- 1:17Speaker 2: Yeah, before we do anything, we gotta give a shout
- 1:19Speaker 2: to the city of Atlanta. If you are familiar with

- 1:38Speaker 2: to Digital Brands Sure what is z at the end?
- 1:41Speaker 2: Then the process of help rebranding and redoing our website,
- 1:45Speaker 2: so we definitely gotta give a major shout out to them,
- 1:47Speaker 2: and shout out to Jazz Jackson. It's simply Jackson Instagram
- 1:52Speaker 2: from shot shot. She showed us major love out in
- 1:55Speaker 2: Atlanta and she's actually the connected between Digital Brands, So
- 1:58Speaker 2: stop by that website Digital Brands Thatt biz what is
- 2:01Speaker 2: he at the end and showed him some love because
- 2:03Speaker 2: those guys are amazing, they do great work. But we
- 2:07Speaker 2: have a very special guest here today Sean Bullert, who
- 2:11Speaker 2: his story is actually I was telling Troy like. He
- 2:13Speaker 2: actually fits all of the criteria of our website, of
- 2:16Speaker 2: our podcast. The podcast is the backstories of business, sports,
- 2:20Speaker 2: and entertainment, financial, so he does all three. He fits
- 2:24Speaker 2: all three, right, I'll give a quick over you. So
- 2:25Speaker 2: he used to be a professional athlete, played for the
- 2:27Speaker 2: Chargers on the NFL, and he's a real estate developer.
- 2:32Speaker 2: He is a serial entrepreneur. He has skincare line. He
- 2:36Speaker 2: has a bunch of stuff we're gonna talk about. And
- 2:39Speaker 2: he also was the star of a TV show, star
- 2:48Speaker 2: Ward TV show kind of like The Bachelor on on
- 2:50Speaker 2: on we TV.
- 2:51Speaker 3: So they were voted as the first African American Bachelor,
- 2:55Speaker 3: the first African Bachelor.
- 2:57Speaker 2: So that's that's the lion king of Bachelor in the
- 3:00Speaker 2: sports entertainment right down there. So first and foremost, thank you,
- 3:03Speaker 2: thank you for joining us.
- 3:04Speaker 4: No, man, it's a real pleasure of being here.
- 3:06Speaker 3: You know. I love you guys show. And then I.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Think I reached out to you. Yeah, I was like,
- 3:12Speaker 4: I was like, yo, brod need to be on your
- 3:14Speaker 4: what's up?
- 3:15Speaker 3: You know?
- 3:16Speaker 4: And uh, now it's an honor being amongst greatness. Man,
- 3:19Speaker 4: what you guys are doing? You don't you shouldn't be
- 3:23Speaker 4: surprised that you are blowing up this fast. I mean,
- 3:26Speaker 4: you guys are going to have you guys are going
- 3:28Speaker 4: to be on like TV TV, like one day.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I see it, you know what I'm saying.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Absolutely, and and even if they don't see it, you
- 3:36Speaker 4: guys saw it yourself. So I'm just honored to be here,
- 3:39Speaker 4: and you know, let's get it.
- 3:40Speaker 2: And I appreciate you. I appreciate you. So let's jump
- 3:42Speaker 2: right into it. Okay. So Sean, as I said, he
- 3:45Speaker 2: is from Philly and he went to Temple University, Shout
- 3:48Speaker 2: the Temple, Shout the Philly, and he was fortunate enough
- 3:50Speaker 2: to make it to the NFL. Right. So, the interesting
- 3:52Speaker 2: thing because we interviewed the NFL player before we interview
- 3:55Speaker 2: the NFL agent, and we got a lot of relationships
- 3:57Speaker 2: with a lot of guys in the league. But a
- 3:59Speaker 2: lot of guys, especially in the league, they reach out
- 4:01Speaker 2: to me and you know, they're interested in business and
- 4:03Speaker 2: interested in financial literacy, but it's not really taught to them,
- 4:07Speaker 2: right because especially being a star athletes your whole life,
- 4:09Speaker 2: you know, you're you're not really focused on business per se.
- 4:12Speaker 2: You're focused on your sport, right, You know, it takes
- 4:15Speaker 2: a lot to become a professional athlete, and even when
- 4:17Speaker 2: you get in the league, a lot of times, even
- 4:18Speaker 2: with a lot of financial advisors, it's more so just
- 4:21Speaker 2: trust my word.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Somebody else is handling the business.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah, but you actually you actually brought your first property
- 4:26Speaker 2: while you were still in college, right, yeah? So all right?
- 4:29Speaker 2: What made you want to invest in real estate when
- 4:32Speaker 2: you wasn't even you didn't even graduate from college. And
- 4:34Speaker 2: how did you actually invest in real estate? I'm assuming
- 4:37Speaker 2: your income was lower being a college student, Like, howd
- 4:39Speaker 2: that work out?
- 4:39Speaker 3: Right? Right?
- 4:40Speaker 4: So in two thousand and three, the reason I invested
- 4:46Speaker 4: in it will even made me start thinking about real estates.
- 4:48Speaker 4: I wasn't even thinking about real estate. I was just
- 4:50Speaker 4: thinking about ball and getting on scholarship. Because I walked
- 4:54Speaker 4: on the temple, I had to earn everything that I've
- 4:56Speaker 4: always had. And once I was so, I was bawling
- 5:00Speaker 4: and I was going to get on the full scholarship
- 5:02Speaker 4: because I was a college dropout. Actually I didn't score
- 5:05Speaker 4: over eight hundred on my SATs. You get five hundreds
- 5:08Speaker 4: for signing your name, but I was I was a
- 5:12Speaker 4: three way athlete in Catholic school all American. I fell
- 5:17Speaker 4: asleep on messages. I didn't even take it serious. I
- 5:19Speaker 4: didn't know it was that serious. And then I couldn't
- 5:22Speaker 4: even get into the schools that I wanted to get into.
- 5:26Speaker 4: So once that happened, I had to go. I went
- 5:29Speaker 4: to Johnson C. Smith in North Carolina, all black school,
- 5:32Speaker 4: you know, to get my grades up. I went down there.
- 5:35Speaker 4: I actually was hanging with the wrong crowd.
- 5:38Speaker 3: I got stabbed five.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Times, and yeah, you know, fighting like we had like
- 5:43Speaker 4: little gangs in college. Just like bro, like, just go
- 5:45Speaker 4: to school, like I'm looking back, like y'oll, you know
- 5:47Speaker 4: what I mean, Just go to school and get your degree.
- 5:50Speaker 4: I went back, uh you know, I was that was
- 5:54Speaker 4: the fall of ninety nine. I went back, you know,
- 5:57Speaker 4: the spring of two thousand and just to show like, look, man,
- 6:00Speaker 4: this ain't gonna beat me or whatever, like I'm not
- 6:03Speaker 4: scared to go back. And then after that it was like,
- 6:05Speaker 4: you know what, I always wanted to be better than
- 6:07Speaker 4: what I was, So than this, I always should have
- 6:11Speaker 4: been like at the bigger universities.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I went back home to Temple. Couldn't get in the Temple.
- 6:15Speaker 4: The next thing I know, I'm out of school. So
- 6:19Speaker 4: I'm working at a NCO Financial, which is a bill
- 6:24Speaker 4: collecting agency, and I swear to God, like this place
- 6:27Speaker 4: was like full of like X cons and strippers, you
- 6:31Speaker 4: know what I mean. And when you and when you
- 6:33Speaker 4: and when you think about it, that's who got the
- 6:36Speaker 4: gift the gap, X cons hustles and strippers, you know
- 6:38Speaker 4: what I mean, to get that paper out of you
- 6:40Speaker 4: know what I mean, you pay your bills or whatever.
- 6:42Speaker 4: And I remember and there was a dude named like Bill.
- 6:45Speaker 4: It was like this white gay guy, but he was
- 6:47Speaker 4: like always in like Polo Purple label.
- 6:50Speaker 3: He was one of the executives.
- 6:51Speaker 4: You know, they had the the executives parking spots with
- 6:54Speaker 4: the ferraris and the porches was or whatever. And then
- 6:57Speaker 4: you saw a lot of people that, like I said,
- 7:00Speaker 4: needed second chances or you know, if it was if
- 7:03Speaker 4: there was dancers, they still needed like a way of
- 7:05Speaker 4: shore a W two. So they worked there and they
- 7:08Speaker 4: was hustling, and I actually learned a how the gifted
- 7:11Speaker 4: gab and hustle being around that sector. After a while,
- 7:15Speaker 4: I started hustling myself a little bit, you know what
- 7:17Speaker 4: I'm saying. And we had like a park or whatever
- 7:20Speaker 4: that we we used to like sell pounds of weed
- 7:23Speaker 4: and all that type of stuff, and I started making
- 7:25Speaker 4: a little bit of money. But like like anything else,
- 7:29Speaker 4: like with with with women, you know, they put they
- 7:33Speaker 4: bring out the the and they influenced us. And I
- 7:37Speaker 4: remember my girlfriend at the time in college. It was
- 7:40Speaker 4: he used to play basketball for Temple, and we were
- 7:42Speaker 4: sitting on her couch and she was like, yeah, he
- 7:44Speaker 4: always he had just got picked up by the Sixers.
- 7:47Speaker 4: He was trying to make the team, and she was like,
- 7:49Speaker 4: he always first for me in my such and such class,
- 7:51Speaker 4: And that just put a fire under me, like you
- 7:54Speaker 4: used to be that, You used to be the athlete,
- 7:57Speaker 4: and now you know, you dropped out and you just
- 7:59Speaker 4: that and the third. At that moment, I made my
- 8:03Speaker 4: decision to go back to school and become what I
- 8:07Speaker 4: should have been, you know, a Division one athlete. And
- 8:12Speaker 4: I got back into Temple on like a preliminary basis
- 8:17Speaker 4: to prove like like basic classes on probation to get
- 8:20Speaker 4: back into you know, I got the noted actually, and
- 8:24Speaker 4: by the grace of God, a woman that went to
- 8:27Speaker 4: my church was in the emissions office, pulled some strings
- 8:30Speaker 4: and got me in. Like you need angels, you know,
- 8:34Speaker 4: some people say, look, some people say blessed. I think
- 8:36Speaker 4: it's like those two correlating artists. They wanted the same
- 8:39Speaker 4: but the two different things. And you know, and I
- 8:43Speaker 4: got in, and I made the team, and you know,
- 8:48Speaker 4: obviously became a full scholarship athlete.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Tragedy happens.
- 8:52Speaker 4: I break my femur playing West Virginia.
- 8:55Speaker 3: It was a dirty play by the fullback or whatever.
- 8:58Speaker 4: And next thing, you know, I might even be playing
- 9:00Speaker 4: football again. At that time, I realized me always weighing
- 9:06Speaker 4: the options. Football isn't forever, and I need if I'm
- 9:10Speaker 4: going to be rich or wealthy, I need something that's
- 9:12Speaker 4: going to make me rich or wealthy. And a friend
- 9:15Speaker 4: of mine put a bug in my ear along with
- 9:19Speaker 4: about real estate. I didn't really understand at the time,
- 9:22Speaker 4: but my dad was a former he was a construction guy,
- 9:24Speaker 4: so I kind of understood it, but not really. And
- 9:27Speaker 4: I read a book that I tell everybody to read,
- 9:29Speaker 4: Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and that Robert Kiyosaki, I was
- 9:32Speaker 4: your book to right. That got my wheels turning on
- 9:36Speaker 4: looking at economics and real estate differently because we don't,
- 9:40Speaker 4: you know, like you guys, said Rasha and Troy we
- 9:43Speaker 4: don't really self taught. We don't really hear about real
- 9:46Speaker 4: estate in the hood and wealth building and things of
- 9:47Speaker 4: that sort.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Because even at Temple you weren't studying anything that had
- 9:50Speaker 3: to do with real estate.
