- 0:08Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:11access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:14genuine. Issues.
- 0:16Brought to you by the hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:18celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:23These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:26world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:33enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:38Hi, it's Adam here. And once again I'm outside of
- 0:41the studio out here in nature. And this time I'm in a place
- 0:46called Hampstead, Hampstead Heath, and I'm in the grounds of
- 0:50the Kenwood House estate. And specifically I'm just
- 0:56surrounded by the dairy house. And the dairy house was where,
- 1:00as the name would suggest, the rich people living here at the
- 1:04time would have a few cows that would have a dairy made, and
- 1:07they would turn that milk into things like butter and creams,
- 1:11desserts and other things. And I think that's an amazing
- 1:15metaphor for something I call emotional alchemy, which is
- 1:19where you can take one emotion that might not be useful, like
- 1:22anger or resentment, and turn it into something more useful.
- 1:25And I think this process of turning something in abundance
- 1:29like milk into something that's difficult and requires patience
- 1:33to create, like creams and cheeses, it's quite a good
- 1:36metaphor for that. So I'm going to be doing this
- 1:40hypnosis session. As you can see, there's no
- 1:42script. It's going to be completely
- 1:44freestyle and I'm just staring at the buildings of the dairy.
- 1:47There's the background of Hampstead Heath behind me.
- 1:50If you're listening to this, I would encourage you to either
- 1:52check out the video version of this either on YouTube or
- 1:57Spotify because that will give you a sense of the backdrop
- 1:59where I am. And occasionally if you hear a
- 2:02bit of wind hitting the microphone, you'll know it's
- 2:04because I'm outside and not in the studio.
- 2:07So to get the best out of this session, I'm going to encourage
- 2:10you to use your imagination. And using your imagination is
- 2:14often easier to do if you're in a quiet, comfortable place where
- 2:17you're not going to be disturbed.
- 2:18Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in and as you
- 2:35breathe in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of calm.
- 2:43And as you exhale, just allow your eyelids to close if it's
- 2:49safe to do so, breathing in that relaxation and and exhaling any
- 2:59tension as you breathe in. Just imagine breathing in pure
- 3:07resourceful relaxation. And as you exhale, just scan
- 3:15your body for any clues of stress, tension, or worries and
- 3:21just allow that feeling to feel like it's leaving your body in
- 3:27your outward breath, continuing to breathe in relaxation and
- 3:34exhale tension. And just allow any feelings of
- 3:40frustration or boredom to just feel like it's melting away.
- 3:47And notice that the deeper you breathe and the longer you
- 3:51exhale, the more you create a vacuum there in your diaphragm,
- 3:58enabling you to breathe from the diaphragm rather than the chest.
- 4:03And when you breathe from the diaphragm, you can breathe in
- 4:07even deeper than you were before.
- 4:11As you become aware that the deeper you breathe, the more
- 4:17relaxed you become. And the more relaxed you become,
- 4:21the deeper you breathe, each breath taking you deeper and
- 4:29deeper than the last dance in. And as your body relaxes, your
- 4:37imagination awakens. And I wonder if you could
- 4:41imagine drifting back in time, perhaps 200 years.
- 4:48Imagine drifting back 200 years to North London and seeing an
- 4:59impressive looking house. But you're not interested in the
- 5:04impressive house or the landscape gardens.
- 5:09You become fascinated in the nearby dairy.
- 5:16Just imagine a small holding of cows, just a dairy maid or two,
- 5:24and daily they would milk the cows.
- 5:28And I want you to get a feeling of just being an observer to
- 5:35that time because the dairy was like a sanctuary, almost like
- 5:44the main house is real life. And the dairy, it becomes this
- 5:52Oasis of tranquility where you get to escape normal life.
- 6:00And just imagine finding a scenic place to sit nearby the
- 6:06dairy, perhaps with the impressive trees of the nearby
- 6:12Hampstead Heath. Imagine it's a day with blue
- 6:17skies and sunshine and you can hear the slant rustling of
- 6:23leaves in the trees from the gentle breeze on that day,
- 6:31breathing in and breathing out. And I want you to notice a very
- 6:40comfortable blanket there on the floor with this perfect view of
- 6:47the scenery. And I want you to imagine
- 6:50placing your body so you can lie down on that blanket.
- 6:56And as I countdown from 12:50, your whole body will relax and
- 7:04you will imagine drifting off into a dream like sleep.
