- 0:00Speaker 1: Houston and across the great state of Texas.
- 0:02Speaker 2: This is KCBQ.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Anything at all.
- 0:11Speaker 3: No, it's crazy. Welcome to the Thunderdome, people.
- 0:14Speaker 4: News, opinions, politics, and the stories that matter to Texans.
- 0:19Speaker 5: I shaved for this?
- 0:21Speaker 1: Here are your hosts, Craig Collins and Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:25Speaker 6: Remember, everyone, just don't be yourselves.
- 0:27Speaker 3: On KSEV AM 700, The Voice of Texas.
- 0:31Speaker 7: Yes!
- 0:32Speaker 1: That's awesome!
- 0:33Speaker 2: Thunderdome! Thunderdome!
- 0:38Speaker 8: And now, Craig Collins and Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:47Speaker 1: That's right.
- 0:48Speaker 9: It is KSEV mornings.
- 0:50Speaker 1: My name is Craig Collins.
- 0:52Speaker 9: Wayne Dolcefino is on special assignment for the day. He
- 0:57Speaker 9: was planning on being here. I think he will be
- 0:59Speaker 9: here tomorrow, which is going to be fun. And I
- 1:02Speaker 9: definitely look forward to a discussion with Wayne tomorrow. But
- 1:06Speaker 9: there is a lot of stuff to talk about. The biggest,
- 1:08Speaker 9: most gigantic thing out there in the actual news to
- 1:11Speaker 9: talk about is what happened yesterday in Dallas, because for
- 1:17Speaker 9: whatever reason, and I don't think it's a bad reason,
- 1:20Speaker 9: as you heard Dan Patrick say yesterday, it's probably going
- 1:24Speaker 9: to be the kind of thing that we see a
- 1:25Speaker 9: crap ton of moving forward all the time.
- 1:29Speaker 1: In the world of the.
- 1:31Speaker 9: Midterms and doing conventions just like we do during presidential
- 1:35Speaker 9: election years.
- 1:36Speaker 1: So there's a lot to talk about there.
- 1:38Speaker 9: Before that, though, I do have a special guest I'd
- 1:40Speaker 9: like to bring on, and we're not going to talk
- 1:42Speaker 9: about the breaking news. I promised to get to that
- 1:44Speaker 9: at like 7.15, 7.30 this morning. But there is a
- 1:48Speaker 9: pretty cool event coming up, and the president of Texas Values,
- 1:52Speaker 9: Jonathan Sinez, is with us.
- 1:54Speaker 1: How are you doing, Jonathan?
- 1:56Speaker 10: Good morning. I'm doing great.
- 1:58Speaker 1: So tell me a little bit more.
- 1:59Speaker 9: I've never been to the event before. I do intend
- 2:01Speaker 9: to go this year for the first time. That's no
- 2:04Speaker 9: offense to you. I'm a fairly new Texan. So tell
- 2:07Speaker 9: me what people can expect.
- 2:08Speaker 1: If they go to this.
- 2:10Speaker 10: Well, as someone who was born and raised in Houston,
- 2:12Speaker 10: I will do my best to make it worth your while.
- 2:16Speaker 10: But I don't think it'll be hard for me to
- 2:18Speaker 10: convince you once you've left the event that it was
- 2:21Speaker 10: worthwhile because most of the people that have come to
- 2:24Speaker 10: this event for the first time have left and said,
- 2:26Speaker 10: It changed their life. They're coming back next year, even
- 2:29Speaker 10: reporters that have been a part of the event. But
- 2:31Speaker 10: just before we get into the details of the event,
- 2:34Speaker 10: I want to take a minute to acknowledge that sadly
- 2:37Speaker 10: today is the anniversary of the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Yes,
- 2:40Speaker 10: it is. I remember our event last year that we
- 2:43Speaker 10: have every year is the ninth year to have it,
- 2:45Speaker 10: Texas Faith Fest. You can go to the website TexasFaithFest.com
- 2:49Speaker 10: or TXValues.org. And I remember we were coming right off
- 2:53Speaker 10: of that. It had just been a week or two
- 2:56Speaker 10: before that Charlie Kirk had been assassinated. As a matter
- 2:59Speaker 10: of fact, the day after 9-11, as we know, I
- 3:03Speaker 10: was driving into Houston to the northwest part of the area,
- 3:07Speaker 10: going to a meeting with Cypress Fair Republicans and talking
- 3:11Speaker 10: about this issue and still just being in shock. And
- 3:14Speaker 10: the reason I mention that is for a variety of reasons.
- 3:17Speaker 10: Number one, the organization that we run, Texas Values, is
- 3:20Speaker 10: centered on the issues of faith, family, and freedom. We
- 3:23Speaker 10: know those were so important to Charlie Kirk. We also
- 3:27Speaker 10: know how important it is for people to feel not
- 3:31Speaker 10: only the value but the importance of them speaking out
- 3:33Speaker 10: in public, talking about important issues, and challenging the status
- 3:38Speaker 10: quo or what people think is true when oftentimes it's not.
- 3:42Speaker 10: And so it's sad to wake up this morning and
- 3:44Speaker 10: think about that it's been a year and that Charlie
- 3:47Speaker 10: Kirk has actually been gone forever. and in such a
- 3:50Speaker 10: brutal and violent way. But there is a pathway forward.
- 3:54Speaker 10: But I do think it's appropriate to take that moment
- 3:57Speaker 10: this morning and acknowledge the importance of his life and
- 4:00Speaker 10: legacy and why we need to carry that on.
- 4:03Speaker 9: And his importance of his advocacy for faith. Charlie Kirk,
- 4:07Speaker 9: to me, is someone that was so intentionally misunderstood by
- 4:12Speaker 9: anyone that disliked him And all you had to do
- 4:15Speaker 9: was watch a very simplistic five, 10 minute, even a
- 4:19Speaker 9: highlight video of the way he conducted himself with others.
- 4:22Speaker 9: He had firm beliefs. There is no denying that. But
- 4:25Speaker 9: he was very much grounded in his faith. And he
- 4:28Speaker 9: was very compassionate, in my opinion, to everyone he talked
- 4:31Speaker 9: to in the sense of a willingness to hear their
- 4:34Speaker 9: entire point and then provide his entire point back. And
- 4:37Speaker 9: so it was an utter tragedy when it would be anyway,
- 4:41Speaker 9: if someone were shot and killed in that horrific of
- 4:43Speaker 9: a fashion. but even more so, I think, for a
- 4:46Speaker 9: conversation that's incredibly needed with young voters that centers around faith.
- 4:51Speaker 9: And I imagine that's one of the bigger things that'll
- 4:53Speaker 9: be a part of the Texas Faith Fest is having
- 4:57Speaker 9: Brandon Gill as one of your guests and how well
- 5:00Speaker 9: of a job he did last night. Like, great move there,
- 5:03Speaker 9: because I do think you're bringing in that sensibility that
- 5:07Speaker 9: seems to be missing in younger generations that really does
- 5:11Speaker 9: a lot to to push us in a better direction
- 5:14Speaker 9: as a society.
- 5:16Speaker 10: No, I think you're absolutely right. And the goal of
- 5:18Speaker 10: the event is to educate, motivate, and activate people on
- 5:22Speaker 10: the issues of faith, family, and freedom. Most of it's
- 5:24Speaker 10: going to be centered around Texas. We are a state-based organization.
- 5:28Speaker 10: We're the Family Policy Council organization for the state of Texas.
- 5:31Speaker 10: We lead policy efforts, legal efforts. We're in the courts,
- 5:35Speaker 10: the legislature, and the media, really being a voice and
- 5:37Speaker 10: an advocate. I'm a licensed attorney. I've been practicing law
- 5:40Speaker 10: for over 20 years, so it's a lot of Legal
- 5:42Speaker 10: work we get involved in as well. But that will
- 5:46Speaker 10: be on center stage. And you're right. Brandon Gill would
- 5:48Speaker 10: be a big part of that because he's the keynote
- 5:52Speaker 10: speaker of our event. We booked him probably two or
- 5:54Speaker 10: three months ago. But we've had interaction with him before.
- 5:58Speaker 10: He's made some brief appearances at events. But, boy, the
- 6:00Speaker 10: guy is on fire right now. And, look, for a
- 6:04Speaker 10: year or so, he's been getting a lot of attention.
- 6:06Speaker 10: He's not afraid to call people out and tell the truth.
- 6:09Speaker 10: But this is an exciting opportunity. I'm just telling people,
- 6:12Speaker 10: come to this event on September 26th, TexasFaithFest.com to go
- 6:16Speaker 10: to the website or go to TexasValues.org because this is
- 6:19Speaker 10: probably your last chance to get this close to him.
