- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's time for the Almost Famous podcast. We are very
- 0:09Speaker 2: excited today because we have love. I would say this
- 0:13Speaker 2: this episode is about love, it's about kinship, it's about soulmates.
- 0:20Speaker 2: We have Dean and Kaylen here with us to talk
- 0:23Speaker 2: about so many important things coming up. Hello Dean and Kaylen.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Hey Ben, Hey, Ben and Ashley.
- 0:28Speaker 4: Hey, so your wedding is coming up.
- 0:31Speaker 5: And I have to say that so many people will
- 0:33Speaker 5: still come up to me after four years of us
- 0:37Speaker 5: being married and five and a half of us being together,
- 0:40Speaker 5: and they're like, can you believe it happened? But like
- 0:44Speaker 5: I think about you guys like that. I think like
- 0:49Speaker 5: you in Paradise and like Dean left, you know, came
- 0:54Speaker 5: back for you, and he was in this phase that
- 0:57Speaker 5: everybody said he was in. Now friends know it's a
- 0:59Speaker 5: little bit more complicateding that, but everybody was like, oh,
- 1:01Speaker 5: he's the target, like f boy, right, Nobody got called
- 1:06Speaker 5: that more than Dean, and look at him proving everybody wrong.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Well, for the.
- 1:11Speaker 6: Record, I don't think it's fair to compare the two
- 1:14Speaker 6: because your guys story the lead up to it was.
- 1:18Speaker 3: A lot longer than ours at least.
- 1:19Speaker 6: Yeah, Caitlin and I the lead up was less than
- 1:23Speaker 6: a week, but you guys had your whole.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Fin and all that stuff.
- 1:27Speaker 6: And so I do think that maybe they're still They're
- 1:29Speaker 6: in the same sport, but you're playing major leagues. We're
- 1:32Speaker 6: playing Triple A baseball essentially. But yeah, no, it's interesting.
- 1:37Speaker 3: It was.
- 1:39Speaker 6: I always refer back to the movie definitely maybe one
- 1:42Speaker 6: of my favorites. Ryan Robitts is amazing and Isla Fisher,
- 1:46Speaker 6: I believe is her name, is also really amazing in
- 1:48Speaker 6: it too, and they have a conversation and they're talking
- 1:51Speaker 6: about finding the perfect person to be with for the
- 1:53Speaker 6: rest of your life. And I think it's Isla Fisher
- 1:56Speaker 6: that says it's not who, but when. And I really
- 1:59Speaker 6: believe if I met Kaylan on the first season of
- 2:02Speaker 6: Paradise that I did Bachelor in Paradise season four when
- 2:04Speaker 6: I wasn't f boy, I don't think it really maybe
- 2:07Speaker 6: it would have.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Worked out, who knows.
- 2:08Speaker 6: I do think the two years of growth between four
- 2:11Speaker 6: and six, the seasons are really what helped change me
- 2:16Speaker 6: and show me the light and show me, you know,
- 2:18Speaker 6: what kind of person I wanted to be.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I guess in the future.
- 2:21Speaker 2: So I want to dig into this a little bit
- 2:24Speaker 2: because we've never talked about this on the show. But Dean,
- 2:27Speaker 2: if there's one person that did The Bachelor, that's a
- 2:31Speaker 2: friend of mine that I know personally that I'm like,
- 2:33Speaker 2: he could have cared less if he would have done
- 2:34Speaker 2: this show or not. In fact, I don't think he has,
- 2:39Speaker 2: Like I don't think the show has any impact on
- 2:41Speaker 2: his life other than his like relationship with Kaylan, And
- 2:44Speaker 2: I don't think Dean cares at all about the fame.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I think he likes coming to some of the events
- 2:51Speaker 2: because we have friends there and we get to have
- 2:53Speaker 2: a great time. Sure, but Dean, you're one of I
- 2:57Speaker 2: would say, the few success stories coming from the show.
- 3:00Speaker 2: So you do a show that you don't really want
- 3:03Speaker 2: to do, you're not really thrilled that you did it
- 3:05Speaker 2: after the show, but then you go back on Paradise
- 3:07Speaker 2: and you find love on it. At any point in time,
- 3:10Speaker 2: do this ever feel like a big joke to you,
- 3:12Speaker 2: like that this was like the world like coming back
- 3:16Speaker 2: at you and saying you don't know everything.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I.
- 3:19Speaker 6: Mean there's a lot to I guess unpacked from that,
- 3:21Speaker 6: I do I do appreciate the show.
- 3:23Speaker 3: It helped my bank.
- 3:24Speaker 6: Account quite a bit and so that I'll always have
- 3:26Speaker 6: an incredible amount for it.
- 3:28Speaker 7: You get a call then and you out on this
- 3:30Speaker 7: because I remember the conversation leading in to Bachelor in
- 3:34Speaker 7: Paradise season six and I was like, Dean, just do
- 3:38Speaker 7: it for the followers and the money, Like why would
- 3:40Speaker 7: you not do it for that?
- 3:42Speaker 3: And you were like the only person I talked to
- 3:44Speaker 3: before season four.
- 3:45Speaker 6: We hadn't even met yet, and I texted you, I
- 3:47Speaker 6: got your number somehow, and you were like, one thousand
- 3:49Speaker 6: percent you should do it.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Why wouldn't you be stupid? Not too?
- 3:53Speaker 2: I'm sorry?
- 3:53Speaker 3: What was the question again?
- 3:54Speaker 2: So this ever, like, is this ever like laying in
- 3:57Speaker 2: bed at night or sleeping on the top of a mountain,
- 3:59Speaker 2: which will get into in a little bit. Does it
- 4:01Speaker 2: ever just like feel wild to you that you met
- 4:05Speaker 2: the love of your life on this show?
- 4:07Speaker 6: You know, I think we can all kind of attest
- 4:09Speaker 6: to it. If you look at it from the outside,
- 4:12Speaker 6: it definitely looks weird, but going through it, like, yeah,
- 4:17Speaker 6: we fell in love on a TV show and that's
- 4:19Speaker 6: weird to say and weird to live, But it doesn't.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Feel like that at all.
- 4:24Speaker 6: You know, like we're all of us are so far
- 4:27Speaker 6: removed from the show so many years past that like
- 4:30Speaker 6: sure we still talk about it and we have these
- 4:32Speaker 6: podcasts and all these things that we are allowed to do,
- 4:35Speaker 6: but like we don't really incorporate any of that stuff
- 4:37Speaker 6: into our everyday life. So just is it doesn't feel
- 4:39Speaker 6: weird to me. It just feels like we met just
- 4:42Speaker 6: like any other couple might have met. That's how I feel,
- 4:46Speaker 6: at least, how do you feel?
- 4:47Speaker 8: Yeah, I kind of feel the same. I forget often
- 4:50Speaker 8: that we did the show, that we met on the show,
- 4:54Speaker 8: and I mean technically I slid into his DM six
- 4:57Speaker 8: years ago and then bailed on my approval.
- 5:00Speaker 3: We all know that story when you go to that
- 5:01Speaker 3: far the story.
- 5:02Speaker 8: No, it just doesn't feel it doesn't feel like we're
- 5:05Speaker 8: a reality TV couple. Like I look at I don't know,
- 5:08Speaker 8: these Netflix dating shows and all these different shows, and
- 5:10Speaker 8: they feel like a reality TV couple And I just
- 5:13Speaker 8: don't feel that for us.
- 5:14Speaker 6: Yeah, and I would say the same would be for
- 5:16Speaker 6: you guys as well. I mean Ben, obviously Jess was
- 5:18Speaker 6: never on the show, but like it doesn't see I
- 5:20Speaker 6: feel like what so many people do nowadays, what those
- 5:22Speaker 6: Netflix shows are, Like, they'll they'll try to convince everyone
- 5:26Speaker 6: else that they're in love by posting or doing whatever
- 5:28Speaker 6: they do on social media or whatever it is. And
- 5:30Speaker 6: I feel like the true the couples that are truly
- 5:33Speaker 6: in love don't really feel the need to do that,
- 5:34Speaker 6: you know.