- 9:51Speaker 4: I wasn't studying nothing, man. I was studying girls in football.
- 9:54Speaker 4: That's what I was studying, you know what I'm saying,
- 9:57Speaker 4: and plays and how to take your head off you
- 9:59Speaker 4: can't across the middle. That's that was my thing. And
- 10:04Speaker 4: and music, of course, But other than that. Once I
- 10:08Speaker 4: started looking into that in two thousand and four, you know, I,
- 10:15Speaker 4: once I came back from my injury started to play
- 10:19Speaker 4: football again, I was I started looking at real estate
- 10:24Speaker 4: and learning and I went to a a conference called
- 10:29Speaker 4: National Grant Conference. And I tell people this my stories
- 10:33Speaker 4: listening to the little details because the whole way I'm learning.
- 10:36Speaker 4: But I haven't pulled the trigger yet. And I think
- 10:39Speaker 4: a lot of especially the day with the microwave error,
- 10:41Speaker 4: we want that instant gratification. I started thinking about real
- 10:45Speaker 4: estate in two thousand and three, but I didn't really
- 10:46Speaker 4: pull the trigger in two thousand and five. But for
- 10:48Speaker 4: those two years, I'm learning. So I went to a
- 10:51Speaker 4: place called NCO find not NC National Grant Conference.
- 10:55Speaker 3: And they went from and every.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Everybody has people people like this. They got hgt be
- 11:00Speaker 4: people that used to be on HTTV. Even now they
- 11:02Speaker 4: just go conference and conference what you call it? Even
- 11:06Speaker 4: does that on the breakfast club now, Envy and starting
- 11:11Speaker 4: to do that, you know what I'm saying. I shout
- 11:14Speaker 4: out to him for doing that. I definitely should be
- 11:17Speaker 4: one of the guest speakers. But like, and they would
- 11:21Speaker 4: tell you enough that actually they would drop some free
- 11:25Speaker 4: drunk gems. But then up to that point then they'd
- 11:29Speaker 4: be like, all right, if you want more, now you
- 11:30Speaker 4: got to give us a thousand dollars to sign up.
- 11:34Speaker 3: And I would.
- 11:35Speaker 4: I waited, and I went and I went to one
- 11:38Speaker 4: of the things. I learned some stuff, and they was like,
- 11:41Speaker 4: give me a thousand dollars. At that point in time,
- 11:43Speaker 4: what happens, seventy percent of the room always walks out, right.
- 11:46Speaker 4: I was one of the ones that stayed. But I'm
- 11:48Speaker 4: twenty years old. I had no money, like, you know,
- 11:50Speaker 4: a thousand bucks to give y'all. So I went home
- 11:52Speaker 4: asked my parents. They said, boy, you crazy, you better
- 11:54Speaker 4: go ahead finish college. So what I did as soon
- 11:57Speaker 4: as I went on scholarship. I took out out a
- 12:01Speaker 4: loan for a student loan for ten thousand dollars, and
- 12:06Speaker 4: that ten grand was a refund check because I'm on
- 12:09Speaker 4: full scholarship. And I took one thousand from that ten
- 12:14Speaker 4: and gave it to that.
- 12:17Speaker 3: To that conference.
- 12:17Speaker 4: And from that conference, I learned you got a little booklet,
- 12:20Speaker 4: and I learned something called a two or three k loan,
- 12:23Speaker 4: and that two or three K loan I mentioned ye
- 12:26Speaker 4: to mention that episode. And back in those days, which
- 12:29Speaker 4: was the good old days before people messed up the
- 12:31Speaker 4: economy in twenty eight and nine, you can do a
- 12:33Speaker 4: stated stated stated income, stated income stated, and I just
- 12:37Speaker 4: stated income. But it's a great thing if you got
- 12:43Speaker 4: du share responsibility and you.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Want to do the right thing.
- 12:46Speaker 4: What's your thing? But you know ninety percent of people don't.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Man you make you make the money. You won't go
- 12:50Speaker 4: out by Bentley or you won't get into the TV.
- 12:53Speaker 4: All my boys on the team, they was buying Jordan's
- 12:57Speaker 4: with their little per diemed from like the checks when
- 12:59Speaker 4: we would go play, and I was stacking mind.
- 13:02Speaker 3: You know.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Instead of living in the dorms, I lived at home
- 13:04Speaker 4: with my mom with my mom, and I wrote, I
- 13:08Speaker 4: wrote a lease from my mom to me as if
- 13:11Speaker 4: my mom was renting the room in my own house,
- 13:14Speaker 4: and made temple in Temple.
- 13:16Speaker 2: The scholarship money that gave the scholarship.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Money gave me the scholarship money.
- 13:19Speaker 2: So if anybody's not familiar, I interject because I used
- 13:22Speaker 2: to play. I went to the University of Hawaii. So
- 13:24Speaker 2: similar situation where you have on campus housing for athletes
- 13:27Speaker 2: and you have off campus housing. So a lot of
- 13:29Speaker 2: schools they kind of forced you to live on campus.
- 13:32Speaker 2: But some schools, like when I was in Hawaii, what
- 13:34Speaker 2: they did was they gave us the check for housing
- 13:37Speaker 2: and then we get apartments off campus. So the check
- 13:39Speaker 2: was like six thousand dollars. Right, then let's say your
- 13:41Speaker 2: apartment is three thousand. Now you got a difference of
- 13:44Speaker 2: three thousand dollars, so you can just splurge on Jordan's
- 13:47Speaker 2: or you can. But you was actually smart because you
- 13:50Speaker 2: kept all the money because she was living at home.
- 13:51Speaker 3: I was living at home. That's pretty responsible. Even like
- 13:53Speaker 3: the student loan.
- 13:54Speaker 5: Thing, like I know guys have done that, Like yo,
- 13:55Speaker 5: I'm gonna take out the student loan for more than
- 13:57Speaker 5: I really need.
- 13:58Speaker 3: And I'm gonna use it for something else.
- 13:59Speaker 4: But like exactly like you invested in your future, invested
- 14:02Speaker 4: in my future. And so I hope people listening just
- 14:06Speaker 4: in this world. To just get successful, man, you just
- 14:09Speaker 4: got to think outside the box and understand that everything
- 14:12Speaker 4: is possible and everything is like chess.
- 14:15Speaker 3: This is it's like a game.
- 14:17Speaker 4: So when I was when I wrote that, when I
- 14:19Speaker 4: wrote that, and understand, I hate people that say, oh
- 14:23Speaker 4: I can't or no, or they always got like the
- 14:25Speaker 4: first thing, well this ain't gonna work. How you know
- 14:27Speaker 4: it ain't gonna work. I told the university I'm living
- 14:30Speaker 4: at home. I had at least my mom wrote it
- 14:33Speaker 4: five hundred a month for the room. Hey man, you
- 14:36Speaker 4: gotta take it. It might be a loophole, but you
- 14:38Speaker 4: gotta take it right. So once I once, once, once
- 14:42Speaker 4: I did that, I learned the took out that ten
- 14:46Speaker 4: grand I had nine thousand left. I had nine thousand
- 14:48Speaker 4: left over, and uh I put that down on my
- 14:51Speaker 4: first duplex. Yeah, and it was. It was a doozy, man.
- 14:55Speaker 3: It was.
- 14:56Speaker 4: It looked like you know, bombs from Bad Dad. You know,
- 14:59Speaker 4: it was.
- 15:00Speaker 3: It was huge though.
- 15:01Speaker 4: It was like three thousand square feet and I fixed
- 15:04Speaker 4: it up. I ran into some problems with the builder.
- 15:07Speaker 4: You know, I had a pastor. He was a he's
- 15:10Speaker 4: a pastor at a church, and but he was he
- 15:12Speaker 4: was had his own construction company called Kingdom Builders. And
- 15:15Speaker 4: I was like, ain't no way in hell, man, I'm
- 15:17Speaker 4: gonna get jipp by a pastor. And I got jip by.
- 15:21Speaker 4: I ain't know what the hell he was doing. I
- 15:22Speaker 4: remember walking in. This was the day that And this
- 15:26Speaker 4: is fast forward two thousand and five. I got undrafted
- 15:28Speaker 4: free agent from the Charges. I'm back and forth for
- 15:30Speaker 4: two years, you know, on and on and off, like
- 15:34Speaker 4: like being in limbo with the team. And in two
- 15:38Speaker 4: thousand and five, I'm fixing up the house while I'm
- 15:44Speaker 4: in school with the pastor, uh.
- 15:48Speaker 3: At Kingdom Builders.
- 15:49Speaker 4: And I walk in and I see three guys painting
- 15:53Speaker 4: one window, one guy on the ladder painting, one guy
- 15:56Speaker 4: holding the actual bucket of paint, and another and the
- 15:59Speaker 4: third motherfucker watching. And that's when I was like, yo, nah, nah.
- 16:04Speaker 4: And that's when I was like, you know what, I
- 16:07Speaker 4: don't need nobody. I'm gonna start running my own job.
- 16:09Speaker 4: So I random brands their own job. I'm training to
- 16:13Speaker 4: make it to the league. I get an internship with
- 16:16Speaker 4: a real estate developer in Philadelphia, and at that point
- 16:20Speaker 4: this goes to the point I was we were talking
- 16:22Speaker 4: about earlier, you know, Rashid Is, I saw it. I
- 16:27Speaker 4: saw what I wanted to do because he was right
- 16:29Speaker 4: in front of me. This dude was worth almost a
- 16:32Speaker 4: billion dollars.
- 16:32Speaker 2: How did you get connected with him?
- 16:34Speaker 4: So how I got connected with him? It was a
- 16:37Speaker 4: good question. We had a senior a senior senior seminar
- 16:43Speaker 4: a billionaire brunching. It was called billionaire brunching in my
- 16:47Speaker 4: senior seminar class, and it was Steve Klein of a
- 16:53Speaker 4: declined company who ended up being giving me the internship.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Steve Corman of Corman Communities, which is Corman is huge.
- 17:00Speaker 4: I'm talking to billions. He got high rises down Manhattan, Philly.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Him and his sons run run the company. Now it
- 17:08Speaker 4: was a CEO of Citizens Bank at the time. And
- 17:11Speaker 4: then it was sister Mary Skellion who owns one of
- 17:14Speaker 4: the largest nonprofits in Philadelphia. And the night before I
- 17:20Speaker 4: did my research on Steve Klein and Steve Corman, so
- 17:24Speaker 4: I can walk up to him and this and Steve,
- 17:27Speaker 4: Steve Corman was like he was kind of he was like,
- 17:30Speaker 4: oh mega, Like dude was like too big for me
- 17:33Speaker 4: to even really like nothing against all due respects to
- 17:36Speaker 4: mister Steve Steve Klein, but Steve Corman was just like
- 17:40Speaker 4: I didn't really relate to him as much. But Steve
- 17:42Speaker 4: Klein was like cool, like real cool Jewish man.
- 17:47Speaker 3: He was.
- 17:48Speaker 4: He did projects like loft projects in like Maitland, Florida,
- 17:52Speaker 4: and he was he was he was huge. I mean,
- 17:54Speaker 4: he's huge, but he was. He was relatable to me.
- 17:57Speaker 4: And I walked up to him after we did the
- 18:00Speaker 4: runching and everybody's leaving, I'm walking towards I swear I
- 18:03Speaker 4: was the only student to walk towards them while everybody
- 18:07Speaker 4: was leaving out, And with that told me that nobody
- 18:10Speaker 4: saw themselves able to approach these cats. So, you know,
- 18:15Speaker 4: take advantage of your opportunities, you know what I mean?
- 18:17Speaker 4: I only have too many. I don't have too many
- 18:21Speaker 4: what's the word regrets When it comes to opportunities, I
- 18:24Speaker 4: take advantage to try to take advantage of all my opportunities.