- 7:12And let's do that now. 10 eyelids feeling heavier and
- 7:16heavier, that's it. 9, Just releasing the tension in the
- 7:21jaw, breathing in relaxation and now exhaling. 8, Any tension in
- 7:30the neck or the shoulders, that's it.
- 7:35And then seven, just feel any muscles around your throat, your
- 7:41voice box, just relaxing now. And then six, just imagine how
- 7:49it would feel if your arms were limp, loose and heavy.
- 7:56And then five, imagine your lungs, your stomach, your gut
- 8:01all starts to relax now. That's it.
- 8:04Feeling like it's taking you on a journey back in time to a
- 8:09place of solitude, tranquility and relaxation.
- 8:16As five turns to four, your lower gut now sometimes where
- 8:20anxiety is. Just release any tension there
- 8:25and four turns to three. Just feel that it's now the
- 8:29perfect time for any tension in your legs to relax.
- 8:34Your whole body getting limp, loose, relaxed and heavy.
- 8:39And then two down into your calf muscles and imagine what it
- 8:44would feel like to begin to drift off into a dreamlike sleep
- 8:51that's in. And then one, even your feet,
- 8:55ankle and toes are relaxing. And then feel a ripple of
- 8:59relaxation to the top of your head, all the way down to the
- 9:02fingertips as you now imagine having a dreamlike sleep there
- 9:09on that blanket in that park 200 years back in time.
- 9:17And I want you to imagine what it would feel like, almost like
- 9:21you're accessing a past life. Imagine what it would feel like
- 9:28to be a dairy maid over 200 years ago.
- 9:33And I want you to think of those responsibilities to ensure the
- 9:41cows are in good health to milk them and no machines back then
- 9:47manually milking the cows, putting them into a very clean
- 9:52bucket and filling that pail, filling that pail with fresh
- 10:02warm milk. And just imagine the very
- 10:08process of milking that cow. It kind of feels like a
- 10:14cathartic release. That is, you milk the cow,
- 10:17you're also releasing anything that your body doesn't need, any
- 10:23worries, any tension, any stress or intrusive thoughts.
- 10:29And then imagine that you've collected that pail of fresh,
- 10:33warm milk, maybe from several cows, and I want you to think of
- 10:40that milk as an abundant emotion in your life, whatever emotion
- 10:48you have experienced most of the time.
- 10:55And for many people, common emotions might be feelings of
- 11:02stimulation, feelings of general appreciation, or low levels of
- 11:11stress. But I want you to reflect on
- 11:15your life. What is the most abundant
- 11:20emotion that you access most of the time?
- 11:26And for some people that will be motivation and enthusiasm, but
- 11:30for others that may be boredom or anger or frustration.
- 11:38But I want you to get a sense that here you are in the dairy,
- 11:44and the dairy is a place where you can turn one thing of
- 11:49abundance into something else that is rare.
- 11:56I want you to think of the emotions you would like to
- 12:00experience more often. And maybe that's joy, maybe
- 12:09that's creativity, maybe that's passion, maybe it's a relentless
- 12:17focus. But I want you to get a sense
- 12:21that whatever emotion you would like more of, you are now going
- 12:26to go through a process of turning the milk into something
- 12:32that would represent the emotion you desire more of the dairy
- 12:41Made in the dairy was responsible for collecting the
- 12:45milk and working with it in such a way that that milk turn into
- 12:50cream or yoghurt, perhaps even ice cream or cheeses.
- 12:58I want you to get a feeling that this requires patience,
- 13:03intention, and a process. So just imagine with that big
- 13:11pail of milk that represents your abundant emotion, you are
- 13:19now putting that through the process.
- 13:24And maybe that process is fermentation, maybe it requires
- 13:29stirring, maybe it requires a certain temperature.
- 13:35But I want you to get a feeling that your milk of your abundant
- 13:40emotion is going through a transformation, and we can speed
- 13:48up that process by collapsing time what would perhaps take
- 13:53days or weeks. Imagine it takes just a minute
- 13:56or two, but you can experience that transformation and ask
- 14:03yourself what would happen if you reduce that abundant emotion
- 14:12and increased this rarer emotion.
- 14:17And as you entertain that thought, I'd like you to imagine
- 14:23yourself no longer in the past, but in your present and your
- 14:28reality, with more of that very rare but powerful emotion.
- 14:38Maybe you see yourself with a whole new level of enthusiasm.
