- 1:16Speaker 1: and we will be talking some football.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Greg, Baby, how are you?
- 1:21Speaker 3: What up?
- 1:23Speaker 2: How about there?
- 1:24Speaker 3: I love more than midgame tweets from Will.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Hey, you gotta start tweet and back.
- 1:34Speaker 3: There's nothing I love more than the mid game tweets
- 1:37Speaker 3: and texts from you guys.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I love. Oh.
- 1:42Speaker 3: I mean to find somewhere the sun right now, I
- 1:45Speaker 3: have my shades down humble brag, my automatic shades, and
- 1:49Speaker 3: I'm getting blasted by the sun right and I don't
- 1:53Speaker 3: know where to stand.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Bring out the color in your head. Take it, take
- 1:56Speaker 2: a few minutes, Do whatever you gotta do. Yeah, that's
- 1:58Speaker 2: hold on I'm right here. Hold on, what what game
- 2:00Speaker 2: did you call while we're waiting for you to figure
- 2:02Speaker 2: out your life?
- 2:05Speaker 3: I call I called panthers, Uh, panthers, I called panthers rams.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, dude, It's like I sit there and
- 2:16Speaker 1: I even try and time it up to when Greg
- 2:19Speaker 1: might might check his phone, because the thing too is like.
- 2:23Speaker 3: I check my phone during my game.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah. When we're on ESPN with Rolofsky, like every break,
- 2:29Speaker 2: he immediately goes to his phone. Then you go in
- 2:31Speaker 2: after after the show and you're on Twitter, cut oft
- 2:33Speaker 2: his surfing and you see he's been tweeting back at
- 2:35Speaker 2: a lot of people, and I think that would be
- 2:37Speaker 2: a great bag to add to your game. It's like,
- 2:40Speaker 2: oh damn, Greg, He's he's so beautiful. You know. Greg's
- 2:43Speaker 2: got a different process, Breg. Yeah, Greg is a no
- 2:47Speaker 2: nonsense process guy. Greg's a guy that hated social media
- 2:50Speaker 2: and he's like that is so lame. You guys shouldn't
- 2:52Speaker 2: be doing that, like focus on ball. And now he's
- 2:54Speaker 2: found himself in a world where like I kind of
- 2:56Speaker 2: have to and I hate it. Am I wrong by
- 2:59Speaker 2: saying that?
- 3:00Speaker 1: No?
- 3:00Speaker 3: I mean I I I definitely am involved in social
- 3:03Speaker 3: media during the week. I try to social media is
- 3:06Speaker 3: how I keep up with news, trends, pop culture, just
- 3:10Speaker 3: everyday life entertainment. So like, I'm I don't engage on
- 3:14Speaker 3: social media consistently, but I view it, I consume it.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I'm not a great in I don't create a lot
- 3:22Speaker 3: of social media content, but I do absorb a lot
- 3:25Speaker 3: of it and find a lot of it amusing, stupid, funny,
- 3:28Speaker 3: you know everything in between. But uh yeah, the last
- 3:31Speaker 3: thing you can do during a game, in my opinion
- 3:34Speaker 3: maybe some guys do is like worry about what's being
- 3:37Speaker 3: said on Twitter, or what people's critiques are, or what
- 3:40Speaker 3: people say is good bad momentum, you know all that.
- 3:46Speaker 3: So I mean, I obviously see the tweets after the games,
- 3:49Speaker 3: and I have people that now like send them to me,
- 3:52Speaker 3: which is the way I get a lot of my storylines.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Is now people are in on the in on the
- 3:57Speaker 3: kind of joke and h and send it to me.
- 3:59Speaker 3: But I I the idea of like reacting to social
- 4:02Speaker 3: media during the game blows my mind.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Dude, because I feel like the worst thing too, And
- 4:06Speaker 1: correct me if I'm wrong, Greg, But say you were
- 4:08Speaker 1: just to like scan your phone and it might even
- 4:11Speaker 1: just be it could just be text messages.
- 4:12Speaker 2: But if you get.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Something that is like maybe either egregious or abrasive or
- 4:17Speaker 1: about something called, then you're like, think that's like.
- 4:19Speaker 2: On your mind.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Then when you were about to go that cold makes
- 4:22Speaker 1: sense you're about to go back on TV, you might not, like,
- 4:25Speaker 1: you might not even be thinking about it as a
- 4:27Speaker 1: reason why you don't. But I'm just you know, I'm
- 4:29Speaker 1: just spitballing because I'm like, I'm trying to time it
- 4:32Speaker 1: up when you might go to commercial and I might
- 4:34Speaker 1: have like something.
- 4:34Speaker 2: With momentum, momentum. Hey, you got to talk about momentum.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Hey the Brams had all the momentum when that game
- 4:40Speaker 3: started to dude, Yeah, all it's crazy though, It's just,
- 4:45Speaker 3: you know, you guys have really opened my eyes to
- 4:49Speaker 3: not only the idea of momentum and how important it is,
- 4:52Speaker 3: but for something that's so important and that everybody is
- 4:56Speaker 3: just so desperately trying to grab onto, it's just amazing
- 5:00Speaker 3: to me how it's so ever fleeting. Yeah, that's the part,
- 5:05Speaker 3: you know, for something so important that everyone's trying to capture,
- 5:09Speaker 3: nobody can actually maintain it. That's that's the part of
- 5:12Speaker 3: it that I find so funny.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, momentum is the golden snitch. Like you're not
- 5:16Speaker 2: just gonna get that thing all the time. Always like
- 5:18Speaker 2: eventually like someone's getting closer to the snitch than the
- 5:21Speaker 2: other person and it's just a back and forth, and
- 5:22Speaker 2: whoever grabs the most momentum at the end of the game,
- 5:25Speaker 2: they are the winners. I was listening to I can't
- 5:28Speaker 2: remember what game was, if you you know what it
- 5:29Speaker 2: was right after the game last night, the forty nine
- 5:32Speaker 2: Ers game forty nine Ers Eagles, and it was just
- 5:36Speaker 2: three people sitting at the desk in the middle. Guy
- 5:38Speaker 2: he was a coach for these Steelers for a long
- 5:40Speaker 2: time and count Yeah, Bill Coward. He's sitting there and
- 5:44Speaker 2: he literally is just speaking on the idea of momentum
- 5:47Speaker 2: and how it's not a quantifiable asset that you can
- 5:50Speaker 2: possibly have, but it's so real. It is real. And
- 5:54Speaker 2: he was like, if you listen to you speak about
- 5:57Speaker 2: how momentum is like so not a thing of the
- 5:59Speaker 2: beat of a pop Guess he's like, I got approve,
- 6:01Speaker 2: Like I truly thought he was like sub speaking to
- 6:03Speaker 2: you on national Maybe.
- 6:06Speaker 3: He's a huge fan of busting with the Boys. Maybe
- 6:09Speaker 3: he just loves the Monday Maybe he just loves the
- 6:11Speaker 3: Monday recap. Yeah, you know, listen, I'm not I'm not
- 6:15Speaker 3: anti it. I'm not I'm not closed minded. You know.
- 6:21Speaker 3: I think we watched a whole weekend of football where
- 6:25Speaker 3: at any moment in time, if we pressed pause, one
- 6:28Speaker 3: team had all the momentum and that was so critical
- 6:32Speaker 3: to their future success. And then within two to four
- 6:36Speaker 3: plays or at most of possession or two somehow that
- 6:40Speaker 3: momentum that was so critical to grab onto somehow the
- 6:42Speaker 3: other team got it and it I don't know it.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Just I don't know it.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Just it's just to me, so it just feels lazy.
- 6:51Speaker 3: It just feels like I don't know what else to say.
- 6:54Speaker 3: So I'm just gonna fill this in with this non
- 6:57Speaker 3: No one can tell me I'm wrong. No one can
- 7:00Speaker 3: prove to me I'm wrong. But in no world can
- 7:02Speaker 3: I prove that it's right.
- 7:05Speaker 2: You know.
- 7:05Speaker 1: But you just again, there's moments where you have the
- 7:08Speaker 1: momentum and then boom, you can lose it bam, like
- 7:12Speaker 1: Carolina gets in that game, they don't get back in
- 7:13Speaker 1: the game. Or if the Rams continue to build a
- 7:16Speaker 1: momentum and the ball just doesn't hit Pooka in the
- 7:18Speaker 1: head or hands.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Like.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Pookah, who could drop the ball. Pooka's notss to dropped
- 7:25Speaker 2: the ball. He's mad because he hurt the momentum.
- 7:28Speaker 1: You flew too close to the sun. You flew too
- 7:30Speaker 1: close to the sun. There's this fine balance of having
- 7:34Speaker 1: the juice. It's like when Drake May they do that
- 7:36Speaker 1: little speed option and he bumps it on the D,
- 7:39Speaker 1: N and D and falls forward. He goes up to
- 7:41Speaker 1: get a first down, like this juice comes in your body, like, oh,
- 7:44Speaker 1: I'm playing with the I'm starting to feel it. I'm
- 7:46Speaker 1: playing with this different level of swag. But you can't
- 7:48Speaker 1: fly too close to the sun, get over your skis
- 7:51Speaker 1: and think everything's a cakewalk. You still got to execuse
- 7:54Speaker 1: and then the moment you have a lapse, a lapse,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and it can happen like that momentum gone.
- 7:59Speaker 2: That's the thing, man, Think about all the practices, the
- 8:01Speaker 2: games that you've played in your life. When you walk
- 8:03Speaker 2: out and you're like, bro, I really can't miss today.
- 8:05Speaker 2: That's momentum. And as when you start, you start bawling
- 8:08Speaker 2: out a little bit, and all of a sudden you're
- 8:09Speaker 2: like I'm feeling myself. Oh yo, you see Gregor, you
- 8:11Speaker 2: see him on that outside block right there. Oh my,
- 8:14Speaker 2: he just caught a nice little thing, took a little
- 8:15Speaker 2: farther bay. He's feeling himself. He's feeling himself. Then all
- 8:18Speaker 2: of a sudden, through the hands. That's how you kill momentum. Yeah,
- 8:21Speaker 2: you had momentum and got killed.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Or maybe Greg, you as a coach, you got a
- 8:25Speaker 1: couple plays that you would like to get to. Maybe
- 8:28Speaker 1: in the right situation or circumstances, your players out there,
- 8:31Speaker 1: they start creating this momentum to where you're now loosening
- 8:35Speaker 1: up a little bit as a head coach, and you're like,
- 8:37Speaker 1: I'm dropping this play on him, and then that play
- 8:39Speaker 1: works and you're thinking, hey, I'm kind of in my
- 8:41Speaker 1: bag right now. Versus if you didn't have momentum, then
- 8:44Speaker 1: maybe your own feeling is like, Okay, maybe I don't
- 8:47Speaker 1: go to this play right now. I'm getting a little more.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I'm getting a little bit more in the box. I'm
- 8:51Speaker 1: kind of handcuffing myself a little bit. But you get
- 8:54Speaker 1: to free yourselves from the cuffs whenever you start sparking
- 8:56Speaker 1: a little bit of momentum, right does that makes sense.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Jaguars, Jaguars, that's that's so. I mean the Jaguars had
- 9:03Speaker 3: won what seven straight six straight ish when they finished
- 9:07Speaker 3: the season six six.
- 9:08Speaker 2: And I think they it was.
- 9:14Speaker 3: It felt like they had all the momentum. Yeah, obviously
- 9:20Speaker 3: didn't play out well.
- 9:22Speaker 2: No, No, that that's that's that. I love that you
- 9:24Speaker 2: brought that up playoffootball eight game winning streak, right, it's
- 9:27Speaker 2: a reset, like you can start.
- 9:29Speaker 3: It's like, hold, guys, I need I'm gonna like I
- 9:32Speaker 3: got to write like a board of all the rules.
- 9:34Speaker 2: And we need to do that. We'll hit that in
- 9:35Speaker 2: the off season for you for shit project, like mid April.
- 9:39Speaker 2: We'll have a breakdown of like this is how momentum works.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Where're gonna have a full Q and A. But if
- 9:44Speaker 2: you go in the playoffs your eight game winning streak,
- 9:45Speaker 2: that's a great momentum start to have. But just like
- 9:48Speaker 2: the movie f One, like you're starting in different places now,
- 9:51Speaker 2: so you might start at the front of the pack
- 9:53Speaker 2: with your momentum, but it all depends on how you
- 9:55Speaker 2: drive that game. Now. I believe the Jaguars were running
- 9:58Speaker 2: at like six point one yards per for carry, but
- 10:00Speaker 2: they were tote in the Rock pretty nice, and they
- 10:03Speaker 2: got a little pass happy. Liam Colem, as great of
- 10:05Speaker 2: a coach as he has been the entire year, might
- 10:07Speaker 2: have hurt his team's momentum because Trevor Lawrence himself wasn't
- 10:11Speaker 2: having a momentous day. Does that make sense? Can we
- 10:14Speaker 2: feel good about that?
- 10:15Speaker 3: Yeah? I mean it sounds like it sounds like that's
- 10:18Speaker 3: the answer to all of this. When you don't, when
- 10:21Speaker 3: you're unhappy with the results, it's because you didn't capture
- 10:25Speaker 3: or you lost said momentum. And when you do have
- 10:29Speaker 3: momentary success, the reason for it is that momentary momentum.
- 10:36Speaker 3: But if it could lose, you could lose it at
- 10:38Speaker 3: any moment. Yeah, it's you know, it's Yeah. I guess
- 10:43Speaker 3: I'm starting to really learn how just utterly ridiculous it
- 10:46Speaker 3: all sounds.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Momentum is not the listen.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I believe guys have confidence. I believe athletes feel more
- 10:55Speaker 3: confident than others. We've talked about that. I feel there's
- 10:58Speaker 3: a mentality that built through processes and routine. And yes,
- 11:03Speaker 3: I believe good practice matters. I believe good practice habits matter.
- 11:06Speaker 3: I believe building out your pregame like I believe all
- 11:10Speaker 3: those things from a comfort level put players in a
- 11:13Speaker 3: better or worse spot to go out and have success.
- 11:16Speaker 3: I'm not saying at an individual level these feelings are
- 11:19Speaker 3: not real. They certainly are. I've experienced those same moments
- 11:23Speaker 3: of doubt and fear and holy shit, I've forgotten how
- 11:27Speaker 3: to catch the ball. I hope he doesn't throw it
- 11:28Speaker 3: to me, and in other games where I'm like, he
- 11:30Speaker 3: could throw it at my ass and I'd catch it,
- 11:32Speaker 3: you know what I mean. I can catch it with
- 11:34Speaker 3: one hand behind my back.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Yeah, because you've got some jews got momentum.
- 11:37Speaker 3: But I'm not going to sit here and say that
- 11:40Speaker 3: there's this like big collective universe of this energy that
- 11:43Speaker 3: no one can sense called momentum that is somehow coming
- 11:47Speaker 3: and going and losing and great. I don't know. I
- 11:49Speaker 3: don't catch a ball, drop a ball, make a block,
- 11:51Speaker 3: miss a block, catch a ball, drop a ball. But
- 11:54Speaker 3: every time people talk about momentum, it switches sides three
- 12:00Speaker 3: thousand times a moment, and everyone's trying to capture this
- 12:05Speaker 3: arbitrary thing, but they haven't quite figured out how to
- 12:07Speaker 3: hold onto it.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Greg, do you have a best friend. Yeah, when you're
- 12:12Speaker 2: around your best friend, do you feel like a man,
- 12:14Speaker 2: I'm so stoked to be around my boy right now.
- 12:17Speaker 3: That's how I feel when I'm on the show.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Okay, great, so all right, well you probably won't get
- 12:20Speaker 2: this in this show. But let's say you're with your
- 12:22Speaker 2: boy and you see him and then you walk away
- 12:24Speaker 2: and you're like, man, my boy didn't really feel like
- 12:27Speaker 2: my boy, did it? He kind of felt like he
- 12:28Speaker 2: was a little off. Something was a little different about
- 12:30Speaker 2: my boy. You felt that before, like everyone? Yeah, yeah,
- 12:33Speaker 2: So individually that's called energy. You take eleven energies and
- 12:38Speaker 2: then another eleven energies. That's one collective energy, and that's
- 12:42Speaker 2: that is essentially the nucleus of momentum. So when you're
- 12:46Speaker 2: feeling everyone's got their different energy, their confidence says, hey,
- 12:48Speaker 2: I hope he doesn't throw the ball at me. That's
- 12:50Speaker 2: someone's energy that they're vibrating at a lower frequency. And then
- 12:53Speaker 2: there's the greg Olsen that you can throw it in
- 12:55Speaker 2: my ass. I'm gonna catchit a time. That's a higher frequency.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Now we're looking at right, and then collectively, as a unit,
- 13:02Speaker 2: there's a percentage point that goes up. So based on
- 13:04Speaker 2: all the guys, you could be writing at seventy percent energy,
- 13:07Speaker 2: eighty percent energy, but you don't want to get too high.
- 13:09Speaker 2: So just like the universe, you can you can kind
- 13:12Speaker 2: of take out for people that aren't religious. Hey, instead
- 13:14Speaker 2: of saying God, let's say universe and all the things
- 13:16Speaker 2: are the same. You can basically do that with energy
- 13:18Speaker 2: and momentum the same way. Am I am I off
- 13:20Speaker 2: kilter in that.
