- 0:27SPEAKER_02: Welcome, welcome, welcome to another episode of In the Creest with Danny and Kevin, a coast-to-coast discussion of D2 Men's Lacrosse.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: I'm your co-host, Kevin Stenstrom, and with me as always is the Nostradamus of D2 Lacrosse, Danny Moran.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: The Nostradamus.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: Mr.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: Omniscient.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: All I know is I know nothing.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: So it's funny.
- 0:54SPEAKER_02: I looked up, obviously I know Nostradamus.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: I go back like, oh, he's had all these predictions way back when, the things in the future.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: I actually went back and looked at my top 20.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: This is our top 20 show, as people know by the title and everything else.
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: I went back to see how well I did last year.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: And I I I hit 14 out of 20.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: The top 10 was pretty damn close.
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: At least they're most of the ones I had in the top 10 ended up in the top 10.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: But I I whiffed on like six.
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: Some of my big ones were like Rockhurst.
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: I had him in my top 10.
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: They didn't even end up in the top 20.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: I didn't have Anderson, Malloy, or Newberry in the top 20, and look what they did last year.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: Dude, I said Anderson wouldn't be 500.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: So that's why you're no Stradomus and I'm not.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: I'm no Stradomus.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: I know nothing.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: So anyway, it's our top 20.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: It's our top one.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: It's one of our best ones, Kev.
- 1:51unknown: I'm on top of the world.
- 1:54unknown: I'm on top of the world.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: Hello, imagine dragons.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: We always do the old people's music.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: So I figured we'd do some of the young kids'.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: There we go.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Top of the world.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Who's going to be on top of the world this year, Kev?
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: In the Division II lacrosse men's.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: And don't expect us to get it right.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: But it's something you it's something for the water cooler, as they say.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: And uh this is always my favorite one.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: This is my favorite.
- 2:22SPEAKER_02: I love this.
- 2:23SPEAKER_02: I always have trouble doing it, Danny.
- 2:26SPEAKER_02: Usually the top ten, this once again, this top ten, maybe not the sequence, but the the ones that are in there I feel fairly good about.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: It's when I get to that next 10, and then really as I get down to the bottom, I had, Danny, probably five, I had seven more that I can tell you did not make the top 20 that I at some time during our conference previews, I thought they would be in the top 20.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: And you know what?
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: I've had some teams that weren't in the top 20 in it this year, and some teams that were in the top 20 not in it this year, Kev.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: So it just goes by, you know, we we did these conference previews, we did our homework.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: So I'm kind of going along with that.
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: So where do you want to start?
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: Do you want to start at one or do you want to start at 20?
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: Start at the end, work our way to the top, my brother.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: Well, let's start with you.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: Who do you have at number 20?
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: At number 20, Kev, representing the CACC, my friend.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: The Wilmington Wildcats.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Ah.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: They received an at-large bid last year at the national tourney.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: I believe they have an upper echelon offensive productivity with 16 goals a game last year.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: They are led by a lethal attack unit by Andrew Zubiak, who was CACC player of the year last year.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: All-American honorable mention.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: They're super solid in goal with Daniel Flynn.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: I like the Wilmington Wildcats at number 20, Kev.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: Good pick.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: I have them a little bit higher, but that's what that's what happens in this in this top 20.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: It's tough for me.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: My number 20 is the Mercy Mavericks.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: They return on D, a lot of on D, as well as having Cam Dorfman and face-off specialists at Kenny Summit.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: That keeps them in the top 20, but they lose some key offensive threats that put them lower than where they've been in the years past.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't have mercy on my top 20, Kev.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: They didn't make it this year.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying they can't make it in.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: And I'm not saying they're not worthy.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: They're just not in my top 20 right now.
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: I'll tell you.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: I kept them in because probably more because their mercy and their pedigree.
- 4:55SPEAKER_02: Because there's other ones.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: Listen, Assumption's not in mind.
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: Montevallo's not in mind.
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: Westminster's not in mind.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: Roberts Wesleyan, that I said was probably in the top 20.
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: There's so many that that could be in that.
- 5:06SPEAKER_02: And Mercy's the one probably just tipped the scales a little bit by what they have at special teams coming back, I think, was the one that really tipped me to go 20.
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: Excellent choice, my friend.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: My number 19 is Rollins.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: They lost some key offensive weapons, but they still have depth there.
- 5:32SPEAKER_02: Their D looks very strong.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: They have goalkeeper options, especially with Colin Selters of Limestone coming over.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: Could they be out of the top 20?
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: Yes, but I could not do that same way as Mercy based on their track record.
- 5:50SPEAKER_02: So I have them at 19.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: Excellent choice.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: Excellent choice.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: I have representing the NE-10 at 19, Kev, the Assumption Greyhounds.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: I believe I believe the Greyhounds made great strides in 25 under Coach Bordoon.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: They're led by face-off specialist Connor Stack, who was third team All-American last year.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: Another all-American in goal with Shane Corcoran.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: And their top scorer was only a sophomore, Kev.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: So I believe that this team, like I said, made great strides, and I like the Greyhounds at number 19.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: I like that.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: Like I said, I went back and forth about them going in, and you make a very good argument of why they're in there.
- 6:38SPEAKER_02: I can't refute that.
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: Who do you have at 18?
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Representing the Sunshine State Conference, the Rollins Tars, Kev.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: We're one off.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: You know, the injury bug hit them last year in the 25th season, but they came on strong at the end.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: They do have a great mix of younger and older players with experience.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: Because of those injuries, those younger players got experience.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: And I believe with that experience, gives them depth at both sides of the ball, and they're deep at face-off.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: So at number 18, I like the Rollins Tars.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: Of course I like that one because you and I are close with that one.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: So I like it a lot.
- 7:17SPEAKER_02: Okay, my number 18 are the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: Very good choice.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: They return top six scores and they have a solid defense.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: I think they are poised this year to make a statement, and they could climb higher.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: Look at they they're finally at the point where their players are more seasoned and experienced than they have been in the past.
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: And so that's what gets them in the top 20.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: Now, last year I think I had them in the top 20, and they really didn't end up in the top 20.
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: This year, I think they're a solid choice for that in the top 20.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: That's why I have them at 18.
- 7:55SPEAKER_02: Good choice.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: Good choice.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: What do you got at 17?
- 7:58SPEAKER_02: Okay, at 17, that's I've got Wilmington Wildcats.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: From what you said, you know, they returned their top six scores.
- 8:05SPEAKER_02: You kind of listed all the good reasons.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: They lose a little on D, including Paul Army, but they bring back a solid core as well as their face-off specialist Connor Whitmer, which I think is key.
- 8:17SPEAKER_02: He was at 66%.
- 8:18SPEAKER_02: So I think Wilmington's very solid in the top 20.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Excellent choice.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: For 17, representing the Conference Carolinas, Kev, the Belmont Abbey Crusaders.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: I have it 17.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: This team, they went 11-4 last year overall, 6-1 in conference with mostly sophomores on the offensive side of the ball, Kev.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: They have, if you ask me, an upper echelon defense and an elite attack unit.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: They have a new offensive coordinator this year, which I think is going to give Belmont Abbey a little bit of a different look for a lot of teams.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: You're right.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: At 17, I like the Belmont Abbey Crusaders.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Who do you have at 16?
