- 0:15Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome everybody to episode eighty seven of Cards
- 0:19Speaker 1: and Categories. I'm Mike cool Art from Rasball, joined as
- 0:22Speaker 1: always by my very good friend Jeremy Brewer, also from Rasball.
- 0:27Speaker 1: How's it going, buddy.
- 0:28Speaker 2: I am happy to be here, almost as happy as
- 0:31Speaker 2: Laddi Guerrero to see Spinster Strider fastball on his return
- 0:34Speaker 2: day hit in Homer's.
- 0:36Speaker 1: It was it was a Submit Mixer slider, but I not,
- 0:39Speaker 1: to correct the record touch.
- 0:41Speaker 2: I didn't watch the highlight yet. I didn't see the
- 0:43Speaker 2: highlights yet.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Yes, so we are speaking on April sixteenth, and today
- 0:50Speaker 1: was Spencer Strider day, he returned against the Blue Jays.
- 0:53Speaker 1: And so you said you didn't see very much of it, or.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Not very much as all. A few few things off
- 0:58Speaker 2: the back.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Yeah. I was watching it in the background while I
- 1:01Speaker 1: was working today, and I will say that, like, it
- 1:05Speaker 1: was really great from Spencer Strider overall, considering I mean,
- 1:08Speaker 1: he's less than twelve months out from that internal brace
- 1:11Speaker 1: surgery on his elbow, so it's been such a quick recovery.
- 1:15Speaker 1: But first inning looked really good, but you could tell
- 1:18Speaker 1: the slider's not quite there. It's great, but there were
- 1:21Speaker 1: a few that backed up on him, like the one
- 1:23Speaker 1: that he piped right to Vladimir Guerrero that ended up
- 1:27Speaker 1: into the left field bleachers. So I mean, but if
- 1:31Speaker 1: that's your first start from Spencer Strider after just like
- 1:33Speaker 1: shredding the minor leagues, I think I'm ready to put
- 1:38Speaker 1: him back in like top three, right. I mean, I
- 1:41Speaker 1: don't know about you. I've definitely got schemes still probably
- 1:45Speaker 1: number one. I think I probably still have Wheeler over Strider,
- 1:48Speaker 1: just because like there's that factor of I just said
- 1:52Speaker 1: he's less than twelve months out from internal brace, but
- 1:56Speaker 1: I might be moving Strader in that number three spot
- 1:58Speaker 1: right behind them. He looks like Spencer Strider. What do
- 2:00Speaker 1: you think?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I've probably done a few arguments here
- 2:04Speaker 2: around a Hunter Green or Cole Reagan's or somebody like that,
- 2:07Speaker 2: maybe Crochet, But like I mean, top five, you just
- 2:09Speaker 2: want to throw that out there. He's you know, see
- 2:11Speaker 2: him as one of the top guys coming back. I
- 2:13Speaker 2: have no qualms about that. He He's gonna look a
- 2:16Speaker 2: little rusty to start. The bites not can be quite there.
- 2:18Speaker 2: You know, he's been facing minor league competition, so it's
- 2:21Speaker 2: kind of hard to hone your craft with your that
- 2:23Speaker 2: got strong good like your your stuff just plays unbelievably. Uh,
- 2:28Speaker 2: everybody's striking out against you no matter what you throw.
- 2:31Speaker 2: And yeah, if you're a little rusty and you give
- 2:33Speaker 2: up two runs in five innings to strike up five
- 2:35Speaker 2: guys on the way back with verst a pretty guys
- 2:38Speaker 2: strong good blue Jay's lineup, I'm I'm I'm plugging him
- 2:42Speaker 2: in all day. I pllect him in a few spots
- 2:44Speaker 2: today like I did, no question, he's he's back, plug
- 2:47Speaker 2: him in top of the rotation guy. If you had him, Uh,
- 2:51Speaker 2: the weights was was worth it. Uh. I know we
- 2:54Speaker 2: faded them a little in the off season just because
- 2:56Speaker 2: we didn't know what that comeback is gonna look like.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Things early was crazy, it was crazy high. Like I
- 3:04Speaker 1: still don't even know, like given all this information, if
- 3:07Speaker 1: I would have still, I don't know. It's tough because
- 3:09Speaker 1: like there's so much risk in the profile. Like I
- 3:12Speaker 1: just ranked him number three, but like I couldn't have
- 3:15Speaker 1: drafted him there, you know what I'm saying.
- 3:16Speaker 2: That's I think.
- 3:17Speaker 1: That's what it is. Is, Like, Uh, the draft cost
- 3:21Speaker 1: was just so substantial.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Still, Yeah, it's it's gonna be interesting to see how
- 3:27Speaker 2: much leash they give him. I think they're gonna keep
- 3:30Speaker 2: them a little tight to begin with, and that at
- 3:32Speaker 2: some point they're gonna unleash the beast here and that
- 3:35Speaker 2: that's where I'll give you top three. At that point
- 3:36Speaker 2: I'm saying I'm sticking top five for now.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I also wonder if the it is
- 3:41Speaker 1: not going great for the Braves overall. They're five and
- 3:43Speaker 1: thirteen is we're speaking, there's six games back in the Inn.
- 3:46Speaker 1: At least they're in the cellar. They're behind the Nats
- 3:49Speaker 1: and the Marlins. Ronald Lukunya, I haven't heard much on
- 3:52Speaker 1: him that, Like you do, wonder at some point do
- 3:55Speaker 1: they start kind of looking forward to twenty twenty six.
- 3:59Speaker 1: The the playoff odds for the Braves have taken a
- 4:02Speaker 1: very substantial hit, and given how far back they've fallen
- 4:04Speaker 1: back with the strength of the NL versus the ALE,
- 4:08Speaker 1: if they were in the Ale, I don't think there'd
- 4:10Speaker 1: be much question you'd keep going along. But at some
- 4:12Speaker 1: point I wouldn't be surprised to see Atlanta pull the
- 4:15Speaker 1: plug possibly and maybe kind of put Strider on ice,
- 4:18Speaker 1: put Acuna on ice, trade out some of the arms
- 4:22Speaker 1: or other kind of pieces that they need to retool
- 4:25Speaker 1: at the deadline. But like, it's a weird thing to
- 4:27Speaker 1: be saying on April sixteenth, but it's a pretty far
- 4:32Speaker 1: back to climb for Atlanta right now.
- 4:34Speaker 2: It's gonna be tough. I mean, there's a lot of
- 4:36Speaker 2: talent in that team. That's there's a lot of talent there.
- 4:39Speaker 2: It's just a matter of is it gonna start clicking.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Austin Riley looks good, but other guys aren't quite doing
- 4:44Speaker 2: the same thing.
- 4:45Speaker 1: So, I mean, their outfit it is the disaster right
- 4:47Speaker 1: now too. And the rotation's a little rough and the bullpen,
- 4:50Speaker 1: so like that is a factor that there. The stars
- 4:52Speaker 1: are there, but it got thin fast.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Stars and scrubs strategy and works in fantasy sometimes.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's sure it does.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Having Nick Allen's just starting shortstops not.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Probably the way to go. Yeah, exactly, That's exactly what
- 5:04Speaker 1: I'm talking about. Okay, Well, let's get into what our
- 5:08Speaker 1: topic is going to be previewed a little bit. We're
- 5:10Speaker 1: gonna be talking about stashable minor leaguers here in terms
- 5:14Speaker 1: of I think we're looking at especially like of course
- 5:17Speaker 1: in fifteen teamers a lot of these players will be owned,
- 5:19Speaker 1: but these are guys who are even so valuable and
- 5:22Speaker 1: could be coming up soon. You know that in a
- 5:25Speaker 1: twelve teamer, maybe even a ten teamer, you might be
- 5:27Speaker 1: considering wasting one of your bench botches on them. I mean,
- 5:31Speaker 1: it's not wasting. I guess it's more of investing considering
- 5:34Speaker 1: what you might be able to get out. I mean
- 5:36Speaker 1: it was around this time last year that Paul Skins
- 5:38Speaker 1: came up and kind of really set the league on
- 5:41Speaker 1: fire and really push things through. And you can see
- 5:44Speaker 1: that maybe some for some of these players. I don't
- 5:46Speaker 1: know if I'll go quite as far as saying any
- 5:48Speaker 1: of them will be Paul Schemes, but I think we've
- 5:50Speaker 1: got some guys who could really make a difference in
- 5:53Speaker 1: fantasy leagues. But before we get to that discussion, let's
- 5:56Speaker 1: get into some of the latest and greatest news, and
- 5:59Speaker 1: right off the actually we have two guys who would
- 6:02Speaker 1: have ended up on the list for that discussion later
- 6:05Speaker 1: in the pod, but they were called up today. First
- 6:07Speaker 1: one we're going to discuss here is right hander Logan
- 6:10Speaker 1: Henderson for the Milwaukee Brewers being called up. And overall,
- 6:15Speaker 1: Logan Henderson got good strikeout stuff, but lots of walks.
- 6:19Speaker 1: The Milwaukee rotation is desperate. You know, Quinn Priester, who
- 6:23Speaker 1: they brought over from Boston. Maybe we should have touched
- 6:25Speaker 1: on that a little bit more because he looks retooled
- 6:28Speaker 1: with the Brewers and it looks like they're going to
- 6:30Speaker 1: maximize that profile. Do you think that they could do
- 6:33Speaker 1: something here with Logan Henderson who was a little bit
- 6:36Speaker 1: of a hot name late in spring, but then when
- 6:39Speaker 1: the walks couldn't be controlled, it's when he lost out
- 6:43Speaker 1: in a rotation spot. But now he's up pretty quick
- 6:45Speaker 1: because things are thin to Milwaukee.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he's never really been a guy that
- 6:50Speaker 2: struggled with control that much in the minors, So I'm
- 6:52Speaker 2: not terribly concerned long term with the control. But I
- 6:56Speaker 2: think the Brewers are trying to bring up here bullpen
- 6:58Speaker 2: roll maybe long relief like piggyback type role that you know,
- 7:02Speaker 2: somebody gets pulled early, he can give you know, three
- 7:05Speaker 2: or four innings. I think he's he's definitely intriguing, but
- 7:10Speaker 2: because of the role, I don't think it's anything you
- 7:12Speaker 2: can latch onto immediately. You know, maybe he's the kind
- 7:15Speaker 2: of guy that stuff plays up in the bullpen and
- 7:17Speaker 2: then he gets a chance to lave in the year
- 7:18Speaker 2: late back in the bullpen. Like that's maybe the best
- 7:20Speaker 2: case scenario right now. I just don't think they're gonna
- 7:22Speaker 2: try to give him that run in the rotation. It's
- 7:25Speaker 2: much more of that. You know, you've seen it with guys,
- 7:27Speaker 2: you know, David Price back in the day, Adam Wayne Wright.
- 7:29Speaker 2: So I'm aging myself, but some of those guys that
- 7:32Speaker 2: you bring him up, let him throw gas in the bullpen,
- 7:35Speaker 2: and then you know, as they get their their feet wet,
- 7:38Speaker 2: move him back in the rotation. I feel like that's
- 7:40Speaker 2: the path for Henderson, especially with some of the recent
- 7:42Speaker 2: control problems, and also again he's got a really flyball
- 7:45Speaker 2: centric profile, which scares me a little bit. They're in Milwaukee,
- 7:49Speaker 2: but I think he's definitely a guy to keep an
- 7:51Speaker 2: eye on the role right now. Is gonna probably keep
- 7:54Speaker 2: him on the waiver wire for the most part.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that makes sense. You can also throw
- 7:59Speaker 1: Jack Morrison that list of players like that if you
- 8:01Speaker 1: want to go way back.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Yeah, just keep going back back.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I think I'm a little more hopeful on Henderson's chances
- 8:07Speaker 1: at the rotation between either piggybacking. Like you said, maybe
- 8:11Speaker 1: with Tyler Alexander there, who would be a great one
- 8:14Speaker 1: to two combo in terms of like Alexander opening throwing
- 8:17Speaker 1: two or three innings, and then Henderson comes in and
- 8:20Speaker 1: gets a bulk roll and an easier path to wins
- 8:23Speaker 1: as well. That way, don't have to worry about him
- 8:25Speaker 1: being a five and dive guy. But I have no
- 8:28Speaker 1: faith in I don't even I have no idea who
- 8:32Speaker 1: Chad Patrick is. It just I don't think that there's
- 8:36Speaker 1: any chance that he can keep that rotation spot over Henderson.
