- 0:06Speaker 1: Hey guys, we are back on normally the show with normal,
- 0:09Speaker 1: which it takes full when the news it's weird.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I'm Mary Cathainham and I'm Carol Marco. It's so nice
- 0:14Speaker 2: to have you back, Mary, Catherine.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Thank you, Thank you to everybody for holding it down
- 0:18Speaker 1: while I was gone. I got some son, had a
- 0:21Speaker 1: good time. I mean, it doesn't look like I got son.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Obviously, it looked like you got some son.
- 0:25Speaker 1: You look quite rosy. Thank you, Thank you. Rosie is
- 0:28Speaker 1: probably the word had a great time. Had too many
- 0:31Speaker 1: children at the lake, but that is fine because children
- 0:34Speaker 1: are a delight. It's just tiny, they really are. When
- 0:37Speaker 1: it's a water hazard situation, it's just like one of
- 0:39Speaker 1: those things in life where you got to like be
- 0:42Speaker 1: on be on alert at old times. And so we
- 0:45Speaker 1: were a.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Step above monitoring the situation.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yes, exactly. Yes, my mom had a situation full time,
- 0:52Speaker 1: but when you're there, it's more serious.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Yeah, Gates Garcia and Steven Miller did a great job.
- 0:58Speaker 2: But I told them, told them both that they weren't
- 1:00Speaker 2: really filling your shoes or anything, so whatever, But yeah,
- 1:03Speaker 2: they're both great, both really smart, both very funny. If
- 1:07Speaker 2: you're not following them you should be. It's Gates Garcia
- 1:11Speaker 2: on X and Stephen Miller not the one at the
- 1:14Speaker 2: White House. It's Stephen L.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Miller.
- 1:16Speaker 2: He is red Steez on Twitter.
- 1:19Speaker 1: So many thanks to them.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot going on. I know, sometimes we
- 1:25Speaker 2: aren't sure what to talk about, and then other times
- 1:27Speaker 2: it's like just fills up all on its own. So
- 1:31Speaker 2: the big news today is obviously the Iranian potential deal
- 1:37Speaker 2: that was signed last night.
- 1:38Speaker 1: I say, every time we're talking about it should just
- 1:41Speaker 1: be Iranian deal.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Question mark right, Maybe could be you know, I keep
- 1:46Speaker 2: clicking on these like, yeah, I get all these emails
- 1:49Speaker 2: like New York Times the morning, a deal in Iran.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, what is it. They're like, oh, we
- 1:53Speaker 2: don't have it. We We're just we're gonna tell you.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Like it's like what how My husband is like when
- 1:58Speaker 2: I'm on Twitter during a big sport to vend and
- 2:00Speaker 2: He's like, what's the score, And I'm like, I don't know,
- 2:02Speaker 2: I can just tell you what people are feeling about it.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I'm really more of a color commentator, that's right.
- 2:08Speaker 2: So we have a lot of color commentary about the
- 2:12Speaker 2: deal with Iran, but not a lot of details or specifics,
- 2:15Speaker 2: and a lot of like a person close to the
- 2:18Speaker 2: deal tells us, right, you know, so on. So I
- 2:22Speaker 2: don't know, and I'm being cautiously optimistic, which is not
- 2:26Speaker 2: the vibe online at all. People are pretty despondent about it,
- 2:30Speaker 2: people who I normally agree with. So I don't know.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I really I'm not sure what to think here. I
- 2:35Speaker 2: want to see the details before I get sad about it. Right.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Here's the New York Times reporting today on this. President
- 2:41Speaker 1: Trump set in an interview on Sunday afternoon that the
- 2:43Speaker 1: agreement he had reached with Iran would ultimately assure that
- 2:46Speaker 1: straight up from news was permanently toll free, and asserted that,
- 2:49Speaker 1: despite the objections of Prime Minister of Benjamin n Yahou
- 2:52Speaker 1: of Israel, he had saved Israel from nuclear obliteration. Mister
- 2:55Speaker 1: Trump also insisted that if iron failed to reach a
- 2:57Speaker 1: final nuclear record with the United States that his aids
- 3:00Speaker 1: say they expect will begin on Friday in Switzerland, he
- 3:03Speaker 1: would restart military attacks on Tehran and make the United
- 3:06Speaker 1: States the guardian of the Middle East and return for
- 3:08Speaker 1: twenty percent of the region's revenues. Okay, so, again, we
- 3:11Speaker 1: don't know the outlines of this. We have heard rumors
- 3:14Speaker 1: and some reports that Vance, Jared, and Witcoff were in
- 3:20Speaker 1: favor of the deal while heg Seth and Rubio.
- 3:23Speaker 2: And so yeah, that's tough because heg Seth and Rubio.
- 3:26Speaker 2: That's the side that I feel like I'm on. But again,
- 3:30Speaker 2: we don't know that that's really the case, right, this
- 3:32Speaker 2: is like rumored or secondhand information. I really want to
- 3:38Speaker 2: know the details here, and I would love to hear
- 3:42Speaker 2: from Rubio. Of course, he's not going to contradict the
- 3:44Speaker 2: White House. Maybe we'll get this information after these people
- 3:48Speaker 2: leave the White House, but I just don't know. I'll
- 3:50Speaker 2: tell you Mark Doublewitz, who is the CEO at Foundation
- 3:55Speaker 2: for Defending Democracies and no maga guy, not like bet
- 4:00Speaker 2: all costs at all, he tweets, in twenty three years
- 4:03Speaker 2: of working on Iran, I've never been more confident that
- 4:05Speaker 2: we will see the end of the Islamic Republic. Ignore
- 4:08Speaker 2: the spin, drown out the noise, make maximum support for
- 4:11Speaker 2: the Iranian people a central pillar of America's Iran policy.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I'm surprised that he's this optimistic. I'm definitely not anywhere
- 4:20Speaker 2: near that, but it's encouraging to me to see him
- 4:24Speaker 2: say that.
- 4:24Speaker 1: But question is he saying that to push them to
- 4:27Speaker 1: make the Iranian people the central pillar, because the Iranian
- 4:30Speaker 1: people do not feel like the central pillar right now.
