- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys. Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hawkerel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
- 0:20Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:23Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day for you to become
- 0:25Speaker 1: the Hawrel Energy you want to attract. Hello you guys.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Happy April, Happy Spring, Happy Wednesday. I am so excited
- 0:36Speaker 1: to be entering a new month, my birthday month, it's
- 0:39Speaker 1: airy season. April is one of my favorite months, not
- 0:42Speaker 1: only because it is my birthday, but it's finally starting
- 0:47Speaker 1: to feel closer to summer and I don't know, my
- 0:51Speaker 1: mood's good, the vibes are good. I'm sure everyone's kind
- 0:53Speaker 1: of feeling the same way, knowing that summer's right around
- 0:56Speaker 1: the corner and just things are getting exciting. But obviously
- 1:01Speaker 1: I haven't been on the podcast in a week and
- 1:04Speaker 1: a bit. I was on vacation, as you guys know
- 1:07Speaker 1: if you follow me on Instagram and I mentioned it
- 1:09Speaker 1: on the last episode. I took some time off and
- 1:12Speaker 1: spent the week away with my husband for his birthday,
- 1:16Speaker 1: and guys, it was such a great trip. If you've
- 1:19Speaker 1: never been to Mexico or Tuloom, I highly recommend it.
- 1:22Speaker 1: It's truly such a beautiful place. The people are so kind,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and I just always have a good time. I think
- 1:28Speaker 1: I've been to Mexico honestly, I want to say like
- 1:31Speaker 1: eight times, which is so crazy because I've been a
- 1:35Speaker 1: lot with work, I've been a lot with just like
- 1:37Speaker 1: family trips or trips with Zach. We got engaged there,
- 1:40Speaker 1: so it's kind of a special spot for us. And yeah,
- 1:42Speaker 1: So when Zach and I were actually planning this trip
- 1:44Speaker 1: to go away in March, I asked him, like, where
- 1:46Speaker 1: do you want to go? Do we want to go
- 1:47Speaker 1: somewhere different? And he was like, honestly, I want to
- 1:49Speaker 1: go back to Mexico. I love Mexico. I really want
- 1:51Speaker 1: to go back there. So I was like, sure, let's
- 1:53Speaker 1: do it. So we booked up the same resort that
- 1:56Speaker 1: I went to this time last year with my parents,
- 1:59Speaker 1: the Hilton till and I cannot say enough amazing things
- 2:03Speaker 1: about this resort. I always get so many questions and
- 2:05Speaker 1: dms on like where I stay and all that and
- 2:08Speaker 1: if it's worth it, And in my honest opinion, the
- 2:11Speaker 1: Hilton's never do me wrong. But the Hilton Tuloom is
- 2:15Speaker 1: so good to the point that I probably will be
- 2:17Speaker 1: going back this time next year because the food's incredible.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I think the resort is absolutely sending, the service is amazing.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I was just in Poudhicanna, as you guys know, in January,
- 2:29Speaker 1: and if I were to compare the two resorts, I
- 2:31Speaker 1: would one hundred percent recommend the Hilton over the little
- 2:33Speaker 1: pis in that I stayed at in January. And again
- 2:36Speaker 1: there's nothing wrong with the low pison. Pouda Canna is
- 2:39Speaker 1: just I don't know. I just felt like the Hilton
- 2:41Speaker 1: was like more of like a five star like luxury
- 2:45Speaker 1: feeling resort and all in all, just the best experience
- 2:50Speaker 1: in my opinions, So I will definitely be going back.
- 2:52Speaker 1: And for anyone that's looking to book a trip to Tuloom,
- 2:55Speaker 1: whether it's for your honeymoon or just a baby moon,
- 2:58Speaker 1: or just a trip away with your partner, I highly
- 3:01Speaker 1: highly recommend checking out Hilton to whom it's so good
- 3:03Speaker 1: and for those who ask. It is also an all inclusive,
- 3:06Speaker 1: so I know some people really like the all inclusive
- 3:09Speaker 1: vibe because who doesn't love that when you get to
- 3:11Speaker 1: a resort, you don't have to worry about paying for anything.
- 3:13Speaker 1: You already know exactly what you paid for before the trip,
- 3:17Speaker 1: so you know you're going into the week not feeling
- 3:19Speaker 1: stressed about money or whatever. It's just kind of nice
- 3:22Speaker 1: knowing that you've already paid for the entire trip before
- 3:24Speaker 1: you leave. I think more so it's beneficial for Zach
- 3:27Speaker 1: more so than for me when it comes to all
- 3:29Speaker 1: inclusives because I don't really eat that much or drink
- 3:33Speaker 1: that much, so I don't know if like it's fully
- 3:36Speaker 1: worth it for me. But for my husband, I feel
- 3:38Speaker 1: like he eats, he doesn't drink a lot, but you
- 3:41Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like he drinks, so I don't know.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I feel like it's more beneficial for him than for myself.
