Latest / The Slippery Slope / 'Australians' Protest From the Safety of Australia?
Transcript
- 0:14OK, first let me preface everything else I'm about to say
- 0:20with this I am not against immigration, not against
- 0:24allowing people to come into this country.
- 0:26I get it. It's a great country.
- 0:29Fantastic country. It's where everyone goes to come
- 0:31here. Why wouldn't you?
- 0:33But you know, maybe maybe we should check people's people's
- 0:39motives and what they're really about.
- 0:42Maybe we should pay a little more attention to what they
- 0:45really believe, you know And you know, are they really going to
- 0:48be. They're really here to help
- 0:50create a a cohesive society and to to help add into our society.
- 0:57To help add into our culture, is that what they're here for or
- 1:00are they just here to push their own agenda, you know, coming to
- 1:06Australia? And yet at the same time they
- 1:09stand up and go out and protest about things happening in the
- 1:12country that they've come from and process and making demands
- 1:16of the Australian government and the Australian people about
- 1:19things that are happening in their own country.
- 1:21Well then, go back to your own country.
- 1:23Like I said, it's not that I'm against immigration, but if
- 1:26you're so passionate about your own country, go back there
- 1:31because this is what I don't get about immigration.
- 1:34I personally would not move from Australia, OK?
- 1:38But if there's something wrong with Australia, I'll stand up
- 1:43and make my voice heard in Australia for Australian issues.
- 1:48I'm not going to go to some other country and then demand
- 1:50that that country. Takes a notice of me and my
- 1:54desires and tries to force Australia to to bend, to change
- 2:00in this country that I now live in.
- 2:02Must bend to my will. But that's what's happening
- 2:04here. That's what's happening with all
- 2:06these marches about about Palestine.
- 2:11But and and unfortunately when you look at the big picture here
- 2:15with with the Israel, Gaza war, Israel.
- 2:21Well technically I think they they might be, they might be
- 2:24winning, they might be winning the war.
- 2:27They're losing the PR battle. They are losing it big time and
- 2:30and you know we for example and you know a couple of weeks ago
- 2:35we had the bombing there was a hospital that got bombed and
- 2:38here in Australia, I don't know about other place but here in
- 2:40Australia for well over a week. All we heard, we kept hearing
- 2:43reports. There's reports, there's
- 2:45concerns, there's accusations that it was Israel.
- 2:49The Israel military is the the IDF, they're the ones that
- 2:52bombed this Palestinian hospital, this hospital in Gaza.
- 2:57They did it. Israel kept denying it.
- 3:00They kept saying no, it's not us, wasn't us.
- 3:02We don't do that. We're not going to do that.
- 3:05No. In the morning on on news
- 3:08reports, on on our morning. News shows we'd have people
- 3:11coming up. Yep, Israel did this.
- 3:15They bombed, they killed, they've killed innocent babies.
- 3:17They've done all this. They keep saying no, Look, we
- 3:19believe it was a a stray Hamas missile might have been an
- 3:23accident, who knows? But it wasn't us.
- 3:26So for about, I think it was actually about two weeks.
- 3:29We kept hearing all this propaganda, all this blame of
- 3:31Israel. Then they came out with proof
- 3:35that it wasn't them. It looked like it might have
- 3:37been a missile that was either misfired.
- 3:40Or it's just crashed a bit early.
- 3:42So in other words, people from Palestine, people from Gaza,
- 3:48killed other people from Gaza. It's all very tragic.
- 3:52But The thing is, we had about two weeks here in Australia of
- 3:57that rhetoric going around that Israel killed, Israel bombed the
- 4:00hospital, Israel killed all the babies, Israel did this.
- 4:04And then when it came out, they had the proof there that no,
- 4:07Israel didn't do it. It was Australia Hamas missile.
- 4:11We had about 5 minutes of oh OK, the evidence has come in.
- 4:14It was actually Hamas that killed their own people
- 4:17basically. And we're not going to talk
- 4:19anymore about that story. Go figure.
- 4:22So Israel are losing the the PR battle.
- 4:27Not good. Anyway, let's check out this
- 4:29story here and why I started off with my little discussion about
- 4:34little discussion, Little rant about immigration here.
- 4:38Please forcibly remove supporters against or after
- 4:40demonstration at Port Botany against Zim ZIM Zui in India.
