- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to Reality TV Cringe. I am one
- 0:08Speaker 1: of your hosts, Delia here with my Real Tight Homegirl
- 0:11Speaker 1: and my daughter in law Beatra. We are here to
- 0:17Speaker 1: continue our conversation about Sister Wives in the never ending
- 0:23Speaker 1: season nineteen. My God, I swear to god we started
- 0:27Speaker 1: this season. I want to say July of last year
- 0:29Speaker 1: or August.
- 0:30Speaker 2: It's got It's had to have been a year almost
- 0:33Speaker 2: almost been a lot.
- 0:36Speaker 1: There's a lot of fatigue out there for the Browns,
- 0:38Speaker 1: but we are back. We are continuing to discuss the
- 0:43Speaker 1: passing of Garrison. It's a somber time for the audience
- 0:47Speaker 1: and for the raccoons. But we have a lot of commentaries,
- 0:51Speaker 1: so before we get into it, we do want to
- 0:53Speaker 1: remind you to please had your wife and hyde your kids.
- 0:56Speaker 1: This is a politically incorrect podcast. We say a lot
- 1:00Speaker 1: of dumb things, we have stupid opinions, and sometimes we swear.
- 1:06Speaker 1: So if you're a sot way, you might want to
- 1:12Speaker 1: find yourself another dumpster. But if you want to go
- 1:16Speaker 1: look at some random signs in Cody, Wyoming, welcome to
- 1:20Speaker 1: this dumpster rage. So aggravating, But.
- 1:27Speaker 2: If you like what we do over here and how
- 1:29Speaker 2: objectively stupid and pretty we are. Please be sure to
- 1:31Speaker 2: follow us on Instagram at reality tv crnch and join
- 1:35Speaker 2: us on Patreon, Patreon, dot com, sash reality tv Cringe.
- 1:38Speaker 2: There's so much bonus content upon their uncensored conversations, ad free.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Galore, absolutely, and if you are watching on YouTube, please
- 1:48Speaker 1: don't forget to like, in, comment, and share and subscribe.
- 1:52Speaker 1: As we make our journey to the summit of the
- 1:54Speaker 1: subscriber mountain, We're heading for that six thousand, slowly but surely,
- 1:59Speaker 1: oh so slowly, I know, and anything you can do
- 2:02Speaker 1: is greatly appreciated, so thank you. In now, I do
- 2:07Speaker 1: want to say that Beatrice and I are going to
- 2:11Speaker 1: be having a little bit of an after show for
- 2:14Speaker 1: the Patreon Raccoons directly after this episode, in which we
- 2:18Speaker 1: are going to maybe get a little bit more real
- 2:21Speaker 1: and raw about some of our opinions surrounding what's going
- 2:25Speaker 1: on in the timeline currently with Garrison and his passing.
- 2:29Speaker 1: And we have some strong opinions, but we don't necessarily
- 2:32Speaker 1: think it's appropriate for general consumption, but we are going
- 2:36Speaker 1: to be reserving that for those of you on Patreon.
- 2:38Speaker 1: So again, if you want to be privy to that, definitely,
- 2:41Speaker 1: go and sign up at our Patreon And also there's
- 2:43Speaker 1: been some hot goss. Yes, there's been some tea that's dropped.
- 2:46Speaker 1: That also, I think is a bit inappropriate to discuss
- 2:50Speaker 1: while we are recapping the episodes, and we will include
- 2:53Speaker 1: that as well in the after show, So if you're
- 2:57Speaker 1: a vip raccoon, make sure you stay tuned for that.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Yes, because I know we got a lot of comments
- 3:02Speaker 2: last week about how we were being too nice and
- 3:05Speaker 2: giving a lot of grace, but we really are trying
- 3:07Speaker 2: to be respectful given the nature of this, like the
- 3:11Speaker 2: subject nature and Garrison's passing is really tragic and sensitive,
- 3:15Speaker 2: and like we don't want to be too critical, but
- 3:17Speaker 2: at the same time, we do want to be critical, right,
- 3:20Speaker 2: So we'll save it for Patreon. So go join us
- 3:23Speaker 2: in the vip dumpster. There's a lot of like bonus
- 3:26Speaker 2: juicy trash up there. I promise it's worth it.
- 3:29Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, that's why we're doing it. We're just
- 3:31Speaker 1: we're trying not to be completely and totally rotted, yeah,
- 3:34Speaker 1: which we normally are around this. We don't want to be,
- 3:37Speaker 1: so we hope you understand. Okay, So we are going
- 3:41Speaker 1: to be recapping again season nineteen, episode twenty.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Four, entitled Blessed Are Those Who Mourn? Yeah, it's a
- 3:49Speaker 2: pretty somber episode. It's definitely all about everyone's grief and
- 3:54Speaker 2: how they're handling the grief of Garrison's passing, like leading
- 3:57Speaker 2: up to his memorial and his ultimate burial. It looks
- 4:01Speaker 2: like next episode we're gonna be burying him, but I
- 4:06Speaker 2: guess he's also cremated at the same time. I don't
- 4:09Speaker 2: know how that works. I guess they're burying ashes. I
- 4:11Speaker 2: don't know, but we're gonna get to that in the
- 4:13Speaker 2: next episode. A couple people have commented on YouTube saying
- 4:16Speaker 2: that this was gonna be a three parter, and they
- 4:18Speaker 2: are definitely right. Okay, I don't know if next week's
- 4:21Speaker 2: episode's going to be the last one, if like we're
- 4:23Speaker 2: gonna end the season like that or.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I think we should.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I think we should too, But I don't know if
- 4:28Speaker 2: there's going to be another because I think there was
- 4:29Speaker 2: like rumors that it was gonna be like twenty six
- 4:32Speaker 2: episodes or twenty eight episodes for this season, and.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Just like twenty eight episode, we just like, is it
- 4:38Speaker 1: the Tellos already? Like damns?
