- 0:18Speaker 1: I just finished watching Scream seven. I'm gonna start off
- 0:21Speaker 1: by just talking about some general thoughts about the movie
- 0:24Speaker 1: and the franchise overall. As we go on, I'm gonna
- 0:27Speaker 1: be getting into things that I liked and didn't like
- 0:29Speaker 1: about the movie, and there'll probably be some more spoilers
- 0:33Speaker 1: as that goes on. At first, just general thoughts, no spoilers,
- 0:38Speaker 1: nothing to worry about. So if you haven't seen the movie,
- 0:40Speaker 1: I'll give you a warning before we get into spoilers
- 0:42Speaker 1: if you're wanting to see the movie. If not, just
- 0:44Speaker 1: you know, stick around for the whole show. One of
- 0:48Speaker 1: the biggest problems with the Scream franchise overall is that
- 0:51Speaker 1: it's become a studio franchise. Pretty much right out the gate.
- 0:55Speaker 1: It became a studio franchise. The first one is as
- 0:58Speaker 1: good as it is because they didn't have a big
- 1:00Speaker 1: behind it. It wasn't expected to do as well as
- 1:03Speaker 1: it did, so they were really just kind of like
- 1:05Speaker 1: they let, you know, Wes and Kevin Williamson make the
- 1:08Speaker 1: movie that they wanted to make what they had in
- 1:10Speaker 1: mind after the Cats out of the bag. Though that
- 1:13Speaker 1: this ship makes money, the studio isn't gonna want to
- 1:16Speaker 1: take any risk. Once they figure out that this thing
- 1:19Speaker 1: is a big ass money maker, it's no longer your
- 1:23Speaker 1: movie anymore, you know what I'm saying. Because they're the
- 1:25Speaker 1: ones funding it, they're wanting the return on it, they
- 1:29Speaker 1: get the final cut. I would say that's why Scream
- 1:33Speaker 1: three was rewritten. That's why they didn't carry on with
- 1:36Speaker 1: the Jill storyline after Scream four, and that's why the
- 1:39Speaker 1: rebooting of five and six was eventually shut down. And
- 1:43Speaker 1: I know that there's more to it than just that,
- 1:45Speaker 1: But really, when it comes down to it, if the
- 1:47Speaker 1: studio wasn't so worried about their image, if they weren't
- 1:50Speaker 1: so involved, or the politics behind it or whatever it is,
- 1:54Speaker 1: any of these stories could have been fleshed out to
- 1:56Speaker 1: their full potential. I think all of these stories have
- 1:58Speaker 1: great potential to do well. After seeing Scream seven and
- 2:02Speaker 1: reading some of the things online about it, I've been
- 2:04Speaker 1: mostly staying away from spoilers. I didn't see any spoilers
- 2:07Speaker 1: before watching it or anything like that. I was just
- 2:10Speaker 1: kind of getting a general idea of what people had
- 2:13Speaker 1: to say about it. I feel like after seeing it,
- 2:17Speaker 1: the hate feels forced. I saw a lot of people
- 2:20Speaker 1: talking about how it was the worst scream they'd ever seen,
- 2:23Speaker 1: how it was just a bad movie overall, And we'll
- 2:25Speaker 1: kind of get into that a little bit more of
- 2:27Speaker 1: why that is. But overall, I feel like this happens
- 2:31Speaker 1: to every franchise once you're getting into like the seventh
- 2:34Speaker 1: movie and stuff like that, and especially for franchises that
- 2:38Speaker 1: make money and they just go on for way too long.
- 2:41Speaker 1: The Halloween franchise is a perfect example. It's just do
- 2:45Speaker 1: we need fucking thirteen Halloween movies or however many it's
- 2:48Speaker 1: been now, including the rob Zombie remakes and everything. It's just,
- 2:52Speaker 1: you know, eventually you just gotta knock it off and
- 2:55Speaker 1: do something else. But they're never gonna stop making those
- 2:58Speaker 1: movies because they're always going to make money. And the
- 3:01Speaker 1: same thing with this Scream seven, from what I've seen,
- 3:03Speaker 1: has had the biggest opening out of all of the
- 3:07Speaker 1: screen movies. It's as screen movies, it's almost hit like
- 3:10Speaker 1: one hundred mil or something like that, if I remember.