- 3:45Speaker 1: But again, the feeling of like not having to pay
- 3:48Speaker 1: for anything and knowing that everything's paid for already is
- 3:51Speaker 1: quite nice. So yeah, anyways, I just thought I would
- 3:54Speaker 1: share where we stayed because I did get a lot
- 3:56Speaker 1: of questions about that. It was very very good. It's
- 3:58Speaker 1: very family friendly, very couple friendly. I wouldn't exactly say
- 4:03Speaker 1: it's like a good bachelorette place or like party vibes
- 4:08Speaker 1: with your friends, like it's more couples and families, like
- 4:12Speaker 1: there was a lot of like new moms with their
- 4:15Speaker 1: newborns there, which was like very eye opening for Zach
- 4:19Speaker 1: and I just because like I feel like, obviously we're
- 4:22Speaker 1: at that phase in our life where we're talking about
- 4:24Speaker 1: kids and all that. Obviously we're not there yet. But
- 4:27Speaker 1: it was just nice to see and very refreshing to
- 4:29Speaker 1: see parents like still traveling with their newborn. And I
- 4:33Speaker 1: don't want to say like they made it look easy,
- 4:35Speaker 1: but it was just a nice feeling to see that, like,
- 4:39Speaker 1: your life doesn't stop when you have kids. And I
- 4:42Speaker 1: think a lot of people have that perception where it's like,
- 4:45Speaker 1: you know, you can't leave your house when you have
- 4:46Speaker 1: a newborn, and like you have to do everything at home,
- 4:48Speaker 1: blah blah blah. So yeah, maybe I shouldn't say newborn.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I should just say like a six to nine month
- 4:53Speaker 1: old baby, because when you're in the newborn phase, I
- 4:55Speaker 1: think it's only like for the first four months of
- 4:58Speaker 1: their life. But yeah, like six to nine month range
- 5:02Speaker 1: of you know, the babies and anyways, it was just
- 5:05Speaker 1: nice to see the parents being able to travel and yeah,
- 5:10Speaker 1: just seeing how chill the baby was and a lot
- 5:13Speaker 1: of the kids were very like well behaved. It was
- 5:15Speaker 1: just all in all, a very eye opening trip for
- 5:17Speaker 1: Zach and I. And yeah, we are not having babies yet,
- 5:21Speaker 1: I promise, but yeah, maybe soon. But anyways, it was
- 5:24Speaker 1: just a trip that we both wanted to have and
- 5:27Speaker 1: it was nice to spend the entire week together celebrating
- 5:30Speaker 1: Zach's twenty ninth birthday. And now that we're home, I
- 5:34Speaker 1: have gotten back into the swing of things. Unpacked my suitcase,
- 5:39Speaker 1: reset the house a bit, doing some laundry, getting back
- 5:42Speaker 1: into my workout routine. All that. We got back late Saturday,
- 5:47Speaker 1: so Monday was kind of like my first day of
- 5:49Speaker 1: getting back into the swing of things. And now we're
- 5:51Speaker 1: here today for Tuesday. Did a pilates class this morning,
- 5:55Speaker 1: and now I'm recording this episode. So let's talk about April,
- 5:59Speaker 1: because is a new month. It's new vibes, it's new energy,
- 6:03Speaker 1: it's new goals. So I thought we could talk about
- 6:06Speaker 1: some habits and goals that I'm personally doing for this month.
- 6:09Speaker 1: But this might inspire you to think of some goals
- 6:12Speaker 1: for yourself that you want to achieve this month. I
- 6:15Speaker 1: think one thing for me, I'm thinking of summer prep.
- 6:17Speaker 1: And I'm sure a lot of people think when it's summertime,
- 6:20Speaker 1: they think about obviously working out more, and I feel
- 6:22Speaker 1: like I'm in that mindset where I'm like, i feel
- 6:24Speaker 1: like i could be doing a little bit more than
- 6:25Speaker 1: what I'm doing currently. So I do plates every single morning.
- 6:28Speaker 1: As you guys know, I have been combining it with cardio,
- 6:32Speaker 1: which is spinning, but i haven't been spinning that much lately,
- 6:35Speaker 1: so I've been trying to like find different ways on
- 6:37Speaker 1: how i can include cardio every single day. So I'm
- 6:40Speaker 1: trying to do pilates in cardio, so almost not two workouts,
- 6:44Speaker 1: but almost two workouts every single day. So whether it's
- 6:47Speaker 1: walking or running or spin classes, whatever the case may be,
- 6:52Speaker 1: I'm just trying to find another source of movement that
- 6:55Speaker 1: I can do within my day to do that combo
- 6:58Speaker 1: of plates and cardios. So I've been doing pilates classes
- 7:01Speaker 1: in the morning and then I've been walking on my
- 7:03Speaker 1: treadmill for an hour and I've been doing that with
- 7:05Speaker 1: habit stacking. So whether I'm you know, doing some work
- 7:08Speaker 1: on my phone or reading. Reading has been a big
- 7:11Speaker 1: one for me, and I'm going to touch on that
- 7:13Speaker 1: in a second, but reading some morning pages while you're
- 7:15Speaker 1: walking on your treadmill in the morning, I think is
- 7:17Speaker 1: a great way to get extra movement in, but also
- 7:21Speaker 1: being able to habit stack is a game changer, and
- 7:24Speaker 1: then walking outside more. Obviously, trying to include some spinning
- 7:28Speaker 1: classes more into my routine is something that I'm really
- 7:31Speaker 1: trying to push myself to do every single day for
- 7:35Speaker 1: this month. So that's kind of like my little April
- 7:37Speaker 1: challenge for myself. When we were on vacation, I was
- 7:40Speaker 1: walking twelve to fifteen thousand steps a day. Okay, I
- 7:45Speaker 1: don't even do that here at home, so I'm like,
- 7:47Speaker 1: I can barely get to ten because obviously I work
- 7:49Speaker 1: from home, I'm not really walking, you know, constantly, Whereas
- 7:53Speaker 1: when we were at the resort, we were purposely walking
- 7:55Speaker 1: everywhere because you know, the casas, like each hotel room
- 7:59Speaker 1: h little casas, and we were in Costa five, so
- 8:02Speaker 1: we were really far from everything at the lobby, so
- 8:05Speaker 1: we would walk, but it was like a ten minute walk.