- 4:46Mike Container ship. I was spelling it out because
- 4:50I'm not sure whether that's a. Acronym or whatever.
- 4:53Anyway, Police have forcibly removed activists who gathered
- 4:57as Sydney's Port Botany in protest last night against the
- 5:00unloaded of an Israeli owned shipping company.
- 5:05Hundreds of protesters carrying Palestinian flags and holding up
- 5:08signs called for a boycott of Zim, an international shipping
- 5:12line and an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
- 5:16I love the way. I love the way all these people.
- 5:22All these people who are living safely, very safely in Australia
- 5:27go out and protest and demand. We demand Australia does
- 5:31something. Well, we sit here peacefully in
- 5:34Australia, living the peaceful, quiet life.
- 5:37We're going to get out and stir up trouble and and make demands
- 5:41because that's what it's all about.
- 5:42We'll demand from the safety of Australia.
- 5:45You know, if you've got some, if you think things are your
- 5:49nation's being hard done by. And I this isn't, I'm not trying
- 5:54to attack or anything, but in all honesty go back there.
- 6:01Go back. I I I don't understand the
- 6:04mindset that I'm being serious. I don't understand the mindset
- 6:07because this, this was me and I went somewhere else and I could
- 6:10see things happening in Australia.
- 6:12I would go back, go back to Australia.
- 6:15But this is the country that I love.
- 6:16I go back and stand up for it. But if you haven't got the
- 6:19courage to go back. And you want to call it all out
- 6:22from, you know, thousands and thousands of kilometers away.
- 6:26Seriously, I won't say any more, but, you know, come on anyway.
- 6:32A jet ski with a Palestinian flag attached to it was
- 6:35stationed in the water off the major commercial port while a
- 6:39crowd chanted Free Palestine to banging drums.
- 6:43The Palestine Justice Movement, Sydney, They even got their own
- 6:46movement in Sydney. PJ.
- 6:49CMS organized the demonstration targeting the Zim ship calendar.
- 6:55Attendees were seen holding signs that said boycott Zim and
- 6:58end the Gaza blockade. PJMS organizer Ahmed Al Abadla
- 7:04said the Australian government should stop trading with Zim and
- 7:07other pro Israel companies. Like I said, I love it, You
- 7:10know, all these, we come here. We're going to live in the
- 7:14safety of Australia, thousands of kilometers away and then
- 7:16we're going to stand up and protest and make demands of the
- 7:19Australian government. You must bear to our will.
- 7:23You must stop trading, you must stop doing all these things
- 7:26because we want you to. I mean we're not from the
- 7:28country and you know we'll stand up and protest because you know,
- 7:32in because Palestine, Gaza, such a great place.
- 7:35We don't want to live anymore. We don't want to live there
- 7:38anymore, but we want you to bend to our will.
- 7:41Last month, Zim chief executive Eli Glickman said the company
- 7:46would be positioning its ships and infrastructure to aid
- 7:49Israel's defense ministry. Good on them.
- 7:52About 18 NSW Police officers were also in attendance on
- 7:55Tuesday evening, including mounted units.
- 7:58At one point, line of officers stopped the group from marching
- 8:01into onto Foreshore Rd. with the crowd chanting LET us pass.
- 8:04The protest moved to a serious road, one of the entry points to
- 8:09the port. Protesters were removed from
- 8:11their city and spots around 8:45.
- 8:14Protester Jenna Fayed, who is from the occupied occupied West
- 8:19Bank, said one of the PJMS missions.
- 8:23PJMS mission was to dismantle what she called the Israeli
- 8:29apartheid system. Seriously, I don't know if these
- 8:32people just don't understand language, but it's not an
- 8:36apartheid system anyway. I mean, far be it for me to look
- 8:42it up and, you know, actually explain to you what an apartheid
- 8:45system is. But it's not an apartheid
- 8:47system. I'm not saying it's a perfect
- 8:49system, but heck, it's not apartheid.
- 8:52Palestine had been suffering from a brutal military
- 8:55occupation for the last 75 years, she said.
- 8:58And you know why Palestine? 01 eyed I'll tell you what,
- 9:04Israel has completely shut off water, food, electricity, fuel
- 9:07and medical resources into Gaza for the last six weeks.
