- 0:00Hello. Hello and welcome to another
- 0:02episode of the Christian. We podcast.
- 0:04Today's guest is a Christian philosopher and podcaster
- 0:08hailing all the way from Brooklyn in the United States.
- 0:10His name is Jonathan Drayton, welcome to the show.
- 0:13Jonathan Hayden, I'm doing. Well, thanks for having me by
- 0:16the way, I'm going to subscribe or your channel and I have to
- 0:19say yeah, really enjoy your you sure.
- 0:22Thank you so much, man. That means the world to me to
- 0:25hear and like I'm kind of just fat.
- 0:28I'm always fascinated by it. By my guests.
- 0:31But like, I just got a ask you right off the bat, man.
- 0:34What is a Christian philosopher? How does that work?
- 0:36Surely, that's okay. Is that I did?
- 0:39I know I was gonna say it was juxtaposition, like, it's two
- 0:42opposites but no, you can be you can philosophize Christianity.
- 0:46Yeah, I know. Tell me, what is a Christian
- 0:48philosopher? So this is something that I came
- 0:51up with, but I would say I'm a Christian first and whatever
- 0:56topic I'm interested in. I am second but I think you The
- 1:00Christian doctor Christopher position Christian that sure,
- 1:05right. I think when you look at the
- 1:08word philosophy, its love of wisdom.
- 1:11So I am actually person that loves wisdom.
- 1:15The only difference for me is I look at philosophy in a context,
- 1:20love and God's word Through the Bible.
- 1:23So all I do is all my arguments, a centered around the belief of
- 1:29Gods, the government God's justice odds of, and or the
- 1:35arguments are centered around the message of the Gospel.
- 1:38So, that's pretty much what it is.
- 1:39Love wisdom. I prefer most of the wisdom to
- 1:43come out of word of God and that's kind of like my filter,
- 1:48you know, my compass of how I view the world and how I
- 1:53approach things and how I intend to interact.
- 1:58So that's really pretty much what it is.
- 2:00You know, a lot of people view it as if they have this, some
- 2:03sort of conflict. But I think you could be
- 2:06mutually exclusive, it could be diametrically opposed the
- 2:10question becomes to what extent and to how far are you willing
- 2:15to take, you know, those two positions and and you know I
- 2:18think that average philosopher loves to be free from the
- 2:22constraint of a basis of something that centered around a
- 2:29limitation. Ian Wright.
- 2:30So they like to be free thinkers based upon the knowledge and
- 2:34insight that they learn over a period of time.
- 2:37And at least for someone like me I believe the buck stops and
- 2:42therefore I learned over time to see how things fall in line with
- 2:48least where my faith lies. leads into what I was going to ask you
- 2:55next, which is when you, you must find times in your life,
- 2:59where there is sort of a conflict of interest to a
- 3:02conflict of beliefs and When you reach those, how do you tackle
- 3:08them? I mean, because when I look at
- 3:10like, I will just say now for those listening where I
- 3:14personally, lean is somewhere kind of like in spiritualism or
- 3:19agnostic, you know, reason I'm not an atheist and I've said in
- 3:22the past, sometimes I'm an atheist and they're normally
- 3:24change that Nago, I'm agnostic. Because for me, it's like, I'm
- 3:28open to the idea and a possibilities.
- 3:30And I like to explore, like, all religions to try and find.
- 3:34And whatever makes sense to me. Personally, you know?
- 3:36But to me it's like a whole journey that you take yourself
- 3:40on and you're constantly like reflecting and wondering and
- 3:43such. But it was interesting to me is
- 3:45when someone chooses a particular faith and sticks with
- 3:48a, where that kind of leaves you, when, for example, certain
- 3:54things in your life, you know, test your belief systems, or,
- 3:58you know, maybe there isn't an answer for specifically the
- 4:02problem that you're having How do you deal with those kind of
- 4:07conflicts and where that leaves your belief system?
- 4:10Yeah. So you know, one of them faced
- 4:12with, you know, push back on base with adversity, right?
- 4:18Understand that. That's part of the journey in
- 4:20anything, right? You know, show me the person
- 4:23that's live life and doesn't have any scars right?
- 4:26As it been through some things think, if in life, you know,
- 4:31part of the Christian walk isn't Bracing, what would be
- 4:35considered a sorry, right? I think it's part of this stage
- 4:39that mows you, right? So, if I made this to scriptures
- 4:43that I can think of right now that shape my reality, at least
- 4:48gets me to a place that I can understand that.
- 4:51It's actually for my benefit of an example asses in the Book of
- 4:55James that says consider it pure joy.
- 4:58When You Face trials and tribulations to know that the
- 5:01testing of your faith produces Variants that press event has
- 5:06finished his work so that you may be mature and complete not
- 5:10lacking anything. If anyone lacks anything at the
- 5:13max God who gives generously without finding for this
- 5:17surpasses in Romans Chapter 5 Verse 3 to 5 that tells you
- 5:21rejoice in your suffering, because suffering, produces
- 5:25perseverance, perseverance produces character and character
- 5:29produces hope. And hope does not put you to
- 5:32shame because the Holy Spirit has been I poured out onto you.
- 5:36When I face situations, I've learned to embrace them because
- 5:40out of it, you become a better person, right?
- 5:43I think in order for a person to mature and to appreciate
- 5:48something, it has to be a counter, right?
- 5:52So it's sort of like, David. The Bible had a Goliath.
- 5:58I believe we all have a good life and I like so rather than
- 6:02running from The Challenge is embraced the challenge because
- 6:06once the challenge is over you come out of that situation, much
- 6:09better than you were when you went into it.
- 6:11And for someone like me Faith is that compass that steers me in
- 6:16the direction of embrace that situation as challenging me
- 6:21because at the end of the day I think just like anything else.
- 6:24There's a there's a resistance. It's that comes along that path
- 6:28of you trying to do what you feel is, right?
- 6:30And the question is, are you going to embrace that resistant
- 6:33or you're going to run away from you?
- 6:36That's kind of how when I see stuff that I deal with, I
- 6:41counted as Joy because it's necessary, it's like for my
- 6:44good, right? And I'll mention one more verse
- 6:47in Romans 8:28 it says, all things work together for those
- 6:52who love the Lord. And according according
- 6:55According to his purpose that situation that I'm going
- 6:58through. I believe, God is using it to
- 7:02help develop my character to help put me in a place where my
- 7:06faith increases and improves. But if resistance doesn't exist,
- 7:11and how can I say that I'm involved?
- 7:14I've improved, you know, I'm in a better place where any time
- 7:19something comes up, I can point to that situation, that shows
- 7:23that I've overcame the Stanchions.
- 7:29There are things in what you said that I believe in and
- 7:32there's other things that I question and this mainly comes
- 7:37from a combination of two things.
- 7:39One is my personal experience and the other is the experiences
- 7:44of many others that have communicated to me over the
- 7:46years Beyond social media, real life.
