Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_03]: Hi guys, it's Martin here and welcome to the final episode of Eagles Don't Hunt Flies right here on the poison run network and this is a message I'm recording after.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_03]: We finished the show just to say that at that time the start of our show because typical last episode I had a bunch of audio issues.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_03]: If you want to see the full show it's still upon YouTube won't recommend it for the first ten minutes because might for some reason
- 0:25[SPEAKER_03]: stream yard was picking up a mic from my headphones and there were loads of audio spikes and making some awful noises.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_03]: So obviously I had to dip out and sort all my audio out.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_03]: So I had to cut the opening of the show out while I'm just from the six I great show.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_03]: I great guests that we had on Jesse and Brandon, Philibus, that for a bit while I sort of my audio issues out.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_03]: So we jump in just as we were about start talking about the matches from the AW selection box.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_03]: So yep, enjoy and thanks for listening.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's go on chronological order that this was the order that Martin sent me the matches in, so I presume we're starting with the tag.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: Well, give me your first impressions of the buildup for this match.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, this was a real walk down memory land.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: So we just had dynamite three hundred, right?
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: And I was thinking like, oh, so this, it's been on the air now for over five years.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: I just think like back to when I was again, how much wrestling changed over a five year period.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, it doesn't really change that much.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_02]: But going back to watch this, it did feel like it changed a lot.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_03]: It is much that the young bucks might press one, two, one, two, one, two.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you son, great.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_03]: Next film.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_03]: I don't believe you.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, Shield.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry, Jesse, I didn't mean to call you off-carry on May.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, demon Martin.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I just reminded that the young books are now rehashing the same characters, but they have a whole cycle of characters in between that we don't back to them, which I thought was a little bit interesting.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_02]: And then you remember that the awful exploding ring.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_02]: which actually was pretty good for us in storytelling.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_02]: It just had the bad fortune to have awful pyro.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was a walk down memory lane and I think it was one of the Kingston Moxley stories, one of the better ones they told.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: But I guess you could argue
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you didn't get the payoff that the build-up suggested should, like, I don't remember that having this great tag run or whatever, but perhaps that's brand new to, maybe I'd still become.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_02]: One never knows.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_02]: What do you mean on that bone?
- 2:40[SPEAKER_02]: I think so.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: But then that course that it plans on the body of Eddie Kingston, because who knows what it'll be able to do going forward.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: We shouldn't just assume that he'll be fine in this great as he ever was, because he was an older guy, and that's a bad injury.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's a big man though.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a lot of meat.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I think I think it'll be he can go into his Mick Foley style run like he is a master of hardcore matches or whatever.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like the sandman.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the sandman survived so many years to a lot of.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: or isn't this Singapore came up in the air in the same drunk guys look I'm swinging the Singapore king and I'm drinking a beer I'm saying that okay this was funny what was funny about this much is it did prop tape we back because this was the last
- 3:29[SPEAKER_03]: ad will be played for views come from daily's place when it's coming out of the code we'd put it down pandemic because i think i think they're according to work videos about five thousand and ten minutes for it and boy they are allowed for this this is obviously for the books is um... a.d.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_03]: will you tag titles and i think looking back i was looking to some of the background on this one and this is the first time the books had gone properly heal in a.d.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_03]: will you because obviously they do have a lot of healish tendencies and even in the v.t.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_03]: before
- 3:58[SPEAKER_03]: the match they are saying, you know, we didn't change.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_03]: I might have got a nose ring, but we haven't changed that much.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, it was the first time they sort of like turned the back on the fans, you know, there was mocks and Kingston had, you know, gone against the elite, the team looked after that, exploring by a death match.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_03]: The mocks are against Kenny O'Megger and the team looked and gone after the elite and they had all those run-ins with
- 4:21[SPEAKER_03]: Doc Gallows and Carl Anderson.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_03]: It was like the elite were trying to get them to get the books on side and then eventually they turned the backs on a manager.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_03]: Just remember looking back and looking through the research for this in the books.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_03]: It was all about other books and more concerned now with you know wearing expensive trainers and doing all this other stuff.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_03]: And I remember a mux and kinks that actually stole the trainers from the books and set them on fire and stuff.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_03]: But I did
- 4:48[SPEAKER_03]: really, really enjoyed this much though.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously I don't call it Senate.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_03]: We had a bunch of running less meaningful as they were from Anderson and Galais.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they literally came out there and then got shot to the back and did anyone remember Frankie his area and being the elite hunter?
- 5:05[SPEAKER_03]: That was something that I'd completely forgotten about.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he was like, was he still doing the elite hunter stuff or whatever?
- 5:14[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's what it was.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_03]: He came out to like dispatch of Carland, and I think, and they were like, oh, look, there's Frankie, because they're in the Elite Honda, and I was completely forgotten that, even I couldn't.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_03]: But I mean, the books were just all over this match weren't there.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they were doing the typical sort of tag team thing, cutting the ring in half.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_03]: being as cocky as ever doing a load of Hulk Hogan, sort of like to the A-things and doing a load of WWE things.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_03]: Even try doing a bunch of shield spots on Moxley to not much success, but I mean if you're not a fan of the books, I don't think you're all of like this much, but I really really enjoyed it.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_03]: Like I said, it really took me back to that time, sort of like when we couldn't really go outside and so
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: Those are good times man.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: I remember the streets nobody were on the man.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: I could drive here to eternity for work and nobody would bother me and I could just do my thing and it was just being podcast.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: I love what a time to be alive.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: and a lot of the only cell in real life and same when we had was wrestling money like a do you do in the shows that they least play so there's only like take the lane like sporting it was so bizarre what what a mere time full of matches we know funds in the crowd and stuff like that was a bizarre time and it was those wrestling fans are psychos man willing to risk it all to take the seat of people mad like dude leave me alone don't get me sick
- 6:45[SPEAKER_03]: Well, yeah, I did have a lot of fun this with this one.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_03]: You know, obviously you had all the show blown from, I wouldn't say it's in Mox's top ten matches in A, W, what enjoy watching it back?
