- 0:02What is going on, everybody?
- 0:03Yesterday,
- 0:04Don Fall stepped down from CrossFit HQ.
- 0:07What does that mean now?
- 0:10Talking about it next.
- 0:22I love the chase and the hunt,
- 0:23and I set the pace when I'm running.
- 0:25I always take what I want,
- 0:26and I always give it one hundred.
- 0:28Don't need a bank, no I'm funded.
- 0:29Play the game like it's nothing.
- 0:31I'm always thankful for something.
- 0:32Don't take for granted, stay humble.
- 0:34Now wake up!
- 0:35It's time to look at the enemy.
- 0:38Look in the mirror if he is no
- 0:40friend to me.
- 0:41It's not working out,
- 0:42maybe it's the chemistry.
- 0:43It's time to break up so I can
- 0:45make a better me.
- 0:45Yee-haw-ba-dum!
- 0:51it's lunch time what is going on everybody
- 0:54welcome to lunch with the clydesdale if
- 0:57you guys could just see what happens
- 0:58behind the scenes i tell corey we're gonna
- 1:01go live i count us down and then
- 1:05stream yard says no you're not nope we're
- 1:14gonna make you pause for a second
- 1:17And then all of a sudden the wheel
- 1:18starts spinning and you're like, oh shit,
- 1:19we're going live.
- 1:20Oh no, we're actually doing this.
- 1:21Sorry.
- 1:24It's fantastic.
- 1:28Oh, the stupid stuff that happens.
- 1:29We're trying to launch this show.
- 1:31So what is going on?
- 1:34We've got the cowboy with us today.
- 1:38And he froze his cojones off yesterday.
- 1:42Trying to feel better after twenty six
- 1:44point one literally froze his whole face
- 1:48off trying to get ready for twenty six
- 1:52point two.
- 1:54But he is better for it.
- 1:56And he slept like a baby.
- 1:58I did.
- 1:59I absolutely did.
- 2:01If anybody's seen their PT regularly,
- 2:05like I used to see mine,
- 2:06I've been pretty healthy up until twenty
- 2:08six point one.
- 2:09Yeah.
- 2:10But went and saw Jeremy yesterday morning.
- 2:13Shout out to Cypress Physical Therapy.
- 2:16Several locations around Louisiana if you
- 2:18need them.
- 2:22Needled me.
- 2:23Did some cupping all up on my left
- 2:25leg just because my left knee, dude.
- 2:28Like, during the day, Monday...
- 2:31my my thighs felt less like i got
- 2:34hit by a baseball bat but as that
- 2:36went away my knee got tighter and tighter
- 2:39and tighter and then uh to the point
- 2:42where monday night like thursday or no
- 2:44thursday i couldn't get comfortable to
- 2:46fall to stay asleep
- 2:48Right.
- 2:49Um, so when I saw him yesterday morning,
- 2:52needles,
- 2:53the whole nine yards and the thing was
- 2:54like, let's go get in the cryo tank.
- 2:56And I was like,
- 2:56what do you mean by let's?
- 2:58So I feel like it's going to be
- 2:59me in there and you standing outside of
- 3:01it,
- 3:01laughing at me while I freeze to death.
- 3:02And he was like, yeah, pretty much.
- 3:03It's like, cool.
- 3:04All right.
- 3:06Um, negative,
- 3:07one hundred and sixty six degrees for
- 3:09three and a half minutes.
- 3:11I don't know if you notice or not,
- 3:12but that's cool.
- 3:15Cold enough to freeze your cojones off.
- 3:17To freeze your Winnebago,
- 3:19as Fozzie Bear used to say.
- 3:26My legs and my lower half felt normal
- 3:29when I got out.
- 3:30But everything up here, traps, upper back,
- 3:33that whole area,
- 3:35I was like this by the time I
- 3:37got out of it.
- 3:39Gloves, mittens, booties.
- 3:43the thing to cover your ears, a mask.
- 3:47I did say booties.
- 3:50The whole nine yards.
- 3:52And I got in,
- 3:54as I was getting in, Jeremy said,
- 3:56go to your happy place.
- 3:57And I was like, oh, thanks.
- 3:59Cause that's not terrifying at all.
- 4:04And then yeah, stood out, got in it,
- 4:07stood there for three and a half minutes,
- 4:09listening to Chris Stapleton on
- 4:11headphones.
- 4:13And was worried to death that my contacts
- 4:15were going to freeze to my eyeballs.
- 4:16They didn't.
- 4:18By the way, they did not.
- 4:19But I did keep my eyes closed like
- 4:21ninety percent of the time,
- 4:23which is just as well,
- 4:24because when I opened them,
- 4:24all I could see was my reflection in
- 4:26the glass because it was so freaking
- 4:28fogged over.
- 4:28All I could see was me anyway.
- 4:30But yeah.
- 4:33I don't know if it was a combination,
- 4:34if it was just that or a combination
- 4:37of that and my knee feeling better after
- 4:39the rest of the treatment.
- 4:40But I slept like an absolute rock last
- 4:44night and I woke up feeling,
- 4:45I don't want to say superhuman,
- 4:47but I woke up feeling pretty damn good
- 4:49this morning.
- 4:50And you know,
- 4:51if you want to sleep like a rock...
- 4:54you can order Thursday at thursday.com
- 4:56backslash Jazzy use Jazzy checkout to get
- 4:59twenty five percent off through the
- 5:01CrossFit open twenty five percent off
- 5:04right now.
- 5:05Well, Miss Weitzer did that yesterday.
- 5:06Oh, yeah.
- 5:08Yeah.
- 5:08She's jumping on the Thursday gang.
- 5:10I mean, she listens every day,
- 5:11doesn't she?
- 5:13If you're on, she does.
- 5:15She listens for you, not me.
- 5:16So, yeah.
- 5:19Yeah.
- 5:20She's the best.
- 5:22Speaking of the opposite of thirdsy,
- 5:25you have told me that Serial Killer C-IV
- 5:29is the best flavor ever.
- 5:30I can't understand the concept,
- 5:33but I have a can here.
- 5:34Hasn't even been opened.
- 5:35Never tried it.
- 5:36I'm going to try it right now.
- 5:39And I have eleven more of these, so...
- 5:43So if I don't like it,
- 5:45it's getting shipped to Corey at some
- 5:48point.
- 5:48I got Venmo.
- 5:49Just saying.
- 5:51But here we go.
- 5:55Live reaction, ladies and gentlemen.
- 5:57Here we go.
- 6:00Well, he didn't gag.
- 6:03Not at all what I expected.
- 6:05Right?
- 6:06Not at all.
- 6:08It tastes like fruity pebbles.
- 6:13It's like fruity pebbles.
- 6:16Yep.
- 6:17But not milk.
- 6:19It's weird because it's not dry Fruity
- 6:22Pebbles.
- 6:23It's wet Fruity Pebbles,
- 6:26but not milky wet.