- 8:08Speaker 1: It's not like it was a long walk. But we'd
- 8:09Speaker 1: be doing that every single morning. So we'd be walking
- 8:11Speaker 1: to get breakfast, walking back to the hotel room if
- 8:13Speaker 1: we wanted to walk back to get a coffee, and
- 8:15Speaker 1: then walk back to the hotel room, like you know
- 8:17Speaker 1: what I mean, Like there was just constant movement and
- 8:19Speaker 1: I loved that. So I'm like, I need to keep
- 8:21Speaker 1: this up when I get home because I just feel
- 8:23Speaker 1: like walking is so underrated and it's truly one of
- 8:26Speaker 1: the best movements to be doing every single day. And
- 8:28Speaker 1: if you're walking ten thousand to fifteen thousand steps a day,
- 8:32Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, you will definitely notice a
- 8:34Speaker 1: difference in how you feel, how your body looks, all that.
- 8:37Speaker 1: So walking is truly a game changer. And yeah, just
- 8:40Speaker 1: something that I'm really trying to increase this month. And again,
- 8:44Speaker 1: if it's not walking, it's going to be spinning, or
- 8:46Speaker 1: it's going to be running, or you can also do
- 8:48Speaker 1: like biking, rollerblading. We're getting to that season where we
- 8:51Speaker 1: can actually get outside more and do more outdoor activities,
- 8:54Speaker 1: which is so fun. So yeah, another goal for me
- 8:58Speaker 1: is reading more. When I was on my trip, I
- 9:02Speaker 1: was reading The Housemaid. If you guys haven't read that book,
- 9:05Speaker 1: I highly recommend it. They're actually releasing a movie. I
- 9:08Speaker 1: believe they just wrapped up the filming in February and
- 9:10Speaker 1: the movie is supposed to be launching at the end
- 9:14Speaker 1: of this year. I think it's actually supposed to launch
- 9:15Speaker 1: on Christmas Day. But anyways, the book was absolutely amazing.
- 9:20Speaker 1: When I was in Poudicuana, I read the book every
- 9:22Speaker 1: summer after by Carly Fourtune I believe she's a Canadian author.
- 9:29Speaker 1: But anyways, the book was good. I really liked it.
- 9:31Speaker 1: It was really really good. But this book, wow, The Housemaid,
- 9:35Speaker 1: it just kind of like made me love thriller books,
- 9:40Speaker 1: Like I never thought I would love a thriller so much. Wow.
- 9:43Speaker 1: My anxiety reading those chapters was insane. I don't think
- 9:48Speaker 1: I've ever been so invested in a book in my life.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Like I truly like couldn't stop reading. I would be
- 9:54Speaker 1: outside tanning and Zach would be like, Okay, can we
- 9:56Speaker 1: go to the room, and I'm like, okay, one more chapter,
- 9:58Speaker 1: Like I just want to read one more chapter. And
- 10:00Speaker 1: then we'd get back into the room and I would
- 10:02Speaker 1: read more and Zach was like, hey, we should probably
- 10:04Speaker 1: get ready for dinner, Like you need to go put
- 10:05Speaker 1: your makeup on and get your hair ready. I'm like, okay,
- 10:07Speaker 1: just one more chapter. Like I was so addicted to
- 10:10Speaker 1: this book. I would say it's like a romantic thriller,
- 10:13Speaker 1: I guess, and it's so good, so it's a series.
- 10:15Speaker 1: So I already bought the second book on my mom's kindle.
- 10:20Speaker 1: My mom has a kindle and she's letting me use
- 10:22Speaker 1: it just because I've been obsessed with it, and my
- 10:24Speaker 1: mom doesn't really use it that much. My mom prefers
- 10:27Speaker 1: hard copy books because I bought the kindle for her
- 10:29Speaker 1: for Christmas, and I just find it funny how I
- 10:30Speaker 1: bought it for her, but now she's basically letting me
- 10:33Speaker 1: use it for the time being, and she's just been
- 10:36Speaker 1: reading her books through hardcovers. But I don't really have
- 10:39Speaker 1: like a preference. I think having like the hard copy
- 10:42Speaker 1: versus the kindle, I don't really notice a big difference.
- 10:45Speaker 1: But the kindle is nice. Just it's smaller and it's
- 10:48Speaker 1: just like easier to bring around, especially for traveling. But anyways,
- 10:53Speaker 1: I bought the second book and I haven't started it yet.
- 10:55Speaker 1: But one of my goals for April is to do
- 10:58Speaker 1: morning pages. So as I said, walking on the treadmill
- 11:01Speaker 1: while reading, even if it's just like a chapter, or
- 11:04Speaker 1: you could read two chapters, I like to walk on
- 11:06Speaker 1: the treadmill for an hour or so I can kind
- 11:09Speaker 1: of combine that with work as well, so I can
- 11:11Speaker 1: work off my phone obviously editing stuff and submitting stuff
- 11:14Speaker 1: in for work, and then also read my morning pages.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So that's what I've been trying to do, and this
- 11:20Speaker 1: could be another goal for April that I'm trying to
- 11:22Speaker 1: hit is having less screen time, so having a screen
- 11:26Speaker 1: free time in the morning and night by replacing it
- 11:29Speaker 1: with reading a book. So I think screen free time
- 11:33Speaker 1: is really important to include into your routine because I think,
- 11:37Speaker 1: you know, everyone is a victim to doom scrolling through Instagram,
- 11:40Speaker 1: through TikTok, and obviously with my job, I feel like
- 11:43Speaker 1: I have to do some doom scrolling, but I do
- 11:45Speaker 1: think I can choose different times to do that. So
- 11:48Speaker 1: really kind of just setting more time aside in the
- 11:51Speaker 1: morning and at night to just have screen free time
- 11:55Speaker 1: and really just dedicate that to reading more is yeah,
- 12:00Speaker 1: something that's really important to me. I think overall, reading
- 12:05Speaker 1: was definitely a big goal for mine this year, because
- 12:08Speaker 1: I think I've mentioned it in previous episodes. But I'm
- 12:10Speaker 1: not the biggest reader. So if you're someone like me
- 12:13Speaker 1: that was never a big reader, like myself, I just
- 12:16Speaker 1: could never find interest in like just reading in general.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I just always had a hard time imagining the characters,
- 12:22Speaker 1: imagining the you know, the situation in your head, and
- 12:27Speaker 1: it just was like hard for me to get into
- 12:28Speaker 1: a book. But I think it's because I wasn't reading
- 12:31Speaker 1: the right books. So I do truly appreciate people's recommendations
- 12:35Speaker 1: and opinions. So my mom actually recommended me The Housemaids.