- 6:55[SPEAKER_03]: And I think it's a nice snapshot of that time.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_03]: That's why I wanted to include it because obviously him and Kingston made a great tag team and the other bunch of great matches and obviously they did it for riff off each of us so well.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_03]: And that's why it was just a great snapshot of that tag team they had together.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_03]: Brandon, we've had just these thoughts.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_03]: What did you think of them out this much?
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I'm with Jesse man.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a snapshot in time.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's only five years or less than five years or whatever, but yeah, it's five years, twenty-twent.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm an idiot.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I mean, I love the chemistry that there's two have together, the Kingston and Moxley, and I mean,
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, the Jesse, while you were putting in your mic cord, someone was strangling you.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: Mario Cluesos, but this two were just insane to get all of them together.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, there's more meat to the bone with that story.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if we ever get to it, I hope we do what's good health and stuff like that.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: But it was a different era of A, W, where we weren't
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't have as much of the great talent that they had now, and these stories were isolated, and it's like one story at a time, and people were very focused on them.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: It was a good story telling, and I enjoyed it very much.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_03]: So Jesse, where do you land on the young books?
- 8:24[SPEAKER_03]: Do you like a lot of their shit?
- 8:26[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I sort of remember going back and watching a lot of P.W.G.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_03]: shit and I've sort of like been a fan of the books.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, some of the stuff don't ride with me, but a lot of the stuff from a fan of a level of sort of like cocky heel stuff.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I definitely understand why they're not the cup of tea for a lot of wrestling fans.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_02]: I like them.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think, but they're definitely corny and obnoxious both as heels and kind of just as people at times.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: And they can't be turned off occasionally but generally I'm into what they're doing.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think they found they kind of have like the old Shane Douglas or maybe like Shawn Michaels in the nineties problem of
- 9:12[SPEAKER_02]: being fairly unlikable as characters, I don't really know as people, but as just personalities, they're kind of unlikable, but their work style is extremely baby-faced, and that can be tough to, that's like a tough needle to thread.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that they generally do it, especially with
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: the kind of audience that A.W.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: typically draws is like we can cheer for their flips and their impressive wrestling and then still boot the characters.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_02]: So they didn't get found a real nation A.W.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: for that.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: And generally, I do think their better is heels.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: They've had good moments of BFHs too.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: But in a match like this, where everyone sort of, you know, they wanted to see the couple get together.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: They wanted to see Eddie Kingston and John Mox, like, get together.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: So we know how to save
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: team but the crowd is going to cheer for and be invested in so the books can really do all their options bullshit and then you know interject their amazing wrestling in that and the dynamic still stays strong and it's a good example and like yeah if they're matches against
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: Kenny and Kodopusia, Kodopusia, and then Kenny and Hangman, those are two of my favorite matches of all time.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_02]: They, the one that's Melodrama, and like, who will Kenny choose?
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: And sure, that's not going to be everyone's favorite, but I'm all the way in on that stuff.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_02]: I loved it.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, this is sort of a lesser example of that, but I think in the same vein, with the sort of personal dynamics between the characters at hand.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, definitely thing.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that can't hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang, hang,
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: on Rod.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: If you're measuring teams at the peak against other peaks, then yeah, and that's a valid answer.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: They don't have the history of a young bookstore in FDR, but in terms of that run.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: Like yeah, all those matches were made.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_02]: Hangman is like my favorite wrestler basically.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: And a large lot of it was because of that run.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of my loyalty AEW was because of that run and that's the way I, you know, that really got me.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_02]: And as I say, when Hangman is the main character of A, W tends to go, well, it's just kind of a shame for, you know, John Moxley podcast that maybe we didn't have a more focus on that, throughout the Death Riders storyline.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll get into that later.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_02]: John Moxley has years ahead of himself for this tag match that we just talked about.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_03]: So what do you, Brandon, do you think that Eddie Kingston might make come back at a, uh, uh, or in tomorrow?
- 11:58[SPEAKER_03]: And do you think where do you think he sort of slots into this?
- 12:01[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think he's going to be feuding with Marx?
- 12:04[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think he's going to get himself involved in the main event?
- 12:06[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think, I mean, that I think would, um, I'd be really excited.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_03]: I think we mentioned that on the show with Yara for a while back.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_03]: I'd be really excited if it was Kingston coming into, you know, if Mox did lose the belt and then him and Kingston could have like a program over the summer and I think that would be something to really sort of like, for Mox to get his teeth into because even he doesn't like his so convinced with some of the death drive the stuff they've been doing recently.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Mox that like, Moxley's promo is for like coming to the show have been like, really.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: really good.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: But with your question with the Eddie Kingston, I mean, I don't, I don't want to see this probably going to disappear for a while if you lose it, which is a, I mean, which is fine.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you should after this whole story line in a angle, but I mean, if Kingston comes back, I mean, what?
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: You got blood and guts, right?
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: Coming up?
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you can have like, you have sort of teenage W versus the, the,
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: uh... defriders or whatever whatever you're spending off of off of these uh... guest house and and can use that are going to be hitting the ring to save uh... uh... to the feet defriders and stuff like that i mean you can spend off to something like that i mean uh... if if we get a kingston and uh... moxley for you out of this if he returns up sign me up uh... that with the way they uh...
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: the promos and stuff would be electric.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm all the way in on that.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: be in the company and whatnot, or he's just going to take his ball go for a while and then salt like when he uh, remember when he won the the new Japan title and like he was kind of miserable.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you heard rumors that he wasn't too happy with this with the what his stories and whatnot.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see what happens.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's my that's my concern.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I think no, no, I mean, obviously with sidebar near from what we're initially talking about, but still a lot of moxley, but
- 14:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, a lot of people have speculated what is going to happen to him once he, you know, loses the belt and is there much more from to doing a W obviously, you know, you can go back to the Kenny few, but there are many matches of they had and you can go back to Kingston and stuff.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's only going to keep going for a few more months.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_03]: It's, you know, it's reach trading stuff that he's already done.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, where do you lie on it just in terms of mocks if he does lose the title to Hangman?