- 6:28So it's weird.
- 6:29It's a weird mouthfeel,
- 6:30but the taste is there.
- 6:32It is.
- 6:33It tastes like Fruity Pebbles.
- 6:34Isn't that amazing?
- 6:36It does.
- 6:37Yeah.
- 6:38You're not getting it.
- 6:39It'll stay.
- 6:42counting as a win even though i even
- 6:44though i'm gonna end up i'm gonna need
- 6:45a new i think i got i got
- 6:48four or five left in my twelve pack
- 6:49i need to get some more i told
- 6:52you dude like we had this whole
- 6:53conversation you and i did a couple days
- 6:55ago or last week whenever that was and
- 6:57i was like i know how weird it
- 6:59sounds but holy smoked is good yeah i
- 7:04wouldn't put it in my like top three
- 7:07Yeah,
- 7:07but but it's definitely that's fair road
- 7:10trip and I would drink it I enjoy
- 7:13it,
- 7:13but it's it's not green apple Jolly
- 7:15Rancher, it's not, you know, in my,
- 7:18what I would consider my top three but
- 7:19it's good.
- 7:20I like the unique stuff,
- 7:23and the stuff that tastes exactly like
- 7:24what what it says it's supposed to.
- 7:27And that's why I like that because I
- 7:29didn't know what to expect.
- 7:31And I was lucky enough while we was
- 7:32at Fitness to the Coast,
- 7:34we ran across a convenience store that
- 7:36sold them individually.
- 7:37I didn't have to buy a whole twelve
- 7:38pack.
- 7:39And me and Dwayne were like, okay,
- 7:42let's see.
- 7:43Did the same thing you did.
- 7:44Cracked it open to the sip and was
- 7:45like, oh, this is actually pretty good.
- 7:50Yeah.
- 7:51You know what's not good?
- 7:53You sent me a reel the other day
- 7:56of you doing a box jump to Whitney
- 7:57Houston.
- 7:59It got me demonetized.
- 8:01No way.
- 8:03Yep.
- 8:03It got me demonetized.
- 8:04And so I don't care about the money
- 8:09piece of demonetization, right?
- 8:11Right.
- 8:11I could care less.
- 8:13It's maybe a dollar fifty I lose.
- 8:16Right.
- 8:16For the thing, right?
- 8:18But when you get demonetized,
- 8:19you don't get pushed anymore.
- 8:21Right.
- 8:23So the video just – and you get
- 8:25blocked in like fifty-some countries and
- 8:28whatever.
- 8:29Because YouTube can't make any money on it
- 8:32because the money goes to Arista Records.
- 8:34They're the ones that filed the claim.
- 8:38It doesn't get pushed because YouTube
- 8:40doesn't make any money on it.
- 8:43That's annoying.
- 8:44So it's like now that show we did
- 8:46on Monday is like the lowest show views
- 8:51we've had in weeks.
- 8:54And it just sucks.
- 8:55Thank you, dude.
- 8:57And there's this thing called fair use on
- 9:01the internet and YouTube where you're
- 9:03allowed to use a song as long as
- 9:06you're not replicating it in a way that
- 9:07makes it an alternative to streaming the
- 9:10actual song.
- 9:12Right.
- 9:12Basically,
- 9:13you're not doing a cover to make money
- 9:14off of it so the artist doesn't get
- 9:17the money.
- 9:17Right.
- 9:18Right.
- 9:20And I think Arista Records is doing okay.
- 9:23I don't know.
- 9:24I would say that, yeah.
- 9:26I don't think they're late on the light
- 9:28bill.
- 9:29But literally we played the silence to the
- 9:35drum beat to then Whitney singing a couple
- 9:38seconds later.
- 9:40Yeah, we played it like four times,
- 9:42but it was that same little,
- 9:44in no way are people going, ooh,
- 9:46now I don't have to go to Spotify
- 9:48or I don't have to go somewhere and
- 9:50listen to the full song.
- 9:52Thank God.
- 9:53I don't have to buy it from Apple
- 9:54Music now.
- 9:55I got this real.
- 9:58It is so dumb.
- 9:59It's ridiculous.
- 10:01And I've said it on this show before.
- 10:02I listen to a lot of music podcasts.
- 10:04Rick Beato,
- 10:05Professor of Rock are two of my favorites.
- 10:08They're getting hammered by this.
- 10:11getting hammered by this so bad that
- 10:13they've had to hire attorneys to fight
- 10:15these claims just so their channel can
- 10:18survive that's so stupid and those guys
- 10:22like they have five million subscribers
- 10:23right yeah i i got three thousand right
- 10:28did we get to three thousand yet no
- 10:31we're we're getting there but we're not
- 10:32there quite yet yeah so not even like
- 10:35quite like knocking on the door of three
- 10:37thousand
- 10:38these guys it's their living and the fact
- 10:40that these record companies are using ai
- 10:42bots to go find the snippet of their
- 10:45song and file a copyright claim so they
- 10:47can claim the fifty cents and the dollar
- 10:51fifty off of all of these plays is
- 10:55utterly ridiculous a hundred percent it's
- 10:59it's so so dumb and like the professor
- 11:02of rock he has people
- 11:05copying his entire show and putting it out
- 11:08on their own channel so that they get
- 11:11the monetization and he doesn't see a cent
- 11:14of it and that that is allowed to
- 11:16happen it's it is like the youtube world
- 11:21is crazy crazy crazy crazy that's back and
- 11:24ai is making it easier for these people
- 11:27to do this this wild stuff it's ass
- 11:31backwards
- 11:32I love those shows.
- 11:34I know Andrew Sten is a big professor
- 11:35of rock guy.
- 11:36David Letterman is a big professor of rock
- 11:38guy.
- 11:40He tells stories about how the song was
- 11:42created or about the artist and how they
- 11:44came up.
- 11:46It's just stuff I love.
- 11:48I'm a big fan of that kind of
- 11:50stuff.
- 11:51If people are screwing that dude out of
- 11:53his rightfully due work at that point,
- 11:56then that's messed up.
- 11:58To demonetize an entire show because we
- 12:00played a
- 12:03Yeah.
- 12:05Yep.
- 12:09Anyway, I digress.
- 12:11So yesterday we had some big news.
- 12:14Um, so I'm happy yesterday.
- 12:16So during the show yesterday, uh,
- 12:19news broke that the CEO of CrossFit Don
- 12:21fall, uh, stepped,
- 12:24stepped down from CrossFit.
- 12:27Um, effective Friday, right?
- 12:29Effective Friday, three days notice.
- 12:35Yeah, our short adventures.
- 12:36If it's a song I haven't heard in
- 12:37a while,
- 12:38I'm more likely to go stream it.
- 12:40Yes.
- 12:41Yes,
- 12:42that is what Beato and Professor of Rock
- 12:44say.