- 12:38Speaker 1: She said, I feel like you would really like it,
- 12:40Speaker 1: and that's why I read it, and I was obsessed
- 12:42Speaker 1: with it. So I think having recommendations is super helpful.
- 12:45Speaker 1: So if there's influencers who are big readers, I think
- 12:48Speaker 1: those are really important influencers to follow if you're a
- 12:51Speaker 1: big reader yourself, to get a lot of recommendations and
- 12:54Speaker 1: just yeah, reading different types of books that you might
- 12:56Speaker 1: be interested in. So I will be fully transparent that
- 12:58Speaker 1: I'm definitely new to that and I've read two books
- 13:01Speaker 1: this year, and I'm already really proud of that. To
- 13:03Speaker 1: be honest, I think my goal this year was to
- 13:05Speaker 1: read twelve and I do actually think that could be
- 13:07Speaker 1: pretty achievable. So yeah, I don't know. I'm just trying
- 13:11Speaker 1: to make it a goal of mine to read more,
- 13:12Speaker 1: and I'm realizing how much I actually enjoy it and
- 13:15Speaker 1: how it's important to also, you know, read as much
- 13:19Speaker 1: as you can, because I think it's good for our
- 13:21Speaker 1: minds to consume that versus consuming unnecessary content that we
- 13:25Speaker 1: see on social media sometimes. So yeah, if you're someone
- 13:28Speaker 1: like me that isn't a big reader, I highly recommend
- 13:31Speaker 1: trying out the two books that I recommended. One is
- 13:35Speaker 1: The Housemaid. I definitely think you need to read that
- 13:37Speaker 1: because it's amazing. And now I'm even more excited because
- 13:39Speaker 1: there's a movie coming out, and yeah, I really want
- 13:42Speaker 1: to do that. The other book that I know is
- 13:45Speaker 1: releasing a movie I think next year early next year
- 13:47Speaker 1: is Verity. Is that what it's called. I think they
- 13:51Speaker 1: were filming in New York City. I saw a bunch
- 13:53Speaker 1: of like Instagram reels and tiktoks about the filming and
- 13:57Speaker 1: apparently that book's amazing. So that's another book that I've
- 14:01Speaker 1: been wanting to read. I don't know if that's a series,
- 14:03Speaker 1: to be honest, it might be as well. But anyways,
- 14:07Speaker 1: there's so many good books out there that we could
- 14:09Speaker 1: all yeah, get into. But that's something I'm working on
- 14:13Speaker 1: and I'm really proud of myself. For getting into it,
- 14:15Speaker 1: because it was definitely something that I felt like I
- 14:18Speaker 1: just never thought I could get back into. And like
- 14:21Speaker 1: I used to read in high school. Obviously I think
- 14:23Speaker 1: all of us did, but like, yeah, I don't know,
- 14:27Speaker 1: I just had a hard time getting back into it,
- 14:28Speaker 1: and I feel like now I've fallen in love with it.
- 14:30Speaker 1: And I'm really really proud of myself for yeah, doing
- 14:34Speaker 1: something that I thought would I wouldn't enjoy, but I
- 14:37Speaker 1: actually do enjoy. And yeah, so highly recommend that book
- 14:42Speaker 1: that I read, and I was addicted the entire time.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I actually had a hard time vlogging because I was
- 14:46Speaker 1: so focused on the book. So you'll see in my
- 14:49Speaker 1: YouTube video that will be posted hopefully tomorrow. Well, I
- 14:52Speaker 1: guess today for you guys because it's Wednesday, but you
- 14:55Speaker 1: guys will see like how invested I was in the
- 14:58Speaker 1: book and yeah, it's just super funny. But anyways, so
- 15:02Speaker 1: that's another goal of mine. Another one for April is
- 15:05Speaker 1: morning sunlight. So I really want to get back into
- 15:09Speaker 1: just that, like walking in the mornings with the fresh air,
- 15:12Speaker 1: or even just like stepping outside on my patio drinking
- 15:16Speaker 1: my coffee with my book. Maybe, like I really try
- 15:19Speaker 1: and prioritize that in the summers of me stepping outside
- 15:23Speaker 1: immediately after my workout. So for me, like if I
- 15:26Speaker 1: were to describe the perfect day for me, it would
- 15:28Speaker 1: be waking up early, going to a workout class, coming home,
- 15:32Speaker 1: eating my breakfast, making my coffee, and stepping outside and
- 15:36Speaker 1: either journaling or planning or reading while sipping my coffee.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I think everyone can agree that would be the perfect
- 15:43Speaker 1: morning routine. So that is something that I'm trying to
- 15:46Speaker 1: do is just really enjoy the fresh air. And I
- 15:50Speaker 1: love in the summer running in the trails like that
- 15:53Speaker 1: to me is so therapeutic. So when it's actually nice outside,
- 15:56Speaker 1: being able to run outside and just get some fresh
- 15:58Speaker 1: air as soon as they wake up literally so key.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I also love to use my parents' backyard. My parents
- 16:05Speaker 1: have a really nice setup in the backyard and I
- 16:07Speaker 1: love visiting them in the summer and just sitting outside,
- 16:10Speaker 1: working outside, just bringing my laptop and getting some editing
- 16:14Speaker 1: and like just podcast stuff done well in there. So
- 16:17Speaker 1: I currently don't have like a backyard setup. That's something
- 16:20Speaker 1: that Zach and I are trying to figure out if
- 16:22Speaker 1: we want to do this year or not. Of course,
- 16:24Speaker 1: owning a house is not cheap. Like furniture is expensive.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Backyard furniture is expensive. You know, we did invest in
- 16:31Speaker 1: getting a fence last year, which was quite costly. So
- 16:34Speaker 1: I'm like, do we want to put some patio furniture
- 16:36Speaker 1: out this year, like get a couch, an umbrella all
- 16:39Speaker 1: that we might? We may not. Anyways, the last goal
- 16:43Speaker 1: for April that I've been wanting to hit is experimenting
- 16:47Speaker 1: with different recipes. So I have been really on food
- 16:51Speaker 1: Pinterest right now, Like I've been really just trying to
- 16:53Speaker 1: find different recipes because I think over time, when you're
- 16:56Speaker 1: eating the same meals and this same food for an
- 17:01Speaker 1: extended period of time, you kind of get sick and
- 17:04Speaker 1: tired of things. Right Like, I've been eating kind of
- 17:07Speaker 1: like the same rotation of certain recipes that we've been
- 17:09Speaker 1: making for a pretty long time, and I'm like kind
- 17:11Speaker 1: of getting sick and tired of them. I'm like, Okay,
- 17:13Speaker 1: we need to change it up. And I also think
- 17:15Speaker 1: for me, it's something that I you know, I love cooking.
