- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome in to Dove All Daily, presented by Gen Jack.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Lua.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Thursday, December 18th.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: And right now, we are diving in to Jaguar's At Broncos a week, 16.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: Unbelievable matchup between the top seat in the AFC, the Denver Broncos, who are 12 and two.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: the Jacksonville Jaguars who are currently the third seed, both teams at the top of their division, AFC West and AFC South respectively.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: This is a huge game, 405 p.m. kick in Denver, Mile High Stadium.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot to get into.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Normally, I'm all buttoned up and I have a big outline, but I just kind of want to riff on this one because it's such a big game.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to kind of roll through it organically with y'all and have a really good time doing it.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what we're going to do right here right now.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate you tuning in.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: You can also check out jingjag.com.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new dooval gear like the hat I am wearing right now.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: Help support the channel.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: Look good while doing it.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: So to start this game off, I think we need to talk about the clenching scenarios.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: The Denver Broncos have already clenched a playoff spot.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: They can this weekend, clinched the FC West.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: The Jacksonville Jack Wars have not clenched a playoff spot,
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: They do have like a 98, 99% chance to make it depending on what model you look at, but they have the ability also to wrap up a playoff spot.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: So let's start with the Jaguars and then look at the Broncos, of course.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: So the Jaguars can clench a playoff birth this week.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: And this is not clenching the abs these out, simply clenching a playoff birth, right?
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars win over the Broncos plus a Colts loss or tie.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: If that happens,
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: Jack's a good to go, right?
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: And the cults are playing San Francisco 49ers.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's a pretty damn big game for the Jaguars and for the cults.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to look around the league and be talking about who you should cheer for in these matchups in week 16.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: But that's a Monday night football game, and Indy.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: 49ers and cults.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: It feels like the 49ers should be heavy favorites in that one, but if the Jaguars beat the Broncos and the cults lose or tie the Jags are in the playoffs, if the Jaguars beat the Broncos and the Texans lose or tie the Jaguars are in the playoffs.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguars tie and the Colts lose, the Jaguars are in the playoffs.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguars tie and the Colts tie plus the Texans lose, the Jaguars are in the playoffs.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: So the Jaguars basically, if you win this game over the Broncos and the Colts or Texans lose, you are in the playoffs guaranteed.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: Now, a playoff spot.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: Even if they don't plench it this week, the Jaguars are probably, I mean, just, it would be so ridiculous if the Jaguars did not make the playoffs.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: Because they have a game against the Colts next week in Indy.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: The Colts team that is bad at Embers a little bit, and then they finish this season against Tennessee.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: So they're probably going to get to 11 wins with that final game at the very least.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: Now, starting to look at this game.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's in mile high, right?
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: So you have the altitude you have to deal with, which that can
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: impact performance throughout in late games.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: It can be harder to breathe up there.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: It can make you a little bit more tired.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: Another some sports science about not being in the altitude as long can help you out.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see how the Jaguars play it out.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: I would expect the Jaguars will not be in Denver for more than 20, I don't think it'll be 24 hours.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think they will arrive in Denver less than 24 hours before the game.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that they will get there.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: less than 24 hours before the game should end.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think they want to make this a quick trip.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: That is what they have done on these West Coast trips.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: So you have the altitude factor that can tire you out a little bit.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: You also have the fact that the ball can travel further in the air.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: You have Cam Little has a chance to really do something special here.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's already done something special.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: Let's be really heezy.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: NFL regular season and preseason record for longest field goal but he has a chance to hit that 70 yarder potentially and you don't want to just force it but if it will organically happens throughout an endgame scenario that makes sense like end of half end of game if you have to to win or tie a football game.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're gonna probably trust in Cam Little and it'll be exciting to potentially see that.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a big factor to altitude, both on the Jaguars endurance throughout the game.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: Just the potential impact on the players getting tired in the fourth quarter, but also Cam Little's ability to absolutely nail that football up in the altitude, mile high stadium.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: So that's one way to look at this game.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think we can go ahead and look at Jaguars offense versus Broncos defense.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar's offense, passing game.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think right now, it's the best in the AFC.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: Point blank period.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think they have the best passing game in the end of in the F.C.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: right now not in the F.C.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: right now and a lot of that has to do with Trevor Lawrence.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: The comfort ability that he has gotten within this system throwing the football to Jacobie Myers to Britain's strange.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: You know acquiring to Kobe Myers at the trade deadline, getting Britain's strange back healthy Parker Washington's development, Tim Patrick growing into a role within the offense.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: The offensive line, three of the spots had been pretty good most of the year in past protection, but Walker little left tackle had been up and down.