out with us.
- 35:58Speaker 9: So search from the midpod just like it sounds, or
- 36:02Speaker 9: check us out everywhere you can find podcasts.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Hey man, welcome back. It's time for game two. Game
- 36:18Speaker 3: two is going to be the return of something we
- 36:20Speaker 3: haven't done in a while. Just correlate.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Like this one.
- 36:25Speaker 3: It is the game of hidden connections. I'm going to
- 36:28Speaker 3: give you several clues up to four in a row,
- 36:32Speaker 3: and you just got to figure out what is the
- 36:35Speaker 3: hidden connection between all these clues, what connects these things together.
- 36:39Speaker 3: If you want to take a swing on the first
- 36:40Speaker 3: clue and you get it right, it's worth five points.
- 36:44Speaker 3: If you need two clues but you still get it right,
- 36:46Speaker 3: it's worth three points. Three clues it's worth two points.
- 36:49Speaker 3: But if you need all four clues, it's still worth
- 36:51Speaker 3: one point. Get it wrong or run out of time,
- 36:55Speaker 3: and your opponent will get a chance to steal it
- 36:58Speaker 3: for one point. So there are six possible categories. And
- 37:03Speaker 3: always remember when we do this on our show, it's
- 37:05Speaker 3: always pop culture related.
- 37:08Speaker 1: So is a pop culture related this time.
- 37:10Speaker 3: Yeah, of course, so all of these. All of these
- 37:13Speaker 3: are pop culture related. You're gonna choose from six possible options,
- 37:17Speaker 3: and they are control, alt, delete, insert, home, and end.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Each one hides a different set of four clues. Augie
- 37:24Speaker 3: won the last game, So Steve, you're gonna have the choice.
- 37:26Speaker 3: Do you want to go first or do you want
- 37:28Speaker 3: to make him go first.
- 37:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna go first, Okay, which would you like?
- 37:32Speaker 3: Control, Alt, delete, insert, home, or end.
- 37:35Speaker 1: I'm gonna go off the board and go home.
- 37:39Speaker 4: You're going off the board.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Hey, you're going with home, okay? Ogie. If you have
- 37:44Speaker 3: the music queued up, your music will start after the
- 37:48Speaker 3: first clue for five points, Saints Row next for three points,
- 37:58Speaker 3: Charmed next for two points, RoboCop, what.
- 38:15Speaker 12: I thought I had it first, and I don't I
- 38:17Speaker 12: think no, start it next for one point, Full House, Stevie, Steebee,
- 38:28Speaker 12: buzzes In.
- 38:29Speaker 1: They're all created by the same creator.
- 38:33Speaker 3: No, I'm afraid not. They're not all created by the
- 38:36Speaker 3: same creator. Oggie. Those are all four clues. I'll give
- 38:39Speaker 3: them to you one more time. Saints Row, Charmed, RoboCop,
- 38:43Speaker 3: Full House. If you can give me the connection, you
- 38:47Speaker 3: can steal one point.
- 38:52Speaker 4: I'm trying to think. It's difficult, not a creator, so it's.
- 39:01Speaker 3: Give me something.
- 39:02Speaker 4: They all have the same actor.
- 39:04Speaker 3: No, I'm afraid, not not even close. These have all
- 39:09Speaker 3: been rebooted, but they've all been failed reboots. I would
- 39:16Speaker 3: have given it to you if you'd just gotten reboots,
- 39:18Speaker 3: but they've all had failed reboots. The Saints Throw games
- 39:22Speaker 3: were rebooted with the new Saints Throw, which came out
- 39:24Speaker 3: a couple of years ago and flopped. Oh no idea.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Charmed had a reboot for like four years, but its
- 39:31Speaker 3: viewership dropped off fifty after the first No idea. They
- 39:34Speaker 3: reb that either Robocops reboot they did okay, but nowhere
- 39:39Speaker 3: near as well as the original movies. And full House
- 39:42Speaker 3: is a Fuller House, oh yeah, lasted longer than the others,
- 39:46Speaker 3: but still had its audience drop off by more than
- 39:49Speaker 3: half after the first season. So yeah, yeah, it did
- 39:52Speaker 3: not go as well as the originals in any of
- 39:54Speaker 3: those cases, any.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Of the color purple at first.