- 13:21Speaker 1: You're saying a little something right there, something you agree
- 13:25Speaker 1: with or something a little something that like, oh, something
- 13:27Speaker 1: that I buy because I believe in momentum. I think
- 13:29Speaker 1: where we get stuck because everybody's sitting there listening comments
- 13:33Speaker 1: and so this has just been at debate shown momentum.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I think we all understand and correct me if I'm wrong, Greg,
- 13:41Speaker 1: But momentum is arm in arm with execution. Oh, Like
- 13:45Speaker 1: I know from my seat that I sit in I
- 13:48Speaker 1: believe in momentum. I also believe in execution. So I
- 13:50Speaker 1: buy into again the messages we go back and forth on.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm acceptive or accepting and receptive to the
- 13:58Speaker 1: messages that you bring on bust with the boys. When
- 14:00Speaker 1: teaching football, I feel like you're in a spot to
- 14:02Speaker 1: where you're not necessarily wanting to accept momentum because momentum
- 14:07Speaker 1: is there whether you want to believe it or not.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I'll give you an example.
- 14:10Speaker 1: So listen, we got New Year's resolutions going on, We
- 14:13Speaker 1: got we got account of bill of buddy systems that
- 14:16Speaker 1: haven't taken place day in and day out because we're
- 14:18Speaker 1: not building each and every day. We're not stacking days.
- 14:22Speaker 1: When you have an off there you miss a work out.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Let's say you want to get a sweat in twenty
- 14:25Speaker 1: minutes every day, you're six days into it. In the
- 14:27Speaker 1: seventh day, you kind of something happens to have.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Not gotten a sweat in.
- 14:33Speaker 1: And the conversation I will have with myself is I'm
- 14:37Speaker 1: not stacking consistency, like I'm killing my own momentum because
- 14:40Speaker 1: now I'm in my head thinking I'm going to have
- 14:42Speaker 1: to restart or reset because it comes down to executing
- 14:45Speaker 1: and building on that momentum. So momentum execution are arm
- 14:50Speaker 1: in ARM I accept the execution. I accept some of
- 14:53Speaker 1: the analytics football talk that we have. I get that, Okay,
- 14:56Speaker 1: I need to buy in or I want to buy
- 14:58Speaker 1: into this because it does make sense to me. But
- 15:00Speaker 1: you're not going to tell me there's no such thing
- 15:02Speaker 1: as momentum, because we all believe, we all feel it
- 15:03Speaker 1: when we get a little juice, we capture a little
- 15:05Speaker 1: bit of energy.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Oh, I'm not debating that there's times where you feel
- 15:09Speaker 3: you have all the energy. I'm just asking why then
- 15:12Speaker 3: so quickly does it.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Flip when you miss an extra point and you can't be.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Able to why if if you had all the momentum,
- 15:17Speaker 3: why did you miss the extra point? Because because he
- 15:21Speaker 3: all the energy, why Pooka dropped the ball? If you
- 15:23Speaker 3: had all the energy, why when it was fourteen nothing,
- 15:25Speaker 3: wasn't it twenty eight nothing? That's why when you have
- 15:28Speaker 3: it's just such a it's just so silly.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but look, look, look this is where they didn't execute.
- 15:35Speaker 3: You watched those games over the last two days and thought,
- 15:40Speaker 3: oh my god, the team that's in control, and they
- 15:43Speaker 3: just skated on the games flipped the thousand times the
- 15:47Speaker 3: games went back and forth. I threw Drake May through
- 15:50Speaker 3: an interception on the first drive of the game. Oh
- 15:53Speaker 3: my god, he's MVP. Hes done. He stinks. Matthew Stafford
- 15:58Speaker 3: couldn't complete a pass in the third cour order. All
- 16:01Speaker 3: the momentum was gone. The pat Stafford can't complete a pass.
- 16:05Speaker 3: He's the worst performance of the season, and in the
- 16:08Speaker 3: fourth quarter he didn't throw it in completion, So it
- 16:12Speaker 3: just I don't know, like when did he have it,
- 16:14Speaker 3: When did he lose it? Who took it? Did he
- 16:16Speaker 3: lose it in the lock? No one can ever say
- 16:19Speaker 3: they just throw out The team that's doing well is
- 16:23Speaker 3: only doing well because they have the momentum. It's just nonsense.
- 16:26Speaker 1: They've been executing, executing because.
- 16:29Speaker 3: You're executing, they're playing well. The right guard didn't jump
- 16:32Speaker 3: off sides, I didn't miss the slide call. The receiver
- 16:36Speaker 3: didn't run his route deep enough. For it's football, there's
- 16:40Speaker 3: a thousand things that can go wrong. I think to
- 16:43Speaker 3: just blanket statement when it goes right, they've got the
- 16:46Speaker 3: momentum and that's why it's going right, and then when
- 16:48Speaker 3: there's something that goes wrong, it's just because they've arbitrary
- 16:52Speaker 3: given the momentum back, as opposed to saying why are
- 16:55Speaker 3: they Why is their past game struggling? Why is their
- 16:57Speaker 3: defensive Why is JC Horn and Mike Jackson and playing
- 17:00Speaker 3: so well? What are the coverages that they're using? What
- 17:03Speaker 3: are they doing up front? Are they blitzing more than
- 17:05Speaker 3: they normally do like, that's my take on it. We
- 17:08Speaker 3: all just sat there and just said, man, this team's
- 17:10Speaker 3: got all the momentum. They're doing great. We wouldn't need
- 17:13Speaker 3: to analyze the game. We would just throw out these
- 17:16Speaker 3: cliche you know that really came out to establish the
- 17:20Speaker 3: run today, Like what.
- 17:22Speaker 2: What that's a good take. That's a good take.
- 17:27Speaker 3: No, it's just lazy. In my opinion, it's lazy. Now
- 17:30Speaker 3: I'm not I certainly don't have all the answers. This
- 17:33Speaker 3: is just one man's opinion of doing my job of
- 17:35Speaker 3: trying to present context of a football game that's very
- 17:39Speaker 3: complicated and very complex and a thousand different layers of
- 17:43Speaker 3: physical and mental and emotional individuals.
- 17:46Speaker 2: That are there.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I mean, you guys know it. There's a thousand things.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I think they just put this blanket label on the
- 17:53Speaker 3: good and bad times related to a word that nobody
- 17:56Speaker 3: can define as just lazy.
- 17:57Speaker 2: But you can feel it, Greg, Yeah you yo?
- 18:02Speaker 3: Were you not when the Panthers threw that touchdown? Buddy,
- 18:05Speaker 3: I was sitting in that stadium. Bank of America Stadium
- 18:08Speaker 3: hadn't been like that in ten years. That place was
- 18:12Speaker 3: rocking there with seventy eight thousand the scoreboards lighting, there's
- 18:15Speaker 3: a laser show. Jalen Cooker's in the back corner. Bryce
- 18:19Speaker 3: Young's getting helped up by the official. They just took
- 18:22Speaker 3: the lead. They had all the momentum, and then Matthew
- 18:25Speaker 3: Stafford went touchdown and then they lost.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Dude, it's like it's like you said, it's fleeting. It
- 18:35Speaker 2: can happen. It's a the audience, the destiny.
- 18:40Speaker 1: If we're going to fulfill the destiny of this, the
- 18:43Speaker 1: audience that loves the child, that loves to listen in
- 18:45Speaker 1: and listen to Greg Olsen, come on and hear us
- 18:47Speaker 1: talk backing for the momentum, the destiny, if we're going
- 18:50Speaker 1: to fulfill it. It's just Greg acknowledging that momentum is real.
- 18:53Speaker 1: You just said it. How the stadium it hadn't been
- 18:56Speaker 1: like that in ten years. You're watching it happen the juice.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I'm not saying it didn't exist. I'm just saying people
- 19:03Speaker 3: need to know.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Hey, the momentum we're feeling in this place right now, Joe,
- 19:07Speaker 1: do you see it?
- 19:08Speaker 2: Can you see there isn't an ass on an empty seat?
- 19:11Speaker 3: Put your hand out, Joe.
- 19:11Speaker 2: You can literally touch the momentum right now.
- 19:13Speaker 1: And the audience of this show is gonna just come
- 19:15Speaker 1: up like Leonie on DiCaprio, like there he is, Briggs,
- 19:18Speaker 1: he's he's he's understanding what the audience feels from there
- 19:21Speaker 1: at I'm watching this game and being like, oh man,
- 19:23Speaker 1: do you.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Feel this momentimum it felt it?
- 19:25Speaker 2: Oh snap, it went the other way. Yeah, we felt
- 19:28Speaker 2: it in the booth.
- 19:28Speaker 3: I just want to know why. Why And thirty seconds later,
- 19:32Speaker 3: after the kickoff that.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Left Matthew Stafford Matthew Stafford.
- 19:36Speaker 3: I guess we're gonnash it.
- 19:39Speaker 2: We're gonna snatch the soul from these right. This is
- 19:41Speaker 2: this is Pokemon, this is a dragon ball Z. This
- 19:44Speaker 2: is you. You've gathered your individuals to help you, and
- 19:48Speaker 2: if you just have a Matthew Stafford on the other side,
- 19:50Speaker 2: it's like that guy at any moment can take your
- 19:53Speaker 2: momentum and he can shove it up your ass.
- 19:55Speaker 3: That's what I can do and I got. And the
- 19:58Speaker 3: best part about this is I have you, guys and
- 20:00Speaker 3: all of your trusted listeners pointing it out to me
- 20:05Speaker 3: multiple times a game, and for that I feel like
- 20:08Speaker 3: we've won.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Do you have not one?
- 20:10Speaker 3: We we have no winners and losers.
- 20:16Speaker 2: It hasn't been successful until Greg Olsen is on a
- 20:20Speaker 2: broadcast and even just goes. A lot of people right
- 20:23Speaker 2: now are probably thinking to themselves, there's a lot of
- 20:25Speaker 2: momentum taking place. I just need you to mention momentum
- 20:29Speaker 2: and then we can take the next step.
- 20:31Speaker 3: And if for.
- 20:31Speaker 2: God's sake, if you don't do anything else and just
- 20:34Speaker 2: look at our text messages at a commercial break, you'll
- 20:37Speaker 2: know the right time. Don't look at Twitter. People are
- 20:40Speaker 2: haters on Twitter.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Hey, take it our group chat and I'll even call
- 20:44Speaker 1: him bus on that because here was a no show
- 20:46Speaker 1: last week on this show right after the weekend, the
- 20:49Speaker 1: word we laid out the formula of here, here's when
- 20:52Speaker 1: you ject momentum to the conversation when the patriots going.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I gave you dude, told you, hey, this is about
- 21:01Speaker 2: us right now talking about Greg not showing up on
- 21:03Speaker 2: the show after he had the perfect opportunities of momentum
- 21:05Speaker 2: in a group chat that you displayed perfectly, and we.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Said it on the show like, here's what's gonna happen, yep,
- 21:11Speaker 1: when New England scores and you're gonna talk about this
- 21:13Speaker 1: loss to the Buffalo Bills. The best thing ever happened
- 21:15Speaker 1: to this team whatever I said, and then we laid
- 21:18Speaker 1: it out in the group chat. Hey, here's the quote
- 21:20Speaker 1: that you're gonna hit Joe with if when the Patriots
- 21:23Speaker 1: go of seven to nothing. And it was right there
- 21:26Speaker 1: to the point to where I believe. And I was
- 21:27Speaker 1: taking my daughter to a birthday party and I'm telling her, no, sweetheart,
- 21:30Speaker 1: we can't listen to the Frozen soundtrack. Daddad has to
- 21:33Speaker 1: listen to this game right now? Do. I had it
- 21:35Speaker 1: cranked up the drive after. I'm waiting to hear when's
- 21:39Speaker 1: Greggie boy going to talk about everything we laid on
- 21:41Speaker 1: the game plan? When is he going to execute all
- 21:45Speaker 1: the things that he preaches? We are right there right
- 21:47Speaker 1: and it never got missed.
- 21:49Speaker 2: And dude, I'm literally going outside. It's dusk and I'm
- 21:53Speaker 2: going to do get the chickens and get the eggs
- 21:55Speaker 2: and feed them for the night time. And my dad
- 21:56Speaker 2: texts me and says, Greg Olsen is crushing this call
- 22:00Speaker 2: right now, ever since you've had him on the show.
- 22:02Speaker 2: And I see the fun you guys have.
- 22:04Speaker 3: I have.
- 22:05Speaker 2: I love walk listening to Greg Olsen call show. And
- 22:08Speaker 2: my only text back did he mention momentum My only
- 22:12Speaker 2: text back to him. Did he mention momentum and Mike
- 22:16Speaker 2: to break mine? He had to break mine on me.
- 22:20Speaker 1: This show lost on me, This show lost all of
- 22:22Speaker 1: its momentum when he decided not to execute.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 22:26Speaker 3: That's fair, that's fair.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Exactly, that's not me.
- 22:28Speaker 3: I got a whole year. I don't broadcast again until September.
- 22:33Speaker 3: I'm done, boys, what do you? We're done? Divisional round?
- 22:37Speaker 3: It just goes to the four A crews.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Oh, Greg, that's bullshit, dude, you're an A C. You're
- 22:43Speaker 2: an A crew.
- 22:44Speaker 3: You're well that means a lot coming from you, guys,
- 22:48Speaker 3: but I appreciate it greatly. But yeah, we're uh, we're done, man.
- 22:52Speaker 3: I mean, I'm like, today's like my exit meeting, and
- 22:55Speaker 3: instead of doing my exit meeting with I'm doing my
- 22:57Speaker 3: exit meeting with you guys.
- 22:59Speaker 2: This is the egg meet. And honestly, if you want
- 23:02Speaker 2: to break it down, you have such great insight on
- 23:04Speaker 2: the game. You do great job technically both on the
- 23:06Speaker 2: offense and the defensive side of the ball. If there
- 23:09Speaker 2: is room to improve, allow the audience to be a
- 23:13Speaker 2: part of your broadcast by mentioning momentum.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Yeah, the audience as a whole understands the energy and
- 23:19Speaker 1: momentum shifts because Buddy speak to them a little.
- 23:21Speaker 2: There is going to be a rocket ship of momentum
- 23:24Speaker 2: that takes off and explodes in the atmosphere the minute
- 23:28Speaker 2: you mentioned momentum in October, mid October Midspooctober.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Of next year, we interrupt this episode to bring you
- 23:36Speaker 1: Rose Sparks. Let me explain why guys keep talking about
- 23:39Speaker 1: Roe Sparks. You hear stories about dudes saying once they
- 23:41Speaker 1: started taking it, their confidence and momentum went through the roof,
- 23:46Speaker 1: and suddenly date nights felt like a whole different story
- 23:48Speaker 1: because after it dissolves under your tongue, you get hard
- 23:50Speaker 1: in fifteen minutes on average, and that is fast boys,
- 23:53Speaker 1: no planning your whole day around it, and they last
- 23:56Speaker 1: up to thirty six hours, which means you're ready all weekend,
- 23:59Speaker 1: not just one moment. That's also why guys on Roast
- 24:01Speaker 1: Sparks report their partners we're more satisfied in bed. Confidence
- 24:05Speaker 1: changes everything. So if you want to get hard fast
- 24:07Speaker 1: and be ready for sex for up to thirty six hours,

- 24:48Speaker 1: dot com slash safety info. Let's get back to this episode,
- 24:52Speaker 1: all right, enough, I do have one question, A real question,
- 24:55Speaker 1: will before because I know everybody probably like when when
- 24:58Speaker 1: we start talking about these football A real question, as
- 25:04Speaker 1: you're like getting in, is this something that's just contractually
- 25:07Speaker 1: laid out and you know, no matter what, at all times,
- 25:10Speaker 1: the last game is going to be called divisional round
- 25:12Speaker 1: or is there a feeling or a sense that it
- 25:14Speaker 1: might that there could be an opportunity or potential for
- 25:16Speaker 1: you to call a game beyond the divisional rounds.
- 25:19Speaker 3: No, it's all it's all pre set, you know. So
- 25:21Speaker 3: whenever they went to the you know like Super wild
- 25:24Speaker 3: Card where there's uh, you know what is it six games? Yeah,
- 25:28Speaker 3: so the way the way the TV deal goes well
- 25:31Speaker 3: this year, so it was you know, the main A
- 25:34Speaker 3: crews go Fox, CBS, NBC, ESPN, and Amazon so Prime
- 25:40Speaker 3: so those five and then there's an extra game. So
- 25:43Speaker 3: this year, the the in the broadcast deal, it kind
- 25:45Speaker 3: of rotates. You know, CBS might their beat their second
- 25:49Speaker 3: crew might have gotten a game in years past, I
- 25:52Speaker 3: want to say last year like Peacock had a game.
- 25:55Speaker 3: So this year the six slots of wild Card where
- 25:58Speaker 3: the five regular networks, four networks and one streamer, and
- 26:02Speaker 3: then Fox had the second the sixth game, like the
- 26:06Speaker 3: Fox had the sixth game. So that's the way it worked.