- 3:12Speaker 1: It was a lot of fucking money, but it was
- 3:14Speaker 1: quite a bit more than any of the others, which
- 3:16Speaker 1: is kind of crazy. I mean, I've seen a lot
- 3:20Speaker 1: of people boycotting the movie online or talking about boycotting
- 3:24Speaker 1: the movie. I don't know how legit that is, but
- 3:26Speaker 1: I've seen some people posting about that, and the post
- 3:28Speaker 1: will have thousands of likes and hundreds of comments of
- 3:32Speaker 1: people agreeing that they're gonna boycott this movie because of
- 3:35Speaker 1: the Melissa Brera stuffs. And on top of the boycotts,
- 3:38Speaker 1: I've seen people saying that they're just going to purposely
- 3:40Speaker 1: straight up pirate the movie because they don't want to
- 3:43Speaker 1: give them the franchise or the movie any money because
- 3:46Speaker 1: of the Melissa Brera stuff. And it's like, I agree,
- 3:49Speaker 1: Melissa Brera shouldn't have been fired for whatever she posted
- 3:52Speaker 1: on Twitter about Palestine. I haven't read the tweeter or
- 3:55Speaker 1: anything like that, so you know, whatever it was, though
- 3:58Speaker 1: I'm sure it probably was, isn't that bad. I saw people,
- 4:02Speaker 1: the people that are justifying it saying that it's anti Semitic.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I don't want to get into all that. I doubt it.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I doubt she was saying anything severely anti semitic online.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Melissa Brera doesn't seem like the type, you know. I
- 4:17Speaker 1: don't think she's doing any Roman salutes or listening to
- 4:20Speaker 1: HH by Kanye West or anything like that, if you
- 4:23Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, where was I kind of got
- 4:27Speaker 1: off on a tangent there about them, melisciber. So, even
- 4:30Speaker 1: with all that being said, the movie still having a
- 4:33Speaker 1: crazy opening weekend. So I think that's pretty impressive. And
- 4:37Speaker 1: that's exactly why they're never going to stop making these
- 4:40Speaker 1: movies because it does. It just makes us much damn money,
- 4:44Speaker 1: and it's like, whether you like it or not, you
- 4:46Speaker 1: just kind of gotta be along for the ride of
- 4:49Speaker 1: the franchise. That's the whole point of these goddamn franchises.
- 4:52Speaker 1: After a certain point, They're not going to be the
- 4:54Speaker 1: best movie you've seen all year. They're simply made to
- 4:58Speaker 1: make money and have fun, and that's it. It the
- 5:02Speaker 1: reason why these franchises start to turn to shit after
- 5:06Speaker 1: a while. It's the same reason why the ending of
- 5:09Speaker 1: Game of Thrones and Stranger Things were so hated. All
- 5:12Speaker 1: of these projects were written without an ending. I mean,
- 5:16Speaker 1: the original Scream trilogy would have at least felt like
- 5:18Speaker 1: a satisfying ending to me, even though I think they
- 5:21Speaker 1: would have been better off going with the original Scream
- 5:24Speaker 1: story for Scream three. But if you would have ended
- 5:27Speaker 1: it there, it would have felt like, you know, a
- 5:30Speaker 1: nice little package, wrapped up, sent delivered. Great, we got
- 5:35Speaker 1: it over with, We got the screen movies done. Say
- 5:38Speaker 1: what you want about the third movie, like it, hate it, whatever.
- 5:41Speaker 1: It would have been a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.
- 5:43Speaker 1: But once they see them damn dollar bills, they're just like,
- 5:47Speaker 1: how about we do this shit? How about we do
- 5:49Speaker 1: this shit? And what if this happens? And what if
- 5:51Speaker 1: Sidney's cousin is here, and what if fucking blah blah blah,
- 5:54Speaker 1: And it's just like, all right, shut the fuck up.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Shut the fuck up so much if you're if that's
- 6:01Speaker 1: your thought, I mean I get it. Though. If somebody
- 6:03Speaker 1: was like, here's one hundred million dollars to write the
- 6:06Speaker 1: shittiest scream movie imaginable, yeah, I do it. Fuck yeah,
- 6:10Speaker 1: I'd release Scream six if someone paid me that much money,
- 6:14Speaker 1: I'd release Scream six, and i'd you know, I would say,
- 6:18Speaker 1: you know what, it's a piece of shit. It's too bad, though,
- 6:21Speaker 1: You're gonna watch it anyway, aren't you. The other thing
- 6:24Speaker 1: that I have to say about some of the stuff
- 6:25Speaker 1: I've seen online is people basically saying like, oh, you
- 6:30Speaker 1: thought the ending of Scream six was shitty. Well wait
- 6:33Speaker 1: till you see the ending of Scream seven. Well, hey,
- 6:35Speaker 1: I've seen the ending of Scream seven. Now Stream six
- 6:38Speaker 1: is much shittier. I'm gonna do a whole video breaking
- 6:42Speaker 1: down watch the ending of Scream six is such a
- 6:44Speaker 1: big piece of shit, and you can watch it right
- 6:46Speaker 1: after this. I'm gonna release it tomorrow, so stay tuned
- 6:50Speaker 1: for the Stream six ending and why it sucks my dick.
