- 0:09Speaker 1: A welcome to the Naughty but Nice Shower. How strong shooter.
- 0:18Speaker 1: It's Friday. We made it through the week. We did it.
- 0:22Speaker 1: We did it together. Hey, every Friday. Our dear friend
- 0:25Speaker 1: Corey Andrew from Instinct Magazine dot com joints us, Hey,
- 0:29Speaker 1: Gry are you there? I am here with bells on bells.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I love when you say that. I can hear them
- 0:37Speaker 1: jingling jangling as we speak. I love it. I love it.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I love it. Hey, let's jump in the show. We've
- 0:42Speaker 1: got tons of gossip to get to today. What time
- 0:45Speaker 1: is it, my friends? It is hey, and thank you
- 0:49Speaker 1: all for the lovely messages. So I did Elvis to
- 0:51Speaker 1: rancher Corey, I think on Tuesday to talk about Will
- 0:54Speaker 1: Smith and the Oscar, and Elvis plugged the podcast like
- 0:57Speaker 1: a lunatic, almost of the point, as a little bit
- 0:59Speaker 1: embarras us. He was so great. So he had a
- 1:03Speaker 1: lot of new people come and join us and they stayed.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I know, so welcome, welcome, welcome, we have some new
- 1:09Speaker 1: naughty the show. Big story. Will Smith's friends not Will Smith.
- 1:16Speaker 1: His friends are claiming that the Academy lied by saying
- 1:20Speaker 1: that they asked him to leave. So yesterday the Academy
- 1:24Speaker 1: put out an official statement. It wasn't a source, It
- 1:27Speaker 1: wasn't a friend, is what we call in the business.
- 1:29Speaker 1: On the record. So they put out a statement saying
- 1:32Speaker 1: they asked him to leave after he slapped Chris Rock
- 1:37Speaker 1: and he refused Will. Now, sources friends of Chris ran
- 1:41Speaker 1: straight to TMZ. Of course they did, of course, and
- 1:43Speaker 1: they said that did not happen at all. In fact,
- 1:46Speaker 1: they claimed that is an outright liar. Not only was
- 1:50Speaker 1: Will not asked to leave the ceremony, he was asked
- 1:55Speaker 1: by one of the executives, one of the producers, to stay.
- 2:00Speaker 1: So sources with direct knowledge is what TMC claimed who
- 2:03Speaker 1: were present at the show. Sounds like a publicist to me,
- 2:07Speaker 1: but they allege that the producer told Will that he
- 2:12Speaker 1: could stay. Now, the day before, the Academy put out
- 2:15Speaker 1: a statement on the record. Once again, let's make sure
- 2:17Speaker 1: we understand the difference here. One is on the record,
- 2:20Speaker 1: which means somebody is saying it. Another is a source,
- 2:23Speaker 1: which means somebody is saying it, but they're not attaching
- 2:26Speaker 1: their name to it. Way into that what you want.
- 2:29Speaker 1: So yesterday, on the record statement was put out by
- 2:33Speaker 1: the Academy saying they asked him to leave, he wouldn't.
- 2:37Speaker 1: They also wanted to clarify that they felt they could
- 2:40Speaker 1: have handled the situation better. Corey, my head's exploding. Where
- 2:45Speaker 1: are you? I know? With all this? Oh well, you
- 2:49Speaker 1: may have seen my Facebook Over the past couple of days,
- 2:51Speaker 1: I have been incensed at this whole thing. However, I
- 2:53Speaker 1: will tell you that I felt like the Academy really
- 2:55Speaker 1: had a lied about this too, because it took them
- 2:58Speaker 1: quite a few days to even come up with this,
- 3:01Speaker 1: and it seemed really really out of the blue, because
- 3:03Speaker 1: they would have offered that the like the instant this happened,
- 3:06Speaker 1: they would have offered that, and they didn't, like two
- 3:09Speaker 1: days later. So I think they're lying to say, you
- 3:12Speaker 1: know what, I think they I think they went to
- 3:13Speaker 1: him and said, hey, you might want to leave and
- 3:14Speaker 1: cool off, and he goes, now, I'm good. So they're
- 3:17Speaker 1: using that as like they asked him to leave, not
- 3:20Speaker 1: the same thing. I think you might be right on
- 3:23Speaker 1: this one. There's always some truth to it. Mind Side
- 3:26Speaker 1: isn't telling me, Yes, mind Side is a telling me
- 3:30Speaker 1: that the producers had an emergency immediate meeting backstage on
- 3:35Speaker 1: the side of the stage with his people who were
- 3:37Speaker 1: backstage and they were like, what are we going to do?
