- 0:15Speaker 4: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:19Speaker 3: They have never won three road games in a row,
- 0:22Speaker 3: you know, stretch of you know, three in a row.
- 0:25Speaker 2: And you're talking about three and three straight weeks, three
- 0:28Speaker 2: straight weeks. I know that you knew that, but I
- 0:30Speaker 2: would just want to make sure the fans, you know,
- 0:33Speaker 2: they went underfeeder to know seven, I think they won
- 0:35Speaker 2: three road.
- 0:36Speaker 4: They didn't have three in a row during that season.
- 0:38Speaker 3: So he says, my wife's pregnant with our first child,
- 0:41Speaker 3: doing January congratulations, and we're searching for boys names. She's
- 0:45Speaker 3: already vetoed, Brady and Julian. So any sneaky suggestions I
- 0:49Speaker 3: can put on the table, drakeronk whatever you do, give
- 0:54Speaker 3: the kid a name, knowing that someday he's going to
- 0:56Speaker 3: be an adult.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I think Fred should come back around. I mean, Fred
- 0:59Speaker 1: is not a lot all the friends out there, you.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Know, Fred's okay, an adult mate, the guy next door.
- 1:06Speaker 4: A baby's like a little baby Fred. Oh, we're gonna name
- 1:08Speaker 4: our daughter Tuesday and.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Why and Paul, did you catch the Emmy tribute to
- 1:16Speaker 3: Earth Wind and Fire?
- 1:17Speaker 4: It was awesome?
- 1:18Speaker 2: Of course I did. Thanks for asking appreciate from the
- 1:21Speaker 2: alert for that or like, I don't know how you
- 1:22Speaker 2: cannot be in a good mood listening to those songs.
- 1:24Speaker 2: But the next day, Tip Andre Tippert walked through our
- 1:27Speaker 2: office and he was singing an earth Wind and Fire sun.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Didn't you watched last night?
- 1:31Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:31Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:31Speaker 2: And then of course he tells me the story. Just
- 1:32Speaker 2: I tell you at the time, I was in the
- 1:33Speaker 2: four Sun with Philip Bailey, Like, okay, Tip, I get it.
- 1:38Speaker 2: This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:40Speaker 5: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a Toyota
- 1:44Speaker 5: dot com.
- 1:47Speaker 3: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:51Speaker 3: at Jillette Stadium, getting ready for the New Orleans Saints
- 1:56Speaker 3: and what could be a more competitive game than a
- 1:59Speaker 3: lot of people are.
- 2:00Speaker 4: What's the line, Paul.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Three and a half?
- 2:02Speaker 4: Three and a half?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Right, Patriots favored by three and a half on the road.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Usually the home team gets three.
- 2:07Speaker 4: They do, so it's six and a half a right, math.
- 2:11Speaker 2: As long as we get that out of the way
- 2:12Speaker 2: Earlier in the show.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Uh, and we're doing that. We're going to be doing picks,
- 2:16Speaker 3: as you probably know later in the show. Very very
- 2:20Speaker 3: controversial segment it is.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I agreed, it's more of a depressing segment for me.
- 2:26Speaker 1: But you know, more.
- 2:27Speaker 4: People like it than not. But there's some people that don't.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Were getting some pushback. Is it because Evan hasn't been
- 2:31Speaker 2: here and they don't get the ball? No or picks
- 2:33Speaker 2: live just one person.
- 2:35Speaker 3: One person is me, just one Even Evan has to
- 2:40Speaker 3: leave the show when they do picks.
- 2:42Speaker 4: I got that email. Really, yeah, I was.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah, he knows too much. We don't. We can't let
- 2:47Speaker 1: him share that knowledge with Yeah.
- 2:49Speaker 3: All right, So what do we got here? We got
- 2:52Speaker 3: our first participation report yesterday. Yeah, any anything strike you
- 2:58Speaker 3: in that.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Elbow?
- 3:01Speaker 6: Elbow had a nice big sleeve on his elbow yesterday.
- 3:05Speaker 6: Jalen Hawkins also the hamstring. But both those guys were
- 3:10Speaker 6: at practicing the bubble yesterday. They just weren't participating in practice,
- 3:14Speaker 6: so they were doing some stuff off to the side. They
- 3:16Speaker 6: they've used Wednesdays as a rehabilitation day when guys are
- 3:22Speaker 6: banged up, not made you know, obviously Gibson's not practicing
- 3:25Speaker 6: but like when you have banged up guys like Kean
- 3:28Speaker 6: Waite Hawkins, it seems like they don't practice Wednesday, and
- 3:32Speaker 6: then they come back and they practice limited Thursday Friday
- 3:35Speaker 6: and have a chance to play on it.
- 3:37Speaker 4: It's a scheduled day off for bar War right.
- 3:40Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, he's still on the he's still limited. He
- 3:44Speaker 6: was he he practiced a little bit, okay, but yeah,
- 3:47Speaker 6: he's still on some sort of a program.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Well along those lines. We got to talk to him yesterday,
- 3:51Speaker 1: so I think at halftime, yeah, today we'll be uh.
- 3:54Speaker 4: You guys said you had a very good interview with
- 3:56Speaker 4: Christian bar He was great.
- 3:57Speaker 1: It's surprising, I think partially because they can walk right
- 4:00Speaker 1: in here off the field and then they see a
- 4:02Speaker 1: studio and and you know, they know our faces a
- 4:05Speaker 1: little bit. I mean, Evan has a little bit of
- 4:06Speaker 1: a relationship with Barmore. So it was just having seen
- 4:09Speaker 1: all these guys in press conferences and then seeing the
- 4:11Speaker 1: difference of how they are in here. I think it's
- 4:13Speaker 1: a It's a pretty good thing for especially for the
- 4:14Speaker 1: fans who know us a little bit and you know,
- 4:17Speaker 1: we have our kind of interaction with him, and he
- 4:18Speaker 1: was really personable and he's excited. I mean, this guy
- 4:21Speaker 1: just has energy through the roof at all times. So
- 4:24Speaker 1: it was it was a lot of fun.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Yeah, so looking forward to that at the break. Yeah,
- 4:28Speaker 4: we'll get to that.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:30Speaker 6: He's turning me into like his his personal ref police.
- 4:34Speaker 6: Like every time he gets held he wants me to
- 4:37Speaker 6: like you post it on Twitter my dog come here,
- 4:39Speaker 6: like yeah, yeah, I literally did. I pointed at myself
- 4:46Speaker 6: and I was like, are you talking at me? Yeah? No,
- 4:49Speaker 6: he he every week he's like, go watch this play,
- 4:52Speaker 6: go watch that play like I'm being held here, and
- 4:55Speaker 6: I sure enough, he's he's right.
- 4:58Speaker 7: You think he's reading your film breakdowns.
- 5:00Speaker 6: I don't know. I don't know his part.
- 5:04Speaker 7: Yeah, we talked.
- 5:06Speaker 6: We talk about like past Russian stuff a lot. You know,
- 5:09Speaker 6: I pick his brain about it, and so I think
- 5:11Speaker 6: he knows that I that I grind the table a
- 5:14Speaker 6: little bit.
- 5:14Speaker 1: So pretty soon in the locker room, he's just going
- 5:16Speaker 1: to be like Evan.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I heard.
- 5:20Speaker 4: I heard Drake likes Taylor Taylor Kyle.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Yeah, oh no, not him too.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Now to so everybody Drake, Well, it sounded like Rabel
- 5:31Speaker 1: had like a job for Taylor. Like I'm like he's gonna.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Wanted to break down the amount of holding penalties that
- 5:36Speaker 2: go on called on X running place. That was his
- 5:40Speaker 2: plea to him yesterday.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Yeah, put that resume in, Taylor. I think the job
- 5:44Speaker 1: market's open for you.
- 5:46Speaker 6: Good for him.
- 5:47Speaker 7: Wait, I have a question, Evan.
- 5:49Speaker 8: Was it you who asked that first initial question of
- 5:51Speaker 8: digs where he made like the five out of ten
- 5:53Speaker 8: comment or the six out of ten comment.
- 5:55Speaker 6: I didn't ask the original question, but he's the follow up.
- 5:58Speaker 6: The six out of ten was after the game on
- 6:00Speaker 6: Sunday night, Yeah, you're.
- 6:02Speaker 8: On EEI when he said I couldn't help but think
- 6:06Speaker 8: about you, because he said, I don't know which reporter
- 6:09Speaker 8: it was.
- 6:09Speaker 7: I don't know the guy, and I was like, I'm
- 6:11Speaker 7: pretty sure it was Evan.
- 6:12Speaker 9: No.
- 6:13Speaker 6: I just asked him about like how he was feeling,
- 6:16Speaker 6: you know, two hundred yard games in a row. I
- 6:18Speaker 6: was like, you must be feeling pretty good, and he
- 6:21Speaker 6: jokingly said six out of ten and that was not
- 6:24Speaker 6: the question. But yeah, that was what he said in response.
- 6:27Speaker 6: But I did not ask the original question where he
- 6:30Speaker 6: said five out of ten, so that was not the Yeah.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Staying on him though, I mean, I don't know if
- 6:35Speaker 1: I did a good enough job highlighting yesterday him saying
- 6:38Speaker 1: like this might be even more of a challenge this
- 6:40Speaker 1: week for us to be able to repeat what we
- 6:42Speaker 1: did last year. You know, easy to get up for
- 6:45Speaker 1: a national game against Buffalo, but to keep the same
- 6:48Speaker 1: intensity in their preparation throughout this week. You know, they're
- 6:52Speaker 1: in the bubble yesterday a little bit of change of
- 6:54Speaker 1: scenery for them. I liked what Diggs was saying. I
- 6:56Speaker 1: think that was a good way to put it is.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Can you repeat over and them, that's what the good
- 7:01Speaker 1: teams do, right, The good teams are they beat the
- 7:04Speaker 1: bad teams. It's not up and down and you know
- 7:06Speaker 1: you're bad against the bad ones. But then you know,
- 7:08Speaker 1: that's the worst thing. I think he can be And
- 7:10Speaker 1: Brabel said it a lot. We don't want to be
- 7:12Speaker 1: front runners.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Freddie used to be great at this, and I'm being
- 7:14Speaker 2: serious before you get mad at me, Like you used
- 7:17Speaker 2: to like really identify when the Patriots would slip up,
- 7:21Speaker 2: you know how infrequently it was, but another super Bowl
- 7:25Speaker 2: for the Bill and the blank team, and they would
- 7:27Speaker 2: then go out and lose three on the next four
- 7:29Speaker 2: or something like that, you know, like Buffalo did it
- 7:32Speaker 2: a couple of times early in seasons where they would
- 7:35Speaker 2: you know, I think the Ryan Fitzpatrick game kind of
- 7:37Speaker 2: sticks out to me that they win and then you think, oh,
- 7:40Speaker 2: it's Buffalo going to be. No, they're not going to
- 7:42Speaker 2: be and fred nails it. It's like that's another team
- 7:44Speaker 2: that they won their super Bowl Jacksonville. Remember the other
- 7:47Speaker 2: went down to Jacksonville and the really uh hot hot weather. Yeah, Jacksonville,
- 7:54Speaker 2: and they're going crazy. You know, they follow Freddy's all over.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Those teams. Don't be one of those teams.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Right, that was And I think a lot of that
- 8:05Speaker 3: falls on the coach. Yeah, the coach and Rabel talked
- 8:08Speaker 3: about it. You have to be consistent. Yeah, you have
- 8:11Speaker 3: to make it consistent every week. You know, you have
- 8:15Speaker 3: a routine, and you know, no, one week isn't any
- 8:18Speaker 3: more or less important than the other week.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I think he's done a good job, you know, hearing
- 8:22Speaker 1: him Wednesday and you know even Monday, just seeming to
- 8:26Speaker 1: keep the team focused and not all caught up in
- 8:29Speaker 1: all the hype raising.
- 8:30Speaker 3: And you know, you could say, well, you know, he's
- 8:32Speaker 3: the one that said that this game was that's the game.
- 8:35Speaker 3: That doesn't mean during the week, they change what they
- 8:38Speaker 3: do and how they do it.
- 8:40Speaker 4: You know, that's that's different. So I look at the
- 8:43Speaker 4: nuance there.
- 8:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I would say just yesterday out at practice, there
- 8:47Speaker 6: was a good buzz. There was a good energy at
- 8:49Speaker 6: practice yesterday. And I thought the same thing, Like I
- 8:51Speaker 6: was a little worried they we're going to start reading
- 8:53Speaker 6: the headlines and you know, feeling pretty good about themselves
- 8:57Speaker 6: and you know, get complacent. And I mean it was
- 9:00Speaker 6: just a snapshot of maybe fifteen minutes of practice, but
- 9:03Speaker 6: I thought that there was some pretty good buzz, pretty
- 9:06Speaker 6: good energy. They are inside, which always helps. I think
- 9:09Speaker 6: the players like practicing.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Oh, they're seeing how they come out on Sunday. I
- 9:12Speaker 4: mean that'll be the test.
- 9:13Speaker 1: You know it will, because they've they've started slow, especially
- 9:17Speaker 1: on the defensive side of the ball, and you know,
- 9:19Speaker 1: even got to i mean cover to fumble last week
- 9:22Speaker 1: first but second half came out and boot right down
- 9:25Speaker 1: the field on them. So I think that's that start
- 9:28Speaker 1: will be really important. Evan and I just did our
- 9:30Speaker 1: preview and I mean not to oversimplify it, but I
- 9:32Speaker 1: just you can't give them you can't lose the turnover
- 9:35Speaker 1: battle this week. You can't give them. I mean, they
- 9:37Speaker 1: only have three turnovers on the year, so as bad
- 9:39Speaker 1: as they've been, they've been playing pretty clean. But last week,
- 9:42Speaker 1: that's all you need to know is the five turnovers
- 9:44Speaker 1: that the Giants coughed up, and that's all it takes.
- 9:47Speaker 1: So I think play clean and maybe try to pick
- 9:50Speaker 1: up some yardage and maybe even some points and special
- 9:52Speaker 1: teams might be a good way to good way to go.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Yeah, and I guess the Saints are having trouble with
- 9:57Speaker 3: their special teams.
- 9:58Speaker 4: We talked about that yesterday.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Yeah, they're they're the lowest ranked team, and I think
- 10:01Speaker 1: a lot of it's just Seattle where they had their
- 10:03Speaker 1: first half was you know, punt return for a touchdown,
- 10:06Speaker 1: pump block, field miss some too, So it's it's been
- 10:10Speaker 1: across the board for them.
- 10:11Speaker 2: With a team that has a hard time scoring, they
- 10:14Speaker 2: can't afford to field.
- 10:15Speaker 1: It's funny say that, Paul. I'm going to bring this
- 10:17Speaker 1: up because morell like that. Evan. We're having a little
- 10:19Speaker 1: pregame chatter this morning before we shot, and as I
- 10:21Speaker 1: said to at Evan, I'm like, do you feel like
- 10:24Speaker 1: the last couple of years you've gotten you know, I
- 10:26Speaker 1: don't know how to say this, like your football knowledge
- 10:28Speaker 1: is improved by watching a bad team a lot and
- 10:31Speaker 1: really starting to understand like what makes a bad team
- 10:34Speaker 1: bad teams and what could potentially make a bad team
- 10:37Speaker 1: dangerous on a particular Sunday. Like you're always looking at
- 10:40Speaker 1: limited Patriots teams in recent history and you know, breaking
- 10:44Speaker 1: down those guys and all, this is what they're going
- 10:46Speaker 1: to have to do and they just can't turn it
- 10:47Speaker 1: over and you know all those things. It's I mean,
- 10:49Speaker 1: Evan spent a long time studying film of one of
- 10:52Speaker 1: the greatest runs in sports history, and now we have
- 10:54Speaker 1: a couple of years of four win teams that you know,
- 10:56Speaker 1: we're discombobulated, weren't well coordinated, and you know, now when
- 10:59Speaker 1: I watched of the Saints, you see, yeah, this is
- 11:02Speaker 1: you know, some of what the Patriots were dealing with
- 11:04Speaker 1: when they you know, weren't quite sure about the quarterback.
- 11:06Speaker 1: They had some weapons, I mean here down in New Orleans,
- 11:08Speaker 1: but you know, just a different perspective. I think you
- 11:11Speaker 1: get the last couple of years.
- 11:12Speaker 6: I think the biggest thing just looking at it offensively, Uh,
- 11:15Speaker 6: they are dead last in the league and explosive play rate,
- 11:18Speaker 6: so they don't they're just not an explosive offense, and
- 11:20Speaker 6: their offensive line has not been good. And I when
- 11:23Speaker 6: you look across the league other than the quarterback position,
- 11:26Speaker 6: at the offenses that are good, they hit big plays
- 11:29Speaker 6: and they can protect the quarterback like those are like
- 11:31Speaker 6: the Common Denominators, and the Saints don't do either of
- 11:34Speaker 6: those things well. And so I think that if you're
- 11:38Speaker 6: talking about why is his offense bad, you know, it
- 11:41Speaker 6: usually starts up front, and it starts with are you dangerous?
- 11:44Speaker 6: Like can you really put fear into a defense? And
- 11:48Speaker 6: right now, their offensive outside of one week where Shaheed
- 11:51Speaker 6: goes for eighty seven yards on a touchdown, has really
- 11:54Speaker 6: not put any fear into defense.
- 11:56Speaker 8: Well even last week they only had one touchdown and
- 11:58Speaker 8: then it's just field goals and what was it.
- 12:01Speaker 6: Well, yeah, so they forced five straight turnovers and they
- 12:04Speaker 6: only scored six.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Points off five turnovers, right.
- 12:07Speaker 6: So they won. This is like a classic Paul game
- 12:10Speaker 6: from the last couple of years where it's like they
- 12:13Speaker 6: got the twenty, only got the twenty six points after
- 12:16Speaker 6: turning the ball over five times. Like that's usually when
- 12:20Speaker 6: the opponent turns the ball over five times, you score
- 12:23Speaker 6: a lot.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Of Kamara's on their participation in report with an ankle.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Do we know how bad that is?
- 12:29Speaker 1: No, I think he's been on it, so I don't
- 12:32Speaker 1: know if it's the lingering's got a little linger any thing.
- 12:35Speaker 1: But he seemed okay last week. But yeah, some some
- 12:36Speaker 1: of the monitor. I mean, they need every little piece
- 12:38Speaker 1: that they can get, and you know, I want to
- 12:41Speaker 1: continue to feel good about the Patriots defense. They've done
- 12:43Speaker 1: a really good job so far. Pressed me last week,
- 12:46Speaker 1: so keep it up, you know, especially these guys don't
- 12:48Speaker 1: have a day off where you know, come up and
- 12:51Speaker 1: tackle them. There's gonna be a lot of underneath stuff.
- 12:53Speaker 1: So they think broken tackles, that's the stuff they can't
- 12:56Speaker 1: let happen or they're going to you know, then that's
- 12:57Speaker 1: how they're going to find their way to picking up
- 12:59Speaker 1: some yardage.