- 5:35Speaker 3: And I feel like that maybe that's where we Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 8: And I feel like we keep a lot of our
- 5:39Speaker 8: relationship private too, Like there are some things that are public,
- 5:42Speaker 8: but then there's a lot that people don't know about us.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:46Speaker 6: I try to be public as public as I can,
- 5:47Speaker 6: but then every time I do, you hit me under
- 5:49Speaker 6: the table and tell me to stop talking about it.
- 5:51Speaker 5: Well, everything h Deane says in the podcast makes a
- 5:53Speaker 5: headline because he's like, so real.
- 5:56Speaker 4: You guys, I actually think it's less weird that we met.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Or unwise because I want to be.
- 6:03Speaker 4: On I wise unhinged all of it.
- 6:07Speaker 6: So, Like I've had friends dads come out of the
- 6:09Speaker 6: like my friends from high school's dads have reached out
- 6:12Speaker 6: to me, like sharing a headline of something so stupid
- 6:15Speaker 6: that I said, and they're like, hey, maybe you should
- 6:17Speaker 6: not be such an idiot.
- 6:18Speaker 8: Some time you said that your brother's getting pregnant up.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Was the weirdest by far.
- 6:25Speaker 5: That is the one that I like called Jared and
- 6:27Speaker 5: been like Jared, wait why Yeah.
- 6:31Speaker 6: I'll say a lot of things not realizing it, and
- 6:33Speaker 6: then the aftermath is when I start to put things
- 6:35Speaker 6: in a perspective of what I said. Jokingly obviously, but
- 6:38Speaker 6: like when friends, parents are that you haven't talked to
- 6:40Speaker 6: in a decade are coming out and saying like, hey,
- 6:42Speaker 6: maybe you should button it up a little bit, That's
- 6:43Speaker 6: when you know, maybe, uh maybe, Calen.
- 6:45Speaker 2: This is like get judgment with that.
- 6:47Speaker 8: This is like every day with us, So I either
- 6:49Speaker 8: roll my eyes or just laugh it off, and I
- 6:51Speaker 8: forget that this isn't normal for other people to be
- 6:53Speaker 8: hearing it. And then we get the headline.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Yeah sorry, the uh well, the headlines. I don't think
- 6:59Speaker 2: the head lines have given Dean enough credit. But this
- 7:02Speaker 2: is a question for Kaylen. Dean is currently accomplishing something,
- 7:06Speaker 2: Kylen that is incredibly impressive, and I'll explain why it's
- 7:10Speaker 2: so impressive in a bit. But Dean is, in short,
- 7:14Speaker 2: climbing every fourteen er in the state of Colorado leading
- 7:17Speaker 2: up to your wedding to get in better shape for
- 7:19Speaker 2: the wedding.
- 7:20Speaker 4: What's a fourteener for those who don't know.
- 7:22Speaker 2: It's a mountain that's fourteen thousand feet at its peak.
- 7:26Speaker 2: And so, Caylen, he's been gone a lot leading up
- 7:30Speaker 2: to this wedding. How has that been for you? You
- 7:35Speaker 2: are You're similar to my wife in a lot of
- 7:38Speaker 2: ways where you can function alone pretty well. But I
- 7:41Speaker 2: know there is a tad of missing your partner, especially
- 7:45Speaker 2: as you lead up to a wedding. So walk us
- 7:47Speaker 2: through what you've been doing leading up to this wedding
- 7:49Speaker 2: while Dean has been getting in shape.
- 7:51Speaker 8: Well, I'm not. I'm not accomplishing anything quite as impressive as.
- 7:55Speaker 3: You absolutely are. What every day is an accomplishment?
- 8:00Speaker 8: Oh, beautifully supportive, But no, this is like Dean does
- 8:05Speaker 8: these things, like you know, he goes to Pakistani, goes
- 8:07Speaker 8: to Antarctica, he does all of these like crazy wild adventures.
- 8:10Speaker 8: Stop and this one has been the longest. So it
- 8:15Speaker 8: definitely got to the point where I called him and
- 8:16Speaker 8: I was like, I just miss you and I don't
- 8:18Speaker 8: want to like, I don't want to miss you, Like
- 8:20Speaker 8: it's just been you know, three months, and it's been
- 8:22Speaker 8: too long. And I was talking to my therapist and
- 8:24Speaker 8: she was the one who brought me to that realization.
- 8:28Speaker 8: And she was like, it sounds like you just miss him,
- 8:30Speaker 8: Like can't you just say that? And I was like, Oh,
- 8:32Speaker 8: I just don't really like talking about feelings or like
- 8:34Speaker 8: admitting that. So I finally admitted it to him and
- 8:37Speaker 8: I was like, no, I miss you. And it's yeah,
- 8:39Speaker 8: it's been a long three months. I'm super proud of him.
- 8:41Speaker 8: I'm super happy for him, but I'm very excited it's
- 8:43Speaker 8: almost over.
- 8:43Speaker 6: Yeah, we got We got in a little scuffle a
- 8:45Speaker 6: couple of weeks ago because there was a culmination of
- 8:47Speaker 6: that what she was just talking about, and I like
- 8:49Speaker 6: got into a pretty hairy situation on one of the mountains.
- 8:52Speaker 8: Yeah, Dane like he's doing this and then he puts
- 8:55Speaker 8: himself in situations to make it more scary because he
- 8:57Speaker 8: gets bored, and that really freaks me out. I'm like,
- 9:00Speaker 8: you're already doing this, I already have anxiety. Now you're
- 9:02Speaker 8: doing things that are more dangerous, which really makes me angry.
- 9:05Speaker 6: Yeah, And I was like texting her about it, like
- 9:07Speaker 6: explaining the story, and I was like embellishing some certain
- 9:10Speaker 6: details just to make it seer interesting for you, and
- 9:14Speaker 6: I didn't realize that she was feeling this way, and
- 9:17Speaker 6: had I known that, I obviously would have maybe eased
- 9:19Speaker 6: up a little soft into the.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Story a little bit.
- 9:22Speaker 6: But yeah, we got not in like an argument, but
- 9:25Speaker 6: there was a contentious phone call.
- 9:27Speaker 3: I guess about it all.
- 9:29Speaker 6: But I do feel like it's been three months. Yes,
- 9:31Speaker 6: but I have been splitting time pretty well. I've been
- 9:33Speaker 6: home a lot. I've been seeing you at least twice
- 9:36Speaker 6: a month, which I now that I say that doesn't
- 9:39Speaker 6: sound like very.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Much as you lead up to a wedding. It's fantastic time,
- 9:44Speaker 2: It's like really great.
- 9:47Speaker 8: Like the timing sucks, it's terrible.
- 9:49Speaker 2: You know, it's Uh, I've known Dean for a long time.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I've loved Dean for a long time. Uh, it's it's
- 9:55Speaker 2: great as I hear this story, because what I go
- 9:58Speaker 2: to first is I remember min any conversations, and one
- 10:01Speaker 2: in particular with Dean. You know where he wasn't I
- 10:05Speaker 2: don't know. I think Dean and I shared a little
- 10:07Speaker 2: bit of it. I think it came out differently, But
- 10:09Speaker 2: I don't know if Dean ever believed he was really
- 10:11Speaker 2: going to be truly loved and missed and liked by
- 10:14Speaker 2: somebody that would want to spend their life with him.
