Buffalo’s Slip Three Becomes Wildlife Haven | Buffalo News
Buffalo’s Outer Harbor is getting a wild upgrade—literally. Slip Three at Wilkeson Pointe, once a shipping slip, is being transformed into a thriving wetland habitat using 80,000 cubic yards of dredged sediment from the Buffalo River. Instead of hauling it out of state, the city’s turning waste into wonder: the sediment will build up the slip, filter contaminants naturally, and support local wildlife. The EPA ensures safety, while kayakers can paddle by mid-September—and by 2035, this reclaimed space will be a peaceful oasis for nature lovers and birds alike. Listen in comfort:Get a discount…