- 18:27Speaker 4: Only regret I have is recently when I was interviewed
- 18:31Speaker 4: at UH this is fifty, I'm I'm a I'm a
- 18:34Speaker 4: huge fifty cents fan and I'm walking out and he
- 18:36Speaker 4: was in fifty was down there talking at the border.
- 18:38Speaker 3: I should have just.
- 18:39Speaker 4: Busted there, you know, Like, yo, bro, you've changed, like
- 18:43Speaker 4: you have been like a driving force in my life
- 18:46Speaker 4: and where I'm going. And like how much I looked
- 18:49Speaker 4: up to him, cause I look up to many people.
- 18:51Speaker 3: You own money for that fuck.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Some money for that fifty I mean that's a good
- 18:59Speaker 4: problem to have.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I mean the last dude ran up for him, he
- 19:02Speaker 3: was like, yeah, it ain't gonna but.
- 19:04Speaker 4: I was actually in this this is fifty office though
- 19:08Speaker 4: he was.
- 19:09Speaker 5: But that's true too, man, Like you saw something that
- 19:11Speaker 5: you could aspire to be. And that's something that we've
- 19:13Speaker 5: been trying to preach. It is like it's tough, especially
- 19:15Speaker 5: from in our community. You want to be something if
- 19:18Speaker 5: we've never seen it, Like every day the message of
- 19:21Speaker 5: athlete entertainer is put in front of us, whether we
- 19:23Speaker 5: like or not like it or not. So you saw
- 19:25Speaker 5: the opportunity. I mean, how many more chances would you
- 19:27Speaker 5: have to sit in a room with.
- 19:28Speaker 4: Billionaires, well billionaires?
- 19:30Speaker 3: Right?
- 19:30Speaker 4: And I saw it and went for it, right, I
- 19:32Speaker 4: saw it and went Actually where I just moved to
- 19:34Speaker 4: I moved to it so I can meet a billionaire.
- 19:36Speaker 3: And look what happened.
- 19:37Speaker 4: I met the friend of the billionaire and I've been
- 19:40Speaker 4: talking to him. He's really impressed. He can't believe how
- 19:43Speaker 4: far I've come on my own, you know, which also
- 19:47Speaker 4: left me though, And I'm coming down here today to
- 19:49Speaker 4: meet you guys. He emailed me off of something that
- 19:52Speaker 4: I was running by him three days ago, and he
- 19:54Speaker 4: was thinking about me in the entry on to say,
- 19:58Speaker 4: you know what I are where we talked about before.
- 20:00Speaker 4: I think I misstated what what you should do with
- 20:02Speaker 4: that property and ran it down. This dude is worth
- 20:05Speaker 4: over his portfolio is o worth over a billion dollars.
- 20:07Speaker 4: I'm on the train. I opened up my email. He's
- 20:10Speaker 4: he was thinking of me, and and you know which
- 20:13Speaker 4: is crazy. You You become the company you keep and
- 20:16Speaker 4: you who you aspire to be. So back to the story,
- 20:21Speaker 4: I'm walking up to uh, mister mister Uh, I call
- 20:24Speaker 4: him mister Cline. He hates it because he wants to
- 20:27Speaker 4: be like cool and young and uh, it's out out
- 20:30Speaker 4: of respect to you know, mister client said, I love
- 20:32Speaker 4: what you're doing in Maitland, Florida. I remember saying, I
- 20:34Speaker 4: like those apartments, those law apartments are kicking ass down there, this, that,
- 20:38Speaker 4: and the third. You know, I know I knew white
- 20:39Speaker 4: people that love saying kicking ass. So I remember saying
- 20:41Speaker 4: that to him and and he was like, who are you?
- 20:45Speaker 4: And I was like, I'm showing bullard And I was like,
- 20:47Speaker 4: I would love to intern with you. I was like,
- 20:49Speaker 4: it's not my major because my major was sport record
- 20:51Speaker 4: facilities management.
- 20:53Speaker 3: That's another thing.
- 20:54Speaker 4: When you go to college. You just get the piece
- 20:55Speaker 4: of paper. You know what I'm saying, Just get it.
- 20:57Speaker 4: You can be You don't even I never even used
- 20:59Speaker 4: my degree. And he said, all right, well I'll see
- 21:04Speaker 4: if we can give your internship. I said, look, you're
- 21:06Speaker 4: on the board, you donate a lot of money in
- 21:07Speaker 4: the university. Not gonna turn you away. Put the pressure
- 21:10Speaker 4: on him, and and next thing you know, a week later,
- 21:13Speaker 4: his assistant, who was still with him, gave me a
- 21:17Speaker 4: call and they gave me an internship. I was making
- 21:20Speaker 4: five hundred dollars a week and I would go, this
- 21:22Speaker 4: dude has a country club with mansions around it. I
- 21:25Speaker 4: was working the grounds there for like two weeks. Then
- 21:29Speaker 4: another week I would work at one, I'll be a
- 21:31Speaker 4: maintenance man in one of his like apartment building complexes,
- 21:34Speaker 4: and then the third week I would go and then
- 21:36Speaker 4: I would be suited up every day with the executives
- 21:38Speaker 4: in the boardroom talking about the next projects. And that's
- 21:42Speaker 4: and at that moment, one of his guys was his
- 21:47Speaker 4: VP of development.
- 21:48Speaker 3: His job.
- 21:49Speaker 4: And this is when when you're talking about, you know, Troy,
- 21:53Speaker 4: we don't see this in the hood. We don't have
- 21:54Speaker 4: this as an example.
- 21:56Speaker 3: His job.
- 21:57Speaker 4: He got paid two hundred thousand a year to fly
- 22:01Speaker 4: his to the beat the fly mister Cline's private jet
- 22:05Speaker 4: around the United States to find lane that he could buy.
- 22:10Speaker 4: I didn't even know that was possible. I was like, what,
- 22:13Speaker 4: you don't see it like a deaths all day. Dude
- 22:16Speaker 4: came in a line, came in, sued it up. First
- 22:19Speaker 4: dude I ever saw that, didn't wear that woars suit,
- 22:22Speaker 4: not with a tie. He had the two buttons. The
- 22:24Speaker 4: two buttons opened the first time I ever saw that.
- 22:27Speaker 3: So he thought that was so.
- 22:28Speaker 5: He's literally just like Google mapping, trying to find land,
- 22:31Speaker 5: trying to.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Find land, and he was he was mister client, say
- 22:33Speaker 4: hop on up. I remember mister clin coming into the office.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Runner he found on some land that he was going
- 22:37Speaker 4: to buy. He borts some land for like ten million,
- 22:41Speaker 4: and he was like yeah. Now he's like, now I
- 22:43Speaker 4: need you to go next week to Texas to look
- 22:47Speaker 4: at it.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Like he was like, I got you and on his jet.
- 22:50Speaker 2: So did you did you keep relationships with them with
- 22:53Speaker 2: him when you stayed when you was in the NFL?
- 22:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I kept relationships with them. And he actually took
- 22:59Speaker 4: me out the lunch about almost a year ago.
- 23:02Speaker 3: These guys a lot of mentors now, yeah, him, he.
- 23:05Speaker 4: He, mister Klein is like he's still hard to get
- 23:08Speaker 4: in contact. I got more other mentors that are that
- 23:11Speaker 4: are like the White Carry has been a big mentor
- 23:14Speaker 4: for me. I meant, he's a professor at Temple, but
- 23:17Speaker 4: he's major. He won't even tell me how major he is,
- 23:20Speaker 4: but he's super major. But yeah, these casts have been
- 23:25Speaker 4: like have been mentors, you know, absolutely. So when I
- 23:29Speaker 4: saw it, that's when I knew I wanted to be that.
- 23:32Speaker 4: That's when it was like, your NFL money ain't ain't
- 23:34Speaker 4: nowhere near this money for long, not yet, not for long.
- 23:38Speaker 4: So that's why like on my Instagram, you know, showing
- 23:42Speaker 4: the score. Zay underscored Bullard Is I try to.
- 23:47Speaker 2: I don't.
- 23:48Speaker 4: I'm not I'm not no square proper dude, you know
- 23:50Speaker 4: what I'm saying. Like I'm still like I'm from the streets.
- 23:53Speaker 4: I'm hooking. I'm just polished, and I try to keep that.
- 23:56Speaker 4: I try to take that hip hop and that polishness.
- 23:59Speaker 4: But referred to real estate to make you know our
- 24:04Speaker 4: can be able to understand it more. And it's I
- 24:07Speaker 4: think is starting to catch on.
- 24:08Speaker 2: All right, You're in the right place for that, that's right,
- 24:12Speaker 2: all right, So we're going so now in the next segment,
- 24:14Speaker 2: we're gonna talk about real estate in your new phase
- 24:17Speaker 2: your life, all right. So now we're going to go
- 24:19Speaker 2: in the second segment. And so you played two years
- 24:21Speaker 2: in the NFL, and that's like right along the lines,
- 24:25Speaker 2: somebody's in the NFL stands for not for long, right,
- 24:27Speaker 2: because NFL players don't have a long career, right, They
- 24:29Speaker 2: don't even really make that much money relative to like
- 24:31Speaker 2: baseball and basketball. Right. So you play two years in
- 24:34Speaker 2: the league and then you come back to Philly, and
- 24:36Speaker 2: now you start your second phase of life, whereas you're
- 24:38Speaker 2: a real estate developer, right, But for commercial properties. So
- 24:42Speaker 2: it's interesting because we spoke of came a lot of
- 24:43Speaker 2: people doing real estate right now, which is encouraging. Good.
- 24:46Speaker 2: We need everything, so yeah, we got to own as
- 24:49Speaker 2: much as possible we can. But you only see a
- 24:51Speaker 2: lot of people on the on the development side, especially
- 24:55Speaker 2: the development side as far as commercial properties. Right. So,
- 25:00Speaker 2: coming back from the league, starting from scratching real estate,
- 25:02Speaker 2: well pretty much you had one property, but not you know,
- 25:04Speaker 2: an empire. What made you want to develop your own
- 25:07Speaker 2: real estate company? And how what was the steps you
- 25:10Speaker 2: took to do that?
- 25:12Speaker 4: Bottom line, I didn't trust nobody, and I understood that.
- 25:19Speaker 3: It's a term.
- 25:19Speaker 4: It's called you have to manage the labor. And when
- 25:23Speaker 4: you manage the labor or manage the work, a lot
- 25:26Speaker 4: of people they trust too much in the other people
- 25:29Speaker 4: with their own destiny. And when you're starting out early on,
- 25:33Speaker 4: that's what you're doing. And when I told you guys
- 25:37Speaker 4: about three guys painting one window, I was like, you
- 25:40Speaker 4: know what, I gotta be here looking at these cats
- 25:43Speaker 4: getting the most out of them. Because when people understand
- 25:46Speaker 4: what real estate man as soon as that you sign
- 25:49Speaker 4: that note for that loan, it's like ready to go.
- 25:54Speaker 4: That interest is starting to kick in. You got to
- 25:56Speaker 4: start making payments on that money. And you know you
- 26:00Speaker 4: speed is the name of the game. So uh that's
- 26:05Speaker 4: why I said, you know what, and now I know
- 26:07Speaker 4: what it means. I'm still you know, I'm still learning.
- 26:10Speaker 4: But I set up a vertical supply chain, you know,
- 26:14Speaker 4: which is basically a company that is three companies within itself.
- 26:19Speaker 4: So I'm the guy that does the acquisition. I got
- 26:22Speaker 4: my own construction company and I got my own management
- 26:25Speaker 4: company all in house.
- 26:27Speaker 3: How long did it take you to do that?