- 26:10Speaker 3: But then when it goes to the divisional round, it
- 26:12Speaker 3: just goes to CBS, NBC, Fox, and ESPN. So it
- 26:16Speaker 3: just goes to the four main So there's no there's
- 26:19Speaker 3: nothing you can do. It's not there's no momentum you
- 26:22Speaker 3: can build and then lose and then build it back
- 26:24Speaker 3: and then lose it again. Yeah, it's just clearcut. You know,
- 26:28Speaker 3: we got the wild card this year and uh, and
- 26:31Speaker 3: that'll be it. So he's known this all year.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Is there a momentum that takes place in the offseason
- 26:36Speaker 1: to where you are looked at as the A crew
- 26:39Speaker 1: for next year? Or is that is that all? Is
- 26:41Speaker 1: that already kind of figured out contractually?
- 26:44Speaker 3: Yeah? All these contracts are multi years, So you know,
- 26:47Speaker 3: Tom's obviously under contract for eight more years with Fox,
- 26:52Speaker 3: you know, so it and then you know Romo's under contract,
- 26:55Speaker 3: and Aikman and Collinsworth, Herbstreet and then obviously all the crews.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Really the only networks that have like second, third, four, fifth,
- 27:05Speaker 3: you know, down the line of multiple crews or Fox
- 27:07Speaker 3: and CBS just because you know, we're the two networks
- 27:10Speaker 3: that broadcast the full slate of games every Sunday. But yeah,
- 27:14Speaker 3: all those all those contras no different than playing all
- 27:16Speaker 3: those contracts. Our multi year deals are laid out into
- 27:20Speaker 3: the future and pretty clear kind of what crew you're
- 27:23Speaker 3: on in those.
- 27:24Speaker 2: How much longer do you have with Fox?
- 27:27Speaker 3: My contract runs out next year, So I got the
- 27:29Speaker 3: twenty twenty six seasons, my last contractual season as of now.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Will we talked with this too? I know he's a
- 27:36Speaker 2: guy in two years. Oh, that's right, that's right, Yeah,
- 27:38Speaker 2: that's right, that's right.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Momentum, Am I allowed to ask going into your next deal?
- 27:42Speaker 1: You're looking you'd be looking for. I need to be
- 27:45Speaker 1: part of an a team. Am I allowed to ask that?
- 27:47Speaker 2: You can ask? You can ask me.
- 27:48Speaker 3: You're can to ask me anything you want. This is
- 27:50Speaker 3: the trust tree. Okay, Yeah, you know I've been pretty
- 27:53Speaker 3: I've been very open and honest about all of that.
- 27:56Speaker 3: You know, I love doing this. I love talking ball,
- 27:58Speaker 3: I love analyzing the game. I love calling the games.
- 28:01Speaker 3: It's something now. I just finished my fifth season doing it,
- 28:04Speaker 3: and I really enjoy it.
- 28:06Speaker 1: You know.
- 28:06Speaker 3: I've called playoff games and Super Bowl and you know,
- 28:08Speaker 3: some really cool moments. And my plan is to do
- 28:11Speaker 3: this for as long as people will have me and
- 28:14Speaker 3: don't kick me out. You know, the reality about this
- 28:17Speaker 3: world is there's only a couple of those top jobs,
- 28:20Speaker 3: right each each network has one, and there's only really
- 28:23Speaker 3: five network slash streamers that are in the game as
- 28:27Speaker 3: of now, so you know, those seats don't become open
- 28:30Speaker 3: very often, so you kind of it's really just a
- 28:34Speaker 3: waiting game and buying your time and just try to
- 28:37Speaker 3: no different as a player. You just try to do
- 28:39Speaker 3: as good of a job as you can in the
- 28:41Speaker 3: job that you have at the moment, and you just
- 28:43Speaker 3: hope over time people see it and believe in it
- 28:47Speaker 3: and appreciate it, and some do, some don't. But you
- 28:49Speaker 3: need one person that really likes the way you do
- 28:51Speaker 3: it and feels that you can be an asset. And
- 28:54Speaker 3: there's also a big timing element of that are you available?
- 28:57Speaker 3: Is this seat available? So for right now, I'm really
- 29:00Speaker 3: happy doing what I'm doing calling games. I've got a
- 29:03Speaker 3: great crew. We call some really cool moments obviously, playoff
- 29:05Speaker 3: games and whatnot. So I'll uh, you know the rest
- 29:09Speaker 3: of that. There's really just like a an element of
- 29:13Speaker 3: you just got to see how the market opens up.
- 29:15Speaker 3: There's a lot that you can do.
- 29:18Speaker 2: If hypothetically, since we're playing the trust Tree game, let's
- 29:21Speaker 2: just say like a Netflix got like a slate of
- 29:23Speaker 2: games like they are now a part of that group
- 29:25Speaker 2: of CBS, Fox, ESPN all that, and they're like, hey,
- 29:28Speaker 2: we need an a list crew for a game, and
- 29:32Speaker 2: you're an exclusivity deal with CBS, would you humor the
- 29:35Speaker 2: idea of the again, let me ask it in a
- 29:38Speaker 2: way that you can actually answer. Would there be a
- 29:40Speaker 2: buyout that kind of takes place, if they were to
- 29:42Speaker 2: buy you out and go to like Netflix, or how
- 29:45Speaker 2: would that work if hypothetically there's an option for you
- 29:49Speaker 2: to be an A list guy.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Yeah, so certainly you would entertain those and have to
- 29:54Speaker 3: dive deeper into what exactly the role is and the
- 29:58Speaker 3: slate of games and you know, so it's easy to
- 30:01Speaker 3: label something as an A job, a B job, a
- 30:03Speaker 3: C job, but you really have to just get a
- 30:05Speaker 3: framework of what games are you broadcast, and what's the platform,
- 30:08Speaker 3: what are the days, how many of them? Compensation? You know,
- 30:12Speaker 3: there's there's like anything, there's elements to the job that
- 30:15Speaker 3: make some more and less some more appealing and some
- 30:19Speaker 3: less appealing. If those A level jobs come up, you
- 30:22Speaker 3: have those conversations. Fox has been really clear and open
- 30:26Speaker 3: and very positive with me about like they want to
- 30:30Speaker 3: see me get a job right like kind of it's
- 30:32Speaker 3: like every head coach that has that really good coordinator,
- 30:36Speaker 3: you know, if that coordinator at some point one day
- 30:38Speaker 3: earns the opportunity to be a head coach. Those head
- 30:41Speaker 3: coaches say, you know, the good head coaches say, we
- 30:44Speaker 3: want to create an environment that we can showcase you
- 30:47Speaker 3: and get you to the level that you wish to go.
- 30:48Speaker 3: And that's how Fox has been to me, both publicly
- 30:52Speaker 3: and behind closed doors. So I've been appreciative of that.
- 30:54Speaker 3: And if those opportunities present themselves, you know, for obviously
- 30:59Speaker 3: you explore it no different than you would in any
- 31:02Speaker 3: other industry.
- 31:04Speaker 2: I love that all right now, talking football, I just
- 31:07Speaker 2: want to know real quick, how long do you want
- 31:10Speaker 2: to do this before? How long do you want to
- 31:11Speaker 2: do this?
- 31:12Speaker 1: Like?
- 31:13Speaker 2: Is it until retirement? Troy noons, He says, you're doing
- 31:15Speaker 2: it forever. I want to know what you think.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Troy, Yeah. I mean my plan right now is you know,
- 31:22Speaker 3: I'll be forty one in March, so I'm relatively young
- 31:25Speaker 3: in the TV world. I might be younger than Will.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Well, how old are you, I'm thirty six. To relax,
- 31:35Speaker 2: I'm thirty four. I'm old.
- 31:38Speaker 3: I'm an old podcaster. I'm a relatively young TV analyst.
- 31:43Speaker 3: I guess you know, I don't know if I have
- 31:47Speaker 3: like a set number. Am I going to do this
- 31:49Speaker 3: when I'm seventy. Probably not, but I don't see any
- 31:53Speaker 3: time soon that this is not something that I continue
- 31:56Speaker 3: to pursue and continue to do because I love it.
- 31:58Speaker 3: It's fun, It keeps me in aged in the game.
- 32:00Speaker 3: I've learned probably more in the last five years than
- 32:02Speaker 3: I did in fourteen years of playing. The conversations, the
- 32:06Speaker 3: access who you get to talk to, picking the brains
- 32:09Speaker 3: of some of the best football minds in the league.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I've learned and stolen information from people way smarter than me.
- 32:16Speaker 3: And I think that's being able to identify who those
- 32:19Speaker 3: people are and what pieces of what nuggets they're giving
- 32:22Speaker 3: you that are really good, I think is the key
- 32:24Speaker 3: to success in a lot of ways. And that access
- 32:28Speaker 3: that we get as TV analysts has been really fun
- 32:30Speaker 3: in that regard.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I love that. I do love it as well.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Don't don't steal stuff on the internet. They people people
- 32:36Speaker 1: people gate keep a lot on the internet.
- 32:38Speaker 2: They do.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Yeah, So, Greg, in your opinion the games you've watched,
- 32:45Speaker 1: because we still have Houston and Pittsburgh to night, which
- 32:48Speaker 1: team do you feel like have has.
- 32:51Speaker 2: The most momentum coming out of the wildcard weekend. It's
- 32:53Speaker 2: a great question. It's a great question.
- 32:55Speaker 3: It's a great it's a great question, you know. I
- 32:59Speaker 3: think you know what's so hard other than last night's game,
- 33:02Speaker 3: which felt like, probably beginning of the fourth quarter, it
- 33:09Speaker 3: felt like the Patriots had all the momentum and they
- 33:11Speaker 3: weren't going to give it back. Yep, I feel like
- 33:14Speaker 3: that's so outside of the Patriots, who I felt like
- 33:18Speaker 3: won that game handily. I had no point, and I
- 33:20Speaker 3: think the Chargers were going to score a touchdown, let
- 33:22Speaker 3: alone two touchdowns to come back. That their offense really struggled,
- 33:26Speaker 3: and the Patriots defense was awesome. Your boy for abel
- 33:28Speaker 3: his plan on defense, the way he handled those end
- 33:31Speaker 3: of game drives over the two minute warning, with the
- 33:34Speaker 3: substitutions and slow playing and dreaming clock, and he really
- 33:38Speaker 3: handled the end of the game. I thought he should
- 33:39Speaker 3: have went for two to make it fourteen. But outside
- 33:42Speaker 3: of that, I thought he really handled the end of
- 33:44Speaker 3: game really well, draining that clock on that last possession
- 33:47Speaker 3: of the Chargers. The other games were so close, right, Like,
- 33:52Speaker 3: I think you can make an argument that we could
- 33:54Speaker 3: have the Panthers and Philly and the Packers could just
- 33:59Speaker 3: as just as likely to be playing next weekend as
- 34:03Speaker 3: the teams who won so I'm not sure if there's
- 34:06Speaker 3: a clear cut favorite right now. I think Seattle's sitting
- 34:10Speaker 3: pretty good, sitting there a week rested, with teams coming
- 34:14Speaker 3: to them after having the buy. I think the Rams,
- 34:18Speaker 3: probably for a non divisional team, probably have the best path.
- 34:22Speaker 3: I think they'd much rather go play Chicago coming off
- 34:25Speaker 3: that win against the Packers, then go play a rested
- 34:28Speaker 3: division rival in Seattle that they, you know, have had
- 34:31Speaker 3: two big games against already. So I would say probably
- 34:34Speaker 3: the Rams have the best path to the NFC Championship.
- 34:37Speaker 3: The Rams and the Seahawks would be my bet. Although
- 34:40Speaker 3: every time we count out forty nine Ers and McCaffrey
- 34:43Speaker 3: and Shanahan, every time we say they have nobody left
- 34:46Speaker 3: and they have nobody worth the shit our boy, we
- 34:48Speaker 3: got pour one out for our boy. Yeah, bros, so hard, heartbreaking.
- 34:54Speaker 3: I hate it for him. I tried facet timing them
- 34:57Speaker 3: this morning. He didn't answer. I get it, you know,
- 35:01Speaker 3: do I see Seattle San Francisco going to Seattle and
- 35:04Speaker 3: beating them decimated? No, but we've also canceled, you know,
- 35:07Speaker 3: called it, you know, counted them out the entire season,
- 35:10Speaker 3: So I guess anything's possible. But uh, that was a
- 35:13Speaker 3: really bad answer. But I don't. I don't think there
- 35:15Speaker 3: is a favorite I would I guess if I had
- 35:17Speaker 3: to say, it'd be the team that didn't play, and
- 35:19Speaker 3: it would be Seattle.
- 35:22Speaker 2: See momentum if you're just looking at it from a
- 35:24Speaker 2: strictly momentum standpoint, strictly hard to not look at the
- 35:28Speaker 2: Chicago Bears and go that team's got a lot of
- 35:31Speaker 2: momentum right now based on yeah, based on their second
- 35:34Speaker 2: half being down one.
- 35:36Speaker 3: What if there's a decline because there's like an emotional letdown, Like,
- 35:39Speaker 3: how do you quantify that?
- 35:40Speaker 2: Very very real, very real? And like momentum is not
- 35:46Speaker 2: a foundational piece. It's something you gain after, just like
- 35:49Speaker 2: putting down your foundation as a team. And the Bears,
- 35:52Speaker 2: as exciting as they are and how much momentum they
- 35:54Speaker 2: do have, they are a team that needs momentum in
- 35:58Speaker 2: order to continue their playoff run. Like, dude, have we
- 36:01Speaker 2: seen a better throw in recent years? In that fourth
- 36:04Speaker 2: and eight by Caleb Mills. I mean, that was the
- 36:07Speaker 2: most incredible throw I've personally ever watched a live and
- 36:10Speaker 2: been like, oh my god, this kid is absolutely amazing.
- 36:14Speaker 2: And then to go the next play and have his
- 36:16Speaker 2: feet set, perfect pocket presence, ball high and tight, and
- 36:20Speaker 2: deliver a ball that sales away from him. It's like, man,
- 36:23Speaker 2: if he can just when it's when the pocket's clean
- 36:27Speaker 2: and you're just stepping into your throw like a normal quarterback.
- 36:30Speaker 2: If you can, if you can acquire that skill, he
- 36:33Speaker 2: will be the most dangerous quarterback in the NFL.
- 36:38Speaker 3: I can teach that. I can't teach the first one.
- 36:41Speaker 2: You can't teach that that. That's incredible what he did
- 36:44Speaker 2: and he put it perfectly where it needed to go.
- 36:46Speaker 3: But the work on his footwork in the pocket in
- 36:48Speaker 3: the off season, no doubt. You can spend all your
- 36:52Speaker 3: life and that throw he made to his left off
- 36:56Speaker 3: the ground both feet, dropping it over his own defender
- 36:59Speaker 3: into the on the biggest play of the season. There's
- 37:03Speaker 3: two guys in the league that can do that, maybe one.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and then literally he hit the Jordan logo while
- 37:09Speaker 2: throwing a ball like it was like it was up.
- 37:11Speaker 2: It was perfect, Like, dude, it's I have become.
- 37:16Speaker 3: Sneaky, sneaky. Highlight play of the weekend I don't think
- 37:19Speaker 3: enough people are talking about was McCaffrey's catch on the
- 37:22Speaker 3: reverse pass.
- 37:24Speaker 2: I didn't see that.
- 37:25Speaker 1: The catch, you're saying, sneaky athletic, the way he caught it.
- 37:29Speaker 3: I think that catching any And you know, we're spending
- 37:32Speaker 3: so much time on Jwan Jennings in the throw and
- 37:34Speaker 3: the play call, and rightfully so the catch that McCaffery.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Anyone who's ever tracked the ball over their head knows
- 37:42Speaker 3: that the ball that lands on your backside ear is
- 37:46Speaker 3: the hardest catching football because it's like the Willie Mays, right,
- 37:49Speaker 3: it's like behind your helmet. Then you factor in that
- 37:51Speaker 3: ball is thrown by a receiver forty yards down the
- 37:55Speaker 3: field on a rope in thirty five million hour wins. Yeah,
- 38:00Speaker 3: that ball in the air probably moved six yards.
- 38:04Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 38:05Speaker 3: And for a running back, now, I know he's unique,
- 38:08Speaker 3: but for a running back to track and catch that
- 38:11Speaker 3: ball in that moment, I think people just looked at
- 38:13Speaker 3: it as like, oh my god, what a throw, what
- 38:15Speaker 3: a play? Yes there, that catch is so ridiculously hard,
- 38:20Speaker 3: and I don't think people have an appreciation for how
- 38:22Speaker 3: hard that was that catch, the Caleb Williams throw. We
- 38:26Speaker 3: saw some plays this weekend Colby Parkinson's catch to win
- 38:30Speaker 3: the game. We saw some individual plays that are like
- 38:36Speaker 3: the difficulty level is like through the roof.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Jaw dropping, because even on McCaffrey's catch too, there's that
- 38:41Speaker 1: there's that split second of being in a blind spot
- 38:44Speaker 1: where you're kind of throwing your hands at it.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Yeah, and the hardest catching it's the hardest catching football.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Yeah, No, CMC is unreal. Staying on the uh, the
- 38:53Speaker 1: Packers Bears game. Did you see the stat that came
- 38:55Speaker 1: out with you know, in their two games, like how
- 38:58Speaker 1: many points the Bears scored in the first half. It
- 39:00Speaker 1: was a total of six collectively in their two games.
