- 0:58We don't have a drop for the graphic.
- 1:01We got the stat of the week. Here.
- 1:03He is Einstein himself. Speedy can give it to you,
- 1:07whether is we're talking basketball, football, baseball,
- 1:11UFC, hockey, he's got it all. Speedy.
- 1:14We're going to stay with preseason week one for our
- 1:18interesting stat of the week. Go forward speeding.
- 1:22All right, so I'll go. I'm going to actually take it a
- 1:24little different direction. It's not all NFL related, but
- 1:27the kick that didn't count for the longest field goal in NFL
- 1:30history, Cam Little 70 yard field goal.
- 1:33It's not in the NFL record books because it's a preseason.
- 1:35So it was 4 yards longer than the longest NFL kick that was
- 1:38me, which is Justin Tucker at 66 yards.
- 1:41But here's the interesting fact. They were actually 2 not only in
- 1:44college football but also high school football that were longer
- 1:47than Justin Tucker. 66 longer yard kick which is the NFL
- 1:52record. So the college football record
- 1:54in 1976 was an Abilene Christian kicker named OV Johansson.
- 1:58Sounds like a hockey name, but 69 yards?
- 2:01OV Mohali, What are you talking about?
- 2:03That's a football name. I know.
- 2:04But the way it's spelled, it's OVE.
- 2:05And then it's Johansson. Like it's felt like a hockey
- 2:08name. Like, it definitely sounds like
- 2:10that 69 Yarders in 1976, That is the college football record.
- 2:14And then there was a high school kicker named Dirk Borgnon who
- 2:18did it. Shout out to Reno, Johnny's
- 2:20hometown in Reno High School in Nevada in 1985 to get 68 yards
- 2:25longer than any other NFL kick ever made until now. 70 yards by
- 2:29Cam Little in the preseason. Interested Cam Little breaking
- 2:33records early? Who cares Preseason, do it in a
- 2:39playoff game, do it in a Super Bowl game, do it in the, I don't
- 2:43know, the AFC or NFC title game. And then we could talk shut the
- 2:46music. I'm done.
- 2:47I, I will say this, Justin Tucker, I'm interested to see
- 2:51what happens to his career after all the things that we've heard
- 2:55over the last year. And I'm interested.
- 2:57I, I, he's out what he was he suspended for 10 games?
- 3:00Yes. Has he been signed by anybody?
- 3:02It's interesting when he does become available.
- 3:05What? They're not going to sign them.
- 3:07They're going to stay away from like they did Josh Brown.
- 3:09He had a bad year last year, Tucker, And it doesn't matter
- 3:12how good you were if last year you weren't able to kick it.
- 3:16They don't. They don't usually just go back
- 3:17to the well because he was a veteran.
- 3:19He was like, he's going to go to Hall of Fame before this
- 3:22happened, right? If he was just on the stats,
- 3:25he's probably the best kicker ever.
- 3:26Hold on one second. Deshaun Watson gets a chance to
- 3:29play again and this guy can't because he's he doesn't have a
- 3:33contract. That's ridiculous.
- 3:35This guy was a better player at his position than Deshaun Watson
- 3:39was. And I do believe Justin Tucker
- 3:41will get another shot. I do.
- 3:43There'll be a team out there. Pittsburgh obviously couldn't
- 3:46stand Justin Tucker because you always kill them in games.
- 3:49I could see Pittsburgh doing it A Kansas City, Andy Reed, maybe
- 3:54Philadelphia. They're an organization that
- 3:56takes shots on players. They'll do it in a year and a
- 3:59half. How about the Cowboy?
- 4:00A. Year and a half they can't do
- 4:01it. It's toxic.
- 4:02That's how the NFL works. They all pretend like these guys
- 4:06are untouchable. A year and a half later, once
- 4:08enough people forgot about it, that the the drama, if they do
- 4:12it will pass. It'll just be a blurb move on.
- 4:16They'll sign these guys. The punt God, right?
- 4:18The punt God from college. He, he was, he got drafted.
- 4:21There was this whole thing. It turned out not to be true.
- 4:24It took him what, 2 years to get back in the league?
- 4:26With the Chiefs last year. Right took him a couple of
- 4:29years. It's going to be the same for
- 4:31him look and I and I don't think it was fake like we heard with
- 4:35the punt God, what's going on here with Tucker.
- 4:37It was the same thing with Deshaun Watson.
- 4:39When you hear one or two people maybe when it's like dozens
- 4:42saying the same thing. There's a lot of smoke where
- 4:44there's fire, and no one's going to take a chance on a guy who
- 4:47had the worst year of his career without what he.
- 4:50Does in his private life should be nobody's problem.
- 4:54And honestly, it didn't hurt his game on a football field.
- 4:58He's been doing it for years now.
- 4:59This year he didn't have a good season.
- 5:01We've seen a lot of kickers have bad seasons and then come back
- 5:05and they they don't miss one. This guy's the greatest kicker
- 5:07of all time. I'm telling you right now,
- 5:10there's going to be a team in 10 games that are going to stand
- 5:13out there and say, you know what, we need a kicker for the
- 5:15playoffs. We need somebody that we know is
- 5:17going to be dead on. And I could see Washington, one
- 5:20of these teams, if they lose a kicker early in the season,
- 5:22they're looking for a * kicker. Justin Tucker is going to be on
- 5:25that list of guys, right, right on, right on that piece of paper
- 5:30that you're gonna want to bring in to kick that ball.
- 5:32So I disagree with you, Fish. I don't care what he's done.
- 5:35This isn't Deshaun Watson. And by the way, Deshaun Watson
- 5:38got another chance and he got a big contract from the Browns.
- 5:41So what's it? What is it different from?
- 5:43Well. Maybe that's where he's kicking.
- 5:45Maybe they'll go over like, oh, I we need a kicker, Cleveland.
- 5:50I know a guy who's available. Let's just take Justin Tucker.
- 5:52Why would it matter? Everyone thinks we're a joke
- 5:54anyway. I don't think so.
- 5:56Why not? I think there'll be a playoff
- 5:57team out there that's going to give him a shot.
- 5:59He deserves it. I've heard a lot of good things
- 6:01about him personally, what he does for kids, what he does off
- 6:05the football field. I I understand he's not a what
- 6:09he's done over the last past year or what he's been accused
- 6:12of. Maybe it is true, but that's his
- 6:14private life and I think we need to to stop talking about his
- 6:18private life. What he does on a football field
- 6:20is completely different. It's not like he was beating his
- 6:22wife. Brown was.
- 6:25The Giants kept them on their roster for a certain amount of
- 6:27time. We saw what Rice did.
- 6:29We've seen what other kickers in the Kareem Hunt, cream Hunt
- 6:34kicked a woman. He has another job.
- 6:36So don't tell me because Justin Tucker had one bad season
- 6:40because of what he was doing off the field, going to the massage
- 6:44parlors and getting his, you know what, his load being
- 6:47pulled. But that's not what he was doing
- 6:49though. He didn't go to massage parlors.
- 6:51At massage parlors, that's expected.
- 6:53He hired regular massage therapists that are not expected
- 6:58to give you the old happy ending at the end of the massage.
- 7:01And it's sexual abuse and sexual harassment to do that.
- 7:05And it's a crime if they did it in charge.
- 7:07But they're they don't want them to put them in jail.
- 7:09They want the money. And that's how it's always going
- 7:12to be. So people know that look, he did
- 7:15this stuff. Let me ask you A.
- 7:16Question fish. Nobody's going to force you to
- 7:18do anything. If you pull out money and they
- 7:21want to do it, they're going to do it anyways, so.
- 7:24Illegal. It's.
- 7:25Illegal to do. That all right, it's illegal, OK
- 7:28and they took the money so put him in jail.
- 7:30If they if they have physical proof that he was doing it, then
- 7:35put him in jail. He's going to that that's the
- 7:37problem right now. It's money talks and again,
- 7:41these people that's all they're looking for is a high payday.
- 7:43We've seen this over and over and over again.
- 7:46We don't know the truth. All we know is there's people
- 7:49coming out that said that he has pushed them to do that.
- 7:53So again, it's all hearsay and and they're taking money and
- 7:57they're getting paid off and Justin Tucker is not in jail.
- 8:00So to me it's false information until proven otherwise.
- 8:04That's my opinion anyways. NFL whip around, ladies and
- 8:08gentlemen. Whip, whip, whip around.
