- 0:00Speaker 1: Time out for back to the basics in healthcare with
- 0:02Speaker 1: Balanced Life Chiropractic. We have doctor Harley joining us, Hey
- 0:05Speaker 1: doing doctor Harley.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey, John. I'm doing great. Unfortunately, not so great because
- 0:09Speaker 2: summer's almost over. I know that's so fair.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I demand a recount.
- 0:14Speaker 2: But it's been a fun summer.
- 0:15Speaker 1: It has been. And we're going to talk about my
- 0:17Speaker 1: favorite topic, today's sports. Okay, it's maybe not my.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Favorite time and a little more forecasts. I got a
- 0:22Speaker 2: little bit.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I am not a sports guy, but I know there
- 0:25Speaker 1: are a lot of people that are very into sports.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And anytime, you know, I'll have like an issue of
- 0:31Speaker 1: this day, I'm like, oh, it's an old sports injury,
- 0:33Speaker 1: and my wife will laugh it's like, it's not an
- 0:34Speaker 1: old sports injury.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Yeah. I Sports is a huge part of a lot
- 0:38Speaker 2: of people's lives and either adults or kids. I myself
- 0:41Speaker 2: was very active in sports growing up, and that's actually
- 0:44Speaker 2: how I got into chiropractic was due to a really
- 0:46Speaker 2: bad ankle injury of head ribs out of place. Going
- 0:49Speaker 2: to my chiropractor, getting adjusted and being able to play
- 0:53Speaker 2: pretty quickly because my body was recovering faster was huge.
- 0:57Speaker 2: So that's what like sporting injuries, we see recovery time
- 0:59Speaker 2: really increase that people are able to get back to
- 1:02Speaker 2: doing what they love and you actually get to see
- 1:04Speaker 2: that on a grand scale. Right now, every Olympic athlete
- 1:07Speaker 2: has access to chiropractic, which is really cool. You know,
- 1:11Speaker 2: that's like the biggest stage for athletics right now.
- 1:13Speaker 1: We know some people who live in Brandon who are
- 1:16Speaker 1: at the Olympics right now. Their daughter is one of
- 1:18Speaker 1: the Olympians.
- 1:18Speaker 2: How cool is that? That's awesome? Yeah, Like it's it's
- 1:21Speaker 2: so cool to see like just how much these athletes
- 1:23Speaker 2: put work into being the best that they can be.
- 1:27Speaker 2: And you know, you see even some of them having injuries.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I know a Smone Biles, the gymnast was having some
- 1:31Speaker 2: issues with like a calf earlier in the week. And
- 1:35Speaker 2: you know they have pets, they have cairos, they have
- 1:37Speaker 2: athletic trainers, so they have all these things to help
- 1:39Speaker 2: them get back into, you know, competing at the highest level.
- 1:42Speaker 1: So how do they pick the chiropractice and those people
- 1:45Speaker 1: like could you have done that? Could you have said
- 1:46Speaker 1: I want to be the one of the goes.
- 1:48Speaker 2: I would had to have like done more training and
- 1:51Speaker 2: you know work at like the Olympic Village and stuff
- 1:54Speaker 2: in Colorado Springs, like the Olympic Training Centers and stuff
- 1:57Speaker 2: like that. You know, when I was younger before chiropractic,
- 2:01Speaker 2: that was kind of like that had been really cool,
- 2:02Speaker 2: but you know, I like seeing more of the local
- 2:05Speaker 2: athletes working with kids and stuff like that, so kind
- 2:08Speaker 2: of more hometown field.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Well, we're glad you're here because we need you here
- 2:12Speaker 1: as well. So the nice thing is there are people
- 2:14Speaker 1: listening that. Again, I was just kidding around when I
- 2:16Speaker 1: was like, this is my favorite subject. I don't dislike sports.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I'm just not like a big sports guy. So I've
- 2:22Speaker 1: never been involved. But I know like everybody I know
- 2:25Speaker 1: is involved in some sort of sport. Everybody's kids there
- 2:27Speaker 1: in this or they're in that. I've got sisters that
- 2:30Speaker 1: have kids that are in every single sport, so I
- 2:32Speaker 1: know it's a big deal.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Yeah, And even if you're you have a sporting injury
- 2:36Speaker 2: or you just want to take your game to the
- 2:38Speaker 2: next level, chiropractic can help you with that because we're
- 2:40Speaker 2: going to help your body heal faster, function better. It's
- 2:43Speaker 2: just going to improve, you know, all the things that
- 2:45Speaker 2: you need to do. With sports, and.
- 2:47Speaker 1: If somebody listening is going, Okay, I've got a high
- 2:50Speaker 1: school student that's involved in all of these different sports
- 2:52Speaker 1: that would be an ideal person to utilize chiropractic as well.
- 2:57Speaker 1: If they're not already doing.
- 2:57Speaker 2: That, it wouldn't it right? I mean, I wish I
- 3:00Speaker 2: would have gotten to the chiropractor more when I was
- 3:01Speaker 2: in high school. I just I didn't know. I only
- 3:03Speaker 2: went when I had injuries. But I always dealt with like,
- 3:06Speaker 2: you know, sore muscles, aches and pains that just wouldn't
- 3:09Speaker 2: get better until I was done with you know, that season.
- 3:12Speaker 2: But after learning what chiropractic can do and how can help,
- 3:15Speaker 2: you know, I wish I would have known more about
- 3:17Speaker 2: that at that point.
- 3:18Speaker 1: If somebody listening would like to learn more, maybe they
- 3:21Speaker 1: just want to come in and find out if it's
- 3:22Speaker 1: right for them. What does that process look like, how
- 3:24Speaker 1: do they get a hold of you, and where do
- 3:25Speaker 1: they even start?
- 3:26Speaker 2: Just like becoming a new patient in any doctor's office
- 3:29Speaker 2: is really going to start with the conversation, doing some
- 3:30Speaker 2: paperwork so we can find out more about what's going
- 3:32Speaker 2: on with you. You know, what are your goals? What
- 3:34Speaker 2: are your health goals? You know, why are you coming in?
- 3:36Speaker 2: What would you like to achieve by seeing us? And