- 14:38[SPEAKER_03]: If in case, you know, I can't see him going back to W E, but it seems to make sense in terms of like he's done
- 14:46[SPEAKER_03]: only really can in a w and sort of like a bit of a room going in w e might be sort of like best for him even though I don't think he'd probably think that.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it's contract status or anything so I don't know if it's a little bit more year left after the next year.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, something like that.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_03]: It's not that long is it now.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: I know his wife's contract ends sometime this year.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I heard on the other part.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: Other rustic.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: This is gossip at this book.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead, Jesse, I'm sorry.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, why I grew to you, Martin, and that he has nothing more to accomplish as a performer, as a professional.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_02]: He's done everything.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: He's really, you know, several times he's bailed AEW out and been the guy to carry the company with a pump left for whatever happened.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: He was there.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe he feels that way.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_02]: As a character though, I feel like there's quite a bit more they can do.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: We were talking about, well, if any Kingston came back, what would that look like with WFU'd, but you could say it's saying for Garbie Allen, who I feel like, it kind of has to beat Mox, like for that character.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_02]: So, maybe when Mox, if he is leaving, I feel like that's a class match, because, um, I don't know where that is.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: So, actually, we're going to enter your complex.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, apparently, the things are falling down.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_02]: don't mind.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_02]: I do think that we have to come back and the theme office on point for that character.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_02]: And also, you know, the jump hoax at this coming out of Anity and Arena that this should, like, that should just, that loss should just play some fissures in the Death Riders, right?
- 16:28[SPEAKER_02]: We should see
- 16:30[SPEAKER_02]: consequences of that loss.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: And unfortunately, we haven't.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I agree the deathwriter story has gotten better, but that is a fumble.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like we should see some more internal squabbling.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe if there's a reason we're not, because they have longer-term plans.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: But I definitely feel like, every other reason is for blood and guts.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I will read a loss that brings the internal strife.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_02]: And you fear, like, what, with the fashion, just complete break-up part, would break-up part in other factions.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think that maybe
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for talking about gay kid in the comments and if they can still gay kid from New Japan like that's the guy you have him just murder mocks and then I mean he's all right.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna be there this weekend, so yeah But he's also Vinnie Brick at a king's Vinnie get hurt and Eddie kicks the match or whatever
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I don't know that.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: That would make sense, given with Dickie saying here.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: I also, I don't kind of love to see Wheeler Uta murder box weight and take over the group, but as is it, it's not as this chicken should heal.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: Because everyone hates Uta, right?
- 17:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's the one who's getting all the heat.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, I think that maybe you'd have put in the plastic bag over mocks.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that's where we end up here.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: But I feel like whatever, you know, the man wants, or whatever, as a performer, you can decide what he wants, but as a character, I think there's a lot more that he can do with John Mobsley.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_02]: I just think that probably is a champion.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_02]: We don't need him as a world champion anymore, that's all.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_02]: There's somebody who can't do this in any W. Yeah.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_03]: That would be hilarious if we'd leave you as the one too.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_03]: But Mark's from the deaf writers.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because you would also assume that Diane Bryan Danielson is going to come out at the end point.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_03]: He just seems to be talking about doing karaoke with a lot of space.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_03]: We just seem to be happy just though or appearing.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_03]: We see it that AAA show.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_03]: Same old show as well.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: So you think like
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: It's a story line wise.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_03]: It'd be definitely all about Max, but God knows what Brian Danielson's up to, but that makes perfect sense for him to come back and, you know, choke Max out.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_03]: He could use Justin Roberts's tie while he was doing it, as well as coming in that'd be a nice, nice highlight.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_03]: Last thing about the books in King of Moxmatch, I did notice, Kingston and Moxley had a fantastic entrance full of energy, I'm going crazy, then I did notice Moxley was throwing some chairs around randomly, and I was like, hmm, so this lawsuit that we've had recently, I was throwing people around backstage, you know, it could have opened a lot sooner that they actually did, so perhaps in Easter, we careful about
- 19:13[SPEAKER_03]: what he's throwing around when he's a when he's all hyped up for an entrance or whatever but I die dress because moving on to our second match and we've already talked about this man in the fair bit already it's a hangman Adam Page against moxley the the match from revolution in twenty twenty three from the on the marks the fifth from the chase center in San Francisco
- 19:34[SPEAKER_03]: This was the first text us death match between the two of them and then a bit of background before this one and we go way back to September, when it's twenty-two and Hangman I'd want to battle royale to become the new number and content this for the AWS title and it then faced moxing up to over but a mox close line gave him an actual legitimate concussion forcing the match to be stopped and then
- 19:57[SPEAKER_03]: Three months later Adam Page came back one in his revenge on Moxley and do you guys remember that Lance Stone found this very confusing at the time?
- 20:05[SPEAKER_03]: It was a big news story of the time that Page had come back after all these months away and one in revenge on Moxley and everyone was like, yeah, because he gave him a concussion.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_03]: I remember Lance Stone was on the, like, Ressen observed radio or something and he was just confused why Moxley and Hangman were getting into it and I was like,
- 20:22[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I'm fairly sure if someone gave you a concussion, you know, you know, knocked you, you bel, with a, with a Larry, or whatever, you know, you'd be wanting revenge against them.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_03]: I just remember, I'll always remember it because it was a question in one of their big factories of the year that, um, who, what was Lance Thumb, so confused about him, no one else was.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't the one that I legitimately want, right?