- 12:59Speaker 6: I was really being a old friend Nick Underhill, who's
- 13:02Speaker 6: down there in New Orleans covering the sands, does a
- 13:04Speaker 6: really good job. Kamara. And I'm not trying to like say,
- 13:07Speaker 6: don't like overlook Kamara, but Kamara is not really the
- 13:12Speaker 6: guy that, like his name brand is like what we
- 13:15Speaker 6: recognize with right now. But they're talking a lot about
- 13:18Speaker 6: Kendre Miller potentially taking over as the lead back in
- 13:21Speaker 6: New Orleans right now, and he's been running better all
- 13:24Speaker 6: year than Kamara, So I don't know if that's ankle
- 13:28Speaker 6: injury related, if Kamara it's finally catching up to Kamara,
- 13:31Speaker 6: And yeah, I don't know what it is. But they
- 13:34Speaker 6: don't talk or write about Kamara the way that you
- 13:37Speaker 6: think of Alvin Kamara when the name comes up.
- 13:39Speaker 2: To be honest with you, I've never really loved Kamara
- 13:42Speaker 2: as a pure runner, you know, as a running back.
- 13:45Speaker 2: I think he's been terrific. You don't like any runner now, no,
- 13:49Speaker 2: but I do like his kind of running back. That's
- 13:51Speaker 2: the kind of like that the versatile guy that catches
- 13:54Speaker 2: passes and you can hand the ball to him once
- 13:56Speaker 2: in a while. They've tried to make him sort of
- 13:58Speaker 2: their full time lead, and I don't think that's what
- 14:01Speaker 2: he's really best suited for. And as Alex said, you know,
- 14:04Speaker 2: at age thirty that is when it starts. That's a
- 14:07Speaker 2: weird time to try to give him more of a workload.
- 14:10Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean he's a terrific receiver and he's
- 14:13Speaker 2: made a million plays for that team over the years
- 14:15Speaker 2: out of the backfield, but he doesn't worry me as
- 14:18Speaker 2: a between the tackles, consistent fifteen carry a game threat.
- 14:22Speaker 6: No, yeah, I mean he's at four yards per touch
- 14:24Speaker 6: right now, be a career low.
- 14:26Speaker 4: What's our defense ranked as of week five?
- 14:31Speaker 1: Not too great in.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Terms of what overall defense Like when you say, oh,
- 14:36Speaker 3: you have the fourth ranked defense, whatever those metrics are, how.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Do we run?
- 14:40Speaker 2: That would be yards middle?
- 14:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't.
- 14:42Speaker 6: I don't pay attention to yards.
- 14:44Speaker 2: I was waiting for me.
- 14:45Speaker 6: Yeah, dv A, I think there.
- 14:50Speaker 2: But the one he does pay attention to their their
- 14:52Speaker 2: twenty twenties.
- 14:54Speaker 6: You know, they they're getting their training in the right
- 14:57Speaker 6: direction now that Gonzales is back. So a lot of
- 15:00Speaker 6: that was, you know, early on in the season without Gonzales.
- 15:03Speaker 1: But I think the Raiders game hurts them, Yeah, because
- 15:05Speaker 1: it's all connected right towards by Geno Smith. And now
- 15:08Speaker 1: they're terrible. So I think that refuted.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Yeah a little bit too.
- 15:11Speaker 6: Yeah, but they their their run defense has been really good. Yeah,
- 15:15Speaker 6: they're like top ten in the league in run defense.
- 15:18Speaker 4: What about points allowed?
- 15:20Speaker 6: They're like ninth or tenth, they're ninth since week two?
- 15:24Speaker 3: Isn't that the most important one. Yeah, no, because you
- 15:28Speaker 3: can have one game that skews it.
- 15:30Speaker 4: Way the other.
- 15:31Speaker 6: It is like I hear that. Yeah, I just think
- 15:33Speaker 6: things like yards and points lack context. You know, like
- 15:37Speaker 6: who are they playing, you know, who's healthy for the
- 15:39Speaker 6: other team, what quarterbacks are you facing? You know like
- 15:42Speaker 6: all that kind of whereas like things like DVOA try
- 15:45Speaker 6: to bake that type of stuff.
- 15:46Speaker 3: But have you ever had a team that was like
- 15:48Speaker 3: top five in points allowed meaning good, that wasn't didn't
- 15:52Speaker 3: have a winning record?
- 15:54Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 15:54Speaker 6: The Patriots really, I mean the Patriots in like twenty
- 15:57Speaker 6: three were a really good defense terms of a lot
- 16:01Speaker 6: of the stats, and they were four and thirteen.
- 16:04Speaker 4: I'm talking about points allowed.
- 16:05Speaker 6: Yeah, they're probably top ten in the league in points allowed.
- 16:07Speaker 7: And twenty three like the Germany. Remember the Germany game,
- 16:10Speaker 7: the defense trolled out.
- 16:11Speaker 4: Yeah, right, there was a lot of we just didn't
- 16:14Speaker 4: have an offense.
- 16:15Speaker 2: I have them nothing three stretch.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Now they're are in points their twelfth on offense and
- 16:22Speaker 1: ninth on defense. Right now, yards there, sixteenth and eighteenth,
- 16:26Speaker 1: third down their fourteenth and twenty first, red zone sixteenth
- 16:29Speaker 1: and thirtieth.
- 16:30Speaker 6: Yeah, the red zone defense been bad. That's been a
- 16:33Speaker 6: weak spot.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Oh, TVOA twenty first overall, thirteenth offense, twenty seventh defense,
- 16:38Speaker 1: and fifteenth on special teams. EPA is tenth and twenty second.
- 16:42Speaker 1: So I think the defense is getting better statistically, but
- 16:46Speaker 1: I just I mean, to me, it was just how
- 16:48Speaker 1: did it look and that against you know, Josh Allen. Yeah,
- 16:50Speaker 1: they gay gave up some plays for sure, but that's
- 16:52Speaker 1: you know, that's what's going to happen. I just I
- 16:55Speaker 1: like what the horses that they have to deal with
- 16:57Speaker 1: those kind of guys and to make plays at the
- 16:59Speaker 1: end of the game.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Okay, eight five five Pats five hundred is the Hotline
- 17:03Speaker 3: podcast at Patriots dot com is the email address address.
- 17:07Speaker 3: We gotta hurry because we've got to do picks later.
- 17:10Speaker 3: We're gonna have the bar More interview at the break,
- 17:13Speaker 3: so a full show and of course you so let's
- 17:17Speaker 3: get to you, uh, Sean, and Vancouver's on the line.
- 17:20Speaker 2: What's up, Sean?
- 17:22Speaker 7: Ahi?
- 17:22Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 17:23Speaker 10: Sorry, though yesterday for some reason I couldn't get through
- 17:25Speaker 10: it cut off.
- 17:26Speaker 4: Oh it's all forgotten. What happens? Okay?
- 17:27Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, water under the bridge.
- 17:29Speaker 4: Yeah, don't worry about it, Sean.
- 17:31Speaker 1: You're forgiving you could buy a lunch if.
- 17:33Speaker 10: You Yeah, all right, I'll buy your Canadian lunch.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Is that like bacon.
- 17:45Speaker 10: Pretends to smoke me?
- 17:47Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 17:47Speaker 10: So seriously, I I'm really excited about the Patriots, and
- 17:52Speaker 10: I don't see them losing unless they beat themselves so
- 17:56Speaker 10: down in New Orleans, if if, if they don't beat themselves,
- 18:00Speaker 10: so I think and you know that they'll win twenty
- 18:01Speaker 10: eight to fourteen. The question I have is about stopping
- 18:05Speaker 10: the tight end. I don't know if John John's going
- 18:07Speaker 10: to play. I know he's got an ankle or something
- 18:09Speaker 10: as well. So whatever tight end they say, so, I'm
- 18:12Speaker 10: wondering what adjustments do you think they'll make to take
- 18:16Speaker 10: care of that. So I'll leave you with that question
- 18:18Speaker 10: and go pack.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Okay, So how do you how do you all of
- 18:21Speaker 3: a sudden go from tight ends burning you to getting better?
- 18:26Speaker 6: It's a fair question. They are giving up the second
- 18:29Speaker 6: most yards in the league the tight ends right now
- 18:31Speaker 6: that they've faced good tight ends. You know, Brot Bauer
- 18:33Speaker 6: is a good player, Dald Kincaid's a good player. Pittsburgh
- 18:36Speaker 6: has multiple good tight ends, so some of that schedule related,
- 18:39Speaker 6: but they have not been able to cover tight ends
- 18:41Speaker 6: really since training camp, like this has been saying it
- 18:43Speaker 6: like it's.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Actually good against Pittsburgh. In that regard, I don't think
- 18:46Speaker 2: friar Muth did much and John Smith didn't do much either,
- 18:49Speaker 2: But the other one, I mean, brock Bowers had a
- 18:51Speaker 2: huge game.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Yeah, is it? Is it sometimes a pick your poison thing?
- 18:56Speaker 2: I mean, I I don't know that.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I just would say, is this Are they in danger
- 19:01Speaker 1: of losing games because of their inability to cover tight ends?
- 19:03Speaker 1: I mean it's a weakness right now, but I don't
- 19:05Speaker 1: think it's one of like the fatal flaw kind of weakness.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Well the specific thing, like I look at it as
- 19:12Speaker 2: past defense, I don't look at it as tight ends.
- 19:15Speaker 2: And I you know, I agree that since Gonzales came
- 19:19Speaker 2: back that secondary looks better to me than it did
- 19:23Speaker 2: in the first three weeks, which makes sense, right, he's
- 19:26Speaker 2: the best player, and you know he's lifted the entire group.
- 19:30Speaker 2: But I absolutely think it could be a fatal flower.
- 19:32Speaker 2: If it doesn't fix, I think it will sort of
- 19:35Speaker 2: hiron itself out. You can't allow Dalton Kinkaid to do
- 19:37Speaker 2: what he did the other night. You can't rely on
- 19:39Speaker 2: the other team turning it over three times, so they
- 19:41Speaker 2: only score twenty points. Like, you need to come up
- 19:44Speaker 2: with some stops too, You need to force some punts
- 19:46Speaker 2: once in a while too.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Yeah, highlights for me if they're you know, going forward.
- 19:50Speaker 1: I don't know what Craig Woodson's ceiling is, but it
- 19:53Speaker 1: shows what if you've got to really elite safety into
- 19:55Speaker 1: this mix of somebody who is just as comfortable good
- 19:59Speaker 1: in coverage and you know, has some range on the back.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I mean, look, I know everybody's looking for that player,
- 20:03Speaker 1: but that would be the fix and you know, would
- 20:06Speaker 1: really make a big impact on it.
- 20:07Speaker 6: But I think they have some fixes on the team,
- 20:10Speaker 6: like because.
- 20:10Speaker 2: It's a good point, but like Woodson.
- 20:12Speaker 6: The free Like I think Woodson and Hawkins are free safeties.
- 20:15Speaker 6: I think those are guys that are best used in
- 20:18Speaker 6: help defense and deep zones and ranging over the top
- 20:22Speaker 6: and that sort of thing when they're in coverage. They're
- 20:25Speaker 6: not man coverage players. So when they put Hawkins on
- 20:29Speaker 6: Dalton Kincaid, that is a mismatch, like they he's not
- 20:31Speaker 6: a man to man cover safety. So do you put
- 20:36Speaker 6: Alex Austen on the field a little bit more in
- 20:38Speaker 6: that role? Do you put Marte Mapu on the field
- 20:41Speaker 6: a little bit more in that role. Do you put
- 20:43Speaker 6: Kyle Dugger on the field a little bit more in
- 20:45Speaker 6: that role? Like they haven't really tried any of that,
- 20:49Speaker 6: Karl Davis, and so I.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Just went into any game and said, all right, this game,
- 20:53Speaker 3: we are not going to let the one or two
- 20:55Speaker 3: tight ends this team have beat us.
- 20:57Speaker 4: What are you giving?
- 20:58Speaker 3: What would this page trist team be giving up in
- 21:01Speaker 3: order to do that? What would they have to sacrifice
- 21:04Speaker 3: in order to do that?
- 21:05Speaker 1: I mean some numbers in the secondary, I mean help
- 21:07Speaker 1: over the top or you know your.
- 21:08Speaker 6: Your Yeah, I mean like maybe moving Carlon Davis inside.
- 21:13Speaker 2: That's what I was wondering about, sacrificing you if they
- 21:16Speaker 2: have thrown the corners onto a tight end to make
- 21:18Speaker 2: sure that that tight end didn't kill you, and then
- 21:20Speaker 2: maybe someone else beat you.
- 21:22Speaker 6: But maybe, I mean that's what I don't necessarily think
- 21:26Speaker 6: that you have to give up all these resources, just
- 21:29Speaker 6: like I don't think that this is Rob Gron.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I think it's been better the last couple of weeks
- 21:33Speaker 2: with Gonzo. I think it's been better. Your point about Woodson.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Those two guys are back there, and I think they've struggled.
- 21:40Speaker 2: But in my mind, I think it's reasonable to expect
- 21:46Speaker 2: Craig Woodson as a rookie who's playing every every game. Maybe,
- 21:50Speaker 2: you know, in week fifteen, he's a better player.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Now.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Maybe he hits the wall too, I get that, But
- 21:55Speaker 2: he's just starting out his career and he struggled. Maybe
- 21:59Speaker 2: he will get better as he gets more experience, and
- 22:02Speaker 2: maybe that will help with the tight ends now. And
- 22:04Speaker 2: I like that was the first thing that when you
- 22:07Speaker 2: mentioned that, like, and then Evan jumped in with the
- 22:10Speaker 2: you know there could be you know, existing players, he
- 22:13Speaker 2: might be better player, you know.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the whole five or six weeks.
- 22:18Speaker 6: He gave up one catch to Kincaid, you know, on
- 22:21Speaker 6: Sunday night in Man. But when he plays like you know,
- 22:25Speaker 6: eyes on the football and he's just allowed to kind
- 22:27Speaker 6: of see ball, get ball. I see it with him,
- 22:29Speaker 6: Like he's fast, he's physical. Uh, he can fly downhill
- 22:32Speaker 6: at the line of scrimmage. Like he's not He's not
- 22:35Speaker 6: a cover safety. He's not a guy that you're going
- 22:37Speaker 6: to line up over the slot and play man to
- 22:40Speaker 6: man against the tight end. It's just not a skill
- 22:42Speaker 6: set that's a strong suit of his. Even going back
- 22:44Speaker 6: to college. You know, watching him cover tight ends at Cal,
- 22:47Speaker 6: it wasn't necessarily a strength of his so like they
- 22:50Speaker 6: just I I look at a guy like Alex Austin,
- 22:54Speaker 6: who I know had some struggles playing on the outside
- 22:56Speaker 6: before Gonzo came back. But do you have him on
- 22:59Speaker 6: third down? It's third and eight and you know that
- 23:01Speaker 6: they're going to pass and they have a pass catching
- 23:04Speaker 6: tight end that's giving you problems like do you put
- 23:06Speaker 6: more of like a corner on him instead of putting
- 23:09Speaker 6: one of the safeties.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I also just look at their schedule, I mean, coming up,
- 23:13Speaker 1: it's not a murderer's row at tight ends. I mean,
- 23:15Speaker 1: I think Kinkaid is definitely a significant piece to think
- 23:17Speaker 1: about down the road, especially if that game meets something.
- 23:19Speaker 1: But you know, New Orleans this week Tennessee, I mean.
- 23:23Speaker 6: They haven't Joan and then Kyle Pitts is pretty.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Good Tennessee and Tennessee. Is that is the conc Yeah, yes,
- 23:32Speaker 2: he's not bad.
- 23:33Speaker 6: He's okay. I mean, but I'm with deuced like in
- 23:35Speaker 6: terms like that's not Kincaid or brock Bours like those
- 23:39Speaker 6: guys are, but in DJOKU and Kyle Pitts is.
- 23:42Speaker 1: That that's some guys with good size too. Yeah, and
- 23:44Speaker 1: then something has to consider. I'm interested in again, I'm
- 23:47Speaker 1: interested in Mafu just his size and the way he moves.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I think he could be an option. But I don't
- 23:53Speaker 1: know if we really mentioned if I mean, Kyle Duga
- 23:55Speaker 1: barely played at all last week, so you know, Julani
- 23:57Speaker 1: Tovai coming back, I wonder if that's kind of kicking
- 24:00Speaker 1: him out of that linebacker role that they were playing.
- 24:03Speaker 3: You think like the potential that they see in Woodson
- 24:06Speaker 3: made it easier for them to say, Okay, goodbye Peppers.
- 24:10Speaker 6: I think they wanted their safeties to be able to
- 24:12Speaker 6: cover the deep part of the field. They wanted more range,
- 24:16Speaker 6: more play speed. I don't think they wanted the thumbers
- 24:20Speaker 6: at that position anymore. And now you know, they've kind
- 24:24Speaker 6: of gone the opposite direction, where their safeties are playing
- 24:27Speaker 6: like fifteen twenty yards off the line of scrimmage most
- 24:30Speaker 6: of the time, and that's kind of their new thing.
- 24:33Speaker 6: You know, they play a lot more quarters, they play
- 24:35Speaker 6: a lot more too high safety, like they're not asking
- 24:38Speaker 6: the safeties to come in and fill the B gap
- 24:41Speaker 6: like they were in the Belichick defense. Like Peppers was doing. So,
- 24:45Speaker 6: you know, I just think that they this defense asks
- 24:48Speaker 6: different things out of the safeties than what the old
- 24:51Speaker 6: defense does. Now, we talked about it with Peppers, like
- 24:55Speaker 6: he might be a better player just overall than these
- 24:58Speaker 6: two guys and Woodson and Hawkins. But it is a
- 25:00Speaker 6: skill set thing to me that they like these guys
- 25:02Speaker 6: a little bit better.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Speaking of tight ends, Kyle and Pembroke writes in I
- 25:06Speaker 3: have to give love to Hunter Henry, who has the
- 25:09Speaker 3: seventeenth most catches among tight ends, but the sixth most
- 25:12Speaker 3: receiving yards and the second most touchdowns on a pace
- 25:15Speaker 3: to have eight hundred plus yards and close to ten
- 25:17Speaker 3: touchdowns this year. In my opinion, he's been the most
- 25:21Speaker 3: consistent receiver for the Patriots. So I ask you guys
- 25:24Speaker 3: to fill in the blank. Hunter Henry is a top
- 25:27Speaker 3: blank tight end in the NFL.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Twelve.
- 25:31Speaker 6: I think he's a top ten tight end in the league.
- 25:33Speaker 6: For back to back years he's been top ten and
- 25:36Speaker 6: pretty much all that.
- 25:37Speaker 2: I was going to say tennish the production was going
- 25:40Speaker 2: to cheat now blocking.
- 25:44Speaker 6: Take it or leave it with the blocking.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Maybe better with it.
- 25:47Speaker 1: But I agree with Evan if there are times where
- 25:49Speaker 1: I think that limits their offensive tiny bit, but you'll
- 25:52Speaker 1: take it because of his reliability in the passing game,
- 25:54Speaker 1: and he makes it work.
- 25:55Speaker 6: He's not the fastest guy anymore, and he gets open.