- 26:28Speaker 4: I did that right away. I was doing that when
- 26:30Speaker 4: it was just me. I was, I was you know,
- 26:34Speaker 4: all those roles. You know what I'm saying. I still
- 26:37Speaker 4: and I'm the CEO. I still do that, you know
- 26:39Speaker 4: what I'm saying. I got but now I'm not the
- 26:41Speaker 4: guy fixing the toilet in the management three different companies,
- 26:45Speaker 4: three different companies.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Yeah, so.
- 26:49Speaker 4: You got you know, Concrete Investments in LLC and then
- 26:53Speaker 4: uh you know Watchman PM and those three those three
- 26:58Speaker 4: companies you know, handle like those three roles. So the
- 27:03Speaker 4: commercial side of it, because commercial can seem like when
- 27:07Speaker 4: people commercial can be residential as well. So commercial real
- 27:12Speaker 4: estate is not just strip.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Malls or like whatever.
- 27:16Speaker 4: You know, one story commercial joint commercial real estate can
- 27:18Speaker 4: be which I do. I do most of myself is
- 27:21Speaker 4: mixed use. That's the technical term. Where you got apartments
- 27:25Speaker 4: upstairs and you got commercial space downstairs. And that was
- 27:29Speaker 4: just always something that would appeal to me. Whish I like,
- 27:33Speaker 4: I always wanted to be the dude that would like
- 27:36Speaker 4: I understood early on, I think me being a part
- 27:38Speaker 4: of the community, I understood how commercial space can can
- 27:43Speaker 4: sway or influence the direction of a community. So a
- 27:48Speaker 4: lot of people were just caring about, you know, houses
- 27:55Speaker 4: or apartments or duplex. I would go for, hey, man,
- 27:59Speaker 4: if I can put two apartments upstairs and then have
- 28:01Speaker 4: a commercial space downstairs, that would be really dope. Also, houses,
- 28:06Speaker 4: I didn't. After fourteen years doing this, I did my
- 28:09Speaker 4: first house last year. That was my first house ever.
- 28:13Speaker 4: I've never done just one house, a single super fan house,
- 28:18Speaker 4: like an investor you invested in flip, you know, it
- 28:20Speaker 4: was always at least a duplex, you know what I mean,
- 28:22Speaker 4: or a four unit or six unit. Never did one
- 28:25Speaker 4: house because one house to me was like it wasn't
- 28:28Speaker 4: enough to put all that work in the one house
- 28:31Speaker 4: and then you got the one income coming out Another thing.
- 28:33Speaker 4: I'm not a flipper. I hold all my stuff, I
- 28:35Speaker 4: build wealth. So I always wanted multiple forms of income
- 28:39Speaker 4: coming from under one roof. Rental property, so one of property.
- 28:43Speaker 4: So one of the most detrimental things you can do
- 28:46Speaker 4: in real estate. And why multifamily is so great, I
- 28:51Speaker 4: mean literally great, is because you now, if you have
- 28:55Speaker 4: one house and you you rent that house out right
- 29:00Speaker 4: or you rent that house out, that tenant leaves you
- 29:03Speaker 4: have no more income. If I have three apartments under
- 29:08Speaker 4: one roof, which is a triplex, one tenant leaves, I'm
- 29:11Speaker 4: still making income from the second third floor of vice versa.
- 29:14Speaker 4: So I always understood that I need multiple forms of
- 29:20Speaker 4: income coming from under one roof. Also with that, even
- 29:24Speaker 4: when you're flipping, I always try to if it was
- 29:29Speaker 4: a three story house, I would say, see if I
- 29:31Speaker 4: could legally zone it to make it a duplex that
- 29:34Speaker 4: have two apartments under under one roof. You know why
- 29:39Speaker 4: because now I make more money for the same amount
- 29:41Speaker 4: of work. So if I got a three story house
- 29:44Speaker 4: and now I can turn into two apartments, I can
- 29:48Speaker 4: now make an apartment on the first floor and the basement.
- 29:51Speaker 4: That's a bi level. I could put a two bedroom,
- 29:53Speaker 4: two bath that way. I make the basement lower, make
- 29:55Speaker 4: it a nice ceiling, put some egress windows in there.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Now you got light coming in to that basement. Doesn't
- 30:01Speaker 4: feel like a basement, feels like a lower level. And
- 30:03Speaker 4: now on the second and third floor, I actually have
- 30:06Speaker 4: another apartment. I would give that second and third.
- 30:08Speaker 3: For a roof deck. And I still do this to
- 30:09Speaker 3: this day.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Now for the same amount of work that might only
- 30:13Speaker 4: be able to get four hundred thousand for that house,
- 30:16Speaker 4: I'm now getting three hundred thousand for two apartments. So now,
- 30:19Speaker 4: and then took that same structure and added two hundred
- 30:23Speaker 4: thousand to the to the to the takeout on it
- 30:25Speaker 4: for the same amount of work.
- 30:26Speaker 5: So at the height of this, like, how many properties
- 30:28Speaker 5: will you manage at the same.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Time this year alone, I'm doing about forty two units
- 30:35Speaker 4: forty two actively managed. No, I actually I actually managed
- 30:39Speaker 4: over one hundred units, but for this year long, Okay,
- 30:43Speaker 4: you're going to add forty two I'm adding forty two
- 30:45Speaker 4: units to my portfolio.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Okay, how mean?
- 30:47Speaker 2: How mean? Do you have a total of over one
- 30:49Speaker 2: hundred yeah? Okay? And it all makes use properties multifamily. Okay,
- 30:56Speaker 2: all in Philly. So how long of a process did
- 30:59Speaker 2: it take you to go from zero to one hundred
- 31:03Speaker 2: and something?
- 31:04Speaker 4: I mean, I've been doing this for a while now,
- 31:05Speaker 4: I mean, you know, like I said, a decade. You know,
- 31:09Speaker 4: I've been doing it for a while. But I sold
- 31:10Speaker 4: some stuff and then flipped it right back.
- 31:13Speaker 2: You know, you spoke about the two or three k
- 31:14Speaker 2: long do you use that a lot or that was
- 31:16Speaker 2: just for the first property. I was my only Yeah, yeah, okay,
- 31:20Speaker 2: So when you as far as you're financing traditional finances
- 31:23Speaker 2: from the bank at this point, all of the properties
- 31:26Speaker 2: that you're buying right now is from ground.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Up, most of them.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm doing my first two three rehabs in a while,
- 31:32Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying, Like like rehabs in a while,
- 31:35Speaker 4: and they're cool because they're like old, like they're like
- 31:39Speaker 4: the corner corner properties. One of them putting my new cafe,
- 31:43Speaker 4: and they got like the brick walls. I mean it
- 31:45Speaker 4: like looked like lost, like like old like factory like
- 31:49Speaker 4: a little small factories. But other than that, it's been
- 31:51Speaker 4: new construction. So I basically botto land go to the bank.
- 31:57Speaker 4: Understand when you're financing, A bank will get give you
- 32:00Speaker 4: about seventy five percent loan to value, So I don't
- 32:05Speaker 4: know if your boy broke it down.
- 32:06Speaker 2: You talk abou.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 32:09Speaker 4: So basically, let's say your property is worth I'm gonna
- 32:12Speaker 4: keep the number simple. If it's worth one hundred thousand
- 32:15Speaker 4: dollars and the banker gives you seventy five percent, they'll
- 32:19Speaker 4: give you seventy five thousand dollars to buy it and
- 32:22Speaker 4: fix it up. Right, to buy it and fix it up.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Me, I want my.
- 32:28Speaker 4: Properties always at no more than fifty five percent loan
- 32:32Speaker 4: the value that's buying it and fix it up. So
- 32:35Speaker 4: when I get done buying it building it, I want
- 32:38Speaker 4: to be at fifty five percent equity. So the main
- 32:41Speaker 4: thing you need to do is understand how much is
- 32:44Speaker 4: going to be worth once it's done. Don't worry about
- 32:47Speaker 4: how much is worth right now. Don't worry about how
- 32:50Speaker 4: much you're buying it for right now. Some of the
- 32:52Speaker 4: properties that I've done that's worth about five You know,
- 32:56Speaker 4: one of my probably is worth about five million. I
- 32:58Speaker 4: got into the deal by only having on hundred and
- 32:59Speaker 4: fifty grand in the total project. Now, excuse me, like
- 33:03Speaker 4: six Mili. You know, because I leveraged the money, but
- 33:07Speaker 4: I understood how much it was going to be worth
- 33:09Speaker 4: once I build it. That is the main thing. Like
- 33:14Speaker 4: you know when they say, you know, I make money
- 33:17Speaker 4: when I buy land or when I buy the property.
- 33:20Speaker 4: That is the rule the Bible. You make money when
- 33:24Speaker 4: you buy it. So once you buy it, once you
- 33:28Speaker 4: build it, and now you have that equity.
- 33:30Speaker 3: So if I'm at fifty five, if I.
- 33:32Speaker 4: At fifty percent, the bank is going to give me
- 33:34Speaker 4: seventy five percent. That twenty five percent is my cash out.
- 33:39Speaker 4: That's my money called it. You gotta have the wind
- 33:41Speaker 4: built in. Yeah, to have the wind built in. I
- 33:44Speaker 4: take that twenty five percent, I dump it. I'm back
- 33:47Speaker 4: here the rule, that tape, I'm putting it back on
- 33:49Speaker 4: the board.
- 33:49Speaker 2: You know what I'm So, the bank gives you a
- 33:52Speaker 2: one hundred thousand dollars property. The banks gives you seventy
- 33:55Speaker 2: five thousand cash.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Seventy not cash.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Great world was cast. They gonna they're gonna slow roll
- 34:02Speaker 4: your ass to that. So what they do, so let
- 34:05Speaker 4: let me let me, let me let me break it
- 34:06Speaker 4: down like this. Let's say the property is worth gonna
- 34:10Speaker 4: be worth one hundred grand. Right, once it's done, it's
- 34:14Speaker 4: let's say it's a house, this is and it's and
- 34:16Speaker 4: let's say right now, it's a shell, and you buying
- 34:18Speaker 4: a shell right now for twenty thousand. Right, it's gonna
- 34:22Speaker 4: take you another thirty thousand to.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Fix it up.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Now that is, you bought it for twenty you fix
- 34:29Speaker 4: it up for thirty. It's worth one hundred. Bank is
- 34:33Speaker 4: now gonna turn around and give you seventy five thousands.
- 34:35Speaker 3: You're built twenty five.
- 34:37Speaker 4: So now that twenty seventy five, that twenty five thousand
- 34:39Speaker 4: dollars is going, that's your money. They're gonna cut you
- 34:43Speaker 4: a check. Now, they're cutting you a check, But that
- 34:45Speaker 4: thirty the ain't gonna cut you a check. They're gonna say,
- 34:47Speaker 4: all right, get the the demo and the framing done first,
- 34:50Speaker 4: and they will come out and give you a draw.
- 34:52Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 34:52Speaker 4: So when they say, you know, you know you do
- 34:54Speaker 4: need some money to make money in this business, you.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Know what I'm saying.
- 34:57Speaker 4: Or you gotta have a good a great contractor. That
- 34:59Speaker 4: is another thing. Have a great contractor, and a great
- 35:03Speaker 4: contractor is worth every penny, even if you're paying more
- 35:07Speaker 4: down the street. A great contractor would take you to
- 35:11Speaker 4: the touchdown, holy grail, whatever you want to call it.
- 35:15Speaker 5: So, what's the time frame Since you're developing and you're
- 35:17Speaker 5: putting the frame, what's the time frame on on ground up.
- 35:20Speaker 4: I'm one of the fastest builders, I believe in the country.
- 35:22Speaker 4: I just built thirty thousand square feet in seven months.
- 35:25Speaker 4: This guy's taking two years to do that. I got
- 35:29Speaker 4: a great crew. I always want. I told you, man,
- 35:32Speaker 4: that money, once it hits is ready to go. So
- 35:36Speaker 4: I would say normally if it's a house you want
- 35:40Speaker 4: to be in and out of, like a dependents. That's
- 35:42Speaker 4: so hard because it depends on the size of the project.
