- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on your uh huh, I sure will A good
- 0:06Speaker 1: morning everybody. You are listening to the voice, Oh, come
- 0:10Speaker 1: on now, digny if you will. One and only, Steve
- 0:13Speaker 1: Harvey got a radio show, you know, one of the
- 0:17Speaker 1: things about being successful. And I was sharing this just
- 0:21Speaker 1: the other day with a young man and he asked me.
- 0:26Speaker 1: He said, hey, man, I just don't see how you
- 0:30Speaker 1: get up that early in the morning. I just don't
- 0:33Speaker 1: see how, man, it would kill me to get up
- 0:36Speaker 1: this early in the morning. Well, I sat down and
- 0:38Speaker 1: I'm listening to it because it's just a thousand times
- 0:41Speaker 1: I've heard it, you know, and my life is, you know,
- 0:44Speaker 1: not too different from a lot of people's lives. There's
- 0:46Speaker 1: a lot of people out there that rise early, and
- 0:50Speaker 1: I just sit there, man, because I mean, first of all,
- 0:53Speaker 1: I'm grateful to be able to have a job. I'm
- 0:56Speaker 1: so grateful to be able to do one and several
- 0:58Speaker 1: that I happened to enjoy doing. I mean, you know,
- 1:01Speaker 1: it's work, and it's difficult at times, but I mean,
- 1:04Speaker 1: you know I wanted this. You know you got it.
- 1:06Speaker 1: You know you can't ask God for nothing, any give
- 1:08Speaker 1: it to you, then be mad that you got it.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Don't make no sense. You know. The problem with asking
- 1:13Speaker 1: God for stuff is a lot of times we asking
- 1:16Speaker 1: for stuff, we don't really know what all it encompasses,
- 1:18Speaker 1: what all it really is. And I ask for this.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Now along the way, I've gotten far more than I
- 1:24Speaker 1: asked for. I want you to do. Understand that, and
- 1:28Speaker 1: you know that's His grace at work in my life.
- 1:30Speaker 1: But I get up early and I go to work
- 1:32Speaker 1: because I do understand something that it is not walking
- 1:36Speaker 1: up to you. Nobody walks up to people normally and
- 1:40Speaker 1: just hand them checks all the time, and enough checks
- 1:43Speaker 1: to sustain your life, and not only sustain it, but
- 1:46Speaker 1: to have a life that where you could enjoy and
- 1:49Speaker 1: do some of the things you want to do. I
- 1:51Speaker 1: don't know the person that walks out hands out that
- 1:53Speaker 1: money just to be doing it. And then with a
- 1:56Speaker 1: lifestyle though, where you can you know, give your kids Christmas,
- 2:00Speaker 1: you know, take your family on vacation, you know, a year,
- 2:03Speaker 1: once a year. I don't know nobody passing out to
- 2:05Speaker 1: kind of money. So I get up early in the morning.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I get at it. I was taught to get up
- 2:10Speaker 1: early in the morning by my father because my father says,
- 2:15Speaker 1: aint nothing gonna come to you while you lay in now.
- 2:18Speaker 1: And you know what, it's just true, man, it's just
- 2:21Speaker 1: a little common sense. Little old people smart man. They've
- 2:23Speaker 1: been around a long time. You don't get old. You
- 2:25Speaker 1: know some old foods out there, but you know you
- 2:27Speaker 1: don't have to deal with them. But old people are
- 2:29Speaker 1: pretty smart, man. They've learned a lot along the way.
- 2:32Speaker 1: And waking up early and getting out it is one
- 2:34Speaker 1: of them things. And I ask everybody man to think
- 2:36Speaker 1: about this scenario of your life. If a day has
- 2:39Speaker 1: twenty four hours in it, and let's just say you
- 2:43Speaker 1: choose to sleep eight of those hours because they tell
- 2:47Speaker 1: you you need eight hours sleep, so you sleep eight hours.
- 2:51Speaker 1: That's a third of your life asleep already, just a
- 2:55Speaker 1: third of your life is spent asleep if you gonna
- 2:59Speaker 1: do eight hours. Now, let's say you have a job
- 3:03Speaker 1: that you work eight hours, and it is not the
- 3:05Speaker 1: job of your dreams. It's not your dream career, your
- 3:08Speaker 1: dream profession. It's just the one you took, like all
- 3:11Speaker 1: of us, to get it started. And then, like all
- 3:14Speaker 1: of us, some of us end up having to state
- 3:15Speaker 1: that because we've created these bills, because we checked and check,
- 3:18Speaker 1: so we can't leave it because we'll lose what we've
- 3:21Speaker 1: worked for. So let's just say you got a job
- 3:24Speaker 1: that you go to work to for eight hours. That's
- 3:26Speaker 1: another third of your life. That's two thirds of your life.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Feel how you want to feel about your two thirds? Well,
- 3:33Speaker 1: I like sleep. Okay, cool, there's a scripture about that too.
- 3:36Speaker 1: But now you spent two thirds of your life one
- 3:38Speaker 1: on a job you don't care for if you're not
- 3:40Speaker 1: happy there, or one that just pays the bills and
- 3:42Speaker 1: it's not your dream job or career. Another third of
- 3:45Speaker 1: your life is sleep. Oh now, let's hold on. Let's
- 3:47Speaker 1: talk about the one hour of preparation that it may
- 3:50Speaker 1: take to get to the job. That's seventeen hours. Let's
- 3:54Speaker 1: say your drive time, let's say getting to your job
- 3:57Speaker 1: for the average person is anywhere between thirty to an hour.
