- 0:04Speaker 1: Welcome back to Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists
- 0:07Speaker 1: this week on the show. Mmmuh oh my gosh, have
- 0:10Speaker 1: we been caught on camera? That's right, we're talking to
- 0:13Speaker 1: kiss cams.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Kiss cams are the number one greatest things at every
- 0:17Speaker 2: sporting event in the audience. You get to be activated.
- 0:21Speaker 2: You are caught on camera and you're part of the
- 0:23Speaker 2: big game and scene on the jumbo trump. These are
- 0:26Speaker 2: the guys that help capture it.
- 0:27Speaker 3: All during sports games.
- 0:29Speaker 4: They gotta buy time for commercials, so many other things
- 0:32Speaker 4: going on, and you gotta keep the crowd activated. These guys,
- 0:36Speaker 4: these brains and these artists do that.
- 0:39Speaker 5: So pucker up and let's listen in. And so I
- 0:47Speaker 5: head the angle all chosen. I had the angle on
- 0:52Speaker 5: these two love birds and they are locked into each
- 0:57Speaker 5: other's eyes and they are staring, and they are staring,
- 1:01Speaker 5: and then they look up at the camera and they go,
- 1:03Speaker 5: oh is that us? And in that moment they became
- 1:08Speaker 5: a couple perfect and they are married to this day.
- 1:12Speaker 5: And that is not the only kiss cam marriage that
- 1:15Speaker 5: there has been.
- 1:16Speaker 1: You kept in touch with them, I keep.
- 1:18Speaker 5: In touch with everybody.
- 1:20Speaker 2: That's why we do it.
- 1:21Speaker 3: That's this is why we do this. That's why we
- 1:23Speaker 3: freaking do it.
- 1:24Speaker 2: That's why we do it.
- 1:25Speaker 5: This is why we do the kiss cam.
- 1:27Speaker 2: This is the kind of thing that we're doing.
- 1:29Speaker 1: That's why we do it.
- 1:31Speaker 6: It's not just about the athletes, are right, some of
- 1:33Speaker 6: the athletes and then the features.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Uh, that's right, some of the freaking.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Athletes are sitting out there and listen.
- 1:40Speaker 6: I don't think we give enough credit that there's so
- 1:43Speaker 6: much time in between this so much.
- 1:45Speaker 2: There's so much time in between. There's always a lot
- 1:48Speaker 2: of time.
- 1:49Speaker 1: There's always sight because.
- 1:51Speaker 2: We're the ones that find those moments. We're the ones
- 1:53Speaker 2: that lok in. We say, hey, y'all are part of
- 1:57Speaker 2: this too, y'all are involved in this. Give them the
- 2:00Speaker 2: moment to sean. Usually they're looking up there, they're seeing
- 2:03Speaker 2: a rod they're seeing no more Garcia Para, they're seeing
- 2:06Speaker 2: pad Rodriguez. But now they're seeing themselves up there. That's exciting.
- 2:10Speaker 1: We are trying to capture that moment, that embrace of love,
- 2:16Speaker 1: that infinite decibel capturing of sound that comes from a smooch,
- 2:25Speaker 1: that exactly that a fucka sexy, raunchy, inappropriate feeling of lust.
- 2:36Speaker 5: A smooch can move a thousand ships. A smooch can
- 2:41Speaker 5: mend countries and destroying men. A smooch is the most
- 2:47Speaker 5: powerful weapon we have.
- 2:50Speaker 6: Always get a ball a the way down in the
- 2:53Speaker 6: first yard line.
- 2:55Speaker 2: A smooth can start a war. A smooch get into war.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I'm always there would be no wars if they put
- 3:04Speaker 1: kiss cams in those meetings. Oh god, the leaders had
- 3:08Speaker 1: to be caught and all of a sudden kiss each other.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Broadcast kiss came into this situation room.
- 3:16Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, c G TV. What's the stuff of
- 3:19Speaker 6: congress making all those votes?
- 3:22Speaker 5: Putant kiss cam in the Congress and we will have bipartisanship.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Let's see Marjorie Taylor Green kissing AOC. That would change
- 3:35Speaker 2: the world.
- 3:36Speaker 6: It would not because it just both girls, not just
- 3:41Speaker 6: because of that.
- 3:42Speaker 1: And that's and that's again we're gonna get into this.
- 3:45Speaker 1: It's not just because they're both girls.
- 3:48Speaker 2: We're gonna probably talk on it. If I could predict
- 3:50Speaker 2: it at length about same set couffles in kiss tamp
- 3:54Speaker 2: and what do we do and what what do we do?
- 3:58Speaker 5: You change the idol?
- 4:00Speaker 2: Then Okay, we ain't getting.
- 4:01Speaker 1: There yet, but I will say I will say it
- 4:05Speaker 1: did all change after nine.
- 4:07Speaker 6: Eleven, yestern bags had to be clear in the stadium.
- 4:11Speaker 1: And if there was a kiss cam that captured Bush
- 4:17Speaker 1: and Osama, I don't think he would have done that the.
- 4:20Speaker 6: Original original watch me all this cam.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Okay, guys, hold on, okay, we ain't even introduced ourselves.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Now we're doing kiss cam on nine to eleven. We're
- 4:34Speaker 2: doing teaching kiss camp. Guys, you did the whisper you did.
- 4:39Speaker 5: I was trying Orange Bush, to be honest, I'm showing
- 4:42Speaker 5: kiss camp build. I wasn't sure if I was supposed
- 4:43Speaker 5: to kiss him. What could be?
- 4:46Speaker 3: The kiss came on nine eleven, and that was kind
- 4:48Speaker 3: of what I'm thinking.
- 4:48Speaker 5: That is then eleven kiss camp.
- 4:50Speaker 2: It's yeah, we got new guests and they're showing up
- 4:53Speaker 2: to an eleven PM party. You don't know if.
- 4:56Speaker 5: You are watching, you did not skip to halfway through
- 4:59Speaker 5: the video. You actually are starting at minute one.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Just we just have.
- 5:06Speaker 2: This, Okay, this is passionate. We're passionate piece.
- 5:09Speaker 6: Yeah, and you might be wondering, isn't that just one
- 5:11Speaker 6: camera pointing somewhere with a filter on top of it
- 5:13Speaker 6: telling people to kiss?
- 5:14Speaker 2: No?
- 5:15Speaker 3: No, we got coordinators, we got film operators.
- 5:18Speaker 6: We got people pulling focus, we have people building graphics,
- 5:21Speaker 6: we have people running the sound.
- 5:22Speaker 3: It's a whole operation.
- 5:24Speaker 5: We are the kiss Cam team, and we we run
- 5:27Speaker 5: in tandem with the baseball stadium in house Jumbo Trons team.
- 5:33Speaker 5: But we are a special predict just like the producers
- 5:37Speaker 5: of the halftime show are not the same as the
- 5:40Speaker 5: producers of the football broadcast. We have our own section.
- 5:45Speaker 2: In house, and we do a lot of stuff. Right,
- 5:47Speaker 2: We ain't just kiss Cam. We're the dot race. We're
- 5:50Speaker 2: uh a celebrity look alike. Okay, we do all that stuff,
- 5:53Speaker 2: but we love.
- 5:55Speaker 1: For us the kiss Cam is the pinnacle. It's the showtime.
- 5:58Speaker 1: All of that other stuff is eating up to or
- 6:01Speaker 1: past it.
- 6:02Speaker 5: The kism is the tenth pole.
- 6:04Speaker 1: We always say top of the fourth.
- 6:09Speaker 3: And then I'd say about like third quarter, fourth corner.
- 6:11Speaker 6: We start doing uncle of sleep over there on the lap.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Little kid looks a little too passionate for to be
- 6:19Speaker 3: a kid.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Stuff like that. It is tired. Little kid is sugary.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Blonde woman, blonde woman in glasses. We know isn't gonna
- 6:27Speaker 2: be looking up.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Yeah, group of girls gonna miss it's group of.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Girls, group of girls and like this, Yeah, we should
- 6:38Speaker 3: go around. We should go around and talk about we should.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Because what are we if not the embodiment of love
- 6:50Speaker 1: incarnate in a moment?