- 12:45We're honoring a song so that you go
- 12:48listen to it, that you go buy it,
- 12:51that maybe you go buy the vinyl because
- 12:54you haven't heard it in a while.
- 12:56But yeah, anyway,
- 12:57I could go all day on that.
- 13:00Oh, yeah.
- 13:02there were predictions that this was going
- 13:03to happen i don't think the timing was
- 13:07ideal you think and we say this all
- 13:12the time like crossfit gets momentum going
- 13:14in the right direction and something
- 13:17always happens yeah you get a head of
- 13:21steam and somebody goes well we can't have
- 13:22that we can't have that let's go ahead
- 13:25no no no this is going way too
- 13:27well
- 13:29The only way it could have been worse
- 13:30if he'd announced it at twenty six point
- 13:33two.
- 13:34Yeah,
- 13:36at least during it after registration
- 13:37closed for the open.
- 13:42And I watched I watched CrossFit Network
- 13:45yesterday talking about what this means
- 13:48going forward.
- 13:49One of the people I respect more than
- 13:51anything is is Matsuza and his thoughts
- 13:56and his thought process.
- 13:58But I wanted to ask,
- 14:02just pose this question.
- 14:10Does it matter who the CEO is?
- 14:17So for people who don't know,
- 14:22I have my MBA.
- 14:24I know that that has been attacked on
- 14:26other shows,
- 14:28that people with an MBA are not the
- 14:29right fit.
- 14:31But I would argue that it depends on
- 14:33where you got your MBA and the style
- 14:35of MBA that you got.
- 14:37Because I was in person.
- 14:40We didn't read books.
- 14:41We didn't have books tell us this is
- 14:43the way you do things.
- 14:45The way I got my MBA is you
- 14:48would go to a class on a certain
- 14:51subject and...
- 14:54And then you would have discussions with
- 14:55other people in your class about what you
- 14:58thought the right process would be.
- 15:01And we were all adults in my MBA
- 15:05who all had worked in the professional
- 15:06world,
- 15:07who all brought our own experiences.
- 15:09And we learned from each other.
- 15:11And we talked about case studies from
- 15:14companies around the world.
- 15:15And depending on the company and depending
- 15:18on the structure,
- 15:19a CEO matters more or less depending on
- 15:22that.
- 15:25Sure.
- 15:25Sure.
- 15:26I would say, and this is my,
- 15:27you know, two cents worth of opinion,
- 15:30as far as that's concerned, I could,
- 15:33I don't think I really care too much
- 15:35about the educational background of said
- 15:37person,
- 15:38so long as the educational background of
- 15:40that person includes our methodology,
- 15:45or our community.
- 15:47Can he coach a class?
- 15:48Does he know
- 15:50You know, basic mechanics of a squat,
- 15:53something along those lines.
- 15:54Do you know what Fran feels like?
- 15:56Do you know what,
- 15:57have you done Murph more than once because
- 15:59somebody else was just happened to be
- 16:01doing it.
- 16:01You're having to show up at somewhere.
- 16:03So, so I'm going to go beyond, I,
- 16:05I, we can come back to that.
- 16:06I want to talk about the structure.
- 16:08Okay.
- 16:09When, when Berkshire bought CrossFit,
- 16:14it is,
- 16:14it is now run by a board.
- 16:16Correct.
- 16:17It is not run by a CEO.
- 16:20When Greg ran it,
- 16:21it was a one-person entity.
- 16:25And when he hired a CEO,
- 16:27the CEO still had to report to Greg
- 16:30Glassman.
- 16:32Now you have a board of directors that
- 16:35the CEO has to report to.
- 16:38And the CEO only gets one vote on
- 16:42that board.
- 16:44And most boards are designed where the CEO
- 16:47is only the tiebreaker.
- 16:51Right.
- 16:53So in those formats,
- 16:55the CEO comes up with ideas comes up
- 16:58with plans that have to be then presented
- 17:01to the board and be approved.
- 17:06So at the end of the day,
- 17:08the CEO does not have the power to
- 17:12change the way we're doing CrossFit.
- 17:15He can only present to the board what
- 17:17he thinks is or she thinks is the
- 17:19right thing to do.
- 17:21And the board still has to approve it.
- 17:27So I think like.
- 17:28We're so used to Greg running the show
- 17:31as the sole owner of the company,
- 17:35and he had complete autonomy to do
- 17:37whatever he wanted to do.
- 17:41The minute we go to a structure with
- 17:42a board, all of a sudden,
- 17:46you are beholden to whatever that board
- 17:49decides.
- 17:50And the CEO is just the face who
- 17:53then has to come back and say,
- 17:55this is what we're doing.
- 17:56And it may not even be their idea.
- 18:03On top of that, how many...
- 18:06What are the odds that the people on
- 18:07that board are all invested,
- 18:10truly invested in what's actually going on
- 18:12day to day in CrossFit and are probably
- 18:15more invested in what their returns are on
- 18:18their investment?
- 18:19Does that make sense?
- 18:21Like it's a board.
- 18:26What do they know about how affiliates are
- 18:28doing?
- 18:29They only know what people tell them,
- 18:31if that, and do they give a shit?
- 18:34That's the real question.
- 18:37do they even care?
- 18:38Do they even know aside from, Hey,
- 18:40these are what the numbers look like last
- 18:41month.
- 18:42These are what the numbers are going to
- 18:43look like next month, next year,
- 18:45five years, whatever the case is.
- 18:47We don't.
- 18:49they are nameless faceless people on this
- 18:51board right that's what i'm getting no
- 18:52idea who they are there was a rumor
- 18:54that they went to mayhem and they talked
- 18:57to rich and they did a tour and
- 18:59they walked around if the if the board
- 19:02actually did stuff like that and we knew
- 19:05it and that's what the and they actually
- 19:08had made informed decisions then a board
- 19:10is okay
- 19:13But I don't know,
- 19:15did they go to any other affiliate or
- 19:18did they just go to Mayhem?
- 19:19Yeah,
- 19:20because Mayhem is a really specific sample
- 19:24size.
- 19:25Right.
- 19:26And not in ninety eight percent of
- 19:28affiliates are not Mayhem.
- 19:30My affiliate could fit inside of Mayhem.
- 19:33Three times.
- 19:34We have plenty of room left to spare.
- 19:40Do they go to the thousand square foot
- 19:44garage, for all intents and purposes,
- 19:47that has seventy members and is barely
- 19:48surviving?
- 19:50That's where they need to go.
- 19:53So Mike says, we need a Greg-like CEO.
- 19:56My argument is,
- 19:58it just doesn't matter if the board
- 20:01doesn't allow them the autonomy to be like
- 20:05Greg.
- 20:07I think that's what Mike's getting at,
- 20:08is that we need...
- 20:11private equity was a terrible decision.
- 20:16But when someone purchases a company,
- 20:19it's not us, the consumer,
- 20:21who gets to decide what that makeup is
- 20:24going forward, right?