- 4:40Speaker 2: Okay, but yeah, so I don't know if next week's
- 4:42Speaker 2: going to be the last one, but we'll see. But
- 4:45Speaker 2: this week we started off in North Carolina at Maddie's house.
- 4:48Speaker 2: I think Caleb is like saying a prayer at the
- 4:51Speaker 2: dinner table. It's been a few weeks since garrisonce passing.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Janelle has been planning the memorial, and she's obviously emotional
- 4:59Speaker 2: but still remaining stoic. And they discussed talking about discuss
- 5:05Speaker 2: talking discuss taking Garrison to Wyoming, because that's where they
- 5:09Speaker 2: want to bury him, in that little Wyoming cemetery out
- 5:14Speaker 2: there level.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Which I think is very wholesome. Yes, And they talk
- 5:18Speaker 1: a lot about how Garrison spent a good amount of
- 5:22Speaker 1: time in Wyoming as a child, and when Cody and
- 5:26Speaker 1: the original three wives first got together, they lived part
- 5:30Speaker 1: of that time in Wyoming, which I think I kind
- 5:33Speaker 1: of knew, but I always just associated them with Lehigh
- 5:37Speaker 1: Ye being in Utah's So apparently there's like a very
- 5:39Speaker 1: deep connection not just with Cody, but with Garrison to
- 5:42Speaker 1: the ranch that they would visit every year, and they
- 5:45Speaker 1: would work at the ranch and learn the value of
- 5:48Speaker 1: hard work, and so he had a real connection to
- 5:50Speaker 1: that and so I think it's a great choice. I mean,
- 5:52Speaker 1: I'm happy for them if they're happy me too.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's pretty wholesome that they're doing that
- 5:57Speaker 2: and that the whole family is going to get together
- 5:59Speaker 2: for that. But we'll tell talk more about that later.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And then we kind of bop over to Salt Lake
- 6:04Speaker 2: City in Utah with Christine and David, and this is
- 6:09Speaker 2: where we get to kind of hear more from Christine
- 6:12Speaker 2: and how she's dealing with the grief and everything. I
- 6:14Speaker 2: guess she talks to Janelle all the time, so she's
- 6:17Speaker 2: keeping up to date with how Janelle's feeling and checking
- 6:19Speaker 2: in on her. And Christine talks about how she's really
- 6:23Speaker 2: grateful that Garrison was able to make it to her
- 6:25Speaker 2: wedding so she has all of those photos, which is
- 6:27Speaker 2: really great. And then she talks about going to a
- 6:31Speaker 2: movie where like a father lost his son and she
- 6:35Speaker 2: just like lost.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It, right. I guess it was a movie where the
- 6:38Speaker 1: father had been in a coma and he woke up
- 6:40Speaker 1: and said, where's my son? And his son had passed,
- 6:43Speaker 1: and so that really struck Christine. And she's talking to David,
- 6:47Speaker 1: and I just really liked to see their connection here
- 6:51Speaker 1: and their relationship because David, for as light as he
- 6:55Speaker 1: is and as fun as he is and kind of
- 6:57Speaker 1: care free, he also has his own personal history with
- 7:01Speaker 1: losing someone this way. His wife also killed herself and
- 7:06Speaker 1: he had to deal with that. And as he's talking
- 7:08Speaker 1: to the camera, it's been I think twelve years is
- 7:10Speaker 1: what he says, like he's still tearing up about it.
- 7:13Speaker 1: His children, of course, are still and will always be
- 7:16Speaker 1: affected by it, and so this is just something that
- 7:19Speaker 1: happens sometimes in families. And I loved how David took
- 7:24Speaker 1: care of Christine in this moment because it's never happened
- 7:27Speaker 1: to her, I don't think. And also this is one
- 7:29Speaker 1: of her children that she raised, and so I can't
- 7:32Speaker 1: imagine what Janelle's going through, but I also can't imagine
- 7:36Speaker 1: what Mary and Christine are going through. And so I
- 7:38Speaker 1: was glad he was there.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Me too, and he's just you could see how he's
- 7:42Speaker 2: her rock, and he's actually like emotionally supportive and like
- 7:45Speaker 2: engaging in the conversation with her and being there for her,
- 7:48Speaker 2: and it's just like something that Cody could never be.
- 7:52Speaker 2: And so I'm glad that Christine has David in this moment,
- 7:55Speaker 2: and she discusses some of her feelings surrounding this, like
- 7:58Speaker 2: how she's never going to be a grandma to Garrison's
- 8:01Speaker 2: children and she just isn't going to be able to
- 8:03Speaker 2: see what he turns into. And then this leads into
- 8:06Speaker 2: another discussion about how important it is to keep in touch,
- 8:11Speaker 2: in regular touch with the kids, because I guess there
- 8:14Speaker 2: were times where she would go like a month or
- 8:17Speaker 2: so without talking to Garrison, and she's like, it's a
- 8:19Speaker 2: real tragedy, and you can tell that she genuinely regrets that.