- 7:49And so on, what you were talking about, you know, with with
- 7:52having faith, you know, Pope belief could pushing forward in
- 7:58despite everything. I think that there is truth in
- 8:01that and whether that's because you believe in something bigger
- 8:04than yourself or over. That's just you believing in the
- 8:08fact that things will get better at some point.
- 8:12Sometimes, that doesn't apply. There are people sometimes the
- 8:18come into my live streams and you have managed to sort of
- 8:20create like a nice little safe space for people to talk and
- 8:25experience, share how they feel about certain things.
- 8:29And sometimes people come in there in a bit like what I've
- 8:32been dealing with x and x problems for years and years and
- 8:35years, and it never gets better. And what do I do?
- 8:38How can, how can I just have belief and faith in things when
- 8:42things never get better? And, you know, I Try to do my
- 8:45best to give people good advice, but I agree with them to like
- 8:51because I've been there like when you're going through stuff
- 8:54for many many years and it's just see, it feels like the
- 8:58world is just crashing on your shoulders.
- 9:01And life is just throwing you everything, and from it'll
- 9:04religious standpoint, I would, I would be angry if there was a
- 9:07god, I'd be like, you know, it's one thing to throw me tests in
- 9:11life and to keep pushing me into, you know, to give me To
- 9:15give me all these things. I need to move forward, but when
- 9:18it's just Relentless year, upon year, upon year, it makes you
- 9:21wonder when you think about when people take their lives or
- 9:27people, you know, find themselves in really tricky
- 9:30situations and they wonder how they can keep going.
- 9:33I don't know that it's necessarily enough to just have
- 9:35faith and, you know, hope that it will get better.
- 9:38I mean, when I look at my own personal experience, I can, I
- 9:42can empathize. I remember a time in my life
- 9:45when I was young and I hated life and it constantly felt like
- 9:49everything sucked all the time and it was never going to get
- 9:52better and You know what was ironic is that I my life changed
- 9:59it changed for the better but a lot of things had to change my
- 10:03life. Had to look completely different
- 10:05and then I entered probably the worst period of my life ever.
- 10:11So it kind of my life kind of went, you know, and then I do
- 10:19recognize How I changed as a person for the better.
- 10:24And I'm grateful for that. And in a weird kind of messed up
- 10:27way, I feel like it was necessary because now here I am
- 10:31the man that sits before you and speak speaking with you but at
- 10:33the same time I wonder and you know I think about things like
- 10:37is it fair is it just is it right?
- 10:40And the thing that kept me going is pure stubbornness, that's it.
- 10:47I just kept going because what else is there?
- 10:51I wasn't going to give up and Go down the path of us broke down
- 10:55before but I've been close. I've considered that I've you
- 10:59know but when you see your friends go down that route and
- 11:01you're like, okay, I just I didn't want to do that because I
- 11:08felt like I don't, I didn't to be honest, when I got to that
- 11:13decision of, then again, it goes back to the wider point.
- 11:17I guess about what we're talking about in this show is so, you
- 11:20know, doing things bigger than yourself.
- 11:22I decided to stay because of the people around me people that I
- 11:25love the people that I cared about.
- 11:27And I tried to kind of find a way to keep going.
- 11:32For them and not for me and that is positive.
- 11:35But you know it does need to be about you.
- 11:37That's the thing. You need to be happy because
- 11:42without you being happy, it's very difficult to keep moving
- 11:45forward, and keep pushing and bring it back to what we're
- 11:48talking about. Like, Because I know you're not
- 11:52saying to have Blind Faith. I know that's not what it is but
- 11:55at the same time it's like it's hard to just believe in the
- 11:58process and I think it's going to get better when all you seem
- 12:02to receive is challenges and tough things.
- 12:05And you know, I hear that there's friends I have who, you
- 12:08know, they describe themselves as being tough people but
- 12:12they're not happy about it. You know, I mean it's like you
- 12:15know, life keeps throwing these challenges and and yet life
- 12:18isn't getting better. I can deal with it.
- 12:21I can try and make the best of it, but why isn't it getting
- 12:25better so deflate? I guess what I'm trying to ask
- 12:31you is we've all of that is, is how do you advise?
- 12:36People in that position people that are going through a lot
- 12:39that may be a dealing with this for many, many years.
- 12:42How do you advise that from from your standpoint?
- 12:47Well, having a relationship, you know, with Christ, there's an
- 12:51understanding that Jesus said, in this life, you will face
- 12:55tribulation Now, you will have hardships.
- 12:59You are you what? You're going to experience hard
- 13:01time, but he says be a good cheer for I have overcome the
- 13:04world. So you know things are not going
- 13:09to be perfect but you know when you declare that Jesus Christ as
- 13:14your lord, you're going to be persecuted.
- 13:16Now, persecution may not be exactly what Jesus face but I
- 13:21remember when he was crucified and resurrected there were Many
- 13:27Christians who declared and said that they will follow the price
- 13:32and it says in the scriptures that 500 people witness.
- 13:36Resurrection a lot of them were tortured killed by a man named
- 13:42Mero, right? But to me what makes a person
- 13:48stable and their faith is that it's a conviction that a
- 13:52preference. So conviction is something that
- 13:55you believe no matter what. Circumstance that you have a
- 13:58preference is something that changes based upon new
- 14:02information. So there's a court case in 1982
- 14:07Jonas Yoder versus stick state of Wisconsin, right?
- 14:11So going a little history and what happened was he was told he
- 14:16was homeschooling his kids and I guess he was going to take them
- 14:20to school and at the time he was informed of told that you know
- 14:26certain Things that you were doing for your children, you can
- 14:29no longer do that anymore. So when it comes to having
- 14:32faith, you have to understand. At least, are you going to stand
- 14:38convicted? And what you believe, regardless
- 14:40of the circumstances? Are you going to fold and allow
- 14:44the circumstances to dictate their position that, right?
- 14:49And you mentioned something earlier that I read with.
- 14:54That the faith that I have, is it blind?
- 14:56But it's a trusted. Faith is a reason Faith.
- 15:00So there's something in the book of Hebrews chapter 11, that
- 15:04talks about the whole of faith, and it's different people that
- 15:09are being honored and there are mentioned in there.
- 15:13Some that aren't mentioned that speak about this lifestyle and
- 15:18what they went through and how the faith that they had was
- 15:21viewed as honorable Right. And unfortunately once you step
- 15:28into the real world, you have real life experiences, there's
- 15:32no easy way out. So I'm not going to tell you.
- 15:34There's an easy way out but there's an understanding that
- 15:37you're not alone. Right?
- 15:39There are other believers around the world.
- 15:40That's why there's a saying in Romans that we should usually
- 15:44encouraged by one another that share.
- 15:47And I saying understanding that is no easy.
