- 0:40Speaker 1: This portion of the program is brought to you by
- 0:42Speaker 1: the Dollar Floor Store.
- 0:46Speaker 4: We have two games completed. It didn't take but let's see.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Let me get this right. Let me get my richardson math.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Going seven and a half hours to get those two games.
- 1:04Speaker 1: In Missouri earlier at fourteen base Hits upset Ole miss
- 1:11Speaker 1: ten to eight. They will play Mississippi State at nine
- 1:16Speaker 1: thirty tomorrow morning, Texas time, and Vanderbilt has just completed
- 1:23Speaker 1: a four to one come back to knock off Kentucky
- 1:27Speaker 1: eight to five. The final, Vanderbilt will play Florida, the
- 1:33Speaker 1: number five seed. That game is scheduled for one o'clock tomorrow,
- 1:37Speaker 1: we know it won't start before.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Two five forty five or so.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Game three of the day will be between tenth seeded
- 1:49Speaker 1: Tennessee and number fifteen South Carolina, and sometime tonight before midnight,
- 1:56Speaker 1: LSU and Oklahoma will play.
- 2:00Speaker 4: The South Carolina.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Tennessee winner takes on Arkansas tomorrow and tomorrow night. The
- 2:08Speaker 1: LSU Oklahoma winner takes on Auburn tomorrow night, and the
- 2:14Speaker 1: winner of that game will play Texas A and M
- 2:19Speaker 1: on Friday evening sometime before midnight. Now there's only two
- 2:28Speaker 1: scheduled games and why they put these games on the
- 2:32Speaker 1: schedule only four hours apart. Which brings me to changes
- 2:39Speaker 1: that we have talked to that we talked about actually
- 2:41Speaker 1: yesterday on the show with the Writers round Table. They
- 2:46Speaker 1: have done a wonderful job in Major League Baseball speeding.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Up the game.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I didn't like all the rule changes to begin with.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I like them now. It has made the game more popular,
- 3:00Speaker 1: it has made it more predictable in terms of time,
- 3:05Speaker 1: and they definitely need to do something.
- 3:08Speaker 4: About college baseball. Great game, no.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Doubt, but four hour college games I do not like.
- 3:17Speaker 4: I do not like.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Them at all. So I do not like them with
- 3:25Speaker 1: my rice. I do not like them. They're not nice.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I went into a little Doctor Seuss there. Did you
- 3:31Speaker 1: see what I did there?
- 3:35Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 3:35Speaker 4: They need to change that. They need to speed up
- 3:38Speaker 4: the game.
- 3:39Speaker 1: It is way too slow. It takes way too long.
- 3:44Speaker 1: It's asking way too much commitment. Just saying, we were
- 3:51Speaker 1: just talking about, you know, not needing all of the
- 3:56Speaker 1: sounds in the games because we have to be entertained
- 4:00Speaker 1: every second.
- 4:02Speaker 4: That's not my deal.
- 4:03Speaker 1: But my deal is I think we can do better
- 4:06Speaker 1: than the three hour and forty five minute college baseball game,
- 4:11Speaker 1: and I know we can do better than playing a
- 4:18Speaker 1: postseason college baseball tournament. We don't need them. They are superfluous.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Look it up. That's our word for today.
- 4:30Speaker 4: We don't need it.
- 4:35Speaker 1: The Rangers, who aren't real good right now, have recalled
- 4:40Speaker 1: Chris Martin, who wasn't very good when they sent him
- 4:43Speaker 1: down with a right shoulder impingement. His last appearance was
- 4:48Speaker 1: April the fourteenth. He went to round Rock on a
- 4:52Speaker 1: triple A assignment. He wasn't very good there either. Martin
- 5:02Speaker 1: had an ERA of seven point one point one and
- 5:07Speaker 1: they have sent down Gavin Callier optioned him to round
- 5:11Speaker 1: rock I thought he was pretty good, but from April
- 5:17Speaker 1: fifteenth to May ninth, he allowed four earned runs, two hits,
- 5:21Speaker 1: four walks in his last three outings at Triple A
- 5:27Speaker 1: at A two seven R. Let's see Cody Bradford and
- 5:33Speaker 1: Jordan Montgomery remain on the sixty day IL. Yesterday they
- 5:39Speaker 1: put Corey Seeger on the ten day IL. They need
- 5:43Speaker 1: wyat Langford back. They scored runs yesterday, but a couple
- 5:49Speaker 1: of things not before. It was too little, too late.
- 5:52Speaker 1: They got behind six to one at one time they
- 5:55Speaker 1: lost seven to six. They scored six runs, but again
- 6:01Speaker 1: they did not score first. They have to score first.
- 6:04Speaker 1: If they get to four runs in the game and
- 6:08Speaker 1: score first, they are almost unbeatable. Last night they got
- 6:13Speaker 1: beat by the terrible Colorado Rockies. They've lost three of
- 6:16Speaker 1: their last four. They have lost fourteen of their last
- 6:20Speaker 1: twenty four. They have lost sixteen of their last twenty seven.