- 10:16Speaker 2: And so this is the weirdest thing ever. Well, but
- 10:19Speaker 2: it's Dean. Well he's a beautiful man. Yes, But you know,
- 10:26Speaker 2: for Kaylin to miss you and communicate with that with
- 10:28Speaker 2: you and also be really flustered when you tell her
- 10:32Speaker 2: that you are running into bad situations, that's a that's
- 10:37Speaker 2: very like that for me, that's weird, but it's a
- 10:40Speaker 2: victory like you know, you found it, buddy. But to
- 10:44Speaker 2: give some like insight into what you are doing now,
- 10:47Speaker 2: I want to spend a little time on this. There
- 10:49Speaker 2: are I think fifty eight correct me if I'm wrong,
- 10:51Speaker 2: fourteen ers in the state of Colorado. I know obviously
- 10:55Speaker 2: I live here. I know a lot of people who
- 10:57Speaker 2: have done them. I know people who have done different
- 11:00Speaker 2: sets of peaks each year. I know people that try
- 11:03Speaker 2: to cross off all fifty eight peaks by the time
- 11:06Speaker 2: that they aren't able to hike anymore, and that always
- 11:10Speaker 2: is a massive accomplishment. I have friends that try to go,
- 11:13Speaker 2: you know, do one every weekend. I have never, honestly,
- 11:19Speaker 2: and ten years of living here, never heard of anybody say, hey,
- 11:22Speaker 2: I'm going to do all fifty eight peaks in a year.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I'm sure there are some, especially somebody who I played
- 11:27Speaker 2: golf with. After the first peak, which was three months ago,
- 11:30Speaker 2: he said, Hey, in three months, I'm going to do
- 11:31Speaker 2: all fifty eight because these are brutal I've done on myself.
- 11:34Speaker 2: They're exhausting. Dean, spend a little time here explain to
- 11:37Speaker 2: the listeners what you are doing, because to me it
- 11:40Speaker 2: makes very little sense.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:42Speaker 6: Well, to your first point, I want to mention when
- 11:45Speaker 6: we were getting in that scuffle last week or two
- 11:48Speaker 6: weeks ago, I was getting upset that I was like, well,
- 11:52Speaker 6: I was getting upset about the whole situation for whatever reason.
- 11:55Speaker 6: I was like, this is my goal. I'm doing whatever
- 11:56Speaker 6: I can to achieve it. And then I took a
- 11:58Speaker 6: step back and I thought about how lucky I was
- 12:01Speaker 6: to have someone in my life that cared enough to.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Have feelings about me being away, and I.
- 12:07Speaker 6: Just took a step back, and I was like, I'm
- 12:08Speaker 6: really grateful to have Klin in my life to care
- 12:12Speaker 6: enough about me to want me to come home and
- 12:15Speaker 6: hang out with her. So I just wanted to mention
- 12:16Speaker 6: that that was a realization that I had not too
- 12:18Speaker 6: long ago. Either, but yeah, the fourteen ers growing up
- 12:23Speaker 6: in Colorado. I love the outdoors. I love the state
- 12:27Speaker 6: of Colorado so much. I think it's the best state
- 12:30Speaker 6: in the US for so many reasons. California is great too,
- 12:32Speaker 6: and I'm sure there's many many others, but just as
- 12:34Speaker 6: a Colorado kud, I've loved it so much, and I've
- 12:36Speaker 6: always closely associated myself with like the lifestyle of Colorado,
- 12:40Speaker 6: which is like more outdoors, you know, all that kind
- 12:41Speaker 6: of stuff. And then once we decided to get married
- 12:44Speaker 6: in Colorado in the mountains, nonetheless, I like, I just
- 12:49Speaker 6: feel like I owed it to myself to be the
- 12:51Speaker 6: person that I always thought I was as far as
- 12:53Speaker 6: like the Colorado vibe, for lack of a better word, goes,
- 12:57Speaker 6: and not to necessarily earn the right to get married
- 13:02Speaker 6: in Colorado, but to feel more comfortable with that because
- 13:06Speaker 6: I so closely identify with the things that the state
- 13:09Speaker 6: represents so much. And yeah, so there's fifty eight of them.
- 13:13Speaker 6: They're all over fourteen thousand feet, which you know is
- 13:17Speaker 6: pretty high. I don't really get altitude sickness that a
- 13:19Speaker 6: lot of people do kind of suffer from that, but
- 13:21Speaker 6: I have never really dealt with it, and a big
- 13:23Speaker 6: reason too was I hate going to the gym and
- 13:24Speaker 6: I wanted to lose weight and look good at the wedding.
- 13:27Speaker 6: So I lost twenty pounds, which is really nice. Yeah,
- 13:30Speaker 6: really good. I haven't really been drinking much booze, which
- 13:32Speaker 6: is a big part of that as well.
- 13:34Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 13:36Speaker 6: I just wanted to be able to stand up there
- 13:37Speaker 6: on the altar in the mountains in Colorado with the
- 13:40Speaker 6: love of my life and feel more at peace or
- 13:45Speaker 6: at home or comfortable, whatever it is. And this was
- 13:48Speaker 6: like the way that I decided to make it happen
- 13:51Speaker 6: that way, I.
- 13:52Speaker 8: Guess most challengingly, it's a challenging Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 6: The thing is they are hard. Many of them are easy,
- 13:59Speaker 6: but a lot of them are also really hard.
- 14:01Speaker 3: But like it just you can just do it. You
- 14:05Speaker 3: all have to do is just do it, and then
- 14:07Speaker 3: you know. Then you did it.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Yeah, you have to know. You don't know. No, you
- 14:11Speaker 2: don't have to just do it. You have to do
- 14:13Speaker 2: it and then go. I have fifty seven more to go.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I have fifty five more to go, because Ashley, here's
- 14:18Speaker 2: something for you, right. I usually do one or two
- 14:20Speaker 2: a year. I do one a tour or two a
- 14:23Speaker 2: year because they are an all day event. I mean
- 14:27Speaker 2: you leave at the Kraka non for me, most of mine, Dean,
- 14:31Speaker 2: you probably have been able to do them faster. They
- 14:34Speaker 2: can take a good five to seven hours is typically
- 14:36Speaker 2: like how long it takes of straight walking, and half
- 14:40Speaker 2: of that or over half of that because it's faster
- 14:42Speaker 2: going down. Is up fourteen thousand feet, That's insane.
- 14:49Speaker 5: It's fourteen thousand feet, so okay, so it's three miles
- 14:52Speaker 5: about in the air.
- 14:54Speaker 6: Yeah, and that's just like above that's the elevation above
- 14:56Speaker 6: sea level. So typically you're gonna start most of around
- 14:59Speaker 6: like nine to ten thous feet, so you're gaining four
- 15:02Speaker 6: thousand feet maybe five thousand feet, depending on the mountain obviously,
- 15:05Speaker 6: but then that's over the course of ten miles.
- 15:09Speaker 3: And it's funny.
- 15:10Speaker 6: I just did the fifty sixth one two days ago,
- 15:13Speaker 6: and I finally feel like I'm in shape now, And
- 15:17Speaker 6: it's just it's kind of annoying that now at the
- 15:19Speaker 6: very end of it, I feel like I can hike fast,
- 15:22Speaker 6: hike stronger, hike longer, like those types of things. But
- 15:26Speaker 6: now it's over, so it's like, now what do I do?
- 15:28Speaker 2: Are you going to finish all fifty eight.
- 15:31Speaker 3: I'm gonna finish. Yeah, So I have two left, the
- 15:33Speaker 3: Maroon Bells.
- 15:34Speaker 6: I'm gonna do the traverse, and I'm doing it the
- 15:36Speaker 6: day before we leave for the wedding festivities with my brother,
- 15:40Speaker 6: who I climbed the first one with a couple of
- 15:41Speaker 6: years ago. So it'll be like a good full circle moment.
- 15:44Speaker 6: We're changing our last name to Bell the mountains. The
- 15:48Speaker 6: two mountains are called the Bells, so I thought it
- 15:50Speaker 6: would be a good capstone as well.
- 15:52Speaker 3: And it's an aspen.
- 15:53Speaker 6: So yeah, so I have two more to do, going
- 15:55Speaker 6: to do them next week on Wednesday. But yeah, it's
- 15:58Speaker 6: interesting because it is a challenge and it's such a
- 16:01Speaker 6: great accomplishment.
