- 0:39Speaker 1: shown me time and time again what miracles look like,

- 1:19Speaker 1: to it. I wrote down my goals and I placed
- 1:21Speaker 1: them above my bed along with my cross, and you
- 1:24Speaker 1: helped me work to achieve those goals day after day.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Look at how life works, Pops, Mom, your son is

- 2:20Speaker 1: the importance of staying committed to my goals. Also, rest
- 2:24Speaker 1: in peace to Ken Bamtombo, one of the greatest defenders
- 2:30Speaker 1: and shot blockers ever.

- 3:52Speaker 1: Just being in your presence pushed me to want to
- 3:54Speaker 1: be a great center, knowing that I was being coached
- 3:56Speaker 1: by one of the greatest centers of all time, Shaq.
- 4:05Speaker 1: We did not always see how to eye, but at highsight,
- 4:08Speaker 1: I believe it was just sibling robberies. We are brothers
- 4:12Speaker 1: in this fraternity of basketball, and sometimes brothers fight over
- 4:15Speaker 1: the stupidest stuff.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I really blamed Soldier boy, y'all. He was your but
- 4:22Speaker 2: I just want.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I just want y'all to know that the two original
- 4:27Speaker 1: Superman is in the building to day, and it's a
- 4:30Speaker 1: honor to have you walked me out into this arena
- 4:33Speaker 1: of greatness. My hoop dreams began with nothing more than
- 4:43Speaker 1: a basketball in my imaginations.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Me and my brother, we didn't have a basket.
- 4:47Speaker 1: It was just me and him in the street doing
- 4:50Speaker 1: a schafing game while my sister was trying to cook
- 4:52Speaker 1: some raining noodles.
- 4:56Speaker 2: And ballogning telling us to come inside and eat the white.
- 5:01Speaker 1: That game helped me to become a great defender and
- 5:03Speaker 1: a complete player. Some people don't notice, but I was
- 5:07Speaker 1: a five nine point guard until I broke my leg.
- 5:10Speaker 1: That's why they say break a leg. But I knew
- 5:16Speaker 1: early on that my talent would not take me that far.
- 5:19Speaker 1: So that's why I was up out of bed every
- 5:22Speaker 1: morning at four am working on my greatness. So I
- 5:24Speaker 1: want to give a shout out to Corey mccraie, if
- 5:27Speaker 1: he's in here. He was on the track with me
- 5:29Speaker 1: and my pops every day. Dehonn Glover and Big Hat
- 5:33Speaker 1: for coming from the Strip club straight to the gym
- 5:36Speaker 1: to help me work out.
- 5:37Speaker 2: So I appreciate y'all too. Wherever y'all at Dion, you
- 5:41Speaker 2: still smell like a little hennessy, but thank you. I'm sorry.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I love y'all.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Because of this, I was growing as a person but
- 5:51Speaker 1: also as a player. So I wanted to give a
- 5:54Speaker 1: shout out to the people who helped me out during
- 5:55Speaker 1: this time. My church, Fellowship of Faith Christian International Church,
- 6:00Speaker 1: East Point, Georgia, my school Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy, which
- 6:06Speaker 1: I attended from kindergarten, y'all all the way into my
- 6:09Speaker 1: senior year Gold Warriors.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I want to give a big thank you to Pastor
- 6:16Speaker 2: Wayne C.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Thompson and Gerald Deane Thompson for believing in us and
- 6:20Speaker 1: it's stilling faith in us every day. I still hear
- 6:23Speaker 1: your voice, Sister Jerry saying be great and walk in greatness.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Reminded me to be great and everything that I do.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Shout out to Coach Courtney Brooks. I know you in
- 6:33Speaker 1: the building. I seen those braids against some hay time,
- 6:36Speaker 1: so thank you. Felt just gonna be balled like me
- 6:38Speaker 1: and my pops. Pops, I love you. Your Warrior workouts
- 6:44Speaker 1: helped me get into the NBA. I want to shout
- 6:46Speaker 1: out Wallace, Prayther May you rest in peace, the originator
- 6:50Speaker 1: of the Atlanta Celtics, who helped me obtain my goal
- 6:55Speaker 1: to becoming the number one player in the nation. I
- 6:58Speaker 1: was that Little Engine that Could. That was my favorite
- 7:01Speaker 1: book and my greatest inspiration. Like that Little Engine that Could,
- 7:06Speaker 1: I used to repeat to myself, I think I can.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Eventually it became I know I can. And in two
- 7:12Speaker 1: thousand and four, I heard my name called as a
- 7:15Speaker 1: number one pick in the draft, just as I wrote
- 7:21Speaker 1: it down when I was ten. But the roller coaster
- 7:24Speaker 1: was just beginning here. I was a young man, eighteen
- 7:28Speaker 1: year old, a small town, a small church, and suddenly
- 7:33Speaker 1: now I'm playing in the NBA. I'm the face of
- 7:35Speaker 1: a franchise.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And I'm playing in front of the whole world.
- 7:38Speaker 1: And I'm facing legends like Shaquille O'Neill and Kevin Garnett.
- 7:44Speaker 2: These are my favorite players growing up. Imagine playing against
- 7:48Speaker 2: KG and you getting.
- 7:49Speaker 1: A fight in one of your first games. One of
- 7:53Speaker 1: these many learning lessons that I had in those early
- 7:55Speaker 1: days of my career.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Stan Van Gundy, I don't know if you hear.
- 8:00Speaker 1: There, you go, oh man, y'all know I gotta do
- 8:05Speaker 1: it later. But Andy Stan, I just want to say
- 8:07Speaker 1: because of you, I am in the Hall of Fame.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And as I said.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Before, there is no Dwight Howard without stand Damn Gungy,
- 8:18Speaker 1: you taught me what it means to stay ready. I
- 8:22Speaker 1: still remember in the playoffs you had us doing plays
- 8:26Speaker 1: for guys that never even got in the game, and
- 8:29Speaker 1: I remember you saying.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Listen, you never know. You never know, I mean, listen,
- 8:37Speaker 2: but you was right.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Stand in basketball and in life, you gotta stay ready.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Y'all look crazy.
- 8:47Speaker 1: All right, that's the last one staying I say also
- 8:50Speaker 1: a lot of to my teammates, especially my bets who
- 8:53Speaker 1: helped me out when I first started, Stacy Ogman, Tony Patti, Steve, Francis, Catino,

- 11:15Speaker 1: this journey has not been easy. I've been through many
- 11:18Speaker 1: storms on and off the court, but I've never allowed.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Those to wash me out.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Instead, I kept smiling and shining bright because I knew