- 6:51Speaker 5: You wish to do this kiss cam discussion anonymously.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Because why would I interrupt love? Why would I feels
- 6:59Speaker 1: like you're getting in the middle of your shoe. You
- 7:01Speaker 1: don't want us.
- 7:01Speaker 5: To put on agoes ahead of the kiss.
- 7:04Speaker 3: I think saying the process is kind of the idea behind.
- 7:06Speaker 2: The interview, but I would just say logistically to be
- 7:10Speaker 2: not to have a name.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Hi, I'm Caine Deuterotomy, and I've been working in kiss
- 7:18Speaker 1: cam for about six years now. I kind of stumbled
- 7:24Speaker 1: into it.
- 7:25Speaker 3: We call that the makeout contract.
- 7:27Speaker 1: The makeout You are too bad, So I stumbled into it.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I was doing porn.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Deuterotomy was doing porn.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Right, we'll talk about how how how that that fateful
- 7:48Speaker 2: day came because because we called you last resort.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Last Resort, I had put my resume in I'd want
- 7:54Speaker 1: to be. I had wanted to segue myself out of
- 7:56Speaker 1: that industry for a while, but it's just too good money,
- 8:01Speaker 1: so I submitted. Just I saw this post that said
- 8:04Speaker 1: looking for people who know how to kiss and know
- 8:06Speaker 1: how to capture it on camera. And I said, that
- 8:09Speaker 1: is literally my m o. That he's the world I
- 8:12Speaker 1: have been investing in for a very long time. Yeah,
- 8:16Speaker 1: let me see and throw my hat and run.
- 8:18Speaker 2: And I think that is gorgeous. By the way, I
- 8:19Speaker 2: just want to shout out. You know you sent over
- 8:21Speaker 2: your reel. Yeah, you were known in the porn industry
- 8:24Speaker 2: for wanting to stay on kissing.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Yes, I said, don't move on to this. I said, whoa, whoa, whoa,
- 8:30Speaker 1: let's not skip this part.
- 8:32Speaker 3: We got to see.
- 8:33Speaker 6: We got to see what was so important, right, which
- 8:36Speaker 6: is your pan because you would naturally go down and
- 8:38Speaker 6: then you'd pam back up to me.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Yes, the cameraman is always trying to pan down and
- 8:42Speaker 1: I am literally grabbing that cameo Sam, going you shoot
- 8:46Speaker 1: them all the way back up, buddy. You do not
- 8:49Speaker 1: tilt down until I say you tilt down.
- 8:52Speaker 3: So you operate, You operate the machine.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Ah. Yes, so I am one of the machine operators.
- 8:57Speaker 1: I'm I both work in the finding and the machine operators.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Because a lot of the kiss camp is I am
- 9:03Speaker 1: on a camera that's not on record. They have not
- 9:05Speaker 1: thrown to me. I am looking around the audience trying
- 9:09Speaker 1: to find that perfect couple that I know I can
- 9:12Speaker 1: convince a kiss if I hold on them long enough.
- 9:14Speaker 6: And we work in video village, a part of video
- 9:17Speaker 6: Village that isn't where they do the scoreboard or anything.
- 9:19Speaker 3: We call it lip gloss toss.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Yeah, at least call it lip gloss. Literally actually started
- 9:25Speaker 1: this game because sometimes we get bored and it goes think.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Yeah, we toss a thing, a lip gloss, back and forth.
- 9:32Speaker 2: You see how many times we can throw it before
- 9:33Speaker 2: someone drops.
- 9:34Speaker 5: And three points three consecutive throws this, five points, five
- 9:38Speaker 5: consecutive throws this ten points.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's kind of prorated, like you'd buy tickets at
- 9:42Speaker 2: a county bear, kind of one of those impossible to
- 9:46Speaker 2: figure out scales.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Five in a row would be much more points I have.
- 9:55Speaker 5: The fun is trying to remember how many points is five?
- 9:59Speaker 2: Five is eight, he's fourteen. It's good, very exciting, but
- 10:02Speaker 2: then fourteen is three. I hit too many, So you.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Have to budget.
- 10:07Speaker 2: You're too hot. You gotta ask the bank. Somebody is
- 10:11Speaker 2: always the bank. You gotta get a loan. You gotta
- 10:15Speaker 2: get a loan for how many times you throw it
- 10:16Speaker 2: and then.
- 10:17Speaker 6: There's the robber.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Everyone guesses when I'm the robber.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Giggling your jiggling eyebrows up, You're very obvious.
- 10:34Speaker 3: The robber could take the inside of your lip gloss
- 10:37Speaker 3: and then.
- 10:39Speaker 2: And use it for their own I know, I know,
- 10:42Speaker 2: he y'all. How's it going. My name is Turkey Jerky
- 10:44Speaker 2: Turtle Top, and I'm so happy to be here. I
- 10:47Speaker 2: am the kissing scout. I'm the guy that knows who
- 10:52Speaker 2: we should paan to, who to grab and and it's
- 10:55Speaker 2: a you know, a fun time to come join everybody
- 10:57Speaker 2: in lipcofs toss. But I actually have of a job
- 11:00Speaker 2: where I'm out in the field, kind of in cognito,
- 11:03Speaker 2: watching people, you know, eating sunflower seeds, sitting on the fence.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Wh I launched a thousand kisses.
- 11:09Speaker 2: You know, I came from. I used to be a
- 11:13Speaker 2: talent scout for the Duke University. I was a sports
- 11:20Speaker 2: sports you know, baseball team baseball scout, and I started
- 11:25Speaker 2: getting caught, you know, I was looking at this game
- 11:29Speaker 2: and it was his high school team out in Kansas.
- 11:32Speaker 2: And it was funny because they were right next to
- 11:35Speaker 2: a train station. It was just baseball field next to
- 11:37Speaker 2: a train station. And I looked over and I saw
- 11:41Speaker 2: a couple saying goodbye on the train and they kiss
- 11:44Speaker 2: for a long time and they looked back and someone said, hey,
- 11:47Speaker 2: you were supposed to be watching Jerry Jefferes. You just
- 11:49Speaker 2: hit a grand slam. I said, you know, I'm focusing
- 11:51Speaker 2: on something different. I like that, you know. And I
- 11:54Speaker 2: went up to them and I said, hey, I like
- 11:55Speaker 2: I like what you all. Y'all are up to what
- 11:58Speaker 2: they said, mind drun business, you pervert. And I realize
- 12:02Speaker 2: I need to figure out a place where it's okay
- 12:04Speaker 2: for me to be looking. Yeah, exactly.
- 12:07Speaker 1: So I'm walking around, I'm seeing who's in the costumes.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I mean going to somebody or you dress up as
- 12:13Speaker 1: some yellers.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I dress up as popcorn guys. I dress up
- 12:17Speaker 2: as somebody selling beer. I dress up as someone selling
- 12:20Speaker 2: raffle tickets. You know, I'm I'm different kinds of outfits.
- 12:22Speaker 2: So see who actually is in love? Because I am
- 12:25Speaker 2: it's important to me that I show people that are
- 12:29Speaker 2: in love on the kiss Cam. And it's an investment.
- 12:32Speaker 2: So if you're on the kiss Camp, I'm not gonna
- 12:34Speaker 2: be made to fool the next day when the news
- 12:36Speaker 2: comes out that you were on the Kiss Camp but
- 12:37Speaker 2: you're getting a divorce. He'p.
- 12:39Speaker 3: He's listening to any conversations.
- 12:41Speaker 6: If he finds somebody that he likes, he's gonna go
- 12:43Speaker 6: over there and he's gonna make sure you guys are
- 12:44Speaker 6: listening and responding and being respectful to each.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Othersolutely depend on some of the stadiums we're working at.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I have a special deal with the local law enforcement
- 12:51Speaker 2: to read everybody's tent so I can get them and
- 12:54Speaker 2: I can. I can read them, and I can see
- 12:56Speaker 2: who's in love. You know. If I see people that
- 12:57Speaker 2: I like, I can. I have this kind of sonar
- 13:00Speaker 2: device and I can know what phone is your phone is,
- 13:03Speaker 2: and then I can look in your kick.