- 39:02Speaker 1: And then the second half is like sixty eight second
- 39:04Speaker 1: half in overtime. Yeah, sixty eight points. I mean the
- 39:07Speaker 1: fact that the Packers were up twenty one to three
- 39:10Speaker 1: and then you go back, you know, when they did
- 39:11Speaker 1: take the lead and miss that extra point. It was
- 39:13Speaker 1: funny because we were You said, like a momentum. You
- 39:16Speaker 1: said something, and I replied under your tweet like packers
- 39:18Speaker 1: got all the Packers got the momentum right now, And
- 39:20Speaker 1: then I was like, wait, they just missed the extra point,
- 39:23Speaker 1: missing two field goals as well, like a collective seven
- 39:26Speaker 1: points they left on the field.
- 39:28Speaker 3: Just should have just taken the points though.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Yeah, brutal way.
- 39:31Speaker 3: Yeah, take the point, tried to take the points. I
- 39:33Speaker 3: just don't know why the points. They didn't get that point.
- 39:35Speaker 1: No, I know, but a brutal way, crazy, a brutal
- 39:39Speaker 1: way to go out for the Packers.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, And it's just I think they're also the
- 39:44Speaker 2: point differential for the fourth quarter this year, Like in
- 39:47Speaker 2: the first half it was it's, you know, minus something,
- 39:50Speaker 2: and then the fourth quarter throughout the the totality of
- 39:52Speaker 2: the year, it's like plus one twenty two. Yeah, like
- 39:55Speaker 2: it they are if they could just figure out a
- 39:57Speaker 2: way to do that the whole game, the whole game. Yeah,
- 40:00Speaker 2: but they're they're they're they're too momentum based. There are
- 40:03Speaker 2: too momentum based. Bear.
- 40:06Speaker 1: I thought that call to by Ben Johnson on the
- 40:09Speaker 1: last touchdown where they come in they go tackle over,
- 40:13Speaker 1: so the tackle is set to is this the.
- 40:17Speaker 3: Uh?
- 40:17Speaker 1: No?
- 40:18Speaker 2: Was it was it?
- 40:19Speaker 1: It was like the it was the pump screen in
- 40:21Speaker 1: the fringe area, Yeah, to Loveland to where they have
- 40:24Speaker 1: the tackle over because they they did.
- 40:26Speaker 2: It earlier in the game to where they have more moran. Yeah,
- 40:30Speaker 2: I thought that. Yeah, I thought it was a receiver. Yeah,
- 40:33Speaker 2: threw like bubble.
- 40:34Speaker 3: They threw like balanced bubble balance was wide open for
- 40:39Speaker 3: a touchdowns because earlier.
- 40:40Speaker 1: In the game they set it up like as you
- 40:41Speaker 1: guys know, they get the bubble or they get the
- 40:43Speaker 1: screen out on the perimeter, tackle screaming out there, they
- 40:46Speaker 1: go tackle over to get big Boy even closer, and
- 40:49Speaker 1: then they throw, they fake the perimeter and then go
- 40:51Speaker 1: up the field to score a touchdown. I thought that
- 40:52Speaker 1: play call was was incredible. Ye, based on the way
- 40:57Speaker 1: that play. It's the same play that took place in
- 40:58Speaker 1: the Bills Jaguars game when they did like a bubble
- 41:01Speaker 1: scream and I think it was knocks. He went to
- 41:04Speaker 1: fake block and as the guy bit he just ran
- 41:06Speaker 1: up and it.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Was right there for a touchdown. Yeah, dude, it's some
- 41:09Speaker 2: of that matters. Coaching does matter.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Look at the four teams left in the NFC. I
- 41:14Speaker 3: mean look at I mean look at just look at
- 41:16Speaker 3: who they are. McVeigh, Shanahan, Ben Johnson, Mike McDonald.
- 41:21Speaker 2: The best, the four best.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Coaching matters, quarterback matters, play calling matters. It just matters.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Yeah. What staying on the Bears, Loveland, he has had
- 41:34Speaker 2: I think after a week six, like.
- 41:36Speaker 3: He's really good.
- 41:37Speaker 2: He's incredible. I would love to hear like your personal
- 41:39Speaker 2: breakdown of Colston Loveland as a tight end.
- 41:43Speaker 3: I'm glad you asked so. I've always thought there's two
- 41:46Speaker 3: camps of NFL tight ends. And this is not a
- 41:49Speaker 3: knock on anybody. This is just the reality of the position.
- 41:52Speaker 3: There's two camps in the tight end world. The first
- 41:55Speaker 3: camp is well, not easy by any means. The first
- 41:59Speaker 3: camp is you are going to be the product of
- 42:01Speaker 3: your system in the fact that play action you're gonna
- 42:06Speaker 3: catch a lot of like slam flats on bootlegs. You're
- 42:09Speaker 3: gonna catch play action shallow drags and crossers, and I'm
- 42:12Speaker 3: just gonna scheme you open a couple checkdowns in the
- 42:15Speaker 3: passing game on third down, and next thing you know,
- 42:18Speaker 3: you look up at the scoreboard and you got like
- 42:19Speaker 3: four or five catches. I always looked around the league
- 42:22Speaker 3: and said, there's probably thirty guys in the league that
- 42:24Speaker 3: could have had those catches. There's nothing unique about your
- 42:27Speaker 3: route running. There's nothing unique about your separation skills, your leverage,
- 42:31Speaker 3: your chopping. There's nothing really unique other than you were
- 42:34Speaker 3: in that position and the play dictates you getting the ball.
- 42:38Speaker 3: The next level of guys right, the Kelsey's and the Kittles,
- 42:42Speaker 3: and you know Rock Bowers and now this next generation
- 42:45Speaker 3: Colston Lovelands, et cetera, et cetera. They then can go
- 42:49Speaker 3: above and beyond and they can be flexed out wide
- 42:51Speaker 3: like Colston Loveland and run like a fade, comeback to
- 42:55Speaker 3: the front corner on a defensive back for a critical
- 42:58Speaker 3: play on the left, on the front left corner of
- 43:00Speaker 3: the end zone. He can run separation sail routes and
- 43:03Speaker 3: pull away from safeties and track the ball in space
- 43:06Speaker 3: like Those are the guys that you want to find,
- 43:09Speaker 3: because yes, they'll catch a couple flats, they'll catch a
- 43:12Speaker 3: couple easy checks, a couple otbs. Those are trust me,
- 43:15Speaker 3: they all count. I caught a million of them. Can
- 43:18Speaker 3: you go above and beyond the play call? And when
- 43:21Speaker 3: it's just hey, you got this route and it's not
- 43:23Speaker 3: the perfect look and you got the wrong leverage of
- 43:26Speaker 3: the defender, can you flip that leverage? Can you separate?
- 43:28Speaker 3: How do you get in and out of the brakes?
- 43:30Speaker 3: How do you high point contested catches? Can you make
- 43:33Speaker 3: the plays that aren't just schemed open for you? Those
- 43:37Speaker 3: are the guys that are the top tier dudes, and
- 43:40Speaker 3: that that's Colson Lovelin. I thought that coming out of
- 43:43Speaker 3: college when they drafted them. Now we can make an
- 43:45Speaker 3: argument whether you draft a tight end ten or you know,
- 43:48Speaker 3: is it too high too low? But the bottom line
- 43:50Speaker 3: is the dude's stud and there's a handful of guys
- 43:54Speaker 3: in the league that can play both elements of NFL
- 43:57Speaker 3: tight end, and of all the young guys, he's one
- 43:59Speaker 3: of the.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Few when you alluded to it. But the the fake fade,
- 44:04Speaker 2: come back to the pylon, that was the two point play? Correct?
- 44:07Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 44:07Speaker 1: Yeah, the milk milk the milk check. Yeah, So which
- 44:10Speaker 1: is a milk on milk crime? Milk on milk crime,
- 44:13Speaker 1: that's heavy cream. Yeah, that's not any Yeah, it wasn't
- 44:16Speaker 1: fun to watch. But the minute that Chicago lines up
- 44:20Speaker 1: for a two point play and they're all condensed, you know,
- 44:22Speaker 1: big formation, they're in like jumbo package whatever, and they
- 44:25Speaker 1: break out into you know, whether it's an empty look
- 44:28Speaker 1: or three by one, whatever it was, and they broke
- 44:30Speaker 1: out and I saw thirty one, which people are saying
- 44:32Speaker 1: that was his only defensive play of the season. White guy,
- 44:35Speaker 1: White guy Guy thirty one jogs out there and I
- 44:38Speaker 1: see closon Loveland and when it breaks out, I was
- 44:41Speaker 1: sitting on my couch upstairs my bonus room, and I
- 44:43Speaker 1: just I set up on my couch and I just go,
- 44:45Speaker 1: oh no, because you know thirty one is also in Hell. Yeah,
- 44:49Speaker 1: thirty ones also in Hell, but nobody from the inside
- 44:51Speaker 1: is also starting to fade out there. Like usually when
- 44:53Speaker 1: you have some of those situations and maybe you're in
- 44:56Speaker 1: Cover one and man or rat and you're gonna have
- 44:57Speaker 1: a guy, whether it's steal somebody derneath whatever it is,
- 45:00Speaker 1: some safeties, you might be sitting out there like I've
- 45:02Speaker 1: been in those situations of where hey, if it breaks down,
- 45:04Speaker 1: you get this look the Deshaun Golston or Dante Whitner
- 45:09Speaker 1: look over, you know when game playing, like Hey, if
- 45:11Speaker 1: this happens, I'm gonna I'm going to I'm going to
- 45:14Speaker 1: lean towards your side to help you out. When I
- 45:16Speaker 1: saw that wasn't taking place in the Green Bay Secondary
- 45:19Speaker 1: and this dude was on his own, I was like, Oh,
- 45:21Speaker 1: this is a milk check right here. My boy's gonna
- 45:24Speaker 1: get got, and he got got, and I hated.
- 45:26Speaker 3: Every team should get in, every team should get an
- 45:28Speaker 3: additional timeout when random white guy, it gets caught and covered.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Here's what I'll say that.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Here's what I'll say that. That's so fair when I
- 45:37Speaker 3: first when I first came in the league. Maybe you
- 45:40Speaker 3: guys too, I think there were rules about that that
- 45:44Speaker 3: don't apply anymore, right like there were when we came
- 45:46Speaker 3: into the league. I'll never forget like there wasn't many.
- 45:49Speaker 3: But if there was a white guy in the secondary,
- 45:52Speaker 3: chances are you were going to go after him. But
- 45:55Speaker 3: I think the Cooper de Jeans of the world and those,
- 45:57Speaker 3: I think maybe those days are changing, right, Cooper Dejene
- 46:01Speaker 3: first team All Pro or maybe first or second team
- 46:03Speaker 3: All Pro, Like, you're not targeting that dude? What was
- 46:06Speaker 3: the other thing? Riley mossive ends?
- 46:09Speaker 2: What's that I said?
- 46:13Speaker 3: So maybe those maybe those rules don't necessarily apply like
- 46:16Speaker 3: they did years ago. Think of what every you know, Taylor,
- 46:19Speaker 3: you know every defensive end, every white defensive end earlier
- 46:23Speaker 3: in your career. What was the scouting report?
- 46:26Speaker 2: Uh, gritty, hard working effort guy. He's not going to stop.
- 46:29Speaker 2: So you got to stand on the whole time. This
- 46:31Speaker 2: guy he'll move right, he's.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Not going to run by you. Not gonna win with Yeah,
- 46:37Speaker 3: I don't know if that's necessarily the case anymore. Right,
- 46:39Speaker 3: You've had Hutchinson and you got Bosa, and you got
- 46:43Speaker 3: all these freaking dudes that are defying that old school adage.
- 46:47Speaker 3: So I don't know. I think I think we're moving
- 46:50Speaker 3: past uh slowly, very very slowly.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Or we're still we're still in the process to where
- 46:56Speaker 1: there's an exception to the rule, but the real universally
- 47:00Speaker 1: still getting close.
- 47:01Speaker 2: And well again, when I saw thirty one go out there,
- 47:03Speaker 2: I sat up and I was like, oh, no, it's over. Yeah,
- 47:07Speaker 2: it's over. And Greg, basically what you're saying is what
- 47:09Speaker 2: we've been saying for the last couple of years, is
- 47:12Speaker 2: we might be up. White boys were kind of making
- 47:16Speaker 2: a comeback in the secondary, and that's that's a massive.
- 47:19Speaker 1: They would have had to have thirty one, would have
- 47:21Speaker 1: had to have made it very competitive for Loveland to
- 47:24Speaker 1: catch that football.
- 47:24Speaker 2: But it's to be like, we're seeing a good competitive
- 47:27Speaker 2: But as we've already identified, that's a heavy cream play. Yeah,
- 47:29Speaker 2: that's that's yeah.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a white on white there. That's a tough matchup.
- 47:34Speaker 3: But the point is there's very few tight ends in
- 47:37Speaker 3: the league that are going to go out and run
- 47:39Speaker 3: like I call those like he's running real routes. Right,
- 47:42Speaker 3: there's a difference between running routes and running real routes.
- 47:45Speaker 3: And that was a real route, and multiple times throughout
- 47:47Speaker 3: the game he's running real routes. He's tracking the ball
- 47:50Speaker 3: twenty plus yards down the field in the air, downfield
- 47:53Speaker 3: passing game like that is there's a difference. Not all
- 47:58Speaker 3: catches are the same, they get counted the same, but
- 48:01Speaker 3: anyone who watches it and knows it, they're not all
- 48:03Speaker 3: equal in difficulty and equal in ability and what you
- 48:07Speaker 3: need to be able to do. And oh, buddy, he's
- 48:10Speaker 3: a he's a stud.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Now, buddy, it's like you know, you're you're in the
- 48:13Speaker 1: milk section at the grocery store. There's a difference between
- 48:15Speaker 1: our granted gat grass fed whole milk and the two
- 48:18Speaker 1: percent or the skim milk by Prayer Farm sitting at
- 48:21Speaker 1: the end. Yeah, there's just there's levels too, There's there's
- 48:24Speaker 1: definite levels.
- 48:24Speaker 3: Well, I'm not just saying he's good for a white guy.
- 48:26Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, but listen, right, we know
- 48:29Speaker 2: we all know what it's like.
- 48:30Speaker 3: When did you see when the culture comes down? Show?
- 48:34Speaker 2: Well, what do you what do you do?
- 48:36Speaker 3: You never saw his Rocky Town show?
- 48:38Speaker 1: No?
- 48:38Speaker 2: What happened?
- 48:39Speaker 3: Did you ever see Aiden Hutchinson? Do Michael Jackson?
- 48:42Speaker 2: Yes, no, you're saying that. Do you see it? Yeah?
- 48:45Speaker 3: Someny idea what I'm talking about?
- 48:46Speaker 2: Hutch out there dancing on every commercial he's on.
- 48:48Speaker 3: So, yeah, hutch So we got to start evaluating these
- 48:51Speaker 3: guys like the first they should at the combine. They
- 48:55Speaker 3: should have these guys get up and say like, all right,
- 48:58Speaker 3: you just got drafted, get up in front of the
- 48:59Speaker 3: team room and show me. Because Hutchinson was awesome. I
- 49:02Speaker 3: think he did, like Billy Jean great, turned out to
- 49:05Speaker 3: be a great player. Colson Lovelin saying some I can't
- 49:11Speaker 3: remember off the top of my head. It was excellent,
- 49:13Speaker 3: like standing ovation excellent. So I think the signs were
- 49:17Speaker 3: there early that he was going to be a good player.
- 49:19Speaker 2: We've all all three of us have been in a
- 49:22Speaker 2: moment where it's whether it's college or high school. For me,
- 49:25Speaker 2: it was college. When you come up the culture comes
- 49:27Speaker 2: up to you and be like, hey, you're pretty X,
- 49:29Speaker 2: Y and Z for a white guy forty nine ers
- 49:31Speaker 2: in the Eagles, Man, I feel like this the Eagles
- 49:33Speaker 2: is a perfect segment for our uh our tastes of
- 49:36Speaker 2: the offseason, cause the Eagles have had ups and downs
- 49:40Speaker 2: all year and there's always been this. They'll get it
- 49:43Speaker 2: figured out. They'll get it, don't worry. They have so
- 49:45Speaker 2: much talent on their roster. Look at their defense and
- 49:47Speaker 2: how great they are. They got two number ones at
- 49:49Speaker 2: wide receiver. They got Saquon Barkley, Thatt Dallas Goddard in
- 49:51Speaker 2: the back, who's a top five tight end, top ten
- 49:54Speaker 2: at the very least. And then they fumble the back
- 49:58Speaker 2: against a team that loses jor which Kittle Early Williams
- 50:02Speaker 2: is playing injured. They have a bunch of guys just
- 50:05Speaker 2: riddled with injuries and they fall. Is it finally time
- 50:08Speaker 2: that we can just sit there and admit, hey, there
- 50:10Speaker 2: was an issue taking place behind closed doors with the Eagles.
- 50:14Speaker 2: We'll all start with you.
- 50:15Speaker 1: You already know my stats. I don't got to admit nothing.