- 15:51You know, receiving of the fact that when you stand for truth,
- 15:55they were people that agree with you, right?
- 15:59And at least, when it comes to me and sharing these things,
- 16:04have to be even kill in regards to people's willingness to
- 16:09accept it or people's willingness to reject it.
- 16:12I think there's an understanding that and the book of First Peter
- 16:16chapter 3, verse 15, it says always be prepared to give a
- 16:19reason for the hope that you have for do it.
- 16:21Gentle and respectful and I understand historically, you
- 16:25know, we can count the ways of how people have murdered and
- 16:30killed in the name of religion, right.
- 16:32And that's a huge problem. Getting back to the Catholic
- 16:36church in the 1800's, right? And is even and passes that that
- 16:41speaks about that too. And something, I Vish, he went
- 16:44to 66 where Jesus is having a conversation, as he answers into
- 16:49Samaria and their share. The gospel message and people
- 16:53are not responsive to it, don't want to hear it and immediately
- 16:58he's there. The two disciples are holding a
- 17:02passage in Elijah that he called on Fire Down, Heaven onto
- 17:07people. And what we see in that Texas,
- 17:09Jesus rebukes and said that, the son of man did not come.
- 17:14To kill lives, but to save them. So, it's all in the perspective
- 17:18and how we understand it. And I think when we look at,
- 17:22when the question that your action is, what do you say in
- 17:25these moments in these situations?
- 17:27When you're going through hard times in life?
- 17:30I think that that's part of life and every Circle, whether you're
- 17:34a Believer or not. I think that that's part of what
- 17:37you have to deal with, on a regular basis and I can speak
- 17:40from personal experience. My life hasn't been blue skies
- 17:44and Sun Shines. I've gone through quite a bit of
- 17:48stuff, but I understand that some of the things that I'm
- 17:51going through. It's I believe this part of his
- 17:54stage, interesting enough. I don't know if you're familiar
- 17:58with the story of Joseph for For his most of his young life in
- 18:02his father's house, he has brothers that were envious of
- 18:05him because of the guess that he had the ability to interpret
- 18:09dreams. And what happens is his brothers
- 18:12didn't like him and they sold him into slavery.
- 18:16Right. And then he went through a
- 18:18period in time when he was in jail.
- 18:21And it said, regardless of that period of time that God was with
- 18:25him in spite of it. Then Pharaoh's actual wife part
- 18:30of her said that he tried the vapor.
- 18:33So then he was placed inside the jail but in the midst of that,
- 18:37he saw that God's hand was still there.
- 18:38They were still grace and mercy and spite of the punishment that
- 18:42he was receiving. He's in jail and he get any
- 18:47gains favor with the warrant in jail.
- 18:51And he's put in charge of responsibilities, the he runs
- 18:55the East. There's a situation where you
- 18:58have a cup Bearer and a chief who enters the prison.
- 19:03And he finds out that they are having these weird dreams, he
- 19:07interprets the dreams and he expects one of them to go back
- 19:11and tell Pharaoh. So that he can say, hey, this
- 19:13guy can interpret dreams that he can remove himself out of the
- 19:17situation that he said, the guy forgets him who he is.
- 19:21Years go by. So imagine this is all suffering
- 19:24of suffering. Period of time that Joseph going
- 19:27through. 2 years goes by Farah has a dream, then is a
- 19:33conversation that. Hey, there is a man who
- 19:36interpret these two individuals dreams, he's in jail, he's
- 19:40brought to Pharaoh, he's told he his his dream.
- 19:44He's told her the dream and the next thing you know, he's in a
- 19:48position now where he's in second and ruin all of Egypt.
- 19:53So what do I say to that? All those experience up into
- 19:56that point when long periods are suffering, right?
- 20:00And then He finally was able to see the end of the tunnel.
- 20:04Like, thanks excited for him and then later on he speaks about
- 20:08how now he's in a predicament, when he starts a family and he
- 20:12has a wife and he has two kids and he's in a point now where in
- 20:17reflecting he says, you know, everything that had happened to
- 20:20me in the past, I don't even remember at this point.
- 20:23So I say this all to say that sometimes, you know your prime
- 20:27years, it's just success happens, in different stages of
- 20:30your life. Sometimes your successes early
- 20:33and then you suffer later. Sometimes, your success is much
- 20:37later in your life. Like I believe the ages of 25
- 20:40used to be what is considered your prime years now has shifted
- 20:43to 37 because you're looking at the success that you gained in
- 20:48the wisdom that you're getting over a period of time.
- 20:52Whether you started businesses, when you're opening new
- 20:54projects, whether you have more things to offer, whether your
- 20:58list on your resume is extending and I I'd say all those things
- 21:02work together for your good in the end because if you haven't
- 21:07gone through those things that you can't recall those
- 21:09experiences. And if those experiences don't
- 21:11happen, then you can't look back at it and say, you know, I've
- 21:16learned something from that experience.
- 21:18So I understand you know the toughest challenges that we go
- 21:21to in the stuff that we face and I've been there and I've had my
- 21:25car, I fix my car numerous times I got two hundred thirty two
- 21:29thousand miles in this car. Change the power steering pump
- 21:32out, I've changed a numerous around the things.
- 21:36And let me tell you, is kind of my pockets, but I know at the
- 21:39end later on, I'll be able to look at that and say, you know
- 21:43what, that was a period in time when I learned a lot about the
- 21:47cars and now I can pretty much tell you if I something's going
- 21:50on. I kind of know where it is, but
- 21:52I wouldn't have gotten to that point for didn't happen.
- 21:55So I think there are reasons for them and I think that's part of,
- 22:00you know, your growth. Age and your development.
- 22:02So that's just you know what I believe and I believe it's going
- 22:06to work for my good eventually. It's going to come out where
- 22:09I've benefited. You know, you raise a very good
- 22:13point and we did touch on it briefly earlier, but I think
- 22:17it's true. Like when especially when, when
- 22:19you get older and you look at people younger than you and
- 22:23you're advising them and they get a bit annoyed.
- 22:27You know, like, oh, you know, just because you're older
- 22:29doesn't mean you know, everything.
- 22:31Or if they say like, oh, I've been through things and they
- 22:33probably have but there's something to be said for, like,
- 22:37Getting older going through hardships and so on and or even
- 22:41just any age going through hardships and and how their ages
- 22:45you because it does age, you are, it does.
- 22:47It gives you like a sense of perspective that you can't.
- 22:51It's like once it happens. You can't go back.
- 22:54Yeah, that's, you know, and it's kind of terrifying in a way
- 22:57because it's like when I think about the bad things that
- 22:59happened in my life and the way I am, now I'm grateful to be the
- 23:03way I am, but I also remember who I used to be.
- 23:07B. That person's gone.