- 13:05Speaker 1: So well, let's keep going around. Let's finish these out,
- 13:08Speaker 1: even though we shouldn't. Anonymity is so much.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Alright, all right, what's up?
- 13:18Speaker 3: What's up? I'm Brandon Brando, and I am I've been
- 13:23Speaker 3: on the team. I'm the Kiss Camp team for a while.
- 13:26Speaker 6: I do all the voices in between the the I
- 13:30Speaker 6: do all the activity voices. So there's a voice, there's
- 13:32Speaker 6: a voice of God, usually like John Mann, and there's
- 13:35Speaker 6: somebody else doing like saying what's.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Going on with the scores and what's going on with
- 13:39Speaker 3: the players.
- 13:39Speaker 6: But I do the activities, the voices for this T shirt, Cannon,
- 13:43Speaker 6: the voices for the kiss cam, and I'll do a
- 13:45Speaker 6: little I'll show you listen, I'll do you this.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I do like this.
- 13:48Speaker 3: And no Hawker up those lips.
- 13:52Speaker 1: We're doing kiss cam.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Hello Wisconsin, show us the love and the cheese.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Brandon, I don't even know how you found out you
- 14:02Speaker 2: know how to do that voice.
- 14:04Speaker 1: I will say, I think people get wrong impression because
- 14:06Speaker 1: your voice sounds high. But you've told me you're just
- 14:09Speaker 1: on constant vocal rest.
- 14:10Speaker 5: Yeah, you are perpetually resting for the big moment each game.
- 14:17Speaker 6: I choose to talk like this up here because it
- 14:19Speaker 6: saves it. And I use all my head voice up here.
- 14:21Speaker 6: So then when it's time for me to activate.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Who wants a T shirt? Open up? I love when
- 14:29Speaker 2: you say open up?
- 14:30Speaker 1: When up, Well, you're always trying to shoot. They get
- 14:36Speaker 1: the T shirt? Keeted to shoot it up then? And
- 14:40Speaker 1: what's fun up that women spread their legs? Open up?
- 14:44Speaker 2: And I don't mean it a lot that you had
- 14:47Speaker 2: to start saying that.
- 14:48Speaker 6: I appreciate you, but but I like being with the
- 14:50Speaker 6: programming team because we're on the spot writing the copy.
- 14:54Speaker 5: We're on the spot.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Though, you guys will pitch something. You'll be like, okay,
- 14:57Speaker 3: something like we have a lot of kids, let's this
- 14:59Speaker 3: kid cam.
- 15:00Speaker 7: Right.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Sometimes we'll do that.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I will do a kid scale instead of a kiss
- 15:03Speaker 1: care because let me see.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Them five year olds.
- 15:08Speaker 5: And it's like, really always.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Struggling with you on the line of how to not
- 15:12Speaker 1: make it sound like the creepiest things I've ever heard of?
- 15:15Speaker 5: It taste off?
- 15:16Speaker 1: What? What?
- 15:17Speaker 5: How how you can get them to do exactly that
- 15:20Speaker 5: what you're describing is what we want them to do,
- 15:24Speaker 5: But it has to be there must be a tweak
- 15:26Speaker 5: in the wording we can use.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Well, I just kinda go off the couple a little
- 15:29Speaker 3: like like it's Mother's Day, Mama's get up, open up.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I think it's open up because you need to stop.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Definitely the hardest nice that one felt like mothers would
- 15:45Speaker 1: turn to their sons and finally open up after all
- 15:48Speaker 1: these years it's been on their mind, something that's been
- 15:51Speaker 1: on their minds.
- 15:51Speaker 5: I do think we should do the open up cam.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I think that could be nervous about it. I think
- 15:56Speaker 2: it's not specific enough, and we're going to be getting
- 15:58Speaker 2: stuff we don't want.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Let's get to specifically just when.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Your mouth open up your mouth, and then that's gonna
- 16:06Speaker 2: be a little grotesque of course. Yeah.
- 16:09Speaker 3: But I love working with you guys because I love
- 16:10Speaker 3: when you guys nudge me. You go go now.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Now, it's all lines, it's all nudget in lines.
- 16:17Speaker 5: Hello. My name is uh Alabaster Martini and I am
- 16:24Speaker 5: a kiss cam dramaturg. I have poured through hours and
- 16:31Speaker 5: hours and hours of kiss cam footage and I do
- 16:34Speaker 5: the research and the the cultural context for the kiss
- 16:39Speaker 5: cam so I am able to add assist the director
- 16:45Speaker 5: and the direction of the kiss cam and put it
- 16:48Speaker 5: into context of its theatrical legacy, so.
- 16:52Speaker 1: People don't understand how necessary and important a drama turg
- 16:59Speaker 1: is for this job.
- 17:03Speaker 6: To me, running across the field with a camera, I'm like,
- 17:06Speaker 6: that's connected to a whia with a producer going over there,
- 17:10Speaker 6: over there, and then you get yacked by a rope
- 17:13Speaker 6: and it's alabasta going.
- 17:14Speaker 1: We've done that before.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Absolutely, it is.
- 17:16Speaker 5: The drama turks rope that I only use when I
- 17:19Speaker 5: absolutely have to. I never want to use the drama
- 17:24Speaker 5: turgs rope. That just always a last resort for if
- 17:28Speaker 5: the walkie isn't working, if I haven't flipped to the
- 17:31Speaker 5: right page in the kiss Can encyclopedia yet and caught
- 17:34Speaker 5: it in the right time, then I will resort to
- 17:37Speaker 5: the drama turks lasso. But I don't want to have
- 17:40Speaker 5: to use it. My goal is to make sure we
- 17:43Speaker 5: are always doing an original kiss can, or if we
- 17:47Speaker 5: are referencing a different kiss cam, we are doing so
- 17:51Speaker 5: within the cultural context we Payoma.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Because you know, without Alabaster, we'd be just like every
- 17:58Speaker 2: other kiss cam team. But truth is, we have Alabaster,
- 18:01Speaker 2: so now our kiss cams have context. No matter what.
- 18:05Speaker 1: There's a president will start playing older kiss cams to
- 18:09Speaker 1: show the audience and introduce to them what they're about
- 18:11Speaker 1: to see. We'll show, oh, right now on camera, you're
- 18:14Speaker 1: seeing tall boyfriend short girlfriend. We will show three other
- 18:18Speaker 1: kiss camps of tall boyfriend.
- 18:19Speaker 5: Generationally spanning back. There are so many instances of tall
- 18:24Speaker 5: girlfriend's short boyfriend that we have to get you in
- 18:27Speaker 5: touch with before. We can't just throw you into uh
- 18:33Speaker 5: a stella stella stolla. We can't throw you into Tennessee William.
- 18:37Speaker 3: We shall do that.
- 18:41Speaker 1: That's what we call stella stella stella is when you
- 18:44Speaker 1: have three girls in a row and you're not sure
- 18:45Speaker 1: which one is the is going to kiss the boy.
- 18:48Speaker 1: It's three girls and a bully in the middle.
- 18:51Speaker 5: Tell us, noll, I think we're in estella stella stella sit.
- 18:54Speaker 1: It's always a surprise. You go, which one do I
- 18:57Speaker 1: focus on? Let's give it a shot. Which one's the sister,
- 18:59Speaker 1: which whi one's the friend, which one is the girl?
- 19:01Speaker 2: And you know, yeah, go ahead. Oh. I was just
- 19:03Speaker 2: gonna say. A big thing that Alabasas help us with
- 19:06Speaker 2: is the order derives the messaging. So if we're going
- 19:10Speaker 2: from uh, you know, young young man, young woman, old man,
- 19:14Speaker 2: old woman man man woman woman, that's a specific story
- 19:20Speaker 2: and narrative that we're telling.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Said Alabaster will never ever let us start on.
- 19:26Speaker 5: No no, because it's called the kiss cam funnel. Right,
- 19:31Speaker 5: you start with the most familiar, average woman, average man
- 19:37Speaker 5: of average age. It's the funnel. It's the funnel. You'll
- 19:41Speaker 5: get them in with the heterosexuality. The heterosexuality is a.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Hook across the stadiu milk like this, And that's when
- 19:49Speaker 3: I vintage.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Then I go, oh, that's what that means. I was
- 19:53Speaker 1: waiting to see that because I thought that was the
- 19:55Speaker 1: signal either vagina or the British way of flipping somebody off.