- 20:45[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, no.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think you legitimately didn't really want any of this video.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, so yeah, everyone looks like a hangman's back.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_03]: Once revenge on Moxley, no title this time because Moxley's lost the title.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_03]: They're too great, much on Dain-Might, and this led up to the third match here at Revolution, Texas Death Match Rules, which I think very slightly in AWS, you know, you can only win by chaos.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_03]: So missionaries, I thought, you know, going back to the classic ones with Kector's Jack and Vader, and obviously going back to, you know, I'm sure Terry Funkham ones in the eighties.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure it was like, you know, just a ten count and realize a submissive was involved obviously in AWS.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_03]: You can submit them as well for some wrong there.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think traditionally it was you had to pin the opponent and then they do a ten count, which honestly was a terrible idea like that Vator kind of Jack Mash.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: Is that the one where Harley race stuns him in the back of the knee with the
- 21:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the classic Halloween, have it main event.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_03]: And I remember seeing that, I think I'd got it off tape trader or whatever, and I was like, oh my god, this is the most violent disgusting material I've ever seen.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_03]: And now, obviously, some of the stuff I watched into tonight makes it look like fucking Disney film on it.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_03]: So, yeah, it's interesting.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: It never happened to me.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: It was staggering.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like a man drunk in the ring.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: What a, what a, what a, what a beast of a worker, that Terry thought.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: It was.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_03]: he was a hot take there from Brandon there.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_03]: So anyway, yeah, there are different rules for this AWS Texas death match.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_03]: So uh, Mox makes these usual entrance through the crowd and page jumps in and they're rolling all over the crowd with the ref calling the bell, even though they're still outside the ring and you know, we're into uh, dangerous territory and uh, page throws Mox into the barricade and they eventually make it into the ring and
- 22:41[SPEAKER_03]: Mox gets some barbed wire and we're only sort of like three minutes into the matchbook page, grabs it and scrapes it along Mox has had, I mean, this looks absolutely disgusting already, and Mox has bleeding everywhere already, but Mox returns a favor with the old abdoller, the butcher forks, and the head, and they're both bleeding everywhere.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's disgusting, Mox gets this block, and he's proper, giant, and he all over Mox's, of Hangman's foreignness.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_03]: this disgusting and they both use barbed wire both wrapping it around the forearms wrapping around boots to inflict the more punishment on each other.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_03]: Mox gets out of barbed wire chair and throws page into it and then stops on a half cover and runs pages chest all over the wire as pages.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_03]: Winston around in agony and there's a fantastic shot here of a woman in the crowd looking absolutely horrified I mean she obviously most have gone with a friend or a boyfriend or something and was like oh my god what is this disgusting filthy make him who wants you a brilliant shot there it's a I mean the cameraman don't always get the great shots for that one was a really good one
- 23:49[SPEAKER_03]: Mox sets up two chairs, we barbed by about page blocks him and power bombs him onto them instead and they kept showing the replay of this and the way the chairs were ourselves together in a Mox narrowly missed.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, if I do back and have gotten in between the chairs, I mean, you could have had a nasty injury there, but luckily he landed on the seat part of the chair.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_03]: Mox then gets two bricks out.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_03]: which something I've never seen in the morning either we before and he gets this massive chain out.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_03]: We've seen this in it as much as we can.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_03]: He loves this big chains that he gets out.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_03]: He puts the bricks on pages hands and then stumps on them and then he pile drives page onto a chair and goes through another before page rallies with a second in looking close line.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_03]: I mean there's so much going on this match.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_03]: Boxing goes through a bar by a board at ringside
- 24:39[SPEAKER_03]: page then gets sent to another barbed wire board that's on the other side of the ring.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_03]: They both get tied up in the chain, hammer each other with the chain gets a lot of use in this match.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_03]: Coming into the finish now in a book shot Larry is reversed into a Death Rider that looks fantastic and then mocks.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_03]: curved stomps page is head onto the break, which looks fantastic in the crowd start, so like singing thecessorolian theme song as they want them to do when there.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_03]: Then Mox gets a choke on page, where he gets up and gives him up to choke of his own.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_03]: He then follows it up and finally hits the book shut Larry and then hangs Mox over the side of the ropes, choking him with the chain for the winning.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, wild match this one.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_03]: I remember this one was one of my top matches from twenty twenty three and still enjoyed watching it back.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I know some folks don't really like all the plunder plunder plunder plunder plunder, but I really enjoyed it.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_03]: Really brutal.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely bloodbath.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_03]: I don't watch much sort of like Japanese death match wrestling.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_03]: I watch a bit of American stuff.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_03]: I've never seen.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen breeze blocks we used in matches, but never breaks.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_03]: But I had a good time going back on watching this one.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_03]: What did you learn about it on the brand?
- 25:49[SPEAKER_03]: And I know you'll be a bit of a death match to Cody.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_03]: Do you enjoy this one?
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: The way do I map this match out with all the absolute chaos?
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like I want to I want to to hang man in a
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: a death match in Atlantic city for for dynamite with uh... land's archer incredible match like life like i love it was chaos there but this this the way they map this out is this like pure peatalistic pain and suffering and it it's just like i love stuff like that like
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: You'd never know what weapon you're bringing out and like it comes down the skill and what I love.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: There's the nominal.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_01]: There's just the chemistry that these two may have and like the way the movement and the matches though.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's top not.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's like one of my favorite matches like I'm with you like in AWS.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_03]: I think it really justified it as well obviously because they had the two matches on Dynamite and it was like this so it built up it was in the cumulation it wasn't just death match for the sake of death matches I mean we had a marathon a while back and he was saying you know he's not the biggest fun of death matches but when it's justified like here I feel like you know it's definitely worth it
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: But it's definitely done right.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like some of the best matches in wrestling.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you can't don't go overkill, you know, whatnot.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: But like if done the way these guys do it, like it's phenomenal.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: And what's the cameraman and Simey Snooka, by the way?
- 27:22[SPEAKER_03]: What?
- 27:24[SPEAKER_03]: Explain yourself.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: Simey Snooka, remember the other Jacob?
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's so funny.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: I go.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_03]: Where do you learn on this match?
- 27:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, you will find death matches in general.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I'll just ignore that from running.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_03]: Do you find a fan of death matches in general and where do you learn on this one?