- 6:26Speaker 1: They are three games below five hundred and tonight. Very
- 6:31Speaker 1: interesting what they're doing. Kamar Rocker has been really bad
- 6:37Speaker 1: early in the games. He has had a hard time
- 6:41Speaker 1: getting out of the fifth inning because he has thrown
- 6:43Speaker 1: so many pitches the first two innings of games. So
- 6:48Speaker 1: tonight they're gonna do like a starter a bullpen game
- 6:54Speaker 1: and bring Rocker into the game and see if that helps. Okay,
- 7:03Speaker 1: don't know that. We'll see what happens, but hey, they're
- 7:08Speaker 1: willing to try. They need a long outing from Rocker.
- 7:14Speaker 1: If they can last till the second inning and get
- 7:19Speaker 1: him in the game and get him settled down and
- 7:23Speaker 1: eat up some innings, that would be a good thing.
- 7:26Speaker 1: The Astros lost last night to the Twinkies. They play
- 7:31Speaker 1: again tonight. We have that game, I think, Trey, yep,
- 7:35Speaker 1: we do have that game tonight. We talked about this
- 7:39Speaker 1: in the first hour. I don't know if you knew
- 7:42Speaker 1: this or not because it was on the left coast,
- 7:44Speaker 1: but jt Gin of the A's through eight no hit innings,
- 7:48Speaker 1: there hasn't been a no hitter in baseball since September
- 7:53Speaker 1: fourth of twenty twenty four. That strikes me as a
- 7:56Speaker 1: long time to go between no hitters. Anyway, again, had
- 8:01Speaker 1: a no hitter. He gave up the no hitter to
- 8:05Speaker 1: the first batter in the ninth inning, had a one
- 8:09Speaker 1: to nothing lead, walked no gave up a single that
- 8:14Speaker 1: was his first hit to Adam Fraser. Three pitches later,
- 8:17Speaker 1: Zach Netto hit it over the fence and he lost
- 8:19Speaker 1: the game two to one. That's got to hurt hockey.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Western Conference Finals start tonight should be the Stars in
- 8:29Speaker 1: the Avalanche. Instead it's the Golden Knights in the Avalanche.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Or it could be the Golden Knights and the Stars
- 8:39Speaker 1: actually on that end of the bracket, but they're not
- 8:42Speaker 1: Golden Knights Avalanche. Game one Western Conference Finals tonight. Last night,
- 8:48Speaker 1: Montreal advanced. They will play Carolina tomorrow night in Game
- 8:53Speaker 1: one of the Eastern Conference Finals because the Canadians beat
- 8:58Speaker 1: the Sabers in Buffalo in overtime in Game seven last night.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And by the way, the Golden Knights have been stripped
- 9:09Speaker 1: of his second round draft pick and their head coach
- 9:13Speaker 1: John Tortorella find one hundred thousand dollars for flagrant violations
- 9:20Speaker 1: of the Stanley Cup Playoff media regulations. Tortorella did not
- 9:25Speaker 1: speak with reporters after clinching their last series against the
- 9:30Speaker 1: Ducks in Game six, and they did not open the
- 9:35Speaker 1: dressing room as well. ESPN says it's a pattern of
- 9:40Speaker 1: behavior with repeated warnings.
- 9:44Speaker 4: I bet Tortorella is.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Gonna speak to the media after tonight's game or risk
- 9:50Speaker 1: another one hundred thousand dollars fine, So my guess is
- 9:55Speaker 1: he will do that. The Chicago have hired Ac Law
- 10:03Speaker 1: as vice president of player Personnel. Ac has been with
- 10:09Speaker 1: the Thunder and the Brooklyn Nets, started with Sacramento in
- 10:15Speaker 1: the scouting department. He is moving up. Good for him.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Congratulations to him. And by the way, I'm told Alex
- 10:26Speaker 1: Caruso had quite a game last night in the overtime
- 10:30Speaker 1: er double overtime loss right to the Spurs. Caruso went
- 10:34Speaker 1: for thirty one last night. Carlos Alcarez says he ain't
- 10:42Speaker 1: playing in Wimbledon either. He missed the French Open, which
- 10:45Speaker 1: starts on Sunday, because of a wrist injury. He said,
- 10:48Speaker 1: the recovery is going well, but I'm not ready to play.
- 10:52Speaker 4: I have to.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Withdraw from Wimbledon. Alcarez just turned twenty three, has seven
- 10:58Speaker 1: Grand slammed idols, has won two Wimbledon's. Everybody else in
- 11:03Speaker 1: tennis is thrilled that he is not part of that group.
- 11:08Speaker 1: So They've got that going on. And Will Wade the
- 11:13Speaker 1: gangster at LSU, he has signed r J.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Lewis Junior. Why is that a deal? Because r J.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Lewis Junior.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Got drafted, got traded to Boston, played in the G League.