- 23:11He's never coming back. I mean, I'm glad he's not
- 23:14because you know, he was just a boy but at the same time some of
- 23:19that there's like a sadness there sometimes because it's
- 23:23like I look back and I'm like, part of the reason that that boy
- 23:26is gone is because life was was not kind and it was like, you
- 23:32know, you kind of pushed into into how you need to be and it's
- 23:37kind of So sweet, I think because you become the person
- 23:41that you were supposed to become.
- 23:42Yeah. But along the way, a lot of
- 23:45things had that happen for that and you know, even even when I
- 23:49just look at Jesus, right? You had a Ministry for three and
- 23:52a half years and he went through periods of time of healing,
- 23:57being, you know, praised by people.
- 23:59And then he went through a period of time when people were
- 24:01yelling, that he was going to die, going to be And all those
- 24:06cheers turned into angry voices and I can imagine you know, you
- 24:12having to die that way and then one minute of your life you
- 24:16looking at the great times you had and everything.
- 24:19So you know it's these stages that you he's a little stages
- 24:22that you go through and you kind of wonder why am I going through
- 24:26this? Why is it necessary?
- 24:28And I think as human being sometimes we're Square pain so
- 24:31close to the details and we don't look at The main points of
- 24:35Our Lives. It's the details that hurt us.
- 24:38And if we were concerned about every single detail, and I don't
- 24:42think we'll ever get to where we need to be.
- 24:43It's sort of like, hey, you need to go through this period in
- 24:46time, in order for you, to get to this point here and sometimes
- 24:50it's meeting. People is running into
- 24:53individuals that you're that, you know, you're in the right
- 24:55place at the right time, I call them Divine means because I
- 24:59think it's just a lawyer path to where you need to be and some
- 25:04things in place. Some things are not like just
- 25:05recently, I lend money to someone and they kind of
- 25:11promised me that they can, they can pay back.
- 25:16And I always say, you know, if you can't pay it back, always
- 25:21make sure you tell the person. So the person said that they
- 25:24could, but I guess why would you make mention of that?
- 25:27If you know you couldn't they, you know, the person is not
- 25:29given to you but that's you assuming how things are gonna
- 25:33play out. And I I did that.
- 25:35And then, you know, the excuses came and I got really, really
- 25:40frustrated because our relationship was silent up into
- 25:44that point, right? And I had to learn like, hey
- 25:48being generous is amazing. Sometimes you have to use wisdom
- 25:54to know, is the Friendship worth me?
- 25:57Giving me this, I'm not fussed, I get into an argument for to be
- 26:00a lost and then for me not to have the same respect that I
- 26:03have for you from the beginning, right?
- 26:05So these are things you don't, you know, when you haven't gone
- 26:08through certain things and then they happen it's like a why did
- 26:14I do that? But in the moment it felt like
- 26:16it was the right thing to do. But then now you're like, man, I
- 26:20just lost Lost them of money because I placed my faith in
- 26:25someone that I thought would return the favor.
- 26:28And you kind of realize, you start to measure out how things
- 26:33play out and maybe the respect and love that.
- 26:36You might have, might not be the same measurement that the other
- 26:39person has. So he's very tricky when you
- 26:41start walking down those paths. But, hey, if it doesn't ever
- 26:44happen that you never ever learn from it, and then you don't have
- 26:48wisdom to share the someone that you care about maybe a child.
- 26:51Maybe friend, maybe a wife or husband in the future.
- 26:55So I think those situations all count towards something.
- 26:59You might be really upset in the moment, but later on you can sit
- 27:03back and be like I went through that.
- 27:05I got past it and it's in my past.
- 27:09So yeah, I think about you. Why khaki with that, I think is
- 27:15thinking about how I'm remembering how everything that
- 27:20happens in life. You have to live with.
- 27:22So while it might seem frustrating in the moment, like,
- 27:27oh, you know, I've been used, they've used me.
- 27:29Did it like, you know, I've had that in the past, someone news
- 27:34me badly and I can tell you that When I look back shorts
- 27:39frustrating but it's done. It's in the past did that he
- 27:41can't hurt me anymore. And now it's like what you said
- 27:45earlier about how, you know, once it's in the past it's just
- 27:49it's gone like it's it doesn't, what is it?
- 27:53Now it just doesn't exist anymore.
- 27:54It's just it's just a thing that happened and that's the way that
- 27:58I look at it but for them if they ever do, you think about
- 28:03that? They'll have to think about the
- 28:05reality because sooner or later Ality hits.
- 28:08You even if you have a particular vision and
- 28:11understanding of how you see the world and, you know, maybe for
- 28:16instance, let's say you play the victim.
- 28:18They say you are all. I'm victims.
- 28:20Oh, everyone else. But me, that kind of attitude.
- 28:23One day, it's going to click and you're going to realize.
- 28:25Oh, no, actually, like I'm the problem.
- 28:27Like, I, this is these things are of my doing, right?
- 28:32Yeah. And if, and when that happens,
- 28:35You're going to see, things are going to start fighting back and
- 28:37you're going to see things from a different perspective.
- 28:40And you going to be like, oh oh no, what do I do it?
- 28:43Like any you know mean like and I really I like it it back to
- 28:50the idea of like let's say you hate someone, write that hate
- 28:57doesn't really affect the other person.
- 29:00They might feel that maybe they want desperately, want your
- 29:02forgiveness, I don't know. But like ultimately that It will
- 29:05consume you more than it will ever hurt them or her you.
- 29:11When you let it go you just realize it just, it doesn't, it
- 29:13doesn't mean anything. What would you say to an atheist
- 29:16or an agnostic or somebody who believes in nothing at all and
- 29:20leads their life? Only according to what they see
- 29:23in their 3D worlds or whatever their belief, Maybe Well, I
- 29:28think that it will all wise and our own eyes, right?
- 29:33These on what it is that we believe.
- 29:36So I think have you ever read about the story about the cave
- 29:44of philosophy, story in a cave and being limited to what you
- 29:47can only seeing? What you can only hear, okay?
- 29:49So I flip that, I shared it if If the way I view the world is
- 29:56limited right then? Because it's limited and I don't
- 30:04know, all there is to know about how can be successful flourish.
- 30:11So I think when you walk in life, only seen it from a
- 30:15certain perspective, but not from a large Spectrum
- 30:20perspective, I think you're missing out, right?
- 30:24And even if you don't Agree about what it is.
- 30:29I still think it's worth while investigating.
- 30:32So you know in school I majored in history, political science,
- 30:39philosophy. And they are a lot of
- 30:41interesting topics that I engaged over my time in college.
- 30:46And one of those topics happened to be about a philosopher named
- 30:53Heidegger And he spoke about what he called human existence
- 30:58and he called it dies on. And he talked about the value of
- 31:01the human being, and how things become a value.
- 31:05Once we step into that space, and we gave him that, right?
- 31:10So for an example, he would say that a pain across your room
- 31:15doesn't have any value, it doesn't exist.