- 27:48[SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm not.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_02]: I never watch death match promotions or whatever.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_02]: Various hardcore matches.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm into it.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_02]: If it was a reason for it, like when I was a teenager, whatever, yes, it's just fun to watch if you'll go through tables.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_02]: I understand your appeal there, and I love Nick Foley, and the stuff she would do, that's why it drew me into this.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: But now, I want something to justify the violence.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_02]: something like the fork looks incredibly painful and you can see like normally when mocks does it right you you hold it such that you're basically just hitting someone at the bottom of your hand but when he gets juice on hangman like he's actually digging it in there to start with and that's going to be incredibly painful
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: But it's not going to, it's not going to jeopardize a man's life or his long-term health.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: And the only thing to think about it, and if someone does that to your forehead, your first impulse would be go, ah, my forehead.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: But for us as a wrestler, Hangman wouldn't want to do that, because you don't want to wipe away the blood.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_02]: That's the whole point.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: So nice as in this jam, you know, forehead and your head, you can't even sit there and take it.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: What a crazy fucked up job these guys have.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: But I love watching it.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: The, and everything leading up to it was like, just a great example of making lemons at a lemonade, right?
- 29:08[SPEAKER_02]: He, he would generally not doubt, or I guess you could argue, hang my mouth and chill though, by doing the flip, but it's a legitimate, you know, concussion, that can be very scary, but just like, you know, stand hands in a Bruno, whatever, if you don't, if you can come back great, it doesn't make it an angle.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I just remember Mox,
- 29:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like at some point, it would have been like before with the other matches where he's, you know, doing his normal thing in a hallways, giving it the camera.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just like, what do you want me to do?
- 29:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was trying to take your head off.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_02]: That's the whole point of this.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's so wrestling.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was trying to hurt you.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_02]: Why do you want me to cry for you?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that was, that was great.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's why Hangman should have won this match for the feud.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I just love the ending because he hangs him over the rope, a lot of repo man in British Bulldog.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_02]: as everyone remembers.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: I assume that was the thing.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my gosh, do it.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, you're soon that, okay, mom is going to go out.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_02]: Protect the mom.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_02]: Protect the mom.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: But instead, John Massey does probably anywhere, he takes a second, he's like, OK, how can I get out of this?
- 30:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I can't.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'll get tabbed out so I don't die, which is probably what I need over do.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: And it's still shocking just from like knowing about progress that you figure protect the character and make them pass out.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: But instead, Massey taps out.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: And it's because he knows he's being in sort of like a combination of MMA.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_02]: If you know the guy's got you, the guy's got you.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_02]: But also he hanged by a chain over the top rope.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it was just the match delivered on everything I could have.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_02]: And it kind of makes you stare for what they're going to do tomorrow to top it.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, loved it.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe maybe even my favorite mocks singles match.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: Probably my favorite mocks singles match.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_03]: Wow, that's a little recommendation.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, I mean, that's a big question.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_03]: Now, and it, why are they going to do tomorrow?
- 30:59[SPEAKER_03]: Are they going to be, are they going to go full on CZW sick?
- 31:03[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, get the breeze blocks out and things like that, is it?
- 31:07[SPEAKER_03]: Are we going to see light tubes?
- 31:08[SPEAKER_03]: Or, you know, I mean, there could be anything up in this tomorrow.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to hit up that, they're going to hit up that bill as a, in William's cell, straight from CZW, the episode two, Eagle's on and flies.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: Remember that?
- 31:20[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, the hardware store, yeah, they got all the stuff in Delaware, yeah.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna find like a bunch of bulk footage of that store, like they're gonna put that Costco card guy to use.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they don't think there's some kind of discount with the Costco guys, right?
- 31:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're gonna put that big fat bell in the use by borrowing his black card at the Costco store and buying some light tubes and a cutlery footage of that store.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_03]: Well, yeah, you can imagine the budget they add for them sees a diarrhea matches.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_03]: And imagine what the budget they can go to Tony Khan.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, oh, this is going to be the main event of the show mate.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_03]: We need like, you know, under Gransworth's stuff.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to, we're going to go to give some live mortar shells or something like that.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_01]: I also hope you guys face the fence budget for this match.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you can't get that stuff there, right?
- 32:15[SPEAKER_03]: You know, yeah, by the very true, yeah.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm going to look a rogue farm in the middle of Midland, Texas and get some arsenal from for his death match.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_03]: The way every hangman's probably gonna do something probably not in the arena, but on the outside he's gonna do he's probably gonna make some kind of entrance on the horse isn't he would have thought with him being attacked.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean, as we discovered earlier, once you go live, you know, anything can happen, can happen.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, I mean, I think it happened in the world, roughly better.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_02]: So, in this match, we just reviewed, hey man, comes out to Ghost Riders in the sky by the, the Elos, right?
- 32:56[SPEAKER_02]: He changes it on.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: Tomorrow, does Hangman go back to his old theme?
- 33:02[SPEAKER_02]: Is it any face thing?
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: Does he stick with the, the new thing, which you started as a heal?
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: Or do we hear something special?
- 33:08[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think?
- 33:09[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I don't know.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_03]: So hang on from Virginia and it was some thing as soon as from Virginia really could push it to itself.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, then who clips out on the spot or the first one?
- 33:22[SPEAKER_03]: I'm pretty deep.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the guy who did, um, Paulocan.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they got it.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_03]: Look at him.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_03]: I was themed to him.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_03]: That's literally literally the only reason I know him.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_03]: So while there's loads, fellow Williams, they browse from there, they might have died in, yeah, Tim Belinda, they're all from there, they're all from Virginia, Bruce Holmes, they are, yeah.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: Missie Elliott?
- 33:52[SPEAKER_03]: Could get Dave Matthews, yeah, he's got that one good song on me.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: Dave, that is good for crash.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_03]: Give Morrison could have some doors, yeah.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_03]: Don't you, um, put on your stuff you could have.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_02]: I just, you know, Jim Morrison's from LA, just because you're born Virginia.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_02]: He's like the most LA guy ever.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: You can extract your body from France and bring them for the hardcore match, right?
- 34:14[SPEAKER_01]: The death match.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was brave, you know?