- 8:14He tastes himself. Jabba's got a sour face on.
- 8:17I don't know what's going on right now.
- 8:19I got to get him. I got to get him a smile.
- 8:20What? They're a little sour today.
- 8:22I don't know what's going on with you today.
- 8:24Oh, no. Oh, your boy just said a Homer.
- 8:27Oh. Who's my boy jism?
- 8:30There it is, the old jizz pad. I'm going to need some pads
- 8:35after tonight anyways, let's go. All right, let's get into it.
- 8:41We'll start with the we're not going to spend too much time
- 8:44because it's the preseason, but the we're not going to say this
- 8:47too often. We didn't say it a lot last
- 8:49year. I don't think it happened one
- 8:50week at the same time where The Jets and Giants both won.
- 8:54Yes, they both won and they both looked pretty good in doing so.
- 8:59Russell Wilson was six of seven led the drive was, you know,
- 9:02nothing crazy, didn't really push it downfield was fine.
- 9:05Jackson Dart looked amazing for the Giants, 12 of 19154 yards
- 9:11pushing it downfield, including a perfect strike on the on a
- 9:14fade ball down the sideline into the end zone right in the bread
- 9:18basket. None of Darts receivers were
- 9:20playing and he still made it look good.
- 9:22So that was pretty exciting as a Giants fan.
- 9:23Also, Turbo Miller looks like he might be a nice little receiving
- 9:26back for the Giants as well. Out of the backfield as far as
- 9:30the Mets go and the Mets The Jets go and the.
- 9:33A lot of rhyme schemes here, but.
- 9:36Teams that have, that's another the Mets haven't won in a while.
- 9:38That's another shot at the New York Jets right there, ladies
- 9:42and gentlemen. I you guys are usually, I mean,
- 9:45not you, Errol, but most fans, it rhymes.
- 9:48You're the same colors, you like the same teams.
- 9:50I get it with the Mets and The Jets and the Nets.
- 9:52We all know. We all know that's why you like
- 9:54those teams. But The Jets, Justin Fields, 3
- 9:58of 442 yards, 2 carries, 14 yards rushing, touchdown.
- 10:03We saw it right away the very first time.
- 10:05No, it wasn't because his preseason is not going to run.
- 10:08That's a huge part of the offense.
- 10:10Braylon Allen, 8 carries. Donovan Edwards Never heard of
- 10:13this guy, but you know, 42 yards.
- 10:16Fields had that touchdown. He was one of the two Michigan
- 10:18running backs on the on the championship team.
- 10:20That's right, the backup Michigan running back.
- 10:22So Breeze Hall had a few carries, really nothing to
- 10:25sneeze at in the receiving stone.
- 10:27Smart back up tight end got a touchdown.
- 10:29He's been around the week for a little bit, guys.
- 10:32New York football starting off hot.
- 10:35Now, Aaron Glenn, I'll go to The Jets first.
- 10:38Aaron Glenn came and he spoke about the the game and he says a
- 10:41win is a win and it's not easy to win games in the NFL.
- 10:46So and he that's the way he was taught by Bill Parcells and as a
- 10:49player. So I respect Aaron Glenn coming
- 10:52out and saying that it's the preseason.
- 10:55I understand the offensive line look good.
- 10:57I know obviously Josh Silverberg called me and said did you watch
- 11:00the offensive line? Do you see what Membu looks
- 11:03like? Do you see what this team could
- 11:05be great? Let's see it in a regular season
- 11:09game. Let's see it when you're playing
- 11:10against top and defensive players.
- 11:13And again, they played very well against the top, top tier
- 11:17players in the first the first couple of plays.
- 11:20I have to see it in a full game now.
- 11:22I love what I see when when it comes to the quarterback play.
- 11:25I think that he is going to have many, many chances this year to
- 11:29be that kind of running quarterback, that aggressive
- 11:32quarterback. I think he's sensational.
- 11:34I think that's why I think The Jets are going to use him in
- 11:37spurts in that running game. I think they're going to have a
- 11:40tremendous tandem back there with Breece Hall and and Braylon
- 11:44and and and Braylon Allen. This team has as a three headed
- 11:48monster as far as far as the running back is the concern.
- 11:51I want to see Taylor. Taylor didn't play in this game.
- 11:54I want to see what this team is going to be at full full, you
- 11:57know, the full roster. I want to see what they are as a
- 12:01full roster. We haven't seen them as a full
- 12:03roster and I want to see if they're going to go after
- 12:06another wide receiver this offseason.
- 12:07They're they're Terry Mclaurin is a guy that a lot of people
- 12:10have been speaking about. He played with a quarterback
- 12:14over there with the New York Jets.
- 12:16I think there could be a possibility if that happens, The
- 12:19Jets have another guy that can make plays in the open field.
- 12:23And as far as the Giants concerned, I've already told you
- 12:25guys Jackson Dart's going to be a good player.
- 12:27I think he looks really, really good.
- 12:28I know it's the preseason, but I expect him to be fun to watch.
- 12:32A guy that can use his legs and make deep throws.
- 12:35I I've questioned the Giants defense still.
- 12:38I know it's still early. I think they've got one of the
- 12:41best defensive lineman in the league.
- 12:42They drafted a guy that's unique and a lot of people believe is
- 12:46going to be a game changing defensive player and I want to
- 12:50see what this offensive line is going to be in a full season,
- 12:52moving pieces and moving this guy to guard and moving this guy
- 12:55to tackle. I On paper it doesn't look good,
- 12:58but heck, when you have Jackson Dart or Russell Wilson where
- 13:03they can extend plays, maybe it's better than we think.
- 13:06I don't think the Giants are going to be good.
- 13:08I don't think The Jets are going to be good, but it's a good
- 13:10start in the preseason. I I think you have to give them
- 13:12a little bit of credit for what they did in game number one in
- 13:15the preseason. Yeah, The Jets offense
- 13:16definitely looks sharp on that drive where all the starters
- 13:19didn't end up playing. Like you said, you want to see a
- 13:21little more with somebody like Mason Taylor.
- 13:22You want to see more of a couple more of the youngsters in terms
- 13:25of the depth wise, offensive line, starting offensive line,
- 13:27definitely looking good. I think they had the 3rd or 4th
- 13:29high past blocking stats out of the preseason and they're going
- 13:34to use all their running back. I think they're definitely
- 13:35showing Aaron Glenn like Matt O'Leary was saying a few weeks
- 13:38ago. They're definitely going to use
- 13:40all three of those running backs that got reps in that game and
- 13:43don't be surprised today and rotating a lot more.
- 13:45And Justin Fields looks much sharper as a thrower.
- 13:49I think he had like 1 bad one. He held the ball too long and
- 13:51that was it. And since then he looked as good
- 13:53as we expected him to be out of the draft.
- 13:55Jackson Dart, I was tending to be on the pro side with him.
- 13:57He the way he made some intermediate throws definitely
- 14:00is encouraging for the Giants and it's just a matter of if he
- 14:02can get the overall accuracy. But definitely a good start.
- 14:05And Abdul Kar looked definitely looking good in his debut as
- 14:07well. Yeah, it was interesting too,
- 14:12because I like, I mean, pre season's always interesting
- 14:16because people either take it too seriously or don't take it
- 14:19seriously enough. I mean, for both The Jets and
- 14:21the Giants, we, you know, I, I obviously got a shout out my
- 14:23Nebraska guys, we had Fedoni did well.
- 14:26It's just like Fish and I were talking earlier.
- 14:28It's like if he can stay healthy, I mean, he's athletic
- 14:30and he can do some things. And then even for your Jets, he
- 14:34ended up at Kansas State. But Adrian Martinez said he was
- 14:3711 for he had basically the same numbers as Shudira Sanders.
- 14:39But we weren't talking like he's going to be the next thing's
- 14:42best thing since sliced bread. But yeah, no, there were there
- 14:46were guys in the limited amount of time that they played that
- 14:48that looked good. We're going to have to re
- 14:51reference this show going back into football season to see how
- 14:54many times we can say the Giants and The Jets both won.
- 14:56So we got to keep the tally. I think we should have an over
- 14:59under set here. I want to I want to say.
- 15:01Something .5. I want to, I want to say
- 15:04something to SC Thompson. I, I'm reading what he's saying
- 15:08and I'm not going to say what he's saying unless anybody is
- 15:11seeing it. I, I want to say something.