- 6:53Speaker 1: The first thing I'm gonna say about Scream seven is
- 6:55Speaker 1: that it is very gory. I would say probably the
- 6:59Speaker 1: gory in the franchise so far. If it really feels
- 7:02Speaker 1: like they went over the top with some of the
- 7:04Speaker 1: kills and some of the gore that we see in
- 7:06Speaker 1: this movie, I don't know, because the scene in screen
- 7:10Speaker 1: four where the girl gets killed in the bedroom's pretty brutal. Honestly,
- 7:14Speaker 1: they got a lot more brutal with four, five, and six,
- 7:17Speaker 1: so this one it feels in line with those, but
- 7:20Speaker 1: I would say it does maybe take it up a
- 7:22Speaker 1: notch or so, because there are some kills in this
- 7:25Speaker 1: movie that are honestly bordering like dark comedy. There's one
- 7:30Speaker 1: in particular that I'm thinking of, and if you've seen
- 7:33Speaker 1: the movie, you probably know what I'm talking about. Where
- 7:35Speaker 1: I was just kind of like, wait, what the fuck?
- 7:37Speaker 1: And then they just kept doing it and I was like, Okay,
- 7:39Speaker 1: that's just silly, but whatever. It makes you question who's
- 7:45Speaker 1: going to be behind the ghost space mask. So let's
- 7:47Speaker 1: go ahead and get into some likes, some dislikes, and
- 7:50Speaker 1: then we'll kind of wrap this thing up by going
- 7:53Speaker 1: over my predictions about the Scream seven movie and see
- 7:56Speaker 1: if I got any of those motherfuckers right. So the
- 7:58Speaker 1: first thing I liked about the movie away, I really
- 8:01Speaker 1: like seeing Sidney Prescott or now Sidney Evans as a
- 8:05Speaker 1: mom and a wife. I thought that was pretty charming.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I thought it was fun to see how she's dealing
- 8:11Speaker 1: with raising her teenage daughter, and she has two other
- 8:14Speaker 1: little daughters that aren't really in the movie. They're like
- 8:16Speaker 1: with the grandparents for whatever reason, like on a you know,
- 8:20Speaker 1: a vacation or some shit. So we don't have to
- 8:22Speaker 1: worry about the little kids in this movie, which I
- 8:24Speaker 1: appreciated that honestly. So we just have Tatum, the seventeen
- 8:28Speaker 1: year old daughter of Sidney Prescott. She's kind of having
- 8:30Speaker 1: some trouble parenting or her daughter. Her daughter doesn't understand
- 8:34Speaker 1: why she's so protective of her, and you know, everything
- 8:37Speaker 1: you would expect from someone that's nearly been murdered throughout
- 8:40Speaker 1: their entire life, and they've always been a target of
- 8:43Speaker 1: these specific killings. So I thought that was really interesting.
- 8:47Speaker 1: And same thing with the wife. I thought her and
- 8:49Speaker 1: the husband, Mark played by Joel mchill, I thought they
- 8:52Speaker 1: were great together. I like their dynamic. I liked him.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I liked that he was a cop. I thought that
- 8:58Speaker 1: was a nice touched. It kind of makes sense that
- 9:01Speaker 1: she would marry someone who feels like a protector as well.
- 9:04Speaker 1: He's a big guy, very formidable opponent to ghost Face,
- 9:08Speaker 1: as we see in the movie. The next thing I
- 9:10Speaker 1: really liked about it, and this is probably where we
- 9:14Speaker 1: might get into some more like I guess you could
- 9:16Speaker 1: consider this a spoiler. I'm not going to try to
- 9:18Speaker 1: get into too much detail with any of this, so
- 9:21Speaker 1: I would say that if you do continue listening past
- 9:24Speaker 1: this point, it's not going to give too much weight.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I'm not going to say exactly like who was killed,
- 9:30Speaker 1: you know, but I'll kind of describe some of the scenes.
- 9:32Speaker 1: So the rehearsal killed, there's a dance rehearsal or a
- 9:36Speaker 1: play rehearsal or something that will The rehearsal scene made
- 9:40Speaker 1: up for the lackluster opener. I'll say that it's probably
- 9:43Speaker 1: the best scene in the movie, just the some of
- 9:46Speaker 1: the lighting that they choose with it, the way that
- 9:48Speaker 1: it's like stage lit and the background is lit and
- 9:52Speaker 1: like blue and like strong red and blue. It had
- 9:54Speaker 1: almost like a giallow feel to it, which I thought
- 9:56Speaker 1: was really neat. But that kill is ridiculous. It's one
- 10:01Speaker 1: of the best. It's very impactful, and it happens like
- 10:03Speaker 1: pretty early on where shit gets serious really fast in
- 10:06Speaker 1: this movie, which I loved. I thought the pacing for
- 10:08Speaker 1: this movie was great. The only thing I will say,
- 10:11Speaker 1: I'll throw this on my dislikes for sure. I didn't
- 10:14Speaker 1: care for the opener. It just felt like it was
- 10:16Speaker 1: kind of dragging its feet in a way if you
- 10:18Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, but agree, disagree, whatever, Let me
- 10:21Speaker 1: know what you thought about the opener down below. Probably
- 10:24Speaker 1: the thing that I liked maybe the most about this movie.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I don't know. This was definitely like up there for me.