- 20:25You're not wrong.
- 20:26They came in with the money and they
- 20:28bought the thing.
- 20:31And then we're just left with
- 20:35With whatever they decide,
- 20:38however they think they can make money.
- 20:42And I've argued for the last five years
- 20:44that when that happened,
- 20:47there is no more North Star other than
- 20:51a bottom line.
- 20:52And that's all that they have told us.
- 20:56They want to make money.
- 20:58They want to resell the company and make
- 21:00more money.
- 21:02And
- 21:04If that is your North Star,
- 21:08you're not the right people to run this
- 21:10company.
- 21:12Greg made his money by doing the exact
- 21:15opposite of that.
- 21:17By putting out his product and people
- 21:21coming to him once they saw how good
- 21:23it was.
- 21:24If you do something well enough,
- 21:25people are going to pay you to do
- 21:26it over and over and over again.
- 21:30It's not the other way around.
- 21:33Yon says Dan Chaffee.
- 21:36So I'm watching all these shows,
- 21:37and everybody's throwing out names of
- 21:39people they think would be awesome.
- 21:41And I think Daniel Chaffee would be
- 21:43awesome if he was allowed to be Daniel
- 21:45Chaffee.
- 21:46Correct.
- 21:48The name does not matter if the board
- 21:51does not allow them to be who they
- 21:53are.
- 21:53Yeah, because at this point,
- 21:57I could be CEO if I have to
- 21:59do what these people tell me to do.
- 22:02Now,
- 22:02the only difference the name makes is how
- 22:05convincing they are to the board,
- 22:07how well they put together a strategic
- 22:09plan to show the board how it works
- 22:12for them.
- 22:14But at the end of the day,
- 22:16it still comes down to the board to
- 22:17listen.
- 22:20And if the board doesn't listen,
- 22:23it doesn't matter if it's Matt Sousa in
- 22:24the chair, Greg Glassman in the chair,
- 22:27or Daniel Chaffee in the chair.
- 22:33Because they are one vote.
- 22:37And if the twelve people on the board
- 22:40or the eight people on the board think
- 22:42another way, and it goes eight to one,
- 22:45CEO's got to do what the board says.
- 22:48And the worst part about that is,
- 22:50is that whoever is in that CEO position,
- 22:52when...
- 22:55we the people for better for better or
- 22:57for worse find out about that then that
- 22:58poor guy gets crucified for not doing
- 23:00anything or not being able to do anything
- 23:02when in reality his hands are actually
- 23:04tied from the get-go
- 23:10I heard both Matt and Peter and Siobhan
- 23:15yesterday say, when you meet Don Fall,
- 23:18he's a very likable person.
- 23:20I'm sure.
- 23:22And he is.
- 23:24My first meeting with him was
- 23:25Guadalupalooza, right after he became CEO.
- 23:30I saw him in Pasadena later that year.
- 23:34And he remembered me and came up and
- 23:35shook my hand.
- 23:36Like,
- 23:37it takes a special person to remember
- 23:39names.
- 23:41Absolutely.
- 23:41Of all the people they run into.
- 23:44The problem is, his hands were tied.
- 23:50He wasn't going to get to do any
- 23:52of what he wanted to do.
- 23:53And if the board said,
- 23:55thirty million CrossFitters,
- 23:58that's what he had to come out and
- 23:59say.
- 24:00Or he wasn't going to be CEO anymore.
- 24:05Which is an absurd thing to say,
- 24:06but you're right.
- 24:09Like, and if you have to say that,
- 24:10you're saying that knowing that it's an
- 24:11absurd thing to say, oh, well,
- 24:13we want to put thirty million CrossFit.
- 24:14Well,
- 24:14thirty million people doing CrossFit.
- 24:16Yeah.
- 24:18i don't know whose plan it was it
- 24:19may have been his plan i don't know
- 24:21right will you ever cross with a private
- 24:24company so we can never ever see their
- 24:27books correct unless unless they sell
- 24:30stock and they have to publicly show you
- 24:33the books we don't ever get we're not
- 24:36privy to that information and i'm sure don
- 24:39signs some sort of nda
- 24:42So that we might never know if he
- 24:44can come back and go, hey,
- 24:46by the way, I didn't want that.
- 24:48I didn't say that.
- 24:49I didn't want to say that.
- 24:51That was not me.
- 24:52That was Janice over here on the board
- 24:56thinking that that was a great idea.
- 24:57What if we get thirty million people to
- 24:58do CrossFit?
- 25:00Ideally, yeah,
- 25:01that would be amazing if thirty million
- 25:03people did CrossFit.
- 25:04Probably not going to happen.
- 25:06Mike says,
- 25:07let's get Dana White just to buy it
- 25:08and then hand the keys back to Greg.
- 25:10And he can just let Greg do what
- 25:11he does and make a lot of money
- 25:13in the background.
- 25:14Greg doesn't want it.
- 25:15Right.
- 25:18And Greg's not about making money.
- 25:20No, he's got plenty.
- 25:22And we romanticize the past because
- 25:26nostalgically we look at it and say it
- 25:28was awesome.
- 25:29But it was Greg who got rid of
- 25:31the media department.
- 25:32It was Greg who shut down all the
- 25:34social media channels.
- 25:37Greg did all that.
- 25:39Yeah.
- 25:39And so that was a,
- 25:41that was the beginning of the downward
- 25:43trend, not the sale.
- 25:47We lost our,
- 25:48we look Greg up until two thousand
- 25:51eighteen said CrossFit was a media
- 25:53company.
- 25:55And in two thousand eighteen,
- 25:56we lost our way when he axed the
- 26:00thing that he said we were.
- 26:03That's when it started the downward trend.
- 26:08The sale was just the nail in the
- 26:09coffin.
- 26:10Big time.
- 26:15So if you look at just that incident,
- 26:20if I'm Dana White,
- 26:24can you trust Greg to do what's best
- 26:27for the company at all times?
- 26:29Or is he going to get upset at
- 26:32some posts on Facebook and shut down every
- 26:36social media channel?
- 26:40Yeah, no, Greg's not the answer.
- 26:42Much as everybody wants him to be.
- 26:44I think he's a great mentor.
- 26:46I think he's a great scientist,
- 26:48scientific mind.
- 26:49Absolutely.
- 26:51But it's not as simple as just putting
- 26:57a new name in that seat.
- 27:02People want it to be simple.
- 27:04Simple, not easy, right?
- 27:06Simple, not easy.
- 27:07It's never that simple.
- 27:09This is not,
- 27:11nor is it going to be easy.
- 27:14Right.
- 27:15And God bless them.
- 27:16Whoever the next person is,
- 27:18is going to get scrutinized like they're
- 27:21underneath the microscope again.
- 27:23And it doesn't matter.
- 27:24It could be Dave.
- 27:25They could announce Dave as CEO in the
- 27:27next fifteen minutes and people are going
- 27:30to be up in arms about it.