- 8:24Speaker 2: And I guess she talked to him a couple weeks
- 8:25Speaker 2: before he passed, and he was like really excited about
- 8:29Speaker 2: starting nursing school and stuff like that. He was on
- 8:32Speaker 2: like a good track, and that makes her really emotional
- 8:37Speaker 2: kind of recounting that, And she's just discussing that with David,
- 8:40Speaker 2: and David's just being her rock and being really supportive
- 8:44Speaker 2: and just trying to be there for her.
- 8:45Speaker 1: And asking questions, yeah, like tell me about him, like
- 8:48Speaker 1: what was he like, and so just opening the floor
- 8:51Speaker 1: for her to share her feelings and her memories. And
- 8:54Speaker 1: I just thought that that was a wonderful way to
- 8:57Speaker 1: see a relationship like a healthy relationship, something that Christine
- 9:01Speaker 1: again has never had. And in the last episode, you know,
- 9:05Speaker 1: we've got her talking about how her and David have
- 9:07Speaker 1: their issues and of course sometimes they squabble, but at
- 9:10Speaker 1: the end of the day, they're partners. Yeah, they are
- 9:12Speaker 1: there for each other, and you really do see that
- 9:14Speaker 1: in that segment, definitely.
- 9:16Speaker 2: And then the last portion that we have in Utah
- 9:19Speaker 2: is Christine and David in their backyard. I guess Garrison
- 9:24Speaker 2: had built some planter boxes or he'd taught truly how
- 9:27Speaker 2: to build them or whatever, and so they're using those
- 9:29Speaker 2: planter boxes to plant some flowers and stuff. And then
- 9:32Speaker 2: they also planted a tree in their backyard, a Sedona
- 9:36Speaker 2: Midnight tree.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Well, it's a willow tree that they named Sedona Midnight
- 9:40Speaker 1: after Garrison's stripper name if you were to be a stripper,
- 9:43Speaker 1: which is really funny, and that's a sense of humor.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and that kind of they get into that
- 9:48Speaker 2: a little bit throughout the episode of just how Garrison
- 9:51Speaker 2: was really lighthearted and really funny and liked to push
- 9:54Speaker 2: the boundaries with his humor, and so they want to
- 9:57Speaker 2: have fun in a way of remembering him, and so
- 10:01Speaker 2: they planted this tree and named it sit Down a Midnight,
- 10:04Speaker 2: which I thought was really sweet and a good way
- 10:06Speaker 2: to remember him. And it seems like with Christine, like
- 10:11Speaker 2: while she has been historically really emotional on the show,
- 10:15Speaker 2: she's really trying to keep it together here, which I
- 10:17Speaker 2: commend her for because it's really hard to like do
- 10:20Speaker 2: that in this kind of a context. But anyway, she's
- 10:24Speaker 2: doing her own thing to memorialize Garrison, and I thought
- 10:28Speaker 2: that was really sweet.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I love that idea just personally, Like when I pass,
- 10:33Speaker 1: I do not want to be buried. I did not
- 10:34Speaker 1: want to have a coffin or anything like that. If anything,
- 10:37Speaker 1: I would be cremated, but I would love to be
- 10:39Speaker 1: turned into a tree.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Oh and you can do that.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I know That's what I would love. And like you
- 10:43Speaker 1: can go sit under the tree and you can talk
- 10:45Speaker 1: to me if you want to, or Jeremy can go
- 10:46Speaker 1: out and bee on it if you want whatever, But
- 10:49Speaker 1: like you can go out there and actually have a
- 10:51Speaker 1: moment in memory of whoever that person is, and plus
- 10:54Speaker 1: you help the earth. And I would love that for myself.
- 10:56Speaker 1: And so I personally loved this sentiment too.
- 11:00Speaker 2: On a midnight Me too. I thought it was really
- 11:01Speaker 2: really sweet, and then we bop on over to Paiwan
- 11:04Speaker 2: just for like a brief scene with Mary and her
- 11:07Speaker 2: lesbian lover Jen, and Mary and Jen are like joking
- 11:11Speaker 2: about something or other about the curtains matching the drape.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Right, and Mary's pretending she's never heard that joke before, Like, Okay,
- 11:20Speaker 1: come on, Mary, I know you had a banana in
- 11:22Speaker 1: your mouth. Yeah, talking to some other man who ended
- 11:25Speaker 1: up being a woman. Yeah, don't play coy with me, right.
- 11:29Speaker 2: So funny. But then they get into a discussion about
- 11:32Speaker 2: Garrison and his passing, and Mary feels really sad about
- 11:38Speaker 2: it because it took his passing for the whole entire
- 11:42Speaker 2: family to like actually get together because they haven't really
- 11:45Speaker 2: been together for quite some time for many years, as
- 11:48Speaker 2: we all know, with COVID and all of the bullshit
- 11:50Speaker 2: that happened with that. And that made me really sad
- 11:53Speaker 2: because it really shouldn't take a loss like this to
- 11:57Speaker 2: bring the family all together. And it reminded me of
- 11:59Speaker 2: my own fan because my family is really broken and
- 12:02Speaker 2: we're all spread out across the country, and when my
- 12:05Speaker 2: grandparents passed away in COVID, everybody got together and it
- 12:10Speaker 2: was like the first time we were all together in
- 12:12Speaker 2: like fifteen years, and it was really ridiculous because it's like,
- 12:15Speaker 2: why do we have to wait for something like this
- 12:18Speaker 2: to happen for us all to get together? And that
- 12:20Speaker 2: was the last time we all got together. Like after that,
- 12:23Speaker 2: we don't Nobody talks to each other, right, Nobody hangs
- 12:26Speaker 2: out with each other. And so I really felt that,
- 12:28Speaker 2: I really felt Mary's pain with that, because you can
- 12:30Speaker 2: see her break down in this scene as she talks
- 12:33Speaker 2: about that, And I like, I don't want to say
- 12:36Speaker 2: I like seeing Mary cry, because I don't. I don't
- 12:38Speaker 2: like seeing anybody cry, but I like seeing genuine emotion
- 12:41Speaker 2: show from her because she's always walls up and I'm
- 12:44Speaker 2: just like, I want more of this, Mary. Yeah, it's
- 12:46Speaker 2: okay to be a vulnerable person. Sure, we're all human beings.
