Transcript
- 0:10Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back. What's going on?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Everybody?
- 0:15Speaker 1: It is Adam Kaplan and Jeff Mosher. It's inside the Birds.
- 0:19Speaker 1: It's a holiday weekend. I hope everybody's enjoying. They're extended,
- 0:23Speaker 1: very hot seasoning weekend here in the Northeast. But Adam,
- 0:27Speaker 1: it's not just hot. I tell you what. Philly sports
- 0:31Speaker 1: is on fire. Sixtures, getting Jill and Brown signing all
- 0:35Speaker 1: these free agents. Maybe Lebron will see the Flyers and
- 0:39Speaker 1: their free agency. It just seems like there's this is
- 0:42Speaker 1: the time for optimism, good karma.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I ain't. Look, the Phillies had turned their season around.
- 0:48Speaker 2: They still have a long way to go. The schedules
- 0:50Speaker 2: could eventually get tougher. They've had a cake schedule. They've
- 0:52Speaker 2: taken advantage of it.
- 0:53Speaker 1: It's great, yeah, but they could be in first place
- 0:55Speaker 1: by the end of this week. It's crazy.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I know, I know. In the Braves, I don't understand
- 0:59Speaker 2: what these pitching injuries. The Dodgers go through the same thing. Yep,
- 1:03Speaker 2: Like that's not just bad luck. When this continues to
- 1:06Speaker 2: happen year after year. There's there's something going on with
- 1:08Speaker 2: when that they trained. But anyway, Yeah, I'm getting back
- 1:11Speaker 2: to Philly sports. Yeah, it's pretty pretty darn cool, you know,
- 1:14Speaker 2: really is. And you know, the Flyers were the big
- 1:17Speaker 2: came out of nowhere to be very exciting. We had
- 1:21Speaker 2: World Cup here, which is absolutely awesome. It's been it's
- 1:24Speaker 2: been very fun to watch World Cup. Not a big
- 1:26Speaker 2: soccer fan about you, growing up, I wasn't. I did
- 1:28Speaker 2: play it.
- 1:29Speaker 1: So into the World Cup, I really do enjoyed, like
- 1:32Speaker 1: they the competition, it's really topping. But you know, other
- 1:36Speaker 1: than that.
- 1:37Speaker 2: For those of us who are old enough to remember
- 1:39Speaker 2: the eighty hockey team Olympic hockey team, I was a kid,
- 1:44Speaker 2: but that was something I'll never forget. That was on
- 1:47Speaker 2: tape delay. It was just the coolest thing ever. And
- 1:50Speaker 2: like not that this is in the same vein because
- 1:53Speaker 2: you're talking about non pros. Yeah, the eight going against pros,
- 1:58Speaker 2: the Russian team, so that that was cool. But anyway, yeah,
- 2:00Speaker 2: it is, it is so. But the Sixers thing, it's
- 2:05Speaker 2: right up. It was it was like it was hard
- 2:08Speaker 2: to process, Like, wait a minute, I know that they
- 2:10Speaker 2: were trying to move him. It was never a secret, right,
- 2:12Speaker 2: But and I we can debate whether NBA divisions matter
- 2:15Speaker 2: anymore to a more conference. But you're trained to the
- 2:19Speaker 2: team that just took you out, being down three to one.
- 2:22Speaker 2: They took you out. What the hell? And you're getting
- 2:24Speaker 2: only Paul George in two first round picks and a couple.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Of what hey man, Mike Gancy has done it. He
- 2:30Speaker 1: has turned this team around.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Andy Simon, who I love, who'll be their sixth man,
- 2:36Speaker 2: who could flat out score. He's a big time scorer.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Dean Wade. I like, Who's who's a nutt and bolt?
- 2:42Speaker 2: You know, I remind for those of you who really
- 2:44Speaker 2: go back with the Sixers, he's a more athletic, better
- 2:47Speaker 2: shooting George Lynch. He's just he does everything, a little
- 2:50Speaker 2: bit of everything. George shoot very well. But George Lynch
- 2:53Speaker 2: was so physically tough and could read about in d
- 2:56Speaker 2: This guy does a little bit of everything. Dean Wade.
- 2:58Speaker 2: I'm just uh, I'm so bleep it. I don't want
- 3:02Speaker 2: to curse. This is not a good show to like.
- 3:03Speaker 2: I know people like when I curse, but this is
- 3:05Speaker 2: not gonna be the show that I cursed. It's to
- 3:07Speaker 2: get to the season when they pissed me off somehow.
- 3:09Speaker 1: There you go, Well, that's what I wanted to hit
- 3:11Speaker 1: on right, It's like this is the time for those
- 3:14Speaker 1: teams where you're optimistic people you haven't had a chance
- 3:17Speaker 1: to see it through yet, so you're always going to
- 3:20Speaker 1: assume the best. You're optimistic about the Philly the Sixers,
- 3:23Speaker 1: the Flyers with their moves, Phillies now are starting to
- 3:26Speaker 1: look good. And so that's the spirit of the podcast series.
- 3:29Speaker 1: We're about to start the optimistic things were optimistic about
- 3:33Speaker 1: with the Philadelphia Eagles. We're gonna do that in the
- 3:36Speaker 1: next two podcasts. This one's gonna be offense, next one's
- 3:39Speaker 1: gonna be defense. Now, I asked Adam to send me
- 3:42Speaker 1: three guys he was optimistic about in both, and then
- 3:45Speaker 1: I came up with my own three. And it's really
- 3:47Speaker 1: cool that I don't know that we have any crossovers,
- 3:49Speaker 1: so we're gonna wind up having really this guy yeah yeah,
- 3:53Speaker 1: And I like that you included coaches in this as well,
- 3:56Speaker 1: so we're gonna go through that. And we also in
- 3:58Speaker 1: the look like like we here on inside the Birds,
- 4:01Speaker 1: we tried to make it very obvious, like picking all
- 4:04Speaker 1: like star players and say, hey, they're going to be
- 4:07Speaker 1: great or we're optimistic about it. So I think you'll
- 4:09Speaker 1: find there's a little bit of nuance involved here in.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Who he picked.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And also it doesn't mean if we didn't pick someone,
- 4:16Speaker 1: it doesn't mean we're pessimistic.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, Well why didn't you mention this guy?