- 50:18Speaker 1: I sat there as bad as box. And there's a
- 50:20Speaker 1: reason that every time I came out with the top
- 50:22Speaker 1: five in the AFC and top five in the NFC,
- 50:24Speaker 1: the Eagles barely sniffed it because it was always gonna
- 50:28Speaker 1: be one and done in my head, it was always
- 50:31Speaker 1: like they have an elite defense, so Fangio and what
- 50:34Speaker 1: they do defensively, you know they're going to be in games.
- 50:37Speaker 2: And that went.
- 50:37Speaker 1: It was sitting there, the group chats were firing up
- 50:39Speaker 1: and everything else to where Orlowski was like massive drive
- 50:42Speaker 1: for this group chat. Because Jalen Hurts had the ball
- 50:44Speaker 1: as a two minute drive, they were in position to
- 50:47Speaker 1: go down there and win this game. But all year long,
- 50:49Speaker 1: you've seen what's come out of that camp as far
- 50:52Speaker 1: as what's going on internally and everything else, to where
- 50:54Speaker 1: you knew there were things going on offensively to where
- 50:58Speaker 1: this team ain't built to win Super Bowl this year.
- 51:00Speaker 1: They had an incredible year last year. They have a
- 51:03Speaker 1: lot of great talent on that roster even this year,
- 51:05Speaker 1: like they're going to be fine in the future. But
- 51:07Speaker 1: I feel like you're really you're able to dial in
- 51:10Speaker 1: more of whether it's offensive creativity. There's so many things
- 51:13Speaker 1: that went on offensively for the Philadelphia Eagles that the
- 51:16Speaker 1: optimism is it's more glaring than ever because it's not like,
- 51:20Speaker 1: oh what about when we beat the Rams, Oh what
- 51:22Speaker 1: about when we beat the Buccaneers, And oh what about
- 51:24Speaker 1: when we beat all these good teams that they did
- 51:26Speaker 1: beat in the regular season. But I feel like anybody
- 51:28Speaker 1: who's who was diving in which I feel like a
- 51:31Speaker 1: lot of us were. But it was hard to just
- 51:33Speaker 1: say this team is a pig with lipstick, this team
- 51:37Speaker 1: is everything else, because again, they were continuing to win
- 51:39Speaker 1: games in the NFC East, which wasn't a very good
- 51:42Speaker 1: division this year. But the fact that they did go
- 51:44Speaker 1: one and done against a Niners team who's been ridden
- 51:46Speaker 1: with injuries and you lose kittle early and you're kind
- 51:49Speaker 1: of like it was a tight game. It's like, are
- 51:50Speaker 1: they gonna come out of this and survive this game?
- 51:53Speaker 1: But the fact that they did lose it, it was
- 51:56Speaker 1: one of those things like, yeah, this riding was on
- 51:58Speaker 1: the wall basically all your life long. We just had
- 52:01Speaker 1: to kind of sit in the pocket because they were
- 52:03Speaker 1: again they were coming out with double with wins, with
- 52:06Speaker 1: w's in the win column, and even though it was
- 52:08Speaker 1: happening through field goal blocks and everything else, like they're
- 52:12Speaker 1: a very good roster and a very good football team,
- 52:14Speaker 1: but it was it was like I'm sitting there, you know,
- 52:17Speaker 1: at the end of the game. I was kind of
- 52:18Speaker 1: sitting there with a smile, on my face like clumps,
- 52:20Speaker 1: like I'm surprised you're being so nice to me this
- 52:21Speaker 1: morning with the Eagles losing. I'm like, bro, it was
- 52:23Speaker 1: like it's it was more of like we knew this
- 52:27Speaker 1: was coming. It was going to be, just when was
- 52:29Speaker 1: it going to happen? Was it going to be in
- 52:30Speaker 1: the first game of the playoffs when if they had
- 52:32Speaker 1: home games and kind of had like maybe an easier
- 52:34Speaker 1: stretch get to the championship game. But in no part
- 52:37Speaker 1: of my mind that I think this team was going
- 52:39Speaker 1: to be built to win a Super Bowl this year.
- 52:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, I think it's well said. I don't debate,
- 52:45Speaker 3: I don't push back on anything you just said. I
- 52:48Speaker 3: The only thing I would add is I've said probably
- 52:50Speaker 3: on the show a hundred times, and I'm like, I
- 52:53Speaker 3: do believe you never give up on talent to some regard, right,
- 52:56Speaker 3: because when you look at that roster and you factor
- 52:59Speaker 3: in that of the twenty two, the dichotomy of the
- 53:01Speaker 3: two teams, everything San Francisco has been through, and the
- 53:04Speaker 3: guys that are sitting up in suites and sitting in
- 53:06Speaker 3: the press box and standing on the sideline of street
- 53:09Speaker 3: clothes that are like Marquee star players. And then when
- 53:13Speaker 3: you look at Philadelphia, only Lane Johnson, twenty one of
- 53:16Speaker 3: their twenty two first game Week one starters were healthy,
- 53:20Speaker 3: ready to rock in that lineup, like that was the healthiest,
- 53:25Speaker 3: arguably the best, you know, one of the top two
- 53:27Speaker 3: or three rosters in the league. And for the most part,
- 53:29Speaker 3: their top line guys were all there, with the exception
- 53:31Speaker 3: of Lane. So there's no question that's an underachievement, right,
- 53:36Speaker 3: There's no question that getting knocked out by a team
- 53:40Speaker 3: at you know, losing a game at home, a team
- 53:42Speaker 3: San Francisco. Albeit they still got Purty, they still got McCaffrey,
- 53:45Speaker 3: they got you know, two of the best coaches in
- 53:47Speaker 3: the league in Shanahan and and Solos. I mean, they
- 53:49Speaker 3: still got stars. But that team is decimated. That defense
- 53:53Speaker 3: that they played against, that they couldn't score in the
- 53:55Speaker 3: second half against, was playing guys that weren't on the
- 53:57Speaker 3: team three weeks ago. I mean, they're down to like
- 54:00Speaker 3: linebacker five, six, you know what. Like, it's remarkable what
- 54:05Speaker 3: San Francisco was gonna do. And at the same time,
- 54:08Speaker 3: there's no question it's under achievement. There's gonna be change,
- 54:11Speaker 3: It's not gonna be Sirianni, and I don't I agree
- 54:14Speaker 3: that he's he should not go. I mean, he's won
- 54:16Speaker 3: more than maybe anybody in history.
- 54:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a starter to me.
- 54:23Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a non starter to me. But they'll be
- 54:25Speaker 3: they'll be staff changes for sure, especially on offense.
- 54:28Speaker 2: Yeah. The the a lot of things that are getting
- 54:31Speaker 2: me by surprise is people calling for Laflour's.
- 54:33Speaker 3: Job right now, and and yeah, that's so stupid.
- 54:36Speaker 2: I think it's I think it's wild to even go
- 54:38Speaker 2: down that road. And uh, who was it? Coward? He
- 54:44Speaker 2: he brought up a great point. It's like Packers fans
- 54:46Speaker 2: don't understand, like the last thirty years, you've had Brett
- 54:49Speaker 2: Farv and Aaron Rodgers, and you've got two Super Bowls
- 54:52Speaker 2: and then one and one other appearance. You've been in
- 54:53Speaker 2: the Super Bowl three times in those thirty years, and
- 54:56Speaker 2: you're calling for his head already like they had injuries.
- 54:59Speaker 2: You can make it all. Michael Parsons plays in that game.
- 55:01Speaker 2: And it's I just think that trying to get crazy.
- 55:05Speaker 3: So to that point, let me ask you guys this,
- 55:07Speaker 3: say today Lafleur was let go, who becomes immediately the
- 55:13Speaker 3: number one coaching candidate in this hiring.
- 55:15Speaker 2: Cycle immediately one. It's tough because Harball Harbo is also
- 55:19Speaker 2: in there. So it's so you don't think it's close.
- 55:23Speaker 3: No, No, I think it's I'm not arguing that it's
- 55:24Speaker 3: not close. I think John Harbo is a phenomenal coach.
- 55:26Speaker 3: I'm not debating that. You know how I feel about
- 55:28Speaker 3: the guy calling the plays? Yeah, I think that becomes
- 55:33Speaker 3: an extra check. All right, I think you look at you,
- 55:37Speaker 3: look at Philip, Just look at Philadelphia. Look since Nick
- 55:40Speaker 3: Sirianni took over, he originally called plays, gave it up
- 55:42Speaker 3: the Shane Steiken. They go to the Super Bowl, they lose.
- 55:47Speaker 3: Stiking gets hired as the head coach of Indianapolis. He
- 55:50Speaker 3: brings in Brian Johnson, They have a regression, he gets fired.
- 55:54Speaker 3: They bring in Kellen Moore, They have incredible success, they
- 55:57Speaker 3: win the Super Bowl. He gets a head job. Now
- 56:00Speaker 3: they promote Kevin Petullo. So since Nick Sirianni took over,
- 56:04Speaker 3: he had himself stiching Brian Johnson, Kellen Moore, Kevin Petullo.
- 56:09Speaker 3: He's about to have his sixth offensive play caller. Yeah,
- 56:14Speaker 3: it's not sustainable. Nobody has lost more coaches than Sean McVay.
- 56:19Speaker 3: But guess who calls the plays Sean McVay every day.
- 56:23Speaker 3: The only guy that's called plays for Matthew Stafford when
- 56:26Speaker 3: all these guys are leaving and all these guys are
- 56:28Speaker 3: getting interviews and he's gonna lose multiple guys this year,
- 56:31Speaker 3: but you never lose him. So again, I'm not saying
- 56:34Speaker 3: John Hobbroll is not a phenomenal coach. His track record,
- 56:36Speaker 3: his record, all that speaks for itself. I'm just saying,
- 56:40Speaker 3: if you have success, which you plan on having, what
- 56:45Speaker 3: is your answer to replacing your play caller over and
- 56:49Speaker 3: over and over again.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Right, It's a phenomenal point, it really is, because there's
- 56:53Speaker 1: gonna It's like you can you can say that and
- 56:55Speaker 1: then also say, yeah, you know, coach Will floor in
- 56:57Speaker 1: the stat is going to look back at how they
- 56:59Speaker 1: went about everything in the second half. Maybe it's aggressive
- 57:02Speaker 1: play calling, whatever it is, but that's something that you
- 57:04Speaker 1: can learn from, fix and get better at because you
- 57:07Speaker 1: still have the foundation that's there, which is being coach lafluur.
- 57:10Speaker 2: Yeah, An, you have a great roster, like your roster
- 57:13Speaker 2: coming back next year is.
- 57:14Speaker 1: Oh, Jordan Love's a beast Like you mentioned Farv and
- 57:16Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers. Jordan Love, Jordan Love is a monster, like
- 57:19Speaker 1: he is good, and you look at the development again
- 57:22Speaker 1: even to coach Lafluur, like you know, fighting for Coachel Ffur,
- 57:26Speaker 1: But look at what happens when you lose Jordan Love
- 57:28Speaker 1: for a few games and you got Malik Willis coming in,
- 57:31Speaker 1: Like what was his reputation when he got the green band?
- 57:33Speaker 1: And look how this dude performs and operates even when
- 57:36Speaker 1: your superstar quarterback is not there.
- 57:38Speaker 2: Just to speak of Malik Willis's development, like I was
- 57:40Speaker 2: with him his first year at the Tennessee Titans, and
- 57:43Speaker 2: the dude didn't know the place, he didn't know the checks,
- 57:46Speaker 2: he didn't know where to go, like, and he was
- 57:48Speaker 2: very clear and obvious, which ended up how you let
- 57:50Speaker 2: him go and you see him come in now, it's
- 57:52Speaker 2: like that is a product of Yeah, Matt Lafluur. Yeah,
- 57:56Speaker 2: And that's just it shows how much he does for quarterbacks.
- 57:59Speaker 2: And I love the take on the play call because
- 58:01Speaker 2: you're absolutely right. It's great to have like a CEO
- 58:03Speaker 2: type that can handle like Siriana can clearly handle the personalities.
- 58:07Speaker 2: I know him an age. I had a little back
- 58:08Speaker 2: and forth in this last game. But he handles personalities
- 58:11Speaker 2: really well, which is a big thing for a head coach.
- 58:13Speaker 2: But having when people leave and your you're the product
- 58:17Speaker 2: you put on the field doesn't change because your your
- 58:19Speaker 2: ability to take on things that's unbelievable. That's what you want, right.
- 58:23Speaker 3: And we said this about about your boy Frae bol
- 58:26Speaker 3: when I called their game in Week eighteen against the Dolphins.
- 58:30Speaker 3: This is just my opinion. If you gave me a
- 58:32Speaker 3: magic wand and I was an owner and I got
- 58:34Speaker 3: to hire my staff, my number one would go out
- 58:36Speaker 3: and find you at McVeigh Shanahana, Liam Cohen, an offensive
- 58:39Speaker 3: mind who also can communicate and lead and coach the
- 58:42Speaker 3: entire locker room and not just call plays right, Like,
- 58:45Speaker 3: I don't want a play caller as my head coach.
- 58:48Speaker 3: I want a head coach who's a play caller.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:52Speaker 3: The second best option is vverybel right, verbel ceo type,
- 58:56Speaker 3: highly organized, has been there before, has had success. You
- 58:59Speaker 3: saw handle the end of that game last week. Because
- 59:01Speaker 3: he's not in the headset having to make every single
- 59:05Speaker 3: schematic call, right, He's letting coordinators call. He's managing the game,
- 59:09Speaker 3: managing the managers, The advantage that he has, especially on
- 59:13Speaker 3: the offensive side of the ball, where it really matters,
- 59:16Speaker 3: is he has like the bounce pack former head coach
- 59:20Speaker 3: play caller in Josh McDaniels. That's a very unique standpoint
- 59:24Speaker 3: where Drake May is a potential MVP candidate and Josh
- 59:28Speaker 3: McDaniels is most likely not going to interview for a job.
- 59:31Speaker 3: So if you can get like the former head coach
- 59:34Speaker 3: who's kind of had his opportunities and now he's bounced back,
- 59:37Speaker 3: that's Andy Reid with Steve Spagnola, right. For all the
- 59:40Speaker 3: success that Andy Reid has had, only Matt Nagy has
- 59:44Speaker 3: really gotten an opportunity to be a head coach, unless
- 59:46Speaker 3: I'm forgetting somebody, yeah on the offensive sideas on the
- 59:51Speaker 3: off and then Spags, who's been the architect of that defense,
- 59:54Speaker 3: which I would argue is the only reason they had
- 59:56Speaker 3: that long sustainability because the offense started the fall. Spag's
- 59:59Speaker 3: got those young defensive guys and took them back to
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: the Super Bowl in year one. Spags interviews. But does
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: anyone really think Spags is going to get a head
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: coaching job right? Right?
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: He could, so, do you think is it way more?
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: Is it way more offensive than defensive in your opinion,
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: as far as I play at the calling of the
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: plays goes.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: I just think it's easier to find defensive coaches. I
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: think defensive coordinators and former defensive head coaches get fired
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: more frequently and they're just available, right, I mean, you
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: look around the league at guys. I mean just let's
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: just look at this playoff cycle. In just this season,
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: you got Robert Sala, he just become the forty nine
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: Ers defense really struggles last year and Robert Sala becomes available.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: The year before that, Steve Wilkes, former head coach, was available. Yeah,
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: you know, you look at Vic Fangio, former head coach
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: was at the Dolphins. Somehow the Dolphins let him walk
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: and he just becomes magically available. Is when they flores. Uh,
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: you know, it's just Jonathan Gannon now becomes you know,
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: he took that first year that the the first year
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: that Philadelphia went to the Super Bowl that they lost
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: to Kansas City. Shane Stiking got the job in Indy,
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: and Jonathan Gannon, who is the dee coordinator in Philly,
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: he got the head job in Arizona. He just got fired,
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: so he's gonna be someone's decordinator. You just go on
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: and on and on. I think I'm not saying defensive
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: coordinators is easy. But Mike McDonald has had incredible success
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: in two years and he's about to hire his most
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: likely Kubiak is going to get ahead job. And now
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: in two years he's gonna have After two years, he's
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: gonna have to have three different coordinators. Yeah, yeah, right, grubs.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Grubs made it one year. He fired him because he
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: didn't like it. He went back to college. Gets Clint Kubiak,
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: who's just available because they all got canned in in
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: the st in New Orleans, and he has a great year.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: It lasted one year.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: He's gotta go find a new guy.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: Yeah, how about Ben Johnson. He's got Dennis Allen.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: I was gonna say Dennis Allen's another one.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: You can just go on and on and on. Right, Like,
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: there's just more of the veteran defensive guys to become
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: coordinators than there are offensive guys, because chances are if
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: those guys are probably still head coaches somewhere.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Ye, let me ask you think Josh Allen in this
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Buffalo Bills team, he's going to get over this hurdle
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: of having to travel to Denver and face this defense.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I'd rather play Denver than At this point,
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: I think I'd rather play if I'm Josh, If I'm
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: Josh Allen, I as good as Denver's defense is. I
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: think if I had to pick, I'd rather play Denver
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: and Denver than New England in New England, right, I
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: think I think that that's a better matchup. So I
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: think them going in the divisional round to Denver. I
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: think I'm on Buffalo. I said, all right, I can
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: do this. I mean, am I sitting here saying they're
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: going to guarantee? I don't know? I still I I've
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: said all year giving up on Josh Allen. Ever, I
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: don't care what the roster looks like. I don't care
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: what their game flow looks like, the defense, did they
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: have any weapons? They got Josh Allen and he is
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: a generationally talented, unique, not just quarterback, just all around
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: football player. And you, I mean you saw it clear
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: as day yesterday.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, Josh Allen, dude, he is He's truly one
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: of one. Like if he's on the Jaguars roster, he
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: that game is it's a blowout. It's an absolute blowout
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: that takes place. And that's that I feel like people
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: that would say old Trevor Lawrence like, now, I'm not
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: trying to disrespect Trevor Warence. I'm trying to give massive
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: flowers to Josh Allen because that's the scary thing about
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: this Bills team is you can run on them. They
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: have the number one pass defense, which is great, but
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: you can run on them very easily. Their wide receiving
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: crew is probably a bottom five wide receiving crew in
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: the NFL. Gave Davis just gets hurt yesterday on a
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: hit that it seemed like he I know this is
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: an allegedly, but it looks like he had another big
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: massive knee injury and had to get helped off the
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: field card to the locker room. So they're decimated once
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: again in that and in that position group. But Josh dude,
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: he has the ability at any point to put the
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: cape on and run through anyone. He can be anybody.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: And this is Bowenickx's first time walking into a playoff situation,
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: regardless if it's at home or not, like that pressure
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: is different. You see it with Drake May a little
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: bit with the score of that game, like, he played well,
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: but it wasn't like, you know, throwing points on the
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: board over and over again. So I could definitely see
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: Josh Allen going into Denver YEA and catching them in
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: a bit of a lull. I don't know how how
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: old that team is, but just knowing that their quarterback
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: is in his second year in the NFL like that
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: gives me a lot of room for pause, thinking like,
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: Josh Allen really has the easiest path he has had
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: ever to make it to the super Bowl. Yeah, the
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: Denver's defense is for real. They are for real.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: Their defense is for real, there's no question. And Sean
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: Payton can coach his ass off on offense. Yeah, listen,
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: I'm not saying any of you get to the divisional rounds.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: There's no such thing as an easy matchup. There's no
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: such thing as a good matchup. There's some that are
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: better than others on paper. So yeah, I mean I think, yeah,
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: I could go on and on about how good Josh Allen.
