Speaker 1: Alex, Hey, what's going on? How you doing? Brother?
• 0:05
Speaker 2: Uh? He called me late at night, so no camera today,
• 0:07
Speaker 2: but I will tell you this. Do you guys know,
• 0:10
Speaker 2: I'm so excited to be on with you. By the way, Julian,
• 0:12
Speaker 2: it's going to be on your platform tonight.
• 0:15
  Speaker 1: Thanks bro.
• 0:15
Speaker 3: I mean I should have thown you soon and I
• 0:17
Speaker 3: would have gave you more notice. But it was always
• 0:19
Speaker 3: gonna be a late show because I do post games
• 0:21
Speaker 3: after the games sometimes, so I'll be hobbing in the
• 0:25
Speaker 3: next couple. Maybe we could plan a better one so
• 0:27
Speaker 3: we can get you on the camera. But everyone knows
• 0:29
Speaker 3: who look like so it's cool. Yeah, I appreciate you
• 0:32
  Speaker 3: going on.
• 0:33
Speaker 2: Oh no, no worries. Well I have I have thought
• 0:36
Speaker 2: about this whole game tonight before joining because for your listeners,
• 0:41
Speaker 2: you may not know. This is actually the thirty second
• 0:43
Speaker 2: anniversary of the Joe Carter game winning a home run
• 0:47
Speaker 2: to win the World Series. And how about how fitting
• 0:49
Speaker 2: is it? Thirty two years later they win their first
• 0:51
Speaker 2: World Series game since that night, So it's kind of
• 0:54
  Speaker 2: a that's full circle for a moment, but there's still
• 0:57
Speaker 2: a lot to go, and you know, do we think
• 1:00
Speaker 2: six year I don't think they're gonna sweep the Dodgers,
• 1:03
Speaker 2: maybe five or six.
• 1:04
Speaker 3: Though no, I'm still thinking Dodgers could get it one.
• 1:08
Speaker 3: Like my baseball mind is ruined for Toronto. I explain
• 1:11
Speaker 3: my part of my reasons why I actually did some
• 1:14
Speaker 3: of the full circles stuff with Joe Carter the Expos
• 1:16
Speaker 3: flatty like I'm getting into like this whole long winter
• 1:18
Speaker 3: to day with Don Madding. We like it's all coming
• 1:20
Speaker 3: together and it's actually the perfect time for you. So
• 1:23
Speaker 3: I was talking about ninety four, how it could have
• 1:25
Speaker 3: been a shop for the Expos to win the World Series.
• 1:27
Speaker 3: There was definitely the best team in the league that year,
• 1:30
Speaker 3: and then Don manningly on the other side, the Yankees
• 1:32
Speaker 3: were the best team in the American League. So we
• 1:34
Speaker 3: very well could have had a Yankees Expos World Series
• 1:36
Speaker 3: in nineteen ninety four, and that would have been crazy
• 1:39
Speaker 3: for millions different reasons. That could have changed baseball history
• 1:42
Speaker 3: because A it could have either gotten Maddingly a Rig
• 1:45
Speaker 3: as a player, or b it could have saved baseball
• 1:47
Speaker 3: Montreal because of the Expos. When that World Series ends
• 1:50
Speaker 3: up being the revenue they need, the team doesn't lose money,
• 1:52
Speaker 3: then they ends up keeping their players and they ends
• 1:55
Speaker 3: up probably staying in Montreal because they would have had
• 1:57
Speaker 3: a World Series championship, so it's.
• 1:59
Speaker 1: Been harder to move then.
• 2:01
Speaker 3: So I just that lockout was just extremely unfortunate and
• 2:05
Speaker 3: really poorly timed, and it's really upsetting. Now it's one
• 2:08
Speaker 3: of the birdsonother lockout after a twenty twenty sixth season.
• 2:13
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, I mean we are looking at that lockout.
• 2:15
Speaker 2: But I'll tell you I don't know. You know, David Cohne,
• 2:19
Speaker 2: he was very pivotal in that ninety four strike. He
• 2:22
Speaker 2: tried to get the deal going. The league wouldn't listen,
• 2:24
Speaker 2: but he played such a role in trying to avoid
• 2:27
Speaker 2: that strike. I gotta give him credit for that and
• 2:30
Speaker 2: really being a player's player, you know, he really advocated
• 2:33
Speaker 2: in ninety four. But yeah, that is interesting because obviously
• 2:37
Speaker 2: the expos tragic, although I mean, in a way, you
• 2:41
Speaker 2: could consider what happened in twenty nineteen their victory also
• 2:45
Speaker 2: because that's did be were the offset of the expos,
• 2:51
Speaker 2: if you will, So there's a bit of that too,
• 2:54
Speaker 2: But I get your point. And of course Flag Carrero.
• 2:56
Speaker 1: Now yes, that's the third layer of this.
• 3:00
Speaker 2: A lot of y indie fans, and I included always
• 3:04
Speaker 2: think Glad Junior talks a lot, chirps a lot, if
• 3:08
Speaker 2: you will, but he's a very talented guy.
• 3:11
  Speaker 1: He is.
• 3:12
Speaker 2: There's a reason they locked him up for fourteen years
• 3:15
Speaker 2: up in Toronto. They signed him fourteen years for a
• 3:17
Speaker 2: good reason. And I think he's one of the energizers
• 3:20
Speaker 2: of that team, there's no doubt about it. But I
• 3:22
Speaker 2: know that you want to tell the story about Glad
• 3:24
Speaker 2: because and maybe I missed that part, but.
• 3:27
Speaker 3: No, I didn't fully get into it yet that might
• 3:29
Speaker 3: were actually get into that now.
• 3:30
Speaker 1: That was like my third layer this.
• 3:31
Speaker 3: I went down the rabbit hole of like ninety four Montreal, Toronto,
• 3:35
Speaker 3: the Walkout Man, and we now were at the point.
• 3:37
Speaker 1: With the Vladdies. So the Guerrero's for lack of a
• 3:40
Speaker 1: better terms, so go ahead.
• 3:43
Speaker 2: But before we get there, I mean, I don't know
• 3:45
Speaker 2: if you saw this. They were a Dalton of our show.
• 3:48
Speaker 2: His father played with a Dulton on let me See
• 3:52
Speaker 2: Baseballer had this great.
• 3:56
  Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know.
• 3:58
  Speaker 3: You know what's funny, I didn't know varshows they're played
• 4:00
Speaker 3: until recently. I think I may have like briefly faitn
• 4:03
Speaker 3: doing that, but then like I didn't like fully ungrasp that.
• 4:06
Speaker 2: Can we just say this, This Blue Jay team has
• 4:08
Speaker 2: been a long time coming. Look, I know last year
• 4:11
Speaker 2: they finished him last, but I've always thought their lineup
• 4:14
Speaker 2: is one of the best in the Al East overall
• 4:17
Speaker 2: and in the American League overall. They always tried out Guerrero,
• 4:21
Speaker 2: but shit, I mean they had Bautista, they had all
• 4:23
Speaker 2: these uh Kevin I'm his other name, but they always
• 4:27
  Speaker 2: had these guys.
• 4:28
Speaker 3: Kevin Pillar was actually talking a lot about the series
• 4:31
Speaker 3: and he actually thinks the Blue Jays are gonna win
• 4:33
Speaker 3: it all. So and he did spend some time with
• 4:35
Speaker 3: the Dodgers, so I think that was noteworthy to see
• 4:38
  Speaker 3: from him.
• 4:39
Speaker 2: Well yeah, and I'm just saying all these these lineups
• 4:43
Speaker 2: have always been solid for Toronto, no matter what year.
• 4:46
Speaker 2: I remember, this was a Toronto team that could barely
• 4:49
Speaker 2: sell out the SkyDome and it would really only be
• 4:52
Speaker 2: filled up with the Yanks, rup there a Red Sox
• 4:55
Speaker 2: team or whatever else. I also remember they were struggling,
• 4:58
Speaker 2: remember the Catalanado days where they just it was a
• 5:01
Speaker 2: rough stretch for the Toronto Blue Jays, and they had
• 5:04
Speaker 2: some really good talent. They had Vernon Wells Catalinado, I
• 5:07
Speaker 2: can go on and on about.
• 5:08
Speaker 3: The Remember Carlo Stellato was one of my favorite players.
• 5:13
Speaker 2: Remember the catcher at the time.
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: Roy Halladay.
• 5:18
Speaker 3: Obviously Roy Halliday one of the best pitchers we ever
• 5:21
Speaker 3: got to see throw the ball, so he was obviously well.
• 5:26
Speaker 2: Yeah, and and you know, just it was. Uh, it
• 5:29
Speaker 2: was a rough stretch because the Yanks would always beat
• 5:30
Speaker 2: up on them a little bit over the years. But
• 5:34
Speaker 2: but twenty fifteen they changed the corner. Then all of
• 5:38
Speaker 2: a sudden, Uh, they have that influx of Guerrero and
• 5:42
Speaker 2: Bashett and those two alone have been cornerstones to a
• 5:45
Speaker 2: lineup that now has you know, an Adulton verse show
• 5:49
Speaker 2: if you will. Alejandro Kirk, I mean, what what a
• 5:53
Speaker 2: postseason he's had. And people don't really talking about him,
• 5:56
Speaker 2: but he had that big series against the Yanks. He
• 5:58
Speaker 2: had Tonight's big two homer. And by the way, Julian,
• 6:01
Speaker 2: we were talking about this off air, did tonight's Game one.
• 6:05
Speaker 2: Joe Davis makes him really he's doing good, but he
• 6:08
Speaker 2: makes some really odd comments, like he said tonight's Game
• 6:12
Speaker 2: one reminded him of the opening game versus or maybe
• 6:15
Speaker 2: smallst of that versus the Mariners. I'm like, Noah, didn't
• 6:18
Speaker 2: it remind me of Game one of the Alds. Okay,
• 6:21
Speaker 2: they shut down the Yanks hitting and then all of
• 6:24
Speaker 2: a sudden they explode for that for all those runs
• 6:28
Speaker 2: and in Game one, and they didn't look back. So
• 6:30
Speaker 2: I mean, this is looking like a blueprint for Game one.
• 6:34
Speaker 2: Now people are saying, well, they've just exposed the weaknesses
• 6:37
Speaker 2: of the Dodgers. And by the way, I keep talking here, Julian,
• 6:41
Speaker 2: because I'm fired up, I'm sure you are as well. Yeah,
• 6:45
Speaker 2: Blake Snell, does that not give you reminders of what
• 6:48
Speaker 2: happened in twenty twenty when Kevin Cash pulled him against
• 6:51
Speaker 2: the Dodgers as a member of the Rays team and
• 6:54
Speaker 2: the Dodgers take advantage.
• 6:55
Speaker 3: I mean, the only issue, only saying, I'll say it
• 7:00
Speaker 3: was different was that Snell was not in command tonight
• 7:03
Speaker 3: like he was that night. He Roberts tried to stretch
• 7:07
Speaker 3: Snell as long as he could, but like your similar analogies,
• 7:10
Speaker 3: that the bullpens both imploded. So I can I can
• 7:13
Speaker 3: understand that part of it. I think Blake Snell was
• 7:15
Speaker 3: due for a bad start, I really do. I'm not
• 7:18
Speaker 3: shocked the Blue Jays one tonight. I'm shocked by how
• 7:21
Speaker 3: much they won by Like I'm not. I couldn't. There
• 7:24
Speaker 3: was definitely many passes bue Jays to win, but I
• 7:26
Speaker 3: didn't see an eleven to four blowout coming.
• 7:29
Speaker 2: And you know it's great. It wasn't just a black girl,
• 7:33
Speaker 2: it was an Addison Burger pinchick.
• 7:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the thing. I mean, that's history right there.
• 7:40
Speaker 3: It was never happened in the World Series before a pinchick.
• 7:42
Speaker 3: Ranselam Let's on left too, like Schneider, I mean, Roberts
• 7:46
Speaker 3: tried to out dule Schneider in the box. David Schneider
• 7:49
Speaker 3: got pinched and the manager and he failed miserably there.
• 7:53
Speaker 3: Bondo was awful and like I talked about before, BESSI yeah,
• 7:57
Speaker 3: losing Vessie as a tough blow. I feel terribly foreign
• 8:00
Speaker 3: him in the whole situation, whatever it is. But like,
• 8:02
Speaker 3: that's gonna really hurt their bullpen because their bullpen stinks.
• 8:05
Speaker 3: Let's just call Spade and Spade, their bullpen is bad.
• 8:07
Speaker 2: The only guy you trust looking into Sasaki to help
• 8:11
Speaker 2: him get the next couple of games here. So and
• 8:14
  Speaker 2: that's a rookie right there. So that's that's interesting. Now,
• 8:18
Speaker 2: I want to make this point.
• 8:21
Speaker 3: The only guy I trust that that bullpen is Sasaki
• 8:24
Speaker 3: though even as a rookie. He's the only guy I
• 8:26
Speaker 3: trust in the Dodgers bullpen right now, and that's a problem.
• 8:28
Speaker 3: He's literally the only dude I feel good about coming
• 8:31
Speaker 3: out of the Dodgers bullpen.
• 8:33
Speaker 2: Yeah no, I mean I know trying as well.
• 8:36
Speaker 3: I don't trust him at all. I can see the
• 8:37
Speaker 3: Blue Jays rocking when he comes in. He's also up
• 8:40
Speaker 3: there too. He's been around for a while now.
• 8:42
Speaker 2: And the other thing is when we see Kershaw, I
• 8:46
Speaker 2: think he's gonna pitch at some point.
• 8:48
Speaker 3: He might get lit up too. Honestly, he might be
• 8:51
Speaker 3: food for the Blue Jay. It's like we don't know.
• 8:53
Speaker 3: Maybe he'll spin back one more, but like we know
• 8:55
Speaker 3: his postseason struggles and only that goes down that rabbit hole,
• 8:58
Speaker 3: and he's really at the end now, holding onwards dear life.
• 9:01
Speaker 3: So he did pitch wells in the regular season, but
• 9:04
Speaker 3: he has not sown much in the playoffs, and actually
• 9:08
Speaker 3: has he appeared in the postseasons, and he got an
• 9:09
Speaker 3: appearance against the Trying He was off the DS roster
• 9:15
Speaker 3: to he go, and I gotta look at this now,
• 9:17
Speaker 3: let me just check.
• 9:18
Speaker 2: I want to make sure as you're checking, I want to.
• 9:20
Speaker 1: I want to Yeah, go ahead, my bag, go ahead.
• 9:23
Speaker 2: The fact that a lot of our Yank universe is
• 9:26
Speaker 2: anti anti Bluejays. Meanwhile, I look at it as look,
• 9:33
Speaker 2: let me check the Dodgers, and I'm gonna say, fat
• 9:36
Speaker 2: out embarrassed the Inks in their home field in Game five.
• 9:40
  Speaker 2: And I don't think I can root for a Dodger
• 9:44
Speaker 2: too to repeat, because there's a legacy thing here where
• 9:47
Speaker 2: the Yankees still are the only team.