- 17:18Speaker 1: It's something that I enjoy and one thing that I
- 17:20Speaker 1: always talk about here on the podcast is always trying
- 17:23Speaker 1: new hobbies out all that, and I feel like for
- 17:25Speaker 1: me I've always felt like a good cook, but I've
- 17:27Speaker 1: never really you know, put the effort in actually experimenting
- 17:30Speaker 1: and cooking more foods that I'm not you know, used to, right,
- 17:34Speaker 1: like just experimenting with cooking a salmon properly or cooking
- 17:38Speaker 1: a steak properly. Like I don't usually try to experiment
- 17:40Speaker 1: with different things, Like I just kind of cook what
- 17:42Speaker 1: I know. I'm good at cooking, and that's it. So
- 17:45Speaker 1: one of my goals this month is to definitely experiment
- 17:47Speaker 1: and try different recipes out, different meals out. It's definitely
- 17:51Speaker 1: something I want to share through social media as well,
- 17:53Speaker 1: like through TikTok and YouTube and all that of me
- 17:56Speaker 1: trying different recipes out, seeing if it's a fail or
- 18:00Speaker 1: seeing if it's, you know, the best meal ever. So yeah,
- 18:02Speaker 1: I just feel like April's gonna be my month of
- 18:05Speaker 1: discovering new recipes, trying out new desserts. We have a
- 18:08Speaker 1: ninja creamy that we got for Christmas that we honestly
- 18:10Speaker 1: haven't used much because we couldn't really find a good
- 18:13Speaker 1: protein powder that was working for our ninja creamy. We
- 18:17Speaker 1: just got a new one recently, so I'm hoping we
- 18:19Speaker 1: can try a recipe out this week or next week.
- 18:22Speaker 1: And then another thing I've been wanting to try is
- 18:26Speaker 1: there's like a viral dates dessert. It's gone viral like
- 18:30Speaker 1: I think a few years ago. To be honest, it's
- 18:31Speaker 1: not like it's a new thing, but I've seen people
- 18:33Speaker 1: do it where it's like dates butter, sea salt and
- 18:38Speaker 1: chocolate chips, and then I think you can also drizzle
- 18:41Speaker 1: almond butter as well. So I think I'm actually gonna
- 18:42Speaker 1: try that tonight because I did buy all the ingredients
- 18:44Speaker 1: for that, so I have that all in my pantry,
- 18:47Speaker 1: so I think I'm gona attempt that tonight. But that's
- 18:48Speaker 1: something that's, Yeah, I don't know how that's gonna be
- 18:51Speaker 1: butter in a date. It's quite interesting. But anyways, just
- 18:54Speaker 1: trying things like that that's completely different and new. Like
- 18:57Speaker 1: I've been eating the same dessert for five years. I'm like, okay,
- 19:00Speaker 1: it's literally just dark chocolate and chocolate grab crackers, and
- 19:04Speaker 1: I'm like, we need to change us up, Like why
- 19:06Speaker 1: am I still doing this after six years? So just
- 19:08Speaker 1: making like little changes like that and healthier swaps and yeah,
- 19:12Speaker 1: just finding ways to include new recipes into our weekly rotation.
- 19:17Speaker 1: So those are my four or five goals that I
- 19:20Speaker 1: just listed for April, just you know, trying out the
- 19:23Speaker 1: pilates and cardio every single day. I'm also going to
- 19:27Speaker 1: try and combine different workout classes, so I think I
- 19:29Speaker 1: mentioned trying out agreed that was something I wanted to
- 19:31Speaker 1: do coming back from Mexico, as well as some hot
- 19:35Speaker 1: pilates classes. So it's a hot mat plates class and
- 19:38Speaker 1: bar classes. So I'm gonna try those two out this
- 19:41Speaker 1: month and then experimenting with different recipes, morning sunlight, screen
- 19:46Speaker 1: free time, reading, more all that. So if you haven't
- 19:50Speaker 1: set goals for yourself this month, I highly recommend it.
