- 0:04Speaker 1: A podcast called twenty five whist Stocking fun Ball and
- 0:08Speaker 1: they are were a whist so yet it's too bad?
- 0:11Speaker 1: But what did you expect? It's a podcast called twenty
- 0:15Speaker 1: five Whistles Twine blow it, there we go. That's always
- 0:23Speaker 1: just a little much, but we love it.
- 0:24Speaker 2: It's just man. When I was a lifeguard, I learned
- 0:26Speaker 2: how to whistle loudly.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Oh that's why you're so good at it. Proficient Blower
- 0:32Speaker 1: presented by DraftKings Fantasy Sports. Check out what DraftKings has
- 0:35Speaker 1: to offer this season with the code Bobby Sports. Because
- 0:37Speaker 1: life is more fun when you're in on the action DraftKings.
- 0:40Speaker 1: The crown is yours. Gambling problem called one hundred gambler
- 0:42Speaker 1: agent eligibility restricted to apply voider prohibited. See DraftKings dot
- 0:46Speaker 1: com for the tells. Got a couple questions for you guys.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Number one, which you think about Patrick Mahomes's dad bod picture?
- 0:53Speaker 1: I didn't see it. You haven't seen it? No, but
- 0:55Speaker 1: I bet he's ripped. So he isn't. Oh, so that's
- 0:58Speaker 1: the dad bod he looks.
- 1:00Speaker 3: You can kind of see it on the field, though,
- 1:02Speaker 3: What do you mean, like you could see a little
- 1:04Speaker 3: punche on him.
- 1:05Speaker 1: You can Yeah, I mean I guess I didn't expect
- 1:08Speaker 1: him to be ripped. And it also shows you to
- 1:10Speaker 1: be a good athlete, you don't have to be somebody
- 1:13Speaker 1: that's in the gym doing one hundred crunches every five seconds.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I mean, there are other quarterbacks. Look at Peyton, look
- 1:20Speaker 1: at Eli. I mean your boy Mac Jones in college.
- 1:25Speaker 3: You say, good quarterbacks.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah, so he's not a shredded That doesn't mean he's
- 1:29Speaker 1: not a great athlete. I think at times we are
- 1:32Speaker 1: often confused because there are a lot of great athletes
- 1:35Speaker 1: that are naturally shredded or part of that Venn diagram
- 1:39Speaker 1: of people that work out a lot also are better
- 1:43Speaker 1: at doing athletic things. This is bizarre, though, what he's
- 1:47Speaker 1: an elite athlete, Like, yeah, my point is you don't
- 1:50Speaker 1: have to have abs to be an elite athlete. I understand.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Like there's Luka Doncic too, Like he looks like he
- 1:54Speaker 2: ate twenty tacos before the go kitch yokitch, but yet
- 1:57Speaker 2: he moves really good. We saw a guy in the
- 1:59Speaker 2: night Indiana State. It looks soft dude, but.
- 2:02Speaker 1: He could move. Marcus Russell, one of the greatest quarterbacks
- 2:04Speaker 1: of all time.
- 2:05Speaker 2: So, I mean, it's just weird that you're an elite
- 2:07Speaker 2: athlete and you can really look like you're not eating
- 2:09Speaker 2: healthy or really working out every day.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I kind of love it because it normalizes it, not
- 2:14Speaker 1: even the normalizing of it. But he doesn't care. Well,
- 2:17Speaker 1: he's married kids, I yeah, right, he's rich. Yeah, he's
- 2:20Speaker 1: got everything. He's still he could still care because it's
- 2:23Speaker 1: an image thing. All that stuff is fine, but I mean,
- 2:27Speaker 1: your image matters to you, and his obviously does for
- 2:31Speaker 1: other reasons. But there's this picture of him just chill,
- 2:33Speaker 1: and it's just got to I mean, because we all
- 2:35Speaker 1: got that little pooch or not likely that though, Eddie,
- 2:39Speaker 1: yes you do.
- 2:39Speaker 2: No, no, you know what though I saw I saw
- 2:41Speaker 2: it right now, and that was like that looks like
- 2:43Speaker 2: my body, which is crazy.
- 2:44Speaker 1: But he is an elite athlete. Maybe you're more elite
- 2:48Speaker 1: than you think.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Then, oh man, did you see the video of Hugh
- 2:51Speaker 3: Check and McCaffrey out swinging the golf club on the
- 2:54Speaker 3: and they.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Had their shirts off. They're ripped, so from like fifty
- 2:59Speaker 1: yards away you could see it so genetically and they
- 3:02Speaker 1: work hard, but genetically like McCaffrey's grandfather I think at
- 3:05Speaker 1: one time it's the fastest man in the world. What
- 3:08Speaker 1: either as a grandfather or a great grandfather. His dad
- 3:11Speaker 1: Ed played for Shanahan's dad together and won a Super Bowl.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Ed McCaffrey wide receiver. Wow, like a white wide receiver,
- 3:17Speaker 1: and it was even weird. Then you don't have Red McCaffrey.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I don't McCaffrey, do you. Yeah, Broncos Yeah, yeah, he
- 3:24Speaker 1: has a brother too, right, so he has people that
- 3:27Speaker 1: are playing He was playing it right now, he's playing
- 3:29Speaker 1: wide receiver. He was playing quarterback all his family. His
- 3:32Speaker 1: mom was like, at it is, that's crazy genetically, but
- 3:38Speaker 1: it still takes hard work as well. But I mean
- 3:41Speaker 1: when hard work meets genetics like that, that's when you
- 3:44Speaker 1: get that ultimate athlete. Yeah.
- 3:47Speaker 3: McCaffrey's grandfather, former world record holder at one hundred meter
- 3:51Speaker 3: in the nineteen sixty Olympics, silver medalist.
- 3:54Speaker 1: That's legit. It's a silver medalist. So he wasn't the fastest.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Well that doesn't, no, No, you can. You can lose
- 3:59Speaker 1: the Olympics but also have set a time in like
- 4:02Speaker 1: a world a different record. Yeah. Yeah, And I'm not
- 4:05Speaker 1: even sure that's it, but I'm just saying, logically, you
- 4:07Speaker 1: can be the fastest man ever and only win a silver.
- 4:09Speaker 2: You think there's still pressure though, on you for like
- 4:12Speaker 2: being in that family, and pressure for.
- 4:14Speaker 1: You to be good at whatever you're doing. I don't
- 4:16Speaker 1: know if there's pressure, because it's so natural that there
- 4:18Speaker 1: are such good athletes that maybe the pressure is to
- 4:21Speaker 1: pursue not to be good, because you could be burned
- 4:25Speaker 1: out by all of it. If all your family's doing
- 4:27Speaker 1: sports all the time and all you want to do
- 4:29Speaker 1: is dance that happens man, right, or work on cars? Yeah,
- 4:36Speaker 1: or so, I don't think the pressure is to be good.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I think the pressure, if there is, is to be
- 4:42Speaker 1: like the rest of the family and do what the
- 4:43Speaker 1: family does. It's like military families. There's probably pressure to
- 4:46Speaker 1: be in the military if your grandpa and your dad
- 4:49Speaker 1: or police officer, yeah, Lieutenant Dan. So the pressure isn't
- 4:52Speaker 1: to go and be the greatest military man. It's probably
- 4:56Speaker 1: just to be in the military and everybody else but
- 5:00Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes normalize it because listen, the Chiefs are becoming
- 5:03Speaker 1: a team that people are starting to root against because
- 5:05Speaker 1: of Travis Kelcey and Taylor Swift, which I'm so pro
- 5:09Speaker 1: tailor now because everybody's hating on him, so I'll just
- 5:11Speaker 1: go the opposite. It's hilarious.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I love it, even even Kelsey though. Don't you feel
- 5:17Speaker 3: like he's I mean, he's not ripped. It doesn't look
- 5:18Speaker 3: like it.
- 5:19Speaker 1: No, he's so big though, well, like Gronk is big,
- 5:22Speaker 1: but Gronk is ripped? Is he absh like? I feel
- 5:26Speaker 1: like George Kittle probably is an ad man, and I
- 5:29Speaker 1: feel like George KITT's probably the best tight end in
- 5:31Speaker 1: the NFL, the best over Kelsey. Yeah, wow, hot ta
- 5:36Speaker 1: hot take. I don't think it's that hot. I think
- 5:38Speaker 1: all around blocking catching. I mean he has Kelsey, has
- 5:42Speaker 1: my homes and has better numbers, but I think Kittle
- 5:45Speaker 1: is probably the best. I just think this the Kittle's
- 5:48Speaker 1: probably the better tight end. If I had to pick
- 5:50Speaker 1: one on my team to have, I think I would
- 5:52Speaker 1: take Kittle because he also is able to be an
- 5:54Speaker 1: offensive lineman. You see him pancake Hutchinson, I did see
- 5:57Speaker 1: him hard pancake too, Yeah, hard pancake. I love a
- 6:01Speaker 1: hard pancake. What I have a hard pancake? Okay, chocolate
- 6:05Speaker 1: chips the Broncos. Maybe you want to trade up for
- 6:10Speaker 1: Kayleb Williams, Oh, really, listen. There's a lot of stuff
- 6:14Speaker 1: that happens during the draft, the pre draft where people
- 6:16Speaker 1: also put rumors out to try to sink people. But
- 6:19Speaker 1: the Broncos have the twelfth pick overall, and Sean Payton
- 6:22Speaker 1: says he really would love to have that top quarterback
- 6:24Speaker 1: on the board, and if not that one of the
- 6:25Speaker 1: top quarterbacks on the board. I don't know that the
- 6:27Speaker 1: Bears are going to trade out of that unless somebody
- 6:30Speaker 1: gives them an offer they can't refuse because they do
- 6:33Speaker 1: have fields, and if they gave them such an offer,
- 6:36Speaker 1: they couldn't refuse. They could go, well, we do have fields,
- 6:38Speaker 1: and we were already thinking about it even though weren't
- 6:40Speaker 1: going to do it. I just can't see them trading
- 6:42Speaker 1: out of that one spot. Mm hmm. But that's from
- 6:45Speaker 1: sports kid.