- 11:30Speaker 1: You know, we just saw that this last year. Right,
- 11:34Speaker 1: they ruled that, no, he can't do that, but that
- 11:38Speaker 1: don't stop Will Wade. Will Wade's gonna do what Will
- 11:41Speaker 1: Wade do, and he's gonna flaunt the rules. And I'm
- 11:47Speaker 1: gonna go to court and see if he can get
- 11:50Speaker 1: a friendlier judge to rule that r J. Lewis can
- 11:54Speaker 1: play this year at LSU.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Apparently he made r J. Lewis as strong ass offer.
- 12:10Speaker 1: If you don't know what I'm talking about, look that
- 12:13Speaker 1: Google it, as Kirk Signetti would say, google it.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Okay, this is uh.
- 12:22Speaker 5: I'm looking forward to this.
- 12:25Speaker 1: We're going to jump out to the Polaris Fundzentner zoom Line.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Clint Black has a memoir out called Clint Black and
- 12:36Speaker 1: Killing Time, My Life and Music. Clint Black is an
- 12:40Speaker 1: eleven time Grammy nominee, a Grammy winner.
- 12:47Speaker 4: He has won every award you can win.
- 12:52Speaker 1: It's fun to visit with a country music superstar Clint Black.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Clint, how are you good?
- 13:00Speaker 5: How are you?
- 13:01Speaker 1: I'm doing great. Thank you so much for your time.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I really appreciate it. You know, I'm reading about some
- 13:08Speaker 1: early days after you quit high school, and one of
- 13:12Speaker 1: the things I come upon is that you were a
- 13:15Speaker 1: fishing guide. Dim, I right about that.
- 13:18Speaker 5: Now, that was a line my manager made up. I
- 13:22Speaker 5: don't know why you had to do that. No to
- 13:28Speaker 5: spell that myth since nineteen eighty nine.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I know that there were other odd jobs though along
- 13:34Speaker 1: the way, were there not?
- 13:37Speaker 5: Yeah? I worked as a teenager six days a week
- 13:40Speaker 5: selling newspaper subscriptions door to door. I went into private
- 13:45Speaker 5: security consulting and did that for a little while. It
- 13:47Speaker 5: was a funny story in there about me and a
- 13:50Speaker 5: shotgun watching out for a criminal. And I was an
- 13:56Speaker 5: iron worker for a year and eventually walked off the
- 14:00Speaker 5: job and never looked back, just singing in bars.
- 14:04Speaker 1: So what was it that gave you confidence that these
- 14:09Speaker 1: songs you were writing would eventually pay off for you
- 14:13Speaker 1: for a career.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Well, there's no way, you know, but you know instinctively,
- 14:19Speaker 5: just know you can do it. I was a huge,
- 14:22Speaker 5: huge country fan, but I loved the classic rock. It
- 14:25Speaker 5: was just rock backed in But I knew what I
- 14:30Speaker 5: loved and I knew what we country fans loved. So
- 14:35Speaker 5: I felt like I knew when I wrote something we
- 14:37Speaker 5: would all like I was right, and I just had faith,
- 14:42Speaker 5: kept pushing ahead, still played the bars for about ten years, struggling,
- 14:47Speaker 5: but never lost the faith.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Let me ask you this, who were your biggest influences
- 14:54Speaker 1: in music?
- 14:56Speaker 5: Well, you know, the country list would probably be kind
- 14:59Speaker 5: of a obvious Merle Haggard at the top, and William
- 15:02Speaker 5: Whalen and uh so many others. Uh, such a great list.
- 15:08Speaker 5: Outside of that, I gravitate love the rock and you know,
- 15:11Speaker 5: Deep Purple and Zeppelin and all of that stuff about
- 15:13Speaker 5: Bob Steeger. But I I tended to gravitate heavily toward
- 15:19Speaker 5: the singer songwriters Jim Crochey, Fogelberg, Eagles, James Taylor, Jackson
- 15:24Speaker 5: Brown and Buffett and uh, just the whole collection of
- 15:30Speaker 5: these great songwriters. Uh. They set the bar really high,
- 15:34Speaker 5: and I tried to meet it.
- 15:37Speaker 1: You were fairly young when you mentioned Willie and whalon
- 15:42Speaker 1: and and and the Texas music scene started, but you
- 15:45Speaker 1: were you were living I think at the time, and Katie,
- 15:48Speaker 1: were you not.
- 15:50Speaker 5: Actually back in Houston? Uh? About my last couple of
- 15:54Speaker 5: years of high school, my parents moved out to Katie,
- 15:58Speaker 5: and then when I turned teen, I moved back to town.
- 16:02Speaker 5: And uh, you know, the Houston music scene.
- 16:05Speaker 6: Was just.
- 16:07Speaker 5: Rocking.
- 16:08Speaker 4: You know.
- 16:08Speaker 5: We had great tree stations. We had Bill Young programming
- 16:13Speaker 5: the rock stations, and we had kpf T who was
- 16:16Speaker 5: playing Shake Russell and Dana Cooper and Johnny and Nick Winter.