- 19:53Speaker 1: It's a great way to motivate yourself to obviously just
- 19:56Speaker 1: better yourself and just you know, stick within your healthy habits.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I always recommend doing that, and I feel like we
- 20:02Speaker 1: used to do this all the time entering a new month,
- 20:04Speaker 1: and I figured I would bring it back when we
- 20:06Speaker 1: start going into a new month. So those are my goals,
- 20:09Speaker 1: and I'm going to hold myself accountable and make sure
- 20:12Speaker 1: to hit those goals so we can go into April
- 20:15Speaker 1: with a good mindset. Now we're going to get into
- 20:18Speaker 1: the Spring refresh checklist, so things that you can do
- 20:22Speaker 1: in your home or just for yourself to feel refresh
- 20:25Speaker 1: going into a new season. We've kind of touched on
- 20:28Speaker 1: a few things when it comes to spring, but I
- 20:30Speaker 1: feel like I haven't really talked about like things that
- 20:32Speaker 1: you could do kind of around your home when it
- 20:34Speaker 1: comes to cleaning or just like refreshing your home and
- 20:38Speaker 1: just going into a new season. I think everyone can
- 20:40Speaker 1: kind of feel a little more refresh changing up certain things.
- 20:44Speaker 1: So one thing that I'm doing this month is organizing
- 20:48Speaker 1: my entire closet, so you know, taking away my winter clothes,
- 20:52Speaker 1: bringing back my summer clothes, you know, getting rid of
- 20:54Speaker 1: things that either I'm not wearing or doesn't fit me,
- 20:59Speaker 1: or donating some things, selling some things, et cetera. So
- 21:03Speaker 1: I definitely need to go through a lot of my
- 21:05Speaker 1: workout sets. I have so many workoutsets that I don't
- 21:08Speaker 1: even wear, to be honest, that I bought years ago
- 21:10Speaker 1: that either just like don't fit me properly, or you know,
- 21:14Speaker 1: when like workout sets just kind of get kind of
- 21:17Speaker 1: like bulled up. Is that the word I'm looking for?
- 21:19Speaker 1: You know, it just kind of like looks ratty. That's
- 21:21Speaker 1: definitely not the right word, but you guys know what
- 21:23Speaker 1: I'm trying to say. It looks old, right, So I'm
- 21:26Speaker 1: like I could get rid of these, and you know,
- 21:29Speaker 1: just things that I can donate that don't fit me well.
- 21:31Speaker 1: So that's something that I'm making a priority. Is just
- 21:34Speaker 1: kind of like a closet refresh of just going through
- 21:36Speaker 1: everything and yeah, getting rid of some things along with
- 21:40Speaker 1: my makeup vanity, Like I have so much makeup that
- 21:43Speaker 1: is either you know, probably expired or things that I
- 21:47Speaker 1: don't use that just kind of like reacted with my
- 21:49Speaker 1: skin that I could get rid of. So just finding
- 21:52Speaker 1: areas in your home that you can completely refresh by
- 21:54Speaker 1: getting rid of some things, so like your makeup vanity,
- 21:57Speaker 1: your closet, bathroom cabinets, cabinets in your kitchen, your office,
- 22:02Speaker 1: Like just find areas that you could declutter and just organize,
- 22:06Speaker 1: because I think that's the key when you're going into
- 22:09Speaker 1: a new season, is just kind of refreshing your space.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Another big thing is the cleaning of your home, so
- 22:14Speaker 1: cleaning out your fridge, cleaning your couch, cleaning your furniture.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Like I just did a huge couch reset. I cleaned
- 22:20Speaker 1: my entire couch. I put all the cushions in the wash,
- 22:23Speaker 1: bleach them, let them air dry, and the couch looks
- 22:27Speaker 1: so white after doing that. I usually try to do
- 22:30Speaker 1: that once every three months, is cleaning the couch. But
- 22:34Speaker 1: also just like deep cleaning your furniture, Like obviously dust
- 22:36Speaker 1: builds up. Not everyone dusts every single weekend because that
- 22:39Speaker 1: would be a lot, but your baseboards get really dusty,
- 22:42Speaker 1: your furniture gets really dusty, your bed frame, like just
- 22:45Speaker 1: like areas that you don't really think about. I think
- 22:47Speaker 1: it's important to just kind of like look at all
- 22:49Speaker 1: services and get rid of any dust, any mess, vacuuming,
- 22:54Speaker 1: et cetera. Just kind of doing a good clean. Another
- 22:56Speaker 1: thing that something that my sister actually pointed out to
- 22:59Speaker 1: me that she's like, you should do this as your
- 23:00Speaker 1: spring like refresh or spring cleaning, because I feel like
- 23:03Speaker 1: this is something that a lot of people can do.