- 3:39Speaker 1: He should leave, he shouldn't stay. What do you think?
- 3:42Speaker 1: And some some people were like, he's got to go.
- 3:44Speaker 1: The people were like, no, no, he should stay. He
- 3:47Speaker 1: could win. And so I think backstage there was never
- 3:50Speaker 1: a consensus. Maybe one of the top people at the
- 3:54Speaker 1: at the Academy felt he should go and they thought
- 3:57Speaker 1: that was an official request. But off, in these big organizations,
- 4:01Speaker 1: they have two, three, maybe even more people on the
- 4:03Speaker 1: board who have to sign off on this together. We've
- 4:06Speaker 1: all worked at companies where you need tend people to
- 4:08Speaker 1: sign off on what to have for lunch. Can you
- 4:12Speaker 1: imagine getting tend people to sign off in the moment
- 4:15Speaker 1: on this. So I think some people that work at
- 4:18Speaker 1: the Academy feel as if they asked him to leave.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I don't think they' lying. I think there's some people
- 4:23Speaker 1: feel that other people are not quite so sure. Also,
- 4:25Speaker 1: let's point out the difference between the actual academy and
- 4:29Speaker 1: the producer. So Will's friends are claiming that the producer
- 4:35Speaker 1: told them to stay. Both could be truthful. The producer
- 4:39Speaker 1: could say stay, he's hired by the Academy to produce
- 4:42Speaker 1: the show. The academy could be like, we want him
- 4:45Speaker 1: out of here. And so I think there's, as you said,
- 4:48Speaker 1: some half trips but half lies and somewhere in this mix.
- 4:53Speaker 1: And we all know when there's a big drama going
- 4:56Speaker 1: on just with their friends, it takes a moment for
- 4:58Speaker 1: it all to settle, the duster settle and you realize
- 5:01Speaker 1: what actually happened here. So I do think I'm told
- 5:04Speaker 1: some members of the academy immediately said he's got to go,
- 5:07Speaker 1: get him out of here, and then other people were like, well,
- 5:10Speaker 1: who's going to tell Will that? Who's gonna who's going
- 5:12Speaker 1: to sign off on that? Like? Is your name going
- 5:15Speaker 1: to sign off on that? So this whole thing is
- 5:18Speaker 1: getting sloppier and messier by the minute. I understand why
- 5:23Speaker 1: Will's friends, why Will's people want to clarify this, because
- 5:27Speaker 1: they don't want to look as if he wouldn't leave
- 5:30Speaker 1: after leave, So I understand why they want to clarify this.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I think what they've done is given us another day
- 5:37Speaker 1: of this story. Now. I don't think it was going
- 5:39Speaker 1: anywhere this week, but there's definitely now another tale. Sometimes
- 5:43Speaker 1: in these PR crisis it's best to just shut up,
- 5:47Speaker 1: just shut up, So now we have he said, she said,
- 5:51Speaker 1: he said, who said? I don't know quite what's going
- 5:54Speaker 1: on here. What I do know is none of this,
- 5:57Speaker 1: none of this is helping well, which brings us to
- 5:59Speaker 1: our bowl which other day. Now Will's friends are saying
- 6:02Speaker 1: the academy lied and they did not ask him to
- 6:05Speaker 1: leave the ceremony. Who do you believe? Do you believe
- 6:09Speaker 1: Will's friends? Let's be clear about that. It's not Will.