- 26:00Speaker 6: You know, he kind of has that like old man
- 26:02Speaker 6: at the y type game where he's just like doing
- 26:05Speaker 6: like he's just smarter and you know, clever and creative
- 26:08Speaker 6: with his routes because he's not running by anybody anymore
- 26:11Speaker 6: at this age, and he still finds a way to
- 26:13Speaker 6: figure it out.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Patty and Agawan. Today's is forty ninth birthday. Happy birthday.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Welcome to the club, Patty.
- 26:21Speaker 6: Sorry, Patty?
- 26:22Speaker 12: Hey, what's going on?
- 26:24Speaker 13: What's going on?
- 26:24Speaker 4: Every did you take the day off or you you
- 26:27Speaker 4: go in on your birthday?
- 26:29Speaker 13: No, I'm working today.
- 26:30Speaker 4: There you go?
- 26:31Speaker 2: And how many years has this been your forty ninth birthday?
- 26:35Speaker 12: Just the one?
- 26:36Speaker 13: PAULI, Oh, good for you. I'm glad you guys are
- 26:41Speaker 13: talking about secondary because I had a question. I don't
- 26:44Speaker 13: know if even if you've watched any film.
- 26:46Speaker 2: And maybe rarely.
- 26:50Speaker 13: Wanted to see if the Saints and deplore any eleven
- 26:53Speaker 13: personnel and if if they do end up doing that
- 26:56Speaker 13: with Cooks and Shaheed and lobby. How do you see
- 26:59Speaker 13: the wannderback matchup in this game?
- 27:01Speaker 12: And I'll take that off here.
- 27:03Speaker 13: Guys, and thank you for the birthday wishes.
- 27:04Speaker 4: All right, thank you. You can buy as much for
- 27:07Speaker 4: your birthday.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I would.
- 27:11Speaker 6: Yeah, I would guess that Marcus Jones will probably take
- 27:14Speaker 6: Shahied in this game speed on speed, and then between
- 27:20Speaker 6: the Lave and Cooks. I I don't think that you
- 27:22Speaker 6: really need to like shadow with Gonzo and Carlon Davis,
- 27:25Speaker 6: so I kind of expect them to play sides in
- 27:28Speaker 6: that respect. But you know, she plays a ton in
- 27:31Speaker 6: the slot that that's been his role, and so I'd
- 27:34Speaker 6: expect Marcus Jones to cover him the most out of everybody.
- 27:39Speaker 4: Uh, Christian in Virginia. Hey Christian, you have a lot
- 27:43Speaker 4: of Christians.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Hey?
- 27:44Speaker 14: Good, how's it going?
- 27:45Speaker 2: Hey?
- 27:46Speaker 4: Hey?
- 27:47Speaker 14: Uh So, the first thing I wanted to say was
- 27:51Speaker 14: right after that two minute drill in their game against
- 27:53Speaker 14: the Giants, that was probably the lamest call I've seen
- 27:56Speaker 14: in a while on that rough roughing the passer there. Uh,
- 28:00Speaker 14: he absolutely laid out Jackson Dart and that that was
- 28:03Speaker 14: just ridiculous. But I think we're going to crush him
- 28:05Speaker 14: this week. I'm thinking about three interceptions and it's going
- 28:10Speaker 14: to be thirty six seventeen on Patriots.
- 28:13Speaker 4: Okay, what what what play are you talking about? What game?
- 28:17Speaker 6: The end of the Saints Giants Giants.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Saint Oh yeah, yeah it was. It was rough and
- 28:23Speaker 4: that was a game deciding call, or I wouldn't call
- 28:26Speaker 4: it that.
- 28:27Speaker 14: I wasn't game deciding. But just the penalty was terrible.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Well, a lot of these penalties are terrible. It's just
- 28:34Speaker 3: the way they call it.
- 28:35Speaker 6: It's a soft call.
- 28:37Speaker 4: All right, So what was your score again?
- 28:40Speaker 2: Thirty six seventeen.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Wow, I'll take that as long as we're on the
- 28:45Speaker 3: top end. Good, good enough, thanks Christian.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Good clarification, Fred, Yeah, automn.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Man, not so much.
- 28:52Speaker 2: I want to start getting aggregated. No, you know, oh,
- 28:55Speaker 2: boss Man says they're going to get blown out. No, no, Surrey,
- 28:59Speaker 2: that's not what he'sa never never.
- 29:03Speaker 3: A lot of emails coming in Matt and Wichita writing
- 29:07Speaker 3: in about penalties. He says, they're across, they're up across
- 29:11Speaker 3: the NFL.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Good.
- 29:13Speaker 3: This season, there are seventeen point seven penalties per game
- 29:17Speaker 3: in the league. This is the highest total since twenty nineteen.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Nineteen was also an outlier in terms of penalties per game.
- 29:24Speaker 3: I was wondering if you had some insight into why
- 29:27Speaker 3: so many penalties are getting called from watching the all
- 29:30Speaker 3: twenty two each year. Some of these games are hard
- 29:32Speaker 3: to watch. There have been eight games with twenty five
- 29:35Speaker 3: or more penalties in the Dallas versus Giants game. Week
- 29:38Speaker 3: two is leading the season with thirty five penalties called.
- 29:42Speaker 3: This is all penalties called, not necessarily accepted, but each
- 29:46Speaker 3: penalty ruins the experience for the fans a bit.
- 29:51Speaker 6: I think Mike Rabel might agree with you every week.
- 29:54Speaker 6: He's got a bone to pick about some of the penalties.
- 29:57Speaker 1: I just tell us what it is to help us.
- 29:59Speaker 6: He had yesterday, Yeah, and I'm I'm with him in
- 30:03Speaker 6: terms of the volume of these like procedural penalties, these
- 30:07Speaker 6: alignment penalties.
- 30:09Speaker 2: And that's why I think penalties are up. And I
- 30:11Speaker 2: think someone in the league office has a hair across
- 30:13Speaker 2: his butt about these alignment nonsense, and he decided this
- 30:17Speaker 2: is gonna be our important thing this year. I want
- 30:18Speaker 2: you guys to crack down on it. There's even some
- 30:21Speaker 2: talk where Mike is saying, how you know they're looking
- 30:23Speaker 2: for the thumbs up and they're they're now saying, we're
- 30:26Speaker 2: not going to give you that, Like you have to
- 30:27Speaker 2: line yourself up. No one ever left a football game
- 30:30Speaker 2: and said, you know what was a mess today? Did
- 30:32Speaker 2: you see the way that tackle was lined up all day?
- 30:34Speaker 2: And they just let it go. I've never heard anyone
- 30:37Speaker 2: ever complain about the alignment. You know what's coming.
- 30:39Speaker 3: So we've already got the first down line on TV,
- 30:42Speaker 3: and we've got the line of scrimmage line. We're gonna
- 30:45Speaker 3: have the alignment line, which is going to be across
- 30:47Speaker 3: everybody's butt.
- 30:48Speaker 2: And that's it's like the tackle being you know, off
- 30:52Speaker 2: center because he's trying to get an edge with you know,
- 30:55Speaker 2: his passage, and it's you know, the alignment of the
- 30:57Speaker 2: receivers covering up the ends and the tight ends being
- 31:00Speaker 2: on the line or off the line. Who cares like this?
- 31:04Speaker 2: Two minimum on every team every game? You didn't even like.
- 31:09Speaker 2: There's also like the illegal motions, the Miami penalty, which
- 31:14Speaker 2: that sudden suddenly has to get called every time someone.
- 31:16Speaker 6: Ripes right because you know, oh, two guys are in
- 31:18Speaker 6: motion or the guy was you know, you can't motion
- 31:21Speaker 6: towards the line of scrimmage. You have to motion behind
- 31:24Speaker 6: you know, and you're motioning like jet motion. It can't be.
- 31:27Speaker 6: It can't be a running start into the soy they
- 31:30Speaker 6: now they're legislating that.
- 31:31Speaker 4: And it's just like I blame Bill Plion.
- 31:34Speaker 2: If it's post.
- 31:35Speaker 6: Snap, if it's holding, if it's if defensive pass interference,
- 31:39Speaker 6: if it's face mask like different things. Fine, but can
- 31:42Speaker 6: we just get rid of all the pre snap stuff like,
- 31:44Speaker 6: let's it's a false starter.
- 31:46Speaker 2: False starts and off side and whatever. But there's been
- 31:49Speaker 2: I've seen more guys lining up in the neutral zone
- 31:51Speaker 2: defensively this year. The alignment penalties, that's another one that
- 31:56Speaker 2: I didn't even think of that, So and just so
- 31:58Speaker 2: don't shift things.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Are you saying that you can line up in the
- 32:01Speaker 4: neutral zone.
- 32:01Speaker 6: No, I'm saying that if it's an inch off, just
- 32:04Speaker 6: let it go.
- 32:05Speaker 2: It happens all the time. Yeah, So either that or
- 32:08Speaker 2: I'm okay with it if you call it absolutely every
- 32:10Speaker 2: time it happens.
- 32:11Speaker 4: And then that'll stop it.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Right, So give me a game with fifty five penalties
- 32:16Speaker 2: because it happens all the time in every game.
- 32:18Speaker 6: Or just say, you know, Paul, you're saying like that
- 32:22Speaker 6: they can look to the ref and have them can
- 32:24Speaker 6: if it's.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Not the ref's job to a line up the guys
- 32:28Speaker 4: with you.
- 32:29Speaker 6: So if it's like you know, neutral zone infraction, which
- 32:31Speaker 6: the Patriots have had a bunch of those this year
- 32:34Speaker 6: on defense, Like do they go up to the players
- 32:37Speaker 6: at some point early on in the game and say, hey,
- 32:40Speaker 6: like you're you're pretty close, Like eventually, eventually I'm going
- 32:44Speaker 6: to have to start throwing the flag if you don't
- 32:46Speaker 6: fix it, or do they the first one they see,
- 32:49Speaker 6: because I think it's they're just throwing the flags. And
- 32:52Speaker 6: now it's the ref show and it's there like we're
- 32:54Speaker 6: just watching the Blakeman.
- 32:57Speaker 3: With both teams, where that set of ref says here's
- 33:00Speaker 3: what I'm gonna call. If you know, if you align
- 33:03Speaker 3: this way, we're gonna call this, and both teams know
- 33:06Speaker 3: this is how we're calling the game.
- 33:08Speaker 6: Well, all I know is when I watch a football game,
- 33:10Speaker 6: Carl Sheffers is the guy that I'm coming to watch,
- 33:12Speaker 6: you know, Like I'm really interested in seeing a hostile.
- 33:15Speaker 4: Favorite you know out there.
- 33:17Speaker 6: I hate all of them, Like I just think that
- 33:19Speaker 6: all of them try to insert themselves into the games
- 33:21Speaker 6: way too much, and like I'm watching this game to
- 33:24Speaker 6: watch Drake May and Josh Allen go toe to toe
- 33:26Speaker 6: on Sunday Night Football, and I have to hear about
- 33:28Speaker 6: how like the guy's like pinky toe is offside, Like
- 33:32Speaker 6: it's just it's driving me nuts, and I understand.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Or shift ones too. They'll be like multiple guys shifting
- 33:39Speaker 2: and then the guy will like he's supposed to like
- 33:42Speaker 2: go back out and then he's supposed to like stand
- 33:44Speaker 2: and get set, and then the snap happens as he's
- 33:47Speaker 2: getting set. Oh no, that's what happened. Like that, there
- 33:51Speaker 2: was only one guy moving at the snap. What's the
- 33:53Speaker 2: difference between motion and then motion as he's stopping. Oh no,
- 33:57Speaker 2: that's a penalty. So we're gonna white penalties off the boy.
- 33:59Speaker 2: We're gonna white big plays off the board. So that
- 34:01Speaker 2: Cincinnati game, it happened like a couple of times just
- 34:04Speaker 2: like that on big plays to T Higgins. Now, when
- 34:07Speaker 2: you leave a game, would you rather see the big
- 34:09Speaker 2: play to T Higgins or good job by the ref
- 34:12Speaker 2: make sure that guy's mouthpiece wasn't moving at the stat
- 34:14Speaker 2: Do you think.
- 34:15Speaker 3: It should be in the refs discretion to not call
- 34:18Speaker 3: a penalty when they think it didn't affect the play.
- 34:22Speaker 4: At all.
- 34:23Speaker 2: I wouldn't say that.
- 34:25Speaker 4: I just think that here on the other side of
- 34:29Speaker 4: the field.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I wouldn't say that because you don't know that, right,
- 34:33Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 34:34Speaker 6: I just think that they have gotten extremely nitpicky, like
- 34:37Speaker 6: it's just being called way too I think it's called
- 34:40Speaker 6: too close, too closely. And you know there's another one
- 34:43Speaker 6: the other night. You know, all the special teams penalties
- 34:46Speaker 6: are up across the board too, and they like double
- 34:48Speaker 6: teamed at device, you know, at the point of attack,
- 34:51Speaker 6: like the guy added on and they called it a
- 34:53Speaker 6: double team and he like barely touched the guy and
- 34:57Speaker 6: it was just like they were like, well, here's the
- 34:59Speaker 6: they're circling and that guy, the color guy is like,
- 35:02Speaker 6: I mean, I guess, like you know, I suppose it's like.
- 35:05Speaker 2: This is just this wasn't what was good like two
- 35:08Speaker 2: weeks ago. He just like you know, and they and
- 35:10Speaker 2: they go to the rules expert, who almost almost always
- 35:13Speaker 2: backs up whatever the call is. Yeah, and then Troy
- 35:17Speaker 2: Jess went, he goes and there was like silence for
- 35:19Speaker 2: like five seconds, and Joe Buck I think recognized that
- 35:22Speaker 2: Troy wanted to explode. I think Joe Buck recognized that
- 35:25Speaker 2: Paul Parlo was sitting there at the time, and no,
- 35:28Speaker 2: he goes, no, I can't. I can't keep my mouth
- 35:31Speaker 2: yet anymore. This is you know, he just like went
- 35:33Speaker 2: off on these calls, these picky linus scrimmage things.
- 35:37Speaker 6: And then they missed blatant ones, like in the Jacksonville
- 35:39Speaker 6: Chiefs game, the Chiefs guy just decked the Jacksonville receiver
- 35:43Speaker 6: and it was a pick. Like in Jacksonville Territory they
- 35:47Speaker 6: missed a blatant pass interference call. But then they like
- 35:50Speaker 6: will call the illegal shift on the next you know,
- 35:53Speaker 6: drive is It felt like.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Last year there was just a we were inundated with those,
- 35:56Speaker 1: like the tackle was a little too close to the
- 35:59Speaker 1: line of scrimmage. Enough back, I don't remember to twenty
- 36:02Speaker 1: of those, but I know this year a point of
- 36:05Speaker 1: emphasis was the sportsmanship and the taunting and stuff, and
- 36:08Speaker 1: I haven't really seen a lot of that stuff. You usually,
- 36:11Speaker 1: when it's a point of emphasis over the first month
- 36:13Speaker 1: of the season, you see and we go, you know,
- 36:15Speaker 1: somebody just even like puts the ball near the guy there.
- 36:17Speaker 1: But I haven't really noticed any of those. But yeah,
- 36:20Speaker 1: I'm with you, guys.
- 36:21Speaker 2: But I agree with the emailer's tone like there's just
- 36:23Speaker 2: been too many penalties.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Yeah, barryon Seong, who's a super fan and uh bid
- 36:29Speaker 3: person who knows what's going on with Patriots Nation, He says.
- 36:32Speaker 3: Patriots fans were meeting up at Dave and Busters on
- 36:35Speaker 3: Saturday at six pm down in New Orleans, and they
- 36:39Speaker 3: also have a ticketed tailgate party starting at eight am
- 36:42Speaker 3: at a lot near the Superdome. If you want more
- 36:44Speaker 3: information on that, you can go to the Patriots Tailgate
- 36:48Speaker 3: Facebook group Patriots Tailgate Facebook group for more information. David
- 36:53Speaker 3: Buster's Saturday and the eight o'clock tailgate party at the
- 37:00Speaker 3: Super Dope DNBs.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Did you go to the Super Bowl in ninety six?
- 37:03Speaker 2: The Drew one has a farn I did? I was
- 37:05Speaker 2: there as a farm I thought, so.
- 37:07Speaker 1: How was that was until the end of the game?
- 37:10Speaker 2: First quarter was great, really good kickoff? Right? Yeah, well
- 37:14Speaker 2: for three quarters it was great and then they gave
- 37:16Speaker 2: up the kick return to go down by fourteen. They
- 37:19Speaker 2: had to just sort of throw at every play Max.
- 37:21Speaker 4: Lane, Reggie White decided to Max.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Lane got killed. My boy Drew did not handle it well.
- 37:26Speaker 1: But more importantly, how was the pregame for you? Was
- 37:28Speaker 1: that your first time down there?
- 37:30Speaker 4: Were you?
- 37:30Speaker 2: That was my first time in New Orleans. Yeah, I'm
- 37:33Speaker 2: still never been. But I lost a bet. I had
- 37:37Speaker 2: to eat some of the oysters, yeah, you know, and
- 37:41Speaker 2: the crackers. Yeah, and I couldn't do it. I lost
- 37:44Speaker 2: my sister in law.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Wow, what was the bet?
- 37:47Speaker 6: My first trip to was super Bowl thirty six. This
- 37:51Speaker 6: was my first time back then. I've only went once
- 37:53Speaker 6: when I was nine years old.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Yeah, for super Bowl. That was my second super Bowl.
- 37:58Speaker 6: That was a pretty good trip.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Sick that was my second to because you went. Yeah,
- 38:03Speaker 1: you were in the ninety six too, right. Have you
- 38:05Speaker 1: been to New Orleans?
- 38:06Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 38:06Speaker 7: It's real fun. I love it, Bacherette. I was only twenty.
- 38:09Speaker 7: I had my cousin's fake ID.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Oh boy.
- 38:12Speaker 8: We my cousin's husband paid for us to have like
- 38:16Speaker 8: a car service to pick us up from the airport.
- 38:17Speaker 8: In My first memory of the city is just asking
- 38:20Speaker 8: our driver what time the bars closed, and she's like, oh, honey,
- 38:23Speaker 8: they don't.
- 38:24Speaker 7: Okay, it's gonna be fun.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it's fun.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Anything you got to do down there, Fredd, you have
- 38:28Speaker 1: traditions when you go to New Orleans? Any like spots
- 38:31Speaker 1: at nothing? Now, I mean just the regular turisty stuff
- 38:34Speaker 1: to get beads anyway possible.
- 38:36Speaker 3: Have a hurricane, you gotta watch out for those hurricanes.
- 38:40Speaker 2: A hurricane, be careful on like the third or fourth
- 38:42Speaker 2: one though, they'll come back on you the first.
- 38:45Speaker 4: Yeah, people don't. So I was a lot younger, but
- 38:49Speaker 4: people don't realize.
- 38:50Speaker 3: What's in them and everything's in a lot of fallen soldiers.
