- 0:00Ariel, can you say, have faith?
- 0:03Let it begin. Let it begin? Let it begin. Say, have faith.
- 0:08Let it begin. Let it begin. No. No? No? No? Okay.
- 0:14Welcome to Have Faith, Let It Begin. This is Ariel Santana.
- 0:20Can you believe I'm seven years old already?
- 0:24I'm old enough now to introduce my dad.
- 0:29Ladies and gentlemen, your host, my dad, Angel Santana.
- 0:36Christmas Hope Week continues, episode two of this theme week.
- 0:41It's December 9th, Finding Joy in the Everyday Moments.
- 0:46Hello, everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Half Faith, Let It Begin.
- 0:50Yesterday, we began Christmas Hope Week, a journey toward peace,
- 0:54joy, and spiritual renewal as we prepare our hearts for this message.
- 0:59Peace on Earth, the joy within us, which is coming up this Sunday.
- 1:03So today we focus on something very close to my heart, finding joy in everyday moments.
- 1:11You know, joy is one of those words where we hear a lot during the Christmas time.
- 1:17Joy to the world, joyful and triumphant.
- 1:20But sometimes, especially in the middle of December rush, joy can feel like
- 1:25something we're supposed to feel, not something we actually experience.
- 1:30Today, we're going to change that. Let's start with the truth that can reshape your whole day.
- 1:37Joy is not based on your situation.
- 1:39Joy is based on your Savior.
- 1:42Joy doesn't disappear when life gets busy. Joy doesn't vanish when things get hard.
- 1:49Joy doesn't depend on everything going right.
- 1:52Joy is within you because God is within you.
- 1:57The scripture reminds us, chapter eight, verse 10 in Nehemiah,
- 2:02the joy of the Lord is your strength.
- 2:05Not the joy of December. Not the joy of presence. Not the joy of perfect circumstances.
- 2:12The joy of the Lord. A joy that strengthens. A joy that empowers.
- 2:19A joy that stays even when everything else feels shaky.
- 2:25You know, years ago, I was having one of those days. Running late.
- 2:29Everything piling up. My mind somewhere else entirely.
- 2:32And out of nowhere, my daughter.
- 2:35Yeah, Ariel, just a little thing at the time, came up to me with a Christmas
- 2:39ornament she made and said, Daddy, I made this because it makes me happy,
- 2:45and I want you to be happy too.
- 2:48That moment stopped me. It broke me. It broke right through the mental noise.
- 2:53And suddenly, joy wasn't something I had to go looking for.
- 2:58I mean, it was right there in a child's simple gesture, my daughter's simple hands.
- 3:04I realized something that day.
- 3:07Joy is often hiding in plain insight.
- 3:10Joy is never really something we lose. We just forgot to look.
- 3:17Joy is not always loud. It's not always dramatic.
- 3:23Sometimes joy is quiet. Sometimes joy is simple.
- 3:27Joy looks like the sound of laughter coming from another room,
- 3:31the first sip of a warm coffee on a cold morning, the twinkle of Christmas lights,
- 3:36someone holding the door for you, a song that reminds you of God's faithfulness,
- 3:41a memory that brings a smile, not a tear,
- 3:45a moment of stillness where you realize you're not alone.
- 3:49These are not accidents. These are not coincidences.
- 3:54These are God's fingerprints on your day.
- 3:58At the heart of Christmas joy is one truth.
- 4:02A joy came into the world wrapped in swaddling clothes.
- 4:08Luke chapter 2 verse 10, do not be afraid. I bring you good news.
- 4:13Good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
- 4:17A great joy, a gift for every single one.
- 4:22A joy not limited to holidays Not limited to the good days Not limited to certain
- 4:30people This joy is for you Right now Right where you are.
- 4:37Why is joy so hard to see? Well, sometimes joy gets buried under the weight
- 4:42of life, responsibilities, worry, fatigue, and expectations.
- 4:47And when you are tired, joy can feel like something far away.
- 4:52But hear me, joy isn't something you chase.
- 4:55Joy isn't something you notice, something you receive, something God places inside of you.
- 5:03Finding joy today can be practical, can be spiritual. So here's your challenge.
- 5:08It's a simple one, and it's a powerful one. Look for joy in one everyday moment. Just one.
- 5:15One smile. One quiet moment. One unexpected blessing.
- 5:20One small reminder that God sees you. And once you see it, thank Him.
- 5:26Because gratitude is the doorway to joy.
- 5:30In Psalms 16, verse 11, it says, You make known to me the path of life.
- 5:36In your presence is fullness of joy.
- 5:40Not halfway joy. Not momentary joy. Not fullness of joy.
- 5:48So today, as you move through your day, don't wait for the joy to show up in
- 5:52the big ways. Look for it in the little moments.
- 5:56Because joy is not around you. Joy is within you.
- 6:00I hope you enjoyed today's episode. Episode 2 of Christmas Hope Week.