- 4:33Speaker 1: It feels very much as you and I have been
- 4:35Speaker 1: worried about it, And I would say I'm much more
- 4:38Speaker 1: pessimistic about this because I feel like what I have
- 4:40Speaker 1: felt throughout is that he got kind of fed up
- 4:43Speaker 1: with this and was like, I don't want to be
- 4:46Speaker 1: in this situation anymore, and I like to make deals,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and so I'm going to get them to make a deal,
- 4:51Speaker 1: and I'm gonna say it's different substantially from JCPOA even
- 4:54Speaker 1: if it's not, and then we'll just and he wanted
- 4:56Speaker 1: to have it done on his birthday, and you know
- 4:58Speaker 1: he's very sensitive to those types of things. And I
- 5:03Speaker 1: don't feel great about where it sounds like this is
- 5:06Speaker 1: heading now. The thing about the Iranians is that they
- 5:09Speaker 1: like to steal defeat from the jaws of victory, right
- 5:13Speaker 1: so they could have a pretty good deal made I
- 5:16Speaker 1: think wrongly by the US and have had opportunities for that,
- 5:21Speaker 1: and they keep saying no. And I hope they continue
- 5:24Speaker 1: to say no even if this is sign. What I'm
- 5:26Speaker 1: concerned about is that we've already gotten this wrong by
- 5:31Speaker 1: saying that there's a ceasefire in place, because only we
- 5:34Speaker 1: are ceasing fire. They never observed it. The streets did
- 5:38Speaker 1: not open upon the ceasefire, which was supposed to be
- 5:41Speaker 1: the deal. And I am deeply worried about Donald Trump,
- 5:46Speaker 1: who I hoped and thought that his concern would be
- 5:50Speaker 1: his threat credibility in America's threat credibility backing off of this,
- 5:53Speaker 1: and that disappearing disappearing because it doesn't look great at
- 5:57Speaker 1: the moment, right.
- 5:58Speaker 2: So trumptives are things like he loses interest very quickly,
- 6:03Speaker 2: and I think that that has been an ongoing issue
- 6:07Speaker 2: where he just is like, I'm done with this, Let's
- 6:09Speaker 2: get the hell out of here. But the other part
- 6:12Speaker 2: of it is that Trump doesn't like making a bad
- 6:15Speaker 2: deal for himself for the country. And so that's where
- 6:17Speaker 2: I had my faith that the things that we're hearing,
- 6:21Speaker 2: and again, who knows what is really happening, whether it's
- 6:26Speaker 2: true or not. However, we do have a clip of Vans.
- 6:29Speaker 2: It sounds pretty terrible. Let's play it.
- 6:32Speaker 1: RANI answer saying that they're going to have access to
- 6:35Speaker 1: a three hundred billion dollar reconstruction fuck true or false?
- 6:40Speaker 3: Well, that's the sort of thing they could have access
- 6:43Speaker 3: to funded by the Gulf Coast Coalition, so long as
- 6:46Speaker 3: they honor their into the obligation. I think that one
- 6:49Speaker 3: of the things you're going to see it and people
- 6:51Speaker 3: have to be skeptical of this, is that the hardliners
- 6:54Speaker 3: in the Iranian system will overemphasize the benefits that Iran
- 6:57Speaker 3: gets while underemphasizing all things that they have to concede
- 7:02Speaker 3: and all the things they have to provide in order
- 7:04Speaker 3: to get these benefits. So we absolutely are open to
- 7:08Speaker 3: the Gulf Coast countries investing in the reconstruction of Iran,
- 7:12Speaker 3: but only if Iran ends their nuclear program, ends there
- 7:16Speaker 3: enriched stock pile of material, and it's really open to
- 7:20Speaker 3: an inspections and enforcement regime that gives the American people
- 7:23Speaker 3: confidence they're never going to have a nuclear weapon. So
- 7:26Speaker 3: I think I think the dance you're going to see
- 7:28Speaker 3: ed which is going to be interesting, is the Iranian media,
- 7:31Speaker 3: especially the hardline media. They're going to talk a lot
- 7:33Speaker 3: about what they get without talking about what they give.
- 7:36Speaker 3: It's important for all of us to correct that record.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't do any of those things.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Right, I just don't TRUSTe, right, right, But I do
- 7:44Speaker 2: like that he's saying this is like what could happen
- 7:47Speaker 2: if they do all of these things. If they don't
- 7:50Speaker 2: do all of those things, they don't collect the pile
- 7:52Speaker 2: of cash. But you know, I again, we have to
- 7:56Speaker 2: kind of be looking at this in terms of layers
- 7:59Speaker 2: of what the saying and what actually ends up happening.
- 8:02Speaker 2: And this goes for our ally Israel as well. What
- 8:06Speaker 2: Israel says and what actually happens might not be the
- 8:08Speaker 2: same thing. There's also the additional layer that there's a
- 8:11Speaker 2: political fight in Israel. They're coming up on possible elections.
- 8:17Speaker 2: There's an anti net Yaho block who desperately wants this
- 8:20Speaker 2: deal to sound like Trump has been in net Yaho.
- 8:24Speaker 2: A lot of like the secondhand information that we hear
- 8:27Speaker 2: will be like Trump's done with net and Yahoo, and
- 8:29Speaker 2: a lot of that could be coming from the Israeli
- 8:31Speaker 2: left because they want it and Yahoo to lose in
- 8:34Speaker 2: the next election. So there's a lot of facets here
- 8:38Speaker 2: that are not as obvious.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I just think like he set certain parameters Trump
- 8:44Speaker 1: himself did, yep, that I don't see being met here right,
- 8:48Speaker 1: like the dust gone and what have you. Like, those
- 8:51Speaker 1: things don't seem like they're part of this discussion. Maybe
- 8:56Speaker 1: they are, maybe they will be. I don't understand why
- 8:58Speaker 1: this regime of psych is getting reparations without a conditional
- 9:02Speaker 1: surrender totally, and I don't believe they'll give us access
- 9:06Speaker 1: to anything or inspections. The missile program should be part
- 9:09Speaker 1: of the discussions, and Israeli right to self defense should
- 9:13Speaker 1: not be any part of the discussion because they're allowed
- 9:16Speaker 1: to take on proxies wherever those proxies come at them,
- 9:19Speaker 1: and they should be as a sovereign country.
- 9:21Speaker 2: So I'm sure they will. There's no part of me
- 9:23Speaker 2: that thinks that either Lago government or any other Israel
- 9:27Speaker 2: government is going to be like taking at tax from
- 9:30Speaker 2: Lebanon and not responding because America signed this deal. It
- 9:34Speaker 2: just makes no sense.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Yeah, these people are not to be trusted. But I
- 9:39Speaker 1: agree with you that Israel won't listen to that admonition.