- 15:14I have nothing against Deion Sanders.
- 15:16I have nothing against Shadora Sanders, and I am not racist.
- 15:21I just want to let you, you know that I'm speaking what I see as
- 15:26a football mind. You might not think that and
- 15:29maybe you don't watch this show enough to understand that I have
- 15:31some knowledge in the game of football, but I'm going to tell
- 15:34you something. When I come out and I say what I
- 15:37say, I don't hold back on what I have to say and kiss anybodies
- 15:41brass ring. I have a lot of respect for Deon
- 15:44Sanders and I have a lot of respect for Shador, even making
- 15:48it to the NFL and dealing with what he's dealt with, with the
- 15:50media. To come out and say that I'm a
- 15:52racist and then I'm saying things to just because of that
- 15:57color is wrong. That's wrong.
- 15:59It's disrespectful to me. It's disrespectful to this show.
- 16:02I have nothing but my utmost respect for Prime and his son.
- 16:07So I don't know what you're talking about.
- 16:08And if you got nothing good to say, get the hell out of the
- 16:11scope. You know, Errol, I, I hate when
- 16:14people do that too. We're just commenting on a guy
- 16:17who's a flawed player and we think it's because he has not
- 16:19that he's a flawed upbringing of who he is as a man based on his
- 16:22culture. We're saying this guy had a lot
- 16:24of attention. He had a lot of things given to
- 16:26him and entitlements that were given to him that a lot of
- 16:29people don't have. Almost nobody gets this.
- 16:31And because of that, let's face it, there's some things about
- 16:35him that just didn't work with the NFL owners, the NFL coaches
- 16:39that led him to fall, that led him to have that interaction
- 16:42with the reporter after he played well the other day that
- 16:46there's issues with him. And it's not that that we are
- 16:49rooting against him. We just, you got to be real.
- 16:51The guy is kind of acts like a fool at times and he should
- 16:55really be a good player and he if he works on it, he probably
- 16:59will. I'm rooting for a lot of issues.
- 17:01I'm rooting for him. I'm not putting him down.
- 17:05But I, I'm, I'm hurt that somebody would go out there and
- 17:08attack me because you think I'm a racist.
- 17:11I am not a racist. Never been, never been.
- 17:15I have nothing but my utmost respect for every single player
- 17:18that comes on the show. White, Puerto Rican, Haitian,
- 17:23African American, I have nothing but my utmost respect for every
- 17:27single player that comes on this show.
- 17:29For you to come out and say that about me, you have no idea who
- 17:32you're talking about. And by the way, I was at the
- 17:35Super Bowl, were you? Were you at Radio Row and seeing
- 17:38what Shadora Sanders was doing with his entourage?
- 17:41No. Until you know what you're
- 17:43talking about, don't attack me on my own show.
- 17:46Don't attack Jabba on his own show.
- 17:49Don't track anybody. If you don't know what you're
- 17:51talking about, don't speak. Absolutely listen because maybe
- 17:57maybe you'll learn something. I'm sorry fans, I just have to
- 18:01speak up because I'm tired of people attacking me on social
- 18:04media saying that I'm a racist. I am not a racist, never was and
- 18:08never will be. There's a lot of people who have
- 18:11an issue with Dion, but we talk about all the time because.
- 18:14It bothers the hell out of me. This bothers the hell out of me.
- 18:18Guys, next one, let's just go in order.
- 18:21We're going to go Sunday, the most recent games first.
- 18:24So we had the Bears and Dolphins ended up in a tie because let's
- 18:28face it, who cares to play overtime or actually make it
- 18:30figure out. And the Chargers defeated the
- 18:33Saints. Tyler Shuck threw a pick 6 for
- 18:37who's supposed to be the starter they thought he might start.
- 18:40It looks really dicey in New Orleans early.
- 18:43Jake Hayner was taking a lot of the first team reps Don't think
- 18:47anyone expected that. They don't have a quarterback.
- 18:49The Chargers look good. Obviously they lost Slater, but
- 18:53preseason it's not going to matter.
- 18:54And then we have the Dolphins and Bears.
- 18:56No Caleb Williams in this one. Why they held him out, I do not
- 19:00know, but I guess they didn't want to see him this week.
- 19:03Ben Johnson didn't play him. Beijing got in, was fine.
- 19:07As far as stats in that game, again, we didn't really saw the
- 19:10great Zach Wilson, 5 for 996 yards.
- 19:14Quinn, yours look terrible, 5 for 18.
- 19:17You know, just nothing really special from this game
- 19:21whatsoever. But I do want you guys to talk a
- 19:23little bit about this Saints debacle.
- 19:25The Spencer Rattler has just a good chance to be there starting
- 19:28quarterback as Tyler Shuck or Jake Hayner.
- 19:32Spencer Rattler is the biggest idiot, the biggest fool, and the
- 19:37fact that the Saints believe that he can win the job with
- 19:40some, with some of the young guys that they brought in in in
- 19:43the draft to end in the offseason, makes you wonder if
- 19:47the Saints actually know what they're doing as an
- 19:49organization. Spencer Rattler has been a
- 19:51cocky, soba guy that's gone out there and thinking that he's
- 19:55better than he is. We saw him over there in South
- 19:57Carolina. We've seen him when he decided
- 20:00to choose from one school to another and decided to go into
- 20:03the portal. I thought he was good in South
- 20:05Carolina. Obviously in the other school
- 20:07that he played for, he couldn't cut it.
- 20:09I just think Spencer Rattler is not an NFL quarterback.
- 20:12He I think is a backup quarterback, maybe a third
- 20:16string quarterback. And the Saints are put in a
- 20:18situation now where they're going to be reaching and that's
- 20:21why Moore took the job because he has nothing to worry about
- 20:23right now. The Saints are going to be bad
- 20:25for the next three to four years.
- 20:27They're going to have to rebuild.
- 20:28And Moore is going to have a voice of understanding on how he
- 20:32wants to build his team. And by the way, this is a guy
- 20:35that really couldn't cut it until he went to the
- 20:38Philadelphia Eagles to win a Super Bowl.
- 20:40So it just tells you one thing. He went to a good team with a
- 20:43good coaching staff to win a Super Bowl.
- 20:46When he was over there with the Cowboys.
- 20:47He couldn't cut it with backup quarterbacks and he couldn't
- 20:50make that Prescott in the quarterback we thought he could
- 20:52have been as, but other teams and other other coaches have.
- 20:56So it just tells you what Moore is, and I just think, honest to
- 21:00God, I think Spencer Rattler is an absolute joke.
- 21:02Yeah, Kellen Moore has always been a coach that's kind of
- 21:04gotten too cute at certain points with the Cowboys, I
- 21:07think, even when they're off. He was a backup quarterback in
- 21:09the NFL. He wasn't supposed to be much of
- 21:11anything in the NFL. He was like a fifth or sixth
- 21:12round pick. Yeah, it was a good statistical
- 21:14quarterback at Boise State, fine.
- 21:15But like, I don't think anyone expected him to be anything
- 21:17besides a backup quarterback. But yeah, his play calling was
- 21:20very, he almost overthought things a lot of the time.
- 21:23And I guess with the Saints, maybe you're kind of stuck doing
- 21:25that anyway. But still like this quarterback
- 21:27room is not very good. But at all Hainer, I think it's
- 21:29the best upside of the three and I don't even think much of him.
- 21:32Fish, you mentioned Slater, That's going to be interesting
- 21:34to see how they manage that. They still have Joe Alton, that
- 21:37offensive line and Zion Johnson, who's good.
- 21:39But losing him, can they be able to make it work from a coaching
- 21:42perspective offensively with a whole new staff all at once?
- 21:45And Caleb Williams, again, he's learning a tough system.
- 21:48I don't mind him sitting out a preseason game and he's trying
- 21:50to watch. Maybe Caleb Williams is hurt.
- 21:53Maybe he stubbed his toe. Why does everybody that sees a
- 21:56video or is out there looking at videos of what he's throwing at
- 22:00practice just absolutely declare that's why they're sitting him
- 22:03out? He's an absolute joke.
- 22:05Guys, stop wiping your own ass or having your wife wipe your
- 22:08ass or having your girlfriend wipe your ass and stop sneezing
- 22:12when you shouldn't be sneezing. The fact is, Caleb Williams sat
- 22:15out because maybe the coaching staff thinks he's not healthy
- 22:19enough to play. How about that?
