Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Quotes really quick. Nimo said, we can turn it around
- 0:02Speaker 1: in an instant. Alonzo said, We've just got to win,
- 0:05Speaker 1: winning cells everything. But what's going on in that Mets
- 0:08Speaker 1: locker room?
- 0:08Speaker 2: Right? I actually agree with some of those stuff, But
- 0:12Speaker 2: I think the Mets are just one big moment from
- 0:16Speaker 2: making a turnaround. They saw it last year. But you
- 0:19Speaker 2: have to also look at your yourself in the mirror
- 0:23Speaker 2: and and and kind of ask yourself, where's our leadership?
- 0:28Speaker 2: Why was I with the team even though I was
- 0:31Speaker 2: in the sling because I felt like the team needed,
- 0:35Speaker 2: you know, some of the leaders around them. They needed
- 0:38Speaker 2: to see leadership. Now, the one question I have for
- 0:42Speaker 2: the Mets is who is gonna stand up and say,
- 0:46Speaker 2: I'm the leader in this team and this is what
- 0:49Speaker 2: we should do to make things happen. Because you can't
- 0:53Speaker 2: just sit out there see your league go away. So
- 0:58Speaker 2: much work I want in fifty six games. It's an
- 1:03Speaker 2: entire season almost, and you haven't really find a way
- 1:07Speaker 2: to figure something that you need to do in the
- 1:10Speaker 2: last fifteen to twenty days. Everything starts with leadership, and
- 1:15Speaker 2: I think they need to look at themselves in the
- 1:18Speaker 2: mirror and kind of figure out what they need to do.
- 1:22Speaker 2: They have enough experience, enough players, enough talent to go
- 1:25Speaker 2: out there and figure something out to beat up the
- 1:29Speaker 2: little teams like the Nostrums.
- 1:30Speaker 3: And it's funny just looking at last week when we
- 1:32Speaker 3: had them on we had on Monday where we didn't
- 1:35Speaker 3: have them on Monday, but Monday Peter Lonzo hit the
- 1:37Speaker 3: walk off which stopped the losing streak, and we're like, okay,
- 1:39Speaker 3: that was that big moment. He talked about a big moment.
- 1:42Speaker 3: The next night, Lindor and the guys go off, his
- 1:44Speaker 3: wife plays the violin. It's like, okay, things are starting
- 1:46Speaker 3: to hit up. So in our mind, the Mets are
- 1:49Speaker 3: back on track enough to at least get in that
- 1:51Speaker 3: playoff spot. And then what happens, Like what happens we're
- 1:54Speaker 3: not in that clubhouse. We don't know. But Pedro's right,
- 1:57Speaker 3: who's going to be the one to say, guys, ourselves
- 2:00Speaker 3: go way too far. Now we're in this position. We
- 2:02Speaker 3: have to find a way to win these last six games,
- 2:05Speaker 3: no matter what. If Cincinnati goes on to win six, okay,
- 2:08Speaker 3: we put ourselves in that position. But if they slip
- 2:10Speaker 3: up one time, we need to be ready to snatch them.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Man and when you're the team that's playing Chase, you're
- 2:15Speaker 3: just looking for any reason to be inspired.
- 2:17Speaker 4: I think the challenge though offensively, all those names you
- 2:21Speaker 4: mentioned are stepping up, all the ones doing it, and
- 2:24Speaker 4: it's like, all right, and you don't want to point fingers,
- 2:26Speaker 4: you don't want to blame. But that was always a
- 2:28Speaker 4: challenge for me Paedro, like, if offensively we're going or
- 2:31Speaker 4: we're struggling, Jimmy, you and I, we could call a
- 2:33Speaker 4: hitters meeting, right, we can start doing some things and
- 2:36Speaker 4: try to turn the bats around. Right, But if we're
- 2:38Speaker 4: scoring runs and we're doing it but we're still losing,
- 2:41Speaker 4: I always felt like a little weird to call out
- 2:44Speaker 4: the pictures, like is that a pitcher to do that?
- 2:46Speaker 2: Or do we still as.
- 2:47Speaker 3: The position players have to do that?
- 2:49Speaker 2: No, I don't agree with that. I think what they
- 2:53Speaker 2: need to do right now is actually take it personal
- 2:59Speaker 2: and just evaluate themselves around what they have done first
- 3:05Speaker 2: time all year, after being all year in contention actually
- 3:09Speaker 2: one of the favorites to actually do anything against any team.
- 3:13Speaker 2: And you found yourself four days ago in the middle
- 3:18Speaker 2: of everything, and all of a sudden, you see yourself
- 3:21Speaker 2: out there. You need to check yourself, and also it's
- 3:25Speaker 2: all mental. At this time of the year, You're not
- 3:28Speaker 2: gonna get in better physical shape. You're not gonna do
- 3:31Speaker 2: anything bigger than you have done the entire season. You
- 3:35Speaker 2: have already put the numbers. Now, what you need to
- 3:39Speaker 2: do is mentally stay in the game for the two
- 3:42Speaker 2: and a half hour, two hours and thirty eight minutes
- 3:45Speaker 2: on average that they go in a game one hundred
- 3:50Speaker 2: percent in that game, one game at the time. You
- 3:53Speaker 2: can't try to do too much or too little. You
- 3:58Speaker 2: have to just stay engaged with the game for two
- 4:01Speaker 2: hours and thirty eight minutes and hold everybody accountable. Mental
- 4:07Speaker 2: mistakes are not allowed, especially in the situation that they ought.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Let's take a look at the remaining schedules, because who
- 4:13Speaker 1: you face in these last six games are so important.
- 4:16Speaker 1: The interesting thing with the Mets, all six games are
- 4:20Speaker 1: on the road. The only four teams in Major League
- 4:23Speaker 1: Baseball with the worst road record Pittsburgh, Colorado, Minnesota and
- 4:27Speaker 1: Chicago White Sox four of the five worst teams in MLB,
- 4:30Speaker 1: so they're gonna have to turn that around. The Reds,
- 4:32Speaker 1: they got the Pirates right now at home, then at
- 4:34Speaker 1: the Brewers. The Diamondbacks had the hardest schedule.