- 16:02Speaker 3: I'm so so proud of it.
- 16:03Speaker 6: But like I said, it's just like it's more of
- 16:05Speaker 6: like a psychological challenge than it is a physical challenge
- 16:08Speaker 6: at this point at least, where there's just so many
- 16:10Speaker 6: of them, and like you have to continue to motivate
- 16:12Speaker 6: yourself to do these things, and some of them aren't fun,
- 16:15Speaker 6: so you just have to like, you know, grate your
- 16:16Speaker 6: teeth and get through the boringness of it all. And
- 16:18Speaker 6: so that's why Kaylen, and I got an argument because
- 16:21Speaker 6: I needed to spice it up a little bit.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Spice it up in the relationship a little bit.
- 16:26Speaker 6: Spice up the hikes, which makes it more dangerous, which
- 16:28Speaker 6: then puts more stress on her.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Okay, So, Kaylan, you get a text from Dean and
- 16:32Speaker 2: then we'll get off of the mountain climbs. I just
- 16:34Speaker 2: think it's something not only to be celebrated forcus it
- 16:38Speaker 2: is a huge accomplishment, but also to be confused by,
- 16:41Speaker 2: which is also very fair and doing fifty eight fourteen years.
- 16:45Speaker 2: And when you're Kaylen, you get a text from Dean
- 16:48Speaker 2: that frightens you or makes you feel uneasy? What do
- 16:53Speaker 2: you understand of the situation and the story that happened
- 16:57Speaker 2: on the mountains with Dean?
- 17:00Speaker 8: So this one specifically that he's referring to. He yeah,
- 17:04Speaker 8: I was embellishing, but I didn't know that he was embellishing.
- 17:06Speaker 8: But he was also so upset. He's like sliding down
- 17:09Speaker 8: the mountain. He's falling, he said, he's fallen so many times.
- 17:12Speaker 8: He could be encountering bears, and he's bush whacking right
- 17:15Speaker 8: by a river that no man's ever touched, is what
- 17:17Speaker 8: he said. Yea, all this stuff, but I can tell
- 17:20Speaker 8: he's so mad, and I'm fuming because I'm like, it
- 17:24Speaker 8: is nine pm, you're still hiking. You chose to leave
- 17:27Speaker 8: at noon when you should have left at six am.
- 17:29Speaker 8: You're putting yourself in this situation. Drops his phone, he
- 17:32Speaker 8: has to hike back up because he dropped his phone,
- 17:34Speaker 8: like all these things. But he's so mad. So I
- 17:36Speaker 8: was like, I can't let him know that I'm mad
- 17:38Speaker 8: right now because he's so frustrated. I can't imagine how
- 17:41Speaker 8: frustrated he is. So I let myself go to bed
- 17:44Speaker 8: and not really say anything. And then the next day
- 17:47Speaker 8: or two days later, after he hit that's what we
- 17:49Speaker 8: talked about.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, right, Yeah, that one was.
- 17:51Speaker 6: It was fifteen miles, two peaks, and a lot of elevation.
- 17:56Speaker 6: I started at two pm, which is way too late.
- 17:59Speaker 6: I was a quarter mile up and I realized I've
- 18:01Speaker 6: forgot my head lamp, and I just like, whatever, I
- 18:03Speaker 6: don't need.
- 18:04Speaker 8: I was so mad about that.
- 18:06Speaker 6: My map took me down this crazy route which actually
- 18:09Speaker 6: ended up just being a river, and so I was
- 18:11Speaker 6: the only person that I probably had hike there all
- 18:14Speaker 6: all in the history of man. And it was dark
- 18:17Speaker 6: and I'm bushwhacking and I have my phone flashlight, and
- 18:21Speaker 6: like it could be bear country, who knows, you know,
- 18:24Speaker 6: like they'll stay away from the more trotten paths, but
- 18:26Speaker 6: since no one's really been over here, that might be
- 18:28Speaker 6: where they like to congregate. And so I was like
- 18:31Speaker 6: singing out loud to myself the whole time, and like
- 18:33Speaker 6: she said, I kept falling. And the thing with this
- 18:36Speaker 6: one was there was no redeeming qualities of the hike,
- 18:38Speaker 6: Like I can't look back and be like, oh, that sucked.
- 18:40Speaker 6: But there was this one moment where I climbed this
- 18:43Speaker 6: rock and it was really awesome. Like the whole thing
- 18:44Speaker 6: was just like long and steep and exhausting, and so
- 18:48Speaker 6: there was there was nothing to be happy about it
- 18:50Speaker 6: except for it being done.
- 18:51Speaker 3: I guess that's why I was so worked up about it.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, do you normally like go on trails or
- 18:57Speaker 4: is it just kind of going up the hill where
- 19:00Speaker 4: whatever what you find?
- 19:01Speaker 3: Yeah, most of them have trails.
- 19:02Speaker 6: There's been a few where in order to make it
- 19:05Speaker 6: more interesting, I don't go on a trail, I guess,
- 19:08Speaker 6: but but yeah, yeah, yeah there's there's trails usually.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Yeah, No, this all ties into your wedding, because wasn't
- 19:16Speaker 5: the goal to do it all before the wedding day
- 19:18Speaker 5: and then once you were married, you were going to
- 19:21Speaker 5: quote calm down with the explorations.
- 19:25Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know if i'ssarily calm down per se.
- 19:29Speaker 6: I still think that the bug is still in me.
- 19:32Speaker 6: I'll do obviously a lot more exploring with Klan, which
- 19:34Speaker 6: would be great. And that's the thing too, Like I
- 19:36Speaker 6: would have loved for Kaylin to have joined me for
- 19:38Speaker 6: some of these, but I understand if you're not locked
- 19:42Speaker 6: into the mindset of climbing a mountain, it's hard to
- 19:44Speaker 6: get motivated to do it, especially when it's hard and
- 19:47Speaker 6: you're tired and get cold or whatever. But there's no
- 19:52Speaker 6: plans immediately after the wedding to go out and climb
- 19:55Speaker 6: Dnali or something like that.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Maybe next year.
- 20:07Speaker 2: There's so much here to then transfer into the wedding.
- 20:12Speaker 2: First off, Kayl and I I spent many nights talking
- 20:15Speaker 2: about the two of you. I think whn Dean first
- 20:19Speaker 2: told me that, hey, he's going to do this because
- 20:21Speaker 2: he was going to calm down, and I was talking
- 20:23Speaker 2: to Jess and I was like, I don't feel like
- 20:24Speaker 2: I've had to calm down or stop most of my
- 20:28Speaker 2: life because I'm married like that that is something I
- 20:31Speaker 2: don't know who's telling people that, But there's a lot
- 20:33Speaker 2: of freedom in marriage, I've found. And as he's been
- 20:38Speaker 2: climbing these you have been planning a wedding that is
- 20:41Speaker 2: coming up very soon, and to kind of transition to
- 20:44Speaker 2: that has him being away made it easier for you
- 20:49Speaker 2: to plan this wedding because you know, he maybe doesn't
- 20:52Speaker 2: have as much of an opinion on things, or has
- 20:54Speaker 2: it been harder. How's the wedding process been.
- 20:58Speaker 8: Yeah, I think it's been a comedy of both. I
- 21:01Speaker 8: really really love planning, so I've I've been having a
- 21:03Speaker 8: blast of this, Like I feel like I should have
- 21:06Speaker 8: done this professionally because I love it so much. But
- 21:11Speaker 8: there are things where like I want his opinion and
- 21:12Speaker 8: maybe he doesn't have service where he's like not super
- 21:15Speaker 8: responsive because he's been climbing. There's a lot of decisions
- 21:18Speaker 8: I made on my own and he just has to
- 21:21Speaker 8: live with it.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Yeah, And well that's the thing too, I want to
- 21:24Speaker 3: live with it. I want you to make.