- 12:49Speaker 2: We all have feelings, Like it's okay to let your
- 12:50Speaker 2: guard down a little bit.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Yeah, And like just the way that she jokes with Jen,
- 12:54Speaker 1: you know, I suspect I'm a lot more like her
- 12:57Speaker 1: than she lets on because she likes to present, you know,
- 13:01Speaker 1: very proper or very buttoned up, very closed off. But
- 13:05Speaker 1: I think underneath the layers, like she's probably got a
- 13:07Speaker 1: body sense of humor, and she probably laughs a lot,
- 13:10Speaker 1: and she probably feels things really intensely, and I agree,
- 13:13Speaker 1: I wish she would show that more. And yeah, that
- 13:15Speaker 1: was her ultimate sentiment. You know, this is just like
- 13:18Speaker 1: Garrison to kind of bring us all together in this way.
- 13:22Speaker 1: And they talked a little bit again about Mary's response
- 13:26Speaker 1: when she heard the news, because again she had been
- 13:29Speaker 1: on the couch giving an interview when Cody was texting
- 13:32Speaker 1: her and she was ignoring him, which I loved. But
- 13:35Speaker 1: then of course she got the message that it was
- 13:37Speaker 1: an emergency, here's the news about Garrison, and her first
- 13:41Speaker 1: thought is like, okay, Janelle, like what do I do?
- 13:45Speaker 1: How do I handle the situation? She calls Jen who
- 13:48Speaker 1: is shocked by the news as well, but is of
- 13:50Speaker 1: a clearer mind, and just tells her, like, we'll get
- 13:52Speaker 1: some food and go to Janelle because Janelle happened to
- 13:55Speaker 1: be in Flag stuff at the time, and like, just
- 13:58Speaker 1: go feed people and be there. And that is exactly
- 14:00Speaker 1: what Mary did. That is the exact kind of thing
- 14:03Speaker 1: you want to do in a situation like that. And
- 14:05Speaker 1: because she did that, and because she wasn't walls up,
- 14:09Speaker 1: closed off, she was able to see all of the kids, right,
- 14:12Speaker 1: because it sounds like everybody came. Yeah, even Leon. Yeah,
- 14:17Speaker 1: I mean that's that's pretty great. I mean I don't
- 14:19Speaker 1: know if Leon was there, but I think Leon showed
- 14:21Speaker 1: up and all of the kids were there. So that
- 14:24Speaker 1: gave Mary an opportunity to maybe heal some relationships. We
- 14:28Speaker 1: know that in the last episode she talked about going
- 14:32Speaker 1: over to Robin's and seeing Gwen, and you know, they
- 14:34Speaker 1: had some issues as well, according to Gwen on her Patreon,
- 14:38Speaker 1: So like having that moment where they could be together
- 14:40Speaker 1: was very healing and you love to hear it, Yes.
- 14:43Speaker 2: We do love to hear it even in the midst
- 14:45Speaker 2: of a tragedy like this, like good things can still
- 14:48Speaker 2: come out right, like and the family can still come together,
- 14:50Speaker 2: which is important. And then we fast forward after this
- 14:54Speaker 2: four months later, after Garrison's passing, and we have Cody
- 14:59Speaker 2: and Robin, their vampire children, driving to Cody, Wyoming, where
- 15:05Speaker 2: they're going to stay for like a family vacation type
- 15:09Speaker 2: of a thing, because they're also going there to bury Garrison,
- 15:13Speaker 2: and I guess they're allegedly bringing Garrison's ashes to Wyoming.
- 15:18Speaker 1: That's what they're saying. Although we will discuss in the
- 15:21Speaker 1: after show some of the information that's coming through about that.
- 15:25Speaker 1: But yeah, you know, they're showing these scenes of the
- 15:29Speaker 1: car heading up to Wyoming, and Robin says something like,
- 15:33Speaker 1: you know, Garrison's our passenger, He's traveling with us, And
- 15:37Speaker 1: I just had to wonder to myself and perhaps diabolically,
- 15:42Speaker 1: but I had to wonder, like, would Garrison have wanted that?
- 15:46Speaker 1: Would Garrison have wanted to be a passenger in your
- 15:48Speaker 1: car versus Janelle's car or with Maddie or Logan, Like,
- 15:52Speaker 1: I don't know that just that was my thought. Again,
- 15:54Speaker 1: I'll elaborate later, but this whole segment, or the couple
- 15:59Speaker 1: of segments that featured Cody and his family and Cody
- 16:02Speaker 1: just really hit me. The rock way bit dry me too.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I'm like, are we going on a family vacation right now?
- 16:08Speaker 2: Like?