- 8:39Speaker 1: I think this is more of a get Henderson's feet
- 8:42Speaker 1: wet for a couple of weeks, let him catch his
- 8:46Speaker 1: breath so that he can control those walks maybe a
- 8:48Speaker 1: little bit, And then I wouldn't be surprised if when
- 8:51Speaker 1: we turn the calendar into June, and certainly by the
- 8:55Speaker 1: All Star break, we're looking at Logan Henderson being a
- 8:57Speaker 1: full piece of the rotation in Milwaukee.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Yeah, to your point, there's there's not much stand in
- 9:02Speaker 2: the way four in this in this rotation behind Freddy Peralta,
- 9:06Speaker 2: it is a missmash at best.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it cut, Yeah, it's ubsurd I mean you
- 9:13Speaker 1: want to talk about somebody else who didn't have very
- 9:15Speaker 1: much competition to be called up. He also would have
- 9:17Speaker 1: been the conversation for Stashbulb minor leaguers. Is Edgar Carro
- 9:21Speaker 1: from the White Sox, who was called up literally like
- 9:25Speaker 1: an hour before we started recording here should be the
- 9:28Speaker 1: full time catcher in Chicago immediately, because that is a
- 9:31Speaker 1: role filled by Matt Thie who has just bounced around
- 9:35Speaker 1: forever and is kind of like the classic backup catcher,
- 9:39Speaker 1: especially given that he's left handed. Edgar Carrow was really
- 9:42Speaker 1: hot when he went down to the minor leagues here
- 9:46Speaker 1: to start the season. Like I said, he was on
- 9:49Speaker 1: the list right before we started potting, and we moved
- 9:52Speaker 1: him up into the news section because it was looking great.
- 9:55Speaker 1: He outplayed Kyle Teal, hitting three thirty three four forty
- 9:58Speaker 1: four four twelve. That is good for a one to
- 10:01Speaker 1: forty six of USC plus only sixty three plate appearances.
- 10:05Speaker 1: But he flashed the tools that we thought he could.
- 10:08Speaker 1: In terms of Edgar Carroll compared to Teal, gonna be
- 10:11Speaker 1: a little bit more batting average forward, teals a little
- 10:14Speaker 1: more power. Are you what depth of league are you
- 10:18Speaker 1: comfortable adding carrow In to be one of your starting catchers.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's probably you know, maybe fifteen teamers. I'm starting
- 10:25Speaker 2: to think about it, depending on what I've got at
- 10:27Speaker 2: the catcher position. Definitely to two catcher leagues. I'm intrigued
- 10:31Speaker 2: in him by especially from that batting average perspective. It's
- 10:35Speaker 2: gonna be respectable. Maybe two fifty two sixty for a
- 10:39Speaker 2: catcher that's actually not too bad. I think I'm much
- 10:41Speaker 2: more interested in an OBP league on base leagues because
- 10:46Speaker 2: he does take a lot of walks. It's always been
- 10:49Speaker 2: one of was calling cards in the minors than basically
- 10:51Speaker 2: a ten percent walk guy or better almost every stop
- 10:54Speaker 2: along the way, And so that's probably where I'm almost
- 10:57Speaker 2: even more intrigued them long term. I don't think he's
- 11:00Speaker 2: got a significant ceiling. He's just kind of a solid
- 11:03Speaker 2: everyday guy. He might grow into little bit more. I'm
- 11:05Speaker 2: still a little bit more excited about Teal and what
- 11:07Speaker 2: he can bring. I do think this is an interesting
- 11:09Speaker 2: discussion to see what this does for Teal. Is this
- 11:13Speaker 2: going to keep him down in the minors for for
- 11:14Speaker 2: a while longer, or Hey, they're just gonna bring up
- 11:17Speaker 2: the best players and let him play, because let's be
- 11:20Speaker 2: honest that the White Socks have got spots. It's not
- 11:22Speaker 2: like they're going to keep anybody down. So I wouldn't
- 11:24Speaker 2: be surprised if we see Teal up here in another
- 11:26Speaker 2: month or two. They're split in time. They're just trying
- 11:29Speaker 2: to figure out who the catcher the future is and
- 11:31Speaker 2: then they got options. But again, fifteen team or two
- 11:35Speaker 2: catcher leagues, I'm definitely intrigued. I'm not rushing to the
- 11:39Speaker 2: wire by any means at this point because he is young.
- 11:42Speaker 2: I think there's gonna be some growing pains, but there's
- 11:47Speaker 2: there's guys out there that I would rather cut bait
- 11:51Speaker 2: and pick up Kiro here.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I think ironically, the guy who's going to be
- 11:55Speaker 1: the loser in Chicago, amar Nevaias, is the player that
- 11:59Speaker 1: Caro rewinds reminds me of. You know, Neva's at his
- 12:02Speaker 1: peak was like a two seventy five hitter with fifteen
- 12:05Speaker 1: ish homers as a starting catcher. I think that's what
- 12:08Speaker 1: Caro's kind of peak looks like.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, and so there's value there, but like
- 12:12Speaker 2: it's that fringe starting catcher and so maybe maybe a
- 12:18Speaker 2: backup as a good way to look at it.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, Well let's move on to somebody on the
- 12:23Speaker 1: other side of the coin who got sent down to
- 12:26Speaker 1: the minor leagues as we are speaking here. I think
- 12:28Speaker 1: it was just earlier today, and that is Matt Shaw, infielder,
- 12:32Speaker 1: third baseman for the Chicago Cubs, option down to Triple
- 12:36Speaker 1: A after just a brutal, brutal start for him. And
- 12:40Speaker 1: I did read an antidote. I'm trying to remember where
- 12:43Speaker 1: it was, if it was either Fangrafts or Baseball Prospectives today,
- 12:47Speaker 1: but essentially saying that, like, I don't have you seen
- 12:51Speaker 1: Matt Shaw bat very much with his crazy his like
- 12:55Speaker 1: back is to the pitcher. It's a very strange stance.
- 12:58Speaker 1: And when you have a strange states like that, I
- 13:01Speaker 1: think it makes it easier to be sent down when
- 13:03Speaker 1: you're struggling, because like they're just not going to give
- 13:06Speaker 1: you a chance to let that goopy station look funny. Yes,
- 13:09Speaker 1: exactly continue uh. And it was a rough start. He
- 13:12Speaker 1: was hitting one seventy two, two ninety four, forty one.
- 13:16Speaker 1: The two forty one slug is I think really what
- 13:18Speaker 1: costed him here because the power just was not showing
- 13:22Speaker 1: up in the big league's four, Matt Shaw strikeout rate
- 13:24Speaker 1: was elevated compared to what we had seen down in
- 13:27Speaker 1: the minor leagues. This is one where I think the
- 13:30Speaker 1: projections might have actually kind of gotten it right. That
- 13:32Speaker 1: they've been incorporating some of the hit data in terms
- 13:35Speaker 1: of hard hit rates and barrels and stuff like that
- 13:38Speaker 1: picked up that Matt Shaw really isn't a batting average
- 13:41Speaker 1: asset the way that I think lots of people had
- 13:43Speaker 1: valued him. So are you shading more towards what the
- 13:48Speaker 1: the actual projections have right now, which are all like
- 13:51Speaker 1: in a two forty ish range with maybe like tennis
- 13:55Speaker 1: homers the rest of the season if he comes up,
- 13:58Speaker 1: do you think that is who Matt Shaw is? Or
- 14:01Speaker 1: do you think that he could come back and return
- 14:03Speaker 1: to maybe more of like the starting third basement level
- 14:06Speaker 1: that people were expecting of him in draft season.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I have a little little higher hopes
- 14:10Speaker 2: than maybe some of the projections there, maybe like a
- 14:12Speaker 2: two sixty hitter with you know, kind of fifteen fifteen
- 14:16Speaker 2: kind of results for over an overall season. So I
- 14:19Speaker 2: still think there's value there. You know, he had some
- 14:23Speaker 2: bad luck, he was he's young, he's twenty three, still adjusting,
- 14:27Speaker 2: So I think that there's plenty left in the tank there.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I'm not writing him off. If anything, this is the
- 14:31Speaker 2: time to acquire in my mind. No, he's not going
- 14:35Speaker 2: to be absolute, you know, locking in All Star by
- 14:38Speaker 2: any means, but I definitely think that there's still value
- 14:41Speaker 2: here long term. It's gonna take some time for him
- 14:44Speaker 2: to build that backup in the in the miners, so
- 14:46Speaker 2: I think that's gonna be what ultimately is kind of
- 14:50Speaker 2: the drawback, because it's not like he lit it on
- 14:52Speaker 2: fire in spring training either. He only hit two oh
- 14:55Speaker 2: eight and you know when made nine games, and so
- 14:57Speaker 2: they want to see more. But he's yep, he's only
- 15:03Speaker 2: really had a handful of games above Double A. So
- 15:05Speaker 2: like for him to get another fifty to sixty games
- 15:08Speaker 2: at Triple A and then get called up you know,
- 15:10Speaker 2: mid season, I think it's probably right. So if you're
- 15:13Speaker 2: in redraft leagues, I'm I'm fine cutting bait. If you're
- 15:17Speaker 2: in dynasty, hold hold for now, and I think he'll
- 15:20Speaker 2: get back.
- 15:21Speaker 1: All right, Well, we're gonna stay in Chicago. It's a
- 15:24Speaker 1: very windy city centric pod here. So far, we've got
- 15:27Speaker 1: another bit of news that we kind of put further
- 15:32Speaker 1: down the list, but we'll get to that. As the
- 15:36Speaker 1: we look like Seue's there, he sooth sayers here as
- 15:39Speaker 1: Justin Steele slated for elbow surgery of some sort. It
- 15:42Speaker 1: hasn't been announced whether it's full Tommy John or if
- 15:46Speaker 1: it will be an internal brace. It will be. If
- 15:48Speaker 1: it is another Tommy John, it would be his second.
- 15:50Speaker 1: So Steele had another Tommy John back in college. I
- 15:53Speaker 1: believe we knew that just based on kind of the
- 15:57Speaker 1: fact pattern. It was kind of especially when that second
- 16:00Speaker 1: opinion news came out last week, it was kind of
- 16:02Speaker 1: the writing was on the wall. But my question here
- 16:05Speaker 1: is any interest in somebody who might be filling his
- 16:08Speaker 1: spot there in Chicago. So Conray fills in admirably against
- 16:13Speaker 1: the Dodgers for Steel on Sunday Night has had a
- 16:17Speaker 1: good k rate and seems to have unlocked something with
- 16:21Speaker 1: the Cubs. We also have Javier Asad coming back, Jordan
- 16:24Speaker 1: Wix is hanging out in Triple A, and Kate Horton
- 16:27Speaker 1: is on the precipice of debuting as well, but is
- 16:30Speaker 1: also rocking like an eight point one walk per nine
- 16:33Speaker 1: right now in Chiple A. But any of those names
- 16:35Speaker 1: interest you to replace Steel.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the first one that comes to mind
- 16:39Speaker 2: is Horton. Just from a pure capability perspective, you know,
- 16:44Speaker 2: I don't think there's anybody that you listed that has
- 16:46Speaker 2: more upside than Horton. I mean, you can't really rock
- 16:50Speaker 2: the nearly nine k walk per nine too long, but
- 16:55Speaker 2: that's really not been who he is. And we're only
- 16:57Speaker 2: talking about seven innings in triple A, but you know,
- 17:01Speaker 2: he's also struck out fifteen for nine, so like it
- 17:03Speaker 2: seems like the stuff is holding up there relatively well.