- 22:21And as far as Zach Wilson's concerned, what a joke. 5 for
- 22:25996 yards and everybody's bragging about, oh look how good
- 22:30Jack Wilson is. It's a preseason game against
- 22:33second tier players. Zach Wilson sucks.
- 22:39That's from a Jet fan. Yeah, it's, it's just, it's hard
- 22:44for me to really get into these because it's like, yeah, it's
- 22:48kind of like the early days of spring training for baseball.
- 22:50Like you see the one at bat and then you're like, OK, I'm I'm
- 22:53done. So yeah, I mean it, it's tough
- 22:56seeing it. And Errol, you're right.
- 22:58It's like, you know, they see one video or they read one thing
- 23:01off the Internet and it's like all in, like, Oh yeah, did you
- 23:03see? Yeah, he's done.
- 23:04Like he, he's got the he's got the yips he can't throw.
- 23:08Oh, he's hurt. Like they they think just
- 23:10because they see it, it's actually really what's going on
- 23:12when usually, you know, half the time, if not more, it's them
- 23:16just either precautionary or like speedy said, it's like,
- 23:19Hey, maybe he's going to learn more right now by just putting
- 23:22eyes on, you know, this game and seeing stuff and, you know,
- 23:26trying to break it down from a different angle and and vantage
- 23:28point of being on the field. So yeah, it's pre season is
- 23:32weird for me because you you watch the the first guys go in,
- 23:36you're really not playing against, you know, what you're
- 23:38going to play against. So it's hard to tell but at
- 23:40least it's we got till the middle of January where football
- 23:44is on every week, so we got something to talk about.
- 23:48All right, we'll talk about it. Games don't have too much
- 23:50bearing, just some basic storylines.
- 23:52Let's start off here. Vikings knocked off the Texans.
- 23:56In fact, let me get to the actual scores here.
- 23:58Vikings over the Texans with a final of 20 to 10.
- 24:02We had the Steelers 31 over the Jaguars 25.
- 24:06We saw that 70 yard field goal by Cam Little.
- 24:09Rookie kicker was drafted this year.
- 24:12If you're going to draft a kicker, I hope if you can kick
- 24:1470, I mean, Trevor Lawrence, how far do you have to get to kick a
- 24:1770 yard field goal? What is that the 40?
- 24:19Your own 40. So I think it's 17 yards back
- 24:23from the end zone. So that would be, it's a 57.
- 24:28That would be, yeah, like behind.
- 24:31It's 3 yards behind midfield. Yeah, I don't know.
- 24:35I think that one is absolutely insane speed.
- 24:38I'm going to put you up here. You could start off, let's just
- 24:41talk a little bit about this Rams Cowboys matchup.
- 24:45There was a really, there was a funny play in the game and there
- 24:48was also the Cowboys. I guess people are excited about
- 24:52them. Joe Milton was OK playing back.
- 24:56I guess they think that he's going to be their backup
- 24:57quarterback, their receivers. We didn't really see their guys
- 25:01play in this game. Again, it's kind of tough to
- 25:03tell, but Stetson Bennett, yes, the Stetson Bennett 16 of 24.
- 25:10How old is he now? I think he's my age. 188 two
- 25:15touchdowns to pick but and 11 rushing yards.
- 25:21Is this guy someone that we're actually going to hear from
- 25:24Speedy? Well, before I get to that job,
- 25:26I think you might be the only journey big quarterback in
- 25:28college that might be older than Adrian Martinez first of.
- 25:31All no doubt, right? I was like Dang, I heard that he
- 25:34was like 29 when he came out. Again, Yeah, the system with big
- 25:38value obviously is going to be carrying over, but he's always
- 25:41been somebody that never plays the starters anyway.
- 25:42And there's a reason that a lot of these backup quarterbacks
- 25:44have done well in like filler roles a lot of the time, too.
- 25:47We obviously, the notable one being Baker Mayfield, that
- 25:49random game three years ago after he just got caught.
- 25:51But you saw them win a playoff game with John Werfel at
- 25:54quarterback. So it just proves they could do
- 25:56a lot of different things. The Cowboys, again, they're
- 25:59still trying to figure things out.
- 26:00Like I said, I like their draft and fitting that kind of scheme.
- 26:02They're going to need that team to be young all at once.
- 26:04So that's the way to do it. Why are we talking about Stetson
- 26:07Bennett? Really.
- 26:09Well, is this what we're telling this guy?
- 26:11Might look. Stafford Stafford has a broken
- 26:14back and Stetson Bennett might be next man up to start the
- 26:19season for a team that has playoff aspirations like it's
- 26:22for real. Hey, why?
- 26:24Why did you say broken back? I immediately went to Mike Tyson
- 26:27in his interview. It's spinal.
- 26:30It's final, final. The only time I remember Stetson
- 26:33Bennett is when he was carrying around a trophy and drinking a
- 26:37lot of champagne. When he wins the national
- 26:39championship, that's the only time I remember him winning
- 26:42something or actually cheering about anything.
- 26:45And by the way, his his girlfriend or maybe wife now is
- 26:48something to look at. That's about it.
- 26:50That's about all I I like to look at.
- 26:52So that's just my. We'll move on to the next one.
- 26:55We're not going to spend a lot of time on these games.
- 26:56But JJ McCarthy for the Vikings, first action in a long time
- 27:01coming back from that knee injury.
- 27:02Saturday, Part 2, we got the Bucks beat up on the Titans.
- 27:06Cam Ward looked good in limited time starting off that game, LED
- 27:10a touchdown drive on this on his second of two drives.
- 27:13But the Bucks won Cardinals over the Chiefs, Broncos all over the
- 27:1949ers. So the Broncos on this one, the
- 27:22Broncos, 49ers, 1, the 49ers. And I'm going to talk about it a
- 27:25little bit later in the sports minute.
- 27:27They are. And it's not even a joke, Errol.
- 27:30They got nobody left already. Their whole receiver core is
- 27:34decimated, the entirety of it. And the Broncos, as we said,
- 27:39might have the best defense going into the league next year.
- 27:43They blew him out 30 to 9. Even in pre season it wasn't
- 27:47competitive. Jared Stidham didn't most of the
- 27:49work for that one. Every 49ers quarterback through
- 27:53an interception. I don't know if you know if
- 27:56you've ever heard of Tanner Mordecai, but usually it's not
- 27:59very good, not very good. So.
- 28:02I want to say something about for all the 49er fans, Owen who
- 28:07has not showed his face on this show for a while, who should be
- 28:12wearing a dress in a wig and some lipstick on this show
- 28:15because he lost a very known bet.
- 28:18Let me tell you something, Kyle Shanahan's going to be looking
- 28:22for a new job after this season. This team is not good.
- 28:26This roster is a bunch, has a bunch of old players, washed up
- 28:30players, and they're going to be asking for their way out at the
- 28:33end of the season. John Lynch is going to realize
- 28:35he's better in the booth as a broadcaster than AGM, and this
- 28:39team's going to be looking for a new GM and a new coach at the
- 28:42end of the season. This is what I think is going to
- 28:45happen to Kyle Shanahan. That's what I think about the
- 28:4949ers. Well, overrated and not very
- 28:53good. So spit on that or spin on
- 28:56something, Owen, where if you're listening, Owen, you could spit
- 28:59on whatever you want. I'll buy you a bottle of
- 29:01champagne of crystal. If the 49ers actually make the
- 29:05playoffs, then I'll make it. Anything they stake as Kyle
- 29:09Shanahan is one of the most overrated coaches in the NFL.
- 29:14As I've been selling to all the fans, including anybody listens
- 29:18to show. So anybody that has challenged
- 29:20my personality and my back end with my football knowledge, kiss
- 29:26this. That's what I'm going to say.
- 29:29Kyle Shanahan sticks. All right, I'll take it from the
- 29:33positive standpoint from the Broncos.
- 29:34They were one of my favorite offseasons and I thought
- 29:36drafting wise too, they got a lot of really good depth.
- 29:39You saw RJ Harvey, who was their second round pick, a little one
- 29:41that I wasn't sure about in terms of the skill set
- 29:43perspective. We got a lot of the first team
- 29:45reps with that offensive line did a very good job.
- 29:47And obviously you saw the Richard I Baron and even some of
- 29:50the draft picks they've had the last couple years on that
- 29:52defense really do well. We talked about Zach Allen last
- 29:55week, Fish and obviously they have a lot of other.
