- 1:47Ladies and gentlemen, the one. He in bed.
- 1:49I I don't know where he is. He looks like he's in his car.
- 1:53Is he? It's the one quiet place they
- 1:56got in the house. So he's hanging out in his bed.
- 1:59He's hanging out in his bed. He's in gentlemen, I listen.
- 2:02I like to hang out in my bed. If I could do an interview on my
- 2:04bed and do a show on my bed, I might as well do that.
- 2:07But ladies and gentlemen, he's the one and only Brewers, ex
- 2:10Brewer, ex Mariner, ex Pirate outfielder, the one sunglass
- 2:14himself. He's not wearing sunglasses in
- 2:16his in his bed right now, enjoying himself watching
- 2:19television and probably watching the Brewers play and hopefully
- 2:22lose the one and only Corey. Corey, what's up, man?
- 2:28Good man, how you guys doing? I'm good, man.
- 2:31I mean, you look good, but hey, we we all remember you, man.
- 2:34And I don't know if people mistaken you from, you know, the
- 2:38old song, I wear my sunglasses at night.
- 2:42Remember that song? Remember the 90s?
- 2:44Remember that. Classic.
- 2:46What? I'm sorry.
- 2:46That's a classic. Of course it's a classic.
- 2:49Yeah, of course Corey Hart sang it.
- 2:51So maybe they mistaken you from that.
- 2:55I don't know. That's a That's a far cry.
- 2:57Oh well, you don't want me to cry.
- 2:58I don't think you want to see me cry.
- 2:59I've never. I don't cry too much on this
- 3:02show. I actually make people cry and
- 3:04I'm not going to do that tonight because I want you to be happy
- 3:07and you're in your bed. I'm in bed try.
- 3:12I live on a farm. There's like 1 quiet spot in the
- 3:13house all right? So you don't want me to cry?
- 3:15You don't want me me to make you cry?
- 3:17Are you afraid of all? Right.
- 3:19Could I make you cry about horror movies?
- 3:21You like horror movies? I do, all right.
- 3:23What's your favorite horror movie?
- 3:24If you like horror movies, I this is how I'm going to judge
- 3:27you. I'm a Scream fan.
- 3:30Scream, that's your horror movie.
- 3:34I like the original scream. Oh, stop, Corey.
- 3:37I asked you what your favorite horror movie is and you said
- 3:40Scream. Come on man.
- 3:42I'm a I'm a teenage girl at heart, man Teenage.
- 3:49I mean, the the best part of that movie was Drew Barrymore in
- 3:51the beginning. That was about it.
- 3:53That was the best part of the movie.
- 3:54I knew it was. Going to happen.
- 3:56Yeah, come on, Corey. I I'm, I'm lost now.
- 3:59We we talk about horror movies and you give me scream.
- 4:01Give me another one. What's your second favorite
- 4:03horror movie? Me.
- 4:07I mean, I like the Insidious movies.
- 4:09I like the Conjurans. Alright, alright, I like.
- 4:12That I mean like, I guess like the ones that outside of my
- 4:15teenage girl and I, I watched the original like Nightmare on
- 4:18Elm streets all the time. Oh, nightmare, now, now you're
- 4:21doing you're now you're talking. I I love Freddy Krueger.
- 4:24You know, I I-11 Halloween, I actually I don't dress up, but I
- 4:28love Freddy so much because I love, I love, you know, scaring
- 4:31people when they're sleeping. I and he's like Nightmare on Elm
- 4:35Street in your dreams, kills you in your dreams that that my
- 4:38friends are is my favorite like killer when it comes to Jason
- 4:43and all those idiots, you know, running around with their knives
- 4:46in their axes in their whatever they are.
- 4:49Anyways, let's get off horror movies because I don't want to
- 4:52scare anybody. Some of the kids that they're
- 4:54probably in bed right now hanging out with Corey.
- 4:56That's what we should call this segment, hanging out with Corey.
- 4:59Corey, obviously the Brewers are as hot as they ever been.
- 5:03I mean, they they're hitting, they're pitching, they're
- 5:07driving on all cylinders. Are you surprised with obviously
- 5:11with a new manager over the last year and a half, two years, and
- 5:15with some of the young players that they have right now in
- 5:17their lineup, are you surprised that this team is as red hot as
- 5:20it's been? I mean, yeah, yes or no.
- 5:24I'm, I'm around the guys, you know, throughout the years.
- 5:27Third, you know, kind of throughout they like their farm
- 5:30systems, like their player development guys do such a good
- 5:32job of trying to create like instead of trying to create
- 5:36these huge power guys, they've done a really good job of trying
- 5:39to create like contact hitters, speed guys.
- 5:42And that's kind of been their draft.
- 5:43And like you see these guys go through the mire leagues pretty
- 5:46fast and of course they they got up and they adjusted like crazy.
- 5:49Man, these guys are super athletic.