- 17:06Speaker 2: So I think Horton's the one I'm watching out for.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Wicks maybe has a little potential, But the rest of
- 17:14Speaker 2: the guys here, it looks like they've got some depth,
- 17:17Speaker 2: good pictures being not good fantasy pictures as you know,
- 17:20Speaker 2: kind of a the Jay Jamison tie on, the Colin Ray,
- 17:23Speaker 2: those kind of guys that will provide you some value,
- 17:26Speaker 2: more spot start kind of guys. If if Horton does
- 17:30Speaker 2: get the call, I think he's definitely the guy that
- 17:32Speaker 2: I'd be willing to maybe take a quick flyer on.
- 17:35Speaker 2: You know, the walks they're concerning, But seven innings, I
- 17:39Speaker 2: mean that's what one or two bad innings and you look,
- 17:44Speaker 2: your stats look kind of funny. So I'm willing to
- 17:46Speaker 2: give him the benf of the doubt, but he's the
- 17:48Speaker 2: one that I'm kind of hopeful that this gives them
- 17:50Speaker 2: the opportunity for probably not right now, but not not
- 17:53Speaker 2: too far down the line.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's also fascinating, just kind of like with Milwaukee,
- 17:58Speaker 1: things thinned out quick in that Cub's rotation and they
- 18:02Speaker 1: really didn't have to, Like they have the money to
- 18:04Speaker 1: buy better players than this, and maybe they're expecting more
- 18:07Speaker 1: from Ben Brown, but it's been a rough go for
- 18:10Speaker 1: that rotation in the on the North side of Chicago
- 18:13Speaker 1: so far, all right, but we're gonna stick in the
- 18:16Speaker 1: NL Central for This story has kind of fascinating needed
- 18:21Speaker 1: me over the past couple days because I have no idea,
- 18:24Speaker 1: like what to make of it. I can't tell if
- 18:26Speaker 1: like I should freak out or if it's a total
- 18:29Speaker 1: nothing burger. But we're talking about Brewers closer Trevor McGill,
- 18:33Speaker 1: who on Saturday had an ugly blown loss or blown
- 18:37Speaker 1: save took the loss, and then has there's just been
- 18:42Speaker 1: news about him seeking a second opinion on his knee,
- 18:45Speaker 1: which there was no real announcement of like what the
- 18:48Speaker 1: knee injury specifically was. So we don't know if it's
- 18:51Speaker 1: like a ACL concern or a moniscus or a bone
- 18:54Speaker 1: bruise or no idea what's going on in terms unless
- 18:58Speaker 1: you can find something. I can see you searching, but
- 19:00Speaker 1: I haven't found anything. And on top of it all,
- 19:04Speaker 1: we then got a news report that supposedly mcguil was
- 19:07Speaker 1: available to pitch on Sunday against Arizona even though he's
- 19:11Speaker 1: going to get the second opinion on his knee. I
- 19:14Speaker 1: know in our leagues that we're playing in, like you
- 19:16Speaker 1: saw me snatch up abner Rebay in the Auto New League,
- 19:20Speaker 1: in all the RcLs and in the perts leagues, lots
- 19:23Speaker 1: of people are snatching up abner Rebay. And I had
- 19:27Speaker 1: Joel pie Ams for a little bit even too. Is
- 19:29Speaker 1: it gonna be abner a Rebay time in Milwaukee pretty soon?
- 19:33Speaker 1: Or is this something that doesn't concern you? Or And
- 19:36Speaker 1: on top of it, have you ever seen a story
- 19:39Speaker 1: that has unraveled so strangely like this, especially given today's
- 19:43Speaker 1: media environment.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, this one's really really odd. That's why I'm like,
- 19:46Speaker 2: I'm really having trouble because like nobody, even uh Euribay,
- 19:51Speaker 2: which has a lot of talent, doesn't like overly excite me.
- 19:55Speaker 2: But at the same time, like guy with a solid
- 19:58Speaker 2: job as something as you look at and he was
- 20:01Speaker 2: pretty guest turning good yes last year when he had that.
- 20:04Speaker 2: But again, McGill is exciting in his own right. But
- 20:08Speaker 2: it's not like his stuff has really played down his
- 20:10Speaker 2: velossities slightly down the season. But we're talking like four
- 20:13Speaker 2: or five innings, and it's not like it's down like
- 20:16Speaker 2: five miles an hours, down like a mile an hour,
- 20:20Speaker 2: but it's it's it's a concern to agree that he's
- 20:24Speaker 2: seeking the second opinion that he feels that something's off.
- 20:27Speaker 2: And if you're tentative at all with your knees from
- 20:31Speaker 2: a pitching perspective, you just you're losing the power. You're
- 20:34Speaker 2: losing there. So I'm really confused on this one. I
- 20:38Speaker 2: don't think it. I think the right move is to
- 20:40Speaker 2: handcuff with your eBay and hope nothing happens here. But
- 20:46Speaker 2: we could easily be talking about McGill having knee surgery
- 20:48Speaker 2: tomorrow or playing the rest of the season getting twenty
- 20:51Speaker 2: five saves. I don't know which one. It's gonna be
- 20:55Speaker 2: maybe you've got the crystal ball, but I've got nothing
- 20:57Speaker 2: on this.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I mean, I I think if you're a owner, you
- 21:00Speaker 1: have to handcuff with Reube, like you said that, Like
- 21:03Speaker 1: that is a big component here. But I don't know.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I don't feel great about how this is trending, especially
- 21:10Speaker 1: since McGill was apparently available on Sunday but still hasn't
- 21:14Speaker 1: pitched since as we're speaking here on Wednesday, and so
- 21:17Speaker 1: it doesn't look great when you're kind of putting all
- 21:20Speaker 1: the facts and circumstances together that it does seem like
- 21:23Speaker 1: it's going to be something pretty major here within the
- 21:26Speaker 1: next few kind of days of what is up with
- 21:29Speaker 1: Trevor McGill.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, heck I was availables on it too,
- 21:32Speaker 2: but nobody called to me.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Okay, well, let's stick. This is kind of weirdly all
- 21:41Speaker 1: Central team news. It's all very nitty gritty and doom
- 21:45Speaker 1: and gloom because we're gonna go to Minnesota now where
- 21:48Speaker 1: the injury bug has stricken them again. This team is
- 21:52Speaker 1: absolutely awful. They are seven and twelve. They've barely pulled
- 21:55Speaker 1: ahead of the White Sox in the Al Central and
- 21:57Speaker 1: now they're dealing with injuries in minutes to the likes
- 22:01Speaker 1: of Matt Wallner left last night's game with a hamstring
- 22:06Speaker 1: poll of some sort. I have to imagine he's going
- 22:09Speaker 1: to be destined for the AL soon with the strain.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Carlos Korea left after like swinging and fouling a ball
- 22:17Speaker 1: off and like his wrist was sore, which to me
- 22:20Speaker 1: screams handmate bone. But I think they did an MRI
- 22:23Speaker 1: and they're awaiting the results there. But you can add
- 22:26Speaker 1: that on top of the plantar fascyitis that Carl's Korea
- 22:30Speaker 1: has always been battling and it's been a brutal start
- 22:32Speaker 1: to the season for him. Then we I don't know
- 22:36Speaker 1: if you saw this bit of news, Jose Miranda, he
- 22:39Speaker 1: got optioned down to Triple A, then strained his hand
- 22:42Speaker 1: shopping at Target down in Triple A. So that's a
- 22:45Speaker 1: new one for me. That isn't boting well in the
- 22:49Speaker 1: midst of all this chaos. Actually, I mean, we're gonna
- 22:51Speaker 1: have somebody to talk about in our minor league kind
- 22:53Speaker 1: of portion of who to stash. But brooks Lee has
- 22:57Speaker 1: come in and he actually entered the game last night
- 23:00Speaker 1: for Carlos Korea. Blasted a homer in his stead as
- 23:04Speaker 1: you know, actually he was coming off of his own
- 23:06Speaker 1: injury Brooksley. That is any faith in kind of what
- 23:10Speaker 1: brooks Lee can do in Minnesota, because I've always liked
- 23:13Speaker 1: the profile and the approach. I know it's not exactly
- 23:16Speaker 1: the hardest hit data, but like he puts the ball
- 23:20Speaker 1: in play and has gotten good results.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Yeah, he's definitely a watch for me. I'm not I'm
- 23:26Speaker 2: not running out by any means, especially in that lineup,
- 23:28Speaker 2: but there's just not enough around him to really produce.
- 23:32Speaker 2: And he's he's one of those better real world players
- 23:35Speaker 2: than fantasy players. He's gonna he's a little bit of power,
- 23:38Speaker 2: the slightest bit of speed. He's gonna hit maybe two
- 23:41Speaker 2: forty two fifty. Like There's it's very much replacement level
- 23:45Speaker 2: is what I'm projecting with with Lee. And you know,
- 23:49Speaker 2: if they had more faith in them, they would have
- 23:50Speaker 2: invested more and not use not call him up just
- 23:53Speaker 2: because of injuries things like that. So I'm the tea
- 23:56Speaker 2: leaves for me of like, eh, I'm not too excited here,
- 23:59Speaker 2: but I'll keep keep an eye on it. Maybe I'm
- 24:02Speaker 2: a little too far down on him. It's just I
- 24:04Speaker 2: don't see a big carrying tool that I would waste
- 24:08Speaker 2: a spot on this point.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Okay, fair enough. I mean, let's see how he maybe
- 24:11Speaker 1: compares to this next guy we're gonna talk about, which
- 24:13Speaker 1: is infielder Chase my draft for the Chicago White Sox.
- 24:17Speaker 1: We just alluded to it a little bit ago. He
- 24:19Speaker 1: has received the call and has joined the team. Should
- 24:22Speaker 1: be the every day like I guess, shortstop, but I
- 24:26Speaker 1: mean he's gonna get plenty of time at second base too,
- 24:28Speaker 1: because they've been moving Brooks Baldwin around everywhere on that team,
- 24:33Speaker 1: and it's gonna be I think fascinating to see how
- 24:36Speaker 1: they kind of put the young infielder pieces together, because
- 24:39Speaker 1: that is actually where there's a little bit of fantasy
- 24:42Speaker 1: value on this White Sox team. That these young infielders
- 24:45Speaker 1: could easily put up like twelve to fifteen homers and
- 24:49Speaker 1: stolen bases a piece. And my draft started this season
- 24:53Speaker 1: absolutely scorching hot. Interriple A just like Caro two sixty
- 24:57Speaker 1: seven four fifty six hundred slash line over forty played
- 25:00Speaker 1: appearances with three bombs and two stolen bases. Do you
- 25:04Speaker 1: have more interest here in my draft than you did
- 25:06Speaker 1: in Lee, Yeah, I've got.