- 21:25Speaker 6: All these decisions because you have such great taste and
- 21:30Speaker 6: your opinion is more is worth so much more when
- 21:33Speaker 6: it comes to this space, I think, and yes, I
- 21:35Speaker 6: want to be equal partners when it comes to planning
- 21:36Speaker 6: all these things.
- 21:37Speaker 3: But like, if you want something a certain.
- 21:39Speaker 6: Way, I don't want it another way to the point
- 21:42Speaker 6: where I'm going to fight you on it because.
- 21:44Speaker 3: I want you to have everything your way, you know
- 21:46Speaker 3: what I mean?
- 21:46Speaker 8: Yeah, And the important things like we agreed on together,
- 21:49Speaker 8: like our first dance song, his aisle song I wanted
- 21:52Speaker 8: him to pick out and it's very him. I don't
- 21:55Speaker 8: think anyone's ever walked down the aisle to the song
- 21:57Speaker 8: that you sure?
- 22:00Speaker 3: Sure?
- 22:01Speaker 6: But yeah, I know that there was a men's aisle song.
- 22:04Speaker 6: Did you guys do that at your writings?
- 22:06Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 22:07Speaker 2: I was already I think I did, Yeah, because I
- 22:09Speaker 2: kind of walked down with my like groom's men before
- 22:13Speaker 2: everybody else. And I think there's a unique song playing.
- 22:15Speaker 8: Then Okay, that's pretty unique.
- 22:17Speaker 3: It's pretty What was your song, Ben? Do you remember?
- 22:19Speaker 2: I don't remember. I knew you're asked. I was like,
- 22:26Speaker 2: but as far.
- 22:26Speaker 6: As the wedding planning goes, like I try to be involved,
- 22:30Speaker 6: but we have two wedding planners who are fantastic and
- 22:33Speaker 6: they're they're absolutely crushing it for us, and it's it's
- 22:38Speaker 6: really the biggest obstacle that we've been faced with with
- 22:41Speaker 6: this whole thing is just the people that own the.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Venue have been a bit of a challenge to deal
- 22:45Speaker 3: with that.
- 22:46Speaker 6: They say something and then they go back on their word,
- 22:48Speaker 6: and then they change everything completely, and then we agree
- 22:51Speaker 6: to something, but then they think that we agree to
- 22:53Speaker 6: something else and it's and.
- 22:54Speaker 8: We put our deposits down, so we're kind of stuck
- 22:56Speaker 8: into it. That's been the most stressful part of the
- 22:58Speaker 8: whole process is the venue and do with the people
- 23:02Speaker 8: behind it. And I'm excited to never have to deal.
- 23:06Speaker 4: With it again.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, we're excited for the wedding because we don't
- 23:09Speaker 3: want to have to deal with them.
- 23:10Speaker 5: Yeah, speaking of the venue, I know that Jared asked
- 23:13Speaker 5: you this on the podcast.
- 23:14Speaker 4: It's beautiful.
- 23:15Speaker 5: We're so excited to check it out people, But Jared
- 23:19Speaker 5: was like, it seems so dean, but actually, Kaylen, you
- 23:23Speaker 5: were the one that was really wanting it to be here,
- 23:28Speaker 5: and that also I just want to like kind of
- 23:30Speaker 5: like tie it into just your overall essence. I was
- 23:33Speaker 5: at dinner with a few, like outside dinner with Jill Chen,
- 23:37Speaker 5: you know, from from Bachelor Vision yesterday and she was like,
- 23:40Speaker 5: I feel like Kaylen is such a different person, not
- 23:43Speaker 5: in like a good way. Then she was back on
- 23:46Speaker 5: her seasons, like she was the pageant girl in her
- 23:48Speaker 5: season right, and now she's this nature girl.
- 23:52Speaker 4: So how like, how has.
- 23:54Speaker 5: Dean evolved you into this being now like kind of
- 23:56Speaker 5: your style as well?
- 23:58Speaker 8: Yeah, I think you brought out a lot of parts
- 24:00Speaker 8: of me that were always there, but like I could
- 24:03Speaker 8: embrace more, Like I never I were a makeup like
- 24:06Speaker 8: I feel like three times a month now, I like
- 24:08Speaker 8: never wear versus before I would always wear makeup every
- 24:11Speaker 8: single day. Like was fully like that pageant girl and
- 24:14Speaker 8: not really comfortable in myself. I was like, you know,
- 24:17Speaker 8: had this facade on all the time. And I don't know,
- 24:20Speaker 8: I've just been able to embrace myself and enjoy the
- 24:25Speaker 8: outdoors like it's still you know, hiking is a challenge,
- 24:27Speaker 8: but I'm getting better, but I do enjoy like being
- 24:31Speaker 8: in nature a lot more. And just that whole aspect.
- 24:34Speaker 8: That's that he's introduced.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Me too well.
- 24:35Speaker 6: And as you said too, that's been a part of
- 24:36Speaker 6: your family for so long. Your miller size, Yeah, her
- 24:40Speaker 6: grandparents have a sprinter van. Her uncle has hiked a
- 24:43Speaker 6: bunch of fourteen ers as well.
- 24:45Speaker 8: I just never thought it was like something ingrained in
- 24:47Speaker 8: me and something I could do. It was like me
- 24:49Speaker 8: limiting myself. And Dean is really good at pushing himself
- 24:53Speaker 8: and telling himself that he can do anything, and part
- 24:55Speaker 8: of our relationship has been like telling me, I can
- 24:57Speaker 8: also do anything that you can.
- 24:59Speaker 6: Yeah, some times you struggle with it still, but you
- 25:01Speaker 6: can do more than I can. So yeah, I don't know,
- 25:05Speaker 6: but yes, I mean it's The wedding venue thing was
- 25:08Speaker 6: funny because I didn't even know that we were going
- 25:11Speaker 6: to get married in Colorado. There was one venue in
- 25:13Speaker 6: particular that or two venues in particular that I.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Was really gung ho about. One of them was expensive.
- 25:17Speaker 6: I thought we were gonna get a friend discount because
- 25:19Speaker 6: my friend owns it, but his sister didn't let us.
- 25:21Speaker 6: The other one was they gave me a scholarship to
- 25:23Speaker 6: go to college, and so I was excited to maybe
- 25:26Speaker 6: potentially get married on their property because they basically helped
- 25:28Speaker 6: me get a higher education, which I really appreciated. But
- 25:32Speaker 6: the venue just didn't work out for what we wanted.
- 25:34Speaker 6: And then we went up and saw this one. It
- 25:35Speaker 6: was the second one that we saw and we pulled
- 25:38Speaker 6: up and Kaln's like, this is it. I was like,
- 25:40Speaker 6: we haven't even we haven't even gone out of the
- 25:41Speaker 6: car yet. What are you talking about. She's like, I
- 25:42Speaker 6: don't care.
- 25:43Speaker 3: This is it. I know this is exactly where we
- 25:44Speaker 3: want to get married.
- 25:45Speaker 8: And it was covered in snow. We couldn't even see it.
- 25:46Speaker 8: But I really wanted it to be an experience, Like
- 25:50Speaker 8: I don't know, I've talked to so many people who
- 25:51Speaker 8: have gotten married and they can't really spend time with
- 25:54Speaker 8: everyone that they want to, and so I wanted the
- 25:56Speaker 8: weekend to be all about our friends and family getting
- 25:59Speaker 8: together and have that quality time with them. So the
- 26:02Speaker 8: unique venue kind of.
- 26:03Speaker 4: Allows for that.
- 26:04Speaker 8: Just like slow down, not be stressed, and enjoy everyone.
- 26:07Speaker 6: Yeah, and sorry, I just I feel like we're just
- 26:10Speaker 6: talking on over here.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 26:12Speaker 6: I just want to say too, your weddings are amazing.