• 9:50
Speaker 1: And it really a racing time.
• 9:52
Speaker 2: Yeah, to do back to back, and I would love
• 9:54
Speaker 2: it for the Yanks to keep that title.
• 9:56
Speaker 3: That's literally the only thing they have left to keep
• 9:59
Speaker 3: at this point by the legas everything else is gone,
• 10:01
Speaker 3: all no styalgia is gone. They haven't won fifteen to
• 10:03
Speaker 3: sixteen years. Like the way we used to think of
• 10:06
Speaker 3: the Yankees is very close to dead. So that would
• 10:08
Speaker 3: be the last pillar to knock it off, honestly, Like,
• 10:11
Speaker 3: this is not the Yankees we grew up with at all.
• 10:14
Speaker 2: And it's crazy because next year we're gonna start celebrating
• 10:16
Speaker 2: thirty years of all these teams, so that's gonna be
• 10:20
Speaker 2: interesting in ninety six. Yeah, so we'll have to see.
• 10:25
Speaker 2: But no, I just it would be nice if the
• 10:27
Speaker 2: Jays did that. And also Donnie Baseball. I mean, people
• 10:32
Speaker 2: who are true Yankee fans know the journey of Don
• 10:35
  Speaker 2: Don Mattingly.
• 10:36
Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know as well as I showed because
• 10:38
Speaker 3: it was a lot before my time, but like I
• 10:40
Speaker 3: understand most of it.
• 10:42
Speaker 2: And well just as struggles trying to, you know, get
• 10:46
Speaker 2: to the managerial role. I had forgotten you with Yankee
• 10:49
Speaker 2: hitting coach from four to seven as well.
• 10:52
Speaker 3: That feels Florence in me. I don't even remember that,
• 10:54
Speaker 3: to be honest with you.
• 10:55
Speaker 2: And then I I of course actually interacted with him
• 10:58
Speaker 2: when he was the Marlins man the week that I
• 11:02
Speaker 2: think Jeter had something that went down with the team
• 11:07
Speaker 2: in the Marlins and was stanton. Anyway, Don had a
• 11:11
Speaker 2: even nice to talk to, like he's just.
• 11:14
  Speaker 1: He's yeah.
• 11:16
Speaker 2: So I would be excited for him to win it.
• 11:18
Speaker 2: And plus I said this on Facebook. I said, uh,
• 11:24
Speaker 2: Gary Thorn when he had that, Homer said, hang on
• 11:27
Speaker 2: to the roof. Now there's literally a roof over this
• 11:31
Speaker 2: world series and it was rocket. I mean, you talk
• 11:36
Speaker 2: about the energy. I wish he and by the way
• 11:39
Speaker 2: the wild Card series against the Red Sox was the
• 11:41
Speaker 2: most energy I felt in a Yankee postseason, and we
• 11:44
Speaker 2: won a championship in that building. But this past uh
• 11:48
Speaker 2: Wildcard against the Red Sox was electric, like there.
• 11:51
  Speaker 1: Was were there.
• 11:53
Speaker 2: We were there the night they clinched it, and I
• 11:54
Speaker 2: just felt that in the ballpark that night.
• 11:57
Speaker 1: I was traveling, but it looked cool.
• 12:00
Speaker 2: But we don't get that often, you know what.
• 12:02
  Speaker 1: I mean, I don't.
• 12:03
Speaker 3: It's not like the old stadium, like oh nine, we
• 12:05
Speaker 3: have some cool runs. Like I'll tell you the best
• 12:07
Speaker 3: time I felt the energy in that stadium. It was
• 12:10
Speaker 3: twenty seventeen when the Yankees were down twelve against the
• 12:13
Speaker 3: Astros and they won Game three. And then the time
• 12:16
Speaker 3: when they came back against Cleveland when Greg Bird hit
• 12:19
  Speaker 3: the homer.
• 12:20
Speaker 2: About seventeen Wildcard game against the Twins.
• 12:22
Speaker 1: On that one too, that one too.
• 12:24
Speaker 3: Actually, I feel like the twenty seventeen time was when
• 12:27
Speaker 3: I felt the highest energy levels in that stadium. That's
• 12:29
Speaker 3: when I felt it when I was there. But I
• 12:32
Speaker 3: was not there for Boston full discretion, So maybe you're right.
• 12:35
Speaker 3: The twenty seventeen run to me was the one because
• 12:38
Speaker 3: like that was a team that under overachieved. That's the
• 12:41
Speaker 3: only Yankees team that really overachieved, and the it's not
• 12:45
  Speaker 3: the Boone ever.
• 12:45
  Speaker 1: Actually, I'm sorry.
• 12:47
Speaker 3: That's the only Yankees team in recent memory that's actually
• 12:50
Speaker 3: overachieved in my opinion for the most No, no, no,
• 12:54
Speaker 3: it was Girardi's ending. It was Girardi's ending.
• 12:57
  Speaker 1: Seventeen.
• 12:58
Speaker 3: You can make an argument day over each, even the
• 13:00
Speaker 3: twenty nineteen with all the injuries. But other than that,
• 13:02
Speaker 3: this Yankees team has not my expectations. They have not
• 13:05
Speaker 3: over achieves at all. Maybe nineteen with all the injuries,
• 13:08
Speaker 3: and seventeen when you're already I felt the best energy
• 13:10
Speaker 3: in seventeen. That's just me personally. But I was not
• 13:15
Speaker 3: there this year, so maybe a top that.
• 13:17
Speaker 2: Oh it did? I mean, you had Boston sucks chance
• 13:20
  Speaker 2: going out?
• 13:20
Speaker 1: Well, it is Boston, Yeah, it's true.
• 13:23
Speaker 2: It felt it felt good.
• 13:25
Speaker 1: I'll take you were for it.
• 13:26
Speaker 2: We hadn't won a postseason series against the Red Sox
• 13:29
Speaker 2: in twenty two years.
• 13:30
Speaker 3: Which is actually absurd, but like that's a whole nother
• 13:33
  Speaker 3: problem anyway.
• 13:36
Speaker 2: I mean, look, and I still think Boom won one
• 13:40
Speaker 2: hundred games his first three years for a reason, which
• 13:43
Speaker 2: is as he stuck with his gut, Like I'll always
• 13:45
Speaker 2: say that. I think that's why they won one hundred.
• 13:48
Speaker 1: Quite a roster in twenty nineteen.
• 13:50
Speaker 3: He was good. He was really good in twenty nineteen.
• 13:53
Speaker 3: That was the best job I thought he did.
• 13:55
Speaker 2: Because Game way, I'll never get the Djyu's homer and
• 14:00
Speaker 2: I'm like, all right, we're going to the World Series again,
• 14:03
  Speaker 2: and then.
• 14:03
Speaker 3: All of a sudden, the only thing is that Game
• 14:06
Speaker 3: seven would have been cold against the weak several Reno
• 14:08
Speaker 3: So I'm not even sure if they would have wont that,
• 14:10
Speaker 3: to be honest with you, like you, if you if
• 14:12
Speaker 3: you wanted to like put yourself, if you wanted to
• 14:14
Speaker 3: go down that rabbit hole, if they would have gone there,
• 14:17
Speaker 3: But you never know. It's a game seven. They were
• 14:19
Speaker 3: a fourth to seven. It would have been a big win.
• 14:21
Speaker 3: So let's go back to the whole Guerrero dynamic, because
• 14:25
Speaker 3: I find the Guerrero dynamic very interesting.
• 14:27
  Speaker 1: Here.
• 14:28
Speaker 3: I'm not gonna say it's underrated because it's being talked about,
• 14:30
Speaker 3: but like I feel like it's not being talked about
• 14:32
Speaker 3: enough because you will get what Vladimir Guerrero seniors did,
• 14:36
Speaker 3: and he was one of the best players in the league,
• 14:39
Speaker 3: his Hall of Fame player. The guy can hit any ball,
• 14:41
Speaker 3: doesn't matter where it was thrown. He was like the
• 14:44
Speaker 3: face of the Expos too. And that's why, Like when
• 14:46
Speaker 3: I was a kid, I like thought the Expos were
• 14:48
Speaker 3: cool because I like their designs, Like they played in
• 14:51
Speaker 3: this dome in Montreal, like it's in Canada. Like Vlady
• 14:53
Speaker 3: Guerrero is like a Spanish legend playing in Quebec. Like
• 14:57
Speaker 3: he's one of the best hitters you'll ever see. He
• 15:00
Speaker 3: his rocket arm and right field like he did he
• 15:03
Speaker 3: quit so many things well on the fields. And then
• 15:06
Speaker 3: I got to meet Vladdie when I was sixteen. I
• 15:10
Speaker 3: went to Anaheim. They were doing with some type of
• 15:12
Speaker 3: pictures today for fans, so I met him. Tory Hunter
• 15:16
Speaker 3: Mark to Sharon and k Rod. So I have a
• 15:19
Speaker 3: picture of Laddie I posted recently, and I was like,
• 15:21
Speaker 3: I'm rooting for Vladdy's son to win the World Series.
• 15:24
Speaker 3: I want to see him get the ring for his
• 15:26
Speaker 3: father because like he says, he's gonna give the ring
• 15:29
Speaker 3: to the father. And the fact that Laddie Junior is
• 15:31
Speaker 3: even coming close is following the footsteps and making his
• 15:34
Speaker 3: own paths, like really incredible to me because think about
• 15:38
Speaker 3: how many players have failed in similar situations that Vladd
• 15:41
Speaker 3: Junior finds himself in. Most of those guys don't turn
• 15:44
Speaker 3: out to be nearly as good. I mean, there are
• 15:46
Speaker 3: some good father son duos, don't get me wrong, but like,
• 15:49
Speaker 3: this could be one of the best we've ever seen
• 15:51
Speaker 3: in MLB history, rivaling the Bondses and rival in the Griffies.
• 15:55
Speaker 2: Probably it's kind of a sad we didn't get to
• 15:59
Speaker 2: see them on the same field. But I'll tell you,
• 16:04
Speaker 2: I just remember when he was coming up Plat Girl
• 16:07
Speaker 2: Junior just so clutch, And that's why you don't really
• 16:10
Speaker 2: like him, because he actually has that clutch, arrogant thing
• 16:14
Speaker 2: about him. But also, I'm sure you might get to
• 16:16
Speaker 2: know him. He's probably a decent guy beyond all that.
• 16:19
Speaker 3: I haven't gone to yet, but I'm looking forward to
• 16:22
Speaker 3: it hopefully next year. I've heard good things about him
• 16:25
Speaker 3: and know his English is getting a little bit better,
• 16:27
Speaker 3: so like it might be easier for me to speak
• 16:29
Speaker 3: to him, and I'm gonna try to get better as bad.
• 16:32
Speaker 2: I'll never forget he would hit the ball with knee
• 16:36
  Speaker 2: on the ground.
• 16:37
Speaker 1: I used to love watching his highlights I really did.
• 16:40
Speaker 2: And the other way you wouldn't think about it, right,
• 16:44
Speaker 2: he'd go he try get underneath the ball, and somehow
• 16:47
Speaker 2: he went the other way for a homer. It was
• 16:49
Speaker 2: like how did he do that? You know?
• 16:51
Speaker 3: He was incredible, man, Like I'm upset he never won
• 16:54
Speaker 3: the World Series ring either, honestly, So this is the
• 16:57
Speaker 3: closest he can come to getting one, and I I
• 17:00
Speaker 3: just want to see that on the fields, like the
• 17:02
Speaker 3: celebration with the father and his song everything, like that's
• 17:05
Speaker 3: like legacy stuff right there. And then like you look
• 17:08
Speaker 3: at the hometown's making the Republic going crazy. When Bladdie
• 17:11
Speaker 3: got to the World Series, they were going nuts, like
• 17:13
Speaker 3: barely Eddie lights out over there, like everyone's still rallying
• 17:16
Speaker 3: watching the baseball game and that's what they love down there.
• 17:20
Speaker 3: So like they really galvanized three countries if you think
• 17:23
Speaker 3: about it as dr Kid in the US, because Gladdie
• 17:25
Speaker 3: was in the Angels who obviously, and then he ended
• 17:27
  Speaker 3: with the Rangers.
• 17:28
Speaker 1: So like, I just think it's a crazy situation.
• 17:32
Speaker 3: Like he's so happy for his son too, and like
• 17:35
Speaker 3: to see it all coming fruition, like how they thought
• 17:37
Speaker 3: it was absolutely crazy because like, yeah, if Laddie Junior
• 17:40
Speaker 3: was extremely gifted automatically, but like it's not like he
• 17:44
Speaker 3: didn't work cards to get to where he is at,
• 17:46
Speaker 3: Like he works extremely hard to make his own legacy.
• 17:49
Speaker 3: And the fact that he's hitting all these homers in
• 17:51
Speaker 3: the playoffs and the fact that he's the craziest stat
• 17:54
Speaker 3: I heard tonight was that he's hit six home runs
• 17:57
Speaker 3: he struck out three times in the postseason amazing. I
• 18:02
  Speaker 3: I can't believe that's I can't even believe that's real.
• 18:05
Speaker 2: I'm sure Schlittler might strikeout, struck out.
• 18:09
Speaker 3: I don't know who did who ever did his picture
• 18:11
Speaker 3: really well? I mean it's almost like and almost it's
• 18:15
Speaker 3: like Joe Tubolgio stuff right there, Like that's what.
• 18:20
Speaker 2: Route stuff too. Yeah, yeah, six and then three homers.
• 18:25
Speaker 3: That that's what I'm still in I'm still in disbelief
• 18:29
Speaker 3: that that took place. And I don't even know if
• 18:31
Speaker 3: baby never did that, especially in the postseason game. That's
• 18:34
Speaker 3: probably the best performance of all time in the playoffs.
• 18:38
Speaker 3: So like it's really crazy to me how that all
• 18:41
Speaker 3: is going to going down. So like I think that
• 18:44
Speaker 3: here's how I see the series playing out. My original
• 18:47
Speaker 3: prediction was Dodgers and six, so we have now shipped
• 18:50
Speaker 3: to Dodgers and seven, so now it's getting closer to
• 18:53
Speaker 3: getting off the Dodgers wagon here. But I did say
• 18:57
Speaker 3: it will go one to one, so I do think
• 18:58
Speaker 3: the Dodgers win tomorrow. I think they probably win the
• 19:02
Speaker 3: Otani start. I think the Blue Jays win the glass
• 19:05
Speaker 3: Now start, so you're gonna be squared up at two
• 19:08
Speaker 3: and then Game five is gonna be Savage and Snell.
• 19:11
Speaker 1: Again, and that can go either way.