- 16:20Speaker 5: We had it all going on.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Was there a point, either right before Killing Time was
- 16:28Speaker 1: released or after that, there was that aha moment that,
- 16:34Speaker 1: after all of these years of kicking around in these
- 16:37Speaker 1: bars and begging people to play for him, you went, Okay,
- 16:42Speaker 1: this is this is what I envisioned.
- 16:46Speaker 5: When I uh after a Better Man and Killing Time
- 16:50Speaker 5: went number one, the first two singles off that album.
- 16:53Speaker 5: I was back home out seeing my parents and Katie,
- 16:58Speaker 5: and I was driving asked this little bar in the
- 17:02Speaker 5: corner of a little strip center, and uh where where
- 17:06Speaker 5: I had played for probably fifty dollars, And driving past that,
- 17:11Speaker 5: I look at it and it hits me, I've crossed
- 17:13Speaker 5: the line. Will never be the same for me walking
- 17:17Speaker 5: into a bar again, at least in Houston, and you
- 17:21Speaker 5: know that spread out a bit, but I knew I had,
- 17:24Speaker 5: I had crossed the line in my life, and I
- 17:27Speaker 5: remember lamenting it and in my heart and knowing that
- 17:31Speaker 5: I would that part of my life was over. I
- 17:34Speaker 5: didn't want to go back, but I remember I knew,
- 17:38Speaker 5: I knew that that that was a loss, a sacrifice. Yes, Uh,
- 17:44Speaker 5: to do what I love.
- 17:46Speaker 1: You you probably well after those two you did, but
- 17:49Speaker 1: but you you had no No one knows what fame
- 17:54Speaker 1: is like until they're there.
- 17:56Speaker 5: Do they get No, they don't. And I hope some
- 18:00Speaker 5: artist read the book and uh and and see what
- 18:04Speaker 5: I did, what they shouldn't do, and what they should do,
- 18:08Speaker 5: maybe you'll come out of it. Uh. Struggling to keep
- 18:11Speaker 5: my vocal cords in shape was a big part of
- 18:14Speaker 5: those those years in the clubs. And then you know,
- 18:17Speaker 5: when the record business got ahold of me, it was
- 18:20Speaker 5: on steroids and Uh. I'd always been looking for voice
- 18:24Speaker 5: coaches and found one.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Uh.
- 18:27Speaker 5: Lisa knew the guy in l A and we went
- 18:31Speaker 5: to him, and he had a young protege who went
- 18:33Speaker 5: on the road with me for the next twelve years,
- 18:35Speaker 5: singing in the band, warming me up, teaching me little
- 18:39Speaker 5: techniques and would take the strain off. But those years
- 18:43Speaker 5: before that, the stress of not being in good voice
- 18:47Speaker 5: in the biggest moments of my career, uh, you know,
- 18:51Speaker 5: could have led to you know, alcohol and abuse and
- 18:56Speaker 5: all of that. But uh, you know, George Jones made
- 19:00Speaker 5: an impression on me when I was eighteen in a
- 19:03Speaker 5: band with my brother, you know, drinking the drinks that
- 19:06Speaker 5: people would send up to the stage. My brother fell
- 19:10Speaker 5: down in a moment, knocking drinks all over the drums,
- 19:14Speaker 5: and I never drank on stage again. I thought I'll
- 19:17Speaker 5: be George Jones, and you know I can't keep up
- 19:21Speaker 5: that way.
- 19:22Speaker 4: So he had a real impact of what not to do.
- 19:25Speaker 5: In other words, yeah, yeah, I just I don't know instinctively,
- 19:33Speaker 5: I don't have an obsessive personality, but I knew that
- 19:38Speaker 5: the road was going to be hard, and i'd better
- 19:41Speaker 5: be clear.
- 19:44Speaker 1: When you got opportunities to do a little bit of acting,
- 19:49Speaker 1: what was that like for you? And was that something
- 19:51Speaker 1: that you were looking for or it found you.
- 19:55Speaker 5: No, I was telling my agent stop bringing me this stuff.
- 19:58Speaker 5: Not an actor? What do I know? Why do people
- 20:02Speaker 5: think I can do that? And then I got a
- 20:05Speaker 5: five days off or something, and I wanted to spend
- 20:07Speaker 5: it on the couch. Desperately. I've told my manager, don't
- 20:09Speaker 5: even tell me what offers come in because they're too
- 20:13Speaker 5: hard to turn down. And after a day he called
- 20:17Speaker 5: me and he goes, no, no, you want to know
- 20:18Speaker 5: about this one?
- 20:19Speaker 4: It was nice.
- 20:21Speaker 5: And the next day I was on a plane to
- 20:23Speaker 5: Oregon and on the set with James Garner and Mel
- 20:26Speaker 5: Gibson and Jody Foster and James Coburn and everyone I
- 20:29Speaker 5: grew up watching in Bonanza and gun Smoke, And I
- 20:34Speaker 5: came away from that and told my agents, Okay, more
- 20:39Speaker 5: of this.
- 20:41Speaker 4: So you just mentioned all those folks. Was there a
- 20:44Speaker 4: moment on and you've sang with just.