- 40:00Speaker 3: That's not a terrible idea for a future thing, so
- 40:04Speaker 3: I'll keep that in mind. Oggie. You may choose from
- 40:07Speaker 3: the remaining ones, control all delete insert or end insert
- 40:12Speaker 3: insert for you all right, Uh, your time starts after
- 40:16Speaker 3: your first clue for five points. Clerk's three for three points,
- 40:25Speaker 3: Dexter original Sin next for two points. I know what
- 40:33Speaker 3: you did last summer?
- 40:37Speaker 8: Sh he where's he not?
- 40:41Speaker 3: Next for one point. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Okay they were.
- 40:54Speaker 3: They all had buzzing with your name. Okay, they all
- 40:58Speaker 3: had jam so they all had what I love that idea.
- 41:07Speaker 3: It's wrong, Damn Jay never appeared by Slayer as far
- 41:11Speaker 3: as I know, Stevie, you can steal one point if
- 41:14Speaker 3: you can. What is the connection between Clerks three, Dexter
- 41:18Speaker 3: original sin, I know what you did last summer and
- 41:20Speaker 3: Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
- 41:25Speaker 1: I don't quite remember. I'm gonna say the main character died.
- 41:30Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 41:31Speaker 3: I mean, I mean, I would have to look. You
- 41:37Speaker 3: might have just stolen an answer, honestly, because now I
- 41:41Speaker 3: have to look.
- 41:43Speaker 1: They all lived.
- 41:44Speaker 3: That's not that's not what I had down. But now
- 41:47Speaker 3: that I think about it, that might actually be correct.
- 41:50Speaker 3: I'm just gonna take a quick look and see if
- 41:55Speaker 3: this give me, just give me just a second to look.
- 42:00Speaker 3: I'm a synopsis of what I'm looking at here.
- 42:06Speaker 1: So, Okie, what are you doing the first weekend.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Okay, No, that is wrong.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Okay, cool, they.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Got the main character and I Know What you did
- 42:18Speaker 3: last Summer survives in the end. If she had died,
- 42:25Speaker 3: I would have been like, the.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Main character wasn't a killer who got hit by the car?
- 42:28Speaker 3: No?
- 42:29Speaker 1: Oh fuck, I was looking at.
- 42:30Speaker 3: The ye guys. Guy. So Clerk's three Dexter Original Sin,
- 42:38Speaker 3: I Know What You Did last Summer, Buffy the Vampire
- 42:40Speaker 3: Slayer all features Sarah Michelle Geller.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Oh I didn't know.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Yeah, Sarah Michelle Geller is part of the audition scene
- 42:51Speaker 3: in Clerk's three. I forgot she has she has an
- 42:55Speaker 3: important role. She has an important role in both Dexter
- 42:58Speaker 3: Original Sin and I Know What You Did Last Summer
- 43:00Speaker 3: and she obviously is the So yeah, the answer with
- 43:05Speaker 3: Sarah Michelle Geller no points either way yet.
- 43:08Speaker 1: So still that's okay.
- 43:11Speaker 3: That's okay. You can still get the others. Stevie, you're next.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Your choices are control all, delete or end. Let's go
- 43:18Speaker 3: with delete delete Ready, Uh your first clue for five
- 43:24Speaker 3: points Wednesday, Oh, next for three points, Bridgerton, Bridgerton next
- 43:40Speaker 3: for two points, squid Game.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Everybody's probably mad. Skip that one.
- 43:55Speaker 3: For one point Stranger Things.
- 44:04Speaker 5: I guess these are all like works that was super
- 44:09Speaker 5: successful right away posted the other one the opposite side.
- 44:14Speaker 3: No, sadly, that's not correct. Aggie is looking very pensive.
- 44:19Speaker 3: But Age, you can st steal it if you can
- 44:21Speaker 3: tell me what do Wednesday, Bridgerton, Squid Game, and Stranger
- 44:26Speaker 3: Things all have in common?
- 44:36Speaker 4: Fuck, dude, they all have uh old, I was gonna
- 44:47Speaker 4: say old school music. No, they all have a really
- 44:52Speaker 4: good soundtrack.