- 34:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: I was.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think you'd make a good weapon into death match?
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: This is what we need to see.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: We need to see.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, man, hit properly with a tombstone of Jim Morrison.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_02]: That's going to make sense at this point.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that would rock so hard.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: It would be so, it would be so beast if they have.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, love of God.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_03]: I've got some connection to Virginia.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_03]: There you go.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_03]: Redneck, there'll be perfect one for, for that much in Hangman.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I got one.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you could do a bit of a wrap for him.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, yeah, back to what the theme is actually going to use.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he's going to be, you know, resurrecting the cops of Jim Morrison and coming out through a woman or anything.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: But, um, I mean, we have the ECW zombies, so why not get this?
- 35:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: But when the ECW zombie was came to death by the same, okay, continue more.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_03]: I do not remember that now.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_03]: I only remember the sci-fi demon thing.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_03]: That was a thing for a while because the ECW is on sci-fi.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, yeah, I know what he likes.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_03]: Hang months in the same.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_03]: Do they?
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I kind of like it.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm used to it.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's a thing.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_03]: It has to be different.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's a new warmth.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's grown on me.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, the old themes are better.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, this new one's kind of, you know, it's grown on me.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: It was good for him as a heal.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'd like to hear him change it back.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think that would get a good pop tomorrow.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, if he's going to get him, he's going to get a monster or they shouldn't anyway, but if that, with the horse riding along the thing, that place is going to absolutely explode.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I mean, if they want the biggest reaction, Hangman's going to get over, they're going to have him outside.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_03]: going down whatever the road is outside this stadium in Arlington, Texas.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_03]: Going down there, maybe it was a bit player for the Texas Rangers, getting to Robby's bot on him as he makes his entry into the building, or Alex Rodriguez.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_03]: That's a bit of a bit of a wack in it.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_03]: Are you wrong?
- 36:17[SPEAKER_03]: Do you have any really tied for ten years?
- 36:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, get all the bells and whistles, and then back in.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_03]: Why aren't you in the places going away?
- 36:25[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god I can't believe that's that you're off now running this name in fucking M.O.V.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_03]: players.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: Who's that guy that you're just about to stick onto a fight with?
- 36:42[SPEAKER_02]: Oh the guy from the white socks.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: Who was with the ranges at the time?
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: Oh no, okay, okay.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: I thought you were talking about a little cleaning in Guardians guy that knocked the guy from the white socks out.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: Oh god.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_02]: I forgot.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_02]: Blue Jays and Texas Rangers have like a rivalry ten years ago, and... Oh, door.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, oh door.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, oh door.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, he won't come out with the curse of Jim Morse.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_03]: Why was Joey bats a bit of a scrapper?
- 37:13[SPEAKER_03]: He got into a lot of fights.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think no, they're just well, maybe.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like brands talking about this white socks guy, but as far as I know it's just the blue jays and the rangers they didn't like each other.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_03]: I'd arrive all the way that one.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, yeah, that definitely goes down.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_03]: In at least that's a top ten top five, maybe even either we much just for me.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, great watching that one back.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_03]: And we come to our final match of the selection box and what's the same?
- 37:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know the end of that thing in this country, but look at this.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_03]: So we get, we're saying the same year, twenty twenty three, but we're all out on the third step, Tom Rinch cargo Illinois.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, uh, this is around the time when AWS pretty much run that town to death.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_03]: And they've got to make it.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_03]: We're pretty much running for a few more.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: It was like he had a season pass.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_03]: but so this was the show that was one week after yeah yeah yeah yeah because that was the whole thing at the time wasn't it it was like what you've got to show after your biggest show ever and you haven't done that great of a build up for the Wembley show you know you can do just taking the brick funds to grant and just going out we'll just give them whatever and sort of thing but
- 38:52[SPEAKER_03]: They did pull it around with this main event.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_03]: We were like, are they going to promote a big show coming one week after the biggest show?
- 38:58[SPEAKER_03]: They've ever done, but they did pull it around with this main event.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_03]: I remember everyone at the time saying like, oh yeah, this main event.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they have a background for that.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, the match is for Cassidy's International title.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_03]: And Cassidy had had a long, long run with this title.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_03]: It'd be packed for it all the way back in October, when it was still called the All-Atlantic title.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_03]: Remember that?
- 39:19[SPEAKER_03]: The All-Atlantic title and they had got
- 39:23[SPEAKER_03]: flags on it that weren't even they allowed to go.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: They had the South China Sea flag.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_03]: I think I saw Pax first defense of that.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_03]: You defended it on a red pro show like ten minutes away from this house and it's like this really tiny venue on red pro do about.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_03]: One fifty at most there in the proper rampax it because Pax was there obviously in the main event and they showed it on a AWTV with red pro is a questionable production.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_03]: So at least he at least he had a lens cost for that one.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_03]: There were no fingerprints on the lens.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_03]: So we're
- 40:01[SPEAKER_03]: It was quite funny seeing that show on a W TV.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_03]: The guy who edits a W was like, what do you expect me to do with this?
- 40:09[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, the show did anyway.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_03]: First time, Cassidy's been main event for an AWS paper, so pretty good.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_03]: And they did a great job, didn't they?