- 14:44Maybe you see yourself with more joy and you're just smiling all
- 14:48the time. Maybe you see yourself with a
- 14:53relentless work ethic or focus, or maybe with more gratitude
- 14:58than ever before. So just imagine observing that
- 15:04version of you, because in the dairy they didn't make one
- 15:09thing. They still kept some milk, but
- 15:13they would have creams and cheeses, yoghurts and perhaps
- 15:20desserts. And I want you to experiment
- 15:23with different emotions and imagine that version of you in
- 15:29the present with more of those emotions.
- 15:34And as you imagine yourself with more of those emotions, as an
- 15:39observer, you get to decide if that increases the quality of
- 15:43your life or not. And any emotion that doesn't
- 15:47increase the quality of your life is the wrong emotion for
- 15:53what we're experiencing right now.
- 15:58But there will be one or several that feels valuable for you, and
- 16:06when you see that version of you with that emotion and more
- 16:10abundance, step into that version of you and feel how it
- 16:17would feel to be living in your present or near future,
- 16:21experiencing that emotion more frequently.
- 16:29Many people operating an emotional Pareto principle.
- 16:37There are hundreds if not thousands of emotions, but
- 16:41they're living with just the same 7 And I want you to get a
- 16:46feeling of expanding your palate, having more options as
- 16:54to the emotions that you feel. Harness those emotions and set
- 17:00the intention that as you awaken, you will utilize.
- 17:06You will allow your abundant emotions to be the milk that
- 17:12evolves into cream and then something else.
- 17:16That's it. And as you've entertained that
- 17:19thought, find yourself back there in the dairy and see see
- 17:25what that milk has transformed into.
- 17:29Imagine tasting the creams, the cheeses, the yoghurts, and even
- 17:34the ice cream or desserts and harness that feeling.
- 17:39The transformation isn't just possible, it's inevitable when
- 17:45the right process is followed. And each time you taste one of
- 17:52those things, either now in your imagination or in the future in
- 17:57your reality, particular cheese or cream, you will activate the
- 18:04unconscious emotion that it represents.
- 18:09It's time to leave this dairy. And as you leave the dairy, you
- 18:12see someone looking exactly like you.
- 18:16They're fast asleep on a blanket.
- 18:19So imagine stepping into that blanket, taking all of these
- 18:23feelings with you. Imagine floating up and going
- 18:28back forwards in time, but also through space to your location
- 18:33where you are right now. Very soon I will count from 1:00
- 18:38to 10:00 to awaken you. But as you awaken, you will
- 18:41bring back these intentions, these resources, and a belief
- 18:49that frequent emotions can evolve into something more
- 18:52useful, powerful, and something that would make your life more
- 19:00enjoyable. So take a deep breath in through
- 19:04your nose and out through your nose.
- 19:08Just wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes as you start to
- 19:12calibrate and connect with the here and now.
- 19:14As I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken, you starting to
- 19:19count 123, waking up 456 more alert. 7-8 open your eyes, open
- 19:28your eyes, 910 wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
- 19:40Thank you for joining me on this guided meditation, this hypnosis
- 19:44session using an old dairy as a metaphor for emotional
- 19:49transformation. If you're watching this or
- 19:54listening to this and the particular emotion came up for
- 19:57you, let me know in the comments what emotion that was.
- 20:00It's really good feedback for me.
- 20:03As you know, most of the sessions that I record are in a
- 20:06studio and I love going out and recording these things in
- 20:11nature. But if you like this kind of
- 20:13stuff, let me know by either liking, subscribing, sharing it,
- 20:16or putting a comment because that lets the algorithm know
- 20:19that this type of content is useful for you or appreciated
- 20:25for you in some way. So that would be really helpful
- 20:27for me. Thank you so much for either
- 20:29watching or listening to this session, and I'll see you again
- 20:33soon on the next one. You take care.
- 20:37Thank you so much for joining me on this episode of The
- 20:42Hypnotist. And if you've got some value
- 20:45from this episode, I'd like to ask a favour is that all of the
- 20:49platforms have some way of you telling us that you like it.
- 20:54And that might be hitting the like button.
- 20:56That might be giving it a five star rating or a short review.
- 21:00And if it's possible and it is on Spotify and YouTube, if you
- 21:04can drop a comment with what value you got from the show or
- 21:08anything you liked in particular, that really helps
- 21:10the algorithm to put it in front of new people.