- 25:08Speaker 2: A little bit more on my draft here. I think
- 25:10Speaker 2: you call it right, like, he's the kind of guy
- 25:12Speaker 2: that could squeak out like a double double season, like
- 25:15Speaker 2: a ten, ten, fifteen, fifteen look up and he hit
- 25:18Speaker 2: two sixty two seventy and you're just like, well, that
- 25:20Speaker 2: was nice to have in my middle infield, or you know,
- 25:23Speaker 2: kind of to your point, if he has multiposition flexibility,
- 25:27Speaker 2: kind of pin them in in some good matchups and
- 25:29Speaker 2: hopefully get a few, you know, few counting stats. So
- 25:32Speaker 2: a little bit more interested here, a lot more solid
- 25:35Speaker 2: playing time that I think we can expect, and the
- 25:39Speaker 2: counting stats on both sides with the speed have a
- 25:42Speaker 2: little a little bit more intrigue for me. So I'm
- 25:45Speaker 2: not again, I'm not a guy I'm running out to
- 25:46Speaker 2: pick up unless I got a big gaping hole. But
- 25:51Speaker 2: I think I do think there's gonna be a pretty
- 25:53Speaker 2: big drag on the run production side of things. Not
- 25:56Speaker 2: his fault necessary necessarily, but I think that that's to
- 26:00Speaker 2: be a little bit of drag. But hey, if you're
- 26:01Speaker 2: looking for counting stats, I think this is a guy
- 26:03Speaker 2: that's got a little bit get a little bit to
- 26:05Speaker 2: given that category. And not gonna cost you much.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's totally fair and fun. Little tidbit
- 26:10Speaker 1: that Garrett Crochet had a no hitter going on Sunday
- 26:13Speaker 1: against the White Sox, and Chase Mydrath, who is traded
- 26:16Speaker 1: for Crochet, broke up that no hitter. So that's that's
- 26:19Speaker 1: that's a cool little thing karma. Yes, exactly. Okay, let's
- 26:23Speaker 1: get into a little bit of cart news because the
- 26:25Speaker 1: schedule settled a little bit compared to when we talked
- 26:28Speaker 1: last week, that some of those late April releases that
- 26:32Speaker 1: were question marks have been more solidified. I would say
- 26:36Speaker 1: written in pencil as opposed to set in stone or
- 26:39Speaker 1: written in pen But we are speaking on April sixteenth.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Tops Tribute released today, so I don't know if I've
- 26:46Speaker 1: got anything too great to say about it. It's Tops
- 26:48Speaker 1: Tribute looks the same that it's always has. It's got
- 26:51Speaker 1: good patches, same design with the with the big capital
- 26:55Speaker 1: T on there, same kind of faux would on the car,
- 27:00Speaker 1: as well as good autographs.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Good.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I do love the authenticated memorabilia pieces that come in
- 27:06Speaker 1: in Tribute. But the boxes were five hundred and fifty dollars,
- 27:10Speaker 1: which is steep for Tribute. This used to be like
- 27:13Speaker 1: a three hundred two fifty type of box where it
- 27:17Speaker 1: was more premium because you only get what like ten
- 27:20Speaker 1: cards maybe in a Tribute. That's how little I've kind
- 27:24Speaker 1: of looked up the stats of like what this is
- 27:26Speaker 1: because it's just so expensive for twenty twenty five. But
- 27:29Speaker 1: any thoughts on Tribute from your side.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I've always liked Tribute as kind of that mid
- 27:34Speaker 2: level product. It wasn't like it had the high end
- 27:36Speaker 2: look field to a degree, but you wasn't the full
- 27:38Speaker 2: of high end price. But now it's kind of migrated
- 27:40Speaker 2: a little bit more to that high end price, and
- 27:42Speaker 2: so it's a little bit less. I love Tribute for
- 27:45Speaker 2: like the like a year or two aftermarket, because it
- 27:48Speaker 2: does it's one of those sets that does not terribly
- 27:50Speaker 2: hold its value, maybe kind of all uh triple threads
- 27:54Speaker 2: something like that that's, you know, great, great thing to
- 27:58Speaker 2: collector really fun, but for whatever reason, doesn't hold the
- 28:00Speaker 2: value of Flagship or a chrome or a Bowman or
- 28:03Speaker 2: something like that. But there's some really really cool cards,
- 28:05Speaker 2: and so that's something I do like about it. So
- 28:08Speaker 2: I usually try to pick up some cards of my
- 28:10Speaker 2: favorite players a year or two later, when the when
- 28:13Speaker 2: the shine of the five hundred dollars box has worn
- 28:16Speaker 2: off and you're not trying to recoup your investment fifty
- 28:19Speaker 2: dollars a card. So I definitely got, you know, having
- 28:23Speaker 2: me some Palty Young Tribute autos from back in the day.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I was gonna say, I have a lot of
- 28:28Speaker 1: authenticated like White Sox relics from like Tim Anderson and
- 28:31Speaker 1: Jose Bray you and Yes Moni Grand doll that I
- 28:34Speaker 1: got on the cheat from Tribute. Oh yeah, okay. The
- 28:37Speaker 1: other things that kind of got settled in the schedule.
- 28:40Speaker 1: You can check this all out in the show notes
- 28:42Speaker 1: if you're looking for it as long, along with everything
- 28:44Speaker 1: else that we've discussed, So you can find the news
- 28:47Speaker 1: and notes and everything in those show notes. But on
- 28:50Speaker 1: April thirtieth, we have Tops Heritage twenty twenty five coming out,
- 28:55Speaker 1: Tops Chrome Black twenty twenty five, twenty twenty five, Pannin Eats,
- 28:58Speaker 1: Stars and Stripes set for May seventh, twenty twenty four,
- 29:03Speaker 1: Panini Flawless kicked down the road again to May fourteenth,
- 29:08Speaker 1: and we've got Donner's Baseball on the twenty first of May.
- 29:11Speaker 1: June twenty twenty five, top Series two coming out should
- 29:16Speaker 1: be Roki Sasaki loaded to the brim, so it'll be
- 29:20Speaker 1: a fun little kind of run up until June. But
- 29:23Speaker 1: with that, we are going to take a short break
- 29:26Speaker 1: and we'll be coming back to talk about those stashable
- 29:29Speaker 1: minor league prospect backs. Stick around, all right, Welcome back, everybody.
- 29:50Speaker 1: We are going to discuss stashable minor league prospect bats, well,
- 29:55Speaker 1: actually not bats, players in general. So what we're going
- 29:58Speaker 1: to do is go through I think a handful of
- 30:01Speaker 1: players that are likely owned already in like twelve teamers,
- 30:04Speaker 1: certainly in fifteen teamers. These guys are certainly rostered as
- 30:08Speaker 1: people are stashing them away, and then kind of a
- 30:11Speaker 1: list of who maybe the next wave might be. Once,
- 30:14Speaker 1: especially that first wave of players who look to be
- 30:16Speaker 1: on the precipice of making the major leagues do get
- 30:19Speaker 1: that call, we're gonna want to reload those benches, use
- 30:23Speaker 1: a spot on somebody to try to find that next
- 30:26Speaker 1: best thing and not have to worry about putting in
- 30:29Speaker 1: major waiver wire bids for them or be the fastest
- 30:31Speaker 1: finger to pick them up on the free agent pool
- 30:34Speaker 1: when the call up happens. So a lot of like
- 30:39Speaker 1: what we're trying to discuss here. I think is certainly
- 30:41Speaker 1: an art. Like I know we play in leagues between
- 30:43Speaker 1: Autnew or our CBS League together that we've got designated
- 30:48Speaker 1: spots for minor leaguers, especially in the CBS League, Like
- 30:50Speaker 1: there's actually roster spots for it on the Auto New League.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Like you've got to have some prospects coming through because
- 30:58Speaker 1: it's a dynasty system. But what do you do in
- 31:00Speaker 1: leagues where you don't have a designated spot for these
- 31:04Speaker 1: type of minor league players And kind of what is
- 31:07Speaker 1: your give and take and where's your line about like
- 31:11Speaker 1: how good the player could be, how much you want
- 31:14Speaker 1: to waste that roster spot on them, and like just
- 31:17Speaker 1: kind of overall considerations for size of leagues.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean to your point, any league where you
- 31:23Speaker 2: have minor spots or the depth to use it, I
- 31:26Speaker 2: think you absolutely have to use it. Yeah, I got
- 31:28Speaker 2: to carry maybe four or five, like a forty man roster,
- 31:30Speaker 2: four or five guys. And for me, strategically, I'm almost
- 31:35Speaker 2: always aiming towards the upper miners, so you can turn
- 31:39Speaker 2: those over because there's always new guys coming out, and
- 31:41Speaker 2: so if you're always trying to play in the low
- 31:43Speaker 2: miners and you gotta wait two three years for the
- 31:44Speaker 2: guys develop your missing, missing opportunities. But for a remember
- 31:48Speaker 2: over redraft standard league, you know, maybe a twelve teamer,
- 31:52Speaker 2: Like I'm looking out at, like, who's that guy in
- 31:55Speaker 2: the minors that looks like he can absolutely make an impact,
- 31:58Speaker 2: Like if called up, I want to plug him in
- 32:01Speaker 2: day one and I think he can be a true
- 32:03Speaker 2: starter for me. And if I think he's gonna be
- 32:06Speaker 2: called up in the next like month, like that's kind
- 32:08Speaker 2: of the guy I'm looking for. And I know there's
- 32:10Speaker 2: a few guys on our list today that will we'll talk,
- 32:13Speaker 2: but that fall right into that. Those are the kind
- 32:15Speaker 2: of guys and like you kind of look at him
- 32:16Speaker 2: like at this point in the season, I would have
- 32:18Speaker 2: drafted them as a if called up, as a you know,
- 32:23Speaker 2: corner infielder or a you know, mid mid level starter
- 32:26Speaker 2: or something like that. Those are the guys that I'm
- 32:28Speaker 2: looking for. Because you're you're looking you don't want to
- 32:30Speaker 2: the guy that might get called up and play at
- 32:32Speaker 2: the end of the rotation or you know the edge
- 32:35Speaker 2: of the of your bench, and now you're wasting a
- 32:37Speaker 2: roster spot trying to figure out if there's gonna be
- 32:39Speaker 2: something you miss somebody else. So definitely looking for those
- 32:43Speaker 2: guys that are coming up in the really near future,
- 32:45Speaker 2: and it's they've got to be hot, and they've got
- 32:47Speaker 2: to be look like they're gonna make a big, big impact.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Don't give me the guy that's just kind of scuffing along.
- 32:52Speaker 2: If I'm wrong on that one, I'm fine with it.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Move on, pick somebody else.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, And I think another factor I'm looking for
- 32:58Speaker 1: it I agree with of all those points are like
- 33:01Speaker 1: players who could play their way onto a roster as
- 33:04Speaker 1: opposed to needing an injury or other circumstance to be
- 33:08Speaker 1: able to enter the actual roster. That like you are
- 33:11Speaker 1: looking at. You want somebody who has that special level
- 33:15Speaker 1: of talent, So generally you are looking at stars here.