- 5:50And I mean the slow start was kind of not really surprising.
- 5:55You kind of expect it with some of these the guys trying to find
- 5:59their footing, I guess. But I mean, once they got going,
- 6:01I mean once they got any kind of taste of confidence, you kind of
- 6:04you felt like they could win a ton of games.
- 6:06So Mizarowski Mania has really taken over since he got called
- 6:09up in May, He's been one of the. Best.
- 6:11Is that what they call it? I think it's what they called it
- 6:13locally, Miz Mania, some stuff like that.
- 6:15Like, are you surprised you got off it like that fast of a start
- 6:17the way he did? And like, what are your thoughts
- 6:19to like all the popularity you're seeing now with him?
- 6:22Anytime you have like that small market, like you always look for
- 6:25something that fans can attach themselves to.
- 6:27I mean, like there's a lot of I mean, it's not that Prince
- 6:29filter Braun kind of situation anymore.
- 6:31Yelich, one of those guys that is crazy like like that
- 6:35marketable guy where you can kind of like the Miz, you know,
- 6:37I mean, like you have the Miz like he you can market him so
- 6:40well. He's that young guy that people
- 6:41attach themselves to. I'm surprised he's done as good
- 6:44as he was. I know control was kind of an
- 6:45issue for him. He's been pretty good.
- 6:46He's been pretty crazy and him that the roster has been pretty
- 6:49amazing for those guys. Yeah, I was going to ask you
- 6:52obviously from the pitching side and and you kind of you finished
- 6:55career kind of when all this political BS was was starting at
- 7:00the at the forefront. Like with him, like it put
- 7:03yourself in like a manager front office.
- 7:05Like with a guy like the Miz and the situation they're in right
- 7:08now. Do you just let him go be him or
- 7:11do you like we've seen before when they shut down like
- 7:14Strasburg, for example, like, oh, you're not pitching in the
- 7:16playoffs because innings. I personally hate it because if
- 7:20you're going to blow out, you're going to blow out.
- 7:22And if you're my dude that can help us get to where we want to
- 7:24go, then you know I'm going to I'm going to ride it.
- 7:27Do you do you? I guess look at the analyticals,
- 7:31like I've always said, like there's a place for it, but it's
- 7:35not the end all that meets all. There still needs to be a little
- 7:37bit of feel. You guys are idiots with your
- 7:40sunglasses. What is you guys are?
- 7:42Absolutely. He didn't even know what you
- 7:45were talking about. It's his name.
- 7:48But would, would you let would you let him go or would you
- 7:51basically like pull him in being so young and what he's got
- 7:54bubble guts? Blame, right?
- 7:56Write him out, man. I think they've done a good job
- 7:57of Flemington, like pitch count. Like, you know, I know he was
- 8:00kind of banged up a little bit, but I think that was more
- 8:02extended than needed to be. I think the team's playing so
- 8:04well, didn't have to rush him to get back.
- 8:06There's such a good situation. I can't imagine they get to the
- 8:08post season and limit what he's doing fairly young.
- 8:10He's not far removed from throwing 150 innings a year.
- 8:13Maybe some pitch counts in September.
- 8:14Definitely going to be. My son's a sophomore in college.
- 8:17So yeah, I know that they don't ever take a break or, you know,
- 8:22they want to take a break. I mean, my son just got back
- 8:25down to school. They start tomorrow.
- 8:26So, yeah, they, they don't stop throwing, which I think
- 8:29sometimes it's, it helps, but sometimes, you know, it gets, it
- 8:34gets in the way where these injuries crawl up a little bit
- 8:36sooner than you would like. So yeah, I would run them out
- 8:39there too. I mean, that's, that's a guy.
- 8:41If you want to be in that position, you you got to have
- 8:43that arm out there in in some way, shape or form, so.
- 8:47As everybody knows, we are talking to former Brewers and
- 8:49Mariners and Pirates outfielder Corey Hart.
- 8:52I'm wearing my sunglasses. I mean, obviously I'm I'm a
- 8:56Corey Hart fan. That was one of my favorite late
- 8:5980s, early 90s songs. I actually spin it in many
- 9:02different ways. Housewives, hip hop, I've put
- 9:06beats on top of that track. I love it.
- 9:08And I'm wearing my sunglasses for you, Corey.
- 9:10So you should be honored. You should be honored that I'm
- 9:13wearing wonderful sunglasses and and just who you are and what
- 9:17you do as a well former baseball player.
- 9:19You know, it's interesting right now when it comes to the
- 9:22Pittsburgh Pirates and they're an organization that can't
- 9:25control Paul schemes. Obviously, the guy goes on
- 9:28different podcasts. He's all over the place.
- 9:31He's one of the best pitchers in baseball.