- 6:22Speaker 10: Because in the next month or so, good luck getting
- 6:26Speaker 10: into an event and getting up close with Brandon Gill.
- 6:28Speaker 10: But that's what we're promising at TexasFaithFest.com. along with 15
- 6:32Speaker 10: to 20 other incredible speakers.
- 6:33Speaker 9: Yeah, well, and I do wonder, because he's a 32-year-old congressperson,
- 6:37Speaker 9: I think he's the youngest Republican within the Texas community.
- 6:43Speaker 9: And just honestly, he's another person that I think can
- 6:47Speaker 9: really lend his voice to all generations, can speak to
- 6:52Speaker 9: generations of people that might be more typically listening to
- 6:55Speaker 9: a faith-based message than the younger ones. Do you get
- 6:58Speaker 9: a lot of younger attendees to this event?
- 7:02Speaker 11: Oh, absolutely.
- 7:03Speaker 10: We definitely do. And we had a panel on the
- 7:06Speaker 10: young vote, the importance of younger voters and people being involved.
- 7:10Speaker 10: We have a lot of volunteers that are high school students,
- 7:13Speaker 10: including my kids, who often volunteer for the event and
- 7:16Speaker 10: bring some kids over from their school. But we had
- 7:19Speaker 10: a special panel on this last year, a little bit
- 7:21Speaker 10: about Charlie, but also about the importance of young people
- 7:24Speaker 10: being involved in these types of issues and having a voice.
- 7:27Speaker 10: And I think that's what we're seeing a lot of.
- 7:29Speaker 10: Young people really want to have a voice they want
- 7:31Speaker 10: to be involved, but they know that they got to
- 7:33Speaker 10: show up and vote. For a long time, the stats
- 7:36Speaker 10: have said young people don't, you know, they get all
- 7:38Speaker 10: fired up, but they don't actually go to the ballot box.
- 7:40Speaker 10: This generation is a little bit different, but we're going
- 7:42Speaker 10: to need that trend to continue. I mean, we've got
- 7:44Speaker 10: a big election coming up in November, even though a
- 7:47Speaker 10: lot of times people feel like Texas is safe. and
- 7:49Speaker 10: all these kind of things, we know that that's oftentimes
- 7:52Speaker 10: not true if the right people don't show up to
- 7:54Speaker 10: the ballot box.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Amen.
- 7:56Speaker 9: I know that you have a pretty special guest, a
- 7:58Speaker 9: volleyball player that played at San Jose State and now
- 8:01Speaker 9: is a big part of the Save Women's Sports group.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Can you tell me a little bit about Brooke?
- 8:07Speaker 10: Yeah, Brooke Flusser, just a phenomenal player. young athlete and
- 8:12Speaker 10: advocate and just courageous young woman who I like to
- 8:16Speaker 10: say she's like Riley Gaines' little sister, even though she's
- 8:18Speaker 10: a little bit taller than Riley. Because Brooke's a volleyball player,
- 8:22Speaker 10: Riley's a swimmer, but we've had Riley Gaines at our
- 8:25Speaker 10: event several times. But Brooke is from Texas, and we
- 8:28Speaker 10: worked with her last year. She helped us pass the
- 8:31Speaker 10: law that says you can't have men in women's shower rooms,
- 8:34Speaker 10: locker rooms, and bathrooms. And a big reason why is
- 8:37Speaker 10: because she's from North Texas, but she went to California
- 8:40Speaker 10: to play volleyball, and she was forced to have a
- 8:42Speaker 10: man not only on her team, she had to share
- 8:45Speaker 10: a hotel room with him, a locker room. This guy
- 8:48Speaker 10: was demanding for almost two years to be roomed with her.
- 8:53Speaker 10: And the guy did put enough makeup and disguise on
- 8:55Speaker 10: him that it was a little bit tough to tell
- 8:58Speaker 10: that he was actually a man. And a lot of
- 9:00Speaker 10: these girls, they believe what the coaches tell them. Why
- 9:02Speaker 10: should they have thought differently? But They knew. The coaches knew.
- 9:05Speaker 10: Many of them they were lied to. Brooke went through
- 9:07Speaker 10: this experience, but she's come out the other side of it.
- 9:09Speaker 10: But she left San Jose. She couldn't take it. It
- 9:12Speaker 10: was wrong. She's suing the NCAA. But her voice has
- 9:15Speaker 10: led to us passing state laws to protect young ladies
- 9:17Speaker 10: from these issues. And not only in Texas, but she's
- 9:20Speaker 10: having an impact across the country. She's going to be
- 9:23Speaker 10: one of our speakers. It's going to be incredible. TexasFaithFest.com.
- 9:26Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 9:27Speaker 1: And what I really like, I'm going to keep you
- 9:28Speaker 1: for a couple extra minutes. Don't worry.
- 9:29Speaker 9: We're going to go a little bit past 715 here.
- 9:32Speaker 9: But I do want to say that I love hearing
- 9:35Speaker 9: a message from these young women because a lot of
- 9:38Speaker 9: the rest of us who advocate for Which is so crazy.
- 9:41Speaker 9: By the way, it's crazy to me that the conservative
- 9:44Speaker 9: message right now is to advocate for women's sports, and
- 9:47Speaker 9: Democrats are the ones that are trying to attack it
- 9:50Speaker 9: by letting men play women's sports. But I love hearing
- 9:53Speaker 9: a message from the actual young people who are most impacted,
- 9:56Speaker 9: because I think that's the biggest way to convince someone.
- 9:59Speaker 1: to change any.
- 10:01Speaker 9: Sort of philosophy here that is a competing idea, is
- 10:05Speaker 9: to do it through the eyes of a parent watching
- 10:08Speaker 9: their kid attempt to compete at a sport and lose
- 10:11Speaker 9: to someone that they had no ability to defeat because
- 10:14Speaker 9: of a biological advantage.
- 10:16Speaker 1: It's surreal that this is actually a political discussion in 2026.
- 10:20Speaker 9: You'd think the side that is proud of being woke
- 10:23Speaker 9: would actually be for this, but they're not. And so
- 10:25Speaker 9: I love when we hear a message from the actual
- 10:28Speaker 9: impacted athletes. I know you also have Mays Middleton, who
- 10:31Speaker 9: will be there.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Maga Mays. I do really enjoy his campaign.
- 10:34Speaker 10: What a clever message.
- 10:35Speaker 7: Seriously.
- 10:40Speaker 9: And I do also think it's interesting to compare his vision,
- 10:43Speaker 9: the vision for Texas, to anyone else, to his opponent.
- 10:47Speaker 9: And honestly, we had Dan Patrick, the lieutenant governor, on yesterday,
- 10:50Speaker 9: and he went in 30 seconds through it. But what
- 10:53Speaker 9: do you think are some of the big messaging pieces
- 10:55Speaker 9: that will come out from Mays Middleton convincing people that
- 10:59Speaker 9: one side is sane and another side is crazy?
- 11:03Speaker 10: Well, one of the biggest responsibilities of the attorney general's office,
- 11:06Speaker 10: which Mays Middleton is running for, and beat the other
- 11:10Speaker 10: two or three strong candidates to earn this spot, and
- 11:13Speaker 10: he's been a leader in the Texas Senate, it's about
- 11:15Speaker 10: public safety in so many ways. It's about keeping people safe. Now, look,
- 11:18Speaker 10: we're all about freedom, but there are times when you
- 11:20Speaker 10: need the government to step in, too, and have your back.
- 11:24Speaker 10: And that means enforcing laws that you don't have men
- 11:27Speaker 10: going into women's bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms. You don't
- 11:30Speaker 10: have medical facilities, so-called hospitals that are transitioning kids, cutting
- 11:35Speaker 10: up their healthy body parts behind the backs of parents,
- 11:39Speaker 10: and sending women, shipping women to other states and countries
- 11:43Speaker 10: to have abortions to get around our laws, and enforcing
- 11:47Speaker 10: the border, making sure we don't have people illegally coming
- 11:50Speaker 10: into our states. from other countries and other places that
- 11:53Speaker 10: want to do us harm. You know, the guy's got
- 11:56Speaker 10: a legal background. Mays Middleton does. He's a licensed attorney himself.
- 11:59Speaker 10: He's going to do a phenomenal job. And he's got
- 12:02Speaker 10: the full backing of Republicans, conservatives, and probably a lot
- 12:05Speaker 10: of people in the middle all over the state.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:08Speaker 9: One last question, one last person, and then we will
- 12:09Speaker 9: let you go. And thank you for hanging out a
- 12:11Speaker 9: little bit extra. I know I only asked you for
- 12:12Speaker 9: about 15 minutes, but you have a judge that will
- 12:15Speaker 9: be speaking there.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Diane Hensley, I think is her name. She was punished.