- 23:05Speaker 1: But going through like your camera roll on your phone,
- 23:08Speaker 1: Like guys, I have eighty five thousand photos and videos
- 23:11Speaker 1: on my phone. Yeah, that's absolute craziness. I definitely need
- 23:17Speaker 1: to go through it. Of Course, with my job, I'm
- 23:20Speaker 1: filming constantly and I'm taking photos constantly, so that's just
- 23:24Speaker 1: like gonna happen. I pay for like a lot of
- 23:28Speaker 1: iCloud storage and all that with iPhone, but because it's
- 23:30Speaker 1: my job, like it's just something that I have to do,
- 23:33Speaker 1: but I do need to go through it because I
- 23:35Speaker 1: do think I could probably take it down by least
- 23:38Speaker 1: twenty thousand for sure, because there's a lot of videos
- 23:41Speaker 1: and photos on there that I'm like have no purpose,
- 23:43Speaker 1: to be honest, because let's be honest, if you're taking
- 23:46Speaker 1: photos for Instagram, you're probably taking at least three hundred
- 23:49Speaker 1: photos for that one good pick, so you know times
- 23:52Speaker 1: that by however much. I got on vacation with my
- 23:55Speaker 1: sister and Pudicana and then my trip was ZAC. So anyways,
- 23:58Speaker 1: there's a lot of content that I need to go
- 23:59Speaker 1: through and get rid of. So definitely need to do
- 24:02Speaker 1: that is a camera roll clean and just like an
- 24:03Speaker 1: iPhone cleanup. Also, just like if there's apps that you
- 24:06Speaker 1: downloaded that you don't ever use, like that's something that
- 24:10Speaker 1: you could just delete and get rid of. I know,
- 24:12Speaker 1: I definitely have useless apps that I do not need
- 24:14Speaker 1: on my phone, So doing kind of like an iPhone
- 24:16Speaker 1: clean and then you know, going through your laptop any
- 24:20Speaker 1: like screenshots or like your emails is something that I
- 24:24Speaker 1: should go through as well, your files, just kind of
- 24:27Speaker 1: like tiding up your screensaver and deleting anything that's just
- 24:30Speaker 1: not necessary. But yeah, so just kind of like a
- 24:34Speaker 1: digital cleanup or a digital declutter, I guess you could say,
- 24:38Speaker 1: so going through it and just yeah, decluttering everything off
- 24:42Speaker 1: your iPhone and your laptop would be essential for going
- 24:45Speaker 1: into a new season. Things that you could do also
- 24:48Speaker 1: within your home to make it feel like more spring
- 24:50Speaker 1: and going into a new season is thinking about the
- 24:53Speaker 1: sense in your home. So I'm a big candle girl.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I love my candles, So for me, I kind of
- 24:59Speaker 1: like buying candles based off the season. So usually for Fall,
- 25:02Speaker 1: I'm doing more of like a kind of like mahogany
- 25:06Speaker 1: wood scent. I really like that, those deep tones of that.
- 25:10Speaker 1: For Christmas I'm doing more like cedar vibes, and then
- 25:13Speaker 1: I feel like for spring, I'm very much into like
- 25:15Speaker 1: that floral vanilla scent. So whenever I go to home
- 25:19Speaker 1: sense or if you have like a home goods or
- 25:21Speaker 1: anything like that, I'm always looking for sense that I
- 25:22Speaker 1: feel like reflects the season, and you know, when you
- 25:26Speaker 1: light it and it's in your home, it like makes
- 25:27Speaker 1: you think of spring, or it makes you think of
- 25:29Speaker 1: that season. I also love like room sprays or like
- 25:33Speaker 1: bedroom sprays, like keep your house smelling fresh again, going
- 25:37Speaker 1: with the floral scent for the spring season. So just
- 25:42Speaker 1: doing little things like that I talked about in the
- 25:43Speaker 1: last episode two of like finding ways to like decorate
- 25:46Speaker 1: your home for spring, like getting dish towels or you know,
- 25:50Speaker 1: kitchen towels in the colors that like really reflect springs,
- 25:53Speaker 1: so like baby blue, baby pink, all that that's something
- 25:56Speaker 1: that I actually want to do. I should be going
- 25:58Speaker 1: to Home Sense maybe next weekend, just because this weekend
- 26:01Speaker 1: is my birthday and it's just too crazy of a
- 26:04Speaker 1: weekend planning a birthday party, and I never really talked
- 26:07Speaker 1: about that with you guys. I'll talk about that at
- 26:09Speaker 1: the end of this episode. But I have my birthday
- 26:11Speaker 1: party this weekend, so it's kind of just been a
- 26:13Speaker 1: crazy week of planning some things for that. So maybe
- 26:15Speaker 1: next week I will do a little spring refresh flog
- 26:18Speaker 1: and we'll go to Home Sence. We'll pick out some
- 26:20Speaker 1: things to the house just to make it feel a
- 26:22Speaker 1: bit more spring. We talked about this as April goals,
- 26:25Speaker 1: but getting outside more and doing some activities outside is
- 26:28Speaker 1: really important. So you know, maybe getting into some hobbies
- 26:31Speaker 1: that you've been wanting to get back into, Like golfing
- 26:34Speaker 1: is something that I've been wanting to get back into.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Zach's obviously a big golfer, so just going to the
- 26:40Speaker 1: driving range with him playing you know, a nine hole
- 26:43Speaker 1: would be super fun. I love playing pickleball, So getting
- 26:46Speaker 1: back into that, biking, rollerblading, you guys get the gist,
- 26:51Speaker 1: But like getting outside more and just really starting to
- 26:54Speaker 1: enjoy the warmer weather. And again it's kind of benefiting
- 26:58Speaker 1: with getting more sunlight by being outside more and moving
- 27:02Speaker 1: our bodies by doing something active all that. Another thing
- 27:06Speaker 1: you can do for spring refresh is getting a haircut
- 27:09Speaker 1: or getting your nails done, like doing any kind of
- 27:12Speaker 1: appointment that makes you feel good. I'm getting a haircut
- 27:16Speaker 1: actually next week. I haven't gotten one since December, I think,
- 27:19Speaker 1: so for me, like, that's going to feel so nice
- 27:22Speaker 1: just having my hair freshly done. It's a huge mood booster,
- 27:27Speaker 1: it's a huge confidence booster. So maybe you haven't gotten
- 27:30Speaker 1: your nails done in a while, get your nails done,
- 27:32Speaker 1: maybe get them, you know, in a color that reflects
- 27:34Speaker 1: the spring season, like a baby pink or a baby blue,
- 27:38Speaker 1: or like something with florals on it. So I don't know,
- 27:41Speaker 1: just like find things that maybe you haven't done in
- 27:43Speaker 1: a while that makes you feel good and makes you
- 27:45Speaker 1: feel refreshed. Like I always love having a pedicure on.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I find having a matching pedicure and manicure always makes
- 27:50Speaker 1: me feel really refreshed and just more confident. So yeah,
- 27:55Speaker 1: just like doing little things like that where you can
- 27:57Speaker 1: book an appointment that makes you feel good going into
- 28:01Speaker 1: a new season that you feel like you might need
- 28:03Speaker 1: a little refresh on, Like I said, your hair, your eyebrows, anything. Really,
- 28:07Speaker 1: the last thing I'm god to recommend when it comes
- 28:09Speaker 1: to your spring checklist is prioritizing tasks that they've been
- 28:11Speaker 1: putting aside. So I don't know, I feel like there's
- 28:14Speaker 1: always things that people are doing in their homes or
- 28:18Speaker 1: work wise that they want to complete before the summer,
- 28:21Speaker 1: because let's be honest, I feel like everyone's summer is
- 28:23Speaker 1: usually pretty busy with plans, whether it's with friends, family,
- 28:26Speaker 1: or booking vacations with like your boyfriend or your husband.