- 6:12Speaker 1: If this statement was on the record, That's where I
- 6:14Speaker 1: get suspicious. If Will had put out a statement and
- 6:17Speaker 1: it said Will Smith and he was should raise publicist
- 6:20Speaker 1: saying I was not asked to leave, that would have
- 6:23Speaker 1: more weight as friends and sources saying that. The fact
- 6:26Speaker 1: they're not on the record, the fact they're not willing
- 6:29Speaker 1: to sign their name to that, that makes me a
- 6:32Speaker 1: little bit suspicious. So who do you believe? Do you
- 6:34Speaker 1: believe Will's friends, let's be clear, or do you believe
- 6:37Speaker 1: the academy who are on the record. Now they are
- 6:39Speaker 1: probably trying to save face two, So I understand why
- 6:42Speaker 1: that might not be necessarily You're complicated. It's so complicated,
- 6:46Speaker 1: which is so delicious. They go voute on our trainer page,
- 6:50Speaker 1: out naughty nice Rob or a Facebook page is naughty
- 6:53Speaker 1: Gussip and mensieur to check back on Monday here to
- 6:56Speaker 1: hear your results. Corey Love, what are you working on? Yes, Well,
- 7:00Speaker 1: let's pay some attention to the actual victim of the situation,
- 7:03Speaker 1: Chris Rock. And Wanda Sykes has revealed what Chris Rock
- 7:07Speaker 1: said to her after the sickening Oscar's incident. So Oscar's
- 7:11Speaker 1: co host wanted dislike. She has broken her silence on
- 7:13Speaker 1: the fiasco at Sunday's awards ceremony, and she's revealed that
- 7:16Speaker 1: Chris Rock apologized to her after he was slapped on
- 7:20Speaker 1: stage by Will Smith, which is so sad. But Sykes
- 7:23Speaker 1: who hosted alongside her fellow comedians Regina Hall and Amy
- 7:26Speaker 1: Schumer on Sunday Night, and they were very funny. I
- 7:29Speaker 1: thought before all this happened. Um. But she said on
- 7:31Speaker 1: Ellen de Generous that she saw Chris Rock at the
- 7:35Speaker 1: Oscars after party and the first thing he said to
- 7:37Speaker 1: her was I'm so sorry, And she was like, why
- 7:39Speaker 1: are you apologizing to me? And he says, well, it
- 7:42Speaker 1: was supposed to be your night. You and Amy and
- 7:45Speaker 1: Regina and y'all were doing such a great job and
- 7:48Speaker 1: I'm so sorry because now everything is going to be
- 7:50Speaker 1: about this moment right with him and Will. So he
- 7:53Speaker 1: did feel really really remorseful for that, and it's you know,
- 7:56Speaker 1: it's admirable, but you know, Wan Disike says to Ellen
- 7:59Speaker 1: that it was sickening to her to witness this, and
- 8:01Speaker 1: she says she physically felt ill and she still feels
- 8:05Speaker 1: a little traumatized, a little traumatized by it. And Amy
- 8:08Speaker 1: Schumer used that word too, traumatized, like they both are
- 8:11Speaker 1: traumatized by this. And you know, I think wander Pykes,
- 8:14Speaker 1: you know, her big thing where she says for them
- 8:16Speaker 1: to let Will stay in that room and enjoy the
- 8:19Speaker 1: rest of the show and accept his award. I was like,
- 8:22Speaker 1: how gross is this? This is just the wrong message now, Robs,
- 8:26Speaker 1: I have to say, what's funny is this comes out?