- 12:20Speaker 9: For not performing specific weddings that her faith told her
- 12:24Speaker 9: that she couldn't support.
- 12:26Speaker 1: What do you expect from that panel?
- 12:28Speaker 9: And then the Texas Supreme Court vindicating her, probably being
- 12:32Speaker 9: a component to how people talk about even seeing her speak.
- 12:37Speaker 10: Well, and we're going to send out an email today.
- 12:38Speaker 10: We're going to do a special panel on pushing back
- 12:40Speaker 10: against Sharia law and a lot of those things that
- 12:42Speaker 10: have been happening. Because what you'll see at our event,
- 12:45Speaker 10: you will have some elected officials there that are grassroots
- 12:48Speaker 10: leaders like Brandon Gill and Mays Milton. But you're also
- 12:51Speaker 10: going to see the people that are in the middle
- 12:52Speaker 10: of the fight that maybe you haven't heard of as much.
- 12:55Speaker 10: I mentioned Brooke Slusser, Diane Hensley for years. has been
- 12:59Speaker 10: a judge in the central Texas area, minding her own business.
- 13:02Speaker 10: But people keep trying to force her to perform weddings
- 13:05Speaker 10: that go against her beliefs because they know– they've heard
- 13:07Speaker 10: that she is a traditional Christian. So for years she's
- 13:11Speaker 10: been defending her religious freedom rights, not getting a lot
- 13:13Speaker 10: of support in many ways. But the Texas Supreme Court
- 13:17Speaker 10: stood up and said, hey, the rule that applies to
- 13:19Speaker 10: this issue, she's been following. And the people that were
- 13:23Speaker 10: trying to punish her from the– that review judges on
- 13:27Speaker 10: these issues, which is a government entity, if you will, quasi,
- 13:30Speaker 10: they were wrong. And so she's now, years later, hung
- 13:33Speaker 10: in there, taking so much criticism. And we've had her
- 13:36Speaker 10: back for many years, too. Our friends at First Liberty
- 13:38Speaker 10: Institute have been representing her as her attorneys. So now
- 13:41Speaker 10: that she's won, she's going to be able to speak
- 13:43Speaker 10: more freely and talk about why we have to stand
- 13:46Speaker 10: firm on these foundational truths, like the biblical definition of marriage,
- 13:50Speaker 10: and how your religious freedom rights are protected, and people
- 13:54Speaker 10: will look out for you if you stand up.
- 13:55Speaker 12: Amen.
- 13:56Speaker 9: You mentioned Sharia law, so now I have to complete
- 13:59Speaker 9: that thought with you because it's out there.
- 14:00Speaker 1: You're adding a brand new panel? Yeah, we are.
- 14:03Speaker 10: Go ahead. It hasn't even been in— it' s been in the works,
- 14:07Speaker 10: but there's a lot of moving parts sometimes in these events.
- 14:09Speaker 10: And we're going to have a flash sale that goes
- 14:11Speaker 10: along with it. We want as many people there. There's
- 14:13Speaker 10: a half-off sale today we're going to announce by email, TexasFaithFest.com,
- 14:17Speaker 10: September 26th, because we want to pack the room, okay?
- 14:20Speaker 10: But we're going to have a special panel on how
- 14:22Speaker 10: we handle these issues of radical Muslims that want to
- 14:24Speaker 10: do us harm, that we know behind the scenes are
- 14:27Speaker 10: using Sharia law. They're trying to expand with all these
- 14:29Speaker 10: mosques all over the place, and many of them have
- 14:32Speaker 10: other motives that do not follow our law. So we've
- 14:35Speaker 10: got Carissa Richardson, the state representative from the North Texas area,
- 14:38Speaker 10: Brent Money, Andy Hopper, who's a state representative. They've been
- 14:41Speaker 10: leading on these issues in a lot of other parts
- 14:43Speaker 10: of the state. We're bringing in an expert from Texas.
- 14:46Speaker 10: an issue-based group that focuses a lot on these issues,
- 14:49Speaker 10: but we're going to have the conversation. People need to
- 14:52Speaker 10: know what's happening about these issues. And a lot of
- 14:54Speaker 10: people have seen the headlines, but they probably have sort
- 14:57Speaker 10: of maybe an all kind of dismissive or people are
- 15:00Speaker 10: exaggerating it. That's not the case at all. I think,
- 15:03Speaker 10: so we want people to know, here's what's going on.
- 15:06Speaker 10: Now decide why you want to do something and why
- 15:09Speaker 10: it's important. And so I'm really looking forward to that,
- 15:12Speaker 10: but that's coming out in an email today. And it's
- 15:14Speaker 10: going to be one of the most important panels of
- 15:17Speaker 10: the day for our September 26th TexasFaithFest.com. Got to get
- 15:20Speaker 10: your tickets now before it sells out.
- 15:22Speaker 1: There you go.
- 15:22Speaker 9: It is Texas Faith Fest, as he said. It is
- 15:25Speaker 9: September 26th. It is just outside of Austin, Texas. And TexasFaithFest.com, TexasFaithFest.com,
- 15:32Speaker 9: a great way. to go ahead and read all that information,
- 15:35Speaker 9: but actually also get your tickets. I think that Sharia
- 15:38Speaker 9: law panel is going to be very impactful and very,
- 15:41Speaker 9: very well attended.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I'm just going to guess that. Thank you. It was
- 15:44Speaker 1: a real pleasure talking to you, Jonathan. Go ahead.
- 15:47Speaker 10: Yeah, and remember, not only November election, but the legislative
- 15:49Speaker 10: session in Texas starts in January. This is a part
- 15:52Speaker 10: of getting ready for that.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Okay, cool.
- 15:53Speaker 9: All right, we'll talk to you again soon. I look
- 15:55Speaker 9: forward to seeing you at the event. We've got to
- 15:57Speaker 9: take a break. A lot coming up. This is KSEV Mornings.
- 16:00Speaker 9: My name is Craig Collins. Wayne Dolcefino is on special
- 16:04Speaker 9: assignment today. But a lot to get to involving Brandon Gill,
- 16:08Speaker 9: the politician just mentioned a moment ago as part of
- 16:11Speaker 9: the Texas Faith Fest event.
- 16:12Speaker 1: And absolutely, Jonathan's right about that.
- 16:15Speaker 9: Rising freaking star, Brandon Gill. So very difficult probably to
- 16:20Speaker 9: be in the same place as him if you don't
- 16:21Speaker 9: go to this event. But he crushed it last night
- 16:24Speaker 9: on a stage at the Republican National Convention. I have
- 16:28Speaker 9: a couple pieces of audio from him and a bunch
- 16:31Speaker 9: from Trump, including, of course... That offer for five grand
- 16:34Speaker 9: that I'm very happy about, too.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Quick break. A lot more KSV mornings. The voice of Texas.
- 16:53Speaker 13: Hi, this is Michael Miller.
- 16:55Speaker 14: Join me this weekend for the Backyard Bay radio program.
- 16:59Speaker 13: Now at our new time, Saturday mornings at 9 a.m.
- 17:03Speaker 15: Right here on AM 700 KSEV The Voice.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Hey, let me ask you a quick question. How many
- 17:09Speaker 2: times have you switched your health insurance in the last
- 17:12Speaker 2: few years? How many times have you wanted to switch
- 17:14Speaker 2: your health insurance the last few years? If you're in
- 17:17Speaker 2: good health and pay your own insurance, you don't have
- 17:19Speaker 2: to settle for scary high deductibles or unaffordable premiums. Let
- 17:23Speaker 2: American Medical Plans find the right plan for you at
- 17:26Speaker 2: a price you can afford.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Call 833-500-PLAN. No, this is not some.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Ridiculous Obamacare plan with no doctors and unlimited HMO. And
- 17:34Speaker 2: it's not some rinky-dink insurance company that doesn't cover a
- 17:37Speaker 2: single claim. No, this is real coverage for you and
- 17:41Speaker 2: your family. Go to the doctors and hospitals you choose.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Stop shopping around hunting for the best deal. American Medical
- 17:47Speaker 2: Plans will do the hunting for you. Get you a
- 17:49Speaker 2: better plan at a better price. You owe it to
- 17:51Speaker 2: yourself to see what they can do for you. Get
- 17:53Speaker 2: it done before the rates go up. Call American Medical Plans, 833-500-PLAN.