- 44:54Speaker 3: That might be correct, but that's not at all we're
- 44:57Speaker 3: looking for.
- 44:57Speaker 4: That's subjective.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Guys, these are well and I guess it depends on
- 45:01Speaker 3: whether you're a subscriber or not. These are all Netflix
- 45:04Speaker 3: original series. All of them are Netflix original shows. I
- 45:10Speaker 3: figured strange. I figured Stranger Things would give it away, honestly,
- 45:13Speaker 3: but not apparently not.
- 45:16Speaker 4: A female protagonist or you know, I don't know if
- 45:18Speaker 4: the other ones are female.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Squid Game as a male protagonist anyway, Still no points
- 45:25Speaker 3: to either side, Stevie R. Sorry, Augie, you can choose control.
- 45:29Speaker 4: Alt or end end me please end?
- 45:32Speaker 3: Okay, all right, still a chance for either of you
- 45:35Speaker 3: to take the lead, but this one, all right? Your
- 45:38Speaker 3: first clue for five points? Watchdogs next for three points,
- 45:45Speaker 3: Ferris Bueller's day off for two points, home alone, one
- 46:00Speaker 3: more time for one point. The bear that did not help, Okay,
- 46:11Speaker 3: still got some time.
- 46:13Speaker 4: I could make a joke and just say, oh, the
- 46:15Speaker 4: thing that women prefer over men. But I think, I
- 46:19Speaker 4: think quickly, Oggie, I think that women prefer over men.
- 46:26Speaker 3: They prefer having watchdogs, they prefer watching for day off,
- 46:30Speaker 3: they prefer being home alone and they.
- 46:36Speaker 4: Wasn't that a trend happening like two months?
- 46:38Speaker 3: And I love that answer so much, Oggie, I can't
- 46:40Speaker 3: even tell you it is wrong, but I doing good.
- 46:44Speaker 3: I do that quite a lot. Stevie, you conceal it
- 46:47Speaker 3: if you can tell me, what do you watch dogs?
- 46:50Speaker 3: Fierris Bueller's day Off, home alone and the bear have
- 46:54Speaker 3: in common.
- 46:58Speaker 1: We are so much better is game.
- 47:00Speaker 4: We have partners when other people are playing it.
- 47:03Speaker 3: Besides that, honestly, starting I'm starting to think I've made
- 47:07Speaker 3: this too hard because you guys have genuinely been better
- 47:10Speaker 3: at this in the past. We mu it could be
- 47:14Speaker 3: it could be the strain you take a shot.
- 47:19Speaker 1: I don't know. They all use little miniature broken things.
- 47:24Speaker 1: What the the bear like?
- 47:28Speaker 5: Yeah, it wasn't like the Bear where Liam Neeson took
- 47:30Speaker 5: a bunch of like mini liquor bottles and mid breast
- 47:32Speaker 5: knuckles out of them or some ship and punched the bear.
- 47:35Speaker 4: No, that was I know what you're talking about. It
- 47:38Speaker 4: was a different is.
- 47:39Speaker 6: That the gray?
- 47:40Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 47:42Speaker 3: Okay, No, the Bear is a TV show, very very
- 47:48Speaker 3: very famous one, and I thought the name the Bear
- 47:51Speaker 3: might help give it away. But uh, these are all
- 47:54Speaker 3: August dead on. They're all set in Chicago.
- 47:58Speaker 4: I got at the last possible said that.
- 48:01Speaker 3: They're all They're all set in Chicago.
- 48:04Speaker 8: Are they are?
- 48:05Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 48:06Speaker 3: All right, job, I all got it, just a little
- 48:09Speaker 3: too late. Okay, two sections left. Nobody scored a point. Stevie,
- 48:14Speaker 3: this is your shot. Come on, you gotta do it.
- 48:17Speaker 3: Would you like control or alt?
- 48:18Speaker 1: I'm going to take control this game.
- 48:20Speaker 3: He's taking control. Take control. Okay, all right, Stevie, this
- 48:24Speaker 3: is for you. Uh you get ready to start the music?
- 48:28Speaker 3: Uh your first clue?
- 48:29Speaker 1: Wait five seconds after you? No?