- 6:46Speaker 2: You you guys like keeping track of all this stuff
- 6:48Speaker 2: back and forth of like, oh, they're saying that they're
- 6:51Speaker 2: looking for this guy.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I don't know if I like keeping track of and
- 6:53Speaker 1: I read it because it's what I do.
- 6:55Speaker 3: At first, Yeah, but like by the time April Rulls run, it's.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Like, all right, so I should figure out I'm gonna
- 7:00Speaker 1: cash out in my kan City chief super Bowl bets
- 7:02Speaker 1: because now it's none of two? Or do I cash
- 7:05Speaker 1: out some of them?
- 7:06Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 7:06Speaker 1: How many do you have? I can get to it
- 7:07Speaker 1: in a minute. Let's do the tittle tattle his name
- 7:11Speaker 1: ever the tittle tattle Let's camp.
- 7:17Speaker 3: After three of the four teams and the CFP lost
- 7:20Speaker 3: their head coach this year, which one do you think
- 7:22Speaker 3: has the best shot to get back to make the
- 7:24Speaker 3: final four?
- 7:25Speaker 1: So you're saying a new coach on one of the
- 7:27Speaker 1: teams that were in the final four the championship there, Yes, Well,
- 7:31Speaker 1: the Alabama situation is interesting because the boor is an
- 7:34Speaker 1: awesome coach, but they lost a bunch of players and
- 7:37Speaker 1: we still have to wait till the portal opens back
- 7:38Speaker 1: up and they can get players now, because that's gonna happen,
- 7:41Speaker 1: Like Alabama's gonna get some legit players when the portal
- 7:44Speaker 1: opens up again like spring. So that Alabama team right now,
- 7:50Speaker 1: I don't think are loaded for another championship, but I
- 7:53Speaker 1: think they could be. So I'm gonna push that off.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Jetfish in Washington. Jeedfish came from Arizona. Arizona had they
- 8:03Speaker 1: had a good year. They had a much better year
- 8:05Speaker 1: than anticipated. Jetfish is a good coach. Washington not the
- 8:09Speaker 1: program that Alabama is, probably will have a little more
- 8:12Speaker 1: trouble in getting big portal players. I don't I think
- 8:16Speaker 1: it's gonna be Michigan and showing Moore because he that
- 8:19Speaker 1: staff is all it's still in plate place. Yeah, the
- 8:22Speaker 1: player that's at least the most consistent, I don't think
- 8:25Speaker 1: he's the coach I would want. Is probably in order
- 8:28Speaker 1: for the number two of the three.
- 8:30Speaker 5: Who's one kill?
- 8:32Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I Canada Bor. I'd give a left neuter
- 8:34Speaker 1: to have him. He's awesome, And people are like, I
- 8:37Speaker 1: don't know if Alabama's gonna be well, yeah, he's along
- 8:39Speaker 1: the greatest college coach of all time saving but he's awesome.
- 8:43Speaker 1: So I would probably go for next year Michigan. I
- 8:45Speaker 1: think they'll be loaded up and ready to go, and
- 8:48Speaker 1: a lot of continuity there with that staff.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Okay, next one here, as Tom Brady is set to
- 8:52Speaker 3: replace Greg Olsen in this booth next year, do you
- 8:54Speaker 3: think Fox is making the right call.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I think they're making the right call, and I think
- 8:58Speaker 1: that it sucks because Greg Golson's awesome, But you just
- 9:03Speaker 1: can't turn Tom Brady down. Even if he's not that
- 9:06Speaker 1: good in the booth, he'll get better. And he's also
- 9:08Speaker 1: way famous and he's gonna make news for other things,
- 9:11Speaker 1: then draws back attention to him. He also is doing football.
- 9:15Speaker 1: You just can't. It's like if Michael Jordan was gonna
- 9:17Speaker 1: call basketball games and he sucks, you still want to
- 9:18Speaker 1: get Michael Jordan call your games. Sure, so at least
- 9:21Speaker 1: give it a shot. Greg Golson's awesome, he's the best.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Is he done done? No? Okay, he's going somewhere else. Well,
- 9:27Speaker 1: the thing I was listening to him on Dan Patrick
- 9:29Speaker 1: and he's like, I still want to call big games.
- 9:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna look at my options. So Brady's got a
- 9:33Speaker 1: ten year, three hundred and seventy five million dollar deal,
- 9:36Speaker 1: basically thirty seven million bucks a year, and so Olsen
- 9:40Speaker 1: could either go to the booth or coach. But he's
- 9:43Speaker 1: so good in the booth and came up organically. Was
- 9:47Speaker 1: just an athlete who was gonna do some you know,
- 9:50Speaker 1: uh color. And he's good looking, so it kind of
- 9:53Speaker 1: like made sense. Yeah, he's fine looking. You know, he's
- 9:56Speaker 1: good looking. I mean I don't look I mean, I
- 9:58Speaker 1: don't get a Boner, But I mean I look at it,
- 9:59Speaker 1: I don't either. I don't neither. If you just look
- 10:02Speaker 1: at the guy and you're like, that's not but Tom
- 10:04Speaker 1: Brady's replacing him, so yeah, yeah different. Exactly what's wrong
- 10:10Speaker 1: with you today? Man, Greg Olsen? Is he's gonna do
- 10:13Speaker 1: well wherever you go.
- 10:13Speaker 5: I want to see him somewhere.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Somebody else w take him and make him their number
- 10:16Speaker 1: one game. Do you think Brady's gonna be good?
- 10:17Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 10:18Speaker 1: Eventually. Yeah.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Did you see him making his rounds the other day
- 10:20Speaker 3: and he's like on the Macafie show Colin Coward talking football?
- 10:24Speaker 1: Dude, I mean you can't help but just to be
- 10:26Speaker 1: in awe of no.
- 10:26Speaker 6: You're all because you know, I'm not kidding.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I had friends. He's gonna be great, all right? With
- 10:35Speaker 1: the Super Bowl in Vegas?
- 10:36Speaker 3: What are the odds someone gets in trouble for gambling
- 10:38Speaker 3: on a scale of one to five five being a lock.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna say two. Now here's the thing. If you're
- 10:45Speaker 1: on the two teams, you can't even walk into casino.
- 10:48Speaker 1: That's why they have him thirty minutes off the trip.
- 10:50Speaker 1: If you're playing for Kansas City or on the staff,
- 10:52Speaker 1: if you're playing for San Francisco and you can't go
- 10:53Speaker 1: You can't even go to casino. Bro, you go to
- 10:55Speaker 1: a comedian store in Vegas and they have a slot,
- 10:57Speaker 1: I hear you. But that's that's not how you go
- 10:59Speaker 1: down if you're a player. That's not how you go
- 11:02Speaker 1: at the airport. Man, But that's not how you go
- 11:04Speaker 1: down as a player. And also private airport. No, there
- 11:06Speaker 1: are no slot machines, not one. No, you've been with me, yeah, yeah,
- 11:13Speaker 1: it's like free food. The other thing is, if you're
- 11:16Speaker 1: in the NFL at all, you can't go in the
- 11:19Speaker 1: sports book until the Super Bowl is over. So you
- 11:21Speaker 1: can gamble, but you can't go on a sports book
- 11:23Speaker 1: at all. So is there a chance somebody gets trouble
- 11:25Speaker 1: with Yes, well it'd be one of the two teams. No,
- 11:28Speaker 1: because it's so obvious that could be a problem that
- 11:30Speaker 1: it won't be a problem. Now, will they get busted
- 11:32Speaker 1: with a hooker? Maybe Vegas? All right?
- 11:36Speaker 3: All right, last one with Ben Johnson's saying in Detroit,
- 11:39Speaker 3: do you think the Lines will be a top four
- 11:40Speaker 3: team in the NFC next year?
- 11:41Speaker 1: Yeah? And I was surprised he stayed, but the word
- 11:44Speaker 1: was he was asking for a lot of money because
- 11:46Speaker 1: he wanted to stay and if someone met his money
- 11:48Speaker 1: then he'd have to make a tough decision. But the
- 11:50Speaker 1: Lion's ranked first in yards per game and then fourth
- 11:53Speaker 1: and points per game. He's obvious. For two years in
- 11:55Speaker 1: a row, he's been like he's gonna be a head coach.
- 11:58Speaker 1: So other than like Josh Reynolds, who dropped the ball.
- 12:03Speaker 1: People like given Dan Campbell such a hard time, But
- 12:05Speaker 1: Josh Renolds dropped a ball. Oh yeah, So.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Even the last fourth down or second to last one,
- 12:11Speaker 3: when they were step ten or whatever it was, it
- 12:13Speaker 3: was still a decent throw fourth and three, I think
- 12:16Speaker 3: he dropped it.
- 12:18Speaker 1: So I think they'll be really good again next year.
- 12:20Speaker 1: All right, that's the Tittle Tattle. The Tittle Tattle twenty
- 12:27Speaker 1: five whistles presented by Draft Kings sports book and official

- 12:39Speaker 1: These are so hard. No, no, no, I've been looking,
- 12:43Speaker 1: Come on, bones, I'm going on money lines here though,
- 12:46Speaker 1: Celtics over the Lakers money Kevin, please let him talk, Kevin,
- 12:52Speaker 1: let me talk the Jazz over the Sixers money line
- 12:56Speaker 1: and be still out. No, he's in. It's game to game.
- 12:59Speaker 1: It's like who up against because he heard. But if
- 13:01Speaker 1: he misses like four more games, he can't be in
- 13:03Speaker 1: the MVP race. No. Four or five depending on what
- 13:05Speaker 1: it is. Now. Oh, he's the best player.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:07Speaker 1: And then that Pacers and Knicks that line is Nick's
- 13:10Speaker 1: are our favorite by three. But you know what, I'm
- 13:12Speaker 1: a big Pacers guy. Even though we had to pull
- 13:14Speaker 1: our episode of the Pacers, I'm going Pacers money line
- 13:17Speaker 1: over the Knicks. Man Pacers with let's go Pacers money
- 13:20Speaker 1: line over next even though they're underdog. So we got
- 13:23Speaker 1: all money line Celtics, Pacers, Jazz collector Smiles's say, I

- 13:54Speaker 2: you see this where you can do a four game
- 13:56Speaker 2: parlay and if you hit all four you in the
- 14:00Speaker 2: big one, like the Big Parlay Prize whatever. But if
- 14:02Speaker 2: you get one, if you miss one out of the four,
- 14:05Speaker 2: you still get your money back.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Is it like Underdog?