- 10:30Speaker 1: The Gail weathers intro in this movie is incredible. I'm
- 10:34Speaker 1: not going to get into a detail with it, but
- 10:37Speaker 1: it's the best Giale Weathers intro we've seen of all time.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I was kind of wondering if they weren't going to
- 10:43Speaker 1: do something like this as the scene was playing out.
- 10:46Speaker 1: It's a scene where Sydney and her family are being
- 10:49Speaker 1: attacked and Gale Weathers is introduced, and that's all I'm
- 10:52Speaker 1: going to say. I won't get into it. The Gail
- 10:54Speaker 1: Weathers intro is incredible. That alone makes it worse seeing
- 10:57Speaker 1: the movie, and this is going to be maybe a
- 11:01Speaker 1: bigger spoiler or a hint at a spoiler. The mocking
- 11:05Speaker 1: of the killer being Stumacher, to me was hilarious. There's
- 11:09Speaker 1: a lot of lines between Gail and Sydney, and even
- 11:12Speaker 1: like as the movie goes on towards the end, where
- 11:15Speaker 1: they're kind of laughing at the fact that people think
- 11:18Speaker 1: that Stumacher is going to be the killer, and they
- 11:21Speaker 1: do a good job of like tripping you up with
- 11:23Speaker 1: that and kind of like putting it out there as
- 11:25Speaker 1: a red herring and stuff. But overall, it felt very
- 11:29Speaker 1: on point for the franchise to kind of poke fun
- 11:32Speaker 1: at these fan theories because I feel like they guess
- 11:35Speaker 1: that the fans would take this Matthew Lillard news and
- 11:39Speaker 1: run wild with it, Like they're very aware of who
- 11:42Speaker 1: their fan base is and you know what they're going
- 11:45Speaker 1: to pick up on. So this was like the main
- 11:47Speaker 1: thing that people were talking about before the movie came out,
- 11:50Speaker 1: is Stu Marker's back, And Stubalker's not really dead. He
- 11:53Speaker 1: you know, the TV didn't even hurt him or whatever.
- 11:56Speaker 1: He just got up and left before the police and
- 11:58Speaker 1: the ambulance got there and slipped out the back door.
- 12:00Speaker 1: And no one's seen him in fucking thirty years. And
- 12:03Speaker 1: that makes sense to a lot of Scream fans apparently. Okay,
- 12:07Speaker 1: I thought the red right hand needle drop was decent.
- 12:12Speaker 1: I thought it was pretty good. It's one of those
- 12:13Speaker 1: where it was kind of maybe a little bit more
- 12:16Speaker 1: in the middle for me, but it felt it felt
- 12:19Speaker 1: in line with like maybe the first movie, I'll say that,
- 12:22Speaker 1: but it almost felt a little too in line with
- 12:24Speaker 1: the first movie, you know what I'm saying, where it's
- 12:26Speaker 1: like we could change it up a little bit. But
- 12:29Speaker 1: it was good. It happened after like a very impactful
- 12:31Speaker 1: moment for that part of the movie. Because that impactful
- 12:37Speaker 1: moment that I'm talking about doesn't really pay off in
- 12:40Speaker 1: the end. The next thing that I thought was really great.
- 12:43Speaker 1: The last thing on my likes list is they finally
- 12:46Speaker 1: do the Gail in Sydney interview. I'm not gonna explain
- 12:50Speaker 1: why they do it, but Gaile finally gets her one
- 12:52Speaker 1: on one sit down live interview with Sidney Prescott. It's
- 12:56Speaker 1: great and she is She is the all busting gale
- 13:00Speaker 1: Weathers of old in this movie. I will say this
- 13:02Speaker 1: is the best gale Weathers we've seen probably since Scream three,
- 13:06Speaker 1: and Scream three is gonna be hard to beat. That
- 13:08Speaker 1: might be the best gale Weathers movie because you got
- 13:11Speaker 1: Parker Posey and Courtney Cox doing gale Weathers at the
- 13:15Speaker 1: same time. You're not gonna be that gale Weathers in
- 13:18Speaker 1: Screen three, because that's the best gale Weathers movie if
- 13:21Speaker 1: that's what you're looking for. So on to my dislikes.
