- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Deep into the earth I go.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Deep into the earth I know.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: Deep into the earth I go.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: Deep into the earth I know.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Hold my hand, sister.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: Hold my hand.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Hold my hand, brother.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Hold my hand.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: Hello, sweethearts.
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: Hello, pumpkins.
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: Hello, out there.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: Hi, out there.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: Let's stay together.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: Let's stick together.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: Let's keep connecting.
- 1:41SPEAKER_02: I'm singing that song because...
- 1:43SPEAKER_02: I wanted to sing it as we went deep into the woods on Friday night in
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: a show I was doing in the woods.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: But I forgot because there was so much that the audience brought with them
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: and guiding the audience through a little hole I'd made in the bushes took all
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: of my attention.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: So just for a sense of completion,
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: I'm singing that now and And if you came out into the woods with me, thank you.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much.
- 2:17SPEAKER_02: And if you didn't, I hope you come next time.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: The next one's on the 23rd of October.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: Get in touch and I'll give you the location.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: But oh, what to say about all of that.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: I've been avoiding doing this pod for lots of reasons.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: I got a message from a friend after the last pod saying that she felt that when
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: a close friend had died that part of us goes out with them and
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: that she didn't think I'd come back yet.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: So I've been thinking about that and then the longer I leave a pod the more kind
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: of disparate the strands get and the more I have to say But that's what's life
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: for me at the moment, being in the woods, telling stories on Friday night.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: And I made the wrong prayer.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: I made a prayer for people to get out into the woods.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: That was my intention.
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: I wanted people to get out into the woods.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: And that definitely happened.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: A friend came the week before.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: She'd got the date wrong.
- 3:17SPEAKER_02: Four people came but couldn't find us.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: I didn't make a clear enough prayer about us being all in the woods together,
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: having a shared experience and for the ritual for the storytelling
- 3:31SPEAKER_02: to go really well.
- 3:33SPEAKER_02: And it was a great stumble trip.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: About the woods,
- 3:37SPEAKER_02: but I had forgotten,
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: I'm rusty, you know, that kind of maverick outdoor storytelling.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: I'd forgotten how to really hold and care for the audience and I don't feel I did
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: a really great job of that, of really...
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: I'm thinking about,
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: I'm kind of rubbing my hands right now,
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: just thinking about kind of creating this kind of depth and softness and safety
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: for them to really get involved.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: And I realised that's what I want to do.
- 4:08SPEAKER_02: I want to support people to have
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: really connected, playful, energising, healing relationships.
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: Fantastic experiences in the woods.
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: So that's my prayer for next time.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: And we're past the equinox now and it does feel like the time that we're going deep
- 4:31SPEAKER_02: into the earth,
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: or at least I can feel a part of me that's going deep into the earth.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: And there's been lots of talk about this winter and I don't know
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: if you've had this message someone's telling me about,
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: you know, keep storing things in your house because...
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: Because why?
- 4:51SPEAKER_02: I'm not really sure actually because all kinds of different things could be going wrong.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: But what I am noticing and what I've noticed is that when we're frightened,
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: we're really easy to control and that we've been controlled through fear.
- 5:08SPEAKER_02: I certainly feel like I've been controlled through fear through most of my life.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: So, So I think the first thing,
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: the first way for us to really,
- 5:20SPEAKER_02: really look after ourselves is to keep kind of shaking off the fear and coming
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: into our hearts and really making sure that we're well resourced in lots
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: of different ways.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: What does being really well resourced look like for us, for me, for you?
- 5:40SPEAKER_02: And I've been thinking about that and my I know my life goes much better
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: when I'm connected on the inside and part of being connected on
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: the inside is really kind of looking after my little places.
- 5:57SPEAKER_02: I recently had a sexual encounter.
- 6:03SPEAKER_02: It's just been a long time for me and I've dallied with different things,
- 6:06SPEAKER_02: but I had a sexual encounter and after the event...