- 8:28Speaker 1: You know now, But if you look at my post
- 8:31Speaker 1: over the past couple of days on Facebook, I've used
- 8:33Speaker 1: those same words about what I felt. And I'm just
- 8:36Speaker 1: a patron home in my living room, right. I felt
- 8:39Speaker 1: traumatized by this. I felt sickened by this. And when
- 8:42Speaker 1: they all applauded him and stood up for him after
- 8:45Speaker 1: he assaulted someone, it was it was too much, and
- 8:48Speaker 1: so I don't know, what do you think. I agree
- 8:50Speaker 1: with you, and I felt your pain and your passion
- 8:53Speaker 1: on your Postcory. We are people, I think I can
- 8:56Speaker 1: talk on behalf of two of us here because of
- 9:00Speaker 1: who we are. We have been exposed to violence in
- 9:03Speaker 1: our lives and as a game, and growing up the
- 9:07Speaker 1: generation I did, I had to be very careful and
- 9:10Speaker 1: I was only ever, at best a moment away from
- 9:14Speaker 1: being punched by a straight boy. And that's how I felt.
- 9:18Speaker 1: And this just felt like I was back in school.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I was back in a place where I was vulnerable.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And to anybody who's known violence in their life, this
- 9:29Speaker 1: brought all that back up. I think I'm talking on
- 9:31Speaker 1: behalf of a lot of people of color, of gay
- 9:34Speaker 1: and lesbian, people of women. I think that this is
- 9:36Speaker 1: something that we we've seen, we've experienced, and to see
- 9:40Speaker 1: it on the Academy Awards, the one place where I
- 9:45Speaker 1: thought would all be safe, just broke my broke my heart.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I also think too, there's so many people involved in
- 9:52Speaker 1: the art who are vulnerable in some way, who are
- 9:57Speaker 1: misfits in some way. The reason we want tell us
- 10:00Speaker 1: stories or be creative is because maybe nobody else would
- 10:05Speaker 1: tell us stories for us, And to see this happen
- 10:09Speaker 1: in a place that I thought was a safe space
- 10:12Speaker 1: just blew my mind. And so I do understand what
- 10:16Speaker 1: they're saying. This makes me like Chris Rock even more.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I's never been fan of his, Like, I didn't really
- 10:22Speaker 1: know that much about him. I've done some stories on
- 10:24Speaker 1: him before, and I have a few sources around Chris.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I've met his brother a few times, and they always
- 10:30Speaker 1: said he was a gentleman and quite a loner and
- 10:33Speaker 1: quite quiet. But the fact that after getting assaulted he
- 10:37Speaker 1: was concerned about somebody else night makes me love him
- 10:41Speaker 1: even more gacious. I don't want to sue. I can't
- 10:45Speaker 1: believe he's not suing anybody. I mean, can you imagine
- 10:48Speaker 1: that that footage for the rest of his life, that's
- 10:50Speaker 1: what his career has been reduced to, you know, like
- 10:52Speaker 1: the damage to his reputation. I mean, that's worth I
- 10:54Speaker 1: think he needs to call a lawyer. But that's just
- 10:57Speaker 1: some people. He did a stand up show last night
- 11:00Speaker 1: and somebody in the audience shouted that out Corey to
- 11:03Speaker 1: him in Boston. He laughed, I know, and carried down.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I don't think he's going to sue I don't think
- 11:08Speaker 1: so here hey moving along? Whoopy. Goldberg is also talking
- 11:12Speaker 1: about this, and she said that she understands the Academy's
- 11:15Speaker 1: decision to not physically eject will so whoopee, who serves
- 11:19Speaker 1: on their board of governors. She said she understands it
- 11:22Speaker 1: because she's been part of a live show. She hosted
- 11:24Speaker 1: the Oscars, and she said, what are they going to do? Like,
- 11:27Speaker 1: can you imagine if they came back from commercial and
- 11:30Speaker 1: this footage of him struggling fighting the iles, like it's
- 11:34Speaker 1: not they wouldn't have done there? How do you like?
- 11:40Speaker 1: It's so interesting? We think of police and security as magicians.