- 14:09Speaker 7: No?
- 14:09Speaker 1: No, no, it's just how it was.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Sorry, I just got some breaking news, break news, breaking news, Eddie,
- 14:17Speaker 3: your guy.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. He is leaving to the commanders.
- 14:20Speaker 5: Yep.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Wow, that sucks with the commanders. Wait what it sucks
- 14:25Speaker 1: with the commanders? And for Dallas? Just why? Oh? It
- 14:28Speaker 1: is in a great defensive cordat of Dallas. I just
- 14:30Speaker 1: don't think he's that defensive head coaches not the thing
- 14:35Speaker 1: right now? Oh you're talking about as a head coach.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Five super Bowls have all been offensive. Look at this year,
- 14:39Speaker 1: two offensive guys. Good for him. He'll bring some stability there.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I like him. I'm at him some time with him,
- 14:45Speaker 1: really yeah, but I don't like that's tough.
- 14:48Speaker 2: And for the Cowboys side of it, man, just watching
- 14:50Speaker 2: that defense go from the top defense to not really
- 14:52Speaker 2: good towards breaking news.
- 14:54Speaker 1: The new defensive coordinator is read what come on? Okay,
- 15:00Speaker 1: make that work?
- 15:01Speaker 5: Go hey.
- 15:03Speaker 1: He's like, guys tonight, wetcolate patience. You're down forty too,
- 15:10Speaker 1: and have patience to make a good play. We're not
- 15:12Speaker 1: watching game tonight. It's the easiest sit down with the
- 15:16Speaker 1: pacer center Myles Turner. Miles. We love this guy. Oh,
- 15:19Speaker 1: he's awesome. We went for too much access, can't watch
- 15:21Speaker 1: it because the NBA made us pull it down. Hopefully
- 15:23Speaker 1: it gets to go back up soon. But he's a former
- 15:24Speaker 1: first round pick, the longest tenured pacer on the current roster.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Here he is Miles Turner. Miles, we were with the
- 15:32Speaker 1: game last night as a fun one, like, yeah, yeah,
- 15:35Speaker 1: it was crazy, it was awesome. It was it was
- 15:37Speaker 1: a Monday night and I was surprised that the place
- 15:39Speaker 1: was so packed out on a Monday.
- 15:42Speaker 6: The Celtics good club and.
- 15:45Speaker 1: You guys were playing a man down for a lot
- 15:46Speaker 1: of the game because Haliburton went down with injury and
- 15:49Speaker 1: you guys still like play tough. Scrappy was last night?
- 15:53Speaker 1: Do you feel like it was a scrap of your game?
- 15:54Speaker 1: Then normally because you guys had to uh a little
- 15:56Speaker 1: bit adapt to like one of your main guys being out.
- 15:59Speaker 5: Yeah, any time a man goes down where you have
- 16:01Speaker 5: to find a way to you know, rally together and whatnot.
- 16:03Speaker 5: We just kept telling ourselves if we can make it
- 16:05Speaker 5: the halftime, and they got hurt, like three minutes left
- 16:07Speaker 5: going to half, we can just make it to halftime.
- 16:08Speaker 5: We were to regroup and get where we need to be.
- 16:10Speaker 5: But man, you said it, Man, just for a Monday,
- 16:12Speaker 5: that type of environment just to you know, playing the
- 16:14Speaker 5: Celtics like it felt like a playoff time environment and
- 16:16Speaker 5: you know, in the middle of the season and whatnot.
- 16:18Speaker 5: And you know, the city's really embraced us just as
- 16:20Speaker 5: a team and just as an organization. Had like a
- 16:22Speaker 5: whole bunch of sellouts this year. I mean I've been
- 16:24Speaker 5: here my entire career, and this is the most I've
- 16:26Speaker 5: seen like the fieldhouse, like you know, like jumping in
- 16:28Speaker 5: live like this. So it's a perfect time to be
- 16:30Speaker 5: a pass.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Fan being a Texas guy. What is Indianapolis like when
- 16:34Speaker 1: you first moved here? What was the slight culture difference is? Well,
- 16:38Speaker 1: it's cold.
- 16:38Speaker 6: I just say that is cold.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. So, but like, what was the big difference
- 16:44Speaker 1: you moved here, you've been here the whole time.
- 16:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean a big thing being from Texas. You know,
- 16:47Speaker 5: we were kind of just talking about before. Everybody loves
- 16:48Speaker 5: football in Texas. Texas is all football at the time.
- 16:51Speaker 5: It's like a different religion out there. You know, you
- 16:53Speaker 5: come here, it's a flips it's all basketball. People love
- 16:56Speaker 5: their basketball out here. And that was a you know,
- 16:58Speaker 5: being a hoop and whatnot and grow up in that
- 16:59Speaker 5: football culture, being a would be embraced like that from
- 17:01Speaker 5: the jump out here. I mean you go to high
- 17:03Speaker 5: school games and it's packed out, like you know, like
- 17:05Speaker 5: if you're come to one of our games and whatnot.
- 17:08Speaker 5: Being embraced in that coach was huge for me and
- 17:09Speaker 5: it made me love it like right away. And yeah, man,
- 17:12Speaker 5: it's just a great hoop state.
- 17:13Speaker 1: You know what's interesting is Texas because you went to
- 17:15Speaker 1: UT Texas and what we love in Tennessee. So UT
- 17:18Speaker 1: is Texas to us, But then they're all saying utol Tennessee.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Yeah, like I feel like UT is Texas.
- 17:25Speaker 1: But so you went to UT and Texas known mostly
- 17:28Speaker 1: as a football school. So even when you're you know,
- 17:31Speaker 1: a freshman and like you're that dude. Still that's a
- 17:34Speaker 1: football college for the most part, but coming to a
- 17:36Speaker 1: place where they basketball, is there a one that's got
- 17:39Speaker 1: to be really refreshing.
- 17:39Speaker 5: Bro. It was awesome because I mean you just you
- 17:41Speaker 5: almost feel like the little brother on campus in a sense,
- 17:43Speaker 5: like you know, you're big, bro, clearly seven feet tall
- 17:46Speaker 5: overround campus, but you're a little bro when it came
- 17:47Speaker 5: to like just the history and the culture of you
- 17:49Speaker 5: know what it was being down south but now coming
- 17:52Speaker 5: here to the Midwest, and you know, even just traveling, Bro,
- 17:55Speaker 5: you'll see Pacers fans just like random like in La
- 17:57Speaker 5: or just like you know, even when we go to
- 17:59Speaker 5: like even home in Texas or whatnot. Like that is
- 18:01Speaker 5: something that I wasn't really like accustomed to and whatnot.
- 18:04Speaker 5: And just like I said, it's all about culture, man,
- 18:06Speaker 5: It's just it's just real. It's a real thing.
- 18:08Speaker 1: I can take off my glasses and people won't come
- 18:11Speaker 1: up to me at an airport or out in public
- 18:14Speaker 1: because I don't look like I look when people see me. Right,
- 18:17Speaker 1: that's this is probably the most recognizable thing about me
- 18:18Speaker 1: in my glasses.
- 18:19Speaker 6: However, you cannot be.
- 18:20Speaker 5: Shorter no, not at all. Man specified by the way,
- 18:23Speaker 5: I love the specs appreciate that. Yeah, but uh no,
- 18:26Speaker 5: I it was a running joke me and my boys.
- 18:27Speaker 5: I used to think all the time, I can throw
- 18:29Speaker 5: in a hoodie and then no one everything I never know,
- 18:32Speaker 5: you know what I mean, and you know you know
- 18:34Speaker 5: it's going to target or it's going like just to
- 18:36Speaker 5: I don't know, Pump the gas wouldnot think I'm throwing
- 18:38Speaker 5: a hoodie. I'll be cool, but it's like, nah, but
- 18:39Speaker 5: you can't hide seven feet like no matter how much
- 18:41Speaker 5: you try to, like duck and dodge. But I just
- 18:43Speaker 5: embraced it, man, I just I try to be a
- 18:44Speaker 5: man of the people of one. I'm going out to
- 18:46Speaker 5: try to respect, you know, just the fans and whatnot.
- 18:48Speaker 5: And it's a mutual respect. That's another good thing around
- 18:50Speaker 5: the city. No one really just like bothers. You bothers.
- 18:52Speaker 5: You you know, maybe a picture here and there, but no
- 18:53Speaker 5: one's really just in your face all the time. But
- 18:55Speaker 5: then they got respect for you know what we do.
- 18:57Speaker 5: You know, embrace like Caro Lina.
- 18:58Speaker 6: Work Eddie's five eleven.
- 19:01Speaker 1: He claims to be.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Six six foot, so I mean you're listed at.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Six eleven and a half. Why not cheat that extra
- 19:07Speaker 1: half inch?
- 19:08Speaker 5: Bro, It's even crazier. If I go to the doctor,
- 19:10Speaker 5: I got to measure I'm six eleven three quarters.
- 19:14Speaker 4: You know.
- 19:15Speaker 5: For the longest time, I was just saying it kind
- 19:18Speaker 5: of depends on how I feel. And the people ask
- 19:19Speaker 5: me one day they're going on six eleven today, like
- 19:20Speaker 5: you know what seven foot kind of day? Yeah, you know,
- 19:22Speaker 5: I'm seven foot. It just kind of depends on how
- 19:23Speaker 5: I'm feeling that day. But I don't know. Just you know,
- 19:26Speaker 5: the the NBA really cracked down on the whole like
- 19:28Speaker 5: height thing a couple of years ago. So I've been
- 19:30Speaker 5: stuck at six eleven three quarters long?
- 19:32Speaker 6: Is that with your shoes on?
- 19:33Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 19:33Speaker 5: With shoes on it six ten and three quarters out?
- 19:36Speaker 5: You can't win.