- 13:25Speaker 1: The dislike list is long and strong. The opening scene
- 13:29Speaker 1: is the first thing about the movie I disliked, which
- 13:32Speaker 1: you know, I was hoping that this would be a
- 13:34Speaker 1: decent movie. Obviously, I think most people were, although I
- 13:38Speaker 1: also think there's a lot of people that were hoping
- 13:40Speaker 1: that this movie would suck so that they could absolutely
- 13:43Speaker 1: shit on it. Of course, anyway, the opener let me down.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie. I didn't know what to expect.
- 13:51Speaker 1: They've had a lot of great openers, even after the
- 13:53Speaker 1: first one. The first one's obviously an all timer. I
- 13:56Speaker 1: like this the second movie opener as well. Honestly, one, two, three, four,
- 14:01Speaker 1: to me are all great openers. What's the opener in five?
- 14:05Speaker 1: Oh it's Jenn Ortega. You know. This is the worst
- 14:09Speaker 1: opener of all time, that's for sure, because even the
- 14:11Speaker 1: opener in six I thought was pretty great. So worst
- 14:14Speaker 1: opener of all time. That kind of sucks, but it
- 14:19Speaker 1: is what it is. I guess I don't know who's
- 14:22Speaker 1: to blame for that, Kevin Williamson maybe. You know. I
- 14:27Speaker 1: had a lot of mixed feelings about going into this
- 14:29Speaker 1: knowing that it's a Kevin Williamson movie, because the last
- 14:32Speaker 1: Kevin Williamson movie I watched was Teaching Missus Tingle. That
- 14:36Speaker 1: movie fucking sucks. It just does. It's not fun to watch.
- 14:40Speaker 1: It's kind of a drag. It's another one though that
- 14:43Speaker 1: the original script was affected because of the Columbine shooting,
- 14:47Speaker 1: so you know that's a cop out for it. I
- 14:50Speaker 1: guess you could say that's cope, Kevin Williamson coping about
- 14:54Speaker 1: the movie or whatever, but it is the truth. He
- 14:56Speaker 1: did have to change it because of the Columbine shooting
- 14:59Speaker 1: and stuff. So but it sucks, and it's one of
- 15:01Speaker 1: those things that just sticks with you where it's like,
- 15:03Speaker 1: he's clearly a good writer. The only problem is that
- 15:07Speaker 1: he basically wrote the same movie over and over again.
- 15:11Speaker 1: And that's kind of what I was a little bit
- 15:13Speaker 1: like worried about with this one, because Scream one and two,
- 15:16Speaker 1: I mean in a lot of ways, same format, same setup,
- 15:21Speaker 1: basically the same movie. And then The Faculty, which is
- 15:24Speaker 1: a great movie. One of my favorite Kevin Williamson movies,
- 15:26Speaker 1: one of my favorite nineties movies is basically Scream but
- 15:31Speaker 1: with aliens. So you know, it's kind of like you
- 15:34Speaker 1: just copy and paste that shit. But then he's like,
- 15:36Speaker 1: what if it was a sci fi movie instead of
- 15:38Speaker 1: a slasher? You got another fucking hit on your hands.
- 15:43Speaker 1: But as a director, you know, I'm not so sure
- 15:45Speaker 1: how much I trust him. Obviously had Wes Craven and
- 15:49Speaker 1: Robert Rodriguez behind him for these other projects, so it's like, man,
- 15:55Speaker 1: you know, I don't know, maybe just stick to writing.
- 15:57Speaker 1: The next thing that I didn't like was the damned
- 16:00Speaker 1: drama teacher. The drama teacher just sucked ass. He just
- 16:03Speaker 1: felt like such a shit, such an unrealistic shit is
- 16:07Speaker 1: the problem. Like if he was a shithead, but he
- 16:09Speaker 1: was believable, that would be fine. But like Sidney Prescott's
- 16:13Speaker 1: daughter Tatum is in a fucking play where they're rehearsing
- 16:17Speaker 1: and her role is that she's like wearing a mascot
- 16:20Speaker 1: sized outfit of a dog, and she messes up by
- 16:23Speaker 1: like tripping or like getting hit by somebody and getting
- 16:26Speaker 1: knocked over, and the drama teacher is like, you know, cut, cut,
- 16:29Speaker 1: what the fuck's going on here? And there's other shit
- 16:32Speaker 1: that's messing up to it's not just her dog shit
- 16:35Speaker 1: costume that's like the problem or whatever. But he pulls
- 16:37Speaker 1: her to the side and he's like, listen, bitch, you
- 16:40Speaker 1: are Sidney Prescott's mother fucking daughter. I need you to
- 16:44Speaker 1: fucking step up as the dog puppet in this goddamn play.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I thought you would be more of a confident winner,
- 16:50Speaker 1: survivor and not some little push over bitch and my
- 16:53Speaker 1: fucking play or whatever, and It's just like nobody would
- 16:57Speaker 1: do that. You'd have to be insane to do that.
