  SPEAKER_00: Jumping into differences from manga and trivia, starting with the differences, Masteroshi and his group scene Chiatsu brought out of the hall and everything is exclusive to the anime.

  SPEAKER_00: In the anime, a member of the tournament staff is shown trying to stop Hiro from entering the main hall after he takes a bathroom break, but this wasn't in the manga.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, we have, you know, you got Goku, you got Mysterious Woman named Anonymous, you got Krillin, you got Yamcha, you got Tien, you got Tao, you got Piccolo, you got Yajiro.

  SPEAKER_00: Random guy who shows up and just headbutts him and knocks him out cold.

  SPEAKER_00: And now Hero's made it into the final eight.

  SPEAKER_00: He won the conference championship on a buzzer beater.

  SPEAKER_00: He made it, he got his automatic bid, and he's gonna make the best of it.

  SPEAKER_00: So let's go into our matchups, Jesse.

  SPEAKER_00: We have Goku versus Anonymous, Talentian, Yamcha, and Hero, and Krillin and Piccolo.

  SPEAKER_00: So our bracket was a little off on what we had done as chalk, so we'll have to fix that moving forward.

  SPEAKER_01: But I think we've gotten most most of the matchups that we predicted are probably gonna happen.

  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we we pretty much got it, except for a couple of things that were different.

  SPEAKER_01: But like Yad Robi didn't make it, and then um Yadrobi is not the first round uh sacrifice to uh uh uh Piccolo.

  SPEAKER_00: But with that, we move into our first round, which is between mercenary Tao, eternal bullying teacher of Tien Shen Han, versus Tien Shinhan, who is now Zen with the power, and he wipes the floor with Tao.

  SPEAKER_00: It is not even close.

  SPEAKER_00: To the point where Tao pulls out a knife or pulls out a sword to try to kill Tien, which doesn't work.

  SPEAKER_00: Like a knife hand blade blade.

  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like a knife hand blade that was kind of they called it a knife, but it's kind of like sword length, and then uh Tien or then Tao or Tien breaks it, and then Tao's like, Well, I used to think I got my super Dodon Ray gun, and Tien shakes that off, and then one punches him into unconsciousness for m what he said was a few days, and we leave off with Goku facing Anonymous, but we don't get to see anything that happens in that fight until the next episode.

  SPEAKER_01: Because it kind of fills into like what happens to the people who do get completely manhandled in the rings in the preliminaries.

  SPEAKER_01: Well, they get stretchered out, and everyone that's the only tidbit of information that most people will get in the crowd until the final eight is who's getting stretch who's not making it.

  SPEAKER_01: And that's how our uh our group, you know, Roshi and everybody, is able to find out that Chiatsu lost.

  SPEAKER_00: And then because they found out who how Chi or that that Chiatsu lost, they were able to eventually find out who Chiatsu lost to.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, and they were both shocked, dismayed, and Roshi in particular was a a mess of anxiety, a ball of anxiety.

  SPEAKER_01: Because not only is Tao back, Shin is back.

  SPEAKER_00: And all not only is Tao and Shin back, but Tao drew Tien for round one.

  SPEAKER_00: Which he's like, you know, if Tao drew Goku, Roshi's not gonna be that worried.

  SPEAKER_00: He's like, Goku is far beyond anybody on this planet outside of the green alien.

  SPEAKER_01: And Roshi is worried because he knows Tao is really, really strong.

  SPEAKER_00: But he's also worried because he knows that Tao like has the mental he th he assumes that Tao has the mental advantage over Tien because of all of the relentless bullying that we find out in the tragic backstory flashback that we get for a minute.

  SPEAKER_00: Where T where Tao just beat the crap out of Tien until Tien was finally strong enough to not get hurt by it.

  SPEAKER_00: That's the uh extent of it, was just he gets shot with Dodon Ray after Dodon Ray until he like you know apparently gets it off.

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.

  SPEAKER_01: But to no one's surprise who has been watching this show and kind of a display.

  SPEAKER_01: Especially Goku.

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like Goku is the only one who's like, yeah, Tien's gonna win, don't worry, guys.

  SPEAKER_01: Because I think Goku could sense, like I think it's implied that Goku has mastered sensing power levels.

  SPEAKER_00: Because we we even saw it when the before the tournament starts, where he's like, it's time, and then as soon as he says that they all fly.

  SPEAKER_01: Goku has learned how to sense people's energies, and he was probably sensing like super strong energy off of Tien.

  SPEAKER_01: And like decently strong, but slightly above average for Tiao.

  SPEAKER_01: Um but yeah, it's like that's like Goku's just like, yeah, he's gonna win, guys, don't worry.

  SPEAKER_00: And everybody's like, is Tien like scared?

  SPEAKER_00: And he's like, and Goku's like, no, Tao doesn't know how to beat him.

  SPEAKER_00: Like Tao's trying to work out the Tien's frozen.

  SPEAKER_01: He's like, no, Tien's not frozen.

  SPEAKER_01: Tao's frozen.

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Tao's fine.

  SPEAKER_01: Tien's exactly where he wants to be.

  SPEAKER_01: Tien knows that as long as he doesn't like gaff up the first move, Tien's unbeatable in this moment.

  SPEAKER_00: And even if he does gaff up the first move, as we see, he lets his guard down and gets like and like looks off to the side, isn't paying attention, he's still able to recover in time to not let that matter.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, like in the first episode, I guess we before we get into the second into Tien and Tao, we should get we should talk about the the bracket that we we pitched you guys last week.

  SPEAKER_01: Just off of how he looks, the best guess in in this is giving Roshi credit for getting some at some point in his life.

  SPEAKER_01: That would be that that would be and I'm probably giving Roshi way more credit for his ability to play when he was younger.

  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, or you know, like, you know, one where he like he abandoned him shortly after birth with like tragic backstory, heroes trying to get through to kill all like he he's playing it off like he's a silly guy, but as soon as he sees Yamcha's wearing the turtle hermit, he locks in, he's like, Time for you to die.

  SPEAKER_00: And then we finally find out that they did and that the rest of the group did, in fact, get to the top.

  SPEAKER_00: And uh definitely, if he did come, he probably would have won, and definitely not lost to some loser nerd named like Hero or something, just as an example.

  SPEAKER_01: And it is and is now hiding in the bushes to overhear us talking about how much of a wuss he is.