- 9:33If not, you can argue he's the best pitcher in the National
- 9:35League. And this guy's been on every
- 9:37single podcast. He doesn't look happy over there
- 9:39in Pittsburgh. The Pirates have been told by
- 9:43his agent and from many people on on his side that he doesn't
- 9:47want to be there. What do you do with a guy that
- 9:50doesn't want to be there and he's one of the best pitchers in
- 9:52baseball. How do you make him happy or do
- 9:55you move? How do you move on from a guy
- 9:56like that when there's nobody, there's not there's not a team
- 10:00out there that has enough to land a young, talented pitcher
- 10:04of Paul Skene's talent right now in the major leagues.
- 10:08If. You're not going to build around
- 10:09him. He's never going to be happy.
- 10:10So he's his value is obviously at all time high.
- 10:14So I think some, you know, the Yankees are, you know, one of
- 10:18these big markets, the Red Sox are even the Dodgers can, I'm
- 10:21sure they can have some sort of package.
- 10:22That would be something the Pirates want because, you know,
- 10:27they need a lot more than one main pitcher to can or, you
- 10:31know, to battle out in the Central.
- 10:33You know what's crazy You you mentioned the Yankees and the
- 10:35Yankees don't have a farm system there.
- 10:37There are five teams that really stand out to me that could
- 10:40probably land a guy like Paul Skeens, But what are you willing
- 10:42to give up? Are you willing to give up six
- 10:45top prospects? I know they're just prospects
- 10:47and Jabba says they're just prospects.
- 10:49I understand that. But again, you're, you're going
- 10:53after one of the young dominant pitchers in baseball and, and,
- 10:56and a guy that has you're, you're watching not like being
- 10:59over there in Pittsburgh and one of the best stadiums in all of
- 11:02baseball in front of some of the best fans in all of baseball.
- 11:05And he's going out there and and throwing the organization onto
- 11:08the bus, management under the bus.
- 11:11And it does that look good for somebody of the Yankees
- 11:14magnitude or the Dodgers or the Red Sox to go after where he's
- 11:18just not making the organization, he's not making
- 11:20the organization he's playing for right now look good to me.
- 11:24You can't control a player like that.
- 11:26Why would you want to go after a player like that?
- 11:29I agree, but I they're going to move them.
- 11:32I still know how they you know what team's going to pony up
- 11:35everything they want. I mean, I think you look, it's
- 11:39happened before. We have kind of outspoken guys
- 11:42that don't want to be somewhere. I think I mean, he might, maybe
- 11:45he's doing it wrong, but I mean he's too good and one of these
- 11:48teams are going to give up a lot for him and he doesn't have to
- 11:51be prospects. He could be big league guys
- 11:53right now. I mean, I think if you have kind
- 11:55of early arbitration guys, I mean, I'm the answer to the
- 11:58Yankees. I have a couple 123 guys that
- 12:01that are on the rush right now that have a few years left that
- 12:03the Pirates would want. Is it Anthony Volpe, Errol.
- 12:08Will settle the trait of him. Errol will settle the trait
- 12:10around jazz Jizzle, as he likes to call it.
- 12:12Oh, please. Oh, Jazz Jizzy, Jizzy compleesy.
- 12:16I mean, he's inconclusive. I'm trying to give my words on
- 12:20this show, man, I I've, I've made-up.
- 12:22They have the Spencer guy, right?
- 12:24The Spencer Jones, Is that his name?
- 12:25Spencer Jones, but I. Mean, I mean, not not that they
- 12:29would not that they would get rid of him, but that's the kind
- 12:31of guy that's going to take to get scheme.
- 12:33I mean, he's going that would that would have to be something
- 12:35like that or even the Brewers. I mean, not the Brewers want to
- 12:37pay for schemes, but they have a great system.
- 12:40You know, they have a couple, a couple guys in the top ten that
- 12:43I'm sure the Pirates will want. Would you trade like hands on
- 12:47like heads up a guy like Miserowski for a pull schemes?
- 12:52Would you would you do something like that?
- 12:54No, not at all. Really.
- 12:56So you would you don't think Miss Orowski is, you think Miss
- 12:59Orowski is untouchable or even with for Paul Skeens?
- 13:03Just for the value. I mean like, because Brewers are
- 13:05not a like they're the small market.
- 13:08So they couldn't afford or Paul's, you know, he's going to
- 13:12he's going to ask for this huge amount of money in a few years
- 13:15and the Brewers obviously wouldn't be able to pay for it
- 13:17where they could control miss for, you know, they got five
- 13:20years left of him. And I mean, he might be
- 13:22expensive, but you might be able to get a deal a deal with him
- 13:25early on that give him you know, where you can kind of have that
- 13:27team control for a lengthy period.
- 13:29But schemes will never do that. He's too, you know, his his
- 13:33value's too high. He's too marketable.
- 13:34He's too you know, he's kind of that face of baseball right now.
- 13:37So he's, he's out. I mean, to me, payroll, he's out
- 13:40of that, out of that league. He'd have to go to a big market.