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: I mean, look at what Brandon Cooks did. Brandon Cooks
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: wasn't even on the roster a couple of weeks ago,
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: and he had to play the day. He kept their
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: season alive with that long explosive down the middle that's
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: set up the end of the game. What's crazy, you
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: know the touch push and all that.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: What's crazy is that touch push you brought up like
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: the Bills were on the side of banning the touch
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: post last year was iron and then they ran it
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: for what six six yards? Yeah, that was unbelievable, unreal
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: to the point where like they didn't score it on
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: I think of myself, that's actually a really good thing.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: They didn't score. They probably took time off the clock.
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: But it's like that was insane that you were able
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: to do that just now. But also like the Jaguars
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: and Will, I gotta give Will out of credit because
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: you know, I think it was early, like middle September.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: He's like, bro, I'm telling you the Jaguars are a
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: sneaky team, and me and my Tennessee Titans brain is like, no,
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: they're not, and you watched that game and we aren't.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: That's with the wide receivers. But every time the wide
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: receivers caught the ball, they're getting tackled immediately open space,
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: the first guys bringing them down like they are an
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: extremely well coached football team, and I think where they
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: lost it was getting into the past a little too
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: much with Trevor Lawrence, who clearly was having a non
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: momentum type of day. Like their momentum was clearly on
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: the run game.
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: Yeah, and that defense now is serious, They're good. Yeah,
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: Josh Allen's just a.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, unreal. And you know it's like you're sitting there.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: We got to watch so many good games, so many
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: lead changes, and when Jacksonville took the ball, it's like,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: all right, this is this can be like a Trevor
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Lawrence legacy game. And to see the ball hit the hands,
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: get tipped up and get picked off on that first.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: First it's a heartbreak and then everyone's everyone's gonna put
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: that on Trevor Lawrence. But it's like yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: yeah yeah.
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: And I'm just glad it didn't backfire on Buffalo because
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: I think they would have taken some heat for how
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: they handled that goal line situation.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: Yeah right, you you take as much time off the
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: clock as again because they had all their timeouts.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: Right, yeah, so Jacksonville had all their time out, Well no,
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: Jacksonville only had no Jacksonville was out of timeouts. Jacksonville
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: took their last time out on the tush push that
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: originally was ruled a touchdown. Then they ruled correctly that
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: he was down short of the goal line. Instead of
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: taking a ten second run off, Jacksonville elected to use
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: their final timeout. So there was like a minute and
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: two and they were out of timeouts, and the broadcast
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: talked about it, and everyone's sitting at home. It's like,
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: you know, you saw I Vrabel do it a couple
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: weeks earlier in the season, took a knee slash, like
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: just fall down. Yeah, you know, I'm first down. Jacksonville
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: is going to let you score, right, so can you
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: take Can you just fall down and leave it and
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: say I got second goal, third goal, fourth and goal
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: even at Jacksonville. Now, once you run that first play
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: and you run the play clock down, now Jacksonville's going
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: to try to have a goal line stand because their
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: opportunity of possessing the ball now.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: Is a right.
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: Buffalo had timeout, so they could have still run time
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: out and handled the end of the game. So fortunately
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: for them, it didn't matter trying to run off another
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: thirty seconds, thirty to forty seconds. It's probably the right move.
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: But again, we judge all of these decisions by the outcome,
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: and when the outcome goes your way, nobody talks about
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: the decision. And that's just the nature of the business.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's bro Could you imagine if they took
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: that approach where they kind of just fall down, take
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: thirty or forty seconds off to call a timeout, and
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: then go for it, you know, two three times, don't
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: get it and get stopped. The conversation we would be
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: happening right now. That's the postgame press game press conference now. Yeah,
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: and that's a perfect example of like having the stones
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: to do that. I don't think head coach is thinking
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: that at that moment. They're probably just thinking score.
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: No.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: Yeah, No, I don't think McDermott. I think McDermott seriously
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: considered doing it. I think if again, it's easy to
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: sit here now and say could have, should have. The
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: part that's hard to predict is you anticipate on first
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: down that Jacksonville is going to say, let them score.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: But what you don't want is say they don't. Say
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: they blow up your center and you try to take
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: a knee and Josh Allen gets knocked back and now
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: instead of first and goal at the half yard line,
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: it's first and goal at the yard and a half two.
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: Say you lose a yard. Now you're like, holy shit,
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: it's second and goal from the two, and now Jacksonville
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: hunkers down. So like I think, there's always that fear
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: in the back of your head. It's just a lot
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: easier to say we scored, we gave them the ball.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: I trust my defense, and if they go down to
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: kick a game tying field goal or god forbid, a touchdown,
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: you stand there and say, hey, man, our defense has
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: to play better. We got to do a better job
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: in two minutes. Blah blah, blah blah blah. That's an
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: easier conversation. People are more comfortable. We've seen that happen
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: a million times. Could you imagine to your point of
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: blowing first and goal at the half because you got cute,
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: that fear is real?
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Yeah, now that's a that's a good like. I could
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: see that being a Friday Friday tape. Friday tape going
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: over a certain situations, because another one that I was
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: hitting Greg on was I want to say it was
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: the was it the Niners?
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: Niners?
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: They were up by four they scored, they went and
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: kicked the extra point, and I'm like, hey, you go
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: for two there, right, like it was in the fourth quarter, Like,
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: you go for two there to try and make it
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: six instead of four because you're kind of in no
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: man's land with four four and five point lead. Try
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: and go for two and make it six because you
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: number one, just in the hopes of seeing you know,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: if the Eagles were to score missing the extra point.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: But you also witnessed the Eagles missing an extra point
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: earlier in.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: That game that was one.
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: Yeah, so that's actually a fun one. So you guys
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: want to dive into that because it's actually a fun conversation. Okay, Yeah,
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: in that situation, the kicker had already missed an extra point.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: He had missed multiple extra points all season long that
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: specific moment that team, Yes, I think I would have
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: tried to go up by six instead. If you score
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: a touchdown on me, I'll hope that you yank the
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: extra point again and at least gives me a chance. Right,
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: if I'm up five, your kicker, you know, his kick
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: doesn't have any real bearing on winning and losing. Yeah,
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: the next level to that conversation, so put that aside
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: for a second, because I agree with will put that aside.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: The next conversation is a little bit more in depth,
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: and this is where the argument of kicking to stay
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: up five because you don't want to be up four.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: Being up fives better than being up four. So the guy,
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: let's say he makes the extra point, right, The notion
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: comes down to do you feel more comfortable getting a
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: two point conversion or stopping a two point conversion? Right?
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: Because when I go up five, everyone goes, well, you
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: want to be up The argument for kicking the extra
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: point is, well, I want to be up five because
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: of them up four. Now your touchdown puts you up three.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: If you go down and score, I mean you go
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: up three now field point put yeah, field goal ties
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: the game. Okay, but if but if I but if
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: I'm up five and you score, you're gonna go for
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: two to try to go up three. Anyway, so you're
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: either gonna be up one or three. Yeah, So do
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: you want to defend a two point? Do you want
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: to kick two? Do you want to go for a
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: two point? Defend a two points? So that one there
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: is some layers, but uh, there's.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: A lot to it.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: Yeah, Like you're making the decision to just kick the
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: extra point because it's like, hey, if we go for
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: this two point conversion fail and we're still only up four,
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: their extra point puts us puts them up three. Do
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: we want to yeah, do we want to defend? We
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: feel good about defending an extra point versus stopping them
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: on a two point conversion correct a lot of so
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: many layers. Another situation too, and I Green Bay into
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: the game when the driving and their offensive lineman goes down,
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: you got you gotta get off the field.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: And who knows what his injury was, but unless you're done,
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: I remember I the cart's gotta come out or you
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: gotta be dead. We were playing Tampa.
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: We were playing Tampa one year and William Golston, who
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: I have a lot of history with, he like after
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: that at the end of play, kind of like flips
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: me over his shoulder and elbows me in the in
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: the testicles, and I'm like rolling around the ground and
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: I'm I'm I'm not realizing it's not it's not competing
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: my brain that you're in four minute. You have to
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: get up right now, and they blow the whistle, they
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: come out my no, no, I just got hitting the ball,
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: so I run over to the sideline, and Vrabel tore
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: me apart about that in team meetings where it's like,
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: no matter what, unless there's a bone out, you need
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: to like not have that clock stop at that point.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: Right right right, Yeah, that is like the conversation that
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: coaches are telling you, like you better the stretch, or
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: something better be happening, you better be dead, or some
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: massive situations.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: You know that take it to run off like you'd
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: always play like what could have, should have what could
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: have happened. It's like, I think there's a really strong
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: chance the Packers win that game.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: Then possibly, but they're just again, they're they're able to
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: to operate a little bit with just knowing you got
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: ten extra seconds on the clock.
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: Yes, exactly whether or not they score.
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: It's like every backup everybody has to be so in
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: tune and where if you do have a situation like
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: that my man's crawling off the feel, they're yelling, their
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: cheering for him to get off on the sideline, the
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: backup better be ready to just to sprint in. That's
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: the entire operation of everything that, like Verbel definitely teaches
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: and coaches, but everybody being so dialed in, in tune
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: and prepared for a game so that way you can
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: manage the game to the best of your ability. Because
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: it sucks that he got hurt, but you gotta find
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: a way to get off that field, or you jog
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: down just to survive a spy, whatever it is. You
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: just gotta find it. You can't you can't stay late,
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: you can't stay laid up on the ground. And then
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: when I saw him walk off, I'm like, oh, he
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: just that's that's you can't have that. You can't have it, dude, Miami.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: Killing it.
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: You did it National Championship and you right out.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: There for the game. That was fun. Yeah. I went
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: out there just for the quick up and back and
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: it was.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: It was awesome, dude. I mean, crystal ball the whole thing.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: The conversation were having a couple weeks ago about I
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: just can't believe that Miami, who what they finished third
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: in the a SEC. Yeah, has just just been doing it, man.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: And I literally had to get into the dance bro.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: I was on ESPN and Greeney looked at me and
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: he goes, it's two minutes left in the game. Carson
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: Beck has the ball in his hands. They have to
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: score to win a touchdown? What happens and I go ole,
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: miss will go to the national championship. If that is happening,
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: I basically kind of just throw Carson Carson Beck under
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: the bus and it only to see him do that
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: exact situation and put it in my.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: Face and around because it was it was the perfect
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: I want to say, maybe there was three minutes left
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: because me, JP and clumb are sitting up there, I'm like,
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: this is Carson Beck's got the ball. This is what
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: we went over, is essentially what we went over to
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: get up earlier that day, earlier that day.
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: And I'm happy for him. Man, it's uh, it's been
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: a fun ride, and I hope they can pull it
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: off one more.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: You going to the last one?
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: Yeah, we're gonna take the family down. We're gonna let's
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: go down.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: You just tell him don't upload anything to the cloud.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: Have you been seeing that?
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: No?
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: Does that mean there's there's like whispers and rumors and
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: allegedly that Indiana has like an advanced Connor Stallion's operation
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: going on.
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: Oh oh yeah, Oh I thought you were talking about
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: something different.
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: My kids told me about that. I don't buy it.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: It's like it's like hacking into comms. A lot of things,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: like stuff to upload with the cloud. Like there's a lot,
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: there's a conspiracy and people are tying it. Mark Cuban,
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: he's an owner of Catapult, the GPS system that basically
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: the majority of teams use, and when that data gets uploaded.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: A lot of stuff going on. I'm not saying it's truth.
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: I'm not saying it out of that all right, what
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: do you think Miami's chances are?
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: Like?
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: Are you right now? The line is? I think seven
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: and a half. Indiana's favored by seven and a half
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: points the last time I looked at it. How do
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: you How do you feel we got all the momentum?
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: I don't think you do it.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Did you see that ass whooping Big Netty put.
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: On all the momentum? We got all the momentum.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: Boys, it's oh, it's eight and a half favorite now,
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: so Indiana is going to eight and a half even better?
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: Is it?
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: Now? They're going to lose their momentum beause they're getting
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: high on themselves.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: Yeah, they're flying a little too close to the sun,
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: like the Rams almost did against Carolina.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: All Right, Greg, you're the man, bro.
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: Thank you for taking rock. All right, man, I'll talk

- 1:18:05Speaker 2: I don't know if you guys have noticed. It's twenty
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: twenty six and I'm going through a bit of a
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: change when it comes to my apparel. I've a kind
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: of I'm starting to ease back from the tight, super
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: tight fitted pants and I'm getting on into a relaxed fit. Now.
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: This is the relaxed fit True Classic gene. It might

- 1:18:35Speaker 2: Oh hey, yeah, have you been seeing it? You've had
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: to have seen it. Yeah, I've seen it, but he
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: didn't say it back. I know, did you see it?
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: Have you seen it?
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: I saw Carson back. Have you guys been seeing it? Well,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: the stuff coming out with not coming out like it's truth,
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: but the stuff that's going.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: We were texting about that, weren't we on Saturday? Yeah? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: I did see like I think it was Friday or
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: something like that. Like I saw like an account that
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: I it was like Indian has an advanced scouting Connor
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: Stallion's kind of taking place. And I went to the
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: account and the account had like three and a half
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: thousand followers, and I was like, this to me, isn't enough.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: There's more accounts. I will say, whispers have been there,
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: but more underground. This was the first weekend to where
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: I feel like you profile like people out there are
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: talking about it in a louder with a louder voice,
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: And again, I have no fucking clue. I'm not because
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: I've loved the fantasy about like talking with all the
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: Indiana fans, seeing what they've done, how they flipped and
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: turned the program around and potentially starting at a sixteen
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: and o season. I think we sleep on the fact
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: that we might not witness a sixteen and o potential
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: season with the parody and everything coming to college football.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: So the history that Indian is making, I've loved the story,
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: I've loved everything else, but it's hard. You see everybody
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: going back and forward with Miami. Now you're picking it
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: up because again you got all the banter, all the
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: fandom kind of arguing back and forth and debating, articles
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: being written out defending. So you just see the noise
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: getting louder.
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: The noise is growing where people are already figuring out
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: a way to put an asterisk on Indiana's one national team,
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: already trying to already trying to And dude, if you're
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: just sitting back as a fan and people are really
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: breaking down that Indiana when Kurt Signetti took over, Indiana
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: football was the losingest football program in D one history
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: ever and he has lost two games in his career
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: and his career as a head coach. Like, if they
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: win this national championship, there's already an argument in my
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: mind to be like, is Kurt Signetti the greatest head
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: coach of all time? And that includes Nick Saban That
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: there's dude, just think about it, like Nick Saban, Nick
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: Saban to lsure the moment easy, this is this is
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: and I will that's a perfect thing. This is a
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: prisoner of the moment type of thought process. But just
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: stick with me here and whoever's watching and listening, you
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: can comment your opinions. This is just the avenue I
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: go down. Is Nick sab him he was an LSU,
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: right he wins a national championship to Miami comes back?