- 40:21[SPEAKER_03]: With Cassidy with that international title, you know, you took on all challenges leading up to this event, you know, been feuding with the Blackpool comeback club, and after being with me, we really, you are, he said, I want Mark's next after, after all in.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_03]: So, yeah, first time it made an AWP review, it started around.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_03]: And I feel like he really deserved it.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_03]: I don't feel like the fans got behind him and he can speak, especially in this match that you know, Cassidy.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_03]: Did they take an even from the sort of guy that everyone laughs at doing their hands in the pockets and people start taking him a bit more seriously, I think, Brandon, we'd no up to this event.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, his rise in this company is
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: is incredible from like the joke the joke.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, I don't want to insult the man.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's more than a joke wrestler.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he performs super well and stuff like that.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, he went from the guy, like you said, with the hands in the pocket to like putting on these like awesome TV matches, defending the belt, like what, which, like, I mean, the guy can afford a loss anytime right now, like, and he's still be like,
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: King of the Mid-Card and his position in the company would be sound and stuff like that.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: His art to get to this point was, I guess he hasn't sort of seen him.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really see him to me personally.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see him as a main manager, but top of the Mid-Card type of guy that's going to give an awesome performance.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's Orange Cassidy.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_01]: And you get the pen on him in a pinch.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_01]: If someone gets hurt, you just plug and play him anywhere in the card.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: the four and a half, I started match.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: He definitely puts his work in shoes on when he's out on on in the ring.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the same time a few guys like that.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_03]: They're like, you know, you know, you don't matter if they lose, you know, like, I'm not brisk out on people like that.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_03]: And it seems to the Tesla and they lose, and then you can heat them up again and put them in another match.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I won't say it was really good.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we all thought jungle would be that guy, but like, hey, he did not, but I digress.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, everyone, you're just young, but I think you're the only person, but anyway.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_03]: I think because we all seen Orange Cassidy, I was mainly weak, and that way, you know, we played on like ten shows or whatever, and then when he was in AWS, I always just kind of going to work, and I did think he's one of the success stories of AWS, you know, the way they sort of like building up with this.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_03]: Into the match and mocks is on top, right at the beginning, we punch his soup, flex his stumps.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_03]: Cassidy just got a bit of a reprieve with a stung mullion and a dive to the floor, but mocks is quickly back on top again.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_03]: On the outside he throws orange into the ring post and Cassidy's the first one bleed near, which makes
- 43:06[SPEAKER_03]: an interesting change because normally in a moxley match easily it is the first one bleeding but now it was a orange caster day about three minutes into this match if you actually watch it back is elbow hits the ring person nice head but yeah that's just been a bit
- 43:21[SPEAKER_03]: of it, pedantic.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_03]: Mox, that's punching and biting the cart, making even worse.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_03]: Inputses, hands in these pockets, mocking Cassidy is on the floor bleeding everywhere.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_03]: Orange finally gets the upper hand and starts biting Moxley back and breaking his back.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_03]: Here's a DDT off the top row, but blocks the beach brake, but Cassidy straight back with a PK and an orange puncture.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_03]: much is back up with a got style pile driver for two and it marks try some chokes but Cassidy fights out and they're back on the outside now.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_03]: Mark starts pulling all the ring mats back exposing the floor but Cassidy hits a beach break onto the concrete followed by a drop kick into the steps.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_03]: I mean that beach break onto the onto the concrete floor look pretty sickening.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_03]: Mox is almost counted out, but gets back in and takes more range punches.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_03]: Mox is down, and Cassidy does the hands in the pockets and starts off with a weak kick, which gradually makes them stronger.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_03]: And faster in the crowd is really behind Cassidy at this point.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_03]: Mox Valley is a super stiff area.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_03]: It then hits the Death Rider for two and the Crowder even more behind Cassidy going crazy for him.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_03]: Cassidy is a bloody mess.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_03]: He's like literally the camera zooms into him and he's got a little blood dripping from his face and the whole canvas has covered in his blood at this point.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_03]: Orange gives orange
- 44:45[SPEAKER_03]: so like barely gets up and it gives mocks the two fingers to loot mocks sort of like there's a little sort of like thing in the corner and then finishes him off with a high angle death rider for the one two three and the win.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_03]: I mean this was another great match and as it's got to remember from the time a real great example of making your opponent look good in defeat.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I already took everything mocks through him and it adds to
- 45:09[SPEAKER_03]: you know, it couldn't even just do a straight up death right there to be like the high-angle one after you've been beaten him down or match and uh... took everything they were but it just was too much room then it was great coming from like you know coming is the underdog and obviously orange caster they you know
- 45:25[SPEAKER_03]: nothing against them in the last year and you really, really looked great in defeat here.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, really enjoyed watching this one back.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, obviously, plans went a bit around when Moxel the title of seventeen days after he suffered that concussion didn't, you know, against Phoenix and that's throw the title back.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_03]: So Phoenix and then I think Cassidy, when it off Phoenix, so all the plans went a bit around after this.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, really good match and orange Cassidy was great in this one, Jesse.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_02]: Excellent match.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: Watching him back, I was surprised that the his reign was actually less than a year because I remember being so long.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I think part of that is the whole storyline with Orange Cassie was he's not just championed for a long time.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_02]: He defends it like every week.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_02]: And so every week he'd come with more can he see a table on him.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_02]: And he knows you're like, this guy is almost dead.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to die eventually.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: He can't keep this up.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_02]: And going as a boss is, he's got a perfect character for that.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: This just relentless, a bigger guy too, which, like, again, that's been one of the better things about having a law for this not full of, like, six-foot-seven dudes, like, shameless, and Drew McIntyre, whatever.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you can get a sense of, like, how big, like, if Orange Castle had a normalized person, you know, John Mox is quite big.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_02]: And he can play the big main bully.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think he's like a baby face here.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_02]: I guess he's pretty good at going back and forth.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_02]: Like obviously the crowd you heard a favorite was, but I don't think the mox character was a bad guy.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I think he was just a great dynamic there.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_03]: It's a bit of a tween.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't a with the platform comeback club.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_03]: He was like him between one and yeah.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the problem is like no one ever really wanted to brew Brian Danielson.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: So they could never be like a fully he-ho faction.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I'm very good match.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_02]: I really liked it.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's interesting.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_02]: Well, first off, I would just say personally, I think it would have been great if it ended after that third big Larry it.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_02]: Because he had some of these, he has Larry it, death writer, Cassie could sell.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_02]: And then he had some of this huge fucking Larry it.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_02]: And another running one.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_02]: And then he picks up into the third.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_02]: I just love it.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_02]: And Japan stuff where they end mad as we're just like, you just fucking call up like Stan Hansen, call up a big computer.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_02]: I love that stuff.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know where her Cassie gives you anything different, right?