- 9:11It's the latest demonstration to occur in response to the
- 9:14overseas conflict in Gaza after protesters rallied outside NSW
- 9:18Premier Chris Mien's office on Monday.
- 9:23El Abadia Abadla. Sorry about mispronouncing your
- 9:27name El Abadla. He said he was disappointed in
- 9:30the state government's response to the protests because the NSW
- 9:34state government should be taking notice of what he says.
- 9:38I was one of those people who was cheering the Labour
- 9:40government when they won in the state and federal.
- 9:42I feel betrayed as a Palestinian, as a Muslim, as an
- 9:45Arab. See, so he doesn't even consider
- 9:48himself Australian. He's a Palestinian first, a
- 9:52Muslim 2nd and an Arab third. Nothing about Australia.
- 9:58If you don't consider yourself Australian, then go back to
- 10:03whatever flippant country you came from.
- 10:05Seriously, not, not trying to insult not.
- 10:11It's not something racist. It's I don't, you know, not
- 10:14against any particular group. I I just feel this across the
- 10:18board. It frustrates me when I see
- 10:21people come to our nation. And then insisting that we need
- 10:26to change or we need to do things differently.
- 10:29Our government needs to, needs to force the government where
- 10:33they come from to to change. And then our government should
- 10:36be bending to their will. Like I said, if you don't like
- 10:39it, go back, go back, it's all good.
- 10:43And this, this rhetoric about, you know, about occupied Israel,
- 10:51you know, in Palestine. Sorry, occupied.
- 10:55Occupied West Bank and Palestine has been suffering from a brutal
- 10:59military occupation. I mean, do people realize what
- 11:04Palestine, what Palestine want? So here's the thing the the
- 11:15mantra that Palestinians live by, and you you've probably
- 11:20heard this before, is from the river to the sea.
- 11:24Palestine will be free The the trouble is what does that mean
- 11:29you know when all these Palestinians and the whole I
- 11:33mean even the word Palestinian even the the even that name
- 11:37Palestinian do do these people realize where it came from and
- 11:41it was actually created as a a slur?
- 11:44I I don't know. Anyway, let's get back to it.
- 11:49So when someone says. From the river to the sea,
- 11:52Palestine will be free. What happens with the Jewish
- 11:58people? What happens with the Israelis?
- 12:00Because this is their mantra, This is what they this is their
- 12:04desire, their hope. This is what they want.
- 12:07They talk about apartheid. They talk about, you know,
- 12:11living, living under this apartheid system or being locked
- 12:17down, not being free to do what they want, but what they want.
- 12:21Is the complete destruction and annihilation of Israel.
- 12:26That's what that saying means. From the river to the sea,
- 12:30Palestine will be free if the Palestinians own have control of
- 12:36the river to the sea, there is no more Israel.
- 12:40So what they what they mean when they say that is they want the
- 12:44complete destruction of Israel. That's what they mean.
- 12:50So all I can say is people need to actually learn and actually
- 12:55do some research and what these things mean, where do some
- 12:58research and where the the Palestinian name, the name
- 13:02Palestinian came from, what it actually means, where these
- 13:08people came from, how they ended up being there, Why there are
- 13:12two borders. There are two borders from from
- 13:16that Gaza area, one into Egypt. And one into Israel.
- 13:21And yet no one's, no one's trying to get into Egypt.
- 13:25No one's just saying Oh well, stuff that I'm just gonna walk.
- 13:28I'm just gonna go to Egypt or have a bit of a look and
- 13:34question why doesn't Egypt, why doesn't Egypt take control.
- 13:41So all I can say these Australian protesters OK
- 13:45wanting. Palestine to be free, wanting
- 13:48the freedom, you know, the Gazan people to be free.
- 13:52Very disingenuous in just my opinion.
- 13:57If you really want that, if that's what you believe, go back
- 14:01to Palestine, go back to Gaza, go and go and help your people.
- 14:07Go and help get get rid of the Hamas regime.
- 14:13Go and help educate your own people so they'll stop trying to
- 14:16kill the Jews. Go and help.
- 14:19Try and better your your country, your people.
- 14:23Help try and unite it instead of coming here and protesting and
- 14:29demanding that we need to change and that we need to force Israel
- 14:32to do things and we need to listen to your will.
- 14:37That's just my opinion. Thanks for listening to the
- 14:41slippery slope