- 4:21Speaker 1: Right, We're just trying to be a little nuanced here. Yeah.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Well, look, and we'll explain it when we go to
- 4:30Speaker 2: our list. But when you hear one of the players,
- 4:34Speaker 2: it's I've been asked certain questions and interviews about this
- 4:38Speaker 2: particular player and can he do this? And now I'll
- 4:41Speaker 2: explain today because I I I just happened to ask
- 4:45Speaker 2: this because I got second tired of it being asked
- 4:46Speaker 2: this question. Because you talk about nuance, you have to
- 4:50Speaker 2: explain it. Yep, I'll get to that. And I got
- 4:53Speaker 2: a current offensive coach with an NFL team NFC team.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I said, hey, could you explain how you've perceived that.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I know, I said sort of a fan question, but
- 5:02Speaker 2: I need to know this because your coach, I don't.
- 5:04Speaker 2: And he didn't even think about it. He goes, oh, yeah,
- 5:06Speaker 2: he goes, He goes, no, he goes, we think about
- 5:08Speaker 2: this because when you draft a player like this, he's
- 5:11Speaker 2: got to be able to do this, like oh, Okay, well,
- 5:15Speaker 2: I said, in this case, I don't know if we
- 5:16Speaker 2: thought he did, but now he's going to definitely have
- 5:18Speaker 2: to do it, and hint, hint, he probably could figure
- 5:20Speaker 2: it out.
- 5:20Speaker 1: There you go, all right, I like that. All right.
- 5:23Speaker 1: With that being said, I want you to start with
- 5:25Speaker 1: the first person on your list, because I think it's
- 5:27Speaker 1: going to fold into a nice conversation into the first
- 5:30Speaker 1: person on my list. So the first person you're optimistic
- 5:34Speaker 1: about on offense is whom.
- 5:36Speaker 2: A coach, and it's Sean Manning I've talked to. I
- 5:40Speaker 2: don't know how many people have either worked with him,
- 5:42Speaker 2: coached him by the way and one of his stops,
- 5:46Speaker 2: or have heard about him like he I don't say
- 5:49Speaker 2: he's a phenomenon, but there are a lot of people
- 5:51Speaker 2: who think he's brilliant. And he's only thirty four years old.
- 5:55Speaker 2: You know, I always wonder, like, Okay, I remember Bob Lamont,
- 5:58Speaker 2: the agent of I don't know if he still represents
- 6:01Speaker 2: Sean McVay, but he told me more than once he's
- 6:04Speaker 2: the next John Gruden. Like the kid was twenty eight
- 6:08Speaker 2: years old. He was thirty when he technically signed his contract,
- 6:11Speaker 2: and like a week later, turns thirty one. I guess
- 6:13Speaker 2: if you know, you know, sometimes you just around you're
- 6:15Speaker 2: not always right, right. But I'm really optimistic Herd. He's
- 6:20Speaker 2: a good communicator, and obviously he's got a challenge with Hurts.
- 6:23Speaker 2: You know, he's a quarterback, has worked with a lot
- 6:25Speaker 2: of different coaches. They got to connect. Everything we've heard
- 6:27Speaker 2: has been good so far, but they haven't played a
- 6:29Speaker 2: game yet. They actually even't got to training camp yet,
- 6:31Speaker 2: which is coming up. But I'm just feeling like he's
- 6:35Speaker 2: as swarn as talented as everyone says. And we have
- 6:39Speaker 2: to remember he's only coach. He's only coached two previous years. Okay,
- 6:45Speaker 2: he was a low level system two years ago, got
- 6:48Speaker 2: promoted to quarterbacks coach with the Packers. He's the runner
- 6:51Speaker 2: room one time. Okay, Sean's gonna have to learn the
- 6:55Speaker 2: hard way. He look you coaching Green Bay that I'm
- 6:58Speaker 2: sure there's pressure when you coach at Philly. The pressure
- 7:01Speaker 2: is enormous. Media standpoint, you could say all you want
- 7:05Speaker 2: about you block it out coaches. No, you don't think
- 7:08Speaker 2: you know this because I know you and I have
- 7:10Speaker 2: discussed this, that the coaches we talked to over the
- 7:11Speaker 2: years they know this. Yeah, and you sign up for
- 7:14Speaker 2: it when you come into Philly. There's an expectation of offense. Okay,
- 7:18Speaker 2: every coach who comes here on offense knows this. I've
- 7:21Speaker 2: had the conversations with some of these people, and I
- 7:24Speaker 2: don't know mcmanon. I hope to meet him someday, but
- 7:28Speaker 2: know this along here, everything I've heard has been brilliant.
- 7:30Speaker 2: So I'm optimistic these people we've spoke to are right,
- 7:34Speaker 2: and then he could reach shirts and they're going to
- 7:35Speaker 2: get in the same page that. That's my spiel for
- 7:37Speaker 2: this one.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I like it. And look, look, I mean there's there's
- 7:40Speaker 1: two things that I think help Sean to be to
- 7:43Speaker 1: help him be optimistic about one, I think it's fair
- 7:47Speaker 1: to say the offense was sort of a rock bottom
- 7:49Speaker 1: last year. I mean, it's hard to get worse than
- 7:51Speaker 1: what they were doing last year. So and then listen,
- 7:55Speaker 1: I'm not trying to damn him with faint praise. I'm
- 7:56Speaker 1: just saying, like, the bar for offensive efficiency was pretty low,
- 8:01Speaker 1: and he can come in and honestly, if the offense
- 8:04Speaker 1: looks twenty five percent better than last year, with the
- 8:07Speaker 1: expectation that the defense is going to be pretty damn good,
- 8:10Speaker 1: this year, then it's gonna look good right from the start.