• 19:14
Speaker 3: So I still probably believe the Dodgers may be up
• 19:17
Speaker 3: three games to two going back to Toronto, but Toronto
• 19:21
Speaker 3: could win the two home games and win force the
• 19:23
Speaker 3: game seven and winning seven, like why not? The issue
• 19:27
Speaker 3: is how long are these Dodgers starts and be able
• 19:31
Speaker 3: to carry his pitching staff if they have another situation
• 19:35
Speaker 3: that they had tonight, that Blue Jays are gonna win again,
• 19:38
Speaker 3: like they need seven innings from Yamamodo on two innings
• 19:41
Speaker 3: from Sasaki tomorrow. That's how the Dodgers win tomorrow. If
• 19:44
Speaker 3: anything else happens and they're in trouble, yeah.
• 19:48
Speaker 2: I'd say Moto has really been living up through his expectations.
• 19:51
Speaker 1: I love Yamamoda. Was a pitcher I always have.
• 19:53
Speaker 3: I really watch the Yankees were able to get him,
• 19:56
Speaker 3: Like I knew because like I follow him in the
• 19:58
Speaker 3: world with my World Baseball and that work work, So
• 20:01
Speaker 3: like I knew who he was. And like I've watched
• 20:03
Speaker 3: a bunch of clips and stuff, and I'm like, this
• 20:04
Speaker 3: guy's different. He doesn't give up any homers. Really, he
• 20:07
Speaker 3: doesn't walk anyone like he is. He's electric to uh
• 20:11
Speaker 3: he pitched a complete game. No one tells that anymore.
• 20:15
Speaker 3: He has special stuff and he's the type of guy
• 20:18
Speaker 3: that's not going to get rattled either. Like you saw
• 20:20
Speaker 3: what he's in the World Series last year. Like he's
• 20:22
Speaker 3: had a very good resume. He's worth every penny the
• 20:25
  Speaker 3: Dodgers paid him.
• 20:26
Speaker 2: Yeah, is the payment plan thing?
• 20:29
Speaker 3: They'll bother you with the Dodgers, Like, yes, it does,
• 20:32
Speaker 3: But they didn't do that with him, I don't think,
• 20:33
Speaker 3: because he had to be straight up.
• 20:36
Speaker 1: Yeah, it bothers me a lot. I don't like it
• 20:38
Speaker 1: at all. I'm not gonna lie to you, and I've
• 20:40
Speaker 1: gone on and length about that.
• 20:43
Speaker 3: Momoto has been nails though two eight two thirty eight innings,
• 20:46
Speaker 3: thirty three k's in his postseason career. But his fit
• 20:50
Speaker 3: is a little higher than his era, so maybe some
• 20:52
  Speaker 3: regressions coming.
• 20:53
  Speaker 1: I don't know.
• 20:53
Speaker 3: I see a four oh six there, but they better
• 20:56
Speaker 3: hope that doesn't come tomorrow because they can't afford any
• 20:59
  Speaker 3: more regression.
• 21:00
Speaker 2: No, they can't. And I always feel like Roberts is
• 21:03
Speaker 2: so funny with the way he does his bullpen. It's
• 21:06
Speaker 2: it's like one day he's locking him in, the next
• 21:10
Speaker 2: time he doesn't. He just lets the starter go as
• 21:12
Speaker 2: far as they go, So it's always it.
• 21:14
Speaker 3: I think it's as far as they go now because
• 21:17
Speaker 3: of the situation that we saw tonight, He's gonna pitch
• 21:19
Speaker 3: them one hundred plus all of them, I think.
• 21:22
Speaker 1: I think he doesn't really have a choice.
• 21:24
Speaker 2: If you didn't think the Blue Jays were gonna come
• 21:26
Speaker 2: out swinging, I would say you were wrong. I thought
• 21:28
Speaker 2: they'd ever. I feel like they're gonna have an offensive blowout,
• 21:31
Speaker 2: this burst this whole series, like you just feel it coming.
• 21:36
Speaker 3: Yeah, But I think the Dodgers pitching is so good
• 21:38
Speaker 3: that they're gonna figure it out eventually. I mean, I
• 21:41
Speaker 3: don't want I'm not rooting for la obviously, I'm just
• 21:43
Speaker 3: telling you what I think might happen. But like I'm
• 21:46
Speaker 3: not heavily rooming for Toronto. It's kind of like, whatever
• 21:48
Speaker 3: happens happens. Like, do I want to see them win? Yeah,
• 21:51
Speaker 3: but well i'd be just draw if the Dodgers go
• 21:53
  Speaker 3: back to back.
• 21:54
Speaker 1: No, but it's gonna create more problems down its out
• 21:57
Speaker 1: on the line probably.
• 21:58
Speaker 2: I'm here the Dodgers. There could be a lockout for
• 22:01
Speaker 2: sure in twenty seven.
• 22:02
Speaker 3: That's the issue I'm having as well, because all the
• 22:05
Speaker 3: owners are gonna cry poor and use the excuse that
• 22:07
Speaker 3: we can't keep up with them, like that is a problem.
• 22:09
Speaker 3: I'm not gonna deny that. And then it doesn't it
• 22:12
Speaker 3: gets worse because if the Dodgers win again this year,
• 22:15
Speaker 3: then why can't they win again next year? And if
• 22:17
Speaker 3: they have a three peak going into the lockout, that's
• 22:19
Speaker 3: a complete disaster. We might not see baseball for a
• 22:22
Speaker 3: long time if they three peak going into the lockout.
• 22:25
Speaker 3: So the Blue Jay that's part of the reason why
• 22:27
Speaker 3: I hope the Blue Jays do figure it out.
• 22:29
Speaker 1: I mean, so far, so good. But I'm not gonna
• 22:32
Speaker 1: overreact to one game.
• 22:33
Speaker 2: I just can't do it because yeah, but I kind
• 22:35
Speaker 2: of I kind of had a feeling they were come
• 22:37
Speaker 2: out with offense, because I've seen the first of the
• 22:40
Speaker 2: other two series. They just come around.
• 22:41
  Speaker 1: Now.
• 22:42
Speaker 2: How about how about the guy named George Springer who
• 22:44
Speaker 2: I thought was not left for dead. I don't want
• 22:47
Speaker 2: to say that kind of.
• 22:48
Speaker 1: Term, but yeah, he was declining and like we thought
• 22:50
Speaker 1: it could have been over kinds of like he was
• 22:52
Speaker 1: not good last year. He's been incredible and he's a Yankee.
• 22:54
Speaker 3: He talk about the Yankee Killer, him and Vlady's junior together,
• 22:58
Speaker 3: like and Bobuschet too.
• 22:59
Speaker 1: But that was good tonight. That's a good thing for
• 23:02
  Speaker 1: Toronto as well.
• 23:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I mean, but shit, you need him there.
• 23:05
Speaker 2: And in fact, when he got injured, I thought that
• 23:09
Speaker 2: was gonna affect their playoff run entirely.
• 23:12
Speaker 3: They've really avoided that greatly. I mean, the Yankees got
• 23:17
Speaker 3: mopped up by them before the Mariners could have beaten
• 23:20
Speaker 3: them though they had them. They just blew it by
• 23:23
Speaker 3: going out using moons.
• 23:24
Speaker 2: Like. I understand that the Blue Jays talk smack.
• 23:29
Speaker 1: And all that, but look, that doesn't even bother me,
• 23:32
Speaker 1: to be honest with you.
• 23:33
Speaker 2: The Yankees did this to themselves.
• 23:35
Speaker 1: Have nine, That's what I'm saying.
• 23:36
Speaker 3: They did it to themselves, so people getting mad about
• 23:39
Speaker 3: Toronto was just like you're crying, crying over philm Milkan
• 23:42
Speaker 3: with sour grapes. The Yankees caused this, this is and
• 23:46
Speaker 3: the Blue Jays did what they had to do and
• 23:47
Speaker 3: they took them to the Yankees. But these were all
• 23:50
  Speaker 3: self inflicted wounds.
• 23:52
Speaker 2: Nine games of Devin Williams, and I'll still never forget
• 23:54
Speaker 2: that or understand why we kept going to them.
• 23:58
Speaker 1: I don't have an answer for you either.
• 24:00
Speaker 2: And so that was the mistake.
• 24:02
Speaker 3: They could have easily won the division, and if they
• 24:04
Speaker 3: won the division, we may be having an entirely different
• 24:06
  Speaker 3: conversation right now.
• 24:08
Speaker 2: Well, look, I don't know if the Yanks would have
• 24:10
Speaker 2: been could have been the Dodgers in the rematch, but
• 24:11
Speaker 2: I think everybody would have loved to see the rematch.
• 24:13
  Speaker 2: I don't know.
• 24:14
Speaker 3: Here's what Here's how it would have gone. The Yankees
• 24:17
Speaker 3: would have had the top seed. The Blue Jays definitely
• 24:20
Speaker 3: would have beat the Red Sox. I still believe that
• 24:23
Speaker 3: we would have faced They would have faced Toronto and
• 24:25
Speaker 3: the Yankee Stadium instead of starting and the Rogers Center.
• 24:29
Speaker 3: I don't know if that would have been enough with
• 24:30
Speaker 3: the difference, because the Blue Jays were just better than
• 24:31
Speaker 3: the Yankees. I'm not sure if that would have made
• 24:33
Speaker 3: the difference, but if they played the matters in ALCS,
• 24:36
Speaker 3: they definitely have had a shot. Do you think the
• 24:38
Speaker 3: Yankees could have beat the Blue Jays with the home field,
• 24:40
Speaker 3: because I'm not entirely sure about that. I don't know
• 24:41
Speaker 3: if you feel different.
• 24:43
Speaker 2: Look and I'm always, as you know, I'm always optimist
• 24:45
Speaker 2: about this Yankee team no matter what. But I was
• 24:49
Speaker 2: more excited that we beat Boston and was looking forward
• 24:52
Speaker 2: to the Alds only because I knew that was going
• 24:55
Speaker 2: to be a tough fault.
• 24:56
Speaker 3: I didn't have high expectations either, Like if you heard
• 24:59
Speaker 3: me to off for a while this year, I was saying,
• 25:02
Speaker 3: like a DS or CS ceiling, this was not the
• 25:04
Speaker 3: World Series team for the Yankees. I was not fooled
• 25:07
Speaker 3: at all, Like even though with the hot star like,
• 25:09
Speaker 3: I was not thinking they were a lot for the
• 25:11
  Speaker 3: World Series rematch.
• 25:12
Speaker 1: I just didn't see it. There was too many inconsistencies,
• 25:15
Speaker 1: Like the stuff you talked about with Devin Williams was
• 25:17
Speaker 1: part of it was actually good, but yeah, go ahead.
• 25:21
Speaker 2: Unfortunately, the first game after the deadline happened to be
• 25:25
Speaker 2: in Toronto, when your new acquisitions cracked the bed.
• 25:28
Speaker 3: Oh no, that was the Marlins game where they saw
• 25:31
Speaker 3: when they blew up. Yeah, and think about it, if
• 25:34
Speaker 3: they didn't get swept by the Marlins. It was the
• 25:36
  Speaker 3: one's division.
• 25:38
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean there were these little games.
• 25:39
Speaker 1: There were so many millions different ones that are.
• 25:42
Speaker 2: Do you agree that this season these seasons are feeling
• 25:45
  Speaker 2: faster now, because.
• 25:46
Speaker 1: Yes they are. I feel like we're going lightning speed
• 25:49
Speaker 1: these days. I don't know why, but tell me why,
• 25:51
  Speaker 1: give me something.
• 25:52
Speaker 2: Yeah, really went from nineteen games against our division opponents.
• 25:56
Speaker 1: To thirteen or twelve. Yeah, every game.
• 25:59
Speaker 2: Matt now, and that's why even the Mets threw away
• 26:02
Speaker 2: some of those games against Philly and Washington that cost
• 26:06
Speaker 2: him in the end.
• 26:06
Speaker 1: I mean, Lawrence really got the Mets.
• 26:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, but those games in April matter, and I wish.
• 26:12
Speaker 1: Yes, Alex say yes they do.
• 26:14
Speaker 3: I'm gonna yes bring this up because I'm getting sick
• 26:16
Speaker 3: of the people saying that the early season games don't
• 26:19
Speaker 3: matter either, Like they matter. Every single game matter. It's
• 26:21
Speaker 3: like it's April, May, June, July, September, August. All games
• 26:25
Speaker 3: are pretated equal at this point, like you said, and
• 26:28
Speaker 3: think about it, all those April games, you thought that
• 26:30
Speaker 3: didn't matter. What what happened Now, all those games that
• 26:33
Speaker 3: Carlos Carrasco and Marcus Stroman were trying out there, Like
• 26:36
  Speaker 3: what happened the.
• 26:38
Speaker 2: Fall away against Washington and they lost that game in April.
• 26:41
Speaker 2: It's like, there's gonna beg them in the s in September.
• 26:44
Speaker 1: I remember that. I do remember that. Now you bring
• 26:47
  Speaker 1: that up.
• 26:47
Speaker 2: That does with Yankee see those that that four games
• 26:51
Speaker 2: at the end of June into July set the path
• 26:54
Speaker 2: for the Blue Jays.
• 26:55
Speaker 3: I mean yes, once the Yankees got swept in Toronto,
• 26:59
Speaker 3: that made me think they were done.
• 27:00
Speaker 1: At that point, I thought the division was lost.
• 27:02
Speaker 3: I was like, they're not getting it back like they
• 27:05
Speaker 3: I thought the easy schedule might save them, and it
• 27:07
Speaker 3: almost did, Alex, it almost did. The only reason the
• 27:09
Speaker 3: Yankees almost came back was because their September schedule was
• 27:12
Speaker 3: so soft. That's the only reason it was even close.
• 27:15
Speaker 3: They got lucky the way the schedule was placed, it.
• 27:18
Speaker 2: Was they did and they took advantage.
• 27:20
Speaker 1: They had eight they did.
• 27:21
Speaker 3: They gave it their best effort. They really almost ran
• 27:24
Speaker 3: them down. They really almost did it. But like the
• 27:27
Speaker 3: thing is, when they play what you.
• 27:28
Speaker 2: Know why that was they finally played Cabriero and and
• 27:31
Speaker 2: I love the yanking, and you know, I'm connected with
• 27:34
Speaker 2: them through Simon or family and all that, So, I mean,
• 27:37
Speaker 2: I love the I have connections. But I want to
• 27:41
Speaker 2: say this, I wish they acted on Volpi earlier. I
• 27:44
Speaker 2: had seen the game where he goes.
• 27:46
Speaker 3: And I have connections of Obey. So I feel very
• 27:48
Speaker 3: similar to you about what you're about to say. Probably,
• 27:50
  Speaker 3: but go ahead.
• 27:51
Speaker 2: No, I mean I just think we knew and it
• 27:54
Speaker 2: may that there was an issue there.
• 27:55
Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what they were doing, Like, why
• 27:57
Speaker 1: couldn't they handle that better? I don't care. Interesting.
• 28:00
Speaker 2: I love Cabiro. I think he should come back next year.
• 28:03
  Speaker 1: He's well, he's under contract for a while, so that's
• 28:05
Speaker 1: good news for you. He'll be back for a while.
• 28:07
Speaker 3: No, great, he was, He's going to be back. Don't worry,
• 28:10
Speaker 3: he will be back here. I think they have three
• 28:12
Speaker 3: more years of control there.