- 13:42Interesting. So Speaking of payroll, we've
- 13:44seen, we've heard this debate a lot with a lot of players going
- 13:46after Rob Manfred for wanting to implement a salary cap, try to
- 13:49create parity in baseball. A lot of the players where we've
- 13:51been very against and obviously the MLBPA is very strong on
- 13:54that. What are your thoughts to that
- 13:56whole divide really the pay seal and the pay floor we've seen
- 13:58among these big and small market teams?
- 14:01Yeah. I mean, I don't think they're
- 14:02like, as a guy, I play most of the teams I play for, obviously
- 14:05small market, but I don't think that's a big deal.
- 14:08I mean, if teams want to go pay, they can go pay.
- 14:09I think the thing they need to do is have a floor.
- 14:12I think teams should be forced to pay a certain amount of
- 14:14money. I mean, like, I don't whether
- 14:16it's $80 million or something like that, they should make
- 14:19teams like the Pirates or that he's somebody, a smaller market
- 14:23team that doesn't pay a lot. They should make those guys have
- 14:26a certain amount of money they have to pay to get these guys
- 14:28where they can compete for these bigger teams.
- 14:33Yeah, we, we've seen that too. I don't remember what year it
- 14:35was, Corey. You might remember when I think
- 14:38the Marlins had just lost like 106 games and then they ended up
- 14:41signing like Reyes and Burley because they're like, you have
- 14:44to do something. Obviously they're getting, you
- 14:46know, they're getting compensated over the luxury tax
- 14:48for all the teams that actually do spend money.
- 14:51Do you think, Like, do you think, And I don't know if you
- 14:53were a part of when the CBA came, if you're a representative
- 14:58or just went to the meetings or whatever, but do you think
- 15:01they'll ever be a salary cap in baseball?
- 15:03I mean, I, me personally, I don't think so.
- 15:05Just for all the work that, you know, the guys before us have
- 15:07kind of set the standard. I I just don't think there.
- 15:10Ever will be. I mean, I don't know, I think
- 15:11it'd be hard. I don't think the players would
- 15:13want it. It's one of those things where,
- 15:15I mean again, if they if they would give teams like amount of
- 15:19money they have to spend. And then like, to me, I don't
- 15:21think you punish the bigger markets for spending money.
- 15:25Like they should spend all these all these owners have a ton of a
- 15:27ton of money. Like I'm of course, I'm in
- 15:29Milwaukee, so I'm there all the time.
- 15:31Their owner has a crazy amount of money.
- 15:33I mean, he doesn't spend it because of the whatever reason,
- 15:35but they're always Milwaukee's always competitive.
- 15:38So I think if owners really want to spend it, I think they should
- 15:42and they shouldn't small teams shouldn't be punished, I guess
- 15:45for that. But I mean, I agree they have to
- 15:49give a little money back to teams that don't spend as much,
- 15:51but I think teams have to spend money.
- 15:53So I think again, the Pirates, they need to go out and have an
- 15:56$80 million payroll, $100 million payroll, whatever that
- 15:59floor might be. I don't think you punish the
- 16:02Dodgers for spending money. I mean, I don't like, I think
- 16:05it's crazy that you can defer that kind of money.
- 16:07But I mean, I mean, but if you can get away with it, you know,
- 16:10they're not breaking rules. So maybe that might be something
- 16:13that's an issue because you know, they're they're able to
- 16:17have a crazy payroll without having a crazy payroll.
- 16:20It's it's so interesting and by the way, if anybody doesn't
- 16:23know, we are talking to former Brewers, Mariners and Pirates
- 16:26outfielder Corey Hart. If you notice, I'm wearing
- 16:28glasses. The only reason why I'm wearing
- 16:30glasses because if anybody knows I the the sunglass song from the
- 16:34late 80s and early 90s. I wear my sunglasses out night.
- 16:37Well, I wear my sunglasses in the studio.
- 16:40Ladies and gentlemen for Corey Hart, ladies and gentlemen, as a
- 16:44Fish has, I know, I don't know if Corey is actually watching
- 16:47the screen, but Fish created some kind of, you know,
- 16:51interesting Polaroid. But anyways, Corey, there's so
- 16:56many interesting things that is going on right now in baseball.
- 17:00The Yankees absolutely sucked. The Mets are falling right off
- 17:02the grid. And I, I mean, have you ever
- 17:05seen a team fall flat on their ass, including a Yankees team in
- 17:11the second-half as much as this Yankee team?
- 17:14And what do you think the Yankees need to do in the
- 17:16offseason? Do you think they need to fire
- 17:18Aaron Boone? Is it Aaron Boone the reason why
- 17:21that this team is just absolutely a joke?
- 17:23Or do you feel like the Yankees aren't doing enough in free
- 17:26agency or even developing players over the last couple of
- 17:29years? Where would you go and why do
- 17:31you think this is happening? I mean, well, philosophy, I
- 17:35mean, I think you can look at maybe philosophy a little bit.