- 8:12Speaker 1: But more important than that, the second thing Adam I
- 8:14Speaker 1: would say is that just listening to the players, I
- 8:17Speaker 1: don't listen. I know that they're not gonna say bad things,
- 8:20Speaker 1: but a lot of them, to a man, were acknowledging
- 8:23Speaker 1: that it was time to finally change, like the time
- 8:26Speaker 1: to get out of that old rut of doing things
- 8:28Speaker 1: the way they always did it and embracing new change.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And you have a lot of veteran players and sometimes
- 8:34Speaker 1: they don't want to embrace things like that, especially ones
- 8:36Speaker 1: who've had success. But the vibe iy God just taught,
- 8:40Speaker 1: you know, listening to here sakuon Lane Johnson especially yes
- 8:44Speaker 1: talking about how they admired that kind of offense from Afar,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I think really helps out Sean to get buy in
- 8:50Speaker 1: really off they want this change, and so I think
- 8:53Speaker 1: that that from his standpoint, helps to get the buy
- 8:55Speaker 1: in right right away.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah, And the key is for Hurtz and Man, you'd
- 8:59Speaker 2: get on the same page because the offense is, as
- 9:03Speaker 2: we mentioned when Menu was hired, this can be completely different.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Look for Jalen, it's a departure from anything he's seen here,
- 9:11Speaker 2: right and it can only work if Hurts does his job,
- 9:17Speaker 2: and then also if he's playing great, which I it's
- 9:21Speaker 2: funny I didn't put him on the list. I'm reasonably
- 9:25Speaker 2: optimistic on Hurts. I know nationally a lot of people
- 9:29Speaker 2: I respect don't think it's going to happen with for Hurts,
- 9:31Speaker 2: and he can't play the West Coast offense, right. I
- 9:35Speaker 2: just believe that he knows that getting a new contract
- 9:40Speaker 2: is paramounted and playing well. It was atrocious last year,
- 9:45Speaker 2: as you were alluding to, they were terrible. Pessian's terrible.
- 9:47Speaker 2: You can only blame the coaches so much. At some
- 9:50Speaker 2: point the players got to do his job, because the
- 9:52Speaker 2: shame of it is when it was dialed up well
- 9:54Speaker 2: last season, there were too many instances based solely on
- 9:56Speaker 2: tape study, when we know exactly where the balls is
- 9:59Speaker 2: to go, it didn't go there. Yeah, And they could
- 10:02Speaker 2: reduce what they asked him all the time, like they
- 10:04Speaker 2: did a lot, and there were times where the ball
- 10:07Speaker 2: still wouldn't come out, and you're like, this is ridiculous. Yeah,
- 10:10Speaker 2: but we've also we also pointed out last season when
- 10:13Speaker 2: he was on you go, wow, why can't he do
- 10:15Speaker 2: that more? Well, guess what those throws are in this offense. Yeah,
- 10:19Speaker 2: those big time NFL throws which he made selectively, but
- 10:22Speaker 2: he did them. Yeah, he's absolutely For those of you
- 10:26Speaker 2: who don't think he's capable, you clearly don't know what
- 10:27Speaker 2: you're looking at. He absolutely capable. Well he do it.
- 10:30Speaker 2: I can't answer that, right Only he can't, Right man,
- 10:33Speaker 2: you can't answer that. Only jailing can. He's got to
- 10:35Speaker 2: do it. I believe to do it.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I like it all right. So, in the honor of
- 10:41Speaker 1: what you said, I was I feel good about some
- 10:45Speaker 1: of the offensive line really bouncing back, and a lot
- 10:47Speaker 1: of it because of the wide zone or the zone
- 10:50Speaker 1: blocking element that they're going to implement. So I was
- 10:54Speaker 1: trying to figure out in my head, like which one
- 10:56Speaker 1: do I feel most optimistic about of all the disappointing
- 10:58Speaker 1: guys last year, and I settled on Cam Jurgens. And
- 11:02Speaker 1: the reason whoa twofold is one? You know, Landon Dickerson.
- 11:09Speaker 1: It might not even be talent, it just might be
- 11:11Speaker 1: can the body cooperate anymore? And if you told me
- 11:13Speaker 1: it's not going to cooperate, I get it because it's
- 11:16Speaker 1: just been surgically repaired so many times. So I can't
- 11:20Speaker 1: be surprised if he just doesn't regain the form that
- 11:23Speaker 1: he had. Same thing with Lane Johnson. He's getting up
- 11:25Speaker 1: there in age like he's obviously he gets to that age,
- 11:29Speaker 1: you could get injured pretty quickly. I mean, if he's
- 11:32Speaker 1: going to play, if Lane Johnson's not hurt, he's going
- 11:34Speaker 1: to play a high level anyway. Jurgens is the one
- 11:36Speaker 1: I zeroed in on at him because I think it
- 11:39Speaker 1: was so difficult for him to go from having a
- 11:41Speaker 1: back surgery to missing all that camp to going and
- 11:44Speaker 1: playing the style of football that the Eagles have played
- 11:48Speaker 1: over last few years, which is run up the middle,
- 11:50Speaker 1: pounded up the gut inside z own duo. Of all
- 11:54Speaker 1: the linemen who were disappointing last year, I feel like
- 11:57Speaker 1: with his health, as long as the back is okay
- 12:00Speaker 1: and he didn't have a kind of surgery that is
- 12:02Speaker 1: supposed to be debilitating, there are some bactorate surgeries that
- 12:06Speaker 1: are his was not. The dyseectomy is not supposed to
- 12:09Speaker 1: be one. That's like changes who you are as a player,
- 12:13Speaker 1: and then in combination with what they're going to do,
- 12:16Speaker 1: blocking a little bit more horizontal, using that athleticism, not
- 12:20Speaker 1: having the just double team up the middle, up the middle,
- 12:23Speaker 1: up the middle, and then always taking on a big
- 12:25Speaker 1: linebacker coming downhill and angling. Being able to move a
- 12:28Speaker 1: little bit more horizontally I think will take some pressure
- 12:31Speaker 1: off of him and accentuate his athleticism because he can
- 12:35Speaker 1: really move well from side to side. So of all
- 12:38Speaker 1: the guys on the offensive line, especially the three that
- 12:41Speaker 1: are hurt, I think you'll see him really benefit from
- 12:45Speaker 1: the new blocking scheme and then be allowed to just
- 12:48Speaker 1: be himself as opposed to last year. I think the
- 12:51Speaker 1: punishment will be down and capitalizing on what he does
- 12:54Speaker 1: best will be up in the new scheme.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I mean him getting him getting things taken care of,
- 13:00Speaker 2: and you know he's going overseas, you know, for help,
- 13:04Speaker 2: which Landon did. And just first it's as he talked
- 13:07Speaker 2: about it in his UH Press briefing, not just for now,
- 13:10Speaker 2: it's this is a this is a life decision, right,
- 13:13Speaker 2: and you worry about players. I remember seeing John running
- 13:16Speaker 2: late in his career with his back problems and how
- 13:18Speaker 2: he talked about it, very public about it, how it
- 13:21Speaker 2: was tough for him to get up, you know, tough
- 13:23Speaker 2: for him to fly right many years. He just got
- 13:26Speaker 2: it out. You hate when you hear about that stuff.