- 9:43Speaker 1: But the fact that the American government would have such
- 9:45Speaker 1: an admonition while talking to the Iranians as part of
- 9:48Speaker 1: the discussion very bad.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Well we'll see what happens. We'll you know,
- 9:57Speaker 2: see how this plays out. Of course, every day is
- 10:00Speaker 2: new adventure with Iran and with this administration. So I
- 10:05Speaker 2: would love to get I would so like more than
- 10:08Speaker 2: anything else, love to hear what Pete meg Seth and
- 10:11Speaker 2: Marco Rubio are thinking right now. But I think it's
- 10:13Speaker 2: going to be a long time before we can I.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Find out one more time. I just don't want to
- 10:18Speaker 1: gloss over it too much because there's a lot happening
- 10:20Speaker 1: in the world. They shot down on a page helicopter,
- 10:23Speaker 1: yeah they did, and luckily we rescued two people from that.
- 10:27Speaker 1: But these are that's who we're going to sit down
- 10:31Speaker 1: with and be like, let's hang out in Switzerland and
- 10:33Speaker 1: see what kind of deals we can come to the show.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Which is why I just don't think am I being crazy?
- 10:39Speaker 2: Or is that just doesn't sound like Donald Trump, Like,
- 10:42Speaker 2: does not sound like the kind of thing that he
- 10:44Speaker 2: would accept.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he likes to make a deal and
- 10:48Speaker 1: he likes to just be in the process of making
- 10:50Speaker 1: a deal, So both things could be happening.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Right all right, We'll see and we'll see how this
- 10:56Speaker 2: plays out, and we'll hope for the best here and
- 11:02Speaker 2: we're going to take a short break and come right
- 11:04Speaker 2: back with Sports on Sports on Sports and segment two
- 11:08Speaker 2: of Normally. We are back on Normally, where it's been
- 11:14Speaker 2: a very sporty week or so. So let me just
- 11:18Speaker 2: sum it up and then we'll talk about it. World
- 11:20Speaker 2: Cup soccer and Europeans discovering that America is awesome, the
- 11:24Speaker 2: next first NBA ring in fifty three years. Nobody is
- 11:27Speaker 2: happier than my husband. The UFC event on the White
- 11:31Speaker 2: House lawn over the weekend, and the Carolina Hurricanes won
- 11:35Speaker 2: the Stanley Cup and I didn't even hear about that
- 11:37Speaker 2: until you added it to this list. Sports a lot,
- 11:40Speaker 2: Let's talk about.
- 11:40Speaker 1: It a lot going on. The World Cup thing is
- 11:44Speaker 1: so fun, by the way, before we get to the
- 11:45Speaker 1: US's win, which is very amazing. Yeah, the Europeans coming
- 11:49Speaker 1: to America and giving us on X the two to
- 11:53Speaker 1: fifty celebration we deserve, yeahs so fun. I love that
- 11:57Speaker 1: they're being treated so nicely. I think that is part
- 11:59Speaker 1: of the America character to be enthusiastic and welcoming and
- 12:03Speaker 1: ready to jump in on something like that. And frankly,
- 12:07Speaker 1: our kindness in that area is what led us to
- 12:09Speaker 1: the Biden policy of like, let's just have everyone arrive
- 12:12Speaker 1: all the time.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Right right, right this point.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that kindness was taken advantage of, and Freddy from
- 12:20Speaker 1: Germany is seeing that kindness as he runs around the
- 12:23Speaker 1: country and explores this country in an organic way for
- 12:27Speaker 1: someone who is here as a visitor, who we are
- 12:29Speaker 1: very welcoming to, it's really pretty.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Is just one just why he's the biggest one of
- 12:35Speaker 2: the bunch. But there are so many people. There's a
- 12:38Speaker 2: Swedish woman, there's a bunch of Scottish guys. There's a
- 12:41Speaker 2: lot of people online from Europe talking about all the
- 12:46Speaker 2: different wonders of America, Bucky's and cracker barrels and Wi
- 12:50Speaker 2: Fi on airplanes that apparently is better than you know,
- 12:53Speaker 2: what they have in their homes or you know, it's
- 12:56Speaker 2: all so cool to watch, you know, it's interesting. So
- 12:59Speaker 2: you were off while Steven Miller and I talked about
- 13:01Speaker 2: the happy Europeans. But since then there's been like this
- 13:05Speaker 2: push online that this is all an op. I just
- 13:08Speaker 2: need someone to explain to me how random Europeans joyously
- 13:13Speaker 2: traveling around America could be an op. I mean, maybe
- 13:15Speaker 2: I'm just too old to understand this, but like, who
- 13:17Speaker 2: would be paying for that and who came up with that?
- 13:20Speaker 2: And maybe I just have a lot less faith that
- 13:22Speaker 2: anybody could be this organized. But I think don't see
- 13:26Speaker 2: how it could be an op and again maybe it's
- 13:28Speaker 2: my own blinders.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I think it's fair to say, like, Okay, once this
- 13:32Speaker 1: took off as a kind of shock, that you can
- 13:34Speaker 1: do that, maybe people would adopt this style of content
- 13:37Speaker 1: and get paid out for it. Right. However, I think
- 13:40Speaker 1: what's cool about it, and something we don't always see
- 13:42Speaker 1: from the European tourist perspective, is these people are doing
- 13:47Speaker 1: road trips. I pity anyone who has never done a
- 13:50Speaker 1: road trip through America because it's amazing. And so they're
- 13:53Speaker 1: seeing a great variety of things. They seeing small town America,
- 13:56Speaker 1: they're seeing the South and the Midwest, and so I
- 13:59Speaker 1: think that really speaks to people. The other thing that
- 14:01Speaker 1: I realized, I feel like I don't take a lot
- 14:03Speaker 1: of things about America for granted. I try to be
- 14:06Speaker 1: same very aware. I did take for granted how good
- 14:10Speaker 1: our stadiums are. The Europeans are ballown away by our
- 14:16Speaker 1: college and high school stadiums, and that was like, this
- 14:21Speaker 1: is a high school stadium. I mean, I covered I
- 14:24Speaker 1: shouldn't have taken this for granted because I covered a
- 14:26Speaker 1: high school football program that had a ten thousand seedter stadium, right,
- 14:31Speaker 1: so it was just short of a jumbo tron. Probably
- 14:34Speaker 1: should have had one, but I yeah, didn't realize how
- 14:38Speaker 1: great they were. And it makes sense to me now
- 14:39Speaker 1: that in other countries when they get ready for World
- 14:41Speaker 1: Cup er Olympics, they're like, we got to rebuild a
- 14:43Speaker 1: bunch of stuff, whereas we're like, you just throw them
- 14:45Speaker 1: at the college. It's like that Freddie ended up at Auburn,
- 14:49Speaker 1: and I was like, even though it's Auburn, it is
- 14:52Speaker 1: really beautiful.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so cool. It makes me want to take
- 14:57Speaker 2: a road trip actually, like I have done American road
- 14:59Speaker 2: tips of course, but not nearly enough and not nearly
- 15:03Speaker 2: far enough away. I just it makes me want to
- 15:06Speaker 2: go see more of the country via car. And Selena
- 15:10Speaker 2: Zito often talks about this. She all of the reporting
- 15:13Speaker 2: that she does. I think Dave Marcus does too. They
- 15:15Speaker 2: do it all in a car, and Selena Zito has
- 15:18Speaker 2: told me that she does only back roads, like no
- 15:21Speaker 2: highways or anything. That's cool. We really do have something
- 15:24Speaker 2: going here.