- 33:18Speaker 1: But it is it's a big burden sometimes to be
- 33:21Speaker 1: able to carry a player like this on your bench
- 33:23Speaker 1: in a league where you don't have a designate spot
- 33:25Speaker 1: for it, because you're just burning that reserve spot. So
- 33:29Speaker 1: it's also like you've got to have the right team
- 33:31Speaker 1: construction to be able to do it. You've got to
- 33:33Speaker 1: make sure you've got enough depth covered elsewhere to make
- 33:36Speaker 1: sure that you actually have the space to be able
- 33:39Speaker 1: to hold these players. You don't want to end up
- 33:41Speaker 1: in a situation where you've run out of players and
- 33:44Speaker 1: you've got injuries kind of ravaging your reserves and you've
- 33:48Speaker 1: got to drop one of these players that needs to
- 33:51Speaker 1: be owned and release them back into the pool for
- 33:54Speaker 1: your league, or try to shop them because you're not
- 33:56Speaker 1: going to get full value back and people will short
- 33:59Speaker 1: change you when they see that. And like there is
- 34:03Speaker 1: a consideration of, like, sometimes I do trade these guys
- 34:06Speaker 1: when they get called up, because that is sometimes when
- 34:08Speaker 1: their value peaks. But you're also kind of anticipating that
- 34:13Speaker 1: if you want to burn that roster spot on them,
- 34:16Speaker 1: you believe in them too. So it's a hard kind
- 34:18Speaker 1: of push and pull in terms of do I want
- 34:21Speaker 1: to cash this chip in or do I want to
- 34:23Speaker 1: keep riding this train because I think the train's going
- 34:26Speaker 1: to be really good.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you're absolute right. I'm in a league right now
- 34:29Speaker 2: where we have one minor spot and I'm actually caring
- 34:32Speaker 2: two guys because I look at that and like, these
- 34:35Speaker 2: are two guys that I think in the next two
- 34:37Speaker 2: to three weeks are they're both on our list, They're
- 34:39Speaker 2: gonna be called up, They're gonna make an impact, and
- 34:42Speaker 2: like I will be happy to have them. Now, I
- 34:44Speaker 2: also think I cut Cam Smith on that team. So like,
- 34:47Speaker 2: you can't be wrong. That's a very welcome room. But
- 34:49Speaker 2: you have to be willing to be wrong because the
- 34:53Speaker 2: payoff is also quite handsome if you're right.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Yeah, and you got to do You do have to
- 34:58Speaker 1: know when you can cut bait two. The same thing
- 35:00Speaker 1: with kind of like Matt Shaw being optioned, where like
- 35:03Speaker 1: if the player isn't showing it in the big leagues,
- 35:05Speaker 1: because especially these types of players like it clicks when
- 35:09Speaker 1: it clicks, you know what I mean, and so like
- 35:11Speaker 1: it doesn't, they don't get a ton of time to
- 35:14Speaker 1: kind of figure it out. Usually, and especially when it
- 35:16Speaker 1: is a situation where the spot hasn't been opened up
- 35:19Speaker 1: by an injury or other circumstance where if they played
- 35:23Speaker 1: their way onto the roster, they get their few weeks
- 35:26Speaker 1: and teams, especially in the middle of pennant races, will
- 35:30Speaker 1: send them back down to triple A without too much hesitation.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Like I said, Shaw is a great example of that.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Yep.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Absolutely, Okay, Well let's get into the discussion of the
- 35:39Speaker 1: specific players. So we're going to first start off with
- 35:41Speaker 1: a handful of guys who are likely already owned. But
- 35:44Speaker 1: I mean, certainly, I think, especially these first two we're
- 35:48Speaker 1: going to talk about, I think they're ten team pickups
- 35:50Speaker 1: right now too, even in reserves, considering how fantastic they've been,
- 35:55Speaker 1: and honestly they haven't even been. I can't even suggest
- 35:58Speaker 1: them for like consideration in my waiver Wire column because
- 36:01Speaker 1: their season roster percentage on CBS has already warranted that
- 36:07Speaker 1: they're probably not available in any twelve teamers, and honestly
- 36:11Speaker 1: in lots of ten teamers. But I figure it did
- 36:13Speaker 1: still be fun to talk about outfielder Roman Anthony from
- 36:16Speaker 1: the Boston Red Sox and first baseman Nick Kurtz from
- 36:19Speaker 1: the Sacramento Athletics. So both of them also hot out
- 36:24Speaker 1: the gate. They had great springs, and Roman Anthony right
- 36:28Speaker 1: now slashing two eighty three four five hundred at Triple
- 36:32Speaker 1: A that over fifty nine plate appearances is a one
- 36:34Speaker 1: sixty three WRC plus has been absolutely stellar at the plate,
- 36:39Speaker 1: twenty five percent strikeout rate, twenty two percent walk rate. Really,
- 36:43Speaker 1: he's pretty much like a number one prospect in most locations,
- 36:48Speaker 1: and so he's playing like it has not shown any
- 36:51Speaker 1: flaws there. Nick Kurtz, who was just drafted at the
- 36:53Speaker 1: number four pick last year, slashing three forty four, three
- 36:57Speaker 1: eighty six, seven sixty six in seventy one played appearances
- 37:02Speaker 1: at triple a twenty three percent strikeout rate, which that's
- 37:05Speaker 1: crazy coming off, but just like straight to college with
- 37:09Speaker 1: a roughly seven percent walk rate. I brought them and
- 37:14Speaker 1: paired them together because I'm just gonna ask your point blank,
- 37:16Speaker 1: put your feet to the fire. You had one roster spot.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Could roster either Roman Anthony or Nick Kurtz. Who is
- 37:22Speaker 1: it right now?
- 37:24Speaker 2: I told you had a league. I've got one guy
- 37:26Speaker 2: that I'm using him a bench spot on and it's
- 37:28Speaker 2: Nick Kurtz. I think, you know, we talked about a
- 37:32Speaker 2: little bit with Tyler Soderstrom and kind of feels like
- 37:35Speaker 2: the Athletics have kind of figured this thing out with
- 37:38Speaker 2: like these power bats that have a little bit of
- 37:41Speaker 2: like a big swing, potential swing and this kind of thing,
- 37:45Speaker 2: and like he just looks like he is tailor made
- 37:47Speaker 2: for the way that their player development approach works, and
- 37:50Speaker 2: he just looks mature beyond his ears, like he'd like
- 37:53Speaker 2: even watch him, he doesn't look like he's trying to
- 37:55Speaker 2: swing that hard or anything, and it's just like the
- 37:57Speaker 2: ball is just flying off the bat. So he he
- 38:00Speaker 2: seems ready. He is hot, and like when to your point,
- 38:04Speaker 2: when he gets called up, he is playing like we've
- 38:07Speaker 2: seen Brent Rooker now in the outfield in a few
- 38:09Speaker 2: games recently instead of playing d H. There's a little
- 38:11Speaker 2: scuttle about Tyler Schilders from playing third base. Like wow,
- 38:15Speaker 2: first of all, that sounds scary for his breakout, but like,
- 38:19Speaker 2: clearly they are preparing for Kurtz to be up, and
- 38:22Speaker 2: I mean the week. I could be wrong, but it
- 38:25Speaker 2: feels like it is imminent. And I think the he
- 38:29Speaker 2: is gonna of those two. I think he hits the
- 38:32Speaker 2: ground running faster than remote Anthony. I think Anthony's got
- 38:36Speaker 2: a ton of potential and he's probably got a wider
- 38:38Speaker 2: array of skill set that can impact the team. But
- 38:42Speaker 2: I don't think that he I think he's gonna have
- 38:45Speaker 2: a longer development period. He is a little bit younger,
- 38:48Speaker 2: He wasn't as high of a draft pick like I
- 38:51Speaker 2: think that. You know, he didn't perform as amazingly in spring.
- 38:56Speaker 2: You know, he did have a little bit struggles grand
- 38:58Speaker 2: and we said that about Christian Campbell, so could be
- 39:01Speaker 2: wrong there, but I have Anthony just to tick low
- 39:05Speaker 2: Kurtz at this point in time for this season.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I'm on board with you here, where
- 39:11Speaker 1: Like if you had just asked me, I think even
- 39:15Speaker 1: before the season just started, even all things considering, probably
- 39:19Speaker 1: would have been Roman Anthony. But now that we see
- 39:21Speaker 1: the way that that park plays in Sacramento and the
- 39:24Speaker 1: right field porch is so easy to get to for
- 39:28Speaker 1: Nick Kurtz, that like the ceiling is absolutely absurd. I
- 39:34Speaker 1: don't know if I've actually got any great knocks to
- 39:37Speaker 1: bring up the way that I'm surprised you even found
- 39:39Speaker 1: some for Roman Anthony that like everything looks like all
- 39:43Speaker 1: systems go. Great ballpark for him as well, too, left
- 39:46Speaker 1: handed bat that can just like rip it down the
- 39:49Speaker 1: line in Fenway. It's just that I think Nick Kurtz,
- 39:53Speaker 1: like when you put him in that ballpark, you're looking
- 39:56Speaker 1: at like Mark McGuire levels of production, where Roman Anthony
- 40:00Speaker 1: is if he had a little more speed, Like that's
- 40:02Speaker 1: the kind of the factor is that, like the power
- 40:05Speaker 1: the home run potential for Kurtz is just so otherworldly
- 40:10Speaker 1: as opposed to Roman Anthony, is kind of like Kyle
- 40:13Speaker 1: Tucker without the speed and.
- 40:15Speaker 2: It was like a Mookie Bats something like that. And yeah,
- 40:18Speaker 2: but Anthony, like he's not been the most efficient bass
- 40:21Speaker 2: stealer either. He's fast, but he's not a very bastealer.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Last year he was caught seven times when he sold
- 40:27Speaker 2: twenty one bases, and that's kind of been his kind
- 40:29Speaker 2: of metric throughout, you know, It's kind of he's been
- 40:31Speaker 2: like a three to one kind of guy, which is
- 40:33Speaker 2: it's just decent, but like he's not terribly effective there.
- 40:37Speaker 2: So he's one of the guys that's not gonna have
- 40:39Speaker 2: like a green light. He's gonna have like an opportunistic light.
- 40:43Speaker 2: So yeah, there's just I don't want to call him
- 40:44Speaker 2: red flags to your point, like they're they're nitpicking things,
- 40:47Speaker 2: but it's it's too much of a good thing, and I'll.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Take too much of Bet Kurts. Yeah, yeah, with Kurts,
- 40:54Speaker 1: you could see forty to fifty homers pretty easily in
- 40:57Speaker 1: that ballpark, and Sacramento on a full season basis, Anthony
- 41:00Speaker 1: is like a twenty to twenty five home run hitter
- 41:03Speaker 1: better average, but like it's just it's, yeah, something really
- 41:08Speaker 1: really special. I think in Kurts, So let's move on
- 41:12Speaker 1: to another dude who's likely owned and probably I helped
- 41:16Speaker 1: beat that drum a little bit this weekend with my
- 41:18Speaker 1: waiver wire piece. I fell for the football from Bob
- 41:23Speaker 1: Nightingale Junior. Bobby Nightingale Junior, who kept saying that Zebbie
- 41:26Speaker 1: Matthews was first in a debut on Friday for Pablo Lopez,
- 41:30Speaker 1: who hit the il with a hamstring, then said that
- 41:33Speaker 1: the Twins might go to a six man rotation and
- 41:36Speaker 1: that Zebbi would be called up on Monday. Neither happened.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Aaron Gleeman over wrote him, I should have never chested
- 41:43Speaker 1: a Nightingale. But either way, like, because the Twins are
- 41:47Speaker 1: on dire straits, they need to get Zebby up pretty soon.
- 41:50Speaker 1: I think because he has been absolutely like lights out
- 41:54Speaker 1: in Triple A. He does not belong down there anymore.
- 41:56Speaker 1: He belongs in the major leagues and he's on the
- 41:59Speaker 1: forty man roster. It's not a really hard move to make.
- 42:02Speaker 1: They just kind of need to just put him in
- 42:05Speaker 1: the rotation and I think let him ride. It's just
- 42:08Speaker 1: incredible that they are letting themselves sink further and further
- 42:12Speaker 1: down the al Central while they're wasting Zebie Matthews' bullets
- 42:15Speaker 1: down at Triple A. Do you think that ZEBI still
- 42:18Speaker 1: like comes up pretty soon. I know you've liked his
- 42:21Speaker 1: profile for a long time, but really what stands out
- 42:23Speaker 1: to maybe that has kicked him to the next level
- 42:25Speaker 1: here in twenty twenty five.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he gets called a pretty gust turn soon.