- 17:38They definitely live and die by the home run.
- 17:40And I mean, I know they have a hitter friendly part, but you
- 17:44know, I think if you can build a little more well-rounded like
- 17:49team hitting wise where a little more contacts involved, but that
- 17:53might help situation where you the situation where you don't
- 17:56hit a ton of home runs. You have those stretches where
- 17:59you know you're trying to put the ball and play a little more
- 18:01consistently. That might help.
- 18:02But they've had a ton of injuries, man.
- 18:03So I think they're a good team. They just, they could, you know,
- 18:07Cole stays healthy from the start.
- 18:09I mean, it's probably a different season.
- 18:10I don't think they're that far off.
- 18:13So I wanted to ask, going back to your career about a guy that
- 18:15you played with that was one of the best power hitters in Prince
- 18:18Fielder. Java played with him a little
- 18:19bit later in his career as well with Detroit.
- 18:21What was he like as a teammate and what do you have a good
- 18:23story of him? No, Prince was awesome, man, but
- 18:27I was fortunate I was with Prince from the, you know, minor
- 18:29leagues through the 1st, like four or five years in the big
- 18:32league. So I was around him quite a bit.
- 18:34But now he's, he's just a funny, fun loving guy, man.
- 18:37He's, he's definitely a fun guy to be on your team with and he
- 18:42definitely takes pressure off you as a hitter.
- 18:44I don't have to, I never had to do anything special because I
- 18:46have big, big Prince with me most of the time.
- 18:48So I I benefited by being able to kind of in the background
- 18:53with him. I mean, looking at him, I, you
- 18:56wouldn't think that he's as athletic as he was.
- 18:58You watch, I've watched his father Cecil play for the
- 19:01Yankees in Detroit over the in the 80s and the guy was a power
- 19:05hitter. And Prince really became the
- 19:08face of the Milwaukee Brewers for a significant amount of
- 19:11time. This guy, didn't he win an MVP
- 19:13one year? I believe so.
- 19:14He won an MVP. He was unbelievable.
- 19:18He had an interesting swing. The guy can run for a guy as
- 19:21heavy as him. I think at one point, I don't
- 19:24know his weight, but the guy was big.
- 19:26I think he was 6364 and he was almost 300 lbs.
- 19:30And this guy is stealing second base.
- 19:32A couple of times I've seen him running, getting triples.
- 19:35I mean, I've never seen a guy that big run the the bases as
- 19:40well as he did. I mean, what have you seen
- 19:43anything, any player of that magnitude, that big run the way
- 19:47he ran play, the way he played on a baseball field?
- 19:51A few things. You you said Prince is 6364.
- 19:54Yeah, no, he's like 511. Oh, really?
- 19:57But yeah, but but that that to me, that actually makes it even
- 20:00more impressive because he was like that 511 mark and he was,
- 20:04you know, two 8300 lbs. Like I saw him run under A7
- 20:08under a under a 760. That dude, I mean, for his size,
- 20:12he was crazy athletic and he moved like crazy.
- 20:15I mean, part of that was too his his, his energy level was pretty
- 20:19through the roof. Everything was full speed with
- 20:21that guy. Five, 11275 lbs.
- 20:24You know, when I watched him, he looked bigger than that.
- 20:27He played bigger than that. He really?
- 20:29Did. He did.
- 20:30He, no, he moved like crazy man. He was athletic as hell.
- 20:34I, I, his father and I watched his father.
- 20:37I remember when he was playing for Detroit, he bunted a ball
- 20:40and it went over in Detroit. He had a home run by bunting a
- 20:44ball. That's how.
- 20:44But how strong, that's how Fielder was.
- 20:46And we're going to have his son, Nathan actually reached out to
- 20:49his son. We're going to have him on a,
- 20:52we're going to Prince's son on the show.
- 20:54And that's he's the grandson of Cecil Fielder.
- 20:59It's pretty impressive to see a three generations of talented
- 21:03young baseball players get a chance to play professional
- 21:06baseball. It's pretty incredible.
- 21:08I I have you ever seen a a baseball as a baseball fan, a
- 21:12family of have you know, 3 generations or 4 generations of
- 21:16baseball players? When I play with the Harrisons
- 21:19they're that's a pretty, pretty impressive family too I forgot
- 21:24about. That but.
- 21:25But I got a funny, a funny Jaden story.
- 21:28So like he was him and my son were like best friends and their
- 21:30kids. So like he was staying over one
- 21:34of our like spring training games and we had like, you know,
- 21:37cameras everywhere. So the kids were young.
- 21:39So we had cameras in the kids rooms and we kept kind of spying
- 21:43on the boys and we actually had both boys.
- 21:46Haven was over there too, the younger boy.
- 21:48But we kept kind of like my wife had kind of ringed in and tell
- 21:53him to shut up or go to bed or turn something off.