- 16:08Speaker 1: Yeah, why are we going into a coach? Why are
- 16:11Speaker 1: we gonna go watch a show? Why are we talking
- 16:14Speaker 1: about Buffalo Bill ice cream? Why are we also making
- 16:17Speaker 1: it all about you and Robin caretaking Cody because.
- 16:21Speaker 2: She's so worried about Cody.
- 16:23Speaker 1: He's gonna be sad at Graveside. I'm like, of course, yeah,
- 16:26Speaker 1: you're going to the grave side and that's what happens.
- 16:29Speaker 1: People feel things. But like she's not talking about Garrison
- 16:33Speaker 1: at all, No, not at all, I can hear again,
- 16:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna pull back because I don't want to be inappropriate,
- 16:37Speaker 1: but I didn't hear a lot or anything from Robin
- 16:41Speaker 1: about her experience of Garrison.
- 16:44Speaker 2: None.
- 16:45Speaker 1: And there she's on the couch again, trying to force
- 16:48Speaker 1: out a tear. I know, like, why would you do
- 16:50Speaker 1: that when you know we're all watching you and in
- 16:53Speaker 1: this moment especially, we're watching you and you're trying to
- 16:56Speaker 1: squeeze out a tear and there are no tears beaddris.
- 16:59Speaker 2: I just don't understand it. This whole scene in Cody,
- 17:03Speaker 2: Wyoming was just really aggravating for me, and I will
- 17:06Speaker 2: save it for the after show. But Robin did say
- 17:08Speaker 2: something interesting where she said, I think the grave site
- 17:13Speaker 2: will be sad, Like I think going to the gravesite
- 17:15Speaker 2: will be sad. I'm like, what do you mean you think?
- 17:17Speaker 2: Like it is objectively sad?
- 17:20Speaker 1: It's a sad thing can psychopath. Sorry, I will save
- 17:23Speaker 1: it and let me just say again, like we normally
- 17:26Speaker 1: share everything on the General Pod, but because of the
- 17:31Speaker 1: subject matter, we feel it would be more appropriate to
- 17:34Speaker 1: just talk about this in front of the Patreon raccoons.
- 17:37Speaker 1: We're not trying to hide anything from you all. We're
- 17:38Speaker 1: not trying to withhold anything from you all. We just
- 17:40Speaker 1: want to be more appropriate, that's all.
- 17:42Speaker 2: We just want to be sensitive to the important thing here,
- 17:45Speaker 2: which is Garrison's passing. And we don't want to be
- 17:48Speaker 2: like spewing a bunch.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Of vitriol right.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Like on the internet and reaction to that, because I
- 17:53Speaker 2: don't know if that would be good for him and
- 17:55Speaker 2: his memory. So yeah, but just know that's why.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Just know that's the reason and why.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and everything that you're feeling and thinking.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Hmmm, we agree. So while we're in Cody, we go
- 18:06Speaker 1: to an ice cream shop. While we are in Cody,
- 18:09Speaker 1: we get on to some sort of carriage or a
- 18:12Speaker 1: coach as a family. While we are in Cody, we
- 18:15Speaker 1: go out to dinner.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Oh.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Before we do that, though, we go on a tour
- 18:20Speaker 1: of downtown Cody, and we see all of the signs
- 18:25Speaker 1: that Cody Brown sold to these various businesses, because that
- 18:28Speaker 1: was one of his first jobs. And it's not like
- 18:30Speaker 1: he designed the signe. No, it's not like he created
- 18:33Speaker 1: the science or built the science. He just sold the signs,
- 18:35Speaker 1: I'm sure for some sort of a commission. But like
- 18:37Speaker 1: the way he walks up and down these streets, just
- 18:40Speaker 1: bragging about these signs. And we even go into some saddlery, Yeah,
- 18:44Speaker 1: Keith's saddlery or something like that, and talk to this
- 18:47Speaker 1: guy who builds saddles, and I'm like, why are we
- 18:49Speaker 1: Why are why are we having this scene right now?
- 18:53Speaker 1: What does this have to do with the overarching theme
- 18:56Speaker 1: of Garrison's passing? Why are we doing this right now?
- 19:00Speaker 2: No idea? And then we have a discussion about how
- 19:02Speaker 2: Cody was named after Buffalo Bill, I guess, and how
- 19:06Speaker 2: his dad changed Cody from with a sea to a
- 19:10Speaker 2: k because he wanted to be unique. I'm like, I
- 19:11Speaker 2: literally don't care.
- 19:13Speaker 1: And I literally don't care. Something when Cody says that
- 19:16Speaker 1: Buffalo Bill was a bit of a showman and an entertainer,
- 19:20Speaker 1: Cody Robin kind of smiles and says, well, don't you
- 19:23Speaker 1: think you're kind of like that too, which I thought
- 19:25Speaker 1: was pretty interesting and funny because he is an entertainer.
- 19:28Speaker 1: He has no substance. He is just a showman. Yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 1: But he denies it that he does deny it, which
- 19:33Speaker 1: I guess he's entertaining. I mean, I like to entertain you.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Rody, I guess yeah, I'm like okay.
- 19:38Speaker 1: And all the children are just sitting around and like
- 19:40Speaker 1: what's happening, just.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Eating their food and looking vacants. Yes, because they're not
- 19:44Speaker 2: supposed to be awake during the day, if you know,
- 19:51Speaker 2: you know. And then we have like a scene at
- 19:53Speaker 2: the end of all of this with Cody talking about
- 19:56Speaker 2: how they need to do happy things as a way
- 20:00Speaker 2: of processing the loss of Garrison, and he does kind
- 20:05Speaker 2: of break down a little bit into some tears, but
- 20:08Speaker 2: we'll talk about that later.