- 38:55Speaker 2: And that's when the guy threw one through his paddle
- 38:58Speaker 2: O'Brien's hurricane on the stands. When Toby Jones returned the
- 39:02Speaker 2: fumble that got called back that was going to end
- 39:05Speaker 2: the game. Was I was so sticky the rest of
- 39:08Speaker 2: the game so uncomfortable.
- 39:11Speaker 7: Pretty good.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Is actually in the stands. Yeah, so you're with like
- 39:15Speaker 2: the people you know the common film.
- 39:18Speaker 6: We sat right in the corner that David Patton got
- 39:21Speaker 6: his touchdown pass and Super Bowl thirty six.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Is right, So I was on the opposite corner, yeah,
- 39:27Speaker 2: zone opposite they got.
- 39:28Speaker 1: The drink thrown on them.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Yeah that was he was like, look at this jerk.
- 39:33Speaker 2: It was a lot darker than Yeah.
- 39:36Speaker 6: So the joke in my family is that, like I
- 39:39Speaker 6: think he did God bless America. Maybe Paul McCartney.
- 39:43Speaker 2: McCartney.
- 39:43Speaker 6: Yeah, And so my mom called, like pregame just to
- 39:47Speaker 6: like check in on my dad and I and I said, like,
- 39:49Speaker 6: some old guy was singing, and it was it was
- 39:51Speaker 6: Paul McCartney.
- 39:53Speaker 2: It was so disrespectful. I really Paul McCartney was nine.
- 40:01Speaker 2: When you were nine, would you say, like some fat
- 40:03Speaker 2: guy was like singing and dancing in Vegas or would
- 40:06Speaker 2: you say, no, Elvis was singing and dancing.
- 40:09Speaker 1: At that point, I might have been some fat guy.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:12Speaker 3: I mean those were closer to being still relevant then though.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Right when I was nine, the Beatles were huge and
- 40:20Speaker 3: Elvis was huge and Evan and I wasn't exactly.
- 40:25Speaker 8: Elvis, and I had a lot of songs in Polo
- 40:27Speaker 8: and Stitch, so I was like, Elvis is the man.
- 40:30Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm with Evans. I like I knew who you
- 40:33Speaker 6: two was, like that I knew Paul McCartney. I did
- 40:36Speaker 6: not know at all. And I honestly I was thinking
- 40:40Speaker 6: about this earlier, Like I I was so young that
- 40:43Speaker 6: like them, losing didn't even enter my realm, and like
- 40:49Speaker 6: they were such big underdogs and like me now, I
- 40:52Speaker 6: would have been like, why am I wasting all this money?
- 40:54Speaker 6: To go watch them get killed by the Rams, and
- 40:57Speaker 6: it never even like entered my my realm possibilities that
- 41:00Speaker 6: they would actually lose that game. As a nine year old.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Said, it's gonna be seventy to nothing, seventy two to three.
- 41:06Speaker 6: Really good predictions by Ron Borgees.
- 41:08Speaker 1: What come on, Ron, what are we doing?
- 41:11Speaker 3: What?
- 41:12Speaker 6: He's really good?
- 41:12Speaker 1: Too much?
- 41:13Speaker 4: Too much?
- 41:14Speaker 1: Didn't you see the game when the Patriots proved that
- 41:16Speaker 1: they could hang with the Rams in the middle of
- 41:18Speaker 1: the season, the game.
- 41:20Speaker 3: All right back to the phones eight five to five
- 41:22Speaker 3: pass five hundred Todds in North Carolina.
- 41:24Speaker 15: Hey todd, Hey guys, great show.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 41:29Speaker 15: I wondering if you guys were poking around, well the
- 41:32Speaker 15: guys would do the do the poking stuff like Evan
- 41:35Speaker 15: and maybe somebody like you know, Clyde Edwards, Tolar or
- 41:39Speaker 15: somebody that they could five gem somewhere that might have
- 41:41Speaker 15: something left in the tank, just to I'm kind of
- 41:44Speaker 15: worried about our you know, just the platooning of the
- 41:47Speaker 15: running backs. I really think they need to swap them
- 41:50Speaker 15: out to make them most efficient because it's just you know,
- 41:54Speaker 15: we don't want hurt. Then the fumbles come back for
- 41:58Speaker 15: the other then we're in trouble. So yeah, just you know,
- 42:02Speaker 15: is there anybody out there that you can think of?
- 42:06Speaker 1: He was saying some standard names, but I mean, if
- 42:08Speaker 1: they have there's always running backs available in terms of.
- 42:11Speaker 2: But I agree with Todd, they they probably will. We'll
- 42:14Speaker 2: sign someone at some point. Yeah, I think you need
- 42:16Speaker 2: some later of depth.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Evan and I were talking about Terrell Jennings kind of
- 42:21Speaker 1: talking like I'm up, but it's not that hard to
- 42:24Speaker 1: imagine that he's up, but he ain't touching the ball.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Or up for this week, right, and then they're going
- 42:28Speaker 2: to figure out, you know, I think they had some
- 42:30Speaker 2: in for workouts this week. They signed one for the
- 42:32Speaker 2: practice squad. Yeah, you know, maybe someone like I mean,
- 42:35Speaker 2: I don't know if Edwards Olaio would make the most sense,
- 42:38Speaker 2: but you know, like we keep talking about Gus.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Edwards, Yeah, Gus Buss or you know, Zach Moss or
- 42:43Speaker 1: Ezekiel Elliott.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Those guys are you know that that I think are
- 42:46Speaker 2: more reliable as traditional ball carriers between the tackles, you know,
- 42:50Speaker 2: first down, hold onto the ball kind of types.
- 42:53Speaker 1: I like his point of you know is remandree back
- 42:56Speaker 1: up now with heavy volume, and this is a game
- 42:59Speaker 1: where I'm telling you you can't turn the ball over.
- 43:01Speaker 1: That's that their route to victory. And there's a little
- 43:05Speaker 1: pressure on him and there, yeah, right tomorrow, Davis, Davis.
- 43:09Speaker 6: Yeah, but they I mean just statistically, their running backs
- 43:13Speaker 6: are the worst in the league, Like they're the worst
- 43:15Speaker 6: at breaking tackles, are the worst at yards after contact.
- 43:19Speaker 6: They have not gotten outside of Remandre in Miami, they
- 43:24Speaker 6: have really not gotten great production out of the running
- 43:27Speaker 6: backs at all. So it's not just that they need bodies,
- 43:30Speaker 6: like they might need an upgrade, like they might need
- 43:32Speaker 6: somebody better, and that's probably a next offseason thing. But
- 43:37Speaker 6: you know, if one of these running backs on you know,
- 43:39Speaker 6: veteran running backs on the failing team, Alvin Kamara, Derrick Henry,
- 43:43Speaker 6: you know, name a bunch of them, Like if one
- 43:47Speaker 6: of those guys does end up getting on the block
- 43:49Speaker 6: at the trade deadline, like I wouldn't be surprised if
- 43:51Speaker 6: you're seven and three at the trade deadline, you know,
- 43:54Speaker 6: do you make a move like that?
- 43:56Speaker 4: I mean, maybe that's the play.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Like to your point, Paul of let's see, give Jennings
- 44:00Speaker 1: little chance just to see, but let's wait till some
- 44:02Speaker 1: of these guys the price is gonna come down and
- 44:04Speaker 1: teams will start to be sellers with.
- 44:06Speaker 2: And if Baltimore, you know, if Jackson doesn't come back, yeah,
- 44:09Speaker 2: I don't think he's playing this week again, So I
- 44:11Speaker 2: think they're gonna lose again, you know. So if he
- 44:13Speaker 2: doesn't come back and they're two and six at the
- 44:16Speaker 2: trade deadline, maybe they would. But yeah, right now, I
- 44:19Speaker 2: still look at Baltimore is saying to themselves, we got
- 44:22Speaker 2: to buy something. We got to find a way to
- 44:24Speaker 2: win a game or two. We'll get our personnel back
- 44:26Speaker 2: and then the second half of the season, we're capable
- 44:29Speaker 2: of going eight to no down the stretch because they are. Yeah,
- 44:32Speaker 2: so I would be surprised, But another loss of two,
- 44:36Speaker 2: you never know, they might go the other way and
- 44:38Speaker 2: just say it's not happening this year. We're two banged up.
- 44:41Speaker 1: And I don't know, move on not a Beak I
- 44:43Speaker 1: think is out.
- 44:43Speaker 2: He's out for the year. Y I But like Smith,
- 44:46Speaker 2: Kyle Hambleton, Hamilton, Marlon Humphrey, I don't think those guys
- 44:52Speaker 2: are out for the for the season. They've just been missing.
- 44:57Speaker 2: State Wagans I think has also been out.
- 44:59Speaker 3: Email and wants know any word on episode four, Forge
- 45:02Speaker 3: and Foxborough.
- 45:03Speaker 4: Stay tuned, Stay tuned. That's all I can tell you.
- 45:09Speaker 4: Let's see. Oh, this is an interesting one.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Tanaka writ sin, I've been impressed by the Pewed team's
- 45:20Speaker 3: ability to analyze and review the team's talent strength capabilities
- 45:23Speaker 3: in matchups to justify and predict outcomes. This in Ai,
- 45:27Speaker 3: Paul's belief that the Patriots would defeat the Bills was impressive,
- 45:30Speaker 3: albeit in a different way than he predicted. Tight Pants
- 45:33Speaker 3: Evan goes into exhausting details, articulating detailed reasons why an
- 45:38Speaker 3: offensive or defensive style or play calling scheme might prevail. However,
- 45:43Speaker 3: it's Fred that shines. He suddenly integrates decades of experience
- 45:47Speaker 3: and team history into a gut feeling. His clarity of
- 45:50Speaker 3: thought and purpose is best summarized by this exchange on Tuesday, Fred,
- 45:55Speaker 3: if Henry was available, would you get him?
- 45:56Speaker 2: Evan?
- 45:57Speaker 4: I mean it depends what for Fred to run the ball? Fred,
- 46:02Speaker 4: you are no idiot savant.
- 46:03Speaker 3: You exemplify wisdom and understanding beyond your years. I look
- 46:06Speaker 3: forward to your picks today, Pu team, your great work.
- 46:09Speaker 4: My pick.
- 46:10Speaker 3: Unfortunately, the Patriots will be flat this week due to
- 46:12Speaker 3: the heady win in the Broke Back Buffalo game, self
- 46:16Speaker 3: inflicted unforced errors will be too difficult to overcome. Twenty
- 46:20Speaker 3: four to thirteen.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Oh wow, the loss very disappointing.
- 46:24Speaker 6: Twenty four to thirteen. Yeah, oh gosh, they only score
- 46:27Speaker 6: thirteen points.
- 46:28Speaker 1: That would be Oh you sound a little like Brady
- 46:30Speaker 1: and super.
- 46:31Speaker 4: Far a lot of He says a lot of mistakes.
- 46:33Speaker 2: They make a lot of mistakes. I mean, they only
- 46:35Speaker 2: scored twenty three not making a lot of mistakes last week.
- 46:37Speaker 2: If they made a lot of mistakes like the Giants did,
- 46:41Speaker 2: I don't see it happening. I just you guys are
- 46:43Speaker 2: trying to convince me. I just don't see it with
- 46:45Speaker 2: this team. They're not very good. Okay, they're not.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Steve Wright, Sat Paul, you learned a lot of cool
- 46:51Speaker 3: points about earth wind and Fire and you can go
- 46:54Speaker 3: you can't go wrong with funk music.
- 46:56Speaker 4: Fred Prince had the best halftime show.
- 46:58Speaker 3: I know it's subjective, but he played the whole set
- 47:00Speaker 3: and high heels in the rain.
- 47:03Speaker 4: True.
- 47:05Speaker 2: I would totally agree with Princes. The Prince halftime show was.
- 47:07Speaker 4: It was a good show.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Elite see people.
- 47:11Speaker 4: Prince got sneaky.
- 47:13Speaker 3: He got away with something very sneakily in that halftime show.
- 47:17Speaker 3: So that was on the cusp of the the whole
- 47:22Speaker 3: Timberlake thing and all that, and they wanted, you know, Prince,
- 47:26Speaker 3: he's a wildcard.
- 47:27Speaker 4: You don't know what he's gonna do.
- 47:28Speaker 3: So I remember before, you know, and when they announced him,
- 47:32Speaker 3: they said, you know, they made sure that they talked
- 47:34Speaker 3: to him about you know, this is a family thing.
- 47:36Speaker 4: You gotta you gotta you know, you can't do anything.
- 47:41Speaker 9: Prince.
- 47:41Speaker 4: He agreed to that and everything.
- 47:43Speaker 3: But if you remember, during his performance, he had a
- 47:47Speaker 3: guitar that was like a horn, like a devil's tail,
- 47:51Speaker 3: and he positioned himself with that white screen where it
- 47:56Speaker 3: was coming out of him.
- 47:57Speaker 4: In such a way.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Absolutely he was doing that on purpose. Absolutely, go back
- 48:03Speaker 3: and watch.
- 48:04Speaker 2: I'm not dismissing you. Oh sure, no one.
- 48:07Speaker 4: Said a word, but he got away with it. He
- 48:09Speaker 4: got away with it.
- 48:10Speaker 6: I'm very interested to hear about the reactions to Bad Bunny,
- 48:13Speaker 6: because I have a feeling that that's going to hit
- 48:16Speaker 6: one very specific target demographic and the rest of the
- 48:19Speaker 6: people watching the Super Bowl are going to be like,
- 48:21Speaker 6: who the heck is this guy?
- 48:22Speaker 3: They already are so, I mean, like half some people
- 48:25Speaker 3: will love it and some people will hate it.
- 48:27Speaker 2: It's one of my favorite things about the Super Bowl
- 48:30Speaker 2: is I go on Twitter as the halftime thing and
- 48:33Speaker 2: I get fifty like visceral hatred and fifty visceral that's
- 48:38Speaker 2: the greatest thing I've ever seen right away. And I
- 48:41Speaker 2: always say, I guess they got it right, right? You
- 48:44Speaker 2: elicited a response.
- 48:45Speaker 1: I literally could not care. I mean whatever, whoever plays great,
- 48:52Speaker 1: it's just not for me. But isn't Bad Bunny like
- 48:54Speaker 1: he collabs with a lot of I love Bad Bunny.
- 48:57Speaker 8: I don't know how much collabbing he does, but I
- 48:59Speaker 8: don't know if you don't like Spanish music and you
- 49:01Speaker 8: can't really bop to it, like can you get down
- 49:04Speaker 8: to anything?
- 49:06Speaker 6: I like Bad Bunny too, but I know.
- 49:09Speaker 7: That music it's going to be like I don't know.
- 49:12Speaker 2: It's really funny and happy. Gilmore too, I did great
- 49:15Speaker 2: in that he was he was he was great.
- 49:18Speaker 4: Thought Bad Bunny was a clothing line.
- 49:20Speaker 2: I really this is.
- 49:25Speaker 6: Least like I feel like, you know, because of the
- 49:28Speaker 6: beef with Drake, especially to like he was popular enough
- 49:31Speaker 6: that that like everybody kind of knows who he is.
- 49:35Speaker 6: I think Bad Bunny is pretty niche like that for
- 49:37Speaker 6: a Super Bowl halftime show.
- 49:38Speaker 8: At least he's like one of the biggest that's like
- 49:41Speaker 8: the American bubble though, Like he's one of the biggest
- 49:43Speaker 8: artists in the world. And if you're trying to expand
- 49:47Speaker 8: to it, that's how you pull people into the game
- 49:50Speaker 8: because they don't understand what's going on.
- 49:52Speaker 7: Bad Bunny is playing the halftime.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Show, That's why they're doing it. Alex, You just and
- 49:57Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 49:57Speaker 8: It's just fun dance music. Like at our Christmas party,
- 50:00Speaker 8: Fred was dancing to Bad Bunny. I saw it with
- 50:02Speaker 8: my own eyes.
- 50:02Speaker 7: I don't even know. I even know doesn't realize rhythm exactly.
- 50:10Speaker 2: I got when the rhythm takes over. Fred's body is
- 50:15Speaker 2: going on this conversation.
- 50:16Speaker 7: And like, I don't know, I don't really speak Spanish.
- 50:19Speaker 8: When I grew up with Daddy Yankee, like millennials said,
- 50:21Speaker 8: Daddy Yankee, I would.
- 50:22Speaker 4: Never I would never buy a music.
- 50:24Speaker 3: But Gloria Estefant, let's go just Mike and I.
- 50:28Speaker 2: What you have rhythm is, let's let's good. You know that.
- 50:33Speaker 4: And I love house music.
- 50:35Speaker 7: Yeah, a good beat is a good beat. And if
- 50:38Speaker 7: you if you like to dance, and.
- 50:40Speaker 4: Sure, I mean I don't.
- 50:42Speaker 1: I like to dance, but I don't usually just stand
- 50:44Speaker 1: up in the middle of the sad Super Bowl halftime
- 50:46Speaker 1: and be like, all right, let's go.
- 50:48Speaker 2: I'm getting like that's when I'm getting around two of
- 50:52Speaker 2: feeding myself to it.
- 50:54Speaker 4: When it was and.
- 50:58Speaker 2: That was a performance that was a little different. Yeah,
- 51:02Speaker 2: to be honest with you, I did.
- 51:03Speaker 4: Paul had to excuse himself.
- 51:04Speaker 2: I didn't really in all honestly, I didn't really. I
- 51:08Speaker 2: didn't really watch it to be honest.
- 51:11Speaker 1: Too much. But I didn't you close your eyes.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Ministers knows that jay Loo and I have a thing.
- 51:19Speaker 2: She knows that she was singing to mekra Is.
- 51:23Speaker 7: Shakira is one of my like if I could, I
- 51:25Speaker 7: love my life.
- 51:26Speaker 8: But that's someone I would be like, Okay, I would
- 51:28Speaker 8: trade Shakira.
- 51:30Speaker 7: She can do it all your hips, won't lie sing dance.
- 51:33Speaker 2: Hugh Jackman, Yeah, you'd like to be huge as has
- 51:36Speaker 2: everything exceptionally well the Wolverine.
- 51:39Speaker 4: Yeah, and he Broadway dance dances.
- 51:41Speaker 2: He sang.
- 51:41Speaker 1: I hated that mister talent and movie angered me. I
- 51:45Speaker 1: hated it so much. Which one the greatest showman.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't say anything about the like the movies themselves.
- 51:51Speaker 1: I'm talking about what he sings in that one's the
- 51:53Speaker 1: same song over and over and over again.
- 51:56Speaker 2: Sorry, that's an unbelievable range of Justin Timberlake. Yeah, an
- 52:00Speaker 2: incredible range. I'm not talking about that. I'm just talking
- 52:05Speaker 2: about the talent, like a range of talent that's not
- 52:09Speaker 2: everybody has.
- 52:09Speaker 1: What we're talking about. Jason Bateman too. Of just I
- 52:11Speaker 1: mean strictly acting talent, but the range to do great comedy.
- 52:15Speaker 1: It's really super dark.
- 52:17Speaker 2: You know.
- 52:17Speaker 1: There's not a lot of actors like that with that
- 52:18Speaker 1: kind of range.
- 52:20Speaker 3: Christopher Walken, Yeah, great, great, and he can sing and
- 52:23Speaker 3: dance brown eggs.