- 27:31And well,
- 27:34and be all up in their feelings and
- 27:36whatnot, it really doesn't matter.
- 27:37Whoever is going to end up being it
- 27:39is going to get it from outer left.
- 27:41It could be Matt Souza,
- 27:45who people are screaming at the top of
- 27:47their lungs should be in charge of this
- 27:49entire thing.
- 27:51But again, even if it was,
- 27:54who I would be extremely pleased with,
- 27:56because he has a very good way,
- 27:57he's very eloquent,
- 27:58he has a very good way of getting
- 27:59his points across,
- 28:00seeming to be able to make things happen.
- 28:03but if you're answering to a board who,
- 28:07by the way,
- 28:08probably have no idea what CrossFit
- 28:10actually is,
- 28:13who are probably faceless people.
- 28:14We don't even know who they are.
- 28:17They have CrossFit background.
- 28:18We, we have no idea.
- 28:22The odds of the,
- 28:22the odds of them knowing what it is,
- 28:26having done it before,
- 28:28even having an inkling of anything beyond
- 28:30ESPN and the CrossFit games is
- 28:33Slim to none, I would say.
- 28:37And I see the chat throwing tons of
- 28:39names out there.
- 28:41I argue it does not matter.
- 28:43As long as Berkshire is at the helm,
- 28:46the board runs the company.
- 28:48The CEO is the figurehead that goes out
- 28:51and has to say what's going on.
- 28:55The only power the CEO has is the
- 28:59power of persuasion.
- 29:02And that is presenting a plan to the
- 29:04board and persuading them to go in that
- 29:07direction.
- 29:09But at the end of the day,
- 29:10the ultimate decision is the board.
- 29:14Big town.
- 29:18So we can throw every name you want
- 29:21under the sun into this basket and it
- 29:24doesn't freaking matter.
- 29:26Not at all.
- 29:27It doesn't matter unless the board says,
- 29:30we've sucked at this for six years,
- 29:33so we are giving you full autonomy,
- 29:36or the person coming in can convince the
- 29:38board to do what needs to be done.
- 29:41To convince them that they have sucked for
- 29:42four years and I need total autonomy.
- 29:45Right.
- 29:48That's it.
- 29:49That's it.
- 29:49That's the honest truth at that point.
- 29:52Why aren't you making any money?
- 29:53Well, here's why you're not.
- 29:55Here's why you have it.
- 29:58You have to be able to go in
- 29:59there and have enough brass in between
- 30:02your legs to walk in there and throw
- 30:04that kind of stuff down.
- 30:05Come with numbers, come with facts,
- 30:07come with figures,
- 30:08come with whatever you need to and just
- 30:10tell them, hey, look, this is why.
- 30:14And they're either going to listen to you
- 30:15or they're going to throw you out.
- 30:17One of the two,
- 30:18it's been my experience that that's,
- 30:21there's not a whole lot of middle ground
- 30:22in there, right?
- 30:24You're going to go in there with people
- 30:26who are higher up than you.
- 30:29They're either going to respect you for
- 30:30telling them the truth,
- 30:31or they're not going to want to hear
- 30:32it and throw you clean out of the
- 30:34room.
- 30:40Uh, Frida says no CEO, a new owner,
- 30:42not owners instead.
- 30:46The owner has to have the right vision
- 30:47too.
- 30:48It just can't be new.
- 30:50It's got to be new and right.
- 30:52Yeah.
- 30:57If I were CEO for a day,
- 31:00if I were CEO for a day,
- 31:05I would bite the bullet and go grab
- 31:09up
- 31:10So how did Greg come up with CrossFit?
- 31:13He took the best of every movement,
- 31:15put it together, and made CrossFit.
- 31:20If I am the new CEO of CrossFit,
- 31:24I go out and I say, hey, Metfix,
- 31:27we want the best of what you got.
- 31:29Let's take it.
- 31:31Hey, WFP,
- 31:33we want the best of what you got.
- 31:36Let's take it.
- 31:36Let's move forward.
- 31:40Instead of dealing with all these
- 31:41disruptors in the space, gobble them up.
- 31:48Work together.
- 31:53And figure it out so that the company
- 31:56makes sense.
- 31:57Right now,
- 31:58you have pillars combined together that
- 32:00are meshing in a way that is really
- 32:04hard to differentiate who is who.
- 32:09And what job is this person doing?
- 32:13There are no clear jobs at CrossFit.
- 32:22That's where I would start.
- 32:25There are worse places to start,
- 32:27I would think.
- 32:29But again, I can have this great idea,
- 32:31but if I can't convince the board of
- 32:32it, none of it matters.
- 32:35Yeah, I mean...
- 32:37To convince a board you got to spend
- 32:38money to make money is a really tall
- 32:41hill to climb.
- 32:44I would think business people at that
- 32:46level,
- 32:46they should anyway know that like
- 32:49nothing's free.
- 32:51Nothing's free.
- 32:55is what we're going to have to do
- 32:56you're not going to like it but long
- 32:57term it is going to pay off why
- 33:00because you bought this this this thing
- 33:03from somebody for what you thought it was
- 33:05worth then they built it to what you
- 33:07thought it was worth so if we do
- 33:08these things here we can get it back
- 33:11up there and then even go beyond but
- 33:13you have to be willing to look to
- 33:15spend the money initially
- 33:19Larry says, hopefully Xenon takes off.
- 33:20Everyone recycling the same names,
- 33:22same shit.
- 33:23Living glory days,
- 33:24wondering why it's not attracting new
- 33:26young people.
- 33:28That's only one part of CrossFit.
- 33:31If you're the CEO,
- 33:32you have to focus on all of it.
- 33:34And that's what I'm saying.
- 33:35It's this blob of stuff right now because
- 33:39nobody has a clear direction for what they
- 33:46do.
- 33:47You have a sport piece.
- 33:49You have a training piece.
- 33:50You have an affiliate piece.
- 33:52You have all these things going in some
- 33:55kind of direction maybe,
- 33:57and maybe not all of those are a
- 33:58good thing.
- 34:02There is no clear-cut direction for any of
- 34:06them because they're all kind of blobbed
- 34:08together.
- 34:11Sad but true.
- 34:21Um, yeah.
- 34:27So anyway, that's,
- 34:28that's the dawn of all stuff.
- 34:30That's what I wanted to get off my
- 34:32chest.
- 34:33This is the, I wanted to bring that.
- 34:34So Larry Young saying companies looking to
- 34:36buy a CrossFit,
- 34:37seeing the same names and workouts had to
- 34:39say, is there nothing else?
- 34:41Um, that's what they bought.
- 34:46But he's perspective buyers in the future.
- 34:49Yeah.
- 34:49Don't see anything new.
- 34:52There's not a whole lot of new to
- 34:53beat.
- 34:53There's only so many ways you can do
- 34:54thrusters and pull-ups.