- 13:27Speaker 2: But uh, this is a big this is a big
- 13:30Speaker 2: deal for for for Cam. He's there, Drew Kennell. I
- 13:34Speaker 2: know they're very high on him, They're super high on him.
- 13:37Speaker 2: And boy did he look at oga is my guy?
- 13:40Speaker 2: Did he look like you put him some mass on
- 13:41Speaker 2: his body? Didn't recognize him? I couldn't be. I was like,
- 13:43Speaker 2: this cannot be the same guy.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think it's yeah. I expect him to
- 13:48Speaker 1: have I mean to get back to like that Pro Bowl,
- 13:51Speaker 1: Cam driven. I'd be surprised if he didn't.
- 13:53Speaker 2: All right, all right, that's a good one. I wasn't Wow,
- 13:55Speaker 2: you're not kidd when we don't have the same list.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I was not thinking that that that your guy on
- 13:59Speaker 2: the limb there. I he's healthy. I on your on
- 14:03Speaker 2: your point before we move on. I listened to that
- 14:05Speaker 2: press conference and just to hear him talk about how
- 14:09Speaker 2: much better he feels. But he wasn't sacking one hundred percent.
- 14:14Speaker 2: It's always relative. I mean, you can't a players one
- 14:17Speaker 2: hundred percent might be eighty percent in reality. But he
- 14:20Speaker 2: just sounded so much better. It was really good to
- 14:23Speaker 2: hear that. So, yeah, that's optimism right there.
- 14:26Speaker 1: And you're not talking about guys have like seven or
- 14:28Speaker 1: eight surgeries either.
- 14:29Speaker 2: So I mean, like like Lannon right right, it's.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Just hard right now to be like, I'm really optimistic
- 14:34Speaker 1: on land and he was one step away from retirement.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, I don't know, because first of all,
- 14:39Speaker 2: how how could you how could you possibly a who
- 14:41Speaker 2: the hell knows?
- 14:42Speaker 1: Right? Exactly exactly?
- 14:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it's good, it's a good one. I again wasn't
- 14:46Speaker 2: going there. Okay, So we picked the.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Same position for number two, but different people. So you're
- 14:52Speaker 1: number two?
- 14:53Speaker 2: Wow? Yeah all right? Let me all right? So oh oh,
- 14:56Speaker 2: I I could figure you're probably gonna go with kayle Lemon, but.
- 15:00Speaker 1: You pulling my card out like that.
- 15:01Speaker 2: But no, no, no, I'm not going no. But because I
- 15:03Speaker 2: don't I hear you on that. So, uh, this is
- 15:09Speaker 2: my thing with DeVante Smith. So I've been asked this
- 15:12Speaker 2: question at nauseum and like every interview. Okay, could he
- 15:14Speaker 2: be a number one superceiver? So I said, you know,
- 15:17Speaker 2: I always answered, hey, can he tell coverage? It's way
- 15:19Speaker 2: more than that. So I'm like, you know what, I
- 15:22Speaker 2: know enough coaches, let me ask you. You know, it's
- 15:25Speaker 2: there all on vacation. So I don't want to bother anyone,
- 15:27Speaker 2: but I had to get someone I knew had picked
- 15:28Speaker 2: the phone up this week past week. So I got
- 15:31Speaker 2: somebody who's with an NFC team, and very gracious. He
- 15:35Speaker 2: didn't even think about it. He goes, oh, h, what
- 15:39Speaker 2: you have. I didn't write it down, but I know
- 15:40Speaker 2: exactly what he said. He said, basically to sum it up,
- 15:45Speaker 2: when the ball's going to this guy, he wins consistently.
- 15:50Speaker 2: When everybody knows where it's going, he wins. He's like, oh, okay,
- 15:57Speaker 2: I get that. So I thought that was really good
- 15:58Speaker 2: because it made me think about it like A J.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Brown when I don't. He didn't win as much last year,
- 16:04Speaker 2: but when A J. Brown was elite, he won every bleeping, bleeping,
- 16:07Speaker 2: bleeping time late hand whatever you want to say. Okay,
- 16:10Speaker 2: Carl Owens, I saw it here. You saw here early
- 16:12Speaker 2: in your career. I saw it here. I was just
- 16:15Speaker 2: blown away by what I saw her. My quick by
- 16:18Speaker 2: the way, my quick cookie. Yeah. I know he watches
- 16:21Speaker 2: our show, but we appreciate that quick one. Okay. This
- 16:25Speaker 2: coach said to me, it's he goes, you know it
- 16:28Speaker 2: when you see it, and I'm with all that stuff.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I got from this coach. I'm like, all right, Davante
- 16:34Speaker 2: Smith will win. He always wins anyway. But now when
- 16:37Speaker 2: coverage is total to you, when everybody knows it's going
- 16:39Speaker 2: to you, can you win? Not the biggest guy in
- 16:41Speaker 2: the world plays bigger than his listed size. Yep. I
- 16:44Speaker 2: just I am bullish on him winning this. Uh And
- 16:47Speaker 2: and look here's the deal. When you look at their
- 16:51Speaker 2: past target group, it's like, Davante Smith. We'll see about Lemon.
- 16:54Speaker 2: You know. I didn't like that he missed time and
- 16:56Speaker 2: the off season do the hamstring injury, but he'll be
- 16:58Speaker 2: fine for training camp? What a wix? What is Hollywood Brown?
- 17:02Speaker 2: Our guy Darius Cooper? Who the hell knows? But I
- 17:05Speaker 2: know this, DeVante Smith is an absolute stud. Yes, so
- 17:09Speaker 2: he'll handle it. He will handle it.