- 20:00Speaker 1: It's a vintage.
- 20:02Speaker 5: Retrol.
- 20:04Speaker 3: I go Dodger fans, open up the dugout of the past.
- 20:08Speaker 4: It's time for some vintage kiss camt I like the
- 20:14Speaker 4: dug out of the past.
- 20:15Speaker 5: It is haunting and devocative. Oh, but I am part
- 20:20Speaker 5: of the greatest team in show business. We work in
- 20:23Speaker 5: tandem to make sure our kiss cam is delivering a
- 20:26Speaker 5: message and it is bringing people together. And it is
- 20:29Speaker 5: something for the people who don't just want to watch
- 20:31Speaker 5: the ball being thrown and hit and thrown and hit.
- 20:34Speaker 5: It is for the artists and the observers who are
- 20:38Speaker 5: walking into what they don't know yet is art, but
- 20:43Speaker 5: it is.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Because there are so many different ways a kiss cam
- 20:47Speaker 1: can end up. Is it a kiss between a married
- 20:51Speaker 1: couple of forty five years. Is it a kiss between
- 20:55Speaker 1: people that have only this is their first ding and
- 20:57Speaker 1: they've never even kissed. Is it a kiss between friends
- 21:01Speaker 1: that don't know what to do and they have to
- 21:03Speaker 1: figure out how to get through this awkward situation.
- 21:06Speaker 2: But I've done the math they are in love, they
- 21:08Speaker 2: don't know it.
- 21:09Speaker 1: You never know what you're gonna end up.
- 21:11Speaker 6: You never got in love with a game has a
- 21:13Speaker 6: kiss cam that you could tell to the first kiss.
- 21:16Speaker 6: But they were there on kind of a date. My god,
- 21:18Speaker 6: are you an artist in finding those people? You just
- 21:21Speaker 6: kind of calling out the elephant in the room, kind
- 21:23Speaker 6: of like a.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Mean girl in high school. It's like you two it
- 21:25Speaker 3: in love and you push them in a closet.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Well, there's always a tale. There's always a tale, right.
- 21:30Speaker 2: So I remember once I was at a Dowdger game
- 21:32Speaker 2: and I saw this one guy go up to the
- 21:36Speaker 2: counter that he was with a girl. And he went
- 21:38Speaker 2: up to the counter and he ordered something. He sopped
- 21:42Speaker 2: and he looked back and he said, do you want anything?
- 21:43Speaker 2: And I said, they're in love. They're in love. And
- 21:46Speaker 2: then he paid for it, and I said, that means
- 21:48Speaker 2: that they're not siblings. And that's the big thing I'm
- 21:51Speaker 2: looking for, right, I can tell sometimes people are in
- 21:53Speaker 2: love in a sibling familial sense or a relationship. It's
- 21:57Speaker 2: so sad.
- 21:57Speaker 1: One in one hundred you'll mess up.
- 21:59Speaker 2: It happens, happens, and they let us know really fast.
- 22:02Speaker 2: They do it and then if they kiss and they
- 22:05Speaker 2: are siblings, we don't know, you know, so we can't
- 22:08Speaker 2: know that. You come to me and say those two
- 22:10Speaker 2: were siblings, I don't know that.
- 22:12Speaker 1: And for me, what I really like about it is
- 22:14Speaker 1: I can actually still put it in the porn category. Sure,
- 22:17Speaker 1: oh this is step son, step mom. Sure it feels familiar,
- 22:21Speaker 1: feels familiar for me.
- 22:23Speaker 2: One thing that I have had kind of a fun time.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Then we've gone through some trials of it. Every single
- 22:29Speaker 2: ballpark has these theme nights. You know everyone's doing.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Uh well, I love LGBTQ night because it makes it easy.
- 22:37Speaker 2: It makes it easy, it makes it really easy. But
- 22:40Speaker 2: then there's you know, dog lovers nights, and there's there's
- 22:44Speaker 2: anime nights, you know, and they're they're really expanding. And
- 22:47Speaker 2: we had furry Night this year. Yeah, that was a
- 22:51Speaker 2: crazy one.
- 22:52Speaker 1: It was so odd.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Yeah night.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Now, if you're feel comfortable, show your face.
- 22:59Speaker 1: They will not show their face, but they are desperate
- 23:02Speaker 1: to kiss. That was a mistake on the right. Yeah.
- 23:05Speaker 2: I don't know why we thought they would.
- 23:08Speaker 5: We kind of thought we would get them in a
- 23:09Speaker 5: gotcha moment sort of You're not really a rabbit, are you?
- 23:14Speaker 3: It feels good.
- 23:15Speaker 6: It's the whole stadium of people. Send them and start
- 23:17Speaker 6: with if you're comfortable.
- 23:19Speaker 5: If you're comfortable, it's don't take it's really crazy.
- 23:24Speaker 2: It's really crazy.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Lots of hugs on that kiss can.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Just now, which is nice. We'll take it.
- 23:30Speaker 1: You know.
- 23:31Speaker 3: It was fun the hugcover cam or something we called it.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Here's something I love when you get too clearly straight
- 23:38Speaker 2: guys on the opposing team and you put them on
- 23:41Speaker 2: the kiss can because we got them as we got.
- 23:45Speaker 5: Yeah, imagine if the tool were Imagine what ruined you
- 23:53Speaker 5: fucking gay? Allow yourself to be consumed with the alternate
- 23:59Speaker 5: toysted reality of if these two men were gay.
- 24:03Speaker 2: It's insane.
- 24:06Speaker 5: It is a classic, and you see this time and
- 24:08Speaker 5: time and time again. It is as old as persephony
- 24:13Speaker 5: and the Greek chorus. It is as old as that is,
- 24:17Speaker 5: as old as we are. Imagine if these two men
- 24:20Speaker 5: were gay. It's just the call of the ancients.
- 24:23Speaker 1: And they love when you give me the okay to go.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Whoopsie are bad?
- 24:28Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, it's so fun when announced to a forty
- 24:31Speaker 1: thousand people stadium, Whoopsie are bad?
- 24:33Speaker 2: You can all hear it. Which is what's fun, but
- 24:35Speaker 2: they know it's being self whipped actually gay.
- 24:38Speaker 1: One of my favorite that you are a whiz at
- 24:40Speaker 1: finding is couple that aren't gonna kiss, but one of
- 24:43Speaker 1: them is going to chug a beer. That's is the best.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Way to end it is the best. I was actually
- 24:51Speaker 2: taking a drink of my beer. Chu chug, chug, chug,
- 24:54Speaker 2: chug chug. And the wife. It's usually the wife to
- 24:57Speaker 2: the husband because because the wife usually goes, oh my god.
- 25:00Speaker 5: Well, that is my favorite genre of kiss cam I
- 25:04Speaker 5: would say is husband who's gonna do a big embarrassing
- 25:08Speaker 5: smooch and wife who's gonna be sarcastically whatever.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Yeah, just kind of going ah yeah. I also love
- 25:16Speaker 3: when wife is on phone. It makes me giggle.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Is really fun.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Sometimes we'll do that mostly for the fourth quarter because
- 25:24Speaker 3: she's done, so yeah.
- 25:26Speaker 2: You know. Something I wanted to bring up was the huge,
- 25:29Speaker 2: huge backlash to kiss cams and the ethical implications. I
- 25:33Speaker 2: wanted to see what you guys wanted to say. Yeah, sure,
- 25:35Speaker 2: I know people are saying that kiss kims are a
- 25:38Speaker 2: moral they're unethical and what about all this?
- 25:40Speaker 1: I think, what about love is a moral? Well, it's
- 25:44Speaker 1: just what makes it more. What are people's issues with it?
- 25:48Speaker 1: I'm trying to understand dramaturgically.
- 25:50Speaker 5: If we look at the comments section of YouTube, it's
- 25:53Speaker 5: around the time of Me Too. People are criticizing the
- 25:57Speaker 5: kiss cam because they say the camera resents a sort
- 26:02Speaker 5: of implicit nudge towards a kiss, and the nuh the
- 26:07Speaker 5: nudge of the camera is what's the problem.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Well, that's when then we we responded to that.