• 28:13
Speaker 2: He was the shot that they needed to get to
• 28:15
Speaker 2: get to the postseason. I mean really really stepped in there.
• 28:18
Speaker 2: And of course we're gonna hear the Lombard and the
• 28:20
Speaker 2: Spencer Jones stuff, and yeah, and about that this off
• 28:24
Speaker 2: season who we pick up. Look, I still would rather
• 28:27
Speaker 2: Belly over Tucker. I don't know what it is.
• 28:29
Speaker 1: I love I'm on the Tucker train.
• 28:34
Speaker 2: Don't you think Tucker would add more or.
• 28:36
Speaker 3: Yes, I think he would help the team a little
• 28:38
Speaker 3: bit more personally. But look, I mean, if Balinger comes back,
• 28:42
Speaker 3: I'm okay with it, but there needs to be another move.
• 28:45
Speaker 3: But can't just be bringing him back. Like if they
• 28:47
  Speaker 3: just bring him.
• 28:48
Speaker 1: Back and do nothing else, that's a complete bailure to me.
• 28:50
Speaker 2: I would like it Alonso. Now the Bryce Harper stuffs
• 28:53
  Speaker 2: swirling again.
• 28:54
Speaker 3: I'm not buying Alonzo because it came from Hayman and
• 28:56
Speaker 3: he's he's a Boris mouthpiece. I'm not gonna buy that one.
• 29:00
Speaker 3: I need to see a lot more behind that. I mean,
• 29:02
Speaker 3: I guess maybe, but like I'm not seeing that one.
• 29:05
Speaker 3: He's just doing it to try to get the market
• 29:07
Speaker 3: value up for Pe.
• 29:08
Speaker 1: He does this all the time.
• 29:09
Speaker 2: Well, people know you were around these teams this year, right,
• 29:12
  Speaker 2: so you had.
• 29:12
Speaker 3: You had Well I know how Hayman operates, like I've
• 29:16
Speaker 3: gone that, I've gone to the winning meetings.
• 29:18
Speaker 1: With him before, Like I understand how he works.
• 29:21
Speaker 2: But being on both teams. What what what was your
• 29:24
  Speaker 2: overall feeling.
• 29:24
Speaker 3: I mean, the Meds collapse was not was surprising until
• 29:28
Speaker 3: it wasn't Like I was surprised, like basing Hell, well,
• 29:31
Speaker 3: they played early in the year, but once I saw
• 29:33
Speaker 3: the bottom phone out of September, like I think, I
• 29:36
Speaker 3: called the last week of the season my birthday because
• 29:38
Speaker 3: I'm like, the Reds are gonna make the playoffs, the
• 29:39
Speaker 3: Met's are gonna collapse.
• 29:41
Speaker 1: I think, I want, I think when it came down
• 29:42
Speaker 1: to it, I did say the medsicell collapse.
• 29:45
Speaker 3: I'm not I am and I'm not surprised because their
• 29:47
Speaker 3: pitching was patchwork and it wasn't gonna last one sixty
• 29:50
Speaker 3: two and they had to rely on too many kids.
• 29:53
Speaker 3: And I know how I feel about Jonah, but he
• 29:55
Speaker 3: wasn't quite ready for the show yet, So I hope
• 29:58
  Speaker 3: he could rebound.
• 29:59
Speaker 2: Maybe on the same thing is really hot.
• 30:01
  Speaker 1: That was huge.
• 30:02
Speaker 3: The same good thing was a disaster because like he
• 30:04
Speaker 3: was so good. You know what changed your season? You'll
• 30:07
Speaker 3: agree with me right here when Pete A. Lonzo made
• 30:09
Speaker 3: that bad flip to first base. Ever since he made
• 30:13
Speaker 3: that bad flip, that's when the Mets went down. Hell
• 30:15
Speaker 3: think about it. They were like twenty one games over
• 30:18
Speaker 3: five hundred around that time, I think, and then after
• 30:20
Speaker 3: that they were basically a below five hundred team holding upwards.
• 30:23
Speaker 1: To your life, and they Philly wasn't good.
• 30:26
  Speaker 2: They didn't.
• 30:26
Speaker 1: The Mets were just like smoke.
• 30:28
Speaker 3: The Mets were trying to smoke the clock and the
• 30:30
Speaker 3: kwards to your life, and they couldn't hold on long enough.
• 30:33
Speaker 3: If the season was one hundred and sixty games, would
• 30:35
Speaker 3: have made the playoffs. But it's not like if the
• 30:37
Speaker 3: season won one hundred seventy games, the Mets would have
• 30:40
Speaker 3: been like TENK. They would have been below five hundred.
• 30:42
Speaker 3: Like the Mets were going the wrong way. There was
• 30:44
Speaker 3: nothing that could have been done to save them. Well,
• 30:47
Speaker 3: actually I will say there could have been something dumb,
• 30:49
Speaker 3: but it wasn't done properly Savid Stearns and not handled
• 30:52
Speaker 3: the pitching at the deadline. That's why the Mets failed.
• 30:55
Speaker 3: He needs to get a starting pitchering and do it well.
• 30:58
Speaker 2: And I think the Yanks are so full of pitching
• 31:00
Speaker 2: you need to focus on the hitting now.
• 31:02
Speaker 1: So well, yes, I agree with you, Alex, So let's
• 31:04
Speaker 1: go back to the Yankee side. So like the Medsiad.
• 31:07
Speaker 3: I kind of gave you my explanation the Yankees, Like,
• 31:10
Speaker 3: I just didn't see the juice with them all year.
• 31:13
Speaker 3: I didn't trust the lineup in October, Like how many
• 31:16
Speaker 3: times do we go through these regular seasons and we
• 31:18
Speaker 3: see them put up all these homers as ops, like
• 31:20
Speaker 3: best team in the league, best offense in the league,
• 31:21
Speaker 3: and soone kept telling me, I'm like, no, it's not.
• 31:23
  Speaker 1: I'm like it's not.
• 31:24
Speaker 2: I still like judging the second by the way, I
• 31:26
Speaker 2: would keep him in the second spot.
• 31:28
Speaker 1: Yeah, Judge is fine.
• 31:29
Speaker 3: He had a good postseason, Like he's the least of
• 31:31
Speaker 3: my concerns now when I'm happy he has nothing of
• 31:32
Speaker 3: the surgery. But like what I was saying was like,
• 31:35
Speaker 3: I don't trust the regular season numbers. They don't matter
• 31:37
Speaker 3: because they don't play in October. They don't translate in October,
• 31:40
Speaker 3: So until it translated October, I don't care the regular
• 31:43
  Speaker 3: season numbers.
• 31:44
Speaker 1: I really don't. But how many times do we see
• 31:47
Speaker 1: them hit all these homers only the fall flat in October?
• 31:49
  Speaker 1: That's my point.
• 31:51
Speaker 2: However, I do finally feel like, for the first time ever,
• 31:55
Speaker 2: October was not a different animal for the Yankees. What
• 31:58
Speaker 2: we saw on the right postseason, it's sort of what
• 32:00
Speaker 2: we saw in the regular season.
• 32:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's fair. That is fair.
• 32:03
Speaker 3: You're actually right, there wasn't that much difference. Is the
• 32:06
Speaker 3: only thing is that they didn't hit too well for
• 32:08
Speaker 3: most of it. But like they're pitching, bullpen problems carried over. Yep,
• 32:12
Speaker 3: they couldn't figure out the bullpen all year. That was
• 32:14
Speaker 3: the same issue. Max Freed not having his best stub
• 32:18
Speaker 3: against Toronto was not great.
• 32:20
Speaker 1: But the thing is.
• 32:21
Speaker 3: Toronto owned Max Freed. He can't even strike them out.
• 32:24
Speaker 3: He had like fifteen k's in five games against him.
• 32:27
Speaker 3: That's terrible. And Carlos for Zone was up and down
• 32:30
Speaker 3: against the two and Nowhi Zone was hurt, so I'm
• 32:31
Speaker 3: gonna give him a pass. Carlos ro Zone was definitely
• 32:33
Speaker 3: pitching her against the Blue Jays, so he's he actually
• 32:36
Speaker 3: had a great year. I hope he's good to go
• 32:38
Speaker 3: early in the year. I know he's gonna miss opening probably,
• 32:41
Speaker 3: but like, I was very happy what I saw from
• 32:43
Speaker 3: Carlos this year, especially considering the end of the year hurt.
• 32:45
Speaker 2: And you know, Rodal seemed to have channel his I
• 32:48
Speaker 2: know he's an emotional guy. He seemed to have really
• 32:50
Speaker 2: locked that in and look he had a better year.
• 32:52
Speaker 2: Actually he was a solid number two.
• 32:55
Speaker 1: And I still yeah, he was worth the money.
• 32:57
Speaker 3: For the first time since being a Yankee you could
• 32:59
Speaker 3: actually say was worth the money was being paid.
• 33:01
Speaker 2: I still say this rotation, if you keep Cam in
• 33:04
Speaker 2: there is gonna be ridiculous.
• 33:06
Speaker 1: If he's gonna stay, he's gonna do a thing.
• 33:09
Speaker 3: Now would you add a guy like al Kintara or
• 33:11
Speaker 3: Freddie Peralta May because those are guys that interest me
• 33:13
Speaker 3: because I want to stack the deck. The Yankees need
• 33:16
Speaker 3: to stack the deck somewhere. I want because look at
• 33:18
Speaker 3: how you could do it. Even when roothe comes back.
• 33:21
Speaker 3: You have a world where Garrett Cole's back, you have
• 33:23
Speaker 3: Max Freed, you have Carlos of Cam, and then you
• 33:26
Speaker 3: have Freddy or al Kintara.
• 33:29
Speaker 1: That's one of the better fives in the league.
• 33:32
Speaker 2: Well see what what the Miami Marlins won for Alcatara.
• 33:35
Speaker 2: That would be an interesting trade though he.
• 33:38
Speaker 3: Only has he only has one year left to control.
• 33:41
  Speaker 3: Like it's gonna happen. I mean, he's going somewhere. I
• 33:43
Speaker 3: don't know if it's gonna be the Yankees, but the
• 33:45
Speaker 3: Yankees are definitely picking up the phone on that and
• 33:47
Speaker 3: you look at you look at what they tried on
• 33:49
Speaker 3: the deadline. By the way they did try, I'm pretty
• 33:51
Speaker 3: sure they have tried a couple suppose they tried.
• 33:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not yet. It's like in left fields, gonna
• 33:59
Speaker 1: ge rid of it. It's too soon. It's too soon.
• 34:03
Speaker 2: But what I will say is, you talk about the
• 34:06
Speaker 2: Dodgers win hurting the league, it hurts these individual cities,
• 34:09
Speaker 2: right So then, and what I mean by that is,
• 34:14
Speaker 2: let's see, you'll see all these cities want to make
• 34:17
Speaker 2: moves to build up their team to compete with the Dodgers. Yeah,
• 34:23
Speaker 2: so you could see a Schiens move because they want
• 34:26
Speaker 2: to compete with the Dodgers, so they'll get the younger
• 34:29
Speaker 2: kids in there. I don't know something. I feel like,
• 34:32
Speaker 2: these Dodgers win the World Series, it will impact the local,
• 34:35
Speaker 2: very local baseball markets more so than before because they'll
• 34:39
Speaker 2: try even harder to try and compete with them. Yeah.
• 34:41
Speaker 3: The thing is like, I just don't see a ball
• 34:43
Speaker 3: s Games trade because his value is too high right now.
• 34:46
Speaker 3: I don't even think a team has the package that
• 34:47
Speaker 3: puts together from it's realistic. He has four years off
• 34:50
Speaker 3: the controling. He's the best pitcher in the league, arguably
• 34:52
Speaker 3: him and Tarik or one and two. However you want
• 34:54
  Speaker 3: the slice it.
• 34:56
Speaker 2: Oh and how did how did they get rid of
• 34:58
Speaker 2: keep Brian Hayes? I remember him on the the Pirates.
• 35:00
Speaker 2: That was actually pick up some really good guys at
• 35:04
  Speaker 2: the trade deadline.
• 35:04
Speaker 3: Yeah, the Reds are okay, they're like, they're kind of
• 35:07
Speaker 3: like a little bove average. They gotta kept their heading better.
• 35:09
Speaker 3: But they made the playoffs. I mean they didn't play
• 35:12
Speaker 3: that well, but then they played better than the Mets. So, like,
• 35:16
Speaker 3: I don't think Skins is gonna moved yet with Fortis
• 35:18
Speaker 3: the control, because like, I don't think any team has
• 35:20
Speaker 3: the package to give the Pirates that makes sense.
• 35:22
  Speaker 1: I just can't see it.
• 35:23
Speaker 2: By the way, we we ain't talked on my podcast
• 35:25
Speaker 2: One Wing Up with Alex Garrett a while back.
• 35:27
Speaker 1: I haven't caught up with you since I did put
• 35:29
Speaker 1: your plugs in my link.
• 35:30
Speaker 3: By the way, if you want to give me better
• 35:32
Speaker 3: links so you can send them to put them in
• 35:34
Speaker 3: so after this if you want, you can do that.
• 35:38
Speaker 2: I so appreciate that. But I was gonna say, but
• 35:41
Speaker 2: we haven't caught up since Uh, the Philly pitcher in
• 35:45
Speaker 2: that game against Dodgers. I feel really bad.
• 35:48
Speaker 1: For them, yeah, k k, yeah.
• 35:52
Speaker 2: And I bring that up because I just felt like
• 35:54
Speaker 2: that was a postseason moment that Philly is like what
• 35:57
Speaker 2: are you doing? Well, you know what, you try fans like,
• 36:00
Speaker 2: what are you doing? You try to be in that situation,
• 36:02
Speaker 2: the noise, the stadium. It's just in that moment. I
• 36:07
Speaker 2: understand Ria Moultu pointed down to first, but you don't
• 36:10
Speaker 2: see that as a picture, you know, you don't see that.
• 36:12
Speaker 3: And here's the other thing, if we're going to be honest,
• 36:14
Speaker 3: the Phillies were screwed. Regardless they were not winning that
• 36:17
Speaker 3: series or that game, they were still gonna lose. It
• 36:20
Speaker 3: was just a matter of winning have they weren't hitting.
• 36:22
Speaker 3: The Phillies want lost because they Hey, it's not because
• 36:25
  Speaker 3: of that throw. They're bad's one siling. I mean, that's
• 36:28
Speaker 3: not the reason the Phillies lost. That's just the last
• 36:30
Speaker 3: play of the season. They were done.
• 36:31
Speaker 1: They were not being the Dodgers.
• 36:34
Speaker 2: And you know, I was a shame because I really
• 36:35
Speaker 2: thought Swarm was on a roll.
• 36:37
Speaker 3: I thought the Phillies were better, to be way better.
• 36:39
Speaker 3: I actually thought they have I thought they could have
• 36:41
Speaker 3: pulled the ups. That was completely wrong.