- 17:10Speaker 1: We were doing football at four last week and someone
- 17:13Speaker 1: it was a mailbag version with our ninety seven point
- 17:15Speaker 1: three ESPN partners in South Jersey and Mike Gills had
- 17:19Speaker 1: a mail bag question for me and someone asked, you know,
- 17:22Speaker 1: just how good can DeVante Smith be? And I started
- 17:25Speaker 1: to go through all the top and I said, well,
- 17:29Speaker 1: there's really nothing that Davante Smith doesn't do extraordinarily well,
- 17:33Speaker 1: he runs routes great. He catches the ball great. He
- 17:38Speaker 1: wins and contested catches. He wins in one on one situations.
- 17:43Speaker 1: He can split defenses. He can win over the top,
- 17:47Speaker 1: even though he doesn't have elite speed. So I said,
- 17:50Speaker 1: you know, I know a lot of people will go
- 17:51Speaker 1: with some trio or quartet of like the Bengals. Guy.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Actually real quick to give you. Okay, I don't know
- 18:02Speaker 2: we're going here, but this is great. I'm gonna give
- 18:03Speaker 2: you seven players. Ready, Yeah, Justin Jefferson. Okay, down year
- 18:09Speaker 2: because the quarterback, Yeah, Justin Jefferson went. He wins everywhere
- 18:15Speaker 2: they line him up, inside, outside, right, wins. Who would
- 18:20Speaker 2: you rather have? George Pickens or Davante oh Man? That's
- 18:25Speaker 2: no brainer from me. DeVante I probably no headaches.
- 18:29Speaker 1: I almost want this year coming up, just to make
- 18:32Speaker 1: sure because Pickens was elite last year, and he was,
- 18:34Speaker 1: but he also took place off Dames off right, I'd
- 18:37Speaker 1: probably rather have DeVante Smith. That's a good point, and
- 18:39Speaker 1: that's the point I made to to Mike Gil I said,
- 18:42Speaker 1: I think there's only four receivers. I definitely put like,
- 18:45Speaker 1: did Jamar Chase, You're justin Jefferson Nicoua and.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Here's the thing. Is really good.
- 18:52Speaker 1: But he's you're gonna says, I'm telling you, and I
- 18:57Speaker 1: have to evaluate him as such.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he puts up to do. He puts up numbers.
- 19:01Speaker 2: He is a numbers chief. He is no Jamar Chase
- 19:04Speaker 2: is an absolute superstar. He's awesome. No offense to Davante, right,
- 19:08Speaker 2: all right, this is the tough one, maybe.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Smith and Jigba because he just was under.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah yeah, yeah, we'll get to him a second.
- 19:14Speaker 2: I'm gonna.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Offense and you come through like that.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Yeah he he he. But every year he was a
- 19:20Speaker 2: stud unbelievable season. I got one for you, Brown.
- 19:29Speaker 1: See, I like him on Rosse and Brown. But I
- 19:31Speaker 1: think that Smith has the capability to get as many
- 19:34Speaker 1: targets and yards and plays both inside and out. So
- 19:37Speaker 1: I know, so aman Rod does too. He's generally a
- 19:40Speaker 1: slot he can move outside. But I'm not so certain
- 19:43Speaker 1: that Smith can't have the same kind of year now
- 19:45Speaker 1: that he's the number one.
- 19:46Speaker 2: All right, So this one is tough because the dude
- 19:51Speaker 2: is a numbers bonger. This dude puts up absolute monster
- 19:54Speaker 2: numbers every year. Okay, but I believe DeVante's a better play.
- 19:59Speaker 2: We're gonna learn this year. Well, we're gonna know because
- 20:01Speaker 2: they see CD Lamb.
- 20:04Speaker 1: That's another one. I think Cede Lamb and Devonte Smith
- 20:07Speaker 1: are really really similar in that they can play inside,
- 20:11Speaker 1: they can play outside, their long striders. They both lack
- 20:14Speaker 1: like four to two four three speed almost everything. I honestly,
- 20:20Speaker 1: that's why I'm looking forward to seeing this year. Ken
- 20:22Speaker 1: can Devonte Smith be someone at the end of the
- 20:24Speaker 1: year that we're talking about is like, there's your Holy Trinity,
- 20:28Speaker 1: there's your Jefferson, there's your Chase and Smith and Jigbo
- 20:31Speaker 1: or whatever, and then right after you can put Devonte
- 20:33Speaker 1: Smith right there. I think you might be able to
- 20:35Speaker 1: do that.
- 20:35Speaker 2: You might, Yeah, there aren't a lot of players would Smith.
- 20:39Speaker 2: We're gonna learn. I just really believe they, you know,
- 20:42Speaker 2: just based on what we know, uh that he'll handle
- 20:45Speaker 2: it being a number one pass target and they clear
- 20:47Speaker 2: number one, it's it's there, it's him and everybody else,
- 20:49Speaker 2: and it'll be BI committee after that, right I and
- 20:53Speaker 2: bisclists in this scheme, if if if Manning's everything that
- 20:57Speaker 2: people think the scheme gets you, it's by scheme like
- 21:00Speaker 2: that in this system, guys win, yes, repeatedly win, and
- 21:05Speaker 2: you're going back to You're going back to the sixties.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Bill Washington's with Cincinnati. I mean, these guys win, mm hmm.
- 21:12Speaker 2: And I'm just I can't wait. I can't wait for Fantasy.
- 21:16Speaker 2: It'll be interesting to see if he's I assume he'll
- 21:18Speaker 2: be a high first round picked devone.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I would think, Oh, I would think so for sure.
- 21:22Speaker 1: All right, So you're right that I picked McKay lemon.
- 21:25Speaker 1: But I also, in the spirit of the show, I
- 21:27Speaker 1: want to create the correct narrative here. I am not
- 21:31Speaker 1: optimistic on mkayle Lemon because I think he's going to
- 21:33Speaker 1: have eleven hundred yards eleven times like B the one
- 21:37Speaker 1: B DeVante Smith one. A, he's a he's he was
- 21:40Speaker 1: drafted in the bottom half of the first round. Okay.
- 21:43Speaker 1: A lot of those guys tend to be fifty to fifty.