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: At 16, also representing the Conference Carolinas.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: I have the North Greenville.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: No, they're the Trailblazers.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: Trailblazers.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: It's going to take me a long time to get that right.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: The Trailblazers.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: Last year's Conference Carolinas champ, Kev, they had an underrated and overlooked defense, if you ask me.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: Cole Jenkins, Nick Shaller, and Dalton Wilkins caused 65 turnovers between the three of them.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: Offensively, they have a senior-laden attack that will be lethal, that was led by Conference Carolina's player of the year, Mr.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: Caden Castle.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: So I like the North Greenville.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: Trailblazers.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: Well, you got that right at the end.
- 10:07SPEAKER_02: That's funny.
- 10:10SPEAKER_02: I did not have them in my top 20.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: And they were one that's one of mine that could have been in.
- 10:18SPEAKER_02: You just made almost a better argument.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: Now I'm rethinking what I should have done.
- 10:22SPEAKER_02: But that's a good pick.
- 10:23SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 10:23SPEAKER_02: I don't know if I would have them that high, but I can see where they would be.
- 10:27SPEAKER_02: I think this is where you get into the the time frame of this 15 to 20.
- 10:32SPEAKER_02: And ones that didn't make it could be anywhere in that top, the the 11 to 20, right?
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: That's kind of the way it works.
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: So okay.
- 10:41SPEAKER_02: My 16 Newberry.
- 10:45SPEAKER_02: Oh boy.
- 10:47SPEAKER_02: Now could they go higher?
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 10:51SPEAKER_02: Could they go lower?
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: It depends.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: I think it depends on their transfer production.
- 10:57SPEAKER_02: Like who did they bring in?
- 10:59SPEAKER_02: Who did they bring in?
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: We don't we as you remember, we didn't have that in their roster on the website.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: They were very, very good last year.
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: They lost some players, but they kept a very good core, and I think they're going to be poised to definitely be in the top 20.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: Could they definitely go higher than what I have at 16?
- 11:19SPEAKER_02: Yes, they could.
- 11:20SPEAKER_02: I put them there just because of the unknowns that I had in my mind.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: Understood.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: You make a good argument.
- 11:27SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 11:27SPEAKER_02: Who do you have number 15?
- 11:29SPEAKER_02: 15 from the NE10, the pace setters.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: They're pretty strong at offense returning, but they lost a lot on D from my perspective, which is why they dropped to this point at 15.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: As you know, Danny, they're one of these teams that usually are in the top 10 or very, very close.
- 11:50SPEAKER_02: And they they're in the top 10 and they stay there before they even have any games.
- 11:55SPEAKER_02: And then when they play, right, they show why they're at that level.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: They usually move up.
- 12:01SPEAKER_02: They usually move up.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: And I could see where pace would move up.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: But you saw how they ended last year.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: I think they're at that same level this year.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: And so that's why I have them at 15.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: Excellent.
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: Excellent.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: How about you?
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: At 15, representing the ECC.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: I have the Malloy Lions, Kev.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: I think they're well coached and scrappy.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: They're a high IQ squad.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: They got a lot of offensive weapons, a top-tier attack unit with Green, Corcoran, Taylor, and Poolis.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: They have McCabe and LSM Thomas Kofott on defense, who's just like Zorro with a stick in his hand.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: The guy's amazing.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: And they're solid at face-off.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, they're just a solid squad, top to bottom.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: A little question in goal right now.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: That's why I have them back a little bit.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: But at 15, I like the Malloy Lions.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: That's a good, good pick.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: I have them higher.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: Higher.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: Which could be one of these that I may uh not make.
- 13:11SPEAKER_02: We may see where what happens at the end of the year, but I'll show you why I do it.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I agree with you.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: Um I think they're loaded for bear.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: That's why I have them a little bit higher.
- 13:19SPEAKER_02: Who do you have at 14?
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Representing, excuse me, pardon me.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: The GLVC, the Lewis Flyers.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: Here's a team that's physical on defense and deep with talent, Kev.
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: Led by Malachi Good, who had 74 points last year.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: And yet they got Caden Donahue in goal.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: They're solid.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: I just expect to be I expect Lewis to be one of the better teams in the country.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: So I got Lewis coming in at number 14.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: I have them a little bit higher too, and we'll get to that.
- 13:56SPEAKER_02: My number 14 is Colorado Mesa.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: They lose JJ Brummet, their number one scorer.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: But other than that, they return everyone, including on the defensive side and special teams.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: They've got Shaden Shields and goal at 88%, and they return 88% of their defensive unit.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: So I think now could I put them higher than maybe a Lewis or a Rockhurst?
- 14:25SPEAKER_02: I could.
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: I think usually in the past, and the pass is no indication of the future, the GLVC teams have usually won out against Colorado Mesa.
- 14:36SPEAKER_02: So I put them at 14.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: Could Colorado Mesa go up?
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: I think they're solid in the top 20, though.
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: Excellent.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: Excellent points, Cove.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: Who do you have at 13?
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: 13.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: This kind of surprised me where they ended up, but I have Seaton Hill at 13.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: You crazy.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: You just crazy that one.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: They need that.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: They have a new face-off specialist, new starting close D.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: That is what dropped them out of the top 10 for me.
- 15:11SPEAKER_02: You remember last year, they were loaded for Bear everywhere.
- 15:15SPEAKER_02: And they deserve to be in the top 10.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: They ended up in the top 10.
- 15:18SPEAKER_02: They deserve to be there.
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: They are always a solid team, but that's why I dropped them out of the top 10 and have them at number 13.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: How about you?
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: Interesting take on that, my friend.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: At 13, representing the Armac, I have the Colorado Mesa.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: Boys from Colorado, the Road Warriors, deep, depth, talent.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: They win championships there, Kev.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: They're winners.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: They're winners.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: They're led offensively by Attack Connor Jensen and Dylan Pless.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Again, like you mentioned, goalie Shaden Shields, who's phenomenal.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: A little question of face-off there, like you said, but you know what?
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: Until somebody can really knock the snot out of them, I think Colorado Mace is one of the better teams in the country.
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: Always going to give a team a game, can come down and wipe the snot off you, or come down and lose by one.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: You know, they're going to give you a game.
- 16:16SPEAKER_02: They're going to give you a game, and they're one of those teams that beat teams you don't expect and sometimes lose one that you don't expect also.
- 16:24SPEAKER_02: But they are really, really, really good.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: And I expect them to be there this year.
- 16:29SPEAKER_02: Yep, absolutely.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: Who's your number 12?
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: All right, number 12, representing the Peach Belt, the Flagler Saints, Kev.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: Six out of the seven top scorers return.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: Attackman, Trace McDonald, and Ben Nyberg led a really good offense, and those guys return.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: The defense will be led by Ty Secondback, and goal.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: They have two goalies, Josh Stevens and Wade Lamone, that split time last year.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: They both come back.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: They're athletic, they're fast, they're super well coached.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: They were right on the cusp last year.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: I think that this year they're gonna start out with maybe people knowing about them now, you know.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: Flagler's gonna have a little bit of a target on their back.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: They're not the new guy anymore.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: There's these guys are players.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: So I I want to see how they start out, but I think uh I love the Flagler Saints here at number 12.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: I think them they'll probably move up.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: So I have nothing to say, Danny, because my number 12 is Flagler.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, because you are quality, my friend.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: The only thing I would add and why they're at 12 and not higher, is they lost a little more on D.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: And there's some unknowns on who's gonna do that from transfers other than on how the who's gonna step up.