- 31:19But you who's a moving object, a human being a presence and come
- 31:24Um, and give purpose to that pain room over there.
- 31:29Right now, some may say the pain exists, merely because it has
- 31:35value regardless whether you give it value.
- 31:39Some will say yes I agree, you do give it value because if you
- 31:43or someone else who doesn't use it, then what value does it
- 31:46have? If it's not being used, those
- 31:49are multiple different perspectives to have.
- 31:51All you can be a person that's limited to that perspective.
- 31:55If you think that you have, and therefore that's the only way
- 31:58that you see its value, right? And you know, the saying, one
- 32:03man's trash is another man's treasure.
- 32:05That's based upon the Limited. Perspective of the person has or
- 32:11the outcome that they can see it going through.
- 32:13Eventually right there is a passage in 2 Corinthians where
- 32:18it says, those who think they know something, don't yet know
- 32:22as they ought to know. I love that passage.
- 32:24Because what it does is it highlights that anybody who
- 32:29thinks that they have arrived in life, right?
- 32:32I would run from them, right, because there's so much about
- 32:35like this almost about the things that you encounter
- 32:37things. As you experience that, if
- 32:39you're willing to only remain and that's about that, that
- 32:43space where this is as far as you want to take it and you
- 32:46don't want to learn anymore. I think, as creatures of habit,
- 32:49we're always looking to evolve into to improve and to get
- 32:52better. So even if I don't agree with
- 32:55it, I don't I don't like the perspective.
- 32:58That doesn't mean that there's not more to it.
- 33:01And I think when we close ourselves off, from
- 33:04understanding of person and the way they hold the reason they
- 33:08This thing's are the reason why I didn't believe thanks.
- 33:10I think what so caught up in how we view the world that were
- 33:14closed off about house and now stuff and I think it's always
- 33:17important to embrace and love and appreciate someone else's
- 33:21perspective even though I may not agree with it but it allows
- 33:24me to be prepared for the next conversation and dialogue that I
- 33:27have somebody else because now they you know giving me the
- 33:31tools and information that I need to have a productive
- 33:34conversation on my hands. So that's what I would say.
- 33:37Hey Hey, I don't agree with it but I understand it and I think
- 33:41when you have an understanding of it, you're appreciating the
- 33:44person and what's important to them, even though I can
- 33:48subscribe to what it is that they believe it but there's
- 33:51something about sitting together and breaking bread and not
- 33:56agreeing but maybe come to some Common Era tea.
- 34:00That out of it, is something you get that can be useful in the
- 34:04future and that's to me, it's very important to me when it
- 34:09comes to relationships and it comes to, you know, building
- 34:14connections that's kind of how I see it.
- 34:18So yeah, but I would tell somebody that's this.
- 34:24What are the terms that you've used on your Instagram posts?
- 34:27Quite frequently is a smart believer.
- 34:30What is a smart believer? Well, I would say a smart
- 34:38Believers one, that knows what they ought to do and then acting
- 34:42on it, right? I think a lot of us, sometimes
- 34:45what we tend to do is we know what is right?
- 34:49And yet we kind of steer away from it.
- 34:52So there's a difference between ignorance and stupidity.
- 34:56Ignorance is not knowing therefore, the choices and
- 34:59decisions that you make are evident because you were in a
- 35:02position where you didn't know Stupidity is knowing what you
- 35:06ought to do and it's still not doing it and getting upset about
- 35:10afterwards. After you've done it, you to me,
- 35:14what put you in a category of being stupid, it's having the
- 35:17informations that act appropriately and then electing
- 35:21not to and then you have no one else to blame.
- 35:23But yourself. So I use it as an example.
- 35:26It was a point in time, in which, in my life when I was in
- 35:29California, And I had a roommate that you smoke weed had to me.
- 35:36And I'm not a smoker. As a roommate, I understood that
- 35:41for him. Smoking weed was his ability to
- 35:44function like he was smoking weed so much.
- 35:47Yeah, he use. We and it allowed him to
- 35:50function, he was a musician and so you know it's interesting
- 35:54enough. There are people are very
- 35:56creative. You know, when they tap into
- 36:00that and I understand it because I you know, I'm a lover of jazz,
- 36:03I'm a lover. I used to play a few
- 36:06instruments. So I know a lot of people who
- 36:09Looking to be creative and they're looking to tap into
- 36:12something that they believe can help them.
- 36:14So that was a big thing for him. He loved music, he tapped into
- 36:18that and that was just his way of like, man.
- 36:21Now what I had told him and I said, hey, you know, at the time
- 36:25I remember when I first landed and it just Fresno California
- 36:29and I'm pack some food because he's prepared.
- 36:34Yeah, yeah. So there was two things that
- 36:37happened here with him. And his name is Joe by the way.
- 36:42Joey watching you know I love you man.
- 36:44You still you still brother to me.
- 36:46So when I first landed I remember he took me to Walmart
- 36:52and I got everything that I needed who got very down to
- 36:56earth died and then it was a class at night that I used to
- 37:00ask him to get me from because the distance from where I lived
- 37:03to the University was not a good 15 minutes and all he would say
- 37:08is hey just get me a snow cone from Sonic and that's like your
- 37:12pay or hey, you know, pass me a couple bucks for my gas tank and
- 37:16I'm glad. Okay, that's cool.
- 37:17I got you and I remember I was going home for Christmas and I
- 37:24remember we had a conversation. I said, hey I would appreciate
- 37:26it. If you know if I'm going
- 37:29anywhere if you couldn't like if you could just function
- 37:33regularly, like I would appreciate that and knowing
- 37:36history and knowing who he is. It was idiotic on my part to
- 37:42think that by me, making that suggestion to him that he would,
- 37:46he would actually do it. So I remember him take him me to
- 37:50the airport and, you know, and some of these highways to his
- 37:54this Loop and she go to and I remember I remember him driving
- 37:59on it, the car twisting and we drive it off the cliff and
- 38:04landed into dirt. And amazingly because it was
- 38:07interesting. I'm on the phone with my mom and
- 38:09having a conversation, the car shifts, one way it shifts.
- 38:12The other way, we'd go off the cliff in my life flash before my
- 38:17eyes. And I'm on the phone and was
- 38:20screaming. What?
- 38:23What my mom and we land in a ditch.
- 38:29And my moms like it is. Okay, as I'll call you back, I
- 38:32climb out of the ditch. And I was ready to just say all
- 38:37types of things, but what made me realize is not only did we
- 38:44land in a ditch? There was no damage to his car.
- 38:47So, we were Shield it somehow. And a random guy comes up.
- 38:55And he says where you going? I said I'm going to the airport
- 38:58and he drives me the rest of the way and when I land and I'm
- 39:01waiting for my flight. Oh and then he texts me, he says
- 39:06bro harm is not damaged, a lifter came and lifted my car
- 39:11out of the ditch and I'm on my way.