• 36:44
Speaker 2: So how about the Padrecs. Okay, so here's a team
• 36:47
Speaker 2: that I always think.
• 36:48
Speaker 1: Is gonna get very disappointing, but they never do.
• 36:52
Speaker 2: And I love the Cubs because my dad was a
• 36:54
Speaker 2: Cub fan, so of course I looked for them. However,
• 36:57
Speaker 2: the Padrects are a team I always ape. I even
• 37:00
Speaker 2: thought last year in.
• 37:01
Speaker 3: Twenty four, well, they actually had the Well, this is
• 37:04
Speaker 3: what I was telling you before. This is the last
• 37:07
Speaker 3: time the Dodgers had their backs against the wall. Was
• 37:09
Speaker 3: that situation with the Padres in twenty twenty four? They
• 37:12
Speaker 3: were down two games to one, and how they respond
• 37:15
Speaker 3: They shut them out two games in a row. That's
• 37:17
  Speaker 3: why I'm not gonna That's why I can't just say
• 37:19
Speaker 3: that which is gonna roll, because when the Dodgers have
• 37:22
Speaker 3: their backs against the wall, they show up.
• 37:24
  Speaker 1: That's the problem.
• 37:25
Speaker 2: Well, not only that Roberts turns on a gear like
• 37:28
Speaker 2: he didn't when he stole a second base. I have
• 37:29
Speaker 2: to say that, but yeah, he turns on a gear.
• 37:34
Speaker 3: I had to just It's okay, it's been twenty years,
• 37:37
Speaker 3: but I'm still not over at full.
• 37:38
Speaker 2: I'm not over it. Either. But I could tell his
• 37:42
Speaker 2: manager I still has that.
• 37:44
Speaker 1: He plays with that swag a little. Yeah, he played
• 37:46
Speaker 1: with that swag. You know he has that.
• 37:47
  Speaker 2: He has that.
• 37:48
Speaker 1: He's a good manager. He is like he does a few. Yeah.
• 37:52
Speaker 2: In Game four of the World Series last year, he
• 37:54
Speaker 2: let the yate. I don't want to say let the win.
• 37:56
Speaker 2: But it was a pun.
• 37:57
Speaker 1: It was a punk game.
• 37:58
Speaker 3: He was he didn't care if we at the Yankees
• 38:00
Speaker 3: one let's be it was a It was a semi
• 38:03
Speaker 3: punk game. But he did the purposely set himself up
• 38:05
  Speaker 3: for Game five.
• 38:06
Speaker 2: And then game five, what happens the Aanks go up.
• 38:09
Speaker 3: What they light up Flawherty and then his bullpen's ready
• 38:12
Speaker 3: because he ain't used and he win in game four
• 38:14
Speaker 3: and and they so it worked obvious in the World and.
• 38:18
Speaker 2: That fifth I'll never understand it.
• 38:20
Speaker 1: I'll never Oh god, it could we please?
• 38:23
Speaker 2: But but they but but but Roberts locked in is
• 38:26
Speaker 2: the point I'm trying to make you.
• 38:27
Speaker 1: No, no, no, no no, no, I can handle I'm
• 38:30
Speaker 1: just playing with you. Don't worry. Go ahead, I can
• 38:32
  Speaker 1: deal with it.
• 38:32
Speaker 2: Roberts lockdown, take away. They didn't allow another run after
• 38:36
Speaker 2: that five run out first and I thought.
• 38:39
Speaker 3: There was one, didn't we retake They retook the lead,
• 38:41
Speaker 3: and then they again. Remember remember they retook the lead,
• 38:44
Speaker 3: but like I'm like, this is not gonna last. It
• 38:46
Speaker 3: was six to five and then like came happened.
• 38:49
Speaker 2: But it just felt like they locked down the rest
• 38:51
Speaker 2: of the game after.
• 38:52
Speaker 1: That, you know, they did it for the most part.
• 38:54
Speaker 1: Like that was Yeah, so you'll.
• 38:56
Speaker 2: See it tomorrow or later today. I guess you'll see raw. Yeah,
• 39:00
Speaker 2: if he needs to, he'll go back to the bullpen
• 39:04
Speaker 2: and try and figure it out. The guy they they
• 39:07
Speaker 2: fool us in the first half of the every season, right,
• 39:10
Speaker 2: they sort of coast.
• 39:12
Speaker 1: A little bit, and they coasted this area.
• 39:15
Speaker 2: And they're like, okay, But by the time the whole
• 39:19
Speaker 2: season came around, he got his guys together and he
• 39:22
  Speaker 2: meant business.
• 39:22
Speaker 3: Yeah, people were like, oh, the Dodgers aren't to save
• 39:25
Speaker 3: it was the only in the playoffs, And yeah, I
• 39:26
Speaker 3: was a little guilty because I thought Philly was better
• 39:28
  Speaker 3: than they were.
• 39:29
Speaker 1: But deep down I was like, yeah, like when the
• 39:31
Speaker 1: playoffs started, the Dodgers are going to beat the Dodgers worried.
• 39:36
Speaker 2: I don't know what happened this year. I still feel
• 39:39
Speaker 2: like they had an off year for an.
• 39:41
  Speaker 1: Off regular season.
• 39:42
Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but now they're back. I mean they swept thes.
• 39:45
Speaker 3: And they did have a lot of injuries too in
• 39:47
Speaker 3: the pitching staff that didn't help them. I do have
• 39:51
Speaker 3: some bad news for you. Clayton Kershaw pitched in the
• 39:54
Speaker 3: playoffs and he got lit up like a Christmas tree.
• 39:57
Speaker 3: Two winnings against the Phillies. Six hits, four runs, two bombs,
• 40:01
Speaker 3: five four arms, five runs toll.
• 40:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, and three walks. He was horrendously But can we
• 40:06
Speaker 1: talk about him for a minute.
• 40:07
Speaker 2: Here's a guy who overcame injury after injury to get
• 40:10
Speaker 2: to three thousand strikeouts.
• 40:11
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 40:13
Speaker 3: No, I'm not trying to distain his legacy. But he's
• 40:16
Speaker 3: not a good post season pitcher. He's one of the
• 40:18
Speaker 3: best pictures of all time, but he's not a good
• 40:20
  Speaker 3: post season pitcher.
• 40:22
Speaker 2: Well, nolod, he has two rings. He's a Hall of.
• 40:26
Speaker 1: Fame right, Well, he would have been a Hall of
• 40:27
Speaker 1: Fame regardless, but like, yes, he's I think he's gonna
• 40:30
Speaker 1: he's gonna Weltz into the Hall of Fame. He and
• 40:33
Speaker 1: he deserves it, and he sent us He's the best
• 40:36
Speaker 1: picture of our generation, arguably next to Sherz and Erlins
• 40:39
Speaker 1: or all three of them have great cases. But if
• 40:42
Speaker 1: you will get the pure numbers during the regular season alone,
• 40:45
Speaker 1: Clayton Kershaw is better than both of them.
• 40:48
Speaker 2: So I tell you may never see three thousand strikeouts ever.
• 40:51
Speaker 2: I hate to say it like.
• 40:52
Speaker 1: That, but what about Skins.
• 40:56
Speaker 2: I think skiings down the road, But they're just all
• 40:58
  Speaker 2: these pictures are.
• 40:59
Speaker 1: The One thing we're not gonna see is three hundred wins.
• 41:02
Speaker 1: That's never happening again.
• 41:03
Speaker 2: But they're also they're taking these kids out at like
• 41:07
Speaker 2: eighty nine pitches, and I don't really understand.
• 41:09
Speaker 3: You know, it's rough. Yeah, it's rough. We're never seeing
• 41:11
Speaker 3: three hundred wins again. Three thousand strikeouts maybe, but they
• 41:16
Speaker 3: might gonna take a while because I can't think of
• 41:18
Speaker 3: anyone besides Skeens. It's gonna run that down.
• 41:21
Speaker 2: There was someone I have to figure out.
• 41:23
Speaker 1: I try to check really quick, okay, but it's all
• 41:25
Speaker 1: I'll look active strikeout leaders MLB.
• 41:29
Speaker 2: But I think Sures might be up there unless he
• 41:31
  Speaker 2: got it already.
• 41:32
Speaker 1: He already got it. Oh, there is one.
• 41:38
Speaker 3: I got you, Chris Sale, But I don't know if
• 41:42
Speaker 3: he's gonna do it because he's so old and broken
• 41:44
Speaker 3: down kinds. If he's thirty six, he's in a bunch
• 41:47
Speaker 3: of injuries. Do you think he has four hundred and
• 41:49
Speaker 3: one left in him or four hundred and twenty one
• 41:51
  Speaker 3: left in them?
• 41:52
  Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't even know. I don't even know.
• 41:54
  Speaker 2: I mean, I just don't know.
• 41:56
Speaker 3: Garrett Cole has a stripe shot undred and fifty one
• 42:00
Speaker 3: if he could come back strong.
• 42:01
Speaker 1: Off to Tommy John.
• 42:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, his years are are well and that's yeah, his
• 42:07
Speaker 2: years are are waning, right.
• 42:10
Speaker 3: He has three years left on the deal with the Yankees.
• 42:12
Speaker 3: So Charlie Warren actually had two thousands and undred almost,
• 42:15
Speaker 3: but he's done. Gus Arvis two thousand, he's done. Here's
• 42:18
Speaker 3: an interesting one one you would be surprised with. I'll
• 42:22
Speaker 3: give you three semi surprising ones here. How about Sonny
• 42:25
Speaker 3: Gray in nineteen twenty five.
• 42:27
Speaker 1: I would not have thought that. Wow, but he's not
• 42:30
  Speaker 1: gonna get I don't think.
• 42:31
Speaker 2: Actually, when he was outside of New York, he's pitching
• 42:34
  Speaker 2: really well out.
• 42:35
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true, he got Yeah, you're right.
• 42:37
Speaker 3: How about Aaron Nolah at eighteen seventy six, at age
• 42:40
Speaker 3: thirty two, But he's not the same pitcher. So I
• 42:43
Speaker 3: don't know, hope he has enough left to get that,
• 42:44
  Speaker 3: but it's possible.
• 42:46
Speaker 2: I love Nolah. I like him.
• 42:48
Speaker 1: He's a borderline hall of fame or maybe depending how
• 42:50
Speaker 1: he finishes his career.
• 42:52
Speaker 2: Remember him and his brother were playing against each other
• 42:54
  Speaker 2: in the.
• 42:54
Speaker 1: In the CS. Yeah, and then Kevin Gusman actually has
• 42:59
Speaker 1: close to two k not have thought that that's interesting?
• 43:01
Speaker 1: He has nineteen fifty four.
• 43:04
Speaker 2: Yeah. By the way, Yasivs is great, But I mean Gosman,
• 43:08
Speaker 2: what a rock for that rotation. I mean, my goodness,
• 43:12
Speaker 2: if you know they he's been solid for the Blue
• 43:15
  Speaker 2: Jays issues.
• 43:16
Speaker 3: I think Gasman's gonna get wet up tomorrow. I have
• 43:18
Speaker 3: a feeling that Dopgers hit him just because, like some
• 43:21
Speaker 3: guys have some good numbers against him, and they have
• 43:24
Speaker 3: a lot of lefties that are given problems. But the
• 43:26
Speaker 3: only thing is his sweather can neutralize lefties a little bit.
• 43:29
Speaker 3: But Trade splither is better than Gusman's. But Trade didn't
• 43:32
Speaker 3: have his field for display. I really thought what trades
• 43:35
Speaker 3: it was very impressive because like he really did not
• 43:38
Speaker 3: have that greatest stuff and he still gave them a
• 43:40
Speaker 3: good chance to win. Only give up two runs and
• 43:43
Speaker 3: he still struck out five even with Alec his best stuff.
• 43:46
Speaker 2: And you know what, from what I can see, he
• 43:48
Speaker 2: never got really into trouble at all.
• 43:50
Speaker 3: Well he did kinds of, but he got out of
• 43:52
Speaker 3: it because like he had had some bass runners, but
• 43:54
Speaker 3: like he kept getting out of it.
• 43:57
Speaker 2: How about the right by the way the Mariners in
• 44:00
  Speaker 2: the game seven.
• 44:02
Speaker 1: I'm still disappointed with what took place there.
• 44:04
Speaker 3: Should they really should have they really they really should
• 44:07
Speaker 3: have won that game And all of the.
• 44:09
Speaker 2: Double plays to end the inning was really frustrating to watch.
• 44:12
Speaker 2: And then the fielding ears it was very odd to
• 44:15
  Speaker 2: watch that too.
• 44:17
Speaker 3: Yeah, and then the decisions and I'll use muonios and
• 44:19
Speaker 3: then having and then doing a sack bumper Leo Reebos
• 44:23
Speaker 3: was definitely not the movie either, Like that doesn't make
• 44:25
Speaker 3: any sense to me, So like, yeah, I mean the
• 44:28
Speaker 3: Manners had a great year.
• 44:30
  Speaker 1: But disappointing ends.
• 44:31
Speaker 3: It would have been cool to see that make the
• 44:32
Speaker 3: World Series two never made it before. But I mean
• 44:35
Speaker 3: Toronto for thirty two years for the first time, that's
• 44:37
Speaker 3: pretty cool too. I mean, we'll see man, it'd be fun.
• 44:41
Speaker 3: So what's sort of ending because it's late, But like
• 44:44
Speaker 3: I want to ask you some Yankees thoughts, Like, all right,
• 44:47
Speaker 3: we'll end with Yankees because we're both Yankees people, and
• 44:50
Speaker 3: like a lot of people listening probably want to know
• 44:52
Speaker 3: how we're feeling. Hey, Alex, there we go. All right,
• 44:56
Speaker 3: you're closing down strong with the Yankees segment here. All right, So,
• 45:00
Speaker 3: like what do you want to see them fixing the
• 45:02
Speaker 3: off season? Like what do you think is their biggest issue?
• 45:04
Speaker 3: Do you think it's the offense falling flat in October?
• 45:07
Speaker 3: But do you trust him to shore up the bullpen?
• 45:09
Speaker 3: I think we both agreed rotations very close to being
• 45:11
Speaker 3: in a good spot, and I think that's probably the
• 45:13
Speaker 3: least mar concerns. But I'd like to see them add
• 45:15
Speaker 3: an arm because you can deal a heel or of
• 45:18
Speaker 3: war and then use one of them.
• 45:19
Speaker 1: As your six in theory. And then, like, it just
• 45:22
  Speaker 1: felt like.
• 45:25
Speaker 2: We we did not fill a couple of voids this
• 45:28
Speaker 2: past year. We tried, and I think Bell was at addition.
• 45:33
Speaker 1: Yeah, tried is a key word. That's what they keep doing,
• 45:35
Speaker 1: and they keep failing.
• 45:36
Speaker 2: We tried with Fellinger to fill some kind of void
• 45:41
  Speaker 2: that left.