- 34:58Yeah.
- 35:01I could argue that,
- 35:01but we don't have enough time in a
- 35:03lunch show at this point anyway.
- 35:10There are people out there doing new and
- 35:12creative things.
- 35:13Oh, I'll bet.
- 35:14One hundred percent.
- 35:14Absolutely.
- 35:15Most of it's in the competition space.
- 35:18But the base of it all is the
- 35:21affiliates and getting people in the door
- 35:24to work out, right?
- 35:27To have fun and make it their best
- 35:29hour of their day.
- 35:31Like when was the last time other than
- 35:33the podcast itself,
- 35:34you heard the term like the best hour
- 35:36of your day?
- 35:38Nobody even talks about that anymore.
- 35:41It's about going and hanging out with your
- 35:43friends and getting a little fit.
- 35:48And because of your friends and who you
- 35:50hang out with, you start eating better,
- 35:52you start having better nutrition,
- 35:54and all of a sudden you start living
- 35:55life a little bit more.
- 35:58The best snowball effect I've ever
- 36:00experienced in my entire life.
- 36:02I mean,
- 36:03I went from stuck on the couch at
- 36:05five hundred and whatever pounds to going
- 36:07to a CrossFit gym,
- 36:09being on a softball team,
- 36:11being on a flag football team,
- 36:13doing all this stuff that I never imagined
- 36:15I'd do late into my forties.
- 36:17I just got a picture of you running
- 36:20a ball back with flags hanging off your
- 36:25waist.
- 36:25I was the center, dude.
- 36:28Okay.
- 36:32More like blocking,
- 36:33but I was an eligible receiver.
- 36:34I did have a couple catches.
- 36:36But yeah, David is correct right there.
- 36:39You are CrossFit.
- 36:42Just from what you just said right there,
- 36:44right?
- 36:45Off the carbs, off the couch,
- 36:47in the gym,
- 36:49lost a ridiculous amount of weight.
- 36:52All of a sudden,
- 36:52I'm doing things that I never thought I'd
- 36:54be doing.
- 36:56At a stage in my life that I
- 36:57didn't think it was possible.
- 36:58Correct.
- 37:00That a lot of people still don't.
- 37:03scott i'm gonna be next month and on
- 37:05april the and i know people that i
- 37:08graduated high school with which does not
- 37:11seem like it was years ago right who
- 37:15look twice my age who act twice my
- 37:19age oh man i mean you know how
- 37:22old we are uh-huh i know how old
- 37:25you you probably feel and i know why
- 37:30But like,
- 37:30that's not a conversation everybody's
- 37:31willing to have.
- 37:32It's how do we get more of those
- 37:33people to, hey, bro,
- 37:34you don't have to accept that.
- 37:37It's not something that you have to accept
- 37:39and just go, well, I'm almost fifty.
- 37:42I guess this is what comes with it
- 37:44because it's not.
- 37:46It's not.
- 37:48Larry Young says, I wanted to grow too.
- 37:50I'm just pointing out it's always the same
- 37:51answers.
- 37:52That's what I'm trying to do today.
- 37:54I'm trying not to give you the same
- 37:56answer.
- 37:56I'm trying to give you an understanding
- 37:58of the structure of the way CrossFit is
- 38:00built today.
- 38:02Not how it was built in two thousand
- 38:04two,
- 38:06but how it's built today and the limits
- 38:08that the CEO has on them.
- 38:13So no matter what name you plop into
- 38:16that position,
- 38:17they don't have the power that we think
- 38:19they do.
- 38:23I'm trying to give a different perspective
- 38:25on this whole thing.
- 38:27than some of the other shows.
- 38:30And this is not a brag.
- 38:33I have an MBA.
- 38:34I've studied business.
- 38:36I've done case studies.
- 38:37I've done a thesis on how to make
- 38:39a company better.
- 38:41I've done a lot of things like this.
- 38:46It's not as easy or simple as the
- 38:49absolutes that we throw out there
- 38:51sometimes.
- 38:56Corey, you don't look a year over forty.
- 38:59Alito, if you ask my wife,
- 39:00she'd probably tell you I don't act a
- 39:01year over seventeen, so it's fine.
- 39:06David says,
- 39:07we're planning our thirtieth reunion now,
- 39:08and I can't wait to show up to
- 39:10that.
- 39:11David, so mine is coming up.
- 39:14Or mine was, I'm sorry,
- 39:15mine was last year.
- 39:16I did not go,
- 39:17but I told my wife, I really, really,
- 39:20really,
- 39:21really wanted to go just to walk in
- 39:24there looking like I look.
- 39:26and show off like if i could help
- 39:30it yeah if i could have walked in
- 39:31there shirtless you goddamn right i would
- 39:33have a hundred percent they've been
- 39:36walking shirtless they've been walking
- 39:38shirtless they was massive that's a big
- 39:40dude and he absolutely should yeah no i'd
- 39:44i'd one hundred percent just because and
- 39:46just to look at everybody else they might
- 39:48what hey how's it going
- 39:54Vicky says,
- 39:54I never thought I'd be able to climb
- 39:55a rope or do a pull-up,
- 39:57let alone handstand push-ups.
- 39:58I'm almost fifty-two,
- 39:59and now I can do those things because
- 40:02of CrossFit.
- 40:04Bam.
- 40:07Never said.
- 40:07Vicky does not look like she's fifty-two,
- 40:09by the way.
- 40:15I gave Vicky thirty-five at best.
- 40:20Mike DeVito,
- 40:21we need one new CEO or owner to
- 40:23come in and be the disruptor of fitness
- 40:24industry and push to be the North Star
- 40:27of fitness and not care who doubts it
- 40:30or pushes back.
- 40:31That's how it was built before.
- 40:38It's a tall order.
- 40:40It's easy to say all of that stuff.
- 40:43It's another thing to do that stuff.
- 40:48You only feel AD, Vicky,
- 40:49because you just did twenty six point one.
- 40:52Correct.
- 40:54Correct.
- 40:55We all feel AD after twenty six point
- 40:57one.
- 40:57We all got our legs beaten by the
- 40:59wooden baseball bats by the mob last week
- 41:02sometime.
- 41:02It's fine.
- 41:03Some people did it twice.
- 41:04God bless them.
- 41:07Larry Young, next time I see you,
- 41:09I'm slapping you around, bud.
- 41:11You can do so many things at your
- 41:13age that ninety nine point nine percent of
- 41:16the population cannot do.
- 41:18I've seen you do muscle ups.
- 41:21I've seen you lift enormous amounts of
- 41:23weight.
- 41:24I have seen you do toes to bar.
- 41:26I've seen you do tons of stuff.
- 41:29do you like sometimes that we're so
- 41:31surrounded by this fitness world that we
- 41:33forget do you remember the first time you
- 41:37went to a gym and they said there
- 41:38was a t and a two and a
- 41:40b on the board and you're like what
- 41:43the hell is that and you look it
- 41:44up on youtube and you're like that isn't
- 41:47even physically possible make it this
- 41:48straight you want to dangle from this bar
- 41:53And I'm going to lift my legs up
- 41:54and touch the bar with my toes.