- 26:13Speaker 6: Remember there was a time where we went, Okay, we
- 26:14Speaker 6: don't want to pressure anybody into kissing.
- 26:16Speaker 3: So then you guys had me go only kiss if
- 26:19Speaker 3: you want to, and that just took the air out
- 26:22Speaker 3: of the stadium.
- 26:23Speaker 2: They didn't want to.
- 26:24Speaker 5: That was the season of many disclaimers. I do remember
- 26:27Speaker 5: that we had to.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Change it from kiss camp too. We put the camera
- 26:30Speaker 1: on you and you get to choose what happens next exactly.
- 26:33Speaker 5: And that scarier for people.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I think people were starting to do some crazy thing.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Now we're back at it right because we were running
- 26:41Speaker 2: the kiss came at the cold Play concerts. Should we
- 26:43Speaker 2: talk about it?
- 26:44Speaker 1: Here we go?
- 26:44Speaker 2: I mean, I know it's old news.
- 26:48Speaker 1: This is very old news.
- 26:49Speaker 3: I do think that's why they got booked on this
- 26:51Speaker 3: podcast MS.
- 26:53Speaker 5: Knows is about six months old to.
- 26:55Speaker 1: You, probably eight.
- 26:56Speaker 5: I think it could be so long. Listen that cold
- 27:01Speaker 5: Play concert John buttrom It kind of brought us back.
- 27:04Speaker 5: It made us ten million dollars. We have monetized this
- 27:10Speaker 5: in such a way you would not believe.
- 27:12Speaker 2: I think.
- 27:12Speaker 6: I was watching a video of me walking down the
- 27:14Speaker 6: Jennifer Hudson Walk backstage.
- 27:17Speaker 3: And I went, I think because of that Copley concept.
- 27:20Speaker 2: I mean, can we talk about being on the Jennifer
- 27:21Speaker 2: Hudsond store.
- 27:22Speaker 1: She's so nice, she is so nice. I can't believe
- 27:25Speaker 1: we all shut up thinking that maybe it wasn't because
- 27:27Speaker 1: of the kiss camps. Well, I genuinely I didn't know
- 27:30Speaker 1: you guys were coming. I genuinely thought it was because
- 27:32Speaker 1: of my music.
- 27:33Speaker 5: I thought it was because of my poetry work.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Yes, your poetry. Yeah, I thought it was because of
- 27:37Speaker 2: my bumper sticker. It's so funny now that you say it.
- 27:41Speaker 6: I did think it was because of my friend friend
- 27:44Speaker 6: Andison Ray, my friend, my Besty.
- 27:48Speaker 3: We grew up together.
- 27:49Speaker 1: You were best read, she liked, she was adorable.
- 27:54Speaker 5: Why we were watching you won't forget it. Oh, it's
- 27:57Speaker 5: such a talent, such a generational talent.
- 28:00Speaker 6: Was get invited to big stuff, and I go, oh,
- 28:01Speaker 6: it's because I'm my friend, right, But then when I
- 28:03Speaker 6: thought about it, we were blowing up.
- 28:05Speaker 3: That happened and we were being knocked We would the
- 28:08Speaker 3: door was being knocked on. Every day. We couldn't play
- 28:10Speaker 3: Live Gloss Toss for how long?
- 28:12Speaker 2: No, probably six eight weeks.
- 28:14Speaker 5: We couldn't get yes playing.
- 28:16Speaker 1: I mean, they wanted us to create something like that
- 28:19Speaker 1: every single time.
- 28:20Speaker 5: Everybody wanted a cold play, kiss cams.
- 28:24Speaker 1: CEOs, cheating with their fos.
- 28:28Speaker 2: And that's just not what I do. I'm looking for
- 28:30Speaker 2: people that are in love, and so I don't want
- 28:32Speaker 2: to find adulterers.
- 28:34Speaker 3: And that's why I hired Chelsea.
- 28:36Speaker 6: Yeah, and she was supposed to You were supposed to
- 28:40Speaker 6: find a love, and she was supposed to find that.
- 28:42Speaker 1: So much she's always trying to find people that are
- 28:44Speaker 1: trying to duck.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Away Chelsea Scaparelli.
- 28:48Speaker 1: So Chelsea Scaparelli isn't here because we lied and told
- 28:51Speaker 1: her that we weren't doing this, and I got moved.
- 28:54Speaker 5: We're doing a mean girls thing with Chelsea Scaparelli where
- 28:57Speaker 5: we're telling her about parties that don't exist.
- 29:00Speaker 1: But if you guys were you'd get it, you'd get it.
- 29:03Speaker 5: We told Chelsea, have told almost like she's bullying us.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Yeah, we told Chelsea Scaparelli we were going to Johnny
- 29:10Speaker 2: Carino's restaurant.
- 29:12Speaker 6: And she's something so unsettling about a woman walking around
- 29:15Speaker 6: looking for people being me and each other.
- 29:17Speaker 3: I just don't think it's up the thing for sport.
- 29:19Speaker 2: No, he's not fitting in. And also, by the way,
- 29:21Speaker 2: she can't live gloss Toss for shit.
- 29:23Speaker 1: It's embarrassing how bad she is Atlas, and she keeps.
- 29:27Speaker 5: Asking about the points. She keeps going, so do.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I have twelve?
- 29:31Speaker 5: And we're like, Chelsea, keep up.
- 29:34Speaker 6: Once she was the Tanner and I went, you can't
- 29:36Speaker 6: be the tanner and and move the lip gloss twice.
- 29:39Speaker 3: You can only play as the werewolf or the toss.
- 29:42Speaker 1: She has no idea what's going on.
- 29:45Speaker 3: And then the banker was like, I think you were
- 29:47Speaker 3: playing bank.
- 29:47Speaker 5: Oh I was the banker, and we were like, you
- 29:50Speaker 5: have to pay the toll, and she would to pay
- 29:52Speaker 5: the toll. She keeps coming after me going like, so
- 29:54Speaker 5: what's the toll, and it's like, bitch, pay it.
- 29:58Speaker 1: I didn't tell you I'm banker.
- 30:00Speaker 2: She was absolutely silent during decision point time. It was crazy.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Oh do we try to counsel speak up?
- 30:07Speaker 1: Speak up? Literally, your team is relying on you to
- 30:10Speaker 1: speak up. Right now?
- 30:11Speaker 5: She tries to play a purple card and I'm like,
- 30:13Speaker 5: are we playing yachtzi?
- 30:15Speaker 1: What are you even before we playing yacht?
- 30:18Speaker 2: Where did that come from?
- 30:19Speaker 3: Speaking of bitches can.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Wow? Wow.
- 30:29Speaker 2: So we've been having so much fun to do in
- 30:33Speaker 2: this episode, but we want to take a quick pause
- 30:35Speaker 2: and tell you that we also have a Patreon where
- 30:37Speaker 2: we have a lot of fun too.
- 30:39Speaker 5: We have an after show that we do for every
- 30:41Speaker 5: episode where we break down the episode and we just
- 30:43Speaker 5: hang out. Sometimes. We watched full episodes of the TV
- 30:46Speaker 5: show Mobbed, which was a flash mob reality show competition.
- 30:50Speaker 5: We also was an ad for mob We also challenges.
- 30:53Speaker 2: We also write full scripts and do twelve weeks of
- 30:56Speaker 2: dance and play weddings. We just have a blast because
- 30:58Speaker 2: we're a bunch of friends and if you want to
- 31:00Speaker 2: hang out with people that also like this podcast, but
- 31:02Speaker 2: you feel like a freak because you can't find anyone
- 31:04Speaker 2: to relate to because nobody knows how to understand this
- 31:07Speaker 2: podcast about you.
- 31:08Speaker 5: Are you a freak?
- 31:09Speaker 1: A freak.
- 31:11Speaker 4: So many fun There are so many of you in
- 31:13Speaker 4: the comments that are going why hasn't this blown up yet?
- 31:15Speaker 4: I love this podcast. I just want to support it.
