- Lucas: Luna, ready for another episode of Learn Italian with Fexingo? Luna: Always, Lucas! What are we learning today? Lucas: Since we recently talked about the park, let's build on that and learn some Italian phrases for outdoor activities. Luna: Perfect. I love being outside. So, what's the first phrase? Lucas: Let's start with 'fare una passeggiata' — it means 'to take a walk'. Say it with me: fare una passeggiata. Luna: Fare una passeggiata. Fare una passeggiata. That sounds lovely. Lucas: Exactly. Now, if you want to invite someone, you can say 'Vieni con me?' which means 'Are you coming with me?'. Luna: Vieni con me? So I could say 'Vieni con me? Facciamo una passeggiata?'. Lucas: That's perfect! 'Vieni con me? Facciamo una passeggiata?' — 'Are you coming with me? Let's take a walk?'. Luna: Oh, I love that. Let me try: Vieni con me? Facciamo una passeggiata? Lucas: Beautiful. Now, another common activity is 'andare in bici' — to ride a bike. Luna: Andare in bici. So I could say 'Oggi vado in bici al parco'? Lucas: Exactly! 'Today I'm going to the park by bike.' Great sentence. Luna: And if I want to say I'm going for a run? Lucas: That's 'andare a correre'. So 'Vado a correre al parco.' Luna: Andare a correre. Vado a correre al parco. I like how it sounds. Lucas: And for team sports, we have 'giocare a calcio' — to play soccer. Luna: Giocare a calcio. That's a big one in Italy, right? Lucas: For sure. You might hear 'Giochiamo a calcio?' — 'Shall we play soccer?' Luna: Giochiamo a calcio? I'd say yes! Lucas: And a general phrase is 'fare sport' — to do sports. So 'Mi piace fare sport' means 'I like to do sports'. Luna: Mi piace fare sport. That's easy to remember. Lucas: Let's do a quick recap. I'll say the English, you try the Italian. Luna: Okay, go for it. Lucas: To take a walk. Luna: Fare una passeggiata. Lucas: To ride a bike. Luna: Andare in bici. Lucas: To play soccer. Luna: Giocare a calcio. Lucas: To go for a run. Luna: Andare a correre. Lucas: To do sports. Luna: Fare sport. Lucas: And 'Are you coming with me?' Luna: Vieni con me? Lucas: Perfect! Now, let's put them into a mini scene. Imagine you meet a friend at the park. Luna: Ciao, Marco. Vieni con me? Facciamo una passeggiata. Lucas: And the friend could say 'Sì, volentieri. Poi vado a correre.' Luna: Ah, so 'Poi vado a correre.' — 'Then I'll go for a run.' Good. Lucas: You're getting the hang of it. By the way, I want to mention something. We keep Fexingo ad-free on purpose. Luna: Yeah, I really like that. No interruptions, just learning. Lucas: If you find these episodes helpful and want to support that choice, you can find us at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: That's a great way to keep the show going. Now, back to the park. Can we do one more scene? Lucas: Sure. Let's say you want to invite someone to play soccer. Luna: Ciao, Luca. Giochiamo a calcio al parco? Lucas: Luca might respond 'Mi dispiace, oggi vado in bici.' Luna: Ah, 'Mi dispiace' — sorry. So he's going biking instead. That's fine. Lucas: Exactly. You can also say 'Domani vado a correre, vieni con me?' Luna: Domani vado a correre, vieni con me? Tomorrow I'm going for a run, are you coming with me? I love that. Lucas: You're a natural. Let's do a final rundown of today's phrases. Luna: Okay, I'll say them one more time: fare una passeggiata, andare in bici, giocare a calcio, andare a correre, fare sport, vieni con me. Lucas: Wonderful. Keep practicing, and next time you're at the park, try using them. Luna: Grazie, Lucas. See you all in the next episode of Learn Italian with Fexingo! Lucas: Ciao for now!