- 17:53SPEAKER_02: But you're right, I agree with you.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: They can move up beyond 12 easily.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yep.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: I think they're they're a fast athletic team.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: If you see what Brian Duncan's done with these guys in four or five years, I mean he's just getting better recruits.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: It's not a hard sell to come to St.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: Augustine.
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: He's gonna he's gonna be a uh team.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Yes, agree.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: He's gonna be one of the top teams from now on.
- 18:19SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 18:19SPEAKER_02: You want to know my number 11?
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: St.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: Leo.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: Can you say loaded?
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: They are loaded.
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: The only reason they are not in my top ten is that they have not been there in a few years.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: And that I think does make a difference sometimes.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: Could they get up in the top 10?
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: Hell yes, they could.
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: I think they're that talented.
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: They've got that much experience across the whole field.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: That's my number 11.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: You make an excellent argument, Mr.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Stenstrom.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: Who do you have at 11?
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: At number 11, I have Coach Mariana, the NE10, and the pace setters.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, there you go.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: Solid squad, top to bottom, well coached, high IQ squad, year in and year out, Kev.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: No matter where they are, they're always one of the better teams out there.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: Uh, they're gonna be led by senior attackmen, uh, Declan Landers and Will Donowski.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: They're they're solid and special teams in goalie with Jack Kern.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: Coach is a great recruiter, a great coach.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: I think they're gonna be right there in the mix uh again.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: And uh at number 11, I like the pace setters.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: It's a good choice.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: It's a good choice.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: I look I had it in a different spot, but like you said, I think you make a good argument there.
- 19:46SPEAKER_02: All right, who do you have at 10?
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: As we move into the top 10, here we go.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: Here we go to the top 10.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: At number 10, representing the SAC.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: I have the Newberry Wolves, Kev.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: Um, I think they're solid and special teams, a young yet formidable attack unit.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: Their defense is tough and athletic with those limestone transfers.
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: Heard they looked very good in the fall.
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: I think Coach Utter has been putting in the ingredients in for the last couple of years, and he's got he's got the guys.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: It's just about execution now.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: So at number 10, I like the Newberry Wolves.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: You saw where I had him.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 20:33SPEAKER_02: My number 10 is close to where it's just a flip of where you had them.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: Same thing.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: I I have Lewis as number 10.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: And you had Lewis back around 15 or 16, right?
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: I had Lewis at 14.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: So look at I had I had Newberry at 16, you have them at 10, I have Lewis at 10, you had them at 14.
- 20:55SPEAKER_02: Very, very close.
- 20:58SPEAKER_02: Their attack returns.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: They also added Limestone's Carta Kaczynski to MIDI.
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: They have good midis, but have not really worked together yet.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: They've got some that are coming from limestone.
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: I think they're going to be really solid.
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: They lose face-off specialists, Don Torello, but they've got all the space-off specialists that have been proven and are above the 50%.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: So I think they are going to be right there.
- 21:21SPEAKER_02: That's why I have them in my top 10.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: Kaczynski's going to be a handful in that conference.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, he's got SAC, you know, uh notches in his belt with limestone, and he was good at limestone.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: He was one of those players that just kept looking, go, damn, that kid is good, man.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: Don't take your eyes off him.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: Don't take a defender off him.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: You know, they had Zach Terry and had McGarry and that's the first time.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: That's the problem, right?
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: And that now he's going to be doing that for Lewis because they've got a bunch of options.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's going to be really good for Lewis.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: So I think that's a great, that's a great number 10, Kev.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: Okay, my number nine.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Is Rockhurst out of the GLVC?
- 22:03SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: That's a big one, dude.
- 22:06SPEAKER_02: I did this with them last year.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: I got burned.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: So come on, Coach Kelly.
- 22:11SPEAKER_02: I'm believing you.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: I believe in your team, man.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: Come on.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: They're loaded in all areas.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: Except for close D.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: They have a few replacements there for starters.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: I wanted actually to put them ahead of all that my GLVC teams that I have in this, but I didn't because of last year.
- 22:30SPEAKER_02: But I just think on paper they look like they can be a top 10 team.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: And now they just have to prove it on the field.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: It's interesting because I don't have them in my top 20.
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: I didn't think you did because I hadn't heard him yet, and I figured you would have already had him.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: That's interesting.
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: That's very interesting.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: At number nine, Kev, also representing the GLVC, the Maryville Saints.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: I think this is a team that every year is just really, really good.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: They had a strong and stout defense last year that only led up like nine goals per game.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: They're super solid from top to bottom.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: You know, they have Fogo Shea Rayburn, who is an All-American honorable mention.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: They got Short Stick Middy John Charlton, who led that defense last year.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: And with Simonson, Tobias, and Zemey, I don't know.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: They're going to be a tough out.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: He does a good job of coaching, man.
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: He was the D2 coach of the year last year, and he does a very good job there.
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: So I like the Saints of Maryville at number nine.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: You'll see where I've got him.
- 23:43SPEAKER_02: How about number eight there, Mr.
- 23:45SPEAKER_02: Moran?
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: This is probably going to blow a lot of people's minds right here.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: I got the St.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: Leo Lions representing the Sunshine State Conference at number eight, Kev.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: The return of Greg Palmer and John Rauchy, along with that seasoned veteran offense, Mr.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: No Jin.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: No Jin.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: We got it right.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: Mr.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: Nealin, my man, Thomas Nealin.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: There we go.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: You know, LeBlanc, along with Ben Baker, a defense wouldn't Wills, in my estimation, one of the better defensers in the country.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: And James Davies and Jimmy McDon McGonagall.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: They're solid at special teams, and they are lethal on man up, Kev.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: So at number eight, I got the Lions of St.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: Leo.
- 24:34SPEAKER_02: I cannot refute you on that pick.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: Like I said, I didn't have them in the top ten, but they are loaded, and they could easily be up there.
- 24:43SPEAKER_02: And I could have had them up there.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: I just didn't.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: And one of the reasons is where I put my number eight, which is Malloy.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: And there you go.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: Malloy Lions.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: They're loaded too, just like St.
- 24:57SPEAKER_02: Leo.
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: Only question probably is goalkeeper.
- 25:04SPEAKER_02: But like Coach Dunn said, they've got a guy that's been waiting in the rings, wings, he's ready to go.
- 25:10SPEAKER_02: I could have even had them a little bit higher.
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: You'll see who my number seven pick is.
- 25:15SPEAKER_02: They could have been in that slot.
- 25:17SPEAKER_02: I I just couldn't put my number seven.
- 25:20SPEAKER_02: I couldn't switch them for obvious reasons when I get there.
- 25:24SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 25:25SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: Because my number seven, I guess I'm up for this.
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: It's my turn, right?
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes, yes.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: Is Lenore Ryan.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: Oh, wow.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: No real weakness except goalkeeper position.
- 25:41SPEAKER_02: No they, you know, the need the defense needs to step up a little bit more, I think, than they have in the past.
- 25:48SPEAKER_02: They don't have the players when they had like the Powells and the Masseys of that close D, but they're returning their defense.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: And I think they are look at Coach Perrin always knows how to coach this team.
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: He had a team that was practically brand new.
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:04SPEAKER_02: And they went 14 and 4 last year.
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: I think that's why I had to put Lenore Ryan at seven and Malloy at eight.
- 26:13SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 26:14SPEAKER_02: Interesting.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: At number seven, I have Lenore Ryan Bears, Kev.
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: We both have them at number seven.
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: I think they have a lethal offense and a beast at the dot with Matt Mancini.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: Donnie Powell, kids ridiculous out there with the ball.