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Colvin and Lannon, it seems like has solidified that spot.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have a right guard, Patrick McCary playing better football as of late, especially in past protection as well.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have Lee Quinn Allen who can come in and chip and do a good job in past bro.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: Travis, he deansed on a better job in past bro this year than he has his whole career too.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: So you just have a much better past protection unit, you have better receiving talent, you have Brian Thomas Jr. back as well, who is able to kind of space the field a little bit more for you.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: Things are on firing on all cylinders for the Jaguar's passing attack lately.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence of the last four games has 13 touchdowns.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: It scored six total touchdowns last week, yet 380 yards, AFC, FedEx, air player the week, offensive player the week, whatever you want to call it.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence is dialed right now.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: Now, they just so happen to be going up against one of the very best past rushes and past defenses in the NFL.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: You start with Patrick Sertan.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: He is kind of the, he's kind of the son of this Denver Broncos solar system on defense.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: And Vance Joseph is an absolutely diabolical defensive coordinator who knows how to dial up pressure.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: Get it with five and get it with four.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: Big part of that is just the guys he has up front.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: They have a really good defensive front.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: The Denver Broncos do.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: They feature two really speedy Edd rushers and Jonathan Cooper who is kind of the Robin to Nick Benito's Batman and then you have John Franklin Myers and Zach Allen and a bunch of other guys up front that do a really good job and they're a great run defense too.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's one thing we can go ahead
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: Both run defenses are really good.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: The bronchodes have the second best run defense in the NFL.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have the best run defense in the NFL.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: Both of these teams are probably going to have to pass the ball to be extremely effective.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: You want to keep it balanced.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: You want to keep them respecting the run on both sides.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: But it seems like at some point in this game, both teams are just going to have to pass the ball to win the game.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: And whoever can do that better is probably going to win the game.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: So, the jags have a major test.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is the real test for them, offensively passing game-wise, like if they can succeed, against the Denver Broncos, throw in the wall.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know who's gonna stop them in the AFC.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's huge.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: And the Broncos, they've done a really good job throughout the season of just,
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: Creating pressure on the quarterback, getting sacks.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they have like 58 sacks this year or something like that.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's been unbelievable to see what they can do.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just kind of all firing on all cylinders.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: They're not a perfect defense, right?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: There are some injuries, you know, Brandon Jones went down with a pectoral injury.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: He's on IR, they're really good safety.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: So you have not a,
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a group that plays as well, as you might expect individually, but kind of the sum of the parts is greater than the individual with the Broncos defense.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: And again, part of that just has to do with the force multiplier that is Patrick Sertan, that is the past rush that his Vansjoz was ability to dial it up, all those things.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: But you look at some of the Broncos,
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: Defensive backs, I think that the Jaguars will have a chance to try to attack some players, Liam Cohen, create some matchups against guys not named Patrick Sertan.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's got to be the game plan to an extent.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: You can't completely avoid Patrick Sertan, but I think you do have the ability to target some other guys in coverage potentially.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think when you look at the linebackers, you look at Riley Moss,
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: To quantum McMillian, good football player at nickel as well, but somebody who, you know, you can potentially create leverage disadvantages for them.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: Again, out linebacker, you can definitely attack.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's what you're looking at.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think you're looking at attacking the linebackers.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: The cornerbacks, not name Patrick Sertan, creating mismatches against a man-based defense.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: And Liam Cohen has done a really good job against man defenses.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's just difficult to do a really good job against this man defense because they're so good at rushing the passer disrupting the pocket and then they have Patrick Sertan as well.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's just like really good on really good right now.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then you look at the other side of the ball, the Jack Wars defense versus the Broncos offense.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: Broncos looks like they're gonna have RJ Harvey.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: I know the Jack Wars were interested in RJ Harvey in the draft of this year.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: So that's kind of a little subplot.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: Other little subplot storylines for me here, besides RJ Harvey being a heavy interest of the Jack Wars and then now the Jack Wars don't have facial tuton available for this game.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: the Sean Payton kind of discourse talking about how when the jaguars were interested in potentially trading for Devon Ville, Sean Payton kind of ousted them.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: brought that up in a press conference.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he had any business doing that.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: If I was Liam Cohen, James Gladstone, Tony Bicelli, that would have pissed me off.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: Coaches just don't talk about the teams that maybe could have traded for this player or that player in press conference is very often.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't a secret that the Jaguars were looking for a wide receiver.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they went and traded for Tim Patrick and later on, they traded for Jacobi Mars as well.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: But I thought that that was really obnoxious.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think Sean Peyton likes to try to play mind games.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think he likes to get in your head.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: He is a great coach, right?