- 39:12I'm on my way back to the apartments and even texting that
- 39:17and I never got back in the car with him again.
- 39:18So this is a few lessons I learned out of this situation
- 39:21where one When they say, hey, it'll get in the car with
- 39:26Drinkers and smokers. I looked at the situation and
- 39:31thought, well, he he's an individual that functions with
- 39:35this, even though I told him not to, but he's an individual that
- 39:37functions with this. So I should be okay.
- 39:40That was a bad choice. I probably should have spent the
- 39:43money necessary to get me there safe.
- 39:46And hey, that was the first time I my life was something
- 39:49Supernatural happened and I couldn't explain that.
- 39:51I made it out of the situation unscarred and it was so
- 39:55interesting because I have so much time to think about it
- 39:57because then I had a Leo. So that was on my mind entire
- 40:01time and I said, hey that has to be something greater that I have
- 40:04to do. If I survive this, there's
- 40:06normally, I don't think I do survive this.
- 40:08That was an idiotic Choice by me to try to save a couple of
- 40:12dollars. When I could have done the more
- 40:16smart thing. So, as a Believer, I understand
- 40:20that. When you put yourself in
- 40:21compromising positions, there's no way of telling how they're
- 40:24going to come. So moving forward, if I know
- 40:27that the situation isn't safe, Then I shouldn't take the gamble
- 40:32in order to save a couple dollars, but instead I need to
- 40:35be Des Mart believer in knowing that hey he can do whatever he
- 40:40wants to do in his private time. Many you enter his space and
- 40:44he's under influence Min somehow, whatever happens to
- 40:48him, it's gonna happen to you and your byproduct of that
- 40:51because you chose to put yourself in that.
- 40:52Predicament, you have nobody else to blame, but yourself So
- 40:57so I learned out of that situation.
- 41:00So, I'm about to do the show on near-death experiences soon and
- 41:06I first of all, just thank you for sharing that really
- 41:08appreciate it. You said that your life kind of
- 41:15Flash before your eyes and I imagine it must have just been
- 41:17kind of an instantaneous type of thing.
- 41:20But was there anything you recall?
- 41:23Maybe that was just kind of out of sorts but different something
- 41:27that you have not experienced before.
- 41:30Anything else you could sort of share from that experience and
- 41:34how it kind of They changed your perspective, they're after yeah,
- 41:40so couple things at the time I was a virgin I'm still virgin.
- 41:46So in my mind, I'm like man you haven't had sex yet, you're
- 41:49going to die. So that wasn't great at the time
- 41:52when I was like I didn't get to live.
- 41:54Like I think that's cut off another thing that I realized
- 41:59is, you know, I this was my first experience.
- 42:03You know, traveling and being On the plane outside, the United
- 42:08States, right? 3 hours difference from New York
- 42:13to California, you know, I was just getting, you know, used to
- 42:17living on my own, right? So I was embarking on this
- 42:20journey where things that you dreamed about or that you
- 42:23couldn't wait to experience with things that I was saying to
- 42:27myself. Like, I'm getting the hang of it
- 42:29at the time, you know, I applied for food stamps.
- 42:31Oh man, it was the life man. I was getting a hundred ninety
- 42:33five dollars a week. Have free access to buy whatever
- 42:37it is that I want. This was like, you know, an
- 42:40experience of independency that I didn't have right and you
- 42:45know, just having that experience and going through
- 42:48that it was something that I was learning to get the hang of
- 42:51managing money on your own, buying things that allow you to
- 42:56extend your meals instead of just going out and free, buying
- 43:00anything that you need. Anything that you want.
- 43:03I was learning, you know how to do this.
- 43:05Replacements for Preparation and stuff.
- 43:08A lot of these things I was learning to do on my own
- 43:11managing understanding that I gotta let you feel that I have
- 43:14to pee. I was sharing, you know, room
- 43:17with well, an apartment with two other people.
- 43:20So we were sharing the fridge and stuff.
- 43:21So a lot of these things that I was going through, or, like,
- 43:25examples of what I know is going to be expected of me when you
- 43:29enter the real world. And this is not just under the
- 43:31compliance of college experience.
- 43:34But to me, this Just like my real life cause experience
- 43:37before. I actually went back to
- 43:40University at Albany was the Scrolls and was about three
- 43:43hours away. So, you know, having to go
- 43:46through these different things and that flash before my eyes, I
- 43:49started looking at my life and I started talking about, hey, I'm
- 43:52starting to dive into these things.
- 43:54Now that I didn't think. That I actually was going to do
- 43:59and this is around the age of 21 to 23.
- 44:04I believe that time I was like now be humming an adult and in
- 44:11that moment in that flash I was saying to myself, man.
- 44:15I even get to 30 I even get Teddy that like given the
- 44:20opportunity I'm saying to myself man, this is this is where you
- 44:24start to really find out who you are as A person and what you
- 44:28like, and what you wanted, dad, you know what they say?
- 44:30You go to college for these experiences because this is your
- 44:33first time away from your family and now you find out who you are
- 44:38and what you want to be in. Like so all that stuff Flash
- 44:41before my eyes, because it would have been a tragic moment for me
- 44:45if I didn't get to experience any of those things.
- 44:48So when I think about it yeah that was the big concern for me
- 44:52and that moment in the one opportunity I had to make a
- 44:55smart decision. I took a Gamble and almost cost
- 45:00me my life. When you look at it like that.
- 45:06Yeah, at least sometimes I wonder, I was walking along as I
- 45:12was recently in London and it's not anyway, the same thing, but
- 45:17sometimes I think about these things, like there was an option
- 45:20to go left or right to different escalators.
- 45:25I chose to go to the right one, and I always wonder, like, what
- 45:28would happen if you'd go to the left one.
- 45:30Well, I get a second quicker to this when I bump into someone,
- 45:33maybe that turns into somebody. I mean, your mind just wanders.
- 45:35And you think about these things, like, what if, what, if
- 45:38what if what if Yeah, it's kind of crazy.
- 45:44I mean, like I've heard of situations where, you know,
- 45:50People have maybe been late for a bus that they normally get and
- 45:56it just so happens that the bus that they were going to get
- 45:59crashed that morning and people died, you know, things like
- 46:01that. And it's like you wonder
- 46:02sometimes it is that Was that done on purpose to protect?
- 46:06You was it? A luck thing.
- 46:09Is it something bigger than what we understand?
- 46:11You know, this is crazy but I do believe what you were saying
- 46:16earlier about how these are the years that you find out, who you
- 46:19really are. Like, I've certainly had that
- 46:21the last couple of years especially now I fill up with
- 46:25this new sort of perspective, I have in life.
- 46:27It's like Now, the real tests are coming and it's Li all well,
- 46:31okay. I thought we were done with that
- 46:33but I guess that's never ending. Yeah, now I'm not scared
- 46:38anymore, which is, I suppose the point.