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: The guy said to me, oh, we didn't have a chat about sexual health.
- 6:17SPEAKER_02: And I said, oh, you don't need to worry about that.
- 6:20SPEAKER_02: It's been years since I've had sex.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: And I said, all you need to worry about is cobwebs, which he looked a little bit startled about.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: And then he said to me, why haven't you had sex for years?
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: That's, you know, why haven't you?
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: And I said, oh, I just get really obsessed and attached to people.
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: And then he started...
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: He started to freak out.
- 6:43SPEAKER_02: But that's not why I'm telling you this.
- 6:44SPEAKER_02: I'm telling you this because somewhere in this process,
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: I became in connection with a part of myself that she's about six
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: and she's completely wrapped in bubble wrap.
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: That's how I saw her.
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: She was like wrapped in bubble wrap and And she doesn't,
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: she feels very safe in this bubble wrap,
- 7:09SPEAKER_02: but she's kind of ignoring the fact that she can't breathe,
- 7:12SPEAKER_02: she can't see, she can't feel.
- 7:14SPEAKER_02: And I feel like that fear place makes me nervous.
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: So I've been unraveling and unwrapping her from her bubble wrap and pulling in light
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: and wool and breathable,
- 7:33SPEAKER_02: nourishing things to wrap around her that can make her feel safe and comfortable,
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: but also to feel.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: I think it's very scary to feel right now because there's so much to feel.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: And so I'm doing things a little bit at a time and I'm thinking,
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: wow, OK, there's a very young part in me.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: What does she need?
- 7:55SPEAKER_02: What does she want?
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: Through this winter, through this winter time.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: And I got to dancing.
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: I want to dance.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: I really want to dance.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: So I've joined a Morris dancing side.
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: And it's not a hanky waving.
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: I mean, they might wave hankies, but you know what I mean, side.
- 8:13SPEAKER_02: It's a really energetic,
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: powerful side called the Savage Sisters, which reminds me of this song, you know...
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: I am my mother's savage
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: daughter, the one who runs barefoot cursing sharp stones.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: I am my mother's savage daughter, I will knock up my hair, I won't lower my voice.
- 8:41SPEAKER_02: So I've sung it very badly there.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: And at the end,
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: I'm going to play your recording,
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: which I haven't asked permission for,
- 8:47SPEAKER_02: but I am going to play it because Windrith,
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: who wrote that song,
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: she's unwell, she's got dementia and she's got a GoFundMe page to support her.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: So I'm going to play it at the end and I'll link the GoFundMe page
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: because I think it's a really, really...
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: A song that's gone deep into the psyches of us savage daughters
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: and I'm sure there's lots of people out there that would like to support her.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: And that song I sang at the beginning was by Teresa and I'm hoping I've emailed her
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: to ask if I can play her version.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: I'm hoping by the end of recording this podcast she's got back to me.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: And all this is stirring in my story pot and it's stirring because one of the people
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: that I collaborated with in the woods told me that they get very,
- 9:34SPEAKER_02: very cold in the winter and very,
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: very cold in the morning and that they think that's because they were in
- 9:40SPEAKER_02: an incubator as a baby.
- 9:44SPEAKER_02: And so my pot stirs.
- 9:46SPEAKER_02: I'm thinking about the story of the Princess Blankets,
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: who is so cold that the king says that it's by Carol Ann Duffy.
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: It's not a traditional story.
- 9:58SPEAKER_02: It's a picture book story.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: Beautiful story by Carol Ann Duffy.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: So the king says,
- 10:07SPEAKER_02: if anyone could make my daughter warm,
- 10:09SPEAKER_02: Then they can have anything they want, even unto half my kingdom.
- 10:13SPEAKER_02: So this wizard comes,
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: and I remember in the book,
- 10:15SPEAKER_02: he's got a face, a nose like an aubergine, and he says, how cold are you?