- 21:45Speaker 1: We saw Nelson Agila really struggle at the start. A
- 21:48Speaker 1: Xavier Worthy, you know, didn't really hit it as a rookie.
- 21:52Speaker 2: They had done it at all.
- 21:53Speaker 1: He hasn't hit it at all yet. Right, there's another
- 21:56Speaker 1: wide receiver who I was thinking he was picked in
- 21:58Speaker 1: the Oh, Matthew Gold last year he had like a
- 22:02Speaker 1: year for the for the Packers. So my narrative here
- 22:05Speaker 1: is I think Makay Lemon's going to be good in
- 22:08Speaker 1: his I'm optimistic he is going to acclimate to the
- 22:11Speaker 1: role that he's given, which is slot receiver and eleven personnel. Mostly.
- 22:15Speaker 1: We'll see if you can get on the field in
- 22:17Speaker 1: twelve personnel as a second receiver. That all depends on
- 22:21Speaker 1: down distance, what you're getting out of Wixs Marquise Brown, right,
- 22:25Speaker 1: But I am optimistic that within the confines of what
- 22:28Speaker 1: this offense is supposed to be, that he is an
- 22:31Speaker 1: absolute fit for it in terms of spacing, catching the
- 22:36Speaker 1: ball over the middle, creating yards after the catch. I
- 22:40Speaker 1: think that this player and this offensive concept go hand
- 22:45Speaker 1: in hand really well. So I do think that when
- 22:47Speaker 1: he's on the field, you're going to see the potential
- 22:52Speaker 1: and the tendencies the reasons why the Eagles drafted He's
- 22:56Speaker 1: going to validate that pretty quickly. Now, that might just
- 22:59Speaker 1: be fifty catches for five hundred yards and four touchdowns.
- 23:02Speaker 1: It may not look sexy on the stat sheet, but
- 23:06Speaker 1: my point is you're still going to see what you
- 23:09Speaker 1: need to see going forward to know that this guy
- 23:12Speaker 1: is going to be a really good compliment to Devonte Smith,
- 23:15Speaker 1: and by year two and year three, he's going to
- 23:17Speaker 1: be that guy. It's not you're not going to feel
- 23:20Speaker 1: about him the way we all felt about Nelson Aguilor
- 23:23Speaker 1: after the first year, which is they may have missed.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Well. The thing is Nelly, Nelly had to grow up
- 23:28Speaker 2: a little bit as we would learn. You know that
- 23:30Speaker 2: he had his not going to get into what happened, folks,
- 23:33Speaker 2: you could look at Google it, but Nelly and he
- 23:37Speaker 2: also dropped balls like he just comp issues the really
- 23:42Speaker 2: ridiculous off the field issue, which I can't help but laugh.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Based if you folks look it up, if you're the young'ins,
- 23:48Speaker 2: if you look it up, you'll be like, wait, what,
- 23:51Speaker 2: He's actually a pretty good guy. We know people to
- 23:53Speaker 2: know him. He just you know, we off to get
- 23:54Speaker 2: out of our own way at some point. He because
- 23:56Speaker 2: you know what, give him a good solid NFL plug,
- 23:58Speaker 2: made a lot of money. Remember he's very productive over
- 24:01Speaker 2: the years. So yeah, I like, look, I'm very optimistic
- 24:05Speaker 2: with Kayle Lemon.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Yes, well, yeah, I think and I imagine as the
- 24:11Speaker 1: year season goes on and he gets more comfortable, hopefully
- 24:13Speaker 1: he stays healthy, right, you'll see someone who becomes a
- 24:17Speaker 1: bigger part of the offense as the year goes on.
- 24:20Speaker 1: You know, you look at Matthew Golden last year, he
- 24:22Speaker 1: had like thirty catches three sixteenth. It just never felt
- 24:24Speaker 1: like he was getting part of that offense. But when
- 24:27Speaker 1: I look at mkayle Lemon, and I think as some
- 24:30Speaker 1: of the other offenses that you know, I think of
- 24:32Speaker 1: like how they use Jayden Reid right and how right
- 24:34Speaker 1: from the start read in his role for the Packers
- 24:38Speaker 1: was perfect for it middle of the field. He can
- 24:40Speaker 1: actually take a hand off every once in a while.
- 24:42Speaker 1: The Lemon's gonna do that. But I just you know,
- 24:45Speaker 1: uh Juwan Jennings, the way he flourished over the middle
- 24:48Speaker 1: of the field in his limited role. When everybody's healthy
- 24:51Speaker 1: for the Niners, I think Lemon will be able to
- 24:54Speaker 1: impress people based on what he's asked to do.
- 24:57Speaker 2: And remember, Mike McCarthy really want him a Lemon with
- 25:01Speaker 2: the Steelers because he needs a slot receiver. They don't
- 25:05Speaker 2: have one, and well they did. They do now Jeremy
- 25:08Speaker 2: Bernard will be that guy, but they really want to
- 25:10Speaker 2: Mackay Lemon. That's that's gonna be fascinating.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 25:16Speaker 1: long lines, We've all been there, But when it comes
- 25:19Speaker 1: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 25:24Speaker 1: the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly,

- 26:07Speaker 1: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 26:10Speaker 1: one and up. All right, so the last guys we picked,
- 26:15Speaker 1: I actually was on the opposite side with you on your.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Guy whoa really all right? All right, let me explain
- 26:21Speaker 2: this one. So I know a lot of people are like,
- 26:23Speaker 2: wait a minute, Dallas Scott it, what the hell was
- 26:26Speaker 2: the touchdowns last year? I mean you have to include
- 26:28Speaker 2: the end around, the shovel passes, the pop pass they
- 26:32Speaker 2: all count. They counts media eleven out of think about it.
- 26:35Speaker 2: He had two this season before that, right, this is ridiculous. Yep.