• 45:42
Speaker 3: And he was solid, but in October he disappeared, unfortunately,
• 45:45
Speaker 3: and October. His October's have been very uneven, So that's
• 45:48
Speaker 3: another thing you have to think about if you're bringing
• 45:50
Speaker 3: back his October numbers are not phenomenal.
• 45:53
Speaker 2: And then people forget in May or April as Willa
• 45:58
Speaker 2: Caberg goes down with that horrific and.
• 46:01
Speaker 1: That kind of was under the radar heard more than
• 46:03
  Speaker 1: people realize.
• 46:04
Speaker 2: Yeah they did not. I know they try with McMahon,
• 46:08
Speaker 2: they did this set and the other, but they they
• 46:10
Speaker 2: could have filled that void.
• 46:11
Speaker 3: Probably, I've been talking about third base for two years.
• 46:15
Speaker 3: I just don't understand how they continue not to figure
• 46:17
Speaker 3: that out. It's been a problem for years, even beyond two.
• 46:20
Speaker 3: Probably the only time it was semi solve was for
• 46:23
Speaker 3: half a season last year with jash Chis and playing
• 46:25
  Speaker 3: third one.
• 46:25
  Speaker 1: How about I.
• 46:26
Speaker 2: Missed the Geo days? Bring him back, you know, I
• 46:28
  Speaker 2: don't know.
• 46:29
Speaker 3: Yeah, fortunately Geo's you don't think there's much juice left there.
• 46:32
Speaker 3: But like that was the last time he really felt
• 46:34
Speaker 3: fully good about third. Mcmon's okay, but like his bat
• 46:37
Speaker 3: is not the best and like he really struggles against
• 46:40
Speaker 3: left teas. You know what, his defense is very good
• 46:42
Speaker 3: and you have a good postseason though, for I would
• 46:44
Speaker 3: say he did play well in October, I'll give him that.
• 46:47
Speaker 2: I still think we missed Labor. I mean, get letting
• 46:50
  Speaker 2: Labor gon.
• 46:52
Speaker 3: I mentioned that as well. It's just like something was
• 46:54
Speaker 3: off with the Yankees and tourists. That's like, I think
• 46:57
Speaker 3: there's something behind the scenes stuff there. And why was
• 46:59
Speaker 3: he like one of the few players that Boone actually
• 47:01
Speaker 3: held accountable, Like no one else is really held accountable?
• 47:04
Speaker 3: Like why was Labor the only person that was really
• 47:06
Speaker 3: held accountable? Like Alex Radugal was jogging down the first
• 47:09
Speaker 3: base line and he was awful and nothing ever happened
• 47:11
Speaker 3: to him, Like Labor Tourist is way better than Alex Radugo.
• 47:14
Speaker 1: Like why was Dugal given so much runway? I'll never understand.
• 47:16
Speaker 1: He was not good.
• 47:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I forget about him for a second and.
• 47:21
Speaker 3: Think about what Trent Grisham did this season. Why they
• 47:24
Speaker 3: couldn't just do that switch, Like Grisham was ready to
• 47:26
Speaker 3: go and they didn't do it.
• 47:28
Speaker 2: Grisham was unbelievable this year. He has to That's a
• 47:32
Speaker 2: guy that needs to come back, I think.
• 47:33
Speaker 3: But I don't know, because like I think his market
• 47:36
Speaker 3: value something could price him out. And I'm also worried
• 47:39
Speaker 3: he got exposed in October because like his October was
• 47:41
  Speaker 3: really bad.
• 47:43
Speaker 2: I know it was, well, they all had a rough,
• 47:46
Speaker 2: rough swing except for Judge. Actually Judge, it really.
• 47:49
Speaker 3: I know it's upsetting because Judge was like the only
• 47:50
Speaker 3: person to show up and it got washed away because
• 47:52
Speaker 3: no one else did.
• 47:54
  Speaker 1: So go ahead.
• 47:55
Speaker 2: My thought though, is we cannot waste Judges a few
• 47:59
  Speaker 2: more years.
• 48:00
Speaker 1: Ye like, well, they're getting close to doing it.
• 48:02
Speaker 3: It's almost I mean he's still very good, thankfully, so
• 48:05
Speaker 3: like he's gonna win. I think he's gonna win the MVP.
• 48:08
Speaker 3: Actually over Cal, it's gonna be. It might be semi close,
• 48:10
Speaker 3: but I think Judge is gonna win it, and you
• 48:13
Speaker 3: he should. I mean, Cal, you have a great case
• 48:15
Speaker 3: for whatever you have said. Cal wonted No, not really
• 48:17
Speaker 3: because like he deserves the awards too, but Judge is
• 48:20
Speaker 3: just a little bit better.
• 48:21
  Speaker 1: Like the bad.
• 48:24
Speaker 2: Little injury that that Judge had this year, that's gonna
• 48:28
Speaker 2: be an issue. But Cal just had it all around
• 48:30
Speaker 2: unbelievable sixty home un I mean, what a season. I
• 48:35
Speaker 2: still think he gets the MV pole.
• 48:38
Speaker 3: I'll tell you why. I think Judge gets it because
• 48:40
Speaker 3: you will get the sports books. He's a heavy favorite.
• 48:43
Speaker 3: I think that's why because like the books, no, like
• 48:46
Speaker 3: if he if Judge wasn't gonna win it, he wouldn't
• 48:48
Speaker 3: be a heavy favorite. I think he's gonna win it.
• 48:51
Speaker 3: Maybe I'm wrong, but we'll see.
• 48:52
Speaker 2: You asked me what I thought. I just think they
• 48:55
Speaker 2: need that bat. They need that bat behind it with.
• 48:58
Speaker 1: That bad who. I have a few names that tossed around.
• 49:03
Speaker 3: I'll try to give some different ones out and like
• 49:06
Speaker 3: are yeah, but like I have a couple obviously, say
• 49:08
Speaker 3: like Kyle Tucker home the same much more about that.
• 49:11
Speaker 2: I know you want you want Tucker.
• 49:13
Speaker 1: I do want Tucker.
• 49:15
Speaker 2: I did like Bellinger in some respects, but there there
• 49:19
Speaker 2: needs to be another piece to this.
• 49:21
Speaker 3: I can't even if I can bring Bellinger back, but
• 49:23
Speaker 3: I need to add something else if that happens.
• 49:26
Speaker 2: So, I mean, I wish we got a couple of guys.
• 49:30
  Speaker 3: What's here is I really wanted? I think I was
• 49:34
Speaker 3: on the Suarez train for sure, and Deffly was vocal
• 49:37
  Speaker 3: about that.
• 49:38
Speaker 2: And even before he resigned with the Dodgers on my brain.
• 49:43
Speaker 1: I know Tayo with the Yankees tried.
• 49:45
Speaker 3: I think it just didn't quite materialize. Tayo is such
• 49:48
Speaker 3: a good October hitter too, Like that's the guy you need.
• 49:51
Speaker 3: And you know they tried Key k too, but went
• 49:53
Speaker 3: back to the Dodgers. K had such a good October hitter,
• 49:56
Speaker 3: Like he's so much better on October he than the
• 49:58
Speaker 3: regular seasons. Actually crazy, but I'll give you a few
• 50:01
Speaker 3: names to chew on here. So we like Kazuma Okamalo.
• 50:05
Speaker 3: Probably say Okamodo Kazuma Okamodo. I'm very interested in that.
• 50:09
Speaker 3: And I think there's a little Matt Suey connection there,
• 50:12
Speaker 3: so like maybe he can finally help us put one
• 50:14
Speaker 3: across the finish line. It's been a while they got
• 50:16
Speaker 3: to get someone. But I like kaz because he could
• 50:19
Speaker 3: spell my man at their base against leftiest. He could
• 50:21
Speaker 3: spell Rice at first base against leftiest. He doesn't with
• 50:24
Speaker 3: like Mari Kami does. He's a good contact bat. I
• 50:28
Speaker 3: think his defense is pretty solid. He's only twenty nine
• 50:30
Speaker 3: years old, so I think there's still some room to grow.
• 50:33
Speaker 3: I think he would be excellent for the Yankees. I
• 50:35
Speaker 3: don't know if they'll do it, but I would definitely
• 50:37
  Speaker 3: look into that.
• 50:38
Speaker 2: That's a name, man, I remember, we get so hype
• 50:41
Speaker 2: when these guys get posted by Japanese.
• 50:44
Speaker 1: Yeah, now you can't get high because they all the Dodgers,
• 50:47
  Speaker 1: or yeah.
• 50:48
Speaker 2: Or I don't even hear about it anymore. It's like
• 50:50
Speaker 2: I remember when Ka guy was posted and we.
• 50:52
Speaker 1: Were all, let's go get him and we good boy?
• 50:56
  Speaker 1: Could we not?
• 50:58
Speaker 2: And then and then to was to not go.
• 51:00
Speaker 3: One of those Tanaka was. I'm not sure if he
• 51:03
Speaker 3: was a straight signing or posting. I'm trying to remember.
• 51:06
  Speaker 3: There's a picture too that's out there that I want
• 51:08
Speaker 3: that I might be interesting in the Yankees getting I
• 51:12
Speaker 3: gotta look through my messages really quick.
• 51:14
Speaker 2: By the way, Sworz is not a free agent this year.
• 51:16
Speaker 1: Right is a free agent. But the thing is that
• 51:19
Speaker 1: got like man now, so I'm not gonna sign him probably. Yeah.
• 51:24
Speaker 2: I like McMahon's addition to the to the team. I
• 51:27
Speaker 2: thought it was good, but it's like we're missing that
• 51:32
Speaker 2: and I know it's gonna burn Yankee fans to just
• 51:34
Speaker 2: keep bringing it up. But Soto had a spark to
• 51:38
  Speaker 2: the lineup. I can't explain.
• 51:41
Speaker 1: He was still going October too, Like you can't really
• 51:44
  Speaker 1: replace that.
• 51:45
Speaker 2: He brought this culture.
• 51:46
Speaker 1: He like you said, they tried but they couldn't do it.
• 51:50
Speaker 2: He Yeah, And of course John Carlos postseason was really
• 51:54
Speaker 2: surprising because I thought he was gonna fallow up with
• 51:57
Speaker 2: last postseason and do like I.
• 51:59
Speaker 3: Think he might have been banged up. He didn't seem
• 52:02
Speaker 3: like himself. Let me ask you this, though, I've definitely
• 52:04
Speaker 3: brought this up on a few shows. How do you
• 52:06
Speaker 3: feel like Stan's clock is looking? I think if he
• 52:08
Speaker 3: gets off to a bad start next year, we have
• 52:10
Speaker 3: to consider pulling the plug. The Yankees can't afford to
• 52:13
Speaker 3: be inflexible with him anymore if he's not gonna show
• 52:15
Speaker 3: up in October, and then there's no reason to keep him.
• 52:18
Speaker 2: So it's been a love hate relationship with the guy
• 52:20
Speaker 2: because he when he us on, he gets these unbelievable.
• 52:23
Speaker 3: Yeah, he's not worth the money he's being paid though,
• 52:26
Speaker 3: if you think about it.
• 52:27
Speaker 2: But unfortunately there was a regression because I'm used to
• 52:31
  Speaker 2: the standing net.
• 52:32
Speaker 3: He was a beast during the regular season too. It
• 52:34
Speaker 3: was actually opposite this year. It was a great regular
• 52:36
Speaker 3: season and not total was a those show.
• 52:38
Speaker 2: But I was used to the guy that sort of
• 52:40
Speaker 2: makes out in the basis loaded situation like he did
• 52:43
Speaker 2: in the top of the fifth Like that was not
• 52:45
Speaker 2: surprising to me that that's where I feel like I
• 52:48
  Speaker 2: land on that.
• 52:49
Speaker 3: So would you would you be willing to let him go?
• 52:52
Speaker 3: Like if things don't start well for him next year?
• 52:54
Speaker 3: Like how much RELEASEH would you give him next year?
• 52:56
Speaker 3: Because I kind of wanted to like open up the
• 52:58
Speaker 3: DH but I think it's time. Like I'm not saying
• 53:01
Speaker 3: to cut him on the spot, but like how much
• 53:03
Speaker 3: warm are we gonna let this go on? For it
• 53:05
Speaker 3: it's not working, Like I know he's come close to
• 53:07
Speaker 3: helping him win the championship, but like ultimately during one
• 53:10
Speaker 3: sixty two it's not working.
• 53:11
Speaker 2: Well, it's no, it's a rough stretch now, one last thing,
• 53:15
  Speaker 2: and you know.
• 53:15
Speaker 1: We's gonna get hurt of miss time and all that too,
• 53:18
Speaker 1: so like you have to prere for it anyway.
• 53:20
Speaker 2: The boone cashman running it back again, but.
• 53:22
Speaker 1: Oh god, I'm not into that either.
• 53:25
Speaker 2: But here's why they're doing it, and I think it's because,
• 53:28
Speaker 2: let's here, Cole was injured. We didn't get this guy
• 53:32
Speaker 2: healthy that like I know.
• 53:34
Speaker 3: That's what they say this all the time, and it's
• 53:36
Speaker 3: like the same song and dance. But look, I mean, look,
• 53:39
Speaker 3: maybe this time is finally it, Like I don't know
• 53:41
Speaker 3: for sure. I mean, look, Boon only is one year
• 53:43
Speaker 3: left after this year, and they're going into a lockout,
• 53:45
Speaker 3: so like if there was a time to blow it up,
• 53:47
Speaker 3: it would be after next year. Give it one more
• 53:49
Speaker 3: shot next year, I guess, Like I hate saying running back,
• 53:52
Speaker 3: it is like it hasn't really worked, don't running back? Well,
• 53:54
Speaker 3: fix the roster and in the back, I guess, because
• 53:56
Speaker 3: that's what we're gonna do. But like what they actually
• 53:58
Speaker 3: considered moving on from both of them if they if
• 54:00
Speaker 3: they fail again next year going into the lockout, I
• 54:02
Speaker 3: don't know. Maybe maybe they would at that point because
• 54:05
Speaker 3: how many more times you're gonna keep banging your head
• 54:07
Speaker 3: against the wall with the same formula and expecting as
• 54:09
Speaker 3: every result good regular season, above average semi elite get
• 54:13
Speaker 3: ran over in October either the DSCS or the World
• 54:17
Speaker 3: Series like last year, Like I get it for one
• 54:20
Speaker 3: more I guess, because like there's not really great options.
• 54:22
Speaker 3: Probably replaced the room right now, but like I'm just
• 54:25
Speaker 3: not like excited about it.
• 54:27
Speaker 2: Well, they need to add that spark, and I don't
• 54:29
Speaker 2: know if an Alonzo spark is the answer, because he's
• 54:32
  Speaker 2: getting older too.
• 54:33
Speaker 3: And he's also all or nothing to a lot, even
• 54:35
Speaker 3: though his average was better this year, but he does
• 54:37
Speaker 3: describing a lot of runs.
• 54:39
Speaker 2: He can be a producer. Rice Harper another guy that's
• 54:42
  Speaker 2: a little older, And I mean, I don't know if
• 54:45
  Speaker 2: that's the answer, it's.