- 17:56Speaker 11: That's 833-500-7526.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Or go to AmericanMedicalPlans.com. American Medical Plans. Quality plans managed
- 17:59Speaker 1: by you, not the government.
- 18:08Speaker 15: Hi, y'all. It's Kathy from Baker Mortgage. You know, with
- 18:10Speaker 15: all the scary stuff we've been through, it's still true
- 18:13Speaker 15: that timing is everything and the time to buy is now.
- 18:16Speaker 15: But don't go looking without a solid pre-approval in hand.
- 18:20Speaker 15: And this includes an application and a detailed discussion about
- 18:23Speaker 15: property taxes. If you didn't have the talk. You know,
- 18:26Speaker 15: about property taxes, you really don't know what you're pre-approved for.
- 18:30Speaker 15: That should make you wonder what else they may have
- 18:32Speaker 15: left out. Mortgages are personal. Let's face it, we're dealing
- 18:35Speaker 15: with your home and your money, and it doesn't get
- 18:38Speaker 15: much more personal than that. When it's the largest transaction
- 18:41Speaker 15: that most people will ever be involved in, imagine having
- 18:44Speaker 15: someone on your side looking out after you.
- 18:46Speaker 1: What a concept.
- 18:48Speaker 15: We audit your closing statement to make sure you're not
- 18:50Speaker 15: paying for things that you're not supposed to. Do you
- 18:52Speaker 15: think your big bank's going to do that? Probably not.
- 18:55Speaker 15: For all of your mortgage needs, call us at Baker Mortgage.
- 18:58Speaker 15: I promise you'll be glad you did. We're at 281-313-MOVE
- 19:02Speaker 15: or go directly to bakermortgage.com.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Equal housing lender. License number 263213.
- 19:09Speaker 16: At O'Hare & Company Real Estate, we believe there are
- 19:11Speaker 16: people in our country and other countries that are trying
- 19:13Speaker 16: to chip away at our freedom. We are taking a
- 19:16Speaker 16: stand against the tyranny that is happening and want to
- 19:18Speaker 16: protect what our veterans and forefathers have fought and died for.
- 19:21Speaker 16: Texans are independent thinkers.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Self-reliant, and bold.
- 19:25Speaker 16: If you want a real estate company that has a backbone,
- 19:28Speaker 16: give us a call at 281-373-3393. Again, that's 281-373-3393. Or
- 19:29Speaker 16: look us up on the web at oherare.com. 700 a.m.
- 19:52Speaker 9: The Voice of Texas. This is your KSEV morning show.
- 19:57Speaker 9: My name is Craig Collins. Wayne Dolcefino is on special assignment.
- 20:02Speaker 9: I think that after seeing just a small amount of
- 20:07Speaker 9: one of two days, of the convention that's happening in
- 20:10Speaker 9: Dallas for the Republican National Committee. I think that right
- 20:15Speaker 9: now what you're seeing is something that definitely will happen
- 20:18Speaker 9: on both sides politically all the time moving forward because
- 20:22Speaker 9: it seems like such a good idea. And honestly, one
- 20:24Speaker 9: of those reasons, and we just mentioned that politician a
- 20:28Speaker 9: short time ago because he will be at the Texas
- 20:31Speaker 9: Faith Fest event that's happening outside Austin, is Brandon Gill,
- 20:35Speaker 9: who absolutely crushed it, in my opinion. But the thing
- 20:39Speaker 9: that most stole the show, the thing that people are
- 20:42Speaker 9: talking about was President Trump and an offer that he
- 20:45Speaker 9: made that I thought was pretty great.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Let's go ahead and play that audio. If I can
- 20:49Speaker 1: get this to actually play from the 360. Here we go.
- 20:53Speaker 17: All right.
- 20:53Speaker 1: It doesn't seem that it's playing. I don't know if
- 20:55Speaker 1: that's a me thing or an us thing.
- 20:57Speaker 14: It's up.
- 20:58Speaker 1: It's up on the board. OK, it's up on the board.
- 20:59Speaker 9: So that should be working. If it's not, I will
- 21:02Speaker 9: get it to work a little bit later on in
- 21:04Speaker 9: the show. because it should all be plugged in and
- 21:07Speaker 9: should all be functioning correctly unless something got disconnected behind
- 21:12Speaker 9: me over here, which I don't see.
- 21:15Speaker 1: As a problem.
- 21:16Speaker 3: All right.
- 21:16Speaker 9: Well, anyway, President Trump did make an offer for let's
- 21:20Speaker 9: see if this is actually wrong, too. Just give me
- 21:22Speaker 9: one more second and I'll get it.
- 21:23Speaker 1: OK.
- 21:24Speaker 9: Anyway, I think that one of the biggest, most valuable
- 21:29Speaker 9: things that we will talk about over the course of
- 21:31Speaker 9: the next few months is will be why you should
- 21:35Speaker 9: vote a certain side of the aisle and why you
- 21:37Speaker 9: shouldn't vote the other way. And one of the most
- 21:39Speaker 9: obvious ways to to demonstrate that. Oh, I see what
- 21:42Speaker 9: the problem is now. Be able to play the audio.
- 21:44Speaker 9: I had the wrong thing muted. One of the most
- 21:46Speaker 9: easy way to demonstrate that is to do some of
- 21:49Speaker 9: the stuff that the left is doing here in Texas.
- 21:52Speaker 9: You do have someone running against Greg Abbott that I
- 21:54Speaker 9: don't care to even name that has dangled the carrot
- 21:57Speaker 9: of giving us all money. She said that because there's
- 22:00Speaker 9: a surplus, why don't we throw some money at certain people?
- 22:03Speaker 9: What I thought was hilarious about that is those same
- 22:07Speaker 9: individuals who are so happy to hear a person running
- 22:11Speaker 9: for a role of governor in Texas offer to buy
- 22:14Speaker 9: your vote. Hate what President Trump did.
- 22:16Speaker 1: But here we go.
- 22:17Speaker 12: If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the
- 22:21Speaker 12: United States Senate, both of them, because of our economic.
- 22:27Speaker 12: Tremendous economic success.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Tremendous.
- 22:30Speaker 12: In history, we've never had anything like what's happening. But
- 22:33Speaker 12: because of our tremendous strength and success economically, I will
- 22:39Speaker 12: issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United
- 22:42Speaker 12: States of America for five thousand dollars.
- 22:49Speaker 1: I'll take the money, sir. I will.
- 22:51Speaker 9: And to be honest, what I really like about this,
- 22:53Speaker 9: my favorite part of this offer is that it comes
- 22:56Speaker 9: from a tariff surplus.
- 22:58Speaker 1: It comes from a very similar place.
- 23:01Speaker 9: But with a very different sort of connection than what
- 23:05Speaker 9: they're offering us here in Texas. What I mean about
- 23:07Speaker 9: similar is they're saying that we've collected a lot of
- 23:10Speaker 9: money and we can use that money for a certain purpose. Now,
- 23:13Speaker 9: in Texas, that surplus has long been important for reasons
- 23:15Speaker 9: well beyond just cutting a check to everybody.
- 23:18Speaker 1: And you'd want to keep it that way.
- 23:19Speaker 9: We don't want to become a California or an Illinois
- 23:22Speaker 9: where I used to live that runs a massive deficit itself.
- 23:25Speaker 9: But in the world of the United States and the
- 23:27Speaker 9: ridiculous amount of money, that we've actually pulled in via tariffs,
- 23:30Speaker 9: especially if the Supreme Court didn't try to hamper what
- 23:34Speaker 9: President Trump was doing, and if we could go back
- 23:36Speaker 9: to doing more of it. The idea of a surplus, well,
- 23:39Speaker 9: it might annoy some, or the idea of us getting
- 23:43Speaker 9: a payout from that money that's been collected, it's fantastic.
- 23:47Speaker 9: And it is exactly what the Democrats are trying to do.
- 23:49Speaker 9: They try to buy your vote with so many different
- 23:52Speaker 9: things that they offer, whether it's student loan debt forgiveness,
- 23:57Speaker 9: It's just another version of buying a vote and causing
- 23:59Speaker 9: massive amounts of potential debt for our country. Why not
- 24:04Speaker 9: do it the tariff way, is my question, and I
- 24:06Speaker 9: don't have an answer that negates it. All right, let's
- 24:08Speaker 9: get to some of what Brandon Gill said, though. And
- 24:11Speaker 9: I love the way that he even kicked off the convention,
- 24:14Speaker 9: because this was hilarious. Brandon Gill said that the most
- 24:17Speaker 9: appropriate way to get things going was to do a
- 24:22Speaker 9: land acknowledgment which the left does sometimes when they want
- 24:26Speaker 9: to tell you where they think or who they think.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Actually owns a piece of land that you're standing on.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Here's how Gil handled that.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Now, I think it's only appropriate that we kick this
- 24:37Speaker 3: convention off properly with a land acknowledgement.