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: He doesn't. He goes to Alabama, which is always got
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: great players. Always they have four or five star guys.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: Indiana when the statu you brought up in ESPN is
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: incredible to where these schools have like sixty something blue
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: chip players that are four and five star guys. Indiana
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: doesn't have any five stars and they have seven four
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: stars and they're the they don't make mistakes, they know
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: every situation perfectly. They have a quarterback that was like
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: a two star, three star coming out of high school
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: was Sir cal He's a surgeon. And it's just there's
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: no way to look at this and look at the
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: roster talent and be like, oh, Kurt Signetti, like he
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: might be the greatest of all time, he might be
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: the goat.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: I think that's where it separates, because I would die
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: on this hill that this is the greatest coaching job
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: we've ever seen, like a turnaround season stuff like that.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: But the separation would be the sustainability and longevity. I
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: mean sabing seven college football National championships, Like they started
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: winning those Natties at Alabama when he was there, like
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: starting in nine, he got on nine, tenty, eleven, twelve, fifteen, seventeen, twenty.
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: The sustainability and culture and everything that he built, Like
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: there is a there's a legacy factor that he has there,
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Like the legacy right now, Indiana finishes sixteen, and oh,
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: the legacy is gonna be statue, Like I'm sure there'll
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: be a movie about this one day because it is unreal. Again,
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: when we're talking to these Indiana fans, the gratitude and
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: just they're so hyped to be there just to cheer
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: on their team. They travel very well, and all of
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: them across the board, it's just that it's unreal to them.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: One guy was like, it's like a dream on top
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: of a dream. It's like a dream beyond a dream.
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: Oh he's inception. Yeah yeah, and the way his eyes
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: are moving around as he's trying to explain it. I'm
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: like having conversations with the fans and they're just they're
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: all so nice and so appreciative and just so fired
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: up that this has happened with their school. Like it's
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: it's unprecedented what Chris Signetti has done at Indiana for
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: in these first two years.
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: Right, so we're going to be like the goat college.
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: I love the framing of this might be the best
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: what you say.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: Coaching, the greatest coaching job we've ever seen, the.
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: Greatest coaching job we've ever seen, and that is I
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: think already done. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we go. Also the
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: outcome of this next shire, Yeah, I feel you to
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: go from the worst to arguably the best.
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: And again the last thing anything that they wont of
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: substance was nineteen forty five. Yeah, and when we were
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: talking about on ESPN, it's like since two thousand they've
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: had twenty or twenty one losing seasons.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: It is incredible in with this team. And the thing
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: that I saw I saw was it Josh Pate. He's
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: saying that Indiana has the nicest fan base of all time.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: You you telling that story just now, And it's like
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: these fans truly are living in a world of gratitude
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: where like we're just so happy to be here as
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: opposed to maybe some other fan bases that have been
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: you know, we we should, we need to be in
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: this position. That's kind of program we are. I wonder
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: how long this uh success needs to be sustained for
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: the fan base to change to be like, yeah, yeah,
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: this is what we do.
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: You know they have a four lost season, like, well,
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: I think we need a can Signata dude, Like I
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: think he's lost his juice.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: It'd be it would be crazy to see because I
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: really feel like this fan base, I'm so happy that
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: they're getting to feel this moment because I'm sure if
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: you're like if you're born into being an Indiana Hoosiers fan,
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: you're probably giving a certificate being like, hey, this is
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: a good therapist you could possibly have. Trust me, it's
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: not going to go well, but this is your This
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: is your and now you get to live in it,
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: which is just mind blowing to me.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: And again, like in America, football is the most popular sport.
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: Like just imagine being like generations. A dude was wearing
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: a bracelet talking about how it was just dazz and
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: how much he just loved football in Indiana football even
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: though they were no good and he's now wearing it
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: because it's like a generational thing. And the thought of
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: like I'm here because I know he'd want me to
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: come to this game, like the most popular sport in America.
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: For all you've ever known, your grand parents, everybody. All
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: you've never known is man, we'll never get to like
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: Sniff's success the way we see all these fan bases
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: have fun to now be in a spot to like, hey, family,
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: pack your bags, we are going down to Atlanta to
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: watch us in the in the semi finals of the
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: college football playoffs. Are now it's like we're going to
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: We're going to this national title, Like this is core
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: who knows how long this will last. This is insane
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: the feeling we get to have rooting on this football team.
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: Yeah, some would argue, before Indiana has gone on this run,
- 1:25:26Speaker 4: the biggest thing in Indiana. In Indiana is the breackyard
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: four hundred or the IndyCar race that happens there.
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: I mean their basketball team. It has been always they
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: got the movie Who's.
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: But like it's still like that's that was the biggest
- 1:25:40Speaker 4: thing that everybody in Indiana would look forward to. Now
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: it's like they have a football team.
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: Yeah, they got a ball club. It's incredible, a ball
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: club that, like I'm trying to like, Miami has things
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: that could definitely equalize the game. But I don't see
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: a lot of avenues for Miami to win this game,
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: like outright win it.
- 1:26:00Speaker 5: It is so rare for a situation like this for
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: these Indiana fans, for this program to not only have
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: this turnaround, but to also not be the sweetheart in
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: the situation. They are beating people's asses like they're the
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: big dog walking.
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: And fucking Signetti goes, we don't just beat top twenty
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: five teams, we beat the we beat their ass or
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: something like that, Like he is calling shots the.
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: Google me the well that show that shot was called
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: I think before they got whooped by Notre Dame lest.
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: Yeah, which is funny. And then because so many soone
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: sweet that like never wrong, just early, because now they've
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: had like five top ten teams that they've just mowed
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: down over and over. So yeah, it's it's it's fucking
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: wild to see. And Kurtzignetti is the perfect guy that
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: if you're not a fan of just watching the storyline,
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: he's the perfect guy for you to hate. Yeah, he's perfect.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: It's got You've got, You've got his antics and notions
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: and sound bites along with Banana Mendoza's like unquestionably jovial, exciting,
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: like just you could just tell he's just so happy
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: to be there. And it's funny.
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: I've never heard the Heisman be called a team award before.
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: I've never heard the MVP be called the team Award before.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: Fordana Mendoza hit that three or four times in his
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: in his Heisman speech. Now, Drake may and Matthew Stafford,
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: I've both heard them recognize the MVP as a team award,
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: and I've and I could be totally off on this,
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: I've never heard that before. It's like, this kid's really
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: just making it all by the time. This kid is
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: really what football should totally be about.
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: Yeah, And that's the shit that juices you up a
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: little bit.
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: I know. Miami's gonna obviously have an uphill battle. They're
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: eight and a half point underdogs, gonna have to be
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: a physical game. Like if they got him anywhere, it's
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: at the line of scrimmage. I'm between Bain and Mesador
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: and then on the offensive line, these size bro like
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: getting the watch and see.
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: And we were up yeah, tell me about that.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: We were up in sweet like we got to see
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: him warming up pre game and everything else. But even
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: up in a sweet and I'm sitting down there and
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: it's the left tackle. I forget his number, maybe number seventy.
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: I'm just like, look for his size.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: No, no, Miami. Yeah, he's gonna be a first round pick.
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: He's like a top ten You talking about Oregon, No,
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: I'm talking about Miami.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: Isaiah Isaa's like they have like a first rounder guy
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: that's number sixty one. But just the size and the
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: beef of this Miami football team is wild to see
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: in person. I don't know if the Whites that are
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: making of the white jerseys, the unis making them look massive,
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: but like, this is a massive football team and they
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: just they obviously have this skill. They have talent across
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: the board, but what they have up front and that
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: defense plays salty. Now salty, bro they will have to
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: go up against Indiana, who has been surgical on both
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: offense and defense. They are physical. I remember it's like
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: they were talking about them going out to Oregon the
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: first game, the defensive coordinators on Twitter responding back to
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: people talking about how they're undersize and this that the
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: other like, that's a physical team who plays very well
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: with their eyes. They're always insanely prepared. Before that Oregon game,
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: they that red zone defense only had only allowed twenty
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: three as in their red zone across the entire season.
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: Their offense got in the red zone like sixty eight times,
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: but they only allowed twenty three attempts in their red
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: zone and only allowed from those twenty three attempts six touchdowns.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: There hadn't been a team outside of like two games
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: where they allowed more than one touchdown. Oregon got one
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: or two there late in the game when the game
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: was already done.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: And over.
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: But the defense for Indiana's for real. Mendoza is a surgeon.
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: They run the ball well, Bro, that running back, I'm
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: forgetting his name, number eighth black black, Yeah, run by
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: the Atlanta scrimmage. They push piles, he finds lanes like.
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: They are physical, they celebrate hard. They just seem like
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: they have the most fun that they know. They're out
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: there whooping team's asses. And Mendoza puts the ball in
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: perfect windows, Bro, in perfect spot. How about the back
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: shoulders and Bro, every time I was having I'm like,
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: there's that back door to number thirteen.
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: Yes, sir, the album. When I was watching the film
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: before we did ESPN and talk like talk about it,
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: I'm watching like I I have to talk to you
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: because I have no idea how you defend that play.
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: How if you're in one o one and you're impressed
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: coverage and you get a corner to turn his shoulders
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: to the opposite side, to his back to the quarterback,
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: There's no way to defend that play. Bro, And Fernando
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: puts the ball in the perfect spart every time. And
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: I'm watching from Vegas. I'm just sitting there being like
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: I hope Will's like seeing this in real time because
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: I was very vocal about like this is.
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, open up every every time it's like there
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: it goes again. Yeah, and it can be well contested.
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: Sarat just has he has incredibly strong hands, bro, Like
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: the dude still comes down with it.
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: It's it's so impressed.
- 1:30:38Speaker 4: That's from Saint He transferred to JMU. He's from Saint Francis,
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: which is your school in Philly. They are declassifying from
- 1:30:45Speaker 4: D one to D three. That's how kind of bad
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: that they are. He transferred from there to I think
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: JMU and then came with Signetty to Indiana. So he
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: was like a D one double a guy and now
- 1:30:57Speaker 4: is just routing up five.
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: Dude and they have the ability like like is it
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: Omar Cooper?
- 1:31:04Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: Like that kid. Also like they when you talk about
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: the game of momentum, like a lot of these cats
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: if they were to be at a jam U still
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: or other schools.
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: Like.
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: Not having this to sustained success, the confidence you got
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: to where Sautos every time I run this, go this
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: back shoulder, go ball, he believes it is hard and
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: fart He's gonna catch it every single time. And that
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: to me really means something, is they have a player
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: with confidence aka momentum that we joke about with Greg
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: all the time, like it's it's so beautiful to see.
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: And bro, did you see the clip You were at
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: the game, but did you see the clip of the
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: defensive end for Indiana putting that move on Isaiah World. Yea,
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: it inside moved. Isaiah does a great job taking it,
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: taking taking over. Then he goes back to the outside.
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: And when Isaiah World turns, his shoulders spin back in
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: and it's like Kevin Hart's comedy, specially when he talks
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: about shack falling on the ground during basketball games. It
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: is literally he's like, oh no, it literally falls hits
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: his back and lays on his back for a second.
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: And even tho way he gets up of the money,
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: is he hurt like it is? It was like it's
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: a great athletic play by that kid. But you can
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: tell like he knows what he's doing from a rush standpoint,
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: Like you can see he's like his shoulders are turned out.
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: This is when I make the counter the second counter
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: move back to the inside, and I'm watching it like
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: my heart obviously goes out to Isaiah like he's you know,
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: he's a homie. But that's one of those plays you
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: look at and you're like, he just got you, buddy,
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: and that is a that's just it's it was surgical, bro,
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: what that dude was able to do. It was truly
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: surgical where I'm like, yeah, I don't see a flaw anywhere,
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: and it's crazy to see.
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: Miamy's got to play a clean game too. I feel
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: like the whole like the bad Boy manch or everything out.
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: They had some bad penalties and they got this same
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: they got Miami. Oh yeah, he got saved with one
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: where they end up pushing Chambliss out of bounce. It
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: should have been a roughing, but.
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: Yeah, they could end up smoking his head on the
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: bench because they had the little the shade covers and
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: I saw it in real time, like, god, damn, that
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: could get fucked up. For a second. Yeah, I was hoping,
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: uh Trinidad would pull it out of his ass at
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: the end. Man, it came close.
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: I mean that that was a past interference at the
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: end of the game on the clearly a past interference
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: Like I was in there too, Like this would be
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: so great to have this.
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: I'll just be on the Old Miss bandwagon because I
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: really was. But man, yeah, everything was going exactly how
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: it needed to go for Old Miss to take care
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: of that game.
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: Four lead changes in the fourth quarter. Crazy the dude,
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: it was nuts, man. And I like, as much as
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: I'm like, dude, how are they allowing Ole Miss to
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: just be in the position to throw a hell Mary
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: like this? I would have loved to have seen another
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: play because it's what a fifteen yard penalty? Yeah, to
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: have seen another play just nuts.
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: And then two days later, Trinidad Jamblis's appeal to be
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: have a six year get denied after the day after
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: and that just sucks man for him, Me Sam coming
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: back all this and you're like, how awesome is that?
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: And then he gets cut and you're like, hey, man,
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: sorry about that. You're going to NOWT Championship and also
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: you're done playing college football. It's like, what the fuck? Yeah,
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: see a bud? That sucks? Man, that sucks.
- 1:34:12Speaker 5: I have this tear talk loaded up for you guys.
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: Should we have some tear talks question before we go
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: into the tear talk. Yeah, tear talk for Mitch Carsley
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: hashtag tear talk.
- 1:34:20Speaker 4: Have you all have you guys seen this stuff surrounding
- 1:34:22Speaker 4: the forty nine ers in their practice facility.
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: Yes, bro, it was in the group chat last night.
- 1:34:26Speaker 4: I sent it in. It is something to seriously think about. Again,
- 1:34:31Speaker 4: I'm not like an electro whatever, yeah physicist.
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: Oh good, we know we aren't either, right, but like
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: you know my background, it is something.
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: It is like the studies and shit that's been on.
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: It's like, yo, if you actually think about it, where
- 1:34:44Speaker 4: Niners are known as being the most injured team, it's
- 1:34:47Speaker 4: all of these soft tissue tendon uh like injuries. Like
- 1:34:51Speaker 4: if this is a real like thing, what the fuck
- 1:34:55Speaker 4: are we doing?
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: Bro?
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: I mean it is real, I like, like to me,
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: to me, when I see that, I'm like, man, that
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: fucking sucks. And I hope they have like some progressive
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: thinking healthcare physicians on that team to where they make
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: a big deal out of it to ownership because when
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: I when I look at it, like with the EMFs
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: and the five G all that stuff, like, I'm a
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: firm believer, like you got to get as much of
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: that off of you as possible. I think it really
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: does mess up all sorts of things.
- 1:35:24Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying, Like I don't know exactly what
- 1:35:26Speaker 4: it does to you or what exactly happens, but like
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: that's why I'm saying, if it is a real thing,
- 1:35:30Speaker 4: and like the science and which it seems like it
- 1:35:32Speaker 4: does back it up, it's like, you guys need to
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: figure it out.
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: Right, we don't know enough about it, but we know
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: it's one hundred percent fact. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: Like if you're like, hey, Taylor will break this down
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: for us, we'd be like, really, we don't have a time,
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: we'll be able to check out this Twitter three. Yeah exactly,
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: But dude, there is a real thing about like grounding
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: and having like I don't know if it's like magnetic
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: stuff in your body because I'm just gonna sound it's
- 1:36:00Speaker 2: all good. Hey, we just know it's undred fact. You
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: always know what's a fact. You're right, Yeah, we're not
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: gonna break down, but let me try to bring it down. Literally,
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: we shouldn't break it down.
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: I saw a tweet of the old long snapper for
- 1:36:11Speaker 4: the Niners, like from years ago. His name like Tabor
- 1:36:14Speaker 4: something else. He's like, look at the trees on the
- 1:36:17Speaker 4: side of where the electro plane is, and then look
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: at the trees across the street, the trees where the
- 1:36:23Speaker 4: electro plane is, no leaves, everything's dead. The trees right
- 1:36:27Speaker 4: across the street full of leaves. It's like, Yo, there's
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: something happening right now. Not a scientist or whatever, but
- 1:36:33Speaker 4: it's like, hey, with.
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: A picture example, right in front of our eyes, yes,
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: right in front of our faces, you can literally see
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: which tree is happier. It's like that one, and it's
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: like if that one's that fucked up? And the thing
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: right next to is what we're talking about.
- 1:36:46Speaker 5: Yeah, fact, all I needed to see was the electrical
- 1:36:49Speaker 5: engineer with the EMF.
- 1:36:51Speaker 2: Reader, Yeah, sitting out there outside yes two.
- 1:36:54Speaker 5: Point three, is like, hey, that's max on this reading
- 1:36:57Speaker 5: that a human should be around two point three of
- 1:37:00Speaker 5: whatever the signal is. You don't want any more than that.
- 1:37:04Speaker 5: And then he's on the practice field and it's like
- 1:37:06Speaker 5: eight point four, eight point seven, eight point I'm like, okay,
- 1:37:09Speaker 5: that's real. That's evidence, Yeah, that that's not safe.
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: In regardless because it has been the last three years. Man,
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: it's always been these crazy injuries. Who's the linebacker in
- 1:37:21Speaker 2: the Super Bowl? Dre green Law just yea Achilles obviously
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: George yesterday, But Trent had this soft tish. Everybody's been
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: hurt achilles. Yes, bro, that is a good one too.
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: That is a good one.