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: You got Robert Walker and Jared Huff and Brushing Hannon and Morgan Mattish.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: They are stacked on the offensive side.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: They got some pretty good defenders too, and Parks Painter and Deacon Medwick on defense, like you said.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: Little questioning goal.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: They had a scrimmage yesterday the other day up in High Point.
- 26:53SPEAKER_01: I heard they started the freshman goalie, Long Island kid from Northport High School.
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: And I think the uh graduate student, red shirt graduate, Mr.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: Conlin got the second half.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: I didn't get any more reports on that, but I heard so they're still looking, I think, for that for that opening day.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: Goalie.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: So that's why I have them a little bit back.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: They should be higher usually in my in my top ten.
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: But like we talked about it in the conference preview last week for the sack.
- 27:26SPEAKER_02: Who knows what's going to happen?
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: They're going to be tough.
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: Are you kidding me?
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: You're not going to LR's gonna come in and kick your ass.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: They are good.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: Strong, fast, super well coached, stacked on offense.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: Again, little, little question in goal.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: And it looks like they're gonna try to straighten that out.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: Who's your number six?
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: My number six also representing the SAC.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: The Anderson Trojans.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: I have them uh at lethal, lethal attack unit.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: Excellent at face-off with Russia and Dixon.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, their offense is tough too.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: Bitterman, Cole Sparks, Raiden Badron, Matty Rogers.
- 28:11SPEAKER_01: Uh, just tough, solid on D, ending goal with Aiden Laughlin.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: You know, this is a team that went to the SAC championship last year, caught a lot of teams off guard and beat the snot out of them.
- 28:23SPEAKER_01: Pretty much everybody returns, Kev.
- 28:25SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: That's a good choice.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: That's a very good choice.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: They're gonna be tough.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: They're gonna be tough, the Anderson Trojans this year.
- 28:32SPEAKER_02: I definitely see them in the top ten.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 100%.
- 28:37SPEAKER_02: My number six, though, is Merriaville.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: You had them at nine, right?
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: I had them at nine.
- 28:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I have them at six.
- 28:45SPEAKER_02: They bring back a lot of firepower.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: D is very solid.
- 28:49SPEAKER_02: The only question I have is goalie Evan Alfano replacing Dylan Radke.
- 28:54SPEAKER_02: Now he's been in the wings.
- 28:57SPEAKER_02: I think he's gonna be ready.
- 29:00SPEAKER_02: I definitely think they're a top ten team.
- 29:04SPEAKER_02: Are they six or nine?
- 29:05SPEAKER_02: We'll see.
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: I just had him, just of what they've done, look what they did last year.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: Defense was great last year.
- 29:13SPEAKER_02: Going all the way to the final four.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: I guess, you know, like we always talk about offenses, you know.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: We all, you know, because that's the most exciting thing to look at.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: You know, oh, they do this, they got this guy, they got that guy.
- 29:25SPEAKER_01: But meanwhile, their defense just shutting people down.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: Maryville only gave up nine goals a game last year.
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: Like you had to earn your goals against Maryville.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: Once they got the ball, man, they good luck getting it back.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 29:41SPEAKER_02: They're really good team at I expect them to be pretty good, man.
- 29:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:45SPEAKER_02: All right, here's my number five, Danny.
- 29:48SPEAKER_02: It's the Wingate Bulldogs.
- 29:50SPEAKER_02: Ah, you're a smart man, Kevin.
- 29:52SPEAKER_02: You're a smart man.
- 29:54SPEAKER_02: They we talked about this, or I talked about this in the conference preview last week.
- 30:00SPEAKER_02: They may have the best offense in both attack and mini lines coming back in D2.
- 30:06SPEAKER_02: To me, their defense is a little bit of the question mark.
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: That is why I actually put them below Anderson.
- 30:15SPEAKER_02: You'll see where I've got them.
- 30:17SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 30:18SPEAKER_02: And last year is not an indicator, but you'll see where where I have uh put I couldn't put them ahead of Tampa either.
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: Tampa's in my top four, and I had to put Wingate.
- 30:31SPEAKER_02: It was one of these, it's one of these, Danny.
- 30:33SPEAKER_02: When we talked about this before.
- 30:35SPEAKER_02: Every year, it's like the top five, six, seven, like there's a few that can go up and down, right?
- 30:39SPEAKER_02: And I had Wingate solid at five.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, makes total sense.
- 30:43SPEAKER_01: Because you know why?
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: Because I had Wingate at number five.
- 30:47SPEAKER_02: Well, you're a smart, you are no Stradamus.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: Good one, Kev.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 30:55SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, the Wingate Bulldogs, lethal attack and midfield unit.
- 31:01SPEAKER_01: Uh, added depth at Fogo now is gonna help them.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: Man, Joey Moran, Kyle Spence, uh uh Sean Clark on offense, three All-Americans right there.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: Sean, Joey Moran is like Steph, Steph Curry of Division II.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: He can shoot from anywhere, either hand, doesn't matter.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: He can, he's tough, man.
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: And then you got just, you know, uh solid in goal in Quad Williams.
- 31:29SPEAKER_01: Solid in goal.
- 31:30SPEAKER_01: Again, added depth and photo.
- 31:33SPEAKER_01: Uh question a little bit on who's going to be that starting close.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: They lost a couple of guys.
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: But you know, Coach Boyle's teams are always very deep, and I think that defense is going to figure it's it figure it out.
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: I think that's probably you're right.
- 31:48SPEAKER_02: Figuring it out is like to me, it's not if, it's when.
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 31:53SPEAKER_02: Like they'll figure it out.
- 31:55SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: So so at number five, I like the Bulldogs of Wingate University.
- 32:01SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: Who's your number four?
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: My number four, the Tampa Spartans representing the Sunshine State Conference.
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: Kev, uh they lost a lot last year, but you know, Coach Clark, he's just a reloader.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: Um, they're strong defensively last year, which is uh, you know, we always think of Tampa as that 17, 18, 19 goal a game team.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: Last year they weren't that team, right?
- 32:29SPEAKER_01: Like a 13 goal a game.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: But they had a great face-off in Mikey Flores and just a super stout defense.
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: And that guy, Gordy Gumbold on DKF, dude, he's a beast.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: He's one of the better defenders in the country.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: He locks down motherfuckers.
- 32:49SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you, he's a locked down defender.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: Conley Stone, the same thing.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: And they're deep on offense.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: You know, Jackson Bashaw's coming back.
- 32:57SPEAKER_01: Tommy Ortega's coming back.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: Guys have been with JB for a couple of years know the system.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: So Tampa, they're gonna be Tampa.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: They're gonna be tough to beat.
- 33:07SPEAKER_01: Um, can't wait to see them play.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: So at number four, I got the Spartans of Tampa.
- 33:14SPEAKER_02: I love that choice, Danny.
- 33:16SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 33:17SPEAKER_02: My number four is Tampa.
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, you're the man because you're smart.
- 33:25SPEAKER_02: You you said it exactly right.
- 33:27SPEAKER_02: They did lose a little, they lost some key short stick D middies, they lost Mikey Flores at the dot.
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: The thing I keep on going back to is I could I have them lower?
- 33:42SPEAKER_02: Probably.
- 33:43SPEAKER_02: But until proven otherwise, I can't.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 33:47SPEAKER_02: I mean, last year I had them at eight, and they ended up number two in the country.
- 33:51SPEAKER_02: So I can't go against that.
- 33:53SPEAKER_02: They are always ready.