- 19:37Speaker 6: Can't you put on thicker shoes?
- 19:38Speaker 5: Yeah, if I really wanted to.
- 19:40Speaker 6: But the same cheat is, oh.
- 19:41Speaker 2: For sure, heels bones comes in heel well, So, like
- 19:46Speaker 2: you know, we do a lot of us want to
- 19:48Speaker 2: be taller, you know, like we think it's so cool
- 19:50Speaker 2: to be tall, Like, what what's it like to be
- 19:52Speaker 2: seven foot?
- 19:53Speaker 5: Bro's off in the world. Definitely a different view on life.
- 19:55Speaker 5: I mean, it has up and downs. I've you know,
- 19:57Speaker 5: a couple of years ago, I had a listic because
- 20:00Speaker 5: I was on my phone and I wasn't paying attention.
- 20:02Speaker 5: I smacked my head on a doorway like to the
- 20:05Speaker 5: point where I'm like, I'm kind of down on the ground, like,
- 20:06Speaker 5: oh god, So I was out for like a week
- 20:08Speaker 5: and a half, so really, oh you know, I was out,
- 20:10Speaker 5: bro Like it was a straight cushion, saw white flash
- 20:12Speaker 5: and everything. So that part of it sucks. But now
- 20:15Speaker 5: it's different respectable of life. I mean, you get to
- 20:17Speaker 5: just do things other people can't do and red stuff
- 20:19Speaker 5: on the top cabin and stuff like that, and you
- 20:21Speaker 5: can get the good cereal.
- 20:22Speaker 6: Yeah, for sure, good cereal.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Is What about airplanes though, Like you.
- 20:27Speaker 6: Are like a mini Cooper? Ever gotten one of those?
- 20:29Speaker 1: No?
- 20:29Speaker 5: I never struck. Cars are definitely struggle. But I've driven
- 20:32Speaker 5: trucks like my entire life a big pickup truck guy.
- 20:34Speaker 5: But airplanes, like if I don't have an x RO
- 20:36Speaker 5: or a first class seat, I can't fly like whatsoever,
- 20:38Speaker 5: Like either my my feets are gonna be up like
- 20:40Speaker 5: like this or the person next to me just gonna
- 20:42Speaker 5: get it, Like I don't know.
- 20:44Speaker 1: When did that happen for you. When did you grow
- 20:45Speaker 1: the most and did it did it hurt because it
- 20:47Speaker 1: wasn't so fast?
- 20:48Speaker 5: Yeah, man, I was probably my biggest grow spurt. Well, honestly,
- 20:52Speaker 5: it was my feet. I went from a size fourteen
- 20:54Speaker 5: to eighteen in a matter of like two and a
- 20:55Speaker 5: half weeks. Bro eighteen eighteen.
- 20:58Speaker 6: I'm just kidding, I'm not.
- 21:00Speaker 5: I went eighteen since I was like fifteen years old, man,
- 21:03Speaker 5: and couldn't really get shoes and stuff when I was younger.
- 21:06Speaker 5: But the hype part knees and knees in my back
- 21:08Speaker 5: always ached. But I grew from six four to about
- 21:12Speaker 5: six eight six.
- 21:13Speaker 6: ' nine old fifteen.
- 21:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I went from my first I was probably like, yeah,
- 21:17Speaker 5: it was my freshman year, so I was fifteen years
- 21:19Speaker 5: old going into my sophomore year. Then after that, I
- 21:21Speaker 5: progressively grew an inch every year, So I six eleven
- 21:23Speaker 5: in high school.
- 21:24Speaker 1: If you're fifteen and you're six three or six four whatever,
- 21:26Speaker 1: you said, that's that's large even for that. Yeah, So
- 21:29Speaker 1: were you did you have ball handling skills at fifteen sixteen?
- 21:32Speaker 1: Because you know, you've seen a lot of the big
- 21:33Speaker 1: guys now they come up with ball handling skills.
- 21:38Speaker 5: It was a big credit to my dad. I didn't
- 21:39Speaker 5: want to. I wanted to just be a straight post player.
- 21:41Speaker 5: I wanted to just have my jump hook and drop
- 21:43Speaker 5: steps up and unders and all that stuff. But he
- 21:45Speaker 5: made me stay after every practice and work on my
- 21:47Speaker 5: jump shot and my ball handling. And you know, I
- 21:49Speaker 5: thought it was stupid. I was like, I don't need
- 21:51Speaker 5: to do this. I'm tall at everybody because I'm telling
- 21:53Speaker 5: you's gonna be a day we're you're gonna have to
- 21:55Speaker 5: be able to do everything. And then literally, I've seen
- 21:57Speaker 5: the NBA shift from my rookie year to now, Like
- 21:59Speaker 5: you said, everybody has to be able to do everything,
- 22:01Speaker 5: and you know, big credit enough to him for that.
- 22:04Speaker 1: One of my friends plays for Oklahoma City and when
- 22:06Speaker 1: he played college ball, he was six nine sixty ten
- 22:09Speaker 1: listed around there and he was, you know, U four
- 22:11Speaker 1: for the most part, occasionally played you know, just a
- 22:14Speaker 1: straight post. But now that he's in the league, he
- 22:18Speaker 1: has to play more of a three at times. He
- 22:19Speaker 1: has to shoot outside a lot more. So he's had
- 22:21Speaker 1: to develop that part of his game a whole lot more.
- 22:24Speaker 1: But he's shooting like thirty five percent from three. But
- 22:26Speaker 1: he didn't shoot a lot of it in college because
- 22:27Speaker 1: he didn't need to shoot a lot of it in college.
- 22:29Speaker 1: So when you were in high school in college, were
- 22:31Speaker 1: you still taking lots of mid range outside shots or
- 22:35Speaker 1: were they like, now you're the best here, we're gonna
- 22:37Speaker 1: went with you inside, Like what were you able to do?
- 22:39Speaker 5: So high school? You know you're pretty much the man,
- 22:41Speaker 5: right your big manal campas over the hell you want
- 22:43Speaker 5: to do? I was shooting threes. I was doing whatever,
- 22:45Speaker 5: like you know, I was pulling up court like just
- 22:47Speaker 5: go whatever I wanted to do. When you get to
- 22:50Speaker 5: college was a little different. I was very highly tired
- 22:52Speaker 5: of recruit but I came into more of a system
- 22:54Speaker 5: and I didn't shoot a lot of threes in college,
- 22:55Speaker 5: like maybe maybe twelve fifteen threes. I probably Barber Show
- 22:59Speaker 5: on the year, couldn't. Yeah, I I've definitely had the capability,
- 23:03Speaker 5: but I didn't put it like on display as much
- 23:05Speaker 5: as I would have liked to. And even my rookie year,
- 23:08Speaker 5: I didn't really shoot a lot of threes. Then as
- 23:09Speaker 5: I started working and working and realizing where the game
- 23:12Speaker 5: was coming to, it was all threes and layups, no
- 23:14Speaker 5: longer mid range or whatnot. So I was able to,
- 23:16Speaker 5: you know, get my percentages up. But I've spent a
- 23:18Speaker 5: lot of time working on my threes in the summertime,
- 23:20Speaker 5: and obviously, you know, shoot threes in this day.
- 23:23Speaker 2: You're kind of a veteran around here, like you've been
- 23:25Speaker 2: with Indie your entire career. Like you said, do you
- 23:28Speaker 2: when rookies come in or the younger guys come in,
- 23:31Speaker 2: do you kind of kind of talk to them a
- 23:33Speaker 2: little bit about money and life a little bit since
- 23:35Speaker 2: you kind of know what to do with that.
- 23:37Speaker 1: In the NBA.
- 23:39Speaker 5: Yeah, it's an extent. I mean, I think there's a
- 23:40Speaker 5: big curve you have to figure out, like on your own,
- 23:42Speaker 5: you can really have someone take something that's in the face.
- 23:45Speaker 5: Until you actually go through this yourself, or go through
- 23:47Speaker 5: the trials relation yourself, you're not gonna fully be able
- 23:49Speaker 5: to appreciate or understand this. So if I see, you know,
- 23:51Speaker 5: a rook ono splurgeon or going crazy, it might be like, hey, man,
- 23:54Speaker 5: like you know, let's let's think let's take a long
- 23:56Speaker 5: term here. But for the most part, it's not really
- 23:58Speaker 5: like that, Like you have a locker room for like
- 24:00Speaker 5: this younger generation is like a lot smarter and whatnot.
- 24:03Speaker 5: They have more and more stuff. You have people on TikTok.
- 24:05Speaker 5: They can show you how to manage your money now,
- 24:06Speaker 5: Like it's just it's a little different. But being the
- 24:09Speaker 5: big brother figure is more is important than anything because
- 24:11Speaker 5: it's a long ruling season. Man, Like you play eighty
- 24:13Speaker 5: two games, play four or five times a week. That's
- 24:15Speaker 5: the part where Rooks probably like struggle the most is
- 24:18Speaker 5: just trying to figure out what to eat, how they're
- 24:20Speaker 5: how to get their bodies right, how to maintain their sleep,
- 24:22Speaker 5: you know, waking up on the road and I know
- 24:24Speaker 5: what city you're in. Like that little stuff is the
- 24:25Speaker 5: stuff they need more help with.
- 24:26Speaker 1: That was so do you think that with the current
- 24:28Speaker 1: environment college basketball where players are now able to make
- 24:30Speaker 1: some money with nil that that actually warms it up
- 24:34Speaker 1: to get to the NBA because they're going from no
- 24:36Speaker 1: money or to actually a lot of money, especially if
- 24:39Speaker 1: they're you know, a first round draft pick, Like that's
- 24:42Speaker 1: got to help a bit. You've already got an agent
- 24:44Speaker 1: sort of and you're making some money. So maybe even
- 24:47Speaker 1: before you draft a kid, you can kind of see
- 24:50Speaker 1: what he's doing in that part of his life as well. Wow.