- 20:47Speaker 1: About everybody in your career, was there one of those
- 20:50Speaker 1: moments when you're on stage with somebody and you looked
- 20:53Speaker 1: over and said to yourself, I can't believe I'm singing
- 20:57Speaker 1: with this person.
- 20:58Speaker 5: Oh tons of those Yeah, lots of those moments. Or
- 21:02Speaker 5: writing a song with Merle Haggard, singing in the studio
- 21:08Speaker 5: with George Jones, recording with Roy Rogers, Yeah, tons of
- 21:14Speaker 5: those moments, sharing the stage with Don Henley. It just
- 21:19Speaker 5: goes on and on. I was a huge I'm a
- 21:21Speaker 5: huge fan of Loggins and Messina, and when reunited, I
- 21:27Speaker 5: stopped they were playing and sat in with them. We
- 21:31Speaker 5: did some of my songs and some of their songs.
- 21:34Speaker 5: So now I'm on stage. One of the biggest influences
- 21:38Speaker 5: on me in my teen years, my early teen years
- 21:41Speaker 5: was a Loggins and Messina album called Full Sale. Yes,
- 21:44Speaker 5: and I'm on stage with them singing after they had
- 21:48Speaker 5: split up so many years before.
- 21:51Speaker 4: How often do you write?
- 21:53Speaker 5: Not often. I make a point not to keep trying,
- 21:57Speaker 5: because I feel like I have to go live, get
- 22:01Speaker 5: some input, put something in the well before I send
- 22:04Speaker 5: the bucket back down.
- 22:06Speaker 1: So what would it take or what does it take
- 22:09Speaker 1: to get into that rhythm to want to put songs together?
- 22:16Speaker 5: Well, I'm back in the rhythm now. Ernest and I
- 22:18Speaker 5: have written a song as one of the favorite songs
- 22:22Speaker 5: of all of them, and I think it's basically separation
- 22:27Speaker 5: from the last album to now. It's about six years.
- 22:31Speaker 5: It takes about five years to forget what torture it
- 22:35Speaker 5: is in the end. It's great at first and in
- 22:38Speaker 5: the middle, and then at the end it's more like
- 22:40Speaker 5: a science project where you've lost the mojo. The music
- 22:44Speaker 5: isn't having the effect, and you just need to be
- 22:46Speaker 5: a scientist about the level of each instrument, where it
- 22:52Speaker 5: is in the mix, and what the song sequence ought
- 22:55Speaker 5: to be. And by the end of the process, there's

- 27:38Speaker 1: in Hollywood, Florida.
- 27:39Speaker 4: That's in South Florida.

- 28:51Speaker 1: move along and straight into the casino, please with all
- 28:56Speaker 1: your cashlight as you'll recall Offsets. Bandmate Takeoff was fatally
- 29:08Speaker 1: shot to death in Houston in November of twenty twenty two.
- 29:13Speaker 9: That's right.
- 29:14Speaker 6: It was like Halloween night, but it was technically November one. Yeah,
- 29:19Speaker 6: I forgot about all that.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Yeah, jeez, I know.
- 29:24Speaker 1: It's dangerous to be part of Migos apparently, and you know,
- 29:29Speaker 1: the last we visited, Ye was planning on a big
- 29:34Speaker 1: concert in London.
- 29:38Speaker 4: Yeah, that's not happening. Yeah. The the UK.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Government's department overseeing Public Safety and Immigration rejected a travel
- 29:53Speaker 1: application from the rapper per the BBC, the Home Office
- 30:00Speaker 1: said the decision to ban Ye's travel was quote made
- 30:05Speaker 1: on the grounds that his presence would not be conducive
- 30:09Speaker 1: to the public good as a result of.
- 30:14Speaker 4: The denied entry.
- 30:16Speaker 1: By the way, I didn't remember having to apply for
- 30:21Speaker 1: a travel application.
- 30:25Speaker 6: I mean with money, because.
- 30:27Speaker 4: I guess, yeah, because he was setting up stuff.
- 30:30Speaker 1: I guess the wireless he was putting together what was
- 30:37Speaker 1: called the Wireless Festival it's been canceled. According to the
- 30:43Speaker 1: official website, ticket refunds will be issued to all concert goers,
- 30:51Speaker 1: festival reps saying that as with every wireless festival, multiple
- 30:56Speaker 1: stakeholders were consulted in advance of booking ye and no
- 31:01Speaker 1: concerts were highlighted at the time.
- 31:04Speaker 4: So anyway, you know, the rapper.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Put out a full page ad in the Wall Street
- 31:13Speaker 1: Journal apologizing for some of his behavior, which didn't stop
- 31:19Speaker 1: PEPSI and others from yanking sponsorships to the festival, which
- 31:26Speaker 1: was to be held in July. So hopefully you didn't
- 31:31Speaker 1: buy plane tickets to London, or even if you did,
- 31:37Speaker 1: go ahead and go.
- 31:38Speaker 6: It's a good city, you know what, you might enjoy
- 31:43Speaker 6: yourself more.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Maybe so so apparently.