- 33:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 33:55SPEAKER_02: So number four is a good pick.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: Coach Club just, you know, he knows how to get these teams going.
- 34:01SPEAKER_01: They're just good, man.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: They're just well coached and good assistance and just good recruiting, and just it's got the whole package there.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:09SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 34:11SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 34:12SPEAKER_02: My number three, we're in the the final stretch here, Danny.
- 34:17SPEAKER_02: Yes, we are.
- 34:20SPEAKER_02: Anderson.
- 34:21SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 34:24SPEAKER_02: You said it.
- 34:25SPEAKER_02: You they took a big step last year.
- 34:27SPEAKER_02: You mentioned this.
- 34:29SPEAKER_02: And really, for them, their big step had to be beating uh got teams like Wingate.
- 34:34SPEAKER_02: They did Wingate, Lenore Ryan, and Newberry.
- 34:37SPEAKER_02: Their face-off special returns with a 61% save or face-off rate, all their shooters return, and there's no real gap in defense.
- 34:47SPEAKER_02: That's the only reason I had them a little bit higher than Wingate.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: And I have at number three.
- 34:53SPEAKER_02: Could Tampa be at three and Anderson at four?
- 34:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but Anderson didn't lose any.
- 34:58SPEAKER_02: So on paper, I got to say, look what they did last year.
- 35:01SPEAKER_02: They got everyone coming back.
- 35:02SPEAKER_02: They're my number three.
- 35:05SPEAKER_01: Makes complete sense.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: And I have no argument with that.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: I can totally understand you have them that high.
- 35:12SPEAKER_02: I can't wait to hear your number three.
- 35:14SPEAKER_02: Because I think we're down there somewhere that you and I are not in sync here.
- 35:18SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 35:18SPEAKER_01: I have representing the GMAC, the Seton Hill Griffiths at three.
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 35:27SPEAKER_01: Another deep and stacked team, well coached.
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: The Sheriff, Brunel, Herbster, Carter Green on offense, 160 points between those three guys, Kev.
- 35:40SPEAKER_01: They are a lethal little unit upon themselves.
- 35:44SPEAKER_01: Brunel is sick.
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: Herbster is sick.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: Carter Green is sick.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: They got Will Cody in goal.
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: Just a solid, solid goalie.
- 35:55SPEAKER_01: And then Color Green.
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: Cullen Green's going to lead that defense.
- 35:59SPEAKER_01: So I love what they do up at St.
- 36:02SPEAKER_01: A.
- 36:03SPEAKER_01: I mean Seton Hill.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: And again, I got them at number three, the Seton Hill Griffiths.
- 36:10SPEAKER_02: That's a good pick.
- 36:12SPEAKER_02: I did not, as you know, I didn't have them that high.
- 36:17SPEAKER_02: I think it's going to be interesting to see.
- 36:18SPEAKER_02: They easily could move in my in my ranking, right?
- 36:23SPEAKER_02: They easily can move up in the top ten.
- 36:25SPEAKER_02: They are a solid choice, I think, just from their pedigree to be in that top ten.
- 36:32SPEAKER_02: Well, it's I think this is going to be the real interesting one for you to watch between you and me where Seton Hill ends up, right?
- 36:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:41SPEAKER_01: Hey, you know, they always wind up up there, man.
- 36:44SPEAKER_01: They're they're just good, man.
- 36:47SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 36:48SPEAKER_01: Avante does a killer job.
- 36:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, he he does.
- 36:51SPEAKER_02: And I think I think they're gonna be up there this year.
- 36:54SPEAKER_02: He's gonna be Vine, he's gonna be in the NCAA tournament and see what they can do.
- 36:57SPEAKER_02: That's the way I look at it.
- 36:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I just you just can't ever count a Seton Hill Griffith team.
- 37:03SPEAKER_01: That's the type of team like no matter what conference you put them in, they'd be great.
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 37:09SPEAKER_01: They'd be a top team in that conference.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: You know, so that's how good they are.
- 37:13SPEAKER_01: All right, who do you have at number two?
- 37:15SPEAKER_01: At number two, I have the St.
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: Anslum's Hawks out of the N-10, Kev.
- 37:21SPEAKER_01: They were the only team to beat the champions last year, and they have the team to do it.
- 37:30SPEAKER_01: They have the squad.
- 37:32SPEAKER_01: They have given Adelphi, who's been a two-time national champ, everything.
- 37:37SPEAKER_01: I they don't want to play.
- 37:39SPEAKER_01: Adelphi don't want to play St.
- 37:40SPEAKER_01: A's because St.
- 37:42SPEAKER_01: A's knows how to play Adelphi.
- 37:44SPEAKER_01: It's a game when those guys play.
- 37:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:46SPEAKER_01: Uh Quinn Gannon at the dot, Finn Grenara in goal, Matt LeMay, Chris Cloughlin on offense.
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: They're deep at LSM with Eddie O'Brien, Jay Koplecki, and Tyler Vigen on defense.
- 38:02SPEAKER_01: I just think they're loaded for Bear and the St.
- 38:05SPEAKER_01: A's Hawks.
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: I got them at number two.
- 38:09SPEAKER_02: I got nothing to say, Danny.
- 38:11SPEAKER_02: St.
- 38:12SPEAKER_02: Ansome, number two.
- 38:13SPEAKER_01: You're a smart man, Kevin.
- 38:17SPEAKER_02: Now, our number one.
- 38:20SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
- 38:23SPEAKER_02: You haven't said a name.
- 38:25SPEAKER_02: I haven't said a name.
- 38:27SPEAKER_02: I think we got the same number one.
- 38:31SPEAKER_02: I think we do.
- 38:32SPEAKER_02: A Delphi.
- 38:34SPEAKER_01: The Panthers! The two time.
- 38:39SPEAKER_01: Defending national champs out of the N-10.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: Kev.
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: Whew.
- 38:45SPEAKER_01: This team is stacked again, my man.
- 38:48SPEAKER_01: Outstanding on both sides of the ball.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: Offensively, McDermott, Lewis, Dunellen, Dernan.
- 38:57SPEAKER_01: Are you kidding me?
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: Pick your freaking poison.
- 39:00SPEAKER_01: Defensively, Delessandro, Reese Bauer, Carter Linkletter.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: That's just so scary.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: Are you effing kidding me?
- 39:10SPEAKER_01: Are you effing kidding me?
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: They're going to be tough, man.
- 39:13SPEAKER_01: They are going to be tough.
- 39:15SPEAKER_01: They have Will Greaves at faceoff, who did phenomenal for them last year as a freshman.
- 39:21SPEAKER_01: Their only question, my only question is in goal.
- 39:24SPEAKER_01: They have two goalies, I think they're going to go.
- 39:25SPEAKER_02: Exactly what I've got.
- 39:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:26SPEAKER_01: A Boston U guy and the kid from Belmont Abbey, correct?
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: So we'll see.
- 39:34SPEAKER_01: We'll see who a Delphi gets, who gets the start there.
- 39:38SPEAKER_01: But they're the champs, Kevin.
- 39:41SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, like Muhammad Ali.
- 39:42SPEAKER_01: Until you can knock them out, they're the champs.
- 39:46SPEAKER_02: We said the same thing last year.
- 39:47SPEAKER_02: We were right.
- 39:48SPEAKER_02: They ended up as a champs again.
- 39:50SPEAKER_02: Dylan Renner gone.
- 39:53SPEAKER_02: I can't see another goalie coming in that's going to be as dominant as Dylan Renner.