- 24:52Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a great way of looking at it. I
- 24:53Speaker 5: just think that the biggest goal for a lot of
- 24:55Speaker 5: us is you know, you know, putting our parents, putting
- 24:58Speaker 5: our families in better positions or whatnot. So I think
- 25:00Speaker 5: think the NIL is obviously a great thing to have
- 25:02Speaker 5: the introductory phase to it, but I think a lot
- 25:04Speaker 5: of that money at that time probably go back to
- 25:06Speaker 5: your family, Whereas when you get to the league and
- 25:08Speaker 5: you start actually you know, making money for yourself, like
- 25:11Speaker 5: you start doing more stuff for yourself, like I don't
- 25:13Speaker 5: know whether it's like starting starting your four one K
- 25:15Speaker 5: right away or I don't know, Like my first person
- 25:17Speaker 5: was like a social my pickup truckle and that was
- 25:19Speaker 5: a big thing for me, like something I always wanted.
- 25:21Speaker 5: So it definitely helps the inductory phase. If gms are
- 25:24Speaker 5: looking at spending, habits and all that type of stuff
- 25:26Speaker 5: from there, it might be a little too like you know, micromanaged,
- 25:29Speaker 5: but it is definitely a good like gauge you know,
- 25:32Speaker 5: to you know, come into this level of a set.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I try to stay somewhat fit, and I've had a
- 25:37Speaker 1: couple of TV shows where I've had to be fit
- 25:38Speaker 1: for the show, like climbing stuff, or living in the
- 25:41Speaker 1: wilderness that kind of crap. But I just now started
- 25:44Speaker 1: to really focus on stretching. Even in the past, like
- 25:47Speaker 1: I couldn't go down to my shins, but now I
- 25:49Speaker 1: can go almost palms almost palms to the floor. Never
- 25:51Speaker 1: been able to do that? How important? And when did
- 25:54Speaker 1: you kind of embrace that? I won't say next level,
- 25:57Speaker 1: but I used to just run, run and lift, run
- 25:59Speaker 1: and left get better at the skill. But until I
- 26:01Speaker 1: started doing like stretching, like I now feel like I
- 26:03Speaker 1: can do things better simply because of the stretching and
- 26:06Speaker 1: like that Tier two.
- 26:06Speaker 5: Exercise, Bro' it's huge for us because the biggest thing
- 26:10Speaker 5: about stretch is injured prevention. When those tissues are like
- 26:12Speaker 5: long and able to like just to your elongate your
- 26:15Speaker 5: tisus and your muscles and whatnot, you're saving yourself. Make
- 26:18Speaker 5: maybe five six years in your career. For me personally,
- 26:21Speaker 5: I started doing yoga like a lot, maybe like my
- 26:23Speaker 5: second and third year, but I was doing yoga more
- 26:25Speaker 5: for like just what you say, like the stretching and
- 26:27Speaker 5: the aspect of things. And I really started doing yoga
- 26:29Speaker 5: for like the mental aspect of things, the meditation, just
- 26:31Speaker 5: the actual escape from reality and whatnot. Like that part
- 26:34Speaker 5: of it was huge for me. But being able to
- 26:36Speaker 5: be limber, especially how tall you know I am and whatnot,
- 26:38Speaker 5: is huge, you know for what I do. So big
- 26:41Speaker 5: ups to you for even able.
- 26:43Speaker 4: To Actually.
- 26:46Speaker 1: It's like to late. It's too late, but like maybe
- 26:48Speaker 1: I can like get through or four extra years of life.
- 26:50Speaker 1: You know, you're trying to get a few more in
- 26:51Speaker 1: the league. I'm trying to get a few more in the
- 26:52Speaker 1: big league, the big the big League, the big league
- 26:56Speaker 1: of life. Last night, we're watching you play, and you're
- 27:01Speaker 1: always working Like That's how I would describe it, Like
- 27:05Speaker 1: it didn't matter if the ball was with you or not.
- 27:07Speaker 6: We were watching.
- 27:08Speaker 1: We were watching you last night, and you just always
- 27:10Speaker 1: working in the paint, getting out, getting back in. Sometimes
- 27:13Speaker 1: are you just like give me the freaking ball looking
- 27:15Speaker 1: on me? Cause like like mouse in the house last
- 27:19Speaker 1: night a couple of times and I was like, get.
- 27:20Speaker 5: In the ball. Yeah, man, we're not gonna we're not
- 27:22Speaker 5: gonna go too into that. But uh, you know one
- 27:25Speaker 5: thing I've had to learn, you know, being in my
- 27:27Speaker 5: position is you know, early in my career, I would
- 27:29Speaker 5: just stand still. I would either just be standing in
- 27:31Speaker 5: the corner or to stand on the block, just like
- 27:33Speaker 5: waiting for something to happen at the point of the recorder.
- 27:35Speaker 5: Now we are trying to make stuff happen where I'm
- 27:37Speaker 5: setting a flare screen, whether I'm trying to like run
- 27:39Speaker 5: up and cut or get this guy open to get
- 27:42Speaker 5: myself a chance. Like yeah, when you have smaller guys
- 27:45Speaker 5: on you, you're constant thinking look, look, look, look. But
- 27:46Speaker 5: then your guards are always looking at a whole bunch
- 27:48Speaker 5: of different things like how do I score? How do
- 27:50Speaker 5: I get everybody else involved? So it's just a you
- 27:53Speaker 5: have to be a whoe machine, you know, doing things
- 27:55Speaker 5: the right way. But a lot of that for me
- 27:57Speaker 5: is just being demonstrative and being like yo, we're yelling
- 27:59Speaker 5: or cussing some Yeah, like yo, I need the ball.
- 28:01Speaker 5: But like you're right, I'm very active, you know. I
- 28:03Speaker 5: try to never stand still because now I'm doing myself
- 28:06Speaker 5: and my team at the service.
- 28:07Speaker 2: My final five questions Miles, as a big you're guarding
- 28:11Speaker 2: the paint and these little guy comes in, does a
- 28:13Speaker 2: euro on you? Is it frustrating when you're just like,
- 28:16Speaker 2: come on, dude, those I saw three steps like.
- 28:18Speaker 6: I saw that.
- 28:20Speaker 5: Unfortunately, it's the NBA man, and traveling is something that
- 28:24Speaker 5: is just uh, you know, they're they It's very rare
- 28:28Speaker 5: that they call it. It has to be so obvious.
- 28:31Speaker 5: But like guys get away with a lot of stuff
- 28:32Speaker 5: in this league and whatnot, and you know, I just
- 28:35Speaker 5: I'm passive, like the part of frustration. It's just like
- 28:37Speaker 5: damn either I'm just gonna finuld We're gonna block it,
- 28:39Speaker 5: like I'm not give travel.
- 28:42Speaker 6: This program. I like the Pacers. The Pacers feel like
- 28:46Speaker 6: they care.
- 28:46Speaker 1: I don't know why I feel like that, but the
- 28:48Speaker 1: Pacers feel like it's an organization that like cares about
- 28:51Speaker 1: their players.
- 28:52Speaker 6: Why do I feel like that?
- 28:54Speaker 5: Because you're seeing it. Man, I think that we've developed
- 28:57Speaker 5: such an amazing culture here. It's not like this everywhere.
- 29:00Speaker 5: I mean, I've only been here, so I'm biased, of course,
- 29:02Speaker 5: but I hear from other free agent other players that
- 29:04Speaker 5: you know, just taking care of something simplest. Take care
- 29:07Speaker 5: of players family like when they come in here and
- 29:08Speaker 5: making sure they're good, Like they go to the extra
- 29:10Speaker 5: mile to make sure. You know, friends and family, you know,
- 29:13Speaker 5: wife's daughters, all that like are fine even if it's
- 29:16Speaker 5: our off day, like we need I don't know bringing
- 29:18Speaker 5: someone to wash our cars or something like that, Like
- 29:20Speaker 5: it's very first class service like everything you do here,
- 29:22Speaker 5: you know, especially Nindy. Like I said, I'm not exactly
- 29:25Speaker 5: sure what it's like everywhere else, but I know that
- 29:27Speaker 5: is not as good as it is here. You know,
- 29:29Speaker 5: So who is.
- 29:31Speaker 1: If you see you're matched up with blank, You're like,
- 29:34Speaker 1: oh man, this is gonna be a because they just
- 29:36Speaker 1: go like it's gonna be a tough night.
- 29:38Speaker 5: There's a couple, man, I mean the guys like you know,
- 29:40Speaker 5: like Jok and Denver, he's his imprint on the game
- 29:42Speaker 5: is everything he can do. More than a score he
- 29:44Speaker 5: can score, he can facilitate. I mean, he's about three
- 29:47Speaker 5: hundred pounds, Like it's a lot to deal with whatnot.
- 29:49Speaker 5: And Be's the same way. I mean, there's guys like
- 29:53Speaker 5: even the Kit in Houston, like Sengoon, like he's someone
- 29:55Speaker 5: who's very mobile and whatnot. There's a lot of active bigs,
- 29:59Speaker 5: you know nowadays it's not just guys that are you know,
- 30:01Speaker 5: blocking shots and rebounding and facilitating. Like there's a lot
- 30:04Speaker 5: more to the game though.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Who's who's your want? Like if I see this, I
- 30:07Speaker 1: know it's gonna be a long night for me, or
- 30:08Speaker 1: at least a hard night, like you go sweat a
- 30:09Speaker 1: little more.
- 30:11Speaker 5: I can't let them know, all.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Right, I see that, Myles. I hate Legos, Dude, Like really,
- 30:17Speaker 1: I tell you why I hate them.
- 30:18Speaker 2: I'll tell you why I hate them because I have
- 30:19Speaker 2: four kids and every time I try to get to
- 30:22Speaker 2: the kitchen and step, I want to step and it's
- 30:24Speaker 2: gonna piss me off.
- 30:25Speaker 4: And I hate them.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Okay, what do you love so much about them?
- 30:30Speaker 5: Well, I'm not a father yet, so I haven't I
- 30:33Speaker 5: guess experienced that notion of it. But my biggest thing, Bro,
- 30:37Speaker 5: it is just such an escape for me because like
- 30:39Speaker 5: I think I have a very like I'm not diagnosed,
- 30:42Speaker 5: but the ADHD thing, and like the super like I
- 30:44Speaker 5: have to be doing like three or four things at
- 30:45Speaker 5: one time. That's really helped call me down with that.