- 21:55And you can see Jayden didn't had no idea we had cameras in
- 21:57there. And he was like probably 7.
- 22:01And he's like, how the fuck are they looking at us?
- 22:06I was like, of course, you know, you want to get mad at the kids
- 22:08for cussing, but I'm like, dude, that is hilarious.
- 22:14Well, I will sell. I will say this, you're an
- 22:17interesting cat is the first time on this show I'm wearing
- 22:20sunglasses. So you should be very proud to
- 22:22get me and draw me where wearing sunglasses inside the studio.
- 22:27But we really appreciate the time.
- 22:29Corey, I definitely would love to get you on the show.
- 22:31Maybe we'll get you and Prince on at the same time and we can
- 22:34go back and forth and trivia who knows a little bit more.
- 22:37And when it comes to baseball trivia, who would you think
- 22:39would win? When it comes to baseball
- 22:40trivia, you are Prince. I may not to knock France, but
- 22:45I'm a I'm a baseball rat man. I think I I win a lot of that.
- 22:49I win a lot of trivia with baseball games.
- 22:51Corey, do you know the great, the great stat that they have,
- 22:53the two that they've had the same amount of home runs?
- 22:56The same with them. Yeah, Yeah.
- 22:57And it was pretty like similar amount of games too, wasn't it?
- 23:00Yeah. It was like, it's my favorite
- 23:03baseball fan. Ever though, that was the.
- 23:05Case. So we need Jaden to get up there
- 23:07to kind of see if he can pop, pop pops and grand pops, yeah.
- 23:10He has his 319th home runs. Just retire on the spot.
- 23:17And that's right, Fish was like the Molina's Benji, Jose and
- 23:20Yadier. But that's aren't they brothers?
- 23:24That's brothers. I mean 3 generations,
- 23:26grandfather, son and grandson. I I think Benji, Jose and yadda
- 23:32yadda, they're all brothers. They're all, they're all
- 23:33brothers. Yeah.
- 23:34So because I, because I played against Scott and played with
- 23:37Jerry, but Jared Scott, kid Landon is like, he's really,
- 23:42really good really. So he'll be He's not far behind.
- 23:45I'm interested to see. That's what's so great about
- 23:47baseball. You you see guys and sons, they
- 23:50grow up. They they want to be their dads.
- 23:52And some of them, I mean, most of them don't really become what
- 23:56their fathers were in professional baseball or
- 23:58professional basketball or football.
- 24:00But some of them, some of them like Ken Griffey junior,
- 24:03remember him? Ken Griffey senior was a pretty
- 24:05good play, nothing like his son, one of the greatest power
- 24:08hitters, Vladimir Guerrero, the Guerrero as I see fish putting
- 24:11the Guerrero son and son and father.
- 24:16I was the grandfather in professional baseball.
- 24:18I don't know. Anyways, Corey, we appreciate
- 24:21the time. We'll talk to you soon, buddy.
- 24:23All right. Thanks guys.
- 24:24Corey Hart, ladies and gentlemen, very interesting as
- 24:27always. Baseball players are always
- 24:29interesting, ladies and gentlemen because you get into
- 24:32conversation and trying to figure out who and what type of
- 24:36player they are. And Corey's interesting.
- 24:39I would love to see if he is a trivia guru.
- 24:42I would love to know how much trivia he really knows when it
- 24:45comes to baseball. That is my question because I am
- 24:49a I'm not one one for trivia when it comes to I'm more of a
- 24:53football, basketball trivia guy. I know hockey too.
- 24:56Anything in the 80s, in the 70s and the 90s.
- 24:59I think I, I, I think I'd rock people.
- 25:02But when it comes to the new age hockey, I think I think guys
- 25:05like Speedy or maybe even Fish would know a little bit more
- 25:07than I do when it comes to certain things.
- 25:09But yeah, trivia is the interesting thing.
- 25:13We did a duel between Corey Hart and Tic Tac.
- 25:15Tic Tac? No champion.
- 25:16Kevin Mensch. That's.
- 25:18True. That's true.
- 25:19All right, ladies and gentlemen, speedy stat of the day the.
- 25:25Speedy Well, you may run like me, but you hit like.
- 25:32The wake. I love that one.
- 25:34How do you like that one? I like it very.
- 25:36I know. I worked on it.
- 25:37I had to pick that one. I had to get something.
- 25:40I had to cut something that would stand out from all the
- 25:43other garbage that we've done over the years with your stats
- 25:46and your craziness. But go ahead.
- 25:48I'm sorry. Well, I want to bring Fisher
- 25:50because this is actually this one this week is actually
- 25:52something that he would relate to as a offensive line coach.