- 16:59Speaker 1: And maybe this, you know, maybe that is one of
- 17:01Speaker 1: those things. This guy's obviously like kind of a red
- 17:03Speaker 1: herring in the movie, or is he. I don't know.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I don't want to give away the ending, but uh no,
- 17:11Speaker 1: the drama teacher fucking sucks. The red herrings in general
- 17:15Speaker 1: kind of suck. Although they are necessary for a screen movie,
- 17:19Speaker 1: for who Done It movie? In general, you're always gonna
- 17:21Speaker 1: have red herrings. Not all of these are great, and
- 17:25Speaker 1: I'm not gonna list them all, but they're not great.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I'll just say that. So there's more than one killer
- 17:30Speaker 1: in this movie. I'm just gonna put that out there.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I'm not gonna get into details of why or how
- 17:34Speaker 1: or anything like that. But once we get to the
- 17:37Speaker 1: second killer, there's like a scene in a bar where
- 17:41Speaker 1: we get the rules scene, the Rules and Suspects scene
- 17:44Speaker 1: with all of Tatum's friends and shit like that. Mindy
- 17:46Speaker 1: and Chad are there. Mindy and Chad are kind of
- 17:49Speaker 1: like indifferent to me in this movie. I'm kind of
- 17:51Speaker 1: like lukewarm on them, you know. I like Chad. I
- 17:55Speaker 1: think he's a great character. I still don't really like Mindy.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I mean, she kind of plays the same character which
- 18:01Speaker 1: I didn't really like her in the other movies, so
- 18:02Speaker 1: that's fine, but just in general, Mendy's not my favorite.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I don't know, she does the rules thing, she kind
- 18:09Speaker 1: of goes over the suspect list. In this bar, there's
- 18:12Speaker 1: a ghost face interaction and apparently the second ghost face
- 18:17Speaker 1: killer has a skull made out of granite, because he
- 18:21Speaker 1: gets hit in the head with the meat tenderizer full
- 18:25Speaker 1: blast and just like does one of those things where
- 18:28Speaker 1: it just like rocks his head to the side and
- 18:30Speaker 1: then he looks back like did you really think that
- 18:33Speaker 1: was gonna fuck me up? And it's like, yeah, that
- 18:35Speaker 1: would probably kill you, or at least knock your skull in.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I mean, if Billy Loomis is getting knocked out by
- 18:40Speaker 1: a fucking umbrella attack to the chest, a meat tenderizer
- 18:43Speaker 1: to the skull should probably knock you out or down
- 18:46Speaker 1: or make you feel a little weak in the legs
- 18:49Speaker 1: at the very least. But anyway, not only does he
- 18:51Speaker 1: get hit in the skull with the fucking meat tenderizer,
- 18:54Speaker 1: right after that, he gets hit in the head with
- 18:56Speaker 1: something else. I think that like chatter. I can't remember
- 18:59Speaker 1: who it was. Somebody hits him right after that again,
- 19:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he gets hit with one of those big
- 19:04Speaker 1: wooden like pizza pans, you know, the ones with the
- 19:07Speaker 1: long handles on it, like straight up full on baseball swings.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Right after he just got hit with this fucking meat
- 19:14Speaker 1: tender eiser, and he does the same thing. He just
- 19:16Speaker 1: like takes the shot and just like looks back like nope,
- 19:20Speaker 1: I'm just gonna eat that shit and keep coming. He
- 19:22Speaker 1: just keeps serving him up and I'm just gonna keep
- 19:25Speaker 1: fucking coming and you can never stop me. It's like,
- 19:28Speaker 1: who the fuck is this guy? Was this guy the
- 19:29Speaker 1: fucking terminator or something? And then he picks a character up.
- 19:33Speaker 1: This is the silly kill that I was talking about earlier.
- 19:36Speaker 1: That's pretty funny. Actually, at first I was like, no,
- 19:39Speaker 1: I hate this, but it keeps going to the point
- 19:42Speaker 1: where it's absurd and funny and I ended up liking it.
- 19:45Speaker 1: But he picks this character up by the head with
- 19:48Speaker 1: two hands, and this guy's basically almost dead, you know,
- 19:51Speaker 1: he's got him. Like at that point, I'm like, the
- 19:54Speaker 1: Killer's Kane, It's Kine, or it's the undertaker under there
- 19:58Speaker 1: who's the killer. Even though he's like a f five
- 20:00Speaker 1: foot ten guy, you know, just like an average build,
- 20:02Speaker 1: five foot ten guy. Somehow he's strong enough to pick
- 20:05Speaker 1: this guy up by the head with his bare hands.