- 35:44Speaker 4: I mean, that's thirty thousand and seven months. That's pretty impressive. Yeah,
- 35:48Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. So, but that comes with
- 35:50Speaker 4: tom too. That comes with time too, or having a
- 35:53Speaker 4: having a great builder, you know what I mean. And
- 35:56Speaker 4: some guy that's all they do. They just can they
- 35:58Speaker 4: just are contractors.
- 36:00Speaker 3: Drawn up the plans for it.
- 36:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I got architects, So I have architects that drop
- 36:05Speaker 4: up the plans. Early on, I would draw my own plans,
- 36:07Speaker 4: my my my architectural plans.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Early on was going to a property.
- 36:10Speaker 4: I would spray paint the layout and then I would
- 36:13Speaker 4: say follow that, and my guys are followed.
- 36:16Speaker 2: So like for then he said something interesting. He was
- 36:17Speaker 2: saying that his networth I think it was like over
- 36:19Speaker 2: like twenty million in probably something like that. But he
- 36:21Speaker 2: said he's net worth rich cash flow poor because it's
- 36:26Speaker 2: hard for him to get loans from the bank because
- 36:28Speaker 2: on paper it looks like he's worth a lot of money,
- 36:30Speaker 2: but he's not keeping a lot of money. He's not
- 36:32Speaker 2: showing a lot of money because the money's constantly going
- 36:35Speaker 2: back in. You run into that problem, or because you
- 36:38Speaker 2: get traditional financing.
- 36:39Speaker 4: So after you as a developer, you always want to
- 36:42Speaker 4: be cash poor. I'm I'm cash, I'm cash flow. I
- 36:46Speaker 4: hate the word rich. I'm cash, but I'm cash flowing
- 36:48Speaker 4: like great. But I have, you know, debt, good debt,
- 36:53Speaker 4: the cash in the bank. I'm not supposed to keep
- 36:56Speaker 4: cash in the bank, you know what I mean. People
- 36:58Speaker 4: gotta understand money ain't yours. To keep money is to
- 37:02Speaker 4: throw back in, and you do run it into run
- 37:05Speaker 4: into those I used to run explain it.
- 37:07Speaker 2: I don't want that's very important what you said. Can
- 37:09Speaker 2: you fully explain that? Because I remember Dan Dad said
- 37:13Speaker 2: that before, like I'm put my money back in the street.
- 37:16Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, I'm never gonna hold money.
- 37:17Speaker 2: A lot of people don't fully understand when he said that, but.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Even Fernando said that.
- 37:21Speaker 5: He was like, anytime I see money in my bank,
- 37:23Speaker 5: I thinking I could be using that somewhere else.
- 37:25Speaker 4: Can you explain that? Like you gotta constantly put the
- 37:27Speaker 4: money back in. You gotta constantly put the paper back in.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Man.
- 37:30Speaker 4: You gotta you know, like I gotta say it, willing
- 37:34Speaker 4: and dyling. You gotta constantly be willing and dealing, you know, smart, smart,
- 37:39Speaker 4: but willing and daling. So if I got money and
- 37:41Speaker 4: I'm holding in the bank right and I'm just watching
- 37:45Speaker 4: the bank and look prettier with it, I got a
- 37:46Speaker 4: million dollars in the bank.
- 37:48Speaker 3: Earns, what's up?
- 37:49Speaker 5: You ever walk into a small business and everything just works,

- 40:38Speaker 4: Pretty that million dollars need to be like little soldiers
- 40:40Speaker 4: out working for me. What is it doing for me
- 40:43Speaker 4: is losing money due to inflation. So I need to
- 40:46Speaker 4: be finding more deal or if I make it then
- 40:49Speaker 4: Uncle Sam will come and try to take it right,
- 40:51Speaker 4: So I need to be putting it back into a
- 40:54Speaker 4: deal to make me more money. So that's it's just
- 40:59Speaker 4: a normal concept. Money is not yours to like keep.
- 41:04Speaker 4: Money is as soon as you get it. It's a
- 41:06Speaker 4: reason why you pay your bills and why you pay this,
- 41:08Speaker 4: and why you pay that, and you get it again
- 41:10Speaker 4: and now.
- 41:10Speaker 3: You gotta pay people or whatever.
- 41:12Speaker 4: That's the purpose of Once people start understanding that money
- 41:16Speaker 4: is meant to be used, not ardered, you'll start making
- 41:20Speaker 4: You'll start seeing your business and things grow. Money is
- 41:24Speaker 4: also for to invest in people. I don't I have
- 41:28Speaker 4: a small staff. Your people is going to take you
- 41:31Speaker 4: to the to the promised land. My contractor my content,
- 41:35Speaker 4: my forming man.
- 41:36Speaker 3: That dude, you know those guys. Man, they make more
- 41:38Speaker 3: than doctors.
- 41:39Speaker 4: But you know what, they treat my stuff like it's theirs.
- 41:42Speaker 4: I mean, they'll come. It's raining. We don't even have
- 41:45Speaker 4: the plumbing service in one of my apartment buildings. This
- 41:47Speaker 4: is a big you know, it's a five thousand square
- 41:49Speaker 4: foot roof. He's going over there in the middle of
- 41:52Speaker 4: the night to make sure that the water pump is
- 41:53Speaker 4: well is working.
- 41:54Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 41:55Speaker 4: It's not even his property. But that's the type of
- 41:58Speaker 4: guys you want working for you. That's me and I
- 42:00Speaker 4: was with this dude. I've been investing in this guy
- 42:03Speaker 4: for seven years, you know what I'm saying, when he
- 42:04Speaker 4: was starting out his little company. So you always is
- 42:09Speaker 4: willing and Dylan, you always just putting the money back
- 42:11Speaker 4: in to grow your business.
- 42:12Speaker 3: This is like you got to like real all money
- 42:14Speaker 3: in campaign.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Now it's all money. And that's why when he said that,
- 42:18Speaker 2: it's more. It's bigger than just the wrapping slogan, like
- 42:20Speaker 2: it's all money in and that's I'm glad you said
- 42:22Speaker 2: that because people people do all the time. We spoke
- 42:25Speaker 2: about it with Chris Gotti, where people skim on the
- 42:27Speaker 2: point things and they don't want to pay people or
- 42:30Speaker 2: they don't want to put money back into their business.
- 42:32Speaker 2: They want to just live off of that money. Like
- 42:35Speaker 2: you know what I mean, It's like selfish. They get
- 42:37Speaker 2: a thousand dollars. Now they want to go to Miami
- 42:40Speaker 2: for the weekend. Like, now we're in business, you gotta
- 42:43Speaker 2: put that money back in. You might not really be
- 42:45Speaker 2: able to fully ball off of your business for two years,
- 42:47Speaker 2: three years, sometimes even five years, but in that time
- 42:49Speaker 2: it's like a snowball effect. The problem is that you
- 42:52Speaker 2: keep taking money from it, You're never going to chance
- 42:54Speaker 2: to grow. It's always going to be where you started
- 42:57Speaker 2: at exactly. It's always gonna be where you started.
- 43:00Speaker 4: Vacations, man, like my vacation, I haven't even been overseas yet.
- 43:04Speaker 4: I've been to jama life. In life, I've been to
- 43:07Speaker 4: Jamaica and I've been I've been there, and I don't
- 43:10Speaker 4: recommend that, but like it's I don't need a vacation
- 43:13Speaker 4: for my life because I love what I do. You know,
- 43:16Speaker 4: I remember ray Lewis told me he's you know, he's
- 43:19Speaker 4: like and he says it a lot. He said, my
- 43:21Speaker 4: work is my grind.
- 43:22Speaker 3: He's in.
- 43:23Speaker 4: My grind is my relaxation. So when I was worried
- 43:26Speaker 4: about something, it would and I would you know, some
- 43:28Speaker 4: people run from it, I would. I would run to it,
- 43:31Speaker 4: you know what I mean? Like me, relaxing is me
- 43:33Speaker 4: building the property. That's like Aligo didn't he didn't take
- 43:37Speaker 4: a vacation for twenty years. Aligo didn't go to riches
- 43:40Speaker 4: black the richish black person in the world.
- 43:42Speaker 3: That's my point.
- 43:44Speaker 2: He's worth like twelve million dollars Nigeria. His first he
- 43:48Speaker 2: didn't take. He did't taking a vacation for first twenty.
- 43:51Speaker 3: You know he went.
- 43:51Speaker 6: When he went, took it Miami, Miami exactly because it's
- 43:56Speaker 6: like it's like, yo, I don't need I got, you know,
- 43:59Speaker 6: friends and girls was all you kind of come with me,
- 44:02Speaker 6: die being and this and I'm like, man, I like
- 44:05Speaker 6: it looks nice.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Yeah, it's cool, but it's.
- 44:07Speaker 4: Like, yo, I got, I got thirty toilets coming next week.
- 44:10Speaker 3: I gotta I gotta make sure I hit that mark,
- 44:13Speaker 3: you know.
- 44:13Speaker 4: And it's like because that when that refund, when that refinance.
- 44:17Speaker 3: Check come, that's my that's that's man.
- 44:19Speaker 4: That's the real vacans ain't that's feeling better than sex, man,
- 44:23Speaker 4: that's better than the.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Orgasm at the new property. Yeah, so the new property
- 44:28Speaker 3: you got.
- 44:29Speaker 5: But before we go to new property, we got to
- 44:31Speaker 5: talk about the commercial space.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Right you said mixed use property. You started cafe and
- 44:36Speaker 3: lounge with the college classmate or did you guys know
- 44:40Speaker 3: each other through school? No? No, I started.
- 44:42Speaker 4: I started myself, but I brought a cat on who
- 44:46Speaker 4: who is known in the city to like open up,
- 44:49Speaker 4: help open up restaurants. Once again, it didn't work out,
- 44:52Speaker 4: but he helped me open it. He didn't know what
- 44:54Speaker 4: he was doing with management wise, but he helped me
- 44:58Speaker 4: open it. And then once it was open, I found
- 45:00Speaker 4: he didn't know what he was doing management wise. Once again,
- 45:02Speaker 4: I had to learn on the fly the restaurant business
- 45:05Speaker 4: in a matter of weeks. And but what I tell
- 45:08Speaker 4: people to do, first of all, the first, diversifying is
- 45:12Speaker 4: a bad word. You know, you look at the richest
- 45:15Speaker 4: people in the world. They only are good at one
- 45:17Speaker 4: or two things, right, You don't You don't see Mark Zeckelberg,
- 45:21Speaker 4: you know, starting to open up fried chickens spots or whatever.
- 45:24Speaker 4: That dude he Facebook Facebook, Facebook Facebook. Oh okay, this
- 45:28Speaker 4: is a one off of Facebook called Instagram. I'm gonna
- 45:30Speaker 4: buy you for a billion now Facebook and Instagram, Facebook
- 45:33Speaker 4: and Instagram Amazon Amazon, Amazon, Amazon Amazon, And then okay,
- 45:39Speaker 4: that's whole foods. Are we gonna buy whole foods? Because
- 45:41Speaker 4: we start once we became the richest company in the world.
- 45:45Speaker 4: Now we can buy whole foods. Now, let you know
- 45:48Speaker 4: how important real estate is. What is Amazon doing? They
- 45:51Speaker 4: buying up mad real estate because they gotta find ways
- 45:54Speaker 4: to make wealth. I don't care what level you on.
- 45:58Speaker 4: That's why they y'all unfortunately lost the New York was
- 46:01Speaker 4: about to get on.