- 52:24Speaker 1: But some of those guys, I feel like they're almost
- 52:27Speaker 1: comedic actors playing their dramatic self, but they almost make
- 52:30Speaker 1: it a caricature of what they do.
- 52:32Speaker 2: You know, Yeah, he plays a character for himself.
- 52:35Speaker 1: Now there's there's a shoot.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Who's that that bunny? You could play every song that
- 52:39Speaker 2: he's ever recorded, and I would never heard any of them, Like,
- 52:43Speaker 2: I would have no recollection. It might especially you know,
- 52:47Speaker 2: Alex when Paula gets a Miller White great great chair.
- 52:52Speaker 4: Dancer, Chris and England. We definitely should not try and
- 52:58Speaker 4: sign Derrick Henry.
- 53:00Speaker 3: It would mean a change to Mike's locker room song, right,
- 53:02Speaker 3: there would then be someone who does.
- 53:04Speaker 1: And no one of them looks like Derek Henry.
- 53:06Speaker 2: We just put a little editing.
- 53:09Speaker 4: Actually, it's just hard.
- 53:11Speaker 7: To imagine that the Ravens would, yeah, let go of him.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Yeah, And that's what I keep saying it, But everybody
- 53:16Speaker 2: keeps suggesting it. And I'm like, well, maybe if they
- 53:19Speaker 2: lost another game or two and they're out of it and
- 53:21Speaker 2: they feel like they're like there's still.
- 53:24Speaker 8: Just like hold on till next year, and be like
- 53:26Speaker 8: we just still have incredible talent, like the Hops Windows.
- 53:30Speaker 8: Probably you only have so much longer with him, like
- 53:33Speaker 8: run it back one more year.
- 53:35Speaker 2: I know what I would do.
- 53:36Speaker 8: Yeah, that feels so shortsighted to me.
- 53:40Speaker 1: I know, it's hard, Like.
- 53:42Speaker 7: The Ravens are too good of an organization.
- 53:43Speaker 2: Also, and I wish I had the numbers. I saw
- 53:46Speaker 2: someone tweet them out. But there's like extensive first down
- 53:50Speaker 2: numbers for him this year, Like he just hasn't been
- 53:52Speaker 2: the same guy. He has a couple of big runs,
- 53:56Speaker 2: which if made the numbers look much better than they are,
- 53:59Speaker 2: but he's been kind of tied up like to like
- 54:02Speaker 2: three point three a carry between the tackles he's getting. Yeah, yeah,
- 54:09Speaker 2: I mean yeah, yeah, he's an outlier. He's one of
- 54:11Speaker 2: the few that has remained as productive as he is,
- 54:14Speaker 2: you know, as the pie. Yeah, as the carries about the.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Running backs when you get to thirty And it's true,
- 54:21Speaker 3: it's hard, you know, Emmett Smith was an outlier, Curtis
- 54:24Speaker 3: Martin was an outlier, but there's not a lot of.
- 54:27Speaker 8: Them, especially that big like you're carrying that munch of
- 54:29Speaker 8: weight on your fame, how much it takes it.
- 54:31Speaker 1: Well proportioned, Alex though he can handle it, don't worry.
- 54:33Speaker 2: Okay, if you want to know what that proportion looks like,
- 54:37Speaker 2: just ask Mike and he has it.
- 54:40Speaker 1: No, no, But I think it's an interesting position though
- 54:44Speaker 1: for the Ravens. And you know, you said, Alex, there
- 54:46Speaker 1: you know organization that's really done it right, has stayed
- 54:49Speaker 1: in the upper echelon for so long, and you know,
- 54:52Speaker 1: maybe this is just that one year like we talk about,
- 54:53Speaker 1: where you get hammered with injuries and you know, but
- 54:56Speaker 1: you also have to be honest with yourself and say,
- 54:58Speaker 1: you know, are we still ascending and at the top
- 55:01Speaker 1: of the heap, or do we need to maybe shift
- 55:03Speaker 1: a little bit? And you know, this Derrick Henry iteration
- 55:06Speaker 1: was fun, but that's really going to probably flame out
- 55:09Speaker 1: sooner than later. Let's use this opportunity in this year.
- 55:12Speaker 1: Do we do randomly have a bad year to take
- 55:14Speaker 1: advantage of the draft, maybe move some assets and try
- 55:17Speaker 1: to reset a little bit. You know, the Patriots kind
- 55:20Speaker 1: of did it in twenty twenty after you know, Brady left,
- 55:23Speaker 1: you know, for whatever reasons you want to believe.
- 55:24Speaker 2: But I just think it's.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Hard for an organization to look at themselves in the
- 55:29Speaker 1: mirror and say, we've got Lamar Jackson, who you know,
- 55:31Speaker 1: was an MVP candidate, and we have a lot of pieces.
- 55:34Speaker 1: But at the same time, is it you know, are
- 55:36Speaker 1: we still fresh? Are we still on the cutting edges?
- 55:38Speaker 1: It's still going up if we bring everybody back next
- 55:40Speaker 1: year after this year.
- 55:40Speaker 2: And the defense was not playing well before the injuries. Yeah,
- 55:44Speaker 2: like the defense now is in shambles, but it opened
- 55:47Speaker 2: the season by giving up forty one Yeah.
- 55:49Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, let's quickly get to some phone calls
- 55:52Speaker 3: and then we got to take a break. We want
- 55:53Speaker 3: to hear that bar more interview. Yeah, so quickly, Mike
- 55:57Speaker 3: and Puerto Rico.
- 56:00Speaker 15: Hey, how you guys mentioned this?
- 56:03Speaker 16: Hey, do you want a quick take on bad Bunny?
- 56:06Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 56:08Speaker 13: Okay.
- 56:09Speaker 16: So, as as a Puerto Rican, I can honestly tell
- 56:12Speaker 16: you that his earlier works had some objective lyrics of
- 56:19Speaker 16: stuff that I don't necessarily agree with, but his last
- 56:22Speaker 16: album is actually an ode to Puerto Rican and Latino culture,
- 56:26Speaker 16: and I think that's probably what drove the decisions for
- 56:30Speaker 16: the halftime show, because it just blew up. And in
- 56:34Speaker 16: that aspect, Paul, did you say you don't like any
- 56:37Speaker 16: bad Bunny songs?
- 56:38Speaker 15: So you don't know.
- 56:38Speaker 2: Any bad Bunny song? I've never heard one.
- 56:42Speaker 16: I'll make you a bet, my friend, if you listen
- 56:44Speaker 16: to the halftime show completely and you tell me I
- 56:47Speaker 16: heard none of those songs, I will get you a
- 56:50Speaker 16: case of what is it?
- 56:51Speaker 2: Light Miller like, Yeah, you don't have to, because I
- 56:55Speaker 2: tell you right now, I never heard them.
- 56:59Speaker 4: I don't think I have any there.
- 57:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I know I have. Like Kendrick Lamar,
- 57:02Speaker 2: I knew that I knew of a handful of songs
- 57:05Speaker 2: that I was that's a Kendrick. I don't know what
- 57:07Speaker 2: they all are I certainly don't know the words, but
- 57:10Speaker 2: I heard the songs.
- 57:12Speaker 4: Right, you know.
- 57:12Speaker 3: So I don't listen to music on the radio, so
- 57:16Speaker 3: I wouldn't even be exposed to it. But I could
- 57:19Speaker 3: say the same thing about Bad Bunny, and then I
- 57:20Speaker 3: could say pretty much any popular music. Now I don't
- 57:23Speaker 3: listen to any of it. So I because I'm listening
- 57:26Speaker 3: to sports radio, and yeah, when I have the radio one,
- 57:29Speaker 3: I don't listen to music anymore.
- 57:31Speaker 4: I should, I should listen to more music.
- 57:33Speaker 2: In the studio the other day and said, hey, you
- 57:35Speaker 2: listening to Eminem?
- 57:36Speaker 3: You know him, I know his sound, I know Eminem,
- 57:39Speaker 3: I know Eminem, but.
- 57:41Speaker 2: So and that would be too like if I probably
- 57:43Speaker 2: if I heard a song, I would maybe say to myself,
- 57:46Speaker 2: this must be Bad Bunny. Yeah, the style, you know,
- 57:49Speaker 2: obviously it's in Spanish. Spanish.
- 57:52Speaker 3: Marks in Connecticut, what's up, Mark?
- 57:59Speaker 5: I missed the trying to get a hold of you
- 58:00Speaker 5: guys on the post game, just to say what a
- 58:03Speaker 5: crazy second half it was for the Patriots. And it's
- 58:06Speaker 5: great to see them, you know, finally clicking on all cylinders.
- 58:09Speaker 15: Now we're looking pretty good.
- 58:11Speaker 13: But the other thing I wanted to say is I noticed.
- 58:14Speaker 5: Efton Chisholm was wearing the number twelve jersey at practice yesterday,
- 58:18Speaker 5: and I wanted to get your guys's take on why
- 58:20Speaker 5: he was wearing that. You know, we're going to get
- 58:22Speaker 5: this kid finally active on game day and onto the field.
- 58:26Speaker 2: What number is Chris O?
- 58:28Speaker 4: Thanks Mark, number twelve.
- 58:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why was wearing on the scout team.
- 58:35Speaker 1: It's interesting. Now it's a subtle I mean, it doesn't
- 58:37Speaker 1: really mean much, but you know, in the past they
- 58:39Speaker 1: had pennies and guys would get to the start of
- 58:41Speaker 1: practice wearing their jersey and then they put on like
- 58:43Speaker 1: a yellow pullover with the number twelve one, and now
- 58:45Speaker 1: they're just wearing the standard practice chers.
- 58:47Speaker 3: I wanted to play just because his name allows you
- 58:52Speaker 3: to be both happy and mad. So if he has
- 58:54Speaker 3: a good game, eften Chislm, and if he has a
- 58:56Speaker 3: bad game, eften chism Right, it works both ways.
- 59:01Speaker 2: It's good. Yeah.
- 59:02Speaker 1: The third the third too?
- 59:04Speaker 2: Brilliance or fred Dance in New Jersey?
- 59:06Speaker 4: What's up?
- 59:07Speaker 12: Dan? Hey? It was this brad Bunny, bad bad Bunny,
- 59:20Speaker 12: bad Bunny. So what's the What's what's Rex Burkhart doing
- 59:24Speaker 12: these days?
- 59:26Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah, bring him back.
- 59:29Speaker 1: Fred's long lost cousin here James Devlin's around, although.
- 59:36Speaker 12: I'm assuming anyway, so I don't watch too many Saints games,
- 59:42Speaker 12: but I guess was it Taysom Hill?
- 59:45Speaker 2: Was he back?
- 59:46Speaker 12: Or is he a fact? We don't have to worry
- 59:49Speaker 12: about him, you know, either quarter a little bit quarter back?
- 59:53Speaker 4: Yeah, short yardage stuff.
- 59:55Speaker 1: They had him throw pass. It was last week of
- 59:57Speaker 1: the week before, so you're doing the same thing he
- 59:59Speaker 1: usually does. Come in and yeah, you know they'll stack
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: the line, and.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: I think you do have to worry about him.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it's such a change of pace that you have
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: to be ready, you and I think you have to
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: have a package ready, and I'm sure Rabel does for
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: when he's in the game.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: I would just say, don't get beat by him, you know,
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: on a on a like letting him throw or letting
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: him you know, there's gonna be a lot of short
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: stuff in this game. So it's just one of those
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: where you got to force them to execute, come up
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: and tackle and get to you know, your third and
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: five's and make them get that. And even if it's
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Taysom Hill in a third and two and you know,
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: I just I want to see them a young quarterback
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: like Rattler without a lot of experience, force him to
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: execute keep you know, just don't give up the big plays.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: He wants to take the little stuff, fine, but don't.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Just don't give up the big plays and certainly don't
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: give him extra possesions.

- 1:02:58Speaker 1: or I should stay in the bubble today, right, Yeah?
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: So Christian, I got to say, like, you look like
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: you're feeling pretty good out there on the field to me.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: But you know, how are you feeling after last year
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: being out there, you know, six games under your belt?
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Now here in twenty twenty five.
- 1:03:10Speaker 9: Oh man, I'm feeling really like this is the best
- 1:03:12Speaker 9: I've ever been in I feel like, you know, just
- 1:03:16Speaker 9: feeling like myself and the confidence just up to the
- 1:03:18Speaker 9: sky roof and I'm feeling really good. You know, I
- 1:03:21Speaker 9: love it. I love my team, I love the coaches,
- 1:03:22Speaker 9: I love my mom, you know, my treatment staff and
- 1:03:25Speaker 9: just everything everything is doing good.
- 1:03:27Speaker 6: Christian. You said in the spring or maybe the summertime,
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: you're down a few lbs these days to try to
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: play more aggressive in this defense. Just how have you
- 1:03:36Speaker 6: felt that help you? Because I know this defense a
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: lot of it. It's about get off in that first step.
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: Has that helped you in that regard?
- 1:03:42Speaker 9: Oh yeah, man, literally definitely. You know my goal is
- 1:03:45Speaker 9: really like you know, my game is all about, like
- 1:03:47Speaker 9: you know, just fast off the ball when the ball snapped,
- 1:03:49Speaker 9: you know, because my goal is you know, I got
- 1:03:51Speaker 9: long goings, my tall guy. So you know, I don't
- 1:03:54Speaker 9: like being so close to the ring. I like backing
- 1:03:55Speaker 9: off the ball because I know if I get close
- 1:03:57Speaker 9: to the ball, if I do this, like my arms
- 1:03:59Speaker 9: not locked out, how's supposed to be my owns would
- 1:04:01Speaker 9: be cocked like this and it'd be bad positions. So, like,
- 1:04:04Speaker 9: you know, my goals every time before that ball, you know,
- 1:04:07Speaker 9: God be careful because you don't want to jump off side.
- 1:04:08Speaker 9: It be a lot of cadence. So it's like, you know,
- 1:04:10Speaker 9: I'll be time of the ball. It's just really like
- 1:04:12Speaker 9: you know, my goals, like when I get my hands
- 1:04:13Speaker 9: on you lock out? Is this hard to start? So
- 1:04:15Speaker 9: that literally that's like that every time.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: When you drive, Holy call right off the bat man.
- 1:04:19Speaker 9: I just you know, I just hope everybody's seeing what
- 1:04:21Speaker 9: I'm seeing because you know, I would never tell a
- 1:04:22Speaker 9: guy make excuses and all this, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:04:24Speaker 9: But it's like like, man, come on now, I was like,
- 1:04:26Speaker 9: I ain't falling for no reason, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:04:28Speaker 9: But it's just like, you know, hold on, you know
- 1:04:30Speaker 9: that's you know, God, just how can I see it?
- 1:04:32Speaker 9: It's like I hate it, but I really do hate
- 1:04:37Speaker 9: it because you know, especially when you work hard so
- 1:04:39Speaker 9: much and you do your moves how you want.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: It, then you guys do that.
- 1:04:42Speaker 9: Yeah, you know, it's annoying, but it's just about like,
- 1:04:44Speaker 9: you know, really just got to get off faster. That's
- 1:04:46Speaker 9: all I can say. Just like, get the guy off
- 1:04:48Speaker 9: me faster, and just make sure that they can clearly
- 1:04:50Speaker 9: see you.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: You know that game, you were all over the place.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: You were just disruptive the whole night. Did it all
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: kind of it felt like it all kind of came
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: together for you guys in that game.
- 1:04:58Speaker 9: Yeah. Man, literally, I feel like, you know, just like
- 1:05:00Speaker 9: all but we practiced really hard, like you know, just
- 1:05:02Speaker 9: like how we're doing this week. You know, we just
- 1:05:04Speaker 9: we dialed in. You know, my god Digs, you know,
- 1:05:07Speaker 9: he just turned me up all the time. Man, I
- 1:05:09Speaker 9: love his energy. You know my deeps line Milton, everybody
- 1:05:13Speaker 9: Clint all of us. You know, Rays were telling us, like,
- 1:05:15Speaker 9: you know, just a prime time game. We're going to
- 1:05:17Speaker 9: come in everybody decimated us, you know, with the underdogs.
- 1:05:20Speaker 9: And you know when we first got in there, the
- 1:05:21Speaker 9: crowd was crazy. You know, people were talking smack and
- 1:05:24Speaker 9: you know, it's just like that stuff right there, it
- 1:05:26Speaker 9: motivates you. You know what I'm saying, motivate you play
- 1:05:28Speaker 9: even harder. But like, you know, stuff like that, I
- 1:05:30Speaker 9: love it.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: Like you know, we spent all off season talking about
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: when Milton got here, and we're like, my god, imagine
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Barmore and Milton Williams on the inside, and like watching
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: that game, it's like this is it coming to fruition?
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: What's it like playing with a player like that qu
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: can do so much damage inside?
- 1:05:44Speaker 9: Man, it's amazing because we always say, like people somebody
- 1:05:47Speaker 9: they want to choose one who won't we won't slove to,
- 1:05:49Speaker 9: you know, and who want we give? You know what
- 1:05:51Speaker 9: I'm saying, You know what I'm saying. It's just been
- 1:05:54Speaker 9: really good man, because like you know, that guy, like
- 1:05:56Speaker 9: he's a he's a hell of a player and just
- 1:05:59Speaker 9: like you know, but you know, we got a lot
- 1:06:00Speaker 9: of got him TONGUEA you know what I'm saying, Josh,
- 1:06:03Speaker 9: And you know, it's a lot of guys on the
- 1:06:04Speaker 9: front seven. It's just doing our parts and it's just like,
- 1:06:07Speaker 9: you know, it's just about like we just dogs, you know,
- 1:06:09Speaker 9: we just could keep going hard, just keep being grinded
- 1:06:11Speaker 9: every day.
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: You mentioned Diggs in that answer just second ago. We
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: see him. You know, we have the cameras on him
- 1:06:17Speaker 6: pre game, in the huddle and everything like that. But
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: what kind of leader is he? And what are the
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: things that he says to you?
- 1:06:22Speaker 9: I got Digs Man, It's just like the type of
- 1:06:25Speaker 9: guy that he shows and lead by example. And I
- 1:06:27Speaker 9: like that about him, Like you know, he talking smack
- 1:06:29Speaker 9: and he will show it and I respect that because
- 1:06:32Speaker 9: you know, just I love his energy and I just
- 1:06:34Speaker 9: like every time you know, gang grow on locker on,
- 1:06:36Speaker 9: he'd be the first one yell and I love it,
- 1:06:38Speaker 9: like I love when people yell like that because it
- 1:06:40Speaker 9: turns turn it turned, it turns to turns through different
- 1:06:43Speaker 9: mindset and I love it. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:06:45Speaker 9: I love how his odds be looking. It's just because
- 1:06:47Speaker 9: like you know, we could see like the pain and
- 1:06:50Speaker 9: it's just like, how how hard you know? We like
- 1:06:52Speaker 9: we like we love this game. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:06:54Speaker 9: I just love how he just like, you know, hype
- 1:06:56Speaker 9: us up like that. I love it.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely big tackle you guys on Shaki. Counted six
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: guys getting shot on shakiir on the ground, and that
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: to me just said this defense.