- 46:41Yeah, speaking of death, I just did a whole episode on the
- 46:46afterlife life after death, so I got to get your thoughts on the
- 46:52afterlife. Okay, so this is what
- 46:55generically just a basic, my basic understanding of death.
- 47:00What do you think is in the afterlife?
- 47:03Do you think there's an afterlife?
- 47:06Yeah, I think there's an Afterlife with God and I think
- 47:12interesting enough, you know, isn't episode?
- 47:14I did On my podcast, this is the matter is and and I spoke about,
- 47:21you know, this conversation, The Story of Lazarus but I don't
- 47:26want to dive too much just or I just want to kind of get to the
- 47:28point about it. And you know what, we look at
- 47:31funerals and we look at, you know, with that pass.
- 47:37For the Believers perspective, we have an understanding that
- 47:40Joy happens because we believe that the person that lived like
- 47:45that they live, they are going to a place.
- 47:48Well, right now, we call it awaiting Place, actually it
- 47:51going through a place where they won't experience any pain and
- 47:55any sorrow and even sort of things and you know, people tend
- 48:00to celebrate The person. Purchase a life in that great
- 48:08celebrate a person's live. But I think there's also a
- 48:11celebration for the death as well.
- 48:13Because we know that if that person struggling It was
- 48:17something that was Elena there now free of that thing.
- 48:21So in regards to you know the emphasis and we'll replace it we
- 48:27appreciate and understand that for us in this world, you know,
- 48:30it's troubles. This problem issues that we
- 48:34don't technically belong here and at some point you know,
- 48:37going and passing to where we believe the ultimate would be
- 48:41part of the process. So for me.
- 48:43Yes. I do believe there's an
- 48:45afterlife. I actually I think that we're in
- 48:47preparation for the afterlife. Well, the things that we're
- 48:50learning now is going to be useful where we need to be
- 48:54right. And the reason why I believe
- 48:56that it's because to me in this life it's like you're constantly
- 49:00trying to be better and improve and for us is to be holy as he
- 49:06is Holy and holy for us to be set apart from the rest, right?
- 49:11And to me in order to reach the stage of Holiness, your Ali
- 49:16being faced with trial and situation to deal with.
- 49:20And when old father situations, come it goes to be consistent in
- 49:24the way that you respond. And to me that's what you're
- 49:29faced with all the time and like, that's exactly what life
- 49:32is all about. You're going through these
- 49:34things over and over again so that you can get to a point that
- 49:37your response become natural, right?
- 49:41And there's disbelief for the believer, that this stays that
- 49:46should go into your kind of rewiring The, for your
- 49:52reprogramming yourself on how you see things like we entered
- 49:56in the world being selfish, right?
- 49:58And I say that because babies when they enter the world, it's
- 50:02the tension and everything is on the Right.
- 50:05Feed me, change me, love me care for me.
- 50:11And as we grow up and get older, you start to realize that life
- 50:15is not centered around. You, it's also around others,
- 50:19it's loving others, and caring for others and being there for
- 50:21others and supporting other side of yourself, right?
- 50:25And at least for us, right? There's the two most important
- 50:29Commandments that we have is to love God.
- 50:31With all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and love your
- 50:33neighbor as yourself and reason why So important as it's because
- 50:37to love, God, allows God to love us and when he loves us and us
- 50:42through us that allows us to love others, right?
- 50:45So I think when we get to this point, when we are more fixated
- 50:49on ourselves, then we get the lack of accountability, we get
- 50:54the lack of concern for people and their well-being.
- 50:58And we get to a point where there it is in this, even the
- 51:00balance of kill of concern about what's going on.
- 51:04Outside of you. So we move from this
- 51:07selfishness, to the selfless action.
- 51:10When now everything that you're doing you're not just doing the
- 51:13benefit yourself but you're doing for others and we learn
- 51:15that through your process, right?
- 51:17That our parents are very selfless individuals, because
- 51:19they're concerned and be have care for you and want to see you
- 51:22grow mature and then they have to teach you how to share.
- 51:25Because again, when you're born everything that's happening, is
- 51:29in preparation to help elephant, put you into a place.
- 51:33Now that friend So so I sent it is all back to this
- 51:38understanding of death I believe none of us can escape it.
- 51:42I believe that's the best in all of us.
- 51:44The question becomes when it happens.
- 51:46And then ultimately what the after like looks like depending
- 51:50on who you speak to, it's a numerous amount of things.
- 51:52Some people think it's reincarnation.
- 51:55Some people believe that. Hey, you know, and it's like
- 51:57time I'm going to turn into a bird or the way that I live my
- 52:00life. You know, whatever that
- 52:02preparation is later on. It's preparing me to the next.
- 52:06So I think we all have this in common to some extent that you
- 52:11know the vision of the view that we have for the Everlasting the
- 52:15next life cast some sort of preparation for it.
- 52:19Now I know some people believe that, you know, you live your
- 52:21life in this particular way to the fullest and to your Lord
- 52:25that you have. And there's a scripture that
- 52:28says, you know, in the end what is it for one to gain a whole
- 52:34world? But right, and that's a deep
- 52:38verse. That's that's that's a deep
- 52:40restful. A lot of different reasons,
- 52:42right? But it speaks to, you know your
- 52:44time here on Earth how do you using it?
- 52:49How utilizing gifts talents and abilities, how you deal with
- 52:52situations and circumstances and you know, did you live like
- 52:58worthy or whatever you're calling was here?
- 53:01So you know that's just my thought that yes Yes, I believe
- 53:04there's an afterlife. I believe that this afterlife is
- 53:08hinged on a lot of the things that you do here and I think
- 53:12that at some point you know reflecting on all those
- 53:17different things, it's something that we have to do eventually at
- 53:20something the final questions for you.
- 53:22What is the best advice you've ever received?
- 53:29The quality of your thinking, can determine the quality of
- 53:32your life. So I believe that the way that
- 53:35you think And how you go about things can determine the axis
- 53:40and choices that file. All right, I believe in life.
- 53:44We live our lives and levels of you arriving stages and
- 53:47therefore there should be a competition try to compete with
- 53:50other people. I think you have to understand
- 53:53that in life you're going to approach and get to the next
- 53:57level based upon what's your personally dealing with.
- 54:01So if I think a certain way, right?
- 54:03It is passive Romans that tells me do not be conformed to the
- 54:07Past. As of this world but be
- 54:08transformed by the renewing of your mind.
- 54:10So one of my constantly, renewing my mind, was
- 54:12unconsciously renew my mind with things that I find ethically.
- 54:16At least in scripture to help me make better decisions and have
- 54:20better compensation. Know what I engage with people.
- 54:23And there's, you know, some sort of resistance for me, I think
- 54:26confrontation is necessary, right?
- 54:28We have a little competition there, I think that's necessary.