- 39:59SPEAKER_02: I'm not sure they always need that to be at number one.
- 40:02SPEAKER_02: If they've got a guy that's really, really, really good still, because they could.
- 40:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: Well, like they got a great defense.
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: So I'm Yeah.
- 40:12SPEAKER_01: The defense is going to set up the goalie.
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: Goalie might not have to do too much.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: The ball may not get to him.
- 40:18SPEAKER_01: But you know what?
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: Those two guys, they go down, they go down and face um L uh LR and Wingate.
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: Two really good offenses with two great face-off squads.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: It might dude, I want to see both of those games.
- 40:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I will tell you, those are going to be great games.
- 40:41SPEAKER_02: And let's look we talked about the sack, and regular season performance is not going to be an indicator what ends up.
- 40:49SPEAKER_02: If Adelpha goes down and loses, let's just say they do.
- 40:54SPEAKER_02: They lose let's say they lose both those games.
- 40:57SPEAKER_02: That's not an indicator what's going to happen with them at the end of the year either.
- 40:59SPEAKER_02: That doesn't hurt.
- 41:00SPEAKER_02: Because those three teams are all in our top ten and all very close.
- 41:08SPEAKER_02: And so who knows what's going to happen when they they meet in regular season and what happens after that.
- 41:13SPEAKER_02: This so you're right.
- 41:15SPEAKER_02: I I think I think that's smart for a Delphi to do.
- 41:18SPEAKER_02: Because guess what?
- 41:19SPEAKER_02: They may be meeting one of those teams in the Natty, the final.
- 41:24SPEAKER_01: It's very possible.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: Very possible.
- 41:26SPEAKER_01: So that's our top 20.
- 41:28SPEAKER_01: One, I got a Delphi, two, St.
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: A's, three, Seton Hill, four Tampa, five Wingate.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: You and I are together on a lot.
- 41:36SPEAKER_01: Six, I have Anderson.
- 41:38SPEAKER_01: Number seven, I have LR.
- 41:40SPEAKER_01: Number eight, I have the St.
- 41:41SPEAKER_01: Leo Lions.
- 41:42SPEAKER_01: Number nine, the Maryville Saints.
- 41:44SPEAKER_01: Number ten, the Newberry Wolves.
- 41:46SPEAKER_01: At 11, I have the Pace Setters.
- 41:48SPEAKER_01: At 12, I have Flaggler.
- 41:50SPEAKER_01: At 13, I have Colorado Mesa.
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: At 14, I have the Lewis Flyers.
- 41:55SPEAKER_01: At 15, I have the Malloy Lions, which I think that could get probably go up.
- 42:00SPEAKER_01: 16, I have the North Greenville Trailblazers.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: And number 17, I have Belmont Abbey.
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: I think they're going to be tough this year.
- 42:12SPEAKER_01: I'm very, very interested to see what Belmont Abbey does offensively.
- 42:17SPEAKER_01: Rollins at 18.
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: And Wilmington at 20.
- 42:23SPEAKER_01: Go over your top two.
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: Great picks there.
- 42:25SPEAKER_02: Great picks.
- 42:25SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: Starting from number one, I've got a Delphi.
- 42:28SPEAKER_02: Number two, I've got St.
- 42:29SPEAKER_02: Anselm.
- 42:30SPEAKER_02: Number three, Anderson.
- 42:32SPEAKER_02: Number four, Tampa.
- 42:33SPEAKER_02: Number five, I've got Wingate.
- 42:35SPEAKER_02: Followed up by number six, Meryville.
- 42:38SPEAKER_02: Number seven, Lenore Ryan.
- 42:40SPEAKER_02: And at eight, I've got Malloy, followed by number nine, Rockhurst, my Dark Horse, and number 10, Lewis.
- 42:47SPEAKER_02: And going into the final stretch, number 11, I've got the St.
- 42:51SPEAKER_02: Leo Lions, followed by number 12, Flagler.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: And then number 13, Seaton Hill.
- 42:56SPEAKER_02: I've got Colorado Mesa at 14, Pace at 15.
- 43:01SPEAKER_02: Number 16, I've got Newberry, followed by Wilmington at 17.
- 43:05SPEAKER_02: Then I've got Belmont Abbey at 18.
- 43:08SPEAKER_02: 19 is Rollins.
- 43:10SPEAKER_02: And closing it out for me is Mercy at number 20.
- 43:14SPEAKER_02: Excellent choices, Kev.
- 43:17SPEAKER_01: Excellent choices.
- 43:18SPEAKER_01: Our top 20 for 2026.
- 43:22SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 43:23SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 43:23SPEAKER_01: It's in the book.
- 43:24SPEAKER_02: See what the fans, our listeners, think about those.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: I tell you, man, I think they'd have to kind of agree with us.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: We're pretty, I think we're right on top of it.
- 43:33SPEAKER_01: What do you think?
- 43:34SPEAKER_02: I think we it's always tough every year.
- 43:36SPEAKER_02: There's gonna be people that don't totally agree with us.
- 43:38SPEAKER_02: I think we're we're pretty solid.
- 43:40SPEAKER_02: Like I said, I've got several that should be could be in there that I didn't go over then.
- 43:44SPEAKER_02: And some of those we talked about.
- 43:45SPEAKER_02: You had some, I didn't have some.
- 43:47SPEAKER_02: So I think that'll be really interesting.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: Like Mercy and whatnot.
- 43:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:51SPEAKER_02: Assumption like you had, and I didn't have them in there, and I think they could be in there.
- 43:54SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna be a good year, man.
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be great.
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be a good year.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: I mean it's gonna be great.
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: I'm fired up to the teams.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: There's like eight or nine elite teams, I think.
- 44:03SPEAKER_01: Elite.
- 44:04SPEAKER_01: When I say elite, they got all the ingredients.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 44:07SPEAKER_02: I've got Command Central ready to go.
- 44:09SPEAKER_02: Watching several games at one time.
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: We need we need Inside Lacrosse to give us the calendar.
- 44:15SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 44:16SPEAKER_01: What's up with that?
- 44:17SPEAKER_01: IL.
- 44:18SPEAKER_01: We gotta what do you got?
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: A subscribe now?
- 44:20SPEAKER_02: That's what I'm afraid of.
- 44:22SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 44:22SPEAKER_02: We've got one more section.
- 44:24SPEAKER_02: We've done this for the last few years.
- 44:25SPEAKER_02: We've done players to watch in 2026.
- 44:29SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 44:29SPEAKER_02: I've got several.
- 44:30SPEAKER_02: I know you do too.
- 44:31SPEAKER_02: I'm going to try to go through some of them quickly.
- 44:33SPEAKER_02: Where do you want to start off?
- 44:35SPEAKER_02: You want me to start it off?
- 44:36SPEAKER_01: Oh, you can start off, Kev.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: You've been on a roll tonight.
- 44:40SPEAKER_02: As we we don't try to look, there probably are some obvious ones.
- 44:44SPEAKER_02: I usually every year do not pick ones I picked the year before.
- 44:48SPEAKER_02: I like to give some other love because there's so many you can choose from, Danny.
- 44:52SPEAKER_02: It's ridiculous.
- 44:53SPEAKER_02: And so I'm trying to look for some that this year I try to look for some that uh they they fit a few different categories.
- 44:59SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna start off with a few seniors.
- 45:01SPEAKER_02: I'll do two and I'll let you do a few.
- 45:03SPEAKER_02: We'll see where we go from there, okay?