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: They're playing together.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: But you guys are all just rallying to the ball,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: playing with that aggressive style of Mike Rabel, with his
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: effort and finish.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: It was all over the tape. You know.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: How do you feel like you guys are all fitting
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: into this new system? Mike Rabel's back here.
- 1:07:15Speaker 9: Oh man, I feel like you know Verbels man, it's
- 1:07:17Speaker 9: all about stacked monsters. We run to the ball every time.
- 1:07:20Speaker 9: Even the press we run to the ball does not
- 1:07:22Speaker 9: if he don't like, if he don't see nobody runs
- 1:07:23Speaker 9: the ball, he will get on you. He's my language.
- 1:07:25Speaker 9: But we got to run to that ball every time.
- 1:07:27Speaker 9: So it's just like you know, he teaches that all
- 1:07:30Speaker 9: the time every day. Even if we're tired, we're gas,
- 1:07:32Speaker 9: we gotta run to that ball. Always support teammate, never
- 1:07:34Speaker 9: let our teammates be alone and tackling nobody, so like
- 1:07:37Speaker 9: you know, you always teach that all the time, always
- 1:07:39Speaker 9: be around your brothers and always support your brothers, like
- 1:07:41Speaker 9: never ever leave them out by theyself. So you know
- 1:07:43Speaker 9: that's how he always trained us.
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: So we're all fine, high after beating the Bills, right,
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: but now it's about stacking it right and keep winning
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: and the Saints and what's coach Frable's message ben about,
- 1:07:54Speaker 6: you know, not being too complacent obviously coming off such
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: a big one.
- 1:07:57Speaker 9: Like leave last week high last week, you know, we
- 1:07:59Speaker 9: focused on we got the game. We got to focus
- 1:08:01Speaker 9: on this. We've got the Saint to worry about. That's
- 1:08:02Speaker 9: all we worrying about. That's all were looking at. And
- 1:08:04Speaker 9: we got to just keep it moving and keep it going,
- 1:08:06Speaker 9: you know, that's all we focus on. The sas awesome.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: Well, Christian, thanks so much for send down with us

- 1:09:36Speaker 4: History.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: I mean I think it's a balancing act, and I
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: mean I think building a team. You don't want to
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: get too young. You want to still have some veteran presence.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: But but excuse did you hear that?
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: You know?
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: I also don't think you can just turn it all

- 1:10:01Speaker 2: muscle ties of Bandana first?
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: For some reason?
- 1:10:03Speaker 11: Like?
- 1:10:03Speaker 7: What is.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: Rambo? What is that?
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: Look?
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: How but I coming to get you?
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: Yeah, Todd, I would just say, though I think generally,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: you know, Paul and I are the same page. It's
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: just like this team has to get younger. They gotta
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: get younger. And so that guy's dead now, everybody so.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: Covering blood neutralizes the word that the fastest I've ever
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: seen you dispose of my body. That was impressive.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: That's another great moment from.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: All right backhanrat Patriots on Filtered Aay five five past
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: five hundred. Is the hotline podcast at patriots dot com.
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: Is the email address you just saw the Christian Barmber
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: interview with Evan and Paul.
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: I hope you enjoyed that. Evan and Mike, I'm sorry sorry.
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: Uh I go and do my shows on day after.
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: Yeah? So they yes, they recorded that yesterday.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: All right, let's get back to the phones. Uh picture
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: coming up. Deuce has gone to the locker room. He'll
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: be back. Evan will not because he's gonna go up
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: to practice. Yeah, after the locker room. But we will
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: carry on. And Tony's in Pennsylvania. What's up?
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: Tony?
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: Hey?
- 1:11:19Speaker 9: What's up?
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: Fellas?
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: Hey?
- 1:11:22Speaker 12: Hey? So about the halftime?
- 1:11:25Speaker 20: So there's there's more than two fan bases out there.
- 1:11:29Speaker 20: I just think it's unfair because, you know, when's the
- 1:11:32Speaker 20: last time we had a good country song or a
- 1:11:36Speaker 20: good you know, classic rock song out there, like kid rock.
- 1:11:40Speaker 20: When I was younger, Madden used to have like Stacy's
- 1:11:43Speaker 20: Mom and some good, some good quality odor songs on there.
- 1:11:47Speaker 20: But now it's just like one sided. And uh, you know,
- 1:11:51Speaker 20: I don't think it's fair.
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: They've got the classic rock peace.
- 1:11:55Speaker 20: I would like to hear some Morgan wallin.
- 1:11:56Speaker 11: You know.
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: The point I think that we we're trying to make
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: is that we're gonna watch like I, yeah, i'd like
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: to see Metallica, but I'm watching regardless of who's doing
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: the halftime. By doing this, they bring in fans who
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: are not fans, but people who may not watch and
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: that's the point they've got us, Tony, they don't they
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: don't need to appeal to us.
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: They need to.
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: Appeal who people are fringe or wouldn't be watching, and
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: they're certainly doing it with Bad Bunny.
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: So I mean that, you know, but you know, a
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: country one I love.
- 1:12:30Speaker 7: But I think he would be just as polarizing.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: Well, but that's a different for a different reason. But
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: the country, the genre in general, forget about the individual
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: that you choose, Like, have they had really a country one?
- 1:12:42Speaker 8: Not recently Chris Stapleton did either The Anthem or America
- 1:12:46Speaker 8: the beautifuls.
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, like just like the actual halftime I
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: don't know, worry who wants country I don't think they have.
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: I'm not a huge country guy, but a lot of
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: people are, I.
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: Know, But like I'm gonna, I want to be energized.
- 1:12:59Speaker 8: I think that you should have the Killers come and
- 1:13:01Speaker 8: do a halftime show The Killers.
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: Yeah, if they did that, that would be that would
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: be awesome.
- 1:13:06Speaker 8: Mister Brightside, Like mister Brightside is like their fourth best song.
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: They have so many hits, but not for a sports venue.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: For a sports venue, have you ever heard that song
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: played at a game? And not had and not have
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: sixty thousand people singing it.
- 1:13:21Speaker 8: Any wedding you've ever been to, any game you've ever
- 1:13:23Speaker 8: been to.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: I remember the first wedding that I went to that
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: had that that like that reaction.
- 1:13:28Speaker 7: It's always the last song around that.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: I was like, when did this become that song?
- 1:13:34Speaker 7: You know, it happened sometime when I was in college.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: And this was like ten years ago.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: I didn't see it on the broadcast, but in Buffalo
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: they played that song in.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: Trying to like never ever, never, not once have I
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: heard that song played at a stadium and not had
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: the entire stadium singing it right. Yeah, Like it's amazing.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: I don't know why or when.
- 1:13:56Speaker 8: I mean, first album is like twenty years old already,
- 1:13:59Speaker 8: so there's so many generations that you can touch with that.
- 1:14:03Speaker 7: I feel like I've been calling.
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: Bright Side, what is that song?
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: How does it go?
- 1:14:13Speaker 7: Because we're going singing?
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: We can't sing. I was coming out of my cage.
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: We'll sing it, We'll say it like Christopher walking.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: Would I know?
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: I know we can't sing because we could get in trouble.
- 1:14:30Speaker 7: I'm mister bright Side.
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: I can't sing because I.
- 1:14:34Speaker 7: Just can't look it's killing me.
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: Okay, I don't know.
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: Honestly, I heard a rumor that they're looking at Metallica
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: for two thousand and six twenty six, Like.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: I think Metallica, I mean, it's not my Metallica like that.
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: See I would love that.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: It's not my thing, but.
- 1:14:52Speaker 8: A lot of I appreciate it, but I'm not, like, like,
- 1:14:55Speaker 8: I understand that they have a huge fan base.
- 1:14:57Speaker 7: It's a huge band with again.
- 1:15:00Speaker 8: Generational poll like all over the place, but it's just
- 1:15:03Speaker 8: not my Like that's honestly, like the one genre that I.
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: Andy Hart loved Katie Perry, I thought that was terrible.
- 1:15:10Speaker 7: I don't like.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: I thought it was terrible, very.
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: But I want a good I didn't think it was
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: good at all.
- 1:15:18Speaker 7: Like you don't have to like her terrible person.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know, but that took a turn.
- 1:15:22Speaker 8: Yeah, she like suit a bunch of roommate at one time.
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: Okay, that was just the lad reaction. You'll get it
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: in a second, Okay, But.
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: No, I thought that was like it was but you know,
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: some people that was the best one of all time.
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: I didn't think it was the best one of all time,
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: but I thought it was very entertaining. I agree with
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: Alex's you don't have to and I do like her songs, but.
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: I thought I didn't. I thought Tom Penny wasn't that good.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't think Tom Petty was good.
- 1:15:54Speaker 7: But that's not my mellow.
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: Yeah it's too mellow. You got it? You got what
- 1:15:58Speaker 4: ten minutes?
- 1:15:58Speaker 7: The killers, I'm only got ten minutes.
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: You got to bring it for ten minutes.
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: And I don't even like it when they bring it
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: and then they do the slow song and then they
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: bring it back up.
- 1:16:09Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, give me ten minutes energy.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: All bangers like Kendall Roy's birthday party.
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: So I don't know. The weekend that was awful.
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't really like the weekend.
- 1:16:24Speaker 4: So so I don't know. They're catchers, catch cannons.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: You know. Some people love the bit. It's an impossible thing.
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: They've built it up so and it's so big. Now
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: I think it's impossible.
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: It's music, it's subjective. It's supposed to be subjective. And
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: but what they're trying to do to the caller is
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: they're just trying to bring in new people.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: The events with Bad Bunny, you know, the.
- 1:16:52Speaker 7: There's no bigger in the world.
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: They want to be able to say every more had
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: more people watching them last super Bowl, and they might do, but.
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: The push for more and more international games, this is
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: definitely really part of it. Yeah, what do you think
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: of the ratings of the Super Bowl?
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: What do I think of it?
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: Yeah? I don't think they're made up. I don't know
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: anybody who doesn't watch the Super Bowl. I've never met
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: anybody who who who's you know, Oh, you work for
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: the PA. Is that like, I've never heard anyone I
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: know people who don't who don't watch the super Bowl,
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: and yet only half the country watches it according to
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: the ratings. I don't think the ratings are right. You
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: think there's more people watching?
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: I don't think anybody is not watching the super Bowl.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: On Super Bowl, I think there's a lot.
- 1:17:36Speaker 8: I went skiing left super Bowls and how ratings are
- 1:17:39Speaker 8: even measured because you know, and how many people illegally
- 1:17:43Speaker 8: stream games.
- 1:17:45Speaker 7: You can't count that.
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: Right, don't get me going on streaming. How they count
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: those numbers? I think X equals like six on a streaming.
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: You think those are those are ridiculously inflated, But.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: A super Bowl can it possibly be fifty percent of
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: the country that doesn't watch the Super Bowl. So what
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: are the aunt Camella and antie Fino watch the Super Bowl?
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: So this is what three hundred and twenty million people
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: in the United States, but how many of those are
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: under three years old so you can't count them or whatever.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: But it isn't like ratings like households and whatnot. It's
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: not like individual people as much as like how.
- 1:18:27Speaker 8: Many people don't watch a second of professional sports all year,
- 1:18:31Speaker 8: but they're still going to a Super.
- 1:18:32Speaker 7: Bowl party just for the social aspect of it. Even
- 1:18:35Speaker 7: if I know I know a.
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: Group of people who don't watch football, but they have
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: a Super Bowl party and it's all about making soup.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: So everyone has to make their own super Bowl. But
- 1:18:46Speaker 4: they have the super.
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: Bowl on That makes perfect sense to me.
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: But they bring sup and it's the super Bowl.
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: That kind of That's what I'm thinking when I when
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: I go in this rant every year at least once.
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: But that's what I'm thinking. There's plenty of people who
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: don't have any interest in the super That's why I
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: would say that, No, one doesn't care about fo No,
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: there's a million people who don't watch football. But on
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: Super Bowl Sunday, what else are you doing?
- 1:19:10Speaker 19: Right?
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: The whole country is wrapped up in this one event,
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: and you're just gonna be like, no, I'm going to
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: the movies. I'm not gonna watch I just can't imagine
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: there's a significant percentage of people that do that.
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: Well, I think you might be surprised, you know, like
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: there might be some things where there.
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: I'm gonna read a book.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: Not everyone's watching the Tony Awards, And it's like, I
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: don't watch it, But I bet you there's some people
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: who can't believe why aren't you watching the Tony Awards.
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: No, no, but that's not the same thing.
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: Have you ever asked anybody if they if they watched
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: the Tony Awards and have them say no, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: me too. I've never asked anybody if they watched the
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: Super Bowl and have them say no. Who are you
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: asking anybody? You think I just have people in life.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: You think I'm that much of a neanderthal. I only
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: have people that are sports sent in my life. Yes,
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: probably right.
- 1:20:01Speaker 15: I skipped the Super Bowl last year Paula to go
- 1:20:03Speaker 15: skiing because I figured the mountain would be empty with
- 1:20:04Speaker 15: everybody watching the Super Bowl.
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: Well, then there you go.
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: That's a good that's a good thing.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: Were you pouting because Philly and CAC were playing? No,
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: I didn't even know those two were playing.
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: To be honest, See, there.
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: Are people I'm telling you no, I know there are
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: you know. This is my thing. Like when I say nobody,
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: I don't mean like zero. I'm saying the ratings would
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: suggest the rating is like a fifty. The ratings suggests
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: half the country watched it and the other half didn't.
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: So I think that's a really big percentage of people
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: who claim they didn't watch the Super Bowl.
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: But it's not a matter of claiming. It's it's it's
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: you don't tell like how they do the ratings. If
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: the number was bigger, the league would jump on that number,
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: if there was any way to make it bigger.
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: No, I think it's what Alex said. I don't think
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: the ratings are recorded recorded correctly.
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it might be.
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: I mean like if you're up to a restaurant and
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: they've got the TV on, do you count?
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: Probably not right? Yeah?
- 1:21:00Speaker 7: I like sports bars and yeah, no, so I know
- 1:21:04Speaker 7: it's huge.
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: It's other than the World Cup, right, isn't it the
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: biggest event sporting event in the world.
- 1:21:11Speaker 7: Oh yeah, it has to be. What would be bigger
- 1:21:13Speaker 7: the World Cup? Right?
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: Right, that's what I think. Rugby, rugby, right, cricket? All right?
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: Back to the phones. Trevor's in Virginia.
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: What's up, Trevor the bean pot?
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: Bean pot?
- 1:21:29Speaker 9: Right, guys.
- 1:21:30Speaker 11: I'm twenty years old, and for most of my life,
- 1:21:33Speaker 11: like a lot of other people, I grew up adopting
- 1:21:36Speaker 11: the coaching philosophy of a coach the fellow chick in way,
- 1:21:40Speaker 11: smart discipline, strong football players. So for the first two weeks,
- 1:21:43Speaker 11: I was really resenting the rest of the season like
- 1:21:46Speaker 11: a lot of people, based on what I saw, and
- 1:21:48Speaker 11: I wanted change is to be made well bench. But
- 1:21:51Speaker 11: you know, obviously, after the last two weeks, I've been
- 1:21:53Speaker 11: humbled and I go back to what my original standard
- 1:21:57Speaker 11: for success was, and that's what that we progressed throughout
- 1:22:01Speaker 11: the season. We get better every single game, no matter
- 1:22:03Speaker 11: what the record is, no matter what the product looks
- 1:22:06Speaker 11: like relative relative to our opponents. You know, I was
- 1:22:10Speaker 11: just concerned about getting better every week, and we obviously
- 1:22:13Speaker 11: are doing that, and I'm very pleased with the product
- 1:22:15Speaker 11: that we're seeking as well. No, thanks, guys.
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: Yeah, well, put Trevor. I mean every most people are
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: really good. Cart that's what they wanted to see this year.
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: And if that's the case up to this point, you
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: have to be happy.
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: Yeah, because I'm guilty of it too. And you asked
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: me I think on Tuesday, should our expectations change? And
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: I said yes, I think Mayne half. But that's Trevor's
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: perspective is the right one, because even if it doesn't
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: end up, they might lose some of these games to
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: teams that I now deem not worthy, right like this one.
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: And let's just say you end up winning eight or
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: nine games and you don't make the playoffs. I don't
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: think that should then change. Because the expectations are changing now,
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: that shouldn't change. Like the season was probably a success.
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: They probably did get better better, but they're just not
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: quite ready to win every game that they quote unquote
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: should win. They're going to lose some games that they're
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: favored in. If that happens now, I'll wait and see
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: if that happens. Right now. I don't see them losing
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: to New Orleans or Tennessee these next two games.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: I just don't THEO rights, and I don't care who
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: performs at the super Bowl. But you have spent the
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: majority of today's show talking about something in February. How
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: about getting to the picks and ending the show if
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: there's nothing else to talk about. Really, we spent the
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: majority of the show talking about this.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: Picks are coming up at about seven minutes seven. Micha
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: will be back. I don't love where we get chat died.
- 1:23:39Speaker 7: Oh yeah, I know, shut it off.
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: Be better, Jamie and Carlo Ireland. Just a thought about
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: kick returns and Gibson's absence. I agree that I think
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: the workload for Marcus Jones with his body type could
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: be too much. And I like the idea of Kyle
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: Williams back there. But if they did go and didn't
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: want to go for a veteran, what about Kyle Duggar.
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: I understand he did some returns I think punts in
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: college and Paul I'd been wanting to see him return
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: a few seasons ago.
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: Yeah he's done that. I gave that one up, But yeah,
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: I wanted to see him get more opportunities earlier in
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: his career. It just never really kind of came to fruition.
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: Ye, at least one dynamic punt return in college that
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: made all the tape well when you were looking at him.
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: I didn't see him do it all summer though. I
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: just can't imagine to take a guy who really hasn't
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: been asked to right to practice it much and then
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: just throw him back there. But bigger body, you know
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: he'd be able to withstand it. And he's not playing
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: a tremendous amount of defense.
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: Aaron in Kentucky feeling the best I have as a
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: Pats fan since eighteen in the Super Bowl. The fact
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: that didn't take a perfect performance to beat the Bill
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: shows me their growth. I compare it to last year's
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: season opener, where we beat the Bengals but had to
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: have everything fall into place perfectly in order to have
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: a chance going into this game on fire. Patriots win
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: thirty two, and he has no other score, so I
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: don't know what that means. Yeah, but he has them
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: scoring thirty two. I think if the Patriots score thirty
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: two points, they win this game.
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: Oh god, yes, ye. Team couldn't score thirty two if
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: they were alone in the field.
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: Chris and Allentown on the refereeing issue, would you like
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: to see them implement a warning system for penalties at
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: the snap, like illegal formation, shifts off size, et cetera.
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: They already let their play run anyway.
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: Why not throw the flag and then call the first
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: one in a game a warning illegal formation offense. This
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: is their first warning toward a penalty.
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: The play counts. No, I don't like that.
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: Everyone wins, the players get to know what they are
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: or are not calling, and the refs get to hear
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: themselves talk. But the play isn't wiped out. Second flag
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: onwards five yard.