- 42:30Speaker 2: He doesn't have anything less left to prove in the miners.
- 42:34Speaker 2: If anything, I think he's one of those guys that
- 42:37Speaker 2: he's he's gonna have to learn and grow at the
- 42:40Speaker 2: major league level. He has amazing control, he keeps the
- 42:43Speaker 2: ball on the ground. I mean his walk rate throughout
- 42:48Speaker 2: the miners has been basically one per nine, Like it's
- 42:51Speaker 2: just unbelievable. We'll still strikeing out ten or eleven guys
- 42:54Speaker 2: per nine, Like that's that's just you know, Shane Bieber
- 42:57Speaker 2: level kind of production at his his peak, and yeah,
- 43:00Speaker 2: absolutely love it. He has a five pitch mix, and
- 43:03Speaker 2: I think that's maybe part of his downfall right now
- 43:06Speaker 2: is when he gets in the majors, he's still trying
- 43:07Speaker 2: to figure out what to do because I think that
- 43:10Speaker 2: control and the power he has, I mean, he's he's
- 43:13Speaker 2: throwing them mid nineties. He's a big guy. He's he's
- 43:15Speaker 2: like Bailey Over. It's a perfect, you know, kind of
- 43:18Speaker 2: match there on the Twins. Like as far as a
- 43:19Speaker 2: big throwing guy, he's six five two twenty five. He's
- 43:22Speaker 2: a big thrower. And I think he's got behind the
- 43:25Speaker 2: miners with that control, with being able to play on
- 43:28Speaker 2: the fringes, and then he gets with the majors. Guys
- 43:30Speaker 2: are more patient, They're able to kind of spin on
- 43:32Speaker 2: those pitches and pick something else out. So I think
- 43:35Speaker 2: he's gonna he's gonna have a I don't a bumpy ride,
- 43:37Speaker 2: but he's gonna have to adjust a little bit more
- 43:40Speaker 2: than some other guys that have just nasty, nasty stuff.
- 43:42Speaker 2: He has good stuff, but the great control, and so
- 43:46Speaker 2: I'm excited for him. I think he's still gonna be great.
- 43:49Speaker 2: I think he needs to be in the majors to
- 43:51Speaker 2: learn a few things here and there, and uh, there's
- 43:54Speaker 2: no reason he shouldn't be in the rotation of the.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Rest of the year. Yeah, Honestly, I think the comp
- 43:58Speaker 1: that I like sexually better than Over, it's Garrett Cole.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Like it's it looks like Garrett Cole when you kind
- 44:04Speaker 1: of put all the pieces together in terms of pitch mix,
- 44:07Speaker 1: especially now that he's got those couple extra ticks in
- 44:09Speaker 1: his fastball. Cole when he was you know, young, had
- 44:13Speaker 1: that control the way Zebbie Matthews does that like you
- 44:16Speaker 1: see a lot of it, and so it's and then
- 44:19Speaker 1: you can see like another kind of prime for Zebbie
- 44:21Speaker 1: Matthews too, you know when Cole did find that next gear. Yeah,
- 44:25Speaker 1: maybe stuff, that's why he was.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Zebbie is like he's gonna get up and he's gonna
- 44:28Speaker 2: be useful and then he's gonna figure out how to
- 44:31Speaker 2: pitch in the major league. Uble he's be really, really useful.
- 44:34Speaker 2: I think there'll be like a two stepper for him.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Yes, so yeah, certainly I would be stashing him. Probably
- 44:39Speaker 1: not ten teamers, I think twelve teamers certainly. Okay, let's
- 44:43Speaker 1: stick on the pitching rubber with the next guy, Bubba
- 44:47Speaker 1: Chandler from the Pittsburgh Pirates, who has also been lights
- 44:51Speaker 1: out to start the season, coming off of a great
- 44:53Speaker 1: spring as well, and maybe not great swing. I take
- 44:56Speaker 1: that back. I thought it was better than that. Maybe
- 44:59Speaker 1: just like one of the starts.
- 45:00Speaker 2: He had, he had a really good spring in minor camp,
- 45:03Speaker 2: he only had two innings at the major league level.
- 45:07Speaker 2: He he dominated in the minor camp.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Okay, that makes a little that makes me feel a
- 45:12Speaker 1: little bit better. But it's looked great in tripa A
- 45:14Speaker 1: for Bubba Chandler as he's put up a one sixty
- 45:17Speaker 1: nine ear RA over his first three starts of ten
- 45:20Speaker 1: and two thirds. Great, great strikeout rate over fifteen k
- 45:24Speaker 1: per nine. I feel like this dude's coming up immediately
- 45:28Speaker 1: after the Super Ted two deadline, right, yeah, I.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Know, no question. When I was just talking about, you know,
- 45:33Speaker 2: a guy like Zebbi, you might need a two step
- 45:35Speaker 2: because his stuff isn't like nasty. It's it's good, but
- 45:38Speaker 2: it's not nasty. Bubba stuff's nasty like. He's the kind
- 45:41Speaker 2: of guy I think can come up there and pull
- 45:43Speaker 2: a kind of Paul Skiens type of type of thing
- 45:45Speaker 2: where he he doesn't miss a beat. He just goes
- 45:47Speaker 2: up there because he's just got the pitch ability. And
- 45:50Speaker 2: I think Bubba's of those two guys I think is
- 45:52Speaker 2: the one that excites me more the second he gets
- 45:54Speaker 2: called up. I'm not too scared of plugging him in anywhere.
- 45:57Speaker 2: Maybe not Colorado, but yeah, yeah, so I think again,
- 46:03Speaker 2: twelve teamer, would you put win those reserve spots for
- 46:05Speaker 2: Bubba Chandler? Yeah, I told you earlier. The two guys,
- 46:08Speaker 2: Bubby Chandler's other one I have with Kurtz and Chandler,
- 46:10Speaker 2: I have kind of in the wings on a team
- 46:12Speaker 2: right now where I've got a little flexibility that I
- 46:14Speaker 2: can play with because I think those two guys could
- 46:17Speaker 2: absolutely plug and play the rest of the season when
- 46:20Speaker 2: they get the call. So and I don't think I
- 46:23Speaker 2: would be shucked if we come back here in three
- 46:25Speaker 2: weeks and we're talking about both those guys still being
- 46:27Speaker 2: in the minors.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Yeah. And I think in a ten teamer, the closer
- 46:32Speaker 1: and closer that we get to that Super two deadline,
- 46:36Speaker 1: which is where like you get the extra year for arbitration,
- 46:40Speaker 1: it should be like late May, early June, should be
- 46:43Speaker 1: like that first week of June. Just kind of like
- 46:45Speaker 1: keep your eye on the news. But as it approaches.
- 46:48Speaker 1: In a ten teamer, I think you can do the
- 46:49Speaker 1: same thing that Chandler is so significant of an arm,
- 46:52Speaker 1: Like you're talking even in a ten teamer, that's going
- 46:55Speaker 1: to be a very valuable pitcher. Okay, well, let's get
- 46:59Speaker 1: into a hitter to round out the likely owned group,
- 47:03Speaker 1: because I think it's started to pick up a little
- 47:05Speaker 1: more momentum, especially given that the Kansas City Royals have
- 47:09Speaker 1: no outfield offense what to speak of. M J. Melendez
- 47:14Speaker 1: looks Toast, Hunter Renfro looks toast. Kyle isbel is just
- 47:18Speaker 1: kind of hanging out and it looks like they need
- 47:21Speaker 1: Jack Tani there in Kansas City. Jack kagleon their first
- 47:24Speaker 1: round pick from last year out of Florida. He's been
- 47:27Speaker 1: pretty solid down at double A so far with a
- 47:30Speaker 1: two sixty eight three forty seven, five thirty seven slash line.
- 47:34Speaker 1: The caves have been good, which is what I like
- 47:36Speaker 1: to see. Twenty two percent, twelve percent walk rate, three homers.
- 47:40Speaker 1: This is all over forty nine play appearances. I think
- 47:43Speaker 1: this is one where Kansas City pulls the trigger soon,
- 47:46Speaker 1: just out of desperation, because they are battling right in
- 47:51Speaker 1: the middle of that al Central. It's right there for them,
- 47:54Speaker 1: and all they need is an outfielder or two to
- 47:56Speaker 1: be able to like provide a little boosted offense. Do
- 48:00Speaker 1: you think Jack Toni comes up soon in Kansas City.
- 48:03Speaker 2: I'm really torn on this one because I think from
- 48:05Speaker 2: a talent perspective, maturity, perspective. You know, he's shown us
- 48:09Speaker 2: a lot more than we we thought he would. He
- 48:12Speaker 2: did not have like we thought strikes were gonna be
- 48:15Speaker 2: a big problem for him. It seemed to be that way.
- 48:18Speaker 2: We thought he's gonna be this, like I gotta be
- 48:19Speaker 2: a two way player, and he's just like no, I'm
- 48:21Speaker 2: just I'm leaning it like he's done everything we want
- 48:24Speaker 2: to say. The only holdback I have with Cacion is
- 48:29Speaker 2: I don't think you want to see him in the outfield,
- 48:32Speaker 2: and not because I don't think he's athletic enough, but
- 48:33Speaker 2: I feel like the Royals have done this you mentioned
- 48:36Speaker 2: Melendas before, like they're trying to put get these guys
- 48:39Speaker 2: up and put him out of a position. Then it
- 48:40Speaker 2: kind of stunts their growth. And so I would be
- 48:43Speaker 2: much more intrigued by him filling the DH roll where
- 48:47Speaker 2: we kind of got India playing some of that right now,
- 48:50Speaker 2: and I think that's probably his best path. But because
- 48:53Speaker 2: of that, I think that it's gonna be a little
- 48:56Speaker 2: bit longer slog for him, So I think that's super
- 48:59Speaker 2: too deadline or maybe a little after so you're talking
- 49:01Speaker 2: late June or something like that. He's just one step away.
- 49:04Speaker 2: But I think the talent's there, the clamoring's going to
- 49:07Speaker 2: be there, But I think that they're gonna slow play
- 49:09Speaker 2: it just a little bit because they don't want to
- 49:11Speaker 2: put him out of a position so young, so early,
- 49:13Speaker 2: with so much potential. So really like him, really interesting
- 49:17Speaker 2: in him. But I think he's the guy that you
- 49:20Speaker 2: might be hearing about for like two months and then
- 49:23Speaker 2: he finally gets called up because there's an injury or
- 49:26Speaker 2: something like that where they are able to put him.
- 49:30Speaker 2: You know, then Pascuentino love the guy, not the model
- 49:33Speaker 2: of health. So you know, it wouldn't surprise me that,
- 49:37Speaker 2: you know, we're talking late late June, early July, that
- 49:40Speaker 2: Jock's getting getting a chance.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think that's all fair. I think what
- 49:45Speaker 1: I'm hearing from you then is fifteen teams. Definitely, he's
- 49:48Speaker 1: got to be in reserves. Twelves maybe, yeah, twelves.
- 49:51Speaker 2: I think it's like the next round. Like I think,
- 49:54Speaker 2: after this this round of the Kurts and Bubba's and
- 49:57Speaker 2: Zebbi's get called up, then I think Jack's right in. Yeah. Again,
- 50:02Speaker 2: there's's we've talked about five guys. Yeah, there's not that
- 50:05Speaker 2: many to go around. So I think he's worth having
- 50:08Speaker 2: on that horizon. But don't kill yourself trying to trying
- 50:12Speaker 2: a ROSTERIM don't put yourself in a bind at this point.