- 11:45Speaker 1: What do they do if somebody sits in their chair
- 11:49Speaker 1: and says, I'm not moving, I'm not going to I
- 11:51Speaker 1: think in life, and recently we've all been exposed to this,
- 11:54Speaker 1: I think in life we assume that decency and maybe
- 11:58Speaker 1: even shame will force people to do stuff. What do
- 12:03Speaker 1: you do when you go up against somebody who is shameless,
- 12:07Speaker 1: like they just don't care if he's got the I'm
- 12:11Speaker 1: not going to say huntspur if he's got the arrogance.
- 12:13Speaker 1: It's worse to hit somebody on National TV. He's not
- 12:16Speaker 1: going to care if I walk over and nicely say
- 12:19Speaker 1: excuse me, Mr Smith would like you to leave. Is
- 12:22Speaker 1: that the type of gentleman who's going to say, oh,
- 12:24Speaker 1: you're right, rob hand on, let me get my coat?
- 12:28Speaker 1: I think I think yes. If there's like two officers
- 12:31Speaker 1: behind you, like I mean, that's that's the point. Like
- 12:33Speaker 1: they didn't call the law, like you call the law
- 12:36Speaker 1: in this case, and you have the law help you
- 12:38Speaker 1: escort someone out. That's the part that gets murky, you know, right,
- 12:41Speaker 1: it just get you. Imagine if they came back from
- 12:43Speaker 1: break and we'll be dragged up the aisles. Now they
- 12:46Speaker 1: controlled the cameras, we wouldn't see it, but you know
- 12:48Speaker 1: everybody would pull their cell phone. Oh yeah'd give it away,
- 12:53Speaker 1: give it away. With her expression that this is a
- 12:58Speaker 1: little bit more complicated. But just like you know, if
- 13:01Speaker 1: you ask someone to leave and they say no, what
- 13:03Speaker 1: do you do that? Ye do we all leave? The
- 13:06Speaker 1: whole audience got up and said, well, you know what
- 13:09Speaker 1: if you're not leaving, well, we were leaving. What do
- 13:12Speaker 1: you do? That wasn't happen. It's shocking, it's shocking. Hi.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Moving along, Caitlyn Jenner has a big announcement. What is
- 13:19Speaker 1: she up to? Yes, well, I never thought I'd be
- 13:21Speaker 1: happy to do that transition to Caitlyn, But I'm so
- 13:24Speaker 1: happy to talk about something else other than well so yes,
- 13:27Speaker 1: but Caitlyn Jenner. She joins Fox News as a contributor
- 13:30Speaker 1: now so yes. The former Olympian made her first appearance
- 13:34Speaker 1: on handity last night, and as a contributor, Jenner is
- 13:37Speaker 1: expected to offer commentaries and analysis for programs across the
- 13:41Speaker 1: Fox News Media platforms. She says, I was humbled by
- 13:44Speaker 1: this opportunity, this unique opportunity to speak directly to Fox
- 13:48Speaker 1: News Media's millions of viewers about a range of issues
- 13:51Speaker 1: that are important to the American people. That's what Jenner
- 13:54Speaker 1: said in a statement. Now. While her role as a contributor,
- 13:58Speaker 1: there's new. Jenner has made various appearances on the network
- 14:02Speaker 1: over the last few years, and some were a little controversial,
- 14:05Speaker 1: like earlier this month she discussed transgender athletes on America
- 14:08Speaker 1: Reports and it was, you know, something that the public
- 14:11Speaker 1: and she did go back and forth over about her position.
- 14:14Speaker 1: But um prior to joining Fox News, Jenner did run
- 14:17Speaker 1: for governor. Also, by the way, she was doing the
- 14:19Speaker 1: whole recall with Gavin Newsom. But of course her governor's
- 14:24Speaker 1: bid did fail, so you know she um, she's peculiar.