- 20:10Speaker 1: As if he's trying to get ahead of criticism he
- 20:13Speaker 1: knows will come in because they're showing all of this
- 20:16Speaker 1: footage of him comforting with his family through quoty Wyoming,
- 20:19Speaker 1: And so maybe he isn't so dumb that he doesn't
- 20:22Speaker 1: realize that a lot of us are gonna be going
- 20:23Speaker 1: why are we watching this right now? Why aren't you
- 20:25Speaker 1: still Why aren't you doing what Janelle and Mary and
- 20:28Speaker 1: Christine are doing, which is talking about Garrison right and
- 20:30Speaker 1: you're they're in Wyoming for a reason. Why aren't we
- 20:33Speaker 1: talking more about that? So it says if he wanted
- 20:36Speaker 1: to do damage control. Within the same episode that we.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Watch, Yeah, because then he also says that Garrison's photo
- 20:43Speaker 2: will always be in his garage, so that way he
- 20:46Speaker 2: will always be able to see him and remember him.
- 20:50Speaker 2: And I have some feelings about that mm hmmm, because
- 20:53Speaker 2: I just I'm just like, why is it in your
- 20:54Speaker 2: garage though, Like, why can't you just like bring it inside?
- 20:57Speaker 2: Why can't it be above the fireplace, like where you
- 21:00Speaker 2: see it every single day in your office? Maybe his
- 21:03Speaker 2: garage or his workshop is his office, Okay, but it
- 21:06Speaker 2: does feel like Garrison can't come in the house. Yeah,
- 21:10Speaker 2: just like in the last few years of his life
- 21:12Speaker 2: he wasn't able to come into.
- 21:13Speaker 1: The house exactly. Again, I don't want to be rude.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I don't want to be rude either, but I didn't
- 21:18Speaker 2: like it. And then we end the episode in Flagstaff.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Janelle goes back to flag Staff to help Little Savannah
- 21:25Speaker 2: pack up because I guess she wants to move in
- 21:28Speaker 2: with Maddie and Caleb and Janelle out in North Carolina.
- 21:32Speaker 2: So Janelle's over at I think her old dorm apartment.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Yeah, No, it was the second the second Yeah, after
- 21:39Speaker 1: the dorm apartment. It was the nicer apartment right.
- 21:41Speaker 2: That Savannah has been living in while she was going
- 21:44Speaker 2: to college or whatever. So Janelle's there to help her
- 21:46Speaker 2: pack up, and Janelle talks about Savannah seeing the property
- 21:52Speaker 2: that they just bought in North Carolina. I guess she
- 21:55Speaker 2: has seen it before, but she hasn't like spent some
- 21:57Speaker 2: significant time there, so it'll be cool for her to
- 22:00Speaker 2: go there and enjoy it and see the plans of
- 22:03Speaker 2: like building their houses and stuff out there and starting
- 22:05Speaker 2: a farm. Janelle makes a comment about how Garrison didn't
- 22:09Speaker 2: get to see the property, which is really sad, and
- 22:11Speaker 2: then this kind of segues into a comment Janelle makes
- 22:15Speaker 2: about how her and Savannah are kind of cut from
- 22:19Speaker 2: the same cloth and Maddie and Maddie from their mom
- 22:22Speaker 2: I think, or Janelle's mom, where they're all very stoic.
- 22:25Speaker 2: They're not demonstrative in their emotions, but they do feel
- 22:29Speaker 2: them very deeply. They're just not like super expressive, especially
- 22:33Speaker 2: in public, which makes sense. Like I said last week,
- 22:36Speaker 2: not everyone grieves the same way, not everyone expresses their
- 22:38Speaker 2: emotions the same way, and that's all completely valid. We're
- 22:41Speaker 2: all different that way, unless you're Cody and Robin. But
- 22:45Speaker 2: so Janelle and Savannah are packing up, and then I
- 22:50Speaker 2: guess they're talking about like moving into Maddie's house, so
- 22:53Speaker 2: I guess Savannah's going to be living there.
- 22:55Speaker 1: They're all going to be living in Maddie and Caleb's house,
- 22:58Speaker 1: so every single bedroom is spoken for, and I know
- 23:02Speaker 1: Janelle is wanting to make sure that she and Savannah
- 23:06Speaker 1: contribute equally to the house, like they're doing the laundry,
- 23:09Speaker 1: they're doing the dishes, they're helping around the space with
- 23:11Speaker 1: the grandkids and all of that. So they're just they're
- 23:13Speaker 1: all going to be living together. And although I'm sure
- 23:16Speaker 1: that is going to be a huge adjustment for everybody,
- 23:18Speaker 1: I also think that it's perfect me too, for everybody,
- 23:21Speaker 1: and it's probably exactly what they need is to be together, definitely,
- 23:25Speaker 1: And I wish Gage would get over there. I was
- 23:27Speaker 1: just about to say, to Escape a girlfriend. I know
- 23:29Speaker 1: I see him from time to time, like on social media,
- 23:32Speaker 1: and there's a girl with him, but I don't know
- 23:34Speaker 1: if he's currently got a girlfriend.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I know Hunter does, Yeah, he definitely does. But Hunter's
- 23:40Speaker 2: not in flag Staff anymore though, right He's on the
- 23:42Speaker 2: East coast.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Somewhere.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Yeah, So I don't know if Gabe has some Is
- 23:46Speaker 2: he in Flagstaff or is he.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I thought he was. Yeah, I believe he was in
- 23:50Speaker 1: flag Staff at least at this time. I don't know
- 23:52Speaker 1: where he is right now in the Year of Our
- 23:53Speaker 1: Lord twenty twenty five. Yeah, but it'd be great if
- 23:55Speaker 1: he could also maybe head on over to the East
- 23:58Speaker 1: coast or to North Carolina to be closer to family. Yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 1: because he's so sensitive. I know's he's this big heart
- 24:04Speaker 1: with you know, arms and legs, and he's feeling so
- 24:08Speaker 1: deeply and I just want him to have the support.