- 41:59Sounds suspect.
- 42:02We've just been around it for ten years,
- 42:03so now you're like, oh,
- 42:04it's just a total bar.
- 42:06No, it's not.
- 42:07Remember the first time you saw that and
- 42:09went, holy shit,
- 42:11what are these people doing?
- 42:13Most of us live,
- 42:14and I preach this to everybody that,
- 42:16if you've been in my class,
- 42:18you've probably heard me say this before,
- 42:20and I preach this all the time.
- 42:21We live in our own little bubble,
- 42:22especially as CrossFitters.
- 42:23We live in our own little bubble where
- 42:24we're not really aware or pay that much
- 42:26attention to what's going on around us.
- 42:28But just being able to drop into a
- 42:30squat, that's it.
- 42:34Just drop into the bottom of a squat
- 42:35and just sit there and hold it.
- 42:38You are doing better than ninety five
- 42:40percent of the population,
- 42:41if not ninety nine.
- 42:44it's it's ridiculous dude it's absolutely
- 42:47ridiculous look up peter benoit has a
- 42:52prediction for twenty six point two two
- 42:55two two three fifty double unders ten toes
- 43:00to rings max ring you you're saying the
- 43:02time is two minutes on one minute off
- 43:08think i don't think that i think that
- 43:11you may be right with the movements i
- 43:13think your time stuff is probably not
- 43:18going to be done in an affiliate peter
- 43:21i like where your head's at a leader
- 43:27says we had a girl come in yesterday
- 43:28who had never done a deadlift before i
- 43:30can't imagine what she might have thought
- 43:32of us
- 43:34I think that's the point.
- 43:37Sometimes you just have to take a step
- 43:39back and remember the first day you walked
- 43:41in.
- 43:43How many of us,
- 43:43when we first walked into a gym, went,
- 43:46some of this stuff isn't even possible.
- 43:48You want me to do three hundred air
- 43:50squats in less than an hour?
- 43:55And we do a three hundred of anything
- 43:57in under an hour,
- 43:59let alone an air squat.
- 44:00Oh,
- 44:00and we're going to run a mile on
- 44:01either side of it.
- 44:02Yeah.
- 44:03And then you want me to do how
- 44:04many pull ups?
- 44:12Oh, it's good stuff.
- 44:14When you surround yourself with all of
- 44:16this fitness,
- 44:17you lose perspective in what the real
- 44:19world is.
- 44:22It's not hard to get it back, though.
- 44:24Go to Wal-Mart.
- 44:26You ain't even got to buy nothing.
- 44:27Just go walk around for a little bit.
- 44:28It's really all you need to do.
- 44:34Yeah, Lito says,
- 44:34when our members are beating themselves up
- 44:36about their fitness, I just tell them,
- 44:38walk into any supermarket and take a look
- 44:40around them.
- 44:42That's all you got to do.
- 44:43Yes, Vicky.
- 44:44That is what you said when you walked
- 44:46into these gyms.
- 44:47You want me to do what?
- 44:49Yeah.
- 44:50I'm sorry.
- 44:51I'm going to need you to.
- 44:52No, there's no way.
- 44:57Yeah.
- 44:59Insanity, insanity.
- 45:01Well, with that,
- 45:02we've talked a lot about wild stuff in
- 45:04the CEO and all that kind of stuff
- 45:06and perspective.
- 45:07I did want to share a couple of
- 45:08quick things.
- 45:10I don't know if you saw this, Corey,
- 45:11but there is a new world record for
- 45:15twenty six point one.
- 45:17Did you see this?
- 45:18No, I did not.
- 45:29It's fantastic.
- 45:31That's outstanding.
- 45:36So I told people,
- 45:37I told several different people because
- 45:39they were asking about how to hold the
- 45:40ball.
- 45:40And I said, if it was me,
- 45:42I would just get somebody else to hold
- 45:43it while I was doing stepovers.
- 45:44It just seems like it's the best way
- 45:48to hold the ball while doing stepovers.
- 45:49Let somebody else hold it.
- 45:53You've been saying all week that you
- 45:55couldn't wait for the new reel to drop.
- 46:00Dude, it's so good.
- 46:03So here it is.
- 46:04The very end.
- 46:14I better use my strong man.
- 46:16Bombastic side-eye.
- 46:17You sure about that?
- 46:55about that time hey chaps awesome if you
- 47:06do not know where that that last bit
- 47:08comes from you need to look up the
- 47:09end of the world on youtube on it's
- 47:13probably on it somebody probably has
- 47:14uploaded to instagram or whatnot or used
- 47:16to be one of my favorite flash videos
- 47:18back in the day it's absolutely hilarious
- 47:22That's we were asking for it.
- 47:26They nailed it.
- 47:26Knocked it out of the park.
- 47:27Loved it.
- 47:28My favorite part is when Miriam is doing
- 47:31her thing and it says,
- 47:33it comes up and says,
- 47:33she's just a cardio athlete.
- 47:35And they're like, side eye.
- 47:37Yeah.
- 47:37And then they show her squatting,
- 47:40three hundred and sixty pounds.
- 47:42I like it.
- 47:42And I like at the very beginning to
- 47:44when, uh,
- 47:46they thought let me use my strong hand
- 47:50because lucy's freaking catching that more
- 47:52like this dude like it's amazing it's
- 47:55absolutely amazing uh and yesterday it did
- 47:58become official uh miriam von rory was
- 48:00named the winner of as well as barney
- 48:06are we going to call barney i was
- 48:07going to go with bjorni but the more
- 48:09i look at it the more i want
- 48:10to call him barney barney leafs barney
- 48:13leafs
- 48:14which sounds like a brand of something.
- 48:18Like,
- 48:19I got to go to the store and
- 48:19pick up a twelve-pack of Borny Leafs.
- 48:27Yeah.
- 48:27There it is.
- 48:27Let me use my strong hand.
- 48:30Anyway,
- 48:30so those are the quick little reels I
- 48:32saw that I thought were cool and the
- 48:35announcements of who won those events.
- 48:37But, yeah.
- 48:40Lito says, I'm pretty sure it was J.Y.
- 48:42who said she's just a cardio athlete.
- 48:46I actually said it one time and I
- 48:48got corrected quickly by Carolyn.
- 48:52I remember her squatting that dude at the,
- 48:54at the games.
- 48:55And I was like, Holy smoke.
- 48:57I was not expecting that at all.
- 49:00It's amazing.
- 49:01And then you see your legs in person
- 49:03and you're like, Oh hell yeah.
- 49:04She can squat that.
- 49:06It makes sense when you see what you
- 49:07can see.
- 49:07Oh yeah.
- 49:07Yeah.