- 29:57Stars but. The well roundedness of this
- 29:59defense is really starting to come together and the offense
- 30:02now getting another year in Peyton's scheme.
- 30:04This is a scary team to watch. Obviously you look at the AFC
- 30:06with the big three, the Ravens, the Bills.
- 30:07This dobber in the very. Team has a chance to challenge.
- 30:10One of those would be that next team.
- 30:11I think it is the Broncos and they're showing it right now.
- 30:14Suck my indo. What?
- 30:17What was that one? All right, so there's an inside
- 30:21joke to it. After we come back, I'll tell
- 30:23you why he said those words. I'll explain, but let's get
- 30:28let's move on. Let's move.
- 30:30On All Right, Friday's games, we had the Browns led by Shore.
- 30:35We already talked about it over the Panthers, the Patriots, all
- 30:39over the Commanders 4818. So kind of, you know, obviously
- 30:47just pre season, but Patriots, we had that fight and practice.
- 30:51Rabel gets bloodied, kind of get galvanizes the group.
- 30:55Watch out for the Patriots this year.
- 30:56I don't think they're a playoff team, but I think they're going
- 30:58to be a lot better than people expected, especially if Drake
- 31:01May takes a leap. People are expecting that Lions
- 31:04beat the Falcons. There was a real scary injury in
- 31:06that game. Luckily that guy is OK
- 31:09Apparently he was back in the facility a couple of days later
- 31:11talking to everybody. Anybody listens to this show
- 31:14about his his love, about Drake May thinking that he's going to
- 31:18be a top three quarterback in the league.
- 31:21Mikey C will be dancing around in this studio if he's right.
- 31:26Didn't he say with it? Was it?
- 31:27How many? Years.
- 31:28Three years. So this is your tale.
- 31:30Really. That's right.
- 31:31He said three years, Drake May will be a top three quarterback
- 31:34in this league. He's on drugs.
- 31:36I think Drake could be really good, but top three quarterback,
- 31:41now he's sniffing something. And whatever powder he's
- 31:43sniffing from Mexico or Amsterdam.
- 31:46Share some with me, Mikey, because you have no idea what
- 31:50you're walking into. And I want to ask Mikey see,
- 31:53when we do our fantasy draft if he's actually going to dig into
- 31:56his pants and draft Drake May when it comes to his quarterback
- 32:00play. I guarantee you he won't,
- 32:03because nobody's stupid enough to believe it, all right?
- 32:06Except Mike. And if Mikey sees right, he's
- 32:08going to be like, I'm not gave his head right?
- 32:11As I always say, eat shit, Mike. That's all I'm going to say.
- 32:16Yeah, first, first of all, our prayers up on Maurice Norris.
- 32:19Scary incident. I had to have that game.
- 32:21Suspended Mikey, you better listen to this, and I know
- 32:23you're listening to the show right now.
- 32:24Kiss this rear end. You're absolutely wrong and I'll
- 32:28make sure I'm not wiping when you're kissing it.
- 32:31And scary situation. So Maurice Norris prayers up to
- 32:34him. Hopefully he heals up well, as
- 32:36far as the actual lines of Falcons gave you the lines,
- 32:38actually a couple of rookies that I thought were reaches in
- 32:40the draft that did look very impressive.
- 32:42So a good sign of Brad Holmes what he's done as well.
- 32:44The Patriots has a reason that they're getting a popular win
- 32:47total like Greener Johnny was saying a couple weeks.
- 32:49Ago and a. Half wins are projected on the
- 32:51over, but the offensive line did look good and if the defense
- 32:54could hold up with a lot of new pieces, maybe you got something.
- 32:57I'm still a little skeptical, but you never know.
- 32:59Job I liked my shrimp cocktail. Yeah, I mean, it's it'll be
- 33:06interesting, like I said, to to see how this all comes out.
- 33:09I I I kind of want to see Drake may be good just to see how much
- 33:14he goes crazy. If he you're right, I think he
- 33:16could be top three. Yeah, he there must be
- 33:20something. His Kool-aid.
- 33:22Better than you got. That means you have to be able
- 33:25to be better than Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes.
- 33:31That's three. You have to be better than one
- 33:33of those 3. Guys, just Joe.
- 33:34Burrow and Jayden Daniels. And Joe Burrow is there too,
- 33:37Herbert and Jayden Daniels. There's guys I would say, but I
- 33:42think may will be better. So last one is just the Thursday
- 33:45games. Ravens over the Colts, Which
- 33:49Anthony Richardson dislocated his pinky?
- 33:52Later. He wanted to go back in.
- 33:55They wouldn't let him back in. Errol.
- 33:56It's preseason, that's how it is.
- 33:58Daniel Jones played afterwards and did the Daniel Jones.
- 34:01Tell you who looked good. Riley, Leonard.
- 34:03He looked good. Riley Leonard did look good
- 34:05again comparing him to Daniel Jones.
- 34:08By the way, I did reach out to Riley and he did respond to me.
- 34:13I he's just so busy and with with all these camps that he had
- 34:18he he's kind of pushed off the interview, but I am going to get
- 34:20him on this show. He will be on this show.
- 34:23I promise you guys, we're going to get Riley Leonard on this
- 34:26show. I'm just telling you, sell that
- 34:28book that. And yes, Jabba, when he comes on
- 34:31the show, Katherine can sweat all over him and kiss and blow
- 34:36kisses at him on camera. That will happen.
- 34:39Riley Leonard will be on this show, I promise you.
- 34:42I had to say that. So you guys got anything on the
- 34:46speeding? Yeah, I was going to say Riley
- 34:47Leonard. His big play in the game was a
- 34:4825 yard run. He threw an interception.
- 34:52He had some questionable throws, but again at the same time he
- 34:55also I think hit five in a row too, mostly a lot of those
- 34:57shorter passes, but did have a couple good left side
- 35:00intermediate throws as well, leading to a rushing touchdown
- 35:03in on that game. You got to play most of the
- 35:04second-half too, which is a good sign to say after Daniel Jones
- 35:08went through the whole Daniel Jones experiment, as we as we
- 35:10saw. But again, he might have to
- 35:11start if Richardson keeps getting hurt at this rate.
- 35:13Daniel Jones is going to stop. He's going to stop.
- 35:16I I don't know, I think he's, he may end up third on that depth
- 35:20chart because he's such a joke. But let's see if Anthony
- 35:24Richards. We're going to be ready for
- 35:25that. We're supporting Riley Leonard.
- 35:28I want to see absolutely. I want to see him play but I'm
- 35:32not going to take shots at Danny Dimes.
- 35:34I think Danny Dons might have an opportunity this year to
- 35:37actually show know that he could play at the quarterback
- 35:40position. He's had terrible coaching over
- 35:42there. That's so untrue.
- 35:44He was so bad and the coaching put him in great spots.
- 35:48He had guys wide open and he couldn't even throw the ball
- 35:51because especially that that flea flicker.
- 35:54I I lost my mind for Dabel, who lost his mind.
- 35:57He had everybody open on that play.
- 35:59That's just a quarterback who's shell shocked.
- 36:01He looked they had a bad line. He just isn't a good player
- 36:04anymore. Maybe he could fix it behind
- 36:06Quentin Nelson and those big, big boys in Indy, but if I'm in
- 36:10Indy, I'm running the ball 40 * a game with Jonathan Taylor
- 36:13because I think that's the only way they win guys.
- 36:16That's the whip around. I will say something and by the
- 36:19way, Carl asked me, 49ers, Vikings, who, who will have a
- 36:23better record this year? I will give you my take on it.
- 36:27The Vikings are going to have a better record this year.
- 36:29I think obviously McCarthy is going to get a chance to go out
- 36:32there and prove himself when Addison comes back after his
- 36:35three-game suspension. I think they're going to be very
- 36:38explosive. I think they have a lot of
- 36:40weapons. They can run the ball.
- 36:41I think they're going to have so many opportunities this year.
- 36:45And I think O'Connell is a great young coach.
- 36:48I think he's a great offensive mind.
- 36:50I think he's going to develop. McCarthy.
- 36:52I, I still question some of the moves that they made in the
- 36:55offseason, but I think the Vikings are a lot better than
- 36:57people think. And I think I remember Jim
- 37:00Harbaugh coming out and saying that whoever passes up on
- 37:03McCarthy is like they're passing up on Michael Jordan.