- 24:11Speaker 1: But maybe he does. Maybe he's got a girl, maybe
- 24:13Speaker 1: he's got friends. I don't know.
- 24:14Speaker 2: I'm hoping he does. And I think last episode they
- 24:16Speaker 2: said he was in therapy, which is good because he
- 24:18Speaker 2: needs it, and I mean all of them do. So
- 24:20Speaker 2: I hope he's okay. But little Savannah's going to move
- 24:23Speaker 2: in with mom and sister and all that, which is
- 24:25Speaker 2: going to be great. And then after they pack up everything,
- 24:28Speaker 2: then they head over to High Country Humane Society.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I loved this me too, Can I just say it
- 24:34Speaker 1: right at the top. I just thought that this was
- 24:36Speaker 1: so great for Janelle and that Janelle was courageous enough
- 24:41Speaker 1: to show these emotions, which it's very difficult for her
- 24:45Speaker 1: to demonstrate. And she's like, I mean the problem that
- 24:50Speaker 1: like the thing that gives her the problem is talking,
- 24:53Speaker 1: like she's feeling it, but like when it comes to
- 24:55Speaker 1: actually speaking, she has a very difficult time. But she
- 24:58Speaker 1: goes nonetheless, and she allows us to go with her
- 25:00Speaker 1: to the Humane Society where I just girl when I
- 25:04Speaker 1: heard how many people donated to the Humane Society, not
- 25:09Speaker 1: just this humane society, but the other humane societies in
- 25:12Speaker 1: that local area, and people also donated to their own
- 25:16Speaker 1: humane societies, their local ones across the nation in the
- 25:20Speaker 1: name of Garrison Brown. And then people from other countries,
- 25:23Speaker 1: I know, international raccoons I know were donating money. I
- 25:26Speaker 1: think they said they made like twenty five thousand dollars
- 25:30Speaker 1: from the donations just to that, just to the main society,
- 25:33Speaker 1: which allowed them to like sponsor cat adoptions for the
- 25:39Speaker 1: month of March thirty six. Yeah, they adopted thirty six
- 25:42Speaker 1: kiddies out, which is so beautiful and you know Garrison
- 25:45Speaker 1: would love.
- 25:45Speaker 2: That of course. Yeah, so it made me really really
- 25:48Speaker 2: happy with this scene. I thought it was really wholesome,
- 25:50Speaker 2: even though it was kind of sad.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Oh my god, I was crying. Oh my god, my
- 25:54Speaker 1: eyes were leaking me.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Too, because they go to the room. So the High
- 25:58Speaker 2: Country Humane Society dedicated like a whole room to Garrison.
- 26:02Speaker 2: They have a memorial plaque on their wall and everything
- 26:04Speaker 2: for him because they raised so much money from his
- 26:09Speaker 2: passing and everything. Everybody's donating to it. And yeah, they
- 26:13Speaker 2: just have a discussion about adopting out the cats and everything,
- 26:16Speaker 2: and Janelle talks about how much Garrison loved his cats.
- 26:19Speaker 2: He had three of them, So do you I know
- 26:22Speaker 2: of three cats?
- 26:23Speaker 1: But he just kept adopting right like me, go to
- 26:26Speaker 1: like those events where they were adopting out kiddies and
- 26:29Speaker 1: he just go to check it out, and inevitably he'd
- 26:31Speaker 1: end up with one of his kiddies. And so he
- 26:34Speaker 1: had three cats. The first one was cathw.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Yes, which I love my name. I love that so much.
- 26:39Speaker 1: My next cat is Cashew, and I'm like, oh, no, Matthew.
- 26:42Speaker 1: But for a catt, he's a twenty five pound tom.
- 26:47Speaker 1: And then he adopted Patches, so the little girl kitty.