- 30:48Speaker 5: Like whenever I have a hard day or a hard
- 30:51Speaker 5: game or something like that, I don't do anything basketball.
- 30:53Speaker 5: I shut all that out. Like I don't get on Twitter,
- 30:55Speaker 5: I don't nothing. I go there and I just build,
- 30:57Speaker 5: bro and I can be in there for hours, and
- 30:59Speaker 5: whether I'm I'm just doing an actual like set or
- 31:02Speaker 5: just free building, it whatnot. It takes my mind off
- 31:04Speaker 5: of everything and people, you know, my people that live
- 31:06Speaker 5: we know not to bother me. Just like I'm just
- 31:07Speaker 5: in my space with my zone. And then obviously you
- 31:09Speaker 5: know I've put out a lot of you know, my
- 31:11Speaker 5: content with my work and whatnot, and something that's takes
- 31:13Speaker 5: a lot of pride in, you know.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Draw and paint because you're like an artist.
- 31:16Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, no exactly. I like to view myself. I
- 31:18Speaker 5: mean even just stuff I do in the court and
- 31:20Speaker 5: it's like a pri product of my art. But I
- 31:22Speaker 5: could draw a little bit. I mean I tried to
- 31:23Speaker 5: paint a little bit. No no grand you know artists
- 31:28Speaker 5: or whatnot. But when it comes to the painting and stuff,
- 31:31Speaker 5: but yeah, I can express myself pretty well.
- 31:33Speaker 2: When you build a piece, is it together forever and
- 31:37Speaker 2: you do it?
- 31:38Speaker 5: That's a big lego sin never glued to legos together.
- 31:40Speaker 5: I mean if you're like a I don't know, you're
- 31:43Speaker 5: at a museum or something like that and you're doing
- 31:44Speaker 5: like some auction off work, then maybe, but like the
- 31:47Speaker 5: glue just makes everything a mess and it's like impossible,
- 31:49Speaker 5: like just to you mess up, like you screwed.
- 31:52Speaker 1: You know what. I mean, I was just glue together
- 31:54Speaker 1: and I got them work. My excuse is why I
- 31:57Speaker 1: can't do it all?
- 31:58Speaker 5: Right?
- 31:59Speaker 6: Final question.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Basketball a big part of your life, obviously, but not
- 32:02Speaker 1: the most important part of your life.
- 32:04Speaker 6: At what point did you.
- 32:05Speaker 4: Realize that.
- 32:07Speaker 1: You're not basketball? Basketball is not you. It's what you do,
- 32:10Speaker 1: but it's not all of you. What age did you
- 32:11Speaker 1: finally realize that and then what is important to you?
- 32:15Speaker 5: Yeah? Man, I think a couple of years ago, so
- 32:18Speaker 5: maybe like my fourth to fifth year in the league,
- 32:21Speaker 5: the biggest goal was to get to the NBA so
- 32:23Speaker 5: you can make a lot of money and be famous
- 32:25Speaker 5: and this is and that, like that's how people viewed
- 32:27Speaker 5: and whatnot. The fame is not all it's cracked up
- 32:29Speaker 5: to be. The money. I mean, it's if anybody you
- 32:32Speaker 5: know hears that and they say, oh, money isn't everything,
- 32:34Speaker 5: It isn't. It helps a lot. It helps. The travel
- 32:37Speaker 5: helps you know, you know, provide a lifestyle for you
- 32:40Speaker 5: and your loved ones. But it's not the only thing.
- 32:42Speaker 5: With this, bro, I've just really realized that, like love
- 32:44Speaker 5: is everything for me, whether it's like the love I
- 32:46Speaker 5: received from my family, the love that I give out
- 32:48Speaker 5: back to my people of our community. Like that's the
- 32:50Speaker 5: only real thing I really believe in this world, you
- 32:52Speaker 5: know what I mean, other than my faith, you know,
- 32:54Speaker 5: on the higher calling. But like like just truly just
- 32:56Speaker 5: love man. And I don't want to get too like
- 32:59Speaker 5: you know, touching on that, but like it's just one
- 33:01Speaker 5: of the things that it's one of the things I've
- 33:03Speaker 5: experienced over the past couple of years that I think
- 33:05Speaker 5: is real. And the money and stuff that's going to
- 33:07Speaker 5: fade eventually, the fame, people are gonna forget who you are. Eventually,
- 33:10Speaker 5: like the next next wave of Miles Turners, the basketbll
- 33:13Speaker 5: players are coming in every single year. Like all that
- 33:15Speaker 5: stuff is cool. It's very surface level. So I mean
- 33:17Speaker 5: just just my loved ones, my peoples, and just what
- 33:20Speaker 5: I provide is both things are the most important for me.
- 33:23Speaker 1: We appreciate the time you spent with us. It's like
- 33:25Speaker 1: you're known as like the dude that people love around here.
- 33:29Speaker 1: We were walking even walking through here and it was like,
- 33:31Speaker 1: Miles wishes you a happy day.
- 33:32Speaker 6: There's like a sign of you out there with.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Like wishing and we appreciated that. We appreciate it. Like
- 33:36Speaker 1: he there's the ice skating drink from miles. I'm like,
- 33:39Speaker 1: you got your run for mayor of this town. But
- 33:41Speaker 1: it's like and this is the last, last, last question,
- 33:44Speaker 1: but it's like and being around you, you're so warm
- 33:46Speaker 1: and welcoming, like as soon as we walked in. But
- 33:48Speaker 1: on the court, I don't it's a different It looks
- 33:50Speaker 1: like a different person. Is it a switch or is
- 33:52Speaker 1: it a gradual? Like how do you get there?
- 33:53Speaker 5: It's kind of a trip persona. I guess. I feel
- 33:55Speaker 5: like when you get in between them lines, you're taught
- 33:56Speaker 5: as a kid, like you mean, fresh, friendly as you
- 33:58Speaker 5: want to have all the friends the world. These lines
- 34:00Speaker 5: you got to change your mindset, like completely, Like you
- 34:02Speaker 5: know you're going to war basically, you know you don't
- 34:04Speaker 5: want to be the friendly one going to war and whatnot.
- 34:06Speaker 5: You know you'll get you know, you get taken advantage of.
- 34:08Speaker 5: But when I'm out there, I have to put our
- 34:10Speaker 5: different persona. I have to be the face and the
- 34:12Speaker 5: guys to my team, you know, to be able to
- 34:14Speaker 5: U just look on and be able to embrace as well.
- 34:17Speaker 5: But when I'm off the floor, I'm gonna be me
- 34:18Speaker 5: bro like the six of his basketball or whatever. It's
- 34:20Speaker 5: my job.
- 34:20Speaker 6: You know what I mean, like, give them the ball,
- 34:23Speaker 6: mouse in the house, Give them the ball. I'm saying
- 34:25Speaker 6: it right now. First, what I kept yelling last night.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Mouse in the house and they couldn't hear you. They
- 34:30Speaker 1: couldn't know.
- 34:31Speaker 6: I really appreciate your time, absolutely, indeed, thanks Miles.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Miles is awesome. Also, PACER's assistant coach, General Parker ran
- 34:43Speaker 1: Us do some drills. We got to hang out with
- 34:44Speaker 1: him for a little bit. For me, I didn't ask
- 34:47Speaker 1: for this. I just got very fortunate because he's also
- 34:49Speaker 1: an Arkansas legend as far as basketball. And I was
- 34:51Speaker 1: proud of you for being cool about I wasn't that cool,
- 34:53Speaker 1: but thank you. His third season with the Pacers as
- 34:56Speaker 1: assistant coach, we had some drills with them. He's super
- 34:58Speaker 1: cool coach for the time.
- 35:00Speaker 6: I gotta tell you, I.
- 35:01Speaker 4: See this right there, well, Pig Sue.
- 35:05Speaker 1: He's trying to be cool like you were, like you
- 35:08Speaker 1: were like my dude, like you Brandon Dean like when
- 35:13Speaker 1: we got.
- 35:13Speaker 4: Here, said you're gonna geek out.
- 35:15Speaker 1: I know, I know, but they were like, you're gonna
- 35:17Speaker 1: talk to Pargo And I was like real, like I
- 35:19Speaker 1: gotta be cool, and they were like, no, you don't
- 35:21Speaker 1: have to be. But I was like, but I naturally am.
- 35:23Speaker 1: But I was come across half court. Just drill it,
- 35:27Speaker 1: just drill it, like I'm not even asking a question.
- 35:29Speaker 1: All I'm doing is going, do you know awesome you
- 35:31Speaker 1: were and how awesome you were? Like so just first
- 35:33Speaker 1: of all as a fan, like it's super cool to
- 35:35Speaker 1: feed to spend a few minutes.
- 35:36Speaker 6: I appreciate that.
- 35:36Speaker 8: Man, thanks for having me. I'm glad you're saying this
- 35:38Speaker 8: right now while Miles is here.
- 35:40Speaker 1: So I told him before. I told him before you
- 35:42Speaker 1: came in. I was like, man, I was. I was
- 35:44Speaker 1: a big fan cross half court. He's lethal as soon
- 35:47Speaker 1: as he crossed the line. Did you always have the
- 35:49Speaker 1: green light?
- 35:51Speaker 8: Even when I didn't have it, I had it. You know,
- 35:55Speaker 8: I'm a shot taker. I'm a tough shot maker. So
- 35:58Speaker 8: when I didn't have the green light, I just made
- 36:00Speaker 8: sure I made shots. And then the coach was like, well,
- 36:02Speaker 8: I guess you can shoot it.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Which which coach with your shooting coach? Which which coach
- 36:06Speaker 1: do you credit with giving you either the confidence to
- 36:09Speaker 1: take it to the next level or even maybe uh,
- 36:12Speaker 1: don't take as many bad shots.