- 1:37:35Speaker 4: Something like something to think about all of the A
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: c ls and stuff that's happened out there.
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: Like.
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: That was a that was a contact injury though, but
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: weaker could have been weaker. Yeah. Yeah, that's a good.
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: That's a good.
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: It's not like it has to happen in San Francisco
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: at a home game. This is like these dudes are
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: practicing on this field every.
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: Day, every day. They're at this facility every day. Yeah. Man,
- 1:38:03Speaker 2: but where do if you're in San Francisco, which Silicon
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: Valley Tech, you know, the tech mecca of our our
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: universe in the United States? Like, where do you go?
- 1:38:12Speaker 2: If you're gonna move, if you're gonna be very serious
- 1:38:14Speaker 2: about this and you're looking at as ownership for San Francisco, where.
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: Do you go? I don't know.
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: That's a good call. Get like a giant arrows tag
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: and drape it over. Yeah, just put put those tags
- 1:38:27Speaker 2: just literally all around the ball.
- 1:38:28Speaker 4: Over the Just move your practice facility. I mean that's
- 1:38:31Speaker 4: a billion dollar team, Like, just move it.
- 1:38:33Speaker 2: I can't it's one hundred million dollar move I.
- 1:38:36Speaker 4: Think they are a billion dollar team.
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: That's we're talking about ten percent now, Ken.
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: But I mean you can there's got there's got to
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: be you got to come with the solution. Got to
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: come with the solution. Can't you say these billionaires got
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: to do this?
- 1:38:49Speaker 4: But like I feel like if you are ownership and
- 1:38:52Speaker 4: you see this, like oh ship, you're not going to
- 1:38:56Speaker 4: like your team is seriously suffering because of problem.
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: But if you don't want to hurt your bottom line.
- 1:39:03Speaker 4: Which they which which the which the teams and like
- 1:39:06Speaker 4: owners and people don't necessarily they care about that more
- 1:39:09Speaker 4: than I guess you could say the health right.
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: They care about the bottom line more. So it's much
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: easier to be like, find a new training staff. Clearly
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: these guys are getting hurt, or shrink staff, training staff.
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: You know, you just you blame something that would be cheaper.
- 1:39:21Speaker 2: Or find people that aren't on this podcast that are
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: like this is one hundred percent true. People can be
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: like that's one hundreercent false. We need Huberman to break
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: this down. We need Huberman to That's what we need
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: is Hubie Breca. You need Breca. His wife dm Me
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: the other day asked Hi about UFC stuff, and I'm like, hey,
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: where's that red light? Should I say anything about the
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: red lay bad? I probably won't.
- 1:39:43Speaker 5: Uh, just for time purposes, we could just do one
- 1:39:47Speaker 5: Tier talk this week.
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: This one. We can read it out.
- 1:39:50Speaker 5: But I thought it'd be fun to pose the question
- 1:39:52Speaker 5: to you guys, if you could only pick two teams
- 1:39:56Speaker 5: to make the playoff next year, who would your two
- 1:39:58Speaker 5: teams be?
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: You want to read it?
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: We got one from John O Steele John O Steele
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: on X only two of the twelve teams that made
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: it to the playoffs will make it again next year.
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: Hashtag tier talk. We'd love to know what two teams
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: he's thinking about. If you only got to pick two
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: teams this year's playoff, which is just easy cop out?
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: Indiana Miami? I see, I don't know. I mean, yeah,
- 1:40:23Speaker 2: that's an easy cop out, no doubt. What about JMU
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: It seems like they have the easiest path every year
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: if they have a guaranteed spot in there.
- 1:40:29Speaker 4: They lost, they lost, they lost all.
- 1:40:31Speaker 2: Their status they always do do they always do, jam
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: you always, and they lost their entire roster. This year
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: they're gonna be it again. I honestly, that's a clean
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: I'll say Miami and Texas Tech. I like Texas Tech.
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: I'm not going to Miami with you. Do they have
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: a quarterback?
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. You've got Texas Tech. They're number
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: one in the portal right now, like Miami is gonna
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: be really good in the portal. Miami is by far
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: the best team in the ACC. Like it's it's not
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: even close. And Texas Tech is kind of operating that
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: same capacity. Because you look at these other teams the
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: conferences that they're in, the SEC and the Big Ten,
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: you kind of see the parody that will be there
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: next year in the college football season. I feel like
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: Texas Tech's just gonna reload, Miami's gonna reload there by
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: far and above the better, the best teams right now
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: in their respective conferences.
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: Texas Tech does that they have the number three transfer
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: portal class as of right now storesby just transferred the
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: more stores is a dog. And yeah, I agree with
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: you in that that Big twelve in the ACC are
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: the lesser of the two, the lesser than SEC Big ten.
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: So yeah, I like that take. Because Miami. You say Miami,
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: I'm thinking, yeah, but they haven't been back in forever
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: blah blah blah. But it's like it is a twelve
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: team playoff, and I think they clearly realize that, Like,
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: we made it harder on ourselves than we have to
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: be by losing the SMU and Louisville. Like next year
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: they're gonna go in. My biggest question mark for Miami
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: is who's your quarterback next year?
- 1:41:54Speaker 4: Who are they going to have? They're losing almost like
- 1:41:56Speaker 4: a lot of people measuging.
- 1:41:58Speaker 2: I haven't seen a whole lot like I hope of
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: Miami fans watching this right now, being like, because I'm
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: not familiar with what their transferportal looks like right now.
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: So if somebody in the comments can let me know,
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: that'd be awesome, because it seems like those are the
- 1:42:10Speaker 2: two clearest passes. Also, do we keep forgetting in the
- 1:42:13Speaker 2: a SEC who's running who's run that for twelve years?
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: And that's Clemson.
- 1:42:17Speaker 4: They're losing they don't have a quarterback.
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think it's so easy for us to like, oh,
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: Clemson had a bad year when they have had expectations
- 1:42:26Speaker 2: to like win the a SEC. Probably be in the
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: position Miami's in right now to be like, okay, they're done,
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: and it's like dabbo regardless of what you know, JP's
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: biases flood under us. He's a good coach and so
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: there there is that, like there is Miami and then
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: also Florida State, and there's also Clemson. So you don't know. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:42:45Speaker 2: but I think they I think, uh, Texas Tech for sure.
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: I love the idea Texas Tech. Let's hit another one,
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: just hit another. I gotta pee real bad.
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: But yeah, okay, So doctor Boozler is Indiana story the
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: best story in all of sports. If they win, I'm
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: thinking so hashtag to your talk, I feel like we
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: broke that down. I would be fully on board doctor
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: with Doctor Boozler.
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I think a documentary comes out immediately followed by
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: a major motion picture.
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: Doctor Steve here. Who is Matt Ryan going to select
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: as the next head coach for the Atlanta Falcons? Hashtag
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: to your talk, This is r s D.
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: Four four four four on X. Not not a real doctor,
- 1:43:29Speaker 2: more of a dentist. Yeah. I don't know. I'm not
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: I'm not savvy in the NFL head coach market. I
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: know that horror ball is in there, and if lafor
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: goes in. Apparently he's number one. Now, Yeah, that's what
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: I don't have a full pulse on the coachingacter. I
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: know Matt Naggi is getting a lot of looks. Kevin
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: Kevin Stefanski, John har Arthur Smith is in that Robert Sawa.
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: Everyone seems like he's gonna get another shot at it.
- 1:43:57Speaker 2: Uh Kubiak, Like, there's a lot of great names out.
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: Get Kubiak, Go get Kubiak. Well are you if you're
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: Kubiak and you're an offensive minded coach, do you want
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: to go take the Atlanta Falcon's job with fair? Yeah?
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: You can't put together two good knees between your two quarterbacks? Yeah,
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: that's very fair. No disrespect to the boys. Like there's
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: been a lot of injuries.
- 1:44:18Speaker 5: There's been rumors. I don't know if you'll have heard
- 1:44:20Speaker 5: anything about Kirby Smart want to maybe flirt with the NFL.
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I see, I saw Ryan Day, Kirby Smart and
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: also Uh Sarkisian are all like very interested in the
- 1:44:31Speaker 2: NFL because there's I'm big on the Twitter spaces, my
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: Michigan Twitter spaces right now, and the lore behind it
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: is like something's going on behind closed doors at Ohio State,
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: and someone tweeted that and then pulled a like from
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: a couple of Ohio State players liking that tweet, which
- 1:44:48Speaker 2: is adding to the allegendness of Ryan Day head head
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: of the NFL. I obviously want to beat Ohio States
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: asks every single year. I think it is a catastrophic
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: move for Ryan Day. I think he could be successful
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: in the NFL. But I think bro, like, you're going
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: to be on a top five program every year. Like
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: you guys. You guys have money, you have the recruiting classes,
- 1:45:10Speaker 2: whide receivers, think wide receiver, you like, grass isn't always greener.
- 1:45:15Speaker 4: I don't know what the payscale is for coaches in
- 1:45:19Speaker 4: the NFL, but I feel like you can make a
- 1:45:21Speaker 4: ship ton more money as a coach in college because
- 1:45:24Speaker 4: I feel like I think Kirby Day and like I
- 1:45:26Speaker 4: think Sark, they may be close to like that tens
- 1:45:30Speaker 4: of millions per year.
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: They're both I think they're both above twelve. I could
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: see it.
- 1:45:35Speaker 4: I feel like that's way more money than you'd be
- 1:45:37Speaker 4: making as an NFL coach. I don't know, I could
- 1:45:39Speaker 4: be wrong.
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: I don't know either, I really don't. I just feel
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: like the ambition. I can see that from coach Day,
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: Like he's a younger guy in the game, right, Like
- 1:45:47Speaker 2: it isn't Ohio State his first like head coaching job.
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: Yeah he was, he was there.
- 1:45:50Speaker 4: I think he has a minute. I don't know if
- 1:45:53Speaker 4: he was ever Yeah, but he.
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: He came over and Urban Maye. He was like head
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: coaching waiting with erb Meyer.
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it's been a big you know, it's in his
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: big job right nar as his own journey and everything else.
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: I could see him wanting to jump to the NFL.
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: But to go off of those three names Kirby Smart,
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: Ryan Day, and Sark, the three names that I've heard
- 1:46:10Speaker 2: that you were just talking about. I think if anyone
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: is going to try to take that step, Sark totally.
- 1:46:17Speaker 2: He's the guy. Kirby like, Bro, you're gonna have a statue. Ryan,
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: You're gonna have a statue like you guys have got that.
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: Sark is still in the He always has great teams
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: and he's always he's I think he's a phenomenal head coach.
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: But he hasn't won the national championship. There's box. He
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: hasn't checks that these two guys have. It's like Bro
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: don't try to be a guy that does everything. I
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: would sit with them in a room and be like,
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: you don't need to do all this, Like this is
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: the perfect world for you to stay in, because you
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: could be in the arguments with the Kurtzignettes and the
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: Nick Sabans. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: Or here's a tear talk right here. Andrew Douglas at
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: Dougie twenty four to twenty four twoos A nineteen LSU
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: vers twenty twenty five Indiana. Who you taking and why?
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: I will say, I think it's a little bizarre thinking
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: that this in a football team's the greatest football team
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: of all time? Have you seen the win by point differential? Yeah,
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: Indiana has more. He has a higher point differential win
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: than the two.
- 1:47:08Speaker 4: Indiana's average win is like thirty one points, and I
- 1:47:11Speaker 4: think LSU's was like twenty six.
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: Yeah, something like that. Like there are that we now
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: have enough of a sample size because it was also, Hey,
- 1:47:20Speaker 2: LSU beat five top ten teams blah blah blah bah
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: teamin nat Championship and now Indiana has also done that.
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: And in this world we live in, anybody who wins
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: the national Championship will beat five top ten teams, you know.
- 1:47:33Speaker 5: And the twenty nineteen LSU team. I think the only
- 1:47:35Speaker 5: metric that really brought down their average on that was
- 1:47:38Speaker 5: the Texas game, their season opener, where they won by
- 1:47:41Speaker 5: like two points.
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, bro, we're talking Joe Burrow, I know,
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: mar Justin Jefferson. This this question last week was not
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: near as interesting to me as it is this week.
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: And I'm sure based on what I think how the
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: nat Championships can go, it's gonna get a lot more
- 1:47:58Speaker 2: interesting at the end of this week.
- 1:48:00Speaker 4: Now, the teams that next week, the teams that that
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: LSU team played like there their game against Alabama, Like
- 1:48:06Speaker 4: you look at that game, I think there's twenty NFL
- 1:48:09Speaker 4: starters who played in that game, like playing in the
- 1:48:12Speaker 4: SEC back then before the Big Ten is taken over
- 1:48:15Speaker 4: these last before I think is I think it's not.
- 1:48:20Speaker 4: It's not apples to apples, dude.
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: I don't don't disagree with you, but when you use
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: the argument of this Alabama team had this many drafted guys,
- 1:48:27Speaker 2: that's where I fall back on. If I'm going to
- 1:48:29Speaker 2: fight for Indiana, it's like, well, we have to see
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: how many Alabama guys that they just bet by their
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: biggest loss since two thousand and whatever. How many of
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: those guys get drafted.
- 1:48:37Speaker 4: You know, because Indiana's playing like Purdue, they're playing Maryland,
- 1:48:42Speaker 4: They're playing Oh, you're we're all on the same We're
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: on the same boat.
- 1:48:48Speaker 2: But I wouldn't use Indiana and Maryland. You guys speak
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: for yourselves. I'm not in the same boat as you guys.
- 1:48:52Speaker 2: I do think Big Ten it's like hard stop, they're
- 1:48:56Speaker 2: the best conference. Yeah, but I'm if they win the
- 1:48:59Speaker 2: next championship again. Three the last three national championships have
- 1:49:03Speaker 2: all been Big ten, and they've all been by different teams.
- 1:49:05Speaker 2: I wonder what the other stat on that is. And
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: I know, like the little little biasness I'm just saying,
- 1:49:10Speaker 2: like that is clearly to me, Like right now, Big
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: ten runs College Football Tour. I think so much so
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: that next year we see the top twenty five will
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: start to shift that a little bit. Because the reason
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: why people are so heavy on the SEC is like,
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: look how many top twenty five teams we have preseason
- 1:49:24Speaker 2: and it's like okay, but you know when it all
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: kind of ends up, it's like these teams should have
- 1:49:29Speaker 2: been a weight rated higher.
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: I'm just saying, Mitch, trying to uh talk about the
- 1:49:36Speaker 1: lack of opponent that indian is playing, I think is
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: you don't used Purdue merilyd Like in the quarterfinals last week,
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: Indiana was the only squad that had beaten three teams
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: currently left in the quarterfinal to Ohio State, which is
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: the best team in the country beat them in the
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: Big Ten Championship. Obviously, Miami just beat them. Oregon twice
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: killed Oregon this second time.
- 1:50:00Speaker 4: I'm more so saying for the point differential part, Yeah,
- 1:50:05Speaker 4: I'm not like, I'm just saying, Okay, That's what I'm saying,
- 1:50:08Speaker 4: is like that that point differential could be so high
- 1:50:10Speaker 4: because they're beating Perdue fifty sixty three type thing.
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm.
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: I'm just I guess the seat that I'm sitting in
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: right now, I'm not trying to already like crown them
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: in such a way to where we met. We're making
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: all these hypothetical arguments to where I'm almost like trying
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: to tear down or go against what Indiana is doing,
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: you know what i mean, Because I'm I'm enjoying watching
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: their sea Like when the guy's like, who's winning, I'm
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: thinking in my head like it's twenty nineteen l' she was, Oh,
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: that's crazy.
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: You want to hate on this Indiana team. No, I
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: don't think you're there. I think we need to see
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: the final result of this Indiana team. Yeah, you can't. Ever,
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: you can't guarantees Miami, I said earlier, early two thousands
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: Miami team. I'm thinking to myself, ninety seven Nebraska ninety
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: four didn't win the next ninety four ninety five than
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: ask a team in the nineties.
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: I'm just saying the ninety seven Nebraska, Okay, but just
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: to be clear, who won the NST CHAPI won that
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: National champions yep. But in all the arguments when people
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: argue the early two thousands of Miami team, it's always
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: the early twousands of Miami team in like ninety seven Nebraska.
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: As far as like ass beatings margin twenty nineteen LSU's
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: another one. They use an Alabama team.
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: And there's twenty eleven Alabama or something like that. Yeah,
- 1:51:20Speaker 2: they use Alabama those because they were nasty. I mean, yeah, yeah,
- 1:51:25Speaker 2: I think we need to see a rap on this,
- 1:51:28Speaker 2: and then there's gonna be a world where you break
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: it down. And I love the fact It's so crazy
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: how the media works, because we walked into these playoffs
- 1:51:35Speaker 2: being like, well, Indiana, they haven't played a whole lot
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: of people, it's gonna be the same thing, one and
- 1:51:39Speaker 2: done type of situation. And now they mop Alabama, they
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: beat Ohio State, they mop Alabama, and they be Who's who?
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: They just beat Oregon and it's like, is this the
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: greatest team of all time? After a month's span, we're
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: now like, is this the greatest team to ever walk
- 1:51:55Speaker 2: the earth? So it's kind of nuts. Should we get
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: into if we get out of here?
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: Yeah, let's get out of here. You see Tomorrow and