- 37:07I want to see if that is quite possible.
- 37:10We heard Debo, I saw Dabo Sweeney come out and say that
- 37:13about Watson. He was right about that until
- 37:15Watson was jerking his chicken or having people jerk his
- 37:18chicken. And you know, maybe Dabo Sweeney
- 37:21was jerking his chicken over there in Clemson.
- 37:24Nevertheless, I do believe, ladies and gentlemen, I think
- 37:28McCarthy is a lot better than people thought, including yours
- 37:31truly. I, I'm going to even say this,
- 37:33McCarthy is better than Drake May.
- 37:35How about that? Take that to the bank, Mr.
- 37:38Mikey. See, you can book that and send
- 37:42that off to the one and only Mice and Men.
- 37:44One of the only books I've ever read in the last 25 years.
- 37:48So that's the truth. That was the last book I
- 37:50actually read. Last novel I read Of Mice and
- 37:54Men. Are you really going to call
- 37:58that a novel? That's a novel.
- 38:00Is it an odd? It was.
- 38:02It's an. Odd.
- 38:02It has words on paper it. Didn't have it, didn't have
- 38:05pictures in it, so. Yeah, that's fair.
- 38:07I did. At least you didn't say green
- 38:09eggs and ham or something like. That No, I actually, those books
- 38:13I've read to my nephews. But Bernstein Bears.
- 38:15Yeah, but I mean, the last novel I have read was Of Mice and Men.
- 38:21That's where I was taking shots at myself.
- 38:22I don't really go out there and read books.
- 38:25It's not my thing. Jabba We did Doctor Seuss theme
- 38:28days in elementary school where we actually ate dyed green eggs
- 38:31in ham is. That I think.
- 38:34I think we did that one time too.
- 38:36Nice. I yes, and by the way, pitch
- 38:39grid pod over there, my my boy over here says that's a good
- 38:44book. It is a good book.
- 38:45It was a good movie too. So I I just.
- 38:48If you if you read, can you? Can you guys do audiobooks?
- 38:51Oh yeah, I listen to audiobooks. That that's something that I do.
- 38:55I'm talking about reading, actually reading a book.
- 38:59I, I read stories on the computer because they're short
- 39:03stories and stuff like that. But when it comes to a novel,
- 39:06the last novel I read was Of Mice and Men.
- 39:08That was the last one that'd make fun of myself.
- 39:11Everybody asked me, hey Errol, what was the last book you
- 39:13actually read Of Mice and Men? So there you go.
- 39:16Sell that book that it actually is a good book.
- 39:18I can't lie to you. And there's more in the book
- 39:21than there is in the movie that you'll probably grasp if you
- 39:24have an opportunity to read. I tried.
- 39:26To. It's always that way, yeah.
- 39:27You know what it is, I tried to reach Harry, read Harry Potter,
- 39:31and as soon as I started with the Harry Potter books, I just.
- 39:35I couldn't get into it as much as there's so much more
- 39:38information in the books than there is in the.
- 39:40Movies. Errol's not Reading The Odyssey.
- 39:43Pitch Grid Pod. The Odyssey.
- 39:46I've seen the odds. In Greek right there I.
- 39:48I I actually like Greek mythology.
- 39:50It's all over my arms, ladies and gentlemen, but I love Greek
- 39:53mythology and I know the odds. They're making a movie about it.
- 39:56It's coming out. Yeah, I know.
- 39:57But I've seen the old Odyssey, so I it's a good, it's a good
- 40:02series, a good miniseries. If you ever get a chance to see
- 40:04it, you can actually go back and see it on YouTube.
- 40:08I think it's the Odyssey is on YouTube.
- 40:10But it's a great story. It's a great book.
- 40:12And if you like Greek mythology, it's it's great.
- 40:14So, but I'm not going to sit there and read the Odyssey.
- 40:18That's not going to happen. Errol Marx doesn't read books.
- 40:21Especially books that make me sick or tired or want to cross
- 40:25I'm. You should do audiobooks then I
- 40:27do I should do audio book I. Listen to audiobooks.
- 40:30Did you not hear me? Did I not say that?
- 40:32I listen to audiobooks? I just don't read them.
- 40:35That's what I'm saying anyways. Ladies and gentlemen, we call
- 40:39the next segment Tic Tac No. Morris.
- 40:44Right in the butt. What?
- 40:46We get the prizes, cheat because they're stolen.
- 40:50No. No, no, no, no, no.
- 40:59Ball bag. I had to do that.
- 41:02I had to do. That, oh, that's still here for
- 41:04this. Little.
- 41:05Titties. Dildo, is that your cucumber or
- 41:08are you happy to see my lovely Sam?
- 41:11Or or. I like this.
- 41:13Breaking news, I need Brittany also.
- 41:15All right, so I want to say something.
- 41:18So me and, and we're talking on the weekend and we were having a
- 41:22conversation and I, he's Indian. So I was like, did you ever name
- 41:28your, you know what your, your private area?
- 41:30And he says no. So I said, well, you're an
- 41:33Indian. So let's call it an Indo.
- 41:36So I was like, suck my Indo, suck my Indo so that that's
- 41:40where it comes from. And I said, go ahead Jennifer,
- 41:42tell me how much you want people to suck your Indo.
- 41:45And he's like, what's an indoor? I said, what do you think your
- 41:47indoor is? It's your private area.
- 41:49I gave you a nickname. So ladies and gentlemen, suck my
- 41:53Indo is. Suck my indo.
- 41:57Is Nathan's private part, as we all know as by the way, Nathan's
- 42:02all known for this. I, I, I know Carl's never heard
- 42:05this. This is good for Carl.
- 42:06Carl plays with himself. As we all know, he does that
- 42:09too. So, ladies and gentlemen, are we
- 42:11ready to do Tic Tac? No.
- 42:13Speedy, what kind of questions do you have for us?
- 42:16We beat you pretty quickly last time, if I'm not mistaken,
- 42:19behind a heroic effort from myself.
- 42:21And I don't know who got the other question, but I got two of
- 42:23them. Speedy it was.
- 42:25No, it was poops. It was poops.
- 42:28Look, me and Poops are ready, Speedy.
- 42:30You better step up your game here on Tic Tac, no?
- 42:33I was going. To start with baseball.
- 42:35But since Errol brought up Davos Sweetie, I'll ask.
- 42:37I actually asked the one question I have with him.
- 42:38So Davos sweetie last week said Clemson could go 16 and oh, this
- 42:42year. So 2018 was the last time they
- 42:44went undefeated when they won the national championship with
- 42:46Trevor Lawrence winning every game by multiple possessions
- 42:49except for two games. So one of them was against an
- 42:50SEC team, the other was against an ACC team in their conference.
- 42:54Name one of those two teams that did that, Aaron and Jake, you
- 42:57can come in and play it so. Repeat, you said SCC one.
- 43:01ACC one SCC team. So in 2018 and.
- 43:04What did he do? What did?
- 43:06He do they played them close, only lost by 1 possession.
- 43:09So close games that they played. In Alabama, one of them.
- 43:13It is. Not.
- 43:15OK. So that's does it include the
- 43:16playoffs or no? Yes, any game that season.
- 43:23Huh. ACC and SEC so.
- 43:26Was it Pittsburgh? Nope, Jabba takes it up the yes
- 43:33ACC. And you said it in included
- 43:37playoffs. Yes.
- 43:40Pass Liquor who? Is that?
- 43:42Oh, I know who this is. I know exactly who it is.
- 43:45Gimme, Gimme, Florida State. That's called sex.
- 43:51When I don't know was was one of South Carolina?
- 43:53I hope not. Chocolate's a good flavor.
- 44:04So we just need to get one of them or do we get 2 guesses?
- 44:07We only have to get one of them. All right.
- 44:09No one said that the big the big boys that the Eagles have the
- 44:13entire D line of from irrelevant.
- 44:15Irrelevant. It's not.
- 44:16Georgia irrelevant. That's that's tough then.
- 44:20Yeah, because the word jizz is really structured.
- 44:23So who has left Java as a guest and?
- 44:24SECACC right? One SEC team, one ACC.
- 44:28Pain. Who is this?
- 44:32Yeah, goodbye. SEC.
- 44:38Let me go. No human is able to go well.
- 44:42Oh gosh, I'm going to throw one out.
- 44:45Won't. Sleep with a family member
- 44:49either. Oh no, they're not pro.