- 50:14Speaker 1: Yeah, And I also kind of like him, where like
- 50:17Speaker 1: sometimes this happens to me in leagues where you just
- 50:19Speaker 1: kind of like have a reserve spot and there's not
- 50:22Speaker 1: really any great use for it. And that's when it's
- 50:25Speaker 1: not a bad idea to like dedicate that to somebody
- 50:27Speaker 1: like kagle On because then you can kind of be
- 50:30Speaker 1: in there early. But certainly, Yeah, I'm watching him a
- 50:33Speaker 1: little bit more, maybe in the next in the next
- 50:36Speaker 1: couple of weeks, Like you said, after the first guys
- 50:40Speaker 1: come up and Anthony and Kurtz and the Royals finally
- 50:43Speaker 1: realize that they can win this division if they just
- 50:46Speaker 1: weren't getting total zeros out of like three lineup spots,
- 50:49Speaker 1: it's absurd. Okay, Well, let's stay man, we are just
- 50:54Speaker 1: pounding the al Central today, because let's get into a
- 50:58Speaker 1: couple right off the bat. Who will be in I
- 51:01Speaker 1: think the next big things in terms of like you know,
- 51:05Speaker 1: these are players who I think probably will debut at
- 51:08Speaker 1: some point this year, but are more of like a
- 51:12Speaker 1: Alstar break and after or like just kind of need
- 51:15Speaker 1: to show it a little bit more. In the minor leagues,
- 51:17Speaker 1: there's kind of a little bit I think on each
- 51:19Speaker 1: player where after you get that first wave of those
- 51:22Speaker 1: five players we just talked about, these would be kind
- 51:24Speaker 1: of the next guys that I'm looking at rostering to
- 51:27Speaker 1: be able to dedicate a bench spot to and and
- 51:30Speaker 1: kind of shuffle them away for the next wave of promotion.
- 51:34Speaker 1: So more of watchless guys now. But I think in
- 51:37Speaker 1: a few weeks time, we're talking right what we're doing
- 51:41Speaker 1: right now with Anthony and Kurtz, because like they could
- 51:43Speaker 1: come up and make some pretty significant differences. So I
- 51:46Speaker 1: just alluded to it with the Al Central we're gonna
- 51:49Speaker 1: stick there. First guy we have is Detroit Tiger's third baseman,
- 51:52Speaker 1: Jace Young, who you know struggled last year when he
- 51:55Speaker 1: did make that MLB debut. Honestly, it wasn't even that
- 51:59Speaker 1: much of a struggle. One O two WRC plus over
- 52:01Speaker 1: ninety four plate appearances but no homers, So it's stung
- 52:04Speaker 1: a little bit. From a fantasy side, has looked fantastic
- 52:08Speaker 1: to begin the year in triple A, slashing two fifty
- 52:11Speaker 1: four eighteen five nineteen, hit three bombs. That's a one
- 52:14Speaker 1: fifty nine WRC plus. What I like here for Young too,
- 52:18Speaker 1: is there's a pretty decent pathway to playing time in
- 52:21Speaker 1: Detroit right now that he can't take Tourtusen spot, unfortunately,
- 52:26Speaker 1: because he looks like the all star right now on
- 52:28Speaker 1: the Tigers. But slowly but surely, if you kind of
- 52:33Speaker 1: have been paying any attention to the Tigers, Hobby Bias
- 52:36Speaker 1: is kind of going through a dead cat bounce. And like,
- 52:39Speaker 1: if Hobby Bias can put up an eighty five to
- 52:41Speaker 1: ninety WRC plus with his glove, he's gonna play every
- 52:45Speaker 1: day at shortstop, and they're gonna move on from Tray Sweeney,
- 52:48Speaker 1: send Sweeney back down to the miners and try to
- 52:50Speaker 1: ride Young's bat. I think, so, what do you think
- 52:53Speaker 1: that twenty twenty five could hold for Jayce Young?
- 52:57Speaker 2: Yeah? I think you know, he's already and so there's
- 53:01Speaker 2: nothing left to do in the miners. He's in a
- 53:04Speaker 2: second season down there. You know, last year he hit
- 53:06Speaker 2: twofty seven, hit fourteen bombs in ninety one games. You know,
- 53:10Speaker 2: he has been struggling with strikeouts a little bit this
- 53:14Speaker 2: this year, but he's also being a little bit more
- 53:16Speaker 2: patient to plate and he's got a four eighteen opp
- 53:19Speaker 2: so I think he's definitely got sneaky appeal for kind
- 53:24Speaker 2: of a guy at the end of your roster. You know,
- 53:27Speaker 2: he might have multi position eligibility, just to kind of
- 53:30Speaker 2: depending where he gets up. Is he gonna be third base?
- 53:32Speaker 2: Is he gonna end up getting more rung His second
- 53:35Speaker 2: Colt Keith hasn't been all too exciting this year either,
- 53:38Speaker 2: so I think there's definitely potential. But I've got him
- 53:41Speaker 2: kind of on the watch list if he gets called
- 53:46Speaker 2: up today, Am I jumping? Probably not, But I'm watching
- 53:50Speaker 2: very very closely because I think, you know, he's got
- 53:52Speaker 2: a good blood line and he's done some pretty good
- 53:55Speaker 2: things in the miners. It's just is it gonna stick
- 53:58Speaker 2: out enough? Because he's not gonna be a hig average guy.
- 54:00Speaker 2: He's probably gonna be a two thirty two forty guy,
- 54:03Speaker 2: and so is the questions is he gonna have a
- 54:04Speaker 2: pot enough pop to make that worth it? Is he
- 54:06Speaker 2: going to be able to get to twenty five thirty homers?
- 54:09Speaker 2: It might be a stretch. I think he's probably more
- 54:10Speaker 2: of a twenty twenty five guy hitting two thirty two
- 54:13Speaker 2: forty and so useful. But U is, how quickly is
- 54:18Speaker 2: that going to come?
- 54:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and it feels a lot like Cold Keith too.
- 54:22Speaker 1: It's like I do also like part of it with
- 54:25Speaker 1: Colt Keith. What he's going through right now is just
- 54:29Speaker 1: a little bit of early season Detroit weather. So that's
- 54:32Speaker 1: something to keep in mind as the Tigers season progresses.
- 54:35Speaker 1: That like, if Keith is still available in some of
- 54:39Speaker 1: your leagues, he might be worth picking up as you know,
- 54:42Speaker 1: things start heating up north of the Mason Dixon line.
- 54:45Speaker 1: But same thing I think with Young where once we
- 54:48Speaker 1: get into the summer months, that's when he becomes more
- 54:50Speaker 1: and more fascinating. That especially if you're looking for an
- 54:53Speaker 1: extra option at corner and field, third base, that's where
- 54:56Speaker 1: you're starting to target Young. Okay, staying in ales, like
- 55:00Speaker 1: I said, because we're just like hammering the over on
- 55:04Speaker 1: that right now. Is Luke Keishel infielder actually kind of
- 55:08Speaker 1: like utility man. He'll play some outfield too, but I
- 55:10Speaker 1: think his main calling will be second base for the
- 55:12Speaker 1: Minnesota Twins. We just highlighted in the first half of
- 55:15Speaker 1: the show things are unraveling quickly in Minnesota. Kishel I'm
- 55:20Speaker 1: a little surprised he didn't get a call up last
- 55:22Speaker 1: year because twenty twenty four was fantastic for him across
- 55:26Speaker 1: Double A and and hi a three oh three four
- 55:29Speaker 1: to twenty forty three slash line that's a one to
- 55:32Speaker 1: fifty eight WRC plus. But in the one hundred and
- 55:35Speaker 1: two games he played fifteen homers twenty three Stonlee bases,
- 55:39Speaker 1: so he's got a little bit of a mix of
- 55:41Speaker 1: both and did that also with a torn UCL. I
- 55:45Speaker 1: think because he had Tommy John in the offseason that
- 55:48Speaker 1: held him back a little bit in spring training. Has
- 55:51Speaker 1: come out the gates doing well in Triple A, holding
- 55:54Speaker 1: his own at Saint Paul two eighty six, four oh seven,
- 55:57Speaker 1: three eighty one four stone one home run. I like Keisho,
- 56:02Speaker 1: especially in leagues where if you just need a little
- 56:04Speaker 1: stone base help. After we've talked about you're looking at
- 56:08Speaker 1: the first wave of call ups. Keisho, I think is
- 56:10Speaker 1: a great person to stash away. What do you think?
- 56:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I really do, And like I maybe a bold
- 56:16Speaker 2: statement here, I think he could outperform Ramon Anthony this
- 56:18Speaker 2: year if called out.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Like I think fancy value, like yeah, from a.
- 56:23Speaker 2: Fantasy valuepective perspective, I think Anthony has a long term
- 56:27Speaker 2: higher upside overall potential, but Kishel's got that very very
- 56:31Speaker 2: steady profile and he does everything just above average. And
- 56:35Speaker 2: like we've talked about that in this podcast before, just
- 56:37Speaker 2: being just above average and a lot of things means
- 56:39Speaker 2: you're really really good and you're really valuable in the
- 56:41Speaker 2: fantasy game. And so you know, I wouldn't be surprised
- 56:44Speaker 2: to see him have the pace of a twenty twenty
- 56:46Speaker 2: season for a guy that hits two seventy and that's
- 56:50Speaker 2: really really valuable. And he's I think more mature. I
- 56:54Speaker 2: think he's you know, a little bit better, like even
- 56:56Speaker 2: on the base path that I don't think he's not
- 56:57Speaker 2: a blazer, but he is a lot more than what
- 57:01Speaker 2: we've seen with Anthony, So I think he picks his
- 57:03Speaker 2: spots better. So I think there's a lot of things
- 57:06Speaker 2: going for Keishel, and he's just he's not the sexy
- 57:09Speaker 2: prospect name. He kind of slides with the radar. He's
- 57:11Speaker 2: in Minnesota, Like, I think he's gonna surprise folks and
- 57:15Speaker 2: he's gonna get the call up. People are gonna pick
- 57:17Speaker 2: him up right away, and then you're come back like
- 57:19Speaker 2: two three weeks later and be like why did I
- 57:21Speaker 2: pick this guy up? Because he's just like pounding, like
- 57:23Speaker 2: and it's not gonna be like big games either. It's
- 57:25Speaker 2: gonna be like a homework today, a steal tomorrow, two
- 57:28Speaker 2: RBI game, like he's just gonna like do it. And
- 57:31Speaker 2: then you're gonna look at the two weeks and be like,
- 57:32Speaker 2: my goodness, this guy.
- 57:33Speaker 1: Guy's really good.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Got an't good. So I really like Keishel. I think
- 57:37Speaker 2: there's more to be had there. I don't think the
- 57:40Speaker 2: hype's gonna get too far because I don't think the
- 57:42Speaker 2: upside is entirely significant. But there's more of a floor,
- 57:45Speaker 2: a higher floor for Keshel than some other guys.
- 57:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so it. Briand's me actually a lot
- 57:50Speaker 1: of like Tyler Fitzgerald. Maybe not like that crazy like
- 57:54Speaker 1: power run that Tyler Fitzgerald went on for a little bit,
- 57:56Speaker 1: but same sort of like double double in terms of
- 58:01Speaker 1: home run in stolem based totals.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely.
- 58:05Speaker 1: Okay, Well, let's get sticking again in the al Central
- 58:08Speaker 1: here because we're going back to Kansas City. I feel
- 58:12Speaker 1: like I'm giving away a little bit of a secret here.