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: No, I don't like that.
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: What I would like is a streamlining of the rule
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: book to sort of make it less complicated. And Fred,
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: you know how you used to go through a thing
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: like about football rules every once in a while, like
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: like why is that a rule? Why can aligneman not
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: go downfield on passes? I mean you used to have
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: a rant about that, Like, I think a lot of
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: these things that are in place in terms of the
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: alignments are because of you know, when football first started,
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: there was a lot of confusion as to who was
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: going where and who was doing what, and passes were
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: so rare that you could really fool everybody. Well, now
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: it's not like that anymore. There's all these spread formations.
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: Everybody knows if you're spread out wide and you're an
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: eligible receiver, that you're eligible, like you're not tricking. Like
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: do you remember the play that Kansas City ran at
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: the end of the Buffalo game a couple of years
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: ago where I think Kelsey caught a pass and threw
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: it out to the sideline like Kadarius Tony and it
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: caught Buffalo and they went for touchdown or got called
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: back because Kadarius Tony was lined up in the neutral zone.
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: Had nothing to do with the play, like nothing, Like
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: it wasn't Buffalo didn't not cover him because he was
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: lined up in an area where he wasn't supposed to
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: or whatever. I don't I don't want to see these
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: plays like nullified because of technicalities like pass interference, face
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: mask holding, if you know, egregious holding, roughing the passes
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: when they're really roughing the passer or not brushing against
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: the guy. Those those penalties happen they you know, like
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: as as Mike calls them penalties of aggression, Yeah, they're
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: going to happen. Like do we have to have all
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: of these alignment issues all the time, and it's it's
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: not a Patriots thing, it's a league thing. And that
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: emailer illustrated that the penalties are up across the league.
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: Yep, Joe writes in Diggs talked about this game being harder,
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: and you guys have addressed the letdown potential as well.
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: This kind of makes me think, like you were good
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: every year because of Brady, but you were good for
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: twenty years because of Bill seeing it in only year
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: two with the Eagles.
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: No, you think this is year two for the Eagles.
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: This is like year five for the Eagles.
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: Yeah, they've been good for a long while now.
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: They went to the Super Bowl like three years ago
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: and lost them the last play of the game.
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: But there is some truth to Bill kept it even.
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: And by the way, they're four and one.
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean to do it for twenty years. He's right,
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: you know, Like I always say.
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: I think it was Brady in both counts.
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: The story wasn't why did the dynasty break up? The
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: story is how did they keep it together for twenty years?
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: That's the story.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: I agree with you that that's the story and the
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: most impressive aspect about what they did. But I give
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: more credit for Brady and more and more by the day.
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: Let's see Scott New Hampshire love the show and I
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: learned a great deal from all of you. But I'm
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: confused on something I heard talk about how some players
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: are better suited to returning punts than kickoffs for football,
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: simpleton like me, Can you explain how the skill set
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: for those two things are different?
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: So, I really don't think it's tremendously different. I think
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: that the new kickoff rules have led some coaches to
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: believe that you need a little bit of a bigger
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: body type to be more of a running back than
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: like sort of a defensive scat like defensive back wide
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: receiver type, because you're looking to break tackles and the
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: initial line it's more like a running play. And I
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: don't know if that's actually true, but I think that
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: that's how a lot of these coaches are treating it
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: in this year year plus now that we've had this
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: new kickoff rule in the dynamic kickoff, which I hate
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: that term, but though yeah, I mean, I guess I
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: think it's boring. I don't like it.
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: It's just like ten bodies like condensed, you know, one
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: on each side, and they you know, I like it.
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: When they used to run down you could see creases
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: open up and it's hard. You know, it's much more.
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: It was hard to hard to cover and hard to
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: to return. But I think that I think that in
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: general you want a dynamic athletic ball carrier either way.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: Punt returns require a little bit more I would say
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: skill in terms of decision making judgment. Yeah, yeah, you know,
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: in a small catching the ball and quickly avoiding contact.
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: You know you have a guy on you much closer
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: on a punt than a kick. So there are different,
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: definitely different elements.
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: Richard and Prague right side. You've seen many former Patriots
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: dot com alumni go on to bigger and better things,
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: and you must be very proud. A couple of examples
- 1:30:47Speaker 3: Mike Grease as the Worldwide Leader's Key, Patriots Guy Megan
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: as the Barbara Walters of w w E, and Eric
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: as the Dude of Sniff's Courts. Very impressive. But my
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: question is Mina Chimes has a rotator cast of nasally
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: challenged nerds talk schemes like they're talking D and D,
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: and it's utterly riveting. Is there any chance you could
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: work your magic and get Evan on her show.
- 1:31:11Speaker 8: Evan used to be go on with Mina. I believe
- 1:31:14Speaker 8: so he knows her, but I think once he started
- 1:31:18Speaker 8: working for the team straight towards Taylor.
- 1:31:21Speaker 7: Kyle's who was the successor.
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: This is Radio.
- 1:31:28Speaker 8: I don't know if it's her podcast or if it's
- 1:31:30Speaker 8: a show or what, but he recently tweeted and gave
- 1:31:34Speaker 8: after Brabel first shouted him out.
- 1:31:37Speaker 7: Mina was like, love to see this.
- 1:31:39Speaker 8: Taylor is one of the best young ex and o
- 1:31:42Speaker 8: mines in football.
- 1:31:43Speaker 7: And Evan was beside himself.
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: Oh no, I know he got under it, which Fred kind.
- 1:31:51Speaker 7: Of likes hilarious. But I think now that he's like
- 1:31:58Speaker 7: protected by the shield.
- 1:31:59Speaker 8: She wanted someone that maybe had the ability to be
- 1:32:02Speaker 8: a little bit say whatever they wanted.
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: I guess, well, I don't think she got it with
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: Taylor Kyle's I know, right, Yeah, I.
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: Wasn't paying attention anyway.
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: Paul was talking about how Andre Tippett told him about
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: his earth Wind and Fire. They did a foresome and
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: just wants to know was that foursome? Andre was talking
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: about golf related.
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: Yes, got her mind when we listened back to it
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: in the in the open, I was I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: When I heard that, I was like, I probably should
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: have said.
- 1:32:41Speaker 7: Golf, Like that's probably what you think of.
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: Lots of people are emailing in about the halftime show.
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: So for those of you who don't want to talk
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: about it, other people do. I mean, you know, what
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: are you gonna what are you gonna do? Paul in
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: the Colony says his parents haven't watched in twenty years.
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: They're pushing eighty. Haven't watched the Super Bowl period. I
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: haven't watched it twenty years, No, Jeremiah. Some people I'd
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: love to see performing the halftime show would be Pitbull
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: and Eminem. I like Pitbull. That was one of the
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: best post game parties we ever had. That was one
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: Florida with Pitbull that was in Arizona.
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: Yep. Yeah, fourteen Seattle game and my son, my oldest son,
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: was at that one and he was exhausted at the
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: end of the day and he just wanted to go
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: can we go back to the hotel? And like, literally,
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: Pitbull is where you are, Alex, and I go, well,
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: it's Pitbull. He goes, ah, that's awesome. Can we go
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: back to the hotel now? And we were like no,
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: we're getting another Piero.
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: And he also says he'd love to see eminem on
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: his own and he was there as a guest, but
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: not on his own. And he thinks a lot of
- 1:33:53Speaker 3: fans are underrating how popular Bad Bunny is. I'd even
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: go to as far as to say is they are
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: more of the niche grew for not listening to him,
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: just due to how popular he is around the room.
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: So he thinks more people listen to him than don't.
- 1:34:06Speaker 8: Well, that's like what I said earlier with like the
- 1:34:08Speaker 8: American bubble, right, Like I think when Jala and Jalo
- 1:34:12Speaker 8: and Shakira did the halftime show, people thought Jalo was
- 1:34:16Speaker 8: the bigger artist, when Shakira is massive and huge.
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: Yeah, Anthony not sure if you heard Kurt Warner on
- 1:34:25Speaker 3: The Rich Eisen Show saying he needs to see more
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: from Drake May to summon up. He said Drake plays
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: too much backyard football, only making one read and then
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: going to make a play rather than going through his progressions. Obviously,
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: we need to see more, But what do you make
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: of the rest of his comments? Do you see him
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: as a first read and run guy?
- 1:34:45Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: I felt he had a great command of the offense,
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: and he was able to understand the defensive schemes of looks.
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: He was able to go through his progressions when he
- 1:34:53Speaker 3: wasn't being rushed out of.
- 1:34:54Speaker 2: The gate Sunday night. The other thing is more accurate,
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: he was being he was he was affected by the
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: rush in the first half and was taking off in
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: the second half and making plays.
- 1:35:07Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: Now we talked about this a little bit on my
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: show yesterday, Freddie with Felgrin Maz you can the most
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: exciting thing is also the scariest thing. The most exciting
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: thing is that he showed you he has the ability
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: to make all these plays. And you know, and I
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: don't think he was lucky. I don't think any I mean,
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: some of the plays were a little bit fortunate, but
- 1:35:30Speaker 2: I don't think they were fluky. Let's put it that way.
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: He has the physical skills to do what he did
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: in the second half. However, those playmaking guys like the
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: Mahomes and the Josh Allens, Brett Favre going back, you know,
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: they would have periods where those backyard plays backfired on him.
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: So what you have to figure out is Drake megan
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: to be one of these guys like mahomes in Josh
- 1:35:56Speaker 2: Allen when more often now it works out for him positively,
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: Or is he going to be like so many other
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: talented guys that just can't find a consistency from week
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: to week, from game to game, from season to season.
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: Who was the guy they called the poor Man's Brett
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: Favre Uh had a Polish name, but uh magic Houseki.
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: Well, he replaced Don Mkowski. Brett replaced Don mccowsky.
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: Mkowski.
- 1:36:22Speaker 2: He was like, he was not a poor man's bread.
- 1:36:24Speaker 4: He was a gun slinger. He'd run around and throw
- 1:36:27Speaker 4: it from all different.
- 1:36:28Speaker 9: As back from the locker room.
- 1:36:32Speaker 7: What was the the player's friendly.
- 1:36:38Speaker 11: What was it like locker room?
- 1:36:44Speaker 9: What was it like in the.
- 1:36:47Speaker 4: Lock all right, Mike, what was it like?
- 1:36:49Speaker 11: Oh?
- 1:36:49Speaker 7: It was pretty quick today.
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: Obviously, got to get back for picks. Gotta hurry. But
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: a couple of good ones. Heard from Will Campbell, who
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: I found out went to the super Dome for his
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: first n F All game as a witnessing it, and
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: then saw his high school play there a little bit
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: when when he was younger, and then he played there
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: a couple of times in college too. So he's excited
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: to get back down. They're talking a lot of at
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: all the tickets he's got to give out to all
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: the family members that that want to go. But I
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: just love Will Campbell. He's just so like cool sauce
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: spoken just like I don't know, like I dig his
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: vibe he's got. He's just a tough, tough kid. Talked about,
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: you know, getting the running game.
- 1:37:24Speaker 4: Going a little bit.
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: We also heard from Ramandre in that regard, and you know,
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: felt bad for Antonio Gibson, but you know, continuing to
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: focus on what he's got to do, hold onto the ball.
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: I mean it's you know, explicitly realizes it now. And
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: you know we'll see how they how they put it
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: all together with him and Trevion and Terrell Jennings this week.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: But talked to him about Terrell Jennings too, just said
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: he's you know, hard runner, and you know, we'll see
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: if he if he gets in there, I don't know,
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: I really don't. I think they might call him up,
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: but I don't know if he was no. We talked
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: to him yesterday though, so he I guess he snuck out,
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: but pads again today. So it's coming a tradition there,
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: And yeah, that was it pretty much?
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: Quiet day.
- 1:38:03Speaker 4: Much like tostitos, traditions matter, they do.
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: That's why they make their massa reale. I forget colonelskon colonels. Yes, thanks,
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: all right, Evan there I on Evan Ion Evan. Yeah,
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: he was lurking along the around Will Campbell a little bit.
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't.
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: I didn't see him doing any uh, you know, one
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: on one talk, private, private, private talk.
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: Done to that yet all right, all right, well it
- 1:38:28Speaker 3: is that time of the week, So Paul, how did
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: we do last?
- 1:38:34Speaker 2: A tough week across the board? Evan and Paul won
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: the week at eight and six h followed by Mike
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: at five and nine. Knowint wow, Alex and Fred the
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: co leaders four and ten. That's stinky, yeah, mighty. Ever,
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: with the spread, there was only one who found his
- 1:38:56Speaker 2: way over five hundred, and that would be me at
- 1:38:59Speaker 2: nine and five.
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: I'm the FIRL found a nut.
- 1:39:01Speaker 7: Don't call it a comeback.
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: Evan and Mike seven and seven, Alex and Fred five
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: and nine. Season standings are as follows. Fred and Alex
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: fifty two to twenty five and one remain tied at
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: the top, followed by Evan and Mike tied for third
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: at forty five thirty two and one, and poopy Pants
- 1:39:21Speaker 2: Paul forty three, thirty four and one. But pants, you
- 1:39:25Speaker 2: may have been noticing that that gap is closing with
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: the spread. Fred forty four and thirty four. Really solid
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: number right there. Forty four and thirty four tightening up.
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: Everybody else is under five hundred. This is quite a
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: development here. Paul and Alex tied for second at thirty
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: eight and forty Evan thirty seven and forty one, and
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: Mike thirty two and forty six. All right, pick a
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: game much it works.
- 1:39:53Speaker 4: My work cut out for me, all right right where
- 1:39:55Speaker 4: I like it.
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: It's because you have bad numbers.
- 1:39:57Speaker 4: Let's get into this week's games.
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: We'll start tonight, eight fifteen, Prime Video, four and one
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: Eagles at the one in four Giants.
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: The Giants by I'm sorry, the Eagles by seven.
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: Seven points on the road.
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I picked.
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: I picked against Philly last week. I hit that one
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: actually kind of lucky. It didn't look great, but seven's
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: a lot of points, especially on the road in a
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: divisional game. But I just I can't do I can't
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: do the dart. I'm gonna take Philadelphia. I'm gonna lay
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: the points.
- 1:40:32Speaker 3: We were trying to coach Deuce before the show, like,
- 1:40:35Speaker 3: du you just you can't go back and forth. Whatever
- 1:40:38Speaker 3: your gut said, just go with it.
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: Don't talk gets into it though, you know, I just think,
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: you know, I want to be good.
- 1:40:45Speaker 4: I know I want to do a great good I know.
- 1:40:48Speaker 4: Whatever whatever you're doing, do something the.
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: Whole song about it. These lasting the picks, and then
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: someday I'll get out of it.
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: Sneaky negative last.
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: I think I was good for like a couple of weeks.
- 1:40:56Speaker 4: I thought that you might have had your time. Yeah,
- 1:40:58Speaker 4: it's like blind score week.
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: Three, Philly Philly for Alex. So I will take Philly
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: to win the game. But these Thursday night Division games
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: to me are slogs, and to take the home slog
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: to keep it, you know, within a touchdown.
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I think we're gonna see a pissed off Philadelphia team.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: I agree with it.
- 1:41:19Speaker 4: I go with Philly both ways.
- 1:41:22Speaker 21: Uh.
- 1:41:22Speaker 3: Sunday nine thirty another early game where they playing this
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: game Broncos three and two versus the Jets.
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: Oh and five?
- 1:41:30Speaker 4: Where's this game being played?
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: I didn't lose in England.
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: I didn't realize somewhere in England which stadium. I'll effort
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: that that changes my line of thought.
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: Okay, the three and two Broncos against the oh and
- 1:41:41Speaker 3: five Jets. Jets of the quote home team.
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: Denver by seven and a half. Here's a go from London. Yeah,
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: that's uh.
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: I got to get in on this Nick Benito, because
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: he seems like he's really tearing it up right now
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: for Denver's defense. I'm gonna take Denver to win, and man,
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: I just I think Jets are in disarray and I
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: think this defense is going to make them look more
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: in disarray. I'll take Denver. I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:42:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna take Denver both ways as well. I
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: was thinking about taking that hook at the Mental Lands,
- 1:42:12Speaker 2: but not in London. I will take Denver both ways, folks.
- 1:42:15Speaker 3: The metric system over there, this is why I'm leading
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: in the picks. Denver wins, but they do not cover
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: this game.
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: So there you go.
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: That's what your gut just told you. I'm just I'm
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: practicing from New York. Flight from New York, yep.
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: So unless unless the Jets have made an organizational decision,
- 1:42:37Speaker 3: and you know what I'm talking about there. Uh they cover,
- 1:42:40Speaker 3: they cover this game. Oh, one o'clock on a Fox.
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: One o'clock on Fox, the three and two Rams are
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: at the one in four.
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: Ravens Rams by seven and a half.
- 1:42:53Speaker 4: No Lamar, no Lamar.
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: And like Paul was saying earlier in the show, like
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: they Ravens just got to figure out, like how can
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: we just tread water or try to get a win,
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: to get a win, find a way. I don't think
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: they do it this week. I'm gonna take the Rams,
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: but I do think the Ravens put up a fight.
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: I will take the points for the Ravens.
- 1:43:12Speaker 7: Spread a seven and a half.
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: Yes, oh our so's right.
- 1:43:15Speaker 9: Look at that.
- 1:43:15Speaker 7: Imagine that Rams.
- 1:43:21Speaker 2: Torture.
- 1:43:24Speaker 7: It really is lose last week.
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: They did lose last week. Thennoyers Mac Jones.
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: They own them Rams, Rams double Rams.
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: Yeah. I am going to take the Rams both ways
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: as well. They Yeah, they had no no business losing
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: that game last week. The kickers costing them games twice
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: in three weeks. Think the best receiver in the NFL right.
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: Now, maybe Rams both ways is the correct pick. One
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: o'clock on Fox, the two to two and one Cowboys
- 1:43:56Speaker 3: are at the two and three Panthers.
- 1:43:59Speaker 2: Dallas three was by three.
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: Their defense is pretty bad, but I think Caroline is
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: pretty bad. I'm gonna I'm gonna take Dallas. I'll lay
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: the three two shoot them all road games so far.
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: Though, Yeah, I'm gonna take Dallas to win. Yeah, I'll
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: take Dallas both ways. Three points. I don't know. I
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: could see I am a little like Deuce in this one.
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: I could see an upset Dallas. Back to back road games.
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: They think they're cool, they're not all these games. Yeah,
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: but I'll take Dallas both ways.
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Dallas is playing pretty well. But this is one
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: of my you know, personal picks. I'm gonna take the
- 1:44:33Speaker 3: Panthers to win this game.
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: Wait it's Dallas now personal, Well, you're against Dallas.
- 1:44:38Speaker 4: I always like watching the Cowboys.
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: Automatically assume it's a personal growth and more often than not,
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: you'll be correct.
- 1:44:46Speaker 3: One o'clock on Fox, the two and three Cardinals are
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: at the four and one Colts.
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: Some in Boston now referring to the Colts as the
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: best team in the AFC. Colts by seven.
- 1:44:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I.
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna do it. I'm going to take the
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: Colts at home minus seven. Try to drink some now,
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: I don't care. But they've been playing good Colts.