- 31:48Speaker 4: For now he is in the US.
- 31:53Speaker 6: There's that awesome let's talk about it is our nemesis,
- 32:02Speaker 6: Taylor's Swift. Okay, this is from We're a little late again.
- 32:08Speaker 5: That's my fault.
- 32:08Speaker 4: We're always We're always late.
- 32:13Speaker 6: But most of our news is hot.
- 32:15Speaker 4: Off the back. That's correct, that's correct.
- 32:19Speaker 6: Taylor Switch was celebrating the last day of Women's History Month,
- 32:23Speaker 6: which I did not know was the thing as a woman,
- 32:26Speaker 6: so I should probably look into that.
- 32:28Speaker 1: So you totally missed you totally missed Women's History Month
- 32:32Speaker 1: last month.
- 32:33Speaker 6: It was really my month last month, and I just
- 32:36Speaker 6: completely was oblivious, totally missed it. Where my brain's at.
- 32:43Speaker 6: I did a music video honoring Elizabeth Taylor, the second
- 32:46Speaker 6: track of her latest album dedicated to the Hollywood Hollywood's
- 32:50Speaker 6: iconic actress. In the same fashion as the Fate of
- 32:54Speaker 6: Ophelia and Opal Light, the singer released a three minute
- 32:57Speaker 6: video exclusively on Apple Music and Spot a five premium.
- 33:01Speaker 6: Both previous videos landed on YouTube a few days later.
- 33:04Speaker 6: Uh no date has been announced for the latest music video,
- 33:08Speaker 6: so the video doesn't star Swiss at all. Actually, instead,
- 33:12Speaker 6: it's a movie montage from classic movies, including A Place
- 33:18Speaker 6: in the Sun, Boom, Cat on a Hot Tin Rule, I.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Love that Cat on a Hot Tin roof movie.
- 33:26Speaker 6: Do you I never heard of it? I should look
- 33:28Speaker 6: into it. Father of the Bride, Giant.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Julia that I love that Giant? Do you? Yeah?
- 33:36Speaker 5: I love you?
- 33:37Speaker 6: Might like this music video Chip all right, I won't
- 33:44Speaker 6: hold my breath. And also Love is Better Than Ever,
- 33:48Speaker 6: Rhapsody Suddenly last summer and Who's Afraid.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Of Virginia That Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf is one
- 33:54Speaker 1: of the all time classics with her Richard.
- 33:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:01Speaker 6: So the clips were either licensed through Warner Bros. Or
- 34:05Speaker 6: provided too Swift's company with the p s A Rights
- 34:09Speaker 6: Management LLC. As a courtesy. The edit included again.
- 34:13Speaker 1: You know, I may, I may enjoy those clips, but
- 34:16Speaker 1: I bet I could go on YouTube and get them anyway,
- 34:18Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, without having to deal with Taylor.
- 34:22Speaker 6: But it's a compliment. You could just mute it.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Yeah whatever, Well, you know I wouldn't. I wouldn't want to.
- 34:31Speaker 4: I wouldn't want the.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Swifties to know I'm muting anything. You know what I'm saying.
- 34:36Speaker 6: I'm sorry. He would never mute Taylor.
- 34:39Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, I gotta tell you I wouldn't.
- 34:46Speaker 1: I don't know if I would recognize a Taylor Taylor
- 34:50Speaker 1: Swift song.
- 34:51Speaker 4: So I'll just say that we're fine.
- 34:57Speaker 1: This is disturbing and I don't have more details on this,
- 35:03Speaker 1: but actor Eugene Meherman, who voices Gene Belcher on Bob's
- 35:09Speaker 1: Burgers and that's my favorite character in Bob's Burgers, was
- 35:14Speaker 1: pulled from a fiery car crash in New Hampshire and
- 35:19Speaker 1: is said to be recovering from serious injuries.
- 35:24Speaker 4: Yeah, we hope that he's okay. I just love me some.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Gene Belcher, So yeah, Eugene. Yeah, I hope you're I
- 35:33Speaker 1: hope you get well soon.
- 35:37Speaker 5: Yes.
- 35:38Speaker 6: Wow, we've got some exciting you know. Look, Chip, this
- 35:42Speaker 6: is the first time that we might actually be able
- 35:45Speaker 6: to meet a king. No way, King Charles is coming
- 35:51Speaker 6: or he set his.
- 35:53Speaker 4: First to college station? Is he coming to college station?
- 35:58Speaker 6: Probably not, but you never now we talk about him enough.
- 36:02Speaker 6: Charles and Queen Camilla will visit the United States in
- 36:04Speaker 6: late April at the invitation of President Donald Trump, so
- 36:09Speaker 6: Buckingham Policy to confirm this. This will be the first
- 36:12Speaker 6: US state visit for Charles since he became king in
- 36:15Speaker 6: twenty twenty two. Well when was the last time, I mean,
- 36:20Speaker 6: I don't don't you ever hear about King Charles coming
- 36:23Speaker 6: to the United States The last time he was even here?