- 46:02Speaker 5: We covered that Amazon like real estate wise, like that
- 46:06Speaker 5: all of people don't notice. But they're like buying up
- 46:08Speaker 5: old malls because malls like traditionally were built in the
- 46:12Speaker 5: like the hubs of cities. Right, but as retail space
- 46:14Speaker 5: is closed, Amazon's coming in like we don't need to
- 46:17Speaker 5: build the infrastructure. It's already here right now, since they're
- 46:20Speaker 5: trying to move from two dayship into now same day shipping.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Now they have the mall that's right near you, just
- 46:25Speaker 3: to deliver it. You know what I'm saying.
- 46:27Speaker 4: It's about to be. They they about the they rule
- 46:30Speaker 4: the world. They're about to get ruled the world, like
- 46:32Speaker 4: for sure. And and but it also shows even though
- 46:36Speaker 4: the money they turn they worked one trillion dollars, not
- 46:40Speaker 4: one hundred billion, that worth one trillion dollars, they still
- 46:45Speaker 4: need to park their money in assets called, and that's
- 46:49Speaker 4: why they're coming around saying, look, we're gonna put a
- 46:51Speaker 4: billion dollars and build three towers, thirty three towers in
- 46:54Speaker 4: this city, in this city, because that's real estate, real estate,
- 46:57Speaker 4: and one of them is the most important. Like acid,
- 46:59Speaker 4: you can you actually own. So with common grounds, with
- 47:04Speaker 4: my cafe. Back to that, I got tired. I just
- 47:09Speaker 4: always wanted, like I said, you know, the commercial aspect
- 47:12Speaker 4: of things always appealed to me. So my first commercial
- 47:17Speaker 4: venture is Studio forty four, my hair salon. That was
- 47:20Speaker 4: that was my first commercial venture of on a three
- 47:24Speaker 4: a four unit building. And in the in the fifth
- 47:28Speaker 4: unit is I made a beauty salon and we're redoing
- 47:32Speaker 4: that right now and about the revamping and reopen it next.
- 47:37Speaker 4: I just saw and started going. I never drank coffee,
- 47:41Speaker 4: you know, for my whole life until two years ago.
- 47:44Speaker 4: And the only reason I started drinking coffee is because
- 47:46Speaker 4: I started liking coffee shops. I started liking how they
- 47:50Speaker 4: looked in the in the vibe and then you know,
- 47:52Speaker 4: you see the honey's coming in, people doing their work,
- 47:55Speaker 4: and it was real ine lectures.
- 47:57Speaker 3: It was like a whole vibe.
- 47:58Speaker 4: It was a whole vibe, and I was like, I
- 48:00Speaker 4: don't like coffe because I don't want to stay my TV.
- 48:01Speaker 4: I said, but you know what, I need to start
- 48:03Speaker 4: drinking it. I need to start feeling it. I need
- 48:05Speaker 4: to start getting used to how it feels it being here,
- 48:08Speaker 4: how the machines look, and how fast people should be
- 48:11Speaker 4: in and out. Because I'm going to invest in my
- 48:14Speaker 4: own spot. And then I couldn't get Starbucks. I couldn't
- 48:17Speaker 4: get like other you know, the smaller than Starbucks with
- 48:21Speaker 4: bigger name spots to come into the neighborhoods.
- 48:25Speaker 3: I invested it into the hood.
- 48:28Speaker 4: So I said, you know what, man, you know I'm
- 48:30Speaker 4: going to open up my own We're not even asking
- 48:33Speaker 4: even asking no more. And I did it. It's a
- 48:37Speaker 4: but I took a risk small enough for me if
- 48:40Speaker 4: it failed that it was like, okay, I'm only out
- 48:42Speaker 4: thirty grands. I mean, I'm only out eighty eighty seventy
- 48:45Speaker 4: thousand dollars. It's a write off, and I can just
- 48:48Speaker 4: rent the space out to somebody that does want to
- 48:51Speaker 4: do a coffee shop, or I could just rent the
- 48:53Speaker 4: space out to somebody else and just collapse it. And
- 48:56Speaker 4: it's a learning lesson. Actually, started working out, you know,
- 48:59Speaker 4: and I call it common Grounds, and it's a millennial
- 49:01Speaker 4: based cafe that all I feel like Starbucks that you
- 49:06Speaker 4: see them trying to revamp. But Starbucks to me remind
- 49:08Speaker 4: me of like old heads and like older people and like.
- 49:10Speaker 3: The baby boomers.
- 49:12Speaker 4: And it got the it's Starbucks with a lot of
- 49:14Speaker 4: other individual coffee spots are now starting to take takeover,
- 49:19Speaker 4: like people want those cool hip coffee spots. And I said,
- 49:22Speaker 4: there's nothing no coffee spots pertaining to the millennial and
- 49:25Speaker 4: college base. So I made my coffee spot look like
- 49:30Speaker 4: like a tattoo pollor or like a lounge. And we
- 49:33Speaker 4: call it common Grounds because it's in the area that's gentrifying.
- 49:36Speaker 4: So it's a common space that people can a ground
- 49:40Speaker 4: that people can come and mingle, you know, from all
- 49:42Speaker 4: different nationalities the way the way the world. And then
- 49:45Speaker 4: grounds tie in with the coffee. So we got cool
- 49:47Speaker 4: neon lights, we play you know, intellectual stuff, We played Drake,
- 49:52Speaker 4: We got traps Saturday saturd Days or whatever.
- 49:55Speaker 3: It's adop money humans a common grounds three three.
- 49:58Speaker 2: You know, you know what Albert Einstein once said, imagination
- 50:02Speaker 2: is better than informational knowledge, right, and The reason why
- 50:05Speaker 2: you said that is because especially to be an entrepreneur,
- 50:08Speaker 2: you have to have creativity, right. And that's one thing
- 50:11Speaker 2: I like about Just from listening to you, I could
- 50:14Speaker 2: tell that you're a creative person, right, even from taking
- 50:17Speaker 2: the money from your scholarship and using it and for
- 50:20Speaker 2: enaggling that and thinking about different things. And I think
- 50:22Speaker 2: that that's one of the biggest things. A lot of
- 50:24Speaker 2: times people want blueprints on how to be an entrepreneur.
- 50:25Speaker 2: There's no blueprint for it. You got to be creative
- 50:28Speaker 2: and use your God given ability to think on your feet, right.
- 50:32Speaker 2: And that's one of the things that you know a
- 50:34Speaker 2: lot of times in our day to day life. You know,
- 50:36Speaker 2: we have families and you get a job and you're
- 50:39Speaker 2: so tired. What it does is it drains your creativity
- 50:43Speaker 2: and it takes your ambition away and you just get
- 50:45Speaker 2: used to your day to day life, right. And that's
- 50:48Speaker 2: one of even for me being an entrepreneur, that's what
- 50:50Speaker 2: I love the most because I have freedom to think.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Like you don't even realize that you don't have freedom
- 50:56Speaker 2: to think until you don't. Like it's set up from
- 50:59Speaker 2: nine to five, kid, you walk your door. You don't
- 51:02Speaker 2: have time and think. You know what I'm saying, The
- 51:03Speaker 2: average person don't have time to think. And that's so powerful.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Like when we talk to people, that's like one common thing,
- 51:09Speaker 2: Like I could just tell you a lot going on
- 51:11Speaker 2: in your head, and I encourage people take a half
- 51:13Speaker 2: an hour, take an hour out of your day and
- 51:15Speaker 2: just meditate, just think, like you never know what you
- 51:18Speaker 2: can come up with, Like what ideas can come up with.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Everybody has a million dollar idea. You just have to
- 51:22Speaker 2: actually be able to put it together.
- 51:24Speaker 4: Put it together exactly what the richest dude in the world,
- 51:29Speaker 4: Bezos who on Amazon, right, guess what his morning ritual is, meditation.
- 51:36Speaker 4: He wakes up and he sits in the bed and
- 51:38Speaker 4: just thinks.
- 51:39Speaker 2: Now you have to That's that's his blueprint. You have to.
- 51:43Speaker 3: He's just a man. Now.
- 51:44Speaker 2: It's the best feeling the world. I do that every day.
- 51:47Speaker 2: And Kanye actually said that too, right where Kanye was
- 51:51Speaker 2: like for the first half an hour hour, he don't
- 51:54Speaker 2: do nothing, He just thinks. And a lot of times
- 51:57Speaker 2: people can't relate. It's hard for people to understand a
- 52:01Speaker 2: creative if they're not a creative, right, But once you
- 52:06Speaker 2: get in that zone, you understand like this is powerful.
- 52:09Speaker 2: I tell Troy that my summer is a little different
- 52:11Speaker 2: because I have to take my son to camp. But
- 52:14Speaker 2: during outside of that, I get to think for like
- 52:17Speaker 2: a half an hour hour and it changes your whole day,
- 52:21Speaker 2: It really does.
- 52:22Speaker 4: You never feel more of the live than that.
- 52:24Speaker 5: The environmental change too, Like I was in an environ
- 52:27Speaker 5: I teach, So I was in an environment in the city.
- 52:29Speaker 3: It was like just making it through the day. It
- 52:31Speaker 3: was like, yo, that is that's the.
- 52:33Speaker 5: Wind, right And then I changed, right, man, I went
- 52:35Speaker 5: to a different school district and like, I don't know,
- 52:38Speaker 5: like my.
- 52:38Speaker 3: Mind has been free to think.
- 52:39Speaker 5: Like so like even doing this, like the podcast in itself,
- 52:42Speaker 5: it was like I got so many ideas because like
- 52:45Speaker 5: my environment, that's freaked me up.
- 52:47Speaker 2: That's that's another thing too. Not to get off topic,
- 52:49Speaker 2: but we're not all topic. We staying on course is
- 52:51Speaker 2: that everything plays a part, even small things. So he
- 52:55Speaker 2: used to be a teacher in the Bronx, right, and
- 52:57Speaker 2: I'm a financial advisor. So he asked me to come
- 53:00Speaker 2: to speak to his kids. And I'll never forget. When
- 53:02Speaker 2: I went to the school, they have bars on the
- 53:04Speaker 2: window and I had to get checked in from a
- 53:06Speaker 2: security guard life. How they supposed to learn this and vive.
- 53:09Speaker 2: I feel like I'm in jail. I feel like I'm
- 53:10Speaker 2: going to jail.
- 53:11Speaker 5: Down to the paint, Like the paint is blue, just
- 53:13Speaker 5: like jail. They got the metal de textants. You gotta
- 53:14Speaker 5: walk through. We're talking about ten year olds. That's crazy
- 53:17Speaker 5: coming through on a daily basis.
- 53:18Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 53:19Speaker 5: Forget of all the things that they saw coming to school.
- 53:22Speaker 5: Now they got to go through this bars on the windows.
- 53:24Speaker 5: There's no going outside like you in from nine eight
- 53:27Speaker 5: thirty most times to three thirty.
- 53:29Speaker 3: It's like.
- 53:31Speaker 2: But it's a reason. Like if you ever go to
- 53:33Speaker 2: like any of these tech companies, there's no it's like
- 53:35Speaker 2: an open space and fire white walls.
- 53:39Speaker 3: It's a reason space you could you could think better.
- 53:42Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 53:42Speaker 4: That's a great point, man, And that's one of the
- 53:45Speaker 4: reasons why I tried so hard to to be successful,
- 53:51Speaker 4: is because to give back to that type of thing.
- 53:55Speaker 3: You know, I was the police district and around where
- 53:59Speaker 3: I invest.
- 54:00Speaker 4: That they did their first which I thought was dope
- 54:03Speaker 4: first community outreach cookout and for it to be a
- 54:06Speaker 4: police district to do that in a black neighborhood to
- 54:09Speaker 4: have a black party. That was like amazing, And I
- 54:11Speaker 4: funded the whole thing for the police district.
- 54:13Speaker 3: And just to see.