- 15:25Speaker 1: It is very cool. The US men's national team has
- 15:28Speaker 1: something going as well, with a four to one win
- 15:31Speaker 1: to open the World Cup against Paraguay. And I'm I
- 15:36Speaker 1: played soccer, but I'm not a huge soccer fan, so
- 15:39Speaker 1: I can't say that I have a bunch of background here.
- 15:40Speaker 1: But many, many people are saying a near flawless, a
- 15:44Speaker 1: near flawless performance from the men's national team against a
- 15:47Speaker 1: very strong team that has beat the perennial strong teams
- 15:50Speaker 1: in the past. So great to see from them. I
- 15:53Speaker 1: think people are going to probably fall in love with
- 15:55Speaker 1: the personalities on this team. And you know, despite the
- 15:59Speaker 1: fact that we're not a soccer nation, there are generations
- 16:03Speaker 1: of children raised playing soccer. Like we all get it. Yeah,
- 16:07Speaker 1: and then we you know, when we get a little
- 16:08Speaker 1: dose of huliganing, we're probably in for it.
- 16:12Speaker 2: I think if Americans heard the soccer chants or the songs,
- 16:16Speaker 2: I think they'd get into it. Like I mean, they
- 16:18Speaker 2: make they make up some elaborate songs over there.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Yes, and they're adopting fan bases the the is it.
- 16:25Speaker 1: The Algerian team that's in Kansas has been adopted. The
- 16:28Speaker 1: Scots are up in Boston, Boston adopted. Yeah, it's very nice,
- 16:35Speaker 1: So we'll keep watching that as well.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Talk the Knicks first NBA ring in fifty three years.
- 16:44Speaker 2: My husband is a long, long suffering Knicks fan. They
- 16:47Speaker 2: came close in the nineteen nineties. I've heard all about
- 16:50Speaker 2: it from him. I was actually a little bit I
- 16:53Speaker 2: I you know, I'm a Knicks fan in that I
- 16:55Speaker 2: don't like any other team, but I don't I don't
- 16:57Speaker 2: really like basketball that much. So in the nineties I
- 17:01Speaker 2: watched a little bit of the heartbreaking finals losses and
- 17:04Speaker 2: stuff like that. This was so fun to watch in
- 17:08Speaker 2: a Knick's household, Like they'd be down by twenty and
- 17:11Speaker 2: everybody'd be like, they're going to come back. They're going
- 17:13Speaker 2: to come back because they've done it. They've done it
- 17:14Speaker 2: in the previous couple of games. And I'm pretty superstitious.
- 17:18Speaker 2: So I think that they lost Game three, not because
- 17:21Speaker 2: of Donald Trump, but because everybody kept saying Nixon four.
- 17:24Speaker 2: You can't count your chickens before they hatched. You can't
- 17:27Speaker 2: do that, you know. Like I needed everybody to stop
- 17:29Speaker 2: making up poems about the Knicks winning and four, and
- 17:32Speaker 2: I really did blame them all. And when Nicks didn't
- 17:35Speaker 2: win Game three, it was so fun it was so fun.
- 17:39Speaker 2: My husband and my son, my youngest son, went to
- 17:42Speaker 2: Game one in San Antonio. I forced them to go.
- 17:46Speaker 2: My husband is very big on like, you know, whatever
- 17:48Speaker 2: I want to do, like my daughter and I just
- 17:50Speaker 2: went to see Noah Khan Orlando we've seen like Taylor
- 17:52Speaker 2: Swift and Liverpool, Like, sure, you go, do whatever, but
- 17:55Speaker 2: spending money on himself is something he doesn't do. So
- 17:58Speaker 2: I forced the issue, made them go, and I was
- 18:01Speaker 2: so happy. They had the best time ever. And I'll
- 18:03Speaker 2: tell you, San Antonio fans were so nice and kind
- 18:07Speaker 2: to them that it pissed me off so much when
- 18:10Speaker 2: San Antonio fans were getting abused and my exit, you know,
- 18:13Speaker 2: hometown of New York City, really really bugged me because
- 18:17Speaker 2: after they won Game one, people came up to my
- 18:19Speaker 2: husband and son and were just like, what amazing experience
- 18:22Speaker 2: you guys will have and he'll always remember this, and
- 18:25Speaker 2: they were just so so nice.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Yeah, Nicks, let's go, Nix. I love. I love to
- 18:32Speaker 1: see a long suffering fan base when it's very fun.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Even vicariously, I enjoyed that Jalen Brunson of The of
- 18:41Speaker 1: the Nice I said I have noted after said I
- 18:44Speaker 1: have nothing against Texas. I love Texas. I missed the
- 18:46Speaker 1: Texas taxes. That's a that's fan service for me. I
- 18:50Speaker 1: like that. No, he seems like such a great guy.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Great for those Villanova guys who played at Villanova and
- 18:57Speaker 1: one in twenty sixteen together to come to the next
- 19:00Speaker 1: and win together. I believe was it Brunson who took
- 19:02Speaker 1: a pay cut so that he could bring his buds
- 19:04Speaker 1: to play on this team together. I mean, that's a
- 19:07Speaker 1: great story. Who's who's upset at that?