- 4:01Speaker 1: That's an average of what it takes the average person. Now,
- 4:04Speaker 1: some people out there hustling way harder than that. But
- 4:06Speaker 1: let's just say your average is an hour getting to work.
- 4:10Speaker 1: You add another hour to that going to work. You've
- 4:13Speaker 1: now spent eighteen hours out of the twenty four doing
- 4:18Speaker 1: something that's either nonproductive, you're not happy with you're not
- 4:23Speaker 1: pleased about. It is not your dream job, it's not
- 4:25Speaker 1: your dream profession. And rest of the time you sleep
- 4:27Speaker 1: eighteen hours. Now you got to come from the job,
- 4:30Speaker 1: so let's just say it's another hour to get back home.
- 4:32Speaker 1: That's nineteen hours. Nineteen hours out of a twenty four
- 4:35Speaker 1: hour day. You now have five hours left in your day.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Oh you watch TV two hours a day. Okay, excuse me.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Let's put now you put two hours of TV on
- 4:45Speaker 1: that you've just spent twenty one. You now have three
- 4:47Speaker 1: hours in the day to do something super productive for
- 4:53Speaker 1: the development of yourself and the future of your family,
- 4:57Speaker 1: and your future as a person and what you can
- 5:00Speaker 1: for your family. Uh oh, I need to chill. I
- 5:05Speaker 1: need to smoke one. Uh Oh, I needed some time
- 5:09Speaker 1: at Happy I'll seem like all I do is dry
- 5:11Speaker 1: to work and go to work. I'm gonna go out
- 5:14Speaker 1: with the fellas drink one. Okay, let's say you spend
- 5:18Speaker 1: two hours at Happy. Ill nobody go to a Happy
- 5:21Speaker 1: Hours just for a hour. Let's say you spend two
- 5:23Speaker 1: hours at Happy, I'll all smokeing all some video games.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Let's throw that in there. Two hours of smoking, chilling
- 5:29Speaker 1: video games that's twenty three hours of your day gone.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Don't you see how your day slips away from you?
- 5:36Speaker 1: So why would you get up early? You get up
- 5:39Speaker 1: early to get a jump. You get up early to produce,
- 5:43Speaker 1: to plan, to become productive. You get up early in
- 5:47Speaker 1: the morning to care about every single minute of your day.
- 5:51Speaker 1: You wake up early in the morning because you have
- 5:53Speaker 1: a plan, a mission, You have something you want to accomplish.
- 5:57Speaker 1: The earlier you get up, the more time you have
- 5:59Speaker 1: just for you to devote to your plan. You map
- 6:02Speaker 1: it out, you make them, send some emails, whatever it
- 6:05Speaker 1: is you need to do to get your dream under way.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Then you go get ready, Then you get in your
- 6:12Speaker 1: car and go to work. Then you go to your job,
- 6:14Speaker 1: but on your job, instead of sitting at your lunch
- 6:16Speaker 1: break messing around with a bunch of people laughing and
- 6:19Speaker 1: talking about nothing, playing dominoes, why don't you take that
- 6:22Speaker 1: hour to do some more research, to send out some
- 6:24Speaker 1: more emails, to put some feelings out there, to see
- 6:28Speaker 1: what can get you in the place that you want
- 6:30Speaker 1: to be. Then when you get off, instead of driving
- 6:33Speaker 1: straight home, why don't you go somewhere in a meeting,
- 6:36Speaker 1: You take in a session with some people in a
- 6:38Speaker 1: positive mental state, group of people that get together network
- 6:41Speaker 1: for business, not drink at happy hour. I set network
- 6:45Speaker 1: for business. So after you've done that eight that you
- 6:47Speaker 1: don't really care for on a job, you spend some
- 6:50Speaker 1: more time pursuing, looking into researching, working towards, sending out
- 6:55Speaker 1: some more applications, putting in some more time to build
- 6:59Speaker 1: your new app discussing some more networking ideas. Okay, that's
- 7:03Speaker 1: your happy hour. Then when you go home, instead of chilling,
- 7:07Speaker 1: drinking one, having a cold, one, smoking one, playing a
- 7:11Speaker 1: video game, why don't you take that two hours and
- 7:13Speaker 1: devote that to that business idea. You got to that
- 7:17Speaker 1: family that you talk about, You really want spend some
- 7:19Speaker 1: time with your children, put something into them. Do something. Man,
- 7:24Speaker 1: when all these precious hours that God gives all of
- 7:27Speaker 1: us in the course of a day, take advantage of
- 7:30Speaker 1: every minute of that. No human being has more than
- 7:33Speaker 1: twenty four hours a day, including myself. But if you
- 7:37Speaker 1: care about every single minute of that day, you'll be
- 7:41Speaker 1: amazed at how much you could get accomplished in a
- 7:44Speaker 1: twenty four hour day. But you can't get none of
- 7:47Speaker 1: that happening because you sleep, and you chilling and you
- 7:52Speaker 1: smoking okay? What has that done for you, your family,
- 7:56Speaker 1: or your future. Care about every minute of your day.