- 45:04SPEAKER_01: You go I have nine players altogether.
- 45:07SPEAKER_02: Okay, I've got a little bit more than that.
- 45:09SPEAKER_02: Maybe I'll I'll I'll run through them quick, okay?
- 45:11SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 45:12SPEAKER_02: So my I start off with senior MIDI James Sternberg of Walsh.
- 45:18SPEAKER_02: Last year, 45 goals, 44 assists.
- 45:22SPEAKER_02: Walsh is is moving up in the ranks.
- 45:25SPEAKER_02: Now with James as a senior, I think you need to look, I think we need to watch this player this year.
- 45:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:31SPEAKER_02: 45 goals is nothing to sneeze at as this year.
- 45:35SPEAKER_02: No.
- 45:35SPEAKER_02: Now here's my other one.
- 45:36SPEAKER_02: This is a Lee's McRae player, senior attack, Cole Morris.
- 45:40SPEAKER_02: He had 46 goals last year, only 13 assists.
- 45:44SPEAKER_02: He was their he was their shooter, great player.
- 45:47SPEAKER_02: I want to see what he does with these other weapons that are around him now.
- 45:54SPEAKER_02: He may actually have less in the stat category, but I guarantee he's going to be someone that is still going to be used, and I'm really interested to see how he meshes with the other players coming at least McRae.
- 46:06SPEAKER_01: You know, you're a very smart man this evening, Kev.
- 46:09SPEAKER_01: You were really showing your smarts because I had Cole Morris as myself.
- 46:13SPEAKER_01: Cole Morris or Cole Sparks, did you say?
- 46:15SPEAKER_01: I said Morris.
- 46:17SPEAKER_01: I have Cole Morris, too.
- 46:20SPEAKER_01: Who else do you have?
- 46:21SPEAKER_01: The Attack Man.
- 46:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:24SPEAKER_01: You know where he's from, Kev?
- 46:25SPEAKER_01: Where's he from?
- 46:26SPEAKER_01: This one I know I'm gonna butcher.
- 46:30SPEAKER_01: Akatox, Alberta, Canada, O K-O, T-O-K-S.
- 46:37SPEAKER_01: Akatox?
- 46:38SPEAKER_01: A cotox?
- 46:40SPEAKER_02: You may have to have an Alberta City name game.
- 46:44SPEAKER_02: Like we did in the case.
- 46:45SPEAKER_01: We need somebody to come in and tell us how to how to pronounce that.
- 46:49SPEAKER_01: But Cole's from Akatox, Alberta, Canada, led all sophomores last year in goals and was third in the entire country.
- 46:58SPEAKER_01: Colmar has had himself a year.
- 47:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 47:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:02SPEAKER_01: Who else do you have?
- 47:04SPEAKER_01: Oh, well, on sophomores, if we're gonna stay with sophomores, I had uh Tyler Byrd, Kev, the defenseman from Davenport.
- 47:16SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 47:17SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 47:18SPEAKER_01: You know where he's from?
- 47:19SPEAKER_01: Where is he from?
- 47:20SPEAKER_01: Caledonia, Michigan.
- 47:24SPEAKER_01: He was 12th in the country and caused turnovers at 2.2 per game.
- 47:29SPEAKER_01: He had 33 as a sophomore.
- 47:32SPEAKER_01: Pretty tough little player.
- 47:33SPEAKER_01: Tyler Byrd from Davenport.
- 47:35SPEAKER_02: So is he so he's a junior this year?
- 47:37SPEAKER_01: He will be a junior this year this year.
- 47:39SPEAKER_02: Gotcha.
- 47:40SPEAKER_02: I'm with you now.
- 47:41SPEAKER_01: These were like super softs last year.
- 47:43SPEAKER_01: They're all gonna be juniors.
- 47:44SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 47:46SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 47:46SPEAKER_02: Let me.
- 47:47SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna go actually to what I'm calling my freshman sensations.
- 47:54SPEAKER_02: Because I want to see what they can do in their sophomore year.
- 47:56SPEAKER_02: I'll run through them quickly, Danny, okay?
- 47:58SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 48:00SPEAKER_02: Sophomore defender Owen Conway from Kataba.
- 48:03SPEAKER_01: Excellent choice.
- 48:04SPEAKER_02: 43 ground balls, 25 cost turnovers as a freshman.
- 48:08SPEAKER_02: Like, what can he do?
- 48:10SPEAKER_02: What is he going to do this year?
- 48:11SPEAKER_02: That's phenomenal as a freshman coming in.
- 48:13SPEAKER_02: Now, a little more season with his team.
- 48:16SPEAKER_02: That's outstanding for a freshman.
- 48:19SPEAKER_02: So my next sophomore, who was a freshman, is Mitty Noah Hartle from Rockhurst.
- 48:24SPEAKER_02: He was freshman of the year in the GLVC last year.
- 48:27SPEAKER_02: 19 goals, 15 assists.
- 48:29SPEAKER_02: Doesn't sound like a lot, but let's see what you know.
- 48:33SPEAKER_02: You know what I like about Rockhurst.
- 48:34SPEAKER_02: I'm really excited to see what he how he progresses this year.
- 48:38SPEAKER_02: What can he do as a freshman of the year in the GLVC, which is no small award, and see what he can do.
- 48:46SPEAKER_02: My next one.
- 48:47SPEAKER_02: Sophomore MIDI, Andrew Rogers from Northwood.
- 48:53SPEAKER_02: 34 goals, 25 assists as a freshman last year.

- 51:49SPEAKER_01: So, I mean, as a freshman, that's awesome.
- 51:53SPEAKER_02: That's that's some really good picks.
- 51:55SPEAKER_01: Um, what do you got?
- 51:56SPEAKER_01: You got any more?
- 51:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I got several.
- 51:58SPEAKER_02: I've got so let's continue with my transition game.
- 52:02SPEAKER_02: Love guys who can do transition.

- 52:32SPEAKER_02: He was at 67%.
- 52:35SPEAKER_02: I just think he's gonna be a key cog for them this year.
- 52:39SPEAKER_02: They were one of those teams that I could have had in my top 20.
- 52:41SPEAKER_02: They they were out.
- 52:42SPEAKER_02: I think he's one of the keys to talk about.
- 52:46SPEAKER_02: Now I've got I've got just a couple more, but this is the one that I find really interesting, and I'll let you do a few more.
- 52:51SPEAKER_02: Here I've got this is a kind of a special category, and it's all of Wheeling's close D and LSM.
- 52:58SPEAKER_02: When I talk to their coach, I want to know if they're gonna bring out all their six foot four guys and above out this year.
- 53:06SPEAKER_02: So Owen Worley at 6'4, 205, Gage Kimmel at 6'5, Hayden Evans, who's a freshman at 6'5, and an LSM Lincoln, Riley Lincoln as a freshman, 6'5.
- 53:21SPEAKER_02: I want to see that lineup.

- 53:25SPEAKER_01: Wow, that's huge.
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 53:28SPEAKER_01: That's crazy.
- 53:29SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 53:30SPEAKER_01: You have any others?
- 53:31SPEAKER_01: I have two more left, Kev.
- 53:33SPEAKER_01: Uh one as a goalie.
- 53:36SPEAKER_01: Shane Corcoran, goalie for Assumption.
- 53:39SPEAKER_01: This kid is ridiculous, Kev.
- 53:40SPEAKER_01: He's really, really good.