- 1:45:13Speaker 7: Mm hmmm.
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: Kyler, Kyler.
- 1:45:16Speaker 8: Last week when I said I hate Arizona because in
- 1:45:18Speaker 8: the games, they always, yeah, find a way to lose,
- 1:45:22Speaker 8: but they still make it. They're still frisky and it's close,
- 1:45:25Speaker 8: and then they're just so disappointing.
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: That was an incredible loss last week.
- 1:45:29Speaker 7: And that's exactly what I meant. And for that reason,
- 1:45:33Speaker 7: just out of spite, I'll do Colts.
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: Colts for reason.
- 1:45:36Speaker 7: Now this is personal for me.
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: Mad at the Cardinals.
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: I will take the Colts, but I will take the seven.
- 1:45:41Speaker 2: That's a lot of points.
- 1:45:42Speaker 4: You'll take the seven. How big? How big is your unit? Paul?
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: I beg your pardon.
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: I don't understand what that means. It's it's units.
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: I only have one unit on it, just one une. Okay,
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: I'm not putting my We're only kidding about that. But
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: you bet, yeah, you bet your butt. There were only
- 1:46:02Speaker 2: kidding on that, right, Cardinals getting fired for him. I'm
- 1:46:06Speaker 2: taking the hook too, So there's no honk, Daniel, there's
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: no hook. You got Indian and you're taking Arizona. It's
- 1:46:13Speaker 2: straight up seven no half half. No, So so you're
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: taking the points I gave you.
- 1:46:19Speaker 3: There's no it's just straight okay, So I'm gonna take
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: the I'll take the number, okay. Fox One o'clock, the
- 1:46:29Speaker 3: three and two Seahawks are at the four and one
- 1:46:32Speaker 3: Jaguars Jacksonville by one and a half.
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: That's a good game. It usually the whole team gets three.
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: They're only getting one and a half. I'm gonna I'm
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: you know, I know, I think this is kind of
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: a coin flip for me. I'm gonna go with the
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: team I liked growing up, the Seattle Seahawks plus one
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: and a half.
- 1:46:53Speaker 7: I'm gonna ride the Jaguars energy.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: You get that big Jag energy.
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: Yeah. I like the Jags. I like what they're doing.
- 1:47:02Speaker 2: I think their defense is taking the ball away ridiculously.
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: But short week for them, big emotional win over the Chiefs.
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: I think they have a letdown in Seattle, comes across
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: the country and beats them.
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: Yeah, you could be right, Paul, but I'm gonna stick
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: with the Jaguars to win the game. One o'clock, CBS
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: three and two Chargers kind of slipping against the one
- 1:47:23Speaker 3: in four Dolphins.
- 1:47:26Speaker 2: The Chargers are really testing my I don't really care
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: what you do with your offensive line. They when you're
- 1:47:30Speaker 2: on like your fourth and fifth tackles and your third
- 1:47:32Speaker 2: and fourth guards, like it's hard to win. And they're
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: showing that Chargers are favored on the road by four
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: and a half.
- 1:47:42Speaker 4: Even with that.
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: Yeah, in Miami's defensive line has been has been pretty rough.
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: So that's kind of a weakness on weakness thing. You know,
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: at the end of the day, I'm going to go
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: with the quarterback. I'm gonna go with Justin Herbert. But
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: you know, I'm gonna lay the points, lay points.
- 1:48:00Speaker 7: Going to take the Chargers. I'm not going to lay
- 1:48:01Speaker 7: the point something in Miami though.
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm I'm going to trust in Herbert and Harbaugh
- 1:48:08Speaker 2: one more week to sort of work around these shortcomings
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: up front. They should have won that game last week.
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: They had that game in control, and then they got
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: sloppy toward the end of the first half. The game changed,
- 1:48:22Speaker 2: and then the pick at the end zone. You know,
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: all of a sudden, they end up losing, losing going away,
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: not even close. I think they bounce back. I think
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: there are much better team than Miami. I'll take them
- 1:48:32Speaker 2: both Aways, Chargers.
- 1:48:33Speaker 4: Is there a hook here?
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: There is a hook, it's four and a half.
- 1:48:37Speaker 4: Not really, there's four and a half hooks.
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: Now, half point is the hook. If it's three and
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: a half, you the hook would be you can lose
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: the game by a field go and win. I don't
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: know why we have to do this every show.
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: So every time there's a half, there's a hook.
- 1:48:49Speaker 2: Usually three and a half. Seven and a half is
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: a hook because games are decided by field goals and touchdowns.
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: Wasn't this already in the Fred's Book of Gambling Party?
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: He wrote the book, and now he's going write a seat.
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: I think he wants to make sure I read it.
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: I read the assignment.
- 1:49:05Speaker 4: I'm going to take the.
- 1:49:06Speaker 6: Heart of the bet.
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: Did you get the Chargers?
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: Chargers?
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: So you're taking the points that they don't cover one
- 1:49:11Speaker 3: o'clock CBS, The one in four Browns are at the
- 1:49:14Speaker 3: three and one Steelers.
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: Steelers by five and a half.
- 1:49:18Speaker 4: Oh god, yeah, overrated team.
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: Oh okay, I'm going to take Pittsburgh to win at home,
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: but I'm going to take the points there for Cleveland.
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: I think it's going to be a tough game. I
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: think that defense is going to get after Aaron Rodgers,
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: not let him be able to sit there like he
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: did against the Patriots and pick him apart retweet.
- 1:49:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought about taking Cleveland outright, but I'll do
- 1:49:42Speaker 2: the same thing as Mike and Alex. I'll take Pittsburgh
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: to win, but not by five and a half.
- 1:49:48Speaker 3: Not only did I think about taking the Browns out right,
- 1:49:51Speaker 3: I'm taking the Browns out right, you know what, Dylan Gabriel,
- 1:49:54Speaker 3: I got a pair.
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: No, I'm like another grudge where Bailey's aptlete is going
- 1:49:59Speaker 2: to be the back up.
- 1:50:00Speaker 9: Maybe.
- 1:50:01Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:50:01Speaker 3: Now we skip over the Patriots at one o'clock and
- 1:50:04Speaker 3: we moved to four oh five on Fox, the one
- 1:50:07Speaker 3: in four Titans, that the one in four Raiders.
- 1:50:09Speaker 2: Raiders, this is the one that's got me game of
- 1:50:13Speaker 2: the day.
- 1:50:13Speaker 4: I was thinking of flexing this one right out of
- 1:50:15Speaker 4: the schedule, just like not.
- 1:50:16Speaker 20: Play the game.
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: Three and a half, show some respect. Uh, cheapers, creepers.
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: I just I don't get it. Gino Smith just tears
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: the Patriots up and then looks incompetent against everybody else.
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: I still think Tennessee is a young team on the road.
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna maybe do a little surprise here. I'm gonna
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: take and take the Raiders at home. I'll lay the
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: points three and a half. Yeah, mmm, I'm gonna take
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: tough one.
- 1:50:45Speaker 2: Yeah, these teams are struggling. I'm gonna take I don't
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: care about I'm gonna take Tennessee. My good friend Evan
- 1:50:53Speaker 2: reminded me just before the show that Brock Bauers has
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: been out or he will be out in this game,
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: and basically is the entirety of their offense. I mean,
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: gent had one good game against Chicago, He's been otherwise
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: shut down. They haven't really gotten anything out of him.
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: It's just Jakobe Myers. Now gino is Mike said, I'm
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: gonna take Tennessee.
- 1:51:13Speaker 3: I'm gonna I was gonna take Tennessee even before I
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: knew that. Just now Bowers is out. So Titans win
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: the game.
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: Uh fo.
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: On CBS, the four and one Ers are at the
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: Red Hut. Buccaneers also four and one.
- 1:51:27Speaker 2: This is actually a pretty good game. Yeah, box by three,
- 1:51:31Speaker 2: Bucks by three.
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: Let Baker bake. Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Tampa
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: Bay at home, with Baker.
- 1:51:38Speaker 2: At home, with big.
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: Tough, lay the points.
- 1:51:42Speaker 7: It's Mack again, right, I believe that's correct, and Mac
- 1:51:46Speaker 7: is binged up.
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: I just like he's tough though.
- 1:51:54Speaker 7: Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay.
- 1:51:57Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:51:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna take the box as well. Although you know,
- 1:52:01Speaker 2: it's one of those things when you have all these
- 1:52:04Speaker 2: comeback wins, it means you could be zero and five too.
- 1:52:08Speaker 2: So I don't think that they've been great, but I
- 1:52:11Speaker 2: think at home against San Francisco, I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 1:52:14Speaker 2: take the bucks. Forty nine ers win this game.
- 1:52:17Speaker 10: Wow.
- 1:52:17Speaker 4: Yeah, forty nine ers.
- 1:52:20Speaker 7: On a tear. Yeah, it's kind of fun to root for. Yeah,
- 1:52:25Speaker 7: I enjoyed them.
- 1:52:27Speaker 4: Why not?
- 1:52:27Speaker 19: You know?
- 1:52:27Speaker 4: Having four five CBS.
- 1:52:29Speaker 21: First of all, they were playing the Rams runs on
- 1:52:32Speaker 21: my NFC team. You know that four twenty five on CBS.
- 1:52:35Speaker 21: The two and three Bengals are at the two, one
- 1:52:39Speaker 21: and one Packers.
- 1:52:41Speaker 2: So Joe Flacco will attempt to beat the same team
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: twice for four different teams in the same season. Wow,
- 1:52:49Speaker 2: But it'll have to overcome a fourteen point spread that
- 1:52:53Speaker 2: Joe Flacco was starting for the Bengals. The Packers are
- 1:52:55Speaker 2: favored by fourteen. Yeah, what do the sharps know? Here's
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: a lot of points watch Cincinnati.
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I know that's a lot of points. And sometimes
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: I feel like green Bay is just like a little
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: bit too unreliable in situations like this. I don't know,
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna get a little crazy. I'm going to take
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: the points, the points.
- 1:53:13Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, green Bay. But that's too big for me too.
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: I mean there's part of me that says, like the Bengals,
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: like we got Joe Flacco's a quarterback, like this is
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: just like a perfect like forget it, this season's over.
- 1:53:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna take green Bay both ways. I will say,
- 1:53:29Speaker 2: if Cincinnati covers, I think they could win because that
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: means Flacco just had one of those games. I think
- 1:53:34Speaker 2: at lambeau Field, with that defense, Placo is gonna throw
- 1:53:37Speaker 2: like three picks. Yeah, so I'm gonna I'm gonna lay
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: the points.
- 1:53:41Speaker 4: He just got there. He doesn't know, the players doesn't
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: know anything.
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean, I don't know how much you
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: have to know to just say throw it to one
- 1:53:48Speaker 2: and throw it to five. Those guys are pretty good,
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: but I can see him being pressured.
- 1:53:54Speaker 7: And the about.
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: Behind unning to the window.
- 1:54:00Speaker 11: Here.
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: I'm not at fourteen. These guys are right, Fourteen is
- 1:54:03Speaker 2: a lot for an NFL game.
- 1:54:04Speaker 4: Okay, I'm taking I'd be staying away.
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: I'd be I'd be fading this way, I'd be staying away.
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: I'm I'm gonna take the Packers both ways because it's
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: the Bengals, uh eight twenty on NBC in Universo.
- 1:54:20Speaker 4: The four and one Lions are at the two and three.
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: Chiefs the Chefs by two and a half.
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: I'm be sure that's a see this is it.
- 1:54:30Speaker 2: I love it, full weather.
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: We'll get we'll do our game, and then we'll go
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: and then you get home and you set up for
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: a for a good matchup, and.
- 1:54:38Speaker 2: Then by the third possessions, I'm gonna go with Kansas
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: City here.
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: I know it's a little against conventional wisdom, but I
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: think you know, Chris Jones getting a lot of crap.
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: You know, they're starting to get healthy. I think Kansas
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: City is due for a get right game. I think
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: Detroit is awesome, though, but I think this would be
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: a good game I'm gonna take. I'm gonna take Kansas
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: City at home.
- 1:54:57Speaker 7: Though Dieto.
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: Has the number here, Chiefs by two and a half,
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: she's by two and a half. Yeah, I'm going to
- 1:55:04Speaker 2: take Detroit two, but I am not done with Kansas City,
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: Like I know this whole thing.
- 1:55:11Speaker 7: Well, two and four not against the Lions.
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: They'll be fine.
- 1:55:14Speaker 4: I think this.
- 1:55:15Speaker 2: I think if this was next week and Rashid Rice
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: was back, I think I'd take the Chiefs. But I
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: don't know if they have enough offensive weapons to keep
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: up with Detroit. Detroit will score, yeah, they sure will.
- 1:55:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take Detroit to win this game. All right.
- 1:55:30Speaker 4: We moved to Monday night, another doubleheader.
- 1:55:32Speaker 3: Nice first one starts at seven fifteen on ESPN and
- 1:55:36Speaker 3: ESPN Deportes. It's the four and one Bills at the
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: two and two Falcons, Buffalo by four and a half.
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: The look on Buffalo's face after losing the Patriots, you know,
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: right or wrong, just kind of blaming themselves for playing sloppy.
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: I think that energy will result in a better performance.
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: I think they're just a better team.
- 1:55:56Speaker 4: Mean, they didn't give the Patriots credit.
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, really they really didn't. That's disrespect
- 1:56:01Speaker 2: for you add another grudge.
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: That right, it's all about us.
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: But that's right. When you're a good team over the Buffalo.
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: Now it's it's it's in their hands. So I'm gonna
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: take Buffalo, and I'm going to lay the points to
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: I think they have a good game. They bounce back
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: and James Cook gets back on track.
- 1:56:15Speaker 7: Same.
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna take Buffalo both ways too. At some
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: point they have to play well.
- 1:56:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to grudgingly take the Bills, but I'll
- 1:56:22Speaker 3: be rooting for the Falcons. Obviously, ABC eight fifteen two
- 1:56:27Speaker 3: and two Bears at the three and two Commanders Command
- 1:56:30Speaker 3: has pulled off a win I didn't think they'd get
- 1:56:32Speaker 3: last week.
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: So it's Chicago at a lot of teams I don't have.
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: I don't have this game written down on my sheet.
- 1:56:40Speaker 2: So Chicago is at Washington. Yes, yeah, okay, what's the spread, Mike?
- 1:56:45Speaker 2: What do you have? Oh?
- 1:56:46Speaker 1: Now you want to Now you want to consult our.
- 1:56:49Speaker 7: Washington square and a half. Let's get the accurate one.
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: God forbid to be honest. I don't do this for
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: the spread. I just do it for the games, and
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: I can write it and then I look forward.
- 1:57:00Speaker 7: Funny enough, printed this out for me days ago. Usually
- 1:57:03Speaker 7: it's the morning of and this is the most accurate spreads.
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: So Washington by four and a half. Is that what
- 1:57:09Speaker 2: you guys had? Yeah? Yeah, that's what it says on
- 1:57:12Speaker 2: right in the draft Kings, I'll print one for you guys.
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: I yeah, invertently left this one off my list. Maybe
- 1:57:19Speaker 2: I got to the Monday night game and I didn't
- 1:57:21Speaker 2: realize there was two Monday night games until Fred's double header.
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: Uh, this is actually a good game. I mean that
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: the you know, the two quarterbacks that want ahead of
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: Drake and I'm going to go with Chicago. I just
- 1:57:32Speaker 1: I think that they're starting to find a little bit
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: of a stride and I don't know, I like what
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: they're doing, big opportunity called.
- 1:57:43Speaker 7: I'm gonna take the three minutes I'm gonna take the
- 1:57:46Speaker 7: home team.
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: I'm going to take Chicago as well. I think the
- 1:57:51Speaker 2: by kind of came at a bad time for them.
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: I thought they were finding their groove offensively under Ben Johnson.
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: So I'm gonna see if they can exercise the demons
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: of the place where they their season spirals irreparably out
- 1:58:06Speaker 2: of control last year with that hail Mary.
- 1:58:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Bears as well. I think.
- 1:58:13Speaker 3: They got something going on up there, and as Paul
- 1:58:17Speaker 3: and I said, the Commanders are going to have an
- 1:58:20Speaker 3: off year.
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: But you know what, I think would be. I mean,
- 1:58:22Speaker 2: I know people don't care as long as Drake May
- 1:58:24Speaker 2: is great, but I think it would be good for
- 1:58:27Speaker 2: the league if that entire class, like if those guys
- 1:58:31Speaker 2: all look pretty competent, which right now I would say
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: all six of them have have have shown signs of
- 1:58:36Speaker 2: being competent now JJ McCarthy very very brief, but the
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: others have had some periods of success, all five of them.
- 1:58:43Speaker 4: Ye, all right, Now we move back to one o'clock
- 1:58:46Speaker 4: on CBS. The three and two Patriots are at the
- 1:58:49Speaker 4: one in four Saints.
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: Pat Rots by three and a half.
- 1:58:53Speaker 4: Y respect, I disagree, respect, I agree.
- 1:58:58Speaker 9: To be more.
- 1:58:59Speaker 4: Yes, Oh you think so?
- 1:59:01Speaker 2: Out of my god, I was trying to listen to
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: my gout there totally for two and a half shows
- 1:59:04Speaker 2: how I was overlooking the Saints now with disrespect, now
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: with being disrespectful.
- 1:59:10Speaker 3: Three and a half's say, the Saints are tough, but
- 1:59:13Speaker 3: that means we're really good when we beat them.
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: Paul, Yeah, gotta hurry. Do you think they should be
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: favored by more than this?
- 1:59:19Speaker 16: I do?
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: So what are you saying?
- 1:59:22Speaker 4: I just think the Saints are you know, could be
- 1:59:24Speaker 4: a competitive.
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: Kind of hard to have those two things, right, we
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: got it that good.
- 1:59:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna go Patriots. I think even a little bit
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: of a slow start, I think this game will be
- 1:59:33Speaker 1: close and kind of stressful. Patriots pulled away at the end.
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: I'm gonna say twenty seven.
- 1:59:37Speaker 7: Sixteen Patriots thirty one Saints fourteen.
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I'm I'm with close to my score, I'm
- 1:59:53Speaker 2: with them. I don't see this game being competitive. Twenty
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: seven to six.
- 1:59:57Speaker 3: New England Patriots go into New Orleans against a very
- 2:00:01Speaker 3: feisty Saints team. Take care of business thirty five fourteen.
- 2:00:08Speaker 3: I love it, okay, thirty five fourteen?
- 2:00:11Speaker 1: Oh nice?
- 2:00:13Speaker 4: Any parting thoughts anyone?
- 2:00:15Speaker 2: No, no, just any biggest thing?
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: Yeah, go Peppa. Don't don't turn the ball over, you know,
- 2:00:18Speaker 1: just don't play stupid, sloppy. You can start all a
- 2:00:20Speaker 1: little flat, that's okay, but don't come out throwing picks
- 2:00:23Speaker 1: or fumbles.
- 2:00:24Speaker 3: Right, take care of the ball. Look at this guy,
- 2:00:26Speaker 3: all right, that's going to do it. For this edition,