- 28:30Speaker 1: So there's definitely a lot of tasks that like Zach
- 28:32Speaker 1: and I have put aside that we always, you know,
- 28:35Speaker 1: say we're going to do in the winter, but then
- 28:36Speaker 1: things get busy, you know with work or you know, travel,
- 28:39Speaker 1: whatever the case may be. So for us, like my
- 28:42Speaker 1: office slash podcast studio is something that we're going to
- 28:44Speaker 1: start getting back into next weekend. We need to paint it,
- 28:47Speaker 1: We have to pick up the chairs and just like
- 28:50Speaker 1: add little details like a TV all that. And then
- 28:54Speaker 1: another thing we've been wanting to do is in my
- 28:56Speaker 1: living room, we have like little indents between our fireplace,
- 29:01Speaker 1: like little knooks, and we've been wanting to add floating
- 29:03Speaker 1: shelves there. So that's another thing that we've been wanting
- 29:06Speaker 1: to do, potentially getting some backyard furniture, as I said,
- 29:09Speaker 1: so getting lawn chairs, getting couches, setting up like a
- 29:12Speaker 1: little kind of like backyard patio situation. So yeah, So
- 29:16Speaker 1: just like little things that you guys have been putting aside,
- 29:19Speaker 1: is definitely important to take on during the spring season because,
- 29:22Speaker 1: as I said, let's be honest, summer's busy. You're not
- 29:25Speaker 1: going to have the time to probably do those things
- 29:27Speaker 1: on a weekend. Another thing for us is, like Zach's
- 29:30Speaker 1: a huge sports guy, So he plays a lot of
- 29:33Speaker 1: sports on the summer, like golfing and softball and baseball anyways,
- 29:37Speaker 1: So I feel like a lot of the weekends that
- 29:39Speaker 1: I want to get stuff done in the backyard. He's
- 29:41Speaker 1: not always free to do so because he's usually in
- 29:43Speaker 1: tournaments or you know, doing stuff with the guys. So
- 29:46Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, what we should prioritize April and
- 29:49Speaker 1: May as like the two months of just getting everything
- 29:52Speaker 1: that we need to get done around the house and
- 29:54Speaker 1: just things that we've been you know, kind of putting
- 29:56Speaker 1: on the back burner and not doing. I'm like, I
- 29:58Speaker 1: really want to finish it that way going into the summer.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Everything's done and we can just focus on enjoying the outdoors,
- 30:05Speaker 1: enjoying time with you know, family, friends, doing activities outside
- 30:08Speaker 1: all that. I just really want to prioritize this summer
- 30:11Speaker 1: with not doing things around the house. I just want
- 30:13Speaker 1: to be outside and enjoy the time that we do
- 30:15Speaker 1: have for the summer season. So making those tasks a
- 30:18Speaker 1: priority in the spring season I think is crucial for
- 30:21Speaker 1: not just for myself, but for you guys, and something
- 30:24Speaker 1: to think about. And it could be things that are
- 30:26Speaker 1: not related to a house, could be things that you know,
- 30:28Speaker 1: I said that it could be related to work, Like
- 30:30Speaker 1: there could be stuff that you've been really wanting to
- 30:31Speaker 1: work on, whether it's things for your own brand or
- 30:34Speaker 1: just things that you have at the office that you're like, Okay,
- 30:37Speaker 1: I should probably get this done. Like you're gonna want
- 30:40Speaker 1: to take some time off realistically in the summer, So
- 30:42Speaker 1: just really prioritize everything now for saving it for the summer,
- 30:46Speaker 1: and then that way you have the summer to not
- 30:48Speaker 1: stress about it knowing that you did all those tasks
- 30:51Speaker 1: in the spring. So that's everything that I compiled together
- 30:54Speaker 1: for a little spring refresh checklist, along with my goals
- 30:58Speaker 1: and habits that I'm hoping to take into April this month.
- 31:02Speaker 1: But I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. As I said,
- 31:05Speaker 1: I am celebrating my birthday this weekend, so I'm actually
- 31:08Speaker 1: hosting Bresso Martini themed birthday. I'm so excited. Last year
- 31:12Speaker 1: I did host something here at my house, but this year,
- 31:15Speaker 1: I'm actually hosting something at a restaurant. It's kind of
- 31:18Speaker 1: like a private event that I'm hosting with a restaurant,
- 31:21Speaker 1: and I'm super excited. There's gonna be a lot of
- 31:24Speaker 1: express martinis. Obviously, I'm doing a lot of things that
- 31:27Speaker 1: are like all brown theme all that, and I've been
- 31:30Speaker 1: super into brown lately, so I'm so excited. It should
- 31:34Speaker 1: be so fun and I can't wait to share with
- 31:36Speaker 1: you guys all the content in regards to it, So
- 31:38Speaker 1: stay tuned for some fun content these next few days
- 31:42Speaker 1: through my social media. But I love you guys allso much.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Thank you guys for listening. If you're knew, definitely make