- 31:17Speaker 4: There is a way, and we all do it all
- 31:19Speaker 4: by ourselves, with our producers. It's a small baby, So
- 31:22Speaker 4: feed the baby.
- 31:23Speaker 5: Feed the baby baby, join the Patreon and.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Feed the baby. You freaks love you, Yes, can throw off.
- 31:33Speaker 3: I can't, and they'll cut this out. But I kind
- 31:36Speaker 3: of missed the bitchcam.
- 31:39Speaker 1: The cat.
- 31:40Speaker 2: We know that was importaste and we own it. I
- 31:42Speaker 2: actually really liked I think you pitched this albaster and
- 31:45Speaker 2: I thought it was wonderful indifference Cam.
- 31:47Speaker 5: I am all the case.
- 31:49Speaker 2: I know you did at all.
- 31:51Speaker 5: It is a deconstruction of the form itself. Time, love,
- 31:56Speaker 5: and energy all flipped into a prism that is collapsing
- 32:00Speaker 5: upon itself. We are entering the fourth dimension.
- 32:03Speaker 3: It's not offense, it's not defense, it's indifference. It could
- 32:09Speaker 3: have stuck, stuck, and only if.
- 32:14Speaker 5: People were ready, if society was ready to watch people
- 32:17Speaker 5: look at each other and go. Then we want to
- 32:20Speaker 5: be somewhere.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Why are you so scared of seeing someone who has
- 32:25Speaker 2: neither positive nor negative feelings happening at the moment.
- 32:28Speaker 1: That's a question for you to ask. We are challenging
- 32:31Speaker 1: the viewer of the camp.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Let's take of the genre flippant.
- 32:34Speaker 6: It's on a head, it's flimman, it's on a tad
- 32:36Speaker 6: because when it's doing, it's taking passion. And we're going,
- 32:38Speaker 6: let's look at the inverse because so much of what
- 32:40Speaker 6: we do is is it's feeling passion.
- 32:43Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, you know what, Cam, I loved that I
- 32:47Speaker 5: do wish we should bring back. And then this is
- 32:49Speaker 5: we should talk about other dream camps as well. Uh,
- 32:53Speaker 5: father son, It's it's difficult for them to look at
- 32:57Speaker 5: each other.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Camp Cats in the Cradle, Camms, we play Cats in
- 33:02Speaker 2: the Cradle and we jumped to father sons that feel complex,
- 33:06Speaker 2: but they're here at the game together.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Play Cats in the Cradle. It's time to see some
- 33:12Speaker 3: Baby's Wadle.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 33:14Speaker 1: So Baby's Wadle was a stretch for sure.
- 33:17Speaker 2: Well, here's what I'll tell you why that didn't work.
- 33:19Speaker 2: I think it had a lot of promise, almost too
- 33:21Speaker 2: much promise. I was coming back with four hundred, five hundred,
- 33:25Speaker 2: six hundred people that needed and because of what was
- 33:27Speaker 2: going on in my life, I said we needed to
- 33:29Speaker 2: show all of them. So it was this weird kind
- 33:32Speaker 2: of music video montage of like four hundred five hundred.
- 33:35Speaker 1: People all specifically at a baseball game. That's exactly where
- 33:39Speaker 1: we're gonna find those relationship.
- 33:40Speaker 6: I felt like we would just that was when we
- 33:42Speaker 6: were overworked, right, and we would, and it felt like
- 33:44Speaker 6: we were like, let's just.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Do something we see all the time, so then we
- 33:46Speaker 3: want to look for it. It'll just be everywhere. Yeah.
- 33:48Speaker 1: One of my favorites that didn't stick was the Mess
- 33:50Speaker 1: Up Yo Sneeze Camp, where we tried to capture people
- 33:54Speaker 1: right before they sneeze, throw them on the big screen
- 33:57Speaker 1: so they can't they get they get in their head,
- 33:59Speaker 1: they get conscious that they need a sneeze, and they
- 34:00Speaker 1: keep on.
- 34:03Speaker 5: And you had such a hard job scouting for that
- 34:05Speaker 5: because you had to look for people with chronic allergies
- 34:08Speaker 5: who were sneezing, who were likely to sneeze again.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Well, Pepper everywhere.
- 34:18Speaker 3: That The way you had to call when we were
- 34:21Speaker 3: rolling was so fast you'd be like, gow you missed it.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like riding away. It was like surfing.
- 34:26Speaker 2: That one felt like surfing.
- 34:27Speaker 1: I think my line before was U yeah, yeah.
- 34:30Speaker 2: I mean, look, there aren't all gems.
- 34:32Speaker 5: You know.
- 34:32Speaker 2: We had a drinking a drink cam. I mean that
- 34:36Speaker 2: was easy but boring. I mean drink to drink camp.
- 34:41Speaker 3: Drinking in the nineties. I loved them when we did
- 34:45Speaker 3: that person needs a hot talk kind of weird like that, Yeah.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Weird cam.
- 34:52Speaker 3: It was that kind of funny.
- 34:54Speaker 1: What about this friend groups hates one of their friends here?
- 34:57Speaker 1: That was fun, But it's in the wine pointed person,
- 35:02Speaker 1: the way they all knew how to point it one
- 35:04Speaker 1: the one person would always be pointing and then realize terrible.
- 35:08Speaker 5: You think, how could this happen? But I know if
- 35:10Speaker 5: Chelsea were here, we'd be pointing.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Literally.
- 35:15Speaker 2: What about I know a terrible secret camp?
- 35:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, zoom in on an old man's face.
- 35:20Speaker 2: The closest we could get to.
- 35:21Speaker 3: An old man generational trauma.
- 35:25Speaker 1: He's seen some war.
- 35:28Speaker 5: It's a terrible sacred I did.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Some things and saw something and now he's just trying
- 35:33Speaker 1: to watch baseball. God, these camps were I love it.
- 35:39Speaker 2: I love working with you all.
- 35:40Speaker 3: I really do too. I got a fun little exercise.
- 35:44Speaker 3: What's I brought a cinema roll?
- 35:46Speaker 1: Okay, okay, already I want this exercise.
- 35:53Speaker 3: What's it going to I'm not kissing. You're gonna tell
- 35:55Speaker 3: me how you film it?
- 35:56Speaker 1: Okay, a little bit of Okay, give the relationship too,
- 36:02Speaker 1: I'll give you.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Yeah here, okay, yeah.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Wait, hold the mic up so we can hear the kiss.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Come on, I don't want to miss it.
- 36:06Speaker 5: Okay, okay, okay.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Should I see myself in the camp first?
- 36:10Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah?
- 36:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, notice the camp? Okay, fifteen years married couple,
- 36:19Speaker 1: that's my vote.
- 36:20Speaker 5: Say you're married three years together their boyfriend girlfriend.
- 36:24Speaker 2: I'm saying second marriage for you, first marriage for him,
- 36:28Speaker 2: and first for the role. Yeah, and you have two
- 36:31Speaker 2: kids and he has no kids. But he's he's doing great.
- 36:34Speaker 2: But you're just happy to have me. He's a little
- 36:35Speaker 2: bit younger, but you never thought you'd be dating younger,
- 36:37Speaker 2: but now you are.
- 36:38Speaker 1: That just can't be it. That just can't How did
- 36:41Speaker 1: you nail it? How did you do that? How did
- 36:44Speaker 1: you do that?
- 36:45Speaker 2: I've seen this before.
- 36:46Speaker 3: You want another one?
- 36:47Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 36:50Speaker 3: Okay?
- 36:55Speaker 1: Oh god? So in this did you bite their face? Okay? Okay,
- 37:01Speaker 1: I don't think I want to go after that one
- 37:06Speaker 1: that was drunk couple? Third date?
- 37:09Speaker 2: I would say, yeah, that's I would say.
- 37:11Speaker 5: Drunk couple, third date. There, we're going to their place
- 37:15Speaker 5: after this. It's a fun time.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say, y'all are seniors in college. Yes,
- 37:20Speaker 2: are absolutely in love. You have been overserved at this
- 37:23Speaker 2: at this.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Uh, how did you know it was a college ky?
- 37:25Speaker 2: This is just not true.
- 37:27Speaker 1: How are you doing this?