- 19:09Speaker 2: Right? Yeah? Seriously, it's just very much enjoy it.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and also can I say also it's been interesting
- 19:15Speaker 1: to watch so that you know, they have all the
- 19:18Speaker 1: celebs on the on the side with the their Taylor
- 19:22Speaker 1: Swift and Timothy is always there. I love that timoth
- 19:28Speaker 1: A Chellame has the silliest French name and looks looks
- 19:34Speaker 1: like a tuberculosis h literature guy from the eighteen hundreds
- 19:40Speaker 1: and all the girlies desperately want him to be like
- 19:43Speaker 1: an indie poet and he is such a Chad is
- 19:48Speaker 1: just a sports guy. Throw it through and it reminds.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Me born in the wrong body, you know, like, and some.
- 19:55Speaker 1: People are really crashing out about it. Because they want
- 19:58Speaker 1: him to be this other thing. And it finds me
- 20:00Speaker 1: of the US hockey team, where it's like they all
- 20:02Speaker 1: had this idea of them as not normy dudes, but
- 20:05Speaker 1: as like gay hockey soap opera stars, and it's like, yeah,
- 20:09Speaker 1: that's not what they are. And I'm enjoying Tim at
- 20:11Speaker 1: Tay having a good time in all of this. Also,
- 20:15Speaker 1: I liked I'm Not Matt at Taylor Swift courtside with
- 20:18Speaker 1: her friends from Hame. I love the band Ham by
- 20:20Speaker 1: the way, I think we're great, and the silly pun
- 20:23Speaker 1: shirts I'm in favor of.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I bought a silly pun shirt. There's a Jewish sect
- 20:30Speaker 2: called Kabad, which we love, and I bought one that
- 20:33Speaker 2: says Habad Nick.
- 20:35Speaker 1: So oh that was cute.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I'm going to be wearing that on a future Normally episode.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I like it very much. I like it very much.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Shall we move on to UFC?
- 20:44Speaker 2: Yes, UFC, you're gonna have to carry this one. I
- 20:47Speaker 2: some of the pictures and some clips, but I didn't
- 20:49Speaker 2: watch it, so I have a lot of thought.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I watched it. I'm a UFC fan, and I have
- 20:53Speaker 1: to say Normally it ends up on way too late
- 20:57Speaker 1: for me. To catch the best fights. And it did
- 20:59Speaker 1: go late this time as well.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Part Andoy was complaining about it being on.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Well when they do when they do it West Coast,
- 21:06Speaker 1: it's even worse, but it's usually Saturday night. So this
- 21:08Speaker 1: time it's dubbed as an America two fifty celebration. They
- 21:12Speaker 1: set up the Octagon on the lawn with this huge
- 21:15Speaker 1: thing called the claw over it to light it and
- 21:18Speaker 1: give them seats.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Incredible incredit looked insane, Like how did anybody hate that?
- 21:26Speaker 1: So that's the thing.
- 21:27Speaker 2: I'm not a UFC fan, but like, wow, wow, No,
- 21:30Speaker 2: it looked crazy good.
- 21:33Speaker 1: And this is I think something that is problematic for
- 21:36Speaker 1: those who object to it, because I understand some of
- 21:39Speaker 1: the objections. We'll get to those. I understand some objections.
- 21:41Speaker 1: But when you have that picture of the Octagon and
- 21:45Speaker 1: the flyover and the White House is the backdrop, and
- 21:48Speaker 1: you have the full view of eighty thousand people on
- 21:51Speaker 1: the ellipse partying watching the feed from there, and I'm
- 21:57Speaker 1: glad I'm not in the position of having to go
- 21:59Speaker 1: like I don't like it. I don't like it, And
- 22:02Speaker 1: I feel that's where we were so often with Obama,
- 22:05Speaker 1: Like Obama would be doing some cool like yeah up
- 22:09Speaker 1: in Motown, like everybody come and do their performances, and
- 22:12Speaker 1: we'd be like, hey, I don't really like that. People
- 22:15Speaker 1: have other concerns right now, and it's like I don't like.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Totally, but I will say I did not like the
- 22:23Speaker 2: Joe Biden trans shirtless. We'll see that I legitimately did
- 22:30Speaker 2: not like that.
- 22:30Speaker 1: No, I don't think that's in the same category like
- 22:33Speaker 1: Obama having cool artists perform at the White House is
- 22:37Speaker 1: something that nominally most people are like, oh, Stevie Wonder's
- 22:40Speaker 1: at the White House, Like I'm not upset about that.
- 22:43Speaker 1: The tig ol Bitti's out on the South Lawn is
- 22:48Speaker 1: not the thing we're looking for. And I do think
- 22:51Speaker 1: many people who complain about the UFC who bypassed that
- 22:55Speaker 1: like really hard for you to say something now, do
- 23:00Speaker 1: like UFC is not for everybody. It is a giant, loud, brash, ridiculous,
- 23:06Speaker 1: sometimes stupid, course occasionally vulgar display of many things that
- 23:13Speaker 1: make America America.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I don't It's like, sure, yeah, I see that.
- 23:18Speaker 1: And it's funny because you'll see these postgame post fight
- 23:22Speaker 1: interviews and they're often very funny funnier than you expect.
- 23:25Speaker 1: They are often more sentimental than you would expect. One fighter,
- 23:29Speaker 1: I think reproposed to his wife on the White House lawn. Uh,
- 23:33Speaker 1: and you know did John three sixteen?
- 23:36Speaker 2: They do?
- 23:36Speaker 1: You know, they do all these sort of They're very
- 23:37Speaker 1: interesting characters. Now, the one real bad moment that I
- 23:42Speaker 1: think marred the whole thing one fighter Josh Hokitt, who
- 23:44Speaker 1: was like, I don't know the fourth from the last
- 23:47Speaker 1: fight heavyweight fighting Derek Lewis. He won, and I was
- 23:52Speaker 1: rooting for Derek Lewis to kick his bock because I
- 23:53Speaker 1: don't like him. He has an attitude, he's trying to
- 23:56Speaker 1: be like a very showy, almost ww heel character. He's
- 24:01Speaker 1: making trouble on purpose. I'm not sure why Dana White
- 24:03Speaker 1: thought he would be great for this because of this,
- 24:05Speaker 1: So he takes the mic afterwards and says, Michelle Obama
- 24:08Speaker 1: is a man. Are you with me, America? Something like that?