- 54:15Speaker 4: Those kids, you know, with the balls, and then the
- 54:18Speaker 4: swat team was out there so the kids can go
- 54:20Speaker 4: through the swat car. I'm a big I love like army.
- 54:23Speaker 4: Anybody's listening that is a police officer or in the army,
- 54:27Speaker 4: I appreciate your service. And uh, just to see that
- 54:32Speaker 4: was dope. And they saw black man handing the big check.
- 54:35Speaker 4: I told the captain, I said, I want the big
- 54:37Speaker 4: lottery check when out on stage.
- 54:40Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. You are really the Broad
- 54:42Speaker 3: Street bully. I'm the Ghost of Philly ghost.
- 54:46Speaker 4: I get called Ghost of Philly. Yeah, my life is
- 54:52Speaker 4: a little it's very similar. So yeah, and for them
- 55:04Speaker 4: to see that in my coffee shop the other day,
- 55:06Speaker 4: I got posted on my Grammar and coffee shop or
- 55:08Speaker 4: whatever it was these three three black kids or whatever.
- 55:10Speaker 4: And I listened to my coffee shop. I get a
- 55:12Speaker 4: lot of college students in there, so it was you know,
- 55:15Speaker 4: and we we we're definitely we're very affordable, but we
- 55:19Speaker 4: do like the lattes, like like high.
- 55:21Speaker 3: End coffee stuff. You know.
- 55:23Speaker 4: And I had three black kids that walked in and
- 55:25Speaker 4: they uh and they was like, yeah, man, you know
- 55:28Speaker 4: we don't want no, I want some healthy food.
- 55:31Speaker 3: And I was like, you want some healthy food? I
- 55:32Speaker 3: was like, what you like? What you want that we got?
- 55:35Speaker 5: Like?
- 55:35Speaker 4: I was like, you might like a barbecue chicken. I
- 55:37Speaker 4: mean a buffalo chicken wrap. You know what I'm saying.
- 55:40Speaker 4: I can give you that. And his friends was like,
- 55:42Speaker 4: I want some pizza. He was like, nah, I take that.
- 55:45Speaker 4: I said what you got and he was I got
- 55:47Speaker 4: five dollars? I said they cost seven and he was.
- 55:49Speaker 4: I was like, I was like, I want you five hours.
- 55:51Speaker 4: I spot you the other too, because I wanted to
- 55:53Speaker 4: teach him like everything you do gonna cost and and
- 55:57Speaker 4: we ended up giving everybody coffee, so gave him free
- 56:01Speaker 4: coffee and that and they was like they eating and
- 56:03Speaker 4: he was like, what you work here, that's that's the mentality.
- 56:10Speaker 4: And I said, no, I own it. And they was
- 56:12Speaker 4: like you own his place? I said I own it.
- 56:14Speaker 4: He said no, you own his place. I said, yeah, man,
- 56:16Speaker 4: this is my spot. Like these white people they work
- 56:18Speaker 4: for me. And he was like and they couldn't believe it,
- 56:22Speaker 4: and like you know, I'm getting like emotional right now.
- 56:25Speaker 4: That was why I do it, you know, that's like
- 56:28Speaker 4: one reason why I do it. I don't do this
- 56:31Speaker 4: for the money. The thing that makes me like the
- 56:34Speaker 4: most favorite is when I have bankers, and most of
- 56:40Speaker 4: my bankers have been white. I have some black that
- 56:44Speaker 4: believe to invest money in me. A tattic, big like
- 56:49Speaker 4: football looking black dude, you know what I'm saying with
- 56:53Speaker 4: with with with a mohawk, with a hair bun, you
- 56:56Speaker 4: know that can recognize I'm intelligent enough to play that
- 57:00Speaker 4: type of development game and then I'm able to give
- 57:03Speaker 4: them their money back and make them hole.
- 57:05Speaker 3: Or when I had.
- 57:05Speaker 4: People moving into my space that I created, you talk
- 57:08Speaker 4: about being created. I see myself as an artist, not
- 57:10Speaker 4: as a real estate developer, you know. And people are
- 57:14Speaker 4: moving into the space that was once dirt, and now
- 57:17Speaker 4: they're moving in and they're enjoying themselves and bringing their
- 57:20Speaker 4: friends over to check out what I built for them.
- 57:23Speaker 4: That's that's gotta beat. That's you know, that's where the enjoyment.
- 57:27Speaker 4: The one house I told you guys about that was
- 57:30Speaker 4: my first house I ever built. That was to an
- 57:33Speaker 4: army vet you know, him and his wife and I
- 57:36Speaker 4: gave them like a good deal on it for like
- 57:38Speaker 4: a thirty grand below the price because I made it.
- 57:41Speaker 4: I still made a killing it on the property. And
- 57:46Speaker 4: and it was right before Christmas and they was able
- 57:48Speaker 4: to get in it for the holidays like those are.
- 57:51Speaker 4: That's why I felt like the universe continues to bless
- 57:55Speaker 4: me where I am, where I'm at. You know I've
- 57:57Speaker 4: turned I got two young black brothers out and turned
- 57:59Speaker 4: them into millionaires and investing in real estate. That it
- 58:02Speaker 4: came in my office, you know what I'm saying. I
- 58:04Speaker 4: had them intern for me, and they went out of
- 58:06Speaker 4: their own shot to Patrick and yeah, man, that's that's.
- 58:10Speaker 3: What it's about.
- 58:11Speaker 2: So you knewest project with the how many how many units?
- 58:15Speaker 3: Is it?
- 58:15Speaker 2: Twenty two units?
- 58:16Speaker 4: All the loss, the four lots, the four lots total
- 58:20Speaker 4: it is a total of twenty two units and a
- 58:21Speaker 4: total of about three thousand square for your commercial.
- 58:25Speaker 2: So twenty two unit apartment building. Yeah, can you talk
- 58:28Speaker 2: about that?
- 58:29Speaker 4: Yeah, let's talk about it.
- 58:30Speaker 5: So that that didn't come without a few food bumps
- 58:33Speaker 5: in an absolutely, and you know the city was.
- 58:35Speaker 3: On your back.
- 58:36Speaker 4: The city is on my bag, bro.
- 58:38Speaker 5: The reason they're on your back because they're saying that
- 58:39Speaker 5: you got the property undervalue. So they're saying that, you
- 58:43Speaker 5: know what, it praised for one hundred and fifty thousand
- 58:45Speaker 5: to two hundred thousand dollars and you got it well
- 58:48Speaker 5: under that.
- 58:48Speaker 3: Yeah, this is a behind the scenes story that they
- 58:51Speaker 3: didn't know.
- 58:51Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, so, first of all, it is a
- 58:55Speaker 4: political anytime it's an election year in Philly. In anytime
- 59:00Speaker 4: it's an election year, you know, people just try to
- 59:02Speaker 4: pull up during all that type of stuff. But to
- 59:04Speaker 4: make a long story, make a long story longer, it
- 59:08Speaker 4: was they basically gave me that properly a praise at
- 59:12Speaker 4: first for like and I'm not gonna talk say too
- 59:15Speaker 4: much on it, but they gave it a praise ad
- 59:18Speaker 4: like one hundred and thirty grand I put down a
- 59:19Speaker 4: check for like thirteen thousand dollars back then and at
- 59:23Speaker 4: that and they took it the ten percent down and
- 59:26Speaker 4: signed it, saying the contract.
- 59:28Speaker 3: That's a contract. At the end of the day.
- 59:29Speaker 4: You know, you can sue for something called specific performance
- 59:33Speaker 4: at that point in time, and I didn't. Once I
- 59:36Speaker 4: put the check down, I'm thinking everything is cool. Like
- 59:40Speaker 4: three months four months later, they hit me up and
- 59:43Speaker 4: was like nine hundred and thirty grand. It's too cheap, man.
- 59:45Speaker 4: I'm like, yo, what do you mean?
- 59:47Speaker 3: Right?
- 59:48Speaker 2: So I'm like, all right, whatever.
- 59:49Speaker 5: The Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority, that's who came back the way way,
- 59:54Speaker 5: we give that to you.
- 59:54Speaker 4: You know, yeah right, And I was like, all right, well,
- 59:57Speaker 4: let's see they went from one thirty to four nine.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: And I'm like, wow, hold up right, hold up, hold
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: up really so so I'm like, I'm like, yo, na, man,
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: you guys did this like I you know, we can
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: It was at a standstill.
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: Make a long story short.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: You know, they came down on the number I came, came,
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: came high, high up, paid over half. They even meet
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: me halfway, and ended up paying three hundred and seventy
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: thousand dollars for the land. And one of the reasons
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: why they they went from four ninety to three seventy
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: A big part of that is because I was able
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: to show and this is about I said before about
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: knowing what real estate is worth, knowing.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: What your stuff is worth. Study your craft.
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: You know, you hear people say that all the time.
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: Study your craft, study of your craft. I'm a great
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: negotiating big in part because I know a lot of times,
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: I'm not perfect. You know, I done made a lot
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: of mistakes. I'm going to make even more mistakes. But
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: I know what the real estate is worth. And at
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: the time, the zoning for those lots, even though they
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: were big, the zoning didn't allow you to take advantage
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: of the true size that you can build. So I
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: can build a big building, but I only can put
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: two apartments in it when it's big enough for three.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Just to make it easy for you to comprehend, because
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: the zoning laws had changed for just that slit of
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: a moment, and I was able to tell and show
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: improve to the redevelopment authority.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: Yo, look at this.
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: Yeah, down the street sold for that because the zoning
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: allowed them to take advantage of a building that size.
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: You know, they allowed to put three units in the
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: building that size. Now municipalities y'all changed, they changed the
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: zoning code.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: I can build a billing that size.
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: But I'm still only gonna be able to put two
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: units in it, so it ain't really worth what that is.
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: And they did their research. On top of saying, like
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: you know what, we actually really could get sued too
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: because we did cash that check. For thirteen and they
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: came down only at twenty five thousand a lot. That's
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: still ain't a lot of money. I still paid one
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: hundred basically one hundred ninety two thousand and five a lot, you.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: Know, twenty and sixteen. You know what I'm saying. Fast forward?
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: You know I built one put common grounds in the other,
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: and that they see this big apartment building coming up,
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: and I was like, oh, you got it for cheeks.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: We didn't know, you.
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: Know, another developer probably hating because he's salty, you know,
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: definitely salty or some or you know, somebody mad at
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: such and such council person or whatever. I ain't listen, man, Like,
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: you know, I didn't even know that.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: The counselman. They trying to tell you to a counselman.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: They're like, anyway, he had to push the button to
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: get this to Feld. Yeah, he does have to push
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: the button.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: He support He supported me, but it was that was it,
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: like you got to support every developer. But making long
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: story short, it's because a black man was playing white
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: man's game and doing well.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: Off of it, and that was supporting you was black also.
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: Exactly exactly like what's the problem.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: Because the counselman was black, black cudent. It's like they
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: gotta be.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: The gotta be a conspiracy. It can't be like.
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: This is a thorough, a dope real estate developer that
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: improved itself and is now, you know, proving itself again
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: with a great deal. It's not like I got the
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: land for free.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: I still paid four hundred thousand, you know, and phil
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: it for some dirt in Philadelphia.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: So prevails so that it's never gonna be a smooth ride.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: It's always gonna be up.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: Business put me on the map even more, got my
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: street crowd up, you know what I mean, made even
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: more of a legend and a and a young o
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: g and again I tell him the title of the
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: other building. The title of the building is called the Bullard.
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: It is why not? You know, I love the ring.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: Trump could call his building the Trump Towers.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: Why not?
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Why not? It is legacy, legacy, hustle for your last thame,
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: as my tea shirt says plugged.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: Can you talk about the.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: Skin care line?
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: Yeah? So the skin care line is that's this is
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: gonna be funny. So I came out. I did a in.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: A song called Zaddy What you call, right, you know creative,
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: you know what's funny?