- 26:17Speaker 6: But what we really wanted to do, and what Kayln
- 26:20Speaker 6: I think really wanted to do too, was like make
- 26:22Speaker 6: it more. You know, like if you go to a
- 26:25Speaker 6: wedding and everyone's kind of like doing their own thing
- 26:27Speaker 6: until the ceremony happens, that's great. But what Kaylen wanted
- 26:30Speaker 6: to do was make it more of like a group
- 26:32Speaker 6: group dynamic, and so everyone's going to be like staying
- 26:34Speaker 6: on the property. We have like games and stuff planned
- 26:37Speaker 6: and hopefully it just makes it more of like.
- 26:39Speaker 3: A unique experience. We're all about the unique experience.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's going to be. I mean, I know this
- 26:44Speaker 2: area and it's it's got to be one of the
- 26:48Speaker 2: most beautiful places in the US where you guys are
- 26:51Speaker 2: getting married. And I think for anybody that's coming from
- 26:55Speaker 2: la or maybe not, has never been in the Colorado Mountains,
- 26:58Speaker 2: I think they're going to be shocked.
- 27:00Speaker 4: That would be me.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you're going to be shocked at just
- 27:04Speaker 2: what the mountains do for you and to you and
- 27:07Speaker 2: what and and kind of what you see and experience.
- 27:10Speaker 2: And you know, I've been to Colorado weddings where there's
- 27:13Speaker 2: been a moose walk through the wedding, where there's been
- 27:15Speaker 2: a bear, you know, like coming through and everybody has
- 27:18Speaker 2: to come in from the reception because the bear is
- 27:20Speaker 2: down to eat the food. Like those are the things
- 27:23Speaker 2: that make it amazing and special. Well as you know,
- 27:28Speaker 2: as we kind of dive in and as you get
- 27:30Speaker 2: a week away, I would love to hear both of
- 27:33Speaker 2: your kind of emotions around the idea that you are
- 27:36Speaker 2: getting married next week or you know a little over
- 27:40Speaker 2: a week away, that this is coming up soon, that
- 27:44Speaker 2: you've kind of been prepping for it for a while.
- 27:45Speaker 2: And so I want to start with Kaylin, how are
- 27:49Speaker 2: you feeling, you know about being married.
- 27:53Speaker 8: I'm excited. I mean, it's just so crazy because I
- 27:56Speaker 8: had a crush on Dean for so long and like.
- 27:59Speaker 4: It it's really crazy.
- 28:01Speaker 8: I remember seeing you on my TV and I was like,
- 28:03Speaker 8: that guy is so hot and handsome, and then I
- 28:06Speaker 8: met you and thought the same thing. And it's just
- 28:09Speaker 8: so wild that I'm marrying this guy that I watched
- 28:12Speaker 8: on TV and had the biggest crush on ever. And
- 28:16Speaker 8: you know, we've created this life together. We live in
- 28:17Speaker 8: a home. We do kind of feel married. But it's
- 28:20Speaker 8: nice to actually go through with the wedding and call
- 28:23Speaker 8: him my husband, which is crazy. This is our last
- 28:25Speaker 8: week of being fiance's before we're husband and wife.
- 28:28Speaker 2: But he.
- 28:31Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 28:32Speaker 8: I was like just going through my vows and like
- 28:34Speaker 8: trying to fine tune them and stuff, and this is
- 28:37Speaker 8: potentially I don't know in them. But I remember when
- 28:40Speaker 8: he dumped me on the beach and I was like
- 28:44Speaker 8: so heartbroken. And it wasn't necessarily like I had loved
- 28:46Speaker 8: him yet, but I knew that I would never meet
- 28:49Speaker 8: anyone like Dan ever again, Like he is the most
- 28:52Speaker 8: special person ever, and so I was like, it's all
- 28:56Speaker 8: downhill from here, like I'm screwed yea, And so it's
- 28:59Speaker 8: just crazy.
- 28:59Speaker 4: I just love him so much.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Agree with that, Dean.
- 29:05Speaker 4: Oh, I love that so much.
- 29:06Speaker 5: It's so relatable to be like, look, I well it
- 29:09Speaker 5: sucks because now I'm going to have to marry my
- 29:11Speaker 5: second place.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Yes, I'm not going to be with him.
- 29:14Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 29:14Speaker 3: I really helped you out there, didn't I. Yeah, it's
- 29:17Speaker 3: weird to be such a chick.
- 29:19Speaker 2: It's weird to.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Be marrying a fan. I guess I never expected that.
- 29:26Speaker 2: You free.
- 29:29Speaker 3: I guess that's cool. Yeah, I know, you're right. I'm
- 29:31Speaker 3: excited to be married.
- 29:32Speaker 6: Obviously, I've been pretty marriage averse for a large portion
- 29:36Speaker 6: of my life, and then even the first probably half
- 29:39Speaker 6: of our relationship, I was pretty marriage averse. Not that
- 29:42Speaker 6: I was lifelong partnership averse, because I think once Kaitlyn
- 29:46Speaker 6: came into my life is pretty It didn't maybe happen
- 29:49Speaker 6: as fast as it did for me as it did
- 29:51Speaker 6: for you, but it was pretty quick for me to
- 29:52Speaker 6: know that I was wanting to spend the rest of
- 29:55Speaker 6: my life with.
- 29:56Speaker 3: You, and the wedding is just.
- 29:59Speaker 6: An way to kind of like seal the deal on that,
- 30:01Speaker 6: which is really nice and I agree like going around
- 30:04Speaker 6: and being able to call you my wife instead of
- 30:05Speaker 6: having to say do I say fiance, do I say girlfriend?
- 30:08Speaker 3: Do I say wife? That'll be nice to not have
- 30:12Speaker 3: to worry about that anymore.
- 30:14Speaker 6: But yeah, it's great kind of what you were alluding
- 30:16Speaker 6: to earlier, Ben like having someone in your life that
- 30:19Speaker 6: cares about you more than you care about yourself is
- 30:22Speaker 6: a really really interesting feeling. It's something I've never really
- 30:25Speaker 6: experienced in my life until now. And just to know
- 30:29Speaker 6: that for the next sixty or seventy or eighty years,
- 30:32Speaker 6: like we're always going to have each other's back, and
- 30:34Speaker 6: you have a bad day, you can come in and
- 30:35Speaker 6: complain to your partner about how bad of a day
- 30:37Speaker 6: you had, and.
- 30:38Speaker 3: You can kind of rely on that.
- 30:39Speaker 6: Like, it's pretty cool to be able to know that
- 30:42Speaker 6: we're going to get to just continue to build and
- 30:44Speaker 6: grow together for however.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Long we get to live.
- 30:47Speaker 6: I do feel like I'm going to be like one
- 30:48Speaker 6: hundred and eighty years old when I die. Caitlin might
- 30:51Speaker 6: make it two hundred, So it sucks.
- 30:53Speaker 3: For me, like eighty years if you're in a widow
- 30:55Speaker 3: or but I'll take anything I can get.
- 30:58Speaker 6: Every day is a blessing and I'm super super happy
- 31:00Speaker 6: to be able to continue to build on that. And
- 31:02Speaker 6: it just feels like too, like our relationship is so young.
- 31:05Speaker 6: You know, you guys have both been in your relationships
- 31:07Speaker 6: for probably a little bit longer than us.
- 31:09Speaker 3: I'm sure you can attest too like.
- 31:10Speaker 6: It feels like we just started dating like a week
- 31:13Speaker 6: ago in a lot of ways, but obviously we don't.
- 31:15Speaker 6: Like we know more about each other than anyone else
- 31:18Speaker 6: on this planet, and so it's just it's an exciting
- 31:21Speaker 6: time for sure.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Ashlely, Can I ask one question real quick that was
- 31:34Speaker 2: on the rundown that I don't understand? Yeah, I really
- 31:37Speaker 2: have no clue where this comes from. I've never heard it.
- 31:39Speaker 2: I don't know what's going on here, but it was
- 31:41Speaker 2: written down on the prep and I had got to
- 31:43Speaker 2: ask it. It says you're considering becoming born again virgin
- 31:48Speaker 2: pre wedding? Is this still something you're doing?