- 14:28Speaker 1: You know that there's that viral video now rob of
- 14:31Speaker 1: her and Lady Gaga. We talked about it on the show.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I love it was no part of her. You know what,
- 14:37Speaker 1: if that's how you feel, don't watch. Like I'm not
- 14:40Speaker 1: a fan of Caitlyn Jenner, I won't be watching her.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I'm glad she got a job, Glad that she can
- 14:45Speaker 1: get her voice had, although I think she could already,
- 14:48Speaker 1: Like I don't think she was exactly somebody that didn't
- 14:51Speaker 1: have a voice. She has millions of followers on social
- 14:53Speaker 1: media and she has there'll be time recruise there. So
- 14:57Speaker 1: I hope she uses it responsible. That's all I'm going
- 14:59Speaker 1: to say. Hey, not a political show. I hope she
- 15:02Speaker 1: uses it responsibly. Hey, quickly before we get a break,
- 15:05Speaker 1: we might get to see Harry and Meghan, because they
- 15:08Speaker 1: might be going to Brooklyn Beckham's wedding. Sir Brooklyn Beckham,
- 15:13Speaker 1: that's the son of Posh Spice, Victoria Beckham and David Beckham.
- 15:17Speaker 1: He's getting married to Nicole in I think just a
- 15:21Speaker 1: couple of weeks of the Sun is recording that Harry
- 15:24Speaker 1: and Meghan have been invited to the ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida.
- 15:28Speaker 1: It's not in the UK, and they might go. Let's
- 15:30Speaker 1: remember that we did see David and Victoria at Harry
- 15:34Speaker 1: and Megan's wedding back in two thousand and eighteen. They're
- 15:37Speaker 1: still close. My inside is saying, you know they're not best. Yes,
- 15:40Speaker 1: there's sort of more show busy celebrity friends than real friends.
- 15:44Speaker 1: But I guess it's a cue to get the Duke
- 15:46Speaker 1: and the duchess and your wed at all. You wait
- 15:49Speaker 1: to see those pictures. We're gonna take a quick break
- 15:52Speaker 1: and we'll be right back by show on rom shooting
- 15:58Speaker 1: with our dear friend Cory Andrew. Cory, let's get to
- 16:01Speaker 1: the polls. You're right, darling. So the Academy promises to
- 16:06Speaker 1: take appropriate action over the Will Smith incident. Should he
- 16:10Speaker 1: be kicked out of the organization we asked? Said yes,
- 16:14Speaker 1: Will should no longer be allowed in this organization. I
- 16:20Speaker 1: think I'm with you, and I might even go a
- 16:22Speaker 1: little further there. Hey, don't forget to vote on today's poll.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Go to the page at Naughty Nights Rob and be
- 16:28Speaker 1: sure to check back on Monday to hear your results
- 16:31Speaker 1: are now. Oh I like this part of the show
- 16:34Speaker 1: after the nicest of the day. Yes, and you should
- 16:41Speaker 1: feel right at home. It's very British this next piece,
- 16:43Speaker 1: of course so well. The Queen and Royal's honored Prince
- 16:47Speaker 1: Philip with green instead of black at the memorial service.
- 16:51Speaker 1: So the Queen and several other royals seemingly paid tribute
- 16:54Speaker 1: to Prince Philip by wearing green outfits to his Westminster
- 16:58Speaker 1: Abbey memorial service. The evoked Philip's official livery color of
- 17:02Speaker 1: Edinburgh green. Yes, I hope, I said, what did that? More? Justice?
- 17:08Speaker 1: I did? Okay. So the Queen accessorized her outfit with
- 17:11Speaker 1: a matching hat and a pair of sleek black shoes
- 17:14Speaker 1: and a black handbag. And she also paid tribute to
- 17:16Speaker 1: Philip donn in a yellow, gold, ruby and diamonds scarp broach,
- 17:22Speaker 1: which was a personal gift given to her by her
- 17:24Speaker 1: husband in nineteen sixty six. Now Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall.
- 17:29Speaker 1: These names of these titles. The Duchess of Cornwall and