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: And she doesn't want him to win her.
- 10:24SPEAKER_02: So she's making these challenges.
- 10:27SPEAKER_02: She says I'm as cold as ice and he gathers up all the ice in the world and he throws
- 10:32SPEAKER_02: on a blanket.
- 10:33SPEAKER_02: I think that's the last one that kind of nearly kills her.
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: She says I'm as cold as the earth and he pulls up all the earth so
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: that no one can bury their dead and no one can plant their flowers and he flings
- 10:43SPEAKER_02: on her.
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: She says I'm as cold as the ocean and he scoops up All the water and like this,
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: these blankets until she's completely stuck under all these blankets
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: and he goes off.
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: But the world is ravaged as our world is and is being ravaged.
- 11:05SPEAKER_02: And then I was thinking about the story of Tam Lin.
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: Tamlin goes into Fairy World and I was thinking about those stories where you go
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: into Fairy World and you think you're there for a short amount of time but
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: when you come back up lots of time has passed.
- 11:20SPEAKER_02: I've talked about this before as a motif and I was just thinking
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: about telling stories in the woods having these two stories going on where
- 11:28SPEAKER_02: the world is being ravaged whilst this I feel like we,
- 11:31SPEAKER_02: I, I'm in my own enchanted dream.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: I was talking to my friend, Stu,
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: this morning,
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: I'm going to play a poem from him later,
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: and I was saying,
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: I feel like it's just so entrenched in me,
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: kind of, don't you worry your pretty little head, someone else will look after it.
- 12:01SPEAKER_02: It's still quite stuck in me,
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: and then it oscillates between, well,
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: maybe I'm not attractive enough to be cared for,
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: to be looked after,
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: where the kind of male Caring,
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: structured aspect in me is completely
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: inexperienced and I want to bring that out of
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: the dream and into the earth and connect it with my feminine
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: so
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: that they can walk together for the rejuvenation of the planet.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: And that's the story that I'm working on.
- 12:36SPEAKER_02: For my next woodland story...
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: It's very much, you can hear me, can't you?
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: I'm in an absolute kind of jumble jumble on the inside with my creativity
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: and that's how it works,
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: a seed of an idea,
- 12:50SPEAKER_02: another seed of an idea, dreaming, walking, going back to the woods.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: Working with different musicians, with whoever comes in to collaborate on this job.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: And in this last story sharing,
- 13:04SPEAKER_02: this mythic walk I did in the woods,
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: I had a section where we played a version of Grandmother's Footsteps and I realised
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: that I hadn't created enough safety and enough sense of play and coherence for
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: the whole audience to get involved and I suddenly got it kind of standing
- 13:29SPEAKER_02: by these trees looking down at a group of people,
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: how important it is for us in our lives to have this sort of Flexibility
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: and lightness of play that helps us to respond to different situations,
- 13:44SPEAKER_02: that helps us to see things,
- 13:46SPEAKER_02: to keep us agile in all different ways and connects with our innocence
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: and our younger places.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: So that's something I want to be working on this winter to just create such safety
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: within the stories that I tell,
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: that the audience can unravel, unpack,
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: that they can play,
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: that they can grieve,
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: that they can feel,
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: that they can laugh,
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: that they can have a really big experience within the community.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: The field of the story that I'm telling.
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: I know that that's possible because of the power of the women who run with
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: the wolves groups that I have run,
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: where we go through every story in the women who run with the wolves book
- 14:33SPEAKER_02: and we use ritual, we use intention, you know, and they're very deep.
- 14:36SPEAKER_02: Containers, don't get me wrong.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: And you can come.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: I've got one starting on the 2nd of November in Glastonbury.
- 14:43SPEAKER_02: So if you're local and you want to come, it's over seven weeks.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: We meet up every week for seven weeks and go through the stories.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: And I know that a group of people, a group of strangers meeting in the woods are not going to...