- 36:28Speaker 6: But anyways, Trump said. The visit will take place on
- 36:31Speaker 6: April twenty seventh to April thirtieth, and include a banquet
- 36:35Speaker 6: dinner at the White House on April twenty eighth, Charles
- 36:38Speaker 6: will celebrate the historic historic connections in the modern bilateral
- 36:43Speaker 6: relationship between the United Kingdoms and the United States, marking
- 36:47Speaker 6: the two hundred.
- 36:47Speaker 4: And that's why he's coming.
- 36:52Speaker 6: Nothing like celebrating. I remember when we beat Hill.
- 36:58Speaker 1: No, never, remember when we killed off your soldiers.
- 37:04Speaker 6: First, we through your tea in the harbor.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Yeah, now, look how far we've come.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Look how far? Hey, if we can get together, anybody can.
- 37:14Speaker 6: Exactly, So, their majesties, the King and Queen have accepted
- 37:18Speaker 6: President Trump's generous invitation to make an historic state visit
- 37:22Speaker 6: in the landmark two hundred and fiftieth year. It will
- 37:25Speaker 6: be an honor to host them and to celebrate close
- 37:28Speaker 6: ties with the American people through one of the oldest alliances.
- 37:33Speaker 4: That's so awesome.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Michael Jackson's estate continues to provide for the late pop
- 37:42Speaker 1: stars kids, including dropping thousands on tuition for his oldest
- 37:48Speaker 1: son tens of thousands for his daughter Paris's home improvements.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Is according to new legal documents filed by the estates.
- 37:58Speaker 1: TMZ obtained the report submitted by two executors who had
- 38:06Speaker 1: said in twenty twenty two it was another banner year
- 38:09Speaker 1: for the estate. That's when MJ the Musical was launched
- 38:14Speaker 1: on Broadway, which made a ton of money. John Bronca
- 38:19Speaker 1: and John McClain declared they had earned the estate more
- 38:22Speaker 1: than three billion dollars since Michael died in two thousand
- 38:29Speaker 1: and nine. Three billion dollars. Remember Michael died getting ready
- 38:37Speaker 1: for a world tour because he needed the money, right.
- 38:42Speaker 10: Yeah he was.
- 38:43Speaker 4: The estate was broke. Yeah yeah.
- 38:46Speaker 1: The estate previously paid for homes for Michael's children, Paris
- 38:51Speaker 1: and Prince, and a home for Blanket the Sorry. The
- 38:58Speaker 1: twenty two twenty two report said that during the twelve
- 39:04Speaker 1: month how would you like to go through life named Blanket?
- 39:07Speaker 4: That kid has no chance, no chance.
- 39:14Speaker 6: For that.
- 39:15Speaker 4: I mean, what if your name was Blanket? How old
- 39:19Speaker 4: is Blanket is?
- 39:21Speaker 1: I don't know how his his real name? And maybe
- 39:24Speaker 1: this is why he goes by blanket?
- 39:26Speaker 6: His real name is?
- 39:29Speaker 4: Is BIGI? BIGI? BIGI? Maybe?
- 39:35Speaker 1: Anyway, the report said during a twelve month timeframe, the
- 39:38Speaker 1: estate provided Paris with around three point two million dollars
- 39:43Speaker 1: and another ninety one k on her home. The estate
- 39:48Speaker 1: paid three point one million for prints, including twenty five
- 39:53Speaker 1: k for his tuition to loyal to marry mount Blankets
- 39:58Speaker 1: bills were less expensive. He only got nine hundred and
- 40:02Speaker 1: thirty nine thousand, while MJ's mom got around one point
- 40:07Speaker 1: six million for an allowance and for expenses. Now this
- 40:10Speaker 1: is just one year, mind you. The executors listed they
- 40:14Speaker 1: earned more than eight hundred thousand in royalties and residuals
- 40:20Speaker 1: for various projects, which is only a fraction of the
- 40:24Speaker 1: total amount of.
- 40:26Speaker 4: The money that was brought in during that year.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Now, this isn't the first time that celebrities have been
- 40:35Speaker 1: more more dead than alive.
- 40:37Speaker 4: Elvis was certainly like that. Jimmy Hendricks was like that.
- 40:42Speaker 1: I mean, all of these people in the olden days, right,
- 40:47Speaker 1: they all had horrible contracts, horrible managers. And I'm not
- 40:52Speaker 1: saying there aren't people that still do. But there are
- 40:58Speaker 1: entertainers more away these days, right than they used to be, Yes,
- 41:05Speaker 1: and and more, some of whom are more in control
- 41:09Speaker 1: of their money than allowing someone else to do it.
- 41:13Speaker 6: You feel me, Yeah, how's your manager doing?
- 41:17Speaker 1: He's fine. I'm keep I keep up on a daily basis.
- 41:20Speaker 1: In fact, I paid my own bills just yesterday and
- 41:26Speaker 1: fortunately fortunately I am not in debt yet. If I
- 41:30Speaker 1: get any more bills in the mail this month, I
- 41:33Speaker 1: might be and I have to pay taxes next week,
- 41:38Speaker 1: so don't yes see me, see me?