- 24:44Speaker 1: It's so good.
- 24:49Speaker 3: I'd like to acknowledge that we stand here today And
- 24:54Speaker 3: the great state of Texas and the United States of America.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:00Speaker 3: The ancestral homeland of great American patriots, pioneers, and explorers
- 25:08Speaker 3: who put down roots, fought for freedom all over the globe,
- 25:11Speaker 3: and bled and died to build the greatest civilization ever
- 25:15Speaker 3: known to man.
- 25:16Speaker 18: 100%.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Excellently done.
- 25:24Speaker 3: My friends, we live in the finest country in the
- 25:26Speaker 3: history of the world.
- 25:27Speaker 17: We do.
- 25:29Speaker 3: And we're no longer going to apologize for that.
- 25:35Speaker 9: I love everything that Brandon Gill said there.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I love a lot of the other stuff that he
- 25:39Speaker 1: said throughout the convention.
- 25:40Speaker 9: He talked about James got his non-binary Tallarico and other
- 25:46Speaker 9: things that he added, I think, into that middle name.
- 25:49Speaker 9: He also did have a conversation about Abdul Al-Said.
- 25:53Speaker 1: And what he thinks he represents.
- 25:55Speaker 9: And then finally, one last piece of audio that I
- 25:57Speaker 9: really did like from the convention last night, which also
- 26:00Speaker 9: involves Trump, we'll get to in just a little bit.
- 26:03Speaker 9: But President Trump was also on fire, in my opinion,
- 26:06Speaker 9: and certainly seemed to enjoy Trump. the atmosphere that he
- 26:09Speaker 9: was in, which I think happens any time there's a
- 26:12Speaker 9: giant crowd and an event and Trump is speaking. And
- 26:16Speaker 9: the reason that I think that that's so important to
- 26:18Speaker 9: enthusiasm within the Republican Party is that when he has
- 26:22Speaker 9: these types of events and eyeballs are actually on him,
- 26:25Speaker 9: he brings out an A game that very few people
- 26:27Speaker 9: can bring out that does, I think, whip up enthusiasm.
- 26:30Speaker 9: So we'll get to a little bit more of that.
- 26:31Speaker 9: I want to keep playing some of the audio from
- 26:33Speaker 9: the event itself. But this is KSEV Mornings. Craig Collins,
- 26:38Speaker 9: Wayne Dolcefino on Special Assignment on The Voice of Texas.

- 28:22Speaker 19: the Money with your host and CEO of Allied Wealth Texas,

- 28:28Speaker 19: possible during your retirement years. That's each Sunday at 9 a.m.
- 28:32Speaker 19: right here on AM700 KSEV.
- 28:34Speaker 14: From the KSEV Weather Center, today expect a mix of
- 28:37Speaker 14: sunshine and clouds along with humidity leading to a chance
- 28:39Speaker 14: of a thunderstorm. The high will reach 92 degrees tonight.
- 28:42Speaker 14: There may be a thunderstorm in some areas early on. Otherwise,
- 28:45Speaker 14: it will be partly cloudy and humid with a low
- 28:47Speaker 14: of 75. Tomorrow, anticipate partly sunny skies and continued humidity.
- 28:51Speaker 14: There is a possibility of an afternoon and evening thunderstorm
- 28:54Speaker 14: in spots with highs reaching 95 degrees. As for Saturday,
- 28:57Speaker 14: it will be humid with intervals of sunshine occasionally interrupted
- 29:00Speaker 14: by clouds. There's a chance of an afternoon and evening
- 29:02Speaker 14: thunderstorm in spots with a high of 93 degrees. With
- 29:05Speaker 14: the KSCV Weather Center forecast, I'm AccuWeather meteorologist Joe Lundberg.
- 29:20Speaker 9: This is KSV Mornings. My name is Craig Collins. Wayne
- 29:24Speaker 9: Dolcefino is on special assignment. Lots and lots of things
- 29:28Speaker 9: to talk about and get to on the show. I
- 29:32Speaker 9: think that the convention last night was an absolute success.
- 29:36Speaker 9: I wonder if anyone can make the argument that the
- 29:39Speaker 9: people who are paying attention to that are the people
- 29:42Speaker 9: that we already had in our corner, essentially meaning that
- 29:45Speaker 9: anyone who's on the outside might not have seen the totality,
- 29:50Speaker 9: the Brandon Gill moments, all the moments that I thought
- 29:53Speaker 9: were great. But you can't make the argument that no
- 29:56Speaker 9: one paid attention to any part of it because Trump
- 29:58Speaker 9: offered everybody.
- 29:59Speaker 1: $ 5, 000. Genius, genius decision.
- 30:04Speaker 9: And I know people, I'll say this, because I find
- 30:06Speaker 9: this kind of funny, because I know people in both camps,
- 30:09Speaker 9: and I have audio to play of James Tallarico and
- 30:11Speaker 9: the Fox News interview that he did that I thought
- 30:14Speaker 9: was fascinating. And part of me actually thought about not
- 30:17Speaker 9: playing too much of that. And part of the reason
- 30:20Speaker 9: why would be that he just blatantly lied again and
- 30:24Speaker 9: again and again. He's trying to distance himself from his
- 30:28Speaker 9: radical beliefs that he literally gave as sermons in a
- 30:31Speaker 9: church at one point. The man deeply believes the things
- 30:35Speaker 9: that we know to be most radical about him. He's
- 30:38Speaker 9: just trying to pretend right now that he can say
- 30:41Speaker 9: something different at the 11th hour and that people are
- 30:44Speaker 9: dumb enough to believe it. But before I say that, again,
- 30:47Speaker 9: I know a lot of people will praise this action
- 30:50Speaker 9: of Trump or that action of Trump as genius. And
- 30:53Speaker 9: the people who hate him most will all of a
- 30:55Speaker 9: sudden scream and yell like you're a Trump sycophant. You're
- 30:58Speaker 9: someone who is as MAGA as they get for believing
- 31:02Speaker 9: that any act done by this current president is even
- 31:05Speaker 9: intelligent because they hate him so much. They don't want
- 31:07Speaker 9: to ever acknowledge any level of intelligence from the man.
- 31:10Speaker 9: At the same time, there's people I know that I
- 31:13Speaker 9: would call very MAGA that will tell me that everything
- 31:17Speaker 9: he ever does is genius and amazing. And sometimes I
- 31:20Speaker 9: do think Trump is throwing stuff at the wall. For
- 31:23Speaker 9: my purview, for my vantage point, at times I believe
- 31:27Speaker 9: that it wasn't a genius move that happens. It's just
- 31:30Speaker 9: a let's see what happens when we say or do this.
- 31:33Speaker 9: And there's a value to that, but it's different. The $ 5, 000
- 31:36Speaker 9: for every American thing that happened last night, that's genius
- 31:41Speaker 9: because it's impossible to ignore. And the funniest thing about
- 31:45Speaker 9: it and the best part about it is it plays
- 31:48Speaker 9: into everything that.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Democrats want to do to win votes themselves.
- 31:53Speaker 9: Like, wouldn't five grand, let me say it this way,
- 31:57Speaker 9: help anyone out there who's complaining and saying, I'm not
- 32:00Speaker 9: doing that well right now.
- 32:01Speaker 1: I need I need a leg up. I need some assistance.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Wouldn't five grand get you a lot further to where
- 32:07Speaker 1: you need to go? The answer is probably yes.
- 32:10Speaker 9: I'm sure people will say I'd rather have that money
- 32:12Speaker 9: spent on lowering our deficit. And I'm not completely against
- 32:16Speaker 9: that idea instead. But when you're fighting fire with fire,
- 32:20Speaker 9: the best way to do it is to do it
- 32:22Speaker 9: in a way that that also can't be ignored. And
- 32:25Speaker 9: that's what happened. So I am obsessed with that. I'll
- 32:28Speaker 9: probably talk about it a lot throughout the show today.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Because I honestly.