- 14:58SPEAKER_02: I have that depth but I do feel like there's a lot more that I can bring
- 15:03SPEAKER_02: and I'm really excited about that to these one-off events.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: So in the spirit of bringing my dreamer and I mean dreamer in the sense
- 15:15SPEAKER_02: of absence not a dreamer in the sense of
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: Creation and listening to the liminal,
- 15:23SPEAKER_02: I mean that bubble wrapped child who doesn't want to see or hear anything.
- 15:29SPEAKER_02: I'm going to play you Stu, my friend Stu's poem.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: And I've left the preamble in because I like the contrast between his preamble and the poem.
- 15:41SPEAKER_02: Anyway, let me play it for you.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: Thank you for coming, being part of this emergency public assembly in the Green Gathering.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: Really appreciate you all coming and being here and being here
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: on this beautiful afternoon, taking your time.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: I'm Stu Basden.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: I'm one of the co-founders of Extinction Rebellion.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: Other things as well involved in fabric as well as the revolution in
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: the 21st century or Rev 21 as it's called.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: I'm going to give a little bit of a talk,
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: the intro,
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: and then pass over to Roger,
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: then he passes back to me,
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: and then we'll have an assembly and break into groups at that point,
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: chat about stuff and figure out what we're doing.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, final reminder, take care of yourself, put sunscreen on if you need.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: If you at the back can't hear me at any point,
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: do a hand signal, really obviously, to get us to speak up.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Because keeping our voices loud can be difficult.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: And if you can't repeatedly hear, move yourself forward.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: And then you'll get closer and be able to hear, hopefully.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: What the fuck?
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: What the fuck, 2026?
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: What the fuck when the year starts with the news that
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: the Venezuelan president has been kidnapped and an entire country has been pirated
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: for oil?
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: What the fuck?
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: The peace president bombs Iran.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: And blows up a hundred kids in a fucking school on the first fucking day.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: What the fuck?
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: A civilization will die tonight.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: What the fuck?
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: A Gaza ceasefire with 10 people murdered every single day and they insist
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: on calling it a ceasefire.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: What the fuck, a global pedo network controls the politicians and the people making decisions?
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: Fuck Epstein, swipe.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: What the fuck, the Enhanced Games?
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: What the fuck, ICE?
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: A mobilized thug army with no accountability murdering people,
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: murdering the black community,
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: the Hispanic community, and whoever the fuck they want.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: What the fuck, swipe.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: What the fuck, hydration breaks at FIFA so they can make more ad money?
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: What the fuck, drone warfare?
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: What the fuck, Palantir?
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: What the fuck, a trillionaire?
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: Back in 2018,
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: as we were mobilizing for Extinction Rebellion, the UN IPCC came out with a report.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: You might remember it.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: 12 years, they said.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: We've got to do stuff in 12 years to avert a 1.5 degree world.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: Eight years later, we're fucking there at 1.5.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: And we're still speeding up.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: What the fuck, Burnham?
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: More North Sea oil drilling?
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: What the fuck, El Nino next year promising 1.7 degrees or more?
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: What the fuck, Scotland's Cairngore Mountains, the sub-arctic conditions are burning?
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: What the fuck Bordeaux and France and Spain scorched and burning all over with fire.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Swipe.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: What the fuck.
- 20:04SPEAKER_02: And as my friend said, that was a while ago.
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: So there's a few more what the fucks between then and now.
- 20:10SPEAKER_02: And I wonder what your what the fucks are.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: And I'm going to,
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: when I finish this pod,
- 20:14SPEAKER_02: just write down all my what the fucks for my life,
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: for For my community,
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: for my child,
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: for my sisterhood,
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: for my family,
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: for the earth,
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: for the soil of the earth, for my people who live on this planet with me.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: What is going on?
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: Like really opening my eyes to what is going on and
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: Allowing the fear because I think it's like I just shut down
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: because I don't know how to cope with the feelings.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: And then there's the feeling of hopelessness that I can't do anything about it.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: But I can because there's so many ways to come back to life.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: I think it's about coming back to life.