- 26:40Speaker 2: You know he came off of a career high and
- 26:43Speaker 2: sixty receptions. Should have probably gotten the ball more than that,
- 26:47Speaker 2: but he only averaged ten yards per catch. Mean, he
- 26:49Speaker 2: did his damage obviously in the red zone, but in
- 26:51Speaker 2: this a true West Coast offense, and there's gonna be
- 26:54Speaker 2: a lot of McVeigh in this thing as we understand it.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Obviously some Shanahan concepts as well. They all get the
- 27:00Speaker 2: tight end the football, almost every West Coast offense. I
- 27:02Speaker 2: didn't say all of them, but most of them do
- 27:03Speaker 2: get the tight end the football. Eli Stowers is going
- 27:06Speaker 2: to play minimal over all year one. Zach Ertz same
- 27:09Speaker 2: thing when he came in here, despite the need for
- 27:12Speaker 2: him in twenty thirteen and then his his his role.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I think he like maybe forty one percent of the
- 27:18Speaker 2: snaps without looking it up, but then you saw him
- 27:21Speaker 2: take off. So here it's it's about Goddard. Stowers will
- 27:26Speaker 2: play again, not a huge role, right, and they're gonna
- 27:30Speaker 2: if they can make sure that. I'll tell you what
- 27:34Speaker 2: if Johnny Moncake could be a good White tight end,
- 27:37Speaker 2: if he could still play, he's gotta won't have to
- 27:39Speaker 2: be in line as much, and boy, he could have
- 27:40Speaker 2: a huge season, huge season.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I applied my same thinking to fantasy
- 27:46Speaker 1: football as I did with Goddard, and that might be wrong,
- 27:49Speaker 1: but sometimes it served me really well. And it's like
- 27:51Speaker 1: I looked at Goddard and I said, at thirty years old,
- 27:55Speaker 1: in his was it eighth season? Last year he had
- 27:58Speaker 1: the most catches of his career, the most touchdowns of
- 28:01Speaker 1: his career. That just what are the odds that's gonna
- 28:04Speaker 1: be better or happen again?
- 28:08Speaker 2: But why can't he have But why can't he have Okay,
- 28:11Speaker 2: he's not gonna get eleven touchdowns, but why can't he
- 28:12Speaker 2: have six touchdowns? But if he's really remember now he
- 28:16Speaker 2: j Brown's gone displays targets, Okay, who's going to get them?
- 28:20Speaker 2: He could get seventy receptions.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Look, you make a great point, and some of the things,
- 28:25Speaker 1: some of the regression in his game with from blocking
- 28:28Speaker 1: and then also nine point nine per catch last year,
- 28:30Speaker 1: the lower.
- 28:31Speaker 2: That was weird. I don't know what to make of it happen,
- 28:33Speaker 2: and that could be scheme.
- 28:34Speaker 1: It could absolutely have been the scheme. I just think
- 28:37Speaker 1: that if you were to ask me, is this guy
- 28:40Speaker 1: more of a candidate? Are you more optimistic and more
- 28:43Speaker 1: pessimistic that he's gonna be what you expect of him?
- 28:46Speaker 1: I think at this point of his career, I'd probably
- 28:48Speaker 1: lean the other way, just because of aging and the
- 28:51Speaker 1: fact that he already is is blocking went you know,
- 28:54Speaker 1: way lower last year. He's on another one year deal.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Guy we talked about that his blocking wasn't as good.
- 29:02Speaker 2: We have to remember the scheme was bad. What they asked.
- 29:05Speaker 2: There's a reason why the tight Ends coach isn't back.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Not blaming Jason Michael, but if you really look at it,
- 29:10Speaker 2: their offensive staff, Jason is actually a really good coach,
- 29:14Speaker 2: really good coach. But let's be honest. Last year there
- 29:17Speaker 2: was a regression in certain areas. All they couldn't block.
- 29:21Speaker 2: I mean, it just was awful. Some things they asked
- 29:23Speaker 2: these guys to do. Yeah, I know, to get Ryan Mahafey.
- 29:26Speaker 2: They had they were gonna be a tight ends coach,
- 29:29Speaker 2: like that's you know, that's what he does, ye what
- 29:31Speaker 2: they think he can do here. So, uh, I feel
- 29:34Speaker 2: good about Goddard. Yeah, I can understand about it.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Again when we if you feel good about Manion, right,
- 29:40Speaker 1: and you feel good about the scheme, then it's would
- 29:43Speaker 1: make sense to feel good about your best tight end
- 29:46Speaker 1: in that scheme because he should get some opportunities. Shouldn't
- 29:49Speaker 1: have to be catching the ball like right around traffic.
- 29:52Speaker 1: He might have some open you know, play action. Hopefully
- 29:54Speaker 1: get some some good open opportunities. I just I just winced.
- 29:57Speaker 1: I just wasn't ready to commit to it, my guy.
- 30:01Speaker 1: I'm sorry, no good good so, my guy, And I'm
- 30:05Speaker 1: going on a limb on this.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Definitely you ready did Jergers. I don't know how much
- 30:08Speaker 2: more of a limb you can come out on.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I know, but I am optimistic about Tank Bigsby having
- 30:13Speaker 1: a bigger role.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Wowt of just overall, why do you feel that one?
- 30:19Speaker 1: Because these offenses, like if you look at again, I'm
- 30:24Speaker 1: just sort of going with like his mentors and like McVeigh,
- 30:27Speaker 1: McVeigh has a bell cow and Kyrin Williams, but blake
- 30:29Speaker 1: Rum still gets the ball because McVeigh likes to run
- 30:32Speaker 1: a lot and he knows that you can't take a
- 30:34Speaker 1: guy and wear him down and wear him down and
- 30:36Speaker 1: wear him down, and if you have a talented backup,
- 30:40Speaker 1: you use him. I feel like the Floor would have
- 30:44Speaker 1: used who's the kid they drafted in the fourth round,
- 30:47Speaker 1: but he's always hurt for the Packer, marshaun uh oh Lloyd,
- 30:52Speaker 1: he's always hurt, or else they probably would have used
- 30:57Speaker 1: him a lot and not run Josh jacobsir down.
- 30:59Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, they they Yeah.
- 31:03Speaker 1: You see the Niners. They'll use plenty of running backs
- 31:05Speaker 1: and still get the ball a lot to mccafs.