- 41:41Speaker 4: Did yeah? See me did yeah.
- 41:47Speaker 6: If you see Chip promoting a kind of questionable things,
- 41:50Speaker 6: you just leave him alone.
- 41:52Speaker 4: Yeah, you'll know that the tax man got me.
- 42:00Speaker 6: Well in gears kind of. It's not a great story
- 42:03Speaker 6: because I mean, I think she's great, but Lady Gaga
- 42:05Speaker 6: has canceled her latest touring for her at the advice
- 42:09Speaker 6: of her doctor. So on Monday, the pop singer did
- 42:13Speaker 6: an announce on Instagram she would be canceling her third
- 42:16Speaker 6: and final performance at the Bell Center in Montreal following
- 42:22Speaker 6: respiratory infection. Can if anyone can relate to her for
- 42:27Speaker 6: I don't sing or dance, Oh, she said, I am
- 42:30Speaker 6: so sorry to show that I'm unable to perform tonight
- 42:33Speaker 6: and have canceled the show. She began this statement, I've
- 42:37Speaker 6: been fighting a respiratory infection for the past few days
- 42:40Speaker 6: and doing everything I can to rest and recover, but
- 42:42Speaker 6: it's gotten worse. My doctor has strongly advised me not
- 42:46Speaker 6: to perform today, and to be honest, I don't think
- 42:48Speaker 6: I could give you the quality performance today that you deserve.
- 42:51Speaker 6: I know how deeply disappointing this in night is and
- 42:54Speaker 6: I truly could not feel worse about letting you down.
- 42:58Speaker 6: I'm so sorry to everyone who made plans to be
- 43:00Speaker 6: there and support me. Being in Montreal and performing for
- 43:03Speaker 6: you on Thursday and Friday was magical and deeply meaningful
- 43:07Speaker 6: to everyone who's coming to mind, I'm absolutely heartbroken. It's
- 43:10Speaker 6: so sorry. I mean, I think if you're a Lady
- 43:13Speaker 6: Gaga fan, you know that she usually performs no matter
- 43:16Speaker 6: what I mean, For God's sake, she literally broke her
- 43:19Speaker 6: hip in the early days on stage and kept going,
- 43:21Speaker 6: So God, you hope you get better soon, Gaga.
- 43:26Speaker 4: Yeah, we do.
- 43:28Speaker 1: I think she was supposed to do a couple of
- 43:30Speaker 1: shows in Minnesota and and in New York City, so
- 43:34Speaker 1: we don't know.
- 43:34Speaker 6: We'll see.
- 43:35Speaker 4: Yeah, we don't know yet about that.
- 43:37Speaker 1: So, speaking of entertainers, Randy Travis survived, you know, a
- 43:44Speaker 1: horrible stroke in twenty thirteen. It's hard to believe it's
- 43:47Speaker 1: been thirteen years, and has largely been able unable to
- 43:53Speaker 1: speak or walk since. He received a standing ovation at
- 44:00Speaker 1: a concert with fans channing Randy as he was brought
- 44:04Speaker 1: off stage in a wheelchair by his wife. This was
- 44:09Speaker 1: seen in an Instagram post shared last week. Travis caption
- 44:15Speaker 1: is the fans who make these appearances and shows so
- 44:18Speaker 1: special and the reason I keep doing it. The More
- 44:22Speaker 1: Life Tour was his first major tour since the stroke.
- 44:28Speaker 1: It kicked off in March with his original band and
- 44:33Speaker 1: two dozen dates, including shows to come in Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Texas, Arizona, California,
- 44:45Speaker 1: running through May.
- 44:48Speaker 4: Good on him for being able to do that. That's amazing.
- 44:54Speaker 1: I've seen a couple of things with him singing, you know,
- 45:00Speaker 1: and I mean I thought it was great. I mean
- 45:04Speaker 1: it wasn't quite the same, but hey, who is You
- 45:07Speaker 1: know what I'm saying.
- 45:09Speaker 6: It's inspirational. Nonetheless, yes, it is, no doubt that's amazing.
- 45:13Speaker 4: Also, Javier bardem ooh, I like him.
- 45:18Speaker 1: They are doing a remake of Kate Fear on Apple TV,
- 45:23Speaker 1: a ten episode drama premiering June fifth, that reimages. In fact,
- 45:30Speaker 1: this thing's been done twice already. Do we need a
- 45:34Speaker 1: third one?
- 45:35Speaker 4: You know? De Niro did it back in ninety one.
- 45:38Speaker 1: He was creepy, as you might suspect, but that was
- 45:44Speaker 1: a remake from one I think in the nineteen sixties.
- 45:48Speaker 4: If I'm not mistaken.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Barden has gone the extra mile on tattoos for his
- 45:56Speaker 1: Max Katie character, who has been on revenge for his
- 45:59Speaker 1: prison In Stint, Katie was a scythe wielding Grim Reaper
- 46:05Speaker 1: tattoo on his back with lost ink a cross his