- 21:02SPEAKER_02: And the ways I'm coming back to life is by reaching out to my community,
- 21:07SPEAKER_02: getting to know my neighbours, gardening.
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: And really trusting myself, my instincts and my life.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: So if there's any ways that you can do any other suggestions you've got,
- 21:21SPEAKER_02: let's keep sharing our thinking,
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: deepening our experiences,
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: reaching out for what we want and what we need and collaborating.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: Let's keep pulling people in and turning up to other people's lives.

- 21:44SPEAKER_02: and she was saying how children aren't joining clubs anymore.
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: They're all going home on their computers.
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: And I was thinking, well, are we,
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: as adults, are we role modelling joining clubs, being with people, playing?
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: Well, I don't think we are.
- 21:59SPEAKER_02: That was one of the reasons that led me to join the Morris dancing side.

- 22:20SPEAKER_02: We're together through the winter with stories.
- 22:23SPEAKER_02: Join me somehow.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: I'd really love to have you.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: But for now, have a listen to this fantastic song.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: And if you can donate to her GoFundMe, then please do.
- 22:43SPEAKER_03: I am my mother's savage daughter, the one who runs barefoot cursing sharp stones.
- 22:51SPEAKER_03: I am my mother's savage daughter.
- 22:54SPEAKER_03: I will not cut my hair.
- 22:57SPEAKER_03: I will not lower my voice.
- 23:02SPEAKER_03: My mother's child is a savage.
- 23:05SPEAKER_03: She looks for her omens in the colors of stones,
- 23:09SPEAKER_03: in the faces of cats,
- 23:11SPEAKER_03: in the fall of feathers, in the dancing of fire and the curve of old bones.
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: I am my mother's savage daughter, the one who runs barefoot cursing sharp stones.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: I am my mother's savage daughter, I will not cut my hair, I will not lower my voice.
- 23:36SPEAKER_03: My mother's child dances in darkness and sings heathen songs by the light of
- 23:43SPEAKER_03: the moon and watches the stars and renames the planets and dreams she can reach them
- 23:50SPEAKER_03: in some kind of room.
- 23:52SPEAKER_03: I am my mother's savage daughter, the one who runs barefoot, cursing sharp stones.
- 24:00SPEAKER_03: I am my mother's savage daughter, I will not cut my hair, I will not lower my voice.
- 24:11SPEAKER_03: My mother's child curses too loud and too often.
- 24:15SPEAKER_03: My mother's child laughs too hard and too long and howls at the moon and sleeps
- 24:22SPEAKER_03: in ditches and clumsily raises her voice in this song.
- 24:27SPEAKER_03: I am my mother's savage daughter, the one who runs barefoot cursing sharp stones.
- 24:35SPEAKER_03: I am my mother's savage daughter.
- 24:38SPEAKER_03: I will not cut my hair.
- 24:40SPEAKER_03: I will not lower my voice.
- 24:45SPEAKER_03: Now we all are brought forth out of darkness and water,
- 24:49SPEAKER_03: brought into this world through blood and through pain.
- 24:53SPEAKER_03: And deep in our bones the old songs are waking, so sing them with voices of thunder and rain.
- 25:01SPEAKER_03: We are our mothers, savage daughters, the ones who run barefoot cursing sharp stones.
- 25:09SPEAKER_03: We are our mothers, savage daughters, we will not cut our hair, we will not lower up.
- 25:17SPEAKER_03: We are our mothers, savage daughters, the ones who run barefoot cursing sharp stones.
- 25:25SPEAKER_03: We are our mothers,

- 25:35SPEAKER_03: savage daughters, the ones who run barefoot cursing sharp stones.
- 25:41SPEAKER_03: We are our mothers, savage daughters, we will not cut our hair, we will not lower our voice.