- 32:33Speaker 9: Last thing I'll say right now, I can't even really
- 32:36Speaker 9: figure out where that genesis of that idea came from. Like,
- 32:41Speaker 9: is that just Trump that he walk out on stage
- 32:43Speaker 9: is like, screw it. I'm going to say a thing
- 32:45Speaker 9: and I'm going to go a road and we'll see
- 32:47Speaker 9: what happens. Or was this well planned by a lot
- 32:50Speaker 9: of people beside him? Because I kind of think it
- 32:52Speaker 9: might have just been him. And he's the guy at
- 32:54Speaker 9: the top. He can make those kind of decisions. All right,
- 32:57Speaker 9: let's get to some South Tallarico stuff. He did an
- 33:00Speaker 9: interview on Fox. During the interview on Fox, he said
- 33:04Speaker 9: a lot of things that absolutely fly in the face
- 33:08Speaker 9: of what he currently believes. Now, I don't want to
- 33:11Speaker 9: play a whole lot of that stuff, not because I'm
- 33:14Speaker 9: shying away from it, It's because I can see the
- 33:17Speaker 9: political decision being made to pretend you believe something different
- 33:21Speaker 9: now conveniently in September with a midterm election coming up
- 33:25Speaker 9: in two months. I almost feel as though people who
- 33:29Speaker 9: believe this have to be morons. But I do want
- 33:33Speaker 9: to play something he admitted that he seems to think
- 33:35Speaker 9: is still optically a good thing that even now he
- 33:38Speaker 9: says is still an opinion he has. He'd love to
- 33:41Speaker 9: pack the Supreme Court. Is that as buzzworthy of a
- 33:45Speaker 9: gotcha as saying that there are six genders or God
- 33:47Speaker 9: is non-binary or all the other crazy things he said? No,
- 33:51Speaker 9: but it does show that he's still radical. He's just
- 33:54Speaker 9: trying to hide the things that are working as messaging
- 33:58Speaker 9: against him.
- 33:58Speaker 1: But here we go.
- 33:59Speaker 18: If you win this, should our voters expect you to
- 34:02Speaker 18: vote for or against adding Supreme Court justices more than nine?
- 34:06Speaker 4: Well, I think the Supreme Court needs to be overhauled.
- 34:09Speaker 4: We have seen that corruption has infected the judicial branch,
- 34:12Speaker 4: just as it's infected the legislative and executive branches. And
- 34:16Speaker 4: so you're going to expect that I will vote for
- 34:18Speaker 4: overhauls to the Supreme Court. That'll include binding codes of
- 34:21Speaker 4: conduct for our justices. It'll include term limits. And I'm
- 34:25Speaker 4: open to a discussion about expanding the number of justices.
- 34:27Speaker 9: Yeah, because he can't lose his base, by the way.
- 34:29Speaker 9: He can't say all the things that he is radical
- 34:33Speaker 9: about as opposite opinions now, Because those people who most
- 34:36Speaker 9: love him in Austin, and there are some that do,
- 34:39Speaker 9: I don't feel like there's as many as he thinks
- 34:41Speaker 9: there are, they'll get mad when he stops saying that
- 34:44Speaker 9: there are six genders.
- 34:45Speaker 1: But I do want to play this. I thought this
- 34:46Speaker 1: was great.
- 34:47Speaker 9: Will Kane reacted to the entirety of this interview and
- 34:51Speaker 9: a lot of the shifting positions by saying how ridiculous
- 34:55Speaker 9: it is.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 34:56Speaker 4: And so I will oppose trans athletes playing in girls
- 34:59Speaker 4: sports if it risks safety or fairness. So I guess
- 35:03Speaker 4: they can play chess, but not anything that risks safety
- 35:06Speaker 4: or fairness.
- 35:08Speaker 17: I hope they can play it as aggressively as James
- 35:10Speaker 17: Tallarico is playing against James Tallarico. I mean, this is
- 35:12Speaker 17: not the man that he's been throughout his entire career,
- 35:14Speaker 17: no matter how nicely he says it. He has been
- 35:17Speaker 17: an absolute radical on these issues. I don't know if
- 35:19Speaker 17: Brooke got to this issue as well, but he wants
- 35:20Speaker 17: to dismantle capitalism.
- 35:22Speaker 1: That's fairly recent.
- 35:24Speaker 17: Does he disavow that version of himself as well?
- 35:26Speaker 1: James Tallarico can't run from James Tallarico.
- 35:30Speaker 15: Amen.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Amen to Will Kane. James Tallarico cannot run from Tallarico.
- 35:33Speaker 9: Now, look, because of transparency, I do want to play
- 35:35Speaker 9: some of the other things He did say that he
- 35:38Speaker 9: no longer believes. But I have to implore people to
- 35:43Speaker 9: actually use their brains and think when you see some
- 35:46Speaker 9: of this, like the are there six genders thing, because
- 35:49Speaker 9: he was asked that question and he did give an answer.
- 35:53Speaker 9: And that answer will alienate, as I said, the people
- 35:56Speaker 9: who most deeply support him, unless they think it's OK
- 35:59Speaker 9: to lie a little bit. If you're playing a long
- 36:01Speaker 9: run game and once you get in power, you will
- 36:04Speaker 9: do the things that we all expect him to do,
- 36:06Speaker 9: the radical things. far left things. But the reason I
- 36:09Speaker 9: hesitate to play this is that I think it is
- 36:12Speaker 9: intentionally a clip, meaning that the left wants this out there.
- 36:16Speaker 9: They want Tallarico on Fox. They want him answering the
- 36:19Speaker 9: question this way so they can push it to anyone
- 36:22Speaker 9: that says something different, like Paxton will be doing and
- 36:26Speaker 9: did on the stage in Dallas, too. I thought Paxton's
- 36:29Speaker 9: speech was good. I didn't think it was as good
- 36:31Speaker 9: as others. That's not his skill set, but I thought
- 36:33Speaker 9: it was good. I thought he did a good job
- 36:34Speaker 9: and he had a good shot against Tallarico, too. But again,
- 36:38Speaker 9: I don't want to play into the game and give
- 36:41Speaker 9: the left the thing they want, because if you've paid
- 36:44Speaker 9: attention at all, you know, Tallarico doesn't believe this.
- 36:47Speaker 18: But here 2021 hearing, you said there are six biological sexes.
- 36:53Speaker 18: Do you still believe that standing here with me right now?
- 36:55Speaker 4: No, I've missed the mark on some of my past statements.
- 36:58Speaker 4: I will be the first to admit it. What I
- 37:00Speaker 4: meant is that there are two sexes and then there's
- 37:02Speaker 4: a small percentage of people with genetic abnormalities. I obviously
- 37:06Speaker 4: didn't say it correctly. There are not six sexes. There
- 37:08Speaker 4: are two.
- 37:09Speaker 1: It's ridiculous.
- 37:11Speaker 4: And I think the reason that politicians in that convention
- 37:15Speaker 4: center across the street want to talk about six sexes
- 37:17Speaker 4: is because they don't want to talk about $ 6 diesel.
- 37:20Speaker 4: Everywhere I go across the state of Texas, people are
- 37:22Speaker 4: struggling to survive in this economy.
- 37:24Speaker 9: I'll stop right there because he's going to go into
- 37:26Speaker 9: his whole pitch about how he'll lower prices, which we
- 37:28Speaker 9: know he won't, especially not. oil and gas, which is
- 37:31Speaker 9: an organization or a industry he's wanted to fight for
- 37:35Speaker 9: a very long time. And he has several positions that
- 37:37Speaker 9: demonstrate that. But here's the most valuable takeaway from someone
- 37:42Speaker 9: who pivots this hard. And what I mean by that,
- 37:44Speaker 9: and this is the Kamala Harris all over again thing
- 37:48Speaker 9: of suddenly pretending all of your radical positions are aren't
- 37:51Speaker 9: the things you believe, that you misspoke, that you were
- 37:54Speaker 9: being really specific about six abnormalities that exist in. 000
- 38:01Speaker 9: something percent of people, according to him now, because the
- 38:04Speaker 9: first time you said the thing, there are six genders,
- 38:08Speaker 9: you were placating the radical left. And I think you
- 38:11Speaker 9: were also stating something that you believe. Now, when you
- 38:15Speaker 9: don't placate the radical left anymore... you are demonstrating how
- 38:18Speaker 9: full of crap you are all the time. I've said
- 38:21Speaker 9: this many, many times, and I'll say it again. When
- 38:24Speaker 9: someone flip-flops on one or two positions, I am capable
- 38:29Speaker 9: of believing that they changed some thinking, some thought process
- 38:34Speaker 9: over time. Usually it takes years, and they've now come
- 38:37Speaker 9: to a different conclusion. But when you flip-flop on everything,
- 38:41Speaker 9: when it's topic after topic, And all of a sudden,
- 38:44Speaker 9: all your positions are different. You have to throw out
- 38:47Speaker 9: the entirety of the person. And specifically, what I mean
- 38:50Speaker 9: is you have to accept that they're a big, giant
- 38:52Speaker 9: liar all the time. Because like, let's say this is
- 38:56Speaker 9: the best example I can give you as a married guy.