- 37:28Speaker 2: Man?
- 37:28Speaker 3: Okay?
- 37:29Speaker 2: Last one?
- 37:29Speaker 1: Last week? Oh? Oh what, I'll fine.
- 37:49Speaker 2: He has the divorce paper she doesn't know yet, and
- 37:51Speaker 2: in the car, the papers in the car. The car,
- 37:55Speaker 2: she said, there is in the car, so this isn't
- 37:58Speaker 2: all go get him the car. In that moment when
- 38:03Speaker 2: she realized you wouldn't kiss her. That file that's sitting
- 38:06Speaker 2: in the back seat, those are the divorce she said,
- 38:08Speaker 2: I'll go get them.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Yeah. Time, I know.
- 38:13Speaker 5: It's a teil is oldest time.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Do you guys remember any kisses that have gone wrong?
- 38:21Speaker 1: I remember one. Yeah. So there was a situation where
- 38:28Speaker 1: two couples were sitting next to each other and we
- 38:32Speaker 1: accidentally put the kiss kim on the two people that
- 38:36Speaker 1: weren't in a couple together right in the middle, in
- 38:38Speaker 1: the middle, and as a joke, they went no, no, no, whatever,
- 38:43Speaker 1: and they kissed, and that's when their relationship started. You
- 38:47Speaker 1: could see for the rest of the baseball game, both
- 38:48Speaker 1: couples fighting, they ended up together, and the couples on
- 38:51Speaker 1: the side ended up together. And it was this whole
- 38:54Speaker 1: thing that happened throughout the baseball game.
- 38:56Speaker 5: And you know what, dramaturgically is so interesting about that. Well,
- 39:00Speaker 5: so this exact thing that couple you're referring to, it
- 39:04Speaker 5: happened to their great grandfather, no way, family, that exact
- 39:09Speaker 5: same family in the year nineteen twelve.
- 39:12Speaker 2: At New York Knickerbockers, New York Knickerbockers.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Can't you get into this again?
- 39:18Speaker 5: I was raised in the back room of a library.
- 39:23Speaker 5: I was to be kept a secret between three librarians,
- 39:27Speaker 5: raising raising me in secret like a library, a library.
- 39:36Speaker 5: I was not allowed to go to school, No no no.
- 39:39Speaker 2: And I was not allowed.
- 39:44Speaker 5: I was not allowed to date, No no no. And
- 39:48Speaker 5: so I stayed in the corner and I learned, and
- 39:52Speaker 5: I read, and the books became my mother's and the
- 39:56Speaker 5: and the the bookmarks became my lovers and every one,
- 40:01Speaker 5: Oh God, not that.
- 40:07Speaker 1: It would have to be that way. What other way
- 40:10Speaker 1: could you have meant it?
- 40:11Speaker 5: It's a smooch, A smooch alone, a smooch alone. Look,
- 40:15Speaker 5: that is a private part of my private life. But
- 40:18Speaker 5: I emerged from the library when a a construction worker said, hey,
- 40:25Speaker 5: is anybody in there?
- 40:27Speaker 3: Like the village paper?
- 40:28Speaker 1: What a why a construction worker was there?
- 40:30Speaker 2: But I'm just going to keep it around library.
- 40:38Speaker 1: The library would be like anybody in.
- 40:41Speaker 2: There, But some curious got wondering if anyone's in a building.
- 40:50Speaker 2: He does that every empty room walks by.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Before he started to jewel handlers.
- 40:56Speaker 5: And then I said, yes, I am in here, and
- 40:59Speaker 5: he said cool. I was just asking around, and then
- 41:03Speaker 5: he said I'm actually going to go eat lunch, and
- 41:11Speaker 5: I I said, can I come with you? This is
- 41:15Speaker 5: my eighteenth birthday, and I knew it's based on a
- 41:18Speaker 5: tally on the law on the wall.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Can I ask a question really quick? Did you have
- 41:21Speaker 1: a concept of what lunch was at this point?
- 41:24Speaker 5: At this point I thought it was simply something that
- 41:29Speaker 5: you do when you are hungry.
- 41:33Speaker 1: So good.
- 41:36Speaker 2: You have answer. He knew what lunch was three meals
- 41:56Speaker 2: a day, said eighteen years.
- 41:58Speaker 5: There are nuances to lunch. I simply only knew if
- 42:01Speaker 5: there's something you do. I did not know what time
- 42:06Speaker 5: of day to Kurt or with whom or for what?
- 42:10Speaker 5: So I got lunch with him and he sort of
- 42:12Speaker 5: showed me the world and I am. I left the
- 42:17Speaker 5: librarian's a note that said I have to find myself.
- 42:20Speaker 5: I have to find who I am. Are you familiar
- 42:23Speaker 5: with under the Sea, ariel.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Him?
- 42:30Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, I mean familiar with the song under the
- 42:33Speaker 2: Sea song to the.
- 42:37Speaker 5: I like to call her under the Sea, Yes, the mermaid.
- 42:43Speaker 5: She always wanted to be on land, and then eventually
- 42:46Speaker 5: she did. And I feel my aerial story was when
- 42:49Speaker 5: I was pulled out of the library to go have lunch.
- 42:53Speaker 1: So how did you end up? We get to kid
- 42:55Speaker 1: kim oh. I was not expecting that kind of I
- 42:59Speaker 1: read the book about it.
- 43:02Speaker 5: After I went back to the library to sort of
- 43:05Speaker 5: tie up some loose ends, get my toothbrush, stuff like that.
- 43:09Speaker 5: There was a book and it fell out of the
- 43:12Speaker 5: cabinet where I used to sleep, and it said kiss
- 43:15Speaker 5: Cams through the Years. And then there's another book on
- 43:18Speaker 5: Brict that explained to me what drama Turkey was. And
- 43:23Speaker 5: I connected the two and now I am the only
- 43:25Speaker 5: accredited professor of kiss cam drama Turkey Turkey.
- 43:35Speaker 1: I am a drama Turky.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Funny Cracks he's a funny I mean, he's.
- 43:44Speaker 1: I did of his life to be so funny.
- 43:48Speaker 5: I did did a humor is the way out. Look,
- 43:52Speaker 5: how I got here is just because I was wanting something.
- 43:56Speaker 1: You know. Well, yeah it makes sense the books too,
- 43:59Speaker 1: and the books as well, but.
- 44:00Speaker 5: We all want something and that is what kiss cams are,
- 44:04Speaker 5: and in its totality is you are wanting to kiss.
- 44:08Speaker 5: We are wanting to see the case.
- 44:11Speaker 2: You know. Yeah, I feel the same way, and I
- 44:13Speaker 2: love that you're on this team. I want to talk
- 44:15Speaker 2: about one of my Kisskim mistakes. Oh, I just to
- 44:22Speaker 2: say mine, because I'll never forget this and you can't
- 44:25Speaker 2: foresee this coming. But it was an unmitigated disaster because
- 44:30Speaker 2: I had unknowingly started the kiss cam the same time
- 44:36Speaker 2: the audience was starting the wave. When I say that
- 44:41Speaker 2: it caused twenty five to thirty injuries, I'm telling the
- 44:47Speaker 2: truth for.
- 44:49Speaker 1: Me because so much of the kiss cam was groins,
- 44:52Speaker 1: and it was like we wanted the groins to kiss.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Or if they were trying to get kissed. There was
- 44:56Speaker 2: one guy that was tall, one guy that was low,
- 44:58Speaker 2: and then they would bump heads and.
- 45:01Speaker 1: One at a time, one at a time that was
- 45:05Speaker 1: the other problem.
- 45:05Speaker 2: At the time.
- 45:06Speaker 1: The really helped.
- 45:07Speaker 2: You thought you were going to be able to control
- 45:08Speaker 2: it with your voice. So you're screaming of them. They're
- 45:11Speaker 2: doing the wave, we're catching groins and bumps. Could everyone
- 45:15Speaker 2: settle down? Yeah, so then they thought it was the time.
- 45:17Speaker 5: Also is an instruction for the wave. There's an instruction
- 45:22Speaker 5: for both one at a time.
- 45:24Speaker 2: It actually led it to the best wave I've ever seen.
- 45:27Speaker 2: United all of them in creating the wave.