- 54:31And the reason why I think confrontation is important is
- 54:33because the end it guarantees a solution like we may not All
- 54:37along the lines the same way. But what I do think is that
- 54:41being able to understand a person creates more of a bridge
- 54:46that we may not agree but we can still come together, they could
- 54:49be compromised. So I know most people when they
- 54:52give a competition to get frustrated but conversation
- 54:54brings about a solution and for me, that's exactly, you know,
- 54:59what I live for what I appreciate and what I love doing
- 55:02being respectful of another person's beliefs and values and
- 55:06what's important to them. And I'm I'm pretty sure this
- 55:08going to be multiple things that we want.
- 55:10We fall in line with maybe the love it condition of the human
- 55:13person treating others as you want to be treated, you know,
- 55:17being respectful and honest and letting the person speak and I
- 55:20appreciate that. As you've done that for me,
- 55:22giving me the opportunity to respond.
- 55:23And then me listening to what you have to say.
- 55:27These are things that I think naturally when you the quality
- 55:31you thinking determines the quality of your life, engaging,
- 55:34any things are normal. And if you can And of them
- 55:38appropriately and properly and I think you can get something out
- 55:41of it. That's for sure.
- 55:44What's the biggest life lesson you've learned so far?
- 55:53Okay, well, the biggest slice a lesson I learned comes from the
- 55:57scripture. Galatians 6:9, it says, do not
- 56:00become weary in doing good for, you will reap a harvest, if you
- 56:03do not give up. So I've learned in life part of
- 56:08You know, looking for some sort of productive or going through
- 56:13an experience where it's a chaotic experience or a crisis
- 56:16experience, it's not giving up in the midst of it.
- 56:20And when you don't give up eventually, what's the matter
- 56:24work that you put in? Just like a plant, it goes
- 56:27through a stage, it's going to grow into something is going to
- 56:30Blossom something. And to me, that's based upon how
- 56:33much work you're willing to put into that something so Life is
- 56:38all about, you know, receiving blows and taking blows and
- 56:43giving them back. And sometimes it's going to be
- 56:46ugly, sometimes it's going to be smooth sailing.
- 56:48I think we like, we have storms where you caught up in it, but
- 56:53you continue along that path. Whether it's Faith or whether
- 56:57it's trusting yourself, whatever you believe, right?
- 57:00That eventually, it's going to get you to the other side or
- 57:03you're going to see some sort of productivity that comes out of
- 57:06it. And I think as human beings.
- 57:08As we grow mature, it's the same sort of experience and what a
- 57:11plan. So I've learned time is one of
- 57:16the is one of the biggest thing that comes to change and that
- 57:21change change is not an event, it's a process.
- 57:25So for me, whatever it might be, whatever I'm looking to achieve
- 57:29and be successful at You have to let that situation take its
- 57:34course and eventually you can look back at it and be proud
- 57:38that it was achieved and talk the ins and outs of what it took
- 57:42to get their stuff. Thank you for sharing final
- 57:47question for you. Do you have any upcoming
- 57:49projects or some final thoughts that you'd like to share with
- 57:51our listeners? Yeah.
- 57:53So you know, I'm coming projects is, you know, I really three
- 57:58different stairs on my back as one.
- 58:00It's just been me and my brother who it's interesting like to
- 58:03have a podcast to be doing what your brother?
- 58:06You know, a lot of people question, you know, how can you
- 58:08get along with your brother, do something to me it's for the
- 58:11great common good. And what you're hoping for
- 58:13Jesus, as I think, it's all and sometimes you have your rough
- 58:17patches but eventually, it's what you're trying to hopefully
- 58:20accomplish in the end of the day and Me part of the reason why I
- 58:25am where I am is because I search for truth.
- 58:28I had a hunger and desire. So if you're looking for truth
- 58:32to me, you need to walk down that path is a scripture and
- 58:37Matthew 7:7 and NLT says, ask and you shall receive seek and
- 58:42you will find knock. And the door will be open to
- 58:45you. Now, the NLT says keep on
- 58:48asking, keep on seeking people knocking that just illustrates
- 58:51this desire that If you really want it you really desire it.
- 58:56Then I think at some point. We draw near to God, God will
- 59:01draw near to you. So there's an expectation that
- 59:04if you seek to want to have value understanding information,
- 59:08true in order for that to happen, going down a path or
- 59:12journey to achieve that takes work and not given up his one of
- 59:18those elements. Just make sure that you're
- 59:21satisfied content with what you hopefully, discover whatever
- 59:25that may be for me. It was reading God's word for
- 59:28You know, I'm pretty sure there's numerous things and, and
- 59:31this being happening content and satisfied where you are in life,
- 59:35right? In content and satisfied with
- 59:38what you're doing and how you're helping other people, and how
- 59:40they benefit from it. And, you know, Aristotle said
- 59:44this beautiful thing. He said, at the intersection of
- 59:48Life, lies your gifts talents and your abilities, and Elijah
- 59:52purpose. However, you're talented at,
- 59:55whatever, you're good at whatever God has gifted you with
- 59:58Make sure that the world knows you're in print me, is having a
- 1:00:02podcast that if I die, people can always go to it.
- 1:00:07And it's something that I could do sin, the world that they can
- 1:00:09gravitate toward. And for you, I believe the same
- 1:00:12thing giving people like myself an opportunity and a platform to
- 1:00:15come and share the things. They might be, it might be
- 1:00:18counted as to what a person believes but I believe someone
- 1:00:21today who has heard this discussion as grass and
- 1:00:25appreciated that and more importantly.
- 1:00:28Last thing, I Say, is this a pass in Colossians instead?
- 1:00:31Let your speech be seasoned with salt that you know how you ought
- 1:00:35to answer people. So for me, so is Godly wisdom.
- 1:00:38Godly discernment out of judgment.
- 1:00:40But that speaks to the understanding that how I carry
- 1:00:43myself, how I talk to people how I communicate is very important.
- 1:00:48So, for me, you may not know, you may not know Jesus, but I
- 1:00:51hope that how I portrayed myself as an instrument of
- 1:00:54righteousness, rather than wickedness in this conversation
- 1:00:58as Someone closer to potentially be interested to want to learn
- 1:01:02more about that said. Billy with me, I think that's
- 1:01:05all that I can ever ask for and want to do for my side.
- 1:01:09Never like worthy what my calling is to help in point
- 1:01:13people, when Direction I don't save anybody by the way, at this
- 1:01:17point, you in the direction to where I think you can happen and
- 1:01:20that's all that I, that I haven't wanted to ever wanted
- 1:01:22it. Well, thank you very much for
- 1:01:26sharing for being on the show. It's been a pleasure.
- 1:01:28And yeah, I wish you all the best with the show and if he's

- 1:01:43available on all podcasts doing platforms whether that's Google
- 1:01:48Apple Amazon, Name it, it's available there, Spotify and my
- 1:01:54Instagram is, you know, trying to get used to being on