- 53:42SPEAKER_01: He led the country in safe percentage as a true freshman, and he was second in the country, second overall in the country.
- 53:50SPEAKER_01: Shane Corcoran is a beast in goal, and assumption's got him.
- 53:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 53:55SPEAKER_01: And last but not least, this kid just, when I first saw him, I said, wow, this kid is good.
- 54:02SPEAKER_01: And then every time I watched him, he just got better and better and better and better.
- 54:07SPEAKER_01: And he was a true freshman last year.
- 54:09SPEAKER_01: He's a sophomore this year.
- 54:11SPEAKER_01: Uh, and that's Matt LeMay, uh, the attackman from St.
- 54:15SPEAKER_01: A's, all region, NE10, co-rookie of the year, first team mall conference.
- 54:20SPEAKER_01: He had 41 goals, 55 points as a true freshman.
- 54:24SPEAKER_01: So those are my players to watch this year.
- 54:27SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 54:27SPEAKER_02: I love those picks.
- 54:29SPEAKER_02: I like the last one especially.
- 54:30SPEAKER_02: I actually like all of them.
- 54:31SPEAKER_02: I like all your picks.
- 54:32SPEAKER_02: We're good.
- 54:33SPEAKER_02: I've got one more, and that's junior defender Patrick Niarko of UDC.
- 54:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 54:39SPEAKER_02: 46 ground balls, 26 cause turnovers.
- 54:42SPEAKER_02: I got to show him some love.
- 54:43SPEAKER_02: I mean, this is a team that deserves they've got some players.
- 54:47SPEAKER_02: When you're when you lose all those and you got a defender that can do that, now obviously he is gonna have to step up again this year to help them out, but I gotta show him some love.
- 54:58SPEAKER_02: He's a very good player, and I'm excited to watch him again this year.
- 55:01SPEAKER_01: Playing some quality lacrosse for coach.
- 55:04SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 55:05SPEAKER_02: Those are good picks.
- 55:06SPEAKER_02: I'm sure we've missed a lot.
- 55:08SPEAKER_02: Like I told you, there's a ton out there as I was going through it.
- 55:11SPEAKER_02: We don't we could spend all day with guys you want to watch.
- 55:14SPEAKER_02: I think that's a great list on both sides to start with.
- 55:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:17SPEAKER_01: And the top 20 was good tonight, Kev.
- 55:19SPEAKER_01: Excellent.

- 55:24SPEAKER_02: Do you have any?
- 55:24SPEAKER_02: I have one.
- 55:25SPEAKER_02: Okay, let me do one, then you do one.
- 55:29SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 55:29SPEAKER_02: And then I'll finish up with the last one.
- 55:31SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 55:31SPEAKER_02: Sound good?
- 55:32SPEAKER_02: My first shout out goes to the new coaches at American International College, AIC.
- 55:40SPEAKER_02: Coach Keith Campbell as the new head coach with Busy Adam as associate, not assistant, but lacrosse coach.
- 55:48SPEAKER_02: So that's really interesting that they picked two coaches that have huge high school pedigrees.
- 55:55SPEAKER_02: Let me tell you, they have 80 combined years of experience.
- 55:58SPEAKER_02: Coach Campbell was the head coach of my high school alma mater.
- 56:02SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 56:03SPEAKER_02: Long Meadow High School.
- 56:04SPEAKER_02: He was there from 2015 to 2025.
- 56:06SPEAKER_02: 10 consecutive Western Mass first place finishes, been to five MIA championships.
- 56:14SPEAKER_02: That's a Massachusetts Interclass Interscholastic Athletic Association.
- 56:18SPEAKER_02: They won two.
- 56:20SPEAKER_02: They were the state champs in 22 and 24.
- 56:23SPEAKER_02: His associate coach, Busy Adams, has been the head coach at Newton North High School the past 32 years.
- 56:33SPEAKER_02: Look at these credentials.
- 56:34SPEAKER_02: 15 Bay State Conference Championships, five Eastern Mass Championships, three MIAA championships.
- 56:42SPEAKER_02: These two have all of Massachusetts covered if you look at it from a recruiting standpoint.
- 56:49SPEAKER_02: Here's what I found really interesting in their press release.
- 56:53SPEAKER_02: Their AD said that with these hires, they are setting a new bar for AIC lacrosse.
- 57:01SPEAKER_02: They initiate a complete these two guys are going to come in and initiate what he said a complete cultural evolution, and the transformation starts today.
- 57:11SPEAKER_02: I find these picks, these hires, really interesting.
- 57:15SPEAKER_02: All high school for the past 80 combined years.
- 57:24SPEAKER_02: They do club.
- 57:25SPEAKER_02: They do club, but it's not a head coach hiring a young assistant.
- 57:30SPEAKER_02: These are two guys that are seasoned.
- 57:32SPEAKER_02: And I'm really excited to see what they do at AIC.
- 57:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, now they're in a different boat now.
- 57:37SPEAKER_01: It's not high school now.
- 57:38SPEAKER_01: Now they got recruiting, there's scholarships, there's protocols.
- 57:42SPEAKER_01: Whole new world for these coaches.
- 57:44SPEAKER_01: It's not high school anymore.
- 57:47SPEAKER_01: As far as recruiting is concerned, sounds like they got the inn from the upper New England, you know, that New England area.
- 57:54SPEAKER_01: Sounds like they got the inn.
- 57:55SPEAKER_01: They are in club ball up there.
- 57:57SPEAKER_01: So they're seeing kids go through tournaments up there with their clubs.
- 58:01SPEAKER_01: So they got to get on the uh recruiting trail fast and furious because AIC needs players.
- 58:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I agree.
- 58:08SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 58:09SPEAKER_01: I'm happy for them.
- 58:10SPEAKER_01: Congratulations for those guys.
- 58:12SPEAKER_01: See what, see what they can do with AIC.
- 58:15SPEAKER_01: It's gonna take a little bit, Coach.
- 58:17SPEAKER_02: It is, it is.
- 58:18SPEAKER_01: We'd love to get them on this program.
- 58:19SPEAKER_02: I think so.
- 58:20SPEAKER_02: All right, what's your shout out?
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: Oh, well, this week we dropped our SAC and uh we mispronounced the name again, Kev.
- 58:29SPEAKER_01: And it's my fault.
- 58:31SPEAKER_01: Uh I kept saying Mason McGovern, the defenseman from Wingate.
- 58:35SPEAKER_01: It's not McGovern, it's McGivern.
- 58:39SPEAKER_01: And I should have known that since he's my son's roommate.
- 58:42SPEAKER_01: So I'm a I'm a total knucklehead, and I apologize to Mason and the McGivern family, but it seems like uh Coach Boyle was calling Mason McGovern all day at practice.
- 58:56SPEAKER_02: Why are you calling me McGovern?
- 58:59SPEAKER_02: Listen to the podcast on the two knuckleheads.
- 59:01SPEAKER_02: Look, it we have told people, we we that just is proof in the pudding again that we cannot pronounce names on this podcast.
- 59:11SPEAKER_01: And the coaches are listening, so that's so sorry, Mason.
- 59:16SPEAKER_01: Sorry, Mr.
- 59:16SPEAKER_01: and Mrs.
- 59:17SPEAKER_01: McGivern.
- 59:17SPEAKER_01: It's McGivern, not McGovern.
- 59:19SPEAKER_01: And me being an Irishman, I should go back all the way.
- 59:23SPEAKER_01: It just came out, just come out.
- 59:25SPEAKER_02: You were you were passionate.