- 44:56Sexual crap. North Carolina.
- 45:00No, Aaron, I guess. If you want, anyone could.
- 45:06Take Aaron's guess. That's fair.
- 45:07That's fine. Nope.
- 45:08Whoever wants to make one more guess and one more guess.
- 45:13He can clean themselves. I mean, we should, we said
- 45:16Georgia. Should we just say the other big
- 45:17dog? I mean.
- 45:19We already said Alabama too. OK, nevermind.
- 45:21Beneficial. I was trying to think something
- 45:25off the hinges. I was like, I don't know the.
- 45:28Cross, we got to get our guesses in there. 30 seconds, guys.
- 45:30So it's time up. We said FSU, right?
- 45:34Did we say the FSU? Already.
- 45:35No, we didn't say but. You always let it RIP.
- 45:39For the daily lives and. It's not Florida, so Java was
- 45:43kind of on the right track. It was something more out there.
- 45:46So the SEC was Texas A&M and then and then the ACC one was
- 45:50Syracuse. Freaking daily.
- 45:52Syracuse never would have guessed that they always played.
- 45:55Clemson. Folks like three years in a row
- 45:57as they had the backup quarterback over there for a
- 45:59while. For me, and good for you, it's
- 46:01good for. Both, man.
- 46:02Speedy, you got us in that one. Where you going?
- 46:04I'm. Going to go in the middle, right
- 46:07in. All right.
- 46:09Next question, Speedy? All right, so Jabba, you were
- 46:11talking about it in the private chat earlier.
- 46:13The Brewers have the best record in baseball in this late in the
- 46:16year for the first time since 1982, when they made their only
- 46:19World Series appearance and lost to what Midwestern baseball team
- 46:2482. He is goofy.
- 46:32Midwestern team, so it's got to be say that again.
- 46:35So the Brewers the last time they had the best record in
- 46:37baseball this late in the year was 1982, when they made their
- 46:40only World Series appearance and lost to what other Midwestern
- 46:44baseball team they. Lost.
- 46:46What do you what do you consider Midwestern though?
- 46:49Wait, aren't they? Were they in the AL?
- 46:51To Mario. Midwest again you would
- 46:53probably, you could consider it probably where you are to Ohio
- 46:56probably. Chicks with Dicks.
- 46:58Probably fairer for that. I feel like this is a trick
- 47:04speedy. Were they on?
- 47:07The AL back then. Do you know a rooster is a cub?
- 47:12I believe they were in the AL back then.
- 47:13Does it go the right way or the left way?
- 47:16I prefer that one. That's.
- 47:17Pretty all right. Well, if it's the.
- 47:19If that's the case, 82. I want to do a whopping.
- 47:22I wasn't born yet, but Midwestern we, I mean, it's.
- 47:28Chicago to get the ass. Ain't the Cubs?
- 47:33Ohio. Thickness.
- 47:36Shave the ass. Beat shave the ass.
- 47:39Cardinals didn't. Win.
- 47:41I was going to guess Card like Cardinals.
- 47:44How Arnals? Distracted.
- 47:45Yep. Fish was the Cardinals.
- 47:47Whoa, you set? On that team, Midway 82.
- 47:50Slide it right in. Yeah, Fish is right.
- 47:52The angle I was going for was a trick question.
- 47:54How? Thick Do you like the beat?
- 47:56I'm on to you, Speedy. Because like you would think the
- 47:58Tigers, you think the twins like one of those AL teams first.
- 48:01I'll let you lick my butt. Tigers one in 84 a couple years
- 48:04later and the twins one in 87. All right, Java saving.
- 48:08Spins. Let's go bottom left.
- 48:12Bottom left next question speaking.
- 48:14Goody is goody in. I heard goody does your.
- 48:16Winner. Drop.
- 48:17That's not goody. That's his drop.
- 48:18All right, that was his drop. OK, so all right, we'll go to
- 48:20the NFL now. So I.
- 48:22Say your sex part. In the first four years of his
- 48:25career, Terry Mclaurin caught touchdown passes from 7
- 48:28different quarterbacks. What active wide receiver is the
- 48:31only one who caught more with eight?
- 48:34In the first four years in the. First four years of his career.
- 48:37Say that one more time the question.
- 48:38So Terry Mclaurin caught 7 touchdown passes from 7
- 48:42different quarterbacks. What active wide receiver is the
- 48:45only one who caught more doing it with eight different?
- 48:48Quarterbacks 8 different quarterbacks, Eight different
- 48:54quarterbacks. Huh.
- 48:59What? It feels like it should be
- 49:03someone on the Browns, doesn't it?
- 49:10I somebody I got for. Who's been well travelled but
- 49:15for for no wouldn't because his first four years so he wouldn't
- 49:19be traded. So it would be someone that just
- 49:21had a I'm. Going to take overturning
- 49:22quarterbacks. I'm going to take a lot of KBS.
- 49:24Stefan. Digs, not Stefan digs.
- 49:27Because I know, I know he had a couple of quarterbacks.
- 49:30He could. That was later on.
- 49:33What is it? Could it be more?
- 49:34I hope not. More not DJ Moore.
- 49:37All right, I'm going to. I'm going to throw a random one
- 49:39out. I'm going to say Jarvis Landry.
- 49:41Nope. I was going to go with Jarvis
- 49:43Landry too. But the raw raw Shishkumba.
- 49:45He like kind of was like Miami for.
- 49:46The first four. Years he.
- 49:48Only had what Tannehill and I think he had one random Jay
- 49:51Cutler year that's. Art MO, Matt Moore, I didn't say
- 49:55he was on that team. Matt Moore was on that team too.
- 49:59Alright, let's get some more guesses.
- 50:02Right, but wide receivers. DeAndre Hopkins, Jake.
- 50:06Gets it? Ohh.
- 50:09Wow. I.
- 50:10Thought of my Indo. He was drafted like kind of like
- 50:13mid to earliest 2000 tens and I was like, they probably maybe he
- 50:17had Matt Schaub. I need a blow pop.
- 50:20Yeah, TJ Yates was in there. Then it would rock Osweiler.
- 50:25And Brian Horner. Yeah, we're going to give you
- 50:27the goody icon because he's not here where you want to go.
- 50:30Book. Club, let's go to the bottom
- 50:33right. Bottom right, here we go.
- 50:35Next question, Speedy? All right, we'll go to the NBA
- 50:37now. D Aaron Fox is 1 active point
- 50:39guard who have never made an All Star team making $50 million or
- 50:45one All Star team making 50 million per year.
- 50:47There is one that's making 50 million per year that has never
- 50:50made the All Star team. Who isn't?
- 50:52All right, you do that without all the breaking up.
- 50:56All right, so there is one point guard, active point guard, who
- 50:59has never made an All Star team making 50 million per year.
- 51:03You said he's a point guard. Never made an All Star.
- 51:07Scene, Yeah. Is it a Jordan Clarkson?
- 51:12Nope. No, he doesn't make that much
- 51:16point. Guard 15,000,000.
- 51:18Did he just get a contract speedy?
- 51:21Not this offseason. No.
- 51:23Oh. I got one what?
- 51:32Do you got? Lamello Ball.
- 51:33Nope. Ah.
- 51:37He's made an All Star team. Well, that's why.
- 51:40But I'm just guessing. I don't know.
- 51:42I'm not sitting here waiting. 52 He's made 52 in a year, or he's
- 51:45making 52 right now. We should be time clock here
- 51:48right now because. Speeding.
- 51:49Just take it too long. He's on his contract right now.
- 51:53He's on his contract right now. That's a tough one.
- 51:58And he's and he's on his contract.
- 52:00Never been in brilliant. Never never made an All Star
- 52:03game. Never.
- 52:04Wow. Yeah, it's got to be somebody
- 52:07that got a crazy deal and you're like, why in the hell yeah.
- 52:14I don't know. That's that's wild.
- 52:17I. Was going to say D Aaron Fox
- 52:19but. That was a theme of the
- 52:21question, but he's made one. I'm trying to think of the
- 52:24teams. I'm trying to think of the team,
- 52:27so I probably will know who it is.
- 52:29If I could think of the teams I can't think right now, I'm going
- 52:35to go this. Is I think I might, I might know
- 52:38who it is. I'm not 100.
- 52:39Can I RIP it I guess? Yeah.
- 52:41Is it Jamal Murray and. Jake Yeah, it's this.