- 38:59Speaker 9: My wife asked me some questions and I gave her
- 39:02Speaker 9: a set of answers. And then the next day she
- 39:04Speaker 9: asked me the same questions and I gave her a
- 39:06Speaker 9: totally different polar opposite set of answers.
- 39:10Speaker 1: I'm sleeping on the couch.
- 39:11Speaker 9: I'm sleeping outside in the front yard for a few
- 39:14Speaker 9: days because now she knows I'm lying. She doesn't know
- 39:17Speaker 9: which side's a lie, but it doesn't matter to her.
- 39:19Speaker 9: And it shouldn't matter to us. It shouldn't matter to you.
- 39:23Speaker 9: It shouldn't matter to anyone voting in this election. The
- 39:26Speaker 9: minute that someone outs themselves as being a performative. robot
- 39:31Speaker 9: politician type of person and not someone. who I think
- 39:36Speaker 9: actually deserves to be taken at their word, you have
- 39:40Speaker 9: to just decide that they can't be trusted at all
- 39:42Speaker 9: because it's too many things. And to be honest with you,
- 39:46Speaker 9: I've heard people say, well, yeah, at one point, Trump
- 39:49Speaker 9: donated to Democrats or whatever it is that people say.
- 39:53Speaker 9: And the funniest part about that to me is how
- 39:56Speaker 9: much longer ago it is than Tallarico's positions and how donating.
- 40:00Speaker 1: To political people that might be giving you.
- 40:03Speaker 9: Some sort of benefit as a business person is is
- 40:05Speaker 9: a pretty tried and true version of a day-to-day experience
- 40:09Speaker 9: or day-to-day behavior that's a little bit different. Because if
- 40:13Speaker 9: you go back and actually watch Trump interviews, he says
- 40:16Speaker 9: a lot of the things he says now a certain
- 40:18Speaker 9: number of years ago, they were just Democratic positions back then,
- 40:22Speaker 9: and they aren't now, which is even crazier to think, too.
- 40:25Speaker 9: But anyway, the big takeaway for me, and maybe we'll
- 40:29Speaker 9: play more audio as we go throughout the remainder of
- 40:31Speaker 9: the show here, from Tallarico's interview on Fox, is that
- 40:34Speaker 9: it was 100% designed to be a clip factory type
- 40:39Speaker 9: of interview that they would put out all over social
- 40:41Speaker 9: media and pretend as though Tallarico is not the lunatic
- 40:45Speaker 9: that he's about to be described as on a daily
- 40:49Speaker 9: basis because money is flooding in to the Paxson campaign.
- 40:52Speaker 9: There is finally offense that will attack Tallarico. And so
- 40:57Speaker 9: he's deciding his best way to defend that or prevent
- 41:01Speaker 9: that offense from working.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Is pretend none of it's true.
- 41:04Speaker 9: And again, going back to the example of my wife,
- 41:07Speaker 9: we need to all see through whatever the lie is there,
- 41:10Speaker 9: and I don't even care what side it's on. I'm
- 41:12Speaker 9: assuming it's on the less radical side, but I truly
- 41:15Speaker 9: don't care.
- 41:15Speaker 1: A quick break, a lot coming up.

- 41:32Speaker 9: the show from his house, which at some point I
- 41:34Speaker 9: might also do.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Not often.
- 41:36Speaker 9: I like being here, but maybe occasionally if we get
- 41:39Speaker 9: the technology worked out.

- 42:12Speaker 20: shocked everyone when he fully endorsed Papio Daniel with the

- 44:27Speaker 1: And now for the bonus round. Who imposes property taxes?
- 44:32Speaker 19: State government.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Nice try, but no. Local governments.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Correct.
- 44:38Speaker 1: And we have a winner.
- 44:40Speaker 19: Here's Governor Greg Abbott on his plan to control property taxes.
- 44:44Speaker 13: The state of Texas does not impose a property tax.
- 44:47Speaker 13: Only local governments impose property taxes. One of the reasons
- 44:51Speaker 13: why your property taxes are going up is because local
- 44:54Speaker 13: governments are increasing their spending. So the first thing we
- 44:58Speaker 13: got to do is to stop the spending that leads.
- 45:01Speaker 1: To property tax increases.
- 45:03Speaker 13: You should have a say on whether or not your
- 45:05Speaker 13: property taxes go up. It should be a vote that
- 45:08Speaker 13: requires two-thirds vote before any property tax increase can ever
- 45:12Speaker 13: be imposed on our fellow Texans. You're going to be
- 45:15Speaker 13: able to live in your home for the rest of
- 45:17Speaker 13: your lives without being priced out of it.
- 45:19Speaker 5: Protecting homeowners, lowering property taxes.
- 45:22Speaker 19: That's Governor Greg Abbott.
- 45:24Speaker 13: Political ad paid for by Texans for Greg Abbott.
- 45:37Speaker 1: This is KSEV Mornings. My name is Craig Collins.
- 45:43Speaker 9: Wayne Del Trofino is on special assignment today. We are
- 45:47Speaker 9: talking to you from The Voice of Texas, AM 700,
- 45:51Speaker 9: and thrilled to have you with us all over social
- 45:53Speaker 9: media today. We hit the wrong buttons yesterday, so we're
- 45:57Speaker 9: rebuilding that full show so you can see it.
- 46:00Speaker 1: That wasn't a Russell problem. By the way, if you
- 46:02Speaker 1: just heard me say that, that was a me problem.
- 46:03Speaker 9: We did it. Russell and I did a live show
- 46:06Speaker 9: yesterday for you. We just didn't send it anywhere, which
- 46:09Speaker 9: was a mistake that I fixed today. And I don't
- 46:12Speaker 9: know why we did that. But we are putting that
- 46:14Speaker 9: show back up commercial free from yesterday. So you did
- 46:16Speaker 9: see the first hour on social media. You will see
- 46:18Speaker 9: the second hour, I think, later today. But today's show
- 46:21Speaker 9: is on all the platforms, although not on Facebook still.
- 46:26Speaker 9: And we're going to do that once Wayne is back
- 46:27Speaker 9: because Wayne really wants us to. But I try to
- 46:30Speaker 9: leave the Facebook a little more alone. I know that
- 46:32Speaker 9: Chris X and the Amigos are both on Facebook on
- 46:35Speaker 9: their respective shows. And I kind of like just doing
- 46:38Speaker 9: one live show a day on that platform because it
- 46:40Speaker 9: sort of sucks. Meta is sort of terrible. And the
- 46:43Speaker 9: more things we do in meta, the more likely they
- 46:45Speaker 9: are to throttle us.
- 46:47Speaker 1: But we'll see.
- 46:47Speaker 9: Wayne does have a big following there. Anyway, I want
- 46:49Speaker 9: to talk about something different that's local. And I kind
- 46:53Speaker 9: of think is a pretty big deal. This would be
- 46:55Speaker 9: something that Senator Paul Betancourt has been I'm pretty sure
- 47:00Speaker 9: the loudest voice in a very good way on this
- 47:04Speaker 9: topic of property taxes and how ridiculous they are. But
- 47:08Speaker 9: Senator Betancourt yesterday put up on social media that he
- 47:11Speaker 9: finally agrees with Lena Hidalgo on something. And this is
- 47:15Speaker 9: no credit to Lena. I think even she may acknowledge
- 47:20Speaker 9: the horrible political decision that it would be to go
- 47:23Speaker 9: as ridiculously far at increasing property taxes in Harris County.
- 47:28Speaker 1: As they're planning to go.
- 47:30Speaker 9: But Lena was one of the no votes, along with
- 47:32Speaker 9: Tom Ramsey and along with Senator Betancourt, that was trying
- 47:36Speaker 9: to prevent Harris County from increasing property taxes by about
- 47:40Speaker 9: 200 bucks per home. And why do you think this
- 47:43Speaker 9: isn't a more talked about point or a more discussed topic?
- 47:47Speaker 9: It's because a lot of people don't appreciate how ridiculously
- 47:50Speaker 9: expensive that is. When you hear 200 bucks a year
- 47:54Speaker 9: that you're paying an additional money per person, Part of
- 47:58Speaker 9: some of the listeners out there might be like, well,
- 48:00Speaker 9: I can afford that.
- 48:01Speaker 1: That's not that big of a deal.