- 48:31Speaker 3: No, no, for five points, little man.
- 48:37Speaker 1: I don't even know what that is.
- 48:38Speaker 3: So next one, please for three points?
- 48:41Speaker 6: The sick.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Oh this is going to be horrible. It's be like
- 48:45Speaker 1: books or something.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Next please for two points Peewee's Adventure.
- 48:50Speaker 5: No book I've ever read Pewey's Big Adventure, of Pewe's Adventure.
- 48:55Speaker 3: I said, Pewe's Adventure.
- 48:56Speaker 1: You know what that is?
- 48:57Speaker 3: Next for one point, The Lebowski. Next, that's the last one.
- 49:08Speaker 4: Nice try though, Steve, Stevie, buzz is in.
- 49:15Speaker 1: They're all trying to get something back.
- 49:18Speaker 3: Oh, I don't know about I can't give that to you.
- 49:23Speaker 3: That's not correct, Agie. I'll give these to you one
- 49:28Speaker 3: more time. Little Man, The Sick, Peewee's Adventure, The Lebowski.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Oh, I'm a fucking idiot. I was wondering why, uh, Augie,
- 49:43Speaker 1: they're all on drugs.
- 49:47Speaker 3: I'm starting to wish I were Stevie. You know what
- 49:49Speaker 3: it is?
- 49:49Speaker 12: Can you say?
- 49:50Speaker 5: They're all movies with the word big removed?
- 49:53Speaker 3: Yeah, Little Big Man, The Big Sick, Peewee's Big Adventure,
- 49:57Speaker 3: the Big Lebowski. You even said, you were like, isn't
- 50:00Speaker 3: shouldn't it be Peey's Big Adventure.
- 50:02Speaker 1: I'm like, yes, yes, right there, and I'm like, oh,
- 50:04Speaker 1: there must be one I don't know.
- 50:06Speaker 3: And then you heard me say the Lebowski and you
- 50:08Speaker 3: were like, nope, I didn't think you said I didn't
- 50:13Speaker 3: think about that either. Okay, this is the last chance
- 50:17Speaker 3: anybody to earn any points in Augie, it's all yours.
- 50:21Speaker 3: You get the alt category. If you get any of
- 50:25Speaker 3: these right, even the last one point, you win the game.
- 50:30Speaker 3: If not, Stevie will have the last chance at all
- 50:32Speaker 3: to win this game. And then neither of you get
- 50:35Speaker 3: it the whole game out.
- 50:36Speaker 5: Could you imagine like cats and it's like nobody scores
- 50:41Speaker 5: any point.
- 50:44Speaker 1: I don't like countdown. We can't spell or do maths. Sorry,
- 50:47Speaker 1: because this is.
- 50:48Speaker 3: Genuinely one of my favorite episodes. Your first clue for
- 50:53Speaker 3: five points, they are billions. Next for three points, its
- 51:00Speaker 3: state of decay, Aggie Oggi buzzes in immediately.
- 51:05Speaker 4: They're all zombie survival games.
- 51:07Speaker 3: I'll give that to you. There's zombie video games. He
- 51:09Speaker 3: gets three points and wins the game.
- 51:11Speaker 1: God, were you just holding back for the other four?
- 51:14Speaker 3: No?
- 51:14Speaker 4: Because I have both of those games.
- 51:17Speaker 3: The remaining clues would have been left for dead, and
- 51:23Speaker 3: zombie video Games is all I needed. But with that answer,
- 51:26Speaker 3: Augie wins the game and gets two episode points.
- 51:29Speaker 1: And you guys thought nobody was going to score points.
- 51:33Speaker 3: Sweating sweating balls.
- 51:35Speaker 4: Holy the challenging the Chicago one. I just got way
- 51:40Speaker 4: too late.
- 51:40Speaker 3: Yeah, you got the one, you got the big one again,
- 51:43Speaker 3: it was just too little, too late.
- 51:45Speaker 4: I would hit those five extra seconds.
- 51:51Speaker 3: Cheap for me. Now, tie, all right, Augie's had three
- 51:58Speaker 3: points to zero, but Stevie still has a chance, has
- 52:00Speaker 3: to claim a tie. We're gonna play game three for
- 52:02Speaker 3: three episode points right after this.