- 31:51Speaker 4: This is definitely something that they made mention of that
- 31:53Speaker 4: he shouldn't have made mention of.
- 31:55Speaker 8: Okay, Duane's just talking out of his butt again.
- 32:00Speaker 3: Sounds pretty standard for me. I don't even remember why
- 32:02Speaker 3: I brought that up.
- 32:03Speaker 8: You were like, that would be so cool if we
- 32:04Speaker 8: didn't have sex until the wedding. Oh yeah, so we
- 32:08Speaker 8: would become born again virgins.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Yeah, well you can go the next week.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah, okay, so we're nine days away. I'm assuming
- 32:16Speaker 2: this is no longer a part of the plan.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Yeah, start the hell.
- 32:23Speaker 4: I'm I'm so glad you threw that one in.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Ben, I'm done. That was all I got. I saw it.
- 32:29Speaker 2: I was like, I don't give what's going on here,
- 32:31Speaker 2: but I want to ask.
- 32:32Speaker 6: All right, Yeah, I think my problem is I feel
- 32:34Speaker 6: like on these podcasts, especially when Jared is co hosting
- 32:36Speaker 6: and Kaylen sit right next to me, I just feel
- 32:38Speaker 6: I forget that people listen to this and I just
- 32:41Speaker 6: talk like I'm talking to my friends, and so it
- 32:44Speaker 6: just gets out of handsome time.
- 32:45Speaker 4: That that makes good content.
- 32:47Speaker 5: All right, So, Kaylin, we've seen you try on so
- 32:49Speaker 5: many dresses on social media and like, oh my goodness,
- 32:52Speaker 5: you're gonna look good in everything.
- 32:54Speaker 4: Did you settle on just one or you're gonna have multiples?
- 32:57Speaker 8: I have a ceremony dress and a reception.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Yes, okay, cool? And like, do you want to tell
- 33:02Speaker 4: a style?
- 33:03Speaker 5: Is it what we'd expect from a nature wedding or
- 33:06Speaker 5: is it different?
- 33:08Speaker 4: Different?
- 33:08Speaker 8: It was surprisingly so easy for me because I did pageants,
- 33:12Speaker 8: so I've worn so many different styles of dresses since
- 33:15Speaker 8: I was fifteen, and there were two styles that I like,
- 33:19Speaker 8: I knew I wanted. I went in and I was like,
- 33:21Speaker 8: I want this style for the reception and I want
- 33:23Speaker 8: this style for the ceremony. So the second dress I
- 33:26Speaker 8: tried on was the dress I'm wearing for the ceremony
- 33:28Speaker 8: or yeah, ceremony, and then I think it was like
- 33:31Speaker 8: the fourth dress or my reception. So I knew immediately
- 33:35Speaker 8: super easy. I feel like they're not super natury.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Okay, get a train, Yes, you are going to have
- 33:41Speaker 3: a train.
- 33:42Speaker 8: Did you think no?
- 33:43Speaker 3: Well no, I didn't think you were going to And
- 33:45Speaker 3: that's awesome.
- 33:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:46Speaker 3: Are you gonna have a veil?
- 33:48Speaker 2: Yeah, oh that's awesome.
- 33:50Speaker 8: Any other questions, Uh, garter.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Yes, okay, this is.
- 33:55Speaker 4: Something blue, something borrowed, and something new.
- 33:58Speaker 8: Yeah, my grandma just said she has her handkerchief. I
- 34:00Speaker 8: think she's like eighty five. Her handkerchief from when she
- 34:03Speaker 8: was eighteen years old, and it's blue and it's old.
- 34:06Speaker 3: So and her grandparents are letting me wear their pocket
- 34:08Speaker 3: walk I know.
- 34:09Speaker 8: I was like, you kind of have the old and
- 34:10Speaker 8: borrowed covered because it's my grandma's dad's pocket watch. It's
- 34:14Speaker 8: this vintage cool pocket watch. So he's gonna be wearing that.
- 34:17Speaker 6: And I also have a ceremony interception outfit. I'm changing
- 34:19Speaker 6: between the two.
- 34:20Speaker 5: Yes, here, you are so Dean, like, there's a lot
- 34:22Speaker 5: of talk around your outfit because you wanted to wear
- 34:25Speaker 5: some silly stuff like what is that called? Like those
- 34:28Speaker 5: things with strings that cowboys wear around their neck.
- 34:31Speaker 2: Dean and I wore these the VMA's together. Yeah, and
- 34:36Speaker 2: with a T shirt. Oh no, we looked really good
- 34:39Speaker 2: at that.
- 34:40Speaker 3: I remember that VMA Awards. That was pretty funny. Yeah.
- 34:44Speaker 3: I my style is bad.
- 34:47Speaker 6: It gets worse every year. I feel like I used
- 34:49Speaker 6: to be semi stylish. I've not really so much anymore.
- 34:51Speaker 6: But yeah, I've got a bunch of bolow ties that
- 34:54Speaker 6: I'm gonna decide on the day of, and I've got
- 34:58Speaker 6: a long tail tuxedo with shock. Caitlyn wasn't really super
- 35:02Speaker 6: keen on it first, but I think she's maybe come
- 35:03Speaker 6: around on it. But that was the reason I got
- 35:05Speaker 6: I got a second talx just in case the long
- 35:07Speaker 6: tail ends up feeling silly the day of, so then
- 35:11Speaker 6: I'll just have a backup. But I don't think it will,
- 35:13Speaker 6: and so that what I'll do is I'll just change
- 35:14Speaker 6: between them between the ceremony and the reception. But yeah,
- 35:18Speaker 6: my style is it's not about me obviously that day
- 35:21Speaker 6: at all, but it is, well, it's about you.
- 35:24Speaker 3: All eyes are going to be on you. That's perfectly fine.
- 35:26Speaker 4: It's about us.
- 35:28Speaker 3: It's about us.
- 35:28Speaker 8: I'm not marrying myself.
- 35:29Speaker 6: Sure you're not, but I'm just saying, like, all of
- 35:31Speaker 6: the attendees are going to be looking.
- 35:33Speaker 3: At you, not looking at me.
- 35:35Speaker 8: They'll be looking at you.
- 35:36Speaker 3: They're not not even going to realize that I changed
- 35:38Speaker 3: TUXI does.
- 35:39Speaker 4: But you are going to wear the bow? Wellow, how
- 35:41Speaker 4: do you say.
- 35:41Speaker 5: Itlolo and Caitlyn. You didn't want him to, but now
- 35:45Speaker 5: you're cool.
- 35:47Speaker 4: I like it.
- 35:47Speaker 8: With his second outfit. But the first outfit it should
- 35:49Speaker 8: be more formal with a bow tie or something.
- 35:51Speaker 4: You look great in a bow tie. I know John
- 35:54Speaker 4: Johnson comes out, he.
- 35:55Speaker 8: Thinks it's so basic. But I saw Sophia Bush. Her
- 35:58Speaker 8: wedding was so beautiful. It was bed What do you mean.
- 36:01Speaker 4: They're being divorced?
- 36:03Speaker 8: Oh? Sei is okay?
- 36:06Speaker 4: He was just really cool bow tie.
- 36:07Speaker 8: It was like, I think it's called a western bow tie.
- 36:10Speaker 8: It's like a thinner one and it's.
- 36:11Speaker 4: Actually like a bow. Oh yeah, that.
- 36:14Speaker 8: Sounds ugly, but it looks cool and it droops down.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll get I mean, I'm gonna buy a bow tie.
- 36:18Speaker 3: I'm going to have options, that's the thing.
- 36:20Speaker 6: But my my instinct and my intuition is telling me
- 36:22Speaker 6: to wear the bolo tie, to wear the long tail.
- 36:26Speaker 8: I like the long tail with the bow tie, and
- 36:27Speaker 8: then bulletie for the second.