- 31:07Speaker 2: It's funny because because Shanahan used to never rotate McCaffrey,
- 31:11Speaker 2: he wouldn't use anyone else but McAffrey. But McCaffrey kept
- 31:14Speaker 2: breaking down, right, so he started to use the backups
- 31:17Speaker 2: a little bit at least. But Bigsby looks so damn
- 31:20Speaker 2: good until that. He didn't look god in the Niners game,
- 31:22Speaker 2: no one did. In the playoff game, Bigsby looked damn good.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Wow did he look good? Less? In the regular season
- 31:27Speaker 2: he looks good.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I mean his numbers were great as far as yards
- 31:30Speaker 1: per carry. He's young. He fits the offense because he's
- 31:35Speaker 1: a one cut runner horizontally, right. I mean he already
- 31:39Speaker 1: had some experience with it when Liam Cutt when he
- 31:41Speaker 1: was with the Jaguars for the last training camp. My
- 31:45Speaker 1: optimism is this, It's that I think he averaged four
- 31:49Speaker 1: touches per game last year. My optimism is that they
- 31:52Speaker 1: will use him more, probably getting around seven to eight
- 31:55Speaker 1: touches per game, and he will be a good number
- 31:58Speaker 1: two compliment Saquon Barkley, and we will not be doing
- 32:03Speaker 1: podcasts every week saying why in the world did they
- 32:05Speaker 1: not just give the ball to Tank Bigsby a little
- 32:07Speaker 1: more a year older. He's coming off two years where
- 32:10Speaker 1: he carried the ball so freaking much that it would
- 32:13Speaker 1: be it would almost be malpractice not to get the
- 32:16Speaker 1: backup a few more touches per game. I mentioned this
- 32:19Speaker 1: last year, I mean mentioned this recently to you.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Adam.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Jean Robinson had an unbelievable year last year. Yeah, go
- 32:25Speaker 1: look at his touches, go look at his carries. He
- 32:27Speaker 1: was amazing, Right, Algiers still got the ball about eight
- 32:31Speaker 1: point four times per game. Okay, fun get Bigsby the
- 32:35Speaker 1: ball way more and still have a lot of.
- 32:38Speaker 2: It actually worked, it actually worked, and just real quick
- 32:41Speaker 2: on the Kiren Williams situation. What happened cause he's a
- 32:44Speaker 2: smaller frame guy. He's had a lot of injuries in
- 32:47Speaker 2: his career. And Quirham because McVeigh was McVeigh, he grinded
- 32:52Speaker 2: Todd Gurley. You know, Curly had an arthritic ding, but
- 32:57Speaker 2: he grinded him with girlis greatful him. He mcvay's another guy,
- 33:01Speaker 2: doesn't He didn't like to rotate backs he started doing
- 33:03Speaker 2: it and Corn looking last season. Yeah, but really, to.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Really is going to be a great Hall of Fame
- 33:08Speaker 1: conversation debate I've had.
- 33:11Speaker 2: I've had it with people close to him. Believe me,
- 33:13Speaker 2: we've had that conversation.
- 33:14Speaker 1: It's I mean, if you're if you're a longevity guy
- 33:17Speaker 1: and you gotta be like five plus years, then he loses.
- 33:20Speaker 1: But if you are, if you're the guy for at
- 33:23Speaker 1: least five where you are way better than anybody like he,
- 33:26Speaker 1: if you are a believer that twel Davis should be
- 33:28Speaker 1: in it, then I don't know how you keep Curly
- 33:30Speaker 1: out because his three year spam was freaking incredible. But anyway, that's.
- 33:34Speaker 2: I know, I know, I know, man, it's just unbelievable.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Yeah but early, yeah, yeah, girls. But I do think
- 33:42Speaker 1: that Bigsby has the skill set that this offense compliments
- 33:47Speaker 1: really well, and they'll get him the ball more and
- 33:49Speaker 1: it'll be just a little bit. You got to ease
- 33:52Speaker 1: up on Bark a little bit more.
- 33:54Speaker 2: I wish see they don't. They won't do a series.
- 33:58Speaker 2: It'll be like, okay, b barklay first two or three
- 34:02Speaker 2: plays big for a couple and he looks great and
- 34:04Speaker 2: they pull right. And it's just it's tough because with Manyon,
- 34:10Speaker 2: we have no idea. And I understand that Jamal Singleton
- 34:15Speaker 2: handles the rotations, but in the end, it's Manion's call.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Let's put it this way. Most teams let the running
- 34:22Speaker 2: backs coach handle the rotations. I'm assuming they're gonna still
- 34:24Speaker 2: do that.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Yes, we'll have to see, but it remains that because
- 34:29Speaker 1: you said we could use coaches here and I actually
- 34:31Speaker 1: I didn't say this, but I did a slash. I
- 34:33Speaker 1: did tanks Bigsby slash Jamal Singleton with the understanding that
- 34:38Speaker 1: hopefully he gets if it's his call, he realizes like, hey,
- 34:42Speaker 1: we have somebody. We have a really good number two
- 34:45Speaker 1: running back here. We just got to get him on
- 34:46Speaker 1: the field a little bit more. And it's not gonna
- 34:48Speaker 1: hurt Taquon.
- 34:48Speaker 2: That one more thing before we get out here. If
- 34:50Speaker 2: if Saquani it's you know, he's healthy. Let's say he
- 34:55Speaker 2: looks fine, but he's getting stonewalled like they just basically
- 34:58Speaker 2: they're stacking the box. They can't whatever the case may be,
- 35:02Speaker 2: though that could also be overrated. But sekwonk can't run
- 35:06Speaker 2: out of his own way. Put him in as a
- 35:08Speaker 2: change up. How many times we said that Bigsby's the
- 35:10Speaker 2: perfect change up to Barkley and he looks great every
- 35:14Speaker 2: single time you put him in.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Yeah, compact runner, hard to tackle. It's got a little
- 35:19Speaker 1: juice to him. There's no reason. It's not like you know,
- 35:20Speaker 1: you don't know what you have here. You gotta put
- 35:22Speaker 1: a good running back, all right.
- 35:25Speaker 2: That was fun.
- 35:25Speaker 1: So in our next next series, we're gonna do three
- 35:29Speaker 1: guys each on defense that we're optimistic about and look
- 35:32Speaker 1: forward to doing that. That's gonna do it for this
- 35:34Speaker 1: episode of Inside the Birds, the Leading Podcast and Eagles Intel,
- 35:37Speaker 1: And as always, we thank you for flying with us