- 36:15Speaker 8: You know what, I think it's just myself, you know,
- 36:18Speaker 8: just growing up playing a lot of basketball, you kind
- 36:21Speaker 8: of figure out who you are as a player. And
- 36:23Speaker 8: I figured out, maybe in high school that I was
- 36:27Speaker 8: a pretty good shooter, and you know, I'm an aggressive
- 36:32Speaker 8: basketball player and I take chances and uh, like I said,
- 36:36Speaker 8: at Arkansas, I was just I was able to make
- 36:38Speaker 8: a lot of shots, Uh, just across half court.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Transition to yeah, you remember I could walk through everyone.
- 36:46Speaker 6: Most of them. Uh.
- 36:48Speaker 1: So you play a bunch of years in the league,
- 36:50Speaker 1: at what point do you realize you think you want
- 36:52Speaker 1: to stay in the league to coach? Like when did
- 36:54Speaker 1: that hit you from a player when you're like, I
- 36:55Speaker 1: want to continue my career in basketball, but as a coach.
- 36:58Speaker 4: You know, it happened.
- 36:59Speaker 8: I would probably say two thousand and fourteen. I was
- 37:02Speaker 8: with the Charlotte Bobcats and we were playing the Boston
- 37:06Speaker 8: Celtics and Kimba Walker. We were getting killed with just
- 37:08Speaker 8: a pistol action and uh, you guys may not understand
- 37:11Speaker 8: what that is, but we don't. It's a It's a
- 37:16Speaker 8: simple action that every team runs, and we were getting
- 37:18Speaker 8: killed with it, and Kimball came to be like, yep,
- 37:20Speaker 8: JP like what do we do? And I was saying
- 37:22Speaker 8: I do this, do that, and do this and it
- 37:23Speaker 8: and it kind of worked and maybe maybe you coach
- 37:27Speaker 8: coach right there as a player, so tree rollers and
- 37:30Speaker 8: then then me player coach.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Did you know what you were telling them, coach or
- 37:33Speaker 2: were you just kind of try this?
- 37:35Speaker 4: No? No, I knew.
- 37:35Speaker 8: I knew what I was telling my I've been in
- 37:37Speaker 8: that situation before, Like I said, every team runs the
- 37:40Speaker 8: same action, we run it now. Uh, so it was
- 37:43Speaker 8: it was something that I seen before.
- 37:45Speaker 1: So what if pistol action?
- 37:46Speaker 8: Cause we don't know, just a simple pass ahead from
- 37:50Speaker 8: the one to the two and then then the one
- 37:52Speaker 8: flies off. Simple action. Yeah, it's a different language right now.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Then when you make it, that's when you run back.
- 38:01Speaker 1: That's my pencil action. You want to make a layup?
- 38:03Speaker 4: Not it?
- 38:04Speaker 1: All right?
- 38:04Speaker 7: All right?
- 38:04Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, we don't want to do that.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Not in today's good Last night, the game was pretty
- 38:11Speaker 1: intense the whole game.
- 38:12Speaker 5: We were at.
- 38:12Speaker 1: The game is a great win last night, But you guys,
- 38:14Speaker 1: how competitive are those games?
- 38:15Speaker 4: For real?
- 38:16Speaker 1: Uh?
- 38:17Speaker 6: Mid season?
- 38:17Speaker 1: You're getting close to the All Star break, Like, how
- 38:19Speaker 1: much are guys still in it?
- 38:21Speaker 4: Then our team is very much into it.
- 38:24Speaker 8: H Boston self is really good team, really good team,
- 38:28Speaker 8: and uh it's a team that we beat once before
- 38:31Speaker 8: and they beat us as well, so we wanted to
- 38:33Speaker 8: come out and make a statement. Uh they're in the
- 38:35Speaker 8: East Eastern Conference with us, So huge game, great win
- 38:40Speaker 8: for our team. Ty Reese is going down. We just
- 38:44Speaker 8: came together as a group and we got to.
- 38:46Speaker 6: Win final three.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Questions for you when you're coaching internationally, Cus Fall, I
- 38:50Speaker 1: mean I might have followed you, you know where you
- 38:52Speaker 1: went settled down. I know I'm been a huge fan
- 38:55Speaker 1: and still am. What is that culture change like for you?
- 39:00Speaker 1: As we were talking to Miles about going from you know,
- 39:01Speaker 1: Texas to India to Indiana, but you're going into another
- 39:04Speaker 1: country and you know, South America, Europe, Like do you
- 39:08Speaker 1: just get to live basketball or where's your favorite place
- 39:11Speaker 1: to live? And what was it like to live there?
- 39:13Speaker 4: Well? I lived in Russia for about six months.
- 39:15Speaker 1: That's crazy, Yes, this was cool.
- 39:17Speaker 6: That's crazy. You went cold. I'm going like, oh Communists
- 39:21Speaker 6: like just like yeah, wow.
- 39:24Speaker 8: Well in the basketball world is very small, right, So
- 39:27Speaker 8: I'm in Russia. I went out to a club and
- 39:30Speaker 8: I saw maybe ten fifteen guys that I know Russia's
- 39:34Speaker 8: like being in New York.
- 39:35Speaker 1: They really they will throw you in prison if they
- 39:38Speaker 1: feel like it.
- 39:39Speaker 4: Yeah, made you get a itch, follow the law.
- 39:42Speaker 6: Yeah, I hear you.
- 39:42Speaker 2: He's like one of those guys I having drug Vladimir
- 39:45Speaker 2: Putin coach. Coach, you're on the bench like sometimes you
- 39:50Speaker 2: got to you got a fan right behind you, or
- 39:52Speaker 2: like the fans are right there on.
- 39:54Speaker 4: You in the NBA.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Yeah, do you hear crap when you're on the road
- 39:57Speaker 2: all the time or do you like to turn around
- 39:58Speaker 2: and be like shut up or do you talk to
- 40:00Speaker 2: them at all?
- 40:01Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a look at these guys. Look at these
- 40:04Speaker 4: guys perking up. So you have myself.
- 40:07Speaker 8: I'm born and raised on the South side of Chicago,
- 40:09Speaker 8: and we have another coach, Moe Baker, who's from Saint Louis,
- 40:13Speaker 8: and so we hear. We hear every We hear everything, right,
- 40:16Speaker 8: and we kind of let these guys, the fans there, fanatics, right,
- 40:19Speaker 8: we let them talk. But when they start getting on
- 40:22Speaker 8: our players, Mo and I, we get defensive. And so
- 40:25Speaker 8: if we stand up, we turn around and say, hey, listen,
- 40:28Speaker 8: chill out. If you want to cheer for your team,
- 40:31Speaker 8: cheer for a black shot and may back that's that's fine,
- 40:34Speaker 8: But when you say eight miles you suck, We're not
- 40:37Speaker 8: having that.
- 40:38Speaker 4: So we kind of set them straight.
- 40:40Speaker 2: After because they are so close that they think they
- 40:44Speaker 2: can say whatever they want to someone that's five feet
- 40:47Speaker 2: away from.
- 40:48Speaker 4: Yeah, it's.
- 40:50Speaker 8: It's not fair because when players say stuff back to them, now,
- 40:53Speaker 8: it's it's an issue middle finger. All that kind of
- 40:56Speaker 8: stuff is it's not fair. So Mo and I kind
- 40:59Speaker 8: of take on the challenge of shutting those guys up.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Final question for you, just basketball in general, Like, what
- 41:06Speaker 1: has basketball provided.
- 41:07Speaker 4: You a great life?
- 41:12Speaker 8: Basketball in life is synonymous, right. It teaches you how
- 41:15Speaker 8: to uh sacrifice, how to work hard, and it's just
- 41:22Speaker 8: provided me, you know, a great life to take care
- 41:25Speaker 8: of my family, my friends, to travel.
- 41:30Speaker 4: It's a game that I love. I still love it
- 41:31Speaker 4: to this day.
- 41:34Speaker 8: Just being part of something that's bigger than just yourself, right,
- 41:37Speaker 8: So for me, being able to coach and being able
- 41:42Speaker 8: to help guys mouths and really the younger guys coming
- 41:46Speaker 8: into this league is everything for me.
- 41:48Speaker 1: We really appreciate the time. I don't know if I
- 41:50Speaker 1: mentioned this, but I'm a huge fan, all right. There
- 41:52Speaker 1: is coach.
- 41:53Speaker 4: Coach, appreciate it, thank you, thank you.
- 42:00Speaker 1: One other thing we got to do is work with
- 42:02Speaker 1: the sports performance coach, Andy Martin, and so we did
- 42:04Speaker 1: talk about a lot of things these athletes too. So
- 42:07Speaker 1: here he is talking about recovery, hydration, and then he
- 42:09Speaker 1: put us through a grueling workout which sucked. But here
- 42:11Speaker 1: he is Andy Martin of the Indiana Pacers. I was
- 42:14Speaker 1: talking to Miles in the last couple of years of
- 42:16Speaker 1: really embraced stretching, No, a couple of months, he's talking
- 42:19Speaker 1: about years. Mine's a couple of months. Like and I
- 42:22Speaker 1: was a decent athlete, but like a high school athlete, right,
- 42:24Speaker 1: but I could never get to my shins even stretching.
- 42:27Speaker 1: But I spent like the last two or three months,
- 42:29Speaker 1: fifteen minutes a day, three times a day stretching.
- 42:31Speaker 5: It's good.
- 42:31Speaker 7: It's never too late to start. It's gonna save you
- 42:33Speaker 7: a lot of aggregation on hundred.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Yeah, he's like, for you senior citizens. But I hear you.
- 42:41Speaker 6: Now I'm a little I'm hurt right now. That's okay,
- 42:43Speaker 6: that's a right, sorry, he said, it's good for you.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I hear And I was talking to Miles
- 42:47Speaker 1: and he was like, Hey, it's you know, awesome at
- 42:49Speaker 1: injury prevention. But I would think with a lot of
- 42:51Speaker 1: guys who are naturally athletic that their whole life they
- 42:54Speaker 1: have been the best athlete and probably haven't had to
- 42:56Speaker 1: go next level with the stretching or even the nutrition.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Like how much work do you have to do with
- 43:02Speaker 1: young athletes that teach them, Well, if you're not doing
- 43:04Speaker 1: it now, you're eventually going to do it, and this
- 43:05Speaker 1: is what we should do.