- 53:25Speaker 3: everything you want, and it's audible.
- 53:26Speaker 7: You know.
- 53:26Speaker 3: It's a game we can play over an audio medium
- 53:28Speaker 3: without having any trouble, so it's perfect. So I've got
- 53:32Speaker 3: three items here, usually based around a theme or something
- 53:35Speaker 3: that's been brought up to some point during the episode.
- 53:37Speaker 3: I won't say what it is here, but you'll find
- 53:40Speaker 3: out pretty quickly. No, No, no doing that again, science,
- 53:48Speaker 3: not again, not again. Okay, So our players are going
- 53:52Speaker 3: to take turns bidding and rebidding and so on and
- 53:55Speaker 3: so forth until I feel one of them has gotten
- 53:57Speaker 3: close enough to where I can call final bit. I
- 54:00Speaker 3: will also call final bids if one of them has
- 54:02Speaker 3: just gone over, which happens a lot, which happens to pheromones.
- 54:09Speaker 3: Definitely planting happens. So, uh, we're time. We're Stevie lost
- 54:15Speaker 3: the last game. You have the choice who do you
- 54:16Speaker 3: want to make bid first?
- 54:19Speaker 1: I'm going to bid first.
- 54:20Speaker 3: Okay, fair enough. In that case, let's get right to it.
- 54:23Speaker 5: Uh.
- 54:24Speaker 3: Our first item up for bids is this unique collectible,
- 54:27Speaker 3: a one thousand dollars US bill from the Federal Reserve
- 54:32Speaker 3: Bank of Chicago, Illinois, featuring Grover Cleveland on the front

- 54:53Speaker 3: the cost is correct, Stevie, start us off.
- 54:56Speaker 1: Do we get extra points if we get the same?
- 54:58Speaker 4: Do you think it's Do you think it starts at
- 55:02Speaker 4: a thousand?
- 55:03Speaker 1: I hope so?
- 55:03Speaker 4: Do you think this thousand dollars bill is actually worth
- 55:06Speaker 4: a thousand dollars?
- 55:06Speaker 1: I'm going to start at twenty five hundred.
- 55:08Speaker 13: Twenty five hundred three grand three grand, Stevie, thirty five hundred,
- 55:16Speaker 13: thirty five hundred five grand five grand.
- 55:21Speaker 1: Stevie, seven thousand dollars.

- 55:30Speaker 4: Fucked up, fuck, I will close the gap and go
- 55:35Speaker 4: six thousand.
- 55:36Speaker 3: Six thousand, says Augie completely unnecessarily.
- 55:44Speaker 1: I think I'll stay where I'm at.
- 55:46Speaker 3: I think increase, you stay where you're at. Okay, with
- 55:49Speaker 3: the bids being six thousand and seven thousand, you have
- 55:52Speaker 3: both overbid, so you both get to give me one
- 55:56Speaker 3: bid and one bid alone. Augie, you are first.
- 56:00Speaker 5: Okay, Stevie, fuck her fifty six hundred to give you
- 56:07Speaker 5: one hundred dollars.
- 56:08Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fair than he could have been, but not
- 56:13Speaker 3: terribly fair.
- 56:14Speaker 5: Uh.
- 56:15Speaker 3: The actual final auction price of this one thousand dollars
- 56:19Speaker 3: US bill five ninety nine dollars. Augie over bid by
- 56:24Speaker 3: one dollar, and Stevie wins the listing.
- 56:30Speaker 4: Wow, yeah, I always get with those ninety nines. I
- 56:34Speaker 4: don't know, I don't get it.
- 56:38Speaker 3: Congratulations Stevie. Yeah, this one thousand dollars bill was legit.
- 56:41Speaker 3: I was like, fuly shit, this is they stopped issuing
- 56:45Speaker 3: those decades ago. Decades upon decades ago. Anyway, all right,
- 56:51Speaker 3: well that's one listening to Stevie. Stevie, you just need
- 56:53Speaker 3: one more. Oh you got to get both of these.
- 56:56Speaker 3: But you've done it before. I'll do it again, and
- 56:58Speaker 3: you will bid first this time. On our next item