• 54:47
Speaker 1: Not gonna happen. I don't think. I think they kind
• 54:48
Speaker 1: of poured water on that.
• 54:49
Speaker 3: Like I think Dombrowski and Harper has some miscommunications, but
• 54:52
Speaker 3: he doesn't want to actually trade him. It would be
• 54:54
Speaker 3: an interesting idea, like I think they could a while ago,
• 54:57
Speaker 3: but like what I take, one's the Rice circumstance A sure,
• 55:01
Speaker 3: But here's a few other names to chew on. I like,
• 55:05
Speaker 3: I've talked about Kwan before, but I don't really think
• 55:07
Speaker 3: that's gonna happen. Probably so I'll dismiss him. I'll give
• 55:11
Speaker 3: you my favorite name outside the box. You would love this,
• 55:14
Speaker 3: but you have gonna have to move the infield around
• 55:15
Speaker 3: a little bit. Can tell Marte the Diamondbacks wanted deal. Marte,
• 55:21
Speaker 3: it's not a secret, like he's gonna be out there.
• 55:24
Speaker 3: I know you have to put Jazz back to third,
• 55:26
Speaker 3: but if you get could tell it's a guy we're.
• 55:28
  Speaker 1: Doing that for.
• 55:30
Speaker 2: I like it. And then.
• 55:33
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 55:34
  Speaker 2: I mean, I don't even know.
• 55:36
Speaker 1: Exactly what it would cost, but figure it out. He's
• 55:38
  Speaker 1: out there.
• 55:39
Speaker 2: I need to figure out who else is on the
• 55:40
Speaker 2: free agent list like I got.
• 55:42
Speaker 3: I can give you a few other ones. Josh Naylor
• 55:44
Speaker 3: is an interesting name, but the Manners probably resigned is
• 55:49
Speaker 3: actually really good. But like the Miners are making the
• 55:51
Speaker 3: priority that we signed him. I would have liked Suarez
• 55:54
Speaker 3: as man, but it's too late now.
• 55:56
  Speaker 1: Unfortunately.
• 55:56
Speaker 3: I think I would have liked that as well, just
• 55:59
Speaker 3: because he is more offensively and his defense is not
• 56:01
Speaker 3: as bad as people think. I thought he did alright defensive.
• 56:04
Speaker 3: He's not gonna be a Gold Glove winner, but he's
• 56:05
Speaker 3: not that bad at.
• 56:07
Speaker 2: That Grand Slam, because like that that that Grand Slam
• 56:10
  Speaker 2: was he was.
• 56:11
Speaker 1: I know he was good.
• 56:12
Speaker 3: He had a he had a good run in the end.
• 56:14
Speaker 3: I know it's a post season was not great overall,
• 56:16
Speaker 3: but he did a lock when he had to.
• 56:18
Speaker 1: He had a few.
• 56:19
Speaker 3: I think he had a hit in Game seven too,
• 56:20
Speaker 3: I remember correctly. I think there was at least one
• 56:22
Speaker 3: hit from him in Game seven.
• 56:24
  Speaker 2: No, I'm hearing people want a new catcher. I don't
• 56:26
Speaker 2: even know it was a free agent.
• 56:28
Speaker 1: People are talking about j t row Mouto with Austin Wells,
• 56:31
  Speaker 1: which I could get behind a little bit. I wouldn't
• 56:33
  Speaker 1: hate it.
• 56:33
Speaker 3: Like at first I was kind of like no, but now, like,
• 56:35
Speaker 3: you know what, fine, because like he's a bad he's
• 56:37
  Speaker 3: looking for a ring. He's a platoon, right, He's not
• 56:39
Speaker 3: gonna play all the time.
• 56:40
Speaker 1: But I could do that.
• 56:40
Speaker 3: Sure, I shouldn't cost too much money at this point
• 56:43
Speaker 3: in his career. Yeah, it's but are you willing to
• 56:46
Speaker 3: put Ben Rice in first base full time? That's I
• 56:50
Speaker 3: don't like him. I don't like him defensively to either spot.
• 56:53
Speaker 3: To be honest with you, I wish he could just the.
• 56:56
  Speaker 2: H He's a great he's a great hitter.
• 56:58
  Speaker 1: That's that's what I mean. That's what I mean.
• 57:01
Speaker 2: I try. I trust this field. I could get by
• 57:03
Speaker 2: in this fielding a little.
• 57:04
Speaker 1: Bit, I guess at first, not really a catches. I
• 57:08
  Speaker 1: don't think. I don't think he's good behind the.
• 57:10
Speaker 2: Plate for Eduardo, for Eduardo Perez to attack him the
• 57:14
Speaker 2: way he did, like saying, oh, that's because of an experience.
• 57:18
Speaker 2: He's a kid, and you know what, you gotta get
• 57:21
Speaker 2: him through that moment and then move on, you know,
• 57:24
Speaker 2: move move forward with him. But I trust him. I
• 57:26
Speaker 2: like him. I think he's gotta be around the nights
• 57:29
Speaker 2: for a long time.
• 57:30
Speaker 1: So you know, he's just gonna stick. Like he's a
• 57:32
  Speaker 1: good hitter.
• 57:32
Speaker 3: Like the reason why moving Stan will be appealing is
• 57:35
Speaker 3: because you can get off Stan and your th h
• 57:37
Speaker 3: Rice and then you get a real first baseman and
• 57:39
Speaker 3: then that looks a lot better. And then when you
• 57:42
Speaker 3: get a guy like ja c the platoon and then
• 57:45
Speaker 3: you can go from there.
• 57:46
Speaker 1: Maybe. But like, I don't know, Austin had a really
• 57:50
  Speaker 1: good I'm not.
• 57:52
Speaker 3: Out on all still wells. I think he'll be fine.
• 57:53
Speaker 3: He actually does a lot of things well still because
• 57:55
Speaker 3: averaging is to improve. His ops needs to improve. But
• 57:59
Speaker 3: he's not I'm not out on him. He had a
• 58:01
Speaker 3: down year, for sure. I think he can kind of
• 58:03
Speaker 3: figure it out. I'm trying to think of another name.
• 58:06
Speaker 3: I saw the free agent list that since it's my
• 58:08
Speaker 3: friend the other day, it's really not as good as
• 58:10
Speaker 3: you would like a base hot right, because there's a
• 58:14
Speaker 3: couple of names, but like they don't necessarily fit the Yankees.
• 58:17
  Speaker 1: That's the problem.
• 58:19
Speaker 3: Let me check this message I said with my friend
• 58:22
Speaker 3: because I was talking with the top two, Like Harrison
• 58:24
Speaker 3: Bay was listed as ten. Yeah, like that's all you
• 58:26
Speaker 3: need to know, Like he was listed as ten and
• 58:29
Speaker 3: he actually is decent, but he's not obviously he's not
• 58:32
Speaker 3: coming back, so like we don't need to worry about that.
• 58:34
Speaker 2: But really it is no longer with the Orioles.
• 58:37
Speaker 1: But I mean, I'm gonna say absolutely not. I know
• 58:41
Speaker 1: some people were saying they want to do that.
• 58:43
Speaker 3: I would not at all for millions different reasons, so
• 58:48
Speaker 3: we don't need to really go there. But trying to
• 58:51
Speaker 3: look at the list, it's not great though. I remember
• 58:55
Speaker 3: Tucker's at the top, Bellanjer was like fifth. Sarez and
• 58:58
Speaker 3: Nail are on it, but I don't think the Yankees
• 59:00
Speaker 3: getting either one of them, so I don't even really
• 59:03
  Speaker 3: look at them.
• 59:04
  Speaker 1: Again.
• 59:04
Speaker 3: This is gonna take a while to get through, but
• 59:07
  Speaker 3: I'm getting closer, right thing. I mean, I wish I
• 59:10
Speaker 3: could just find the bleacher Report, Baseball you know what.
• 59:13
Speaker 1: I think I could do it. Yeah, it'll be easier
• 59:16
Speaker 1: this way. Nope, I guess not, but I'll get I
• 59:23
Speaker 1: just don't before we're gonna go as soon as I'll
• 59:25
Speaker 1: worry about, Like I just want to.
• 59:26
Speaker 2: See that Maxman's got up for a Gold Glove. Do
• 59:29
Speaker 2: you think he's gonna get it?
• 59:30
  Speaker 1: Yeah, he could.
• 59:31
Speaker 3: He's a pretty good defenser. I know he won, Like
• 59:33
Speaker 3: one of the news publications put him as the winner.
• 59:37
  Speaker 3: So I mean, it's possible.
• 59:41
Speaker 1: Let me see. I'm getting closer to it, by the way,
• 59:45
Speaker 1: I was looking at a bunch of stuff with how
• 59:47
Speaker 1: Kazumo Komodo. It's like close to Matsui because like the
• 59:50
Speaker 1: your Murray Giants tie in the MPB. So I don't know.
• 59:55
Speaker 3: I mean, if the Yankees are willing to put an
• 59:57
Speaker 3: offer out there, then they exactly get him because the
• 1:00:00
Speaker 3: Dodgers good news for everyone that's said of them getting
• 1:00:03
Speaker 3: Jabanese players is that they only have space for one more.
• 1:00:06
Speaker 3: Because here's the thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, here's the problem too.
• 1:00:13
Speaker 3: I'm looking at the list.
• 1:00:14
Speaker 1: It's actually not a bad list, but like it's not
• 1:00:16
Speaker 1: the Yankees fit list unfortunately. So I'll explain it to
• 1:00:20
  Speaker 1: you quickly.
• 1:00:22
Speaker 3: So people were saying that about like shit, what was
• 1:00:27
Speaker 3: my what was I saying before the ten players? Like
• 1:00:29
Speaker 3: I was going on about something crap like certain player fits.
• 1:00:37
Speaker 3: I think, But I'll go through the list and we'll
• 1:00:39
Speaker 3: get back to it. So Alex Pregnant's on the list,
• 1:00:41
Speaker 3: for instance, Yeah, that's not happening for a million different reasons.
• 1:00:45
Speaker 3: Someone put in my comments and you should got pregnant.
• 1:00:47
Speaker 3: I was like, it's not even worth talking about. It's
• 1:00:49
Speaker 3: just not gonna happen. So I'm not I'm dismissing that. Well,
• 1:00:53
Speaker 3: I think we lost him, but he might be back.
• 1:00:55
  Speaker 1: We'll see, but.
• 1:00:59
Speaker 3: I'll finished that. So it was like, Boba Shep, don't
• 1:01:04
Speaker 3: see the Yankees posishing out the money for him. I've
• 1:01:07
Speaker 3: talked about that before, even if they weren't interested. The
• 1:01:12
Speaker 3: Blue Jays are not just gonna let that happen. Okay, back, Okay,
• 1:01:17
Speaker 3: So Alex bregnant, No, though, obviously don't need to get
• 1:01:20
Speaker 3: into that Boba sheet, No chance. I don't think the
• 1:01:22
Speaker 3: Yankees are not paying Boba Schet two hundred million dollars.
• 1:01:27
  Speaker 2: No, I don't think they're gonna That's the only thing.
• 1:01:29
Speaker 2: How much are they willing to spend on these guys,
• 1:01:31
Speaker 2: that's the other question.
• 1:01:32
Speaker 3: They're not getting either of those guys, and those are
• 1:01:34
Speaker 3: some of the top hitters. Kyle Schwarber does not fit
• 1:01:37
Speaker 3: the Yankees for millions different reasons. He's they can't afford
• 1:01:42
  Speaker 3: go ahead.
• 1:01:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, but I love his swing and I think he'd
• 1:01:44
Speaker 2: be great in that short port.
• 1:01:46
Speaker 3: He would be, But there's three issues with Kyle. If
• 1:01:50
Speaker 3: he's another all or nothing guy, they don't need that.
• 1:01:53
Speaker 3: The second one is that he doesn't have a position
• 1:01:56
Speaker 3: and they can't have another DH. And it's just like
• 1:01:59
Speaker 3: the not gonna want to pay him either. That's so
• 1:02:02
Speaker 3: there's my three problems with that. Let's think then, So
• 1:02:08
Speaker 3: I'm going through more pee Alonso maybe, but I don't
• 1:02:12
  Speaker 3: think so.
• 1:02:12
Speaker 1: I'll put that like a small perspect.
• 1:02:16
Speaker 2: You were around the Tigers, the scoop. All trade rumors
• 1:02:19
Speaker 2: drive me crazy, the trade their cornerstone pictures with you.
• 1:02:24
  Speaker 3: I don't think they're gonna trade me either. I'm just
• 1:02:27
Speaker 3: like being out there and like seeing all that. Like
• 1:02:29
Speaker 3: that would that would like be such a big blow
• 1:02:31
  Speaker 3: to them.
• 1:02:31
Speaker 1: They can't do that.
• 1:02:33
Speaker 3: I think they're gonna take one more wrong with him.
• 1:02:34
Speaker 3: They was in pre agency, it was in a free agency.
• 1:02:37
Speaker 3: They got to try to stack the deck to win
• 1:02:39
Speaker 3: with him one last time in case they don't retain him.
• 1:02:41
  Speaker 3: I can't see them trading him. I'd be stunned, I
• 1:02:44
  Speaker 3: really would be. Maybe I'm wrong. I think it's a
• 1:02:46
Speaker 3: bunch of nonsense in here stage. I think it's all
• 1:02:48
Speaker 3: speculations because he has one year left in this deal.
• 1:02:51
  Speaker 3: I don't think he's getting traded. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong,
• 1:02:54
  Speaker 3: but I don't think so. It's making me drive. It's
• 1:02:59
  Speaker 3: driving me crazy.
• 1:02:59
Speaker 1: It's well because like I don't enjoy those rumors.
• 1:03:02
Speaker 3: Really go through the rest and then and then the
• 1:03:06
Speaker 3: list ends with Cody Krent, which I might get one
• 1:03:10
Speaker 3: back on both, probably.
• 1:03:11
Speaker 1: Suarez Nail or An Harrison Bader.
• 1:03:14
Speaker 3: So it's not like the greatest free agent list based
• 1:03:16
Speaker 3: on the Yankees fits needs how much you won't to
• 1:03:18
Speaker 3: spend like it's not great.
• 1:03:20
Speaker 1: That's why I'm thinking more about trades.
• 1:03:22
Speaker 2: Maybe I know I missed the era where you would
• 1:03:25
Speaker 2: sign a idea, a text and as my friend said,
• 1:03:29
Speaker 2: Swisher and win a World Series.
• 1:03:31
Speaker 1: I know they don't do that anymore. That's the problem.
• 1:03:34
Speaker 3: They'll do that, they'll do they'll get one player or two,
• 1:03:38
Speaker 3: but they're not gonna do all that. Like Cody Bucher
• 1:03:41
Speaker 3: was a one year deal. Basically, that's not that wasn't
• 1:03:44
Speaker 3: even a lot of money. Max Free was a big deal. Yes,
• 1:03:46
Speaker 3: Devid Williams another one year. And then what else did
• 1:03:49
Speaker 3: they add? That was the Big three Goldsmid one year deal.