- 43:06Speaker 6: Yeah, that's a big part of it.
- 43:08Speaker 7: And that first point you made, like, these guys have
- 43:10Speaker 7: always been the best player on the court, every court
- 43:12Speaker 7: they've been on until they get to this level. Then
- 43:16Speaker 7: the issue with that is once they get to this level,
- 43:18Speaker 7: everybody's really good. So you have to have a certain
- 43:21Speaker 7: requisite level of talent to be able to make it
- 43:23Speaker 7: to the league. But then what separates guys from Okay,
- 43:26Speaker 7: I was in the league for a year or two,
- 43:28Speaker 7: or I had a really productive career, or you know
- 43:30Speaker 7: guys like Pargo who had a really long career. We're
- 43:34Speaker 7: in a lot of different places the dedication and the
- 43:37Speaker 7: work ethic and just the layering different levels of professionalism
- 43:42Speaker 7: into it in terms of how you take care of
- 43:44Speaker 7: your body, how you manage your sleep, What are your
- 43:47Speaker 7: nutrition habits? Are you stretching? Are you doing all this
- 43:49Speaker 7: port performance stuff that you know, we try to help
- 43:51Speaker 7: guys with and using all of those resources is what
- 43:55Speaker 7: really separates guys from being Okay, I was in the
- 43:57Speaker 7: league versus I was really successful league.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Oh I've been a hyperbaric chamber sometimes, but I don't
- 44:02Speaker 1: even know what that does?
- 44:03Speaker 6: What what does that do?
- 44:05Speaker 7: So a hyperbaric chamber basically just puts more oxygen into
- 44:09Speaker 7: your blood, which then helps your body do the normal
- 44:12Speaker 7: processes that it would do from a healing or generation standpoint.
- 44:15Speaker 7: It just sort of speeds up the process a little bit.
- 44:17Speaker 1: So it's for real, like that thing works. Oh yeah,
- 44:19Speaker 1: I mean I get in. I pay the money for it,
- 44:21Speaker 1: like one hundred and eight bucks in it for the hour.
- 44:23Speaker 7: It is expensive, but it's money well spent, especially if
- 44:25Speaker 7: you're really trying to you know, dial in you know,
- 44:28Speaker 7: like you said to stretching. Yeah, that's that's the same
- 44:32Speaker 7: type of stuff that we try and convince our guys
- 44:34Speaker 7: to do.
- 44:34Speaker 2: So as far as diet goes for some of these players,
- 44:37Speaker 2: do you have to kind of just trust that they
- 44:39Speaker 2: follow it, and they do that when they're not around you.
- 44:42Speaker 7: There is a certain level of trust that we try
- 44:44Speaker 7: to give to these guys. At the same time, there's
- 44:47Speaker 7: a certain level of education that we try and give
- 44:49Speaker 7: to them, because we aren't going to follow them around
- 44:52Speaker 7: twenty four hours a day and knock stuff out of
- 44:54Speaker 7: their hand. But what we try and emphasize is viewing
- 44:58Speaker 7: you know, and the nutrition and your nutrition have it's
- 45:00Speaker 7: as fueling like your your job is a professional athlete,
- 45:04Speaker 7: so the nutrition really is an important part of that.
- 45:07Speaker 7: And then kind of taking the guesswork out of it
- 45:09Speaker 7: for them. We try and provide as much you know,
- 45:11Speaker 7: high quality food as we can. We try and set
- 45:13Speaker 7: them up with chefs when they're here or to take
- 45:16Speaker 7: stuff with them on the road. So we try and
- 45:18Speaker 7: make it as easy and as not labor intensive for
- 45:21Speaker 7: them as we can. But like you said, at the
- 45:23Speaker 7: same time, at the end of the day, we're not
- 45:25Speaker 7: going to be around you know, the hour if they're
- 45:26Speaker 7: not in the building, so we do have to give
- 45:29Speaker 7: them an education in terms of what they need and
- 45:32Speaker 7: then trust that they're going to follow those steps.
- 45:34Speaker 1: All right, Final three questions. We've been to a few
- 45:37Speaker 1: places in our journeys where they have little pea containers
- 45:40Speaker 1: in the toilets and they always want to check and
- 45:42Speaker 1: see the pea color, and it's awesome. The hydration things, yeah,
- 45:45Speaker 1: but we don't turn them in.
- 45:46Speaker 2: No, no, no, we don't.
- 45:47Speaker 1: We just pain in love, of course, and then go
- 45:49Speaker 1: wonder what that means? What does that mean?
- 45:52Speaker 7: So those measure your you're in specific gravity, which is
- 45:56Speaker 7: basically just a way to see how well hydrated you are.
- 45:59Speaker 7: So the old adage used to be, you know, if
- 46:02Speaker 7: it was if it was dark, the darker yellow was
- 46:04Speaker 7: the less hydrated you.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Are, or mine's bloody a lot?
- 46:07Speaker 5: Is that good?
- 46:07Speaker 7: That's not great.
- 46:08Speaker 6: Okay, that's a completely the hyperdark.
- 46:11Speaker 7: It's not going to help you. Right, that's a different
- 46:13Speaker 7: would you see, that's a different problem ahead. But no.
- 46:16Speaker 7: So in general, that meter that goes in the urinals,
- 46:21Speaker 7: it will either give you that blinking red light, which
- 46:22Speaker 7: is bad you need to go hydrate immediately, flashing yellow,
- 46:25Speaker 7: which is where a lot of people stay, especially dur
- 46:27Speaker 7: in the morning. Okay, you need to do a little
- 46:29Speaker 7: bit of hydration. Green, you're fine, keep doing what you're doing.
- 46:32Speaker 7: So if you're green or yellow, that's where you're going
- 46:35Speaker 7: to be most of the day. Red is like, okay,
- 46:37Speaker 7: I need to go do something about this now. So
- 46:39Speaker 7: it lets us know if there's a situation that needs
- 46:42Speaker 7: to be addressed immediately.
- 46:43Speaker 1: So if our pie is completely clear though, that's hydrated,
- 46:46Speaker 1: that's great, really, But my piece Red two not good,
- 46:49Speaker 1: that's less great. How do you keep them on video
- 46:52Speaker 1: games all night? Well, that's a good one, because my
- 46:53Speaker 1: wife has trouble with me doing that. I got to
- 46:55Speaker 1: get up at three thirty in the morning to do
- 46:56Speaker 1: my radio show.
- 46:57Speaker 5: Great question.
- 46:57Speaker 7: I have no idea, absolutely no idea. If you play
- 47:01Speaker 7: video games all if we can figure out how to
- 47:02Speaker 7: do that, we'll win more games. But that's one of
- 47:05Speaker 7: the harder things to do with NBA.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Athletes, Like secretly set up an account is not yourself
- 47:10Speaker 1: and know their accounts and be like, hey, it's me Jimmy.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Is your name Miles? Then watch how long he's playing.
- 47:14Speaker 7: They figure that out immediately.
- 47:15Speaker 5: All right, All right, I.
- 47:16Speaker 2: Was gonna ask about soreness. Soreness Does it ever go
- 47:18Speaker 2: away for these guys or are they constantly.
- 47:20Speaker 7: Soar It's there's constantly a level of soreness inherently because
- 47:27Speaker 7: these guys are playing a sport that's kind of difficult
- 47:31Speaker 7: on their body.
- 47:31Speaker 5: It takes it.
- 47:32Speaker 7: I mean, you guys know just how much a toll
- 47:34Speaker 7: traveling takes on your body. So then adding in trying
- 47:37Speaker 7: to play, you know, twenty thirty thirty five minutes a game,
- 47:40Speaker 7: there's always going to be a level of soreness. It's
- 47:42Speaker 7: that accompanies that where we come in on the performance
- 47:46Speaker 7: staff and the athletic training staff is trying to manage
- 47:49Speaker 7: that soreness down to a level that they can still
- 47:52Speaker 7: be productive on the court. Very seldomly is a guy
- 47:57Speaker 7: ever not sore at all. But if we can get them, okay,
- 48:01Speaker 7: you went one step down the road of making yourself sore,
- 48:04Speaker 7: Can we bring you one step back and just keep
- 48:06Speaker 7: you in some sort of equilibrium or at least just
- 48:08Speaker 7: so they're not functionally limited when they go to play,
- 48:11Speaker 7: because this is their job and they're trying to go
- 48:13Speaker 7: out and produce and help our team win. They're trying
- 48:15Speaker 7: to feed their families. There's all this stuff that goes
- 48:17Speaker 7: into it. That soreness and managing that is really the
- 48:21Speaker 7: main part of our job.
- 48:23Speaker 1: We appreciate the time I need to drink water back
- 48:26Speaker 1: after this, let's wrap with the Super Bowl MVP odds.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Obviously the two quarterbacks are up first, which is Mahomes
- 48:35Speaker 1: and Perdy because the quarterback kind of wins that more
- 48:36Speaker 1: than easy thing.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Yeah, remember when Edam or James White had twelve catches
- 48:40Speaker 3: and Brady's still in.
- 48:41Speaker 1: It, that Shoba's baby, Christian McCaffrey three, Travis kelcey four,
- 48:46Speaker 1: and then they do what odd that will position in
- 48:48Speaker 1: the quarterback is like minus two sixty five. All that
- 48:51Speaker 1: from DraftKings. So you know, we'll talk a watch about
- 48:53Speaker 1: Super Bowl next week. Wanted to breaking news. Eddie lost
- 48:57Speaker 1: a defensive coordinator. Yeah, read on, now we take it over.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Can't wait. He's gonna be running a nine to one
- 49:02Speaker 1: one nine guys on the line, one linebacker and then
- 49:05Speaker 1: one guy back there. Just having patient, Just be patient.
- 49:08Speaker 1: What do I do, coach? Just be patient? Patient, be patient. Pati,
- 49:11Speaker 1: Hi you guys, Thank you very much. Go follow us
- 49:14Speaker 1: on social media at twenty five whistles. Hope you guys
- 49:17Speaker 1: have a good weekend and Eddie blow us out.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Yeah here we go, all right, buyey, Buddy's
- 49:26Speaker 1: The quickest whistles man.