- 48:02Speaker 9: But when you compare it to the average, whether that
- 48:05Speaker 9: average is a state average or national average, Harris County
- 48:08Speaker 9: continues to push itself ridiculously far into the extremes. And
- 48:13Speaker 9: Senator Betancourt did a great job in a barometer that
- 48:17Speaker 9: he put up on social media demonstrating that our simple
- 48:20Speaker 9: local services would now cost about as much as paying
- 48:25Speaker 9: for school districts costs. which essentially means that anything that
- 48:28Speaker 9: we have in the world of county services would be
- 48:32Speaker 9: as expensive as humanly possible.
- 48:34Speaker 1: And you and I both know something else.
- 48:37Speaker 9: And this is the more important point to discuss when
- 48:39Speaker 9: you talk about this, the tremendous likelihood that every dollar
- 48:44Speaker 9: that is wasted and not used well, they'll keep taking
- 48:47Speaker 9: more of our money. As you heard in Greg Abbott's
- 48:51Speaker 9: commercial that we played a second ago, He is very
- 48:54Speaker 9: proud of the fact that Texas does not take property
- 48:56Speaker 9: taxes from you.
- 48:57Speaker 1: But local communities do. Local governments do.
- 49:01Speaker 9: And Harris County is abusing this as far as they
- 49:04Speaker 9: can and trying to increase the rate by a ridiculous
- 49:08Speaker 9: additional percentage to get all of us.
- 49:09Speaker 1: To pay more and more and more money.
- 49:12Speaker 9: A 10 percent increase is a combined average Harris County
- 49:17Speaker 9: tax homestead bill.
- 49:19Speaker 1: It would go to 2000.
- 49:20Speaker 9: Is only $ 50 less than what we pay for Harris
- 49:26Speaker 9: County school districts. So again, the amount of money you're
- 49:28Speaker 9: paying per year is as extreme as humanly possible, and
- 49:32Speaker 9: they're trying to make it worse.
- 49:34Speaker 1: And here's actually.
- 49:35Speaker 2: I.
- 49:38Speaker 9: From a discussion like this, this is what Democrats actually do.
- 49:43Speaker 9: This is how they behave well in power. And unfortunately,
- 49:47Speaker 9: in Harris County, the Democrats have had a disproportionate amount
- 49:50Speaker 9: of power for way too long.
- 49:52Speaker 1: But the thing they actually do is cost you.
- 49:55Speaker 9: And I more money. They make things more expensive. Increasing
- 49:59Speaker 9: the property tax bill by a historic rate makes your
- 50:03Speaker 9: life worse.
- 50:04Speaker 1: It simply does.
- 50:05Speaker 9: At a time when most people are saying the reason
- 50:07Speaker 9: that they'd vote for a Democrat right now and not
- 50:10Speaker 9: a Republican is because they believe the Democrats are willing
- 50:15Speaker 9: or at least plan to make your life better by
- 50:19Speaker 9: talking about issues like how much stuff costs. That's not
- 50:22Speaker 9: true in action. The best way to say this is
- 50:26Speaker 9: that you should always observe how a person actually behaves much,
- 50:31Speaker 9: much more than you care about what they say.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Like their behavior on a day to day basis is.
- 50:37Speaker 9: So much more important to any sort of discussion about
- 50:40Speaker 9: who they are as a person.
- 50:42Speaker 1: And my favorite.
- 50:43Speaker 9: This is my favorite example. I've had arguments and conversations
- 50:47Speaker 9: with people on the left are just idiots. I'll call
- 50:50Speaker 9: them that. where you can see in their face how
- 50:52Speaker 9: much they hate you. You can feel it.
- 50:54Speaker 1: You can feel as the discussion goes a certain.
- 50:56Speaker 9: Way, as you use logic and facts to circumvent the
- 51:00Speaker 9: stupidity of their argument, and they come back with angrier
- 51:03Speaker 9: and angrier responses, you can feel the lack of any
- 51:08Speaker 9: sort of ability to think being a part of that discussion.
- 51:12Speaker 9: And sometimes it's even as easy as just seeing it
- 51:14Speaker 9: on someone's face. As you talk to someone, the facial
- 51:18Speaker 9: expressions they can't control... demonstrate to you how livid they are.
- 51:22Speaker 9: I see that in Tallarico in part of the interviews
- 51:25Speaker 9: that he gives when he's trying to say the opposite
- 51:28Speaker 9: stuff that he hasn't said before. I see those little
- 51:31Speaker 9: micro expressions is what they're called that demonstrate.
- 51:35Speaker 1: How he hates that he's even saying this stuff out loud.
- 51:38Speaker 9: And that's truly what you need to pay attention to
- 51:40Speaker 9: and what matters most when you have a conversation about
- 51:44Speaker 9: what people actually do in power. If I were to
- 51:46Speaker 9: sit across from someone and I were to ask them,
- 51:49Speaker 9: to tell me the issues we face right now in
- 51:52Speaker 9: this country, and they go through a list of things
- 51:55Speaker 9: I wholeheartedly agree with, like this moment, this moment, whether
- 51:59Speaker 9: it's the cost of living, whether it's girls playing men's
- 52:03Speaker 9: or men playing women's sports, whatever the case might be,
- 52:06Speaker 9: if they rattle off a list and I think that
- 52:09Speaker 9: just saying the problem out loud is the same as
- 52:12Speaker 9: solving it, I'm the one making the mistake. I need
- 52:16Speaker 9: that person to step from Here are the issues you
- 52:19Speaker 9: and I are facing to what are you going to
- 52:21Speaker 9: do to fix it so that I can judge whether
- 52:23Speaker 9: or not their plan and their decision is horrible. One
- 52:27Speaker 9: more example that I'll give you in my day to
- 52:30Speaker 9: day life that kind of connects to this. Whenever I
- 52:32Speaker 9: tell my wife I can fix something in our house,
- 52:35Speaker 9: whenever anything's broken in our house, in our condo, and
- 52:38Speaker 9: she goes, somebody needs to come in and repair this.
- 52:41Speaker 1: And I look at her and I go, I can
- 52:42Speaker 1: fix that.
- 52:43Speaker 9: My wife has now learned over a course of years
- 52:46Speaker 9: being married to me.
- 52:48Speaker 1: That she has to ask me how. She's like, how
- 52:50Speaker 1: do you fix that?
- 52:51Speaker 9: What are you going to do to make this work
- 52:54Speaker 9: better that it's not doing right now? And if I
- 52:56Speaker 9: can't answer the question, the rule is that then we
- 52:59Speaker 9: hire a professional. And oftentimes, if I think I can
- 53:02Speaker 9: fix something but can't answer the questions because I think
- 53:05Speaker 9: I can go look it up on the Internet. And
- 53:07Speaker 9: that's the thing she wants me to stop. She wants
- 53:09Speaker 9: me to not go try to learn something in 10 minutes.
- 53:11Speaker 9: And then try to fix it. But we should have
- 53:13Speaker 9: that same rule. Let's call it the Betty rule, because
- 53:16Speaker 9: that's my wife's rule for me, for our politicians. You
- 53:20Speaker 9: can't just tell me what the problem is. You have
- 53:22Speaker 9: to tell me what the solution is. And they're terrible, terrible,
- 53:26Speaker 9: terrible at doing that in a valuable way, because just
- 53:29Speaker 9: to cyclically wrap this conversation in a circle, the plan
- 53:34Speaker 9: to increase your property taxes in 2026 in Harris County,
- 53:37Speaker 9: 100 percent a Democratic plan. at a time when most
- 53:42Speaker 9: people are saying they can't afford their day-to-day living, just
- 53:45Speaker 9: seems to be we don't give a crap about you
- 53:48Speaker 9: types of politics. I do want to keep playing audio
- 53:52Speaker 9: from the Republican National Convention that happened in Dallas. I
- 53:56Speaker 9: will also keep playing some audio of James Tallarico that
- 54:00Speaker 9: I thought was fascinating on his Fox interview that he did.
- 54:04Speaker 9: The biggest reason I want to keep playing that is
- 54:05Speaker 9: because I think he's trying to disrespect the intelligence of
- 54:09Speaker 9: voters even more. by pretending he's not as radical as
- 54:12Speaker 9: he is and thinking it'll work as a message he's
- 54:15Speaker 9: delivering all brand new in September.
- 54:19Speaker 1: But anyway, we'll get to that.
- 54:20Speaker 9: We'll get to what Trump offered and how Brandon Gill
- 54:23Speaker 9: stole the show in night one, all on The Voice
- 54:26Speaker 9: of Texas, KSEV, 700 a.m., the KSEV Morning Show.
- 54:32Speaker 2: I was caught in the middle of a railroad track