- 52:44I knew. It I knew it.
- 52:44Yeah. I.
- 52:46Always bring this up when I was. Like I am a legend so.
- 52:49I was like. Everyone was just a Gumby old
- 52:51man. Like Jamal Murray's a super like
- 52:54AI think he's a great point guard but he's never made.
- 52:56A smell my ass. And that's it, Jake, with two in
- 53:00a row taking it down. Look at that.
- 53:03Nice job. We win again.
- 53:07Tic Tac. No, it's over, Speedy.
- 53:10I need a gin and tonic pago hoe. You could have been somebody.
- 53:15You could have been a contender. Suck.
- 53:17My Indo you're. Going to get a gin and tonic.
- 53:21I would love it. Gin and tonic right now.
- 53:23Would you suck your own endo God?
- 53:25No. Of course you Are you sure he's.
- 53:28Saying he's saying good though if it was long.
- 53:30Well, if it was long enough, would you do?
- 53:32That. You could satisfy your own self.
- 53:35Listen, that would that would be a good question to ask somebody.
- 53:38You're sitting around hanging out with your boys, you're
- 53:40getting wasted. And the first thing you could
- 53:43say, if you can give your endo a nice little slosh, would you do
- 53:47it? And the question would be, if it
- 53:49was long enough, would you satisfy yourself the answer?
- 53:52Oh, the Marilyn Manson. Yes.
- 53:55Doo Doo did Carl plays with himself?
- 53:58Yeah, yeah, they removed 2 the the two ribs.
- 54:00Who was? It.
- 54:01Who was it there? Marilyn Manson, OH.
- 54:04Yeah. Yes.
- 54:06Beautiful people, yes. Yes, and he also likes to beat
- 54:09women, the piece of garbage that he is.
- 54:11So I can't stand Marilyn Manson. He's such a nasty person.
- 54:15I've heard so many stories about him.
- 54:17He's a vicious, disgusting person.
- 54:20If an answer Carl's question, would you have a gin and tonic
- 54:22with EJ Perry? With that question, I love Lisa
- 54:25AM. Would you have a gin and tonic
- 54:27with EJ Perry? No, I would have a gin and tonic
- 54:30with Lisa am I love Lisa am breaking news.
- 54:34I need Brittany also think you're.
- 54:36Going to need a little bit more than a gin and tonic.
- 54:39Breaking news, a lot of hot ladies.
- 54:41As we all know, a lot of ladies. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 54:46we call the next segment a call to the pen.
- 54:50It's done. If you can throw a strike on
- 54:52this pitch, it's not going to be my John it.
- 54:54Feels like jello right now. Just get it over the plate I.
- 54:56Want him to swing? Last time I did that the guy hit
- 54:58one that hasn't landed yet for a call to the pen.
- 55:03Goody has no. We're coming into a call to the
- 55:08pen before we head to a break I just had.
- 55:11I just thought of this phrase. You hear it all the time.
- 55:14So I got a little read off for you and I got you to comment on
- 55:17it, my friend. When we get to August, for some
- 55:20reason we always hear the phrase the dog days of summer, as if
- 55:24dogs have it tougher in summer other than it's hot and they
- 55:27have fur. You hear the phrase in baseball
- 55:29this time of the year as the season really starts to hit the
- 55:31home stretch in the middle of the August heat.
- 55:34But what does it really mean? Are games harder in August than
- 55:37any point in the year? As playoff races take shape, as
- 55:40injuries mount, as the toll of the 162 game season wears on?
- 55:45The humanity behind the uniforms and prospects arrive from the
- 55:49minors trying to take a spot on the roster for themselves and
- 55:53away from a veteran who's been on the team all year?
- 55:56Well, all we have to do here on job in the mouth is get on the
- 56:00phone and get the big righty up to find out.
- 56:02Playing in the league during the old dog days of summer as they
- 56:05call them on. Another great addition of a call
- 56:09to the pen. Glory hole.
- 56:11Yeah, it's, it is, man. It's, it's, it's crazy.
- 56:15I, I would like to know where the origin of that came.
- 56:17Honestly, it's funny that you bring that up because when we
- 56:20got our independent team about 2025 years ago, that was
- 56:24literally how we came up. We're called the salt dogs, like
- 56:27the salt Salt Valley, Salt River, like we have that runs
- 56:29through here and then the dog days of summer because they play
- 56:32in the summer. So that's how we, how we got it.
- 56:34But it definitely gets to you right around not once you get
- 56:40closer to September because then the locker room becomes crazy
- 56:43busy because you have September call ups and you're nuts to
- 56:45butts. I mean, you got so many people
- 56:47in there. So you either get there early
- 56:49that. 1. Or you get there late so
- 56:52everybody's not getting there at the same time trying to change.
- 56:55You don't have that extra locker that you usually do.
- 56:57And you can always tell the younger guys too, because they
- 57:00they're out there running sprints.
- 57:02It's the midway through September and you're like, Hey,
- 57:05man, we've been going literally since January.
- 57:08There's no offseason anymore. Like, hey, relax.
- 57:11Like sometimes less is more when you get to the end of the
- 57:15summer. And and a lot of guys, some of
- 57:17them have basically fished their whole minor league season if
- 57:20they're coming up at the end or just have, you know, back and
- 57:23forth cup of tea with the team. So it's it's, it gets long in
- 57:28that it's just, it becomes more crowded.
- 57:31There's a lot more stuff going on and you're like just
- 57:34depending on what situation you're fighting for your life,
- 57:37planning your vacation or like hell, like can we get to October
- 57:40so we can get to the playoffs and start the real season?
- 57:42It's so it definitely is because there's so many ways to think
- 57:46about it. And you got a lot of guys too,
- 57:48like that are getting ready for winter ball too.
- 57:51Like, hey, you know what, I'm going to go play winter ball.
- 57:53Like I played with a bunch of guys where they didn't take any
- 57:56time off. Like as soon as the season was
- 57:57over, whether they we made the playoffs, whether we didn't,
- 58:00they were like, boom, I'm going to play winter ball.
- 58:02So I have to take a shoot. It definitely does.
- 58:04There are days where depending on the manager, there were days
- 58:08around this time a little bit later where I know Tito did this
- 58:11when we were and and it was even earlier in the year and
- 58:15Awesomest did this in Detroit. It's like if you're here before
- 58:194:00, you're fined $1000 because we just played like 15 in a row
- 58:23or something like that. And it's like, man, it's hot.
- 58:26You know what, take your time if you're here before 4 optional
- 58:29BP, but you'll be fine unless you had to come in for like
- 58:32rehab or something like that. But yeah, it definitely it
- 58:35definitely towards the end. It just you want to get through
- 58:38it and then either you're you're revitalized by going on vacation
- 58:42or it's like, hey, playoffs are come now you're back and ready
- 58:45to get after it. So it's, it's true.
- 58:47It really is. I I'm gonna have to do some
- 58:50research on how. I did the research for you,
- 58:53Jabba, where we got this. The dog days of summer referred
- 58:56to a period of hot, humid weather in July and August.
- 58:59But the term actually comes from the star Sirius.
- 59:02Also known as the dog star is Larry Harold.
- 59:06Here we are. Ancient Greeks and Romans
- 59:09observed that Sirius, the brightest star after the sun,
- 59:12would rise with the sun during this time, and they associated
- 59:16its heat with the intense summer heat.
- 59:20The rah rah. Things that you.
- 59:21Learn. On another call.
- 59:25To the end. Thank you to all the fans tuning
- 59:29in to us on Apple and Spotify. We were ranked at one point
- 59:33today I I think what, what was it fish, What were, what was the
- 59:37number? We were in, we were like 156 or
- 59:40something like that. And for Football podcast, we're
- 59:44listed under football because you have to be listed under
- 59:46something, but we were top, we were like 156 and it fluctuates
- 59:50throughout the week, but we're consistently top 200 in the
- 59:53world. This is in the United States
- 59:54rather in the whole country. That's where we're ranked right
- 59:58now and it's just climbing every week.

- 1:00:47honestly? I will tell you a funny, funny
- 1:00:50story. I tried to sit on a bowl a
- 1:00:52couple weeks ago in a public place and I didn't realize that
- 1:00:55the bowl was not hooked and I fell into the ball.
- 1:00:58So that's that's true. That's a true.
- 1:01:01Story I and I don't like to break about it buddy.

- 1:01:08practical that was that was that was a prank.