- 24:11Speaker 1: Am I right, America? And now people are of course
- 24:14Speaker 1: calling for the White House to denounce this, even Dave
- 24:17Speaker 1: Portno has said so, and I think, yeah, it's probably
- 24:20Speaker 1: the best thing just to be like, yeah, that was bad.
- 24:23Speaker 1: We don't like that. Dana White, what do you call?
- 24:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Dana White has denounced.
- 24:28Speaker 1: It, has said that he says, I understand that the
- 24:29Speaker 1: Obamas are public figures, but I'm completely against saying nasty
- 24:32Speaker 1: and false things about people's families. Everyone knows my position
- 24:35Speaker 1: on free speech, but I hate that kind of nonsense.
- 24:37Speaker 1: This is how White and the UFC uprate because you
- 24:40Speaker 1: are overseeing a bunch of very unpredictable fighters, people.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Who don't hit in the head a lot.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and he often lets them mouth off and then says,
- 24:50Speaker 1: I don't like this or I don't like that, And
- 24:52Speaker 1: it's on the very outsides that you get punished. And
- 24:55Speaker 1: he may well, but yeah, I really wish Derek Lewis
- 24:58Speaker 1: had beaten him, because Derek Lewis is vulgar, but not
- 25:02Speaker 1: that way, and he would have been a very funny
- 25:05Speaker 1: post fight interview. But he's forty one, so I don't know.
- 25:08Speaker 1: He wasn't he didn't didn't have what it took anyway.
- 25:11Speaker 1: At the end, in the last fight of the night,
- 25:14Speaker 1: an American underdog, Justin Gagee takes on a Spanish undefeated
- 25:20Speaker 1: fighter in the lightweight category and beats the heck out
- 25:26Speaker 1: of him and has this to say at the end,
- 25:30Speaker 1: and this is just one of the many moments that
- 25:32Speaker 1: we're pretty amazing.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Yeah, Joe Rogan, you had been waiting.
- 25:37Speaker 4: For this moment your entire career and to win it
- 25:41Speaker 4: in such a spectacular fashion in a fight where you
- 25:45Speaker 4: were at some points six to one underdog. How good
- 25:50Speaker 4: does this feel?
- 25:51Speaker 2: Hey, I'm from America. Do you want to fifty years?
- 25:54Speaker 2: You know all we were waiting to the six to one.
- 25:55Speaker 5: Dogs and look at this driving now. To all the current,
- 26:00Speaker 5: former and future military service members, thank you so much,
- 26:04Speaker 5: Thank you so much, all the first responders, the police officers, firefighters, EMPs.
- 26:11Speaker 5: You guys have no idea how greatli I am. And
- 26:14Speaker 5: for as long as I'm able to, I would use
- 26:16Speaker 5: my name to make money and support you guys. Love
- 26:20Speaker 5: this and foremost thank you and all glory to God.
- 26:23Speaker 5: I played so much for this opportunity to do something legendary,
- 26:27Speaker 5: and I know that was absolutely legendary because I cannot
- 26:31Speaker 5: even believe it.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Wow, all right, that's my guy. I know it's great
- 26:37Speaker 2: if I us the root for someone.
- 26:39Speaker 1: It's also he also ate young. He's thirty seven years
- 26:42Speaker 1: old for a fighter. He's getting on up there. So
- 26:45Speaker 1: there were a lot of great moments. He mentions the
- 26:46Speaker 1: first responders. Every fighter came out of the White House.
- 26:49Speaker 1: By the way, walking out from the White House wild
- 26:52Speaker 1: and actually kind of cool because you got to see
- 26:54Speaker 1: a lot of the inside of the White House as
- 26:55Speaker 1: they were walking out. Every walkout had an accompanying Medal
- 27:00Speaker 1: of Honor recipient, some of them one hundred years old
- 27:04Speaker 1: walking out with these fighters, or in the case of
- 27:06Speaker 1: the one hundred year old, coming out in a wheelchair
- 27:08Speaker 1: with them, so you'd get a little brief on who
- 27:10Speaker 1: those guys were and see them and their names. They
- 27:12Speaker 1: came out also with a nine to eleven first responder
- 27:15Speaker 1: most of them, so honoring those guys as well. And
- 27:18Speaker 1: then the marine band and vocalists did every single walkout
- 27:22Speaker 1: song and everything of the night live on the lawn.
- 27:26Speaker 2: That cool.
- 27:26Speaker 1: So everybody has a chosen walkout song. They were all
- 27:30Speaker 1: performed live on the lawn and the Marine band was
- 27:32Speaker 1: crazy good. So a lot of things going for it,
- 27:36Speaker 1: and that one moment, I think the President likely you
- 27:40Speaker 1: can't have a two fifty event and have that be
- 27:43Speaker 1: the thing. Now you're taking a risk with the UFC
- 27:46Speaker 1: group of guys, right, and that risk you know he
- 27:50Speaker 1: wanted attention. He's going to get it. That's what happened there,
- 27:53Speaker 1: and we'll see what the White House and others have
- 27:55Speaker 1: to say about it. Look, I really would encourage you,
- 27:57Speaker 1: even if you don't like UFC, to watch some highlights
- 27:59Speaker 1: from this because it is a very interesting type of
- 28:03Speaker 1: and and I introduced my parents to it last night
- 28:05Speaker 1: and explained a couple of things to them, and they
- 28:07Speaker 1: enjoyed it. I do hate that it wasn't simulcast on CBS.
- 28:11Speaker 1: That it was Paramount plus so you had to have
- 28:13Speaker 1: like access to it. A lot of tax dollars did
- 28:15Speaker 1: go to security, so that should have been something that
- 28:17Speaker 1: was available to people. And I think it would have
- 28:19Speaker 1: been very cool and a lot of people would have watched.
- 28:23Speaker 1: But while all this was happening, the Democrats counter programmed.
- 28:28Speaker 1: And I just want you to I just remind you
- 28:30Speaker 1: that these are the people who have all the major
- 28:33Speaker 1: talent on their side.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Every celebrity, they don't have to book Billie Vanilli, They
- 28:37Speaker 2: could go anywhere they want. Who did they book?
- 28:40Speaker 1: What did they get? Let's watch a little clip.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Oh you Fascius bo, you're ballu you Fetcius budlu.
- 28:51Speaker 4: Hey Lara, you are fascist. Let me put you straight.