- 26:51Speaker 1: And then the third one was toward the end and
- 26:53Speaker 1: I forget the name of this kiddens, I think, but
- 26:56Speaker 1: something like that, Oh my god, yeah, I love that
- 26:59Speaker 1: about him. Yeah, he had a big old heart.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Yeah. And Mary even says that she's like, I mean,
- 27:04Speaker 2: what a heart this kid had to like just care
- 27:07Speaker 2: about animals so much, care about people, care about people.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I think Christine made a comment about how Garrison really
- 27:14Speaker 2: had a tender spot for like the disenfranchised and people
- 27:18Speaker 2: in need and everything, which was really really sweet. Just
- 27:21Speaker 2: speaks to his character. And I just loved that this
- 27:25Speaker 2: is where his legacy is, you know, and just in
- 27:29Speaker 2: the humane societies and adopting cats and everything. And I'm
- 27:32Speaker 2: glad that we spotlighted this. And Janelle was visibly sad
- 27:37Speaker 2: and upset, but at the same time, I really happy
- 27:39Speaker 2: and moved.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Yes, And you know, I'm sure it was such a
- 27:43Speaker 1: moment for her because all of the parents from Sister
- 27:47Speaker 1: Wives catch so much grief on social media, and I'm
- 27:51Speaker 1: sure she's heard every critique under the sun, and so
- 27:54Speaker 1: it was just a great moment for her to hear
- 27:58Speaker 1: from the representative from the Humane Societ, like how many
- 28:00Speaker 1: people have actually sent messages and money And I was
- 28:04Speaker 1: just like such a blessing and I loved to just
- 28:07Speaker 1: see her face as she heard about it. Yes, we
- 28:10Speaker 1: love you, Janelle. Yes we do criticize, but we're watching
- 28:12Speaker 1: a show, but we love you.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, everyone loves you.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Everyone loves you. And Savannah, I love you.
- 28:18Speaker 2: I know Gabe, Babe Escape's talking about.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I guess Gabe has Kathy. Yeah, he took ca of you,
- 28:24Speaker 1: and Logan took patches yep, and I'm not sure who
- 28:27Speaker 1: took buttons.
- 28:28Speaker 2: I think one of the other family members did at least.
- 28:31Speaker 2: So everyone's taking care of Garrison's cats, which is really beautiful.
- 28:35Speaker 2: And I loved this segment. I loved that this was
- 28:37Speaker 2: in his memory and that this humane society benefited so
- 28:40Speaker 2: much in his name. That's like really amazing because humane
- 28:44Speaker 2: societies don't make a lot of money. A lot of
- 28:46Speaker 2: the time, they're losing a lot of money, So like
- 28:48Speaker 2: twenty five thousand dollars is like massive, and the fact
- 28:51Speaker 2: that they were able to sponsor so many adoptions is
- 28:53Speaker 2: really fucking awesome. Yeah, so adopt, don't shot. Yeah, So
- 28:57Speaker 2: it was a really sweet way to end this episode,
- 28:59Speaker 2: even though really somber and sad.
- 29:02Speaker 1: But yeah, there was no preview at least that I
- 29:05Speaker 1: saw for next week. Although you had seen on Instagram
- 29:08Speaker 1: there was a preview of the grave side or.
- 29:11Speaker 2: It was like a very brief scene. I guess they're
- 29:13Speaker 2: just going to bury him, and so it's the burial.
- 29:16Speaker 2: I don't think we're going to be seeing the memorial,
- 29:19Speaker 2: so because I don't think that was filmed, even though
- 29:21Speaker 2: there were cameras there, because we saw the photos.
- 29:23Speaker 1: From there was like a funeral and then there was
- 29:27Speaker 1: a military memorial. Yeah, and so I think the photos
- 29:30Speaker 1: that we all saw last year, the was the military memorial,
- 29:34Speaker 1: and I don't believe cameras were allowed or were there. Yeah,
- 29:38Speaker 1: but I don't know anything about it. And that's what
- 29:41Speaker 1: we're actually going to be talking about in the after
- 29:43Speaker 1: show because some information came in about cameras at the
- 29:47Speaker 1: funeral slash memorial, and there is some talking that we
- 29:50Speaker 1: need to do about that.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Ye.
- 29:52Speaker 1: But some bittersweet moments bitter with Cody, yeah, in CDIA Wyoming, Yeah,
- 29:58Speaker 1: but sweet with Savannah and Janelle and Mary and Christina
- 30:02Speaker 1: and David.
- 30:03Speaker 2: The actual feeling members of the family, Yeah, that actually
- 30:07Speaker 2: have empathy and capacity for love. So yeah, that's it
- 30:10Speaker 2: for the recap, So we'll get into the after show.
- 30:13Speaker 1: We'll get into the after show. We realized that these
- 30:17Speaker 1: episodes are a little shorter, but that's because there's not
- 30:21Speaker 1: a ton here other than you know, what we've talked about,
- 30:25Speaker 1: and we don't want to like be labored too many
- 30:27Speaker 1: things because again, this for me is like a sacred
- 30:30Speaker 1: subject yea, and we want to be careful. I'm sure
- 30:32Speaker 1: when we get to those tell alls look backs, talk backs,
- 30:35Speaker 1: we're going to be having longer conversationations. But that's why
- 30:38Speaker 1: this is a little shorter.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry about that.
- 30:40Speaker 1: So is there anything else that we need to say
- 30:43Speaker 1: before we get up on that of here to go
- 30:45Speaker 1: into our after show?
- 30:46Speaker 2: Bitches, Well, if you love our podcast, please be sure
- 30:49Speaker 2: to go to your favorite podcast platform and leave us
- 30:51Speaker 2: a glowing five star review. Really helps us grow the
- 30:54Speaker 2: pod so we can get we really appreciate it, so
- 30:57Speaker 2: thank you.
- 30:58Speaker 1: We're doing a good job with you know I am.
- 31:01Speaker 1: We're going to be back later this week to talk
- 31:04Speaker 1: Polly Family, So if you want to like talk and
- 31:08Speaker 1: laugh and go crazy like, that's probably the episode to watch.
- 31:12Speaker 1: But until then, please do not forget that we have
- 31:14Speaker 1: nothing but love for you, and also that we're going
- 31:16Speaker 1: to stay on for the vip raccoons, and please, oh
- 31:21Speaker 1: my ba