- 20:08Speaker 1: It's like, all right, if it wasn't so silly, I
- 20:11Speaker 1: would hate this, But it's so silly that I ended
- 20:13Speaker 1: up loving it actually, so that is one of the
- 20:16Speaker 1: better parts of the movie. One some of the things
- 20:20Speaker 1: that I was kind of like indifferent about, I guess,
- 20:23Speaker 1: like the rules suspect scene. To me, it wasn't that
- 20:28Speaker 1: great in this one. I thought it was all right,
- 20:30Speaker 1: but it just felt like they were doing it because
- 20:32Speaker 1: they have to do it, you know what I mean.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Another thing that was kind of leaning towards something I
- 20:37Speaker 1: didn't like was the camera work, especially in this bar scene.
- 20:40Speaker 1: It feels very like made for TV for some reason.
- 20:43Speaker 1: It's like the way that the it's almost like the
- 20:46Speaker 1: speed that the camera is panning as things are happening
- 20:50Speaker 1: makes it feel kind of cheap for some for whatever reason,
- 20:53Speaker 1: like almost like soap operash or like Riverdale ish, you
- 20:55Speaker 1: know what I mean. It feels like a little too smooth,
- 20:58Speaker 1: and it feels like the camera never like sits still,
- 21:03Speaker 1: but it also doesn't feel like chaotic. I don't know
- 21:05Speaker 1: how to explain it exactly. I guess that's probably the
- 21:08Speaker 1: best way I can explain it. There's also some really
- 21:11Speaker 1: fucking dumb dess in this movie that could have just
- 21:13Speaker 1: been avoided. Like there's scenes where a character will be
- 21:17Speaker 1: talking to another character while they're being stalked by ghost Face,
- 21:20Speaker 1: and then you know, like a Red Herring character will
- 21:23Speaker 1: run up and now they know that that's not the killer,
- 21:27Speaker 1: and they're just like, instead of being like, hey, the
- 21:30Speaker 1: fucking killer's here, we need to shut the fuck up,
- 21:32Speaker 1: we need to go hide and run or something like that,
- 21:35Speaker 1: they just kind of stand around and like talk and
- 21:37Speaker 1: they're just like, oh shit, I'm so glad you're here.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Oh shit, yeah, me too, And like ghost Face was
- 21:41Speaker 1: literally just around the corner and then he pops out
- 21:43Speaker 1: and kills the fuck out of one of them, and
- 21:45Speaker 1: it's just like, what what world are we living in here?
- 21:49Speaker 1: Where you want to be like fight or flight as fuck?
- 21:52Speaker 1: Right now? Like a guy has been killing all your friends,
- 21:55Speaker 1: He's been chasing you down with a big ass knife,
- 21:57Speaker 1: and he's obviously trying to kill you and your mom
- 22:00Speaker 1: and all this other shit, and then one of your
- 22:01Speaker 1: other friends runs up, and instead of being like we
- 22:04Speaker 1: gotta run, anotherfucker, he's right there and you're making all
- 22:06Speaker 1: sorts of noise so we can't hide anymore. They just
- 22:09Speaker 1: kind of stand there and they're like, oh, yeah, glad
- 22:12Speaker 1: you're not to kill her. Oh fuck, now I'm dead.
- 22:14Speaker 1: It's like, all right, let's just not do that anymore.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Let's use our fucking brains for a second. So the
- 22:20Speaker 1: final thing, the final showdown for this movie. The main
- 22:24Speaker 1: criticism that I've seen for this movie is the big reveal.
- 22:29Speaker 1: The big reveal is I feel like the thing that
- 22:31Speaker 1: I've seen criticize the most, and the reveal isn't great.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I'm just got I gotta keep it one hundred. I
- 22:39Speaker 1: gotta be completely honest about the reveal. It's not a
- 22:42Speaker 1: great reveal. What I will say about it is that
- 22:46Speaker 1: it's better than the reveal and Scream six. You're never
- 22:48Speaker 1: gonna convince me. Scream six has the worst reveal and
- 22:51Speaker 1: the worst ending to any of the Scream movies. That's
- 22:55Speaker 1: all there is to it. The fight scene that follows
- 22:59Speaker 1: the reveal and screen is decent, though we get Sydney
- 23:03Speaker 1: battling it out. You know, she's kicking some ass, She's
- 23:06Speaker 1: getting her ass kicked a little bit. There's a lot
- 23:08Speaker 1: of resilience there. Her daughter gets thrown into the mix, Tatum,
- 23:12Speaker 1: So it's fun for me. I thought it was comparable
- 23:16Speaker 1: to the fight scene in Scream three, like the ending
- 23:19Speaker 1: fight scene between Sydney and Roman Bridges. That's what it
- 23:22Speaker 1: reminded me of. Anyway. There's a couple reasons for that,