- 28:55Speaker 2: When you come for the rest of us, we'll fight
- 28:58Speaker 2: you at the gate and you will you pass Batlu.
- 29:04Speaker 1: That's a Bette Midler and that was one of the
- 29:07Speaker 1: better acts. As our friend Bridget Fetesie said, Oh wow,
- 29:11Speaker 1: pretty impressive to get Julia Robertson Robert de Niro to
- 29:14Speaker 1: do a community theater production.
- 29:17Speaker 2: That is actually the flex here right again, like.
- 29:22Speaker 1: We operate in a vibe society. I'm sorry, like I'm
- 29:25Speaker 1: gonna go a little bit. I enjoy the UFC, so
- 29:28Speaker 1: I put aside some of any of my concerns last
- 29:30Speaker 1: night and was like, I'm gonna idiocracy this thing up
- 29:32Speaker 1: and enjoy the show. The vibes, Like the difference is
- 29:37Speaker 1: wild and they can't seem to enjoy themselves and give
- 29:41Speaker 1: us a good show, which would be the right way
- 29:43Speaker 1: to counterprogram this, but they are incapable of doing that
- 29:47Speaker 1: at this point, which is odd to me. I also
- 29:49Speaker 1: would say Keith Edwards, who it's a left leaning commentator,
- 29:53Speaker 1: had this to say. He just tweeted Trump and Dana
- 29:56Speaker 1: White coming out of the White House to begin this
- 29:59Speaker 1: thing and said this is so oh white trash. I'm sorry,
- 30:02Speaker 1: and I would just say, and of course I say
- 30:03Speaker 1: this affectionately as a UFC fan, this is a problem
- 30:07Speaker 1: for Democrats. It's not it's not white trash. It is
- 30:12Speaker 1: a rainbow of trash. If you think the UFC is trash,
- 30:18Speaker 1: it is a trash heap that looks like America right
- 30:21Speaker 1: and has this huge working class male demographic of all
- 30:26Speaker 1: colors that they can't seem to attract, and labeling it
- 30:33Speaker 1: white trash is exactly how you continue not to reach
- 30:37Speaker 1: those people.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Absolutely, and again, you don't have to like it, like
- 30:40Speaker 2: I am not a UFC person, but like to call
- 30:44Speaker 2: people who like it trash, like you don't get that
- 30:47Speaker 2: this is what America is loving and you just don't
- 30:51Speaker 2: represent the people.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's funny that somebody said that this is like, oh,
- 30:55Speaker 1: this terrible emulsion of fighting and selling things and being
- 31:02Speaker 1: very loud and patriotic, And yes, that sounds accurate to me.
- 31:08Speaker 1: I think I think a lot of these patriotic events
- 31:11Speaker 1: are going to suffer a tiny bit from Trump not
- 31:14Speaker 1: knowing where lines are right and not knowing that this
- 31:17Speaker 1: isn't all about him. Sometimes he has he has the
- 31:22Speaker 1: thing where he's like America is me. My interests are America,
- 31:25Speaker 1: and so it'll all work out. But gosh am I
- 31:28Speaker 1: glad we're doing America to fifty with him instead of.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, there means there are a lot ganio right,
- 31:34Speaker 2: Robert de Niro saying that loving this country is like
- 31:38Speaker 2: an abused, abused spouse loving her abuser. Like, no, there
- 31:43Speaker 2: was not, You're not right here.
- 31:45Speaker 1: There was a crazy poll of Republicans versus Democrats and
- 31:48Speaker 1: their patriotism levels, and Republicans it was ninety percent extremely
- 31:51Speaker 1: proud to be American, and Democrats it was in me twenties,
- 31:55Speaker 1: I think. And the thing is, if you switched it
- 32:00Speaker 1: and it was a different administration right now, Democrats would
- 32:03Speaker 1: we would Pelicans would still be a ninety. That's the difference.
- 32:08Speaker 1: And so for all the claims of us being partisan
- 32:12Speaker 1: about our patriotism, you guys kind of mean patriotism partisan.
- 32:16Speaker 1: You shouldn't have done that, Yeah, shouldn't have done that.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yeah. All right, one more sports story before we take
- 32:22Speaker 2: a break and tell you about the new trillionaire.
- 32:25Speaker 1: That is the Carolina Hurricanes winning the Stanley Cup last night.
- 32:29Speaker 1: It was the Vegas Knights versus the Carolina Hurricanes, and
- 32:32Speaker 1: I am from Carolina, but I kind of moved away
- 32:35Speaker 1: just as the franchise became a thing, so I cannot
- 32:37Speaker 1: claim being a true fan, although I have watched them
- 32:39Speaker 1: in person, have and enjoyed it. They won the Stanley
- 32:41Speaker 1: Cup twenty years ago, and the coach, the current coach,
- 32:44Speaker 1: was on that team as a player, so that's very funny.
- 32:47Speaker 1: He did a reenactment of his lifting of the Stanley Cup,
- 32:52Speaker 1: and that happened while the UFC fights were on. There's
- 32:54Speaker 1: just there was a lot going on this week.
- 32:55Speaker 2: GDS, A lot of a lot of sporty sports for
- 32:58Speaker 2: the sports fans.
- 33:00Speaker 1: All right, ask ye to our favorite fan, Shy.
- 33:09Speaker 2: All right, we're going to take a short break and
- 33:11Speaker 2: be right back with more on Normally. We are back
- 33:17Speaker 2: on normally where Elon Musk becoming a trillionaire mostly on
- 33:22Speaker 2: paper has made people lose their collective minds. It's called
- 33:28Speaker 2: paper wealth because it's really just the company value times
- 33:33Speaker 2: his ownership stake makes his estimated net worth, and SpaceX
- 33:37Speaker 2: went public last week. That valuation then pushed Musk's paper
- 33:42Speaker 2: net worth past the trillion dollars, and liberals are just
- 33:46Speaker 2: not taking it all that well. It's funny because I
- 33:50Speaker 2: really do want to hear Bernie Sanders add trillionaires, the
- 33:54Speaker 2: millionaires and the billionaires and the trillionaires. Yeah, so yeah,
- 34:00Speaker 2: I mentioned I went to see Noah kon last week
- 34:02Speaker 2: in Orlando, and I was so happy because that show
- 34:04Speaker 2: was so apolitical. The opener and the main event was
- 34:08Speaker 2: just no politics at all. And then for his third
- 34:11Speaker 2: Orlando show, he said, f you Elon Musk on stage.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I'm like, you don't have to do this, you just
- 34:18Speaker 2: you just don't have to participate in this at all.