- 25:55So the one I'm actually going to do is actually about penalties
- 25:58this week. So Packers second round pick
- 26:00Anthony Belton, which as you and I both thought it was like a big
- 26:02reach of the time anyway, commits 5 penalties in their
- 26:05preseason game against the Colts, which is tied for the
- 26:08most, And individual penalties are being tracked beginning in
- 26:112006. So the regular season record is
- 26:13Juwan Taylor, who did it two years ago against his former
- 26:15team in the Jaguar. So there's two bits of this that
- 26:18are very interesting. So Juwan Taylor has the most
- 26:20since he debuted in the league and his teammate with the
- 26:22Chiefs, Donovan Smith was second with 43.
- 26:25Like Taylor at 49 and then the Smith at 43.
- 26:29And then for Belton, he joins a Packers team that was tied for
- 26:32third last year with the Giants in offensive line penalties last
- 26:36season with 112. So maybe some concerns with the
- 26:38second round rookie already and for the Packers that want to
- 26:40make a leap this year with their offensive line.
- 26:43I honestly, I, I don't know anything about the preseason or
- 26:47what these guys are going to be until the the season starts and
- 26:50they step on a, a professional football field.
- 26:52You could be really, really bad, really, really bad on another
- 26:56team. You can go to another
- 26:57organization with another top end line.
- 26:59You get put smack in the middle. Mackay back then we all know
- 27:02him. You move them to the guard
- 27:04position from the tackle position and it becomes an all
- 27:06world Pro Bowl tackle. So again, communicating and and
- 27:11understanding what position and they've played over the in
- 27:14college and then coming to the pros and playing from one
- 27:17organization to another is different.
- 27:19I'm want to see what Evan Neil is going to be.
- 27:21That's what I want to see. Moving him to the guard.
- 27:24I I can't wait to see that. That's what I.
- 27:27You're right about the tackle to guard thing.
- 27:29That was actually a hack that I used to do in Madden Football
- 27:32Franchise mode years ago, because if you took a tackle who
- 27:35was like an 80 and put him at guard, he'd be like a 95.
- 27:39And it's not really like that in real life, but it's a lot easier
- 27:43in a position to play for certain body types.
- 27:46I think what you're trying to get at Speedy, those types of
- 27:48penalties this early usually tell you one thing.
- 27:52He's not technically sound as a player, whether it's either he
- 27:55doesn't know the plays yet and he's making mistakes, which you
- 27:58hope it is, or he's got bad technique and he's holding
- 28:04because these guys are strong, bigger, stronger and faster than
- 28:07he's used to, which means he's going to wash out of the league.
- 28:10So it's one of those two. You hope he just doesn't know
- 28:13what's going on yet. With with a guy like Evan Neal,
- 28:16maybe he's ready finally year 4, maybe he finally knows what's
- 28:19going on. Doesn't have to chase speed
- 28:21rushers. It could be enough.
- 28:23You never know. One could only help.
- 28:26Wow. I just think obviously this
- 28:29season is more important for Dabo than it is for Neil.
- 28:32Neil is going to be there for at least another year because the
- 28:36Giants aren't going to be gunning and spending money for a
- 28:39guard when they've invested into the tackle.
- 28:41And Thomas, who honestly needs to have a full season, needs to
- 28:45play at least 14 out of the 17 games for the New York Giants
- 28:48because the Giants gave him a lot of money and they put
- 28:51himself in such a bad position. If this guy can't play a full
- 28:55season of football, so he is in. They've invested into a tackle
- 29:01that can't stay healthy. Yeah, he hasn't practiced yet
- 29:03this preseason. He's still recovering from a
- 29:06list Frank surgery on his foot. They think he's going to be
- 29:09ready for Week 1. They haven't seen him yet.
- 29:11Look, good thing about the Giants is it's not just Evan
- 29:13Neal. They Evan Neal might not play.
- 29:17Marcus Beau spelled MB. OW is the 5th rounder that they
- 29:21got that's been murdering everybody in preseason.
- 29:25Which is preseason garbage could.
- 29:27You no, no, no, no, it's not like that.
- 29:29It's like he's beating guys on his team and they have a really
- 29:33good D line and it looks like this kid might be for real.
- 29:36They may have hit jackpot. Joe Shane might have gotten real
- 29:39lucky. This draft might save everyone's
- 29:42job. They might be good.
- 29:43Thank you to all the fans out there on Spotify and Apple,

- 30:32All right, Speedy, who do we have on tomorrow?
- 30:34All right, so Java got this one at 8:45, we got ESPN.
- 30:37Baseball. I like anal.
- 30:38Kyle Peterson also pitched in the major leagues, so I think
- 30:40five years with the Brewers as well.
- 30:41He'll be joining us at 8:45 and then returning to the show at
- 30:449:45 will be our friend from all 22 fantasy football, Ray Cotto.
- 30:48Possibly his partner Chris Lombardi, too.
- 30:49I haven't heard from him yet, but Ray will definitely.
- 30:51I will tell you this about those guys.
- 30:53They're they do a great job when it comes to fantasy and and
- 30:57making and and making gestures on who you should pick when it
- 31:01comes to fantasy sports. Those guys need to be knocked
- 31:04around a little bit tomorrow and I'm going to give it to him.