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's a wonderful motivator, tactician, and he's got bone-nix playing an extremely high level.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: Bone-nix is talented himself, but bone-nix in this offense playing at a high level.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think one of the biggest question marks for me of this whole game, and we talked about this earlier today a little bit.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: Portland Sutton, is he the same level of talent as a Nico Collins, a Devontay Adams, a Jamar Chase?
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: Probably not, but he's a legit starting outside alpha-wide receiver in this league at six foot four to 115 pounds.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: And he's been playing really good football this year.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: He has six touchdown catches.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's coming off a game against Green Bay, a team that
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: Right, Anthony Campanile was the linebackers coach, run game coordinator for the Green Bay Packers last year under Jeff Haffley.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's gotten a lot of inspiration from Jeff Haffley.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's not all Jeff Haffley, but, and it's different players on the back end, too.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jack Wars have a little bit more made well-rounded group on the back end, but the point remains, Cortland Sutton.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: He was targeted 10 times.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: Seven catches, 113 yards, and a touchdown last week.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: He was huge, and the Jaguar's have struggled against legitimate number one wide receivers.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: I believe Portland Sutton is.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: He has 886 yards, this year is on pace for over 1,000, six touchdowns.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think that if the Jaguar's can slow down Portland Sutton and not let him be this just chain mover,
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: big chunk plays all those things.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he had five first downs against the Green Bay Packers last week.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: If the Jag wars can limit that number a little bit, keep him out of the end zone, potentially.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be huge for this game.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: He is not.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: The Broncos only thread at receiver, but he is the one that I think.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: kind of has the archetype of the receivers that have beaten up on the Jaguars.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: Big, physical, super talented receivers.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: So that's kind of the thing I'm watching for in this matchup in a big way.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the Denver Broncos have a really good offensive line, really good protection plans and units and all that.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars they have a talented past rush too.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be good on good overall.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jack Wars linebackers as they always are going to be critical.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: For a look in Devin Lloyd, Dennis Gardeck, these guys have been playing like animals all year long.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Been playing so good.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: And so can they continue that?
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: The safety play has been really strong lately.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Murray's been good.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: Antonio Johnson, Buster Brown, Jordan Lewis, Jari and Jones all playing at a high level, Greg Newsome, and that other cornerback spots some ups and downs, which again is why I'm really watching Portland Sutton.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: But you also can't take away the fact that
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: Troy Franklin has been an effective weapon in the passing game.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: Evan Ingraham has been an effective weapon in the passing game.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: RJ Harvey.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: They also have Pat Bryant, who is a Bartrim Trail high school alum.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: You know, somebody who's a local guide here in Jacksonville.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: And he has been getting targeted more and more as of late.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: And he kind of has that big frame that he's not the same size as as Corlan Sonny's 6300.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: But over the last.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: three games he has been targeted six times seven times five times he's been coming up with a lot of catches he's been doing a good job moving the chains for the Broncos and that's another player you have two kind of big receivers that can give the jackwars a problem and you look at the last team they played that really presented that outside of the cults who just didn't have everything in place to be effective in that football game but the the
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: Nico Collins, Jaden Higgins, I think that this is kind of like a little bit of a lesser version of that, but coached extremely well, better pass protection, better quarterback than was in that game.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a huge test for the Jaguar's defense.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they will be able to stop their run.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Broncos' defense will be able to slow down their run as well.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: So both of these teams are going to have to pass the ball to be effective, which team can hold up in pass protection, give their quarterback the time they need, and
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: and which team struggles in that regard a little bit more and which quarterback to steps up and makes the plays more which quarterback plays a cleaner game.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be critical.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen versus this Broncos defense vans Joseph.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: Sean Payton versus Anthony Campanila, I think it's a great coaching matchup.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a great matchup on paper in a lot of different ways.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars, I think, when they are at their best, are the best team in the AFC right now.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: But the Broncos have been able to be more consistent throughout ball games, and especially in the critical quarter, the fourth quarter, the Broncos when it is winning time.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: the Broncos get the job done as well as anyone in the league they want 11 straight games for a reason and yes your Jaguars have won 5 straight games as well but this is just such a massive massive matchup for the Jaguars and if they win this game there will be no more doubters there will be no more doubters and we're gonna find out 4 p.m. Sunday
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: Mile high, hopefully some of y'all will be out there.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: If not, hopefully you're enjoying it at home with family and friends watching this football game cheering on your Jacksonville Jack Wars.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