- 45:29Speaker 3: But that's when we learned that communication with the DJ department.
- 45:33Speaker 3: It's fundamental.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.
- 45:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:36Speaker 2: It was bad for our views too because someone was
- 45:38Speaker 2: watching the jumbo tron and as everybody knows in baseball stadiums,
- 45:42Speaker 2: they've added uh an I count on every jumbo tron
- 45:46Speaker 2: so they know when you're looking. So we know in
- 45:48Speaker 2: our ratings are high er low.
- 45:50Speaker 5: God, then I have to be big twitch for that
- 45:53Speaker 5: big twitch.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Big Twitch, that big which is a guy who runs
- 45:58Speaker 1: the camp. He's well on big Twitch. He's really fun guy.
- 46:02Speaker 1: One of my biggest mistakes, I would say, was when
- 46:05Speaker 1: I actually turned the camera sideways and I put one
- 46:08Speaker 1: person on the first floor on one person on the
- 46:09Speaker 1: second floor on the same camera. To kiss and the
- 46:12Speaker 1: guy jumped.
- 46:13Speaker 5: It was that was I am surprised you brought this
- 46:19Speaker 5: up because it is but he's living well.
- 46:22Speaker 3: No, he is not living well.
- 46:26Speaker 5: Wells had to come out of retirement well.
- 46:32Speaker 2: But also that's just because he's just loving junk food.
- 46:35Speaker 2: I mean it's like he's doing fine, but he's not
- 46:37Speaker 2: living well and that he's just eating junk.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Reading his Facebook posts. I mean, just let it go, man.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Every other week it's just one fan, one man. But
- 46:51Speaker 2: we keep in touch with our fans, the people that
- 46:54Speaker 2: you remember from the kiss mistakes that you've had. Yeah,
- 46:57Speaker 2: oh yeah, talking.
- 46:59Speaker 6: About Sometimes if I'm not careful, I'll read anything in
- 47:03Speaker 6: front of me on the big mic with the big boys.
- 47:05Speaker 3: I gotta be careful because if you leave a book
- 47:07Speaker 3: in front of me, I'll read it. If you leave,
- 47:10Speaker 3: I don't know whatever.
- 47:13Speaker 5: Well it was there was the time that you read
- 47:15Speaker 5: uh my texts from my computer where I was talking
- 47:20Speaker 5: shit about Chelsea is Caparelli and you you read them
- 47:25Speaker 5: to the entire stadium. I just think she's got a
- 47:29Speaker 5: buttch in that looks so much like a butt, it's
- 47:32Speaker 5: not even a chin.
- 47:34Speaker 1: You were going in on her physical appearance.
- 47:36Speaker 5: I wish you know off her body, and that's something
- 47:40Speaker 5: I wish. I wish you just stayed in the text
- 47:44Speaker 5: A good look.
- 47:44Speaker 2: You cannot you cannot text.
- 47:47Speaker 3: I can't tell which way she's sending, if it's from
- 47:49Speaker 3: front or behind, because that buttchin up front.
- 47:52Speaker 5: But I wish I didn't send so many texts. But
- 47:55Speaker 5: you know what, I regret that my life, it would
- 47:58Speaker 5: be sending less texts about this woman.
- 48:00Speaker 1: You know what.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Try to get a dramatic to issue an apology, because
- 48:04Speaker 2: he can work his way out of anything I said.
- 48:06Speaker 2: He you shouldn't have said that. He started referencing Sophocles.
- 48:10Speaker 5: I will wriggle my way onto the.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Story context for what he said, for everything.
- 48:16Speaker 5: It is interesting. The first time sorry was uttered in
- 48:20Speaker 5: fifteen fifty two by one Christopher ice Cream.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Was sorry.
- 48:29Speaker 2: The first apology was, y'all don't know that. No, this
- 48:34Speaker 2: is well known.
- 48:36Speaker 1: You don't see you haven't seen this. You haven't read
- 48:38Speaker 1: this book they called the ice cream Apology.
- 48:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I it's an ice cream apology. I I don't
- 48:43Speaker 5: know which is pop culture and which is stuff, and
- 48:45Speaker 5: I only know about so sometimes you have to remember this.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Yes, because he went, he went up to his girlfriend
- 48:51Speaker 1: then at that time, and he invented this thing like
- 48:54Speaker 1: frozen frozen yogurt almost and he kind of looked at
- 48:57Speaker 1: her and went ice cream and counted. Kind of don't
- 49:04Speaker 1: zone out in this episode. If you zone out for
- 49:07Speaker 1: a second, you're dead. Sorry, Hold on a minute. You
- 49:13Speaker 1: know this.
- 49:13Speaker 2: I feel like I don't want to man explain to you.
- 49:15Speaker 2: But it's kind of common knowledge that in fifteen fifty two,
- 49:18Speaker 2: Christopher ice Cream invented the phrase I'm sorry by going
- 49:21Speaker 2: up to his girlfriend.
- 49:22Speaker 5: Basis of the phrase i'm sorry by saying I'm sorry.
- 49:25Speaker 8: In the intonation, well he's saying ice cream and he
- 49:32Speaker 8: said ice cream, and it was understood was sorry bishness.
- 49:36Speaker 8: You can test trace for centuries. It was the sheepishness
- 49:40Speaker 8: that was carried over. It's like in old English, where
- 49:43Speaker 8: things are where the five was one's fief.
- 49:46Speaker 1: You say something, yes, thank God for that construction worker
- 49:50Speaker 1: getting you out of that library. Where would we be
- 49:53Speaker 1: without you.
- 49:54Speaker 5: I'm so happy, I am so grateful. I am so
- 49:57Speaker 5: grateful to be here, and I am so grateful for Rich.
- 50:00Speaker 5: He was the construction work.
- 50:01Speaker 2: It's great, great name for it.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Rich.
- 50:03Speaker 5: He was so lovely and I don't know where he
- 50:07Speaker 5: is today. He changed his cell phone and now I
- 50:11Speaker 5: am unable to reach him.
- 50:13Speaker 3: But did she changed his cell phone?
- 50:15Speaker 5: He changed his cell phone.
- 50:18Speaker 3: Him.
- 50:19Speaker 5: Now this is not something I can read in the book. Yeah,
- 50:22Speaker 5: this is something I have to learn the hard way.
- 50:24Speaker 3: Learn the hard way, Cam, you men.
- 50:29Speaker 5: Rich dramaturgically, I will never say I'm sorry.
- 50:33Speaker 3: Learn the hardway. Cam does this Mike hand.
- 50:37Speaker 5: Reference is a picture of a woman saying I am sorry.
- 50:41Speaker 5: From nineteen thirty one. She bet all of her money
- 50:44Speaker 5: in the stock market and then it crashed and she
- 50:47Speaker 5: had nothing to feed her family. So she looked at
- 50:49Speaker 5: her family and she said, I am sorry. That is
- 50:52Speaker 5: something I'd like to reference when I say to you, Rich,
- 50:56Speaker 5: when I texted you too many times that you changed
- 50:58Speaker 5: your phone number.
- 51:02Speaker 1: And that later Wow, thank you. The learned the hard
- 51:05Speaker 1: way camerang learned the hardway camera turned out to be
- 51:07Speaker 1: more of a story that.
- 51:11Speaker 2: Plays well. Usually plays when really there's a real low
- 51:14Speaker 2: quiet moment when everyone maybe he's a changeover, or everyone's
- 51:18Speaker 2: kind of curious if a baseball player is hurt. We
- 51:20Speaker 2: learn the hardway.
- 51:22Speaker 5: Wait to buy a lot of time.
- 51:24Speaker 3: They started doing it with celebrities.
- 51:26Speaker 6: If a celebrity kind of had a bad pr image,
- 51:28Speaker 6: they would send him to a game.
- 51:29Speaker 3: And we had to learn the hard way.
- 51:30Speaker 2: And it was tough, you know this. We we had
- 51:33Speaker 2: to stop doing cams with microphones because those boomomps are
- 51:35Speaker 2: not so tired.
- 51:37Speaker 1: They have to be so high up because your entire
- 51:44Speaker 1: stadium and boom was always in the shot, was in