- 31:06I'm I'm but I'm going to give it to him.
- 31:07Fair, not in a sexual way job. I know you look.
- 31:10Until they hack their like I'm doing.
- 31:12Until they find a way to hack their system and force Travis
- 31:14Hunter on that 22 team. Well, that's never going to
- 31:16happen. I, I will, I will tell you this
- 31:19on any of my fantasy teams, I will not draft Travis the
- 31:23Gremlin Hunter. I will never do that.
- 31:25And by the way. You have to, you have to tell us
- 31:28like we really thought you would draft that guy.
- 31:31I would never, I never drive, I would never draft a He will be
- 31:35and, and people will be stupid enough to draft him in the first
- 31:383 rounds. I guarantee you some stupid
- 31:41idiot is going to draft him in the top three in the top three
- 31:44rounds and Brian Thomas is the guy to draft on that
- 31:47Jacksonville team. Expect this guy to be the one of
- 31:50the top three wide receivers in the league this year.
- 31:53You can book it, I guarantee it. You can put it on a plate, eat
- 31:56it with some spaghetti and meatballs.
- 31:58I'm telling you right now, Brian Thomas is the guy I had to go
- 32:01after. I'm going after him in the third
- 32:04or if he's there in the third round, he won't be there.
- 32:06In the third he's going late 1st.
- 32:07Early. I know, I know.
- 32:08That's the sad point. He's the top 50.
- 32:10Yeah, I know. He's special, man, That kid is
- 32:12special. He's better than.
- 32:13Did you say top 15? Yeah, yeah, people are saying
- 32:16that. Yeah, he's.
- 32:17Going late 1st, early second round, everything.
- 32:19Else dude, that guy is going to that kid, Mark my words, he's
- 32:23the best. He's going to be the best wide
- 32:24receiver in the league in the next two years.
- 32:26Mark it, book it, Whatever you want to do it, whatever however
- 32:29way you want to slice it in your dice it, that guy is special.
- 32:33I'm telling you, I'm not lying to you and I I'm going to book
- 32:36it. I'll book it.
- 32:38Anyway, is Trevor Lawrence special?
- 32:40Is the bigger. Question.
- 32:40I don't think you care. I don't think it matters.
- 32:42I think he's proven that if Trevor Lawrence is good or not,
- 32:45he's going to put up the numbers.
- 32:46He did it without Trevor Lawrence.
- 32:48He had Matt. What was it?
- 32:50Not Jones. I'm just saying to be the top
- 32:53guy, you need a more competent quarterback.
- 32:56I think, I think if Lawrence stays healthy, Travis Santo will
- 33:00be okay. I think they're going to figure
- 33:02out that he is more of a corner than he is a wide receiver.
- 33:05He'll play both, but that's what he is and I, I don't even know
- 33:10if he's a good corner in this league with all the Starfire
- 33:14power that they have over there. I I'll see I I don't know.
- 33:17I don't know what the he's. Going to have to be like a
- 33:18really good receiver for and they justify his fantasy value
- 33:21because he's going like fourth, fifth round.
- 33:23I don't want for all 22. It might be different because he
- 33:25could play both positions. I don't like him.
- 33:27I think he smells like horse doodoo.
- 33:28That's what I think he. Smells Gremlin Doodoo.
- 33:30Gremlin Doodoo. He smells like Gremlin.
- 33:32What does Gremlin doodoo smell like?
- 33:34Do I don't know what? Does he smell they they can't
- 33:36eat after midnight whatever crap comes out of.
- 33:38Them if you wet them, they they they triple they triple so you
- 33:43got to stay away from Gizmo right was.
- 33:46A good one. There was all the duplicates
- 33:48that caused the problems. Yeah, they shoot out like, you
- 33:50know everything else, if you know what I mean.
- 33:52Job. It comes out with a little spice
- 33:55to it. A lot of spice to it.
- 33:57Anyways, that's it. For got dude wipes.
- 33:59Yeah, that's right. That Speaking of dude wipes.
- 34:02I mean, somebody got to wipe them.
- 34:03As long as she's using dude wipes and taking care of my 2
- 34:06hole I'm good. Pulled it out of my ass.
- 34:08All right, ladies and gentlemen, I hope you pulled it out of your
- 34:10ass. I hope you enjoyed everything.
- 34:12And make sure you don't throw bats on anybody.
- 34:14If you want, ask Robles or ask Roger Clemens.
- 34:16You can do a Clemens at Clemens anytime you want.
- 34:19Anyways, that's it. We'll be back.
- 34:20But tomorrow, actually, yeah, we'll be back tomorrow.
- 34:22Enjoy your night. Enjoy the next, I don't know,
- 34:25couple hours and we'll see you tomorrow.
- 34:27Good night. You're listening to the
- 34:30Worldwide Sports Radio Network.