- 34:19Speaker 2: It seemed kind of like almost like he felt he
- 34:22Speaker 2: had to say something, and it's it's pretty pathetic. Over
- 34:26Speaker 2: on Blue Sky, they are dreaming about killing Elon Musk. Yeah,
- 34:31Speaker 2: that's a they went over there because X is to
- 34:35Speaker 2: just toxic, very toxic. Yeah yeah, so yeah, yeah.
- 34:41Speaker 1: I think this is part of Liberals do not understand
- 34:45Speaker 1: that wealth can be created. Right, So if you have
- 34:48Speaker 1: a fixed pie view, your view is that his trillion
- 34:52Speaker 1: dollars came from taking trillions from other people. Now, the
- 34:58Speaker 1: irony of that is the thing they love most, which
- 35:00Speaker 1: is the federal government can only operate in a closed
- 35:04Speaker 1: pie system. It is the closed pie right. They can't
- 35:07Speaker 1: get any bigger. It can only take from us. Now,
- 35:10Speaker 1: we can make the pie bigger. Someone like Elon Musk
- 35:12Speaker 1: can make the pie bigger, from which the federal government
- 35:15Speaker 1: can steal your money. But they can't create anything, so
- 35:18Speaker 1: they're not familiar with wealth creation sometimes, and I don't
- 35:22Speaker 1: think our country has done any economics instruction for like
- 35:26Speaker 1: the past fifteen.
- 35:27Speaker 2: That's the problem right there. That's really the giant issue here,
- 35:32Speaker 2: and it's trickled down into everything. Mike Solana, who's like
- 35:35Speaker 2: one of my favorite people to follow on x. He's
- 35:39Speaker 2: at Pirate Wires and he's just real smart. But he
- 35:41Speaker 2: tweets tech people trying to politely untangle the logic of
- 35:44Speaker 2: democrats today, explaining how wealth is really held produced and
- 35:48Speaker 2: all the good that the industry is doing is if
- 35:50Speaker 2: people like Sanders or Mumdani or Kana care. They don't.
- 35:54Speaker 2: They just want your shit. Please understand this already. And
- 35:57Speaker 2: then he follows us up with like quotes like but
- 35:59Speaker 2: this would kill it innovation. They don't care. But this
- 36:01Speaker 2: would wouldn't actually help the poor, bro, they don't care.
- 36:04Speaker 2: In fact, this would take the whole economy, The whole
- 36:06Speaker 2: country could become depressed, what are you not getting? Consuming?
- 36:10Speaker 2: Consuming you is the Democratic Party's only goal, and that's.
- 36:13Speaker 1: That's the goal.
- 36:14Speaker 2: That's it.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Yeah, And they can't get their minds around and they
- 36:18Speaker 1: don't care to cover for the most part, at least
- 36:20Speaker 1: in the way that they would if I guess if
- 36:22Speaker 1: it was a liberal trillionaire, they'd cover it. But the
- 36:25Speaker 1: idea that welders at SpaceX who took a chance on
- 36:29Speaker 1: these jobs and had ten thousands of dollars in stock
- 36:32Speaker 1: and became millionaires overnight, that we can't embrace that. I mean,
- 36:38Speaker 1: there's one wonderful guy who's been doing media saying, well, yeah,
- 36:41Speaker 1: like I took this job just as a blue collar worker,
- 36:44Speaker 1: and now I'm a millionaire, and I teach my children
- 36:46Speaker 1: to invest in how their money can make money. And
- 36:49Speaker 1: that is a beautiful story to me. And having Bernie
- 36:53Speaker 1: Sanders take money, by the way, who's never created anything
- 36:56Speaker 1: anything his own wealth mysteriously in four different houses, but
- 37:01Speaker 1: that's right, Like he's never created anything, and he's going
- 37:04Speaker 1: to take that money and give it to a welder somewhere,
- 37:06Speaker 1: and so the welder just like earning it and being
- 37:09Speaker 1: part of an amazing experiment with Elon Musk, who, by
- 37:13Speaker 1: the way, whether you like him or not, has very
- 37:17Speaker 1: demonstrably created insanely innovative things help a bunch people.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Yeah, really revolutionized space travel, revolutionized electric cars like Okay,
- 37:27Speaker 2: he didn't invent electric cars, but he made the Tesla
- 37:30Speaker 2: what it is, and it just it's been incredible to watch.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Sean Trendy from Real Clear Politics also had a really
- 37:37Speaker 2: good tweet. He said, just think how many lives we
- 37:40Speaker 2: could change if we took all of Elon's wealth and
- 37:42Speaker 2: gave each American three hundred and three dollars in SpaceX
- 37:45Speaker 2: and Tesla stock, which would quickly be worth zero dollars
- 37:48Speaker 2: since the vast majority of us, myself included, know nothing
- 37:50Speaker 2: about running a space company or car company. Yes, three
- 37:55Speaker 2: hundred and three dollars would go down real fast.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I saw someone tweet and I wish I could credit
- 37:59Speaker 1: it that, you know, I think the problem is some
- 38:02Speaker 1: people don't really understand the scale of being a Yeah. Yeah,
- 38:06Speaker 1: the federal government could build at least half a high
- 38:09Speaker 1: speed rail system and a couple of learning centers with
- 38:13Speaker 1: some money, right.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Yeah. It was David Zagano that was the name, and
- 38:18Speaker 2: he said, the sheer scale of a trillion dollars could
- 38:20Speaker 2: be hard to comprehend. Let me put it in perspective.
- 38:22Speaker 2: You would be able to buy forty two miles of
- 38:24Speaker 2: high speed rail in California with that much money. No good,
- 38:29Speaker 2: Enjoy your trillion, Enjoy your trillion, Elon Musk. He also
- 38:32Speaker 2: famously said Elon that money doesn't buy happiness, and he's
- 38:36Speaker 2: you know, sounded kind of sad when he said it
- 38:38Speaker 2: because he seems not like the happiest guy in the world. Yeah,
- 38:42Speaker 2: that's true. Money can't buy happiness, So stop trying to
- 38:45Speaker 2: take away people's money in search of that happiness.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Yeah, get yourself a Knicks championship instead, get a Jabad Nick.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Shirt and that's it.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Yeah, there you go.