- 49:10That checks out.
- 49:10I think.
- 49:14Yeah.
- 49:15That checks out.
- 49:15That checks out.
- 49:16I'm sorry.
- 49:17That's my bad.
- 49:17My bad.
- 49:18I didn't know.
- 49:19I didn't know.
- 49:24My apologies for calling you a cardio
- 49:25athlete.
- 49:26I'm so sorry.
- 49:27I'm so sorry.
- 49:31And actually, when you look at it,
- 49:32you're like,
- 49:32there's no way she can run fast with
- 49:36that power in her legs.
- 49:39Yeah.
- 49:41Them two slabs she's got for legs.
- 49:43She's just all about proving us all wrong
- 49:45on everything.
- 49:46A good owner, dude.
- 49:48I love stuff like that.
- 49:49Like every time Colton wins something,
- 49:51he has no business actually winning.
- 49:53I'm like, yep, there we go.
- 49:54And that goes for anybody as well.
- 49:56Like if Jason Hopper won a burpee award,
- 49:59you know, a burpee workout,
- 50:00like that was just straight capacity and
- 50:03beat, I don't know, Colton,
- 50:05I would be all for it.
- 50:07Like, let's go.
- 50:08Yeah, Lito actually said at the same time,
- 50:10what's crazy is how good at running she
- 50:12is considering her build.
- 50:13Yeah.
- 50:16All us short people have to take like
- 50:17three steps to every tall person's one.
- 50:19I'm going to tell you that as a...
- 50:21It's funny you say like you bring up
- 50:23Colton because that is how kind of I
- 50:25look at her.
- 50:26But I think she actually has the potential
- 50:27to be more dominant.
- 50:29Well,
- 50:30to be better overall on a weekend because
- 50:33she does have
- 50:36it's not as significant a difference
- 50:38between her height and other women correct
- 50:40as it is for colton and other men
- 50:42and so even though she has to overcome
- 50:44some things it's not as great and so
- 50:48a three or four day weekend doesn't do
- 50:50the damage to her like it does to
- 50:52colt well look at that picture that you
- 50:54put up of the four of them from
- 50:56last week right you know damn good and
- 50:57well colton was standing on the box
- 50:59whenever they took that he is not as
- 51:00tall as as the as the them other
- 51:02three dudes
- 51:05Freda says,
- 51:05I love seeing the underdog win.
- 51:07Yeah,
- 51:07I don't think she's going to be an
- 51:08underdog for very long.
- 51:10No.
- 51:11I think she's going to be perennial top
- 51:12ten.
- 51:13She is short, you say,
- 51:17but relative to the field,
- 51:19she's not that short.
- 51:21Right.
- 51:22One percent.
- 51:30I have no idea how to do custom
- 51:31leaderboards.
- 51:34I would have to have it and I'd
- 51:35have to pull it up and do it
- 51:36live.
- 51:37I have no idea.
- 51:38Yeah.
- 51:39Sorry, John.
- 51:42But yeah, fun stuff today.
- 51:45I was going to,
- 51:45I was going to complain that the starting
- 51:47center for the Chicago bears decided to
- 51:49retire at twenty seven,
- 51:51which is a devastating blow for the bears
- 51:56after the season they had.
- 51:59Because they fixed the whole interior of
- 52:00their offensive line.
- 52:02Became one of the best offensive lines in
- 52:03the league.
- 52:05And Bears fans just can't have nice
- 52:08things.
- 52:09Well... But...
- 52:14I would say neither can we as Saints
- 52:16fans, but like...
- 52:18just saw a graphic yesterday about uh a
- 52:21trade that we made with i forget who
- 52:25it was but like they just released the
- 52:28dude and like we came out way to
- 52:34the good like it's ridiculous i'd have to
- 52:36go look it up i'll send it to
- 52:37you when i find it later dude it's
- 52:39it's amazing like we are scheduled shaping
- 52:42up to actually have a decent season next
- 52:43year so i'm kind of excited
- 52:45Might actually watch some NFL.
- 52:46I think what's happening in the NFL is
- 52:52kids aren't going to retire earlier.
- 52:54It's just the impact,
- 52:56especially being an offensive lineman or a
- 52:58center who has to block three hundred and
- 53:00fifty pound dudes all day long.
- 53:03Three hundred and fifty pound dudes in
- 53:04their mid-forties.
- 53:08It's ridiculous.
- 53:10Oh, real quick.
- 53:11Have you seen Jennings Dunker?
- 53:15At the combine?
- 53:16I think so.
- 53:17Offensive lineman, Red Mullet.
- 53:20Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 53:22He's three hundred and forty or three
- 53:24hundred and sixty pounds.
- 53:25Something along those lines.
- 53:26He ran a five four forty earlier this
- 53:30week.
- 53:32Wow.
- 53:33Five, five, four, five, five,
- 53:34something like that.
- 53:34Some absolutely bananas crazy and ESPN got
- 53:39him running in slow motion.
- 53:41So the mullet is just like,
- 53:42it's just flying, dude.
- 53:47Yeah.
- 53:48When was the last time though you saw
- 53:49an offensive guard have to run a forty
- 53:52in a game?
- 53:55Never.
- 53:55Right.
- 53:58I'm trying to think.
- 53:59I'm like, do that.
- 54:00Yeah.
- 54:01Not a thing.
- 54:03Oh, John got it figured out.
- 54:04Good job, John George.
- 54:05Hey, you're welcome.
- 54:08All right, guys.
- 54:10Well, with that,
- 54:11we'll head out for the day.
- 54:14I think, I think we're good for tomorrow.
- 54:16Yeah.
- 54:17I have like a family doctor thing at
- 54:18ten.
- 54:19I should be back in plenty of time.
- 54:22I may or may not because I'm going
- 54:24to get some more treatment tomorrow
- 54:27morning.
- 54:27So I may or may not.
- 54:28If I make it,
- 54:29I'll let you know if I can make
- 54:30it or not.
- 54:31Depends on how long Jeremy beats on me.
- 54:34Tomorrow we'll take another look at Dave's
- 54:36clue.
- 54:37We'll maybe do some predictions for twenty
- 54:40six two and get ready and pumped for
- 54:43the show.
- 54:44Hopefully their stream doesn't.
- 54:47Get all wonky.
- 54:49Watercolor.
- 54:50Doesn't go off.
- 54:51Watercolor.
- 54:51It's all.
- 54:52Nineteen ninety two.
- 54:54HBO.
- 54:55Two o'clock.
- 54:56Salvador Dali version of the.
- 55:00Then satellites.
- 55:00Not it.
- 55:01Not aligned.
- 55:03Version.
- 55:04Yeah.
- 55:05All right, guys.
- 55:06It was a fun one.
- 55:07Can't wait to talk to you guys soon.
- 55:09See you all tomorrow on lunch with the
- 55:11Clydesdale.
- 55:12Bye, guys.