- 58:13Speaker 1: Because I found this guy recently over the past just
- 58:17Speaker 1: a couple of weeks, as I was watching a lot
- 58:19Speaker 1: of the new minor league numbers coming in, and I
- 58:22Speaker 1: think he's a pretty deep cut, and I feel like
- 58:24Speaker 1: you're about to just steal him from underneath me in
- 58:27Speaker 1: a lot of our leagues. I'm talking about Luender Avila
- 58:30Speaker 1: from the Kansas City Royals. He is a twenty three
- 58:33Speaker 1: year old right hander who is currently down in Triple A,
- 58:36Speaker 1: but came off of a pretty solid spring training too,
- 58:39Speaker 1: where he put up a one to fifty ERA over
- 58:42Speaker 1: six innings fifteen innings at Triple A so far this
- 58:45Speaker 1: year with a twelve K nine. It's a four to
- 58:47Speaker 1: twenty ERA, but it's a two ninety five FIP has
- 58:50Speaker 1: always had a great ground ball profile around fifty percent,
- 58:53Speaker 1: and you look at his Fangrafs prospect report, it's a
- 58:58Speaker 1: forty plus future value but fifty to fifty five fastball,
- 59:02Speaker 1: forty five fifty slider, fifty sixty curveball, forty to fifty
- 59:06Speaker 1: change up. And the first number I'm saying there is
- 59:09Speaker 1: the current actual like grade, and then the second is
- 59:13Speaker 1: the future. I guess I just said that in a
- 59:15Speaker 1: split or two. The command has always been kind of
- 59:18Speaker 1: his rough point where it was a thirty command grade.
- 59:22Speaker 1: But in spring training he quelled the walks and the
- 59:25Speaker 1: well the walks have been held down in triple A
- 59:28Speaker 1: so far too that they're if he can stay where
- 59:31Speaker 1: he's at, you know, in the in the threes with
- 59:33Speaker 1: his walk rate, you're looking at a guy with a
- 59:36Speaker 1: five pitch mix. Great home park in Kansas City. That
- 59:40Speaker 1: rotation is made up of Cole Reagan's who's had two
- 59:43Speaker 1: Tommy John's, Chris Bubach, who I believe it's had two
- 59:46Speaker 1: Tommy Johns as well, but it's coming back from one,
- 59:49Speaker 1: and a bunch of geriatrics between Michael Lorenzen, Seth Lugo
- 59:54Speaker 1: and Michael waka Vila's. I'm the forty man roster. I
- 59:58Speaker 1: think he gets up immediately when they need another starter.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I haven't dug into him incredibly much. I think
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: he I look at it. I wouldn't be surprised with
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: Logan Henderson's path here because I don't know that there's
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: a ton left to do in the miners besides build
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: up the innings. But he's actually pitched a lot more
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: than some guys in the miners, like he's eclipsed one
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: hundred innings multiple times, and so there's not like you're
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: trying to really build that up. He's he's got that
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: standina already, so I wouldn't be surprised that the first
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: like chinking anywhere in the armor on that rotation or
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: in that bullpen, that he gets a gets a call.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: Just the history of walks do concern me a little bit,
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: but again they're not gonn hurt him so much because
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: he keeps the ball on the ground he does. It
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: looks like his stuff's been playing up a little bit,
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: so he's intriguing. I'm not sure how much I'm jumping yet,
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: but I like the call to your point of like
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: the next thing to watch next, you know, is it's
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: a profile a guy that could surprise some people if
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: he gets called up, called up. So I'm not raising
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: the way rewire yet he get first dibbs, but don't
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: wait too long.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: Yeah, And I mean, I think the nice thing here
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: is like a lot of the projections are pretty ho
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: hum on a villa because of just the history of
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: walks you were talking about. But he has looked different
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: this year. The bat has picked it up. It's a
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: three eighty projected era from the bat to go with
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: about eight and a half K nine and a three
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: point eight walk per nine. I mean, that's gonna play.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: And that's like a number three or four fantasy kind
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: of like picture. It's you can see the upside of
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: a villa. Okay, Like I said, how do we do
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: this all in l Central? So far? On the next
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: big things? The next one we have is somebody who
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: I was really excited for coming to the spring but
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: kind of fell flat on his face and then pop
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: back late in spring training after he had already lost
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: the job. I'm talking about second basement. Juan Brito of
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: the Cleveland Guardian. What's gonna make this tough is that
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: gabriol Aris has looked great in Cleveland. So far. Arius
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: is off to a very solid start with a two
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: eighty six three forty five four to ninety slash line
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: one forty two WRC plus with three bombs and fifty
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: five plate appearances. But one Brito has been holding his
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: own down in triple A, a three twenty three ninety
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: five forty slash line one fifty WRC plus with two
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: homers four stolen bases and sixty plate appearances. Like I said,
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: he lost the job pretty early in spring training because
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: I think he started like one for twenty or something
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: real bad Brito did, but he turned it around by
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: the end, put up an eighty six wrclus plus popped
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: four homers. I think I've always loved this profile in
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: terms of the speed and power combo from Brito along
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: with just like I don't know what it is about Cleveland,
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: but whenever they get a hold of like a middle
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: infielder like this, I feel like they always get the
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: best out of them, and I'm willing to bet on that.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel a little bit of that Luke Keishael
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: profile like it. It's again a guy that does a
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: lot of good things, right. What I think is really
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: interesting about him is he can play every single position
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: in the infield, and so when you talk about path
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: the playing time, it's it's the entire infield that is
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: his opportunity. Now, there's a few guys there that aren't
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: probably gonna go up there their opportunity at this Jose
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: Ramiroz guy that here's pretty good. But you know, Carlston
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Tanna's thirty nine years old like him, you breather area
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: ares like you said, like still young unknown. Uh, it's
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: there's opportunities there for him to get playing time, and
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: I think he can be sneaky sneaky good and he's
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: looked very, very solid so far in Triple A. I
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: think they're gonna give him a little bit more time.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: But he's played, he's he's hit Triple A in each
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: of the last two years. He had one hundred and
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: forty four games there last year and was one thirteen
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: WRC plus, very very solid profile. So again, another guy
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: that gets called up. I think get multiposition eligibility, you
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: can plug and play. He's like one of the best
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: bench pieces you can have, right He's kind of like
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: a fun Willie Castro type type thing that you could
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: see developing down down the line with maybe a little
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: bit more power.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I think the other pathway, too, is
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: the outfield with I mean, Nolan Jones is cooked. I
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: think I don't know if that's ever coming back, and
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: it's been a really brutal start for him in Cleveland. Again,
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Juan Brito got nineteen games in right field at Triple
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: A last year. I've been to that stadium in Columbus.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: It's a really short PORTU in right field. Maybe that's
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: a factor because he hasn't played any in twenty twenty five,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: but you could see them maybe mix it up to
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: get Brito up that especially if Cleveland needs an extra
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: bad and they've also kind of given up the ghost
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: on Nolan Jones. I would be stashing Brito in fifteen
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: teamers honestly at this point, just to like see what happens,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: you know, on a week to week basis, twelve teams
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: more of a watch list. All right, I'm with you. Now,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: let's get into the steel Let's leave the al Central, yes,
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: and have a little bit of This type of player
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: is just always fascinating because we saw it a little
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: bit last year in Victor Scott and this profile is similar,
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: maybe a little less power, but like better contact ability.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: So we are of course talking about outfielder Chandler Simpson
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: of the Tampa Bay Rays, who I mean, this dude
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: stole one hundred and four minor league bases last year
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: that like it was across Double A and Hi A.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: I mean, I think maybe the one concern here is
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: that he hasn't looked great in Triple A. Is first
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: go around so far in twenty twenty five, it's a
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: two ninety seven, three thirteen three twenty eight slash line
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: that's only a seventy six WRC plus. But he doesn't
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: strike out because he just slaps the ball and puts
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: it in play and then runs. Has eight stolen bases
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: already in fifteen games. This is a guy who I
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: think it'll work in the majors because like the slapping
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: of just the slap hitting and the ground ball ability
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: will allow him to run it out. But I don't
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: think you're gonna get maybe more than one or two
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: homers a season, but you could be looking at eighty
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: plus storm bases. You using a bench piece on Chandler
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: Simpson to either make a late run at storm bases
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: or uses a trade chip maybe in your leagues out there.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely rotal leagues. I think he is a very
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: intriguing piece because you're right, it's trade chip or late run.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: Like he's a great insurance policy. He's like he's like
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: one Pier but more more recent, like no power, lots
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: of speed, hours should be decent, And I think he's
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: the kind of guy that you're sitting there like he
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: gets called up, and you know, I actually love from
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: a fancy perspective looking like catcher capabilities and matchups and seeing, hey,
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: this guy's going up against the catcher that barely throws
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: any gutta gut or a pitcher that can't hold him
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: body on, because like that's a guy like changer or
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: simpthing can like rack up like three or four steals
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: in a game and like make a big deal. And
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: to your point, one hundred and four steals last year
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: in the minors, and he was caught seventeen times. Like
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: the guy is blazing fast, and he probably had a
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: down year from an efficiency perspective compared to what he's
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: done in the past. So I think, you know, he's
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: really intriguing. He's a one trick pony type of guy,
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: but he's that one trick that you know, he could
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: absolutely win a category for you. And I think that
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: if you don't need that category, somebody needs it. Somebody
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: will trade you something very valuable for it. If he
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: gets called up and you know, and he makes that
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: impact now there, I think his playing time is going
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: to be a challenge. I think that's the The Rays
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: have always been a team that kind of don't you know,
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: they kind of coll around a rocky thing is not
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: quite as bad where they don't just give a guy
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: a chance to to run, and we've got camera. Meisner's
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: been looking really good. Morel's been pretty uch turned decent.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: But you do have Jake mg Me and him out
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: there that, let's be honest, not really holding holding folks back.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: But you're also gonna have hassion. Kim is gonna be
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: coming back before too long and taking up a spot
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: on the in the in field that might push somebody
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: out to the outfield. So what we'll see when he
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: gets called up, But they're not gonna hold him down
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: much longer. And even if they call him up in
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: a part time role, daily leagues are gonna get some value.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I think the one intriguing pathway for
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: Simpson here is how Johnny and De Luca's shoulder recovers,
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: because they are running Meisner out in center field right now,
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: and it's not great. Meisner is not a center fielder,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: I don't think, and like the Rays are just kind
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: of limping by with that so far. I mean, yeah,
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: Meisner in just fifteen games is sorry, negative one point
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: four run value on Fangrass because it's he's not a
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: center fielder. He's a little bit too big, a little
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: too clunky, and if de Luca is out for a
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: longer term period with that shoulder, I think that's where
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: they might turn to Simpson because not only does Simpson
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: run really well, he plays really great defense too, and
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: has a really good arm. Honestly, it is Victor Scott
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: with just less power, I think, but better contact ability.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: So it's it's just going to be a fascinating profile
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: in ret leagues because, especially if you're a little bit
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: light on swom bases, it's great to tuck away somebody
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: like this on your reserve roster because immediately when he
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: comes up, then you can start plugging him in, trying
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: to pop a few stolen bases every week and then
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: clawing your way back.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Quick pop Gouz for you. How many errors has he
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: made in the minors?
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: How many? Give me how many games he's played in
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: the miners.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: If I haven't done the math, we're probably talking two
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: hundred ish games that he's had in the field over
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: I mean there's not much in twenty two, so two
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: hundred and twenty five, two hundred and thirty games somewhere
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: in there.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I can't tell if it's going to be
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: low or it also could be high because like, because
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: he can get that, others can't, yes exactly and drop it.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna give him a dozen a dozen airs.
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: Three, he's gonna be three errors. This guy can fly
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: and he knows what he's doing with the glove.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: Fantastic. All right, Well, that's gonna wrap it up. If