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: Man?
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: I dressed up like a pharaoh and I had these
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: girls in my in my joint, and you've made the
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: video this rapping. This is before blood line, this is
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: for this right, and we shot at party in the
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: Milano store. You ad the Milano.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, she's doing some big things.
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, And that was like what my former girlfriend,
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: she was behind the desk, she's she's you know, my
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: quyt is is bad as hell, and I had her
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: in this joint. He's sitting down and I warped back
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: to from the Egyptian to the future to get my
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: Egyptian like like goddess. Goddess is like red bottoms. That's
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: what a zaddy? Do you know what I'm saying? You
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: buy now warped back? Oh, this is the video, right,
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: we gotta we gotta see this. So it's some funny
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: that the song is funny. I got his own iTunes
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: everything right anyway, So at the time, make this wrong
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: or whatever, you know, it's so stupid, so ratchet, but
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: being but then I see, you know, it's funny. But
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: then I see Drake and Migos having Jerry curls and
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: trainer giants.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: So I was like, yo, I'm in.
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: The clear, right, So so make a long story short.
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: I told my I told my my, my lawyers who
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: are in their my IP lawyers, intellectual property lawyers in Miami,
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: and I told him. I said, I was like, look,
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: I want to copyright my songs. They say, copyright it.
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: And then my song was like Zaddy's Daddy, Daddy's as
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: copyright that because I don't nobody saying that, right. So
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: then I fly down there. And before I fly down there,
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: I went to CVS. In the CBS, I'm walking down
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: the men's aisle because you know, we all got beards
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: or whatever. And it was my first time I ever
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: saw that they had the men's section for like self
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: carried and bears like actually dressed up nice in the pilling. Normally,
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: the men's sections like the little hole in.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: The wall in the corner you got to ask somebody.
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: And the women's joint is like come and get it.
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: They got the models, they got the bright lights, the
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: led around it, and I was like yo, and.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: It was dope. And I saw like all these.
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: Bear cares and I saw like, you know, like rejuvenation
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: and like the shaven stuff, and.
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: It reached out to me.
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: So I fly out of Miami and I meet with
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: my lawyers every time I go down there or whatever,
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: and we're sitting down, I said, you know, I gotta
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: take something off this Zaddi name. I gotta like make
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: more off of it.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: I was like clothes, and you know, I was closed.
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: And she started explaining to me. And then at that
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: spec second in their office and my lawyers you know,
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: they they bad too.
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: They got the creative space.
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, you know, Brianna And after
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: the Brenda's to Brianny and Shammy LP in Miami and
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: they was like, and I thought it back to CVS
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: and I was like, fucking men's skincare.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: And they looked at me.
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: I looked at them like, y'all, motherfucker's been not still
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: my idea And they looked at me like, yo, that
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: is a great idea. And I was like, I want
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: to get on it right now. Started trademarking it, started
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: doing this, that and the third because I understood the
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: brand and the names. Well people it was like, people
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: are like, what don't call yourself Zaddy?
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: Why you did this with Zaddy.
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: Like you guys not thinking when you google what Zaddy means.
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: A guy pops up on a car and says, sexy, uh, sophisticated,
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: fashionable man.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: If I walk in and I came into you with
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: an idea and say, hey, I own a body wash
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: called Old Spice, I would have to explain to you
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: what old Spice means and why it's going to be
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: appealing to men. Old Spice is one of the biggest
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: last long and brands in history. Zaddy already has a
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: term that means sexy, sophisticated, fashionable man. Zaddy already already
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: is used by the broggers in Hollywood. Who's the top
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: twenty five? Zaddy's Brad Pitt He just Alba. You know
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: they'll say Michael B.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Jordan.
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: You know they might even say Sean Bullard anyway, So
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: suck so you got you got dadd dollars songs. He
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: came out with a hit song called Zaddy You Got
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: the Shade Room.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: This is Zaddy. So it's like, what's going on.
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: And that's what my that's my job when I'm doing
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: with this brand of Zaddy for Minskin here is he
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: didn't want to like First of all, all you guys
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: in this room is handsome men.
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: You know, like it's cool for us to be like yo, man,
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: like we provide. Zaddy is basically I want to I'm
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: making it and I'm basically it's a slow grind. It's
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: gonna take like a year to get out or whatever.
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: The first thing was getting a trademark, but to show
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: you know that we are, like I said in the back,
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: it is a Zaddy is a guy who's attractive and fashionable,
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: a gentleman who believes in the old school value of chivalry,
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: a provider, sophisticated but tough. That's me, and I believe
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: it's a lot of men that are like that. And
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: and you know, there's nothing wrong with saying, you know,
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: hey man, you know I provide for my family. I
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: provide for my lady. And that's what as Zaddy is.
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: I just took it to the level of business because
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: the brand makes sense as a skincare product. So going
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: back to real estate, I want to be a billionaire
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: one day. And to me, when you look at Colie Jenner,
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: she's a billionaire because she is selling her brand, that
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: lipstick that she got that same listic is being sold
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: for five dollars somewhere, but she's stamping her name on it,
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: putting some colors to it, and she's charging it for
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: thirty five to fifty five dollars right because of the brand.
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: So if this already means a guy that cares about
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: his looks, a guy when a girl walks in the
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: room is gonna be like, ooh, Zaddy or whatever. I
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: have this skincare line to provide that brand. Now, when
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: you look at I look at everything I said with
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: real estate, subscription base, everything is going subscription base Amazon.
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: So a lot of guys with Shavers, they.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: Don't even come out.
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: They check every bank account every month thirty bucks, get
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: the shavers in the mail. Or if you got supplements,
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: I'm in the gym a lot. All my supplements come.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: I'm a subscription fifty bucks.
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: I get my.
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: Proteins or whatever in the mail. Same thing with Zaddy.
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: So if you do the math right and Zaddy minskin
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: care don't even have to be in Nemen, marks don't
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: have to being targeted just off of the subscriptions. Now,
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: how many minutes in the country, like two hundred and
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: twenty million. If I sell a package for sixty bucks
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: subscription and you get the Oregon beard oil, you get
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: avocado face cream, which is a rejuvenation. Let's say you
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: get like the lotion or the body wash which is
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: Holmo Safety and that's what we call it then, and
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: my clear off of that, and I just get two
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: hundred thousand subscribers, just two hundred and my clear off
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: of that is twenty thousand off of sixty bucks because
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: a lot of your money gets eaten up in supply
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: chain and all that too. Stuff on a two hundred
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: thousand on the twenty thousand, that is four million thousand
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: a month cleared a month, not a year, a month
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: because of the brand in this name and this meaning it's.
- 1:11:50Speaker 7: Not funny anymore now can I invest in that. It's
- 1:12:00Speaker 7: a different joke.
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: So these are the things of being creative, you know,
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: when it's just saying you have to start being comfortable
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: being uncomfortable. And I've always been comfortable being uncomfortable.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: I've never I just heard.
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: That somebody said your life starts when you're comfort us,
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: when you're comforting.
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: I've never been more live in my life.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: When I see myself in those newspapers and I got
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: you know, this person calling me and I'm like, Yo,
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: they trying to talk about bribing people and all this man.
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: That's when I bow up and I was like, Yo,
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: I'm willing and dealing. Now let's have it. Let's let's go.
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: You know what I mean. When people was.
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: Like, oh, you can't call yourself daddy, why is your
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: Instagram showing underscore Zaddy underscore Bullard, I'm like, I'm like shick.
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: I'm like, first of all, you can't tell me what
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: to do with my name. That's number one. People got
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: to stop telling people that. People got to stop listening
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: to those type of people. Number Two, it's like you'll
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: see it ain't funny after a while.
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: A lot of people get it though.
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying. So the skincare line is coming.
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: Out next year.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: We're done of done making the prototypes as amazing. It's
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: all natural, organic. We have a rejuvenation. I'm a thirty
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: eight year old man that looks like you know, black
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: do on crack. I look like I'm twenty eight, and
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: I want to keep looking like I'm twenty eight, So
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: I have my whole line is called Immortality, and the
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: Immortality line is like the AVOCALLDO face cream. I got
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: the serum. I have the I cream for like the
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: passes or whatever. We have the Orgon beard oil, you
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: know what I'm saying. And we got the charcoal and body,
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: the charcoal and coconut scrub or whatever. We got the
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: shave butter lotion. It's cool names. It's high end stuff
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: and I want to make it affordable. And you know what,
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: it came to me and it made sense. If business
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: makes sense to you and you catch on to it easy,
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: that's something it's worth taking a risk on, you know.
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: And for all people out there. It's not about patents.
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: Trademarks are so much cheaper and trademarks are undeniably one
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: hundred percent for like our tamper proof. You cannot tamper
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: with a trademark. You know, patents. People can get around it,
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: like vanilla ice.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: He said.
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: My jone was done done done, done, done, done done done.
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying. Like you can get around patents.
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: You up a sugar count down a sugar count just
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: that and the third. But trademarks is your trademark.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: That's powerful, that's powerful. We want to thank you, thank
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: you for coming.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: Everybody who comes to episode.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: For sure? Man, can you oh yeah, we're gonna do that.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: Can you tell the people your social media handles and
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: how to reach you?
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: The social media handle is uh sewn uh that s
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: h A w N underscore zady z A D D
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: Y underscore Bullard b U L L A R D
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: all Right, cool cool, Troy common Grounds, Philly. The Bullard
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: should be Yeah, Bullard should be opening in a few
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: weeks now. It will be opening a few is it
- 1:15:11Speaker 4: be done in August first and then to be opening
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: probably like August fifteenth, just.
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: In time for school in town, just in town.
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: For school, even though we don't got all college students
- 1:15:20Speaker 4: in there, but just in time for school Troy.

- 1:15:57Speaker 2: That was dope. Atlanta was dope.
- 1:16:00Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: We did a networking event in Atlanta and somebody from
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: the Virgin Islands came. Awesome, Like just for the networking event,
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: we had people like drive two hours, people coming from Tennessee.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: So it's crazy, man. We we we really appreciate your
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: support and especially in a short period of time for
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: you know, to have that impact. But it's because we
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: provide an information and bringing people on like yourself. So
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: we gotta thank the guests and thank you guys for
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: checking us out. Don't forget the merch for sure. Our

- 1:16:28Speaker 2: the merch choices, wearing merch. We gotta give you a
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: shirt before your day for sure. And the book Tip
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: of the Week is a book called The Twelve Week Year.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: So the theory behind the twelve week Year is that you
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: know a lot of times we set goals. Most of
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: the time you set a goal January first, for the year, right,
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: ninety five percent people will never actually reach their goal
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: because it's too long. Like if you have a goal, Okay,
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: I want to make one hundred thousand dollars for the year,
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: but how are you going to do that? Right? So
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: the twelve week year to say, you break it down
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: to twelve weeks. So each year is twelve weeks and
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: each week you put together an actionable plan and at
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: the end of the month review it. So it's a
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: lot easier to accomplish big goals if you break it down.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: And I'm a big proponent of that, So I actually
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: do that myself now, where every single week on Sunday,
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: I look, I set my goal for the next week,
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: and then I have a yearly. It's a lot easier
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: to look in short periods of time as opposed to
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: a long period of So I recommend that twelve week year.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: And yeah, that's it, man, Thank you for rocking with us.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: We'll see you next week. Peace.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Peace, Peace.
- 1:17:27Speaker 8: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 1:17:30Speaker 8: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador
- 1:17:34Speaker 8: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 1:17:38Speaker 8: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 1:17:42Speaker 8: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 1:17:46Speaker 8: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christine Noman, the United States
- 1:17:50Speaker 8: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 1:17:55Speaker 8: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 1:17:58Speaker 8: one hundred thousand dailygue aliens have been arrested. If you
- 1:18:02Speaker 8: are here illegally, your next you will be fine nearly
