- 0:00Speaker 1: What was the message after this game? Because obviously not
- 0:02Speaker 1: the cleanest, but you guys were able to power through
- 0:04Speaker 1: against a really tough team.
- 0:06Speaker 2: One of those nights, something seemed to happen every shift.
- 0:11Speaker 2: We needed all facets of our game, and I think
- 0:14Speaker 2: especially in the third period, but regardless of what had
- 0:16Speaker 2: happened before that, we stuck to our plan and got
- 0:20Speaker 2: to our game, and we really got to it in
- 0:21Speaker 2: the third. But we put ourselves in a great position
- 0:24Speaker 2: by clawing back before that. So just part of the
- 0:27Speaker 2: group that we settled in and didn't get away from
- 0:31Speaker 2: what we needed to do tonight, and at the end
- 0:32Speaker 2: of the day, when you do that over time, it
- 0:35Speaker 2: gives you an opportunity to win a game.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Your line was talked about a lot tonight in terms
- 0:38Speaker 1: of just what you guys were able to do and
- 0:40Speaker 1: contribute amongst each other.
- 0:41Speaker 2: What do you like about the chemistry of your group.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And what you're able to do?
- 0:44Speaker 2: We go to work. We put the puck in. We're
- 0:47Speaker 2: smart with it, and we got a little bite, and
- 0:50Speaker 2: I think we won a lot of battles tonight. Hayts
- 0:53Speaker 2: and Yamo were great up and down the ice and
- 0:55Speaker 2: in the corners, and um, we were able to create
- 0:58Speaker 2: a lot from that. And that's kind of been our
- 0:59Speaker 2: identity as a, as a line. And, uh, I think we,
- 1:02Speaker 2: we played to that very well tonight. What details were
- 1:05Speaker 2: needed in the third period to keep it a tie
- 1:06Speaker 2: and push it over time? I think we played fast.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I think we played fast in the third, you know, look,
- 1:11Speaker 2: these guys run a tough back to back, um, you know,
- 1:14Speaker 2: over time, if we, like I said earlier, like if we,
- 1:16Speaker 2: if we force them to go back and get pucks
- 1:18Speaker 2: and get all the way down the ice. Um, and
- 1:21Speaker 2: I think we did a good job of wearing them
- 1:22Speaker 2: down and, um, that showed with us coming back in
- 1:25Speaker 2: the game.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Can you give a word or two on just what, um,
- 1:28Speaker 1: that you brought to the team on, especially in the
- 1:30Speaker 1: second half of the game when, you know, it was,
- 1:32Speaker 1: it was probably a little too far out of reach
- 1:34Speaker 1: and then you guys brought it back and he held
- 1:36Speaker 1: in there.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I think that's, uh, he played a resilient hockey game tonight. Uh,
- 1:40Speaker 2: he stuck with it. He found his game. Um, and
- 1:43Speaker 2: we needed him, you know, um, a couple of ones
- 1:46Speaker 2: that went in that, you know, bad bounce on the
- 1:48Speaker 2: first one, stuff like that. But he hung in there
- 1:50Speaker 2: and played a really strong game after that. And, um,
- 1:53Speaker 2: He gets a win tonight because he did that and
- 1:55Speaker 2: we did our job. From him on out, I think
- 1:58Speaker 2: it's just a great group effort. What's it like to
- 2:00Speaker 2: see a.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Young player like that score their first goal and then.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Get the game going? I said it after he scored
- 2:04Speaker 2: the first one, it's a good-looking first goal. But just
- 2:08Speaker 2: so fun, to be honest. It's fun to see a
- 2:12Speaker 2: young player like Seema come in, play the way he
- 2:15Speaker 2: has all year, but then get rewarded tonight with a
- 2:17Speaker 2: big one. A big night that I think he'll remember
- 2:20Speaker 2: for a long time. It's your first time winning in
- 2:22Speaker 2: overtime in this building.
- 2:23Speaker 1: What was that environment like?
- 2:24Speaker 2: It was great. The crowd was great all night. They're
- 2:26Speaker 2: great every night, but tonight it was awesome. I think
- 2:28Speaker 2: they saw a good hockey game. And for them to
- 2:31Speaker 2: get to sleep with us and bring that noise and
- 2:33Speaker 2: bring the energy, we felt that when Sema put that
- 2:36Speaker 2: last one in.
- 2:37Speaker 1: You've had some battles with Kucherov over the years. Is
- 2:40Speaker 1: it cool to see him hit a milestone or, you know,
- 2:42Speaker 1: rather have that in a different game?
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeah, of course. Well, you know, at the end of
- 2:45Speaker 2: the day, thankfully we got the win, but.
- 2:50Speaker 2: He's a special player and deserves all the accolades and
- 2:53Speaker 2: all the milestones that he's gotten. But, yeah, I've been
- 2:57Speaker 2: on the wrong side of a few of those. But,
- 3:01Speaker 2: you know, like I said, he's just a special player.
- 3:04Speaker 2: That guy can play hockey with the best of them
- 3:08Speaker 2: and has been in our league for a long time.
- 3:09Speaker 2: So in some ways it's cool, but at the end
- 3:13Speaker 2: of the day I'm glad we pulled out the win.