- 23:26Speaker 1: but I won't get into them too much. Maybe like
- 23:28Speaker 1: the resiliency we'll say of the ghost face, reminded me
- 23:32Speaker 1: of Roman Bridges a little bit. You know, I don't
- 23:34Speaker 1: know if my rating for this movie will change. As
- 23:37Speaker 1: of right now. I would say it would probably be
- 23:39Speaker 1: like a three out of five if I was gonna
- 23:40Speaker 1: put it down on Litterboxed. I'll probably come out with
- 23:43Speaker 1: the video ranking the screen movies, as I'm sure everyone will,
- 23:47Speaker 1: but I just rewatched them. Also, I feel like I
- 23:49Speaker 1: might as well, you know what I'm saying, might as
- 23:50Speaker 1: well do one of those damn videos and make so
- 23:53Speaker 1: much money off of it because everyone's going to be
- 23:55Speaker 1: so curious about the Scream rankings. Last, but not least,
- 24:00Speaker 1: check into my predictions and see if I got any
- 24:02Speaker 1: of these fucking predictions right. Number One, I said, the
- 24:06Speaker 1: timeline is gonna feel kind of fucked up because of
- 24:08Speaker 1: Scream five and six. You know, I don't necessarily agree
- 24:13Speaker 1: with that. They mentioned in New York Ship a couple
- 24:15Speaker 1: times to Sydney, which I thought was, you know, it
- 24:18Speaker 1: at least shows continuity. It felt like a little bit
- 24:21Speaker 1: shoehorn in. But they didn't dwell on it. A couple
- 24:23Speaker 1: of times. Some characters were just like, yeah, you're lucky
- 24:26Speaker 1: you weren't there for New York Sydney. Good idea of
- 24:28Speaker 1: sitting that one out, because it was pretty fucked up.
- 24:30Speaker 1: People got fucking killed, and she's you know, it's like,
- 24:33Speaker 1: of course they did. It's a damn Scream movie, lady,
- 24:36Speaker 1: what are we doing here? Number Two, that Stu will
- 24:39Speaker 1: be back as either AI or a flashback or some
- 24:42Speaker 1: sort of like Billy and Randy or Maureen Prescott type
- 24:46Speaker 1: of situation. I did get that right, And that was
- 24:51Speaker 1: one that I think was just kind of obvious. With
- 24:53Speaker 1: all the Stu Mocker predictions and stuff like that and
- 24:57Speaker 1: fan theories. I felt like the the only reason they
- 25:00Speaker 1: would release that Stumacher was going to be in the movie,
- 25:03Speaker 1: or that you know, Matthew Lillard is going to be
- 25:05Speaker 1: in the movie. And they also I think had like
- 25:07Speaker 1: Roman Bridges and stuff advertises being in the movie and
- 25:11Speaker 1: all that stuff they got that played him Scott fully
- 25:13Speaker 1: I think is his name. Instantly, I was like, the
- 25:17Speaker 1: only reason they would do that is if it's a
- 25:19Speaker 1: red herring or like some sort of a fake out
- 25:22Speaker 1: and they do a I don't know, they do a
- 25:25Speaker 1: pretty good job with it in the movie. I'll say,
- 25:27Speaker 1: although there is like a big AI slop moment towards
- 25:30Speaker 1: the end that just feels like a big AI slop
- 25:33Speaker 1: bomb and it's kind of like it's a little too much.
- 25:37Speaker 1: I feel like if they would have maybe kept it
- 25:39Speaker 1: a little more subtle and rain that shit back in,
- 25:41Speaker 1: it would have made more sense. But yeah, there's a
- 25:43Speaker 1: moment at the end where there's like a maze of
- 25:46Speaker 1: AI slot that Sydney has to go through, and it's
- 25:48Speaker 1: just kind of like, yeah, you don't need that. Number three.
- 25:54Speaker 1: My prediction, my final prediction for the movie was that
- 25:56Speaker 1: Sydney would not die, but Gale would die. I thought
- 25:59Speaker 1: maybe since they killed off Dewey and Scream five and
- 26:04Speaker 1: they didn't really kill off any characters. And Scream six
- 26:06Speaker 1: that you know, we're like Staples in the franchise. I thought,
- 26:11Speaker 1: if they're gonna come back with Scream seven, they're gonna
- 26:14Speaker 1: do it bigger and better than ever. We got Sidney
- 26:16Speaker 1: Prescott back the main and bitch, you know, they're gonna
- 26:19Speaker 1: be coming out guns of blazing. Probably not kill Sidney.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Probably killed Gale though, but they didn't. Gale didn't die,
- 26:27Speaker 1: but Sidney also didn't die, so I was half right
- 26:29Speaker 1: on that. So I got one and a half out
- 26:31Speaker 1: of three. So you know, I'm fifty fifty on my predictions,
- 26:36Speaker 1: my Scream predictions. So that's it. Stay tuned for the
- 26:41Speaker 1: Scream six ending breakdown that's probably going to be next,
- 26:44Speaker 1: and then I'm sure we'll get into some Scream franking
- 26:47Speaker 1: ranchises and we'll go from there. Thanks for listening, good night,