- 47:47[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, that's a quibble.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_02]: But my takeaway of these three matches, I think it's initially one to end this podcast series on John Moxie.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: Because I think all three of these matches are more important,
- 47:59[SPEAKER_02]: The first match with you, it was important to establish the new heel, young buck's character.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_02]: The second one was important for a hangman to sort of start rebuilding himself after the concussion, but also in this, you know, we are not around using FFN loss of title.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_02]: And he would really get there until he turned heel in the sword program anyway, but I think it was more important for him than moxley.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_02]: And this I think was, again, we don't know what would have happened if moxley didn't have to give the title because of the injury against Phoenix.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with Brandon, I don't see the orange casting characters as a world champion.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_02]: So I feel this is probably the zenith of that character.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: This match was sort of like the Apagee of Orange Cassidy.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_02]: And it's kind of funny to end the series based on John Moffley and we three matches that are really a more important for the other.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_02]: But maybe that tells us something about John Moffley.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he's someone who allows other characters to shine.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: And a lot is a great foil for other characters.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_02]: And he can adapt as a trainer would adapt his character to really put the focus on his opponent, whether he wins or loses.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_02]: It maybe has to go credit to John Moffley's a performer.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_03]: That's a fantastic point, yeah.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, not really, so like, obviously the last match with Cassidy definitely, that really shines through.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but I'd not really consider it in terms of their match against the books and how I'm running.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but you're completely right.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so just show a bit of a different side of his character, because obviously he does get sometimes slay now, I never lose his and you know, is a bit selfish and stuff like that.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, this just so, you know, definitely in the side of him, random what we also, it's on this final match of the selection box.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was action-packed and fun.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's typical of Orange Cassidy and John Mozzley, Mozzley being a giver, and just another guy here had great chemistry with what not.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_01]: When you see it in the ring, I want two people who have great chemistry.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to get an excellent match.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_01]: They certainly delivered.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: Was it?
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I thought at one point during this, during this Cassidy run that he was just going to completely come in, mummified, like, you know, we had a sarcophagus, how banged up this dude was, like, a challenge.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_01]: What is his run as a champion?
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it was, it was a fun, fun selection by you, Mark.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_03]: No, thank you, Brandon.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's funny.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, when you see him with all the tape on and stuff like that, because he comes out in the jeans like he's not bothered or whatever, and then it's like, oh, all the tape on as well, yes.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's definitely banged up going into this.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_03]: My friend, I imagine definitely banged up going out of it, because I mean, that was an absolutely gosh of the he was.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_03]: He was just like dripping blood everywhere for like the majority of them, especially when they got that great camera shot of him and it would just like dripping out of his head.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, great, great match.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_03]: And they did another one as well.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_03]: Didn't they like, was it twenty twenty four and that was, it was good as this one, but yeah, and they've definitely got a pound in the future.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, boxes had a, until I really, really good rivalries in a W obviously there's a Kenny one we've talked about, you know,
- 51:15[SPEAKER_03]: over two episodes.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_03]: And then, obviously, this one against Hangman, I'd love to go back and sort of like look back at the match of the Undyne Mike.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_03]: So remember that series, the ad was great.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_03]: And then leaning back into it with the match of having this weekend.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_03]: And then yeah, I'll reach Cassidy.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, Max has had a lot of really good sort of rival reason in AWS.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_03]: So it was good going back and looking at sort of like bits of the Hangman and the orange Cassidy one.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_03]: So, um,
- 51:42[SPEAKER_03]: Before we sort of like wrap this thing up, any final thoughts?
- 51:45[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm running on there.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_03]: I'm the three matches we talked about today.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_01]: I thought we went out with a bank with these three selections, man.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_01]: It goes to show you as a builder of, I mean, your podcast experience and girth does no bounds.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: The way, the way it's like a DJ pick in a
- 52:10[SPEAKER_01]: just going with the flow with the crowd and like, like, he picks the right songs and then all of a sudden, he, uh, YMCA comes on, uh, you're like that when it comes to his match selection.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_03]: I definitely won't be picking YMCA.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_03]: I want Donald Trump to tell you.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_01]: All right, I like, like, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: Candy man, candy man.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_01]: But these are just incredible selections.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is not a farewell to me.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm never best.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: But the job by you, Brad.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_03]: Before we get there, before we get here, farewells.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_03]: I've just seen any last thoughts on these three matches we have to do.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_03]: You're doing the outro of the show before we finish the show, yeah.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_03]: Any final thoughts on these three matches that we talked about?
- 53:13[SPEAKER_03]: Just jump moxley as a whole, any more points you want us to get across?
- 53:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think Brandon's at a best, you know?
- 53:21[SPEAKER_02]: All I can do is admire your girth as a DJ.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine said, what he said.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_02]: There's really nothing I can do to add or make it better.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for that, my guess.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_02]: See you later.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_02]: Hey.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yo, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_01]: of the devil's man.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: I wish he was here man.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: He would fire off like his New Jersey devil's takes, but he's not here.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_02]: He's, uh, he's a big, he's a big, he's a big John Javar's friend.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_02]: He's happy that the Leafs resign.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen the right now man.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_01]: What a, what a, what a, what a, what a mark.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, New York Giants.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_02]: What is, what is that?
- 54:09[SPEAKER_02]: You're not from New York City, you're from Rome.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it's like, yeah, I think one piece you're having was very good.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_02]: I do it again.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_03]: As we all know, the New York Giants playing New Jersey.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_03]: So, I'll uh, yeah.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_03]: Right, before we get into their travel, I'll sort of show.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_03]: You got me with that one, Jesse, well done mate.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_03]: You know, before we get out of here,
- 54:44[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, just just keep an eye out for my new podcast series with Brandon covering the career of Barry D'Arso.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'll be good.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, just just wait for that.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm imagining notice weekend to Texas, I'm not sure.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going there.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_02]: I don't believe you.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't believe you.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to go to Texas either.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_01]: Let's climb it.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_03]: There you go, you got one fan Joe said he fucking loves, he fucking loves very data, so there you go.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go!