• 1:03:54
Speaker 3: Like they didn't really go all in last off season either,
• 1:03:56
Speaker 3: even though they're losing solo. It was like Ban's aid patchwork,
• 1:03:59
Speaker 3: like they tried to make it all stick together.
• 1:04:02
Speaker 2: Yeah, no they did. That's that lineup was not gonna
• 1:04:06
  Speaker 2: win a series.
• 1:04:07
  Speaker 1: No it wasn't.
• 1:04:08
Speaker 3: I was saying that the whole season, and people didn't
• 1:04:10
Speaker 3: want to listen. I was like, it's just not like
• 1:04:11
Speaker 3: you guys don't see when the time comes. And now
• 1:04:14
Speaker 3: as soon as the time comes, everyone's quiet.
• 1:04:16
Speaker 2: Now wait, wait, one last thing. The Otani to Toronto rumor.
• 1:04:22
Speaker 2: I guess they almost matched the Dodgers. Why would he
• 1:04:26
Speaker 2: go to Toronto. I don't understand that that was a
• 1:04:29
Speaker 2: bustle that could have actually.
• 1:04:30
Speaker 3: Happened, because they were definitely the runners up. I do
• 1:04:33
Speaker 3: I believe that wholeheartedly.
• 1:04:35
  Speaker 1: The Dodgers.
• 1:04:36
Speaker 3: The Blue Jays definitely threw the seven hundred at him,
• 1:04:38
Speaker 3: like it was right there. I really do think there
• 1:04:41
Speaker 3: was a shot there. It was kind of close, I guess,
• 1:04:44
Speaker 3: but like he wanted La for millions different reasons, Like
• 1:04:47
Speaker 3: I don't actually think the Blue Jays wherever gonna get him.
• 1:04:49
Speaker 1: But like they were in the running. Yeah, I mean
• 1:04:53
Speaker 1: the free agent markets not great for the Yankees.
• 1:04:56
Speaker 2: As just completely devastating their face base because you tease
• 1:05:02
Speaker 2: them with Trout and Otani and you get nothing. You
• 1:05:06
Speaker 2: get nothing from me from that problem.
• 1:05:09
Speaker 1: Can I just say one thing? Crazy?
• 1:05:11
Speaker 3: They signed their manager to a one year deal. Who
• 1:05:13
Speaker 3: the hell signs their manager to a one year deal?
• 1:05:16
Speaker 3: And why would he agree to it? I have I
• 1:05:19
Speaker 3: have so many issues and questions with that. Now do
• 1:05:22
Speaker 3: you first of all, why? First of all, why do
• 1:05:24
Speaker 3: you do it? Second of all, who agrees to that?
• 1:05:26
Speaker 2: Like? What a one year deal?
• 1:05:31
Speaker 1: A one year deal for a guy that's never managed before?
• 1:05:37
Speaker 2: By the way, I thought Tito was gonna manage the
• 1:05:39
Speaker 2: Reds a little more into the post and he's he's
• 1:05:42
Speaker 2: a really great manager.
• 1:05:43
  Speaker 1: But I don't know.
• 1:05:44
Speaker 2: This time running down too, I don't know. I don't know.
• 1:05:47
Speaker 3: Yeah, let me see, let me just try to do
• 1:05:50
Speaker 3: something quick. I'm trying to look at MLB trade can
• 1:05:52
Speaker 3: it's like top all season trade. Can't see if there's
• 1:05:54
Speaker 3: a bad that like could make some sense.
• 1:05:59
Speaker 2: Imagine Cow comes to the Yankees.
• 1:06:03
Speaker 3: I'm trying to look, all right, I found something that
• 1:06:06
Speaker 3: we'll see. If it goes in, it goes interesting. I'm
• 1:06:10
Speaker 3: going to see. I don't know how good this list is,
• 1:06:13
Speaker 3: but we'll have some fun with it. The Yankees aren't
• 1:06:15
Speaker 3: cutting Trout, that's not gonna happen. Oh no, this is
• 1:06:19
Speaker 3: the old one's ship. Why are you serious? Like, how
• 1:06:22
Speaker 3: do we not have updated once? But the Yankees are
• 1:06:24
Speaker 3: still a cleaning trout. I'm trying to think. Can you
• 1:06:31
Speaker 3: think of any random bats? I'm messing that the Yankees
• 1:06:33
Speaker 3: gonna try to make her own act?
• 1:06:36
  Speaker 2: Are you?
• 1:06:38
Speaker 1: Are you into Mura comedy or no?
• 1:06:41
Speaker 2: I've really known about the guy, so you're you're intraditionally
• 1:06:43
Speaker 2: someone I'm not really heard of before.
• 1:06:45
Speaker 3: Yeah, I just like he has a lot of power,
• 1:06:48
Speaker 3: but like strikeout where he is not good. I'm trying
• 1:06:53
Speaker 3: to look for some guys that can go all right,
• 1:06:58
Speaker 3: now this is updated.
• 1:07:00
Speaker 1: Okay, here we go.
• 1:07:01
Speaker 3: It's sorry, this will be top twenty five trade trips. Okay,
• 1:07:05
Speaker 3: now we're really getting somewhere. Ryan Jeffers, No, I don't
• 1:07:08
Speaker 3: think so it's always Garcia not quite. I would have
• 1:07:13
Speaker 3: said yes to that a couple of years ago. Alec Boum, No,
• 1:07:18
Speaker 3: will we step a Rino, No, Noman, are not all
• 1:07:22
Speaker 3: absolutely not. Pete Fairbanks, sure, Laarres Newbar interesting but probably not.
• 1:07:32
Speaker 3: Bailey Ober, Jeff McNeil, nah Brandon Wow, I mean the
• 1:07:38
Speaker 3: Braids are not gonna make him.
• 1:07:39
Speaker 2: A game agents. Are they actual free agents?
• 1:07:43
  Speaker 1: No?
• 1:07:44
Speaker 3: These are guys that could be trade candidates who are
• 1:07:46
Speaker 3: running out deals or teams ready to rebuild or something.
• 1:07:48
Speaker 3: Taylor Ward No, Brendan Donald and yes, if that would
• 1:07:53
Speaker 3: actually happen. Yes, Sonny Gray no.
• 1:07:57
  Speaker 1: O.
• 1:07:58
Speaker 3: Neil Cruz had an interesting fun idea, but love but
• 1:08:02
Speaker 3: he's very all or not being the only problem with him.
• 1:08:05
Speaker 3: But maybe they could fix him. Edwin Cabrera probably too
• 1:08:09
Speaker 3: rich for the Yankees taste. Mitch Keller, They definitely tried
• 1:08:13
Speaker 3: that one. Maybe Yandy Diaz if the Raids would actually
• 1:08:16
Speaker 3: trade him. Sure, likedut it to us to the Yankees.
• 1:08:19
  Speaker 3: Pablo Lopez interested.
• 1:08:21
Speaker 2: Me but want or no?
• 1:08:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, I kind of like Ramsey, but that was not
• 1:08:27
Speaker 1: really in the card.
• 1:08:28
Speaker 3: Sandy al Kintara, Yes, Mackenzie Gore maybe, Adley Rushmand Nope,
• 1:08:36
Speaker 3: not coming to the Yankees.
• 1:08:40
Speaker 1: Stephen Kwan, Yeah, and we did talk about Kwan.
• 1:08:44
Speaker 3: Maybe Jared Duran not coming to the Yankees, Yes, Freddy
• 1:08:49
Speaker 3: Peralta maybe, and then Joe Ryan. Absolutely. They could do
• 1:08:54
Speaker 3: it somehow, but that's gonna be tough to do. Yeah,
• 1:09:00
Speaker 3: none of those are like amazing bad options. I'll give
• 1:09:06
Speaker 3: you one. I like that's like interestingly quiet Corey Seeger.
• 1:09:12
  Speaker 2: Wow.
• 1:09:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, I did not know he was a free agent.
• 1:09:17
Speaker 3: No, Seagers could be a trade hands because the Rangers
• 1:09:20
Speaker 3: are gonna cut pay roll. It's not Ana slams on
• 1:09:22
Speaker 3: put like it's possible. All right, I think we're gonna
• 1:09:30
  Speaker 3: cut it out.
• 1:09:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, rock and roll, But this was this has been fun.
• 1:09:35
Speaker 2: I gotta check out the free agents and I'll get
• 1:09:38
Speaker 2: back to you with the better idea of who I
• 1:09:40
Speaker 2: think we should pick up.
• 1:09:41
Speaker 1: It's okay, it's early. The World series hasn't ended yet.
• 1:09:44
  Speaker 1: You're fine.
• 1:09:46
Speaker 3: I'm gonna drop my hands. Don't need to drop yours.

Speaker 2: You, Alex Street and I see one or one leg
• 1:10:11
Speaker 2: Alex Instagram and X and we post a lot of there,
• 1:10:17
Speaker 2: as Julian can tell you. And I'm sure, I'm sure
• 1:10:24
Speaker 2: that NFL Sunday is going to be fun this weekend.
• 1:10:28
  Speaker 2: I know you're a Jet then, and I am so
• 1:10:30
Speaker 2: sorry about that because that.
• 1:10:31
Speaker 1: Is I actually quit the Jets. I'm wearing a Lion
• 1:10:33
Speaker 1: shirt right now. I gave up.
• 1:10:35
Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you.
• 1:10:39
Speaker 3: Look, look I got the Detroit Lions shirt on and
• 1:10:41
Speaker 3: I'm not even kidding. I'm actually being serious.
• 1:10:44
  Speaker 1: Like it's not you're.
• 1:10:45
Speaker 2: Starting to fall in love with Detroit.
• 1:10:47
Speaker 1: So I'm like excited, I'm done with I'm done with
• 1:10:50
Speaker 1: the Jets, Like I'm actually done.
• 1:10:53
  Speaker 2: It's just it's it's very disheartening.
• 1:10:55
Speaker 3: And then the just it is just starting and it
• 1:10:58
Speaker 3: hurt me a lot, Like it wasn't an easy thing
• 1:10:59
Speaker 3: to to, Like you think I want to switch teams
• 1:11:01
Speaker 3: in my thirties, Like no, I'm just a little bit fraudulent,
• 1:11:03
Speaker 3: and we'll be honest, but like I just can't take
• 1:11:05
Speaker 3: it anymore. Done, Like there's no hope, Like I'm not
• 1:11:08
Speaker 3: just gonna subject myself to like losing every single season
• 1:11:11
Speaker 3: and with no ends in sight, Like I'm good, go ahead, brother,
• 1:11:22
  Speaker 3: what oh yeah?
• 1:11:23
Speaker 2: No? I mean my final takeaway is this, as far
• 1:11:26
Speaker 2: as the World Series goes, I think Toronto will make
• 1:11:30
Speaker 2: it happen. I just I gotta feeling with their hangings
• 1:11:33
Speaker 2: and to overcome the Dodgers. And as far as free
• 1:11:36
Speaker 2: agents go, I don't know who we get. I feel
• 1:11:39
Speaker 2: like I can't bank on anybody right now, so we got.
• 1:11:42
Speaker 3: Can They don't know what the budget's gonna be, like
• 1:11:44
Speaker 3: what haws and will allow? Like are they going over
• 1:11:46
Speaker 3: to tax or is he? Is he trying to cut
• 1:11:48
Speaker 3: pay rolling into the lockout? Which will be if you
• 1:11:50
Speaker 3: brought my minds out? But you never know, And then
• 1:11:53
Speaker 3: you know, the Giants at least have hope. The Giants
• 1:11:55
  Speaker 3: have a quarterback.
• 1:11:55
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the Giants. The Giants tomorrow three and five
• 1:11:59
  Speaker 2: is still.
• 1:12:00
Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly do look and even if they don't win
• 1:12:03
Speaker 3: this year, at least you know you have a quarterback.
• 1:12:06
Speaker 3: And the Jets haven't had a quarterback since I was
• 1:12:08
Speaker 3: a baby, probably, so I'm about good. And the ownerships
• 1:12:11
  Speaker 3: a circus, like there's it's an aptitude. It's embarrassment. Like
• 1:12:15
Speaker 3: the head coaches change, GM's change, the players, change quarterback,
• 1:12:18
Speaker 3: change the owners of one constant until he gets out
• 1:12:21
  Speaker 3: of the way.
• 1:12:21
Speaker 1: That team's going nowhere.
• 1:12:27
Speaker 2: Julie, this is awesome.
• 1:12:29
Speaker 3: Thanks Alex, thank you for hopping in and Laate know this.
• 1:12:32
Speaker 3: I really appreciate you. I tell you what, we could
• 1:12:35
Speaker 3: try another one of these games, like in another series.
• 1:12:38
Speaker 3: I'll give you more notice and you can we can
• 1:12:41
Speaker 3: do we can plan it better, like we get stuff
• 1:12:43
Speaker 3: the cameras and everything, Like what could you do like
• 1:12:46
Speaker 3: a game three or a Game four?
• 1:12:47
  Speaker 1: Maybe?
• 1:12:48
Speaker 3: Like I think I have different plans for tomorrow, but like,
• 1:12:50
Speaker 3: could you do one of the Dodger games maybe postgame?
• 1:12:53
Speaker 2: Oh definitely, I want to do that. By the way,
• 1:12:56
Speaker 2: I couldn't help but think of that Game one from
• 1:12:59
Speaker 2: last year. And that's another reason why I want the
• 1:13:01
  Speaker 2: Dodgers to lose.
• 1:13:02
Speaker 3: So you know, oh yeah no, look but yeah no,
• 1:13:04
Speaker 3: like the back to back thing I get, like the
• 1:13:07
Speaker 3: baseball to trying to stay.
• 1:13:09
Speaker 2: People say that the Blue Jays chirped the Dodgers were
• 1:13:13
Speaker 2: like talking smack the whole championship, you know, Parain and
• 1:13:18
  Speaker 2: all that.
• 1:13:19
  Speaker 1: I don't know. I just yeah.
• 1:13:20
Speaker 3: And I'm not bothered by the Blue Jays chirping because
• 1:13:23
Speaker 3: they owned the Yankees. They backed it up, like what
• 1:13:25
Speaker 3: are you gonna like? Why are people even complaining about
• 1:13:28
Speaker 3: it anymore? The Yankees had their chance to shut them up,
• 1:13:30
Speaker 3: and they failed, so they could say whatever they want.
• 1:13:32
Speaker 3: They got them barrassed by the Blue Jays this year.
• 1:13:35
Speaker 2: Games they like go to ways. That's that's where I
• 1:13:38
Speaker 2: think it's the difference.
• 1:13:39
Speaker 1: Yep, that's sweep in Toronto.
• 1:13:41
Speaker 3: That sold the whole story, all right, man, catching them, Yes,
• 1:13:46
Speaker 3: I'll hit you up for another game, thanks, Alex.
• 1:13:48
Speaker 1: And yet we're gone, Canna