- 36:29Speaker 3: We'll see. That's the thing. I can cycle through the options.
- 36:31Speaker 4: Okay, so many things to decide in just nine days.
- 36:34Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna have been in the in the room
- 36:36Speaker 6: helping me get dressed, and he can tell me what
- 36:37Speaker 6: he thinks looks best and what doesn't look good.
- 36:39Speaker 2: So I mean, I did you well. I remember when
- 36:42Speaker 2: Diana and I chose he was together. Yeah, he was
- 36:47Speaker 2: my date to an awards show, and I didn't I
- 36:51Speaker 2: didn't like know what to wear to this thing. I
- 36:53Speaker 2: had no idea, So I texted Diana. I was like,
- 36:55Speaker 2: what do you wear to a red carpet show when
- 36:57Speaker 2: everybody's taking pictures and everybody's going to be like better
- 37:01Speaker 2: looking and more suave than you and I? And we're like,
- 37:04Speaker 2: let's go T shirts, jackets, bulow ties and just see
- 37:08Speaker 2: where it takes us. And we did, and we might
- 37:10Speaker 2: have got best dressed. We definitely pulled it off.
- 37:13Speaker 6: And the fact that we both like matched but didn't
- 37:16Speaker 6: match was was a big selling point as well. I
- 37:18Speaker 6: remember one thing that sticks out to me about that
- 37:20Speaker 6: night was I had just gotten a new haircut and
- 37:22Speaker 6: I think, like, maybe I did it myself or my
- 37:24Speaker 6: friend did it, and it just looks so bad.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Guys.
- 37:30Speaker 4: It was the American Music Awards. I didn't think, like
- 37:33Speaker 4: the v.
- 37:34Speaker 2: We weren't cool enough to get invited to the VMA's
- 37:37Speaker 2: that what you're saying.
- 37:38Speaker 4: And now I see this and this is what.
- 37:40Speaker 2: They're saying, Oh it looks good.
- 37:43Speaker 4: Oh I'm gonna send this to you guys. Did you
- 37:45Speaker 4: google it too?
- 37:46Speaker 8: This does look good, way better than I don't know
- 37:48Speaker 8: why I was picturing you guys wear your like cow
- 37:50Speaker 8: shirt and wolf shirt with a bolo tie.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Well, I tell you what, you two are a beautiful couple.
- 38:01Speaker 2: We're very excited to be there to celebrate with the
- 38:03Speaker 2: two of you. In fact, final questions, you're going on
- 38:07Speaker 2: a honeymoon. I'm assuming. I don't know anything about this.
- 38:09Speaker 2: I haven't heard about it. Are you leaving right away?
- 38:12Speaker 2: Where are you going?
- 38:13Speaker 8: No, we are going to South Africa in December, and
- 38:15Speaker 8: Dean on our podcast just told me for the first time,
- 38:18Speaker 8: we're doing a mini moon and we're going to Madeira.
- 38:21Speaker 8: I'm really excited.
- 38:22Speaker 4: About sweet plan.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Mini moon.
- 38:24Speaker 6: Yeah, mini moon, well, just because it's how the Africa
- 38:26Speaker 6: wouldn't happen till December.
- 38:27Speaker 3: That's so far away.
- 38:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Are we still going to Hawaii together?
- 38:30Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 38:31Speaker 8: In October. I'm pumped.
- 38:32Speaker 2: In October then, yeah, we're going to Hawaii together.
- 38:36Speaker 6: So I actually we were falling asleep last night and
- 38:39Speaker 6: I was like, do you think Ben's going to bring
- 38:40Speaker 6: his golf clubs to Hawaii?
- 38:41Speaker 3: And I don't know, you should ask it. So, Ben,
- 38:43Speaker 3: are you going to bring our golf clubs to Hawaii?
- 38:45Speaker 2: I am buddy.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Yeah, let's go. Let's go. Hey, we love you so much.
- 38:51Speaker 2: One more questions.
- 38:52Speaker 7: I have to interrupt you because I see another weird
- 38:54Speaker 7: one on the rundown.
- 38:55Speaker 2: That must be.
- 38:57Speaker 5: Dean after the wedding due plan on reversing you.
- 39:04Speaker 6: Oh man, that's just gonna be half that. We have
- 39:06Speaker 6: to talk about that. I guess at some point.
- 39:09Speaker 4: The iHeart producers know way too much about you.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Wait, why I didn't know. I didn't know you had
- 39:13Speaker 2: a vasectomy.
- 39:15Speaker 6: I don't, but I might get one after the wedding,
- 39:16Speaker 6: just so I could reverse it, Dean, just but just
- 39:19Speaker 6: so I could reverse it, get it done.
- 39:21Speaker 4: So hot and.
- 39:21Speaker 8: Cold, He's like, I want kids.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Maybe I don't.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, we want to.
- 39:25Speaker 4: Get one so you can say he reversed it. Yes.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Yeah, So that's just stupid because I have buddies that
- 39:30Speaker 2: are at their age where they're getting them. Dean, don't
- 39:33Speaker 2: do that to yourself. There's so much to that, Like it.
- 39:35Speaker 4: Hurts, no guarantee the bes.
- 39:38Speaker 6: It's so funny how hot and cold we've been as
- 39:40Speaker 6: a couple too, like she really wanted kids. When we
- 39:41Speaker 6: first started, I didn't, and now I really want kids
- 39:44Speaker 6: and she doesn't, and so it's just it's gonna be
- 39:47Speaker 6: I do.
- 39:47Speaker 2: I'm just we're not.
- 39:48Speaker 6: Yeah, we're not ready yet, but both my brothers are
- 39:52Speaker 6: so many years and seeing them be parents has like
- 39:56Speaker 6: lit this fire within me. And we like thought maybe
- 40:00Speaker 6: we were pregnant like a month ago, but then we
- 40:03Speaker 6: turned out not to be, and I was like really
- 40:04Speaker 6: sad about it. You were, yeah, of course as that,
- 40:07Speaker 6: and Kaitlyn was like screaming it from the rooftop, was
- 40:09Speaker 6: like and over, I'm like sulking in the corner over here.
- 40:13Speaker 2: It's weird that you thought she was pregnant when you
- 40:15Speaker 2: guys haven't had heard immaculate conception.
- 40:20Speaker 4: Right, guys.
- 40:22Speaker 5: Okay, I don't want to be the mom that now
- 40:24Speaker 5: like tells all my other friends that they need to
- 40:28Speaker 5: have kids, because I've already do this with Ben often.
- 40:30Speaker 5: But listen, you guys are definitely meant to be mom
- 40:33Speaker 5: and dad someone.
- 40:35Speaker 2: But like he's just playing, let's just do it, because
- 40:37Speaker 2: like Dean and I are about the same age, Kaylin
- 40:39Speaker 2: and Jess about the same age. Let's just plan this out.
- 40:41Speaker 2: At the same time.
- 40:43Speaker 6: What's your timeline, Ben, I don't know, soon probably yeah,
- 40:47Speaker 6: well okay, well let's just keep us posted on the schedule.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Everything sorted out in Hawaii? Yeah, there we go, everyono
- 40:58Speaker 2: can see. Yeah, wouldn that'd be great to Hawaii babies.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Very confusing.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Hey, we're very Yeah, we're very excited for the two
- 41:06Speaker 2: of you. This has been a long time coming. We
- 41:09Speaker 2: cannot wait to celebrate with you. I know our listeners
- 41:11Speaker 2: are excited to see the pictures. Uh, Dean, I hope
- 41:14Speaker 2: you're posting all the wedding pictures and not just mountain pictures.
- 41:18Speaker 6: It'd be nice to finally get a new post up,
- 41:20Speaker 6: but that's not on top of a mountain.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Ye. So but until well, lessen two weeks from now.
- 41:29Speaker 2: We'll see you soon. Thanks, thanks for having us, guys.
- 41:31Speaker 4: We love you, baby, you guys very excited.
